- 1:03Speaker 1: and I'm out here.
- 1:04Speaker 3: You said fifteen hours.
- 1:05Speaker 4: The Holy Spirit don't come to you when you perfect,
- 1:07Speaker 4: It's come to you when you inper.
- 1:32Speaker 1: But now that I have you in the building for
- 1:34Speaker 1: the second time, which I do appreciate you taking time
- 1:37Speaker 1: out of your schedule, I know I give you a
- 1:39Speaker 1: hard time, even though we've only met like twice.
- 1:42Speaker 3: But I truly appreciate your time.
- 1:43Speaker 4: I really appreciate you too, and I like, I don't
- 1:45Speaker 4: like every time I come here. It's good energy, man.
- 1:47Speaker 4: I like you set up. This is genius to be
- 1:49Speaker 4: eating wild broke and reminiscent. The way you tell the stories,
- 1:52Speaker 4: it's amazing.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Man.
- 1:53Speaker 3: Yeah, well, your story is going to be really inspiring
- 1:56Speaker 3: for people because your story is unique and you've been
- 2:00Speaker 3: through a lot. So I'm excited for everyone else to
- 2:02Speaker 3: know what.
- 2:03Speaker 1: I've learned about you outside of the jokes and the
- 2:06Speaker 1: diva ways you have. But go ahead and tell us
- 2:09Speaker 1: what you're gonna have us eating today.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Oh well, it's porking means and hot dogs for the second.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Time, will be almost the third time.
- 2:17Speaker 4: The third time I don't already started and stopped a lot,
- 2:19Speaker 4: but they used to happen in the hood a lot.
- 2:21Speaker 4: So because you know, my mama would be outside, she
- 2:23Speaker 4: hear a noise and she got to stop slide the pot.
- 2:26Speaker 2: So it's the pork and beans and hot dogs. As
- 2:29Speaker 2: you can see, we are.
- 2:29Speaker 4: The vegan version, the vegan version. Well, the the hot
- 2:33Speaker 4: dogs are definitely vegan. The beans in.
- 2:37Speaker 1: Question, I got a vegetarian baked beans because honestly, I
- 2:41Speaker 1: looked everywhere for vegan baked beans and.
- 2:43Speaker 3: I couldn't find it.
- 2:45Speaker 1: If you guys see this or you hear about it
- 2:47Speaker 1: on social media, reach out if you can't find the
- 2:50Speaker 1: vegan baked beans that don't exist, yeah you got. You
- 2:58Speaker 1: do realize that everyone googled and it did not say
- 3:00Speaker 1: it was in jail.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Everyone they google but not I.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Okay, well, after this episode, we will google it and
- 3:06Speaker 1: we'll know. But take me back to what was going
- 3:09Speaker 1: on during the era of baked beans and hot dogs.
- 3:13Speaker 4: It was going on store that relates to a lot
- 3:15Speaker 4: of people's stores. Grew up, No money stayed in the
- 3:18Speaker 4: projects Butler Home I mean Boston homes like Butlert homes
- 3:22Speaker 4: later in life, but Butler Home I mean Boston homes
- 3:26Speaker 4: projects in Mariotta, then being in Miller in Georgia, poking
- 3:31Speaker 4: beans and hot dogs was a main dish deal that
- 3:34Speaker 4: my mom used to cook all week.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Now, when people eat the same dish consistently, like ramen
- 3:40Speaker 1: or baked beans, they usually switch it up a bit.
- 3:43Speaker 1: But you kept yours pretty generic? Is that because that
- 3:48Speaker 1: was the best You guys could do as far as
- 3:49Speaker 1: switching it up.
- 3:50Speaker 4: Yeah, she used to try to switch it up, like
- 3:52Speaker 4: got hot dogs today, guys hot dogs and state of
- 3:55Speaker 4: tops and then next.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Knew meal poking beans and hot dogs.
- 4:00Speaker 4: All right, yay, next day, cut up, o, mama, it's
- 4:06Speaker 4: enough hot dogs, hot dogs and porker bees.
- 4:08Speaker 2: She used to miss it up a lot.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Now.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Is that because of the budget or was it your
- 4:13Speaker 1: mom wasn't that much into cooking.
- 4:15Speaker 4: You know she cooked when we've got our stamps, food stamps,
- 4:19Speaker 4: after food stamps there.
- 4:20Speaker 2: First nine days, oh my god, you thought we were rich.
- 4:23Speaker 4: But the rest of them twenty two let me tell
- 4:25Speaker 4: you now, twenty two days and twenty two nights in
- 4:27Speaker 4: the witness.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Now when your mom would buy stuff with food stamps.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Were you one of those kids that got embarrassed when
- 4:33Speaker 1: she got to the register or were you the type
- 4:35Speaker 1: that was like, everybody's doing it.
- 4:37Speaker 3: So who cares?
- 4:38Speaker 2: I used to be at first embarrassed.
- 4:41Speaker 4: Yeah, after so long, I kind of like stunting with it,
- 4:44Speaker 4: Like I was like, we got it because you know,
- 4:47Speaker 4: most of the neighborhood had them, Like you say, so
- 4:49Speaker 4: it ain't feel man.
- 4:50Speaker 2: We got used to it after that.
- 4:52Speaker 1: Yeah, but I noticed, like eve been growing up in
- 4:55Speaker 1: poor neighborhoods, you always had like the kids that had the.
- 4:57Speaker 3: Nice new kicks or whatever, we're more popular.
- 5:00Speaker 1: And so I remember just knowing that if we were
- 5:03Speaker 1: known as poor, even though the whole geography of that
- 5:06Speaker 1: area was poor, you just knew that there was some
- 5:08Speaker 1: shame with those food standards.
- 5:10Speaker 2: That's real though, but it's.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Good to know that you you grew out of that
- 5:14Speaker 1: and turned it into uh something.
- 5:17Speaker 4: Yeah, because for some reason, and you made you just
- 5:19Speaker 4: made me think about this when you said that we
- 5:21Speaker 4: was always the most popular family, even when we didn't
- 5:23Speaker 4: have money.
- 5:24Speaker 3: So why why do you think that was?
- 5:26Speaker 2: Oh?
- 5:26Speaker 4: My mama was you know, she was cool like shell.
- 5:30Speaker 4: We always was like our family was like the entertainers.
- 5:33Speaker 4: So people used to all the kids wanted to come
- 5:35Speaker 4: to our house. My mama was very entertaining. She knew
- 5:37Speaker 4: how to put parties together, so we were like to
- 5:40Speaker 4: fund people. So we was we was always popular, Okay,
- 5:45Speaker 4: me and me and all my whole family.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Okay, so when you went to school, they weren't worried
- 5:50Speaker 1: about if you.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Were wearing the right thing.
- 5:51Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, they were worried, but I was
- 5:54Speaker 4: so good at talking back and joning people they left
- 5:56Speaker 4: me alone.
- 5:58Speaker 2: I get personal meetings.
- 6:00Speaker 4: You don't ever hear nobody online really say my name
- 6:02Speaker 4: because they kind of know that about.
- 6:04Speaker 1: So like if they were making fun of you being poor,
- 6:06Speaker 1: you would just hit them.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Back with I'm gonna hit them back with.
- 6:09Speaker 4: God gave me little stuff that i'd be thankful for,
- 6:12Speaker 4: like straight teeth.
- 6:13Speaker 2: So there's a lot of it's a lot of bullet
- 6:16Speaker 2: children around. That's all. I don't do it. I ain't
- 6:20Speaker 2: got no money, but my fingernails are clean.
- 6:23Speaker 3: That's good that you had that confidence.
- 6:24Speaker 1: I know when I got made fun of, I definitely
- 6:26Speaker 1: it was just kind of I just didn't like being.
- 6:28Speaker 3: In score with the bullying. But but yeah, that's good.
- 6:31Speaker 3: That's good.
- 6:31Speaker 2: I like to I ain't playing no game.
- 6:33Speaker 4: But I didn't know I was a comedian then, but
- 6:35Speaker 4: my words was used to cut people hard man to
- 6:38Speaker 4: this day.
- 6:39Speaker 2: That's why I do not Jon don't go online talk
- 6:42Speaker 2: about other celebrities because I'm so good at it and
- 6:45Speaker 2: it get personal.
- 6:46Speaker 3: Really.
- 6:46Speaker 4: Oh yeah, even people who met the celebrity who met
- 6:48Speaker 4: me by closed doors, they kind of tell people like,
- 6:52Speaker 4: you know, like.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Well, speaking of talking crap, can I just say that
- 6:57Speaker 1: I've noticed that you're holding that hot dog over that pain.
- 7:00Speaker 3: With no oil in it.
- 7:01Speaker 4: Oh yeah, because I figured out even when sometime when
- 7:03Speaker 4: the hot dog is the slick, the oil is option
- 7:06Speaker 4: because I.
- 7:06Speaker 2: Don't want the hot dog to be sliding out of
- 7:08Speaker 2: your hand.
- 7:09Speaker 3: But wait, there's no fat in there.
- 7:11Speaker 4: There's no fat, but it's still got It's still got
- 7:13Speaker 4: an old base. You got to know how to cook
- 7:16Speaker 4: to do this.
- 7:16Speaker 1: Usually when I get feedback, gets spurn their dish. But
- 7:19Speaker 1: I'm trying to not give too much feedback.
- 7:22Speaker 3: Learning.
- 7:22Speaker 4: Yeah, I've got to learn. You got to watch, learn, listen.
- 7:25Speaker 4: That's that's a strength. That's a strength from a woman.
- 7:28Speaker 4: A woman is the best listening. We can't listen like y'all,
- 7:31Speaker 4: so you got to do your strength.
- 7:34Speaker 3: I heard guys listen to solve problems, and women we
- 7:37Speaker 3: just want to be heard.
- 7:39Speaker 4: Now people don't know, because if they knew, they would
- 7:41Speaker 4: do we wouldn't still be searching.
- 7:44Speaker 2: So we don't know.
- 7:46Speaker 4: We just we just know what need to be and
- 7:50Speaker 4: what need to be is what it is. So women
- 7:52Speaker 4: are way better listeners than us because we have ego
- 7:56Speaker 4: a woman most of the time have to nurture a child,
- 7:58Speaker 4: so she can't have as much ego as her because
- 8:00Speaker 4: the child's with her no matter what. So ego had
- 8:02Speaker 4: to get out the way because she's like, hold on,
- 8:03Speaker 4: let me see what the real problem is. Man, be
- 8:05Speaker 4: like nope, nope. So that's your gift and our gift.
- 8:09Speaker 4: This provided protecting and anytime we slack over our main thing,
- 8:14Speaker 4: that's when our value started to Listen.
- 8:17Speaker 3: Okay, I could see that. Taking notes, ladies, I'm charging
- 8:20Speaker 3: for that. Well, we're gonna get into the.
- 8:23Speaker 1: Women thing because I know you have your comedy special,
- 8:26Speaker 1: A Woman's Prayer, which you guys should check out if
- 8:30Speaker 1: you haven't already on Netflix.
- 8:33Speaker 3: But before we get.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Into your game and your knowledge, I don't want you
- 8:37Speaker 1: to still take me back to this time when your
- 8:39Speaker 1: mom was making this food and you and how many
- 8:42Speaker 1: siblings You said.
- 8:45Speaker 4: It was two. It was three. It's me and two siblings.
- 8:47Speaker 4: So me and my two older sisters. Yeah it was us.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Okay, you were the only guy. And then your mom
- 8:53Speaker 1: she passed while you were Yeah, she.
- 8:56Speaker 2: Passed when I was eleven. I had just turned eleven.
- 8:59Speaker 4: She transition on December the fourteenth, and my birthday was
- 9:02Speaker 4: Decemmer the.
- 9:03Speaker 3: Night wait your birthday or hers?
- 9:07Speaker 2: And she got sick on my birthday.
- 9:11Speaker 1: I'm just curious, like, how did you handle that as
- 9:13Speaker 1: a child, Like what was your head thinking?
- 9:16Speaker 4: Oh man, it felt like the world had ended when
- 9:18Speaker 4: she left. I couldn't believe it. And every song that
- 9:21Speaker 4: came on the radio felt like it was singing about her.
- 9:24Speaker 4: It was a difficult song. How did you get here?
- 9:29Speaker 4: I was thinking that the angels was like heaven, like
- 9:31Speaker 4: you weren't supposed to be here yet. So I took
- 9:33Speaker 4: everything personal. But the day of her funeral, I remember
- 9:39Speaker 4: a strength came over me. I looked at everybody and
- 9:42Speaker 4: I started to make myself laugh like I used to
- 9:44Speaker 4: do her. So that's how I handled it. I always
- 9:48Speaker 4: handled it through comedy. I always I made myself laugh,
- 9:51Speaker 4: and I used to make her laugh, even when we
- 9:53Speaker 4: used to go through stuff. I said, my mama laughed
- 9:55Speaker 4: so much without even trying. So I started to find comedy,
- 9:59Speaker 4: enjoying everything. So that's how I handled it. And I
- 10:02Speaker 4: didn't cry. That's my last time ever crying. I was
- 10:04Speaker 4: at her funeral and I was crying because this is
- 10:08Speaker 4: when I learned that a man can't cry. I don't
- 10:10Speaker 4: care what they say, because once a woman to see
- 10:11Speaker 4: a man cry, I don't care what they say.
- 10:13Speaker 2: In the back of their mind, they think they're weak.
- 10:15Speaker 4: I was crying and the girl that was in the
- 10:17Speaker 4: same grade as me, fifth grade, and they actually will
- 10:19Speaker 4: I was in the front row crying at the funeral.
- 10:21Speaker 4: She was looking at me because she couldn't believe mister
- 10:23Speaker 4: talking jump on the playground crying.
- 10:25Speaker 2: I was crying and I looked at her. I sucked
- 10:28Speaker 2: my tears up, and I ain't cried since that day.
- 10:30Speaker 2: So I handled it. I handled it through comedy.
- 10:33Speaker 1: Well, sometimes you could also say that maybe, like that
- 10:37Speaker 1: moment was so much trauma that it like there was
- 10:39Speaker 1: a protection, because I find it hard to believe you
- 10:41Speaker 1: haven't cried since then.
- 10:42Speaker 2: I only cried good things.
- 10:44Speaker 4: I cried when Dione Sanders hug his son really like yeah,
- 10:49Speaker 4: I cried by positive things.
- 10:51Speaker 2: But nothing sad, nothing said.
- 10:52Speaker 4: I ain't cry about nothing since nothing came made me cry.
- 10:57Speaker 3: Okay, that's good to know.
- 10:58Speaker 1: So all right, So your mom passes, What what happens
- 11:03Speaker 1: to you and your siblings?
- 11:04Speaker 2: Oh, my grandma came.
- 11:06Speaker 4: My grandma came for sure from Florida and she she
- 11:10Speaker 4: took she took my sister's here. She wanted me to stay,
- 11:13Speaker 4: but I moved with my dad and his girlfriend. Yeah,
- 11:17Speaker 4: I moved my dad and his girlfriend, Wilhelmina. Shout out
- 11:19Speaker 4: to Wilhelmina, who took very good care of me. But
- 11:21Speaker 4: my daddy messed around and shed off for a girl
- 11:25Speaker 4: that couldn't cook noodles and Willamna used to cook all
- 11:31Speaker 4: kinds of meals and everything. But she took me in.
- 11:34Speaker 3: What did your what was your dad's feelings about your
- 11:37Speaker 3: mom passing? And put a little all here because if
- 11:40Speaker 3: you don't mind me asking my dad, like what was
- 11:43Speaker 3: his feeling? Like what was that talk like between you
- 11:45Speaker 3: and him with your mom passing?
- 11:47Speaker 2: Like?
- 11:49Speaker 3: Who was that talk?
- 11:50Speaker 2: Oh?
- 11:51Speaker 4: Oh that talk? He the one came in there and
- 11:54Speaker 4: told me he didn't want to tell me.
- 11:55Speaker 2: He was like, be he didn't want to tell me.
- 12:00Speaker 4: He was like son, he came in there and he
- 12:03Speaker 4: was like, I was like, Daddy, you talk to mama today?
- 12:07Speaker 4: You heard anything about Mama said, yeah, I talked to
- 12:09Speaker 4: mister John Wish is my mom my grandma husband? At
- 12:11Speaker 4: the time, I said, what do the doctor say so
- 12:13Speaker 4: my mama had already passed all day, but I didn't know.
- 12:16Speaker 4: And he was like, they say, they say, they say,
- 12:23Speaker 4: she ain't make it, son, and then they bust out.
- 12:25Speaker 4: He bust out crying. I bust out crying. So I
- 12:29Speaker 4: think he felt a lot of goold after that. You know,
- 12:30Speaker 4: you started thinking about what he could have did different
- 12:32Speaker 4: and all that, because, uh, when.
- 12:35Speaker 2: She said she was sick, he could have took her
- 12:37Speaker 2: to a gusta.
- 12:38Speaker 4: She went to the because she went to the hospital
- 12:40Speaker 4: the days before the stroke.
- 12:43Speaker 2: She told him she had a nerve.
- 12:45Speaker 4: She told him her head was hurt, and she went
- 12:46Speaker 4: to our hometown with small home time three three thousand people.
- 12:49Speaker 4: They told her that, uh, that's a nerve of your nick.
- 12:54Speaker 4: She came home and took that. She said, it ain't
- 12:56Speaker 4: no nerve, something on my head. But he left when
- 12:58Speaker 4: she was sick.
- 13:00Speaker 3: Oh, like he saw her that day.
- 13:01Speaker 4: Yeah, he was at the house the first day she
- 13:03Speaker 4: was sick. But you know kindsight, Yeah, he like, man,
- 13:09Speaker 4: she's sick. You know sometimes people sick, you know you
- 13:12Speaker 4: don't want to be around. But she was sicker than
- 13:15Speaker 4: what she was what she was putting on.
- 13:18Speaker 3: So he cried, and you cried.
- 13:20Speaker 2: He cried, and I cried, but we cried, okay.
- 13:23Speaker 3: And then he took you to live with him.
- 13:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I stayed there. I stayed there.
- 13:28Speaker 3: So how long were you with them for?
- 13:30Speaker 4: That was December. I stayed all the way to the
- 13:33Speaker 4: end of the year. But when I came back that summer,
- 13:38Speaker 4: he was gone.
- 13:39Speaker 3: What do you mean gone?
- 13:40Speaker 2: I couldn't find them.
- 13:41Speaker 3: Wait, so you went to December? And then where'd you
- 13:44Speaker 3: go for that year?
- 13:45Speaker 2: After that summer? I went to my cousin's house in Atlanta. Okay,
- 13:48Speaker 2: I went.
- 13:48Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying, where's your sisters? You're not
- 13:50Speaker 3: meeting up with them?
- 13:51Speaker 2: Or they was up there too. We used to go every.
- 13:53Speaker 3: Summer, okay, but they were still also staying with your grandma.
- 13:58Speaker 4: Yep in Atlanta to no, in Milan. We used to
- 14:03Speaker 4: go to Atlanta for We're back in Milan at this point.
- 14:06Speaker 2: My mom died when we was in Milan.
- 14:10Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, So then what happens you come back? He's gone.
- 14:16Speaker 3: You don't know where he is. You can't pick up
- 14:17Speaker 3: the phone to find him.
- 14:18Speaker 2: That was fifth grade. I ain't see him again into
- 14:20Speaker 2: a grade.
- 14:22Speaker 3: What were you weren't wondering what happened to him?
- 14:24Speaker 2: Shoot, he was running? Is that?
- 14:27Speaker 3: Was that like normal in your town? Or like, how
- 14:28Speaker 3: are you.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Dealing with his name? Oh? So he always skipped town
- 14:33Speaker 2: on you.
- 14:33Speaker 3: Okay, so you were at this point you're used to
- 14:35Speaker 3: your dad being in and out.
- 14:37Speaker 2: Yeah, but he disappeared. He was good.
- 14:39Speaker 4: He played the best hide and seek hide and seek player.
- 14:42Speaker 4: He needed a trophy.
- 14:43Speaker 3: Okay, So who is like taking care of you full time?
- 14:46Speaker 2: Like?
- 14:46Speaker 3: Who do you have to look up to back?
- 14:48Speaker 2: I'm back. I'm back with my grandma at this point,
- 14:49Speaker 2: I moved back with her and.
- 14:50Speaker 3: My sister's okay, so she's mentoring you, Like who's who's
- 14:55Speaker 3: who's looking out for you?
- 14:56Speaker 2: Mentoring? Oh? Man? At this point is me and the
- 15:00Speaker 2: holdest spirit. I had to raise myself.
- 15:02Speaker 3: Okay, But then what age did you start having children?
- 15:06Speaker 2: I started having them as a team, like fifteen sixteen, but.
- 15:11Speaker 4: They them kids ain't make it the first ones. Okay,
- 15:16Speaker 4: bray mama had a miscarried.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Okay, so you start having kids, you're in high school,
- 15:36Speaker 1: At what point do you start thinking about entertainment or
- 15:39Speaker 1: comedy entertainment?
- 15:44Speaker 4: I kind of knew I was gonna be an entertainment early,
- 15:47Speaker 4: but not as a job that I still want to thinking.
- 15:49Speaker 2: I was trying every once in a while. I knew
- 15:51Speaker 2: I could rap.
- 15:53Speaker 1: According to your book, I think it showed that you
- 15:55Speaker 1: were starting in comedy and club promotions.
- 15:58Speaker 2: Yeah, no, it was. It was coming it then starts
- 16:01Speaker 2: out of twenty seven. It was a club, it was
- 16:04Speaker 2: a club promotion.
- 16:05Speaker 3: So before that, you were doing what to make ends meet?
- 16:09Speaker 2: I was, I was selling them things.
- 16:11Speaker 1: He was a hustler, Yeah, okay, so okay, so you're
- 16:15Speaker 1: hustling now. I read your book, it seemed like you
- 16:19Speaker 1: were definitely destined to get out of hustling, Like as
- 16:21Speaker 1: much as you got in, you were focused on getting out.
- 16:24Speaker 4: Of course I don't. I didn't like it. I ain't
- 16:27Speaker 4: one of the ones that wanted to do it.
- 16:29Speaker 3: Okay, And you weren't flashy with it either. You just
- 16:32Speaker 3: wanted to get out.
- 16:33Speaker 4: I stayed fresh, you know what I'm saying. Everybody know
- 16:35Speaker 4: I had money, but I did that kind of to
- 16:37Speaker 4: promote my party. So I was really low key. I'm
- 16:42Speaker 4: lokey now, same person.
- 16:44Speaker 3: You're low key, but you you definitely got like a
- 16:47Speaker 3: diva in you think so, I mean, we don't check
- 16:51Speaker 3: with your whole team.
- 16:52Speaker 1: I mean they being hello kind to you, but I mean,
- 16:55Speaker 1: you know, when things aren't being said, you could see
- 16:58Speaker 1: like what's being said.
- 16:59Speaker 4: But say everybody on their peas and crew kings. I
- 17:01Speaker 4: just check on me, like everybody should check on themselves.
- 17:05Speaker 3: I want to say you're diva. I would say that
- 17:07Speaker 3: you have standards, and I like that. I respect that.
- 17:09Speaker 4: Yeah, when you don't, when you when you don't being low,
- 17:12Speaker 4: you get tired of being low.
- 17:13Speaker 2: You just want to be high.
- 17:15Speaker 3: Yeah, well I haven't experienced that the other side yet.
- 17:18Speaker 3: I'm still on the this side.
- 17:20Speaker 2: So I'm like this all day now.
- 17:22Speaker 4: I'm real detail because I had to become detailed because
- 17:25Speaker 4: my mom left me at a young age. So I
- 17:27Speaker 4: had to pick up because a woman is detailed. When
- 17:29Speaker 4: you got a mother, your mom gonna check the details
- 17:31Speaker 4: in your life. The father had the main things. But
- 17:34Speaker 4: with my mom being gone, I had to learn to
- 17:36Speaker 4: be my own self checker. So I'm like a mom
- 17:40Speaker 4: and I'm like, I'm just a caretaker for everybody.
- 17:45Speaker 3: When did you get into your walk with God? Officially?
- 17:48Speaker 4: Officially? Man like really went to them. I knew of
- 17:51Speaker 4: them when I was young, at six, I talked to God.
- 17:55Speaker 4: But when I was twenty twelve, I was twenty. I
- 18:00Speaker 4: was twenty five years old going on twenty six, and
- 18:02Speaker 4: I picked up that Bible and I ain't put it
- 18:04Speaker 4: down ever since. I read the Bible eight times. I'm
- 18:07Speaker 4: on my night trip. Every time I finished, I started
- 18:10Speaker 4: back over, read the page a.
- 18:12Speaker 2: Day and go all the way through it.
- 18:13Speaker 4: So, yeah, twenty twelve, ever since then, I ain't in playing.
- 18:18Speaker 3: But what was the thing that triggered you to pick
- 18:21Speaker 3: it up?
- 18:22Speaker 4: I was winning in the wrong world. I was selling drugs,
- 18:26Speaker 4: had the reperplies coming. I'm knowing the streets. The girls
- 18:30Speaker 4: like me, they celebrate me, but I'm like, I know
- 18:32Speaker 4: they ending to this store. My daddy got caught up
- 18:35Speaker 4: in the streets, my mama got caught up in the streets,
- 18:37Speaker 4: my uncles and everybody. So I'm like, I'm going to prison.
- 18:40Speaker 4: Because I wasn't on drugs. I knew I was going
- 18:42Speaker 4: to prison, So like, man, I got to this ain't right.
- 18:47Speaker 1: But then you actually picked up the real Bible. Some
- 18:49Speaker 1: people go to church when they don't feel right.
- 18:51Speaker 4: Now, Yeah, I picked up the Bible because the church
- 18:53Speaker 4: wasn't good advertising. What do you mean now, I ain't
- 18:56Speaker 4: see too many people I knew from what I see
- 19:00Speaker 4: open church, like going to church and really find the answer.
- 19:04Speaker 4: So I'm like, man, let me read this for myself.
- 19:07Speaker 4: So I wanted because as a dope boy, we want
- 19:09Speaker 4: to go to the plug. We don't want to go
- 19:10Speaker 4: through the middle of man.
- 19:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:12Speaker 4: So when I used to see the proud stuff there
- 19:14Speaker 4: in the word, I say, I want to get to
- 19:16Speaker 4: what he got because he getting what he got, he
- 19:18Speaker 4: telling to all of us. But this word can't fit everybody,
- 19:21Speaker 4: all us going to do different things at different times.
- 19:23Speaker 4: So this, this scripture might hit him more today but
- 19:27Speaker 4: than me.
- 19:28Speaker 2: But I had to go pick it off for myself.
- 19:30Speaker 3: Okay.
- 19:32Speaker 1: So now that you exit the let's start from when
- 19:36Speaker 1: you exited the hustle game and you're going full time
- 19:39Speaker 1: into what exactly is your transition?
- 19:43Speaker 2: Oh? Had I started getting the nightclubs?
- 19:46Speaker 3: Okay? And then you start you.
- 19:47Speaker 2: Owned one right own your own two of them? Okay.
- 19:51Speaker 1: So let's start with you promoting it, Like, at what
- 19:53Speaker 1: point do you realize? What point do you say, Okay,
- 19:56Speaker 1: I can officially end the hustle.
- 19:58Speaker 4: Business, and shoot, I ain't in that until I started
- 20:02Speaker 4: getting booked for shows for comedy.
- 20:05Speaker 2: Oh so while I was going viral online, I was
- 20:07Speaker 2: still hustling.
- 20:09Speaker 3: What year did you go viral? Start going viral?
- 20:11Speaker 4: Twenty fourteen October? But I ain't stop hustling till January
- 20:15Speaker 4: twenty sixteen, okay.
- 20:17Speaker 1: And then you started getting into the word in twenty
- 20:20Speaker 1: and twelve, you said, got on twelve. Okay, so your
- 20:22Speaker 1: life starts transitioning.
- 20:23Speaker 4: Start transitioning. I wasn't there yet. Oh, I remember, and
- 20:26Speaker 4: I felt bad. I'm like, I don't reading this Bible
- 20:28Speaker 4: and I'm still hustling. And I remember this laid across
- 20:30Speaker 4: the street of the project with me. Her name was missing,
- 20:33Speaker 4: and she said, Wayne, you know God got to call
- 20:35Speaker 4: him on your life. I said yeah, but she ain't
- 20:38Speaker 4: know what I was doing. I said, yeah, but what
- 20:39Speaker 4: if you keep calling me? But I got something else
- 20:41Speaker 4: going on? She said, whatever you get us got going on?
- 20:44Speaker 4: These were hers that word.
- 20:45Speaker 2: She said, you can't stop right now.
- 20:48Speaker 4: I say, She said that don't mean you're gonna stop
- 20:50Speaker 4: right now, but God gonna get you out there, because
- 20:51Speaker 4: whatever you're doing, I can't tell. She said, you don't
- 20:54Speaker 4: got no bunch of people coming to your house. She
- 20:55Speaker 4: knew what I was talking about she said, God don't
- 20:57Speaker 4: kill where you're at. He only care where he's gonna
- 20:59Speaker 4: take you.
- 21:00Speaker 3: I agree with that. I agree with that.
- 21:02Speaker 1: When I first became Christian, it was uh yeah, yeah.
- 21:06Speaker 1: Well at least I announced it too, which was my mistake.
- 21:08Speaker 1: But I'm brought up Jewish, so Jesus was a whole
- 21:12Speaker 1: new concept.
- 21:14Speaker 3: Okay, let's see this hot dog? Does it look does
- 21:17Speaker 3: that cooked all the way?
- 21:19Speaker 2: Yeah? I forked it.
- 21:21Speaker 3: You forked it, all right, guys, this is what a
- 21:23Speaker 3: big hot dog looks like, just so you know. So
- 21:27Speaker 3: I just want to know exactly the pivotal pivotal moments.
- 21:31Speaker 3: What is it hot?
- 21:33Speaker 2: It definitely is pretending like it ain.
- 21:35Speaker 1: Oh, you need a a hotholder.
- 21:39Speaker 3: Just use napkins for now.
- 21:40Speaker 2: Thanks appreciate.
- 21:42Speaker 3: I can't believe those don't even have nice handles.
- 21:45Speaker 2: Yeah, it's cheek kin, It's cool. I love you, Country,
- 21:53Speaker 2: I love you.
- 21:53Speaker 1: Too, all right, But I'm really trying to get to
- 21:56Speaker 1: like pivotal moments in your in your career, in your
- 22:01Speaker 1: journey that kept transitioning you to the next stay.
- 22:04Speaker 3: So I hate to I feel like.
- 22:06Speaker 1: I'm pulling it out of you, but I kind of
- 22:08Speaker 1: wish you would just kind of tell me your story.
- 22:10Speaker 2: Well the story.
- 22:11Speaker 4: Well, twenty twelve I picked up the Bible. I was
- 22:14Speaker 4: still hustling. Twenty fourteen, I went viral with the comedy
- 22:20Speaker 4: and I got in the same time.
- 22:22Speaker 2: I went viral, went viral October.
- 22:24Speaker 4: My club opened December twenty fourteen, my first night club.
- 22:27Speaker 2: So now don't get legit.
- 22:28Speaker 3: Everything going good, and you got your own liquor license
- 22:31Speaker 3: and everything. You did all that on your own.
- 22:33Speaker 4: On the second club I did. The first club, I
- 22:35Speaker 4: had a partner. Okay, the guy used to throw parties
- 22:37Speaker 4: at his club shout.
- 22:38Speaker 2: Out to Hollywood.
- 22:38Speaker 4: His name was Hollywood, and I used to always say,
- 22:41Speaker 4: I'm a partner with Hollywood because his name was Hollywood.
- 22:43Speaker 2: So I knew I was going to God was giving
- 22:45Speaker 2: me signs along the way. And yeah, so that club
- 22:50Speaker 2: jumped off. I'm popular online.
- 22:52Speaker 4: I'm going crazy, but still it ain't out yet, cause
- 22:56Speaker 4: you know. And then I started doing those comedy shows,
- 22:58Speaker 4: and then sixteen I quit.
- 23:01Speaker 2: And in the day I quit, you quit hustling. I
- 23:04Speaker 2: quit hustling. I said, I'm going to jit do this
- 23:06Speaker 2: comedy thing for real. And this day I quit.
- 23:09Speaker 4: The FIDS came to my house knocking on the door
- 23:13Speaker 4: the next day, Wow for.
- 23:16Speaker 3: You, Like, hey, guys, your dates?
- 23:19Speaker 2: Like God, like I thought I was going to prison.
- 23:21Speaker 4: I was like, man, God, I quit yesterday, like you know,
- 23:27Speaker 4: I thought the angels in heaven told you.
- 23:30Speaker 2: What's going on.
- 23:32Speaker 3: But you're really not gonna eat these beans? I love it.
- 23:35Speaker 2: I ain't gonna. I'm gonna going mad for you though.
- 23:39Speaker 3: Okay, thank you.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Well, since we're being a stickler, I hope at home
- 23:45Speaker 1: when you're using teflon plots you you don't use metal, No,
- 23:49Speaker 1: don't you don't.
- 23:50Speaker 2: This all y'all head, I use water, you know.
- 23:54Speaker 1: Okay, we're gonna try countries, baked beans and hot dogs
- 23:58Speaker 1: the vegan original. I'm gonna try the hot dog. Separate,
- 24:02Speaker 1: try this together. Last time I made these, these words
- 24:06Speaker 1: did not come out right.
- 24:07Speaker 2: So let's see. Yeah. Sorry, but you're gonna pray.
- 24:12Speaker 4: God, praying for the salt get out of God is good.
- 24:14Speaker 4: God is great, God, my father in heaven, our life.
- 24:17Speaker 2: For you to.
- 24:19Speaker 4: Let us taste the nutrients in this food. Father, let
- 24:22Speaker 4: this salt fisture through us and go on out. And
- 24:26Speaker 4: and I thank you, look God for allowing us to
- 24:28Speaker 4: have something to eat follow first of all, and men,
- 24:30Speaker 4: Colleen here to be able to experience this together.
- 24:35Speaker 2: And this back in the day meal. Take me back
- 24:37Speaker 2: to your son Jesus name.
- 24:39Speaker 3: Amen, Amen we go. Okay, you made it a little
- 24:48Speaker 3: better than mine. But I'm still good on vegan hot dogs.
- 24:53Speaker 3: I'm good If I never eat a vegan hot dog again,
- 24:58Speaker 3: I'm straight.
- 24:58Speaker 2: It's just disappeared quick. It's the texture.
- 25:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I told Katie Katie back there, I was like, Haiti, Yeah,
- 25:07Speaker 1: them hot dogs just they're.
- 25:08Speaker 3: Not for me. I want to switch to vegan. I
- 25:11Speaker 3: wish there was a way I could do it where
- 25:12Speaker 3: it tastes like the restaurants in La.
- 25:14Speaker 2: You just got to start live in it.
- 25:18Speaker 4: I mean, you know, eat and live and not living
- 25:20Speaker 4: to eat. I taste buds and train. So if you
- 25:23Speaker 4: get off food for a minute, matter of fact, when
- 25:26Speaker 4: you tell your brain you serious about it, it changes.
- 25:28Speaker 2: Your taste buds for you.
- 25:30Speaker 4: Yeah, because you could trick everybody but your mind. It's
- 25:34Speaker 4: because the only way you trick your mind is do
- 25:36Speaker 4: a substance. That's why I only pick people can trick
- 25:38Speaker 4: their mind is when they do a drug. But if
- 25:40Speaker 4: you're going to be sober, when you're serious about something
- 25:43Speaker 4: your brain or transform your body for the situation that
- 25:46Speaker 4: you're going to Yeah, so if.
- 25:49Speaker 2: You really want to do it, but you don't, you
- 25:50Speaker 2: ain't gonna want to do it because you ain't.
- 25:53Speaker 4: You got to really see the benefits of it, for real.
- 25:55Speaker 4: Nobody don't really see the benefits.
- 25:57Speaker 3: Well, I'll tell you this.
- 25:58Speaker 1: I'm actually allergic to red med and officially I can't
- 26:01Speaker 1: eat pork anymore. So I'm like at this point where
- 26:03Speaker 1: all I do is I'll eat chicken or fish. But
- 26:07Speaker 1: but at this point, I do want to switch to vegan,
- 26:10Speaker 1: but I haven't, Like I said, I don't have the
- 26:12Speaker 1: culinary background to do it. Ving in La, the vegan
- 26:17Speaker 1: food out here is amazing, So it's like to go
- 26:20Speaker 1: from eating that good food. So like, whatever I'm going
- 26:23Speaker 1: to make, it's going to be hard.
- 26:24Speaker 2: It's hard.
- 26:25Speaker 4: But we all, like I figured that out, you know,
- 26:28Speaker 4: we're all allergic to that food. That's why we all
- 26:31Speaker 4: have a breakout. We think when we go to the
- 26:33Speaker 4: doctor black, Oh, the doctors, I got to take this.
- 26:35Speaker 4: It's because our body is allergic to all the food.
- 26:37Speaker 4: So we're just getting medicine for all the simpling.
- 26:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I just saw something on Netflix. I didn't click
- 26:42Speaker 1: on it, but the guy was like walking through the
- 26:44Speaker 1: produce aile and he was like, do you see how
- 26:46Speaker 1: much cross contamination that there is?
- 26:47Speaker 3: And I was just like, the last thing I want.
- 26:50Speaker 1: To think about is like choosing vegetables and thinking how
- 26:52Speaker 1: much contamination is already on it.
- 26:54Speaker 4: Yeah, but hey, but I tell people, if you gonna
- 26:57Speaker 4: eat food, enjoy your food. Stop looking at the bad
- 27:00Speaker 4: and feeling guilty about it, because they ain't no use
- 27:03Speaker 4: of you feeling guilty and stretching yourself out.
- 27:05Speaker 2: If you're gonna eat it, you might as well enjoy it.
- 27:07Speaker 3: I like knowing the truth.
- 27:09Speaker 4: Well, but I feel you feel I'm just ain't one
- 27:12Speaker 4: of them vegans. You know, everybody vegans be trying to
- 27:14Speaker 4: tell every but I'm like, bro, I just live it.
- 27:16Speaker 4: And some people who follow me they switch it because
- 27:19Speaker 4: they've seen the results. But it's like that food, man,
- 27:23Speaker 4: it's a business.
- 27:25Speaker 2: It's the number one drug.
- 27:26Speaker 4: My boy Translitt told me one time, man a burse
- 27:29Speaker 4: and I told him that was the hardest version ever spit.
- 27:31Speaker 4: He say, drive throughs are killing more people than drive bys.
- 27:35Speaker 4: So they got us focused on the wrong thing and
- 27:37Speaker 4: we change what we put in us the world to
- 27:40Speaker 4: change because everything is altered, you know. They say the
- 27:44Speaker 4: they said, now say, whatever food you eat, you get
- 27:47Speaker 4: the characteristic go to animal. That's why most people got
- 27:51Speaker 4: anxiety because they eat chicken, because the chicken always looking
- 27:54Speaker 4: a chicken always thinking something. Come to get it, like, oh,
- 27:56Speaker 4: boy's a black person can come around here and tet
- 27:59Speaker 4: me up.
- 28:00Speaker 2: And then a pig is greedy.
- 28:02Speaker 4: When you eat pork, you never get enough of nothing.
- 28:05Speaker 4: I want to get this much out of this deal.
- 28:06Speaker 4: I want to do this.
- 28:08Speaker 2: You never stop because a pig never stops.
- 28:10Speaker 3: Okay. And then when you eat vegan, what happens to you?
- 28:12Speaker 4: You become a plant because you ain't got the energy.
- 28:15Speaker 4: See a plant vegan is like smoking weed. Weed is
- 28:19Speaker 4: a plant. It really you get less innery. They say,
- 28:23Speaker 4: you get more energy. No, you don't have time for
- 28:25Speaker 4: the bs because when you eat a lot of that food,
- 28:28Speaker 4: they got so many stir bolls and stuff. You have energy,
- 28:30Speaker 4: too much energy. So it's like giving a child one
- 28:33Speaker 4: hundred dollars to sending and going to the candy store.
- 28:36Speaker 4: But when a vegan, you become more like a plant.
- 28:38Speaker 4: You be kind of cool and vibing because you, like,
- 28:40Speaker 4: I ain't got all the energy to be talking.
- 28:41Speaker 2: All day and what you're talking about, like you be chilling.
- 28:44Speaker 1: Well, I just hope I have the same swagger when
- 28:46Speaker 1: I do make this official transition.
- 28:49Speaker 3: But it's gonna be. I want to like learn more
- 28:51Speaker 3: on how to cook basics.
- 28:52Speaker 2: You're gonna do it, gonna come to you.
- 28:54Speaker 3: Yeah, we'll see because I love butter do I like
- 28:58Speaker 3: cooking everything in butter. But whatever, we'll see, we shall see.
- 29:01Speaker 1: Start with vegetarian, baby, So take me, take me to
- 29:04Speaker 1: so now that your plate has gotten a good c
- 29:07Speaker 1: plus at best, had had anything with meat him? No, No,
- 29:12Speaker 1: I forgot to boil my chicken and the mug. Why
- 29:16Speaker 1: don't you just get your Let me just say, guys,
- 29:19Speaker 1: I pray for all the women that have to go on.
- 29:21Speaker 3: A date with Wayne.
- 29:22Speaker 2: And that's what I'm single man.
- 29:24Speaker 1: I have to cook for him, because if I had
- 29:26Speaker 1: to cook for him, I would just hire a professional
- 29:29Speaker 1: chef to come to my house and I put it
- 29:31Speaker 1: in plates like I cooked because I wouldn't even want to.
- 29:33Speaker 2: Deal with it.
- 29:34Speaker 4: That's why I can't talk that why I can't be
- 29:36Speaker 4: in no relationship with one woman where.
- 29:38Speaker 3: You could just be with a chef. I thought that
- 29:42Speaker 3: was the plan.
- 29:42Speaker 2: I tried to find alf.
- 29:43Speaker 4: I ain't gonna lie every shelf, every beacon, shep, I've
- 29:45Speaker 4: been looking at it. I'd be like trying to get
- 29:47Speaker 4: him a chance for I don't care how they look.
- 29:49Speaker 4: Sometimes I'd be like, man, I'm just I want I
- 29:51Speaker 4: ain't gonna lie. I do want a woman because when
- 29:54Speaker 4: you when you take it, when you when two people
- 29:56Speaker 4: eat two different ways, it's hard to you take away
- 29:58Speaker 4: the date in life.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Because what we're gonna go on dates when you're going if.
- 30:03Speaker 1: You eat two different ways and you eat vegan and
- 30:04Speaker 1: I eat, mean we could just go eat vegan.
- 30:07Speaker 2: But you ain't gonna enjoy it like me.
- 30:09Speaker 3: I enjoy well enjoy vegan in l A. I don't
- 30:12Speaker 3: know how I meant.
- 30:13Speaker 2: No colorfower weeds you over that.
- 30:17Speaker 3: No, I was just getting Lasania or something.
- 30:19Speaker 1: They have good vegan, But you ain't gonna enjoy it
- 30:21Speaker 1: like me, though, So you don't know that I know
- 30:24Speaker 1: for sure. But I mean, thank god I'm not on
- 30:26Speaker 1: the dating block of Wayne, because I would hate to
- 30:28Speaker 1: get that.
- 30:29Speaker 2: You deal with that. I'm a good man to day.
- 30:32Speaker 2: I'm your type.
- 30:34Speaker 3: We're gonna stay on track this, Okay.
- 30:37Speaker 2: Love asking Am I your type?
- 30:39Speaker 3: Are you my type? I don't know. It takes a
- 30:41Speaker 3: lot to be my type.
- 30:43Speaker 1: I'd say, like my type has evolved the more Amy
- 30:46Speaker 1: and I have talked about this.
- 30:47Speaker 2: But you know it ain't.
- 30:48Speaker 4: Ain't another man like me in the world. I know
- 30:49Speaker 4: people gonna be offended by this, but I'm starting to
- 30:51Speaker 4: speak more. I'm getting older and I ain't got time
- 30:53Speaker 4: to make people feel better. I ain't no man like
- 30:55Speaker 4: Wayne in the world.
- 30:55Speaker 3: That's how I feel about myself.
- 30:57Speaker 2: Yeah. So well, I'm just saying, I'm just letting you know.
- 31:01Speaker 2: That's the truth though.
- 31:02Speaker 3: Okay, but this is you say that, but then you
- 31:05Speaker 3: say you're also like need.
- 31:06Speaker 1: Multiple women, and you just said that you need a
- 31:10Speaker 1: different woman that could cook.
- 31:11Speaker 2: I'm a comedian.
- 31:13Speaker 3: Okay. So now that we've tried your dish and it's.
- 31:18Speaker 1: Decent, ladies, just in case you wanted to cook for you,
- 31:20Speaker 1: it's decent.
- 31:21Speaker 2: Okay, I ain't cooking for you anyway, but.
- 31:25Speaker 3: He'll cook for somebody special. She's gonna get some grits
- 31:28Speaker 3: and eggs.
- 31:29Speaker 2: Well, no eggs, No I got vecany eggs.
- 31:36Speaker 3: There's such thing as vegan eggs. It's like the.
- 31:39Speaker 1: Little poor and like a McDonald's when you you never
- 31:42Speaker 1: worked at McDonald's.
- 31:44Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, they have it in a cart and m
- 31:47Speaker 3: fake eggs. Got it. I'm sure it's great.
- 31:50Speaker 2: Yeah, it's great.
- 31:52Speaker 3: Okay, So take me back.
- 31:53Speaker 1: So your mom has now passed, your father has now disappeared.
- 31:59Speaker 1: You're back at home with your grandma and she's raising you.
- 32:02Speaker 3: Guys.
- 32:02Speaker 1: You I'm just recapping. So at this point, you.
- 32:07Speaker 3: Are hustling, and God is now in your spirit, and
- 32:12Speaker 3: you're you're more knowledgeable of God because you are reading
- 32:15Speaker 3: the Bible now, and now the Feds have just shown
- 32:20Speaker 3: up at your door a day after you quit, and
- 32:24Speaker 3: what is going on through.
- 32:25Speaker 4: Your mind at this point? I'm good. I finally made
- 32:30Speaker 4: it because I was a legit. You know, me and
- 32:33Speaker 4: my daddy was hustling together.
- 32:34Speaker 2: So they came.
- 32:35Speaker 4: I thought it was looking for me, but it was
- 32:37Speaker 4: actually looking for him, your dad, my dad, So my dad.
- 32:40Speaker 4: They got my dad and I told him were good.
- 32:44Speaker 4: So I was head started doing a comedy thing and
- 32:46Speaker 4: I'm legit. So now I finally feel like I broke
- 32:48Speaker 4: the family.
- 32:49Speaker 3: Curse, which was what the hustling and the drugs.
- 32:53Speaker 4: All my family the dead drugs sold drugs. Everybody went
- 32:55Speaker 4: to prison. So I broke the curse of finally finding
- 32:58Speaker 4: something legit that was successful and I feel like I
- 33:02Speaker 4: could change my family life. So it was the comedy.
- 33:04Speaker 4: So I was on my journey of being legit and
- 33:05Speaker 4: I felt brand new.
- 33:07Speaker 3: Okay, what was the initial thing that sparked you into comedy?
- 33:10Speaker 2: Like?
- 33:10Speaker 3: What was that thing that said, Okay, I'm gonna go
- 33:11Speaker 3: out and try this.
- 33:12Speaker 4: I see I seen everybody doing it on buying. I
- 33:14Speaker 4: seen DC y'all fly, and to be honest, I said,
- 33:17Speaker 4: DC y'all fly. One day in Atlanta, he was coming
- 33:19Speaker 4: up and I was promoting parties back home, so I
- 33:22Speaker 4: was like, man, I want to pay you to come
- 33:23Speaker 4: to a party. And I remember some girls seeing DC
- 33:26Speaker 4: walking up and they was like, you know who that
- 33:28Speaker 4: is And I had a pocket full of money. They're like,
- 33:30Speaker 4: that's DC young Fly And it was a manual Hudson.
- 33:32Speaker 4: I'm like, man, hold up, man, these girls looking at comedians,
- 33:37Speaker 4: I'm like, so I knew the era of being a
- 33:39Speaker 4: guy with the money and the swag was getting comedians
- 33:43Speaker 4: were starting to get I was like, oh, man, I
- 33:46Speaker 4: could do that easier than anything.
- 33:47Speaker 3: You're hilarious. So was the girls. Girl girls, girl.
- 33:50Speaker 2: Ya yo yo blit. See.
- 33:53Speaker 4: Women always been my weakness, but they always been my
- 33:57Speaker 4: strength because God, I say, I take care of you
- 34:01Speaker 4: and yours weakness. That's why I tell everybody just do
- 34:03Speaker 4: your strength. Don't worry about your weakness because God gonna
- 34:06Speaker 4: help you in that area. But it was the women.
- 34:09Speaker 4: It always sparked a lot of moves I made. It
- 34:13Speaker 4: wouldn't for because I wanted the women. But I've seen
- 34:15Speaker 4: women were starting to go towards day. I was an
- 34:18Speaker 4: entertainment baing, so I'm like, dangn comedy finna be yeah
- 34:21Speaker 4: the thing?
- 34:22Speaker 1: Yeah, but now the comedy on Vine was different than
- 34:25Speaker 1: your So I always say that influencers are different type
- 34:29Speaker 1: of comedian than actual comics because a lot of the
- 34:33Speaker 1: influencers different from the way you tape your stuff is
- 34:37Speaker 1: they do a lot of edit, so they cut at it.
- 34:39Speaker 1: You know, the six second clip. That was a very
- 34:41Speaker 1: hard accomplishment for that type of comedy. But if you
- 34:44Speaker 1: take those same influencers with the exception of DC, because
- 34:48Speaker 1: DC is a definite raw talent, with the exception of that,
- 34:51Speaker 1: and you take those same guys.
- 34:52Speaker 3: You put them on stage.
- 34:53Speaker 2: They can't hold as are everybody can't do that stage.
- 34:56Speaker 3: So instead of looking at what DC was doing online,
- 34:59Speaker 3: you said, all right, I see him in person and
- 35:01Speaker 3: he's doing stand up comedy.
- 35:02Speaker 2: He wasn't even stand up. I was just feeling to
- 35:04Speaker 2: do online.
- 35:05Speaker 3: I would oh, you were trying to do online too.
- 35:07Speaker 4: I wouldn't do it yet, But that's what sparked me
- 35:09Speaker 4: to go do it on the line online. But you know,
- 35:11Speaker 4: we just went back a little bit to twenty fourteen.
- 35:14Speaker 4: What sparked me to get into it, but what starpd
- 35:15Speaker 4: me to do stand up? That's what the fans kept
- 35:19Speaker 4: asking for. At first they was paying me to do
- 35:21Speaker 4: walk Through five thousand and six thousand, but then was like, man,
- 35:23Speaker 4: we want to see why ain't do stand up. I
- 35:26Speaker 4: was like, oh lord, I don't have a joke to tell.
- 35:29Speaker 4: So that was different. The stand up was different. But
- 35:31Speaker 4: I eventually had to take that chance and I started
- 35:34Speaker 4: hosting first.
- 35:35Speaker 1: Okay, you know it's so funny because I think be
- 35:38Speaker 1: Simone when she taped us, she said the same thing.
- 35:41Speaker 1: She said that her fans started kind of saying, hey,
- 35:44Speaker 1: I'll pay you to do comedy, and she was like, well,
- 35:46Speaker 1: how much and.
- 35:47Speaker 3: They offered her.
- 35:48Speaker 1: She was a shoot, I'll go out there and do
- 35:50Speaker 1: it and swing it, and then she started getting in
- 35:51Speaker 1: the comedy that way they some what her fans kept
- 35:54Speaker 1: telling her they liked.
- 35:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 35:55Speaker 4: So I didn't go out and get it at first
- 35:57Speaker 4: because I knew better, because I didn't want to be
- 35:58Speaker 4: known as not good, because yeah, I want I like
- 36:03Speaker 4: to stay up.
- 36:04Speaker 3: Okay.
- 36:04Speaker 4: So but but that stand up man I started. I
- 36:07Speaker 4: was always a comedy fan, so I put I learned.
- 36:09Speaker 4: I learned real quick, though, I figured it out fast,
- 36:12Speaker 4: like I started doing stand up. When I started, I
- 36:15Speaker 4: started May twenty fifteen with the first stand up gig.
- 36:18Speaker 4: I took like hosting, but by by that July I
- 36:22Speaker 4: had I had forty five minutes and by out of
- 36:25Speaker 4: out of forty five minutes, twenty five. But it was
- 36:27Speaker 4: real good, so I was I learned fast. Yes, I
- 36:30Speaker 4: learned fast.
- 36:31Speaker 3: Okay, So then you start booking your own shows from
- 36:34Speaker 3: there or where it gets out.
- 36:36Speaker 2: People were calling, people were calling and booking me.
- 36:38Speaker 4: They were calling and booking me, and I was getting like,
- 36:40Speaker 4: I'm making like thirty grand a month, but messed.
- 36:42Speaker 3: Around thirty grand a month off a new comic. Well,
- 36:45Speaker 3: how big was your following at the time?
- 36:47Speaker 2: Heck of me.
- 36:48Speaker 3: Okay, that's it.
- 36:49Speaker 4: And then what happened was August twenty sixteen, I got it.
- 36:57Speaker 4: I finally got in the company club and Richmond. I
- 36:59Speaker 4: had to Richmond, Virginia on a Tuesday, and I think
- 37:03Speaker 4: I went to Virginia Beach Funny Bone on the Wednesday.
- 37:07Speaker 4: It was right beside each other, and I made like
- 37:09Speaker 4: twenty grand. I said, oh my god, I'm about to
- 37:14Speaker 4: make a million dollars next year. So that motivated me
- 37:17Speaker 4: to really get good. So I was like, I got
- 37:34Speaker 4: to go ahead and get good at another level because
- 37:36Speaker 4: I didn't know you could make this in one week.
- 37:38Speaker 2: I made twenty grand in one week.
- 37:39Speaker 3: Yeah, that would have been a game changer for me.
- 37:41Speaker 1: Now, if I were to be a fly on your wall,
- 37:43Speaker 1: is your process when you get inspired like that to go,
- 37:46Speaker 1: oh man, I should do a heavy dive. Are you
- 37:48Speaker 1: pulling out like whiteboards or.
- 37:49Speaker 3: Do you have notebooks? Are you keeping notes on your phone?
- 37:51Speaker 2: Like?
- 37:52Speaker 3: How are you tracking that growth or aiming for that growth?
- 37:55Speaker 2: In my mind?
- 37:56Speaker 3: Okay, so nothing's been written down.
- 37:58Speaker 4: I never write anything down with in my mind. I
- 38:01Speaker 4: just had its goal and I see it and I
- 38:04Speaker 4: focus on it.
- 38:05Speaker 1: How much a long time do you spend with yourself
- 38:08Speaker 1: a lot in a day? Like do you is it
- 38:11Speaker 1: like a necessity to have some quiet time with yourself
- 38:13Speaker 1: or is it like you're always surrounded because even pulling
- 38:16Speaker 1: up here, you had like four people with you.
- 38:17Speaker 4: Even on with people, they know I'm not really there.
- 38:20Speaker 4: That's why they all check on everything. They don't allow
- 38:23Speaker 4: me to do nothing because everybody know I'm not really You're.
- 38:26Speaker 3: Not really fully present.
- 38:27Speaker 4: I'm not present. Okay, I'm never praisent. I'm always in
- 38:29Speaker 4: my head.
- 38:30Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, I can get that also.
- 38:33Speaker 1: Okay, So now that your career, your comedy career is
- 38:37Speaker 1: starting to take off, you're doing well, you have your
- 38:41Speaker 1: clubs going into the pandemic or they're nah, I've.
- 38:44Speaker 2: Been counseling them twenty sixteen, I let them go.
- 38:46Speaker 1: Did you cancel them because they weren't doing well or
- 38:48Speaker 1: they were starting to be like not worth the money,
- 38:51Speaker 1: not not.
- 38:51Speaker 4: Worth the money because people started fighting shooting there, and
- 38:53Speaker 4: when I wasn't there, I didn't want that.
- 38:56Speaker 2: I didn't want those problems.
- 38:57Speaker 1: So it was like risk versus reward wasn't worth it.
- 38:59Speaker 1: It wasn't worth it, Okay, So then pandemic happens.
- 39:02Speaker 2: Pandemic happened, game changed.
- 39:04Speaker 3: Tell me about it.
- 39:05Speaker 4: I went to social media because the stand up stop.
- 39:08Speaker 4: So I'm on this journey from stand up twenty fifteen,
- 39:10Speaker 4: sixteen seventy to eighteen nineteen twenty and then bam, it
- 39:13Speaker 4: took away from me. Yeah, so now I'm back to
- 39:15Speaker 4: where I was in the beginning. I gotta figure this out.
- 39:18Speaker 1: Now comedy comes to a complete hope. But your videos
- 39:22Speaker 1: at the time, how much money were they generating?
- 39:24Speaker 4: None when the pandemic first hit. So I started it
- 39:27Speaker 4: and then like pending Me hit in March that May,
- 39:30Speaker 4: I made like twenty seven thousand.
- 39:32Speaker 1: Off social social Okay, but that was your first chick Okay.
- 39:37Speaker 3: How did it just happen in March like that? Did
- 39:40Speaker 3: you just monetize the channels at that point.
- 39:43Speaker 4: Or I was about to start monetizing before the pandemic,
- 39:46Speaker 4: But when the pandemic hit, I put it. I sped up,
- 39:49Speaker 4: I sped up the processing. I started taking the serious
- 39:52Speaker 4: because I had to. Yeah, you know, that money kept
- 39:54Speaker 4: going up, and I seen the money. I was like, oh,
- 39:55Speaker 4: this is the easiest money ever made because it's residual.
- 39:59Speaker 4: You shoot the video, you put them up. You making
- 40:00Speaker 4: it like I'm making money while I'm talking right now.
- 40:02Speaker 4: So you know, we grew that thing from it was
- 40:05Speaker 4: making twenty seven thousand, and it went to four that.
- 40:08Speaker 2: Then it went to sisty.
- 40:09Speaker 4: Then I made a hundred, then it went to one
- 40:10Speaker 4: hundred to two hundred thousand a month, two three, three
- 40:13Speaker 4: hundred four, four hundred five seis if then it's kept
- 40:16Speaker 4: going and it's just keep going.
- 40:18Speaker 3: I'm curious.
- 40:18Speaker 1: So when money's coming in like that and you come
- 40:20Speaker 1: from being broke, was there a part of you that
- 40:23Speaker 1: started to say, well, I should save some or were
- 40:26Speaker 1: you like, money's coming in here, here's some for you,
- 40:28Speaker 1: here's some for you, here's some for you. Were you
- 40:30Speaker 1: just spending it or were you like kind of managing
- 40:34Speaker 1: it a certain way.
- 40:35Speaker 4: You're spending it, but I'm managing it like certain things
- 40:37Speaker 4: I had to do.
- 40:37Speaker 2: Man.
- 40:37Speaker 4: I got my house, got the cars, but I took
- 40:40Speaker 4: care my family. I got all my family off straight.
- 40:43Speaker 4: Because I thought about it. I said, either I save
- 40:45Speaker 4: this money and don't give them as much as I
- 40:49Speaker 4: give them and lead them in their environments. I say,
- 40:51Speaker 4: but if something happened to me and something happened to them,
- 40:54Speaker 4: the every dollar I got won't be worth it. So
- 40:57Speaker 4: I snatched my whole family and put them in a
- 40:59Speaker 4: bier the environment, so everybody stay around me.
- 41:01Speaker 2: The house is I did that first.
- 41:03Speaker 1: And when you say your family, you're not talking about
- 41:05Speaker 1: the family that you came from. You're talking about the
- 41:07Speaker 1: family that you also created, or you talking about both.
- 41:09Speaker 4: Both, Like my brother's the god you see me with
- 41:11Speaker 4: and my real brothers. Mike he became my brother, he
- 41:15Speaker 4: and my blood brother. But between first it was my family,
- 41:19Speaker 4: my brothers, my sisters, my baby mamas, my my kids,
- 41:24Speaker 4: just everybody who connected to that nucleus.
- 41:26Speaker 2: First.
- 41:27Speaker 4: Then I started meeting people like Mike Bred, Terry Amy.
- 41:32Speaker 4: You know what I'm saying, Just people that I want
- 41:33Speaker 4: to keep in my life forever. I'm like, man, you know,
- 41:36Speaker 4: I just I just it's like they because I learned
- 41:41Speaker 4: to grow a business, you got to have people.
- 41:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean a lot of people underestimate that HR
- 41:47Speaker 1: is the it's actually should be number one in any organization,
- 41:51Speaker 1: like your team, your people. I always tell people, if
- 41:55Speaker 1: you find a good person, like my team, knows like
- 41:58Speaker 1: they ain't leaving. I'll be like before with any discussions,
- 42:01Speaker 1: like they get first steps on anything they want, and
- 42:03Speaker 1: they should always feel comfortable come to me first because
- 42:06Speaker 1: I'm very open about how I feel about them. And
- 42:08Speaker 1: then the ones that I do want to get rid
- 42:10Speaker 1: of it, it don't take me too long to get rid
- 42:12Speaker 1: of them.
- 42:12Speaker 3: I'm very straightforward.
- 42:14Speaker 4: Like me too, I get rid of somebody now. I
- 42:16Speaker 4: don't got I don't find so many people. I don't, man,
- 42:19Speaker 4: I'm about that money. I ain't a lie like I
- 42:21Speaker 4: just I ain't got time to be out here playing
- 42:23Speaker 4: because money does things for people.
- 42:25Speaker 2: I'm fine.
- 42:27Speaker 4: But the fact that my family and people, man, we
- 42:30Speaker 4: ain't come from nothing. So to give them that experience
- 42:33Speaker 4: here in his life, hey man, I just enjoy it.
- 42:39Speaker 1: Yeah, well you've done a good job managing the money
- 42:41Speaker 1: and managing your gross. So take me to closer to
- 42:45Speaker 1: the Netflix special and what that deal? Like, how did
- 42:48Speaker 1: that deal come about?
- 42:49Speaker 4: And that deal came about? We was in talks, but
- 42:54Speaker 4: it can't you know. They finally they finally reached back
- 42:56Speaker 4: out and say we'll do it. And I couldn't really
- 42:59Speaker 4: discuss the deal. I remember my Layder' telling me this.
- 43:02Speaker 4: He said, the deal they gave me, they don't really
- 43:04Speaker 4: want me to take it because they were doing new
- 43:05Speaker 4: situations and so.
- 43:08Speaker 2: But for me, I knew that Netflix special was gonna
- 43:13Speaker 2: take me to.
- 43:14Speaker 4: A whole other level because I knew nobody ain't think
- 43:17Speaker 4: the Internet comic can really stand on the stage and
- 43:20Speaker 4: joke for joke for joke for joke for jokes. So
- 43:22Speaker 4: I was just like, this, what the game and waiting
- 43:25Speaker 4: on because they've been waiting on us, the coming the
- 43:27Speaker 4: game and waiting on one of us, the Internet people
- 43:29Speaker 4: to blow because it's like somebody else could shoot a
- 43:32Speaker 4: special feel it. But if it ain't me, DC on Fly,
- 43:35Speaker 4: Drew Ski, yeah, disit Banks, they want Callos, they want us.
- 43:40Speaker 4: So it's like it's like being with a man. Like
- 43:42Speaker 4: if you with a man, right, you want in another
- 43:44Speaker 4: man treat you better than the man you love.
- 43:46Speaker 2: You want the man you love to be the one exactly.
- 43:49Speaker 4: So I already knew if I get to this special,
- 43:52Speaker 4: I'm gonna shock the game because.
- 43:54Speaker 2: Nobody don't know I can do it.
- 43:55Speaker 4: Yes, And I knew, oh lord, I just knew that
- 43:59Speaker 4: was that was the most move.
- 44:01Speaker 2: I was proud of that.
- 44:03Speaker 4: I ain't mind spending the extra money get the Fantasia
- 44:05Speaker 4: song and spend it.
- 44:07Speaker 2: I didn't care.
- 44:07Speaker 1: About Oh you you were really in the details with it.
- 44:10Speaker 1: Oh I spent bread, Okay, I like that.
- 44:12Speaker 2: I didn't care what they get.
- 44:13Speaker 4: I spent money, you know, little things I wanted because
- 44:17Speaker 4: I knew this was gonna be I knew what.
- 44:20Speaker 2: It was gonna do.
- 44:22Speaker 1: Well, I don't want to backtrack, but I did kind
- 44:24Speaker 1: of skip over, and I do want to backtrack now.
- 44:26Speaker 1: When it came to the book, how long did it
- 44:29Speaker 1: take you to put that books in?
- 44:30Speaker 2: Oh? My god, a couple of years.
- 44:32Speaker 3: But were you working on it since what date?
- 44:34Speaker 2: Though?
- 44:34Speaker 3: Because it came out last Wait, you're in it came
- 44:37Speaker 3: out this year?
- 44:38Speaker 4: Yeah, this year, But I've been working on it since
- 44:40Speaker 4: twenty I got that book deal and we.
- 44:45Speaker 2: Started working on the twenty twenty.
- 44:46Speaker 3: So they approached you to write a book or were
- 44:48Speaker 3: you already like secretly.
- 44:49Speaker 4: My agency told me I'm gonna write a book. They say,
- 44:52Speaker 4: put it, put it to put together. We had to
- 44:55Speaker 4: write the samps, the simple the synopsis and all that.
- 44:59Speaker 4: You know what the book was gonna be about. So
- 45:01Speaker 4: I paid a writers. We got together and did that,
- 45:04Speaker 4: and then we were out of pitched it and we
- 45:06Speaker 4: pitched it and I got I got a book situation fast.
- 45:09Speaker 4: But then we had to go back and write the book.
- 45:10Speaker 4: That's a long process.
- 45:13Speaker 3: Okay, But did you sit around and actually write it
- 45:15Speaker 3: out or did you sit down?
- 45:16Speaker 4: I talked it out and she typed it out. So
- 45:18Speaker 4: I typed me and her talk for so many me
- 45:21Speaker 4: and me on like friends. Now he talks so much.
- 45:23Speaker 4: I probably never write a book again.
- 45:25Speaker 1: You know what, though, I will say this though, when
- 45:27Speaker 1: you read the book, it does read like that you
- 45:30Speaker 1: and uh, I like your book. I'm gonna say that
- 45:34Speaker 1: I wasn't really a big fan of Kevin Hart's book
- 45:36Speaker 1: because I just couldn't stand the way they wrote it,
- 45:38Speaker 1: Like you know, some books it's like that.
- 45:41Speaker 3: It was just it felt like he was talking to
- 45:42Speaker 3: me a little too.
- 45:43Speaker 1: Much, and I was like, man, I wish y'all would
- 45:46Speaker 1: have just put a little bit more of a writer's touch.
- 45:48Speaker 3: But on your book, it's a good balance. I like it.
- 45:52Speaker 3: I mean, you give women a lot of credits, so it's.
- 45:53Speaker 2: Hard not like that, and we ain't nothing without women.
- 45:56Speaker 2: They all everything.
- 45:59Speaker 1: So when you saw the edits on the Netflix special.
- 46:04Speaker 1: Were you by yourself when you watched it or who
- 46:07Speaker 1: were you with when.
- 46:08Speaker 3: You saw the final edits?
- 46:10Speaker 2: I was by myself.
- 46:11Speaker 1: Okay, so you did watch it first by yourself and
- 46:13Speaker 1: what was your immediate thoughts?
- 46:15Speaker 3: Were you critical?
- 46:17Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 46:17Speaker 4: I was. I was trying to be critical. I was like, man,
- 46:19Speaker 4: they need to show the audience because they were laughing
- 46:21Speaker 4: so loud. I was like, I don't want them to
- 46:22Speaker 4: think that's no laud track.
- 46:23Speaker 3: You're hilarious.
- 46:24Speaker 4: I was like, you know what I'm saying, but I
- 46:26Speaker 4: just knew. I say, man, this is finna change the game.
- 46:29Speaker 3: So then who was the next person you sends it
- 46:31Speaker 3: out to after you saw it?
- 46:33Speaker 4: I was showing that everybody that was around me, my brothers,
- 46:36Speaker 4: and they were seeing clips. I think I might seeing
- 46:39Speaker 4: it my agency seeing everybody seen it, but they were
- 46:42Speaker 4: there at the show, so we all knew. Anyway. We
- 46:44Speaker 4: all was like, my whole team knew. It's like I
- 46:49Speaker 4: suppose somebody hit another level of the team no before
- 46:51Speaker 4: the other. We're like, bro and the world just didn't know, Like,
- 46:54Speaker 4: ain't nobody from beat me in this comedy? Yeah, I
- 46:57Speaker 4: already I never looked at nobody and they skin heard
- 47:00Speaker 4: me a comedy. I don't look. When I was rapping
- 47:02Speaker 4: and I heard your third rap, they all it was
- 47:05Speaker 4: that passed me the hookah. He rolled the beat so good.
- 47:07Speaker 4: I'm like, I don't want to be no rapping no more.
- 47:10Speaker 4: Like I'm gonna out of the way. And I said, God
- 47:14Speaker 4: that you hit the guys wrap for comedy. Bro, I
- 47:16Speaker 4: just one thing, nobody never putting no car I knew
- 47:17Speaker 4: how funny. I knew how fun I was. Yes, I
- 47:21Speaker 4: just knew. I just that comforting. I ain't gonna lie
- 47:23Speaker 4: and and people took it as arrogance. A lot of
- 47:25Speaker 4: comedians like, I'm gonna make him earn it because he
- 47:29Speaker 4: don't go to nobody and ask nobody for nothing. It's
- 47:31Speaker 4: a few that reached out, you know what I'm saying,
- 47:32Speaker 4: shout out and said you're entertainer. He was one of
- 47:34Speaker 4: the ones that just reached out. First I went on tour,
- 47:36Speaker 4: Mike Elks, you know what I'm saying. Kevin Hart told
- 47:38Speaker 4: me straight up, he said, he said, I'm a fan
- 47:40Speaker 4: of you and you're hustle, but I can't be a
- 47:42Speaker 4: fan of you, ye because I haven't seen your stand up.
- 47:44Speaker 3: Oh wow.
- 47:44Speaker 2: And when the stand up dropped.
- 47:45Speaker 4: I started to tell him like, oh, no, you're a
- 47:47Speaker 4: fan now, hey, but I just I just knew, man,
- 47:50Speaker 4: I just knew.
- 47:51Speaker 3: So I know that the industry.
- 47:53Speaker 1: It's funny because I'll get different different walks of life
- 47:55Speaker 1: in here, and you can definitely hear an overwhelming sound
- 47:58Speaker 1: of the industry not respect influencers. And it's weird because
- 48:02Speaker 1: I feel like I'm friends with both sides and I'm like, influencers,
- 48:05Speaker 1: bless you. Influencers work extremely hard. But the is the
- 48:12Speaker 1: the I guess stereotype because I'm missing. The word that
- 48:16Speaker 1: I want to use is that you guys just have
- 48:18Speaker 1: it so instant.
- 48:20Speaker 2: And that's true.
- 48:21Speaker 4: That's true though, that's true, and it's like I get
- 48:25Speaker 4: what they're saying, but they got to pick. They can't
- 48:27Speaker 4: say about everybody because if you watch Country Wayne, I
- 48:30Speaker 4: did something different online than everybody.
- 48:33Speaker 2: I didn't do these little short clips.
- 48:35Speaker 3: No, you did like I do.
- 48:36Speaker 2: I still got to and it's still going on.
- 48:39Speaker 4: Everything in it don't add like I ain't it, And
- 48:46Speaker 4: I know that That's why my comfort I have to
- 48:47Speaker 4: be my own confidence because nobody won't see it when
- 48:51Speaker 4: you the truth.
- 48:51Speaker 2: The people ain't gonna never speak about the truth.
- 48:53Speaker 1: Well, I'm sure once the special drops, people are definitely
- 48:57Speaker 1: gonna be.
- 48:58Speaker 2: Man, they still gonna try to be silent.
- 48:59Speaker 4: But you it's like one thing about it though, where's
- 49:05Speaker 4: fargo talk men and live women. Lot numbers don't lie,
- 49:08Speaker 4: so the money ain't gonna lie.
- 49:10Speaker 2: So it's like I.
- 49:11Speaker 4: Don't really care for real to get people created of
- 49:13Speaker 4: God and told me what I am. When I need
- 49:15Speaker 4: to work on something God like you work on that,
- 49:17Speaker 4: I don't look like when I first started as a comedian, like,
- 49:20Speaker 4: oh I ain't that good yet. I look at Laville Crawford.
- 49:22Speaker 4: I can't do what he doing yet I was working.
- 49:25Speaker 4: But I'm like, they never gonna be the real one.
- 49:28Speaker 4: It's never gonna get the real credit from because it's
- 49:34Speaker 4: like if you call out the real it exupposed to
- 49:37Speaker 4: everybody who ain't working.
- 49:39Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 49:39Speaker 2: So when you when you real good, when you.
- 49:41Speaker 4: Real, real good at something, you have to be your
- 49:43Speaker 4: own cheerleader because if you too good, if you at
- 49:45Speaker 4: that level where you just too too much good about you,
- 49:48Speaker 4: it's too much talk. And people kind of like my
- 49:51Speaker 4: fan base when you go on my comments, it's like
- 49:53Speaker 4: we love Wayne. It's like it's like this thing, people like,
- 49:55Speaker 4: why he getting treated like that? So that's gonna come
- 49:58Speaker 4: with jealousy and to be honest when you're committ when
- 50:00Speaker 4: you anybody, if girls like you, that's what it's all about.
- 50:04Speaker 4: It it's the women when women like you, bro, and
- 50:07Speaker 4: you the dude that when you come around, women kind
- 50:09Speaker 4: of be like, well, women want my brothers.
- 50:12Speaker 2: Every guy that with me.
- 50:14Speaker 4: It is just everybody knows I got the women like
- 50:17Speaker 4: me and comedians and when you're a comedian, they never
- 50:20Speaker 4: seen the comedian really move like that. So it was
- 50:22Speaker 4: a lot of hate and jealousy. But I dealt with
- 50:24Speaker 4: that in high school. I fought in high school all
- 50:26Speaker 4: the time about the same situation. So what I learned
- 50:28Speaker 4: to do in this I'm like, brouh, I got no women,
- 50:31Speaker 4: so y'all can hate all y'all want, because the women
- 50:33Speaker 4: secretly support me. Ye anyway, So I didn't really That's
- 50:37Speaker 4: why the name My Special was a woman's prayer, because
- 50:40Speaker 4: if I wasn't that good, everybody be pushing me because
- 50:43Speaker 4: it's safe. It's like when a girl the guy she
- 50:45Speaker 4: don't like, she could be friends with him. It's like
- 50:48Speaker 4: that's my we cool but the guy that kind of
- 50:50Speaker 4: make her get that little butterflies. Oh it's it's like, yeah,
- 50:55Speaker 4: so you know this game for me, it been personal,
- 50:59Speaker 4: and I'm gonna keep like that. I'm gonna stay on
- 51:00Speaker 4: everybody nick And they don't know that I was competitive.
- 51:03Speaker 4: That's what they didn't know about me if they were
- 51:05Speaker 4: the people I keep notes. So everything somebody do to
- 51:07Speaker 4: me and they deal with, I go vegan, I drink
- 51:11Speaker 4: water because of competition.
- 51:13Speaker 3: I don't understand that.
- 51:14Speaker 4: Yeah, see that what I'm saying, I'm crazy. But basically,
- 51:17Speaker 4: I work on myself so much for this. I'm preparing
- 51:21Speaker 4: myself for with the competition of what I do. That's
- 51:26Speaker 4: the reason why I get my rest, That's the reason
- 51:28Speaker 4: why I don't because I want to be the best
- 51:30Speaker 4: at what I do period. So everything I do, I'm
- 51:34Speaker 4: serious about that. Like I'm in coming to the club
- 51:36Speaker 4: sneaking around getting another.
- 51:37Speaker 2: Set ready for this next special.
- 51:40Speaker 4: Yeah you know what I'm saying, I ain't gonna like
- 51:42Speaker 4: it's just I move like that because it be I'm
- 51:45Speaker 4: a friendly person when I meet people, like hey, how
- 51:47Speaker 4: you doing, But then I feel that like are you
- 51:49Speaker 4: moving like that?
- 51:51Speaker 2: All right? You on my list?
- 51:54Speaker 4: You on my list, you on my listen, you on
- 51:55Speaker 4: my listen, you on my list, and I'm never gonna
- 51:57Speaker 4: take my foot off your nick so it and it's bad.
- 52:01Speaker 3: I consider you self made well. I think it's very
- 52:04Speaker 3: obvious yourself made came from nothing, literally nothing. What advice
- 52:10Speaker 3: would you give to someone else that's coming from that
- 52:13Speaker 3: same situation but maybe doesn't feel they have the natural
- 52:20Speaker 3: talents because I think some of your talent may be
- 52:22Speaker 3: a little natural. I think charisma can be a little
- 52:24Speaker 3: more natural natural.
- 52:26Speaker 4: Nobody's not going to help you, and don't look for somebody.
- 52:32Speaker 4: Find God in yourself, because God is in everybody you know,
- 52:35Speaker 4: and you know I.
- 52:35Speaker 2: Believe in Jesus.
- 52:36Speaker 4: If you don't believe in Jesus, just believe in yourself
- 52:39Speaker 4: at least, and you got to find that thing in
- 52:43Speaker 4: you that's gonna If you don't got the natural talent,
- 52:45Speaker 4: you might got the natural build to work harder than
- 52:47Speaker 4: this man, do everything you can, and God to do
- 52:50Speaker 4: the risk, because nobody is truly really going to help you,
- 52:55Speaker 4: because when somebody do help you, it's gonna cast so
- 52:57Speaker 4: much interest. In the end, you don't even want to help.
- 53:01Speaker 4: And when you move and you know that you're gonna
- 53:03Speaker 4: panic and be like, hold up, if a person not
- 53:06Speaker 4: with me, they truly against me. And when you think
- 53:09Speaker 4: that it's not, but it's not make you mad or
- 53:12Speaker 4: get a gun and hurt somebody.
- 53:13Speaker 2: Know it gonna make you move different. Let me look
- 53:15Speaker 2: out for me. Let me not I ain't gonna take
- 53:18Speaker 2: too many drinks. Let me get me some rest.
- 53:21Speaker 4: Let me do everything I can control, because I can't
- 53:23Speaker 4: get a million dollars over night all the time. I
- 53:25Speaker 4: can't get ten million dollars. But now let me set
- 53:28Speaker 4: my bindaries. I know me so okay, I ain't finna
- 53:30Speaker 4: get too deep in this relationship because I'm gonna like
- 53:32Speaker 4: you too much and you're gonna throw me off. So
- 53:34Speaker 4: you look out for yourself because the devil could get
- 53:37Speaker 4: in anybody. Devil could get in your the people right
- 53:40Speaker 4: around you, your children, your brother, your sister. But if
- 53:43Speaker 4: you look out for you and be your best version
- 53:46Speaker 4: of you, even if it get in them, it can't
- 53:48Speaker 4: on you because you already looking out for you. So
- 53:50Speaker 4: anybody who trying to come up, man, man, do the
- 53:54Speaker 4: best you can and your circumstances.
- 53:57Speaker 3: Yeah, and then one last thing, your success. It wasn't overnight, nah,
- 54:02Speaker 3: but it definitely appears to be overnight. What was like
- 54:05Speaker 3: the hardest thing that you had to accomplish on this journey.
- 54:09Speaker 4: The hardest thing was to keep going, to keep myself
- 54:12Speaker 4: to make my fan like, Okay, my day coming, my
- 54:14Speaker 4: day coming, because everybody was getting their day, all their
- 54:17Speaker 4: influences getting their day because everybody but I don't kiss
- 54:20Speaker 4: no butt, so nobody ain't gonna help you if you're
- 54:22Speaker 4: not Wayne. If you think you're finna walk in here
- 54:24Speaker 4: and I feel them, I probably want to help me either,
- 54:26Speaker 4: because I walk in the room and I'm gonna speak,
- 54:28Speaker 4: but I'm not.
- 54:29Speaker 2: I don't care who you are.
- 54:30Speaker 1: Ain't nobody God, Yeah, but I think you have like
- 54:33Speaker 1: a cool I mean, I joke with you all, and
- 54:36Speaker 1: I definitely think you have that country side that is likable. Yeah,
- 54:42Speaker 1: even if you're like a diva ish, you have that
- 54:44Speaker 1: country yeah.
- 54:45Speaker 2: Man. But I just that was the hardest thing.
- 54:47Speaker 4: It's staying up and every day and it's like and
- 54:52Speaker 4: motivate your own self like I got this.
- 54:55Speaker 1: Yeah, But you can't pinpoint a particular moment that brought
- 54:58Speaker 1: you to to a pause, a soft pause. Even the
- 55:02Speaker 1: pandemic I mean, I'll tell you right now, the pandemic
- 55:04Speaker 1: brought me to a screeching hope.
- 55:06Speaker 3: I literally forgot that the rest of.
- 55:09Speaker 2: It, I couldn't know.
- 55:10Speaker 4: I couldn't because I got out on kids, so I
- 55:12Speaker 4: could never pall because I I every time I sit back,
- 55:16Speaker 4: somebody needs some.
- 55:18Speaker 2: So I just ain't never had that moment.
- 55:20Speaker 1: I'm talking about a brief like there's a small chance
- 55:23Speaker 1: I won't make it. I mean, every day I do,
- 55:26Speaker 1: I work and everything, there's still that and it could
- 55:28Speaker 1: just be me. There's still that small whisper that, you know,
- 55:32Speaker 1: maybe you're a little crazy for even continue to keep trying.
- 55:35Speaker 1: But I'm definitely like I have the good side in
- 55:38Speaker 1: the bass. I have the good side that's like keep
- 55:39Speaker 1: going and I have the basket. It's like, girl, what
- 55:41Speaker 1: are you gonna quit it?
- 55:42Speaker 2: You know?
- 55:43Speaker 1: But you don't ever have to feel. I ain't never
- 55:45Speaker 1: hear that that Holy Spirit is strong on you.
- 55:47Speaker 4: I ain't never heard that because I knew even if
- 55:50Speaker 4: I Jesus, Jesus had told me I was in my
- 55:53Speaker 4: spirit and he done brought too many things to pass.
- 55:56Speaker 4: I'm like, I know I am, and I look at
- 55:59Speaker 4: in my industry at people skill level and I'm like, yeah,
- 56:02Speaker 4: it came here from me.
- 56:03Speaker 2: I'm gonna get there. So no, I ain't never had
- 56:06Speaker 2: that moment.
- 56:07Speaker 3: Okay, well maybe thref on me. But thank you so
- 56:12Speaker 3: much for coming out your way again.
- 56:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 56:15Speaker 3: I really appreciate it, like more than you know.
- 56:17Speaker 4: I know, I really do. I appreciate you too. Man,
- 56:20Speaker 4: you got a great spirit and I just want you
- 56:21Speaker 4: to continue being who you are. And God see you. Man,
- 56:27Speaker 4: God see you. It's gonna be people look over you come.
- 56:29Speaker 4: You got a spirit like that. The devil run this world,
- 56:32Speaker 4: but God see you, and he got a position for you.
- 56:35Speaker 4: He got he got he see what you're doing. And
- 56:38Speaker 4: and when he touched it he said yes one time.
- 56:41Speaker 4: They the devil said yes all day, but his yes
- 56:43Speaker 4: is don't mean nothing.
- 56:44Speaker 3: Yeah, I appreciate it. Someone told me that eating wh Broke,
- 56:48Speaker 3: So Eating whe Broke is technically.
- 56:50Speaker 1: A positive podcast, but uh someone said that, you know,
- 56:55Speaker 1: the other podcasts out in the world are like the baby,
- 56:58Speaker 1: and I'm like coming, like you know, coming, it's good
- 57:00Speaker 1: for you, but the baby's popping, so you know, of
- 57:03Speaker 1: course it can be frustrating to see like other podcasts
- 57:06Speaker 1: just take off and they're kind of like, say, you know,
- 57:10Speaker 1: I don't curse.
- 57:11Speaker 4: In my comedy, but but I'm getting that bad I
- 57:15Speaker 4: go on to a curzy commedians it just stay man,
- 57:19Speaker 4: stay your course.
- 57:20Speaker 2: Yeah, and stay your course and watch.
- 57:22Speaker 1: Watch, yeah, watch, and one day you guys will see
- 57:26Speaker 1: me cook a real vegan dish.
- 57:29Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what we're waiting on.
- 57:30Speaker 3: That's what we're weighing on. I'll send you a little
- 57:32Speaker 3: clip of it too.

- 57:35Speaker 1: of your crazy schedule, flying all the way to LA
- 57:38Speaker 1: to sit down with us and put us in your
- 57:41Speaker 1: schedule on I'm thankful you cook for me this time.

- 57:55Speaker 1: could get his book at Barnes and Noble.
- 57:57Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, we got a book. We got Oh we can't. Oh,
- 57:59Speaker 4: I can promote Nelson.
- 58:01Speaker 3: It's so funny.
- 58:02Speaker 1: I've been trying to convince Wayne to do a podcast,
- 58:05Speaker 1: so please guys, slide into his DMS. I got some ideas,
- 58:08Speaker 1: and you know, I'm trying to see if you know
- 58:11Speaker 1: he could just shoot a couple and like, see what
- 58:13Speaker 1: goes out there.
- 58:13Speaker 3: But I think you'd be great A podcasts just one
- 58:15Speaker 3: more thing. You already got the rest of your resume
- 58:17Speaker 3: popping yet, all right?
