- 0:00Speaker 1: Stirring the pot one morning at a time. Welcome to
- 0:05Speaker 1: the Alabama show.
- 0:15Speaker 2: You know what the worst idea ever was? Anything to
- 0:19Speaker 2: do with pumpkins? Yesterday, I decided I'm going to start running. Oh, yeah,
- 0:26Speaker 2: that would be a bad idea if you haven't done
- 0:28Speaker 2: it in forever. Oh, yeah, I did four miles yesterday.
- 0:31Speaker 2: I can't feel my legs today. You did that on
- 0:33Speaker 2: a first day? There's blisters on my toes. And I
- 0:37Speaker 2: did it outside.
- 0:37Speaker 3: Well, I've been running on the treadmill at work like
- 0:40Speaker 3: almost a mile.
- 0:42Speaker 2: So today I was like, I'm going to try four miles. Yeah.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Outside in the sun.
- 0:47Speaker 1: I died.
- 0:49Speaker 2: It's fine. I'm fine. Yeah, that makes sense. Just jump
- 0:52Speaker 2: right into it. You know, ease into it, I guess.
- 0:54Speaker 2: I just ran until I couldn't anymore. Actually, I walked
- 0:56Speaker 2: a lot. I ran the first mile and then it
- 0:58Speaker 2: was jogging and walking, jogging and walking.
- 1:02Speaker 4: Now you got blisters.
- 1:03Speaker 2: I have blisters in between my toes. I cannot feel
- 1:06Speaker 2: my legs. Do you know how bad my legs hurt
- 1:08Speaker 2: right now? Why did you go to the four miles?
- 1:11Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:12Speaker 3: I just kept going because I drank creatine with taurine
- 1:15Speaker 3: and it gave me energy and I was going to
- 1:17Speaker 3: run until I couldn't anymore.
- 1:19Speaker 2: And that's what I did. You mean like anymore ever again,
- 1:22Speaker 2: or do you mean like yesterday? Why would you do that?
- 1:27Speaker 2: I don't know, but I lost a pound. Anyway. Congrats
- 1:31Speaker 2: on that, I guess. Good morning.
- 1:34Speaker 3: Thanks for listening to the show. If you're crazy like me,
- 1:37Speaker 3: call in 833-501-BAMA is the number.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Good morning.
- 1:42Speaker 1: It's what the hell headlines.
- 1:43Speaker 2: What the hell are you talking about?
- 1:45Speaker 1: On the Alabama show.
- 1:48Speaker 3: A 300-pound lion and her cub are reportedly.
- 1:52Speaker 2: On the loose.
- 1:53Speaker 1: What the hell?
- 1:54Speaker 2: Where should I be looking out for?
- 1:56Speaker 3: Well, somewhere in the middle of Indiana. Listen to the
- 1:59Speaker 3: sheriff talk about it.
- 2:00Speaker 5: We got a call from a citizen right down the
- 2:02Speaker 5: road here that he looked out his back window and
- 2:05Speaker 5: seen what appeared to be a lioness and a cub
- 2:08Speaker 5: moving through his property. Law enforcement has not made any
- 2:10Speaker 5: confirmed sightings of this lioness and cub. The public, that's
- 2:14Speaker 5: going to be our best bet as far as seeing
- 2:15Speaker 5: anything like this. We'll have to report it to 911
- 2:19Speaker 5: so we can get some folks out here.
- 2:21Speaker 3: Somebody needs to call Joe Exotic and see what's going on.
- 2:25Speaker 1: What the hell?
- 2:27Speaker 6: Super easy trivia with The Alabama Show.
- 2:30Speaker 3: If you want to win tickets to Rock the South,
- 2:33Speaker 3: call the show, 833-501-BAMA. Producer Blake's about to win these
- 2:37Speaker 3: tickets for you.
- 2:38Speaker 2: It's going down right now. Question number one, buddy.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Okay. What's the name of the building where people can
- 2:43Speaker 3: borrow books or hear stories?
- 2:45Speaker 4: Libraries.
- 2:45Speaker 3: Libraries.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Yes.
- 2:49Speaker 2: How many letters are in the alphabet? 26.
- 2:53Speaker 3: Bonus question. I didn't put this down. What is A-E-I-O-U?
- 2:57Speaker 2: And sometimes Y or vowels.
- 3:00Speaker 3: Good job.
- 3:01Speaker 7: I know that.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Last one for the win. Okay. What is the capital
- 3:05Speaker 2: of the United States of America? Washington, D.C. Good job, buddy. Congratulations.
- 3:21Speaker 3: Producer Blake just won you tickets to Rock the South
- 3:23Speaker 3: if you would like to go.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Call in.
- 3:25Speaker 1: 833-501-BAMA.
- 3:25Speaker 2: That's 833-501-2262.
- 3:30Speaker 6: It's three things you need to know with.
- 3:32Speaker 1: The Alabama show.
- 3:33Speaker 2: There is a cake.
- 3:34Speaker 3: If you love sweets that you can only get in Alabama,
- 3:38Speaker 3: that was just named one of the South's most legendary desserts.
- 3:42Speaker 3: According to Southern living, they did a list of the
- 3:45Speaker 3: South's most legendary desserts and the cake that made it
- 3:49Speaker 3: in Alabama is the coconut cake at Bottega. They say
- 3:53Speaker 3: it's not like normal coconut cake. It's got pecans and
- 3:56Speaker 3: texture on the outside and it looks delicious. So yeah,
- 3:59Speaker 3: If you are a coconut cake fan or just a
- 4:01Speaker 3: cake fan, the one at Bottega just made the list
- 4:03Speaker 3: on Southern Living and congratulations to that. Lionel Richie was
- 4:08Speaker 3: hospitalized and he's in intensive care after performing in St.
- 4:12Speaker 3: Louis over the weekend. He checked himself into the hospital.
- 4:15Speaker 3: after his concert Saturday night to have some test run.
- 4:19Speaker 3: They were looking into dehydration. People at the concert said
- 4:23Speaker 3: he looked like he was struggling towards the end of
- 4:25Speaker 3: the show. Like he asked his team to bring him
- 4:27Speaker 3: a chair while performing his final song and sat down
- 4:30Speaker 3: while he sang all night long. So hopefully sources say
- 4:33Speaker 3: he'll be released today and it's just dehydration and we'll
- 4:35Speaker 3: keep a lookout and keep you updated.
- 4:38Speaker 2: PBR.
- 4:39Speaker 3: Is creating a limited edition Friday the 13th box where
- 4:45Speaker 3: the beer package turns into a wearable Jason Voorhees hockey mask.
- 4:48Speaker 3: If you like PBR and you like Jason Voorhees, you
- 4:52Speaker 3: can cut the mask out of the box and wear it.
- 4:54Speaker 3: PBR suggests adding an extra hole in the mask for
- 4:56Speaker 3: easier beer access. They also have like Jason themed apparel
- 5:00Speaker 3: right now, glassware, koozies, bobbleheads and more. So it's going
- 5:03Speaker 3: on right now and it runs through Friday, November 13th.
- 5:07Speaker 2: And that's three things you need to know. More at thealabamashow.com.
- 5:12Speaker 6: The Alabama Show on demand. Free on the iHeartRadio app.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Welcome to Wheel of Pumpkin. I'm your host, Ryan Seacrest.
- 5:32Speaker 7: In honor of fall, the Alabama show is having producer
- 5:34Speaker 7: Blake try all the pumpkin spiced flavored treats this season
- 5:39Speaker 7: has to offer. Producer Blake, get ready to spin the
- 5:42Speaker 7: wheel and see what pumpkin spice flavored treat.
- 5:45Speaker 2: You will be trying today. Today, on the Alabama Show,
- 5:49Speaker 2: I have brought in Producer Blake. There's only two things
- 5:51Speaker 2: on Wheel of Pumpkin today.
- 5:52Speaker 4: Okay, great.
- 5:53Speaker 3: Welcome to our yearly favorite segment we do where Producer
- 5:56Speaker 3: Blake tries weird pumpkin spice things.
- 5:58Speaker 2: If you find any weird pumpkin spice flavored things.
- 6:00Speaker 3: And you see it at the store, call the show
- 6:02Speaker 3: and tell us what it is and where it's at. 833-501-BAMA.
- 6:03Speaker 8: Today.
- 6:06Speaker 3: Either you have to chug a full pumpkin beer, a
- 6:09Speaker 3: pumpkin cider.
- 6:10Speaker 2: You got to either chug a pumpkin.
- 6:12Speaker 3: Beer or you have a pumpkin Kringle. Danish Kringle from
- 6:17Speaker 3: Trader Joe's.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Okay, I don't want.
- 6:21Speaker 4: To try either of them, if I'm being honest.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Neither one of them seem interesting. We know this. Spin
- 6:26Speaker 2: the wheel. Producer Blake hates pumpkin spice, by the way.
- 6:28Speaker 3: All right, here we go.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Beer or Danish?
- 6:31Speaker 8: All right.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Are you going to chug the beer? Oh, he got
- 6:35Speaker 2: the beer. You got to chug the pumpkin cider. I
- 6:37Speaker 2: don't think I can do this whole thing. As much
- 6:39Speaker 2: as you can.
- 6:39Speaker 3: Okay.
- 6:40Speaker 2: It'll make your day better. It's like apple cider, but pumpkin. Okay,
- 6:44Speaker 2: here we go. Also, I think I got it, Trader Joe's.
- 6:48Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, that smells disgusting.
- 6:51Speaker 2: It smells like pumpkin pie.
- 6:53Speaker 4: That does not smell like pumpkin pie.
- 6:54Speaker 8: Okay.
- 6:55Speaker 2: As much as you can. Keep going. Are you going
- 6:59Speaker 2: to throw up? Yeah, I'm not doing that. What does
- 7:02Speaker 2: it taste like? One more sip.
- 7:05Speaker 3: Chug, chug, chug. I can't.
- 7:07Speaker 1: I don't think I can. What does it taste like?
- 7:10Speaker 2: It tastes like pumpkin. They're good. I've tried it. It's
- 7:13Speaker 2: like an apple cider, but pumpkin. One more sip. Okay,
- 7:17Speaker 2: I'll do one more. He's breathing to get ready. Don't
- 7:24Speaker 2: think about it. Just do it.
- 7:26Speaker 3: The more you think about it, the more you freak
- 7:27Speaker 3: yourself out.
- 7:31Speaker 2: That is the most disgusting thing I'm doing here. How's
- 7:36Speaker 2: that taste?
- 7:38Speaker 4: Oh, it tastes like apple that went bad, but it
- 7:40Speaker 4: tastes more like pumpkin than it does apple.
- 7:42Speaker 2: I don't know how to make that. Oh, my gosh.
- 7:45Speaker 2: Why do they make this? Call the show.
- 7:48Speaker 3: What's your favorite pumpkin spice flavored thing?
- 7:51Speaker 2: 833-501-BAMA. Also, you can spin the wheel.
- 7:54Speaker 1: The Alabama Show. On demand. Free on the iHeartRadio app.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Wheel of Pumpkin.
- 8:02Speaker 3: Just spin it one more time. You got to get
- 8:04Speaker 3: the Danish. By the way, we do Wheel of Pumpkin
- 8:07Speaker 3: in the fall every year now. It's our new favorite
- 8:09Speaker 3: thing because producer Blake hates pumpkin spice flavored things.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Not my favorite thing, but we're going to spin. Here
- 8:14Speaker 2: we go. A minute ago, he had a pumpkin cider beer. Now, oh, perfect.
- 8:19Speaker 2: You hit the Danish.
- 8:20Speaker 3: And now I need you to take the biggest bite
- 8:23Speaker 3: of this pumpkin Danish Kringle that I have gotten from
- 8:27Speaker 3: Trader Joe's.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Take a big old, big old bite. It's good. It
- 8:31Speaker 2: tastes like pumpkin pie. It's got pecans. It's full of
- 8:34Speaker 2: pumpkin filling.
- 8:36Speaker 1: That one?
- 8:39Speaker 2: Okay, never mind. You were going to say it was good?
- 8:43Speaker 4: It's not the worst thing.
- 8:43Speaker 2: We've had on here. Is it sour?
- 8:46Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 8:47Speaker 2: It's not sour?
- 8:49Speaker 4: The pumpkin is sour. The icing helps a lot on
- 8:53Speaker 4: this one. If it didn't have the icing.
- 8:57Speaker 2: I don't know. I still think. It's delicious. I'm going
- 8:59Speaker 2: to heat some up.
- 9:00Speaker 3: You want to try it warm?
- 9:01Speaker 2: You want to try it again warm? I think that's
- 9:03Speaker 2: a croissant on it.
- 9:04Speaker 1: That helped.
- 9:05Speaker 2: That helped a lot. But I don't want this anymore.
- 9:07Speaker 4: I think I'm done with pumpkin for the day.
- 9:09Speaker 2: You have that. You have at it. I'm done with it.
- 9:12Speaker 3: Feel free to call the show. What is your favorite
- 9:14Speaker 3: pumpkin spice flavored thing? Have you seen anything.
- 9:16Speaker 2: At the store so far? Because I want to go
- 9:19Speaker 2: buy it for next week.
- 9:21Speaker 1: The Alabama Show on demand. Amazing. Free on the iHeartRadio app.
- 9:26Speaker 3: 833-501-BAMA is the number to call the show. What's your
- 9:29Speaker 3: favorite pumpkin or pumpkin spice flavored thing for the pumpkin
- 9:33Speaker 3: season that we can get producer Blake to try next week? Amber,
- 9:37Speaker 3: listening to us on the iHeartRadio app in El Paso, Texas.
- 9:40Speaker 2: Good morning. Do you have a pumpkin thing?
- 9:42Speaker 3: I do.
- 9:43Speaker 2: And I got to figure out if you sell them
- 9:45Speaker 2: where you're at or how I can send you one over.
- 9:47Speaker 3: Oh, OK.
- 9:48Speaker 2: They're like a they're like a Mexican pastry.
- 9:51Speaker 8: They look like a kind of a dumpling, but they're
- 9:54Speaker 8: sweet and flaky and crusty.
- 9:56Speaker 2: On the outside. On the inside, they're usually filled with
- 9:58Speaker 2: like pineapple. but the pumpkin ones are the best. That
- 10:03Speaker 2: sounds delicious.
- 10:05Speaker 3: Producer Blake looks mortified, but I would eat that.
- 10:08Speaker 2: I would not. We're going to get it to you.
- 10:11Speaker 2: All right, perfect.
- 10:12Speaker 3: If we can find some pumpkin empanadas, we will do it.
- 10:16Speaker 7: Yes, yes.
- 10:17Speaker 6: It's three things you need to know with the Alabama Show.
- 10:21Speaker 3: There's a global paracycling road world championship coming to Alabama.
- 10:26Speaker 2: So we're going to have.
- 10:27Speaker 3: Athletes from all over the world in Huntsville, September 4th
- 10:31Speaker 3: through 7th.
- 10:32Speaker 2: It's going to go.
- 10:33Speaker 3: Well, it's going to happen at Cummings Research Park. So
- 10:36Speaker 3: hundreds of international athletes will be here.
- 10:38Speaker 2: Nine U.S.
- 10:39Speaker 3: Military veterans compete for Team USA. If you don't know
- 10:42Speaker 3: what paracycling is, it's like where the cycles are laying down.
- 10:46Speaker 3: So if you see a bunch of those running around town,
- 10:49Speaker 3: this weekend is when that'll happen. And you see a
- 10:51Speaker 3: lot of people in town.
- 10:53Speaker 2: That is why.
- 10:54Speaker 3: Dolly Parton's Jolene and I Will Always Love You hit
- 10:57Speaker 3: top 40 for the first time. Both songs were written
- 11:00Speaker 3: in 1974. They originally peaked at number 60 and never
- 11:04Speaker 3: charted on the Hot 100.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Jolene surged 583% in streams to 10.2 million live.
- 11:11Speaker 3: While I Will Always Love You jumped over 1,000% at
- 11:14Speaker 3: 6.5 million streams, three other songs that hit the chart
- 11:18Speaker 3: as well, nine to five islands in the stream, and
- 11:20Speaker 3: Here You Come Again. It's still so crazy to me
- 11:23Speaker 3: that Dolly Parton has passed away.
- 11:25Speaker 2: I feel like none of us were ready for that.
- 11:28Speaker 3: Walmart has dropped a brand new rotisserie chicken.
- 11:31Speaker 2: Purse for $ 5. 97. Is it like.
- 11:33Speaker 4: An actual rotisserie chicken?
- 11:36Speaker 3: It is the exact price as the rotisserie chicken. It's
- 11:39Speaker 3: a handbag that's shaped like the bag that you get
- 11:41Speaker 3: the rotisserie chicken in from Walmart. And it has a
- 11:44Speaker 3: picture of the chicken on the outside. They have two
- 11:46Speaker 3: different purses, the original and the lemon pepper. Obviously, the
- 11:51Speaker 3: lemon pepper is yellow, but it's got a picture of
- 11:54Speaker 3: an actual rotisserie chicken.
- 11:55Speaker 2: On the outside.
- 11:56Speaker 3: So it looks like you're carrying a rotisserie chicken from Walmart,
- 11:59Speaker 3: but it's a picture of it on a purse. You
- 12:02Speaker 3: can get that right now starting today at sparkshop.com if
- 12:06Speaker 3: you want.
- 12:06Speaker 2: A chicken bag. I guess this is fashion now. Yep,
- 12:09Speaker 2: that is three things you need to know. More at thealabamashow.com.
- 12:15Speaker 1: The Alabama Show on demand.
- 12:17Speaker 3: Yes!
- 12:17Speaker 1: Free on the iHeartRadio app.
- 12:20Speaker 3: 833-501-BAMA is the number to call the show.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Heather, good morning. Do you have good news? I do
- 12:25Speaker 2: have good news. Okay, what's your good news? So, it
- 12:28Speaker 2: was my birthday this weekend. Happy birthday.
- 12:30Speaker 1: And, um, wasn't... Thank you.
- 12:33Speaker 8: I wasn't going to be able to go out with
- 12:35Speaker 8: anybody on Friday, so I decided to be brave and
- 12:38Speaker 8: I went out by myself.
- 12:40Speaker 1: Yes.
- 12:41Speaker 8: And I was just sitting at a bar, enjoying my drinks,
- 12:43Speaker 8: scrolling my phone, and there was a table of girls
- 12:46Speaker 8: next to me and they said.
- 12:47Speaker 2: Hey, queen.
- 12:48Speaker 3: Ah.
- 12:49Speaker 2: Yes. I turned around.
- 12:51Speaker 8: And they were like, do you want to come sit
- 12:53Speaker 8: with us? And I said, would it be weird if
- 12:56Speaker 8: I said yes? And they were like, absolutely not.
- 12:58Speaker 2: And he made new friends.
- 12:59Speaker 8: So shout out to Hannah and Kyler and Taylor.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Yes. My new friends.
- 13:03Speaker 8: Oh.
- 13:04Speaker 2: I love, first off, happy birthday. What bar was it?
- 13:07Speaker 8: It was Beer Hog in Pelham.
- 13:10Speaker 2: I love that.
- 13:10Speaker 3: And shout out to girls who are not mean girls
- 13:13Speaker 3: and are nice.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Because as you get.
- 13:15Speaker 3: Older as a girl, I think it's hard for us
- 13:18Speaker 3: to find other girlfriends because we, I don't know if
- 13:21Speaker 3: we feel like we're competing against each other or like
- 13:24Speaker 3: life changes. Like a lot of my best girlfriends have
- 13:26Speaker 3: kids and so it's harder for them to go out.
- 13:28Speaker 3: So I am so glad those girls invited you over
- 13:30Speaker 3: and you made some new friends.
- 13:31Speaker 2: That is awesome.
- 13:32Speaker 8: Thank you. Yes, we were all Facebook friends by the
- 13:34Speaker 8: end of the night.
- 13:35Speaker 2: Yes. That gets another air horn.
- 13:38Speaker 3: Well, also, since it's your birthday, our friends at Rock
- 13:41Speaker 3: and Roll Sushi love to help people celebrate their good news.
- 13:44Speaker 3: I'd love to give you a $ 50 gift card to
- 13:46Speaker 3: Rock and Roll Sushi so you can go treat yourself.
- 13:48Speaker 2: Again for your birthday.
- 13:49Speaker 8: Well, thank you so much. I love Rock and Roll Sushi.
- 13:52Speaker 6: The Alabama Show on demand, free on the iHeartRadio app.
- 13:57Speaker 3: It's that time of year again. People are starting to
- 14:00Speaker 3: get a little weird about sports. You'll be at an
- 14:02Speaker 3: important event. There's always some guy... Watch the football game
- 14:08Speaker 3: in an inappropriate place.
- 14:10Speaker 2: It is the worst timing, yes. Thanks for listening to
- 14:12Speaker 2: The Alabama Show. I'm Alabama with producer Blake. What happened?
- 14:17Speaker 4: So I went to a concert this past weekend for,
- 14:20Speaker 4: you know, work, and we get there, and it's me
- 14:22Speaker 4: and a guy that work with us.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Our buddy Ben. We love Ben. Ben is sitting beside
- 14:27Speaker 2: me at this concert. And it's like an awesome concert.
- 14:30Speaker 2: You went to the Benson Boone concert, your favorite artist.
- 14:32Speaker 2: And at all concerts... We're sitting there, and we're ready
- 14:36Speaker 2: for the show. Well, Benson Boone, you want to watch.
- 14:39Speaker 3: Yes. Because he's doing flips and acrobats and shiny outfits.
- 14:43Speaker 4: He moves quick, sings well, and I'm sitting there waiting
- 14:45Speaker 4: on him to come on. And I sit beside these
- 14:47Speaker 4: three ladies, and it's just four or five of us
- 14:49Speaker 4: right there. And all of a sudden, I look over
- 14:51Speaker 4: to my right, and Ben is watching sports in the
- 14:54Speaker 4: cup holder with his phone with AirPods in.
- 14:56Speaker 2: And he's staring at the phone like crazy.
- 14:59Speaker 4: And the ladies are talking to us, and I'm like, yeah, yeah,
- 15:02Speaker 4: what's going on, blah, blah, blah.
- 15:04Speaker 2: And Ben's like, uh-huh. Does he even acknowledge them? Barely.
- 15:09Speaker 4: They have to go and tap him on the shoulder
- 15:10Speaker 4: to get his attention.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Were they cute girls?
- 15:13Speaker 4: They were all married, but yes.
- 15:15Speaker 2: Okay.
- 15:17Speaker 3: I mean, if it could have been cute girls, he
- 15:19Speaker 3: could have been like, hey.
- 15:20Speaker 2: Well, I mean, he still could have, but he didn't
- 15:22Speaker 2: talk to them almost at all. They thought something was
- 15:25Speaker 2: wrong with him. They said, is your friend okay? I said, yeah,
- 15:30Speaker 2: he just likes sports.
- 15:33Speaker 4: And what made it worse is he would get.
- 15:35Speaker 2: Up and walk around to get better coverage of the games.
