- 0:00Speaker 1: Three things you need to know.
- 0:02Speaker 2: So just starting things up on this Wednesday morning. We're
- 0:05Speaker 2: going to make it a great day. Appreciate you being here.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Ricky's got those three things presented by Mark Spain Real Estate.
- 0:10Speaker 3: Jimmy Kimmel Live is not canceled. ABC said a report
- 0:14Speaker 3: by Page Six stating that the show would end in
- 0:17Speaker 3: 2027 is inaccurate. Jimmy was recently on a summer break,
- 0:21Speaker 3: leaving his show to the hands of his longtime sidekick,
- 0:24Speaker 3: Guillermo Rodriguez. And they had a rotating cast of guests,
- 0:28Speaker 3: including Rosie O'Donnell, Coleman Domingo, Jelly Roll, and more. Jimmy
- 0:31Speaker 3: renewed his contract recently through the end of May 2027. Um,
- 0:37Speaker 3: So I'm sure they're just kind of like in negotiations
- 0:39Speaker 3: and deciding if the two parties are going to continue
- 0:41Speaker 3: working together, which has brought upon all of these speculations
- 0:44Speaker 3: that the show could be ending. As of right now,
- 0:47Speaker 3: there is no plans for that to happen, though. We
- 0:50Speaker 3: will see how their negotiations go. Has opened in Mount Juliet.
- 0:57Speaker 3: Good Clean Fun is the name of it. Just opened
- 0:59Speaker 3: over the weekend. It's home to an indoor mini golf course,
- 1:04Speaker 3: an arcade, a 7D interactive ride. Did you know that
- 1:09Speaker 3: they could go that high?
- 1:10Speaker 1: 7D?
- 1:10Speaker 3: I thought we were at 3D still.
- 1:12Speaker 4: And more.
- 1:14Speaker 3: Nope, it's 2026, Kev. We got 7D. There's no cover
- 1:18Speaker 3: to get in. You just pay as you go for
- 1:19Speaker 3: the different activities. This is great, especially for when the
- 1:22Speaker 3: weather gets really unfortunate and cold and gross outside because
- 1:26Speaker 3: all of this is inside. The owners also note that
- 1:29Speaker 3: this is not just for kids. They welcome all ages
- 1:31Speaker 3: and it's just a place for people to have some fun.
- 1:34Speaker 3: And airlines, they are catching on to the pillow hack.
- 1:37Speaker 3: The pillow hack is people taking a pillowcase, packing a
- 1:40Speaker 3: bunch of clothes inside of it, and using it as
- 1:43Speaker 3: a pillow on the plane. Typically, they let you bring
- 1:46Speaker 3: a pillow if you would like to, obviously, as long
- 1:48Speaker 3: as it's not massive. I know Zach has his body
- 1:52Speaker 3: pillows that he loves. That's not what I'm talking about.
- 1:54Speaker 3: I'm talking about a regular small pillow. But people are
- 1:56Speaker 3: filling the pillowcase with clothes and other travel needs that
- 1:59Speaker 3: they want to bring with them so they don't have
- 2:00Speaker 3: to pack a bag. and then they can get away
- 2:02Speaker 3: with having to spend any money on packing a bag.
- 2:05Speaker 3: Some airlines are now denying them as carry-ons. They're causing
- 2:09Speaker 3: longer security checks. They're forcing passengers to pay for checking
- 2:12Speaker 3: their pillowcases, which is just a horrifying idea. So just
- 2:17Speaker 3: don't even bother with it. I understand we all love
- 2:20Speaker 3: a good hack. We all love to save money. But
- 2:22Speaker 3: this is just not worth it. The idea of having
- 2:24Speaker 3: to check your pillowcase is horrific to me.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Same.
- 2:27Speaker 3: I'm Ricky Sanchez, and those are the three things you
- 2:29Speaker 3: need to know.
- 2:30Speaker 2: I would hope they would, like, put it in some
- 2:31Speaker 2: sort of a bag or something before they throw it
- 2:33Speaker 2: down with the rest of the suitcases. Probably not.
- 2:35Speaker 3: Especially after holding up the line and everything. They'd be like,
- 2:39Speaker 3: this is what you deserve.
- 2:39Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a mess. Thank you, Ricky. Here's Tame Impala.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Thank you for starting this Wednesday with us. We have
- 2:45Speaker 2: Shaboosie tickets on the way for the first caller of
- 2:47Speaker 2: the day. Within 10 minutes, we'll ask you to call.
- 2:50Speaker 2: If you want those, they're coming on the river.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Happy Wednesday, friends. If you'd like to start your Wednesday
- 2:56Speaker 2: with some tickets, some shaboosie tickets, right now is when
- 2:59Speaker 2: you grab that phone and call us.
- 3:02Speaker 1: 615-737-9107.
- 3:03Speaker 3: You got to get through some weird conversation with the
- 3:07Speaker 3: three of us, as it typically goes. But then you
- 3:09Speaker 3: get to walk away with these tickets.
- 3:12Speaker 2: Ricky always makes it weird. If you want them, 615-737-9107.
- 3:16Speaker 2: We're talking to you next on The River.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 3:21Speaker 2: On 107.5 The River.
- 3:22Speaker 3: We've got Chris in Chapel Hill on the line. Good morning, Chris.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Good morning.
- 3:27Speaker 3: And, you know, since the guys say that I always
- 3:29Speaker 3: make it weird, which is typically not the way it goes,
- 3:32Speaker 3: I'm going to make.
- 3:32Speaker 2: It weird, Chris.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Oh, yeah.
- 3:34Speaker 3: Starting off real strong. If you could pick, would you
- 3:36Speaker 3: rather be abducted by aliens or taken by Sasquatch? Taken
- 3:41Speaker 3: by Sasquatch.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Why? I think it'd be interesting to see what the
- 3:47Speaker 1: life of a Sasquatch is.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Okay.
- 3:49Speaker 5: I feel like then you would be in hiding forever
- 3:51Speaker 5: and you'd be like the ultimate snoop because Sasquatch is
- 3:54Speaker 5: never caught.
- 3:55Speaker 3: Never caught.
- 3:55Speaker 2: That's true.
- 3:56Speaker 3: Hey, but then I wouldn't have any bills.
- 3:58Speaker 2: I like the way you think, Chris.
- 4:00Speaker 1: I like it.
- 4:01Speaker 3: Sometimes it's as simple as that, isn't it, Chris?
- 4:04Speaker 1: That's right.
- 4:05Speaker 2: And I feel like Sasquatch is just looking for a friend,
- 4:07Speaker 2: whereas the aliens might want to dissect you, kill you.
- 4:10Speaker 3: I actually don't think Sasquatch is looking for a friend
- 4:12Speaker 3: at all. That's why he's in hiding. I don't think
- 4:14Speaker 3: he likes humans or being around anybody.
- 4:17Speaker 2: See, I think he's looking for either a best friend
- 4:19Speaker 2: or a lover. And either way, Chris, that's what you're
- 4:22Speaker 2: signing up for.
- 4:23Speaker 3: See, Kevin had to make it weirder than the weird
- 4:25Speaker 3: that I already made it, Chris. Did you see how
- 4:28Speaker 3: this works?
- 4:28Speaker 4: I think.
- 4:31Speaker 3: What a great way to start your morning. Outside of
- 4:33Speaker 3: this conversation, how is your morning going?
- 4:35Speaker 1: It's going great.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Okay, good.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Good, man. On my way to work.
- 4:38Speaker 2: You're on your way to work. What do you do, Chris?
- 4:40Speaker 2: We run a hardware store. Oh, do you want to
- 4:42Speaker 2: give a little plug for it? Ah, I run Guthrie's
- 4:46Speaker 2: Ace Hardware in Chapel Hill, Tennessee. Guthrie's Ace Hardware. For
- 4:49Speaker 2: all your hardware needs.
- 4:51Speaker 3: That's right.
- 4:51Speaker 2: If you're a Sasquatch looking for a buddy, you know
- 4:53Speaker 2: where to find them.
- 4:54Speaker 4: Kevin.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Yeah, or you need total supplies.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Either way.
- 4:59Speaker 3: Well, Chris, we are very happy that we ended up
- 5:01Speaker 3: with you on the line because you handled this very well.
- 5:04Speaker 3: We appreciate you a lot. And to show our appreciation,
- 5:08Speaker 3: we want you to know that you are the first
- 5:09Speaker 3: caller of the day this morning on 107.5 The River.
- 5:11Speaker 3: You're getting tickets to see Shaboosie at Ascend Amphitheater on
- 5:14Speaker 3: the 18th. Awesome. Thank you.
- 5:16Speaker 2: You're very welcome. And just so you know, it's two tickets.
- 5:18Speaker 2: So if you want to bring a special someone. We're
- 5:23Speaker 2: going to put you on hold to get all your information. OK, Chris,
- 5:26Speaker 2: thanks for calling, buddy.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Yes, sir.
- 5:27Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 5:28Speaker 1: All right.
- 5:28Speaker 2: We've got more tomorrow. And, you know, Ricky's going to
- 5:31Speaker 2: make it weird again. It's all your fault, Ricky. Oh,
- 5:34Speaker 2: my God.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 5:37Speaker 2: It usually, you know, costs you a bit of money
- 5:39Speaker 2: to have some financial advice. A financial advisor, those things
- 5:42Speaker 2: are not cheap, but you get it for free around here.
- 5:44Speaker 2: It's 107.5 The River.
- 5:45Speaker 4: Zach.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Well, it.
- 5:46Speaker 3: May not be worth anything.
- 5:48Speaker 2: Is trying to save you money. Zach has a way
- 5:52Speaker 2: to stop spending so much. If you're looking to save
- 5:55Speaker 2: a few pennies, what is it, Zach?
- 5:56Speaker 5: Okay, so I started implementing this today. Literally, today is
- 5:59Speaker 5: day one. So we'll see how well it works. Because
- 6:02Speaker 5: I am that person that if I'm scrolling through social media,
- 6:04Speaker 5: whether it be Instagram, TikTok, whatever it is, I see
- 6:07Speaker 5: an ad for a dumb product.
- 6:08Speaker 2: And I'm like, you know what? I need that in
- 6:09Speaker 2: my life.
- 6:10Speaker 5: I don't know why I fall for it every single time.
- 6:13Speaker 5: So I have decided that... So on my phone, I
- 6:16Speaker 5: have a phone case with a wallet on the back.
- 6:18Speaker 2: I have left all of my credit cards, debit cards,
- 6:21Speaker 2: everything at home. The only thing in my wallet is
- 6:23Speaker 2: my ID.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Okay.
- 6:24Speaker 5: So I have no access to be able to spend it.
- 6:26Speaker 5: I've deleted it through like the same thing on my phone.
- 6:29Speaker 6: Oh.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Like my password's app.
- 6:30Speaker 3: Your Apple.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Okay.
- 6:31Speaker 3: Your card wallet.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Yeah. So it's in my, it's not in my wallet
- 6:35Speaker 2: on my phone. It's not in my software on my phone.
- 6:37Speaker 3: What happens if you need like gas or something?
- 6:39Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what I was going to say. I have
- 6:40Speaker 2: an electric car.
- 6:41Speaker 3: Oh, that's right. You do have an electric car.
- 6:42Speaker 5: So I don't have to stop by the gas station
- 6:44Speaker 5: or anything.
- 6:45Speaker 2: Okay. So I literally have no need for money. I'm
- 6:48Speaker 2: at work. And then I go home. I still think
- 6:50Speaker 2: for emergencies, you should have some way to pay for something.
- 6:54Speaker 2: If you're leaving the house, if you're going out and about.
- 6:57Speaker 2: You're probably right. That's why I was working.
- 6:59Speaker 4: Through this with you.
- 7:00Speaker 2: If this was a good idea or not.
- 7:01Speaker 3: There's a very easy solution to that, though. Carrying cash.
- 7:04Speaker 2: There you go. Because you can't buy stuff online with cash.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Ricky's right. That's true. That's a good idea.
- 7:09Speaker 3: I normally am right, guys. I normally do have good ideas.
- 7:12Speaker 2: I knew this was going to go there. You're welcome.
- 7:15Speaker 3: I'm saving you so much money.
- 7:16Speaker 5: So if I budget myself with cash, I give myself
- 7:19Speaker 5: 20 bucks.
- 7:20Speaker 4: Mm-hmm.
- 7:21Speaker 2: And then I just carry $ 20 around just in case.
- 7:22Speaker 3: I always make sure that I have 50 bucks on me.
- 7:24Speaker 6: Always. Always.
- 7:25Speaker 3: No matter what.
- 7:26Speaker 5: So you think $ 50 is like the amount that I
- 7:29Speaker 5: should have just in case of like an emergency?
- 7:31Speaker 3: Inflation. You know, it used to be $ 20 in college.
- 7:33Speaker 3: Now it's $ 50. Inflation is real.
- 7:36Speaker 2: I am also worried about Zach blowing that $ 50. So
- 7:39Speaker 2: like he goes into a gas station to get something
- 7:41Speaker 2: to drink and he's going to buy every little tchotchke
- 7:44Speaker 2: and stuffed animal they have there just because he has
- 7:45Speaker 2: the money. And this is what he does. This is
- 7:47Speaker 2: the whole problem to begin with.
- 7:48Speaker 3: But that's not his thing. It's the online shopping that's
- 7:50Speaker 3: his thing.
- 7:51Speaker 5: It's always online because it's like I most, because I
- 7:54Speaker 5: have it already saved in my phone, like in my
- 7:55Speaker 5: Apple wallet.
- 7:56Speaker 2: It's just so easy.
- 7:56Speaker 3: Takes three seconds, yeah.
- 7:58Speaker 2: To be like, add to cart, check out, and it's
- 8:00Speaker 2: already all there.
- 8:01Speaker 3: Then they're done that.
- 8:02Speaker 2: I do think if you're removing that from your life entirely,
- 8:04Speaker 2: you're going to have to scratch that itch somehow. You're
- 8:06Speaker 2: going to have to get that dopamine hit of making
- 8:08Speaker 2: these quick little purchases, and you will just do it
- 8:10Speaker 2: with the cash. You're probably right.
- 8:12Speaker 1: About that, too.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Only one way to find out.
- 8:14Speaker 3: Only one way to find out.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Try to do the cash thing for a little while,
- 8:17Speaker 2: and we'll see how it goes. We'll see how many
- 8:18Speaker 2: keychains from the gas station you're going to have left.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Three things you need to know.
- 8:22Speaker 2: 705 here on this Wednesday morning. Thank you for starting
- 8:24Speaker 2: with us. Ricky's got those three things presented by Mark
- 8:26Speaker 2: Spain Real Estate.
- 8:27Speaker 3: Dolly Parton's Song Teller Hotel is set to open on
- 8:30Speaker 3: September 29th. Both the hotel and Life of Many Colors
- 8:34Speaker 3: Museum will officially open the same day, though the hotel
- 8:37Speaker 3: will have a soft open on the 14th, as that's
- 8:39Speaker 3: when guests can start to check in on that day.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Dolly's cousin, Richie Owens, will perform September 16th at Parton's Live,
- 8:46Speaker 3: which is the hotel's second floor venue. And then her niece,
- 8:50Speaker 3: Jada Starr, who is going to launch a twice-weekly artist residency,
- 8:55Speaker 3: will start on September 17th.
- 8:57Speaker 2: It's very cool.
- 8:58Speaker 3: Wimbledon, the tennis tournament, will no longer give influencers media
- 9:02Speaker 3: credentials and a new rule that may become more prevalent
- 9:05Speaker 3: for sporting events.
- 9:06Speaker 1: So the U.S.
- 9:07Speaker 3: Open has happened and the biggest headlines were about influencers
- 9:11Speaker 3: and their bad behavior. Content creators showed up with lights
- 9:14Speaker 3: and camera equipment that was like over the top. And
- 9:17Speaker 3: it was so intense that they reportedly disrupted several matches.
- 9:20Speaker 4: Yikes.
- 9:21Speaker 3: So much so that umpires addressed the crowd directly for
- 9:25Speaker 3: excessive noise and players also commented on the distractions that
- 9:30Speaker 3: were caused during play. So now Wimbledon is like, well,
- 9:33Speaker 3: we're not doing that. They will no longer give influencers
- 9:36Speaker 3: media credentials and they will confiscate items like ring lights
- 9:40Speaker 3: or anything that might disrupt matches. Honestly, the only way
- 9:44Speaker 3: to kind of handle this because the whole point is
- 9:45Speaker 3: to watch. The actual match that's being played and to
- 9:49Speaker 3: make sure that the players feel comfortable in their setting.
- 9:53Speaker 3: And Girl Scouts, they are introducing two new flavors to
- 9:56Speaker 3: the lineup. One is a dog-friendly treat. So Girl Scouts
- 10:00Speaker 3: is debuting their first dog treat. It's called Patch Pals.
- 10:04Speaker 3: Each cookie has one of the four patch designs that
- 10:06Speaker 3: represent iconic Girl Scout experiences. So that's really cute and adorable.
- 10:11Speaker 3: The other addition is an allergy-friendly cookie called Sparkables. So
- 10:15Speaker 3: these are made in a facility free of nine allergens.
- 10:18Speaker 3: They're crunchy oatmeal cookies with chocolate chips and sprinkles that
- 10:21Speaker 3: are gluten-free, nut-free, and vegan. Both cookies are going to
- 10:24Speaker 3: be available starting January 12th of next year. I'm Ricky Sanchez,
- 10:28Speaker 3: and those are the three things you need to know.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Cool.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Thank you, Ricky. Appreciate that. As always, here's Ariana Grande.
- 10:34Speaker 2: We are going to learn together right after the song.
- 10:37Speaker 2: Zach's Facts, next on The River.
- 10:39Speaker 3: Class is in session.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Zach's Facts, brought to you by Mark Spain Real Estate.
- 10:44Speaker 3: On 107.5 The River.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Did you guys know that sharks are actually older than trees?
- 10:50Speaker 1: Wild.
- 10:51Speaker 2: It's really crazy to think about.
- 10:52Speaker 5: So the very first plant recognized as a true tree
- 10:55Speaker 5: appeared like roughly 350 to 390 million years ago, while
- 11:00Speaker 5: sharks fossil evidence date back to about 450 million years ago.
- 11:05Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:07Speaker 5: So they also say that sharks have swum through all
- 11:10Speaker 5: five of Earth's major extinction events.
- 11:13Speaker 2: So sharks have lived through everything.
- 11:14Speaker 3: A lot of them look like they've lived through.
- 11:16Speaker 2: Everything, too.
- 11:17Speaker 1: They do.
- 11:17Speaker 3: I'm going to be honest.
- 11:18Speaker 2: So there's your fact of the day.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Thanks, Zach. Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 11:23Speaker 2: Today is National Teddy Bear Day. It's 107.5, the river.
- 11:27Speaker 2: Ricky brought this up. And, oh, I started thinking about Boudreaux. Oh,
- 11:30Speaker 2: I miss Boudreaux.
- 11:32Speaker 3: Is that the name of your teddy bear?
- 11:33Speaker 2: He was enormous, yes.
- 11:36Speaker 3: We want to know the name of your first teddy bear,
- 11:39Speaker 3: whether you have it still or you're just reminiscing about it.
- 11:42Speaker 5: 615-737-9107.
- 11:43Speaker 3: Boudreaux. And I want to get Ricky, I.
- 11:47Speaker 2: Want to get you and Zach, yours as well. Your
- 11:49Speaker 2: first teddy bear, what was its name?
- 11:51Speaker 1: Ricky, Zach, and Menno.
- 11:53Speaker 2: In the morning.
- 11:53Speaker 1: On 107-5 The River.
- 11:55Speaker 3: Beverly in Lebanon, tell us the name of your first
- 11:57Speaker 3: teddy bear.
- 11:59Speaker 6: His name is Jeff. I still have him. Oh my gosh.
- 12:04Speaker 6: I think it Great if you can, you know, from
- 12:09Speaker 6: time to time, when you need a little extra emotional support,
- 12:13Speaker 6: just give him a squeeze.
- 12:14Speaker 2: Yeah, snuggle Jeff a little bit. What kind of shape
- 12:17Speaker 2: is he in these days?
- 12:19Speaker 6: I mean, all the fur on his nose has been
- 12:22Speaker 6: rubbed off over the years.
- 12:24Speaker 4: He's a polar bear.
- 12:26Speaker 6: He looks more off-white than the white he once was.
- 12:32Speaker 6: But other than that, you know, he's not in the
- 12:35Speaker 6: worst shape in the whole wide world.
- 12:36Speaker 5: Beverly, I have to know, how long have you had Jeff?
- 12:40Speaker 6: 35 years.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Wow.
- 12:42Speaker 6: Probably longer than that.
- 12:43Speaker 1: That's awesome.
- 12:44Speaker 3: Honestly impressive that you've kept him that long, Beverly, and
- 12:46Speaker 3: that he's in not that bad of shape. So congrats
- 12:49Speaker 3: to you.
- 12:49Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 12:51Speaker 3: And tell Jeff that we say hi. Give him a
- 12:53Speaker 3: nice little hug when you get home.
- 12:55Speaker 4: I will.
- 12:57Speaker 2: Thank you so much for calling. Appreciate it.
- 12:59Speaker 4: Bye. Bye, darling.
- 13:00Speaker 3: Brayden in Murfreesboro, what's the name of your teddy bear?
- 13:11Speaker 2: What is it? He's trying to tell you that he
- 13:13Speaker 2: has a poo bear that.
- 13:14Speaker 6: He always used to call pee-poo.
- 13:16Speaker 2: That's so cute.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 13:21Speaker 2: My heart just melted.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Pee-poo.
- 13:24Speaker 3: Honestly, kind of like, it sounds like pee-poo.
- 13:26Speaker 2: I get it.
- 13:27Speaker 6: Thank you, guys.
- 13:28Speaker 3: Thank you so much. Have a great day. You too. Bye.
- 13:31Speaker 2: I will never say Winnie the Pooh again. It's always
- 13:33Speaker 2: going to be pee-poo.
- 13:35Speaker 3: Megan in Nashville, what's the name of your first teddy bear?
- 13:39Speaker 7: Well, it was named Stephanie. And the funny thing about
- 13:43Speaker 7: it is my mom made the bear for me. And
- 13:46Speaker 7: I named it after my dad's new wife.
- 13:48Speaker 1: What? Megan!
- 13:49Speaker 4: Megan!
- 13:51Speaker 3: That is not where I thought this was going. Your
- 13:54Speaker 3: mother made you this bear. She worked so hard and
- 13:57Speaker 3: then you named it after your father's next wife.
- 14:01Speaker 7: Yes, she put a little red heart patch on it
- 14:03Speaker 7: and I dragged that bear around for years and I
- 14:05Speaker 7: never thought about.
- 14:06Speaker 6: It for a long time.
- 14:06Speaker 7: As an adult, I'm like, my poor mother.
- 14:09Speaker 1: Isn't that awful?
- 14:11Speaker 2: Did she not have like a reaction at the time?
- 14:14Speaker 4: I don't remember.
- 14:16Speaker 7: I was four or something. I do not remember.
- 14:18Speaker 3: We break our parents' hearts without even knowing that we're
- 14:22Speaker 3: doing it.
- 14:24Speaker 7: I really, I feel so terrible for her.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Megan, thank you for calling and sharing that story with us. That's, yeah,
- 14:28Speaker 2: that was a twist. All right.
- 14:30Speaker 6: Thank you.
- 14:31Speaker 3: Have a great day, love.
- 14:32Speaker 7: Bye.
- 14:33Speaker 2: You too. My God, those were good calls. Ricky and Zach,
- 14:36Speaker 2: did you guys have a first teddy bear that you recall?
- 14:38Speaker 2: Mine was Chi Chi.
- 14:40Speaker 5: I don't know why or where it came from, but
- 14:41Speaker 5: it was me and Chi Chi just everywhere that I went.
- 14:43Speaker 3: Adorable. I don't think I had a teddy bear when
- 14:46Speaker 3: I was little, honestly. Not one that I was like
- 14:48Speaker 3: super attached to, but I do have a Squishmallow right now.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Oh.
- 14:52Speaker 3: And his name is Ceviche. ceviche he's a squirrel named
- 14:56Speaker 3: ceviche i will say i picture ricky like this as
- 14:59Speaker 3: a child like your brother probably had a stuffed animal
- 15:01Speaker 3: and ricky would like go.
- 15:02Speaker 2: Rip the stuffing out of it to terrorize your.
- 15:04Speaker 3: Brother that is so aggressive i was the best older
- 15:07Speaker 3: sister ever and neither of us had a stuffy it
- 15:11Speaker 3: just wasn't our.
- 15:11Speaker 2: Thing ricky probably like snuggled like a book of matches
- 15:14Speaker 2: at the end of the night That's what I picture.
- 15:17Speaker 5: 615-737-9107.
- 15:17Speaker 2: You're right. Your first teddy bear. What was its name?
- 15:22Speaker 1: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 15:25Speaker 3: On 107.5 The River.
- 15:26Speaker 2: We have Becca in Lewisburg on the line. Becca, what
- 15:29Speaker 2: was yours called?
- 15:30Speaker 6: Cubby Bear.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Cubby Bear.
- 15:33Speaker 7: I was about four, and me and my younger brother
- 15:36Speaker 7: are five years apart.
- 15:37Speaker 6: And when my mom was pregnant with him, I used
- 15:40Speaker 6: to kiss her belly and.
- 15:42Speaker 7: Call the baby my Cubby Bear.
- 15:45Speaker 4: Oh!
- 15:46Speaker 2: That is so sweet.
- 15:49Speaker 6: And his nickname is Cubby.
- 15:53Speaker 3: That is the cutest thing ever. Oh my God.
- 15:56Speaker 7: You still call my brother Cubby. It's weird when other
- 16:00Speaker 7: people hear us call him that.
- 16:04Speaker 2: Oh my God, I love it.
- 16:05Speaker 3: I think that's very sweet that you had a Cubby
- 16:07Speaker 3: bear and you had your very own Cubby bear and
- 16:09Speaker 3: your brother too.
- 16:11Speaker 1: I love that.
- 16:11Speaker 3: As an older sister, I think that is the sweetest
- 16:14Speaker 3: thing ever. I thought my little brother was a toy
- 16:16Speaker 3: for me when my parents brought him home. I later
- 16:19Speaker 3: found out that Yes and no.
- 16:22Speaker 2: A toy that bleeds.
- 16:23Speaker 3: Yeah. Exactly.
- 16:25Speaker 2: Thank you, Becca. Thank you so much for calling and
- 16:26Speaker 2: sharing that sweet story. That probably put a smile on
- 16:28Speaker 2: a lot of faces today.
- 16:29Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 16:30Speaker 7: Y'all have a great day.
- 16:31Speaker 3: You too.
- 16:32Speaker 1: Bye, love.

- 17:05Speaker 2: Cute. What grade is he in?
- 17:07Speaker 6: Second grade.

- 18:13Speaker 3: Hey! Yes, ma'am.
- 18:15Speaker 1: Dang.
- 18:16Speaker 2: Two up, two down.
- 18:17Speaker 1: You win.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Congratulations.
- 18:18Speaker 1: I did that the other night.
- 18:19Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 18:19Speaker 3: You are so welcome, Hannah. Hang on the line. We
- 18:21Speaker 3: got to get your info from you, okay?
- 18:23Speaker 6: Okay.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Nashville Scenes Margarita Festival VIP tickets. We have more tomorrow.
- 18:28Speaker 2: That was way quicker than I expected. I have so
- 18:29Speaker 2: many questions over here. I keep expecting people to get
- 18:31Speaker 2: them wrong and move on to the next question.
- 18:33Speaker 3: Want to ask us a question? Is it going to
- 18:34Speaker 3: make you feel better?
- 18:34Speaker 4: No.
- 18:35Speaker 2: No, you guys know all these, so no. I'm going
- 18:37Speaker 2: to save my questions for tomorrow.
- 18:38Speaker 3: Not going to make you feel better. I'll stop trying.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Three things you need to know. All right, let's go.
- 18:44Speaker 2: It is just after 8 o'clock here on this Wednesday morning.
- 18:47Speaker 2: Ricky Sanchez has those three things for you, presented by
- 18:49Speaker 2: Mark Spain Real Estate.
- 18:51Speaker 3: Ricky Sanchez also has something in her eye.
- 18:52Speaker 2: I can see that.
- 18:53Speaker 3: Ella Langley's shoes in Texas is one week away from
- 18:57Speaker 3: tying the record for most weeks at number one on
- 19:00Speaker 3: Billboard Hot 100. Ella has been number one for 21 weeks,
- 19:04Speaker 3: which is wild. That means that she is one week
- 19:06Speaker 3: away from tying Mariah Carey's All I Want for Christmas
- 19:09Speaker 3: is You, which is the longest running number one since
- 19:12Speaker 3: the creation of Billboard Hot 100 in August of 1958.
- 19:17Speaker 3: The Billboard Hot 100 chart is a mix of different genres.
- 19:21Speaker 3: It's quite the feat that she's been able to do this.
- 19:23Speaker 3: And if next week happens for her. then she's going
- 19:27Speaker 3: to tie. That means that she is the longest running
- 19:30Speaker 3: number one outside of a song for the holidays. So
- 19:34Speaker 3: Choose in Texas is also concurrently leading the Hot Country
- 19:37Speaker 3: Songs chart as well for the 39th week. Congrats to
- 19:40Speaker 3: Ella Langley. Crazy feat. Really proud of her for that because,
- 19:44Speaker 3: I mean, I'm just blown away by the fact that
- 19:46Speaker 3: it's lasted for so long It's number one. That's huge.
- 19:49Speaker 2: That guy's still two-stepping around the room.
- 19:51Speaker 3: Oh, my God. Kevin's been waiting for that this entire time.
- 19:53Speaker 3: Dixon County is hosting a mobile food pantry event on
- 19:57Speaker 3: the 12th. Dixon County Help Center and the Thrift Store
- 20:01Speaker 3: are coming together to provide free meals on Saturday, September 12th.
- 20:05Speaker 3: Starts at 9.30 a.m. They're going to be at the
- 20:07Speaker 3: Dixon County Fairgrounds until food runs out. It's available for
- 20:11Speaker 3: anyone who needs it. So if you need it or
- 20:12Speaker 3: you know someone who needs it, either way, it's available
- 20:16Speaker 3: for everybody. And an expert says that Americans spend too
- 20:20Speaker 3: long in the shower. One environmental scientist says that three
- 20:25Speaker 3: minutes is enough for you to do a basic body shower.
- 20:28Speaker 3: With another couple of minutes if you're washing your hair.
- 20:30Speaker 3: And that the average American, their shower lasts 16 minutes.
- 20:34Speaker 2: Holy moly.
- 20:35Speaker 3: Which is much longer than the three minutes that he
- 20:37Speaker 3: is saying that you should be taking a shower for.
- 20:39Speaker 3: Longer showers often have less to do with getting clean
- 20:42Speaker 3: and more to do with relaxing body. warming up enjoying
- 20:45Speaker 3: the water taking some time by yourself for a few
- 20:48Speaker 3: seconds um but the expert says that most people don't
- 20:51Speaker 3: need to do the things that they do in the
- 20:54Speaker 3: shower like sit there for that long or to shampoo
- 20:56Speaker 3: twice even though the bottle says to do it twice
- 21:00Speaker 3: which i hope everybody already knows that i'm ricky sanchez
- 21:03Speaker 3: and those are the three things you need.
- 21:04Speaker 2: To know they're just trying to sell more shampoo you
- 21:06Speaker 2: know it's oh for sure big shampoo Is that what
- 21:09Speaker 2: you have in your eye? Is that shampoo in your eye?
- 21:10Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 21:11Speaker 3: It's in my eye. I have no idea, but it
- 21:14Speaker 3: was really hard to get through that.
- 21:15Speaker 2: It's all that shampoo. I know.
- 21:17Speaker 3: It might be.
- 21:17Speaker 2: We're going to have to lay down and look in
- 21:19Speaker 2: your eye during the sun.
- 21:19Speaker 3: I think it's my eyelash, honestly. I think I have
- 21:21Speaker 3: an eyelash in my eye.
- 21:22Speaker 2: Well, that's good luck. We're going to find it. We're
- 21:24Speaker 2: going to blow it and make a wish.
- 21:25Speaker 1: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 21:28Speaker 3: On 107.5 The River. I go through a very specific
- 21:31Speaker 3: spiel every time I meet somebody new and I tell
- 21:34Speaker 3: them my name. Every single time, it's the exact same spiel.
- 21:40Speaker 3: But it's because I'm specifically named after someone.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:44Speaker 3: And it's become part of, like, I almost feel like
- 21:47Speaker 3: I need to get cards made that I can just
- 21:49Speaker 3: hand to people and be like, here you go, read
- 21:51Speaker 3: it for yourself.
- 21:52Speaker 2: It'll save you so much time. We're going to play
- 21:54Speaker 2: Sabrina Carpenter, and then can we get your spiel? I'm
- 21:55Speaker 2: going to give the full spiel. Okay. What is Ricky?
- 21:58Speaker 2: Where did the name come from? Is it short for
- 22:00Speaker 2: Rickless Cage, as a lot of people have thought?
- 22:02Speaker 3: That's exactly what it is. But we also want to
- 22:04Speaker 3: know who or what you're named after, too.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 22:08Speaker 2: Who are you named after? Is there a story there?
- 22:11Speaker 2: If so, 615-737-9107. It's 107.5 The River. We ask because
- 22:16Speaker 2: our very own Ricky Sanchez. If you've ever wondered where
- 22:19Speaker 2: the name Ricky comes from, pay attention because she's about
- 22:22Speaker 2: to give her speech.
- 22:23Speaker 3: I have a spiel every time. I met a lot
- 22:25Speaker 3: of new people over the weekend. And whenever I meet
- 22:27Speaker 3: new people and I tell them my name is Ricky,
- 22:29Speaker 3: everybody always assumes it's short for something. So they always go, oh,
- 22:33Speaker 3: what is Ricky short for? Which my response I always
- 22:35Speaker 3: want to say is what the heck would it be
- 22:37Speaker 3: short for?
- 22:38Speaker 2: Rikita? Rickypedia.
- 22:40Speaker 1: Sure. Okay.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Rickypedia.
- 22:42Speaker 3: Great guesses, guys. Great options there. But every time they're like,
- 22:46Speaker 3: what is it short for? And every time I had
- 22:47Speaker 3: to be like, it's not short for anything. I was
- 22:49Speaker 3: named after my dad. And every time I say I
- 22:51Speaker 3: was named after my dad, they go, oh, well, what's
- 22:54Speaker 3: his name?
- 22:54Speaker 2: Also Ricky?
- 22:55Speaker 3: And I say, no, my dad's name is Rick.
- 22:56Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 22:57Speaker 3: And then my grandpa's name is Richard. So it goes Richard, Rick, Ricky.
- 23:01Speaker 3: And we all have the same initials, RMS. Every one
- 23:04Speaker 3: of us, all three of us. And then they're like, oh, but...
- 23:07Speaker 3: you have a brother, right? Because normally at this point
- 23:10Speaker 3: we've gotten to know each other quite well. And I
- 23:12Speaker 3: always say, yes. But they had no idea they were
- 23:14Speaker 3: going to have another kid.
- 23:16Speaker 2: Right, you were the firstborn.
- 23:17Speaker 3: So I was firstborn. And honestly, my dad, he raised
- 23:20Speaker 3: me as a boy. So it was very much like,
- 23:24Speaker 3: you are going to know how to do all of
- 23:26Speaker 3: the things that I know how to do, how to
- 23:27Speaker 3: fix things and how to, you know, play outside and
- 23:30Speaker 3: fish and all that stuff. Because he really just didn't
- 23:33Speaker 3: know if he was going to have a boy.
- 23:34Speaker 2: So he just made me Checks out.
- 23:38Speaker 3: So that's my whole spiel that I have to give
- 23:40Speaker 3: every single time for people. And every time it's very sweet.
- 23:42Speaker 3: Everybody thinks it's adorable. Everybody loves it.
- 23:44Speaker 2: It's a great name.
- 23:45Speaker 3: They always say it's a great name, which I totally
- 23:48Speaker 3: love to hear, especially because I was bullied a lot
- 23:50Speaker 3: as a kid for it.
- 23:50Speaker 2: And your brother did not get the RMS initials.
- 23:53Speaker 3: No, he did not.
- 23:54Speaker 2: Do you feel like jaded?
- 23:56Speaker 3: Do you think that I think he's jaded or that
- 23:59Speaker 3: I'm jaded?
- 23:59Speaker 2: Either way.
- 24:00Speaker 3: No, I don't think he cares. I don't think he
- 24:02Speaker 3: cares at all because now he's done it with his child.
- 24:05Speaker 3: Because now they have... the same initials, TCS.
- 24:09Speaker 2: That's cute.
- 24:10Speaker 3: So it's just taking the same idea, just different initials.
- 24:13Speaker 2: Can I ask you a question for any kid that
- 24:14Speaker 2: might be struggling? Like if it's a boy that thinks
- 24:17Speaker 2: he has a girl's name or a girl that thinks
- 24:18Speaker 2: she has a boy's name, it gets better, right? Do
- 24:21Speaker 2: you have any advice for him or her?
- 24:23Speaker 3: The advice would be to just not listen to anybody.
- 24:25Speaker 3: I know that's easier said than done, and now I'm
- 24:27Speaker 3: out of that, but I cannot imagine being anything but
- 24:31Speaker 3: Ricky Sanchez. I wanted to change my name at one
- 24:33Speaker 3: point because of getting bullied so much for it, and
- 24:36Speaker 3: I cannot imagine being anything else. I just don't think I'm...
- 24:40Speaker 3: No offense to anybody with these names, but I'm not
- 24:42Speaker 3: like a Nicole. I'm not a Sarah.
- 24:44Speaker 5: I was about to say, if you walked in the
- 24:45Speaker 5: studio and you were like, hi, nice to meet you.
- 24:47Speaker 5: My name is Sarah.
- 24:48Speaker 2: I'd be like, you're blatantly lying to my face. You're
- 24:51Speaker 2: not a Sarah. It doesn't fit.
- 24:52Speaker 3: And if you feel like your name, that's really all
- 24:55Speaker 3: that matters. And the whole gender norm, quote unquote, idea
- 24:58Speaker 3: about that is silly and stupid and don't listen to anybody.
- 25:01Speaker 5: I kind of like when females are named like, quote unquote,
- 25:04Speaker 5: boy names. Like, I love it when a female is
- 25:06Speaker 5: named Kyle. I think that's so cute.
- 25:08Speaker 3: I love it because I think that it's cool having
- 25:11Speaker 3: the name Ricky.
- 25:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 25:12Speaker 3: It just took me a long time to get here.
- 25:13Speaker 1: It's great.
- 25:14Speaker 3: But I have a whole reason why I was named Ricky.
- 25:16Speaker 3: And we want to know what or who you were
- 25:19Speaker 3: named after. If you have a whole reason why you
- 25:21Speaker 3: have your name.
- 25:22Speaker 2: 615-737-9107. Share it with us. Let us know. Ricky, Zach,
- 25:27Speaker 2: and Mano in the morning.
- 25:28Speaker 1: On 107.5 The River.
- 25:30Speaker 2: We have Katina in Lebanon on the phone. That's a
- 25:33Speaker 2: very unique name, Katina.
- 25:34Speaker 4: Yes, thank you. It took me years to come to
- 25:37Speaker 4: terms with it. But I found out when I was
- 25:39Speaker 4: 16 that I was named after my dad's first wife.
- 25:45Speaker 3: Whoa, Katina. I am blown away by that.
- 25:48Speaker 5: So did your mom know that that was his first
- 25:51Speaker 5: wife's name?
- 25:52Speaker 4: Yeah. It was a 70s, free love, no broth.
- 25:56Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 25:57Speaker 3: Katina, hey, if everybody was okay with it, then I
- 26:00Speaker 3: guess it's not that big of a deal. But how
- 26:02Speaker 3: do you feel about it now, Katina?
- 26:04Speaker 4: I love it now. I went by Tina for years.
- 26:07Speaker 4: They didn't have any names picked out. My dad said Katina.
- 26:11Speaker 4: My mom said okay. And then my aunt was like, well,
- 26:14Speaker 4: what if it's a boy? Because back then they didn't know.
- 26:17Speaker 4: And my dad said Dylan, like Bob Dylan, because that
- 26:21Speaker 4: was his favorite.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Okay.
- 26:22Speaker 4: And I found out that story when my son was four,
- 26:26Speaker 4: and his name is Dylan.
- 26:29Speaker 1: Oh!
- 26:29Speaker 3: I love that it comes full circle.
- 26:31Speaker 2: You didn't even know they had that as a potential
- 26:32Speaker 2: name for you, and it just happened to.
- 26:35Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 26:38Speaker 2: Well, Katina, thank you for calling and sharing with us.
- 26:39Speaker 2: That's a great name. We're glad you're embracing it.
- 26:41Speaker 4: Thanks.
- 26:42Speaker 6: Have a great day.
- 26:44Speaker 3: Cheryl in Nashville. Tell us how you got your name.
- 26:46Speaker 7: I was given my name by my grandfather. They're Cheryl
- 26:50Speaker 7: Glenn and I am Cheryl Glenna.
- 26:54Speaker 3: Wait, so your grandfather's name is Cheryl?
- 26:56Speaker 1: Yes.
- 26:57Speaker 3: Cheryl Glenn and you're Cheryl Glenna.
- 26:59Speaker 2: That's adorable. That's really cute. Were your parents totally cool
- 27:04Speaker 2: letting him name you? My mother was very pissed at
- 27:09Speaker 2: my father for a very long time.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Wow.
- 27:15Speaker 3: See, I love that because my dad always tells me
- 27:18Speaker 3: I was named after him. And my mom always tells
- 27:20Speaker 3: me that it was like this random name that they
- 27:22Speaker 3: came up with. So they both have two different variations
- 27:25Speaker 3: of where I got my name from. But she did
- 27:28Speaker 3: not want me to be Ricky.
- 27:29Speaker 2: She didn't want it. Sorry, your mom says it's a
- 27:33Speaker 2: random name. Your dad's name is Rick. Your name is Ricky. Oh,
- 27:37Speaker 2: how random is that?
- 27:38Speaker 3: My parents hate each other, Kevin. My parents are divorced, Cheryl.
- 27:42Speaker 3: They've been divorced my entire life, pretty much. And they just, like,
- 27:45Speaker 3: do not like each other. So my mom's always like,
- 27:47Speaker 3: it was random. And I'm like, okay, I know that's
- 27:50Speaker 3: not true.
- 27:51Speaker 2: She refuses to admit it.
- 27:52Speaker 3: She will not like it.
- 27:53Speaker 1: She's in denial.
- 27:54Speaker 3: She did not want me to be Ricky. She literally
- 27:57Speaker 3: tried to stray away from it.
- 27:58Speaker 1: It just.
- 27:59Speaker 2: It's a whole thing.
- 28:00Speaker 1: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 28:02Speaker 2: Ricky wants you to start respecting short people. And that
- 28:06Speaker 2: is the topic of today's Daily Double Tap on 107.5
- 28:09Speaker 2: The River.
- 28:10Speaker 3: There are a lot of reasons why you should respect
- 28:12Speaker 3: short people. But this guy kind of sums up a
- 28:14Speaker 3: way that I think will get through all your thick
- 28:17Speaker 3: skulls to start respecting us.
- 28:20Speaker 2: And I wasn't joking when I said today's Daily Double
- 28:22Speaker 2: Tap is short like Ricky. It's six seconds long. Here
- 28:24Speaker 2: we go. I just realized that without any short people,
- 28:28Speaker 2: you wouldn't feel tall. So this is your sign to
- 28:30Speaker 2: start respecting short people. That's a good point. Kevin, I
- 28:33Speaker 2: respect you so much. Zach, you're like an inch and
- 28:36Speaker 2: a half taller than me.
- 28:37Speaker 5: That's not factual information.
- 28:39Speaker 2: Yeah, well, you got... Okay.
- 28:42Speaker 3: Kevin has a hard time being 5'7.
- 28:44Speaker 5: I'm 5'10.
- 28:44Speaker 3: He's a little upset with what Zach just said to
- 28:49Speaker 3: him because of that.
- 28:50Speaker 2: The average height for a man in this country is average.
- 28:52Speaker 3: Listen, I just accept the fact that I'm 4'11. I've
- 28:55Speaker 3: never tried to be 5 foot.
- 28:57Speaker 2: I've never tried to change. I've always respected the fact
- 28:59Speaker 2: that you can own that you are 4'11. That I'm 4'11.
- 29:01Speaker 3: And then there's people like Kevin who just can't... Come
- 29:04Speaker 3: to terms.
- 29:05Speaker 2: Kevin, I'm trying to respect you, okay? How did this
- 29:07Speaker 2: get about me? This is not about me. You know
- 29:09Speaker 2: what I do like, Ricky? And I'm saying this to
- 29:11Speaker 2: you and all, you know, of you people. I like it.
- 29:17Speaker 2: whoa i like at the grocery store when somebody asked
- 29:20Speaker 2: me to reach something to grab something like higher.
- 29:22Speaker 3: Oh because then he feels like he's then i.
- 29:24Speaker 2: Feel tall yeah it feels.
- 29:25Speaker 3: Nice he's like oh my god i'm not five five.
- 29:28Speaker 2: I'm actually out to help just now no problem.
- 29:32Speaker 3: I have a ladder right here i'll go grab.
- 29:34Speaker 2: It if you're asking people to do that at the
- 29:35Speaker 2: store or something don't think you're inconveniencing them because they
- 29:38Speaker 2: like it is what i'm.
- 29:39Speaker 3: Saying i have to do it quite often.
- 29:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm sure you do. It's nice for everybody.
- 29:42Speaker 3: Or I have to climb the shelves and they don't
- 29:44Speaker 3: like it when you climb the shelves. Fun fact.
- 29:46Speaker 2: That's good. I do respect you and I apologize for
- 29:49Speaker 2: any jokes I've ever made and I am average height.
- 29:52Speaker 3: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning on 107.5 The River.
