- 0:43Speaker 3: You're bring everybody. Oh yes, but Thursday morning after a Wednesday,
- 0:55Speaker 3: and that's after a Tuesday.
- 0:57Speaker 4: That's how That's how it works, buddy.
- 0:59Speaker 3: That is I'm just for out.
- 1:00Speaker 2: Notice how much time I take to actually contemplate and
- 1:03Speaker 2: try to figure out those numbers. There are certain numbers
- 1:07Speaker 2: that I have no idea what they are to this day.
- 1:10Speaker 2: And I'm in my seventies, right, I still do not
- 1:14Speaker 2: know how many days each month pass? Which is thirty one?
- 1:19Speaker 2: Which is thirty That's what can I tell you? Okay, fair,
- 1:26Speaker 2: I know there's a leaper year, right or is that
- 1:30Speaker 2: leper leaper year? That's twenty eight except for Leap Day
- 1:35Speaker 2: or Leap year.
- 1:36Speaker 3: Is twenty nine. But that's about it, all right, guys,
- 1:39Speaker 3: let me say hello.
- 1:40Speaker 2: The whole crowd is here, as always start with you will,
- 1:44Speaker 2: good morning, Good morning, Bill. So you went to a
- 1:47Speaker 2: Palestinian restaurant last night, clearly and stole the tablecloth and
- 1:51Speaker 2: made a shirt out of it.
- 1:52Speaker 1: No, No, I don't know how long the month is
- 1:55Speaker 1: either quite frankly, Bill, If it makes you feel better.
- 1:58Speaker 4: There's thirty one days this one, everybody really.
- 2:01Speaker 3: Oh.
- 2:01Speaker 2: I was at Costco yesterday with a shocker, and so
- 2:05Speaker 2: I'm in the checkout line because I was buying stamps
- 2:07Speaker 2: and you have to be in the checkout line to
- 2:09Speaker 2: buy stamps usually.
- 2:10Speaker 3: I go through the self serve.
- 2:12Speaker 2: And there's a guy behind me and he has a
- 2:14Speaker 2: Hawaiian shirt and I pointed out and I said, oh,
- 2:17Speaker 2: a Costco shirt And he said, no, not at all,
- 2:21Speaker 2: and he said, I've had this shirt for forty years.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Older guy. I said, forty years. Shirt looks great, by
- 2:28Speaker 2: the way, and I said, how is that and he
- 2:32Speaker 2: said it's a hemp shirt.
- 2:34Speaker 3: It's made out of hemp. Wow.
- 2:38Speaker 2: You know, I'm looking at it to see if there
- 2:40Speaker 2: were any burnmarks. For the parts that he smoked. You know,
- 2:43Speaker 2: he took it apart and put it into a pipe.
- 2:45Speaker 2: But I, the company buys them from is out of business.
- 2:49Speaker 2: You can only buy them an eBay except there are
- 2:51Speaker 2: a few companies in Orange County that make him shirts.
- 2:53Speaker 2: I had no idea whole thing about him shirts. Liked
- 2:56Speaker 2: it a lot, all right. I just wanted to share
- 2:58Speaker 2: that with you, Neil, good morning, can hear you?
- 3:04Speaker 4: I said, howdy howdy?
- 3:05Speaker 2: Oh there you go. You know what, turn off your
- 3:08Speaker 2: mic and you'll sound better. Howdy howdy, cono, good morning,
- 3:14Speaker 2: Good morning Bill.
- 3:15Speaker 5: Also, fun fact, did you know if you added a month,
- 3:18Speaker 5: every single month would have exactly twenty eight days. October
- 3:22Speaker 5: oct would be eight, December, which is Deco, would be ten.
- 3:26Speaker 4: But I don't know why we don't do that.
- 3:30Speaker 5: Okay, I didn't understand you wanted my mic month in
- 3:34Speaker 5: the year thirteen months, every single month would have to
- 3:36Speaker 5: exactly twenty eight days. You wouldn't have to worry about
- 3:39Speaker 5: this thirty days, thirty one day.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Oh yeah, no idea. Okay, Okay, understood. I finally got
- 3:44Speaker 2: that right. I'm going to go to my MENSA meeting
- 3:46Speaker 2: right after the show this morning. Absolutely.
- 3:50Speaker 6: The show started with us saying that it's saying how
- 3:53Speaker 6: smart we weren't and how great and brilliant, and then
- 3:55Speaker 6: you did that.
- 3:56Speaker 3: Well, that's leaving though. That was me. I know that.
- 4:00Speaker 2: You what I'm saying, Yeah, I understand. All right, Well,
- 4:03Speaker 2: and hello to you.
- 4:06Speaker 3: And Amy. Finally, good morning.
- 4:09Speaker 7: Good morning, Billy.
- 4:10Speaker 2: I'm watching a documentary on Netflix about quarterbacks. Yeah, and
- 4:15Speaker 2: it's kind of neat, you know, the ins and outs
- 4:18Speaker 2: of a life and a quarterback. And I think his
- 4:21Speaker 2: cousins and Ma Holmes is one of them. And Moriorty,
- 4:27Speaker 2: you know who is in the all of the Sherlock
- 4:32Speaker 2: Holmes films and Moriorty, yes him. All right, I guess
- 4:39Speaker 2: that's enough you know, of.
- 4:43Speaker 3: Of morning banter. Right here we go. The game is
- 4:50Speaker 3: a foot, Yes, that's true.
- 4:52Speaker 2: The game is afoot. That's among people that are are
- 4:56Speaker 2: somewhat amputated legwise. Because the game is is a foot.
- 5:01Speaker 4: Today's going to be rough.
- 5:02Speaker 3: It's going to be a rough day, it really is.
- 5:05Speaker 3: All right, guys, let's do it.
- 5:07Speaker 2: It's time for handle on the news on this Tuesday
- 5:10Speaker 2: morning or Thursday morning, July twenty three, Amy, Neil and
- 5:14Speaker 2: me lead Sorry, What a shocker. The House yesterday passed
- 5:20Speaker 2: the Defense Policy Bill that incorporates the president's request for
- 5:25Speaker 2: one point one five trillion dollars in spending for the
- 5:31Speaker 2: national security and that includes the Department of Defense as
- 5:36Speaker 2: oh and changing the name of the Department of Defense
- 5:39Speaker 2: to the Department of War. Of course, also includes a
- 5:43Speaker 2: pay raise five to seven percent for service members and
- 5:46Speaker 2: man Usually these pass pretty quickly, all right, Not this one,
- 5:52Speaker 2: two sixteen to two twelve. How's that for a razor
- 5:55Speaker 2: thin win. And the Democrats just upset about the decent,
- 6:00Speaker 2: credibly stiff increases for the Pentagon and at the same
- 6:03Speaker 2: time massive cuts for social programs, medical grants, research, gutting
- 6:12Speaker 2: all kinds of agencies that deal with well people's lives, education, etc.
- 6:19Speaker 2: It's basically a question of philosophy. What's more important A
- 6:24Speaker 2: prohibition of gender related medical care under the medical Military
- 6:29Speaker 2: Health Program, that's their insurance plan. And it's just and
- 6:34Speaker 2: of course, whatever the president wants. Mike Johnson says, of course,
- 6:38Speaker 2: we'll do that, mister President. Mike Johnson is i have
- 6:42Speaker 2: said many times, is Speaker of the House and has
- 6:46Speaker 2: said the job of the House is to further anything
- 6:50Speaker 2: the President wants not being independent. Just we're here effectively
- 6:56Speaker 2: as an arm of the executive branch. That's what it's
- 7:00Speaker 2: all about. President says the same thing. I'm going to
- 7:05Speaker 2: do what I'm going to do when I expect you
- 7:06Speaker 2: to back it up. Mike Johnson says, yes, sir, and
- 7:09Speaker 2: hopes for a treat and sits on his haunches and goes.
- 7:15Speaker 3: And then gets his treat. Said, roll over the.
- 7:20Speaker 8: Said from the mouth of the guy that called me
- 7:22Speaker 8: a Nazi because I disagreed with him this week.
- 7:24Speaker 3: That is correct? All right?
- 7:28Speaker 4: Uh? Are we on No.
- 7:30Speaker 7: Number two?
- 7:32Speaker 4: That's you Aby.
- 7:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 7:33Speaker 6: The Hooties have made good on a threat. They apparently
- 7:37Speaker 6: have targeted two Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea.
- 7:42Speaker 6: The group, which is in Iron backed proxy, said in
- 7:47Speaker 6: a statement it had carried out the strikes because the
- 7:50Speaker 6: Saudi tankers were violating a blockade that it announced just.
- 7:55Speaker 7: A few days ago.
- 7:57Speaker 6: It claims the strikes caused large fires on both of
- 8:00Speaker 6: the ships who were traveling through the Red Seat.
- 8:03Speaker 2: This war is expanding at a pretty rapid rating. By
- 8:06Speaker 2: the way, did the Houthis first start this fight? And
- 8:11Speaker 2: the question is who thy's on first?
- 8:16Speaker 3: Okay? That didn't work either. Oh okay, who these that's right? Hey,
- 8:22Speaker 3: blowfish pay. Oh well, hey, we're starting this morning, aren't we.
- 8:31Speaker 8: By the way, we get this every time you mentioned it.
- 8:34Speaker 8: Handle Chris sends in thirty days has September, April, June,
- 8:40Speaker 8: and November. The rest have thirty one, except for February,
- 8:44Speaker 8: which has twenty eight.
- 8:46Speaker 4: I don't remember that you don't remember any of our names.
- 8:50Speaker 2: That's also true, which Chris, by the way.
- 8:54Speaker 3: Which Chris. Oh, just a listener. Oh, it's just a listener.
- 8:58Speaker 2: I thought you were talking about Risks as the former
- 9:02Speaker 2: head of our news.
- 9:02Speaker 3: Department, which I no longer exists.
- 9:05Speaker 4: I'm sure he's not up listening to you.
- 9:07Speaker 3: I hate he never was uplisting in me anyway. As
- 9:12Speaker 3: among ahead, I'm sorry, no, go ahead.
- 9:14Speaker 8: Los Angeles officials are aiming to reopen the Sunset Boulevard
- 9:18Speaker 8: area there by the end of the week that massive
- 9:21Speaker 8: water meat break, releasing some seventeen million gallons of water
- 9:26Speaker 8: onto the streets of West Hollywood. Of course, I can't
- 9:28Speaker 8: water my lawn but two days.
- 9:30Speaker 3: A week, but that's okay.
- 9:31Speaker 6: And they did suffer a bit of a setback because
- 9:35Speaker 6: they were making good progress on it. It's not in
- 9:37Speaker 6: your story. But as they were getting ready to lay
- 9:40Speaker 6: concrete last night, they noticed that there was water pulling
- 9:43Speaker 6: up from the slurry that they had laid.
- 9:46Speaker 7: Yes, so they've got a new leak.
- 9:48Speaker 3: So that's great.
- 9:49Speaker 7: They're excavating to find that.
- 9:51Speaker 8: Well, and they have to do the whole thing of
- 9:52Speaker 8: checking the water to make sure it's clean again, putting
- 9:54Speaker 8: in more slurry.
- 9:55Speaker 2: Because it's a mess and one hundred year old pipes,
- 9:58Speaker 2: as Neil has pointed out several times, far past the
- 10:01Speaker 2: life expectancy of those pipes.
- 10:03Speaker 6: Putting guardrails on themselves, sort of. The House has narrowly
- 10:09Speaker 6: passed a bill to add new restrictions on lawmakers trading stocks. Now,
- 10:14Speaker 6: this measure that passed stopped short of an outright ban,
- 10:17Speaker 6: but it did pass two thirty two to one. Ninety
- 10:20Speaker 6: eight thirteen Democrats joined Republicans to support it. The measure
- 10:24Speaker 6: will prevent lawmakers, their spouses and dependent children from buying
- 10:28Speaker 6: new stocks of publicly traded companies while they serve in Congress.
- 10:33Speaker 6: But they can still buy private stocks. They can keep
- 10:36Speaker 6: stocks they already had before getting into Congress, and they
- 10:39Speaker 6: can maintain certain investment funds.
- 10:43Speaker 2: Youd think that by law, they would all go into
- 10:46Speaker 2: a blind trust, so it doesn't matter what how they
- 10:51Speaker 2: vote and there's no conflict.
- 10:52Speaker 3: But that'll never ever happen.
- 10:54Speaker 7: Nancy Pelosi on Nancy Pelosi.
- 10:57Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 10:58Speaker 4: The first thing that came to mind.
- 11:00Speaker 3: Yeah, no, I understand that.
- 11:01Speaker 2: By the way, I'd like to know the figures, don't
- 11:03Speaker 2: We don't get the figures from Nancy Pelosi.
- 11:05Speaker 4: Yeah, they're around two.
- 11:06Speaker 2: I'd like to see him, because we certainly get the
- 11:08Speaker 2: figures from the money that President Trump has made and
- 11:12Speaker 2: is making. Those figures are readily available, and the Democrats
- 11:15Speaker 2: push those out pretty hard, like every five minutes. I'd
- 11:18Speaker 2: like to know how much money Nancy Pelosi her husband
- 11:22Speaker 2: while he's sitting in jail for a misdemeanor hit and run,
- 11:25Speaker 2: but how.
- 11:25Speaker 3: Much he actually how much they actually.
- 11:28Speaker 8: Made between two hundred and fifty and two hundred and
- 11:31Speaker 8: eighty million.
- 11:33Speaker 2: Now, how much of that is a respond directly responsible
- 11:37Speaker 2: as a result of Nancy Pelosi's influence?
- 11:39Speaker 3: Now I don't know that answer.
- 11:41Speaker 7: Well, her return.
- 11:44Speaker 6: Over her thirty seven years in Congress is almost seventeen percent.
- 11:51Speaker 6: It is what they're saying, We're like other if you
- 11:53Speaker 6: have a good year, it's like seven or eight percent.
- 11:55Speaker 2: Yeah, but seventeen percent is I know, that's really healthy.
- 11:59Speaker 2: I mean understand, I mean that is. I mean there
- 12:01Speaker 2: are funds that do that with winning money managers, fund
- 12:06Speaker 2: managers every year.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Though.
- 12:08Speaker 2: No, it has to be average. It has to be
- 12:11Speaker 2: It's not seventeen percent every years. It has to be
- 12:13Speaker 2: an average. The stock market does not do that. There
- 12:15Speaker 2: are good days, there are not good days, and that's
- 12:17Speaker 2: why they average it out.
- 12:19Speaker 3: Versus a lot of good days. Yeah.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Well, you know, but her husband's a money manager, so
- 12:24Speaker 2: I don't know how he was doing beforehand, and I
- 12:27Speaker 2: don't know the answer.
- 12:28Speaker 3: Did she Was it advantageous? How could it not be?
- 12:32Speaker 2: But when we talk about Trump making one point one
- 12:35Speaker 2: billion dollars off a crypto company that he founded after
- 12:42Speaker 2: he said crypto is horrible, it's terrible and people were
- 12:45Speaker 2: going to jail, and that turned around completely.
- 12:49Speaker 3: That's the difference. Also, the difference is the presidency.
- 12:53Speaker 2: It's more offensive when a president makes money than when
- 12:56Speaker 2: a when a congress person makes money. I just like
- 13:01Speaker 2: to know, by the way, it's not to say that
- 13:02Speaker 2: Nancy Pulos didn't take advantage of it.
- 13:04Speaker 3: I just want.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Yeah, it is, it is. And that's to say that
- 13:09Speaker 2: her husband made no money outside of the connections with
- 13:14Speaker 2: Nancy Pelosi. I don't know the answer to that.
- 13:16Speaker 4: They should drop the hammer on him. A French professional.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Money That is funny. That is lyned Azure. I'm telling you.
- 13:25Speaker 8: French professional model recruiter who for over a decade arranged
- 13:30Speaker 8: arranged four models to come to Jeffrey Epstein's island there
- 13:40Speaker 8: was found dead in his home in Paris on Monday.
- 13:43Speaker 8: Daniel said, I'm going with that. His body was found
- 13:47Speaker 8: in his house in a little suburb there in the
- 13:49Speaker 8: French capital, and the nautopsy will be performed to determine
- 13:56Speaker 8: the cause of desk, which they obviously don't mention here.
- 14:04Speaker 6: Playing catch with your dad could cost you a lot
- 14:07Speaker 6: because it's illegal. This is a like one hundred year
- 14:11Speaker 6: old law in well almost one hundred years old. In
- 14:13Speaker 6: nineteen thirty six, LA made it a misdemeanor to play baseball, basketball,
- 14:18Speaker 6: soccer or any other ballgame on a street or sidewalk.
- 14:22Speaker 6: Of course, that was the time when a lot of
- 14:23Speaker 6: kids were outside because there was no TV and no
- 14:26Speaker 6: social media and no video games. But nearly a century later,
- 14:32Speaker 6: council member Bob Blumenfield says he wants to cut the
- 14:36Speaker 6: obscure law from the books. Apparently you could get fined
- 14:40Speaker 6: up to one thousand dollars and up to six months
- 14:43Speaker 6: in jail for violating the law, you know, which makes
- 14:47Speaker 6: it illegal to play catch on the sidewalk in front
- 14:50Speaker 6: of your house with your kid or maybe a group
- 14:53Speaker 6: of kids playing soccer.
- 14:54Speaker 3: Yeah, that never stops anybody, of course not. We all
- 14:57Speaker 3: played his kid.
- 14:58Speaker 2: As a matter of fact, a law I just recently
- 15:00Speaker 2: pasted a few years ago made it a felony to
- 15:04Speaker 2: if you have sex with the dead body. It doesn't
- 15:06Speaker 2: change it whether it's a felon or not. People still
- 15:09Speaker 2: do in mortuaries, you know, they have sex with bodies.
- 15:12Speaker 3: All the time. That's a reference to amy as you
- 15:15Speaker 3: give me the home.
- 15:16Speaker 2: Look, that's a reference to a segment I used to
- 15:20Speaker 2: do every year, and I would go cannibalism, the victimless crime.
- 15:25Speaker 4: Remember that, not cannibalism, neilia.
- 15:28Speaker 2: It's right, necrophilia. Thank you for reminding the necrophilia the
- 15:32Speaker 2: U taboos. Yeah, the innocent crime because it wasn't a crime.
- 15:37Speaker 2: It wasn't a crime. Necrophilia was not a crime until recently.
- 15:41Speaker 2: See these they take I don't know why they stopped
- 15:45Speaker 2: that stuff with the laws that make no sense.
- 15:48Speaker 3: Okay, moving on, Yeah.
- 15:50Speaker 8: That law exists with the baseball But you can ride
- 15:53Speaker 8: a twenty five mile per hour e bike on the
- 15:56Speaker 8: sidewalk dodging humans. That will change, you know, really gotten
- 16:00Speaker 8: together and fill some potholes.
- 16:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know if that's legal, by the way,
- 16:04Speaker 3: but it doesn't matter.
- 16:05Speaker 4: It's questions. Do whatever you want.
- 16:07Speaker 3: It's moving on, all right.
- 16:09Speaker 8: Bill Gates, if you remember, his name was banted about
- 16:11Speaker 8: quite a bit in another Epstein review right here, a
- 16:15Speaker 8: lawyer's investigating the Gates Foundation and looking at specifically the
- 16:20Speaker 8: ties to the Jeffrey Epstein files and the like, said
- 16:25Speaker 8: that Epstein didn't have access to Bill Gates' personal communications
- 16:29Speaker 8: or the investigators didn't have access to the personal communications
- 16:33Speaker 8: or review interactions with the billionaire's private office, but two
- 16:38Speaker 8: longtime employees had deep ties to the sex offenders apparently,
- 16:42Speaker 8: and this review determined that Gates and the foundation employees
- 16:47Speaker 8: met with Epstein about thirty times over several years, despite
- 16:52Speaker 8: warnings from foundation staff as a matter of fact, which
- 16:55Speaker 8: makes it.
- 16:55Speaker 2: A little Yeah, That's the part that is tough because
- 16:59Speaker 2: I think the foundation and it is a thousand employees,
- 17:01Speaker 2: and how is the find out You're going to know
- 17:03Speaker 2: who those employees hang with outside of work.
- 17:07Speaker 3: But the fact that they if their top top, yeah.
- 17:10Speaker 2: And if they're been told about it, that is a
- 17:12Speaker 2: little bit more problematic, to say the least.
- 17:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:15Speaker 4: So he apologized.
- 17:16Speaker 8: Gates has apologized and said that he had never did
- 17:19Speaker 8: any illicit activity and he's sorry that he has He.
- 17:24Speaker 3: Is I mean, you know, he is mortified. You can
- 17:26Speaker 3: see that. I mean he is troubled by.
- 17:27Speaker 4: That, mortified that information is going to come out.
- 17:30Speaker 2: No, I think mortified that it did come out. And
- 17:32Speaker 2: the connection. I don't think he was mortified that the
- 17:34Speaker 2: information came out. And he's mortified as to the connection.
- 17:38Speaker 3: Who is it?
- 17:39Speaker 2: As Scott Bennett, is that the Secretary of the Treasury.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Do I have that name correctly?
- 17:43Speaker 3: Bessent? That's it? Who who said that? If I get
- 17:49Speaker 3: the story correctly.
- 17:50Speaker 2: He said that he had absolutely no connection to Epstein
- 17:54Speaker 2: and never had been on his island. Uh, And it
- 17:59Speaker 2: turned out there was evidence of him and his entire
- 18:02Speaker 2: family being on the island.
- 18:06Speaker 7: Was that best center was that somebody else.
- 18:08Speaker 3: I don't know. That's why.
- 18:11Speaker 2: We have to figure out who that is, because if
- 18:13Speaker 2: I don't want to be sued by Bessant.
- 18:14Speaker 4: So what do you think Gates is innocent?
- 18:18Speaker 2: I don't think he went on the island and said
- 18:19Speaker 2: he didn't. I don't think he had much connection with Epstein.
- 18:21Speaker 2: I think they ran in him. I think he did
- 18:23Speaker 2: run into him in social circus circles, philanthropic circles.
- 18:27Speaker 3: I think that's the case.
- 18:29Speaker 7: It was Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick.
- 18:31Speaker 2: Oh, that's it Lutnik. Yeah, I stand corrected, and so
- 18:35Speaker 2: he was. They said they have evidence, plane logs, et cetera.
- 18:41Speaker 2: And so he never said I am wrong. He never
- 18:46Speaker 2: said oops. When they brought it up to him, he goes,
- 18:49Speaker 2: he said, well, we never talked about sex. We never
- 18:52Speaker 2: had any connection with his sexual escapades. But wait a minute,
- 18:55Speaker 2: you said you were never on the island, and here
- 18:58Speaker 2: it is now. Yeah, good luck with all of it.
- 19:02Speaker 2: I'm discussed that, I'm leaving. I can't take it anymore.
- 19:06Speaker 2: It's your show now, Neil, Nope, No, thanks, you're welcome.
- 19:12Speaker 6: I'm all for an eye for an eye on this one.
- 19:14Speaker 6: So they've had these really bad wildfires in Italy, and
- 19:20Speaker 6: it turns out that there are arsonists spreading those fires
- 19:26Speaker 6: by tying flammable, soaked rags to cat's tails and then
- 19:32Speaker 6: releasing them into fields.
- 19:34Speaker 4: Oh horrific it is.
- 19:38Speaker 3: That is horrific, and.
- 19:39Speaker 6: It's not the first time that that's happened. In twenty
- 19:42Speaker 6: sixteen they say that in Sicily the mob used cats
- 19:47Speaker 6: to start forest fires in a national park, and then
- 19:50Speaker 6: the next year the same tactic was used to set
- 19:53Speaker 6: some fires outside naples near Mount Vesuvius.
- 19:58Speaker 3: Cono. I don't know why you're laughing, and you find
- 20:01Speaker 3: that funny. Another reason to have cats?
- 20:05Speaker 2: Oh, I see right, don't have cats, or if you
- 20:08Speaker 2: do have cats, you want you want tailless cats?
- 20:12Speaker 3: Are there such thing as cats with no tails? There
- 20:14Speaker 3: are no fur to have? Some have no fur.
- 20:18Speaker 2: I know the hairless cats don't have hair, and Neil
- 20:22Speaker 2: and I are both hairless on our.
- 20:25Speaker 3: Heads with it.
- 20:28Speaker 7: In the sixties, they would have said you were hairless cats.
- 20:31Speaker 2: Oh God, she jumped right into this. I want to
- 20:35Speaker 2: point this out for those of you who had that
- 20:37Speaker 2: were started listening when Amy came aboard. She was so
- 20:40Speaker 2: straight laced, she would never utter. I mean just straight
- 20:44Speaker 2: ahead though, let me give you the news. Okay, this
- 20:46Speaker 2: is kfi Amy King here and now it's she's dove
- 20:52Speaker 2: right into us into what we do. Good for you, Okay,
- 20:56Speaker 2: moving on, all right. Secret Service are preparing again.
- 21:02Speaker 8: This time is their second take at this year's White
- 21:05Speaker 8: House Correspondence dinner, already controversial in so many ways. On Friday,
- 21:11Speaker 8: you've got the director Sean Koran looking over how he's
- 21:17Speaker 8: going to defend and handle security at this dinner because
- 21:22Speaker 8: of the shooter from last time. Although he does stand
- 21:25Speaker 8: by and say, you know, the man who was staying
- 21:28Speaker 8: as a guest at the Hotel Pride to the dinner
- 21:31Speaker 8: was stopped over one hundred yards from the podium, even
- 21:34Speaker 8: though he was.
- 21:35Speaker 4: Shooting into the area.
- 21:37Speaker 8: He says the system did work, but it was shut
- 21:41Speaker 8: down back in April.
- 21:42Speaker 4: They're going to do another one.
- 21:43Speaker 3: Now.
- 21:43Speaker 2: Wasn't he on the floor above the entrance to the ballroom?
- 21:47Speaker 2: If I'm not mistaken, I thought he was on the
- 21:50Speaker 2: level of the ballroom. I had heard or read that
- 21:52Speaker 2: he was on the floor above, and the head of
- 21:55Speaker 2: Secret Services, yeah, this is what we do. The guy
- 21:57Speaker 2: tried to breach. He got through that first line and
- 22:00Speaker 2: then we stopped him cold. I mean that I guess
- 22:03Speaker 2: that works. I mean, does it does it not work?
- 22:07Speaker 2: If people don't even try? Does that work as a statement?
- 22:12Speaker 2: In any case, you get my points? Yeah, yeah, you
- 22:14Speaker 2: get and you get and you can get my point. Also,
- 22:16Speaker 2: I'm fascinated by the White House Correspondence Press dinner that
- 22:22Speaker 2: the president is going to appear at. With vast majority
- 22:24Speaker 2: of presidents I have, I think in recent memory, it's
- 22:27Speaker 2: all about correspondence ripping into the president.
- 22:31Speaker 3: It's a roast, is what it is.
- 22:34Speaker 2: Oh yeah, and I and he is going to sit
- 22:37Speaker 2: there and take that kind of attack. I mean, you
- 22:41Speaker 2: have to have a pretty thick skin. You remember when
- 22:45Speaker 2: it was Imus was the head speaker at the Bill
- 22:49Speaker 2: Clinton one of the correspondent dinners where Clinton was there,
- 22:52Speaker 2: and I Mus immediately got into talking about Clinton and
- 22:56Speaker 2: his sexual escapades and Monica Lewinsky and orals x uh.
- 23:01Speaker 2: And it was pretty uncomfortable to say the least. And
- 23:05Speaker 2: Clinton is there on the dayais right next to Ims
- 23:07Speaker 2: with this rictus smile on his face.
- 23:11Speaker 3: That was tough. So I can't wait to say.
- 23:13Speaker 2: And they usually broadcast these things too, or at least
- 23:16Speaker 2: video them for the news.
- 23:18Speaker 4: The worst part is when Monica Leawoodsky came out from
- 23:21Speaker 4: another table crying.
- 23:22Speaker 3: That's right.
- 23:23Speaker 4: Jokes, Yeah, that's true.
- 23:26Speaker 2: That's a great story about you know, under her under
- 23:30Speaker 2: the resolute desk while Bill Clinton is talking to yes
- 23:34Speaker 2: sir Era fat on an international calle.
- 23:37Speaker 3: Remember that story.
- 23:39Speaker 2: And they knew, boy, they knew there was something afoot
- 23:41Speaker 2: when Clinton's were singing yes, sir, that's my baby, Na sir,
- 23:47Speaker 2: I don't mean maybe every time he yelled yes, he's like, well,
- 23:51Speaker 2: actually it's yes, sir.
- 23:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 23:55Speaker 6: What's worse than cyclosporiasis outbreak?
- 24:01Speaker 3: Ah?
- 24:02Speaker 2: I was about to say being chopped up by an
- 24:04Speaker 2: axe murderer and put into a blender. I thought that
- 24:06Speaker 2: would be worse, But okay, this is worse. Yeah.
- 24:10Speaker 6: The FDA says it's investigating another outbreak of cyclospora parasite,
- 24:16Speaker 6: seventy two cases of it. The latest outbreak is happening
- 24:22Speaker 6: apparently in the Midwest. Of course, cyclosporiasists. Is that explosive
- 24:30Speaker 6: diarrhea infection.
- 24:32Speaker 2: Yeah, and they don't know where this is coming from.
- 24:33Speaker 2: I'm willing to bet it is not coming from Taylor
- 24:36Speaker 2: Farms either. They figured out where else it is, and
- 24:41Speaker 2: they'll find I have.
- 24:42Speaker 4: To add explosive, Yeah, it is.
- 24:44Speaker 2: There's difference in regular diarrhea and explosive diarrhea. There is
- 24:49Speaker 2: not only in terms of sound effects, but also in
- 24:52Speaker 2: terms of physically how it works.
- 24:55Speaker 8: Okay, okay, measles, Hey, don't worry about that, old buddy yours.
- 25:01Speaker 8: There's all kinds of things to worry about, like measles,
- 25:05Speaker 8: meaesel cases. We talked a little bit yesterday about some
- 25:08Speaker 8: of the cases going up and up and up over
- 25:11Speaker 8: the years, but now they have doubled ratch here in
- 25:14Speaker 8: California so far this year compared to last year. Twenty
- 25:18Speaker 8: twenty six is barely half over, and we're already looking
- 25:21Speaker 8: at massive amounts. California's confirmed fifty two measle cases in
- 25:25Speaker 8: the first six and a half months of the year,
- 25:27Speaker 8: more than double the twenty five cases reported in all
- 25:32Speaker 8: of twenty twenty five. And you know, in this particular case,
- 25:38Speaker 8: of the fifty two cases, forty nine patients were either
- 25:41Speaker 8: unvaccinated or had an unknown vaccination record.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Hmmm, isn't that interesting When vaccines aren't prevalent, look what
- 25:51Speaker 2: ends up happening, and measles is one of those fun
- 25:54Speaker 2: diseases is probably the most contagious disease or symptom or
- 26:01Speaker 2: illness on the planet. You go in a room with
- 26:06Speaker 2: someone as neasel, measles and measles, and it turns out
- 26:09Speaker 2: that if you are not vaccinated, enjoy yourself with measles.
- 26:15Speaker 6: Handle's predicted war on water may be coming. The combined
- 26:20Speaker 6: water level of the two largest reservoirs in the US,
- 26:25Speaker 6: Lake Powell and Lake Mead, has fallen to an historic low,
- 26:30Speaker 6: threatening a water system that supplies tens of millions of
- 26:33Speaker 6: people with water and power.
- 26:35Speaker 7: Together.
- 26:35Speaker 6: The two reservoirs haven't been this low since nineteen fifty seven.
- 26:40Speaker 6: Jack Schmidt is the director of the Center for Colorado
- 26:43Speaker 6: River Studies at Utah State, and he says it's a
- 26:45Speaker 6: milestone in the history of water storage in the Colorado
- 26:48Speaker 6: River basin.
- 26:49Speaker 2: Now, do people think when they go to Lake Mead
- 26:51Speaker 2: or they go to Lake Powell, they think of those
- 26:56Speaker 2: as water reservoirs. No one does. They're just huge. That's
- 27:02Speaker 2: for boating for I don't know if you do fishing
- 27:04Speaker 2: up there. I think you do, and certainly water skiing
- 27:06Speaker 2: is that are all the water sports, but they're actually
- 27:09Speaker 2: reservoirs and we're close to or they're close to becoming
- 27:14Speaker 2: a situation of deadpool. Deadpoolness dead pooliosity is when the
- 27:20Speaker 2: water level is so low that it can no longer
- 27:22Speaker 2: be pumped through those pumps. You go to Lake Mead,
- 27:26Speaker 2: you go to Hoover Dam, Boulder Dam, you'll notice that
- 27:30Speaker 2: there are these four large pillars. They are actually pumps
- 27:34Speaker 2: that pump the water down into the turbines, and their
- 27:38Speaker 2: water level is going to go below what they do,
- 27:40Speaker 2: what they can do, and then it becomes we're done
- 27:43Speaker 2: with electricity there.
- 27:44Speaker 3: It's a mess. It really is a mess, all right.
- 27:48Speaker 8: So Taco Bell is selling one dollar let us free
- 27:53Speaker 8: in curritos.
- 27:54Speaker 4: The in curritos are great.
- 27:55Speaker 8: By the way, I know what they don't need let
- 27:57Speaker 8: us for those who have been writing with us, is
- 27:59Speaker 8: what they say. I actually saw the branding on this
- 28:02Speaker 8: and I thought it was quite smart. Fast food chain
- 28:05Speaker 8: is obviously trying to recover from the slumping store visits
- 28:10Speaker 8: after it was linked to that diarrhea causing parasite. So
- 28:17Speaker 8: just one buck, just a buck to say how they
- 28:20Speaker 8: appreciate you. I think it's a great deal and really
- 28:22Speaker 8: remembers that use the app can also get a side
- 28:25Speaker 8: of regular Natcho fries for just a buck as well.
- 28:28Speaker 4: Good for them. That sucks when that stuff happens.
- 28:31Speaker 2: Yeah, if you sign up, they give you a free
- 28:32Speaker 2: order of Pectobismo, which helps enormously.
- 28:36Speaker 3: After eating their talkbosts, soothes and reliefs. Yes it does.
- 28:40Speaker 3: I think we have time for one more.
- 28:44Speaker 6: Mayor Bass has taken control. She sure loves her Metro.
- 28:48Speaker 6: She was given a ceremonial gavel yesterday as she takes
- 28:52Speaker 6: control of La Metro's board of directors. She's going to
- 28:56Speaker 6: be the head of the board for the twenty twenty
- 28:59Speaker 6: six twenty seven school year. She says, public transit quite
- 29:02Speaker 6: literally is one of the most powerful tools to change
- 29:05Speaker 6: and improve the quality of life. And that's what we're building.
- 29:09Speaker 2: Yeah, well we have to. We have to move into
- 29:11Speaker 2: a non car, non road community.
- 29:15Speaker 8: It'll change your life drastically. If someone sticks a knife
- 29:18Speaker 8: in you.
- 29:19Speaker 3: Yeah, that will.
- 29:20Speaker 2: And those and if you ever want to spend any
- 29:22Speaker 2: amount of time in the Metro, on those metro trains
- 29:26Speaker 2: in the middle of summer, it's just a delight with
- 29:29Speaker 2: the smells, em and e And did you see the gavel?
- 29:32Speaker 2: You see the close up of the gavel the stand,
- 29:34Speaker 2: a little stand that it's on in Boston.
- 29:36Speaker 3: It is a map of Africa, you know, with the Okay,
- 29:42Speaker 3: Hannah gonna go, yeah, gonna be there. Yeah, all right,
- 29:48Speaker 3: We're done.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Guys.
- 29:49Speaker 3: You've been listening to The Bill Handle Show.
- 29:51Speaker 2: Catch My Show Monday through Friday, six am to nine am,
- 29:55Speaker 2: and anytime on demand on the iHeartRadio app
