- 0:01That's the secret begins to examine his life.
- 0:05He quickly finds that virtually all his thoughts, emotions,
- 0:09feelings and actions are based on habitual patterns.
- 0:14Either ingrained in the human encoding as a species or develop
- 0:20through socialization in a society or civilization through
- 0:24family influence, peer influence, educational influence
- 0:29or Through interaction through communication and media,
- 0:33including advertising internet, and the subtle expectation of
- 0:38things built into each Society, very rarely can the secret
- 0:43identify anything that does not have as an underlying basis.
- 0:47One of these habitual factors we are thus, for the most part,
- 0:53very much similar to one another and the field of psychology
- 0:57recognizes this by identifying Sighing, what is normal in the
- 1:02society and graphing responses to various tests or
- 1:06circumstances using bell-shaped curve modeling Etc?
- 1:12Rare exceptions may be due to specific individual
- 1:15circumstances, physical limitations, or developed
- 1:20capacities or may represent a true and unique individuality
- 1:25that has developed. Well, we pride ourselves on our
- 1:29individuality, when we look deeply at these habitual
- 1:33processes, the differences are mostly superficial true
- 1:39individuality arises when an individual is able to go beyond
- 1:43the habits that are either encoded or trained nature and
- 1:47nurture to create a truly unique responsiveness to the world.
- 1:52And its environment forces, pressures and activities.
- 1:58Such a uniqueness occurs when the soul, the psychic being
- 2:03actually comes forward addresses.
- 2:05The unique challenges and opportunities for the souls
- 2:08growth based on its past experience and needs in the
- 2:13current lifetime true and devout, individuality is as SRI
- 2:18aurobindo sews and adventure of consciousness.
- 2:23The mother observes quote, one lives by a kind of habit, which
- 2:28is barely half conscious one lives does not even objectify.
- 2:33What one does, why one does it? How one does it?
- 2:38When does it by habit? All those were born in a certain
- 2:42environment a certain country automatically take the habits of
- 2:47that environment. Not only material habits, but
- 2:50habits of thought, Feeling and habits of acting they do it
- 2:56without watching themselves, doing it quite naturally.
- 3:00And if someone points this out to them, they are astonished.
- 3:05As a matter of fact, one has to habit of sleeping speaking,
- 3:09eating moving, and one does all this as something quite natural
- 3:14without wondering. Why, or how, and many other
- 3:17things all the time, when does things automatically by force of
- 3:22habit? It when does not watch oneself.
- 3:26And so when when lives in a particular society, when
- 3:30automatically does what is normally done in that society
- 3:35and if somebody begins to watch himself acting watch himself
- 3:39feeling and thinking he looks like a kind of phenomenal
- 3:43monster compared with the environment.
- 3:45He lives in there for individuality is not at all.
- 3:50The rule it is an exception. And if you do not have that sort
- 3:55of bag a particular form, which is your outer body and your
- 3:58appearance, you could hardly be distinguished from one another.
- 4:04Individuality is a conquest and as SRI aurobindo says here, this
- 4:10first Conquest is only a first stage in once you have realized
- 4:15within you, something like a personal independent and
- 4:18conscious being, then what you have to do is to break the Come
- 4:23and go farther or example, if you want to progress mentally,
- 4:28you must break all your mental forms.
- 4:32All your mental constructions, to be able to make new ones.
- 4:36So, to begin with a tremendous labor is required to
- 4:40individualize oneself and afterwards.
- 4:45One must demolish all that has been done in order to progress.
- 4:49In quote, reference SRI aurobindo and the mother growing
- 4:54within the psychology of inner development.
