- 0:23It is time to leave your worries outside and join us inside this year Treehouse.
- 0:30I'm Daniel Malley along with Trade Trenholm and Raj Sharma, fresh off of
- 0:35our tree House Plus number five episode, which if you would like to listen
- 0:40or watch that, you can do so in its entirety by going to Patreon
- 0:43dot com slash Treehouse on Air, p A t R e o N dot
- 0:51com slash Treehouse on Air. Sign up for that and you will get access
- 0:57to the Treehouse Plus episodes one per week and you can find out I'm curious
- 1:04about what we spoke about in that Freehouse Plus episode. Trey is holding it
- 1:10up right now for us cameras to see. Our buddy Hayden from Spoke Customs
- 1:15send us a care package of items that he would like to sell for us.
- 1:19One of the main items included in our goodie bags were blankets with our
- 1:25faces on them, which is very exciting for Trey and for Raj and for
- 1:30me because now knowing that that's an option if I wanted to, I too
- 1:36could have a photo blanket full of tray faces or rag faces, or better
- 1:42yet, maybe I can do I can do a combo sort of like getting
- 1:48combo fiheatas get chicken and beef. Maybe a combo blanket with Trey and raj
- 1:55Y all over that nice, big soft blanket. So that way, whenever
- 1:59I feel like it, I can sit on your faces. Yeah, the
- 2:01Devil threesome, but it's so soft and cuddly. What we should do is,
- 2:10when you're back in town next month, we should do the old school
- 2:15Olin Mills portrait of the three of us. Yeah, like holiday sweaters,
- 2:21and then we have those blankets made. I have I have a idea.
- 2:24I'd like to tack on to your idea. Okay, since we have not
- 2:30announced it officially yet, but I will tease it slightly here. We will
- 2:36be doing a Christmas a Treehouse podcast Christmas road show party in December. It's
- 2:44a lot of words. It's a it's a miracle, I can say the
- 2:46month. We'll be having a Christmas themed Treehouse road show coming up in December.
- 2:53And when we do that, what we can do is take these blankets
- 2:55and create a step and repeat for when people show up to the event,
- 3:01kind of like the Oscars or the Grammys. You stand in front of the
- 3:05logo wall that's called the step and repeat because you step take some photos in
- 3:08front of the wall with the stuff behind you, and then you repeat it
- 3:10step repeat, step repeat in front of all the different logos that are lined
- 3:14up on the red carpet. We do the same thing. We do a
- 3:16treehouse Christmas red carpet mm hmm with our face blankets that people could take photos
- 3:23in front of. Yes, and maybe we get one of Daisy made and
- 3:27that's the one we charge money for it because that'll be the money maker.
- 3:30Yeah, yeah, I think that's a great idea. And then if if
- 3:35by if, and if you want to buy and if you want to buy
- 3:38the blanket of say myself or or tray uh, we can the highest the
- 3:46highest bidder, and then we auctioned it off. Yeah yeah, that already
- 3:51that way you know who really wants you. Yeah, and they are very
- 3:55soft blankets. They are their high quality items as because Neddie would say,
- 4:02yeah, it's really it's a really nice blanket. I will say that,
- 4:06and Jayden did say that for the next event we do, he'd be happy
- 4:10to throw in maybe like some some cups and things that we can also give
- 4:14away or sell. So I think we're gonna hit him up for those maybe
- 4:16the blankets as well for that next Christmas road show. So keep your keep
- 4:19it tuned into the Treehouse podcast for that road show announcement which will be happening
- 4:26soon soon. Yeah. I now have an idea for another blanket that I
- 4:30think we could have Hayden work up for us, and that would be one
- 4:33of these super soft blankets with either the Ranger's logo all over it or perhaps
- 4:42maybe adultut Garcia's face all over it. I'm sure the MLB and adults would
- 4:46sue us for it, but they got to catch us first, you know
- 4:49what I mean? Yeah, or maybe a nice Nathan Yuvaldi face all over
- 4:56these blankets, not the Spores guy, not the guy that actually closed out
- 5:00them, struck out and the final out for the Rangers to win the World
- 5:03Series. Because I can't quite figure out his facial hair. It looks somewhere
- 5:06between a Civil War era and hipster and I can't quite figure it out.
- 5:12Whatever it is, the man gets to go down in as a Rangers legend
- 5:16for being the guy that got the last out for the Rangers to win their
- 5:20first ever World Series. And I'm this many days later, I'm still in
- 5:29my sports fields about it. Oh yeah, got up, Raj here a
- 5:33Yankees fan. No, no, no, I'd come on. It was.
- 5:36I watched the whole thing. It was. It was wonderful. I
- 5:41was very, very excited for the Texas Rangers. I'm very I mean thirty
- 5:44five years franchise with sixty three years franchise, sixty three years because they started
- 5:48out as the Washington Senators and then like many people who come to Texas,
- 5:53they got out of Washington and then came and completely rebranded change their name to
- 5:58the Texas Rangers. That was nineteen seventy two. Seventy two. Yeah,
- 6:01yeah, so yeah, no, that's amazing, and congratulations to them.
- 6:05That was a fantastic It was a great series. It was fun to watch.
- 6:10It was a very entertaining, high scoring for the most part. But
- 6:15yeah, no, I'm I'm very, very very happy for Unlike I was.
- 6:18I Actually, you have the big meme that went out with the championship
- 6:26trophy and all the players around it, and I would have that blanket made
- 6:29by by Hayden. I would have that. And you got to make sure
- 6:31you have the the new phrase in the corner went and took it, gotcha?
- 6:38Okay, how badass? Was that that felt good when when they first
- 6:41dropped that on on social media, It's like, oh that is good.
- 6:44Yeah, I just refused to do anything with Creed, so you know what,
- 6:48for one night, I just I let my Creed flag five flyve Creed
- 6:51flag fly. Yeah there we goment Yeah No, I just yeah. I
- 6:57can't. I can't believe that that was the that was the song though,
- 7:00though that was the inspiration to get you there, Creed. I'd like to
- 7:03think that they that it started out more as like a tongue in cheek thing,
- 7:08okay good, and it was. I think it was meant to be
- 7:11more like like a funny clubhouse thing and be like, hey, what if
- 7:14this is there's one of our themes though, isn't this stupid? And next
- 7:16thing, you know, becomes a thing that and then the range is like,
- 7:19oh god, now we have to entertain Scott's staff for a night.
- 7:21Well no, And then Creed got back together and I was like it was
- 7:26launched a tour. Yes, and I'm and my fear is that the Texas
- 7:30Rangers are responsible for the regrouping of Creed because keep in mind, Scott Stapped
- 7:36three years ago was riding around the Florida neighborhood on a ten speed. Uh
- 7:41and now he's on tour like that's that's like you know, the either the
- 7:45power of the Rangers or the magic that is or was Creed. I don't.
- 7:49I think I think it shows the power of sports Trey as a lifelong
- 7:55DFW resident, Raj, you are too. But since you're Yankees fan out,
- 8:00you're you're you're a spoiled baseball fan. When when you became a Yankees
- 8:03fan, they already had, you know, a litany of success behind that,
- 8:07So you don't understand the pain that comes along with being a Rangers fan.
- 8:13I truly, I truly don't, because every time I was while you
- 8:16guys were suffering, I was just enjoying dollar hot talks. Uh, well,
- 8:20you guys were, but I went. I went to many a game
- 8:24since I was a kid. Uh. I do enjoy the Texas Rangers.
- 8:28But you know, I am definitely a Yankees fan, and you're right,
- 8:33I wouldn't. I don't have enough money for all the blankets that that they
- 8:35would require for their championships. So I do know how you can get your
- 8:39hands up, Derek Jeter blanket. I'm not I'm not that dedicated to fan
- 8:48say that now, man, he's got those dreamy eyes. But you know
- 8:54what it's you talk about. I really thought about it because I I got
- 8:58all the field when when they won, and I was like, I don't
- 9:03know that I have really cared for a team a season anything since that twenty
- 9:07eleven season and just having my heart broken and I'm wavy trade that that twenty
- 9:13So I think the I think most Rangers fans this is the way they feel.
- 9:18Twenty ten. We get to the World Series, beat the Giant or
- 9:22I'm sorry, lose to the Giants. We were just happy to be there.
- 9:26We were so giddy to even like to even have to have won the
- 9:30Pennant. It was amazing. But also the Giants that at the end of
- 9:35it, they were a better they were the better team. Like I didn't,
- 9:37I didn't leave that twenty ten World Series, you know, thinking oh
- 9:41my god, it just slipped away. It's like we you know, they
- 9:45were just a better team. Yeah, all right, that twenty eleven that's
- 9:50a whole different animal. The twenty eleven World Series was sort of like in
- 9:56the Revenant. Have you guys seen The Revenant with Leonardo DiCaprio not I have
- 10:01not okay, Well, at some point today I want you to pull up
- 10:03the clip on YouTube of Leonardo DiCaprio in the Revenant when he gets attacked by
- 10:09the bear. Use your imagination, but it's very, very savage. The
- 10:13Rangers were the Leonardo DiCaprio and the Cardinals were the bear, and it was
- 10:18very much like that, or maybe more accurately, the Cardinals were the bear,
- 10:22and Leonardo DiCaprio was all of us Rangers fans in one body, just
- 10:28getting tossed around in the woods, chewed up like a rag doll. And
- 10:33you're right, Trey, go ahead. Couldn't the bear have been Nelly Cruz?
- 10:37Just the bear attacking Leo was intentional. Nelson Cruz did not intentionally flub
- 10:46that final out. It was just a Nelson Cruz thing, but it wasn't
- 10:50intentional. But I'm with you. That twenty eleven thing left It left me
- 10:54broken. Like you said, Trey, I was so broken after that game
- 10:58that I didn't watch much base ball after that because I was so heavily invested
- 11:01in those teams, partly because I covered the Rangers for the fan during that
- 11:07time. In that nine to ten season when they went to the World Series,
- 11:13so I was intimately knowledgeable of everything Rangers at that time. So I
- 11:18was. I mean, I can't even say knee deep. I was in
- 11:22way over my head as far as caring about that team, especially when they
- 11:24went into the twenty eleven one out away and they still lose that series.
- 11:30That's why on last Wednesday night, when the Rangers are within one out again,
- 11:35even though the bases were empty and had a five run lead, I
- 11:37still didn't feel good about it. I think Trade text me is like I
- 11:41still have I think it was the seventh day. He's like, I still
- 11:45have my doubts. I'm like, we were you yes, Roger, that
- 11:48is how messed up we were. That was Severe Sports PTSD after the twenty
- 11:54eleven World Series. As Rangers fans, Yeah, I was. I mean,
- 11:58when they have the eleven to one lead I think it was, and
- 12:01they start giving up runs in is it the eighth or ninth inning, I'm
- 12:07literally I'm sitting there, going this is this is how it starts, you
- 12:11know, and I'm just shell shocked at I'm just waiting for the uh you
- 12:16know. So, was I the only one of the three of us that
- 12:20had complete faith in the Yes. Yes, and that's because that's because you
- 12:26were not a Rangers fan. If you were a Rangers fan, you would
- 12:28have been like everybody else and go like, I don't believe it. No,
- 12:31I think in that moment I was a better fan than you. Guys.
- 12:35That doesn't make you a better fan, that just makes you a Yankees
- 12:37fan. No. I had complete and total faith in that team. I
- 12:41believe that then that that is called recency bias. And clearly than you,
- 12:48uh, no I I I will stand. I will stand on this.
- 12:50I believe that the three of us, this Yankees fan was the most dedicated
- 12:56Rangers fan. It's you. It's easy you can say that because you can
- 13:01go, yeah, they've got it. You're not emotionally invested. It's not
- 13:03gonna tear it your gut. You. I high fived the guy next to
- 13:07me when when it happened. It was, it was, it was.
- 13:09It was a nice moment. It was a nice moment. I shared.
- 13:16I shared. I hugged strangers, raj I hugged strangers. I bruised my
- 13:20hand from slapping a rafter at a bar after the game. I sang creed
- 13:28for like five minutes. But I've seen you drinking. You'll do that without
- 13:31a game like the game helps I'll tell you what that game as I had
- 13:45already when they won, I looked, and so they were re airing the
- 13:48game. Uh like it starting at twelve thirty. All right, man,
- 13:54I'm gonna rec I wanted to watch that again, Yes, yeah, and
- 13:58it was for me. It was watching the highlights again the next morning,
- 14:01and I purposely tried to find the longest highlight package I could so I could
- 14:07see as much of it again as I could, because even to this day,
- 14:11like right now, my favorite show right now is The Rangers World Series
- 14:16Game five, and I just keep basically rewatching the highlights from it because it
- 14:18feels so damn good. And I had a buddy of mine that named Nathan,
- 14:24or he still named Nathan, but I used to work with him at
- 14:26the fan and he posted He's like, hey guys, hey Rangers fans,
- 14:31does this World Series win take away the pain from twenty eleven. I'm like,
- 14:37no, that is a scar that will forever be there, but I
- 14:41can be proud of the scar now that they've actually won one. Well,
- 14:48I wanted to watch the extended highlight package too, which is why I recorded
- 14:50the game. But of course then effing Bobby Knight dies, and so instead
- 14:56of watching the damn game, I have to spend the first hour of Bobby
- 14:58Knight memore him, and then the highlight then the game. It cuts off
- 15:03at the beginning of the seventh inning. Oh man, did you did you
- 15:09throw a chair? You should have dog custs Bobby Knight. Like players throw
- 15:16a chair, dog cuss some people, maybe a choke a stranger. Yeah,
- 15:24hopefully no racial slurs. Uh, let's just keep away from that,
- 15:28that Bobby Knight legacy. Like, I literally the first thing I saw what
- 15:33I saw that Bob Bobby Night, I was like, oh my god,
- 15:35hope there's no chairs to thel because he's well, it doesn't matter because I
- 15:39mean, even if he goes to heaven, he's he'll probably be choking angels.
- 15:45Yeah. No, we're not boxing out even box out the Devil.
- 15:52Yeah that yeah, that's that's so unfortunate. I I enjoyed the moment.
- 15:56I was very I was at the I was at the Twin Peaks, uh,
- 16:00and there were some very excited fans and and a lot of high fives,
- 16:03and I the game was done, and I I went to I went
- 16:06to Taco Bell, uh like, and as I'm in the Taco Bell drive
- 16:11through getting my food, uh, Tray sends me a test I said.
- 16:15I cried. And I was like, oh that, well, good for
- 16:18you. But I'm glad you had that moment. Well I'm sure Raj you
- 16:22cried too, but it was for the probably a different reason now I I
- 16:26was. I was joyous in the moment. There wasn't a lot of There
- 16:30wasn't a lot of like like a buddy of mine is like you guys,
- 16:33like he had at the beginning of the season, he held up a sign
- 16:37with his daughter and said the Rangers will win a World Series before I die.
- 16:41Uh. And this was his daughter was There was not a claim I
- 16:44would have made. Yeah, And his daughter was with his daughter was with
- 16:49us at the watch of the game, and uh. He he had that
- 16:53like he's like, you're not going to school, We're going to the parade
- 16:56where and he's a season ticket holder of the whole nine yards and awesome he
- 16:59had he had his moment and I was like, I'm really hungry. Good
- 17:03for you guys, And that's and that's how you know, that you you
- 17:07didn't have the same level of emotional investment, and then there's nothing wrong,
- 17:10right, You're not a you're not a diehard Rangers fan like we all are,
- 17:14and that we had to go through all this pain before they finally won
- 17:17a World Series. The I thought of this the other day, and I
- 17:22think it's true. At least it feels true in my heart. And that
- 17:26is Thursday, November two, twenty twenty three, the day after the Rangers
- 17:32won the World Series, is the first easy day of being a Rangers fan.
- 17:40Okay, and every day until every day until opening day next season will
- 17:48be easy Rangers fans days because you finally got a World Series and and it
- 17:56just it just it just feels so it feels so good, so it can
- 17:59jump on now. No, yeah, you just said it's the easiest time
- 18:03to be a fan, so I'm a fan. No No, that's not
- 18:04what No, no, no, I'm a fan now. No no no,
- 18:07no, no no no. I don't like it's easy to be a
- 18:08fan. Know what I mean is every day before November second, twenty twenty
- 18:14three, being a Rangers fan was hard. Yeah, it was hard,
- 18:18hard, hard, yeah, But but now I can be a fan now
- 18:21because it's the it's yeah, there we go. Okay, I'm a I'm
- 18:23a fan. There it is Trey. Is he not understanding it? Or
- 18:26am I just not explaining it right? I mean what what? No?
- 18:30I guess I don't want him. I don't want him, know, Raj,
- 18:34I'm going out today. I'm going to academy. I'm getting all the
- 18:38Rangers gear. So he's it's he's a Yankees fan. He's a Steinbrenner,
- 18:42you know. So he's just gonna money whip his happiness. And that is
- 18:51that is hammer, hitt and nail. Yeah, that is perfect. This
- 18:53is the best time to be a Rangers. Look, you got a new
- 18:56fan here. He is Yay. That Garcia guy and other people you whore,
- 19:06I've been called worse. You keep it up and you will by Trey,
- 19:22you're listening to the tree House. Visit us online that Treehouse on air
- 19:26dot com fifty two. That is the phone number to reach Rodney Anderson.
- 19:37His website Rodney Anderson dot com chock full of great information. I know that
- 19:41because I've been to it many times, and also because it's a lot of
- 19:45Rodney's brain on that website and his brain is available for you to pick it.
- 19:48Which is I'm going to do right now? So, Rodney, I'm
- 19:51wondering right now, what are some of the major reasons that people are doing
- 19:55cash out refinances? Giving you a call? Yeah, the number one reason
- 19:57and most important to get out of debt. Financial experts Dave Ramsey Susie Orman
- 20:03will always tell you there is no way that you will get ahead in life
- 20:07with credit card debt or other debt. That is, how to control a
- 20:11cash out refinance can be a simple solution for so many people to get their
- 20:15finances back on the fast track. I'll give an example. We had to
- 20:18borrow and move forward one of our past customers. Yes, Sir, rate
- 20:22one up on their mortgage, but Dan, they had over one hundred and
- 20:26fifty thousand dollars at credit card debt and their average rate was twenty five percent.
- 20:30It was incredible when you are sitting there with that kind of debt and
- 20:33they were trying to rob Peter to pay Paul every month, live in paycheck
- 20:37to three days before paycheck. So number one reason get out of debt.
- 20:41Number two home improvements, number three, payoff school loans, number four,
- 20:45pay off the irs. Number five to invest in your child's education. So
- 20:49those are the major five reasons, and I will throw a six one.
- 20:52In their divorce, we're seeing a lot of cash out revised for divorce purposes
- 20:56stand part of the equity. Yeah, and all those things that you mentioned
- 21:00are extremely important and things that Rodney and his team can help you with.
- 21:03But in order for him to do that, you got to give him a
- 21:04call nine nine eight five fifty two hundred. Let him walk you through that
- 21:08process. Nine seven two nine eight five fifty two hundred. Organ That website
- 21:12with great information is, of course Rodney Anderson dot com. And if I'm
- 21:15lending is an equal Housing Lander three thousand, Village Parkay, Suite four hundred
- 21:18high in Village, Texas and MLS two three two nine. This weekend at

- 22:52but I'm gonna say it anyway. If I could have changed anything about the
- 22:56Rangers winning the World Series, it would have been that they would have done
- 23:00it like two days before, on October thirtieth, So that way, the
- 23:07next night for Halloween. I could go out with a Ranger shirt on and
- 23:11goggles on my head. Oh yeah, would have been a World Series Rangers
- 23:18Champion or Halloween. That's the only thing. Yeah, but you have to
- 23:21be soaked in. You have to be soaked in some sort of booze with
- 23:25the with the goggles. I don't think that's problem. Yeah, that'll be
- 23:27hard for Dan. Yeah, she would also be dressed similarly, and she
- 23:33would also be like shaking the champagne and pouring the beer in my head and
- 23:37all that kind of stuff. Yeah, that's it. That's when I when
- 23:40I saw there, uh, when they won, there were in the locker
- 23:42room. I saw their celebration. I was like, that's the kind of
- 23:45party like I want to be. I want to go to a party like
- 23:48that where like, hey, you're gonna need protective eye gear. Yeah,
- 23:52there ain't no party like like like a clubhouse party. And I don't mean
- 23:56that was the strict club I thought that would probably be true, you know,
- 24:00Uh, but I mean a ballpark, baseball player clubhouse party. I
- 24:04just they set the standard. I mean you don't even really see that that
- 24:08much in other sports. Maybe with soccer. I've seen some soccer fans or
- 24:11soccer clubs go go go pretty ape in those clouds. I have. I
- 24:17haven't seen that, but I I I've seen baseball do this. And and
- 24:19now they've got the ski goggles. I don't know what company it is,
- 24:22but I think they now give them to every Oh they do. It's probably
- 24:26Oakly because they also wear like the sunglasses for Oakley and everything like that.
- 24:30But gotcha, it's it's such a thing now that even the reporters covering the
- 24:33team, they have to make plans. They have to plan ahead in case
- 24:37the team clinches a playoff spot, they win a division, they win a
- 24:42series in the playoffs, and then win the World Series. Uh, like
- 24:48Nuie Scruggs posted it. He Uh it was it was him, Pat Dony
- 24:52and I forget what other Channel five guy and the camera operator all had their
- 24:57rain jackets on ready to go. Don't he's got the hood up, Newie.
- 25:02I guess since he's bald, he didn't care about, you know,
- 25:03getting his hair wet. But even as the reporters covering the team, you
- 25:07have to go in prepared in slicks and goggles for yourself, just because you
- 25:12have to cover it. Yeah, and but but poor Bruce Bochie, they
- 25:17didn't give him any protective ywear. They were strangely mean to him. Yeah,
- 25:22but I mean throughout your series, like throughout the Ranger series, like
- 25:26I've heard people being constantly mean to him, and I'm like, that's the
- 25:29guy. I mean, come on, guys, let's let's let's be honest.
- 25:32I mean, he's the one that got you there and he's one before,
- 25:34so let's let's trust the hen and everybody is kind of kind of ribbon
- 25:38the old guy. And I didn't who was Ribbon Bruce Boccie. Just people
- 25:41at the different like the different places that would go watch the games, Like
- 25:45what were they saying? Just I mean, he was that he was old
- 25:48and he's like when he would walk out, who cares if he's old.
- 25:52Most baseball managers are old. The older baseball manager is, the more I
- 25:55trust him. Yeah. Actually, like he's not that old for a baseball
- 25:59manager. Yeah, but that's what I was saying. But like when he
- 26:00would come out of the dugout to like, you know, leave a pitcher
- 26:03or whatever, talk to something like just because he's got the he's got a
- 26:07little bit of a limp, and some people I don't know who these people
- 26:10are, but the people at the bars and restaurants that I went to watch
- 26:12the games at kind of come kind of making fun of the old guy.
- 26:15I'm like, uh, and he's one of he's he's that old where he's
- 26:18like, I don't need my My eyes have seen enough champagne. I don't
- 26:22need goggles. They used to pour whiskey down our eyes those yeah, back
- 26:27when I played, Back when they played, they were smoking on the bases
- 26:33and drink. I mean, it's and that's why and that's why baseball is
- 26:38America's favorite sport. Uh, America's pastime. But no, yeah, uh
- 26:45they were. They were making fun of the old guy, which I didn't
- 26:47Uh, I didn't. I didn't care for. But I do. I
- 26:49do like the fact that they are now preparing their their their teams with the
- 26:53goggles. I always wonder who has to do the cleanup of that clubhouse.
- 26:59Well, the beauty of their Rangers winning this on the road, Oh yeah,
- 27:07I did see that. Arizona said that if the Rangers had made an
- 27:11attempt to go swim in the pool in the outfield, that they would have
- 27:15stopped them. Really, I think because they were saying like, if whatever
- 27:19happens, we're going to make sure that the pool is off limits. And
- 27:22I don't know if they're saying that out of liability or because they think it
- 27:25would be you know, a kin to Terrell Owen's running to the you know,
- 27:29to midfield and slapping a football on top of the star. Yeah.
- 27:33I look at it as well as Trey knows from real estate. Well,
- 27:36don't put an attractive nuisance in your outfield. Yeah, don't do that if
- 27:42you don't want me to jump into it. Yeah, most places. Yeah,
- 27:45I doubt that was the team's first you know, inclination is let hey,
- 27:48let's go jump in the piss pool. No, they want to do
- 27:52that. You want to go jump in in the Diamondbacks fans people, especially
- 27:56when you've already flooded your locker room, you know, probably half mile away.
- 28:03Yeah, why would you then run out to that pool out there?
- 28:06Now you've already got one where you are, You're good, you're set,
- 28:07you're solid, you got the goggles. Yeah. I did not think about
- 28:11that because my thought was that poor person or that poor group of people that
- 28:15has to clean that up. And then it's like, well, it's the
- 28:18Diamondbacks thing. I was like, well, then you know you should have
- 28:19been prepared. Yeah, you just just bring a really big squeegee. Also,
- 28:27also, I want to make sure I mentioned this. I also think
- 28:30attractive nuisance would be a good nickname for a doulas Garsia. Poor guy,
- 28:37I mean torres obliques, poor nothing man. He's happy, He's like,
- 28:41look like without him, they wouldn't have gotten to that game anyway. And
- 28:44the fact that they were so resilient, which they were resilient all year,
- 28:47which in order to be resilient you have to be really terrible at times and
- 28:49then overcome it, which is exactly what that game was. So the whole
- 28:55season, the Rangers were good and bad, good and then bad, and
- 28:56then they were good when they needed to be for an entire month to win
- 28:59the World Series. But even in that game, Yvaldi was if we're being
- 29:03honest, he was not very good. He was phenomenal at getting out of
- 29:07all those jams until his last snning, which made it even better because that
- 29:11was that final game as a microcosm of the entire season. Yeah, but
- 29:15so I was saying the same that I was sitting next to a very very
- 29:18vocal Rangers fan when there was nobody in this particular bar restaurant that I was
- 29:26at, like literally to the point where he was cheering and he was screaming
- 29:30and yelling. Like one person across the room was like, how many people
- 29:33do you think are in here? And I think he left shortly after that,
- 29:37but he was talking about how they weren't going to the possibility of them
- 29:41not winning because Dolos Garcia was injured. I'm like, hey man, he
- 29:47he was injured and they still won one, right, so give credit to
- 29:51the team. I mean, the guy got us there, but I mean
- 29:52I felt bad for him in the sense that he got all the way there
- 29:56and then had to suffer an inj and not be able to play as much.
- 30:02But I can't remember who the kid is that barely they have the meme
- 30:06of him now where he's like holding on to another guy like with his hand
- 30:08up on his like on his chest or whatever. And the kid only like
- 30:12went to bat once. I can't remember his name, but everybody was kind
- 30:15of busting his balls too, But there was some meme going around about it,
- 30:18like he was the most excited Rangers. He was like to make a
- 30:22wish player yeah, like he only went to I think he went about once
- 30:27and he was the most excited, Like he was always clapping and cheering and
- 30:32like hugging people when they were done. They're like, you didn't, you
- 30:34didn't You don't do anything like, oh, yes he does. That's an
- 30:37entire team effort. And actually I'm said, so, I'm glad you mentioned
- 30:41that, you know, uh that you feel bad for a doles Garcia because
- 30:47he didn't get a chance to be on the field and you know in the
- 30:48game war won. But see, Trey almost suffered a worse fate because the
- 30:55week before Trey almost died. It's very possible Trey could have died and not
- 31:00have seen the Rangers win the World Series. What m what happened? What
- 31:08did I miss? Tell him Trey? Tell him how you were almost washed
- 31:11away? Tell him how Tell him how you you did not turn around and
- 31:17possibly drown. Uh. Yeah, remember the night that we had the massive
- 31:21flooding, Like the first night we got this heavy rain. So I was
- 31:25leaving work coming home, in which I have to navigate around Turtle Creek,
- 31:29which is notorious for flooding. But then I got on Lemon Avenue and right
- 31:33underneath the toll road. I you know, it's dark and I'm it's three
- 31:37point thirty in the morning, and I can see their standing water. But
- 31:41I I just didn't think it would be that much. And sure enough,
- 31:45man, I barreled into it, and I had the moment of going,
- 31:49oh, crap, I'm about to be on the news. Yeah when you
- 31:56look out, when you look out the window and you see a fish,
- 32:00yeah for something We've spent twenty years making fun of people doing yes, And
- 32:07luckily I just you know, that split second you have a decision to make,
- 32:10and I just floored it and luckily got through. But how how high
- 32:15up was the water? So I have a you know, Mercedes s UV
- 32:20and it was up past you know, at the bottom of the door.
- 32:25Okay, so a little bit more, you know, it definitely could have
- 32:30caused him engine problems. Okay, Wow, that is that would have been
- 32:34hilariously tragic, because it is you make fun of them all the time,
- 32:38and then you do the same thing. So I mean, at least at
- 32:42least at the funeral, there have been some jokes. Oh yeah, jokes.
- 32:49Yeah, it would have been it would have been more of like a
- 32:51funeral roast. Yeah. I had one of those moments. I was in
- 32:54I was in India performing and it was during the monsoon and the dry The
- 33:00driver, the only driver that they could send for me, was like a
- 33:02like a small, like four door Suzuki, like like the economy car that
- 33:07you get at like a rental place. Oh yeah, like tiny and like
- 33:12everybody else, like I can see like the BMW seven series on the side
- 33:15of the road with the hazards on because he can't get through the water.
- 33:19And then you know the jeep over there, and this guy's just trucking along
- 33:22and the water keeps coming up and he just looks back and goes, pick
- 33:24up your feet. And I was like, what it goes? It goes,
- 33:28it goes, water coming in, pick up your feet, Like stop
- 33:32driving? What are we doing? Like what game are we playing? That
- 33:36come with a snorkel. I thought it was going to float away, but
- 33:40he just powered through and he like a dick, was like waving at people
- 33:45in like a seventh series Mercedes, a seven series BMW and like all the
- 33:49jeeps and the Mercedes, he was waving at them. And we made it
- 33:52to the venue and he's like, happens all the time, I'm like that
- 33:53not not not not in America, buddy. I feel like I feel like
- 33:57you found the Indian transporter. You should have gotten his card. That'd been
- 34:07great if it was Jason State after the meg too. No, you never
- 34:14know how deep is that water. You're listening to the Treehouse visit us online
- 34:27that Treehouse on air dot com. Let's get Daniel Cook into the treehouse now
- 34:38from COOKDFW Roofing and Restoration. Their phone number for your free roof inspection eight
- 34:43three three Cook DFW, the website cookdfw dot com. So, Daniel,
- 34:46I know, you go out to someone's house, you do that free roof
- 34:49inspection, let them know good, bad, ugly with the roof, and
- 34:52you're honest about it. You take photos and explain everything. But if someone
- 34:55just wants to kind of eyeball it themselves, not go on the roof,
- 34:58because I know you don't recommend that that's your But if I'm just walking around
- 35:01the outside of the house, what should I be looking for to see if
- 35:04there's possibly a problem. Things that a homeowner might be able to see from
- 35:07the ground would be miss missing shingles. Obviously, if you see some gaps
- 35:10in the shingles, or if you see some black underlayment, that means some
- 35:15shingles have blown off. If you've seen maybe some of the ventilation folded or
- 35:21maybe you know, bent backwards or anything like that. You also might see
- 35:25around the perimeter you might see some of the metal drip edge or flashings maybe
- 35:30loose. But you know, from the ground, it's it's hard to see
- 35:35a lot of these homes here in North Texas. And so, you know,
- 35:37the old days, the homes were really easy to get up on.
- 35:39They were just a four or five pitch gable roof and jump. Everybody would
- 35:44jump up there and fix their own roofs or or look at it and see
- 35:45when they had a problem. And now these days you just can't do that.
- 35:47And so yeah, I still think it's easier just to give us a
- 35:52call. You know, it's no problem for us to come out. We
- 35:54take thirty or forty five minutes of our time, you know, make an
- 35:59assessment, take some like you said. We just did that this week.
- 36:01A guy off a royal lane called us out. Extremely heavy pitch roof.
- 36:06He said, my neighbors have been getting roos replaced, and I don't I
- 36:08don't think I have any problems. We jump up there and he had one
- 36:12of his exhaust vents, the cap of it completely was blown off, and
- 36:15so he just had a hole in his exhaust and so water from rain was
- 36:19just pouring down in that exhaust vent. He had no idea. You couldn't
- 36:22see it from the ground. So those are the kind of things that we
- 36:23do. We're gonna make sure your home is safe. And and like we
- 36:27told him, you know, you're you're fortunate, sir, you don't have
- 36:30a lot of roof damage, but you did need this done because it was
- 36:32going to cause you a lot of problems down the road. So and that
- 36:35and that to me is one of the that's one of the key factors right
- 36:37there, is to try to avoid a major problem down the line. Called
- 36:40Daniel Cook and his guys to come out take a look at the house now,
- 36:44so you can avoid a major problem down the line. So give them
- 36:46a call eight three three Cook DFW for that free roof inspection eight three to
- 36:50three Cook DFW and COOKDFW dot com. It's the street house. Let's get
- 36:57Jacqueline from Brooks Plumbing into the treehouse now. The phone number two one four
- 37:00three six eight thirty eight thirty eight, and the website Brooks Plumbing Texas dot
- 37:04com. Jacqueline, I'm curious what is the most common problem that people call
- 37:07you and hoping that you can help them fix. I have a lot of
- 37:12people that call me and they like us so much, and they want to
- 37:15know, do you guys do HVAC? Do you guys do electrical? And
- 37:19we don't. You know, it used to be back in the day there
- 37:21were not a lot of companies that did more than one trade. It's become
- 37:24more so of a frequent thing circa the late ninety early two thousands. But
- 37:30I'm like a walking little black book of contractors, and so, like I've
- 37:34always said, if I can't do it, I know somebody who can.
- 37:37Like, for example, we don't do remodels, but I have a company
- 37:39that does plumbing that I would allow in well, well, we'd remodel my
- 37:44house. But I've got a company that I would have in my house if
- 37:46I needed to remodel. I've got electricians that I trust that will push you
- 37:52to the front of the line in if you call them same day, if
- 37:57you say I was your your point of reference, you know I've got an
- 38:00HVAC company that I trust. And it's because I'll tell you, when you
- 38:04are a contractor, you're ten times more critical of the other contractors that you
- 38:07work with because you know when you're getting a sales pitch, you know when
- 38:10something is overpriced. You might not know why. But so that's what I
- 38:15get a lot of. So because most anything that you that you need plumbing,
- 38:20we can handle, but we don't go beyond that. But I've got
- 38:23some I got a guy. You're the girl that's always got a guy.
- 38:28And you know that's actually that makes sense that that's one of the most common
- 38:30things that you get because if you've done a really good job for someone,
- 38:32they're going to be desperate for you to do all the things. But obviously
- 38:36you you focus on one and you do it really well. But you have
- 38:38others that you can recommend to people that carry your stamp of approval. And
- 38:43you have our stamp of approval. So give Jacqueline and Brooks Plumbing a call
- 38:46for any and all of your plumbing once and needs two, one, four,
- 38:49three, six, eight, thirty eight, thirty eight and the website
- 38:51Brooks Plumbing Texas dot com. You're in there online at treehouseonair dot com.
- 39:04This segment of the Treehouse brought to you by our friends at Brooks Plumbing two
- 39:07one four, three six eight thirty eight thirty eight. Is their phone number
- 39:09for any and all of your plumbing wants and needs called Brooks Plumbing two one
- 39:15four, three six eight thirty eight thirty eight or the website Brooks Plumbing Texas
- 39:21dot com Brooks Plumbing Texas dot com. I couldn't help, but when they
- 39:30released the map or the Rangers Parade in Arlington, it dawned on me that's
- 39:37like, oh, yeah, this is the first time Arlington's had to actually
- 39:38plan a major one of these, like they have they've had like Fourth of
- 39:43July parades and you know, things for kids and stuff like that in the
- 39:45past. But I mean, you're talking about having to accommodate hundreds of thousands
- 39:50of people descending on the middle part of Arlington. Yeah, and they said
- 39:54there close to five hundred thousand Jesus Yeah, And you know, and then
- 40:01I was reading up about it and like parking is free everywhere, and the
- 40:06admission of the thing is free. I'm like, I understand that, but
- 40:08you know, it's it's also a way for it's a way to give back
- 40:12to the fans, but there's also a way to generate revenue and pay for
- 40:16more security. Even if you charge five bucks or ten bucks, I think
- 40:21it would eliminate a lot of the hassle, right yeah, because I mean
- 40:22if people go, ah, we'll watch on TV instead of paying ten bucks
- 40:25or fifteen bucks whatever it is. But when you make everything like I just
- 40:29think of just the logistical nightmare of all of those people in a a in
- 40:34a city that's not designed to be that big or to accommodate that many people.
- 40:39But I'm watching it that they're look like it looks like they're doing a
- 40:42great job. So yeah, just that's just a lot, a lot,
- 40:47a lot of people in your city. But so I mean maybe it'll maybe
- 40:50it'll do some good for the economy short term, like people going into restaurants
- 40:54and eating and oh yeah, no, it's going to be it's going to
- 40:57be a huge boon for businesses in Arlington, and not just for to day
- 41:00but going into next year because I mean season ticket sales are going to go
- 41:04through the roof next year. Everything everything is on the way up now for
- 41:06the Rangers because now that they finally won a World Series. Yeah, I
- 41:08will say I saw the the little video someone posted because the Rangers were in
- 41:14a very sad club up until last Wednesday. They were one of six teams
- 41:19in Major League Baseball without a World Series title. Since they've won, now
- 41:24they're five, and someone took all the baseball logos and put them on the
- 41:29toys from Toy story. When the one toy drives away, that's the Rangers
- 41:34because they just won a World Series and it leaves Woody and the other ones
- 41:37behind with like the Seattle Mariners logo, and they're on the porch looking like,
- 41:40hey, what about what about us? So? Who the other?
- 41:45Who are the other teams? Trey? Can you help me on this one?
- 41:47I know it's Seattle, and I've I'm a bad sports fan. This
- 41:52goes to show how much that twenty eleven World Series loss broke me. Is
- 41:55I've not watched a whole lot of baseball since then, and I haven't followed
- 42:00a whole lot of No. No, I followed you know, football.
- 42:05I'm still an idiot Cowboys fan, and because the MAVs finally got one in
- 42:07twenty eleven, I'm excited about whatever they can do but I got I was
- 42:12baseball broken for a while. Wow that bad. I was in La So
- 42:16I mean, did I missed that whole sadness? I guess that had befallen
- 42:22the city of Dallas. I think San Diego is one. Yeah, got
- 42:28the San Diego, Milwaukee, Seattle. Mm hmm, give me a second.
- 42:36I have to accept all the cookies. See real sports shows, they
- 42:38already know this stuff. We just look it up on the fly and tell
- 42:42you that we're looking it up. Other sports shows may not know it,
- 42:44but they'll look it up and pretend that they didn't know it. Padres,
- 42:46Brewers, Mariners, Rockies, Rais. Oh wait, that's not right,
- 42:52Oh no, it is okay, Yeah, never mind. I was thinking
- 42:54the Rays didn't include but they've been to the World Series but had not one.
- 42:58Same with the Rockies. Oh gotcha? Okay? Well, I mean,
- 43:01well best so the five better left San Diego, Milwaukee, Seattle,
- 43:06Colorado, and the Tampa Bay Rays. Gotcha? Okay? Yeah. I
- 43:10was just moved to Los Angeles in twenty eleven, so I was busy doing
- 43:15that when the sadness had hit the range. It is a very cool thing,
- 43:23though, because now all of our major sports teams have have the trophy.
- 43:28You know, Cowboys they've got five you know, you know stored away
- 43:31at the Star. The Mavericks got THEIRS in twenty eleven. The Rangers now
- 43:40have THEIRS that they've been so desperate for for so many years. And the
- 43:45Stars have THEIRS and the Stars have Theirs. That's great. That's a great
- 43:50sports city. Well trade you know how many championships the sidekicks one under a
- 43:59tattoo? God? No, I think they might be the reigning king of
- 44:04titles as far as North Texas sports goes. Oh yeah, I think so.
- 44:07I mean I think that would be like six seven. Maybe I don't
- 44:12have my phone to look it up, but yeah, I mean that was
- 44:14I completely forgot that was there. That was the O. G. Dallas
- 44:16dynasty right there. Yeah, I completely forgot that was Dallas. That was
- 44:21indoor soccer. Yeah, and tattoo. Wow, whatever happened to that guy?
- 44:27He became the coach at one point and then it's it's like it's like
- 44:31it's like Joseph in the Bible. The page turns and then nobody knows where
- 44:35he went. I think I think what happened is that this is a very
- 44:38tragic story. I think what happened is when they detonated Reunion Arena, they
- 44:43forgot that the sidekick. Oh my god, it didn't even make the news.
- 44:57They swept it all under the rubble. No one say anything. Maybe
- 45:07no one will notice his shoe is sticking out. That is that's really wrong
- 45:22with me? Someone slapped my wrist, all right. Be sure to check
