Latest / Unlocking The Paradigm Portal / Light In The Dark: When Night Feels Heavy
Transcript
- 0:00Hi, it's Sarah. If tonight feels heavy,
- 0:04confusing, or just a little harder than it should, I'm here
- 0:08with you. If sleep feels far away tonight
- 0:12and your mind just keeps circling the same thoughts like
- 0:16it's trying to solve something unsolvable, you're not alone.
- 0:21I'll sit here in the dark with you and hold up a Lantern, just
- 0:24enough light to help you see the next few steps.
- 0:27This is light in the dark, a few quiet minutes for when the world
- 0:31goes still but the inside doesn't, because sometimes the
- 0:35mind gets louder when everything else gets quiet.
- 0:40It starts replaying conversations, rewriting
- 0:43endings, predicting futures that haven't happened and may never
- 0:46happen. It tries to protect.
- 0:50It tries to prepare. It tries to make sure nothing
- 0:54catches you off guard again. But tonight, just for tonight,
- 0:59nothing needs to be solved. Now imagine sitting outside in
- 1:04the dark for a moment. And I don't mean the kind of
- 1:07darkness that feels scary. The kind that feels wide open,
- 1:11like on a beautiful summer night, where the breeze is just
- 1:16flowing through and it's warm, and you just feel like you can
- 1:20take a deep breath and the sky is above you and so many stars.
- 1:26And instead of the world pressing in, it feels like
- 1:30everything has paused. And in that moment, in just
- 1:35those few seconds, you can just be.
- 1:40So breathe into that image and just remember what that feels
- 1:43like. And now in that space in the
- 1:50distance, there's a small Lantern, and you can see it, but
- 1:55it's pretty far away, and it's giving off this soft glow that
- 1:58is just bright enough to soften the edges of everything that's
- 2:02nearby it. Now that Lantern is so important
- 2:08to see and to remember, because that's all clarity really needs
- 2:11to be. Sometimes it may be a
- 2:14floodlight, and sometimes it's just something gentle enough to
- 2:17show the next few steps. Because the mind often wants
- 2:22certainty before it will rest. But certainty can be so loud,
- 2:28and rest is so quiet. So tonight the invitation is to
- 2:34let the unanswered questions exist without chasing them.
- 2:38All that is important will be there after you rest, and all
- 2:43that is meaningful will be there even if you pause on thinking
- 2:47about it for a while. And if anything, clarity comes
- 2:51back when the nervous system finally feels safe enough to
- 2:54soften, to breathe, to expand. So when it feels like you're
- 3:00carrying everything and then some, and when the weight
- 3:03becomes so heavy you want to cry, be gentle with yourself and
- 3:09sit with me and take some breaths, even for a moment.
- 3:13Let's do it right now. In through your nose, out
- 3:15through your mouth. And keep breathing like that.
- 3:26Just let your mind run and it will eventually start to slow
- 3:30down. And while you breathe, I'm going
- 3:34to remind you that you are incredible and you are resilient
- 3:39and you are brave and so very strong and you deserve to rest.
- 3:48So see what you can set down just for tonight.
- 3:52If the thoughts and the pressures come back, and they
- 3:54might, they don't need to be pushed away.
- 3:58They can pass through like distant traffic, kind of
- 4:01noticeable, but not urgent, like background noise.
- 4:06The night doesn't demand answers, it just holds space.
- 4:09And that is why I am here, to hold space for you.
- 4:14And right now, that's enough. So if sleep comes, let it come
- 4:19gently, and if it doesn't, rest anyway, because even stillness
- 4:26counts as restoration. And I'm just sitting here in the
- 4:30dark with you holding up a Lantern.
- 4:32So the next few steps feel a little less hidden.
- 4:37Now we'll pause here for tonight, and I'll leave the
- 4:39Lantern beside you. Just enough light for those next
- 4:42few steps. You don't have to figure
- 4:45everything out before morning, so rest if you can, and if not,
- 4:50just stay here in the quiet and I'll be here when you come back.
