- 0:16episode of the Christian re podcast.
- 0:18Today's guest is a good friend of mine.
- 0:20It's Calamity hatcheries back for the fourth time, I believe.
- 0:24Now, welcome back my friend, I'm very well man.
- 0:28Thank you for so much for having me back.
- 0:30I really appreciate it. Said I got my it.
- 0:33How are you doing? Yeah, yeah, I'm good.
- 0:36I'm good man's pleasure. To have you back.
- 0:39You know, I've been keeping up in keeping track of what you've
- 0:41been doing, you know, because you can appreciate this as well.
- 0:45Like it's when you go into like hyper drive with content
- 0:48creating and you're really serious about it, you just don't
- 0:51have the time to like, you know, really consume anyone elses part
- 0:55from maybe your favorites and stuff, it really takes up all
- 0:58your time. But, you know, I glance every
- 1:01now and again, what you're doing.
- 1:03I'm looking, I'm paying attention and stuff because I
- 1:05think that's really important. Like, as you grow, excuse me,
- 1:08I'll call him talk. As you grow, you know, you need
- 1:13to have the people around you, you know.
- 1:14It's like that expression. What is it?
- 1:17If you want to go fast, go alone.
- 1:20If you want to go far, go together or whatever it is.
- 1:23Yeah, yeah. No I get you.
- 1:25I've been thinking about that more and more you know it's
- 1:27Times Gone on. That's where you get so many.
- 1:29Houses, which would like content creator houses.
- 1:33Ah, well, I don't know. There'd ever thing.
- 1:37But I wouldn't, I wouldn't be against the idea.
- 1:40I think I'm a bit too old for it now though.
- 1:42I think we've kind of missed the boat on that, haven't we?
- 1:45Yeah, I don't know. I don't know.
- 1:46Maybe I mean, you see times in the people, you have, okay?
- 1:51I don't feel my age though. I don't know about you, but I
- 1:53don't feel the same. Yeah, because I'm 20, I said, I
- 1:56turned 28 in. May What was your birthday?
- 2:00How old are you now? April 28.
- 2:02April 2000. Shit.
- 2:04Oh you're older than me. Oh fuck I think I know I never
- 2:06knew that. I think I've spoken about this
- 2:08before but yeah, well actually that leads me on to fun
- 2:11questions. So you're born on April 1st, you
- 2:14are literally a joke. Haha.
- 2:16We do my entire existence is Jacqueline.
- 2:19How did that happen, man? You told me there was a story
- 2:21behind it. Let's go and not so much of a of
- 2:25a story, but there was a thing where my mum called Told my
- 2:29granddad and said I'm going into labor right now.
- 2:33You're not just from. No.
- 2:35You're not. And you just are very just like
- 2:37you're pulling my leg. No.
- 2:39And then, it took my dad to take the phone because my dad doesn't
- 2:43mess around with. Some wasn't no, Alan genuinely.
- 2:46She's having a baby and oh, get your ass in the car.
- 2:52Start going bad. What was okay?
- 2:59This is sound like a weird question, but since we're on the
- 3:01topic of births, what was your birthday like like yeah that's
- 3:05such a weird thing to say like your birthday as in the day you
- 3:09were born, you know? I mean like no one ever says
- 3:11that that. Yeah.
- 3:12Anyway. Like because I've had mine
- 3:14described to me and I'll explain what mine was like, but like
- 3:17tell me about what yours was like.
- 3:19What was your parents explained? Like how was it?
- 3:21That's the only real thing that, I know.
- 3:23I know that I was Quite small. But that's all.
- 3:29I really know to be honest. I never really asked too much
- 3:32about it because I'm just like I get that it's the start of my
- 3:36existence into this world but really So what you know it's the
- 3:41training day, is it, what do you learn on that day that?
- 3:47Oh, no, the rest of your life, you're not wrong.
- 3:49Never really thought about it. I'm so glad that we have no
- 3:52recollection of that or anything like the, imagine how terrifying
- 3:55that would be can't. I can't deal with the thought of
- 4:00what that must have been. Like, I do wonder sometimes when
- 4:03babies are like really young, like, you know, between the ages
- 4:05of light zero up to like two when they start kind of of
- 4:10recognizing things and people and smells and stuff.
- 4:12I do kind of Wonder like Do they think but not in the terms of
- 4:17like, you know, constructive thought like we have.
- 4:20But like, we know that it's possible to think sort of above
- 4:25our own comprehension and level of understanding, you know what
- 4:29I mean? Like, for instance, you know, we
- 4:31know that, like, you know, animals dream, for example.
- 4:33Yeah. Do you reckon that's the case.
- 4:36Do you reckon they, at, they can understand things or, I don't
- 4:40know. I don't even know what I'm
- 4:42asking right now. I think I think like But in
- 4:46relative terms, right? So not in the terms in which me
- 4:49and you understand things, if we see a tree where like that's a
- 4:52tree, And then you have to think that the word tree to either
- 4:58that baby all that animal is not a word.
- 5:01There is their own thought, process for what that is, even
- 5:05though it's the exact same object, you know, an animal is
- 5:09not going to be that to treat. They have their own term for
- 5:11that sometimes when I think about this, like I'll have days
- 5:15where I spaced out and I start thinking about like what if
- 5:18there were more colors you know that drug talk basically but I'm
- 5:21not I'm not I'm not like you know it's just You thought, and
- 5:25I genuinely start getting a bit, like, freaked out when I start
- 5:29thinking about it, and I can't explain why.
- 5:31But it's this idea of like beyond our own level of
- 5:35understanding and comprehension of just everything that we
- 5:38perceive and then I start having all these questions.
- 5:40Like for example, the way that I see the world is that the same
- 5:45way that everyone sees it and I'm not talking about, you know,
- 5:48how I feel, but like more like literal perception like if I see
- 5:52the color gray. Out of me.
- 5:54Would you see it exactly the same way, or if yeah, I smell
- 5:59something. Do you smell it the same way?
- 6:01Like, you know what I mean? It's see, I would say there's
- 6:04evidence that you don't smell things the same way on the basis
- 6:08that the opinions of people have on different smells for
- 6:12instance, some people can't stand the smell of petrol.
- 6:15I personally love it, but that must smell different to me than
- 6:19it does to the person who hates it because there's a different
- 6:21reaction that I agree with you. I've That to lights but
- 6:25especially when it's like a particular hatred for a smell or
- 6:29like it's so funny when you read somebody's like I don't know.
- 6:32They're eating some food that you detest.
- 6:34Like for example, I hate celery, I can't amazing, amazing, it's
- 6:39awful, awful. But then those people that my
- 6:41granddad would like, almost eat it off the stick and I'm like,
- 6:44what's wrong with you the humanity or no?
- 6:47Nice. This horrible that says that
- 6:50Mom. I as well.
- 6:51Isn't he like you either love it or you hate it?
- 6:53Mom, I saw. A weird one.
- 6:54I can't side, bro. My I'm okay, I'm partial.
- 6:57I'm a Marmite guy. Marmite on toast.
- 6:59I don't think you can go wrong with its.
- 7:01I don't know. I'm kind of like in different
- 7:03like okay. It's like a mood.
- 7:06Do you know what I mean? If I'm like?
- 7:07Yes, right. Okay.
- 7:08I need to put this down there. You have everybody.
- 7:11I feel has toast mood swings. Yeah.
- 7:15And you go through phases of what you want on your toes.
- 7:17So the moment I'm back on a peanut bar, height will die out
- 7:22and I'll go back to Marmite. Oh yeah, yeah.
- 7:24Laughter. And then I'll be like, oh, I
- 7:25fancy Jam for a little while and they're not.
- 7:28You switch taste means. Me and my mom used to do this
- 7:31thing because we were like We were pretty poor and not nobody
- 7:38people know. That people always assume like
- 7:39arethe rich boy went through night school and he speaks very
- 7:43well. We were poor.
- 7:45We, you know, the boiler broke down every year and you know it.
- 7:49Yeah. Like I had to do the whole boil,
- 7:51the kettle and put it in the ball and all that shit and like,
- 7:55you know, literally it was so fun.
- 7:57I remember bringing friends home and they sort of looked around
- 8:00like not in a rude way, but they were like damn Christian like
- 8:03This is where you live like because all of them lived in
- 8:06houses and, like, our school. Now, I look, back was in a
- 8:10pretty affluent area. Most most kids that went to our
- 8:14school were pretty well off, you know, their families?
- 8:16Yeah, I mean, it was a fluent yet in a not-so-great area.
- 8:22I did. Oh, you know, I think it depends
- 8:24because ruislip was was really nice.
- 8:28I loved right up, I loved living that they were dodgy pots of
- 8:31rice lip, but mostly, it was a very nice area.
- 8:33Ria. And I don't know what is itself.
- 8:39Wasn't a nice area. I don't think we're what that
- 8:42word noise surrounding areas. They all kind of contributed.
- 8:46It was confusing. I felt like the more you push
- 8:49towards north of school. The rough road got.
- 8:53Yes. But then if you went left there
- 8:56at the roundabout, and you started going up towards
- 8:58northward Northwood. That's who you are in the money.
- 9:01That's what that was. I proper Posh.
- 9:03Oh, I must have when you get past Like the so when you get to
- 9:07that roundabout, I love how we talk about it.
- 9:09So you get into stopping off at else.
- 9:11Ice cream. There's around about it.
- 9:12You've got no food school on your right hand side with the
- 9:15library. Yeah go left and pass the Iron
- 9:18Bridge. Then it's all like golf clubs
- 9:21and directly not so not, so no record deal but directly over
- 9:25that. Again, that I will feed down
- 9:26there a few times and it look, Ralph Ralph Ralph.
- 9:28So I must have missed that completely.
- 9:31It's what it's literally when you get to that I am bridge over
- 9:33the road. The train one.
- 9:37I like proper Posh. I think I went down there a few
- 9:40times. Actually, I do.
- 9:41I do vaguely recall like part. I remember this was weird.
- 9:44There was, there was a park in Northwood and then there was
- 9:48like a like a writ, the world's crutch shittiest skate ramp
- 9:51ever. And like, literally, I remember
- 9:54that. It was terrible.
- 9:56It was like, you couldn't skate on it, but I remember this was
- 9:59how weird, this was there was a shop there, which was like a
- 10:03tire shop. I don't know car auto Thing, and
- 10:07it literally said, like, we're straight and tires.
- 10:09And I used to stand there and look at that, and be like, why
- 10:11is it called that? It's not it's not in the same
- 10:15area it Smiles. Like it takes a good from
- 10:17Northwood it so good. 30 minute drive, like it's not any.
- 10:23Yeah. I mean, maybe they started their
- 10:26and relocated but they'll change the name like right way.
- 10:30Keeping that name. I did that doesn't?
- 10:32Yeah, it would look. I mean, we're straight look no
- 10:34offense to anyone that lives in West rating.
- 10:35It's probably not very many listening but it's a shithole.
- 10:39It's getting slightly better, very slowly, but I lived there
- 10:44for a bit. I fucking hate it.
- 10:45And here's the thing I got worse.
- 10:47Yeah, well they got rid of the police station.
- 10:51Ross, did they didn't know that. Yep.
- 10:53When I was living there. I hated.
- 10:55And the reason I hated it was that I moved like we moved as I
- 11:00was doing my gcses. It was a bit mad time.
- 11:04Yeah. And I I love dry slip it like
- 11:07it's in my heart like that that to me is the last place that I
- 11:11actually felt like at home. Once we move to West Drayton, we
- 11:14had like a nice apartment but it was in a crappy area and you
- 11:20know It was very hit and miss Jin.
- 11:23And I mean, yeah, it was nice. And I just always hated it and
- 11:26it, for me, it was like a countdown until I could move
- 11:29out. Really?
- 11:30Yeah, I get that. There's this rough.
- 11:33I don't know. I hate rough areas but then all
- 11:36of our bit is if you go, you know, like you've got hazed.
- 11:38I just get spaghetti announced, literally.
- 11:41Yeah. If you put this in order of
- 11:42shitless so it's like yeah and like Oxbridge again another
- 11:46place that's called really bad like yeah, it used to To be,
- 11:51okay? And then, yeah, now it's really
- 11:54like awful and it's like, literally Uxbridge terrible,
- 11:57then usually, which is more or less where straighten, and then
- 12:01we're straight in which is terrible.
- 12:02Then Hayes and Hounslow if you've ever been that right?
- 12:07Oh my God, I never got to Heathrow for anything but the
- 12:09airport people saying it now. Yeah.
- 12:12It's literally the way I always describe like places like
- 12:15Oxbridge and Hayes is like towns that you drive through to get to
- 12:19the airport. Exactly.
- 12:23It's just remembered. No need to stop.
- 12:25Sorry, remember the days of fascinating part.
- 12:28I do. I'm Sprint.
- 12:29I do it looks very cheeky Chinese at lunch.
- 12:33Everyone. Hanging out outside, Tesco.
- 12:35Like the little Emos who were, I grew, I grew up.
- 12:38So there was a big stage between I think the ages of like 11 to
- 12:42like 13, 14 where I was there all the time, but then I started
- 12:46making London friends and then I was like screw Fasteners which
- 12:49London so it's Different. I was in Games Workshop in
- 12:57Oxbridge playing Warhammer as fan.
- 13:00We literally, it was me and my friend Louis and I think this is
- 13:04the first time that we've realized girls properly exist.
- 13:07Yes. It's these girls came into Games
- 13:08Workshop and started talking to us.
- 13:10You my girls and my like old come to you should come too fast
- 13:13manage. And literally from that day, it
- 13:16started being a thing that we were going to fasten each every
- 13:18weekend because that's where the women are.
- 13:23Young teenage hatch. It was so true because I used to
- 13:29go skateboarding boarding. Therefore, I started when I was
- 13:3111, I think I stopped. And I was about 17 or something.
- 13:34I literally, I skated like, basically, every single day,
- 13:38like, we're Islip, Oxbridge Harrow.
- 13:43I used to go to Basics, T6 and London quite often, like, like
- 13:46all the time. I used to even get up and
- 13:47weekends early to go. Like, I don't know what the
- 13:50fuck. God, I miss Bay basically six is
- 13:54good, it's good, but yeah, and then somewhere around 14 this
- 14:01kind of age started dating girls and then suddenly it's like oh
- 14:07do you want to come London? Where there's women or you wanna
- 14:09go skateboarding? I think I'll go where there's
- 14:13women. Yeah.
- 14:15And then you turn up with the skateboard to try and get
- 14:17yourself a bit of credibility trying to make yourself look a
- 14:19bit cooler. So oh yeah, I can do a trick.
- 14:21And to be honest, I just couldn't be asked to carry the
- 14:24skateboard around like I did few times.
- 14:27Carry it with me because I figured like it was just nice to
- 14:29skate around in London, but then I kind of realized quickly that
- 14:32I wouldn't be doing any skateboarding and all of my time
- 14:35would be spent dancing and drinking having a good time,
- 14:38whatever partying. And as Isis could be asked to
- 14:40carry around. So I just I was kind of sad but
- 14:43things things cut it, just eventually this it's like today
- 14:48else. Yes, like these days like, you
- 14:50know, I don't, I kind of got all of that party stuff out of my
- 14:54system and like, I still want to party and have a good time.
- 14:57I still very young, but the same time.
- 15:00I don't know. I'm very introverted these days,
- 15:02you know, unless I know you, if I know you, it's like, you know,
- 15:07fucking soul of the party. If I don't, like, if you meet me
- 15:10in real life, I'm very Different from school days.
- 15:13I'm like introverted, I rarely start conversations.
- 15:17I wait for the other person that I just keep to myself like Lone
- 15:20Ranger and I'm quite the same, to be honest like that.
- 15:23Yeah, I don't know. Like I it took me a very long
- 15:26time to figure out that that I'm, that sort of person and
- 15:29it's really ironic because my mom is that sort of person.
- 15:32And we used to have like mini arguments, not really arguments,
- 15:36but she always used to say, oh, you know, one day when you grow
- 15:39up, you'll be like me where you'll be sitting Reading books
- 15:43or like, you know, doing stuff on your own alone and you will
- 15:46enjoy. And I'm just like, no, that will
- 15:48never be me. And now, I've literally become
- 15:51that person. Like, if anything else, like a
- 15:53lot of the time I'm like, I could go out or I could stay
- 15:58home and be happy at home, you know?
- 16:01I mean, I think that you hit the nail on the head there.
- 16:03I mean, we're approaching say, dude, we are approaching say,
- 16:08no, I like home in. Rock Club.
- 16:13Yeah, face, that video, ever as I am sitting at home watching
- 16:18Netflix with, it's all about the company can do.
- 16:21It is about the company 100. That's the thing.
- 16:23Like, I only have, I have very few friends.
- 16:26I've got, like, a few people who I can trust my life, and then,
- 16:31basically, I can count on my fingers, like most people, most
- 16:34of that, like I said, 90% of the time I'm alone, I don't really
- 16:36speak to anyone, you know, that's that's the way it is.
- 16:41And Because I used to be really sad like this.
- 16:44Okay, this is a bit sad but that's just the truth.
- 16:46I've never spoken. Let's keep that one when I was
- 16:48at school. Like not so much in my okay.
- 16:55So like between the ages of like I would say, 11 to like 15 or
- 16:5816, I was very happy, you know, I was constantly, I had friend
- 17:01groups in London friend. Groups Hayden.
- 17:04Like I was, I was pretty happy but I started to notice
- 17:07problems. So, like I started to try to get
- 17:09into, like, remember like Ben and Chris from school.
- 17:11Like I tried to kind of hang out with them and their group.
- 17:16But like I quickly realized like I was the guy that no one ever
- 17:19called and I was the guy that was never included.
- 17:21And don't get me wrong. I wasn't like the easiest
- 17:24person. I had my own shit to deal with
- 17:26but like yeah, I realized very quickly that I was being left
- 17:30out on purpose, like I could feel it and I confronted them
- 17:34all about it quite a few times because I'm quite foot while I
- 17:37was forward like that these days, I don't give a shit but
- 17:40back then I cared and I was constantly trying to fit in and
- 17:44I didn't realize back then that I was this type of person.
- 17:47Like I just an independent person I suppose.
- 17:51Yeah. Yeah, I was like petrified of
- 17:53being alone, petrified of, you know.
- 17:55And then when I got to sort of six form age 16, I would say,
- 17:58between the ages of about 16 up to 21, to be honest, I just felt
- 18:07super alone like, you know, very depressed.
- 18:12I can pretty safely say that it was depression at this point.
- 18:15Yeah. And you know, I was bullied
- 18:17pretty mercilessly in sixth form for like a year and then Stopped
- 18:22and then sort of the band stuff started happening.
- 18:25So I had something to take my focus and I did consider those
- 18:29guys friends. But like, other than that, I all
- 18:32I did was Eva skate or, you know, see my friends in the band
- 18:37and but I didn't really talk to anyone else.
- 18:39And then obviously started dating someone for three years
- 18:42and a relationship really helped, but like when it ended.
- 18:48So this was the beginning of 2014.
- 18:52So is the year that I was going to University but I was kind of
- 19:00back to square. One it on your own.
- 19:03Don't be like, oh, dude, it was I got to say it was probably You
- 19:13still think about it? I'd say it was the lowest moment
- 19:17of my life because I felt yeah I felt extremely lonely.
- 19:23I was depressed because of The Break-Up and I was also a
- 19:26miserable because I was forcing myself to go to this Supermarket
- 19:29job that I hated. Luckily, at that point it was
- 19:31part-time and I was doing this college course but I was like my
- 19:34head was not in it. I had to force myself to go
- 19:37there and and and care and like my head and my heart was
- 19:41somewhere else. But like I was on autopilot and
- 19:45I just Genuinely had nowhere to go, nothing to do.
- 19:48And I remember it, you know, it for quite a few Summers there.
- 19:52So okay, so I'll explain. So the to the year or half
- 19:55before I got into that relationship in those Summers
- 19:58and all that time. I was depressed.
- 20:00I had no one to hang around with, right?
- 20:02It was the same in that beginning of that year.
- 20:05When we broke up and it was summer again, and this was the
- 20:11last summer before going to University, right?
- 20:14I had no idea. See how that would change my
- 20:16life for the better but it you know, basically it got to a
- 20:21point where I was so miserable and sick and tired of being
- 20:26miserable. The I just I literally remember
- 20:29dust. I remember the day.
- 20:30I was like, fuck it. I'm just gonna go to London to
- 20:34some random show, I don't care. I'm just sick and tired of
- 20:38sitting on my own being alone, feeling like this.
- 20:41I'm just gonna go, I don't even care that.
- 20:43I'll be alone and feel alone. Better than being at home and
- 20:47feeling alone, at least the people around.
- 20:50So I just went out to Camden and because I loved handin, it was
- 20:54always good. But yeah, went to some random
- 20:57show and I met a friend of mine. Shouts, princess Maha.
- 21:01The one of the coolest fucking human beings have ever met in my
- 21:04life. So, our list off a couple of
- 21:07things, she is the lead singer of a punk, rock band, the cup
- 21:11all female, very cool and she has her own record label.
- 21:15I think I mentioned her on the podcast before but whatever she
- 21:19has a PhD in Psychology, she's doctor.
- 21:22She's literally Jesus coolest fucking person ever.
- 21:25And but more importantly, she was the type of person I needed
- 21:29to meet back then because I needed someone finding my life
- 21:33to make me kind of remember that.
- 21:35I was a young guy and I should be out having fun and making the
- 21:38most of life, not sitting feeling alone and feeling
- 21:41miserable and you know, she took a liking to me.
- 21:45We fancied each other. So there was a bit of a thing
- 21:49but it was more about the friendship was always about the
- 21:50Friendship. Yeah.
- 21:52And she got me out of my comfort zone and we ended up going to
- 21:55America together for like two weeks and that was fucking
- 22:01awesome. Like I remember there was a
- 22:04particular moment. There was a couple of moments
- 22:06that were amazing being in the desert being in Las Vegas.
- 22:08But the one that stands out for me the most was being on Santa
- 22:12Monica beach and being like in the water.
- 22:15Water. And by I was on the beach just
- 22:17kind of with my staff and I was just swimming in the, in the, in
- 22:22the sea and I just for the first time in like years, I felt like
- 22:26genuinely free and like happy. And I knew that when I would go
- 22:30back, I'd be quitting that job that I hated going to
- 22:33University, everything would change.
- 22:35And I just had to put up with like what like another month of
- 22:38crap, you know? But I could do it because I
- 22:40could see the end goal, you know.
- 22:43Yeah. 100%. And Yeah, man.
- 22:46Like, I mean, I won't like, after that point there have been
- 22:50points were being like, lonely and stuff here and there.
- 22:53Like, for example, I've been single now for about three
- 22:59years, I think, and in the beginning of that, it was very
- 23:02hard, but once I kind of learned, okay, you're not the
- 23:08type of person that's supposed to be part of groups.
- 23:10Like people don't include you, you're not that sort of person,
- 23:13but if you are confident in yourself and comfortable in your
- 23:19own space, ironically, people are more interested in you and
- 23:24will be more inclined to invite you out.
- 23:25It's reverse psychology but and people told me this for years
- 23:30and I never listened to them because I was just like, oh,
- 23:32that's nonsense, that's rubbish. How can that be true?
- 23:35But it is when you're doing your own thing and you're confident
- 23:38and you're happy people gravitate towards that and they
- 23:40want to be, they want to know what, why is this guy so happy?
- 23:43What's he got to be happy about? Want some of that.
- 23:45It's like a drug. Yeah.
- 23:47Yeah exactly. But it's a pro process.
- 23:50It took a long time to get to this point.
- 23:53I think it's something that comes to content creation as
- 23:55well in the sense of like the demands on our time and like
- 24:01you're putting out more content. And I am these days to be
- 24:03completely honest with you, I have a you've already made it.
- 24:06I'm still busting my eyes. I've got my let's quickly talk
- 24:11about that. You've literally the last time I
- 24:13checked you past 12:00 Subscribers.
- 24:16So we'd already mentioned in the last episode that we did
- 24:19together. That you hit the 1000.
- 24:21My I'd wager, if it's not 12:00, it's pushing 1500.
- 24:24You'll be. You'll definitely get to 1500 by
- 24:27summer. That's yeah, without that's,
- 24:29that's on track. Yeah, and that's kind of what I
- 24:32mean because with mine, it's been slow.
- 24:36And I think if I had to theorize, it's because your
- 24:41Niche and you've pushed that Niche to that.
- 24:45Fullest extent. And probably the biggest thing
- 24:47for you has been the livestreams.
- 24:50You are different in the sense that most people would do, all
- 24:52their live streams on Twitch, you do it on YouTube, which I
- 24:55think is a fantastic idea idea. And you've become on many
- 24:59occasions, the most successful sort of live stream for the
- 25:04okay. Hang on, hang on, Super Mario.
- 25:07No, not Super Mario. Have it's going to come from.
- 25:12Rule Mel a Smash Bros, Super Smash Bros face.
- 25:17Yeah, it is, yeah, many times you've been number one streamer
- 25:21in the UK. Sometimes you even in the
- 25:25distant in, for the topic, in general, like, just the top.
- 25:28Yeah. Like there's a lot of times that
- 25:30I'm looking at the other streams that are going on at the same
- 25:32time as me and in terms of English-speaking streams,
- 25:36because the Japanese Market is a whole different thing and a
- 25:39tray. It be in terms of
- 25:41English-speaking. Screams, you know, I've got the
- 25:43most concurrent viewers at the time and things like that, and
- 25:47it's just crazy. How this is really blowing up
- 25:49from that, the Smash Bros streams are not easy.
- 25:55By any means, smashes a stressful game.
- 25:59There's a lot of things that I have to kind of keep an eye on
- 26:02while I'm streaming at the same time.
- 26:04In terms of like making sure everyone's getting games and
- 26:06stuff like that. Okay, let's do dealing with
- 26:09Nintendo and they're terrible. Windows 98 servers.
- 26:13It's so what's not easy? They recently Nintendo of
- 26:17upgraded. Their server equipment for the
- 26:20reusing window, that's not what you mean.
- 26:23How could they still be using Windows 98?
- 26:26We don't know. But that's why the online was so
- 26:28bad. She's like Smash Bros crashes
- 26:31online all the time. Wow, that's not because they
- 26:35just, they don't pay any money into the online server side of
- 26:39things, I guess they saw a Nintendo as well.
- 26:41You know what? We was, it's probably when all
- 26:43that controversy happened and suddenly that everyone were
- 26:45talking about Super Smash Bros that raised the stock because
- 26:49you know, it's the famous saying, goes controversy creates
- 26:52cash. So it was the other thing is, as
- 26:54well, it wasn't just for Smash Bros like any Nintendo online
- 26:59game is using these servers. Oh, what?
- 27:04Yeah, it's mad. I split une, Mario car.
- 27:08Anything. You can think of, on the switch
- 27:10was using these terrible terrible.
- 27:11Our servers and now we've moved on from that.
- 27:13Well, we're starting to move on from that and they're putting
- 27:16their stuff it and you know, I gotta say, You're Gone Gone.
- 27:20Smash his hot smash. His heart is a hard game to
- 27:23stream. I can make some mean that.
- 27:25Yeah, please do, please. The there's a lot of toxicity in
- 27:30that Community as well, but I think I'm quite lucky in the
- 27:33sense that my little pocket community that I've got is so
- 27:38solid. The you know, that's a cue from.
- 27:43That's not saying that we're completely the nicest, people
- 27:46ever fluffy all the time, some you know saltiness comes with
- 27:49games at the end of the day I'll have my salty moments, other
- 27:53people have their salty moments but generally this community is
- 27:56really been so lovely and they've really come together in
- 27:59that regard and it's really nice to see to have this on a lot
- 28:02pocket of YouTube. Something that you do that.
- 28:05I've actually started doing recently that I think is the
- 28:08main reason why you're Successful right now is the fact
- 28:12that you approach it from the perspective of like you don't
- 28:16create content to get tons of views, you create content for a
- 28:20community, your thought your focus is I want to build this
- 28:23community as much as possible. And the thing is, when when you
- 28:27make that change in mindset, something happens like I've done
- 28:31it with mine. I don't know if you've noticed
- 28:32I've been doing like a lot of live streams lately where?
- 28:34Yeah, I've seen that right? And literally all I do is a
- 28:37talk, right? Okay.
- 28:39And And apparently people like it, you know, sometimes I play
- 28:42music and stuff in there as well, but like mostly it's just
- 28:45talking and you see the same faces coming in and every now
- 28:49and again someone will pop in someone will discover you.
- 28:51Like I had someone subscribe last night and they really dug
- 28:56the content and yeah, but that's the thing.
- 28:57Sorry. So I should I should explain.
- 29:00They were in the livestream, they were having a good time and
- 29:04I saw while I was streaming that they subscribed and this is a
- 29:07key, this is the key. It's like you've got a Live.
- 29:10When you're doing your live stream, is essentially the whole
- 29:12thing is an adverb. It's like subscribe to me,
- 29:15support me, right? And you've got to really win
- 29:17them over. And like you said it's really
- 29:19hard streaming, like people think it's easier.
- 29:20You just sit and play a game, but no like, especially if
- 29:23you're playing the game as well, like you got focus on the game,
- 29:26you've got focus on your audience, you've got to have the
- 29:29energy and be really plugged in. I mean, there's so many things
- 29:32you got to think about, I mean, the way I see it is that it's
- 29:36not so much streaming as you are reacting to your Immunity.
- 29:42And you may have noticed that some of my content recently.
- 29:44As you were saying about it being kind of cater towards my
- 29:46community. Somewhat, we've got the Q&A
- 29:49obviously the happens every month and that's a really good
- 29:51way for people to ask the questions that they want to ask
- 29:54and you know once a month I put that out there, people get
- 29:56things answered and the one that I've recently started doing was
- 30:00the Calamity quickie series, which I know the name.
- 30:04The name just gets a chuckle out of everybody but it was actually
- 30:07inspired by another YouTuber called Omni Who is one of my
- 30:11favorite YouTubers and he is something of a drama commentary
- 30:15Channel. You know, he talks about what's
- 30:17going on and even Twitter and all that kind of thing.
- 30:20And this is this entire Series has been paying homage to that
- 30:23because it's something that does really interest me YouTube
- 30:26drama. There's something that there's
- 30:27never really been a spot for my channel but in doing it in the
- 30:31way of the Calamity quickie, I'm opening it up to the community
- 30:35to say. What do you want me to talk
- 30:37about? What stories are you seeing
- 30:39right now that you want? Me, there have a little talk
- 30:41about and give my opinions. And because of that, it's
- 30:45become, as you said, very like community-focused, hmm?
- 30:49And even then, as you were saying as well, like you get a
- 30:51new person pop it and he's like, oh, I was also watching
- 30:56something about this headline from another YouTuber and then
- 30:58all I quite like this. Show me the check it out.
- 31:00So it's it's quite a good way of growing the community as well
- 31:05as, you know, like bolts bolstering it at the same time,
- 31:08I guess strengthening it. I think one big thing as well,
- 31:12something that I realized was I was very adamant.
- 31:14I'm not going to create more than one channel, everything has
- 31:17to go on the main Channel. And then people start saying
- 31:19like that, like I asked my friends.
- 31:22Hey do I upload too much? I knew the answer and they were
- 31:25like, yeah. And they were, like, you should
- 31:27create, you know, a second channel.
- 31:29So I did. But I didn't have a proper plan
- 31:31for it. And then eventually, you know, I
- 31:35created the third Channel though, podcast Clips Channel,
- 31:37because I was just uploading way too much on the main Channel and
- 31:40I Ironically actually gave me more time for the main Channel
- 31:44and more kind of gave it more breathing room.
- 31:47So at the, you'll notice now there are some days where I
- 31:49don't even upload on the main Channel like a day or two.
- 31:52Yeah, and I do it on purpose and what I'm thinking is that I'm
- 31:57actually going to probably have more channels as time progresses
- 32:02because I'm a multi content creator.
- 32:04It makes it tricky and I think you might have not maybe not a
- 32:07problem with this in the future. But like, But it's very specific
- 32:12to like a particular Niche. You audience expects a certain
- 32:15things if you start doing drastically different content I
- 32:18mean it depends like if they really dig it then you know we
- 32:22can run with it keep it but like chances are if it's so
- 32:25drastically different from the main stuff, it's not fit in with
- 32:28the brand. So you might even have to just
- 32:29do a separate Channel like you know what I mean?
- 32:31And it's ID think we're getting to that.
- 32:33I do think there's going to come to the point where there's the
- 32:36non Sonic Calamity hatches Channel.
- 32:40Yeah, because, you know, there's some things I want to talk
- 32:43about. Did the so much nerdy stuff that
- 32:45I'm into is, you are no, you know, I'll Star Wars is on
- 32:48Marvel DC. All of this kind of Avatar, you
- 32:51know, there's a lot of places I want to go to.
- 32:53And while there are crossovers within the genre of Sonic Star
- 32:57Wars and things like that, you know, they're already that
- 32:59already exists in my community at the moment.
- 33:02I think that we may get to a point where I need to
- 33:05differentiate it because, you know, when you think of like And
- 33:10slots for the week of repair that way.
- 33:12So my ideal situation would be video Monday, Wednesday, Friday,
- 33:17hmm. And then streams, when I can fit
- 33:19the strings in again, there will always be a stream on a
- 33:21Wednesday because that's the best way to be on YouTube as we
- 33:24both know. So I didn't know that I think,
- 33:28did you not know that when what is say, is the busiest night on
- 33:31the platform to got research? It's the night when most people
- 33:36are sad home looking at their phones or looking at YouTube on
- 33:39a computer. So he's the day to push your
- 33:41biggest upload. And also, if you can do a stream
- 33:44that day, your stream, ready? I think yeah, no worries, no
- 33:49worries. But what I mean by that is if
- 33:52I've got said we'll call that three content slots for the
- 33:54week. Well, one of those at the moment
- 33:58is being taken up by one division, which is spending
- 34:00about 20 to 30 views is not a lot, because people and
- 34:04subscribe to my channel to watch about the new Disney place show.
- 34:08Yeah. But you know, it takes up one of
- 34:10those slots, so I think there will be a point where I will end
- 34:14up doing a second channel that is pure lean on Sonic.
- 34:18So it drives that Sonic fanbase forward and they get what they
- 34:20want and they're happy as well as bringing a new audience into
- 34:24a more nerdy themed kind of thing.
- 34:26I think your approach. Well, both of our approaches has
- 34:29been very good like to kind of let time and the audience,
- 34:32dictate it, like the podcast Clips Channel.
- 34:34You know, I never wanted to make another Channel like I thought
- 34:37to was, was a push already. But you know, the third channel
- 34:42was born out of necessity because it was just so many
- 34:45Clips. I was uploading to the Main
- 34:46Channel and it was just Overkill.
- 34:47And I was like, there's got to be a way of like dealing with
- 34:51this and now it's bloody got exactly.
- 34:53I mean, you got Joe Rogan, you got Joe Rogan Clips, you've got
- 34:56H3 podcast and H3 highlights. Like it's a you got job makes
- 35:00happy hour and then Jack mates short of once I forget the name
- 35:03of now. But you know I think that's a
- 35:06really good way to do it with podcasts because it's a much
- 35:10shorter video for people to digest.
- 35:11What we'll say we'll say like 6 to 12 minutes as an ation.
- 35:16That's a much better entry point for someone to see some of them
- 35:19commit to an hour, maybe two hours of above entire podcast,
- 35:23but they see that. And they think, you know what,
- 35:25I'm really liking this, I'm going to go check out the actual
- 35:27podcast itself. What I think you would be good
- 35:30to thing is uploading, actual trailer, type Clips to Facebook,
- 35:37for your podcasts. Like it's actual Facebook videos
- 35:40because for some reason, Facebook videos just seem to
- 35:44pick up. I don't Get it.
- 35:46Like, I've released trailers for upcoming videos if it was like,
- 35:49a particularly big video, I was doing on Facebook and you know,
- 35:53that's not my subscriber base on YouTube.
- 35:55That's just my friends and stuff, but he picks up so much
- 35:58traction to give you using the right code words and stuff
- 36:01keywords or and stuff like that. It's a short game slightly less
- 36:04than a minute. Yeah minute. 30 seconds.
- 36:09Okay I'll try that. He's under.
- 36:10I'm gonna try this because I've been experimenting with YouTube
- 36:14shorts and I'm reels recently, right?
- 36:17Okay. It's all born out of the fact
- 36:19that I've returned to tick-tocks as our fuck it.
- 36:21Like I'm just a fool for not being on the platform so I'll do
- 36:23it good way to grow your audience.
- 36:26Really is and it really is Sonic translates to two hundred
- 36:32percent. If you make sure because it's a
- 36:36minute, you're restricted to a minute, I guarantee you'll push
- 36:39your audit. Like, I've seen that I've gained
- 36:42subscribers, not loads, but I've seen that I've gained
- 36:44subscribers. I mostly put music on there, you
- 36:48know, some music platform. So it makes sense to do that and
- 36:52I even put podcast Clips on there and they do well
- 36:54occasionally, okay, but this idea what you're saying about
- 36:58pink shorts that I've noticed the same thing, like there's
- 37:00videos that I've released that there's this one that I
- 37:03released, which was like a really short 20, 30 second skit
- 37:07on YouTube. Like, what it'll be like, when
- 37:10we come out of quarantine or whatever it released.
- 37:13It like a year ago. Yeah.
- 37:15And I Sort of released a bunch of stuff on Facebook, just to,
- 37:18just for shits and giggles. And then ran, like you said,
- 37:22randomly the, I guess, Facebook algorithm, if there is one
- 37:25picked it up and like, every now and again, they randomly just
- 37:28pushed my videos like, and let's so that, that one's close to
- 37:311,000 views. It doesn't even have that many
- 37:35views on YouTube on Facebook, it does.
- 37:37And then there's other times when I've done, like a twitch
- 37:39stream, like a member with the first time it happened.
- 37:42I discovered that this was the thing was I did like a Five
- 37:46piece Siri or like I did a like a three-hour stream of light on
- 37:51Twitter about I don't know. Things that can write these kids
- 37:54will remember and I started it. I split into like five pieces so
- 37:58it's like half an hour each or something, right.
- 38:00Yeah. And I put them all on Facebook
- 38:02and you know obviously they just sat there for ages and then one
- 38:05day like the fourth part blew up and still to this day, still to
- 38:11this day. The fourth part in the third
- 38:13part banged, but then the Rest of them, just had like, a couple
- 38:17of years later, honey. Okay, so it makes no sense to me
- 38:21because that, that fourth clip got like 50 50 was it like 1500
- 38:27views or something. And so your practice content
- 38:31creators, were always trying to guess the algorithm and there's
- 38:34no science free even though and the algorithm is literally
- 38:37science. One of the things is to it.
- 38:40One thing is for certain short content, right now is something
- 38:43that all content creators need to be doing.
- 38:46Hundred percent. Like, for instance, I would
- 38:49recommend you, do it just set up a shorts Channel.
- 38:52And literally, even if you don't want to make new content and you
- 38:55just want to take like, trailers or short stuff and just stick it
- 38:58on there. I trust me, it'll bang lot on my
- 39:01second Channel I've gone from, since doing shorts.
- 39:05For that, couple of weeks, I've gone from 69 nice 229
- 39:12subscribers. On the second show.
- 39:13Nice, on the third Channel. No less because it's podcast but
- 39:17it went from like 11 subscribers up to like 30 subscribers.
- 39:22Okay, let's do this. There's something for this
- 39:24YouTube shorts algorithm but yeah, same thing on Instagram
- 39:29reels. Shout-out to Charles Jaco.
- 39:32He told me to do it ages ago and I was like now what's the point?
- 39:35And then I just thought, fuck it.
- 39:36I'll put it on there and yeah they ban you know and he's it's
- 39:40really random like it's there's no pattern to it like yeah.
- 39:46For instance, on reels my most successful video as got a 1500
- 39:50views and it's me doing like accents or something, okay?
- 39:55But then the rest of them do average around 100.
- 40:00Jananam is the yeah then there's a few music clips that have like
- 40:03close to 1000. It makes no sense because I'm
- 40:06like well so what I do is I just keep creating whenever I have an
- 40:09idea or do music or anything. I just put it everywhere like
- 40:13death YouTube, I'll guess I'll start.
- 40:16Doing on Facebook now as well. And it will just bang for no
- 40:20reason. I guess I said this to someone
- 40:23recently, but I think shorts is probably just what most people
- 40:28certainly, the younger generation are interested in,
- 40:31you know, EF this Tick-Tock generation type thing of, you
- 40:34know, this short form content really does work.
- 40:37But I still think obviously the content that we produce still
- 40:40has its place. I still think that is the main
- 40:43drive on YouTube. I think the All form content is
- 40:48one of the best ways to Market that to people that aren't
- 40:51following you there are already invested in, you know, like a 10
- 40:55minute video. And yeah, as you will see in
- 40:58with as you said, with the Instagram reels and something
- 41:00that you can get some incredible results with it.
- 41:03Absolutely. Yeah.
- 41:04No I think if anything it's best to do both.
- 41:08So, like spend a lot of time doing your long form content,
- 41:13put all the effort in, make sure it's premium, blah, blah, blah.
- 41:15And then With the short stuff. You don't even have to put a lot
- 41:18of effort into it as long as you have a phone.
- 41:20That's it. That's all you need.
- 41:22I've got phoner some of the Hedgehog costume.
- 41:24I think I did you so much. I guess, I guarantee, it'll bang
- 41:27100%. I'm asked to give it a go.
- 41:29I have been thinking about The Tick-Tock thing I go to,
- 41:31there'll be loads of people already doing as well.
- 41:33You'll be blown away. The bill that would be a good
- 41:35way to expand your audience and also meet other people as well.
- 41:40Yeah, yeah. So that's valid just keep an eye
- 41:43out. The Calamity had to take talk
- 41:44will probably appear. So Do it.
- 41:47Do it shorts channel? Do I don't know.
- 41:50Calamity Hatcher shorts or something, and just set up for
- 41:53experimentation purposes. I guarantee ya Aunty.
- 41:56Okay, but yeah, let's talk about monetization because you
- 42:01recently got that as well, as we know, like when you're sort of
- 42:05trying to get to the Thousand subscribers, Mark, that doesn't
- 42:07mean that the journey is over. Like, you're still having to get
- 42:10that watch time. So when that happened,
- 42:13obviously, your Bandit, you kept Pushing the live streams and it
- 42:17worked for you. So, what's the did?
- 42:21Like I'm not going to ask you how much you get, but like, how
- 42:23does it work? Do you do get anything from it?
- 42:26Is it worth your time? Or is it just laugh about this
- 42:28point? But hey, at least you did it.
- 42:31It's laughable at this point badly so did it, I've gotta be
- 42:34honest with you. A thousand views seems to get me
- 42:39about a dollar the my and also you have to 60 pounds before uh
- 42:48freshman year as a threshold there always.
- 42:51And I'm quite well, I'm very fortunate in the sense that a
- 42:57lot of people have sent in super, super low, I'll get my
- 43:00wire and it in super chats. Yeah, I was going to ask about
- 43:03Ashley, for instance, I have one guy that I'm going to shout out
- 43:06on Channel right now. Could I see Kai who donated $100
- 43:10in all Snapchats? I still haven't hit the
- 43:14threshold because does Google take half of that.
- 43:20White, hold on. Is it with the supercharger they
- 43:21take off? Yeah, it's like obviously child.
- 43:25Wow, yeah, so that's still better than twitch.
- 43:28You take 90 P, you know, I mean, but it's still like you.
- 43:33You don't eat me. Kind of makes me sad in a way
- 43:36that someone was like someone came onto Schumer's.
- 43:37I've got $100 that I want to donate to you, but I'm going to
- 43:40do it in bits and they kept doing it.
- 43:41And B was, I See Kai and it was like that's that's so lovely,
- 43:46but why someone wanted to do that?
- 43:48And then you think, unfortunately, that corporation
- 43:51that I've already got too much money and they actually too much
- 43:54information. Patient has taken half of that.
- 43:57S thing to content creators right now to do is to focus on
- 44:00sponsors and pushing things like patreon.
- 44:03Yes, that's the way forward patrons one.
- 44:06I've been looking at for a long time, you need to set one up,
- 44:08you hundred percent need to set one up for a couple.
- 44:10I need to figure out what the content would be and I think
- 44:13it's probably going to be more long form movie commentaries and
- 44:17that kind of thing and TV show commentaries.
- 44:19If I do it, what it can also be a ride energy, it can be guided
- 44:22by your audience like one thing that you've got.
- 44:25That's, that's really good. As you've got an audience that
- 44:26reacts, because whenever I ask my audience, everyone ignores me
- 44:31when, When You Reach Out, people respond, right?
- 44:34So that's perfect. That's already half the battle.
- 44:37So with their, you can ask them, okay?
- 44:39What do you want to see if I set up a patreon, what do you want
- 44:41to see, what kind of exclusive content?
- 44:43That's a real key word to use as well.
- 44:45Exclusive, exclusive patreon, because that way you can sort of
- 44:49diversify, you know. So like people still get free
- 44:52content from you but if they want that sort of Higher tier,
- 44:55you know, that exclusive stuff or maybe about more personalized
- 44:58stuff, like a shout out or I don't know like one-on-one
- 45:01something like that, then they got paid to do that.
- 45:04And that's the difference, really?
- 45:06Yeah. 100%. And there's also the issue of
- 45:08join feature, which is basically the same.
- 45:12Oh yeah. And people have actually asked
- 45:16about that whether I was going to do a membership thing on the
- 45:18channel. Can you put it out to them?
- 45:21Yeah, I can do it when she wants your monetize.
- 45:22Your able to do that? Is it the same with the Merchant
- 45:25things where you have to be monetized.
- 45:26Yeah, yeah. So that literally the second you
- 45:28get that monetized status that will comes into effect on your
- 45:33account and you can Muck around with it.
- 45:35Wow. But, you know, I put out to
- 45:37them, what kind of stuff do you want to see?
- 45:38And it's it's still difficult because people want different
- 45:43things, you know, and stumper. What's a?
- 45:46My one thing, another person, my one another, it's a tricky.
- 45:50One to figure out and I still think with my channel I'm You'll
- 45:55find in my feet to this day. I'm still not 100% there, like I
- 45:59can go wrong, I love covering Sonic the Hedgehog.
- 46:01I love playing Smash Bros, but you know, a my Sonic News
- 46:06Channel, a my Sonic video essay Channel and my Sonic, let's play
- 46:11Channel. There's so many different forms
- 46:13and I keep going into all these different things, like some of
- 46:16my News videos, do very well, my streams Sonic games are getting
- 46:20more and more popular. Some of my video essays.
- 46:25Really do well, like I've got one that's almost 20,000 views
- 46:28and other ones who was 15,000 views.
- 46:31But with those, obviously that takes a lot more time to put
- 46:34together a full video, I say than it does smell like, right
- 46:36guys. This is the news that we've had.
- 46:38Today, let's go, which could also bring in its beauty.
- 46:41Its it's quite difficult, trying to find enough footing, and I
- 46:44think when you're looking at a payment model behind it, it's
- 46:48even more difficult to find that footing.
- 46:50You've really got to know what you want to do and I want to
- 46:55keep I love creating content. I really do.
- 46:58It's is one of those things I never thought I would ever get
- 47:02around to doing, but always wanted to do.
- 47:03And now I do it, it's one of my favorite things.
- 47:06I often find struggle in motivation to actually record,
- 47:10but when it comes to the editing process, I Lose Myself hours and
- 47:15hours on it. And I'm not even saying my
- 47:16editing is particularly good because it's, it's, it's still,
- 47:20I'm still learning every day with my editing, but that whole
- 47:23process is just Just amazing to me and I feel like if it's a
- 47:28payment method content system. Hmm, it's got to be something
- 47:33that goes above and beyond what I've done so far.
- 47:36I agree. It's got to beat the qualities,
- 47:38got to be next level. People are paying for this, you
- 47:41know, there is that, of course, your quality needs to be decent
- 47:44anyway, but there is also a sort of thing of like, well, you
- 47:46didn't pay for it. So, you know, this is the, this
- 47:50is the quality of the channel, generally, if you liked it, like
- 47:54And subscribe. And what's the big difference?
- 47:55But I just feel like I've really got to step things up on a
- 47:59monetization thing. There's a lot of editing
- 48:01techniques that I want to explore more, and I'm using
- 48:06various different YouTubers and Platforms in order to grow those
- 48:11skills. But I think it's just not
- 48:14something I want to rush into. Mmm, that is the only thing.
- 48:17I don't want to rush into it. Do it half-assed and take
- 48:22people's money for that. I want it to be something that I
- 48:24can. Pletely commit to, and make
- 48:27some, some of the best content that I've ever created.
- 48:30To be completely honest with you, I don't want to rip people
- 48:33off, you know, having us for. Yeah.
- 48:36II agree with you. I mean the same similar bow of
- 48:39see, I'm not at your level yet, but I do kind of like nah, dude,
- 48:43it's a long journey. It's a long journey, dude.
- 48:46All it takes is one video with the right keywords.
- 48:51All it takes the algorithm picks up Suddenly bang like you have
- 48:57to look at my mind was a mine took two years, nearly three
- 49:02years to get to 500 subscribers. Hmm.
- 49:06And then covid happens. Okay, and I was very smart about
- 49:11how I did things. I was on Instagram searching
- 49:16hashtag, Sonic, the Hedgehog, or sonic, okay, going through Ooh
- 49:20finding everyone that was liking these popular Sonic posts
- 49:24following them and then they followed me back I would send
- 49:28them a message and I was saying look I'm a Sonic content
- 49:30creator, we're in lockdown, I've got a small Channel.
- 49:34I need to find out what kind of content that people want to see
- 49:37from the Sonic Community. Would you mind having a look at
- 49:39this? Let me know what you think.
- 49:41Let me know if you enjoyed it, if there's anything else I can
- 49:43do. I picked up 200 Subs in like two
- 49:45days. Wow, it was insane.
- 49:49And it's It really just reaching out to people like that.
- 49:53And I'll be honest, you know, it was copy and paste system for
- 49:58these messages. Well, the best systems are
- 50:00exactly, but then I would before I was messaging, someone I would
- 50:04look through their profile because a lot of my stomach are
- 50:07pages and stuff like that. And a black dude, by the way,
- 50:10love this particular piece like that, you've done that each like
- 50:13genuinely I really enjoy this, still the same copy and pasted
- 50:17message with your video link and all that.
- 50:20But You personalize it to each person cater.
- 50:22It takes a bit longer probably takes about two hours longer
- 50:24than it normally would because you this, it did.
- 50:27When I was doing this with, this was like eight hours a day doing
- 50:30this year was insane. Wow.
- 50:32But it, but adding that Personal Touch to it, really, you know,
- 50:35brings people in, I've I've actually started doing a similar
- 50:38thing with Instagram, like, when people follow me and I know it's
- 50:42because I know they're going to stick around.
- 50:44They're not just trying to grow their follower can and they've
- 50:47like actively liked my stuff, and they've engaged with me.
- 50:50I like them back. I start kind of talking to them
- 50:52and I've even started inviting certain people.
- 50:55Like, there's, there's regulars. I have shouts.
- 50:58Oh, Min, seok a, you know, you guys are awesome.
- 51:01I've started doing things like pushing them towards the
- 51:03Discord, pushing them, towards things that I do trying to
- 51:06trying to build that Community there.
- 51:08But like you said, you really got to kind of interact with
- 51:10people as much as you can and live streams are obviously a
- 51:14very good way of doing that. But yeah, it's a process.
- 51:18I guess it takes a long time but that's the thing.
- 51:20A lot of people underestimate about.
- 51:21So, sorry, being content creator that you've got to do a lot of
- 51:25different things. You got to do, like editing
- 51:27Graphics. That's something I've waited for
- 51:29ages. Of actually just started to
- 51:31properly, do fun nails now, where I didn't bother before,
- 51:33but now I actually put some effort into a, I mean, I'm not a
- 51:37great designer, I never will be but I don't know.
- 51:41I mean, I've been here. I've got some friends that are
- 51:44incredible, graphic designers, and Shout crew cartoons and a
- 51:48few other people. They make some really nice
- 51:51stuff. And then I've been finding my
- 51:54footing with thumbnails for a while now because they tricky,
- 52:00excuse me, they're tricky. They're not easy to to get
- 52:04right. Considering a thumbnail is the
- 52:07window to your channel? Is it was someone put it that
- 52:10way? And I quite like the expression.
- 52:13It's something you've gotta get, right?
- 52:15But what are the parameters for, right?
- 52:18With the thumbnail and Everything is just trial and
- 52:21error trial and error, you know, just grabbing people's
- 52:24attention, really, isn't it? I mean, like I decided to be
- 52:27playful with one. I did the other day and I'm not
- 52:30sure if it's the thumbnail or the fact that I posted it in a
- 52:34specific Reddit that did a job. But basically I posted a video
- 52:39about like a holiday experience and Bulgaria, right?
- 52:44And it was to do a ping pong so that the picture is like a guy
- 52:49playing ping-pong. His head is the Bulgarian flag
- 52:52and they're like, there's the text at the bottom, right?
- 52:54And then there's a picture of me like, doing some stupid things.
- 52:56Like yeah. Nice.
- 52:59You got get. Go get that in and and I'm going
- 53:01back on what I said because I've said this in the past.
- 53:03So this makes me a hypocrite. But I'm holding my hands up and
- 53:05saying, hey, sorry. I know, I'm just trying
- 53:08everything because I used to be that guy that Bella no moving to
- 53:10show the, no not going to do that and now I just go fuck it.
- 53:14I try everything. If it doesn't work, I'll stop if
- 53:17it works. I'll keep doing it and that's
- 53:19how I do it these days. And, you know it that that video
- 53:23is done really well compared to what I normally do and I think
- 53:27it comes down to being a bit strategic with social media as
- 53:29well. It's subreddits, they're hitting
- 53:32this. A lot of the time when you try
- 53:33to post in subreddits, you just get banned because people are
- 53:36good. Well, you promoting yourself, we
- 53:39don't like that and it's like cases.
- 53:41You know, you need, you need a Community member to go and post
- 53:46your videos. I have someone that does that
- 53:48for me. No, no, they were Into Summit
- 53:51Credit. They had know what I'm talking
- 53:55about is more to do with like, you know, sometimes you join a
- 53:58subreddit and like they don't like any kind of OC stuff.
- 54:01It has to be specifically. Oh yeah, you know, like so
- 54:05forth. Here's a good example, right?
- 54:07I posted one time in the Pokemon subreddit a couple of clips of
- 54:11me playing like, you know, first gen, right?
- 54:14It's been fun. Funny clips and like such a
- 54:18toxic Community just Just loads people hating on me, and I was
- 54:22like, fine, screw you guys, and I just delete that one person
- 54:25even said, like something like, it was something on the lines of
- 54:29like, why are you even here or? Why would we watch this?
- 54:32And it's like, because it's about Pokemon.
- 54:34And this is a poke, a subreddit like why do you guys have to be?
- 54:38So that's why I don't really care anymore.
- 54:41Like a lot of the time. Like I just try stuff out here
- 54:43and there but a lot of the time I just focus on the SEO stuff,
- 54:47you know the keywords the yeah. Ash tags the thumbnails.
- 54:50That stuff because I don't know. Like, I feel like a lot of the
- 54:53time there's this and I've spoken about this before, but
- 54:58when you're starting out, no one cares about you, like, no one
- 55:02cares. Like, you know, some people, if
- 55:06you tell them, I've got like a thousand subscribers, they
- 55:08belong. That's pretty cool.
- 55:09You know, most of the time when I tell people, I got like, 500,
- 55:12they're like, oh okay. Which means?
- 55:14Oh, there's no point carrying because he's just some
- 55:17small-time guy, right? And That always kind of bugs me
- 55:21because it's like, you know, it's not quantity.
- 55:23Its quality that's important. Yeah.
- 55:25And if I've already got 500 subscribers I mean that should
- 55:30tell you that I'm doing something, right?
- 55:33Yeah, 100%. It's just not kind of got to the
- 55:36point and like it's a gamble you know.
- 55:38It's like you said it takes a long time and you know not
- 55:42everyone makes it like I found a guy the other day.
- 55:44She had to do lie. All day.
- 55:46I'm trying to get him on my podcast.
- 55:47Actually face duck. Okay, he's ducking me.
- 55:50Yo, bro, pick up the phone. He spoke to me, but he's taking
- 55:55a break from from from all this, so fair, but I don't blame him
- 55:58for that dude. He's got less subscribers than
- 56:01me. He's got like 300 or something,
- 56:03but he's been doing YouTube for like six years, right?
- 56:06Okay. Excellent.
- 56:07He makes fantastic content and I discovered him through like a
- 56:12big YouTuber that I was watching.
- 56:14So I got recommended his video and as I do this, what is this?
- 56:16Guy is awesome and I can tell That he's just deflated by
- 56:21YouTube and he's just kind of like sick of and it's like, he's
- 56:25just accepted that it's never going to go anywhere.
- 56:27And I don't ever want to get to that point.
- 56:30Like, I'm trying to kind of look at it.
- 56:33Like, like my eyes are Beyond YouTube as well.
- 56:36I'm looking at just content in general like, yeah, creating a
- 56:39brand, right? But I, my view, my goal now is
- 56:44not to become rich and famous that.
- 56:46I want that like everyone else, but My biggest goal is to earn a
- 56:51living from this. If I get to do this as my job
- 56:54and I can live on it, I'll be happy, you know.
- 56:57Yeah, I'm with you on that. I mean he, I love my job as it
- 57:00is so I think the idea would be to well this this sounds really
- 57:06bad but I guess to earn a living wage from YouTube and have my
- 57:10full time job so that I could I mean because then you're earning
- 57:15your like you're earning good money, then but wouldn't you
- 57:17want to quit when you want to quit?
- 57:19You're like quit your main job and just you YouTube full time.
- 57:22I love it so much. I love what I do for a living.
- 57:26So, what do you do? I'm a computer engineer.
- 57:30So I build PCS for the VFX in gaming industry.
- 57:35That's also. And so I, you know, I get to go
- 57:40on site to these different companies and work on things
- 57:43from time to time. And you know, I'm often building
- 57:46masses of machines. They're going to companies that
- 57:48I know are working on projects that I love and I'm going to
- 57:52watch in the future. So there's a real job.
- 57:54As function for me in that sense, the other thing, I've
- 57:57also found it and it's something that I really found during
- 58:00lockdown. If you've got nothing to do, it
- 58:04can be quite hard to motivate yourself.
- 58:07Like I would get up in the morning and be like, right?
- 58:10I'm going to make this video, this video this video today, and
- 58:13I'd only get around to doing maybe one because it was just, I
- 58:19find it difficult. If I haven't already got that,
- 58:21like routine in place, I find that my Motivation, really slips
- 58:26to like nothingness. I'm so I like having that
- 58:29routine of work and then being like, right?
- 58:31So today you need to go home and you need to record this video
- 58:34and then you've got half an hour to go and eat something, and
- 58:36then you got get on stream. And then tomorrow evening,
- 58:39you've already at this, to get out on Wednesday and things like
- 58:41that. Like, I kind of like that, that
- 58:43routine that rush. I'm the opposite, man.
- 58:46I hate routine routine. My DVD, movies, me.
- 58:50And I've tried believe me. Like I'm very organized as a
- 58:52person, like, I If I was just doing my regular marketing stuff
- 58:57I would organize myself and my time, but I got YouTube.
- 59:00Like if I start doing that like I'm going to make this YouTube
- 59:03video and then this and it's going to be these days.
- 59:05Like I get so demotivated it's one of the reasons why.
- 59:09Okay, with the podcast, you'll notice that I just release it
- 59:13randomly. I don't have a set day.
- 59:15You know, I try to do it as much as I can every week, but like
- 59:19it's not a guarantee, and there's two reasons for that.
- 59:22The biggest reason is I don't want the Pressure of like, I
- 59:26say, I don't release an episode for a while and they're being
- 59:28this like expectation of like, oh well, it's always on wonders.
- 59:31Why is it not here? I hate that.
- 59:34Like, it will be out when it's out because it will have my full
- 59:37energy and attention to it. And I can't always guarantee. to
- 59:43be honest, the I'll have the energy and time to do something
- 59:47like For example, Let There are some days where I just don't
- 59:51create anything at all. Now I just take a day off, take
- 59:54a couple of days off and I don't even really think about it a
- 59:57lot. I'm just kind of like, you know
- 59:58what, I just need to rest. I just need to not do this
- 1:00:04because I just you know, and sometimes it's a mental health
- 1:00:06thing sometimes. I'm just like a bit kind of down
- 1:00:11in the dumps and I think like War.
- 1:00:12The last thing I want to do is comment.
- 1:00:13Like I remember one time fairly recently, I came on a stream and
- 1:00:17I felt like crap and I was there Half an hour and then I just
- 1:00:20ended it and deleted it and someone reach out to me a friend
- 1:00:22of mine, so thanks Sokka and I shouldn't have done it.
- 1:00:27The had no place I shouldn't have been on that stream at all
- 1:00:30and yeah that's how it should always be.
- 1:00:33You know, you got to show up with your full energy and you
- 1:00:39know if you can't do that like it's okay.
- 1:00:41Like just take a break just? Yeah rest it's happened to me
- 1:00:46like I've done streams through a site.
- 1:00:48Oh, I said I was going to rain today, not really feeling up to
- 1:00:52it and it shows it definitely shows in what you do.
- 1:00:55You know, you're sitting on stream.
- 1:00:57You're not as hyped as you normally.
- 1:00:59Are not as motivated. It, I think the audience can
- 1:01:04definitely pick up on it. Yeah, 100 percent.
- 1:01:07So it's something that they're particularly.
- 1:01:11When you hit that monetized barrier, there is this legit
- 1:01:16pressure of putting stuff out. And teeming with life at the
- 1:01:21same time and how they these two things fight each other and they
- 1:01:25can really go at each other. Like I put myself in some
- 1:01:28situations where it's like, I need to get this out today.
- 1:01:32It's Wednesday. I need to get my video out and
- 1:01:35it's like, life is meaning that? That's not the best option for
- 1:01:40you right now. You need to chill.
- 1:01:41Yeah, but there's a guilt that almost comes with, not then
- 1:01:45pushing forward and creating the content and that kind of thing.
- 1:01:48Like there is a whole range of mental health issues.
- 1:01:52I think that come with being a YouTuber or a content creator of
- 1:01:55any kind. I legitimately think there are
- 1:01:58like the dopamine Rush from checking YouTube studio.
- 1:02:03All dopamine, full. Yeah.
- 1:02:07From checking YouTube Studio because it's one of the first
- 1:02:09things I do every day. Yeah, so he's checking my phone,
- 1:02:12YouTube studio. If those numbers aren't going
- 1:02:14the way I want to, that's a - that's a load straight away.
- 1:02:18Stay tuned. Well, thank Ron it.
- 1:02:20There's a little Spike of Serotonin.
- 1:02:22That's always nice. But generally as the life of
- 1:02:26smaller content creators, it's not going to be that little
- 1:02:30serotonin Rush every time nine times out of ten.
- 1:02:33It is like no one's really. What's this one?
- 1:02:35This hasn't done as well as I thought.
- 1:02:37Like there's a whole range of issues that come with it.
- 1:02:40I feel, but don't you think about totally agree?
- 1:02:43It's I haven't still haven't really figured out how to deal
- 1:02:47with that because I mean I try not to look at the stats as many
- 1:02:52as much anymore. This is hard, you know, it's
- 1:02:57hard because and it's not even like I'm sitting there kind of
- 1:03:01thinking my God I really hope this does worry.
- 1:03:03Hope this bangs like I have realistic expectations about how
- 1:03:06things will do, like I aim to just kind of pass my average
- 1:03:10that's kind of. Yeah.
- 1:03:11You know, my house. Yeah.
- 1:03:13And to be honest like my it's like I said at the beginning, my
- 1:03:17Approach has changed now. Like I don't focus on the
- 1:03:19numbers. I don't focus on haters or any
- 1:03:22of that. I just kind of focus on like
- 1:03:24what the Community is saying, I want the people saying, like
- 1:03:27when, when they come in the live streams, you know, and they
- 1:03:30having a good time, they enjoying it.
- 1:03:33Is there more people joining, you know?
- 1:03:35That's, that's what I focus on. And there's been a lot of
- 1:03:39positivity, especially in the last couple of months.
- 1:03:41And I think it comes down to, like, consistency and also kind
- 1:03:47of just Just not caring if something that does badly
- 1:03:51because it happens, you know, happens to me all the time.
- 1:03:54And the way I look at it is that one day, all of this content is
- 1:03:57going to bang, like you said like they'll be that one video.
- 1:04:01That would be the Gateway, or whatever, or just get discovered
- 1:04:05randomly. And then all of this content
- 1:04:08will finally do what it deserves to do.
- 1:04:11Because one thing I always focus on doing is trying to create
- 1:04:14Evergreen content. So that's one of the reasons why
- 1:04:17I don't do like much topical stuff because it quickly
- 1:04:22especially in this day and age, it quickly becomes old news and
- 1:04:25then it's just dead content on your channel.
- 1:04:27That is not really interesting. Like for example, if you're
- 1:04:31talking about like you're doing like a speculation video, right?
- 1:04:37That old that will ban maybe for like a week or two and then the
- 1:04:40thing comes out and then then it then what they just generally
- 1:04:45mean. Like the things happened, it's
- 1:04:47probably not what you guessed, it would And then what?
- 1:04:50What happens, like, no one's ever going to watch that again.
- 1:04:53Yeah, I mean, I do a video every year that's called leak Sonic
- 1:04:57games for that year and it's like the big leaks.
- 1:05:00And one of them has got almost 20,000 views, but that's from
- 1:05:042019. And that will never reach the
- 1:05:0820,000 views because it's two years ago.
- 1:05:12No, one like, no one cares about that.
- 1:05:14Now, we're in 2021, they want to know what Sonic games are going
- 1:05:16to get leaked for this year. Exactly.
- 1:05:18Is it? Actually all the fucking
- 1:05:19Community, a talkin about. And I think you've got the right
- 1:05:22approach there. Just just do one distill one
- 1:05:24off. You know why, why do regular?
- 1:05:26Like, if fascinates me, when I see these people who spend all
- 1:05:30their time and a lot I'm not hating, okay?
- 1:05:32If you have a channel where you're basically doing news
- 1:05:35every day, you're doing all that fair play to you.
- 1:05:39I just don't, I wouldn't have the energy to do that because
- 1:05:42they're just feel like it's way too demanding and yeah people
- 1:05:47are Philip DeFranco. Team saw all those people like,
- 1:05:51it takes a lot to get that content out.
- 1:05:53Must be Heather, stress to get that out as well.
- 1:05:55To be involved in these situations that are going on a
- 1:05:58lot of the time. But then once that videos,
- 1:06:01you've maybe got a week on that video of it being relevant.
- 1:06:05If you are a lone, most lucky you can be a whole week.
- 1:06:09Maybe it would just be 24 hours that video being random
- 1:06:12sometimes that's not it could be right?
- 1:06:14I love couple of hours that video being relevant, right?
- 1:06:16Let's move things forward. I want to talk about By Sonic
- 1:06:19the Hedgehog 30th Anniversary. I mean, what is there to talk
- 1:06:24about? Let's be real.
- 1:06:29So, can you give us something? Do they still haven't even
- 1:06:32though you know, when is he supposed to drink relation?
- 1:06:36What specific day or they June 6th.
- 1:06:39I believe is the actual birthday.
- 1:06:43So, say guards did that's music to my ears.
- 1:06:49Hopefully we're going to get something then bought or an
- 1:06:52announcement. Then I assume we're going to get
- 1:06:54some sort of live stream for his birthday.
- 1:06:56We're going to announce a few bits, but how disappointed would
- 1:06:59you be if it was literally just they just uploaded a clip and it
- 1:07:01was just daddy. Did he end up making a very
- 1:07:09angry? What can I do?
- 1:07:12You know. It's a good point, though.
- 1:07:13What perk, what could I possibly do for a 30th Anniversary?
- 1:07:16Such a big thing like Like I think Sonic Adventure 1 and 2
- 1:07:21remakes, it's the most requested game in the franchise, apart
- 1:07:27from Sonic Adventure 3, which I just, I don't see it.
- 1:07:31But remakes, considering you know how well people like Crash
- 1:07:35Bandicoot Spyro have all cashed in on this Nostalgia.
- 1:07:38I think it's a no-brainer at this point.
- 1:07:43We've got the head of Sonic Team saying that he's wanted to do
- 1:07:46this for some time. It just makes sense you know I'm
- 1:07:52gonna ask you what but do you have an idea of what you're
- 1:07:55going to do? Yeah, for the anniversary and we
- 1:07:59thought about it. Yep.
- 1:08:00The there is a very special video a very special video
- 1:08:04that's going to be coming out. I embezzled plug this here
- 1:08:08because you're gonna judge you in the last son.
- 1:08:10You don't have to say what it is.
- 1:08:12I won't give the full outline, but like last year, I will be
- 1:08:16doing a montage section. Where people sending their video
- 1:08:20happy birthdays. Yeah, I want to do bigger and
- 1:08:23better than last year. Last year, we had about 30
- 1:08:26entries. I don't want to try and get
- 1:08:28about 100 this year. I want to make this massive
- 1:08:33compilation, and if I can get it long enough, you'll get to the
- 1:08:36point where I don't tack it onto the end of one video.
- 1:08:39There will be two separate uploads on Sonic's birthday, one
- 1:08:42with that montage and one with the saw the video, it's good.
- 1:08:45I am currently working on, all I can say for the main video The I
- 1:08:49will be taking to the Streets of London for this.
- 1:08:53I knew it, I knew it so. Yeah I'm going to be up in the
- 1:08:59capital filming something very special so look forward to that.
- 1:09:06There should be quite a good comedic element to.
- 1:09:08I bet you're going to, you're going to go to Leicester Square.
- 1:09:12I am going to go to Leicester Square funnily enough.
- 1:09:14Of course, he's our guide. So that's what everyone goes.
- 1:09:19Exactly. I think you know don't you you
- 1:09:22know what I'm gonna do? I have a rough idea, I'll say
- 1:09:27off camera. What?
- 1:09:28I recommend? Yeah.
- 1:09:29Yeah. Don't say okay.
- 1:09:30Because it's going to be the best surprise when people see
- 1:09:32that or or horrifying surprise depending on your your views
- 1:09:37that is. So now I'm intrigued now I'm
- 1:09:39intrigued. Okay.
- 1:09:41Okay let's move on this. Yeah, there's so many things I
- 1:09:48could Ask you. Okay, let's just talk real
- 1:09:49quick. About 20, 21 your goals and
- 1:09:52stuff. Yeah.
- 1:09:53Like I actually did something differently this year.
- 1:09:56I decided to set myself goals at the beginning.
- 1:09:59Yeah. Same.
- 1:09:59Just as a kind of, hey, here's what I'm trying to do.
- 1:10:03And the, the goal is right now is for the main Channel 1000
- 1:10:07subscribers. I have other goals, but these
- 1:10:11are just my like YouTube goes, right?
- 1:10:13Yeah. Second channel was to get to 100
- 1:10:16which I've already done. And for the third channel is to
- 1:10:19get to 50. And I figure these are
- 1:10:22conservative, these are doable. And then, you know, Farrah, I
- 1:10:27think that. But what about yours?
- 1:10:29What yours for the year Ice at 2500 Subs.
- 1:10:36It may be overly. I don't know, the right, right
- 1:10:42term for this ambitious. Ambitious, yes, sorry, can find
- 1:10:45it there. It may be overly ambitious, but
- 1:10:50I would rather set myself, something that's a bit too
- 1:10:53ambitious. Because in my head, I haven't
- 1:10:57decided I'm going to make it to that point.
- 1:11:01So I won't get the disappointment if I don't be
- 1:11:04gives me something to keep pushing towards in that regard.
- 1:11:07I think the fact that you have set this goal in a year where
- 1:11:13there's a 30th Anniversary for Sonic the Hedgehog and you're
- 1:11:16doing two videos to capitalize on it, I think you're giving
- 1:11:19yourself a very good shot. I think it's I think it's
- 1:11:22possible. I don't actually think it's that
- 1:11:23outlandish. However, I do think that you're
- 1:11:28going to have to do more than I think diversifying doing some of
- 1:11:30the short stuff. That we spoke about these, I
- 1:11:33think you branching out making maybe even new channels.
- 1:11:37That like there's going to be a big change up on your channel
- 1:11:40and your just your closest and I think that's how you'll get
- 1:11:43there. Yeah.
- 1:11:45Yeah, I agree with that 100%. I suppose, my other goal is I
- 1:11:49want to get 100,000 views this year.
- 1:11:51I ended up getting like 70,000 or something like that last
- 1:11:57year, maybe more than that. So not too far off.
- 1:12:00I just want to get that kind of clean.
- 1:12:02Even hundred thousand. What's your most viewed video?
- 1:12:05The moment, it's still that. Leaked Sonic games. 2019 10.
- 1:12:10Well on, nineteen thousand bees. Does it ever pick up use?
- 1:12:13Still. Not really no.
- 1:12:16Because it's like it's painfully close.
- 1:12:19It's like liver. Dude.
- 1:12:20You ever just randomly get like someone viewing it like just not
- 1:12:24really. I do have videos that do that.
- 1:12:26So, yeah, last year. Lost some high-power video of
- 1:12:30why Shadow, the Hedgehog is the most important character in the
- 1:12:33Sonic franchise. And I see that's a even that's
- 1:12:35not even now that's still picking up, that's overdoing
- 1:12:39comments all the time. Yeah, so yeah, it's weird.
- 1:12:42But that know generally not I do find that different kind of
- 1:12:46Trends in things pick things up on older videos which is kind of
- 1:12:51strange like this. And by last year, we had Sonic
- 1:12:56week than a, why we called it. That's your fucking ridiculous.
- 1:12:59Nothing happened, doesn't know news or anything, but then I did
- 1:13:03a video on it. And then this year, when there
- 1:13:05was a leak that came out, what and again, leak for a game
- 1:13:10that's suddenly started to pick up loads of views, because I
- 1:13:14don't know how that Association came there somehow.
- 1:13:18So I find it very strange. I do find it very strange, but
- 1:13:21as we were saying, previously, I think with the leak Sonic games,
- 1:13:232019, It has a long, long activity of 2019 or until a game
- 1:13:30is announced and you've been proven wrong.
- 1:13:33Do I mean, but it's different concepts, different things, you
- 1:13:37know, pulls some views at times you don't expect.
- 1:13:39So potentially there is the chance of hitting 100,000
- 1:13:43100,000. Sorry.
- 1:13:46Yeah, they're a hundred thousand.
- 1:13:47I think there is a child's actually.
- 1:13:48Think this is not Sedona. See a rather positive this year.
- 1:13:52We're going, we're going to we're going to smash it this
- 1:13:54year. I'm looking forward to it.
- 1:13:57What is the biggest life lesson you've learned so far?
- 1:14:10He's given a real good thought there it's good.
- 1:14:14I don't know why I approached it like a golf commentator and he's
- 1:14:16going up to the hole and I like the gulf.
- 1:14:20It's fun. Do you?
- 1:14:22I don't the gentleman's sport. You say so, oh God, I'm dying.
- 1:14:31I guess it would be like, I just coughing I guess it would be I
- 1:14:40thought it know, just focus on what makes you happy.
- 1:14:44They don't if you want to get into this game, don't push
- 1:14:49yourself to make content that you're half Arsenal.
- 1:14:52You're not particularly invested in just is as long as you do.
- 1:14:56What makes you happy in that regard, your personality is
- 1:14:58going to shine through, and it's going to be what people want to
- 1:15:01see. And that's the biggest thing.
- 1:15:02I've learned some movement as we draw things to a close for
- 1:15:06today, mr. Jack her Chum, The Calamity
- 1:15:09Hatcher, do you have any upcoming projects or final
- 1:15:13thoughts that you'd like to share with us?
- 1:15:15Well, first, I have mentioned this last time I was here, match
- 1:15:20is re dropping for my birthday. Be launching fairly soon as we
- 1:15:28are now in March. And the campaign is normally for
- 1:15:3030 days so that will be dropping.
- 1:15:33I will be getting you one sent out from it.
- 1:15:35So send me your address, let me know.
- 1:15:39The collaboration, the calamities are going to be
- 1:15:41cheaper than they were last time.
- 1:15:43That's such a great name. By the way, I'm just very glad
- 1:15:48I'm glad you like it. Silly ever calamities will be a
- 1:15:52bit cheaper than last time and there will be a new piece of
- 1:15:55merch. They specifically like because
- 1:15:59of my birthday coming up is going to be a very Swift piece
- 1:16:01of much. I say that cryptically.
- 1:16:04I have not decided what it is yet.
- 1:16:06I just have a design but I don't know whether Going to be like a
- 1:16:08t-shirt over there. I'd like to put it on a hat or
- 1:16:11something like that or a hoodie but yeah I'm basic and be taking
- 1:16:16feedback from the community on that.
- 1:16:17So give feedback to let me know what kind of match you want but
- 1:16:21that will be coming soon. And yeah I mean considering how
- 1:16:26time has been flying resale might as well just yet but out
- 1:16:29there Sonic's 30th Anniversary I believe it's June 6th.
- 1:16:33There will be some big content coming from this channel on that
- 1:16:35day. At the moment there is a Stream
- 1:16:38planned of Sonic 1 where we're going to finish all of some day,
- 1:16:42because it would have been 30 years since that original game.
- 1:16:44Oh, Russ, you're going to do two videos plus a live stream, plus
- 1:16:47a live stream down intentionally another live stream.
- 1:16:50If Sega are doing a live stream on that day to announce the new
- 1:16:53in-game, I'll be doing a reaction stream to the back as
- 1:16:55well. Be a busy old day.
- 1:16:59So, if you like some of the Hedgehog, you know today, hello
