- 1:10start with own om who've been good friends with us and then been helping us
- 1:15make these shows occur. They're presenting today. So let me just share some
- 1:21of our partners and sponsors. Manhattan Boro President Mark Levine, who you'll meet
- 1:26later at one o'clock. He'll be speaking. He's a real environmentalist, so
- 1:32that's a good thing. Let's disrupt Digital has been partnering with our Good News
- 1:38corporation, Times Square Alliance. You just met him. New York City Parks
- 1:42and Recreation everybody. I want you to know this land right here, Father
- 1:48Duffy Square. There's Father Duffy up there, and George M. Cohen is
- 1:52behind us here statues. This is a city park. And so let's do
- 1:57a shout out for Kathy Hokeel and'll go and everybody on doing their sustainability.
- 2:04So the big word today is sustainability. The big words today is SDG,
- 2:09the sustainable development goals. So I'd like to give one shout out right now
- 2:15once again to the Borough President Mark Levine. Mark has been kind enough.
- 2:21He's a sustainable president of the Borough of Manhattan, and you're going to hear
- 2:25some of the projects from bike lanes to you know, this is an island,
- 2:30so there's a water concern and indoor and outdoor add and congestion and so
- 2:35on. We're going to learn more about that today. So thank you.
- 2:38Borrow President Mark Levine. I've been asked, and I'm part of the faith
- 2:42based community here under Mayor Adams and Pastor Monrose, who's the executive director.
- 2:49And I'm reading a prayer, okay, and this is a prayer for all
- 2:54from the Iroquois Indian prayer. We return thanks to our mother, the Earth,
- 3:01which sustains us. We return thanks to the rivers and streams which supply
- 3:06us with water. We return thanks to all herbs we furnish medicines for the
- 3:10cure of our diseases. We return thanks to the corn and to our sisters
- 3:17the bean squash, which it gave us life. We return thanks to the
- 3:22burst bushes and trees which provide us with fruit. We return thanks to the
- 3:28wind, which moves the air has banished diseases. We return thanks to the
- 3:32Moon and the stars, which have given us the light when the sun was
- 3:38gone. We return thanks to our grandfather, he know, who has given
- 3:40to us his rain. We return thanks to the Sun that he or she
- 3:46has looked upon the earth with a benevolent eye. Lastly, we return thanks
- 3:53to the Great Spirit, in whom is emboyied all goodness, and who directs
- 3:59all things for the good of his children. It's a prayer in powerful prayers
- 4:02every day living by Mark Linden. O'Meara, let's let's let's I hope you
- 4:06had a chance to think about what I was saying, all right, Doctor
- 4:10Jane Goodall, Leonardo DiCaprio, Stevie Wonder. I think nature is my symbolism
- 4:18for peace, and now this tree stands as a as a symbol of what
- 4:24nature and us can do together the heal the world. But we've got to
- 4:30work much harder, and we must respect each other, no matter what country,
- 4:34religion, or culture. But we must respect the natural world. And
- 4:40unless we can interact better with the natural world in more harmony, world peace
- 4:45will be impossible. Because if you lose water, if the climate changes,
- 4:49if the whole world is polluted, how can there be peace between men?
- 4:55The word piece has many possible meanings, and the Messenger of Peace program has
- 5:00been vital to addressing some of the most pressing challenges of our time, head
- 5:05on poverty, disease, human suffering, issues which defy the very concept of
- 5:13peace. So today I want everyone here to commit to join the quest for
- 5:19peace. Go forward in the struggle for peace with passion and compassion. The
- 5:29future of this world is in your hands. Such sister Jenna, Yay,
- 5:35okay, oh shanky everyone, Good afternoon. I'd like to invite everyone to
- 5:43take a moment in the hustle and the busyness of this specific area. I'm
- 5:49going to invite you to take a moment to turn your attention inside of yourself,
- 5:57and if you don't mind, I'd like to invite you to close your
- 5:59eyes, just for a moment, close your eyes. Hello, thank you,
- 6:03Happy Earth Day to everybody in New York City. Give you sends hands,
- 6:09a round of applause to all of you guys, Thank you so much.
- 6:15Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, and a warm welcome to each and
- 6:19everyone of you. The gather here in a kind of Times Square, New
- 6:23York. Today is our day. Good afternoon, everyone, and thank you.
- 6:28Welcome and thank you for coming here today on this Earth Day. The
- 6:32United Nations Symphony the Orchestra. This is actually our reduced version of the orchestra.
- 6:38We have about ninety members altogether, but we couldn't squeeze them possibly all
- 6:42on this stage. We're going to perform experts from a our one of our
- 6:47major projects that we did recently with M twenty seven and Marco Matute and with
- 6:53these tamed Peruvian composer Dan Tevaldez. He could as it is the cover,
- 7:11it's the pent break in the contrast, expl gloss for this she is,
- 7:29it's all star rays sweet, She's title, and that is the President of
- 8:09the Borough of Manhattan, mister Mark Levine. Okay, Hello Times Square,
- 8:13Hello New York City, Happy Earth Day. Can you give it up again
- 8:18for the United Nations Orchestra. That was an inspiring, beautiful, brilliant performance.
- 8:26We had a lot of Broadway productions out here in the heart of Times
- 8:31Square. We had Beyonce perform up on that balcony. But I have never
- 8:35heard classical music, opera, original compositions so beautiful as the United Nations Orchestra.
- 8:43Give it up one more time for them, and to our host today,
- 8:50the godfather of this event, Reverend Paul Slatcus, Give it up for
- 8:54Paul again, not just a New Yorker, but a resident of the great
- 8:58Borough Manhattan, of the Upper West Side. You have come to the right
- 9:03place to celebrate Earth Day. Everybody. You are at the crossroads of the
- 9:07world. You are on the island of Manhattan and the greatest city in the
- 9:13world, and we are a city on the front lines of the fight to
- 9:18protect our planet on Earth Day and every day. So Paul asked that between
- 9:24the wonderful entertainment, that I say a word or two about our challenges to
- 9:31protect our planet here in New York City as we celebrate Earth Day. And
- 9:37you know the number one source of greenhouse gases here. It's not our cars,
- 9:41or our trucks or our buses, it's all these tall buildings. Seventy
- 9:46percent of the greenhouse gases in New York City are generated by our large buildings.
- 9:54So five years ago we passed the law known as the Climate Mobilization Act
- 10:00that gave New York City the most aggressive plan in the world to win the
- 10:05race to carbon neutrality by requiring all these big buildings to retro fit so that
- 10:11by twenty thirty they've reduced their greenhouse gas usage by forty percent and by twenty
- 10:18fifty that they get to net zero carbon neutrality. We're going to do that
- 10:24in New York City. This is big. You can applaud for that goal.
- 10:26No other city on Earth can match it, but they should, and
- 10:31we know that to achieve our climate goals. We got to get people out
- 10:35of cars onto the subway into mass transit. That's tough to do. We
- 10:43passed the law that's taking effect in June called congestion pricing. That's going to
- 10:48get people out of their cars and onto the subway. A little more controversial,
- 10:52but will you applaud for that too. There you go, and we
- 10:56know that the way we collect and manage our way has a significant climate impact.
- 11:03New York City is behind on composting. If you believe in composting,
- 11:07when you make some noise, yes you do. So We're gonna get composting
- 11:11in every building in Manhattan by next year. This is the goal. Because
- 11:16when organics go to landfill, they decompose in amidst methane that contributes to climate
- 11:24change. We don't want that. We want our organics, our food waste
- 11:28sent to compost. That is a win for the environment. And we are
- 11:33pushing an inspiring initiative to plant one million more trees than New York City.
- 11:39What do you say to that. Trees absorb CO two, They clean our
- 11:48air, They make a neighborhood cooler on a hot day in the midst of
- 11:54a big storm event. They can absorb water so it doesn't flood our sewers
- 12:00and our subways. If you love trees, make some noise, well,
- 12:05We've come together to push to plant one million more trees in New York City
- 12:09for our physical health, for our mental health, for our climate. We
- 12:13want to plant them on streets, We want to plant them in parks.
- 12:18We want to plant them in school yards, on public housing, campuses,
- 12:24on rooftops, everywhere in the city to green our New York to make it
- 12:28more resilient. And finally, while we fight to win the race to Carmen
- 12:33neutrality, we want to protect New York City from the climate change that's already
- 12:37here. We know seas are rising, and just ten years ago in Superstorm
- 12:43Sandy, we lost New Yorkers to this storm. So we are making our
- 12:48coastline in this city of islands more resilient. All around the southern tip of
- 12:54Manhattan, We're building up our coastline so the next time there's a major flood
- 12:58of will be safe. We're gonna do all this in Manhattan and New York
- 13:03City, and we're committing to this on Earth Day. Hi everyone, my
- 13:09name is Jason. I'm the founder of Rove honor to be here on Earth
- 13:13Day. So in twenty seventeen, I started working with the United Nations at
- 13:20the intersection of how we could use web three and blockchain technology to help solve

- 16:06all the way from Dubai to inspire us with his knowledge also known as the
- 16:11Green Shake. Well, I want to share with you some thoughts about how
- 16:15to make a better future for all of us. To start with my journey,
- 16:22I'm aufder as ease and Naimi as known as the Green Share, G
- 16:27for global, R for reathing, E for enlightenment, other E for ethics,
- 16:33and n is for network which is net worth. The other word is
- 16:41shake is for spiritual, H for humility, humble down to earth, than
- 16:48E for environment, I for improvement. We need to improve every minute,
- 16:56every second. Then K for knowledge. We need to have that knowledge to
- 17:03plement it to practices, not to solve the problem, to make our life
- 17:07much better. And the last letter of this acronym of green check is K
- 17:12is H, which is human being. So green check is actually that's my
- 17:19genes. I put them on the front to save people and to save this
- 17:23planet. We're gonna have the voice of Monaco now, Alan Lendler, he's
- 17:29coming up and and along with Byron Bird. Bird, Byron Bird, what
- 17:40a perfect name for today. All right, who knows the peace bird?
- 17:44What's the peace bird? What a kind of bird is it? Peace stuff?
- 17:51Okay, well we have a bird coming up on stage and someone from
- 17:53Monica look out nicely stressed. You guys look beautiful. All right, come
- 17:56on up and share. Thank you very much for coming here. Thank you.
- 18:03I didn't see his jacket check this out. Thank you rich, Thank
- 18:07you. We came here. Prince Aubert could come unfortunately maybe next year for
- 18:12sure. And next year we promised where we'll perform. I am an an
- 18:18Leandrod of Vords for Monaco Official, and my name is Yron Bird with the
- 18:22group the Funk Group Son. We've performed all around the world with many many
- 18:27groups and stuff like this Golden Platinum Records. But what we wanted to do
- 18:32tonight is we wanted to tell the people here in Manhattan we're about to launch
- 18:37a big program all right. And this program is going to bring ecology and
- 18:44technology because there has to be a blend there into the world to help peace
- 18:51through what we do in sports, music and the arts. We work with
- 18:56the un DSMA, which is the United Nations of Apartment for the Sports,
- 19:00Music and Arts, and we plan to do many, many events around the
- 19:03world. It's my humble privilege to share this message with you on behalf of
- 19:10the Earth Elders, a council of thirteen Original Nation Elders that span every continent
- 19:15across the globe. As you'll see in the trailer, Original Nations have prophesied
- 19:22of our time for millennia. We are standing at the alchemic intersection of profound,
- 19:29social, spiritual, and ecological transformation. We're asking you for your urgent
- 19:36support and telling these stories. Our brother Mike A. Survivor of the residential
- 19:42schooling system. It's conducting vast pilgrimages across Canada, fostering a movement with the
- 19:48young people in honoring all life. We didn't live in one place. We
- 19:56moved through the forest the understanding that we've ons had to the earth. Hello
- 20:03everyone, my name is he from Angry Elephant and the reason why I'm here
- 20:10today is to discuss the dwindling population of the African elephant, which is very
- 20:15very important for us to take care of. The reason why is four hundred
- 20:19thousand elephants are left in the wild, well in the reservations because they have
- 20:26to be protected. Our job is to make sure that we do provide people
- 20:30that are helping the elephants stay alive with money, food for the elephants as
- 20:36such. And A y Young is the Global United Nations SPG, the only
- 20:44American ambassador who has an organization called Battery Tour and Battery Tour seventeen Ray why
- 20:52brought over a whole bunch of people for International Day of Peace. And He's
- 20:56gonna rock this room, this square audience and concert facility. So ay you
- 21:07ready? Here we go? Yes? A y Young is right there.
- 21:12Way in the back, a local hip hop artist makes an international name for
- 21:25himself. He is the first artist to power his concert with one hundred percent
- 21:29renewable energy. It is a real honor to recognize mister A. Y.
- 21:33Young, the founder of Battery Tours. It's incredible. Can't wait for you
- 21:36to see that the United Nations is now throwing its support behind him. Mister
- 21:41Young has made a big impact in his young life. Born in nineteen ninety
- 21:45one, He's a singer, songwriter, a dancer, producer, entrepreneur,
- 21:49and sustainability advocate. He's staged and performed more than eight country concerts. He
- 21:57was named by the United Nations since recently as one of seventeen Youth World Leaders
- 22:07of the World, the only individual selected for that honor from the United States.
- 22:18I'm looking forward to stimulating this local economy further, bringing entrepreneurs together,
- 22:22being businesses together, bringing the world together so we can make some change.
- 22:33I've been doing this sustainability thing for like twelve years, right bringing people energy,
- 22:37helping the world. I feel like I'm in a blue ocean. I
- 22:40feel like I've been alone. So I wrote about it. When the Bank
- 22:45drives and the masterpiece if wordsness strings a single sense to me. See,
- 22:53you can't give up? You be the one? Are you giving up?
- 22:56Are you giving up? Don't give up? You be the one. Are
- 23:00you giving up? Are you giving up? Now? I'm riding my way
- 23:06rock, get to out and space. Don't need to have anything which wain
- 23:11go. I was colsing in my blue ocean, in my space. I
- 23:25was constant my blue, my dance yours. You do anything, said your
- 23:33mind to just ride down way, Just ride down the way. I ride
- 23:40my own way. You never deserved. We get in and you can't control,
- 23:48but you feel in the hole. See it's that part of you.
- 23:56See you can't give up. You be the one. Are you giving up?
- 23:59Are you giving up? So you can't give up? Will you be
- 24:02the one? Are you giving enough? Don't give up me? And now
- 24:06I ride my way. I'm telling you man to missus statability journey. You
- 24:10could be crazy. It's like way the blue ocean, but it's good to
- 24:14be together. You guys make some noise house for ear there my bush,

- 24:36I rode my way. I'm running my way. I rode my now,
- 24:48ride my way, rock get to out of space. No need to navigate
- 24:53which way to go. Makes a noise for yourself with that with a boot
- 25:02a video that we have some technical difficulty before, but we're able to do
- 25:06now. The Canal Sued, founder of We the Planet, Chief Impact Officer,
- 25:11Choper Foundation, Special Advisor and global expert for a disruptive and depac Troper
- 25:18is our buddy modern human history. It is a pivotal moment for all of
- 25:30humanity where peace is no longer a progressive idea, not a collective imperative.
- 25:41A storm can be felt inside each and every one of us. It challenges
- 25:48the authenticity and oneness of our human consciousness. As we look around, we
- 25:53see a cacophony of global crisis, climate change, holllessness, family disease,
- 26:00displacement, war, and deep division that is strengthening all of humanity and utilizing
- 26:10music and the arts as a good medicine, serves as a beha of hope
- 26:15and inspiration for generations to come. All Right, so we're going to have
- 26:21a conversation around the planet. First and foremost, I'd really love to have
- 26:26each of you share your story in one minute or less so that we can
- 26:33get into the deep trenches of why we're here here and now we got to
- 26:37put up a two minute thing that we got another hour and a half here.
- 26:40Okay, So what I see waste? I see the opportunity to bring
- 26:44new life so it doesn't have to end up on the streets. Hile Manning
- 26:48Jackson. I'm a sustainable fashioned architect. I actually want to become more minimal
- 26:56than I feel like if I have one jacket that does vibe different things and
- 27:00it can replace a few different items in my voice robe. So we're gonna
- 27:03move into some talent section right now. My name is Dennis Ramdahan, and
- 27:08I am the co founder of the Humanitarian Humanitarian Concert fundraising Initiative. I want
- 27:18to be Elijah, Welcome, what's your Julia, What's in here? And
- 27:23shojas my own. Today I'm going to sing the song called My All hope
- 27:29you enjoyed, mm rush him and Chunks and Jacko come do your ma show
- 28:11me. It's the ching and need a show an Italia shin fu can booge?
- 28:18Should you go? Jo Hey? So, now, someone who has
- 28:26been very dear to us for a long time. Georgia Fumante sewing mis be
- 28:48Woman. Let's welcome Christy Marie, Hello New York. Happy earth Day.
- 29:14I'm singing this song because I think that we missed it the first time around.
- 29:18It's called Holiday by Madonna, and I just want to say I'm really
- 29:22grateful to be here with Paul Slacis and the rest of the beautiful New York
- 29:27soul community. Happy earth Day. Whoo. By the way, this was
- 29:42produced by the legendary father mc okay. Hi, Paul Slackishi, we're out
- 30:30of Times Square. We're at Times Square for a reason. We have Michael
- 30:33Ellie who's lives down there in Nashville. Hi, Michael, how are you
- 30:38doing well, sir? Good to see you, Good to see you.
- 30:41He is on his way up to the Times Square to grace our stage.
- 30:45And we were very excited about it for many reasons. But he couldn't pull
- 30:51it all together at that moment, as life has it's ups and downs.
- 30:56And Michael the reason why I'm so excited because these are the stainable guy.
- 31:00He's got a product that's going to be coming out in the market soon,
- 31:04food Feed the World, and I mean, it's just like unbelievable and it's
- 31:10natural, and so that's wonderful. The other wonderful thing about is, see
- 31:15he represents teenagers and so because somehow he said to me, and I don't
- 31:22know what this is, so, but there is this senior reality in life.
- 31:25Are you like close to an older age? Well, it's an older
- 31:32age. I just turned eighty. But since I'm going to live to be
- 31:34one hundred and twenty, I've got a few good years left. There you
- 31:37go. That's how that one works. That's my number as well. So
- 31:41Michael, look, and he can sing, he can entertain. He's done
- 31:45great things diplomatically all around the way. Michael, give us a little background
- 31:49on yourself, and like, okay, little background this. I'm going to
- 31:53sing a couple of songs that I wrote when I was going back and forth
- 31:56to the Soviet Union between nineteen six and eighty nine, I was a citizen
- 32:01diplomat entertainer and I was doing concerts peace concerts in Moscow, Leningrad, East
- 32:07Berlin, dressed in East Germany. I had a partner on that played pleck
- 32:13frium banjo and I played guitar, and this gentleman sponsored me. Thank you
- 32:17Jesus, so I was able to go back and forth. So this is
- 32:22a song that I wrote right after I came back from my first trip,
- 32:25and it's called let Me Be. And this song also is going to be
- 32:30in a musical that I've written on the mystical Life of the Christ called light
- 32:34Waves, which ultimately I want to be doing on Broadways. So this may
- 32:37be a preamble to what some of these folks are going to be able to
- 32:42see down the road to piece. It's called let me Be. Let me
- 32:49be the piece I want to feel, another word, the light that shines
- 33:02upon my way. Let me be the hand of brotherhood and friendship, and
- 33:17let me be the truth in every word I say. Let me be the
- 33:29chain that hold no man in bondage. Let it be the cause the joints
- 33:40humanity. Let me be the voice that speaks for truth, and just let
- 33:55me be the word that's said it's all people. I love you. Oh
- 34:07that is such great music. All right, real up, Well, I
- 34:09appreciate this, Paul, thank you for including me. Oh tremendously excited.
- 34:15I want to thank one each Christine Marie for making our introduction. This young
- 34:22lady phenomenal talent, become a very close friend in the past few months,
- 34:29and so I'm I'm a shout out for that young lady because she's a super
