- 0:07SPEAKER_01: No stop, no stuff, no stop, here goes.
- 0:12SPEAKER_02: Nice personality combination, hostile and intolerant.
- 0:16SPEAKER_02: Hey, it's cousin Larry, and you're listening to the O'Brien and Doug podcast, brought to you by Mojarmultimedia.com.
- 0:22SPEAKER_02: KMX music in PressCalmane and me, Doug's cousin and his mom's favorite nephew, Larry.
- 0:31SPEAKER_02: Meanwhile, back to the fun dungeon.
- 0:35SPEAKER_01: There we go.
- 0:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, look at that.
- 0:37SPEAKER_01: Just like that.
- 0:38SPEAKER_01: That's fantastic.
- 0:39SPEAKER_01: That's why we took Thanksgiving off.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: Well, actually, we took Thanksgiving off to just go.
- 0:44SPEAKER_00: Thanksgiving.
- 0:45SPEAKER_09: Nobody's listening to podcasts on Thanksgiving.
- 0:47SPEAKER_09: I think we had six downloads last week.
- 0:49SPEAKER_09: Yeah, that sounds about right.
- 0:50SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 0:51SPEAKER_09: Of course, that's not much different from any other week.
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: It's not.
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: So um, but yeah, we we spent a little time.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: We talked to cousin Larry and uh we put some that was fun too.
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it was.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: We put some new stuff together.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: And uh so the the podcast will sound the same but different.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: You know, it's the structure's gonna be the same, bro.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: Same two morons, different stuff.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: That should have that should have been a liner.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: And I was looking too, um, so we did do some what do you what do you call them positioners uh with cousin Larry, and we have one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten, eleven positioners.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: So that's one positioner a week.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: So we we've we we've got full sound fresh for like 11 weeks.
- 1:41SPEAKER_09: So that'll take us into uh mostly 11 weeks.
- 1:45SPEAKER_09: Roughly February.
- 1:46SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: Maybe we could do some more, or we'll just start over.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: Play those ones again.
- 1:51SPEAKER_09: Yeah, they'll everybody'll forget them by then.
- 1:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah, pretty much.
- 1:53SPEAKER_01: I'll be like, what?
- 1:54SPEAKER_01: This is brand new! Yeah, exactly.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: Uh alright, so it is episode 269.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: Go ahead, you can say it if you want.
- 2:03SPEAKER_09: It's still playing.
- 2:04SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I know.
- 2:05SPEAKER_09: Did you have for three minutes too?
- 2:08SPEAKER_09: Yeah, pretty much.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: It's okay.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: I mean, I can turn it down.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I was supposed to say it's a little distracting now.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah, okay.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: Okay, there we go.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: That's right.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: This felt it felt more like radio there for a second.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: It did.
- 2:18SPEAKER_00: I was like, oh yeah.
- 2:19SPEAKER_09: Turn it off.
- 2:21SPEAKER_09: Turn the dang thing on.
- 2:23SPEAKER_09: Have we played have we played have we played whiskey in the Jarro yet?
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: Jaro.
- 2:30SPEAKER_09: Jeez, I hated that.
- 2:31SPEAKER_09: When we did the request show, somebody would call up and be like, hey, can you guys play whiskey in the Jarro?
- 2:36SPEAKER_09: And I've every time I was like, dude, it's whiskey in the Jar.
- 2:39SPEAKER_09: Oh.
- 2:39SPEAKER_09: There is no O! Hetfield added that.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: Actually, no, he didn't.
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: The original says Jaro, too.
- 2:47SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I know, but nobody ever knew the original.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: I mean, the original original was like a traditional Yeah, it's a traditional Irish song, and they don't say Jaro.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: No.
- 2:57SPEAKER_09: But I think Thin Lizzie uh Phil uh Phil On it.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: Phil Anna did that.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 3:02SPEAKER_09: And I think Hetfield was just, you know.
- 3:04SPEAKER_09: But everybody knows the Hetfield version.
- 3:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so whiskey in the Jarro.
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so uh how was your Thanksgiving?
- 3:12SPEAKER_09: It was good.
- 3:13SPEAKER_09: Yeah?
- 3:14SPEAKER_09: Yeah, yeah.
- 3:16SPEAKER_09: Big gathering, small gathering?
- 3:17SPEAKER_09: Uh medium-sized.
- 3:19SPEAKER_09: It was uh us and the cousins, because Aunt Janny and Dale have uh vacated to Florida.
- 3:25SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: So um yeah, we also had a couple people vacate to Florida, so we're uh we're kind of a uh small crew this year.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: How like how like uh if you had to guess a number, how many people did you have?
- 3:37SPEAKER_00: Twenty.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: No.
- 3:39SPEAKER_09: Wow, us?
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 3:40SPEAKER_09: Oh, probably I would say around fifteen altogether.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: Okay, we had eleven.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 3:47SPEAKER_00: Um and we normally have uh we normally have I don't know, fifteen to fifteen to twenty, probably, depending on you know who's in town.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: But we didn't have Olivia, she stayed in Ohio.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: We didn't have Jude or or his wife because well she's about to give birth and pop, yeah.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah, couple weeks.
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: And uh like I said, um Teresa's uncle Paul and Beth moved to Florida for the for the winter.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 4:13SPEAKER_00: Um and they usually come.
- 4:14SPEAKER_00: So if we didn't have um we usually have some cousins come by, but they did their own thing.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: You know, so it was just we had a small crew, but it was nice.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: I mean it was Well, smaller's better sometimes.
- 4:24SPEAKER_09: Yeah, sometimes.
- 4:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:25SPEAKER_00: Sometimes.
- 4:26SPEAKER_00: Um but I'm sure Christmas will be a little bit more.
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think so.
- 4:30SPEAKER_00: Olivia's coming home for Christmas.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: I don't think I don't think Jude is.
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: Well, if they have the baby, um maybe.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: Um I don't I don't know how quick they want to move back.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: Like well, she's due what?
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: The 21st.
- 4:42SPEAKER_09: Yeah, that's a little bit more.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: So soon to be happy.
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: That might be a bit much.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: So I don't know.
- 4:50SPEAKER_09: Maybe she'll come by New Year's.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:52SPEAKER_09: We'll Or Martin Luther King Day.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: I'm sure they'll figure it out.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: I think he w knowing my son, um in the the you know he's always plan he's I think he wants to come back before New Year's.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: Just for the tax thing.
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: I think like he wants to get everything going.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: Um he's hoping to actually I don't know if that m has anything to do with it, but he does want to come back and and move into the house uh before the beginning of the year.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: Oh I don't know.
- 5:23SPEAKER_00: I mean, I don't know what difference that makes, but he th seems to think it does.
- 5:27SPEAKER_09: So Well, he he's a smart guy.
- 5:29SPEAKER_09: He probably knows more he probably knows he probably has more than he's letting on going on in there, so he's probably got a plan.
- 5:36SPEAKER_09: Oh, I bet he does.
- 5:37SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 5:37SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I bet he does.
- 5:38SPEAKER_09: I get it.
- 5:38SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 5:39SPEAKER_09: Um I trust in the process.
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: So let's see, what else?
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: Uh you got a new gig.
- 5:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: That was that kind of came out of nowhere, didn't it?
- 5:48SPEAKER_00: A little bit, yeah.
- 5:50SPEAKER_00: So you're still subbing, though.
- 5:52SPEAKER_09: Still subbing.
- 5:52SPEAKER_09: And now I'm I got a part part time.
- 5:57SPEAKER_09: Part part time.
- 5:58SPEAKER_09: Part part time.
- 5:59SPEAKER_00: Like one day a week, two days a week.
- 6:00SPEAKER_09: Yeah, yeah, probably just it'll it'll probably just be like fill in work.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: When they need somebody.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 6:05SPEAKER_09: But uh yeah, working at the Braden Theater.
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: Which is awesome.
- 6:08SPEAKER_09: Yeah, it's pretty cool, actually.
- 6:10SPEAKER_09: Uh not only slinging popcorn, I get to work with your son.
- 6:12SPEAKER_09: You get to work with Eli, yeah.
- 6:14SPEAKER_09: Which was He did train me the first night.
- 6:16SPEAKER_00: He was fun.
- 6:17SPEAKER_00: Had a blast.
- 6:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I had a good time of it.
- 6:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: Uh he go he actually asked me the other day, have you talked to Doug?
- 6:23SPEAKER_00: I said, uh well, I had I talked to him yesterday, but we didn't talk about that.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: And he's like, uh because he was working with Maureen the next day or the next the next time.
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I worked with her uh Friday night.
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he just wanted to know how you know how that went.
- 6:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I talked to him about it.
- 6:36SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 6:38SPEAKER_09: Yeah, uh yeah.
- 6:39SPEAKER_09: Friday was busy.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I bet.
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: Oh man.
- 6:41SPEAKER_00: I bet.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: Black Friday?
- 6:42SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 6:43SPEAKER_00: A lot of people in town for Thanksgiving.
- 6:45SPEAKER_09: Oh yeah, that that place was packed.
- 6:46SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 6:47SPEAKER_09: Everybody went to see Wicked.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: Wicked good.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: How does it feel to be working with Chris again?
- 6:52SPEAKER_00: It's kind of cool.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: It's like the old days.
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so for what people a lot of people don't know is geez, how long ago was that?
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: Twenty-five years ago, twenty years ago?
- 6:59SPEAKER_09: Oh, it was twenty.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: Twenty years ago.
- 7:01SPEAKER_09: Twenty one, twenty-two years ago.
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: Uh in the mall there was a uh uh CD record store.
- 7:05SPEAKER_00: Uh actually they didn't have records, I don't think.
- 7:07SPEAKER_09: No, the CDs and sometimes they had tapes, but they had movies also.
- 7:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: It was uh FYE.
- 7:13SPEAKER_00: Before that it was Record Town.
- 7:14SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: You worked there when it was FYE.
- 7:16SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 7:16SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I didn't work when I run those records.
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: And you work with Chris, the owner of the Braden.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: And uh and now 20 years later you're working on working with him again.
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: It's awesome.
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 7:25SPEAKER_09: I've always liked Chris.
- 7:26SPEAKER_09: We always get uh you know, I always get along with him good, and he's a good guy, and he's a good guy to work for.
- 7:31SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 7:31SPEAKER_09: So I mean, you know, I enjoy it.
- 7:33SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 7:33SPEAKER_09: There's a lot there's a lot more to running a theater than people would think.
- 7:38SPEAKER_01: Oh, I bet.
- 7:38SPEAKER_01: You know?
- 7:39SPEAKER_09: Yep, I bet.
- 7:39SPEAKER_09: And I just I'm really just scratching the surface.
- 7:42SPEAKER_09: I'm just like, you know, cleaning bathrooms and doing popcorn.
- 7:46SPEAKER_09: Not at the same time.
- 7:47SPEAKER_09: I was just gonna say um But yeah, there's I mean, I've I've gotten pretty good at uh slinging popcorn.
- 7:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 7:52SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I gotta you gotta you gotta get a system down and a flow going.
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 7:56SPEAKER_09: You know, once you once you get a flow going, but uh what I like about it is there's always something to do.
- 8:01SPEAKER_09: It's not like you're standing around.
- 8:03SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 8:04SPEAKER_09: There's always something you can be doing, which I like, which makes the time go faster.
- 8:08SPEAKER_00: So well, I know Eli's pretty pumped that you're working there, so that's cool.
- 8:12SPEAKER_09: Well, I like working with Eli.
- 8:13SPEAKER_09: He's good, he's a good kid.
- 8:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 8:14SPEAKER_00: Uh what else is going on?
- 8:16SPEAKER_00: So uh so our Thanksgiving was good.
- 8:18SPEAKER_00: Um We fed our first syndicate practice at the end.
- 8:22SPEAKER_00: We did.
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: That was gone.
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: That was fun.
- 8:25SPEAKER_00: It was fun.
- 8:26SPEAKER_00: And not only uh did we have a rehearsal, we had like a kind of kind of a soiree afterwards.
- 8:31SPEAKER_09: Yeah, we had a little hang time, you know.
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it was cool.
- 8:34SPEAKER_09: Some food and some you know, drinks.
- 8:36SPEAKER_00: So so we hadn't played together since September.
- 8:41SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 8:42SPEAKER_00: Uh the beginning part of September, which was our last gig.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: September 9th was gonna be.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it was our last gig, yeah.
- 8:47SPEAKER_00: And so we hadn't uh played together, and not only that, it was I don't think I had spoken to Chris Morton in in almost a month.
- 8:57SPEAKER_00: Like in person.
- 8:58SPEAKER_00: I think it was like at least three weeks um that I hadn't uh hadn't gone into the store and hadn't seen him.
- 9:04SPEAKER_00: And so it was just like it was needed.
- 9:06SPEAKER_00: I think we all needed to kind of get together.
- 9:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 9:08SPEAKER_00: And uh so we got together and we played uh a couple songs that we had been working on uh but struggling with.
- 9:17SPEAKER_09: We kind of nailed them.
- 9:18SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 9:18SPEAKER_09: You know, I think that's what we needed.
- 9:19SPEAKER_09: We just needed a break.
- 9:20SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 9:21SPEAKER_09: Get away from step away from them and then just come back with fresh ears and stuff.
- 9:24SPEAKER_09: I think that's true.
- 9:25SPEAKER_09: I mean, everything they all went good.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and we had and we introduced two new songs.
- 9:30SPEAKER_00: At least two, yeah.
- 9:31SPEAKER_00: And we got them the first try.
- 9:34SPEAKER_00: Pretty much, yeah.
- 9:34SPEAKER_00: Pretty much the first try.
- 9:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 9:36SPEAKER_00: So it was uh it's exciting.
- 9:38SPEAKER_00: Uh and on top of that, we're making plans because next year, 2026, is our tenth anniversary.
- 9:47SPEAKER_00: Ten years of the Star City Syndicate, which is just mind-blowing.
- 9:52SPEAKER_09: We didn't we didn't think it'd last a year.
- 9:54SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 9:55SPEAKER_00: And uh so ten years into the Star City Syndicate, and we're gonna we're we're gonna come up with some ideas and some plans and stuff to celebrate that.
- 10:03SPEAKER_00: And because we do have a uh we're lucky to have a pretty big following in this area anyway, and uh we wanna we wanna celebrate with those folks that cut that follow us everywhere, yeah everywhere we go.
- 10:15SPEAKER_00: I mean, we've got people that come to see us in Prescott, and then and if we're in Matawasca, they'll travel to Matawaska to see us in Holton.
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: They went down to Holton one time to see us.
- 10:24SPEAKER_00: I mean, so they they follow us all over uh Arusta County, which is the biggest county this side of the Mississippi.
- 10:30SPEAKER_09: It's like being in the Grateful Dead without the acid.
- 10:33SPEAKER_09: Pretty much, you know.
- 10:34SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: So um so yeah, tenth anniversary, we'll uh we'll celebrate um somehow.
- 10:42SPEAKER_00: Um I'm trying to think.
- 10:44SPEAKER_00: Oh, and then yeah, and then afterwards we uh we went downstairs and had some pizza and some drinks and some some snacks and just kind of talked.
- 10:52SPEAKER_00: And it was it was pretty cool.
- 10:53SPEAKER_09: I had vegan pizza.
- 10:55SPEAKER_09: Yeah, it was good, yeah, yeah.
- 10:56SPEAKER_00: Um and so that was that's where we are with the Star City Syndicate.
- 11:00SPEAKER_00: I think we're trying to get back together again t soon.
- 11:03SPEAKER_00: I'm not sure how that's gonna go.
- 11:04SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 11:05SPEAKER_09: Um you got holidays coming up, and you guys all got Christmas concerts.
- 11:09SPEAKER_09: Oh my word, yeah.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: Begin being music there's several music teachers in the band.
- 11:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 11:14SPEAKER_00: And we all have our school concerts on different days, and it's just not plus there's you know, pet band and basketball games.
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah, basketball games, and yeah, and so it's busy.
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: It's very busy.
- 11:27SPEAKER_00: Um, so yeah, this is not a good time for uh anything extracurricular.
- 11:33SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: For for us anyway.
- 11:35SPEAKER_00: So um but but it's exciting.
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: It's exciting to uh to get together again and uh uh let's see.
- 11:44SPEAKER_00: I'm trying to think of uh if you know any piano players, please let me know.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: Like um someone who can read music.
- 11:59SPEAKER_00: Like I'm looking for a Sarah Diet.
- 12:01SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: Because um so my this is this is kind of a off-the-beaten path thing, but we were talking about our day jobs and as a music teacher, as a chorus director for the middle school and the high school, I have this woman that has been playing with me for a couple of years, and um the first year that I had her, she was diagnosed with cancer.
- 12:27SPEAKER_00: And and so I had to have someone fill in for her, which, you know, uh thank heaven for that person.
- 12:35SPEAKER_00: Um but then she came back and she was doing better, and she still is doing better.
- 12:39SPEAKER_00: She's you know, she's gotten some good tests and everything, but recently uh her white counts were off, and she thinks it's just because she's doing too much.
- 12:50SPEAKER_00: Completely understand.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: So she's gonna step back after the the winter concert, after the Christmas concert.
- 12:57SPEAKER_00: And so I won't have a piano player for my choir all of the second semester.
- 13:03SPEAKER_00: Ah, yes.
- 13:04SPEAKER_00: And you know that I do play piano.
- 13:08SPEAKER_00: This is correct, but I don't play the kind of piano that is needed.
- 13:14SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 13:15SPEAKER_00: I don't read music well.
- 13:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 13:18SPEAKER_00: Um, and I need someone who can look at a piece of music and just go as Sarah Diet does.
- 13:26SPEAKER_00: That's correct.
- 13:27SPEAKER_00: And Sarah uh played piano for my jazz choir, which we'll we'll be getting together next week uh to pick songs because District Jazz is coming up in February.
- 13:42SPEAKER_00: Sarah has too much going on.
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 13:45SPEAKER_00: So she is backing out.
- 13:47SPEAKER_00: So I've lost both piano players uh as of the end of November or middle of December.
- 13:55SPEAKER_00: So I don't have someone to play for my jazz choir.
- 13:58SPEAKER_00: So I have an option there of brushing up on my piano skills and and reading.
- 14:03SPEAKER_09: Well, I think I think you should go in a different direction and jazz scat.
- 14:10SPEAKER_00: What scat kind of is jazz, but what do you what do you mean?
- 14:13SPEAKER_09: You don't need a piano player, and you just have scooby-di-dee doob da.
- 14:19SPEAKER_00: Just step up there on stage on the district jazz and just just do that and see what they say.

- 14:30SPEAKER_09: I can play jazz tambourine for y'all.
- 14:32SPEAKER_09: Scooby-dooba dot, scobby dad, do it, scaboob.
- 14:36SPEAKER_08: And everybody can be like that's groovy dad.
- 14:41SPEAKER_00: Right.

- 14:43SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 14:44SPEAKER_00: Uh so you're actually helping with this stress level that's that I'm watching.
- 14:54SPEAKER_09: All you gotta do is basically be Bill Cosby without being Bill Cosby.
- 14:58SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 14:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 14:59SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 15:00SPEAKER_09: You know what I mean?
- 15:00SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I do.
- 15:01SPEAKER_09: You gotta be the the persona of Bill Cosby.
- 15:04SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 15:04SPEAKER_09: The one that we, you know, America's death.
- 15:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you know what I mean?
- 15:07SPEAKER_09: Yeah, yeah.
- 15:08SPEAKER_09: Don't be the real Bill Cosby.
- 15:10SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 15:11SPEAKER_09: Just saying.
- 15:12SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 15:19SPEAKER_08: You know what?
- 15:21SPEAKER_08: Scooby-doo the bum b- I know exactly what you mean.
- 15:27SPEAKER_09: Just just have each one of your members of the choir come up and just scat for like 30 seconds.
- 15:33SPEAKER_00: And you'll just Well, I was gonna say they have they scat and they have a conversation with each other.
- 15:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 15:38SPEAKER_00: Like one looks at the other one and says, Scooby-doo dot, do that now.
- 15:44SPEAKER_08: You know?
- 15:44SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 15:45SPEAKER_00: And I'll be over in the corner getting it.
- 15:46SPEAKER_09: You'll just be like get a stand-up bass and boom boom boom boom boom.
- 15:53SPEAKER_01: I'll just do that with my fat.
- 15:58SPEAKER_01: I'm picturing it.
- 15:59SPEAKER_01: I can see it.
- 16:00SPEAKER_09: Everybody's like, man, did you see Prescott's very I've never seen anything like that?
- 16:07SPEAKER_09: Do they have a dare program?
- 16:12SPEAKER_07: I think they're all dropped.
- 16:16SPEAKER_08: Oh high school kids are dooba that baby.
- 16:24SPEAKER_09: Sad part is could be mushmouth from uh fat Albert.
- 16:29SPEAKER_09: We'd probably get a top score.
- 16:30SPEAKER_09: No, I'm telling you, it would blow originality.
- 16:33SPEAKER_09: It would blow people's minds.
- 16:35SPEAKER_09: They wouldn't know what to think.
- 16:37SPEAKER_09: It would be like when you guys got done, they would just be like Yeah, like what was that?
- 16:45SPEAKER_09: But okay.
- 16:46SPEAKER_09: You know, violently like, yeah.
- 16:49SPEAKER_09: It's like every the end of every 80s movie, you know, just the slow clap.
- 16:53SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 16:54SPEAKER_01: And then everybody catches on, and then yeah.
- 17:01SPEAKER_09: Exactly.
- 17:02SPEAKER_01: It's brilliant.
- 17:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 17:03SPEAKER_01: Tell you, man.
- 17:04SPEAKER_01: I I think it's I've solved your problem.
- 17:06SPEAKER_01: You're welcome.
- 17:07SPEAKER_01: It's worth considering.
- 17:08SPEAKER_09: Just bring it up next time you have jazz bar practice.
- 17:11SPEAKER_09: Just see what they say.
- 17:12SPEAKER_09: I will.
- 17:13SPEAKER_09: You'd be like, just hey, Doug had an idea for y'all.
- 17:16SPEAKER_09: And they'll be like, who the frick is Doug?
- 17:18SPEAKER_09: He was like, don't worry about it.
- 17:20SPEAKER_09: But he's got an idea.
- 17:22SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 17:23SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 17:24SPEAKER_09: Just pass it off, and they'll just be like, man, Doug is weird.
- 17:29SPEAKER_00: So I I do have a couple of options.
- 17:31SPEAKER_00: Doug Doug and drugs.
- 17:32SPEAKER_00: So I do have a couple of options.
- 17:34SPEAKER_00: That is one.
- 17:35SPEAKER_00: Drugs?
- 17:36SPEAKER_00: No, no.
- 17:37SPEAKER_00: Your idea is one.
- 17:39SPEAKER_00: Tony man, I think it'd be great.
- 17:41SPEAKER_00: I'd go see that.
- 17:42SPEAKER_00: The other idea is like I said, to brush up on my piano skills or kind of write all the chords into the music and just play the chords, which that's what John does.
- 17:51SPEAKER_00: That's what he told me.
- 17:51SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 17:52SPEAKER_00: He says he just writes the chords.
- 17:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 17:53SPEAKER_09: I saw I saw him at work the other day.
- 17:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 17:55SPEAKER_00: And I mean I could do that, but I don't think my students are.
- 18:01SPEAKER_00: And my students are fine, but I don't think they're they can't not be conducted.
- 18:07SPEAKER_09: You know, they have to be that's See, that's why I'm thinking option A is the way to go, because they don't have to really be conducted because they can just be free.
- 18:17SPEAKER_09: Jazz is about freedom.
- 18:18SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 18:19SPEAKER_09: You know what I'm saying?
- 18:20SPEAKER_09: Jazz is one of those one of the uniquely American things.
- 18:24SPEAKER_09: You know, you got the Constitution, baseball, and jazz music.
- 18:31SPEAKER_09: You know what I'm saying?
- 18:32SPEAKER_09: I do.
- 18:33SPEAKER_09: You know, you know, what you know, centuries when, you know, if we last that long, you know, and everything's a rubble and people are like digging through the the wreckage of what was this country, they're gonna be like Constitution, baseball, jazz music.
- 18:48SPEAKER_09: Jazz is about freedom.
- 18:50SPEAKER_09: So just let them do whatever, man.
- 18:54SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 18:55SPEAKER_09: Telling you, I I I think it I think it's I think it's worth a shot.
- 18:59SPEAKER_09: I think it's worth a talk about.
- 19:01SPEAKER_00: You know?
- 19:01SPEAKER_00: Well, I I don't doubt that.
- 19:03SPEAKER_00: I'm trying to set something.
- 19:04SPEAKER_09: If you want me to come in, I I'll I'll just go in and I'll just pitch him my idea and then I'll just bounce out.
- 19:10SPEAKER_09: Right?
- 19:12SPEAKER_09: You know.
- 19:13SPEAKER_09: Would you?
- 19:14SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I'll just I'll just be like, hey, look, I had this idea, you know, because y'all ain't communists.
- 19:20SPEAKER_09: You're all Americans.
- 19:22SPEAKER_09: Alright.
- 19:22SPEAKER_09: So we're gonna do this.
- 19:25SPEAKER_00: You're gonna love it.
- 19:26SPEAKER_00: You uh so my other choice is to use tracks.
- 19:31SPEAKER_00: And I don't really want to use tracks.
- 19:32SPEAKER_09: Yeah, tracks is kind of lame, but I mean, I mean, in a pinch it could be Yeah, i i I mean, uh exactly.
- 19:39SPEAKER_00: You could do I mean you could pull it off, but I was just going to see if I'm able to um play jazz piano.
- 19:47SPEAKER_00: Let's see.
- 19:48SPEAKER_00: What's um be like Is that going through?
- 19:57SPEAKER_09: I don't think so.
- 19:58SPEAKER_09: Doesn't sound it.
- 19:59SPEAKER_00: Oh, wait, hold on.
- 20:01SPEAKER_09: There's always something there's always a there it is.
- 20:04SPEAKER_00: There it is.
- 20:04SPEAKER_00: So, like, let's see.

- 21:03SPEAKER_01: Just put that as like a 30-second promo.
- 21:05SPEAKER_01: On the next O'Brien and Nuggs.
- 21:11SPEAKER_09: People bounce a bomb and be like, they've actually lost it now.
- 21:16SPEAKER_09: It's happened.
- 21:17SPEAKER_09: They don't care.
- 21:18SPEAKER_09: They absolutely don't care.
- 21:20SPEAKER_00: They have gone over the edge.
- 21:23SPEAKER_00: Oh my word.
- 21:24SPEAKER_00: Anyway, we should get to like talking about some music or something.
- 21:27SPEAKER_00: Some like real.
- 21:27SPEAKER_00: We were we're jeting.
- 21:29SPEAKER_08: Jazz scanning, man.
- 21:30SPEAKER_08: Awesome.
- 21:47SPEAKER_08: See?
- 21:49SPEAKER_09: I think Bob Dylan uh invented jazz.
- 21:51SPEAKER_00: I think you just sounded like Bob Dylan there.
- 21:56SPEAKER_00: Alright, that's not working.
- 21:58SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 21:58SPEAKER_00: Uh so I couldn't find really anything to talk about on uh Oh, I did I did hear something interesting.
- 22:06SPEAKER_09: Something I picked up on.
- 22:07SPEAKER_09: I was I've been listening to this book by Timmer Sommer.
- 22:10SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 22:11SPEAKER_09: About Hootie and the Blowfish.
- 22:12SPEAKER_09: He he signed Hootie and the Blowfish to Atlantic back back in the day, so he wrote a book about them.
- 22:18SPEAKER_00: That'd be an interesting read.
- 22:19SPEAKER_09: It's actually very good.
- 22:20SPEAKER_09: It's really a good read.
- 22:22SPEAKER_09: But that song uh from the first album?
- 22:28SPEAKER_09: Yeah, off cracker review.
- 22:30SPEAKER_09: Um great song.
- 22:35SPEAKER_09: Yes.
- 22:35SPEAKER_09: There's a line in there I've been singing wrong for years.
- 22:38SPEAKER_09: Just because you know Darius.
- 22:40SPEAKER_09: I was I will say, yeah.
- 22:42SPEAKER_00: So so when he became a country singer, uh you could understand every word that he said.
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he got way better over the years.
- 22:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and I don't know if it was better or if it was a choice, because he, you know Could be.
- 22:52SPEAKER_00: But when he was with Hootie, you half the time you couldn't understand what he was saying.
- 22:56SPEAKER_09: But there was there's a line in there that I thought was peace is coming.
- 23:02SPEAKER_09: Peace coming.
- 23:04SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 23:04SPEAKER_09: It's not.
- 23:05SPEAKER_09: What is it?
- 23:06SPEAKER_09: P.E.'s coming.
- 23:07SPEAKER_09: Public enemy.
- 23:09SPEAKER_09: What?
- 23:09SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 23:10SPEAKER_09: I did not know that.
- 23:12SPEAKER_09: PE's coming.
- 23:13SPEAKER_09: What are the rest of the lyrics?
- 23:15SPEAKER_09: I can't remember now.
- 23:16SPEAKER_09: But I've been singing that wrong for a year because I thought it was peace coming.
- 23:19SPEAKER_00: Well, peace coming.
- 23:22SPEAKER_00: So I want to because I now I have to know because uh uh drowning lyrics.
- 23:30SPEAKER_00: Because I want to know what the context he's talking about.
- 23:35SPEAKER_00: Um public enemy.
- 23:41SPEAKER_00: Is it about racism?
- 23:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, right.
- 23:43SPEAKER_09: Yeah, so I think it's a second verse.
- 23:46SPEAKER_00: It says peace is coming.
- 23:47SPEAKER_00: No, it's PE's coming.
- 23:50SPEAKER_00: Uh Peace is coming, that's all I gotta say.
- 23:53SPEAKER_00: Wanna turn and run away.
- 23:54SPEAKER_00: They're just telling you how they see it.
- 23:55SPEAKER_00: Right or wrong, they don't care.
- 23:57SPEAKER_00: You wish that they could that they would quit.
- 24:01SPEAKER_09: Too legit.
- 24:03SPEAKER_09: Too legit to quit.
- 24:06unknown: Uh huh.
- 24:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, well see, this is this is uh Google, and they have Peace is coming.
- 24:12SPEAKER_09: Yeah, wrong.
- 24:13SPEAKER_00: Interesting.
- 24:14SPEAKER_09: Wrong.
- 24:15SPEAKER_00: Drowning lyrics, song meeting, hooting the bluefish.
- 24:17SPEAKER_00: Let's see.
- 24:18SPEAKER_00: No, on this one, okay, and this one it does say PE is coming.
- 24:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 24:21SPEAKER_00: P.
- 24:22SPEAKER_00: E.'s coming is all I gotta say.
- 24:23SPEAKER_00: I wanna turn it run away.
- 24:24SPEAKER_00: They're just telling you how they see it, public enemy.
- 24:27SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 24:28SPEAKER_00: Uh right or wrong, they don't care.
- 24:30SPEAKER_00: You wish that they would quit.
- 24:33SPEAKER_09: So does that mean like uh public enemy is keeps keep saying how racism is Well, I think it was because playing in the South for public enemy was like tougher because it's it was still pretty racist, even back in the 90s.
- 24:48SPEAKER_00: Oh, I didn't even put that together because yeah, because they would have been from from North Carolina, right?
- 24:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah, South Carolina.
- 24:53SPEAKER_00: South Carolina.
- 24:53SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 24:54SPEAKER_00: South Carolina.
- 24:55SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 24:55SPEAKER_09: I thought yeah, you're right.
- 24:56SPEAKER_09: South Carolina.
- 24:57SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 24:57SPEAKER_09: Charleston.
- 24:58SPEAKER_09: Uh Columbia.
- 25:00SPEAKER_00: Uh well, okay, Darius lives in Charleston now.
- 25:02SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 25:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 25:03SPEAKER_09: But they're all from the Columbia.
- 25:04SPEAKER_00: Got it.
- 25:05SPEAKER_00: So area.
- 25:06SPEAKER_00: So I get it.
- 25:07SPEAKER_00: P so Public Enemy must have been coming to town.
- 25:09SPEAKER_09: Yeah, oh like well, I mean, it was like one of those things where like the song off of uh Fear of a Black uh was it Fear of the Black Plan?
- 25:16SPEAKER_09: No, Apocalypse Now.
- 25:17SPEAKER_09: Apocalypse Now.
- 25:18SPEAKER_09: Um by the time I get to Arizona, because Arizona wouldn't uh rec recognize Martin Luther King's birthday.
- 25:25SPEAKER_00: Right, okay, yep, I know what you mean.
- 25:27SPEAKER_09: It's that kind of thing, you know, you know, the playing and you know the social, you know, social justice.
- 25:33SPEAKER_00: I always thought it was peaceful.
- 25:34SPEAKER_09: I always did too, until the guy was like, yeah, that's that's the most you know, he it was it was so important that he it was part of his book.
- 25:41SPEAKER_09: So I was like, oh, PE's coming.
- 25:44SPEAKER_00: And and even Google thought it was peace.
- 25:46SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 25:46SPEAKER_09: Stupid Google.
- 25:47SPEAKER_09: Stupid Google.
- 25:48SPEAKER_09: But I thought that was interesting.
- 25:49SPEAKER_09: No, that is interesting.
- 25:50SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 25:50SPEAKER_09: Um it's an interesting book.
- 25:52SPEAKER_09: It's a real it's a really good read.
- 25:54SPEAKER_09: Um have you read Darius's book yet?
- 25:57SPEAKER_09: No, that's next on my list.
- 25:58SPEAKER_00: Okay, you do you have it?
- 25:59SPEAKER_00: I don't have it yet.
- 25:59SPEAKER_00: You don't have it yet.
- 26:00SPEAKER_00: No.
- 26:01SPEAKER_00: Um so anyway, there's not much on ultimate classicrock.com, but I thought this was interesting.
- 26:06SPEAKER_00: Actually, you thought it was more interesting than I thought it was, but uh we we could go there.
- 26:11SPEAKER_00: Um so Ultimate Classic Rock has a list of the 15 best diamond-selling hard rock and metal albums.
- 26:20SPEAKER_00: Now, platinum is a million records, gold is five hundred thousand, uh diamond is ten million.
- 26:28SPEAKER_00: I think the first diamond artist in general was Shania Twain.
- 26:33SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 26:33SPEAKER_00: I think so.
- 26:34SPEAKER_00: I think she Nope.
- 26:36SPEAKER_00: I think I well you would think it was the Beatles, wouldn't you?
- 26:40SPEAKER_00: Hold on.
- 26:41SPEAKER_09: Well, I wouldn't but I'm I'm uh you know I'm biased that way.
- 26:49SPEAKER_00: Um I'm just typing this in to see list of high certified music artists and yeah, I don't care.
- 26:56SPEAKER_00: I want the first.
- 26:57SPEAKER_00: The first.
- 27:00SPEAKER_00: Um Okay, well maybe she was the first country.
- 27:12SPEAKER_08: That I don't think this is just going too deep here.
- 27:23SPEAKER_00: Okay, hold on.
- 27:24SPEAKER_00: The list show the artist with at least ten multi-platinum albums.
- 27:29SPEAKER_00: Elvis Presley.
- 27:31SPEAKER_00: This is interesting.
- 27:34SPEAKER_00: Uh the list this list shows the artist with at least ten platinum albums, excluding compilations.
- 27:40SPEAKER_00: Elvis Presley has thirty thirty platinum albums.
- 27:49SPEAKER_00: Okay, so alright.
- 27:51SPEAKER_00: George Strait has twenty-four and the Beatles have nineteen.
- 27:54SPEAKER_00: George Strait has more platinum albums than the Beatles?
- 27:59SPEAKER_00: Interesting.
- 28:00SPEAKER_00: Makes sense.
- 28:01SPEAKER_00: Uh so that's just platinum.
- 28:03SPEAKER_00: Most diamond, here we go.
- 28:05SPEAKER_00: This table tracks artists with at least two diamond certified albums.
- 28:09SPEAKER_00: Garth Brooks is first, the Beatles are second, Led Zeppelin, and then Shania Twain.
- 28:15SPEAKER_09: Maybe she was the first female.
- 28:17SPEAKER_00: Maybe.
- 28:18SPEAKER_00: Female country, yeah, could be.
- 28:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 28:20SPEAKER_00: First female country artist, Shania Twain.
- 28:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 28:23SPEAKER_00: That would make sense.
- 28:24SPEAKER_00: That would make sense.
- 28:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 28:25SPEAKER_00: I r I had just always I know they made a big deal about when she got a diamond award.
- 28:31SPEAKER_00: So anyway, uh the headline is the top 15 diamond selling hard rock and metal albums ranked worst to best.
- 28:39SPEAKER_00: Now, of course, this is Brian Raleigh's opinion.
- 28:42SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 28:43SPEAKER_00: So it's subjective.
- 28:44SPEAKER_00: Um so let's just uh let's just hit it.
- 28:47SPEAKER_00: Uh the top 15 diamond selling hard rock albums, number 15, Pearl Jam's 10.
- 28:53SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 28:53SPEAKER_00: From 1991.
- 28:55SPEAKER_00: Um he says Pearl Jam was lumped into the Grunge Zeitgeist when they released 10, but the band's diamond selling debut owes a clear debt to classic rock titans of the 60s and 70s.
- 29:04SPEAKER_00: Um did these elements turn Pearl Jam into the definitive arena rock band of the Grunge era.
- 29:09SPEAKER_00: And doesn't Eddie Vetter hate that album?
- 29:11SPEAKER_00: Or the sound of it, I mean.
- 29:13SPEAKER_09: Probably.
- 29:14SPEAKER_00: I think I read that.
- 29:15SPEAKER_09: Eddie Vetter hates a lot of things.
- 29:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think I read that.
- 29:17SPEAKER_09: Like speaking coherently.
- 29:20SPEAKER_00: Have you ever seen those memes where it's like the on LinkedIn where all the the names of the people, he kind of it's Eddie Vetter singing one of the Pearl Jam songs, but it sounds like they're saying the names of the people.
- 29:33SPEAKER_09: I like the ones where like I was confused about this until I heard the wise words of Eddie Vetter, and it went like, that was cracks me up.
- 29:44SPEAKER_00: Uh number 14, Bon Jovi Slippery Wenwet.
- 29:47SPEAKER_00: Uh he says, hard rock in the loosest sense of the phrase.
- 29:51SPEAKER_00: Bon Jovi Slippery Wenwet launched the new Jersey band into the stratosphere with its masterful combination of sugary hooks, hard-on-sleeve vocals, and fiery guitar riffs and solos.
- 30:02SPEAKER_00: Um Z Z Tops Eliminator from 1983 is at number 13.
- 30:09SPEAKER_00: Um the Diamond Selling LP filters the band's raunchy barroom boogie through a futuristic new wave prism.
- 30:15SPEAKER_00: That's of course with legs.
- 30:16SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 30:17SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 30:17SPEAKER_00: And Sharp Dress Man, I think on there, too.
- 30:19SPEAKER_00: Metallica is at number 12 with the the black album from 1991.
- 30:24SPEAKER_00: Metallica's self-titled album, colloquially known as the Black Album, divided fans upon release with its stomping mid-tempo hard rock anthems and gasp power ballads.
- 30:36SPEAKER_00: But that didn't stop it from becoming the best-selling album of the Nielsen sound scan era with 20 million certified units and counting.
- 30:43SPEAKER_00: Um Boston's debut album from 1976.
- 30:48SPEAKER_00: Okay, let's go back here.
- 30:50SPEAKER_00: Pearl Jam's album is 13 times platinum.
- 30:55SPEAKER_00: So they've sold 13 million albums.
- 30:58SPEAKER_00: Bon Jovi's uh Slippery When Wet, 15 times Platinum.
- 31:01SPEAKER_00: ZZ Top uh is Diamond, so that's 10 million, right?
- 31:05SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 31:06SPEAKER_00: Uh two times Diamond, Metallica's black album.
- 31:09SPEAKER_00: So they've sold 20 million.
- 31:11SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 31:11SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 31:11SPEAKER_00: And Boston, the debut album from 76, 17 times platinum.
- 31:16SPEAKER_09: Jeez, girl.
- 31:17SPEAKER_09: So that's 17 million albums, right?
- 31:19SPEAKER_00: 17 million albums.
- 31:21SPEAKER_09: Yep.
- 31:21SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 31:22SPEAKER_00: Uh Boston's self-titled debut album is a verifiable greatest hits collection and a stunning work of clarity and virtuosity from guitarist songwriter and producer Tom Schultz, who recorded most of the eighth song LP in his apartment basement and an elaborate use, uh elaborate ruse against epic records.
- 31:38SPEAKER_00: Uh Led Zeppelin's physical graffiti, sixteen times platinum.
- 31:42SPEAKER_00: That's at number ten.
- 31:44SPEAKER_00: Uh does what the best double albums do.
- 31:46SPEAKER_00: It breathes, it sprawls, it soars, it rocks.
- 31:48SPEAKER_00: The hulking set encompasses all the Led Zeppelin had achieved on their previous five albums.
- 31:53SPEAKER_00: Uh let's see.
- 31:55SPEAKER_00: Editor's note we know that technically physical graffiti only sold eight million copies and earned its diamond certification by virtue of being a double album.
- 32:03SPEAKER_00: We don't care.
- 32:05SPEAKER_09: Fair enough.
- 32:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I guess so.
- 32:07SPEAKER_00: Def Leopard's Pyromania sold ten million.
- 32:10SPEAKER_00: Uh that's in 1983.
- 32:11SPEAKER_00: Def Leopard earned two back-to-back diamond albums with Pyromania and Hysteria with respect to the latter.
- 32:17SPEAKER_00: Um Pyromania blows its successor out of the water.
- 32:22SPEAKER_00: It's the album where all the pieces clicked into place for Def Leopard and the Sheffield Rockers bridge the gap between their new wave British heavy metal adjacent roots and their soaring pop rock future.
- 32:32SPEAKER_00: Nirvana's Nevermind, 13 times Platinum is at number eight.
- 32:36SPEAKER_00: Uh was their second album, actually, single-handedly revolutionized rock.
- 32:41SPEAKER_00: First one, Bleach?
- 32:42SPEAKER_00: I think so.
- 32:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 32:42SPEAKER_00: Uh at the dawn of the new decade.
- 32:45SPEAKER_00: Uh let's see, Van Halen's 1984 sold 10 million.
- 32:49SPEAKER_00: That was in 1984, and they're at number seven.
- 32:52SPEAKER_00: They ended their David Lee Roth era and capped a stunning six album hot streak with '84, their most technically sophisticated and pop-friendly album to date.
- 33:00SPEAKER_00: Led Zeppelin on the list again.
- 33:03SPEAKER_00: Uh 10 million copies of their debut album, 1969.
- 33:07SPEAKER_00: Uh, you can use any number of superlatives to describe Led Zeppelin's debut, but perhaps the greatest to its brilliance is that it's hard to imagine a time when it didn't exist.
- 33:16SPEAKER_09: That's why I was surprised when physical graffiti showed up on this list.
- 33:20SPEAKER_09: I was like, I would go with one of the first four.
- 33:23unknown: Right.
- 33:24SPEAKER_09: But here it is, here's the first one.
- 33:26SPEAKER_00: The first one, and I'm wondering if well, like Led Zeppelin four to me, with with with uh um well, and Led Zeppelin II, actually.
- 33:37SPEAKER_00: I would think so.
- 33:38SPEAKER_00: I would think so too.
- 33:39SPEAKER_00: By now, I mean, geez.
- 33:41SPEAKER_00: Uh Guns and Roses, Appetite for Destruction, 18 times platinum.
- 33:45SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 33:45SPEAKER_00: Uh J and R debut album offered an antidote to the oversaturated pop metal scene clogging the sunset strip circuit, 1987.
- 33:53SPEAKER_00: Back in black, ACDC, 27 times platinum.
- 33:58SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 33:58SPEAKER_00: Uh ACDC had no sooner achieved their global breakthrough with 1979's Highway to Hell than their future was jeopardized by the untimely death, of course, of lead singer Bon Scott.
- 34:08SPEAKER_09: Uh you laid some knowledge on me the other night that they had a lead singer before Bon Scott.
- 34:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah, because I was I was talking about um their You were talking about another song.
- 34:18SPEAKER_00: Because I went to sit next to you.
- 34:19SPEAKER_00: I had my pizza, and I said, Can I sit next to you, girl?
- 34:22SPEAKER_00: And you looked you looked at me kind of weird.
- 34:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I was like, not a girl.
- 34:27SPEAKER_00: That was ACDC's uh first song, uh first hit song.
- 34:33SPEAKER_00: Um and let's see.
- 34:36SPEAKER_00: Bon Scott did sing uh that song in concert, but this, I believe, is the original.
- 34:47SPEAKER_00: Um and his name was it Dave Edmonds?
- 34:52SPEAKER_00: I want to see.
- 34:54SPEAKER_00: Dave Evans.
- 34:55SPEAKER_00: Sorry.
- 34:56SPEAKER_00: Dave Evans.
- 34:57SPEAKER_00: Uh this is the original lead singer for ACDC.
- 35:03SPEAKER_00: Why is there no oh because I turned it down.
- 35:05SPEAKER_00: That's what no, why did I turn it down?
- 35:07SPEAKER_00: Why is there no audio?
- 35:09SPEAKER_00: Oh, there we go.
- 35:16SPEAKER_00: This is from 1974.
- 36:01SPEAKER_00: It's very pop for uh very.
- 36:03SPEAKER_09: I was like, this is not the ACDC everybody knows and loves now.
- 36:07SPEAKER_00: Uh let me let me give you another little bit of trivia uh about ACDC.
- 36:12SPEAKER_00: And I don't know, I mean, I this stuff I I acquire.
- 36:15SPEAKER_00: I don't I'm not a huge ACDC fan.
- 36:16SPEAKER_00: I like I like ACDC, but um their brother, George Young, who was their producer early on, anyway, for a lot of those early records, was uh uh in a band.
- 36:34SPEAKER_00: And you might recognize the song.
- 36:37SPEAKER_00: They had a hit song, and this this actually kind of reminds me uh because that's kind of a very pop for AZ DC.
- 36:50SPEAKER_00: I've heard of the song Yeah, Black is Black.
- 36:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah, this is Los Bravo.
- 36:55SPEAKER_00: This, if I'm not mistaken, has George Young in it.
- 37:13SPEAKER_00: I am still wrong.
- 37:15SPEAKER_00: Never mind.
- 37:18SPEAKER_00: He's not he's not on this song.
- 37:19SPEAKER_00: Oh, okay.
- 37:20SPEAKER_00: He's not even in this band.
- 37:21SPEAKER_00: Oh.
- 37:21SPEAKER_00: Uh it was it was a different uh differ different thing.
- 37:25SPEAKER_00: Hold on.
- 37:29SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 37:30SPEAKER_00: I knew it was one of these bands because I, you know, I worked at a radio station that played all this kind of music.
- 37:34SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 37:35SPEAKER_00: And it was this one that he was in.
- 37:41SPEAKER_06: Monday morning feels so far.
- 37:43SPEAKER_00: I know the song too.
- 37:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, this is the easy beats.
- 37:46SPEAKER_06: And by this thing's too many.
- 37:50SPEAKER_00: So this is Angus Young's and Malcolm Young's brother, George Young.
- 37:53SPEAKER_00: He's not singing, I think he's guitar.
- 37:55SPEAKER_00: I think so.
- 38:02SPEAKER_09: And they wrote this song too.
- 38:19SPEAKER_00: Anyway, uh you got me off on a tangent here, which That was fun.
- 38:23SPEAKER_00: Happens all the time.
- 38:24SPEAKER_00: So ACDC's Black and Black is at number four.
- 38:26SPEAKER_00: Led Zeppelin 2.
- 38:27SPEAKER_00: There we go.
- 38:28SPEAKER_00: There it is.
- 38:28SPEAKER_00: Uh number three at uh 12 times Platinum, 12 million records.
- 38:33SPEAKER_00: Um Led Zeppelin's debut album laid the foundation for the future of hard rock.
- 38:37SPEAKER_00: Led Zeppelin 2 built a towering monolith of heavy rifts and psychedelic excursions that proved the band's early success was no fluke.
- 38:45SPEAKER_00: Heartbreaker was on that album.
- 38:48SPEAKER_00: Uh let's see.
- 38:49SPEAKER_00: Van Halen won.
- 38:52SPEAKER_00: 10 million records.
- 38:53SPEAKER_00: Sold.
- 38:54SPEAKER_00: That is at number two.
- 38:55SPEAKER_00: Rock and roll guitar playing has two distinct eras, before Van Halen and after Van Halen.
- 38:59SPEAKER_00: With his two hand tapping, harmonic squeals, and whammy bar dive bombs.
- 39:04SPEAKER_00: Eddie Van Halen revolutionized the medium just as Jimi Hendrix had done a decade earlier.
- 39:08SPEAKER_00: And there we go.
- 39:10SPEAKER_00: Number one is Led Zeppelin IV.
- 39:13SPEAKER_00: Uh critics viewed the folk heavy Led Zeppelin III as a catastrophic misfire upon release.
- 39:18SPEAKER_00: Time has proven them wrong.
- 39:19SPEAKER_00: On Led Zeppelin IV, the band found redemption and crafted one of the greatest and best-selling hard rock albums of all time.
- 39:25SPEAKER_00: Its eight songs run the gamut from pulverizing riff rock, black rock, rock and roll, going uh and then the Battle of Evermore is on that record.
- 39:34SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 39:35SPEAKER_00: Uh and Going to California, one of my favorite uh Led Zeppelins.
- 39:39SPEAKER_09: Now I believe Battle of Evermore was inspired by uh Lord of the Rings.
- 39:43SPEAKER_00: I think you're right.
- 39:44SPEAKER_00: Tolkien.
- 39:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 39:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 39:45SPEAKER_00: I was uh uh doom scrolling the other day, and uh Jack Black's induction into the Kennedy Center honors for Led Zeppelin came up, and he he says he says something like they sing about love, they sing about Vikings, they sing about Vikings in love.
- 40:05SPEAKER_00: It was it was pretty cool.
- 40:07SPEAKER_00: It was pretty cool.
- 40:08SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 40:08SPEAKER_00: So anyway, Led Zeppelin uh four is at number one.
- 40:11SPEAKER_00: That's twenty-four times platinum, twenty four minutes.
- 40:14SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 40:15SPEAKER_00: And that was in uh 1971.
- 40:17SPEAKER_00: So there you go.
- 40:18SPEAKER_09: So I I like the you know, it's mostly the list is mostly Zeppelin.
- 40:23SPEAKER_09: A C D C A C D C well not uh well Def Leppers weren't on there.
- 40:28SPEAKER_00: Hysteria wasn't on there.
- 40:29SPEAKER_09: No, just uh Pyromania.
- 40:31SPEAKER_09: It's mostly AC D C and uh Van Halen.
- 40:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's true.
- 40:35SPEAKER_09: They're the only two bands that had multiple.
- 40:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the reason they didn't put hysteria on because they it was more of a pop album, according to them.
- 40:42SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 40:43SPEAKER_00: The the Pyromania was harder rock.
- 40:45SPEAKER_00: It was, yeah.
- 40:46SPEAKER_00: I get that.
- 40:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 40:47SPEAKER_00: So that's understandable.
- 40:48SPEAKER_00: Uh so there you go.
- 40:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 40:50SPEAKER_00: Uh pretty good uh little list there.
- 40:53SPEAKER_00: Uh I'm excited to try out uh one of these uh one of these other things.
- 40:58SPEAKER_00: Can I try out one of these other things?
- 40:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 40:59SPEAKER_00: Are you ready?
- 41:00SPEAKER_00: I'm ready.
- 41:01SPEAKER_00: Uh we don't we we're only doing an abbreviated uh because well, let's just do this.
- 41:07SPEAKER_03: It's time for everyone's favorite part of the show.
- 41:10SPEAKER_03: With everyone's favorites, O'Brien, Doug, cousin Larry, and yours truly, Miss Judgeness.
- 41:16SPEAKER_03: Judgeness, judgeness.
- 41:18SPEAKER_03: It's time to play mixtape.
- 41:23SPEAKER_00: Thank you, Miss Judgeness.
- 41:25SPEAKER_00: Uh, we do appreciate it.
- 41:26SPEAKER_00: So, yeah, we we did not, because we took a break over Thanksgiving, um, Miss Judgeness doesn't have anything to judge this week.
- 41:33SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 41:34SPEAKER_00: So, but we did pick we did pick a question before we went on break.
- 41:39SPEAKER_00: True.
- 41:39SPEAKER_00: And so we will be uh we will be doing that one.
- 41:43SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 41:44SPEAKER_00: So what is crack comando?
- 41:45SPEAKER_00: Actually, what was the question?
- 41:46SPEAKER_00: Do you remember what the question was the It's right there, I'll read it.
- 41:50SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 41:50SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 41:51SPEAKER_00: Uh the last terrorist crumbles to the floor, crumples to the floor, after a solid roundhouse kick to the face.
- 41:59SPEAKER_00: The flight attendant screams that the pilot just passed out.
- 42:02SPEAKER_00: Time to land the plane.
- 42:04SPEAKER_00: What song plays as you wrestled this metal bird down from 25,000 feet to safety?
- 42:11SPEAKER_00: Alright, so what did Cousin Larry say?
- 42:13SPEAKER_09: Alright, cousin Larry.
- 42:22SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 42:24SPEAKER_09: Cousin Larry says, mixtape.
- 42:26SPEAKER_09: Well, some obvious ones came to mind right away, like Bonnie Tyler's holding out for a hero.
- 42:31SPEAKER_09: But it seemed lame for the situation given it was used in footloose for a stuck shoelace on a tractor.
- 42:37SPEAKER_09: He's got a good point here.
- 42:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he does.
- 42:39SPEAKER_09: Uh Heroes by David Bowie was another one, and Wish I Could Fly Like Superman by the Kinks, although the words of the song don't really apply.
- 42:49SPEAKER_09: I think I have to go with Learn to Fly by the Foo Fighters.
- 42:52SPEAKER_01: Oh wow.
- 42:52SPEAKER_09: Honorable mention goes to There Goes My Hero, also by the Foo Fighters, and Drunk on a Plane by Dirk Bentley.
- 43:07SPEAKER_00: Again, I don't like my choice for this.
- 43:14SPEAKER_00: I love this video.
- 43:15SPEAKER_00: So funny.
- 44:17SPEAKER_00: Alright.
- 44:18SPEAKER_00: What is your choice?
- 44:20SPEAKER_09: I went with Final Countdown, Europe! Just cause I love that.
- 44:32SPEAKER_00: Another great pick.
- 44:37SPEAKER_09: See, this, you know, this this is me getting control of the plane.
- 44:40SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 44:40SPEAKER_09: You know.
- 44:41SPEAKER_09: Oh.
- 44:42SPEAKER_09: Can he do it?
- 44:43SPEAKER_09: Does he know what he's doing?
- 44:44SPEAKER_09: No, but he's gonna do it anyway.
- 44:48SPEAKER_09: There it is.
- 44:51SPEAKER_09: It's hero move time.
- 45:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 45:33SPEAKER_00: Come on.
- 45:34SPEAKER_09: That's when we crash.
- 45:39SPEAKER_00: Well, so the one that I picked, again, I'm not.
- 45:47SPEAKER_00: I'm not I don't know why I picked it.
- 45:50SPEAKER_00: It's the first thing that came to mind.
- 45:52SPEAKER_00: All right.
- 45:52SPEAKER_00: And I did have before you got here, I had another one, and it was better than this one.
- 45:57SPEAKER_00: Um, but I I can't remember what it is.
- 46:01SPEAKER_00: So uh I'll just go with this.
- 46:14SPEAKER_00: Don't bring me down.
- 46:15SPEAKER_08: Yeah, man.
- 46:29SPEAKER_00: Meaning like, don't crash me.
- 46:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 46:31SPEAKER_00: I totally get it, man.
- 46:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, okay, good.
- 46:33SPEAKER_00: I like the word play.
- 46:34SPEAKER_00: Okay, good.
- 47:02SPEAKER_00: I just want us to both to do that one part.
- 47:17SPEAKER_00: I don't even know if that's what he's saying.
- 47:19SPEAKER_09: I don't I don't know what he's saying there, man.
- 47:20SPEAKER_00: It's just it's just sounds like sounds like Bruce.
- 47:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it does.
- 47:23SPEAKER_00: I don't think it is.
- 47:25SPEAKER_00: Okay, so that is uh that is uh my choice.
- 47:28SPEAKER_00: Don't bring me down from ELO, the Electric Light Orchestra.
- 47:31SPEAKER_00: Final countdown from Europe is your choice, and Foo Fighters uh learn to fly is uh cousin Larry's choice.
- 47:38SPEAKER_00: So there you go.
- 47:40SPEAKER_00: All good picks.
- 47:41SPEAKER_00: Yay! So yeah.
- 47:44SPEAKER_00: So we're gonna take a break and we're gonna you're gonna hear some new recordings of commercials.
- 47:50SPEAKER_00: It's the same commercials.
- 47:51SPEAKER_00: Same commercials, but we just we just did them differently.
- 47:54SPEAKER_00: Actually, there's two versions of yours.
- 47:55SPEAKER_00: Oh, is there?
- 47:56SPEAKER_00: But we're just I'm gonna play the version that you've already heard.
- 47:57SPEAKER_00: Oh, okay.
- 47:58SPEAKER_00: Um, and uh yeah.
- 48:01SPEAKER_00: So we'll be back with uh Wall of Tunes in uh in just a second.

- 49:21SPEAKER_09: I mean, you know, other than us.
- 49:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah, this is true.
- 49:23SPEAKER_00: We're the same.
- 49:24SPEAKER_09: All all all we need is like two, like uh, you know, like two like stand-in actors.
- 49:30SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 49:31SPEAKER_09: You know, you get you you we can get like for you, Keith or Sutherland, and me, Horatio Sands, and then have them do the podcast.
- 49:40SPEAKER_09: That's the only way where it's gonna be different.
- 49:42SPEAKER_00: You know what we should do?
- 49:42SPEAKER_00: We should change our cover photo on Facebook to Kiefer Sutherland Horatio Sands.
- 49:48SPEAKER_00: Like do a Photoshop of Brian and Doug.
- 49:51SPEAKER_00: It's Kiefer and Horatio.
- 49:53SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 49:54SPEAKER_00: We should do that.
- 49:54SPEAKER_00: Come on, I think that would be funny.
- 49:56SPEAKER_00: I do too.
- 49:57SPEAKER_00: We can put them on our bodies if you want.
- 49:59SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 50:00unknown: Right?
- 50:01SPEAKER_00: Nobody will know the difference.
- 50:03SPEAKER_00: Not at all.
- 50:04SPEAKER_09: Even those guys, Kiefer Sutherland be looking like wow, when did I start doing a podcast with Horatio Sands?
- 50:11SPEAKER_09: Man, what have I been doing?
- 50:12SPEAKER_09: Why is he calling himself Doug?
- 50:14SPEAKER_09: What is going on?
- 50:16SPEAKER_01: Calls him up.
- 50:17SPEAKER_01: Hey! Alright, so uh yeah, it's time for this.
- 50:22SPEAKER_02: O'Brien and Doug's wall of tune together.
- 50:29SPEAKER_00: And what we're gonna do is I'm just going to play this while I take off my headphones.
- 50:37SPEAKER_00: And I'm gonna go pick from the Wall of Tunes.
- 50:40SPEAKER_00: Alright.
- 50:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah!
- 50:42SPEAKER_09: I'm just gonna just stand here and talk.
- 50:44SPEAKER_09: I don't know what's gonna go on.
- 50:45SPEAKER_09: Who knows what'll happen.
- 50:57SPEAKER_09: You know what I what I I thought about over the over the Thanksgiving break.
- 51:02SPEAKER_09: What's that?
- 51:04SPEAKER_09: I was I was gonna I'm gonna start an OnlyFans.
- 51:10SPEAKER_09: And all it is is gonna be me listening to Rush albums.
- 51:15SPEAKER_00: That's gonna be your OnlyFans?
- 51:17SPEAKER_00: That's gonna be it.
- 51:17SPEAKER_00: Oh, okay.
- 51:18SPEAKER_00: Can we not can we can it not be an OnlyFans?
- 51:21SPEAKER_00: Can it be like a um a uh Well, I I think it'd be a copyright thing.
- 51:27SPEAKER_09: I don't know if I could play like Rush albums over Facebook or something like that.
- 51:31SPEAKER_00: Well no, but I mean like uh what is the um what is the the one that we were gonna oh Patreon.
- 51:38SPEAKER_09: Oh Patreon?
- 51:39SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 51:39SPEAKER_09: Oh we could do it on Patreon.
- 51:40SPEAKER_09: Yeah you can do whatever you want on Patreon.

- 52:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 52:46SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 52:46SPEAKER_00: I I I think you know who this person is.

- 54:07SPEAKER_00: And Eddie Van Halen said, I don't know.
- 54:10SPEAKER_00: Ask this guy.
- 54:11SPEAKER_09: Oh, yeah, I've heard that story, but I can't think of the name.
- 54:13SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 54:14SPEAKER_09: It's not Cochrane.
- 54:16SPEAKER_00: Oh, you're oh, you're close with the last name.
- 54:18SPEAKER_00: It is Cochrane?
- 54:19SPEAKER_00: No, it's not Cochrane, you're close with the last name.
- 54:20SPEAKER_00: Colbert.
- 54:21SPEAKER_00: Yes, what's the first name?
- 54:22SPEAKER_00: Bruce.
- 54:26SPEAKER_01: I knew there was a chance that you get it, because I know you know who it is.
- 54:29SPEAKER_01: I know, yeah, I know Bruce Coburn, yeah.
- 54:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 54:31SPEAKER_01: So, uh, and I don't know, maybe we've done this album.
- 54:34SPEAKER_01: Hard to tell, man.
- 54:35SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 54:37SPEAKER_00: This is Slice of Life, Live Solo, it's a double album?
- 54:41SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 54:42SPEAKER_00: I don't think so.
- 54:42SPEAKER_00: A double live album?
- 54:43SPEAKER_00: I'm not even sure we've done Bruce Coburn.
- 54:46SPEAKER_00: Um, I love Bruce Coburn.
- 54:48SPEAKER_00: Coburn is such a poet and an amazing guitar player.
- 54:54SPEAKER_00: Um I'm trying to think of the best ones to play you.
- 55:00SPEAKER_00: Uh and what did I describe him the right way?
- 55:05SPEAKER_00: He's famous among other artists.
- 55:07SPEAKER_00: He's he's an artist artist.
- 55:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he's a respected among other other artists.

- 55:14SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah, he's big in Canada.
- 55:16SPEAKER_00: But I and the popularity you said like what is you know, when was he the most popular?
- 55:22SPEAKER_00: I think around the late 80s, early 90s, because that was like Lovers in a Dangerous Time.
- 55:27SPEAKER_00: Sure.
- 55:27SPEAKER_00: I think that came out around that.
- 55:30SPEAKER_09: I like the uh bare naked ladies version of that.
- 55:32SPEAKER_09: Did they do a version of that?
- 55:33SPEAKER_09: I did.
- 55:34SPEAKER_09: I I don't think I've ever heard of that.
- 55:36SPEAKER_09: It's on uh shoebox album.
- 55:41SPEAKER_09: Okay.
- 55:41SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I think I think that's the name of it.
- 55:43SPEAKER_09: It's one of their early it's before Gordon.
- 55:46SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 55:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 55:47SPEAKER_00: Um so I want to play I'll just play a few of these.
- 55:51SPEAKER_00: Um a couple.
- 55:54SPEAKER_00: This this came out in 2002.
- 55:56SPEAKER_00: No, that's the singles.
- 55:57SPEAKER_00: Sorry.
- 55:57SPEAKER_00: Uh this is the one I'm looking for.
- 55:59SPEAKER_00: Where is it?
- 56:00SPEAKER_00: Right there.
- 56:02SPEAKER_00: So this is a live album, and it's just him um and then a we have never done Bruce Coburn.
- 56:09SPEAKER_09: Oh, well, that's a crime.
- 56:11SPEAKER_00: So this is that now.
- 56:13SPEAKER_00: This is Lovers in the Dangerous Time.
- 56:15SPEAKER_00: This is just him.
- 56:26SPEAKER_05: Don't the hours grow shorter as the days go by You never get to stop the sky.
- 57:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I just want this just for comparison's sake.
- 57:14SPEAKER_00: Same song.
- 57:15SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 57:20SPEAKER_09: So this definitely has that 80s production.
- 57:23SPEAKER_09: Oh, very much so.
- 57:25SPEAKER_09: Of course, the bare naked ladies version is like more like this, probably.
- 57:29SPEAKER_09: It's a little more It's like a cross between the live version and this.
- 57:34SPEAKER_09: Really?
- 57:35SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 57:36SPEAKER_09: There's like some strings behind it and stuff.
- 57:38SPEAKER_09: It's it's really pretty, it's really well done.
- 57:40SPEAKER_00: I'll have to look for that.
- 57:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 57:43SPEAKER_05: It was on their greatest hits.
- 57:45SPEAKER_00: Well, I must I have thought I had their greatest hits.
- 57:47SPEAKER_00: Maybe I maybe I haven't and I just didn't know.
- 57:49SPEAKER_00: I'm pretty sure it's on that.
- 58:01SPEAKER_00: Alright, so in the early 90s, he came out with uh an album that had this song on it.
- 58:07SPEAKER_00: So this is the acoustic version, Last Night of the World.
- 58:30SPEAKER_09: No.
- 58:32SPEAKER_00: Okay, so this is from the album that I chose.
- 58:35SPEAKER_00: Uh Live Solo, Slice of Life, Live Solo.
- 58:38SPEAKER_00: This is the actual song.
- 58:43SPEAKER_00: I'm only playing this because it's got a groove to it when it when it all comes together.
- 59:01SPEAKER_00: So yeah, Eddie Van Halen.
- 59:03SPEAKER_00: So I don't know, ask Bruce Coburn.
- 59:08SPEAKER_09: That's what I was that's what I always loved about Eddie.
- 59:11SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 59:11SPEAKER_00: You're just so self-deprecating.
- 59:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 59:13SPEAKER_05: It's 3A.
- 59:15SPEAKER_00: I just want to get to the chorus of this song.
- 59:16SPEAKER_00: This is one of my favorite Coburn songs.
- 59:19SPEAKER_05: Blow a fruit fly off the rim of my glass.
- 59:26SPEAKER_05: The radio's playing Super Chunk and the friends of Dean Martinez Midnight it was bike tires bike in the potholes.
- 59:49SPEAKER_05: What in the potholes?
- 59:53SPEAKER_05: Shivering energy glow.

- 1:00:00SPEAKER_05: Between them with barthrop bass and laughter, big chorus.
- 1:00:14SPEAKER_07: This one the world.
- 1:00:22SPEAKER_07: What would I do?
- 1:00:30SPEAKER_07: What would I do?
- 1:00:34SPEAKER_05: It was different.
- 1:00:38SPEAKER_05: Unless it was play with you.
- 1:00:44SPEAKER_00: Very cool.
- 1:00:45SPEAKER_00: Uh Market's on.

- 1:01:32SPEAKER_05: No matter how I squint, I can hunt make out what it's pointing toward.
- 1:01:45SPEAKER_05: Sometimes you feel like you have to love taste only on the case.
- 1:02:11SPEAKER_05: I've proved I am so many times the magnetic strips walk, and each time I was someone else, and everyone was taken Ours chatter in high place in the last of rage.
- 1:02:57SPEAKER_05: Set me to pacing the key.
- 1:02:59SPEAKER_00: You have to hear the whole thing.
- 1:03:00SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna play the whole thing, but it's just it's pure poetry, man.
- 1:03:04SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's it's good stuff.
- 1:03:06SPEAKER_00: And and I like this album because that's all it is, is just him.
- 1:03:11SPEAKER_00: You know, just solo stuff.
- 1:03:12SPEAKER_00: Just just him and a guitar.
- 1:03:14SPEAKER_00: Yep.
