- 0:10[SPEAKER_02]: It's an action, it's something that you're doing so that you can show up as your whole self and give the world the version of you that we'll make an impact, that cannot be bad.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome to the Beat till you see it podcast, where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_02]: I'm also Logan, Ply's instructor, and fit this business coach.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_02]: I've trained thousands of people around the world, and the number one thing I see stopping people from achieving anything is self-doubt.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_02]: My friends, action brings clarity and it's the antidote to fear.
- 0:48[SPEAKER_02]: Each week my guests will bring bold, executable, intrinsic and targeted steps that you can use to put yourself first and be it till you see it.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_02]: It's a practice, not a perfect, let's get started.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome back to the B.A.A.T.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_02]: You see it interview recap for my co-sum life Brad and I are going to dig into the rejuvenating combo I have with Rachel Varga and our last episode.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_02]: If you haven't yet, listen to that episode.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_02]: You need to do it because she's amazing.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_02]: And we've been using her tips.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_02]: And some of them are extremely effective.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_02]: I, and other ones I just haven't tried yet.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_02]: I'm really impressed.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_02]: But today, before getting to Rachel's amazing tips for your rejuvenating means like skin.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_02]: All I have to have.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_02]: Today is November 13th and it is a world kindness day.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, it is.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_02]: Damn it.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_02]: That's what my Papa Jake would say.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_02]: Celebrating like meaning like we're going to do it like that kind of damn it.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, celebrating internationally this holiday was formed in 1998 to promote kindness throughout the world.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_02]: And it's observed annually on November 13th as part of world kindness movement.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_02]: It's observed in many countries including United States, Canada, Japan, Australia, and the UAE.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_02]: Both kind of stay presents us with the opportunity to reflect upon one of the most important unifying human principles.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, just period.
- 2:09[SPEAKER_02]: Period.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_02]: On a day devoted to the positive, potential of both large and small acts of kindness.
- 2:15[SPEAKER_02]: Try to promote and diffuse this crucial quality that brings people of every kind together.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so the world kind of movement tells more Brad the world kind of movement is an organization and they so world the world kind of movement.org if you're interested in reading more I found it really intriguing that this is even a day but I like the idea I just think it's important that we are being conscious of this.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_00]: sharing kindness generally, because I think that in our extreme split, a liticle environment, and belief in science and reality versus non-science and non-reality, it actually creates a lot of frustration.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: It really creates a lot of frustration for me, and this is a good reminder to that we still have to treat people who
- 3:02[SPEAKER_00]: You know, we definitely disagree with, we still have to treat them as humans as people, even if we don't think what they're doing or thinking or saying make sense, they're still humans and we still have to treat them with kindness regardless.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_02]: You know, it's interesting about this is like, we used to when we lived in LA.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_02]: many of our neighbors were homeless right like where we lived and it's so easy I watch people like they turn their head away from homeless people like they just don't even look at them but then they wonder why they're not treating the area like with respect it's like we don't really want human you know you're not looking them in the eye there are simple acts of kindness you can do every day in fact Kim Scott wrote a book
- 3:42[SPEAKER_02]: Love, which you can put kindness in there, your things you can do for people.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_02]: Obviously, that book was written for people going through a loss, but there are things you can do, and it's really funny.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_02]: Art, art, my dad is like he hates talking to people, but then we go to the gym, which is through a casino, and he talks to everybody.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_02]: He knows the name of every security guard.
- 4:04[SPEAKER_02]: He knows the name of every park in attendance.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_02]: Right?
- 4:07[SPEAKER_02]: We now know the names of several dealers at the casino.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_02]: And you know what?
- 4:12[SPEAKER_02]: I think makes them their day is that we just like say hi.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_02]: They're not they're staying there waiting for someone to come to their booth or whatever and we're like morning.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_02]: Good morning.
- 4:20[SPEAKER_02]: It just makes people feel seen.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_02]: Like even just acknowledging people with a eye contact and a wave makes people feel seen.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that if we did more of that, the world will be a better place.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_02]: So I think.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_02]: We, Maslow High degree of Needs is really real.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_02]: Maslow's hierarchy of Needs, it's a hard word for me tonight.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_02]: And we judge people based on like, oh my God, I can't believe they did that, but if they don't know where their food or meal or health care is coming from, of course they did that.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_02]: You are in the enlightened level because you have some privileges to your life.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm not saying that to make you feel bad to be yourself, but it is, we have to stop judging people who have less than us.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_02]: We have to have more kindness.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_00]: I, I mean, you take us through the first half of this list, it's long.
- 5:05[SPEAKER_00]: All right, we're going to move real quick through our upcoming events and travel, y'all.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_00]: So come join us if you, if we're going to be near you.

- 7:19[SPEAKER_02]: And we're going to Brussels with Karen Frischman.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_02]: there are different workshops at each, they are in different days because we cannot be in two places I want it.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_02]: So, if you are interested in Poland, it's going to be the one that happens before Brussels.

- 8:02[SPEAKER_02]: There's your links, they're in the show note.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_02]: Ignacio Rodriguez.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, Ignacio Rodriguez.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_02]: Well, anyways, he is a special soul.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he's a spain.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_02]: I know, he's like a Pilates Buddha.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, he's awesome.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_02]: That's what I like whenever I was around him, I just was like, oh my god, it's the calmest person.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_02]: Like his energy is so calm.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_02]: You cannot be anything but that around him.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_02]: He doesn't listen to his podcast, so he wanted to have that compliment.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_02]: And.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, before we get into Rachel's episode, who, what is our question this week?
- 8:39[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, this week with a question on YouTube from At Body Flex Zone, all about the OPC flashcard deck series.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_00]: They asked, hey, could you possibly include the exo chair and the springboard in your flashcards?
- 8:56[SPEAKER_02]: So, Body Flex Zone, I'm sorry to tell you the news, but this is exciting too, so don't turn it off.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_02]: We're not going to do that.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_01]: Here's why.
- 9:07[SPEAKER_02]: Here's why they are included already.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_02]: How do I explain this?
- 9:12[SPEAKER_02]: I write the cards as a classically trained instructor with classical equipment.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_02]: They are edited by a contemporary trained instructor who has contemporary equipment, including she has an exo chair and was trained on a springboard.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_02]: And the measurements for how to use the hooks on your springboard exist in the
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: So while we are not creating a special deck for the XO chair or a special deck for the springboard date, if you get the chair's deck, the XO chair information would be applicable.
- 9:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it's applicable.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_00]: The information of the chair's deck is applicable to the XO chair.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_00]: And in the same vein, the Cadillac tower deck is applicable.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_00]: It includes information about springboard information.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_02]: Because some springboards have pusher bars, some springboards don't.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_02]: There are cards that will say it's brought like their mark that they might not be available on a tower, which means they're definitely not available on a springboard.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_02]: And so, but also there's a card in each deck on how to use the deck, and it explains if you have an exo chair like how to...
- 10:12[SPEAKER_02]: It doesn't say exo chair specifics like if your chair has four hooks, you're a set of think about it.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_02]: So both decks are very useful and if you get those decks, if you ever have access to a full Cadillac or tower, you have a bunch of cards, you get to use and you don't have to take a special training for it because you've already been trained.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_02]: So you can get our flash cards at opc.me slash flashcards all six decks are out.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, you might want to go into the
- 10:39[SPEAKER_00]: For those of you, we're unable to hear what she said.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_00]: You might want to go to the website during the Black Friday Saturday Monday sale, just to heads up.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_02]: Don't miss it because if you ask us later, no, we're not the, we're only do it for five days.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, sending your questions to the pod, go to be at pod.com slash questions where you can leave a win or a question or you can also text this at 3109055534.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_00]: Stick around.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_00]: We'll be right back.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to dig into this really interesting conversation we have with Rachel Varga all about Rejuvenation.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome back.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_00]: Let's talk about Rachel Varga.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, Rachel is a registered nurse and an aesthetic specialist who's been in the field of non-surgical rejuvenation since 2011.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_00]: She's published research on eye and jawline rejuvenation.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_00]: Teach as doctors and nurses internationally and now blends her expertise with biohacking.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_00]: to help people age well.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_00]: Rachel is the founder of the School of Radiance and also hosts the School of Radiance podcast where she shares how skincare, lifestyle, and self-care can create lasting beauty from the inside out.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_02]: It's, I really enjoyed this because, okay, I have been wanting to have someone an expert like this on for a while, but I didn't want it to be abandoned.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I didn't want people to be like, oh, it's so big.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_02]: You know, like so many people are like, I don't know, raw milking it.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_02]: So they're not going to want to talk about Botox or things like that.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_02]: And I, you know, some people get granola, and they're like, I got to not do anything to my body, but also,
- 12:13[SPEAKER_02]: If something's really like she said, if something is really bothering you, like specific lines or scars or jowls, addressing it is beneficial because oftentimes, if you feel you look better, you feel better.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_02]: And if you feel better, you actually just look better.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_02]: Like if you actually feel good about yourself, you walk around taller, you engage with people in a different way.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_02]: And so it's kind of like a chicken
- 12:37[SPEAKER_02]: And I appreciate her approach.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_02]: If you listen to the episode, it's not like everyone needs Botox.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_02]: There's always something wrong with you.
- 12:45[SPEAKER_02]: No, it's like, okay, what are some of the things that you can do that are non-surgical that actually do work?
- 12:51[SPEAKER_02]: I have, I will say you're gonna want to listen to her second episode, which we're not gonna stop at today.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_02]: But we talk about a lot of things that I'll go waste of your money and waste your time.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_02]: She's very, very intelligent and doesn't waste her time.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_02]: But I do think that what she talked about is people are not viewing, rejuvenation as being vain anymore.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_02]: They're actually seen as a form of self-care.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_02]: And I do think there's a balance of what can we do as part of our self-care routine that makes us feel better about how we look, so we feel better about how we look.
- 13:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, brilliant.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_00]: That's what I was going to say hardcore.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I don't know like here's the thing.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_02]: I really appreciate.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_02]: I forget which actress it was.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_02]: It was that beautiful woman.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_02]: Not, I mean, Diane Lane is beautiful, but she also did one of the fastness areas.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_02]: She's like a Dame gray hair.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_00]: actresses or 10 or 11 fast in the furious movies.
- 13:45[SPEAKER_02]: I know the more of the recent of them and she is like she also was in like a beautiful bathing suit in the tabloids and I was like I want to look at her when I'm 80
- 13:54[SPEAKER_02]: I can't think of everyone's going in their car right now, but you know what I'm talking about?
- 13:58[SPEAKER_02]: She talked about how she said, don't like, she's letting wrinkles happen.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_02]: And I also would like to let those things happen.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_02]: And there are some things that just bother me, and I don't want them to, and they become a distraction for me, being a tysee it.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_02]: So I do think that if how you look as affecting how you're operating your day, there is a point where you do need to actually address, like, what is going on here?
- 14:22[SPEAKER_02]: Because it's becoming an obstacle.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_02]: I'll look it up while you say what you loved.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so one thing I thought was important was this conversation of Helen Mirin.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_00]: That was really fast and I'm very impressed.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_02]: You know what I looked up?
- 14:35[SPEAKER_02]: I said, older actress, stunning, fast in the theories.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_02]: She's the top, I'm so stargized.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_00]: I'm way too high in deep.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_00]: Helen Mirin.
- 14:46[SPEAKER_00]: I started with fast in the theories and I was like, there's so many actors.
- 14:49[SPEAKER_02]: You gotta go with my way.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I just thought I wanted to comment about what you had said about what your topic was that we beat ourselves up over this idea that we're going to like focusing on how we look is somehow wrong right and I and I think that.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_02]: But then also everything, your entire life is based on how you look.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_02]: You know, like, we're told not to focus on how we look.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_02]: However, especially if you are raised as a woman in the church, how you look could make your brother stumble.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_02]: See, better figure that out.
- 15:28[SPEAKER_02]: But then also, you better be sexy for your husband or he's gonna wander.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_02]: And then, oh, if you look too old, you're not gonna get the job because they don't want an older woman.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_02]: Like,
- 15:37[SPEAKER_02]: Like, so there's all this stuff about how we're not supposed to care how we look, but actually everything is about how we look and if you're a dude you just get fucking hotter as you get older and it's really annoying.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I love that you took all the words right out of my mouth.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_00]: And so here's what I was gonna say is that I think it's important to that when we are holding ourselves to this idea that feeling like we want to care about how we look is wrong somehow, what she mentioned was confidence.
- 16:08[SPEAKER_00]: And I like that because I thought, hey, why do we
- 16:13[SPEAKER_00]: buy a nice shirt or buy some dress shoes for the office because we like the way that we look in those and it gives us this idea that we got it together.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know why we would think that it's okay to buy a nice blouse or blazer or choose, but not do the same thing for our face or our skin care or our weight or our working out or whatever food we eat or the yeah yeah the things that we do to make ourselves feel good I agree.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_02]: I think that makes a lot of sense.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 16:49[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, anyway, my point is that.
- 16:52[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's okay.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's okay.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_02]: I hear something.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_02]: I really have come to a place where it's like, if the thing that you do for yourself doesn't affect anyone else negatively, it's none of my fucking business.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, here's, here's, let's actually start with because I'm logical.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_00]: Let's actually start with the definition of vanity.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, let's do that.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_00]: Excessive pride.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_00]: Well, excessive pride in or admiration of one's own appearance or achievements, excessive pride, right?
- 17:22[SPEAKER_00]: So walk it around till everyone, I was so fucking stunning.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_00]: I'm so amazing.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_00]: Look how awesome I am.
- 17:26[SPEAKER_00]: Look up beautiful.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_00]: I am, right?
- 17:28[SPEAKER_00]: That is vanity.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_00]: But giving a shit about how you look is not vanity.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_00]: I think that we've conflated this idea and we beat ourselves up.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_02]: Brad, you're fucking brilliant.
- 17:39[SPEAKER_02]: It's like the word self-ish.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_02]: Like how self-care has become self-ish-care.
- 17:44[SPEAKER_02]: Like the fact that you'd spend any extra amount of time thinking about yourself.
- 17:48[SPEAKER_02]: Instead of your children and the people you work for, the people you do things for, the people you love, like that selfish.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_02]: This is amazing.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_02]: And I do love this because, okay, Amy Cutty, whose TED Talk is where the title is podcast came from.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_02]: And if anyone knows her, I would love that interview.
- 18:03[SPEAKER_02]: But she talked about how she does study about the power stance, the Wonder Woman stance.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_02]: When you do it for five minutes, you actually appear and feel more confident in an interview.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_02]: They did a literal scientific study.
- 18:15[SPEAKER_02]: And they had people not stand in a power stance and sit slumped for five minutes, bad posture.
- 18:20[SPEAKER_02]: And then go in and then they asked them how confident you feel.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_02]: They asked the interviewers, how confident did they seem?
- 18:25[SPEAKER_02]: Did they appear?
- 18:26[SPEAKER_02]: you figuring out what rejuvenation and as a form of self-care that works for you, which is very different that works for me, very different that anyone else.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_02]: That is like standing the power stance.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_02]: It's an action.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_02]: It's something that you're doing so that you can show up as your whole self and give the world the version of you that will make an impact.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_02]: That cannot be bad.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_02]: I'm in.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I think that, you know, when we have confidence, obviously it allows us to deliver our, you know, purpose and life better.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_00]: It makes us enjoy what we're doing more.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_00]: It definitely just changes the way we show up in our community and the way that we see ourselves.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, and the world sees that too, you know, when we put effort into ourselves, we show the world that we are valuable because we value ourselves.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_01]: Mm-hmm.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that is also important, is that belief in yourself, right?
- 19:21[SPEAKER_00]: The knowledge that you are worthy, even though it seems internal, it is very visible to other people.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_00]: When you know that you belong there to do the thing, you know, or you believe you belong there to do the thing, other people perceive that.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_00]: They pick up on that.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_02]: Well, yeah, and also like, and just to, I'm going to tell you on your points, we're talking about this.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_02]: We were talking about, we were talking about, Rejuvenation Way that looks natural and feels good that builds confidence.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_02]: We're not talking about, like, go over, do it.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_02]: We know the people who look like they were overdone, you know, like, you know, we're not talking about getting a new face, like the Kardashian mom, and it's, we're not
- 20:00[SPEAKER_02]: massaging your face or the type that money you spend on the moisturizer that makes you feel good.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_02]: Like these are, we're talking non-surgical approaches.
- 20:09[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 20:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 20:11[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, I think because we think that self-care equals vanity, that's where we're going wrong.
- 20:18[SPEAKER_00]: But when we can separate the two and understand that vanity is excessive,
- 20:23[SPEAKER_00]: you know, celebration of your beauty or your achievements, that is obtuse, that is a thing.
- 20:31[SPEAKER_00]: That is like, you don't want to listen, you don't want to be around somebody like that.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_00]: We all know people like that.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_02]: There's the song, you're so vain, you probably think the song is about you.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_02]: That is a definition.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_00]: But when you care about yourself, you know, it's okay to put yourself first and make that part of your self-care routine and
- 20:49[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I also think, I'm not going to hit you up.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_02]: I'm so sorry.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_02]: This is our ADHD problem.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_02]: I think if something is keeping you from showing up and making an impact in your world, and it has to with your looks, it is not vain or selfish.
- 21:03[SPEAKER_02]: Do something about it.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_02]: If that thing is keeping you from actually showing up as your whole self to make the impact you so desire to make.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_02]: the world is missing out.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_00]: A great example would be braces, or in viseline, or even like surgical surgery and or teeth.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_00]: Like it comes across as like a crazy expense sometimes, but, you know, night and day difference.
- 21:29[SPEAKER_00]: We've had, I've had a really close friend of mine growing up who had surgery in his twenties, and he smiles now.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know, and I remember seeing the difference in him because he never he he was no longer judging himself.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you know, I watched something where this girl every time she's smiling, she or laugh out loud.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, but her hand in front of her mouth.
- 21:56[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, because she went people to say her teeth.
- 21:58[SPEAKER_02]: And then through this one organization, they fix them and no one would say that she's being fucking vain.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_02]: No one would.
- 22:05[SPEAKER_00]: And because we're not surgery, that was surgery.
- 22:08[SPEAKER_00]: And we're this episode we're not necessarily talking about.
- 22:10[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but like in Vizaline.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_00]: But in Vizaline.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_02]: Braces, if it's going to make you smile little brighter going back to World Kindest Day and making people feel seen, I would hate for someone to not
- 22:23[SPEAKER_02]: get the joy from your smart when people smile at me, I'm like, oh, hi, like it just brightens your tail.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_02]: Like it snaps you out of the world when that's in your mind.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_02]: And I just, I was really excited to have her on because I thought it was a really honest conversation about inner beauty and what would make us feel good.
- 22:39[SPEAKER_02]: And I just don't think there's anything wrong.
- 22:42[SPEAKER_02]: And I think it's really important you hear this.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_02]: There is nothing wrong with doing things for yourself that make you feel beautiful.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_02]: And if you were ever told that focusing on what makes you feel
- 22:53[SPEAKER_02]: There's some deconstruction and some, I really, when we took my eyelashes, my fake eyelashes off, it was really hard for me.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_02]: It was extremely hard.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't look the same anymore.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_02]: I did do a lot of self-talk, but I went to Sephora literally the next day.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_02]: I was like, you have to help me.
- 23:11[SPEAKER_02]: I look like a mole rat.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_02]: And that is an actual thing that exists, and yes, I did look like a mole rat if you look it up, but I she taught me to okay the best makeup starts with the best skin care for you she said to me and that's what Rachel's also talk about the non surgical approaches.
- 23:29[SPEAKER_02]: And then the second thing is, by that girl teaching me a couple tricks with makeup, I could show up and do my tour as my whole self and a non-destracted way because I was like, oh my god, people are going to be staring at me, talk about the braces and the weird things.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_00]: Sure.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_02]: I have no eyelashes.
- 23:46[SPEAKER_02]: But that is not what people are used to seeing, okay?
- 23:49[SPEAKER_02]: So I just think that like, I believe it because I felt it.
- 23:53[SPEAKER_02]: I've been there.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_02]: I've been there when you're like, oh my god, my face is not from the dentist.
- 23:57[SPEAKER_02]: Like I don't even see me.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_02]: If things like that are keeping you from showing up on a daily basis, you owe it to yourself and the people that you can impact on this world to find some way to feel that natural confidence by taking care of yourself.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_02]: So that's what I think.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_00]: Alright, awesome.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I think we've we've talked through that pretty exhaustively.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_02]: Let's talk about it.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_00]: Stick around.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_00]: We'll be right back.
- 24:17[SPEAKER_00]: We have some more tips from Rachel in the be it action items.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_00]: We'll be right back.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome back.
- 24:23[SPEAKER_00]: Finally, let's talk about those be it action items.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_00]: What bold executable intrinsic or targeted action items can we take away from your combo with Rachel Varga.
- 24:32[SPEAKER_00]: She said, hey, high protein and creatine, right?
- 24:36[SPEAKER_00]: High protein intake, one gram to one and a half grams of protein per pound of body weight.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_00]: Now, you probably heard Leslie mentioned this a lot.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_00]: She definitely is on board with this.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_02]: She said, it's so hard.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_02]: Just be kind to yourself.
- 24:48[SPEAKER_00]: It's hard, but but you know, there's there are ways and actually a lot of it had to do with changing the food that we're eating for example, I had a high protein bagel today, you know, and you know, it was I don't even know it was a lot of protein for a bagel and so they're, you know, eggs and
- 25:03[SPEAKER_02]: We're not sponsored by them, but hi Owen, they have a 32 gram protein shake and it's only what you need.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_02]: There's nothing weird about it.
- 25:12[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure like, look, the biohackers would not like the retirement process food, but it takes time to switch your diet around and if you're trying to do this, it does take time.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_02]: So pick on me all the day and kind of work your way towards her.
- 25:24[SPEAKER_02]: But I wanted to say, I fucking love that her be an actions have nothing to do with like
- 25:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, because it's just like your your your Sephora experience, she said the best way to fix your eyelashes is your skin care.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_00]: So in this case, Rachel's talking about high protein and creatine because when you she started lifting heavy and focusing on high protein, it gave her more inner power activation.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_00]: And that was great for her skin.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_02]: So that's that's and there's toned ladies who are listening.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_02]: We have a lot of Perry Minipausal women.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_02]: There's a ton of research on doubling up on that creatine.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_00]: And she also talked about collagen because collagen will also help your skin.
- 26:11[SPEAKER_00]: I was telling my face.
- 26:13[SPEAKER_00]: You're watching YouTube, you can laugh along with me.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_02]: I've been doing collagen since, like, religiously since 2016, because in 2015, I did a test in the guys like, you have no collagen.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_02]: And then a year later, I did the test.
- 26:23[SPEAKER_02]: He's like, okay, so you're off the charts in collagen.
- 26:25[SPEAKER_02]: And I was like, is that a bad thing?
- 26:27[SPEAKER_02]: Should I slow it down?
- 26:28[SPEAKER_02]: And he's like, I think you could be okay.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_02]: And I have not slowed it down.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_00]: So we've got a call to action for you here.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_00]: If you want to go to the school of radiance.com, the school of radiance.com, you can use a promo code Leslie Logan 1.5, LESLIY, Logan 1.5.

- 26:52[SPEAKER_00]: That is a checklist, her skin care checklist, and it's available on her site.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_02]: And also like the pain where you live is seasoned change.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_02]: You're skin care routine has to as well.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_00]: OK. What about you?
- 27:00[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, another interesting non meds-related being actually on which is I just want to love her, right?
- 27:07[SPEAKER_02]: Like you don't like it doesn't have to always be like get this much closer.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_02]: She recommended breath work, specifically during exercise to keep corner saw down and remain in a pair of sympathetic, resting digest state which helps slow aging and college and loss.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_02]: So this is what I love because in the bite like people are going to try to sell you stuff all the time and this is fucking free.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_02]: So breathe in for four seconds.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_02]: Hold it for four seconds.
- 27:34[SPEAKER_02]: Exhale for four seconds.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_02]: I do that four to five times.
- 27:39[SPEAKER_02]: By the way, it's called box breathing as well.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_02]: And she explains that elevated cortisol results in a drop in estrogen when estrogen falls, called an elastin fall, two.
- 27:48[SPEAKER_02]: So you wanna breathe.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_02]: because it's going to help slowly your aging down.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_02]: And that costs zero dollars.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, she said that you two were specifically talking about lifting in the gym.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_00]: And she said, the guys will try to spike their cortisol.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_00]: And she said, I don't want to do that.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, also, and I know there's a, and I, being a woman today, it's like, what do they listen to?
- 28:09[SPEAKER_02]: Look, keeping your cortisol down is always going to be a good thing, especially if you're in parameda pause or post, it'll help your sleep, which is going to help you
- 28:17[SPEAKER_02]: age better.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_02]: But also, when you're doing Pilates, this is something that people struggle with.
- 28:23[SPEAKER_02]: You got to breathe in and out through your nose, because that keeps you cool.
- 28:26[SPEAKER_02]: It keeps you calm.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_02]: It keeps you grounded.
- 28:28[SPEAKER_02]: It keeps that cortisol down, which helps you age slower.
- 28:31[SPEAKER_02]: I love this.
- 28:32[SPEAKER_02]: She's coming back because I was like, oh my god, I didn't get to all the tools like do I need to buy this or to buy this or anybody this and she is going to change your life with that.
