- 5:00Speaker 4: she's had to probably hear hunt yap about it for
- 5:02Speaker 4: a couple of days.
- 5:03Speaker 3: That's true, it's.
- 5:05Speaker 6: A fair point. Yeah, just a nice breakdown.

- 5:18Speaker 3: not even close.
- 5:20Speaker 5: It looks the same on camera, but they are different shades.
- 5:23Speaker 4: They are both Pancho, they are they are both the
- 5:26Speaker 4: same hoodie.
- 5:28Speaker 3: Just because like they might look the same under these
- 5:32Speaker 3: uh studio lights from you line, but they're not. You
- 5:39Speaker 3: got some good stuff that was not a shot at
- 5:41Speaker 3: you line changed everything.
- 5:45Speaker 5: Yeah, they're super bright, super bright.

- 5:59Speaker 3: it was yesterday. Yes, today it was craph Like I
- 6:02Speaker 3: don't like friend of friend teammates to teammate. You gotta
- 6:06Speaker 3: call it, you gotta gotta be there. I can't just
- 6:10Speaker 3: tell you the positive. Gotta be constructive. Yeah, energy is low.
- 6:14Speaker 3: We'll see how long it lasts. Well you got it.
- 6:17Speaker 6: Yeah, it's what's Friday, you know you see the finish line.

- 6:26Speaker 3: Your energy sucked.
- 6:28Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean I'm doing the four hour show in
- 6:30Speaker 4: the afternoon and just a lot going on professionally, so
- 6:35Speaker 4: you know, a lot of stress.
- 6:37Speaker 3: Fine, if you think about it, it's not big man.
- 6:42Speaker 3: Don't sweat the small stuff pretty big and the next
- 6:47Speaker 3: part of that saying is everything small stuff big picture.
- 6:50Speaker 6: Okay, never heard that one. Ye, thank you for enlightening me.
- 6:56Speaker 3: You're we're welcome. Where's the libby? That's what the small

- 7:21Speaker 4: just you know the extra hour AnyWho, No, it cares
- 7:23Speaker 4: about that.
- 7:24Speaker 3: How you doing? You should get one of those uh
- 7:26Speaker 3: those little walking treadmills that's UNDERDSK treadmills.
- 7:29Speaker 5: Oh you should.
- 7:30Speaker 4: I wanted that, But I don't think you can, like
- 7:34Speaker 4: you can work and do that like you can give
- 7:37Speaker 4: like a zoom meeting and do that, But I don't
- 7:41Speaker 4: know that you can host a radio show doing that.
- 7:47Speaker 6: No, just uh, I got a big old feet and
- 7:49Speaker 6: it's just doing this.
- 7:51Speaker 3: Yeah you hit it a break.
- 7:53Speaker 5: Yeah I could.
- 7:54Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah. They also have those under desk like uh,
- 7:58Speaker 3: little petals like riding a bike. Not really, but like
- 8:03Speaker 3: you just pad a little bit. Yeah it would be
- 8:04Speaker 3: that would be pretty quiet.
- 8:07Speaker 6: While am I working out again?
- 8:10Speaker 3: Stops you if I'm getting tired, I don't. I'm just trying
- 8:15Speaker 3: to help buddy, trying to help the NFL listeners out there.
- 8:20Speaker 4: Oh, they're getting the takes. To worry about that getting
- 8:23Speaker 4: those takes, Huh, I'm getting. I love that they are.
- 8:28Speaker 3: I got a good NFL take for you today, not
- 8:30Speaker 3: this segment. See these notes. Green and pink today. The
- 8:36Speaker 3: green and pink are today the most I've ever seen
- 8:40Speaker 3: on that paper I read. I can't read that chicken scratch, Olandra,
- 8:45Speaker 3: how you doing doing great? The bangs hair done on
- 8:49Speaker 3: a Friday, It's.
- 8:50Speaker 5: Actually not done. The bangs are the only thing that
- 8:53Speaker 5: are done. The last two days. My hair was done.
- 8:56Speaker 5: I had it straight right now, I washed it, so
- 8:58Speaker 5: it's not straight anymore affair.
- 9:00Speaker 3: That's that's the only thing that you can see in
- 9:01Speaker 3: front of the just the bank, the headphones.
- 9:04Speaker 5: Yeah yeah, sometimes I don't feel like doing.
- 9:06Speaker 6: Them feels like a commitment.
- 9:10Speaker 3: Literally, they don't have to do anything. Yeah, yeah, it.
- 9:12Speaker 6: Feels like bans are like it's a commitment.
- 9:14Speaker 3: And so I had.
- 9:16Speaker 5: Them for a while, like a couple of years ago.
- 9:20Speaker 5: Maybe I had them for a while and then I
- 9:23Speaker 5: grew them out because I was like over it, and
- 9:25Speaker 5: then I got current banks, and now I'm back to
- 9:27Speaker 5: these people care about.
- 9:29Speaker 3: I feel like the bangs are kind of like a
- 9:31Speaker 3: full brimmed cap or hat or a fanny pack or
- 9:35Speaker 3: something like that, Like you either wear it or they
- 9:38Speaker 3: wear you.
- 9:39Speaker 6: Yeah, you gotta wear it.
- 9:40Speaker 3: Yeah, gotta wear with confidence.
- 9:42Speaker 5: Oh yeah, I wear bangs. They don't wear me.
- 9:47Speaker 3: Like you got to. You have to wear with confidence.
- 9:49Speaker 3: You got to own it because you'll get owned yeah
- 9:53Speaker 3: real fast. Kind of like you know, that's what I say.
- 9:55Speaker 3: A full brimmed cap for a guy, A full brim
- 9:58Speaker 3: like Cam Newton hats.
- 10:00Speaker 6: Oh okay, but I feel like.
- 10:02Speaker 3: We Cam Newton like crazy hats for guys. They could
- 10:07Speaker 3: wear you real fast, right if you don't own it.
- 10:10Speaker 3: You got to own that hat.
- 10:11Speaker 5: I know Cam owns it, but I still feel like
- 10:14Speaker 5: the hats wear him. They're ridiculous.
- 10:17Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 10:18Speaker 5: And then he cuts the hole off the top of them.
- 10:21Speaker 3: I don't know, but like you ever seen like one
- 10:23Speaker 3: of those hats on like a beta male. Yeah, true,
- 10:29Speaker 3: Like it doesn't look good. You're like, no, take that
- 10:31Speaker 3: hat off.
- 10:33Speaker 5: Your dork, or like the paper boy hats.
- 10:35Speaker 3: The paper boy hats doesn't look good.
- 10:36Speaker 6: But but paper like the peaky blinder hat.
- 10:39Speaker 3: Yeah, you could tell. The guys that walk down the
- 10:41Speaker 3: street that wear him, You're like, they're owning it. They're
- 10:45Speaker 3: wearing a confidence and those guys that aren't real sure
- 10:47Speaker 3: about it. But a beta's friend of their wife made
- 10:50Speaker 3: to put it on. And I don't know.
- 10:52Speaker 5: I'm kind of like, wait, that's like hipsters, like hipsters.
- 10:57Speaker 6: What it's time changed this week?
- 11:00Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 11:00Speaker 5: You spring forward, which is good. I love spring forward
- 11:05Speaker 5: more sunly.
- 11:06Speaker 3: You need you that extra hour sleep.
- 11:08Speaker 4: So what he's trying to say, Oh, oh, well, it's
- 11:13Speaker 4: not a well, it's not a well you have to
- 11:16Speaker 4: deal with me on Monday.
- 11:19Speaker 5: On Sunday.
- 11:22Speaker 3: I think it goes springs back to normal time, right.
- 11:25Speaker 5: No daylight savings is I don't know, don't I don't know.
- 11:30Speaker 3: Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe an hour on normal time. This
- 11:33Speaker 3: is an hours sleep. Oh boy, here we go. Hey,
- 11:38Speaker 3: do you have any like sad violin music to play?
- 11:41Speaker 3: Right now?
- 11:45Speaker 5: You can get it.
- 11:46Speaker 3: It's okay, it's not a big deal. No, just want
- 11:48Speaker 3: to play.
- 11:49Speaker 5: It right here, not off the top of my head.
- 11:50Speaker 3: Now, okay, buddy, we're just having this good conversation about
- 11:54Speaker 3: hats wearing people and then.
- 11:58Speaker 5: Sad killed your vibe.
- 12:03Speaker 3: Oh, Jake, tell me about that sleep you're gonna miss.
- 12:08Speaker 5: It's an hour.
- 12:09Speaker 3: It's an hour.
- 12:10Speaker 5: An hour gone, yeah, it is.
- 12:14Speaker 4: It's an hour that I'll never ever get to achieve
- 12:18Speaker 4: the rest that I had when I had the hour.
- 12:20Speaker 3: I do know that sleep professionals say that you can't
- 12:22Speaker 3: ever make up sleep that you miss. You can't get
- 12:24Speaker 3: it back. You can try, but you're not going to
- 12:27Speaker 3: get it back. I don't like, like Bain, Well, it'll
- 12:34Speaker 3: be dark in the morning. It's starting to get light
- 12:35Speaker 3: when I leave the house now. Just adopted the dark.
- 12:38Speaker 6: I was molded in it.
- 12:43Speaker 3: Oh no, this extra hour of talking got you like
- 12:46Speaker 3: all frazzled. Well, I hope that you're okay, get it together.
- 12:54Speaker 3: I hope that's going to be all right. You're acting
- 12:56Speaker 3: like if a door would absolutely.
- 12:57Speaker 6: Where you right now, or would wear you where would
- 13:01Speaker 6: wear you?
- 13:02Speaker 5: Don't put one on because it's not gonna look look
- 13:05Speaker 5: like a Jason Man. Oh yeah, Jason raz That fedora
- 13:11Speaker 5: was wearing.
- 13:12Speaker 6: Him, honestly, Like I kind of made it his thing though,
- 13:15Speaker 6: Like you.
- 13:15Speaker 3: Put that guy what's his name, the guy that played
- 13:17Speaker 3: Tommy Tommy.
- 13:18Speaker 6: Shelby Killian Murphy, Murphy.
- 13:21Speaker 3: You put him in like a different role in.
- 13:23Speaker 4: Respect to that guy, just one best actor, incredibly handsome.
- 13:29Speaker 3: Put him in a different role where he's got to
- 13:31Speaker 3: play a beta male and he's not looking good in
- 13:35Speaker 3: the Fedora, but you make him act like Tommy Shelby.
- 13:38Speaker 3: My god, I can't see him anything else, think about it.
- 13:48Speaker 3: I'd rather just see him in the other hat. Mhmm.
- 13:52Speaker 6: Rather the paper boy had Yeah, what other have? The
- 13:58Speaker 6: paper paper.
- 14:01Speaker 3: With the razor blade in it. Yeah, That's what I'm
- 14:03Speaker 3: talking about. You said for door, I meant, I meant paperway. Well,
- 14:08Speaker 3: you screwed this up, all right, We'll get to like
- 14:10Speaker 3: sports and stuff. I think I complain in about an
- 14:12Speaker 3: hour of sleep. Never seen You've never come off so weak.
- 14:18Speaker 4: I don't care. I'm not this week. We'll see it
- 14:25Speaker 4: in a little bit. I want to break.

- 17:28Speaker 4: off of Jefferson Highway here in Baton Rouge Go flowiv
- 17:31Speaker 4: dot com.
- 17:32Speaker 3: Friday's uh heck of a day to go get an IV,
- 17:36Speaker 3: especially if you've never done it before. Go see how
- 17:38Speaker 3: good it makes you feel. It's called like a little
- 17:41Speaker 3: proactive hydration, little proactive vitamin getting ready for the weekend,
- 17:45Speaker 3: especially if you got maybe a little party happening, maybe
- 17:47Speaker 3: a little hangout, maybe a little ladies night, fellas night,
- 17:50Speaker 3: whatever it is. Maybe go go be proactive. Go get
- 17:52Speaker 3: you an IV right there, go flow IV right on

- 18:01Speaker 3: an IV, be be in and out about thirty forty
- 18:04Speaker 3: five minutes. It's awesome, it really is. That's not just
- 18:08Speaker 3: slip service. Get hydrated, to get vitamin as a go
- 18:10Speaker 3: flow ivy.
- 18:11Speaker 4: All right, as we get the show started, and we
- 18:13Speaker 4: are going to do so with Cam Jordan being a
- 18:17Speaker 4: free agent when the new league year begins next week,
- 18:23Speaker 4: Cam gonna be a free agent for the first time
- 18:27Speaker 4: in his career. He has played fifteen seasons and he
- 18:31Speaker 4: is a Saints franchise sac leader.
- 18:34Speaker 3: He did that years ago. He has one hundred and
- 18:36Speaker 3: thirty two career sex.
- 18:37Speaker 4: As we all know, his contract is automatically void if
- 18:43Speaker 4: he does not have a new deal in place before the.
- 18:45Speaker 3: New league year.
- 18:46Speaker 4: Begins at four pm Eastern Time on Wednesday, So if
- 18:51Speaker 4: that happens, as Saints will absorb eighteen point seven to
- 18:55Speaker 4: six million of dead money against their twenty twenty six
- 18:57Speaker 4: salary cap. If the Saints eye him to a new
- 19:00Speaker 4: contract after that deadline, the dead money from the previous
- 19:05Speaker 4: contract and any money from the new contract would both
- 19:08Speaker 4: count against the salary cap. Now, if you remember, we
- 19:13Speaker 4: were reworked his contract last year, so it decreased his
- 19:18Speaker 4: base pay while adding some incentives for sacks and playing time.
- 19:23Speaker 4: Cam did max out those incentives of two million dollars
- 19:25Speaker 4: for sacks and finished the season with ten and a
- 19:28Speaker 4: half sacks, and that's the most he's had since the
- 19:30Speaker 4: twenty twenty one season. He mentioned in January, So go
- 19:35Speaker 4: back a couple of months that he ain't doing that again.
- 19:38Speaker 4: So no more similar deal as he had a year
- 19:41Speaker 4: ago with incentives. He crushed those incentives and had ten
- 19:44Speaker 4: and a half sacks. So it's looked like it in
- 19:48Speaker 4: the past before. There's been times where it's like, man,
- 19:50Speaker 4: I don't know, Man, okay, this is going to be
- 19:53Speaker 4: it for Cam in New Orleans.
- 19:54Speaker 6: I know he said he wants to finish in New Orleans.
- 19:57Speaker 3: But with him having ten and.
- 19:59Speaker 4: A half sacks, he feels like he's owed much more
- 20:02Speaker 4: than anything. It feels like the Saints are willing to
- 20:04Speaker 4: offer and we could see Cam Jordan leave New Orleans
- 20:08Speaker 4: and finish his career somewhere else.
- 20:10Speaker 3: Yeah, and he's and from his side of things, he's
- 20:14Speaker 3: certainly right. From the Saint side of things, that's, yeah,
- 20:16Speaker 3: you're being ultra productive, and you've been a fantastic face
- 20:20Speaker 3: for our franchise and an ambassador for the Saints and
- 20:23Speaker 3: a great player and someone that's certainly overachieved every contract.
- 20:28Speaker 3: They're probably also saying, you know, we got to give
- 20:30Speaker 3: contracts to what you're going to do, not what you did.
- 20:33Speaker 3: And it's fifteen year vet, right, fifteen years, So how
- 20:38Speaker 3: many more elite years does he have? I mean, we
- 20:40Speaker 3: said the same thing for a couple of guys with
- 20:42Speaker 3: the Saints this year on defense who just keep on playing,
- 20:45Speaker 3: keep on playing like they're twenty five. And so I
- 20:50Speaker 3: think Saints fans, of course, you would want him to
- 20:54Speaker 3: put on that uniform. And it just because he's going
- 20:56Speaker 3: to test free agency doesn't mean he's not going to
- 20:58Speaker 3: be a Saint this year. Let's go ahead. He didn't
- 21:01Speaker 3: say I'm leaving the Saints. I'm gonna test this free
- 21:03Speaker 3: agent mark. I've never done it before. Let's see what
- 21:06Speaker 3: we're gonna get. I don't like what's being offered. I
- 21:08Speaker 3: don't know what else is out there, but I feel
- 21:10Speaker 3: like my production is still at a level that I
- 21:12Speaker 3: can garner more money and get more of what I
- 21:16Speaker 3: believe I deserve. Now, somebody is worth something that whatever
- 21:22Speaker 3: somebody's gonna pay for, that's the value. So we will see,
- 21:25Speaker 3: we will see what when that league year opens, what
- 21:28Speaker 3: other teams really think of camp Jordan, And maybe not
- 21:31Speaker 3: of what they think of him, because I think he's
- 21:33Speaker 3: very well thought of. I'm just saying about future production, what.
- 21:36Speaker 6: They believe in the NFL in Sacks.
- 21:38Speaker 3: I mean, it's incredible, it's incredible what that guy's doing.
- 21:40Speaker 3: Fifteen years into the league.
- 21:42Speaker 4: He had more than Max Crosby, he had more than
- 21:44Speaker 4: Chase Young, he had more than Bradley Chubb, he had
- 21:47Speaker 4: more than Leatu Latu, Josh Hines, Allen Dallas, Turner yea.
- 21:55Speaker 3: And not only that production, but what he gives to
- 21:58Speaker 3: you in the locker room as well. TJ. Watt. Yeah,
- 22:03Speaker 3: and I don't know. I mean, I like Nick under
- 22:05Speaker 3: how would be way more suited to tell us about
- 22:08Speaker 3: like what the Saints should be able to afford and
- 22:11Speaker 3: how they can fit him. It's easy to see you
- 22:13Speaker 3: the Saints paying whatever you need to. It's came Jordan.
- 22:15Speaker 3: It's easy to say that from our seats because there's
- 22:20Speaker 3: always gymnastics that you can do with the salary cap.
- 22:22Speaker 4: But in Saints have I mean you go back two days,
- 22:24Speaker 4: they were eleven million over and now.
- 22:26Speaker 3: They got twenty to spend.
- 22:27Speaker 4: They restructure Chase Young's deal, which we'll get to in
- 22:29Speaker 4: a little bit, so they've got money to spend.
- 22:32Speaker 3: We would love to see him in the Saints uniform.
- 22:34Speaker 3: We love to see him continue there, but he's going
- 22:36Speaker 3: to test the waters. And I say good for him.
- 22:38Speaker 3: I mean I especially guys that have been such a
- 22:42Speaker 3: good ambassador for you, a good leader like we. Youve
- 22:46Speaker 3: got to hope the best for those guys at some
- 22:47Speaker 3: point in your career, like man, go get yours, go
- 22:50Speaker 3: get like what you deserve, Go get everything that you've earned.
- 22:54Speaker 3: And maybe that is still with the Saints. We will
- 22:56Speaker 3: see maybe the market for a thirty six year old
- 22:59Speaker 3: fifteen going into sixteenth year, Like Vetter, maybe that market
- 23:03Speaker 3: won't command what's somebody like, uh, Trey Henderson. Trey Henderson
- 23:08Speaker 3: will command like which just because of an age thirty one? Yeah,
- 23:12Speaker 3: I believe it will be thirty one.
- 23:13Speaker 4: During the season, Camp's quote was, the Saints have done
- 23:16Speaker 4: nothing but show that they want me to be here
- 23:20Speaker 4: now at what price? Some would say half off this
- 23:24Speaker 4: last year. Can't do that again was the exact quote
- 23:28Speaker 4: when he said.
- 23:28Speaker 3: I think we can all understand that, we we canna
- 23:30Speaker 3: all get it now. You don't want like as a player,
- 23:34Speaker 3: especially when you are established and you've shown here and
- 23:37Speaker 3: you're out. You're a hell of a teammate, a hell
- 23:40Speaker 3: of a ambassador for your city, your franchise. Like you
- 23:45Speaker 3: don't want to keep having to play in hit incentive
- 23:48Speaker 3: based deals, right, Like you don't want to have to
- 23:50Speaker 3: be in that game, that seventeenth game of the year,
- 23:52Speaker 3: trying everything, like to get a sack, to get paid
- 23:55Speaker 3: what you should have got paid just when you signed
- 23:57Speaker 3: the contract.
- 23:58Speaker 4: Yeah, and if you're out there and thinking there's no
- 24:00Speaker 4: way he can replicate that that was just a flash
- 24:03Speaker 4: in the pan, I tell you, well, the tape kind
- 24:05Speaker 4: of tells a different story. And I also tell you
- 24:07Speaker 4: remember he had a new defensive coordinator and Brandon Saley,
- 24:11Speaker 4: So he found a coordinator that got ten and a
- 24:13Speaker 4: half sacks out of him and ten out of the
- 24:15Speaker 4: guy on the other side, Chase Young.
- 24:17Speaker 6: Yeah, so that was like unlock some pass rush.
- 24:21Speaker 3: Yeah. I like having him on the opposite side of Chase.
- 24:24Speaker 3: You only he he did a lot of this without
- 24:26Speaker 3: Chase Young there. Now with the emergence of him, his
- 24:29Speaker 3: performance I can only I can only see his performance
- 24:33Speaker 3: going up. Yeah. So there's no question to me that
- 24:35Speaker 3: he is absolutely you know right in the situation. Go test,
- 24:38Speaker 3: Go see what you can get at least hold the
- 24:40Speaker 3: Saints to handle the fire a little bit. Yeah.
- 24:43Speaker 4: And again though, like the thing that's going to be
- 24:46Speaker 4: troublesome is we talked about, the contract will automatically void
- 24:50Speaker 4: if he does not have a new deal in place
- 24:52Speaker 4: before the new league year begins, and that is four
- 24:55Speaker 4: pm Eastern time on Wednesday. So if the Saints signed
- 24:58Speaker 4: him to a new contract after that deadline, the dead
- 25:01Speaker 4: money eighteen point seventy six from the previous contract. In
- 25:04Speaker 4: any money from the new contract, we both count against
- 25:07Speaker 4: the salary cap. So basically they have until Wednesday three
- 25:10Speaker 4: pm local.
- 25:12Speaker 3: It's not I don't know how contracts work like at
- 25:16Speaker 3: that deep, at that depth, but like, if you're gonna
- 25:19Speaker 3: have eighteen hit your salary cap, if you don't get
- 25:21Speaker 3: a deal done, why don't you just offer him eighteen
- 25:26Speaker 3: for him to be there? I don't know how it works,
- 25:29Speaker 3: but that's say really Layman's interpretation of this whole situation.
- 25:35Speaker 4: Layman's Layman's Layman, I'm American, You're gonna have eighteen hit.
- 25:43Speaker 3: I'd have to. I'd have to. We'd have to phone
- 25:44Speaker 3: a friend on this one. What's the difference?
- 25:48Speaker 4: You know, you're saying, like, if just give him the money,
- 25:53Speaker 4: it's gonna count against the cap.
- 25:54Speaker 3: Anyways. Yeah, that's exactly what I'm saying. Yep.
- 25:59Speaker 4: So it would be uh, it would be kind of
- 26:02Speaker 4: sad to see Cam Jordan play for anybody else. I
- 26:04Speaker 4: totally get for the player why he would want to maybe,
- 26:07Speaker 4: you know, test the market because again, he was thirteenth
- 26:09Speaker 4: in the National Football League in sacks, he had more
- 26:12Speaker 4: sex than a lot of people were.
- 26:13Speaker 3: Making a lot more money.
- 26:14Speaker 4: He gave you a team free friendly deal to be
- 26:17Speaker 4: able to go out there and prove that under the
- 26:18Speaker 4: new regime, that.
- 26:19Speaker 6: He could still play at a very high level. He
- 26:21Speaker 6: did that and then some.
- 26:24Speaker 4: So for Cam, as much as he loves New Orleans
- 26:28Speaker 4: and he's he talked about it a ton, he's got
- 26:32Speaker 4: to go do what's best for him as well.
- 26:36Speaker 3: Absolutely, lay man, lay man.
- 26:39Speaker 5: Like man, did you say hand to the fire?
- 26:43Speaker 3: Yeah? Said hands the fire?
- 26:46Speaker 5: Hold your feet?
- 26:48Speaker 3: Yeah? I get it, but.
- 26:49Speaker 5: Like, hey, hey, the ridings on the table, we know'd.
- 26:54Speaker 3: But like, have you ever had your handheld near fire?
- 27:00Speaker 3: It's brutal. I would say it's even worse than the feet.
- 27:03Speaker 3: That's why I said it.
- 27:12Speaker 6: Or Jordan, what if Cam signed with the Falcons?
- 27:19Speaker 5: Oh my god, can you imagine?
- 27:24Speaker 3: I don't think you did that. What if he did?
- 27:27Speaker 4: Though, their edge rusher they drafted last year is in
- 27:31Speaker 4: a little bit of some legal trouble off the field?
- 27:36Speaker 3: Yeah, what if he signed with I mean, he's out
- 27:39Speaker 3: signed with the Falcon What if he did? Though? Say
- 27:42Speaker 3: about all the teams? What if he signed back with
- 27:45Speaker 3: the Saints for eighteen million dollars already? All right?
- 27:51Speaker 4: Well, as I mentioned, the Saints did make some moves.
- 27:54Speaker 4: The Saints, I'm texting Nick, are now under the cap.
- 27:59Speaker 4: They were evan over I believe even yesterday. Now they're
- 28:02Speaker 4: twenty under. We'll tell you how they got there when
- 28:04Speaker 4: we come back.
- 28:05Speaker 3: O TV.
- 28:07Speaker 2: Off the Bench.
- 28:27Speaker 1: Two thousand and seven Champs Purple and Gold to the Core.
- 28:31Speaker 1: This is Off the Bench with Hester and Flynn Baton,
- 28:35Speaker 1: Rouge's go to for all things Louisiana sports.

- 29:23Speaker 3: Oh a little quick twitch, you know, a little quick twitch.
- 29:26Speaker 4: Go see our friends over at juven Me Medical locations

- 29:56Speaker 3: So if you're gonna do it, make sure you don't
- 29:58Speaker 3: know the best. Make sure it's medical supervised and it's
- 30:01Speaker 3: not just Remember if you were thinking about getting that
- 30:03Speaker 3: extrabusive energy, if you're thinking about doing starting a hormone
- 30:07Speaker 3: replacement therapy, make sure you're not going somewhere that's like
- 30:10Speaker 3: just about making sure like your high testosterone. It's not
- 30:13Speaker 3: about that. It's just about normalizing your body on what
- 30:15Speaker 3: it should be feeling like you should be feeling and
- 30:19Speaker 3: getting that energy back, getting the zest for life back.
- 30:21Speaker 3: So go check them out with juvei me medical dot com.
- 30:24Speaker 4: All right, here is some of the moves that have
- 30:28Speaker 4: gotten the Saints where they have some moolah to spend
- 30:32Speaker 4: cash money. So once we've talked about we're structured. Juwan
- 30:37Speaker 4: Johnson converted part of his nine million dollar base salary
- 30:41Speaker 4: into bonus, which we see all the time. So you've
- 30:44Speaker 4: got several millionaire you've got Justin Reed converted part of
- 30:48Speaker 4: his nine point twenty five million salary to bonus cap
- 30:52Speaker 4: savings of around six and a half million dollars a
- 30:55Speaker 4: little bit under six and a half million dollars. They
- 30:57Speaker 4: were structured Chase Young's deal, a part of his fourteen
- 31:01Speaker 4: point eight million dollar base salary into signing bonus. They
- 31:05Speaker 4: saved almost eleven million dollars in.
- 31:08Speaker 3: That move alone.
- 31:09Speaker 4: So we've seen the Saints obviously kicked the can down
- 31:13Speaker 4: the road for a long time.
- 31:15Speaker 3: That's three players there.
- 31:16Speaker 4: You make some changes, you convert salary into signing bonus,
- 31:22Speaker 4: and now you get some room to breathe and you
- 31:25Speaker 4: got a little bit of money to spend. Saints right now,
- 31:30Speaker 4: let's see it cleared thirty million, about thirty million, a
- 31:35Speaker 4: little bit over thirty million dollars, so they're going to
- 31:37Speaker 4: have some wiggle room to be able to bring some
- 31:39Speaker 4: people in add to this roster. I wish I would
- 31:43Speaker 4: have been one of those players that said, hey, we're
- 31:46Speaker 4: just going to convert all this to signing bonus and
- 31:47Speaker 4: you get it tomorrow.
- 31:48Speaker 6: That had been cool. Yeah, i'd been nice. It was
- 31:51Speaker 6: a fun. Dil did you have that you turn?
- 31:58Speaker 3: God? I hate you go ahead to make for Charles
- 32:00Speaker 3: Woodson in Oakland? So all right, I'd pay a lot
- 32:06Speaker 3: of California, Texas. Yeah you did, so, I think to yep,
- 32:10Speaker 3: it is all right, So walk us through it as
- 32:14Speaker 3: a player.
- 32:15Speaker 4: Walk us through those conversations, walk us through who comes
- 32:17Speaker 4: to you, walk us through what your agent's telling you
- 32:19Speaker 4: to do, pros cons.
- 32:21Speaker 3: It was pretty easy. I was in the facility and
- 32:24Speaker 3: I knew we were trying to get Charles Woodson. My
- 32:26Speaker 3: agent calls me and says, hey, they want to restructure
- 32:31Speaker 3: your contract to a bonus and you'll get league minimum
- 32:35Speaker 3: yeah as your salary. And I was like, awesome, he's
- 32:38Speaker 3: all right, go ahead and head upstairs. And I went
- 32:41Speaker 3: and signed it like four minutes later, that quick. That quick,
- 32:45Speaker 3: it was already negotiated when like when he called me,
- 32:47Speaker 3: because it's like you're not going to say no to that,
- 32:51Speaker 3: so like the contract is already drawn. I got traded
- 32:54Speaker 3: to Oakland.
- 32:55Speaker 4: Correct, They paid off the rest of the Seattle deal
- 33:00Speaker 4: with this was the second year for the second year.
- 33:02Speaker 3: Yeah, so like that was like my when I signed
- 33:06Speaker 3: with Seattle, that was the signing bonus, right, you got
- 33:09Speaker 3: your signing bonus plus the salary. Yeah, then your second
- 33:12Speaker 3: year is all salary. There is no more bonus to it.
- 33:14Speaker 3: So I had a second year's salary in Oakland, which
- 33:17Speaker 3: they traded for and then it got restructured. So the
- 33:22Speaker 3: third year was there was a three year contract originally
- 33:25Speaker 3: in Seattle, but third year, like second and third year
- 33:27Speaker 3: had second year had some guarantees. Yeah, third year had nothing,
- 33:31Speaker 3: nothing guaranteed. It was like the third year would have
- 33:34Speaker 3: been the biggest one of the but it was not.
- 33:36Speaker 3: It was had zero dollars guaranteed. Yeah.
- 33:38Speaker 7: Uh.
- 33:38Speaker 3: So they took my second year and they just restructured
- 33:42Speaker 3: the whole thing, converted it all to a like a
- 33:45Speaker 3: just a re signing bonus.
- 33:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:49Speaker 3: And then I got league minimum as the salary. Yeah.
- 33:51Speaker 4: So like in the season, those checks weren't fun, but
- 33:53Speaker 4: that when you signed initially it was fun.
- 33:56Speaker 3: Super fun. So I read the bottom line the second
- 33:59Speaker 3: about of mine, Uncle Sam and uncle California.
- 34:04Speaker 4: Sun tax in California's like, oh my god, whether it's
- 34:07Speaker 4: not that good.
- 34:12Speaker 3: You don't like paying more than you make? I don't.
- 34:14Speaker 3: I don't like paying more to make, like four more
- 34:16Speaker 3: than I make.
- 34:18Speaker 4: Yeah, remember the year hit all my incentives, every every
- 34:23Speaker 4: incentive I had in my rookie deal, like going to
- 34:25Speaker 4: my four year hit them All Player Performance, Pro Bowl voting,
- 34:30Speaker 4: all of it. Right, So for a full back, it's
- 34:34Speaker 4: public record, Like I don't really care I made one
- 34:36Speaker 4: point four. Yeah, I was like yeah, because I was
- 34:39Speaker 4: a league minimum guy. Like I got a nice signing
- 34:41Speaker 4: bonus being a third round pay, but I was a
- 34:43Speaker 4: league minimum guy. So like when I hit all that,
- 34:44Speaker 4: it's like the first time it wasn't league minimum. And
- 34:46Speaker 4: I do remember like getting the check and like the
- 34:49Speaker 4: anticipation of like seeing it and then looking and seeing
- 34:53Speaker 4: that you paid.
- 34:53Speaker 3: More than you paid. I mean it's like, you know,
- 34:55Speaker 3: like christ River, right, right, I know, but it's still
- 34:58Speaker 3: it's still it's still not fun.
- 35:00Speaker 4: Yeah, when you see that you've given the government more
- 35:02Speaker 4: than they've given you, it's not fun no matter how
- 35:04Speaker 4: much money.
- 35:05Speaker 3: Let me, I'll tell you, Okay, I'll share. This is
- 35:07Speaker 3: a vulnerable job. Right, we share a lot about ourselves
- 35:10Speaker 3: that we normally wouldn't. I'll share something else that was
- 35:13Speaker 3: actually so during that bonus when I get restructured to
- 35:16Speaker 3: a bonus at that time, and this is out worked everywhere,
- 35:20Speaker 3: Like your salary in the NFL is where you play football,
- 35:24Speaker 3: so like you pay taxes where you pay football, So
- 35:26Speaker 3: like if you are let's just say you're you play
- 35:29Speaker 3: for the Cowboys, you have no state income tax. But
- 35:32Speaker 3: if you fly to La to play the Rams for
- 35:36Speaker 3: that week's check, you pay California taxes for that week
- 35:41Speaker 3: because you worked in California that week. So your taxes
- 35:46Speaker 3: are pretty robust at the end of the year because
- 35:47Speaker 3: you're filing taxes in like ten different states, fifteen different
- 35:49Speaker 3: states whatever it is, right because you worked in those states.
- 35:52Speaker 3: So at for a long time the NFL, I don't
- 35:55Speaker 3: know how it is now, certainly not in the California,
- 35:57Speaker 3: but like if you got converted to a bone, you
- 36:01Speaker 3: could pay taxes on your bonus wherever you claimed residency.
- 36:06Speaker 3: So I just came from Seattle, where I spent the year. Right,
- 36:09Speaker 3: Seattle or Washington has no state, no state tax. So
- 36:14Speaker 3: I spent more than half the year in Seattle. The
- 36:18Speaker 3: year I got traded, we had our house, I was
- 36:21Speaker 3: registered to vote there, like everything was like everything was
- 36:25Speaker 3: buttoned up. So at the time I paid no state
- 36:28Speaker 3: income tax on that converted bonus, which was like fourteen percent. Yeah,
- 36:36Speaker 3: well twenty like seventeen or eighteen comes around California revenue.
- 36:43Speaker 3: This comes afterward they did a they did a tax
- 36:45Speaker 3: grab on athletes, performers, musicians, actors, all people that had
- 36:51Speaker 3: bonuses that didn't live in California that got paid and
- 36:54Speaker 3: did the same thing. And they did a cash grow
- 36:57Speaker 3: and the first person that appealed it lost the president everybody.
- 37:01Speaker 3: And like, talking about a check I had to write
- 37:04Speaker 3: that was you know, money already spent or invested or whatever,
- 37:08Speaker 3: straight cash Ooh yeah yeah, heavy six figs, no doubt. Yeah,
- 37:17Speaker 3: this is like five years after the fact, right my head,
- 37:20Speaker 3: this is like, this is like five years after the fact. Yeah.
- 37:23Speaker 6: It was very and those checks aren't coming every two
- 37:25Speaker 6: weeks like they were. It was very heartbreaking. Yeah, I
- 37:28Speaker 6: might cry for you.
- 37:29Speaker 3: I just wrote a check into the whole hydration game. No, no,
- 37:35Speaker 3: So it was fun A little little insight. There's a
- 37:38Speaker 3: vulnerable job.
- 37:40Speaker 6: Who's the guy that lost it from the very beginning.
- 37:41Speaker 3: I don't know. He's really a hell though. Yeah that
- 37:44Speaker 3: guy sucks. Get your better attorney. Geez m, little cash
- 37:50Speaker 3: graft from California. So like when I say I don't
- 37:53Speaker 3: like California, there's a good reason. You do. Have a
- 37:58Speaker 3: deep pay for him. Well it's trash fight.
- 38:01Speaker 4: Look, also have a hate for paying taxes and places.
- 38:04Speaker 4: We spent thirty six hours in sucks. Any who's I'll
- 38:11Speaker 4: tell you get under the cap. You say, hey, your
- 38:14Speaker 4: salary is gonna be ten million. What if we make
- 38:17Speaker 4: it a million, but we give you the other nine
- 38:20Speaker 4: right now today probably tomorrow, could have checked tomorrow.
- 38:24Speaker 3: That sounds fun.
- 38:25Speaker 4: Yeah, So every player is going to do it because
- 38:28Speaker 4: they get guaranteed upfront right now money. Nobody's gonna turn
- 38:31Speaker 4: that down. So that's how it works. If the NFL
- 38:34Speaker 4: ever gets rid of that, like they make that where
- 38:37Speaker 4: you can't do that, everybody's in trouble. Everybody's in trouble.
- 38:40Speaker 3: Every single everybody's racing to sign those deals, especially if
- 38:43Speaker 3: at the time you think you're gonna avoid some state
- 38:44Speaker 3: sales tax.
- 38:46Speaker 8: A Lee, that's I mean, that's I'm sorry man, Hey,
- 38:51Speaker 8: it's okay, dude. That's water in the bridge seven years ago. Yeah, that,
- 38:55Speaker 8: but you paid for the bridge though.
- 39:02Speaker 3: California is doing pretty good with all those taxes though
- 39:04Speaker 3: that they oh yeah, yeah, they're doing fine fiscally. Yes, yes,
- 39:07Speaker 3: they put it to good use. That the big gaff.
- 39:11Speaker 3: All right, we will take a break.

- 41:21Speaker 4: He actually used to say that, like, if you can't
- 41:23Speaker 4: seal the deal by midnight, it ain't gonna happen.
- 41:26Speaker 3: It's not happening.
- 41:27Speaker 5: That's great advice.
- 41:28Speaker 3: Yeah, what he used to say, that's true.
- 41:31Speaker 5: That man, New Ball and Life.
- 41:34Speaker 3: You go, Uh so is Pala? Oh my god, no
- 41:39Speaker 3: big deal.

- 42:52Speaker 3: Because of Pala, it's more than just construction. It's about
- 42:54Speaker 3: the people, employe owned, relationship driven PALA Group dot Com.
- 42:59Speaker 6: All right, another segment, another New Orleans Saints restructured contract.
- 43:03Speaker 6: Our guy Nicko Underhill reports the Saints and Alvin Kamara
- 43:06Speaker 6: converted ten point one five five million of his salary,
- 43:10Speaker 6: but he says it was not the same standard conversion
- 43:13Speaker 6: that Justin Reed, Juwan Johnson, and Chase Young had. So
- 43:19Speaker 6: the Saints and Kamara have adjusted his contract, lowering his
- 43:22Speaker 6: cap number four twenty twenty six by eight million dollars.
- 43:27Speaker 6: So the way that they did it, it's not the
- 43:30Speaker 6: base salary to bonus conversion. Says it provides cat flexibility
- 43:35Speaker 6: if he's not with the team.
- 43:38Speaker 3: Ooh okay, uh.
- 43:45Speaker 4: M hm, Micky out here doing a lot of deals,
- 43:51Speaker 4: lots of deals, make lots of stuff.
- 43:54Speaker 3: I mean it took him, it took him a few decades,
- 43:56Speaker 3: but he's really getting the hang of this thing. It
- 44:02Speaker 3: took forever really coming into his own though, finding his groove,
- 44:05Speaker 3: finding his stride. I don't know what's gonna happen with
- 44:08Speaker 3: camp Jeordan not trust Mickey, though.
- 44:15Speaker 5: I don't know if I'm gonna go that far.
- 44:17Speaker 3: What just trying to make sure our listeners are listening.
- 44:23Speaker 3: We was listening.
- 44:26Speaker 4: So they have done a lot of work to now
- 44:28Speaker 4: have some available money to spend. So now the math
- 44:33Speaker 4: on the draft changes a little bit because you can
- 44:35Speaker 4: attack some of those things in free agency that we
- 44:37Speaker 4: just didn't think you're gonna have the money to be
- 44:38Speaker 4: able to go out there and attack. We weren't really
- 44:40Speaker 4: sure what that was going to look like. So it
- 44:43Speaker 4: you know, interior offensive line needs an upgrade. We've talked
- 44:47Speaker 4: about that for years, So now you can attack that
- 44:50Speaker 4: in free agency. You got to see where Alante Taylor
- 44:54Speaker 4: is a couple of different scenarios out from the New
- 45:00Speaker 4: Orleans Saints. But now that you do have the money
- 45:02Speaker 4: to spend, and you look, you're not gonna go out
- 45:05Speaker 4: there and you know, give thirty million dollars to a receiver,
- 45:09Speaker 4: But if you can upgrade your into your offensive line
- 45:12Speaker 4: with the money that you save, protect your young quarterback,
- 45:16Speaker 4: get rid of what you've had for years, it's been
- 45:18Speaker 4: really bad upfront at that position.
- 45:22Speaker 6: And then you attack the draft and you get the
- 45:23Speaker 6: other stuff.
- 45:24Speaker 4: But like, you can find some really good interior offensive
- 45:26Speaker 4: line in free agency, and we can explore some of
- 45:28Speaker 4: those names when we come back here on OTV.
- 45:32Speaker 1: Off the Bench,
