- 0:05Speaker 2: Well, good morning, and welcome to Tuesday in the capital
- 0:08Speaker 2: City of the Free World. In case you're keeping a
- 0:10Speaker 2: note or you didn't know, today is July twenty first,
- 0:13Speaker 2: it is Tuesday. It's ninety seven point one washfm 'orre
- 0:17Speaker 2: Toby and Chilly in the morning. Why are you feeling
- 0:19Speaker 2: good today? What's giving you some joy? Before five am,
- 0:22Speaker 2: eight sixty six ninety two, seven forty three sixty one
- 0:25Speaker 2: is the number call now dispense said joy that you
- 0:27Speaker 2: are feeling upon us because it is something that the
- 0:31Speaker 2: world needs more of, you know, I really think so.
- 0:34Speaker 2: So why are you feeling good this morning? There, Chiliama,
- 0:36Speaker 2: what's good?
- 0:37Speaker 3: I'm not overscheduled this week. Last week was a doozy
- 0:40Speaker 3: and I didn't know at the time that I was
- 0:42Speaker 3: scheduling different meetings and different appointments until it's not up bomby.
- 0:46Speaker 3: But this week I glanced at the calendar and it's
- 0:50Speaker 3: a normal amount of commitments.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Hey, you and I have you and I have flip
- 0:54Speaker 2: flopped things this week. I have like work stuff coming
- 0:57Speaker 2: out the wazoo, especially later on this week. Between work stuff,
- 1:01Speaker 2: and then something that hasn't caught me and sometimes has
- 1:04Speaker 2: caught me for the first few days of this week. Okay,
- 1:07Speaker 2: medical stuff, Oh okay, yep, But you know what, Fortunately,
- 1:11Speaker 2: it's not like you know, drag yourself downtown, go get
- 1:14Speaker 2: poked and prodded. There's you know, a video appointment, then
- 1:18Speaker 2: there's an in person appointment, then there's the other appointment,
- 1:21Speaker 2: and then all of this would get complicated if I
- 1:24Speaker 2: actually end up having an insurance company that speaks directly
- 1:27Speaker 2: to the hospital and works out the problems that have
- 1:30Speaker 2: been happening with what's it called physical therapy. But we
- 1:34Speaker 2: don't need to get into that because I believe that
- 1:36Speaker 2: they'll work out. Why because it's Tuesday, and if they
- 1:38Speaker 2: didn't work out on Monday, they should work out today.
- 1:42Speaker 2: God willing, I'm manifesting right now. Why are you feeling good?
- 1:49Speaker 2: Hit us up, Let us know. I'm feeling great because
- 1:51Speaker 2: I believe that all of my issues will be handled
- 1:54Speaker 2: this week. Amen, And you need the news top stories
- 2:00Speaker 2: at the top of the hour. What's going on?
- 2:02Speaker 3: Do you think drinking five cups of coffee a day
- 2:06Speaker 3: is too much? I'll tell you what. The American Heart
- 2:09Speaker 3: Association says in just a few top stories top of
- 2:16Speaker 3: the hour, the President is imposing fifty percent tariffs on
- 2:20Speaker 3: most Canadian goods, accusing Canada of unfair treatment of American autos, alcohol,
- 2:25Speaker 3: and dairy, and those tariffs will take place in thirty days.
- 2:30Speaker 3: A former Olympic canoeist accused of damaging the Lincoln Memorial
- 2:33Speaker 3: reflecting Pool is now set to go on trial September
- 2:36Speaker 3: twenty eighth. David Hearn has pleaded not guilty to the
- 2:39Speaker 3: felony property destruction charge and is asking the court to
- 2:42Speaker 3: dismiss the case. The search for a missing boater in
- 2:46Speaker 3: Anna Arundel County has become a recovery operation. Officials say
- 2:50Speaker 3: the man jump from a pontoon boat to retrieve a
- 2:52Speaker 3: hat in Rock Creek on Sunday afternoon, but he never
- 2:55Speaker 3: resurfaced and was not wearing a life jacket. And Alexandria
- 2:59Speaker 3: man is facing nearly two hundred charges after Fairfax County
- 3:03Speaker 3: Police say he targeted cars at fitness centers across northern Virginia.
- 3:07Speaker 3: They say the twenty nine year old stole wallets and
- 3:09Speaker 3: credit cards from parked vehicles. Arlington has approved redevelopment at
- 3:15Speaker 3: the Roslin parking garage that's tied to the Watergate scandal,
- 3:18Speaker 3: where an FBI informant once met a Washington Post reporter.
- 3:22Speaker 3: The plan brings eight hundred and thirty one apartments and
- 3:25Speaker 3: a grocery store. The historical markers will stay, although it'll
- 3:30Speaker 3: come down temporarily during construction. And Finally, a new American
- 3:35Speaker 3: Heart Association study says that drinking up to five cups
- 3:38Speaker 3: of playing coffee a day is generally safe for most adults.
- 3:42Speaker 3: Researchers found that it may even lower the risk of
- 3:45Speaker 3: type two diabetes, heart disease, and stroke. Forecast today a
- 3:49Speaker 3: chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. Highs around
- 3:52Speaker 3: eighty five. Right now seventy five in Falls Church.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Now that you've got the news, stay right there with
- 3:58Speaker 2: Toby and Chilly in the morning where you get to
- 4:00Speaker 2: stories at the top of the hour and you get
- 4:02Speaker 2: a moment to reflect on how you're doing this morning
- 4:05Speaker 2: with a quote that we found that we think might
- 4:07Speaker 2: help you a bit when it comes to taking on
- 4:09Speaker 2: this the second day of the week. Your morning mindset
- 4:12Speaker 2: is less than ten minutes, less than fifteen minutes away.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Don't go too far. Thanks for waking up with us
- 4:19Speaker 2: in Washington's Variety of the eighties, nineties, and today Toby
- 4:22Speaker 2: and Chilly in the Morning at ninety seven point one
- 4:24Speaker 2: wash FM. Let's talk about you right about now.
- 4:27Speaker 3: Specifically your mindset, and we have a quote to share
- 4:30Speaker 3: with you for you to think about.
- 4:32Speaker 2: So going into the works of the Great Francis of
- 4:36Speaker 2: a CC today, we start by doing what's necessary, then
- 4:41Speaker 2: we do what's possible, and suddenly you're doing the impossible.
- 4:46Speaker 2: Think about it. You start by doing what's necessary, then
- 4:50Speaker 2: you do what's possible, and suddenly you find that you're
- 4:54Speaker 2: doing the impossible, Saint Francis of a CC. So what
- 4:58Speaker 2: does this mean? While this that means at least to me,
- 5:01Speaker 2: the big dreams are usually built from very ordinary Tuesdays
- 5:06Speaker 2: and the rest of the week through Friday. Seriously, that's
- 5:09Speaker 2: when big dreams start. You think you're not gonna get
- 5:11Speaker 2: something done, but you do, You do what you think
- 5:14Speaker 2: you can do, and then that's when the impossible starts
- 5:16Speaker 2: to happen. So dream big today, realize that it's within
- 5:19Speaker 2: you to make it happen, and you will make that
- 5:22Speaker 2: difference for yourself, for the world you're trying to create.
- 5:26Speaker 2: But it all starts by doing what's necessary, all right,
- 5:30Speaker 2: So keep that in mind as you go today and
- 5:32Speaker 2: need it again. You'll find it socially. Just search for us.
- 5:35Speaker 2: You can also get us on the Toby and Chili
- 5:36Speaker 2: page washchef dot com. Now stay there. Coming up in
- 5:40Speaker 2: just a few minutes.
- 5:41Speaker 3: Do you ever find yourself saying, gosh, I really missed
- 5:43Speaker 3: the quote unquote good old days.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Sure?
- 5:45Speaker 3: Well, a psychiatrist kind of explains what we're actually talking
- 5:48Speaker 3: about when we're saying we're feeling nostalgia.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Big conversation on all things nostalgia. Y'all hang out on
- 5:55Speaker 2: nostalgia chili. I was nostalgic over the weekend. That was
- 6:00Speaker 2: till you in the morning. It's ninety seven point one
- 6:02Speaker 2: wash FM. I've got some peaches and I was thinking,
- 6:04Speaker 2: what would my grandmother Mimi do with these peaches that
- 6:07Speaker 2: would taste so good? I mean, she just had ways
- 6:10Speaker 2: upon ways upon ways on nostalgia. But you were mentioning
- 6:14Speaker 2: something about nostalgia a few minutes ago, Yeah, what do
- 6:16Speaker 2: we need to know?
- 6:17Speaker 3: Well, a psychiatrist who's also a gen xer like you
- 6:20Speaker 3: and I says people who long for the eighties aren't
- 6:22Speaker 3: really missing like the big hair, the arcades, or the
- 6:25Speaker 3: shoulder pads. But we're missing six things that made everyday
- 6:29Speaker 3: life simpler.
- 6:30Speaker 2: Six things Yeah, okay.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Number one is being able to be unreachable when you're
- 6:34Speaker 3: away from home.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Truth.
- 6:36Speaker 3: That way, you're not constantly being bombarded with people wanting
- 6:39Speaker 3: to get in touch with you.
- 6:40Speaker 2: I mean you can actually unplug. Wow.
- 6:42Speaker 3: Yeah, speaking being bombarded, like you know, those notifications that
- 6:45Speaker 3: keep coming through on your phone for views and other things.
- 6:48Speaker 3: They could be very jarring and make you anxious. We
- 6:51Speaker 3: were able to back in the day enjoy hobby without
- 6:53Speaker 3: having to turn it into content.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Oh look, I've learned how to make bread. Let me
- 6:58Speaker 2: show you. I've learned how to make bread. It's almost
- 7:00Speaker 2: it's like this weird need to justify your existence. Yeah,
- 7:04Speaker 2: is now a thing because of whatever? Whatever?
- 7:07Speaker 3: Exactly. Number four being able to fix things yourself. Number five,
- 7:11Speaker 3: and this is the one that really gets me. There
- 7:14Speaker 3: was a time where we could trust what we saw
- 7:16Speaker 3: and heard. Now we doubt all the things. Yeah that's fake. Yeah,
- 7:21Speaker 3: oh that's this. Yeah, no, it's not news murmur. And
- 7:25Speaker 3: number six living in a world where scarcity made experiences
- 7:29Speaker 3: feel more special.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Well, you do need more we do need more experiences
- 7:32Speaker 2: like that that are special. Yeah, because in this world
- 7:35Speaker 2: that we're in, you know what.
- 7:37Speaker 3: It's kind of catch twenty two right. On the one hand,
- 7:39Speaker 3: modern technology has brought plenty of benefits, we cannot argue
- 7:43Speaker 3: with that, but it's also created this information over over
- 7:47Speaker 3: ready and non stomp connectivity, endless choices. I actually missed
- 7:52Speaker 3: the fact that we only had maybe six TV channels.
- 7:55Speaker 3: Now I feel overwhelmed, honestly, just sitting there. I don't
- 7:58Speaker 3: know what to watch. Things, feel like I'm missing out
- 8:00Speaker 3: on something all.
- 8:01Speaker 2: Bruce Springsteen wrote a song about that, like fifty seven
- 8:04Speaker 2: channels and nothing on. We've amused ourselves to death. Then
- 8:08Speaker 2: it is too much. So what happened to the unique
- 8:11Speaker 2: experiences that we call of life once upon a time? Yes,
- 8:14Speaker 2: picture didn't happen.
- 8:15Speaker 3: I think you're listening to the right radio station because
- 8:18Speaker 3: we play the best of the eighties and nineties and today,
- 8:21Speaker 3: and so we feel like this is a soundtrack of
- 8:23Speaker 3: your life. So maybe when you hear one of these
- 8:24Speaker 3: eighties songs it takes you back to the quote unquote
- 8:27Speaker 3: good old days.
- 8:28Speaker 2: And if it doesn't, they'll at least be one that's nearby.
- 8:30Speaker 2: It's ninety seven point one wash chef m Stay right
- 8:33Speaker 2: there because we got to get to some news top
- 8:35Speaker 2: stories at the top of the hour. Coming up, what's
- 8:36Speaker 2: going on?
- 8:37Speaker 3: We've all seen ads on billboards, but are they really effective.
- 8:41Speaker 3: I'll be sharing the results of a recent study. Coming up.
- 8:46Speaker 2: What unexpectedly happened over the weekend. It's going to cost
- 8:50Speaker 2: you some money. Well, we've been thinking about that and
- 8:53Speaker 2: we think we can help here at ninety seven point
- 8:55Speaker 2: one wash CHEFM whire Toby and Chilly in the morning.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Make sure you are listening a little bit later on
- 8:59Speaker 2: this morning.
- 9:00Speaker 3: Around nine ten, you're gonna get the first keyword of
- 9:02Speaker 3: the day for our one thousand dollars summertime cash. And
- 9:06Speaker 3: when you hear it, make sure you enter it at
- 9:08Speaker 3: washfm dot com.
- 9:10Speaker 2: Then answer your phone because if you don't answer your phone,
- 9:13Speaker 2: that means you'll miss the call. That means one grand
- 9:15Speaker 2: and who wants to do that. It's ninety seven point one.
- 9:18Speaker 1: Wash FF ninety seven point one WASHFM, Washington, an iHeartRadio station.
- 9:25Speaker 4: Coming up on top stories top of the hour.
- 9:27Speaker 3: The President is imposing fifty percent tariffs on a wide
- 9:31Speaker 3: range of Canadian products, We've got the latest on that
- 9:35Speaker 3: story and others on the way with Toby and Chilly
- 9:38Speaker 3: in the Morning ninety seven point one wash FM Top.
- 9:43Speaker 4: Top Stories, Top of the Hour.
- 9:45Speaker 3: The President is imposing fifty percent tariffs on a wide
- 9:49Speaker 3: range of Canadian products beginning August nineteenth. The White House
- 9:52Speaker 3: says it's in response to what it calls Canada's unreasonable, unequal,
- 9:56Speaker 3: and discriminatory trade practices. The US carrying out fresh strikes
- 10:01Speaker 3: against Iran. All began on Monday yesterday, targeting military command centers,
- 10:07Speaker 3: missile and drone launch sites, as well as air defense systems.
- 10:11Speaker 3: A pottery substance spill closed part of Duke Street in
- 10:15Speaker 3: Alexandria yesterday morning. Fire crews determined that the material was
- 10:18Speaker 3: a caustic substance, but the exact product remains under investigation.
- 10:24Speaker 3: Prince George's County Police say that nearly fifty crimes this
- 10:27Speaker 3: year have been linked to online marketplace meetups. This includes assault, robbery,
- 10:33Speaker 3: and a homicide. Police are urging buyers and sellers to
- 10:36Speaker 3: meet in safe and well lit public spots and then
- 10:39Speaker 3: walk away if anything feels off. Montgomery County has lowered
- 10:43Speaker 3: speed limits on thirty three mostly residential streets over the
- 10:47Speaker 3: past year. New signs will go up by the end
- 10:50Speaker 3: of August on five major corridors that are shared with
- 10:53Speaker 3: the state, dropping speeds to between twenty five and thirty
- 10:57Speaker 3: five miles an hour. And they're hoping that these lower
- 11:00Speaker 3: speeds boost survival odds for pedestrians and cyclists. And new
- 11:05Speaker 3: data shows that out of home advertising is really hard
- 11:08Speaker 3: to miss. Nearly half of US adults definitely notice these
- 11:12Speaker 3: ads multiple times a week, led by billboards at sixty
- 11:15Speaker 3: eight percent. And get this, over a third have researched
- 11:19Speaker 3: a product online after they saw one, and fifteen percent
- 11:24Speaker 3: have visited a store because of it. Forecast for today,
- 11:27Speaker 3: we have a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highes around
- 11:30Speaker 3: eighty five right now seventy five in Chevy Chase.
- 11:33Speaker 2: Well with some judge people, aren't we ninety seven point
- 11:36Speaker 2: one Wash FM, You just got the news, top stories,
- 11:39Speaker 2: top of the hour coming up. Survey says one to
- 11:41Speaker 2: seven people judge you by this, and it's more common
- 11:47Speaker 2: than you think, and you probably are guilty of having this.
- 11:52Speaker 2: So who's judging you? What is it you have? We're
- 11:55Speaker 2: going to talk in minutes eight sixty six nine two
- 11:58Speaker 2: seven forty three sixty one is the number of few
- 12:00Speaker 2: feel like you want to jump in at any time.
- 12:02Speaker 2: Toby and Tillie in the Morning on ninety seven point
- 12:04Speaker 2: one Wash FM with Washington's Variety of the eighties, nineties
- 12:08Speaker 2: and today All Morning, And did you hear about this
- 12:11Speaker 2: survey that says one in seven people judge you by
- 12:14Speaker 2: your phone background or your lock screen. Oh, come on,
- 12:18Speaker 2: begs the question what's on your lock screen? First of all,
- 12:21Speaker 2: this is a very petty thing for you to be
- 12:23Speaker 2: judging somebody on. I mean, it's their phone, it's their
- 12:26Speaker 2: lock screen. Why you worried about it?
- 12:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I've never seen anyone's questionable lock screen.
- 12:32Speaker 3: Usually it's of kids, family, whatever, is something normal. I've
- 12:36Speaker 3: never seen anything unusual. And to your point, why would
- 12:39Speaker 3: I care?
- 12:39Speaker 2: It's your phone, you know, if you want to put
- 12:42Speaker 2: some sort of like whatever on your phone's lock screen,
- 12:45Speaker 2: free country and all.
- 12:46Speaker 3: So mine happens to be if I'm looking down, it's
- 12:48Speaker 3: my son on the beach in Bermuda from a vacation.
- 12:53Speaker 3: Now it's been over two years, so I need to
- 12:55Speaker 3: update mine. Probably what's yours? Of mine is of Nova Luna,
- 12:58Speaker 3: The puppy. She's just being puppy. See, that's very common.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, I like it because on the iPhone
- 13:04Speaker 2: it does this whole three D looking thing and moves
- 13:06Speaker 2: it around.
- 13:07Speaker 3: So you know that pets are more popular than partners
- 13:10Speaker 3: or spouses, yep, because you could have had one of
- 13:13Speaker 3: you and your girlfriend, but you don't. You have one
- 13:15Speaker 3: of the dogs.
- 13:16Speaker 2: Dogs would probably have been in the picture too, because
- 13:18Speaker 2: they don't like to wander too far away from either one. Mostly.
- 13:22Speaker 3: Mom, here's what I kind of find interesting. One in
- 13:25Speaker 3: ten leave the default background to me, that's not very creative,
- 13:29Speaker 3: Like don't you want to have something there to I
- 13:31Speaker 3: don't know.
- 13:31Speaker 2: Yeah, but I got to say that at least with
- 13:33Speaker 2: the Apple World of Things and the iOS World of Things,
- 13:36Speaker 2: they have some pretty creative backgrounds.
- 13:38Speaker 3: But you're choosing one. You're not just leaving it up
- 13:40Speaker 3: to the default like whatever just happened to be there. Yeah.
- 13:43Speaker 2: I don't even know what the default on the iPhone
- 13:45Speaker 2: is because it saves, you know, when anytime you update,
- 13:47Speaker 2: it saves it and sticks that. Yeah, you had last
- 13:50Speaker 2: back up in there. I don't know. Very bizarre eight
- 13:52Speaker 2: sixty six nineteen seven forty three sixty one. Have you
- 13:55Speaker 2: ever judged somebody for their lock screen? What's on yours?
- 13:58Speaker 2: Give us a call and tell us all about it.
- 14:00Speaker 2: We want to hear from you, coming up in just minutes,
- 14:02Speaker 2: and we promise we won't judge. Survey says, well, they
- 14:07Speaker 2: did some research and they found after talking to two
- 14:10Speaker 2: thousand people, fourteen percent of us secretly judge others based
- 14:13Speaker 2: on their phone lock screen, their background. So eight sixty six,
- 14:18Speaker 2: nine two, seven forty three sixty one is the number
- 14:20Speaker 2: here in ninety seven point one wasch FM tell me
- 14:22Speaker 2: and Chilly in the morning. What is your phone background?
- 14:26Speaker 2: Why did you choose this?
- 14:28Speaker 3: Christopher? Thanks for listening to us in aldi, So what's
- 14:31Speaker 3: your background? My phone background is a picture of my
- 14:34Speaker 3: three kids.
- 14:35Speaker 2: I mean, they're my kids. Why wouldn't I have them
- 14:37Speaker 2: as my background?
- 14:38Speaker 3: Well?
- 14:38Speaker 2: I could think of a few reasons, but you know what,
- 14:40Speaker 2: I'll just kind of keep those close to the vest
- 14:42Speaker 2: for today.
- 14:43Speaker 3: No, you can't just say that and not elaborate.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Well, I mean, if they're constantly calling you asking for money,
- 14:48Speaker 2: if they're constantly calling you asking you for.
- 14:51Speaker 3: Things, feeling his children are not adult kids like yours.
- 14:55Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that's true. Well, thank you Christopher for the
- 14:58Speaker 2: call this morning. You're right, why couldn't your kids be
- 15:00Speaker 2: your lock screen? Let's shoot over here to Gathersburg. Hello, Tina,
- 15:04Speaker 2: So tell us what's on your lock screen? Why did
- 15:07Speaker 2: you choose it?
- 15:08Speaker 3: Mine is my dog? How does seeing that make you feel?
- 15:11Speaker 4: Every time I unlock my phone?
- 15:12Speaker 2: It's an instant mood boost, even if I'm having a
- 15:15Speaker 2: terrible day. Plus, they're way better than any default wallpaper.
- 15:19Speaker 2: That's to Chili's point earlier about default wallpaper, Well, you know, not.
- 15:24Speaker 3: Very creative, not very inspiring.
- 15:26Speaker 2: Kudos to you, ma'am for taking a picture of your
- 15:29Speaker 2: dog and making them your lock screen. There's just something
- 15:33Speaker 2: about knowing your dog is close by, even if on
- 15:36Speaker 2: the lock screen of your phone.
- 15:38Speaker 3: Well, it's the only person or thing that really loves
- 15:40Speaker 3: seeing you every time you come home.
- 15:41Speaker 2: And that too. Anybody have anything interesting on their lock screen?
- 15:46Speaker 2: Tell us all about it?
- 15:47Speaker 3: You know.
- 15:47Speaker 2: The number talkbacks wide open too if you're listening on
- 15:49Speaker 2: your iHeart app. Signed in tap speak and send and
- 15:53Speaker 2: stay there because next with Toby and Chili in the morning,
- 15:56Speaker 2: the news top stories at the top of the hour,
- 15:58Speaker 2: what's going on?
- 15:59Speaker 3: A new survey finds that late night online shopping is
- 16:02Speaker 3: leading to plenty of impulse bies.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Thanks to Live Nations. Sarah burrellis at the Anthem and

- 16:35Speaker 3: Canadian goods. We've got the latest on that story and

- 19:39Speaker 3: not I either.
- 19:40Speaker 2: All right, well, I was going to say that would
- 19:43Speaker 2: explain all the brown, poor plants that are no longer
- 19:47Speaker 2: with us in your house if they were under your

- 20:28Speaker 2: get those tickets. In just minutes. With ninety seven point
- 20:31Speaker 2: one WASHFM, we're gonna talk about emojis.
- 20:33Speaker 3: Yeah, new ones are coming out next spring. We'll share
- 20:36Speaker 3: some of the highlights, plus talk about maybe a wrong
- 20:39Speaker 3: emoji you accidentally sent some mode.
- 20:42Speaker 2: Let's talk about emojis. Did you see the news last week?
- 20:45Speaker 2: There's some new ones coming and we've got a little
- 20:48Speaker 2: bit of a preview for you right now at ninety
- 20:50Speaker 2: seven point one Wash FM with Toby and Chilly in
- 20:52Speaker 2: the morning.
- 20:53Speaker 3: So Unicode says, there nine designs that are coming to
- 20:56Speaker 3: your phone. A pickle is coming, which is finally going
- 20:59Speaker 3: to be different from the cucumber. Oh boy, I was
- 21:02Speaker 3: really wondering about that, right okay, A lighthouse, a meteor,
- 21:07Speaker 3: a net with a handle, an eraser, a left and
- 21:11Speaker 3: right pointing thumbs, a monarch, butterfly, and what they're calling
- 21:16Speaker 3: a crackling face meant to show the gap between someone's
- 21:19Speaker 3: composed exterior and the fact that they're actually falling apart.
- 21:22Speaker 2: Right. They're also fixing inconsistencies and designs. They're making a
- 21:27Speaker 2: comet look like a comet. A meteor is going to
- 21:29Speaker 2: look a little more red like a meteor. You know,
- 21:32Speaker 2: it's the little things. I guess I saw a preview
- 21:35Speaker 2: of some of them. They look pretty good. The one
- 21:36Speaker 2: thing that really kind of bugs me is that there
- 21:38Speaker 2: are times when I wish that I was on Google
- 21:41Speaker 2: because I think sometimes Google does a better job with
- 21:44Speaker 2: emojis than say, maybe Apple, But then sometimes the converse
- 21:47Speaker 2: is true. Apple does a better job than Google.
- 21:50Speaker 3: So, yeah, you're an emoji user. I don't typically include
- 21:53Speaker 3: a lot of emojis in my correspondence with people outside
- 21:57Speaker 3: the basic different facial expressions like the crying or the
- 22:01Speaker 3: laughing emoji and all that. And it's kind of risky
- 22:04Speaker 3: though when you use it on a regular basis, you
- 22:07Speaker 3: could accidentally send the one you didn't mean to send
- 22:10Speaker 3: it me.
- 22:11Speaker 2: I've done that, but that's normally because I just send
- 22:13Speaker 2: emojis to see if people are paying attention. Yeah, and
- 22:18Speaker 2: also now that we can tap back, like on both
- 22:21Speaker 2: platforms to one another, I'll do the same thing with emojis.
- 22:24Speaker 2: I'll tap back. Instead of the choices that they give you,
- 22:26Speaker 2: I'll go and I'll pick an emoji for it just
- 22:28Speaker 2: to be ridiculous, and it'll come out of left field.
- 22:31Speaker 2: You'll be like, why did he give me a monarch
- 22:34Speaker 2: butterfly emoji?
- 22:35Speaker 3: What does this mean?
- 22:36Speaker 2: I better just call him God forbid, I pick up
- 22:38Speaker 2: the phone and have a conversation.
- 22:40Speaker 3: And now that there's a pickle, is it going to
- 22:42Speaker 3: be mean something different than the cucumber already?
- 22:45Speaker 2: Does?
- 22:47Speaker 3: Wait? Means that is a pickle going to also be
- 22:51Speaker 3: something inappropriate?
- 22:52Speaker 2: Well, yes, it's not a pickle? Is a small cucumber?
- 22:55Speaker 3: Yes, we don't want that.
- 22:57Speaker 2: We're going to leave it at that.
- 22:58Speaker 3: But have you ever said someone on the wrong emoji
- 23:01Speaker 3: or vice versus somebody sent you one.
- 23:03Speaker 2: At eight sixty six nine two seven forty three sixty one,
- 23:06Speaker 2: throw them under the bus or yourself under the bus.
- 23:09Speaker 2: It'll be funny and we'll talk about it coming up
- 23:11Speaker 2: the news on the way though top stories, it's top
- 23:13Speaker 2: of the hour. What's going on?
- 23:15Speaker 3: I'll tell you which generation blames parents most for their
- 23:19Speaker 3: personal failures.
- 23:21Speaker 2: You need a getaway, couples, get away girls weekend Vegas
- 23:25Speaker 2: might be on your agenda. Our iHeartRadio Music Festival presented

- 23:52Speaker 3: The President is imposing fifty percent tariffs on a wide
- 23:56Speaker 3: range of Canadian products beginning next month. We've got the

- 24:20Speaker 3: it's in response to what it calls Canada's unreasonable, unequal
- 24:24Speaker 3: and discriminatory trade practices. The US is carrying out fresh
- 24:28Speaker 3: strikes against Iran, which began yesterday, targeting military command centers,

- 24:37Speaker 3: A powdery substance spill closed part of Duke Street in
- 24:41Speaker 3: Alexandria yesterday morning. Fire crews determined the material was a
- 24:45Speaker 3: caustic substance, but the exact product remains under investigation. French
- 24:50Speaker 3: George's County police say that nearly fifty crimes this year
- 24:53Speaker 3: have been linked to online marketplace meetups, including assault, robbery,
- 24:58Speaker 3: and homicide, so police are ear buyers and sellers to
- 25:01Speaker 3: meet in safe and well lit public spots and also
- 25:04Speaker 3: walk away if anything feels off. Montgomery County has lowered
- 25:08Speaker 3: speed limits on thirty three mostly residential streets over the
- 25:12Speaker 3: past year. New signs go up by the end of
- 25:15Speaker 3: next month on five major corridors that are shared with
- 25:18Speaker 3: the state, dropping speeds to between twenty five and thirty
- 25:21Speaker 3: five miles an hour, and officials say that slower speeds
- 25:25Speaker 3: boost survival odds for pedestrians and cyclists. And new research
- 25:30Speaker 3: finds that gen Z increasingly is holding parents responsible or
- 25:35Speaker 3: accountable for their personal struggles. Twenty five percent blamed parents
- 25:40Speaker 3: for physical or mental health issues, seventeen percent for relationship troubles,
- 25:45Speaker 3: and fifteen percent for low motivation, and fifty two percent
- 25:49Speaker 3: report physical or verbal abuse. Nearly ten percent say they
- 25:53Speaker 3: have cut off a parent entirely from their lives. Forecast
- 25:57Speaker 3: for today, chance of showers and thunderstorms hides around eighty
- 26:00Speaker 3: five right now seventy six in Herndon.
- 26:02Speaker 2: Now that you got the news, hang out, because we're
- 26:04Speaker 2: coming right back with your thoughts on these emojis, specifically
- 26:09Speaker 2: your thoughts on that one time you sent an emoji
- 26:12Speaker 2: you really didn't mean to send. I mean, it happens
- 26:14Speaker 2: to the best of us. Sometimes we do it on purpose.
- 26:17Speaker 2: Bottom line, what's your story? Eight six six, nine two,
- 26:20Speaker 2: seven forty three sixty one eight six six, ninety two,
- 26:24Speaker 2: seven forty three sixty one, ninety seven point one WASHFM.
- 26:28Speaker 2: We're Toby and Chilly in the morning. Have you ever
- 26:30Speaker 2: sent the wrong emoji to somebody? You know? It's an accident, right, No, really,

- 26:38Speaker 2: it hilarious? What went down after you clicked send? We're
- 26:42Speaker 2: talking about it this morning here at ninety seven point
- 26:45Speaker 2: one wash.
- 26:45Speaker 3: FM because we read that nine new emojis are going
- 26:48Speaker 3: to be hitting our phones over the next few months,
- 26:50Speaker 3: and of course that means more potential for oops. Didn't
- 26:54Speaker 3: mean to send that one.
- 26:55Speaker 2: Right, you know, like that one emoji, the poop emoji? Right,
- 26:58Speaker 2: you never meant to send that one. But sometimes on
- 27:02Speaker 2: accident things happen, Right, Zachary, how are you in Silver Spring?
- 27:07Speaker 2: What went down?
- 27:08Speaker 3: So it was actually my girlfriend.
- 27:10Speaker 2: So she was she was texting me and she was
- 27:14Speaker 2: I mean, we were.
- 27:15Speaker 3: Flowing around and her dad texted her and she went
- 27:18Speaker 3: to respond to me and sent a winking emoji. Okay,
- 27:22Speaker 3: so she sent a winky emoji to her dad. But
- 27:25Speaker 3: it could have been a lot worse. It could have
- 27:27Speaker 3: involved produce. Yeah, he was like, what does that mean? Oh?
- 27:33Speaker 2: Nothing, My bad. I didn't mean to send that nod
- 27:37Speaker 2: for you.
- 27:38Speaker 3: Yeah, what was it for? Why are you winking at
- 27:40Speaker 3: a boy? What's going on?

- 27:44Speaker 2: shut up emoji out? All right? Alan in Springfield? What
