Speaker 5: TJ about that, plus some other things in the news.
• 2:03
Speaker 5: Course on the national front. The big story, the horrific
• 2:06
Speaker 5: killing early New Year's morning, around three am on Bourbon

Speaker 5: Street in New Orleans. Now confirmed at fifteen are dead,
• 2:13
Speaker 5: several others injured. TJ and I will delve in to
• 2:15
Speaker 5: that story a little bit later on. Plus some other
• 2:17
Speaker 5: things in the news. More more local and statewide stuff
• 2:20
Speaker 5: to get into as well. But as always, your calls

• 2:33
Speaker 5: be on the show last week, but some things came up.
• 2:36
Speaker 5: But the reschedule, man, I tell you, timing could not
• 2:39
Speaker 5: be better because the weather, particularly as we head from
• 2:42
Speaker 5: Sunday into Monday and into all of next week, seems
• 2:45
  Speaker 5: like it's on everybody's mind. We'll get to that a
• 2:47
Speaker 5: little bit later on. I do want to bring in
• 2:49
Speaker 5: now Brian Hughes from Storm Tracker thirteen. Mister Hughes, good morning.
• 2:53
Speaker 6: Well, good morning, Dave. How's your New Years starting off?
• 2:56
Speaker 5: Everything's good so far, no complaints when I had you
• 3:00
Speaker 5: scheduled Brian last week. Originally I thought we just talked
• 3:04
Speaker 5: a little bit about the year that was twenty twenty
• 3:06
Speaker 5: four as far as the weather goes, maybe a brief
• 3:08
Speaker 5: preview of the winter of twenty twenty five. However, since
• 3:11
Speaker 5: that time, we got some major weather news, particularly Sunday
• 3:15
Speaker 5: and THENTO Monday, really all through all next week.
• 3:17
Speaker 3: I will get to that a little bit.
• 3:18
Speaker 5: Later on, I promise, but I do want to do
• 3:19
Speaker 5: what I originally set out to do, and that was
• 3:22
Speaker 5: to talk to you about the weather. Let's go back
• 3:24
Speaker 5: to twenty twenty four. It seems like it was so
• 3:27
Speaker 5: long ago, Brian, the year that was twenty twenty four.
• 3:30
Speaker 5: But the big weather stories of twenty twenty four in
• 3:33
Speaker 5: West Virginia and our part of the world, with the drought,
• 3:35
Speaker 5: the tornado outbreak in April.
• 3:37
Speaker 3: Comment on that, you.
• 3:39
Speaker 7: Know what, the drought was one of the worst ones
• 3:42
Speaker 7: we've seen in thirty five years. And lo and behold,
• 3:46
Speaker 7: the new update from the drought folks who do this
• 3:50
Speaker 7: reporting and such is that we are now out of
• 3:52
  Speaker 7: the drought.
• 3:53
Speaker 6: So that says this morning, that's brand new information. We
• 3:56
  Speaker 6: absolutely love that.
• 3:57
Speaker 7: But the drought was you know significant, you would be
• 4:00
Speaker 7: amazed at how political what yes' exactly how political those
• 4:05
Speaker 7: drought boundaries are because it all determines how much money
• 4:09
Speaker 7: gets from the USDA.
• 4:11
Speaker 6: And payments and this and that, and it is people.
• 4:15
Speaker 7: Call and yell at the National Weather Service if they
• 4:17
Speaker 7: get marked out of the drought.
• 4:19
Speaker 3: I think you and I talked about that.
• 4:20
Speaker 5: I don't mean to laugh about that, but everything, everything
• 4:23
Speaker 5: is political these days. Not only get to that with
• 4:26
Speaker 5: you a little bit later on, but now I think
• 4:28
Speaker 5: you and I talked about that once before.
• 4:30
Speaker 3: You know that it is.
• 4:32
Speaker 5: It is indeed very political. So let's talk about the
• 4:37
Speaker 5: winter of twenty twenty five, not in the next couple
• 4:39
Speaker 5: of days. I mean, just in in general, how are
• 4:43
Speaker 5: you and Spencer and Chris and the fine folks at
• 4:45
Speaker 5: storm Track at thirteen, how are you seeing the overall
• 4:48
Speaker 5: winter season coming up?
• 4:50
Speaker 7: We're looking at it as just at average or just
• 4:54
Speaker 7: above average as far as precipitation is concerned. There's nothing
• 4:57
Speaker 7: that screams that we're going to have just this insane winter.
• 5:01
Speaker 7: But you know, when you combine that with the fact
• 5:03
Speaker 7: that we are going to be a touch colder than normal,
• 5:06
Speaker 7: you know that just automatically lends itself to being able
• 5:08
Speaker 7: to produce touch more snow than normal. So we're looking
• 5:13
Speaker 7: at that below normal on temperatures on average for the season,
• 5:18
Speaker 7: and then touch above normal on a precipitation at or
• 5:22
Speaker 7: just above normal precipitation. But you know, once we you know,
• 5:25
Speaker 7: get into tomorrow with the snow showers, then eventually this
• 5:28
Speaker 7: weekend and the next week storm system, everybody's going to think, wow,
• 5:32
Speaker 7: this is a crazy winter already.
• 5:34
Speaker 5: Yeah, but I mean overall you're saying it is going
• 5:37
Speaker 5: to be colder with above average participant participation precipitation one
• 5:42
Speaker 5: of those words, one of those words, it's good, good thing.
• 5:44
Speaker 5: I'll talk for a living. So I understand that we
• 5:47
Speaker 5: have a small clipper system that's going to move through
• 5:50
Speaker 5: the area, not really a whole lot for our part
• 5:52
Speaker 5: of the world, like late tonight and tomorrow morning. Is
• 5:54
Speaker 5: that right, I mean, in this initial clipper.
• 5:56
Speaker 7: System, Yeah, it's it's just a standard clip hpper that
• 6:00
Speaker 7: can produce anywhere from a dust thing to an inch.
• 6:03
Speaker 6: You get in eastern parts.
• 6:03
Speaker 7: Of Kanawk County and you're looking at maybe you know,
• 6:06
Speaker 7: one to two inches worth of the snow. So that's
• 6:09
Speaker 7: something that we're looking at. But it's going to hit
• 6:12
Speaker 7: you know, early in the morning, but also it's going
• 6:14
Speaker 7: to move through as we get you know, about this time,
• 6:17
Speaker 7: we'll have snow shares that will be coming down, some
• 6:18
Speaker 7: sow squalls, and as we get into the afternoon, it
• 6:21
Speaker 7: moves on off to the east and then it's confined
• 6:22
Speaker 7: to the mountains. But that just lays the groundwork for
• 6:25
Speaker 7: you know, freezing the ground back up and things getting
• 6:29
Speaker 7: hardened up and ready for the next storm system over
• 6:31
  Speaker 7: the weekend.
• 6:31
Speaker 5: And that's the one that everybody's talking about. So and
• 6:34
Speaker 5: I know it's early because people want you know, I
• 6:37
Speaker 5: love it on social media where people go after you
• 6:39
Speaker 5: guys and all the other ones saying, well, exactly how
• 6:42
Speaker 5: much snow is Ravens wouldn't gonna get how much am
• 6:44
Speaker 5: I going to get in cabin creek or whatever? Well,
• 6:46
Speaker 5: it's it's way too early for that. But the bottom
• 6:49
Speaker 5: line is that no matter where you're listening to us today,
• 6:52
Speaker 5: unless you're like one of our regular listeners who listens.
• 6:54
Speaker 3: To Florida, that gal will probably be okay.
• 6:57
Speaker 5: But here in the but here, in this area, Brian,
• 7:00
Speaker 5: we are talking about a major, major weather event starting
• 7:04
Speaker 5: what midday on Sunday.
• 7:06
Speaker 7: Yeah, about midday on Sunday. And here's how this pans out.
• 7:10
Speaker 7: You know, we are going to get snow. We are
• 7:11
Speaker 7: going to see snow accumulate, but we're also going to
• 7:13
Speaker 7: see it just ripped away from us as what we
• 7:16
Speaker 7: call the warm wedge of air that rides up essentially
• 7:19
Speaker 7: a quarter or G one nineteen and up by seventy nine.
• 7:22
Speaker 7: If you literally just followed Pikefield to Williamson to La
• 7:28
Speaker 7: the Logan area. Yeah, Madison, Charles sitting back up the
• 7:31
Speaker 7: you know Sutton up to Clarksburg.
• 7:33
Speaker 6: That is the warm wedge of air.
• 7:35
Speaker 7: It rides on the northern side of the mountain chain
• 7:38
Speaker 7: and it just gets drawn in by a southwest wind.
• 7:40
Speaker 7: And so what's going to happen is that will win
• 7:42
Speaker 7: the day, but it will start Sunday.
• 7:45
Speaker 6: Afternoon and evening as snow. We could get three or four,
• 7:48
Speaker 6: maybe even five inches worth.
• 7:49
Speaker 7: Of snow maybe, you know, before it's all said and
• 7:53
Speaker 7: done Sunday evening. And then Sunday night, you know, then
• 7:56
Speaker 7: the warmer air moves in, takes over and just cuts it.
• 7:59
Speaker 7: But what's going to hap happen is we'll get some
• 8:01
Speaker 7: sleep we'll get freezing rain. And if we get freezing
• 8:03
Speaker 7: rain for a couple of hours, that lends itself to
• 8:06
Speaker 7: power lines, you know, being touched by trees that are sagging,
• 8:10
Speaker 7: things that nature. So that's something we have to watch
• 8:12
Speaker 7: for a Sunday evening and night, and then going into
• 8:14
Speaker 7: Monday morning, we could well just have plane of wet streets,
• 8:18
Speaker 7: cold wet streets on you know, Monday morning, but then
• 8:22
Speaker 7: followed by Monday afternoon snow on the backside of the
• 8:25
Speaker 7: system moving through and much colder air moving in. And
• 8:28
Speaker 7: this is such a big storm system. It is going
• 8:30
Speaker 7: to be drawing very cold air from the Great White
• 8:33
Speaker 7: North into our region that will last into the rest
• 8:35
Speaker 7: of the week, and the week in inauguration is going
• 8:37
Speaker 7: to be a very very cold day.
• 8:39
Speaker 5: And again I think that's whatever everybody always gets hung
• 8:41
Speaker 5: up on, well how many inches of snow are we
• 8:43
Speaker 5: going to get? How many inches? And sometimes it's not
• 8:46
Speaker 5: about that. I mean, what you're telling me is is
• 8:48
Speaker 5: that once we get when that wedge sets in and
• 8:52
Speaker 5: we get the freezing rain and then we get snow
• 8:55
Speaker 5: on top of that, it is bottom line, going to
• 8:57
Speaker 5: be a mess driving Sunday into Monday.
• 9:00
Speaker 7: Right, and that's that's what we're looking at more than anything,
• 9:03
Speaker 7: is that you know there's going to be across the state,
• 9:05
Speaker 7: across the region, the majority of our schools will be canceled,
• 9:07
Speaker 7: probably going into Monday, because if they if it's not
• 9:11
Speaker 7: a problem on Monday morning, you know, at six o'clock,
• 9:14
Speaker 7: seven o'clock, as these buses are out and getting kids
• 9:16
Speaker 7: to school, it'll we have a problem for the after
• 9:18
Speaker 7: eatings getting the kids back home. So that Monday will
• 9:21
Speaker 7: probably be a winter weather day. We can't call it
• 9:24
Speaker 7: a snow dange entirely because of all the mix of it,
• 9:27
Speaker 7: but it'll be a similar to you know probably.
• 9:30
Speaker 6: You know learning at home, homebound learning or whatever they
• 9:32
Speaker 6: call it these days.
• 9:34
Speaker 7: Now, as we go into Tuesday, though, you know, we
• 9:36
Speaker 7: see the temperature shopping, there'll be some lingering slick spots
• 9:39
Speaker 7: that will probably delays on Tuesday morning. But then we
• 9:42
Speaker 7: just get cold in the next week. But yeah, Sunday,
• 9:45
Speaker 7: once you're hunkered down, you know about two three o'clock
• 9:48
Speaker 7: in the afternoon, there's no need to come back out
• 9:50
Speaker 7: for the rest of the night until maybe Monday.
• 9:52
Speaker 5: Talking to Brian Hughes from storm Track at thirteen to

• 10:06
Speaker 3: How to text here for you, Brian, And I know you're busy.
• 10:07
Speaker 3: I'm gonna let you go.
• 10:08
Speaker 5: But tech says ask Brian, if humans are contributing to
• 10:11
Speaker 5: global climate change? You love to talk about this stuff,
• 10:15
Speaker 5: mister Hughes, are humans Are we responsible?
• 10:18
  Speaker 4: Brian?
• 10:20
Speaker 6: We're not responsible for it all. We are contributing to
• 10:24
  Speaker 6: the mess.
• 10:25
Speaker 8: But if you if you go back and you look
• 10:28
Speaker 8: at you could go back and look at Arctic.
• 10:30
Speaker 7: Ice cores and you're gonna see periods of melting.
• 10:34
Speaker 6: You're going to see periods of warming. And this can
• 10:37
Speaker 6: be determined by literally.
• 10:38
Speaker 7: Taking a core of ice that you know could go
• 10:41
Speaker 7: one hundred feet deep and next thing you know, you
• 10:43
  Speaker 7: can see that.
• 10:44
Speaker 6: So we do have cycles?
• 10:46
Speaker 7: Do we have we contributed to that with a you know,
• 10:49
Speaker 7: a you know, a burning of this and that.
• 10:51
Speaker 8: And extra stuff fossil feel things like that, of.
• 10:54
Speaker 6: Course, but not to the amount that is going to
• 10:58
Speaker 6: cause complete alarm and we're all going to die. You know.
• 11:02
  Speaker 6: The the extreme.
• 11:03
Speaker 7: Alarmist stuff is something I'm not I'm not a believer in, but.
• 11:06
Speaker 6: I do know that things have changed. It's just it
• 11:09
Speaker 6: is a part of life.
• 11:10
Speaker 7: If you're going to burn a whole bunch of stuff,
• 11:12
Speaker 7: whether it be the Amazon and take trees out like that,
• 11:16
Speaker 7: you are going to have some things that are going
• 11:18
Speaker 7: to suffer. But the one thing that the Earth is
• 11:20
Speaker 7: very good about is replacing things constantly and cycling through things,
• 11:25
Speaker 7: and where one thing goes bad, it fixes things on another.
• 11:28
Speaker 7: That's also why we say when you have areas of
• 11:31
Speaker 7: little pressure, there's big massive storm systems, there's big massive
• 11:34
Speaker 7: areas high high pressure somewhere on the other side of
• 11:36
Speaker 7: the globe that is equally equalizing things out.
• 11:40
Speaker 6: The Earth does repair itself, you know, it's a global warming.
• 11:45
Speaker 7: Climate change is controversial in regards to a political sense
• 11:48
Speaker 7: and what you believe, but as far as we're concerned
• 11:51
Speaker 7: as a scientific perspective, yes we've contributed, but it's also repairable.
• 11:56
Speaker 5: And I will say, if you don't follow Brian Hughes
• 11:59
Speaker 5: and all the people at storm Track or thirteen on
• 12:02
Speaker 5: social media, you should because Brian from time to time
• 12:05
Speaker 5: has been known to jostle a little bit back and
• 12:08
Speaker 5: forth with people on social You got to stop doing that, Brian.
• 12:11
Speaker 6: Well yeah, and this is what drives me crazy.
• 12:14
Speaker 7: By the way, just so you know, our kids that
• 12:17
Speaker 7: are anywhere from about the mid twenties on down sometimes
• 12:20
Speaker 7: even in the low thirties, they don't have a clue
• 12:22
Speaker 7: where they live on a map.
• 12:23
Speaker 6: And he's fascinating to me.
• 12:25
Speaker 7: And so when they go, well what about, like you
• 12:28
Speaker 7: said earlier, you know what about at my house it's
• 12:31
Speaker 7: Ravenswood or in you know you know who.
• 12:34
Speaker 6: Knows Pike fol or Ironton.
• 12:36
Speaker 7: Well guess what if you can't read the map, We've
• 12:38
Speaker 7: got bigger issues and now you should not worry about
• 12:40
Speaker 7: how much you're going to get.
• 12:41
Speaker 5: It's not just the kids, Brian. I saw a comment
• 12:44
Speaker 5: on your social media about an hour ago when somebody
• 12:46
Speaker 5: and this was this lady looking at her picture. She
• 12:50
Speaker 5: was not a kid, Brian. She was an older lady
• 12:52
Speaker 5: who wanted to know specifically about a particular town and
• 12:56
Speaker 5: is like, you can't look at the map and you
• 12:58
  Speaker 5: can't see it.
• 12:58
  Speaker 3: I don't. I don't.
• 12:59
  Speaker 5: I don't get that, and I don't understand why people
• 13:01
Speaker 5: want to argue with scientists over science stuff.
• 13:05
Speaker 8: You know, Oh, it fascinates me. And and by the way,
• 13:10
Speaker 8: just see you. I said it on Facebook a couple
• 13:12
Speaker 8: of times. Somebody is like, oh, this is wrong, It's
• 13:14
Speaker 8: not gonna happen. I'm like, just you know, my batting
• 13:16
Speaker 8: average is above nine hundred. So's let's move along here.
• 13:21
Speaker 8: Your joke about being right fifty percent of the time
• 13:24
Speaker 8: is funny because guess what I get paid tomorrow.
• 13:29
  Speaker 3: You go right.
• 13:30
Speaker 5: We're lucky to have you here bad in the valley,
• 13:32
Speaker 5: and not only for the weather stuff that you do,
• 13:34
Speaker 5: but also everything you do in the community. I appreciate
• 13:36
Speaker 5: you being here. Bottom line is we'll ending on this
• 13:39
Speaker 5: is just keep eye on the weather because it is
• 13:41
Speaker 5: gonna get really nasty one way or the other. We
• 13:44

Speaker 6: Then we're gonna have that January thaw that week four,

• 14:08
Speaker 6: it is winter. It's supposed to do.

Speaker 5: As the next well, extreme weather is a part of

Speaker 3: for being here. I don't think Hobby's going to hang

Speaker 3: it up, by the way. I think he'll change his
• 20:13
Speaker 3: mind and he'll probably say that on Friday. And look,

Speaker 3: they've hired me, so they're stuck with me. Now. I'll

Speaker 3: just come in here and ramp with you every day.

• 20:24
Speaker 3: don't have too many points on my license. I think
• 20:26
  Speaker 3: I qualify.
• 20:27
Speaker 5: So I'm n's talk about this call up that you,
• 20:30
Speaker 5: you and Wilson got to take over talk Line from
• 20:33
Speaker 5: the Goat starting on Monday.
• 20:36
Speaker 3: You know, surreal because you talk about talk Line with
• 20:40
Speaker 3: Hobby Kerchieval. It's kind of like Kleenex, right, everybody says
• 20:42
Speaker 3: it's band Aid clean X happy, and you know, talk
• 20:47
Speaker 3: Line is a creation of Hoppy Kerchieval. It is. It
• 20:52
Speaker 3: is Hobby Kerchieval and what he does. I first started
• 20:55
Speaker 3: working for this company. I think it was eighteen or
• 20:56
Speaker 3: nineteen back in the day. I was an night time
• 21:00
  Speaker 3: DJ on one O two w V a Q of
• 21:03
Speaker 3: Morgantown and had interned here in Charleston a little bit.
• 21:08
  Speaker 2: Uh.
• 21:08
Speaker 3: But to get to work around a guy like that
• 21:11
Speaker 3: and just shut up and learn and see what he
• 21:15
Speaker 3: does and how he does it, and his pursuit of
• 21:18
Speaker 3: excellence in what he does. You can't fake that. You
• 21:22
Speaker 3: can't do that at the level he does it unless
• 21:24
Speaker 3: you're extremely passionate about what you do. And he's been
• 21:28
Speaker 3: a great teacher for I know everybody in this building
• 21:31
Speaker 3: and countless, countless many more that have gone on to
• 21:33
Speaker 3: other places and done other things. So it will always
• 21:37
Speaker 3: be talk Line, and it will always be Hoppy. It's
• 21:39
Speaker 3: kind of like one of those things in the back
• 21:41
Speaker 3: of your mind when you hear talk line, you should
• 21:42
Speaker 3: you should automatically put in created by Hoppy Kerchive. I
• 21:46
Speaker 3: like that. I laugh at that, but I know it is.
• 21:48
  Speaker 3: It's it's it's a credit and it's it's deserved. And
• 21:52
Speaker 3: so the challenge that Wilson and I are going to
• 21:55
Speaker 3: face is keeping the Kerchival standard. But we're both, i
• 22:00
Speaker 3: would say, students of Hobby Kerchival. We talked about Monday,
• 22:03
Speaker 3: what are we going to do Monday, and both of
• 22:05
Speaker 3: us instantly said, we're gonna come out and dow talk
• 22:07
Speaker 3: Line the way Hobby's always done it, and focus on
• 22:09
Speaker 3: the show and the issues and the listeners, and we'll
• 22:13
Speaker 3: give it our darntess every day to do that.
• 22:15
Speaker 5: And of course, so you guys got a little bit
• 22:17
Speaker 5: of a trial run a couple of weeks ago when
• 22:19
Speaker 5: Hockey was on vacation, but this Monday you'll go for real.
• 22:22
Speaker 5: And what a time to be taking over. I mean,
• 22:25
Speaker 5: so many changes going on. I mean it starts in
• 22:28
Speaker 5: the White House. Everything that's old is new again. New
• 22:31
Speaker 5: US Senator and Jim Justin, new governor and Patrick Morrison.
• 22:34
Speaker 5: Now none of these names are new to West Virginia
• 22:37
Speaker 5: as far as political the political arena, but you got
• 22:40
Speaker 5: new leadership in the Senate, new Senate president, and the
• 22:42
Speaker 5: legislature will be gabbling in only to gabble out and
• 22:45
Speaker 5: then come back. You got it's a great time to
• 22:47
Speaker 5: be coming in with everything new.
• 22:48
Speaker 3: It is and it's exciting times. And that's what you
• 22:51
Speaker 3: want if you do a show like talk line. You know,
• 22:53
Speaker 3: talk line, let's talk about what talk line isn't. In
• 22:56
Speaker 3: my mind, talk line is not what you hear from.
• 23:01
Speaker 3: And I'm not knocking these folks, but it's not a
• 23:03
Speaker 3: rush all the rushes is certainly has his place. It's
• 23:08
Speaker 3: not a Hannity, It's not a Bongino in that the
• 23:12
Speaker 3: opinion of the host and the host is pontificating for
• 23:15
Speaker 3: two hours. It's about an ongoing debate pro con independent
• 23:23
Speaker 3: both sides of the fence, what people think, and how
• 23:26
Speaker 3: that narrative comes together and that debate comes together to
• 23:30
Speaker 3: make West Virginia better. So when you do a show
• 23:33
Speaker 3: like that, you want interesting things to talk about, You
• 23:36
Speaker 3: want to explore things, and frankly, as a host, I
• 23:40
Speaker 3: think you want to go into it with an open
• 23:42
Speaker 3: mind and you don't necessarily want to always have an
• 23:47
Speaker 3: opinion on things. You want to form that opinion over
• 23:48
Speaker 3: time based on the debate that you have with your
• 23:50
Speaker 3: guests and the debate that you have with your listeners.
• 23:53
Speaker 3: And that's a good word. Debates a wonderful word, and you.
• 23:55
Speaker 5: Can learn a lot from your listeners. I mean, I've
• 23:57
Speaker 5: been doing this show for four years and there are
• 24:01
Speaker 5: every day I get a call or a text or
• 24:03
Speaker 5: something that's well, I really hadn't thought about it that way.
• 24:06
Speaker 5: Maybe it doesn't always necessarily change your mind, but at
• 24:09
Speaker 5: least it's a different way of looking at things. And
• 24:13
Speaker 5: politics is now TJ, as you well know, has become
• 24:16
Speaker 5: so national and the listeners have heard me use this
• 24:19
Speaker 5: are probably tired of me using this expression. But you
• 24:21
Speaker 5: can't run for assessor in Wetzel County without saying, well,
• 24:24
Speaker 5: a vote for John Smith is a vote for Joe Biden,
• 24:27
Speaker 5: or it's a vote for Donald Trump or whatever, you know,
• 24:29
Speaker 5: because that's just where we are. Comparing contrast that to
• 24:34
Speaker 5: how it was when Hoppy started doing talk line years ago.
• 24:37
Speaker 5: I mean, there was some talk obviously, because there's some
• 24:39
Speaker 5: big stories of that time, Bill Clinton and you know,
• 24:42
Speaker 5: I'm just things come off the top of my head,
• 24:44
Speaker 5: but primarily the focus was on West Virginia and it
• 24:47
Speaker 5: still is the majority of the show.
• 24:50
  Speaker 3: Okay, but there's.
• 24:51
Speaker 5: Still a lot of there's a lot more national stuff
• 24:54
Speaker 5: than what there is now because again, more people because
• 24:56
Speaker 5: of social media, because of Fox News, because of CNN. Uh,
• 25:01
Speaker 5: these national entities that have pretty much served as a
• 25:05
Speaker 5: mouthpiece for one side or the other. Now people are
• 25:10
Speaker 5: more plugged in, which is good, but it's also bad
• 25:14
Speaker 5: because there's a lot of misinformation being thrown out there
• 25:18
  Speaker 5: as well.
• 25:18
Speaker 3: Your take, well, Dave Drama sells, I think, and I
• 25:22
Speaker 3: would argue that a lot of the outlets you talked
• 25:24
Speaker 3: about social media, especially you know that that's infotainment. Yeah,
• 25:29
Speaker 3: and you know you have to sell that. Whereas I
• 25:31
Speaker 3: think what what Metro News has done under people like
• 25:35
Speaker 3: like Hoppy and Dale Miller. You know, you can't leave
• 25:39
Speaker 3: Dale Miller out of the conversation when you talk about
• 25:41
Speaker 3: Metro News and what it stands for. And what it's
• 25:43
Speaker 3: programming has become. He was, you know, former president and
• 25:47
Speaker 3: CEO of the company, basically grew the company from a
• 25:49
Speaker 3: couple of radio stations up until what it is now,
• 25:51
Speaker 3: and was a wonderful programmer, genius programmer. This company has
• 25:56
Speaker 3: intentionally stayed away from that, and we still focus on
• 26:00
Speaker 3: news at the heart of everything and educating a listener,
• 26:04
Speaker 3: not just to entertain them. Yes we entertain, but we
• 26:07
Speaker 3: do it in a way that doesn't you know, dismiss facts.
• 26:10
Speaker 3: At the end of the day, my goal is to
• 26:12
Speaker 3: frame a story correctly so that all sides of that
• 26:15
Speaker 3: story are exposed and a listener, as an independent person,
• 26:19
Speaker 3: can decide what he or she wants to think based
• 26:21
Speaker 3: on the information that we give them. You know, Steyirwalt
• 26:24
Speaker 3: said the other day on talk line. I thought it
• 26:26
Speaker 3: was quite brilliant. He said, you know, I want to
• 26:28
Speaker 3: be boring because if I'm being boring and I'm providing
• 26:31
Speaker 3: news to people and I'm educating them and they have
• 26:34
Speaker 3: the information they need to decide what they think, especially
• 26:38
Speaker 3: when they show up at a voting booth, I'm doing
• 26:39
Speaker 3: my job and there's something to be said for that.
• 26:41
Speaker 3: And that's what I hope that we continue to do here.
• 26:43
Speaker 3: We're not about clickbait, and I don't think we ever
• 26:45
Speaker 3: will be talking to t J. Meadows.
• 26:47
Speaker 5: And by the way, Dave Wilson will be the other
• 26:50
Speaker 5: half of that do Dave does a show similar to
• 26:52
Speaker 5: mine in Morgantown at nine o'clock. So that's why I
• 26:55
Speaker 5: don't have mister Wilson on the show today because he's
• 26:58
Speaker 5: kind of busy at this time. Dave and I actually
• 27:01
Speaker 5: talked about one time about doing a show like a simulcast,
• 27:04
Speaker 5: like you know, he and Morgantown and me here. That
• 27:07
Speaker 5: would be really but I don't know. Maybe you know,
• 27:11
Speaker 5: I'm not sure whether he's going to continue to do
• 27:13
Speaker 5: the local show in Morgantown or not, because it would
• 27:15
Speaker 5: be really difficult to do an hour long show from
• 27:17
Speaker 5: nine to ten and then jump in and do a
• 27:19
Speaker 5: network show from ten to new I don't know whether
• 27:21
  Speaker 5: he is.
• 27:21
Speaker 3: Or not, so subject to check. I'll qualify with that.
• 27:25
Speaker 3: I do not believe that mister Wilson will continue on
• 27:28
Speaker 3: Talk of the Town in Morgan that's a local show there.
• 27:31
Speaker 3: Somebody else will take that over. If you happen to
• 27:33
Speaker 3: be a guy like me, spend a lot of time
• 27:35
Speaker 3: in Morgantown, a lot of time in the southern part
• 27:36
Speaker 3: of the state. And you've listened to w AJAR and
• 27:38
Speaker 3: WHS and you know the local programming. You may remember
• 27:42
Speaker 3: some of the folks from Morgantown AM. I'd be worth
• 27:44
Speaker 3: checking out his podcast. He had a bunch of his
• 27:46
Speaker 3: former co hosts on the show, people like Kay Murray
• 27:49
Speaker 3: and Sir John Wiles and others. It was. It was
• 27:51
Speaker 3: good radio. It'd be something to go back to the
• 27:52
Speaker 3: podcast and listen to.
• 27:54
Speaker 5: But Dave Old showing five any line presumed to depart

• 28:08
Speaker 5: to you. I do want to get into this story
• 28:11
Speaker 5: in New Orleans kind of get your your take on it.
• 28:13
Speaker 3: But you have a couple of texts here.
• 28:15
Speaker 5: TJ text says, this debate forms my opinion, stuff is
• 28:18
Speaker 5: a farce. Tell us when this has ever happened to
• 28:21
Speaker 5: either Dave or TJ. Can't speak for Dave because he's
• 28:24
Speaker 5: not here, I'm presuming they're talking about Wilson, But what
• 28:27
Speaker 5: about you, mister meadows Well, debate is a farce? Why
• 28:32
Speaker 5: is the debate of farce? This debate forms my opinion?
• 28:35
Speaker 5: Stuff is farce? Says a texture. Tell us when this
• 28:38
Speaker 5: has ever happened to either Dave or TJ.
• 28:42
Speaker 3: Well. You know, Look, that's the path of least resistance,
• 28:49
Speaker 3: isn't it is to just form a camp and not
• 28:52
Speaker 3: make up your opinion based on fact and have those
• 28:56
Speaker 3: opinions formed by debate. Isn't that the easy way to
• 28:58
Speaker 3: do it? Just hop on the train and go. So
• 29:01
Speaker 3: if the assertion is that we're challenging the status quo
• 29:04
Speaker 3: and doing something different, thank you for the compliment.
• 29:06
Speaker 5: We are text says, I agree that the clickbait style
• 29:10
Speaker 5: broadcasting is not a good thing, but no talk show
• 29:13
Speaker 5: host should ever strive to be boring. That's a recipe
• 29:15
Speaker 5: for lowering listenership. I say that as a listener, I'm
• 29:18
Speaker 5: not going to listen to a boring program. Facts aren't boring.
• 29:22
Speaker 5: I think though, maybe the text are there and I'm
• 29:24
Speaker 5: not trying to get into their head, but I think
• 29:25
Speaker 5: maybe they're taking that maybe literally because Styrawald it's far
• 29:29
Speaker 5: from from from boring.
• 29:30
  Speaker 3: No, No, it's it's not boring. I guess what I
• 29:32
Speaker 3: mean by that. And it's good qualification is to say
• 29:37
Speaker 3: that if something comes out of my mouth, I need
• 29:41
Speaker 3: to be able to back it up with facts. One
• 29:43
Speaker 3: of the things that bothers me about X and other
• 29:45
Speaker 3: social media. You'll see folks say report and then let's
• 29:49
Speaker 3: say this and this, right, they can't quote a source. Yep.
• 29:52
Speaker 5: That We saw that all day yesterday. We saw that
• 29:55
Speaker 5: all day with the New Orleans story, which I would
• 29:57
  Speaker 5: get to.
• 29:57
Speaker 3: I mean all day it was. I mean, I think
• 29:59
Speaker 3: X toxic. I'm gonna be honest with you.
• 30:01
Speaker 5: I mean, you know, Facebook and can can we just
• 30:04
Speaker 5: go back to putting pictures of your food and cats?
• 30:06
Speaker 5: And like I do you know? In sports and whatever
• 30:09
Speaker 5: X is, X is absolutely toxic. Now that having been said,
• 30:14
Speaker 5: I use it, but I use it as a vehicle
• 30:16
Speaker 5: for this show and for the other the the other
• 30:20
Speaker 5: shows that are our network produces, and to push w
• 30:23
Speaker 5: In Marshall Sports and that sort of thing. Very rarely
• 30:25
Speaker 5: do I ever put an opinion on it because I
• 30:27
Speaker 5: think it's complete garbage of it.
• 30:29
  Speaker 3: But that's just me. X is a tool. It's just
• 30:32
Speaker 3: a tool, and that's one way to put it. It's
• 30:34
Speaker 3: how you use that tool. I mean, look, I can
• 30:36
Speaker 3: put a shovel in the front yard, but if no
• 30:38
Speaker 3: one digs a hole, you get no result. Right, It's
• 30:40
Speaker 3: it's all about the users. And make your wife get
• 30:42
Speaker 3: out there and dig that hole. Obviously you don't know
• 30:46
  Speaker 3: my wife.
• 30:46
Speaker 5: If your wife digs a hole, your chances are you're
• 30:48
Speaker 5: going in it. If you're like like my house, Texas.
• 30:52
Speaker 5: Hoppy is going to be sitting at home one day
• 30:54
Speaker 5: then suddenly spew out jackpots in the millions.
• 30:56
Speaker 3: Who doesn't want to be a millionaire? That's it.
• 30:58
Speaker 5: And let me just say Hoppy is retired from Talk Line.
• 31:00
Speaker 5: I had him on the show a couple of weeks ago.
• 31:02
Speaker 5: Hobby's still going to be around here paying make an
• 31:04
Speaker 5: appearance on talk Line from time to time. Oh absolutely,
• 31:06
Speaker 5: uh And and he's going to be down here for
• 31:08
Speaker 5: the state tournament. I understand Three Guys Before the Game
• 31:11
Speaker 5: is a podcasts uh with with Brad Howell and CAREDI
• 31:15
Speaker 5: is going to continue.
• 31:16
Speaker 3: He's still going to be around.
• 31:17
Speaker 5: He's just not going to do that. He said he
• 31:19
Speaker 5: may do a commentary from time to time. He's just
• 31:21
Speaker 5: not going to do the daily grind of doing a
• 31:24
Speaker 5: talk show like that. And I can tell you, and
• 31:26
Speaker 5: I'm not, by any stretch of the imagination, trying to
• 31:29
Speaker 5: compare myself to Hoppy Courgeful. But I know what, believe
• 31:32
Speaker 5: it or not, I actually do preparation for this show.
• 31:34
Speaker 5: I know what one hour of show is. So when
• 31:38
Speaker 5: you're at that level, and I get the at least
• 31:41
Speaker 5: for now, I get the advantage of not being on camera.
• 31:46
Speaker 5: That's going to change here in a couple of weeks
• 31:48
Speaker 5: because the show and everything else we do is going
• 31:50
Speaker 5: to be on camera. But I don't necessarily have to,
• 31:53
Speaker 5: you know, be mindful of a camera looking at me.
• 31:56
Speaker 5: That's different when you're doing sports line. We're doing talk line,
• 31:58
Speaker 5: and eventually all of our shows hot Line is going
• 32:00
Speaker 5: to be on camera as well.
• 32:03
Speaker 3: Let me see here, Well, I was just going to
• 32:04
Speaker 3: say the amount of preparation, I mean, it's it's staggering.
• 32:07
Speaker 3: And I would never compare myself to Hopy either. But
• 32:10
Speaker 3: typically on a daily basis, you know, I read the
• 32:12
Speaker 3: Wall Street Journal, in New York Times, AP, Bloomberg, Politico.
• 32:17
Speaker 3: There are some industry rags that I read quite a
• 32:20
Speaker 3: bit and that was all for the job that I
• 32:22
Speaker 3: did and being prepared in the energy sector. That is
• 32:27
Speaker 3: a slither of what Kerchief will read. So yeah, I mean,
• 32:31
Speaker 3: and so no one can out goat the.
• 32:33
Speaker 5: Goat Texas First, Hopy is retiring. Then before you know it,
• 32:37
Speaker 5: it'll be Fred Persinger, Chris Lawrence, Tony Kredi, and Stephen
• 32:40
Speaker 5: Jenny West. Virginia Radio is going to look and sound
• 32:42
Speaker 5: completely different in the next five to ten years.
• 32:44
Speaker 3: Sucks getting old. Well, here's the thing.
• 32:46
Speaker 5: I mean, Number one, none of those people are retiring
• 32:47
Speaker 5: anytime soon. I can tell you Fred Persinger will retire
• 32:50
Speaker 5: when they when the building is no longer here, he
• 32:53
Speaker 5: will be the last one to go. But I can
• 32:56
Speaker 5: also say this is changes not necessarily.
• 33:00
  Speaker 3: A bad thing.
• 33:01
Speaker 5: No, it's and every now and then we're all gonna
• 33:03
Speaker 5: you know, we're all going to be victims or we're
• 33:05
Speaker 5: going to be the recipients of good change.
• 33:07
Speaker 3: Who knows. All right, I do want to get to

• 36:19
Speaker 5: I do want to talk a little bit more about
• 36:20
  Speaker 5: this event.
• 36:21
Speaker 3: Early New Year's morning in New Orleans where the.
• 36:23
Speaker 5: Driver of a Ford pickup, an American by the way,
• 36:26
Speaker 5: an American citizen, an Army veteran, intentionally drove into a
• 36:29
Speaker 5: crowd on Bourbon Street around three am or so in
• 36:32
Speaker 5: the morning, killing fifteen and wonted many others. Certainly a tragedy.
• 36:38
Speaker 3: TJ. Overall your thoughts. If there were ever a reminder
• 36:43
Speaker 3: that evil is real in this world, you needn't look
• 36:47
Speaker 3: further than what happened yesterday. Fifteen dead, twenty five injured.
• 36:50
Speaker 3: That's going to go up, according to the FBI from
• 36:53
Speaker 3: what we hear in reports this morning, forty two year
• 36:56
Speaker 3: old Texas born man who served in the Armed Forces
• 37:01
Speaker 3: of the United States and Texas born didn't come here.
• 37:04
Speaker 3: That's important. The initial reports about you know, this vehicle
• 37:08
Speaker 3: coming across the border and all these kinds of things
• 37:10
Speaker 3: not accurate. And the first place I saw that was
• 37:13
Speaker 3: on X Yeah, not accurate, not accurate at all. You know,
• 37:18
Speaker 3: the question becomes, how does this man become and doctrinated.
• 37:21
Speaker 3: There's a piece in the Wall Street Journal this morning
• 37:23
Speaker 3: talking about he'd had a rough go in his personal life,
• 37:26
Speaker 3: successful in climbing the corporate ladder with Deloitte. He was
• 37:30
Speaker 3: a consultant going through a divorce, faced financial difficulties as
• 37:34
Speaker 3: a result of that, how does this person become radicalized?
• 37:38
Speaker 3: And in my mind, aside from from the sorrow and
• 37:42
Speaker 3: solemness of the day yesterday that we feel for the
• 37:44
Speaker 3: victims and the families, the question becomes, how do we
• 37:49
Speaker 3: put aside a lot of the petty bickering that we
• 37:52
Speaker 3: have back and forth on a lot of the hot
• 37:54
Speaker 3: topic political issues. We talked about the clickbait and come
• 37:57
Speaker 3: to the realization of what we've always known, which is
• 38:00
Speaker 3: freedom is under attack and always will be. There are
• 38:03
Speaker 3: entities out there, terrorist groups, radical religious groups that are
• 38:08
Speaker 3: intolerant of the American system and the freedom that we have.
• 38:11
Speaker 3: There are nation states for that fact. I mean you
• 38:13
Speaker 3: look for the China HACKEDUS last week with the Treasury Department.
• 38:15
Speaker 3: I continue to rail on the fact that the Chinese
• 38:19
Speaker 3: are not trustworthy. They are posturing, They're growing their military.
• 38:22
Speaker 3: They're navy now outweighs ours in number account. It's approaching
• 38:25
Speaker 3: tonnage count. Russia and North Korea are obviously incohoots against Ukraine.
• 38:30
Speaker 3: I'm not saying that we should be spending all the
• 38:32
Speaker 3: money that we do on Ukraine. But we have to
• 38:33
Speaker 3: realize that these are nation states that are communists. And
• 38:36
Speaker 3: you know, we thought communism died with the Cold War,
• 38:39
Speaker 3: didn't It's live and well we got to get our
• 38:41
Speaker 3: eye on the ball, Dave. And I think that's the
• 38:43
Speaker 3: overarching story here, at least in my mind, is that
• 38:46
Speaker 3: we need to refocus. You know, I grew up in
• 38:48
Speaker 3: a time. I'm just a southern West Virginia Boom County boy,
• 38:52
Speaker 3: but I grew up in one of the best places
• 38:54
Speaker 3: in the world in my mind, and that was a
• 38:56
Speaker 3: small community called community called Silvester, West Virginia that a
• 39:00
Speaker 3: small town of about seven hundred and fifty people is
• 39:03
Speaker 3: like a four blockdown. I had some phenomenal role examples
• 39:07
Speaker 3: to grow up in one of those. Two of those families,
• 39:10
Speaker 3: the Arvon Price family. You may have heard of, the
• 39:12
Speaker 3: Arvonns in Boone County, extraordinarily patriotic, first generation Americans from Greece.
• 39:19
Speaker 3: Georgie Price, who was a member of that family, married
• 39:21
Speaker 3: into the Price family same way. She was my principal
• 39:24
Speaker 3: from elementary school through junior high school. Drummed into us
• 39:28
Speaker 3: what America was and how others and other countries did
• 39:33
Speaker 3: not have freedom and really molded who I became and
• 39:38
Speaker 3: taught us to appreciate the fact that freedom is not free.
• 39:40
Speaker 3: There are prices, blood has been spilt, and we've become
• 39:44
Speaker 3: so distance from that today. Much of our generation, in
• 39:47
Speaker 3: our youth today don't understand that there are others in
• 39:50
Speaker 3: the world that are intolerant of the freedoms that we
• 39:52
Speaker 3: have here, and that freedom had to be transacted right,
• 39:56
Speaker 3: it had to be earned, wasn't given to us. There's
• 39:58
Speaker 3: people that don't want us to have it. And in
• 40:00
Speaker 3: my mind, when I think about New Orleans, we've lost
• 40:03
Speaker 3: that example. We've lost that teaching in our youth, and
• 40:07
Speaker 3: we need to get it back. And we need to
• 40:08
Speaker 3: realize that there are people, organizations, nation states, in this
• 40:13
Speaker 3: world that very much wish us harm and in this
• 40:17
Speaker 3: country and in this country that have become radicalized, and
• 40:20
Speaker 3: how have they become radicalized in this country? And we
• 40:23
  Speaker 3: got to stop.
• 40:24
Speaker 5: I agree with you everything you said, TJ, but we've
• 40:26
Speaker 5: also got to get away from this again. Yesterday, I've
• 40:31
Speaker 5: spent a lot of time, you know, watching delving into
• 40:33
  Speaker 5: this story.
• 40:34
Speaker 3: Yesterday, watching the press conference.
• 40:35
Speaker 5: By the way, I will say this about the press conference,
• 40:37
Speaker 5: there were ever a primer on how to not conduct
• 40:41
Speaker 5: a press conference of the folks in New Orleans hit
• 40:45
Speaker 5: it out of the park on that on how not
• 40:46
Speaker 5: to do it, because that was the biggest cluster, you
• 40:49
Speaker 5: know what that I have ever seen. Compare and contrasts
• 40:52
Speaker 5: that to the press conference that was held in Vegas
• 40:56
Speaker 5: last night on that situation, and that guy I handled
• 40:58
Speaker 5: it perfectly. It was embarrassing that press conference in New
• 41:02
Speaker 5: Orleans just day from the officials Republican and Democrat. It
• 41:04
Speaker 5: was an absolute embarrassment. But they got a lot of
• 41:09
Speaker 5: questions to answer there in New Orleans.
• 41:11
Speaker 3: And again you don't.
• 41:11
Speaker 5: Want to look like your quote unquote victim shaming, but
• 41:13
Speaker 5: they got a heck of a lot of questions to answer.
• 41:15
Speaker 5: Ballerm well, I mean the police chief said, I swear it.
• 41:21
Speaker 5: It reminded me of a scene of smoking and a
• 41:22
Speaker 5: bandit because the teacher, the police chief said, well, we
• 41:26
Speaker 5: had a burry pert up, but he went around. It
• 41:28
Speaker 5: was that something that Junior would have said, the sun
• 41:30
Speaker 5: in smoking a bandit when he said, Daddy, he wrecked
• 41:33
  Speaker 5: my police car.
• 41:34
Speaker 3: You know what the heck is this all about.
• 41:36
Speaker 5: But but but anyway, yesterday, as soon as it happened

Speaker 5: that I woke up. I was not up at three
• 41:40
Speaker 5: point fifteen, by the way, yesterday when I found out
• 41:42
Speaker 5: about it, when I woke up like most people did.
• 41:44
Speaker 5: And then you go to X and you go to
• 41:46
Speaker 5: and this, well, this is what happens when it's Biden's America.
• 41:49
Speaker 5: This is this is the open border that caused us.
• 41:52
Speaker 5: And then it on the other hand, is well, this
• 41:54
Speaker 5: is Trump, this is this is Trump's this is what
• 41:56
Speaker 5: Trump because none of this ever happened before Biden and
• 41:59
Speaker 5: Trump ever came a There was never a nine to eleven.
• 42:01
Speaker 5: There was never the original bombing of the World Trade
• 42:05
Speaker 5: Center in the early nineties. It was never a Timothy McVeigh.
• 42:07
Speaker 5: None of this ever happened before Biden and Trump.
• 42:10
Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, the border issue, you know, and I am
• 42:14
Speaker 3: a fan of President Trump's economic policies. I'm on record
• 42:18
Speaker 3: as saying that I also have problems with the way
• 42:22
Speaker 3: the President conducts himself in many instances. And going to
• 42:25
Speaker 3: truth Social yesterday and talking about this is what happens
• 42:28
Speaker 3: when you don't secure the border. From a guy who's
• 42:30
Speaker 3: from America, from a guy who's from America, you know,
• 42:33
  Speaker 3: I think that's a stretch and it's a stretch. I'm
• 42:36
Speaker 3: trying to be diplomatic here. It's just it's not accurate.
• 42:40
Speaker 3: I mean, you're right, and it doesn't help the situation
• 42:43
Speaker 3: and conflating those two issues. Now, do I think the
• 42:46
Speaker 3: border should be locked up secure? Nobody? Absolutely, I do.
• 42:51
Speaker 3: But to say what happened yesterday as a result of
• 42:54
Speaker 3: something with the border, I just don't make that connection. Now.
• 42:58
Speaker 3: If months from now there's some kind of radical lized
• 43:02
Speaker 3: group that was able to come into the country and
• 43:04
Speaker 3: indoctrinate this guy one to one and they slipped through
• 43:06
  Speaker 3: the border, we'll have a conversation about that. I don't
• 43:09
Speaker 3: see that yet. There there's been no evidence that that
• 43:12
  Speaker 3: that's what happened.
• 43:12
  Speaker 8: Now.
• 43:13
Speaker 3: I do others know more than I do, absolutely, But
• 43:16
Speaker 3: I'm just not seeing the connection on the two. And
• 43:19
Speaker 3: maybe the evidence will point me to that. But I'm
• 43:21
Speaker 3: one to tend to wait till the facts are in
• 43:23
Speaker 3: and then I'll make a conclusion. But that's me.
• 43:25
Speaker 5: Let me see Texas, the terrorist New Orleans was just

• 47:13
  Speaker 3: It's just a fact.
• 47:14
Speaker 5: Most people don't want to admit it because they hail
• 47:16
Speaker 5: from broken families themselves, and they don't pay attention to God.
• 47:20
Speaker 3: Says a texture. I gotta tell you, I think the
• 47:22
Speaker 3: breakdown of the family in America and a lot of
• 47:25
Speaker 3: that strength does If you're like me and you're a
• 47:28
Speaker 3: follower of Jesus Christ. It does frame your thinking, and
• 47:31
Speaker 3: it does frame your family situation. And I'm not going
• 47:34
Speaker 3: to tell somebody, you know, what religion they should subscribe to.
• 47:37
Speaker 3: But yeah, the American family to say that it's not
• 47:41
Speaker 3: broken down, I mean absolutely text or spot.
• 47:43
Speaker 5: On it, and I agree with that. But as somebody

• 47:47
Speaker 5: you family doesn't necessarily have to be mom and dad,

Speaker 3: No, I agree, Texas.
• 48:04
Speaker 5: My issue is with the coverage of WVU. Will have
• 48:07
Speaker 5: a Marshall slant like the show is, and Wilson is
• 48:10
Speaker 5: a big Marshall fan like Allan is. Also, well, I
• 48:13
Speaker 5: went to Marshall, but I'm also a WVU fan and
• 48:16
Speaker 5: you TJ went to both?
• 48:17
Speaker 3: Right, didn't you go to both? I did not. I'm
• 48:19
Speaker 3: a WV alum. I thought I thought you did.
• 48:21
Speaker 5: Work at Marshall at some point. Okay, well, there's still
• 48:25
  Speaker 5: time to correct.
• 48:26
Speaker 3: That with them. Kaddy I'm kiddy, and I'm kiddy. I
• 48:29
Speaker 3: have nothing now. My wife teaches at Marshall. Maybe that's
• 48:31
Speaker 3: what you're thinking about. Look, I'm a fan of both institutions,
• 48:35
Speaker 3: and I root for both institutions. But if WVU is
• 48:38
Speaker 3: playing Marshall in Tittley Wings Go Mountaineers, there you go.
• 48:41
Speaker 5: With, then that's the way you should be. Yeah, Texas,
• 48:44
Speaker 5: we are free, but at what cost? And who is
• 48:45
Speaker 5: footing the bill? Really says a texture Texas says TJ.
• 48:50
Speaker 5: Don't start drumming up the Cold War red scare nine
• 48:52

• 48:55

• 49:00
Speaker 5: Dems and Republicans, their inability to work together for all

• 49:34
Speaker 3: me that a build up of the navy in China
• 49:36
Speaker 3: that's documented. You're telling me their documented stance towards Taiwan
• 49:41

Speaker 3: communist China is our friend.

Speaker 5: but we have been attacked plenty in the last four
• 50:06

• 50:10
Speaker 5: a Texter. I'm not not arguing with that, texture, says TJ.
• 50:14
Speaker 5: And Dave Wilson will have a heavy load replacing Hoppy.
• 50:16
Speaker 5: They need to be very confrontational with the gasos. Hoppy
• 50:19
Speaker 5: has always done asking the hard questions of getting answer
• 50:23
Speaker 5: from the citizens of West Virginia. Thanks Dave, Texas.
• 50:26
Speaker 3: Freedom is not permission to do whatever we want.
• 50:28
Speaker 5: It's the power to do what we ought. We use
• 50:33
Speaker 5: the word ought enough in that sense. I don't I
• 50:37
Speaker 5: think you have to use it with the bridge, Texas.
• 50:38
Speaker 5: I heard yesterday I was watching something. They were talking
• 50:41
Speaker 5: about the early two thousands as the aughts.
• 50:43
Speaker 3: The odds. That's why I've heard that. That's what we're called.

Speaker 5: Tex says the guy who ran over those people did
• 50:47
Speaker 5: it for Allah, who's the same God of Christianity, and
• 50:49
Speaker 5: Judae is Judas. Religious nut jobs of any religion are
• 50:53
Speaker 5: the problem. They can't live and let live. I put
• 50:57
Speaker 5: it on the t for you on that one, TJ.
• 51:00
Speaker 3: Y's a radical ge hottist And this may ruffle feathers
• 51:04
Speaker 3: if you talk about controversy. Look, radical Islam is not
• 51:07
Speaker 3: the same as Islam that's coming from again, a follower
• 51:09
  Speaker 3: of Jesus Christ.
• 51:11
Speaker 5: Any more than Westboro Baptist is a follower of christianitay.
• 51:14
Speaker 3: Bingo, and are they radicalized? Was this guy's the hottest? Absolutely? Okay,
• 51:21
Speaker 3: already read that one? All right? Well, TJ. I'll tell you,
• 51:23
Speaker 3: it's been fun having you. Hold on, hold on.
• 51:25
Speaker 5: I got conservatives like military members when they're fighting a
• 51:28
Speaker 5: dying for America, they don't like having to support their
• 51:30
Speaker 5: mental and physical health care needs. I agree with that,
• 51:33
  Speaker 5: I agree completely, and I will say Conservatives, I'll I'll
• 51:36
Speaker 5: say the country wants to forget about them once they're
• 51:38
Speaker 5: done with them. That happens more often than you would think,
• 51:41
Speaker 5: speaking to someone whose father died because of its service

  Speaker 5: in Vietnam.
• 51:44
Speaker 3: The fact that there is one homeless veteran in this country,

Speaker 3: and there are many, is a testament to how poorly
• 51:52
Speaker 3: we have let those who serve this country.
• 51:53
Speaker 5: Now, TJ, it's been fun. This will be the last
• 51:55
Speaker 5: time I'll have you on. I guess before you take
• 51:57
Speaker 5: over the big chair on Monday. Well, maybe you'll have
• 51:59
Speaker 5: me back. Maybe, maybe maybe you'll have me on your show. Absolutely,
• 52:04
Speaker 5: is it gonna be TJ and Dave or David TJ.
• 52:06
Speaker 5: Inquiring minds want to know it's Daven TJ. Okay, David TJ.
