Don Wilson Locked in the Den
Aired: Jan 30th, 1949. Jack Benny takes hostage-negotiation tactics to a new low, barricading announcer Don Wilson in the den until he signs his contract, while poor Rochester recalls his own two-year captivity that ended thanks to General MacArthur. Meanwhile Dennis Day drops by unannounced, Mary Livingstone razzes Jack about his slipping toupee, and a sneezing, feather-shedding parrot named Polly steals the show with a mustard plaster gone wrong. Vintage Benny at its stingiest and silliest, with the whole gang's comic timing firing on all cylinders.
