- 0:10Speaker 1: God Bless football.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Mike y Hey, God Blessed Football, Mike Golick, God Bless Football.
- 0:18Speaker 3: Taylor, God Blessed Football.
- 0:20Speaker 4: Got he gets so excited when it's Golick, more excited
- 0:23Speaker 4: than anyone else, even Chris Simms. I know he's a
- 0:25Speaker 4: Hall of Famer, but even Chris Simms doesn't get you
- 0:28Speaker 4: this excited.
- 0:29Speaker 1: I mean, it's weird.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Football appreciate to love going to a D lineman instead
- 0:36Speaker 2: of a quarterback.
- 0:39Speaker 4: We have a lot to get to with Mike Golick,
- 0:41Speaker 4: who co hosted with us yesterday.
- 0:42Speaker 1: We enjoyed that.
- 0:43Speaker 4: Hopefully he's going to co host the radio show with
- 0:45Speaker 4: us tomorrow. We will keep you posted on that. Ad
- 0:48Speaker 4: Nan verks in today Mike wanted to start. We have
- 0:52Speaker 4: a keep three cup five for you. We'll get to
- 0:54Speaker 4: that towards the end of this episode of God Bless Football.
- 0:57Speaker 4: Taylor is going to read for us here comments from
- 1:00Speaker 4: Kirby Smart. This is funny man about the SEC. Will
- 1:04Speaker 4: Taylor go ahead? We the comments here from Georgia head
- 1:07Speaker 4: coach Kirby Smart, who doesn't give a bleep about anything
- 1:10Speaker 4: or anyone.
- 1:10Speaker 5: Go ahead, So this is on the SEC breaking away
- 1:14Speaker 5: if national rules can't be agreed upon. I've said this
- 1:17Speaker 5: for a long time to our president. I've been a
- 1:19Speaker 5: huge advocate that if we can't find rules that everybody
- 1:21Speaker 5: plays by, then we should play on our own. I'm
- 1:24Speaker 5: not afraid of that. I'm not afraid to break away
- 1:27Speaker 5: and say that our conference is strong enough to go
- 1:30Speaker 5: out and play the.
- 1:31Speaker 4: Conference who hasn't won a national championship in like five years.
- 1:36Speaker 2: You know, sometimes you say things because you know they'll
- 1:39Speaker 2: never happen, but you sound good saying it.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Right, I do it all the time. Yes, exactly.
- 1:45Speaker 2: He went to Kirby Smart went to the Stugott School
- 1:49Speaker 2: of Broadcasting. I mean, just say something that sounds outland
- 1:53Speaker 2: just because we know it will never happen. Kirby, It'll
- 1:57Speaker 2: never ever happen. Listen. Get I get in a disagreement
- 2:02Speaker 2: with my son Mike all the time when he talks
- 2:05Speaker 2: about the power for breaking away. Now you're talking about
- 2:10Speaker 2: a quarter of the power for breaking away and breaking
- 2:14Speaker 2: away to what?
- 2:15Speaker 3: Yes?
- 2:15Speaker 2: To who?
- 2:16Speaker 3: For what?
- 2:16Speaker 2: Yes? I mean that it makes zero sense.
- 2:21Speaker 3: Now.
- 2:22Speaker 2: I understand his part about there are no rules you
- 2:27Speaker 2: try and do anything to a player player, Susan, I'm
- 2:30Speaker 2: not against it. The player. The player is in a
- 2:32Speaker 2: power position now, so you grab what you can grab again.
- 2:37Speaker 2: With only two percent making the NFL, these guys have
- 2:41Speaker 2: a chance to make some money right now, go ahead
- 2:43Speaker 2: and make it, you know. And then the transfer rules
- 2:46Speaker 2: being able to transfer every single year, I do hope
- 2:50Speaker 2: they curb that. We'll see. But back to what Kirby
- 2:54Speaker 2: Smart said, there's no way that will happen. There is zero, zero, no,
- 2:59Speaker 2: I'll use my line, there is no way on God's
- 3:02Speaker 2: greener the SEC it will break away and go off
- 3:06Speaker 2: on their own. I don't even think the power for
- 3:09Speaker 2: will be able to break away on their own because
- 3:12Speaker 2: they can't agree on anything, you know. And and Greg
- 3:15Speaker 2: sank Is is the big swinging man right now. I mean,
- 3:19Speaker 2: I know the Big ten is there as well. As
- 3:22Speaker 2: far as obviously winning championships, they've been ahead of the SEC.
- 3:26Speaker 2: But Greg Sanki carries so much power.
- 3:30Speaker 4: What would it look like though, if the SEC did
- 3:32Speaker 4: indeed break away. It just beat Georgia Alabama the national
- 3:35Speaker 4: championship game every year.
- 3:36Speaker 3: I mean, I mean what we're.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Talking about, I mean, does that mean no out of
- 3:41Speaker 2: out of conference schedule? Every every game is a is
- 3:44Speaker 2: a conference game. And then and then you win your conference.
- 3:48Speaker 2: So now you can say we're the SEC champs. And
- 3:52Speaker 2: you could say that anyway. When there's an SEC championship,
- 3:55Speaker 2: you sure as hell can't say you're a national champion
- 3:59Speaker 2: because you're only one conference.
- 4:00Speaker 3: It is.
- 4:01Speaker 2: It is ludicrous.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Yes, and we all know Indiana is going to win
- 4:04Speaker 1: the next five, so who cares? I mean, geez, I know.
- 4:09Speaker 2: A team from Indiana.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Will win the next Well done. I'm glad you mentioned
- 4:16Speaker 1: proud of himself.
- 4:17Speaker 5: I'm glad you mentioned Statta's School of fraudcasting because Kirby
- 4:21Speaker 5: Smart also went on to say, my biggest concern for
- 4:25Speaker 5: our sport is we're going to ruin all the other sports.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Because I have Kirby Smart at the swim meet.
- 4:33Speaker 2: Well, listen, I do have an affinity for the non
- 4:37Speaker 2: revenue sports.
- 4:38Speaker 1: You do the question, yes, you do. The question is
- 4:41Speaker 1: whether or not Kirby Smart does.
- 4:43Speaker 2: I mean, listen again, It's something nice to say that
- 4:48Speaker 2: you're worried about the other sports. And quite honestly, football football,
- 4:53Speaker 2: and you could say basketball, but mostly football funds all
- 4:57Speaker 2: the other sports. I would hate to say the other
- 5:00Speaker 2: sports get cut. I hate to see it. I mean, hell,
- 5:03Speaker 2: I wrestled at Notre Dame. They cut Notre Dame wrestling
- 5:06Speaker 2: two years after I left it. It's never been back there.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Cut hockey for a while at Notre Dame, brought it
- 5:12Speaker 2: back as a club sport. Now it's back as a sport.
- 5:15Speaker 2: I hate that, but that's that's the business of college
- 5:19Speaker 2: sports right now.
- 5:20Speaker 4: Unfortunately, I am begging anyone who attends Georgia who lives
- 5:25Speaker 4: in Athens to send us a picture of Kirby Smart
- 5:29Speaker 4: at any other athletic event other than him coaching a
- 5:32Speaker 4: football game for Georgia. Just anything, Give me a picture
- 5:35Speaker 4: of Kirby at a volleyball game. I dare you someone
- 5:38Speaker 4: produced one.
- 5:39Speaker 6: Sure, I'm sure he did a halftime at basketball speech
- 5:43Speaker 6: at one point.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Yeah, to promote his football program.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I think. I think Kirby outside of football should
- 5:49Speaker 2: concentrate and his guys not driving recklessly and getting arrested.
- 5:52Speaker 3: Boom.
- 5:53Speaker 4: Yes, yes, well said, and also concentrate on winning another
- 5:58Speaker 4: national championship before you become such an arrogant prick.
- 6:01Speaker 3: Uh.
- 6:02Speaker 2: Yeah, listen, he's a great coach. I mean he is.
- 6:07Speaker 2: There is no debating that.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Yes, arrogant prick too far. Taylor huh, what do you
- 6:11Speaker 1: think you got? Yeah, you got a little carriageway there,
- 6:14Speaker 1: I did.
- 6:14Speaker 3: I'm mad at it.
- 6:15Speaker 1: I care about the ancillary sports too, and I don't
- 6:17Speaker 1: like what someone comes on and fakes that they care
- 6:20Speaker 1: about the ancillary sports. I actually care about him. How
- 6:23Speaker 1: many women's lacrosse games has Kirby Smart been to over
- 6:26Speaker 1: the last four years? Listen, I've been to all of them.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Listen. I'm with you, and we know more athletes make
- 6:32Speaker 2: up the non revenue sports than the revenue sports, you know,
- 6:35Speaker 2: and it's a great opportunity for him. But we all
- 6:38Speaker 2: know business wins, money wins, you know, so sometimes those
- 6:42Speaker 2: sports all you know, pay the price.
- 6:44Speaker 5: So I see on Google Kirby Smart was at a
- 6:47Speaker 5: volleyball match this past this past season.
- 6:50Speaker 1: I'll get out of here. I mean, prove it.
- 6:53Speaker 5: There's a videos.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Was he there was an AI Right, I'm afraid. I'm
- 7:00Speaker 2: afraid to say anything about social media now, to say, oh,
- 7:04Speaker 2: how cute is this or how cool is that? Only
- 7:07Speaker 2: to have one of my kids text me and say, Dad,
- 7:10Speaker 2: that's fake, and I'm like, I give up. I throw
- 7:13Speaker 2: my hands.
- 7:14Speaker 1: All right, It's not even worth it. Yes, the embarrassment
- 7:16Speaker 1: is not worth it anymore. I don't know what's real
- 7:19Speaker 1: and what's not real.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Exactly right.
- 7:21Speaker 1: I mean, soon you're gonna see yourself saying something that
- 7:23Speaker 1: you swore you never said, Michael, like, and you're gonna
- 7:25Speaker 1: be like, what the hell?
- 7:27Speaker 2: Yeah, it's exactly right. That's why I rarely go on
- 7:30Speaker 2: social media and get, you know, involved in it, because
- 7:33Speaker 2: I don't want to get caught with my pants down.
- 7:36Speaker 5: Mike, what's the most embarrassing one that caught you? Because
- 7:40Speaker 5: my girlfriend has this same problem where she sends me
- 7:44Speaker 5: videos and she's like, look at this Florida Gators football stadium.
- 7:48Speaker 5: It rains so much that there are now Gators in
- 7:51Speaker 5: the stadium. I'm like, sweetie, this.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Is not real.
- 7:56Speaker 2: Yeah. I couldn't Taylor, I couldn't pick one I get
- 8:00Speaker 2: all the time. That's why I don't comment on I
- 8:04Speaker 2: send it, and my wife Chris does the same thing.
- 8:07Speaker 2: We send it to the group and we're like, is
- 8:10Speaker 2: this real, and either Jake or Mike or Sidney we'll
- 8:14Speaker 2: text back saying sorry to burst your bubble. It's not.
- 8:17Speaker 4: You're just like, damn, yeah, the kid should lie to you.
- 8:20Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, yeah, nailed I can tell you the video.
- 8:26Speaker 4: The video that got me was Kirby Smart the volleyball game.
- 8:34Speaker 4: There was a video once. I think it was a
- 8:37Speaker 4: terrible rainstorm in Miami. Ricardo will remember this. It was
- 8:40Speaker 4: years ago before Taylor got here, and people were taking
- 8:43Speaker 4: pictures of sharks swimming around in the streets and everyone
- 8:46Speaker 4: was terrified and thought it was real.
- 8:48Speaker 3: I mean, including me.
- 8:51Speaker 2: Yes, that there are some things I won't fall for
- 8:54Speaker 2: like that, but there are too many things that just
- 8:58Speaker 2: look real. And plus being in sports, how many times
- 9:02Speaker 2: have you got fooled by the fake Adam Schefter that's
- 9:06Speaker 2: out there breaking news? Yeah?
- 9:07Speaker 1: Yeah, all the time. Yeah, we're getting old, Mike, Yeah
- 9:12Speaker 1: we are.
- 9:14Speaker 4: I'm surprised you go to your kids to get like, hey,
- 9:16Speaker 4: is this real or not real? Because most kids would say,
- 9:19Speaker 4: hey dad, yeah that's real, run with it.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Yeah. I think they even want to save me from
- 9:25Speaker 2: embarrassing on social media.
- 9:27Speaker 4: Right, Well, you raised good kids. Might before we get
- 9:30Speaker 4: to keep three cut five. Just a couple of stories
- 9:32Speaker 4: here in the NFL. Jackson Dart introduced Donald Trump President
- 9:36Speaker 4: Trump at Rockland Community College, and then some teammates took
- 9:41Speaker 4: exception to Jackson Dart showing his politics.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Showing which way he leans.
- 9:47Speaker 4: No one should be surprised that Jackson Dart is a trumper,
- 9:50Speaker 4: at least in my opinion.
- 9:52Speaker 1: I'm wondering more so.
- 9:53Speaker 4: Mike, did politics ever get in the way of a
- 9:56Speaker 4: team that you played on in the locker room?
- 9:58Speaker 1: Did guys care?
- 9:59Speaker 2: No? It is so so different now, and and really
- 10:05Speaker 2: it shouldn't be. I mean, have your opinion, you know,
- 10:10Speaker 2: But I mean when when opinions run so strong that
- 10:13Speaker 2: you stop talking to family members or disassociate from certain people,
- 10:18Speaker 2: it's just I mean, I remember a time when actually
- 10:21Speaker 2: both sides of the aisle wouldn't rip one another, they
- 10:24Speaker 2: actually work together, you know, for the actual good of
- 10:27Speaker 2: the country. God forbid. I mean that that's that's how
- 10:32Speaker 2: old we are still we remember that. No, that this
- 10:37Speaker 2: never never entered the locker room. And and do I
- 10:42Speaker 2: think this is going to tear up the giants' locker room?
- 10:45Speaker 2: Absolutely not. I think outside the locker room, it is
- 10:48Speaker 2: going to get overblown. Like anything when politics is brought up,
- 10:52Speaker 2: gets completely just just bombed. I mean, it is you.
- 10:57Speaker 2: You you can't have an opinion now, Some say you
- 11:01Speaker 2: should keep politics yourself, But I have always said, I
- 11:04Speaker 2: mean something as simple as a championship team going to
- 11:07Speaker 2: the White House. And listen, every championship team, everybody didn't,
- 11:13Speaker 2: you know, vote for that president.
- 11:14Speaker 3: Right.
- 11:15Speaker 2: But my thought has always been, hell, if I get
- 11:18Speaker 2: invited to the White House, I'm going to the White House.
- 11:21Speaker 2: I've never been to. Now, I've gone to the White
- 11:23Speaker 2: House green and I had dinner with George Bush at
- 11:27Speaker 2: the White House. And it's like, of course, even back then,
- 11:32Speaker 2: it wasn't like it would have been now, we got
- 11:35Speaker 2: ripped by those that were against George Bush. And I said,
- 11:37Speaker 2: it's not even about politics, it's about being invited to
- 11:41Speaker 2: the White House. Yes, you know, and how cool that
- 11:45Speaker 2: was to go so, but we are certainly in a
- 11:49Speaker 2: different time right now, and it's a shame.
- 11:51Speaker 1: I wish all the President's Trump tweets were fake. I
- 11:55Speaker 1: wish I wish I was being tricked by him. Unfortunately
- 11:59Speaker 1: we're not.
- 12:00Speaker 4: Abdul Carter was the teammate Mike that really took issue
- 12:03Speaker 4: with Jackson Dart, and I understand why he's taking issue
- 12:07Speaker 4: with Jackson Dart.
- 12:08Speaker 1: But you know what, Jackson, we live in a free country,
- 12:11Speaker 1: I think. But we live in a free country. The
- 12:14Speaker 1: United States of America, and Jackson Dart is the title
- 12:16Speaker 1: to lean which way he wants to lead, and Abdul
- 12:18Speaker 1: Carter is the title to lean which way he wants
- 12:21Speaker 1: to lean. And I will guarantee you this, Mike, and
- 12:23Speaker 1: you know this better than anyone. When those two are
- 12:26Speaker 1: on a football field together and Jackson Dart makes a
- 12:29Speaker 1: big play that wins the Giants a football game, or
- 12:32Speaker 1: the other way Abdul Carter big sack that wins the
- 12:34Speaker 1: Giants a football game, those two guys will put politics
- 12:37Speaker 1: aside and they will be best friends without question.
- 12:40Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely positively, without question. And and the thing that
- 12:46Speaker 2: gets me, and I remember talking to Mike about this too,
- 12:50Speaker 2: because I'm a locker room guy. Keep things in the
- 12:52Speaker 2: locker room, discuss it face to face. You know, I
- 12:55Speaker 2: was always like, well, if Abdul Carter has a problem
- 12:58Speaker 2: with it, and it's fine, he can have a go
- 13:01Speaker 2: talk to Jackson Dart, call him on the phone, talk
- 13:04Speaker 2: to him face to face. But as as Mike ha said,
- 13:08Speaker 2: this generation lives in social media. So you know what,
- 13:13Speaker 2: I can have my ways, but that doesn't mean I'm
- 13:15Speaker 2: going to say, oh, Abdul Carter, you just just talk
- 13:18Speaker 2: to him face to face, don't put it on social media. Well,
- 13:21Speaker 2: I mean that's this generation. They put things out on
- 13:25Speaker 2: social media. They're all used to that. So who am
- 13:28Speaker 2: I to say not to do it? But to your
- 13:30Speaker 2: points do You're right? You can have your opinion. The
- 13:33Speaker 2: other side can have their opinion. The one thing that
- 13:36Speaker 2: never happens on social media is you never change anybody's mind.
- 13:40Speaker 1: No, right, No, they're in entrenched. They're in entrenched.
- 13:43Speaker 2: Yes, yes, yes.
- 13:46Speaker 6: The sad thing to be is when that moment does happen,
- 13:49Speaker 6: when Jackson Dart does win the game or a duel
- 13:52Speaker 6: Carter does win the game, and those guys become teammate
- 13:55Speaker 6: or teammates and they they hug it out and they
- 13:58Speaker 6: high five each other and they say. Then there's the
- 14:00Speaker 6: people that go, how could he be friends with that person?
- 14:03Speaker 3: And it's like, just stop.
- 14:06Speaker 2: That's why, that's why I loved the seclusion of the
- 14:11Speaker 2: locker room. Yes, I loved being in the locker room
- 14:15Speaker 2: where you didn't let outside things affect you.
- 14:19Speaker 4: It polices itself right. Eventually, it just works itself out right. Yes, yes, yes,
- 14:24Speaker 4: soid Jackson Dart Taylor. He did address the team and
- 14:27Speaker 4: teammates is the entire organization yesterday, right because he had to.
- 14:30Speaker 5: Yeah, and they said other team leaders spoke up as well,
- 14:33Speaker 5: and Dart and the players work through it. Mike Garafolo says,
- 14:37Speaker 5: they are moving forward.
- 14:38Speaker 1: And what else are they going to do?
- 14:39Speaker 3: I mean exactly right, what else are they going to do?
- 14:42Speaker 2: Abdul Carter is not going to change Jackson Dart's mind,
- 14:45Speaker 2: and Jackson Dart isn't going to change Adduel Carter's mind.
- 14:48Speaker 3: Right.
- 14:48Speaker 2: It's not the first or last time I've always said this.
- 14:51Speaker 2: There's fifty three guys in a in a locker room.
- 14:54Speaker 2: You're all not holding hands and singing Kumbai Ya. Yes,
- 14:57Speaker 2: there are guys that don't get I had in the
- 15:00Speaker 2: locker room that I didn't get along with, the guys
- 15:02Speaker 2: that didn't get along with me. But when you were
- 15:04Speaker 2: on the field, you play in harmony.
- 15:07Speaker 1: It's funny though sports heels being on that field together.
- 15:09Speaker 1: It heals like we all have our differences.
- 15:11Speaker 4: But you get on a field together if you truly
- 15:13Speaker 4: want to win, Mike, you will pass a ball to
- 15:16Speaker 4: your worst enemy.
- 15:16Speaker 1: If that's what it means.
- 15:18Speaker 2: Once you step between the lines, man, it's about the team.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Yes, Yes, it's crazy.
- 15:23Speaker 4: Speaking of the Giants, well, John Harbaugh as their coach
- 15:26Speaker 4: now he was the coach of the Baltimore Ravens. Lamar
- 15:29Speaker 4: Jackson said this offseason has been a breath of fresh air. Mike,
- 15:34Speaker 4: I don't look at that as an insult to John Harbaugh.
- 15:37Speaker 4: I kind of equated to Andy Reid and the Eagles.
- 15:39Speaker 4: Andy Reid and the Eagles it ran its course, and
- 15:42Speaker 4: with Harbad just ran its course. Andy Reid got to
- 15:45Speaker 4: so many NFC Championship games, got to the Super Bowl
- 15:48Speaker 4: with the Eagles, could never close the deal.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Harbad did the same. I guess to an extent, never got.
- 15:53Speaker 4: To the super Bowl with Lamar Jackson, but he had
- 15:55Speaker 4: some good runs with Lamar Jackson and it just wasn't
- 15:58Speaker 4: working out. And so when Lamar said that, and everyone's
- 16:00Speaker 4: making a big deal about it because it's May and
- 16:02Speaker 4: it's a shot at John Harbaugh, I.
- 16:04Speaker 1: Don't view it that way. I view it as he
- 16:06Speaker 1: just needed a fresh start, that's it. That's all.
- 16:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:08Speaker 2: I always go back to the late great Marty Schottenheimer
- 16:13Speaker 2: who basically said, when you're ten twelve years in the
- 16:16Speaker 2: same spot, players start to look past you. Yeah, you know,
- 16:19Speaker 2: and look for a change, look for something new, not
- 16:23Speaker 2: to say that it's going to be better, but it's
- 16:25Speaker 2: something new that maybe refreshes you. Yes so, and that's
- 16:29Speaker 2: all you can do, right. Lamar Jackson's in a position
- 16:32Speaker 2: where he has a new coach. He's going to talk
- 16:34Speaker 2: positively about it, even though it does seem like it
- 16:37Speaker 2: was a shot at harball. But sometimes you just have
- 16:40Speaker 2: to freshen things up, now do sometimes you do that
- 16:44Speaker 2: too quickly when you fire a coach after two years
- 16:47Speaker 2: when things don't go well. Yeah, but there is I
- 16:50Speaker 2: do agree to a point with Marty Schottenheimer when he says,
- 16:54Speaker 2: at some point, players just it just kind of gets stale.
- 16:58Speaker 4: He's such a great example, Martin Shottenheimer, because he too
- 17:01Speaker 4: had runs where it just r They got deep into
- 17:03Speaker 4: the playoffs, couldn't close the deal and it just ran.
- 17:05Speaker 1: Of course, right.
- 17:06Speaker 2: Yeah, without question. One of the great Marty Schottenheimer stories
- 17:10Speaker 2: is back he would he would, you know when he
- 17:13Speaker 2: got in the AC title game. When you lost, you
- 17:15Speaker 2: became the coach of the Pro Bowl, right, the losing
- 17:18Speaker 2: conference champ was the coach of the Pro Bowl. And
- 17:21Speaker 2: you know the Pro Bowl. Now, I never made it.
- 17:23Speaker 2: I go I go out to it and work it
- 17:26Speaker 2: or watch it. But even even as as non hitting
- 17:32Speaker 2: as it is now, and it was more hitting back
- 17:35Speaker 2: in the day, but the guys still didn't want to
- 17:38Speaker 2: practice hard. And Marty Schottenheimer wanted to practice those guys
- 17:42Speaker 2: in full pads at the Pro Bowl Wow. And I
- 17:45Speaker 2: think it was Bruce Smith one year that led the revolt.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Told everybody, because they take a bus over to the field,
- 17:54Speaker 2: don't bring your pads. We can't practice in pads if
- 17:58Speaker 2: you don't bring your pads. And again I got everybody
- 18:01Speaker 2: to not bring their pads to practice. Yeah, and I
- 18:04Speaker 2: don't think Marty took too kindly to that, but those
- 18:07Speaker 2: are some different times.
- 18:08Speaker 4: I'm certain Marty wanted to find people, suspend people, and
- 18:11Speaker 4: then he realized, Hey, I about the.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Pro Bowl.
- 18:14Speaker 2: Exactly.

- 20:16Speaker 4: All right, Mike, mikey A has a keep three, cut five.
- 20:19Speaker 4: We have played this game with you before. I have
- 20:21Speaker 4: no idea what the topic is? You and I and Taylor.
- 20:24Speaker 4: I guess, well, how are we doing this? We have
- 20:26Speaker 4: to keep three of these and we have to cut five.
- 20:29Speaker 4: The problem is you have no idea. If you cut
- 20:31Speaker 4: someone early, Mike, you have no idea. Which is the.
- 20:34Speaker 1: Next thing that's coming out of Mikeya's mouth. Yeah, yeah,
- 20:37Speaker 1: he already hates it. Yeah he liked one table he did.
- 20:42Speaker 6: So this isn't blind rankings. You guys have to come
- 20:45Speaker 6: to a consensus. You guys have to decide amongst the
- 20:48Speaker 6: three of you if you're keeping or cutting this?
- 20:52Speaker 3: Uh and our topic today?
- 20:54Speaker 6: Yes on Earth, Mic is defensive Lineman wow.
- 21:01Speaker 1: Wow.
- 21:01Speaker 6: And this is from and just to narrow it down
- 21:03Speaker 6: just a little bit, it's up the last forty.
- 21:06Speaker 4: Years defensive Lineman, last forty years, Mike, Mike really narrowed
- 21:12Speaker 4: it down. Mike, Listen, he has been waiting for this
- 21:17Speaker 4: keep three, cut five his entire life. I mean, finally
- 21:19Speaker 4: someone is addressing the d lineman and Mike is very
- 21:22Speaker 4: happy about that.
- 21:23Speaker 1: All right, so this is his wheelhouse.
- 21:24Speaker 2: Right, yeah, this is my wheel I'll except I don't
- 21:27Speaker 2: know who he has in it. I could really screw
- 21:30Speaker 2: this up.
- 21:30Speaker 4: We're gonna find out together. Yes, so we're keeping three. Okay,
- 21:34Speaker 4: So it's me goliad tailor, right, go ahead?
- 21:35Speaker 1: First name?
- 21:36Speaker 3: Okay, first name up? Reggie White.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Oh, I mean that's Keith.
- 21:41Speaker 2: That's the biggest no brainer of all Yeah. I mean
- 21:45Speaker 2: I don't even feel like nervous, like he could name
- 21:48Speaker 2: somebody that I would I would keep over.
- 21:50Speaker 4: So we're confident now we're all keeping him. But Mikey
- 21:52Speaker 4: is the most confident because he knows the next seven
- 21:54Speaker 4: and we don't. Okay, So he knows Reggie White should
- 21:57Speaker 4: be there, but he purposely here to make them the
- 22:01Speaker 4: X seven difficult.
- 22:03Speaker 2: He actually he actually threw us a bone, though, because
- 22:05Speaker 2: that that was Reggie was a given.
- 22:08Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 22:08Speaker 2: No, now we only have to really keep too.
- 22:10Speaker 4: See you think it's a bone, and I'm telling you
- 22:12Speaker 4: it was done by design.
- 22:14Speaker 1: He knew it was gonna be an automatic keep. So
- 22:16Speaker 1: that's it. That's why you put it there.
- 22:17Speaker 3: So no chance you were cutting Reggie White. I just
- 22:20Speaker 3: got it out of the way. Listen, it's now keep two,
- 22:25Speaker 3: cut five of the next seven.
- 22:26Speaker 1: That's how I played it.
- 22:28Speaker 3: So next name up, Michael Strahan.
- 22:31Speaker 4: Wow, see you, I mean regular season sack record, it
- 22:37Speaker 4: was broken. I think it was gifted to him by far,
- 22:40Speaker 4: but it never should have happened. Gastondeau is still pissed
- 22:43Speaker 4: off about it.
- 22:45Speaker 2: I'm I'm I'm gonna say cut.
- 22:49Speaker 4: I will cut Michael Shrayhan because there are five names
- 22:52Speaker 4: to go here, I think, and or six maybe I
- 22:56Speaker 4: don't know.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Math is off. Six names to go here?
- 23:00Speaker 4: Five names okay, five names ago, Okay, I'm cutting them.
- 23:04Speaker 1: No straight hen, All.
- 23:04Speaker 3: Right, all right, okay, so you kept Reggie White.
- 23:07Speaker 4: How many sacks as straight and half for his career?
- 23:09Speaker 4: Just quickly, I just want to talk about the guy
- 23:10Speaker 4: that we cut, real quick. Just how many sacks does
- 23:12Speaker 4: he have? Does anyone know? I think he's the all
- 23:13Speaker 4: time leading sack leader.
- 23:14Speaker 1: No, I think.
- 23:15Speaker 2: No, No, No, he's not okay. I think I think,
- 23:19Speaker 2: I actually think Bruce Smith is okay.
- 23:22Speaker 1: Oh, he's gonna put Bruce Smith there. Jesus, we're fu.
- 23:25Speaker 5: And a half.
- 23:26Speaker 4: We just got that guy one forty one and a half.
- 23:28Speaker 4: We just cut one hundred and forty one and a
- 23:29Speaker 4: half sacks. Jesus, it was really one forty and a
- 23:32Speaker 4: half in my personal record book, the one at FARV
- 23:34Speaker 4: I mean, guess and no should be pissed off anyway,
- 23:36Speaker 4: Go ahead, mikey it.
- 23:38Speaker 3: Next name up? JJ Watt?
- 23:42Speaker 2: No for me, Yeah, it's gonna be I think, no
- 23:46Speaker 2: for me, I got I hope we get some better names.
- 23:48Speaker 1: So we don't know if we will. That's the problem.
- 23:51Speaker 6: Sorry, you just cut one hundred and forty one and
- 23:53Speaker 6: a half sack. We're gonna be You want better names,
- 23:55Speaker 6: We're gonna be sorry.
- 23:56Speaker 1: We're gonna be stuck with Chris Candy.
- 23:57Speaker 5: I mean, Jesus, so JJ Watt cut. I would have
- 24:00Speaker 5: kept them personally, but those are the breaks.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Okay, how many sacks for JJ Watt first career?
- 24:06Speaker 2: JJ Watt jj Watt fourteen and a half is not
- 24:12Speaker 2: in the top twenty five.
- 24:13Speaker 1: Wow, who has the most sacks?
- 24:16Speaker 3: Is it?
- 24:16Speaker 2: Bruce, Bruce Smith? Bruce has two hundred, Reggie one ninety eight,
- 24:20Speaker 2: then Kevin Green, Julius Pepper's, Chris Doleman, Michael Strahan is
- 24:24Speaker 2: six and we cut him.
- 24:25Speaker 4: Yeah, we cut him, So we have to cut jj
- 24:27Speaker 4: Watt if that's the case.
- 24:28Speaker 1: All right, God, you know you.
- 24:29Speaker 2: Know why I'm only doing sacks. I'm starting to I'm
- 24:33Speaker 2: starting to freak out now. Is I was thinking of
- 24:35Speaker 2: some old time linemen like Deacon Jones, but I just
- 24:38Speaker 2: realized they're not eligible.
- 24:40Speaker 1: Last forty years, right, yesh, God.
- 24:42Speaker 2: Oh god, Okay, all right, I may have made a mistake,
- 24:45Speaker 2: but go ahead.
- 24:45Speaker 3: We'll see. All right, go ahead, next name up. You
- 24:49Speaker 3: mentioned him a bunch already, Bruce Smith.
- 24:51Speaker 1: Yeap, Yes, yeah, yeah, gotta keep them. I'm good with that. Yeah,
- 24:56Speaker 1: all right, okay, so you get listen. I gotta be
- 24:59Speaker 1: honest with you. I got them the next Yeah, agreed, Yes,
- 25:01Speaker 1: I gotta be honest. We have Bruce and Reggie. I
- 25:04Speaker 1: don't care who my third is. I feel pretty good
- 25:06Speaker 1: about it.
- 25:06Speaker 2: I agree, I completely agree. And just think about it.
- 25:09Speaker 2: Bruce and Reggie are right at the beginning of the
- 25:13Speaker 2: allotted time. Yes, of eighty five, because Bruce, Bruce K
- 25:17Speaker 2: Bruce was my draft, Yeah, eighty five. He was number one.
- 25:20Speaker 2: I was number two fifty five. Only thing, the only
- 25:23Speaker 2: thing we have in common is we were in the same.
- 25:26Speaker 4: Draft at One of the things that separate you is
- 25:31Speaker 4: two hundred and fifty four picks.
- 25:34Speaker 1: That's so good.
- 25:35Speaker 4: But we have Reggie White and we have Bruce Smith.
- 25:37Speaker 4: And I think mikey a play this incorrectly.
- 25:39Speaker 1: I do, Yes, I agree.
- 25:41Speaker 6: I seem to you seem to think sacks are the
- 25:44Speaker 6: only thing that matters. And you also seem to think
- 25:47Speaker 6: you're building a D line. That's not what you're doing.
- 25:49Speaker 1: Yeah, that's that's fair. But anyway, go ahead.
- 25:51Speaker 4: But I feel good that my three is two of
- 25:53Speaker 4: my three are Reggie White and Bruce Smith.
- 25:56Speaker 2: I know who my third one is going to be,
- 25:58Speaker 2: but I just don't know if he's going to say
- 26:01Speaker 2: them right.
- 26:02Speaker 5: Stu, you are right though, the fact that we got
- 26:04Speaker 5: Reggie White and Bruce Smith, we could get Vernon Golston.
- 26:07Speaker 5: And I'm considering this a winter.
- 26:08Speaker 1: I'll be all right, Yes, I'll be fine. I'll sleep tonight.
- 26:10Speaker 3: Yeah, go ahead, Like, next name up, Julius Peppers.
- 26:17Speaker 2: I knew you were. Julius is fourth.
- 26:19Speaker 1: Keep three cup five, so that's eight. So we have
- 26:21Speaker 1: how many names left?
- 26:22Speaker 3: Four?
- 26:22Speaker 1: This is three? After this?
- 26:24Speaker 3: Three more after this?
- 26:26Speaker 1: Okay, I was doing math on air. Peppers, what do
- 26:29Speaker 1: you think?
- 26:30Speaker 3: You know what?
- 26:30Speaker 2: You know what name I'm holding out for? And I
- 26:32Speaker 2: don't know if he's going to say it is Aaron Donald.
- 26:36Speaker 1: Well, yeah, we don't know. Only might keep my.
- 26:39Speaker 6: Hands up so you can see I'm not I'm not
- 26:41Speaker 6: gonna type anything, all right.
- 26:42Speaker 2: Because Julius Peppers, I would I would think about keeping
- 26:46Speaker 2: him if Aaron wasn't in it. But I think I
- 26:49Speaker 2: have to hold out for Aaron.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Okay, but he might not be there, that's the problem.
- 26:54Speaker 1: I'm with you. I'm with him, totally with you, Taylor.
- 26:57Speaker 1: What do you want to do here?
- 26:59Speaker 5: I want to keep Carolina guy?
- 27:03Speaker 2: Well, if we're keeping the games over and that's no fun.
- 27:05Speaker 4: Yeah, well, and he's just putting it on me so
- 27:08Speaker 4: he didn't have to cut Peppers.
- 27:09Speaker 1: I'll cut Peppers. I'm with you, Mike Peppers, get out right, Yeah,
- 27:12Speaker 1: all right, go ahead.
- 27:13Speaker 3: Mike Hillias Peppers cut next up Warren Sap.
- 27:16Speaker 4: Oh wow, oh wow, So Mike you say yay yes
- 27:20Speaker 4: to this. Warren SAP's an all time great, but Aaron
- 27:23Speaker 4: Donald still might be there.
- 27:26Speaker 2: Yeah, And quite honestly, if just in case, Mike y
- 27:31Speaker 2: A has Jerome Brown in there, I would take Jerome
- 27:35Speaker 2: Brown over Warren Sap, even though they were kind of alike.
- 27:38Speaker 1: Is there any would you take Jerome Brown over Aaron Donald?
- 27:41Speaker 2: No, I would take Aaron Donald. I'm I'm holding out
- 27:44Speaker 2: hope that Aaron Donald. I'm I'm so good with Reggie
- 27:48Speaker 2: and Bruce that I'm willing to hold out for Aaron Donald.
- 27:52Speaker 4: Do you guys realize the respect that Mike has for
- 27:56Speaker 4: Jerome Brown and his abilities because he just put him
- 27:59Speaker 4: ahead of Warren's app?
- 28:00Speaker 3: Do you understand what Warren Sap?
- 28:03Speaker 2: Warren Sap was the new Jerome Brown?
- 28:06Speaker 1: No?
- 28:06Speaker 4: I know, Mike, I know how good Jerome Brown was
- 28:09Speaker 4: and we lost him too early. But like you played
- 28:11Speaker 4: next to him, and because you played next to him,
- 28:14Speaker 4: I trust you on just how good that guy was.
- 28:17Speaker 1: And was going to be. Yes, unbelievable you put him at.
- 28:20Speaker 3: A Warren Sapp.
- 28:23Speaker 1: Geez, all right, what do you want to do, Mike.
- 28:26Speaker 2: I mean, I again am willing to wait and see
- 28:31Speaker 2: if Aaron Donald. But war Warren Sap and Julius Peppers
- 28:35Speaker 2: are two tough ones.
- 28:36Speaker 1: Yeah, they really are, Taylor, I'm gonna say, yeah, I'm
- 28:41Speaker 1: gonna listen, got the deciding vote.
- 28:43Speaker 3: Well, listen, yeah, I'm gonna cut.
- 28:46Speaker 4: I shouldn't fact, I shouldn't factor this in, but Levator
- 28:48Speaker 4: would constantly tell me just the bad breath of Warren's
- 28:51Speaker 4: Sap and so I don't.
- 28:52Speaker 1: Want that breath in my huddle. Listen, I didn't say it.
- 28:56Speaker 1: I love Warren Sap, I do I love it was Dan.
- 28:58Speaker 6: Okay, So I'm going to cut, all right, Okay, okay,
- 29:03Speaker 6: So you guys have kept Reggie White and Bruce Smith.
- 29:06Speaker 6: You've cut Michael Strahan, JJ Watt, Julius Pepper's Warren Sapp.
- 29:10Speaker 3: The next name.
- 29:11Speaker 1: Up, the four that we cut would win a team
- 29:13Speaker 1: a Super Bowl.
- 29:14Speaker 4: Go ahead without without out, Well, JJ's there anyway? Go ahead,
- 29:19Speaker 4: Mike yet, next name up?
- 29:22Speaker 3: John Randall.
- 29:23Speaker 2: Oh, let me tell you what? So good John Randall,
- 29:26Speaker 2: I don't think gets enough love.
- 29:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 29:28Speaker 2: John Randall, Oh, my god.
- 29:31Speaker 4: One of the greatest sax celebrations of all time. Used
- 29:33Speaker 4: to get down on all fours and used to pretend
- 29:35Speaker 4: he was pooping like a dog.
- 29:37Speaker 2: I was at a couple of appearances with him. Dude
- 29:40Speaker 2: still looks like he could play now, not like James
- 29:43Speaker 2: Harrison still looks like he could play. So did you
- 29:45Speaker 2: see the last picture of James Harrison?
- 29:47Speaker 1: Was the smoke coming off his head?
- 29:49Speaker 2: I mean, I mean he had no shirt on, which
- 29:52Speaker 2: if I were him, I would never wear a shirt.
- 29:54Speaker 2: He had Abshawn and he was a solid two hundred
- 29:57Speaker 2: and fifty five pound cheese. And he is one of
- 30:00Speaker 2: the meanest players I have ever seen. Man, he scares
- 30:03Speaker 2: the hell out of him.
- 30:04Speaker 1: Yes, yes, everyone, who was it again?
- 30:10Speaker 2: Mike? Yeah? John Randall, God, Now, now I'm putting all
- 30:15Speaker 2: my eggs in the basket that Aaron Donald is the
- 30:17Speaker 2: last name. And if not, I have or he could
- 30:21Speaker 2: have some mediocre guys the last name, and I would
- 30:24Speaker 2: have screwed up.
- 30:25Speaker 1: How many names do we have? Loved?
- 30:27Speaker 3: One?
- 30:32Speaker 2: John Randall? God? John Randall was good. He was he
- 30:36Speaker 2: would always study the offensive players bios.
- 30:39Speaker 4: You realize, you realize the next game, next name could
- 30:42Speaker 4: be John Randall's backup.
- 30:43Speaker 1: It could be anyone.
- 30:44Speaker 7: I mean, I know, I know it could be Miles.
- 30:48Speaker 1: It could be Miles Garrett. It could not be Miles Garrett.
- 30:52Speaker 2: You know what, because there's really nothing on this, I'm
- 30:57Speaker 2: willing to roll the dice.
- 30:59Speaker 1: Okay, so you're willing to forego John Randall.
- 31:03Speaker 2: I think of the names we cut, Yep.
- 31:05Speaker 4: Randall, Sap, Peppers, JJ Watt, Michael strahead Man, Taylor. I
- 31:16Speaker 4: want to protect Mike from mikey A because I have
- 31:19Speaker 4: a feeling the next name is going to be awful.
- 31:24Speaker 3: I promise you the next name is not awful.
- 31:29Speaker 4: Okay, I will cut John Randall. He rarely does that.
- 31:32Speaker 4: I will cut John Randall.
- 31:34Speaker 2: And I would like to publicly apologize. Of all the
- 31:37Speaker 2: players we cut, I would like to apologize the most
- 31:40Speaker 2: to John Randall.
- 31:42Speaker 3: Yeah that's smart. Yeah yeah, those arms smart? Yep? All right, right,
- 31:48Speaker 3: so this is big in the end. Please. You kept
- 31:50Speaker 3: Reggie White, you kept Bruce Smith.
- 31:52Speaker 6: You've cut Michael Strahan, You've cut JJ Watt, you've cut
- 31:56Speaker 6: Julius Peppers, you've cut Warren Sap, You've cut John Randall.
- 32:00Speaker 6: The last name up a name that has been thrown
- 32:02Speaker 6: around a lot in this episode.
- 32:04Speaker 3: Mike Golick.
- 32:05Speaker 6: Ah, wow, yes we have no you did listen, and
- 32:12Speaker 6: your role doesn't change.
- 32:14Speaker 1: Reggie still gets to tell you, Hey, Mike, just don't
- 32:16Speaker 1: move get out of my way. I mean.
- 32:20Speaker 2: It was like, hey, Mike, can you help me up off?
- 32:24Speaker 1: Well, now you'll have Reggie and Bruce to do it for.
- 32:27Speaker 2: Oh, Mike, yeah, you absolutely.
- 32:30Speaker 3: Just I am not terrible. Listen, not terrible.
- 32:36Speaker 4: I know you don't want to put yourself there, but
- 32:37Speaker 4: me and Taylor are so happy to put you on
- 32:39Speaker 4: our d line.
- 32:40Speaker 1: This is what a big day. I mean, seriously, Reggie White,
- 32:44Speaker 1: Bruce Smith, Mike Golick, super Bowls about that.
- 32:47Speaker 2: I mean, one of these things just doesn't. So so
- 32:52Speaker 2: let me ask this. I'll ask the three of you
- 32:56Speaker 2: take me out of it. Which player would you put
- 32:59Speaker 2: as third of the ones we cut?
- 33:01Speaker 3: Wow? Good question.
- 33:05Speaker 5: Peppers for me, I think.
- 33:06Speaker 4: So, Taylor says Peppers, I would probably, I mean, you
- 33:10Speaker 4: got Reggie and Bruce.
- 33:11Speaker 1: I would take Warren Sat I would to me.
- 33:14Speaker 2: It would be between Julius Peppers and John Randall, and
- 33:17Speaker 2: I would I would lean. I would take John Randall actually,
- 33:21Speaker 2: just to get an interior d lineman in there. Even
- 33:23Speaker 2: though Reggie did play some interior D line, right.
- 33:26Speaker 4: He played the whole D line. That's why he was
- 33:28Speaker 4: telling you to get out of the way. I mean,
- 33:29Speaker 4: don't move, go backwards.
- 33:31Speaker 2: Damn a goal like I tripped over you again. Get
- 33:34Speaker 2: off the ground, Mike Yay, who would you take of
- 33:38Speaker 2: the one for me?
- 33:39Speaker 3: It's it's funny because it's it's the same names.
- 33:42Speaker 6: It would be between uh sap And and John Randall
- 33:46Speaker 6: for me.
- 33:47Speaker 1: Yeah. Man, goodness, mikey I should have known coming.
- 33:53Speaker 3: Honestly, I told you I had one four golic. Don't
- 33:57Speaker 3: think I was gonna put him on there to be.
- 34:02Speaker 6: He's Mike sitting there saying, oh, I was in the
- 34:04Speaker 6: same draft class in eighty five as Bruce Smith, and
- 34:07Speaker 6: I'm going, oh, I know.
- 34:08Speaker 4: Yeah, Oh, I know, he's two hundred and forty four
- 34:13Speaker 4: picks separate him.
- 34:14Speaker 2: That's awful that my name is even mentioned with those two.
- 34:18Speaker 1: I mean, well, they're mentioned forever with Reggie Whites. I mean,
- 34:21Speaker 1: you were part of that defensive line. It was a
- 34:23Speaker 1: great all time defensive line. Mike, you were a big
- 34:25Speaker 1: He never gives himself enough credit for being a good
- 34:28Speaker 1: NFL player.
- 34:30Speaker 2: Think about that line. Reggie White, Jerome Brown, who would
- 34:34Speaker 2: have been a Hall of Famer Clyde Simmons, who's twenty
- 34:36Speaker 2: fourth on the all time sack list of the thousands
- 34:40Speaker 2: of players that played, he's twenty four. Yeh, I mean
- 34:44Speaker 2: what a D line. I was lucky to play on
- 34:47Speaker 2: that line.
- 34:47Speaker 1: Yeah, but every D line like that. He's a glue guy.
- 34:49Speaker 1: That's what you are. The g and golic stands for glue.
- 34:52Speaker 1: How about that?
- 34:53Speaker 2: I was the run stopper, that's for sure. Blue lick,
- 34:58Speaker 2: blue lick.
- 35:02Speaker 4: All right, Mike, thanks for thanks for doing this. Hopefully
- 35:07Speaker 4: we'll we'll talk to you tomorrow. Next time you see Strahand,
- 35:10Speaker 4: tell them you kept him off the list.
- 35:14Speaker 2: For you for me. Yeah, put your solum off the
- 35:18Speaker 2: list to put me on the list, Mike. God, God
- 35:22Speaker 2: bless football, God bless foe.
