- 0:38SPEAKER_02: What are we gonna do when it would hit 300?
- 0:40SPEAKER_04: Well, we're gonna put 300 down.
- 0:42SPEAKER_02: That's probably true.
- 0:47SPEAKER_02: That'll be the movie that we use.
- 0:48SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 0:49SPEAKER_02: 300.
- 0:50SPEAKER_02: Ah, let's see.
- 0:52SPEAKER_04: So rejoice, oh peasants of America.
- 0:55SPEAKER_04: Your queen is now married.
- 0:57SPEAKER_02: Oh my word.
- 0:59SPEAKER_02: Well, I will I will say that.
- 1:00SPEAKER_02: Obviously, we're talking about Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsey.
- 1:03SPEAKER_02: Queen Tay Tay.
- 1:04SPEAKER_02: Now I will say this.
- 1:05SPEAKER_02: Do you know what they did before the wedding?
- 1:08SPEAKER_02: Or or as a lead up to the wedding?
- 1:13SPEAKER_02: Because she's like a multi-gajillionaire.
- 1:16SPEAKER_04: Well, yeah.
- 1:16SPEAKER_02: They they gave away a crap ton of money to charity.
- 1:20SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:20SPEAKER_02: Brad Paisley's uh store in Nashville.
- 1:23SPEAKER_02: Uh they gave a a ton of money to that, which is a a great thing that they do.
- 1:29SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:29SPEAKER_02: Um they gave money to uh Dolly Parton's um imagination reading thing.
- 1:36SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 1:36SPEAKER_02: Like millions of dollars.
- 1:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:38SPEAKER_02: You know, that's I think that's cool.
- 1:40SPEAKER_04: Well, she's only worth two billion.
- 1:42SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 1:42SPEAKER_02: The spectacle of her wedding, I really don't care.
- 1:45SPEAKER_02: You know, you got all the details after they were married, like, oh, so Paul McCartney played her wedding.
- 1:49SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:50SPEAKER_04: Adam Sandler was the efficient.
- 1:52SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 1:53unknown: Right.
- 1:53SPEAKER_04: You know that wedding's gonna lie, you know that marriage is gonna go the distance when Adam Sandler is your efficient.
- 1:59SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 2:00SPEAKER_02: The wedding singer.
- 2:02SPEAKER_04: I mean, come on.
- 2:03SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 2:04SPEAKER_04: It was it was You can't go as a peasant, you can't go see the ball drop for the 250th birthday because it's a strain on resources in the city, but they can shut down everything around Madison Square Garden, put up bar, you know, barricades for the queen.
- 2:21SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 2:22SPEAKER_04: Funny how that works.
- 2:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 2:25SPEAKER_04: It's all about the money, it's all about the Benjamin.
- 2:28SPEAKER_02: It's uh well, it's it's also about all about the cult of personality, too.
- 2:32SPEAKER_02: I mean I agree with the cult.
- 2:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:34SPEAKER_02: No, absolutely.
- 2:36SPEAKER_02: Swifties are a cult, man.
- 2:37SPEAKER_02: Absolutely.
- 2:38SPEAKER_04: I'm sorry.
- 2:39SPEAKER_04: Um you're offended by it.
- 2:40SPEAKER_04: I don't care.
- 2:41SPEAKER_02: Um yeah, I just uh I I don't see the need to I mean, if you feel the need to have your wedding at Madison Square Garden.
- 2:51SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I mean, who does that?
- 2:52SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 2:52SPEAKER_02: Nobody does that.
- 2:53SPEAKER_04: Nobody does it.
- 2:54SPEAKER_04: Nobody rents out the entire Madison Square Garden to get married in.
- 2:58SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 2:58SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 2:59SPEAKER_04: And that's I mean, they had a thousand people there, apparently.
- 3:02SPEAKER_04: That speaks volumes.
- 3:03SPEAKER_04: But I mean, how many how many people can you fit in the mat in the in the garden?
- 3:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 3:08SPEAKER_04: Tens of thousands?
- 3:09SPEAKER_02: Tens of thousands.
- 3:10unknown: Yeah.
- 3:10SPEAKER_04: So it was really just a drop in the bucket.
- 3:12SPEAKER_04: I mean, it's just it's just a show.
- 3:14SPEAKER_02: It is a show.
- 3:15SPEAKER_02: And and and I I don't know.
- 3:18SPEAKER_02: I just it there's a lot that was not necessary about it.
- 3:24SPEAKER_02: And the like like is she going to uh did she video it and is she going to release it on pay-per-view?
- 3:33SPEAKER_04: I'm surprised they're not gonna make a movie theater thing about it.
- 3:37SPEAKER_04: Like their tour there.
- 3:38SPEAKER_02: You never know.
- 3:38SPEAKER_02: I mean she may.
- 3:40SPEAKER_04: She might.
- 3:40SPEAKER_04: She might as well.
- 3:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and she'd sell out too.
- 3:42SPEAKER_02: She is the queen.
- 3:43SPEAKER_02: Yep, she'd sell out too.
- 3:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 3:46SPEAKER_02: Um I didn't pay attention to it.
- 3:48SPEAKER_02: My I think my mother, who's, you know, a tabloid reader, called me and said, Did you hear about Taylor's wedding?
- 3:55SPEAKER_02: No, I don't care.
- 3:58SPEAKER_02: I really don't pay attention.
- 3:59SPEAKER_04: I just it just irritates the the the you know the just blatant arrogant, you know, show of wealth and if if you yeah, you know, a wedding is something I I know if they'd gone to like some ho you know, Hawaiian island or something and just had like a you know friends and family kind of thing, I would have been like, oh, that's nice.
- 4:25SPEAKER_04: But you can't no no, we can't do that.
- 4:27SPEAKER_02: No, well, keep this in mind though.
- 4:30SPEAKER_02: Uh uh uh like at ho in Hawaii, it probably would have been outdoor, right?
- 4:35SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 4:36SPEAKER_02: You're not gonna keep the helicopters away.
- 4:38SPEAKER_02: You're not gonna keep the paparazzi away.
- 4:40SPEAKER_04: That's what anti aircraft guns are for.
- 4:42SPEAKER_04: I'm sorry.
- 4:43SPEAKER_04: She's got she's got two billion dollars.
- 4:46SPEAKER_04: She can hire some people.
- 4:47SPEAKER_02: They they did a uh uh a good job.
- 4:50SPEAKER_02: I mean, obviously you knew when the wedding was, you know where it was, but you didn't know who was there until after the whole thing was done.
- 4:59SPEAKER_02: So they did a good job of keeping it under wraps.
- 5:02SPEAKER_02: I don't know why they had to keep it under wraps, um, but they they managed to keep the press away and and not disclose anything that went on, uh, probably because they want to pay they want to release it later.
- 5:19SPEAKER_04: I'm pretty sure that's that's what's gonna happen.
- 5:21SPEAKER_04: We're gonna see like a DVD, you know.
- 5:23SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 5:23unknown: Yeah.
- 5:24SPEAKER_04: You know, it's gonna be like, you know, when uh somebody gets married, you know, when the king gets married over in England, you know, when they you know, remember remember how big a deal every time like one of the Prince Harry's got married or him Harry or what's his face, the other one?
- 5:39SPEAKER_02: Harry and William.
- 5:40SPEAKER_04: William, yeah.
- 5:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 5:41SPEAKER_04: You know, that was like huge, you know, and this is like everybody in England comes out, it's oh this is so this is smashing.
- 5:48SPEAKER_02: I it's smashing.
- 5:49SPEAKER_02: I bet uh I bet she she would um draw a bigger crowd in even England than the Royal.
- 5:55SPEAKER_04: Oh probably.
- 5:56SPEAKER_02: You know.
- 5:57SPEAKER_04: Probably would.
- 5:58SPEAKER_04: Yeah, there'd be people from this country going over to England.
- 6:00SPEAKER_02: And you know it's a tiny island.
- 6:02SPEAKER_04: I mean, you can only fit so many people on there.
- 6:04SPEAKER_02: God love her.
- 6:05SPEAKER_02: I I and she's very talented, and I I I just don't get it.
- 6:09SPEAKER_02: I don't I don't get the hysteria.
- 6:11SPEAKER_02: You know.
- 6:12SPEAKER_02: I get the hysteria.
- 6:13SPEAKER_02: Well, I think she's gonna go downhill from now.
- 6:15SPEAKER_02: Well Well, she's already gone down as far as I'm concerned.
- 6:18SPEAKER_02: Her music anyway.
- 6:18SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 6:19SPEAKER_04: Uh if you Well now she has nothing to write about.
- 6:22SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 6:23SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 6:24SPEAKER_04: I mean, she's she's made her career on, you know, failed relationships and girl power and whatever else.
- 6:30SPEAKER_04: Now what?
- 6:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 6:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 6:32SPEAKER_04: Travis is a dirty pig, dude.
- 6:36SPEAKER_04: I love you so much.
- 6:37SPEAKER_04: I love you.
- 6:38SPEAKER_12: Look in your eyes and blah blah blah.
- 6:41SPEAKER_02: I'm the queen.
- 6:42SPEAKER_02: Sacharin.
- 6:43SPEAKER_02: Um but what she I got off track here.
- 6:46SPEAKER_02: I lost my train of thought.
- 6:48SPEAKER_04: That's what I do.
- 6:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I know.
- 6:49SPEAKER_02: Uh I don't mean I know.
- 6:53SPEAKER_02: But you do sometimes get me off track.
- 6:55SPEAKER_02: What do you mean sometimes?
- 6:56SPEAKER_02: Just like I get you off track sometimes.
- 6:57SPEAKER_02: But we were talking about uh oh, um I said that uh it's gonna go downhill.
- 7:04SPEAKER_02: And what was I saying?
- 7:05SPEAKER_02: What was that thing?
- 7:06SPEAKER_02: Oh, music.
- 7:07SPEAKER_02: No, the Beatles.
- 7:07SPEAKER_02: So, okay, so the the Beatle Mania.
- 7:10SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 7:11SPEAKER_02: I understand Beatlemania.
- 7:13SPEAKER_02: And the reason I understand Beatlemania is because it was the first of its kind.
- 7:17SPEAKER_02: Besides besides Elvis, besides Elvis.
- 7:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 7:20SPEAKER_02: But I mean, like, like they were changing music.
- 7:23SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 7:23SPEAKER_02: Right?
- 7:24SPEAKER_02: They were they were taking music into a different stratosphere with the stuff that they were doing, and you know, the it it was a novelty, you know, and and and I understand Beatlemania and how they grew so huge, right?
- 7:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah, Taylor Swift has really done nothing special.
- 7:45SPEAKER_02: Nothing I'm not nothing besides her music.
- 7:48SPEAKER_02: I mean, you you a lot of people like her music, and I like her early stuff, and uh, you know, I don't mind some of the stuff that she's put out, and she's very talented.
- 7:55SPEAKER_02: I saw her in concert.
- 7:56SPEAKER_02: She deserves, you know, accolades.
- 8:00SPEAKER_02: But she is at such a high, like, um her her cultural this cultural phenomenon that our Swifties or or Taylor Swift, you know, followers I don't understand it.
- 8:16SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's it's like Beatlemania, but evil.
- 8:21SPEAKER_02: I don't know about evil.
- 8:23SPEAKER_04: It's pretty evil.
- 8:24SPEAKER_02: But but I I just Satan's laughing.
- 8:27SPEAKER_04: He's laughing, laughing.
- 8:29SPEAKER_04: He's looking what I did.
- 8:34SPEAKER_02: Maybe maybe you're right.
- 8:35SPEAKER_05: I'm Satan.
- 8:37SPEAKER_02: Maybe you're right.
- 8:38SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 8:39SPEAKER_02: Wait, didn't wasn't Adam Sandler Satan in a movie?
- 8:42SPEAKER_02: Was he?
- 8:42SPEAKER_02: Uh was it um Little Nikki?
- 8:45SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, he was.
- 8:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 8:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 8:46SPEAKER_02: Well there you go.
- 8:47SPEAKER_02: And he officiated her wedding.
- 8:49SPEAKER_02: She is a CIA Psyop.
- 8:51SPEAKER_02: So, yep, there we go.
- 8:53SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 8:54SPEAKER_02: Uh, so yeah, I think we're given more time to that than we need to.
- 8:59SPEAKER_02: Um but yeah, no, I I I heard about it.
- 9:02SPEAKER_02: I didn't really dive into it.
- 9:04SPEAKER_02: The wedding, I mean.
- 9:05SPEAKER_04: I didn't dive into wedding, it just it just irritated me that, you know, you know, it's 4th of July weekend, you know, you're not supposed to do this and that, but she can have all this, and I'm like, you know what?
- 9:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 9:17SPEAKER_04: F that.
- 9:18SPEAKER_02: How was your fourth?
- 9:20SPEAKER_04: Good.
- 9:20SPEAKER_04: I ate a lot of hamburgers and hot dogs.
- 9:22SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 9:23SPEAKER_02: Good.
- 9:24SPEAKER_02: I didn't eat a lot, but I had so I had well, you know, the fourth of July is also my in-law's uh anniversary.
- 9:29SPEAKER_02: Oh, right, right, right.
- 9:30SPEAKER_02: 56 years uh they've been married, so uh I brought my grill down to their place and and I I uh cooked hot dogs and hamburgers and we had a nice little cookout for a little while and went home and I think I took a nap, maybe.
- 9:46SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 9:47SPEAKER_02: And then we decided uh this whole um uh Aroustic Center Mall extravaganza.
- 9:56SPEAKER_02: You know, that people were just complaining about and and then cheering about and you know, we wanted to see fireworks, you know, but we it's because it's the fourth of July and it's the 250th.
- 10:07SPEAKER_02: Sure.
- 10:07SPEAKER_02: You know, we've seen fireworks before.
- 10:09SPEAKER_02: Once you see fireworks, you've seen fireworks.
- 10:10SPEAKER_02: You've seen fireworks, yeah.
- 10:11SPEAKER_02: But you know, we wanted it was just myself, uh Myra, and my wife.
- 10:17SPEAKER_02: Eli was up north, Finn was in Canada.
- 10:22SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah, I remember, yeah.
- 10:23SPEAKER_04: Happy birthday, America! I'm leaving.
- 10:28SPEAKER_12: Yeah, he went to Quebec City, actually.
- 10:30SPEAKER_04: I feel the same way about Canadians that come over here on Canada Day.
- 10:35SPEAKER_04: What are you hosers doing?
- 10:37unknown: Right.
- 10:37SPEAKER_02: Hey?
- 10:39SPEAKER_02: Um, and so it was just the three of us, and we said, uh, let's let's just take a drive.
- 10:45SPEAKER_02: So we drove, because you know it was at the it was at the mall.
- 10:48SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 10:48SPEAKER_02: Um there's that parking lot that they don't do anything with.
- 10:52SPEAKER_02: There's Lowe's, then there's which one?
- 10:55SPEAKER_02: Well, there's Lowe's, then there's that little parking lot, and then there's the mall, big mall parking lot, right?
- 11:00SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 11:01SPEAKER_02: And so it was in that middle parking lot, which I thought was fantastic because we don't rides every like Nope, they do that in the in the Kmart.
- 11:10SPEAKER_04: Which one?
- 11:10SPEAKER_04: Which oh oh, I know which one you don't know.
- 11:12SPEAKER_02: You know, so it's like it's like you have to stop at this stop sign, yeah, and then you have to go stop at another stop sign.
- 11:17SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 11:18SPEAKER_02: So there's this this little parking lot that they don't do anything with.
- 11:21SPEAKER_02: There's never any overflow that has to park in there.
- 11:24SPEAKER_02: So that's where they shot off all the fireworks.
- 11:27SPEAKER_02: And so first we went to the top of the hill and we're like, oh, we can see.
- 11:31SPEAKER_02: I mean, I I took a picture of them.
- 11:33SPEAKER_02: Uh we could see the fireworks going up.
- 11:35SPEAKER_02: It's quite a ways away, and it was interesting because you saw the mall's fireworks show, and then off in the distance you'll saw like three or four other ones.
- 11:44SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 11:44SPEAKER_02: You know, at camps and stuff.
- 11:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 11:46SPEAKER_02: Anyway, so we couldn't see it very well.
- 11:48SPEAKER_02: So I said, let's just take a drive over by the mall, you know, and just see what we can see.
- 11:55SPEAKER_02: And we I said, we don't have to stay, we'll just go.
- 11:57SPEAKER_02: And and so we did.
- 11:59SPEAKER_02: We went over to the mall.
- 12:00SPEAKER_02: Dude, I'm telling you, Lowe's parking lot full, not a parking space.
- 12:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 12:08SPEAKER_02: Um what used to be Shogun slopes or whatever.
- 12:12SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 12:12SPEAKER_02: Not a parking space.
- 12:13SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 12:13SPEAKER_02: Full.
- 12:14SPEAKER_02: The mall parking lot, all the way back to JC Penny, guaranteed.
- 12:19SPEAKER_02: Full.
- 12:20SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah.
- 12:20SPEAKER_02: I love it.
- 12:21SPEAKER_02: Um and lined up on the side of the road.
- 12:25SPEAKER_02: Um, and I'm driving by, I'm like, holy crap, and there's people walking, right?
- 12:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 12:28SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, hello, where do you what do you want to do?
- 12:31SPEAKER_02: Where are you gonna park?
- 12:31SPEAKER_02: I said, Oh, look, there's a space right there.
- 12:33SPEAKER_02: So we turned around and we parked on the side of the road.
- 12:35SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 12:36SPEAKER_02: And so we watched it, you know, I th it was in after.
- 12:39SPEAKER_02: Did you get any free weed?
- 12:41SPEAKER_02: No, we didn't go, we didn't go in and take part in any of that stuff.
- 12:45SPEAKER_02: Although I did find on my walk this morning, uh, I did uh right here on on my my road, my country road, um, I did find this.
- 12:59SPEAKER_04: Oh, of course.
- 13:00SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 13:00SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 13:01SPEAKER_04: That's price.
- 13:02SPEAKER_02: This is uh premium cannabis can uh canister uh from a certain uh establishment in town.
- 13:10SPEAKER_02: Right on my road.
- 13:11SPEAKER_02: Uh my my daughter rides her bike on this road.
- 13:14SPEAKER_02: Anyway, anyway.
- 13:15SPEAKER_02: Gotta love it.
- 13:16SPEAKER_02: Uh so we stayed.
- 13:18SPEAKER_02: It was an hour-long uh show.
- 13:20SPEAKER_02: We we didn't stay for the whole well, we we got to there towards the end, and so we watched the finale and it was I mean it was good, I guess.
- 13:30SPEAKER_02: I mean it was a fireworks show.
- 13:31SPEAKER_02: It's yeah, it's a fireworks show is a fireworks show.
- 13:33SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 13:34SPEAKER_04: And then uh somebody in ePlantation had them because I was listening to them.
- 13:39SPEAKER_04: From like nine to ten.
- 13:40SPEAKER_04: There was like fireworks over here, like towards ePlantation.
- 13:44SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 13:44SPEAKER_04: And then there were fireworks going off like towards Marcel.
- 13:47SPEAKER_04: And I'm like, are they competing?
- 13:48SPEAKER_04: Are they the same ones?
- 13:49SPEAKER_04: What's going on?
- 13:50SPEAKER_04: Probably.
- 13:50SPEAKER_04: You know, so I don't know.
- 13:52SPEAKER_02: Or just the echo was traveling.
- 13:53SPEAKER_04: No, no, it was it was two distinct separate shows.
- 13:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 13:57SPEAKER_04: Quote unquote.
- 13:58SPEAKER_02: I guarantee you though that uh because it was an hour-long fireworks show, it had to be a hundred grand.
- 14:04SPEAKER_04: Oh, easy had to be a hundred grand.
- 14:05SPEAKER_02: Easy.
- 14:06SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 14:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 14:07SPEAKER_04: So I wonder where all this money came from.
- 14:09SPEAKER_04: Well, well, never mind.
- 14:11SPEAKER_04: I know where it came from.
- 14:13SPEAKER_02: Taylor Swift?
- 14:14SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 14:15SPEAKER_04: That's it.
- 14:17SPEAKER_02: She was doling out money.
- 14:18SPEAKER_04: She's like, hey, you guys are having fireworks up there?
- 14:21SPEAKER_04: Here.
- 14:21SPEAKER_04: Here's a hundred grand for some fireworks and a hundred grand for free weed for everybody.
- 14:25SPEAKER_04: There you go.
- 14:26SPEAKER_04: Enjoy.
- 14:26SPEAKER_02: And enjoy my new album.
- 14:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 14:28SPEAKER_02: That's what it's gonna take.
- 14:30SPEAKER_04: Travis says hi.
- 14:32SPEAKER_02: Uh so that's what we did on the fourth.
- 14:35SPEAKER_02: Um, and you know, nothing special other than that.
- 14:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 14:39SPEAKER_02: So but you had a cookout.
- 14:41SPEAKER_02: What how long have your parents been married?
- 14:44SPEAKER_02: Oh, I put you on the spot.
- 14:46SPEAKER_02: Sorry.
- 14:47SPEAKER_02: It's over fifty.
- 14:48SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's way over fifty.
- 14:49SPEAKER_04: Uh uh.
- 14:50SPEAKER_02: Is it more than fifty-six?
- 14:55SPEAKER_02: I just think that's amazing.
- 14:56SPEAKER_04: They got married in 69.
- 14:58SPEAKER_02: Well, then it's 57 because my uh in-laws, I think, got married in 1970.
- 15:03SPEAKER_04: Okay, yeah, so yeah.
- 15:04SPEAKER_02: So six wow, that's 57 years.
- 15:07SPEAKER_02: That's that's unreal, man.
- 15:08SPEAKER_02: That's crazy.
- 15:10SPEAKER_02: Crazy.
- 15:12SPEAKER_02: Um what else?
- 15:15SPEAKER_02: What else is going on?
- 15:16SPEAKER_02: I uh I got uh invited to play bass in uh uh Dust Pans, uh the whatever.
- 15:23SPEAKER_04: Oh really?
- 15:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 15:25SPEAKER_02: Um I'm not going to.
- 15:26SPEAKER_04: Um did they lose their bass player?
- 15:28SPEAKER_04: I guess.
- 15:29SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 15:29SPEAKER_04: I guess I thought Roy was the bass player.
- 15:31SPEAKER_02: No, Roy's a guitar player, apparently, which I I didn't know either.
- 15:33SPEAKER_02: I thought he was he was a bass player.
- 15:35SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 15:35SPEAKER_02: Uh, but he sa he was asking for um these certain dates.
- 15:41SPEAKER_02: Um really short notice, unfortunately.
- 15:45SPEAKER_02: I told him unfortunately, uh I that it would have been fun.
- 15:48SPEAKER_02: Um but two of those dates I had gigs on.
- 15:51SPEAKER_02: And then one of them uh is a basketball weekend.
- 15:55SPEAKER_02: Um and one of them I could one of them I could do, but he's he's like, that one we can do without a bass player.
- 16:04SPEAKER_02: So uh he's like, no, don't worry about it.
- 16:05SPEAKER_02: Thanks for checking.
- 16:06SPEAKER_04: So I did say the advertisement for the uh Buck Dynasty gig on the 11th.
- 16:10SPEAKER_02: Oh, did you?
- 16:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 16:11SPEAKER_02: Oh cool.
- 16:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's coming right up Saturday.
- 16:13SPEAKER_02: This Saturday.
- 16:14SPEAKER_02: Um I don't know who we're raising money for.
- 16:16SPEAKER_02: We usually it's usually a fundraiser for something.
- 16:19SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I I didn't I just saw the poster.
- 16:21SPEAKER_04: I didn't uh I didn't read the get into the fine details.
- 16:25SPEAKER_04: It's an AI poster, so that was it really.
- 16:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 16:28SPEAKER_02: I can't stand that.
- 16:29SPEAKER_02: I mean I I was doing it for a while.
- 16:30SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah.
- 16:31SPEAKER_02: And then I stopped because it's like it's it they all look the same.
- 16:34SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you can tell now.
- 16:34SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you're like, ah, AI.
- 16:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 16:37SPEAKER_02: Um it's it's it's good in a pinch, I guess, when you really need you know Yeah, I mean if you don't have any like design experience.
- 16:45SPEAKER_02: Experience.
- 16:45SPEAKER_02: I mean it's like you know, you can like uh put in blah blah blah and yeah, but even even advertisements now like like like commercial advertisements are are are all AI.
- 16:54SPEAKER_02: It's just uh and and Bragdon sent me a uh thing on Instagram that I don't know if you've seen or not, but you know, AI is you know it it kind of scares me uh a little bit.
- 17:08SPEAKER_09: Have you seen this FIFA that's just karate kid?
- 17:20SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 17:22SPEAKER_09: That's funny.
- 17:25SPEAKER_02: That's uh Snuffle Obagus and uh Chewbacca.
- 17:28SPEAKER_04: Chewaka, yeah.
- 17:32SPEAKER_02: Tomb Raider, Angeline and Billy, and and Jones.
- 17:37SPEAKER_02: Austin Powers and James Bond, Sean Connery.
- 17:45SPEAKER_02: The guy the Pennywise.
- 17:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah, Pennywise.
- 17:51SPEAKER_02: I mean the the count from Sensame Street and what's his name twilight.
- 18:01SPEAKER_02: I mean it's funny, but that's Brad Pitt from seven.
- 18:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and he sent me another one too, but which I haven't watched yet, but I told him I said uh AI scares me.
- 18:18SPEAKER_02: He says it was just funny to see.
- 18:19SPEAKER_02: Uh, but yeah, it scares me too.
- 18:21SPEAKER_04: Well, every I when Little Wayne cancelled his showdown in Bangor, everybody was putting him in all these pictures, and I'm like, when did all of a sudden did Little Wayne become a AI meme?
- 18:32SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 18:32SPEAKER_02: Well, and and that's the thing too, because yes, you can almost tell uh what what is AI and what isn't.
- 18:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 18:40SPEAKER_02: I mean, there's a there's a there's a just certain things are off, but sometimes you can't.
- 18:45SPEAKER_04: Sometimes you're like and why why is why is little Wayne in my living room?
- 18:50SPEAKER_02: Right?
- 18:50SPEAKER_02: You know, and you know Well, I mean you're using this stuff to to make something funny, which is which is fine, but you you could it can also be used for bad stuff.
- 19:00SPEAKER_04: Yeah, exactly.
- 19:01SPEAKER_02: You know, which is scary.
- 19:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 19:03SPEAKER_02: Um I just I just read that they're doing a series, um, Willie Wonka, the chocolate chocolate factory, to TV series, and they are using Gene Wilder's voice as the narrator.
- 19:18SPEAKER_02: It's AI.
- 19:19SPEAKER_02: Of course it is.
- 19:20SPEAKER_02: And the family, Gene Wilder's family, gave it their blessing.
- 19:24SPEAKER_04: Of course they did.
- 19:25SPEAKER_04: They want money.
- 19:26SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 19:27SPEAKER_04: Because they don't have to pay anybody to to voice it.
- 19:31SPEAKER_04: No, that's just easy.
- 19:32SPEAKER_04: You just type it in and boom.
- 19:34SPEAKER_02: And it I don't it's just it's wrong.
- 19:36SPEAKER_02: It's wrong.
- 19:36SPEAKER_04: I don't know what are you gonna make a series out of Willy Wonka.
- 19:39SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 19:39SPEAKER_04: That doesn't make any sense.
- 19:41SPEAKER_02: Unless they um yeah, I don't know.
- 19:43SPEAKER_02: I don't know.
- 19:44SPEAKER_02: And I just read somewhere uh just before we got down here that someone I can't remember the I can't remember what it was.
- 19:53SPEAKER_02: Someone is uh relaunching.
- 19:56SPEAKER_02: Did you know that the the relaunching Little House on the Prairie for Netflix?
- 20:00SPEAKER_02: No, yeah, new cat new care cast, you know, new everything.
- 20:04SPEAKER_02: But same story.
- 20:05SPEAKER_02: Laura Ingleswell.
- 20:07unknown: Why?
- 20:08SPEAKER_02: Why?
- 20:09SPEAKER_04: Because I gotta ruin a good thing.
- 20:10SPEAKER_02: Well, there was another one.
- 20:11SPEAKER_02: It was a m- I think it was a movie that someone was was redoing, and I thought to myself, why?
- 20:17SPEAKER_02: What's wrong with the original?
- 20:19SPEAKER_04: I I I just there's no original I there's no ideas left.
- 20:22SPEAKER_02: That's gotta be what it is.
- 20:24SPEAKER_02: That's gotta be.
- 20:24SPEAKER_02: That's why you get so many of these remakes.
- 20:26SPEAKER_02: Well, I mean, they always they always say, uh, you know, like um AR executives, they'll say, uh, you should cover this song because it was a hit once, it'll be a hit again.
- 20:36SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 20:36SPEAKER_02: And that's the same mentality.
- 20:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 20:38SPEAKER_04: You know, people people, you know, uh people love this movie, so why don't you remake it?
- 20:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah, exactly.
- 20:44SPEAKER_02: Update it.
- 20:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah, exactly.
- 20:46SPEAKER_02: Okay, yeah.
- 20:47SPEAKER_02: And it usually ends up being, you know, not as good.
- 20:51SPEAKER_02: Not as good.
- 20:52SPEAKER_02: Not as good.
- 20:53SPEAKER_02: Um, all right, so let's get to this new music.
- 20:57SPEAKER_02: Um music.
- 20:58SPEAKER_02: Wait, do you want to hear the new music for?
- 21:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah, okay.
- 21:00SPEAKER_02: We'll do the new music, and then uh I want to talk about some song lyrics.
- 21:04SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 21:05SPEAKER_02: Um, so first let's start with this because I got this right here.
- 21:08SPEAKER_02: You had told me this just as you got here, and I knew it was uh out, but I didn't know it was out.
- 21:15SPEAKER_02: Does that make sense?
- 21:16SPEAKER_04: Absolutely.
- 21:17SPEAKER_02: I knew they were coming out with a new album, but I didn't realize that the the first single was out, and I haven't heard it yet.
- 21:23SPEAKER_02: So this is um new music from Stryper um from the album Throne of Thorns.
- 21:31SPEAKER_02: So it's that's the name of the album as well.
- 21:33SPEAKER_02: Title Track.
- 21:34SPEAKER_02: Title Track.
- 21:34SPEAKER_02: So this is the title track to Throne of Thorns.
- 21:37SPEAKER_02: Say that ten times fast.
- 21:38SPEAKER_02: That's not hard, easy to say.
- 21:40SPEAKER_02: Throne Throne of Thorns.
- 21:42SPEAKER_02: Throne of Thorns.
- 21:44SPEAKER_02: Throne of Thorns.
- 21:48SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 21:49SPEAKER_02: Can I just say something?
- 21:51SPEAKER_02: Robert's sweet.
- 21:53SPEAKER_02: You know, stop dyeing your beard.
- 21:56SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you're not fooling anyway, buddy.
- 21:58SPEAKER_02: Stop dyeing your beard.
- 22:00SPEAKER_02: It looks ridiculous.
- 22:01SPEAKER_02: You have a black beard, but blonde locks.
- 22:04SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 22:05SPEAKER_04: We're not fooled.
- 24:01SPEAKER_02: I like it.
- 24:02SPEAKER_02: I dig it.
- 24:04SPEAKER_02: That one chord, that one chord change in the chorus is unexpected.
- 24:09SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 24:10SPEAKER_02: Which was very cool.
- 24:17SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I'll stop it there.
- 24:19SPEAKER_02: It's good stuff though.
- 24:20SPEAKER_02: Always from Striper.
- 24:21SPEAKER_02: And that new album comes out September.
- 24:24SPEAKER_02: September 25th.
- 24:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 24:26SPEAKER_02: September 25th.
- 24:27SPEAKER_02: So very, very cool.
- 24:29SPEAKER_02: Michael Sweet.
- 24:32SPEAKER_04: He still sounds great.
- 24:33SPEAKER_02: Robert Sweet on drums and Perry Richardson, thank you.
- 24:37SPEAKER_02: On uh bass guitar.
- 24:39SPEAKER_02: He's been playing with them for a while now, right?
- 24:41SPEAKER_04: Yeah, ever since uh Tim quit.
- 24:43SPEAKER_02: Tim Gaines.
- 24:44SPEAKER_04: Tim Gaines left.
- 24:44SPEAKER_02: But it's been like 15, 20 years.
- 24:46SPEAKER_04: It's been a while, yeah.
- 24:47SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 24:48SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 24:48SPEAKER_02: That's what I thought.
- 24:49SPEAKER_02: Uh okay, we got new music from Asia.
- 24:52SPEAKER_02: Asia.
- 24:53SPEAKER_02: Asia.
- 24:54SPEAKER_02: Actually, it's a video too.
- 24:56SPEAKER_02: The new album is called Indigo.
- 24:58SPEAKER_02: And they have a song called The Traveler.
- 25:02SPEAKER_02: So this looks decidedly uh lower budget than the Traveler video.
- 25:08SPEAKER_02: But we'll see.
- 25:09SPEAKER_02: We'll see what this sounds like.
- 25:14SPEAKER_02: We won't get into the uh maybe we will.
- 25:18SPEAKER_02: This whole main senate thing.
- 25:21SPEAKER_02: You wanna go there?
- 25:22SPEAKER_02: Nope.
- 25:23SPEAKER_02: Okay, good.
- 25:24SPEAKER_02: Uh I will just uh let me just say this.
- 25:26SPEAKER_02: The whole thing was planned.
- 25:29SPEAKER_02: Guaranteed.
- 25:30SPEAKER_02: The whole thing was planned.
- 25:30SPEAKER_04: Everything's planned.
- 25:31SPEAKER_02: Everything is planned.
- 25:32SPEAKER_04: Everything's a psyop now.
- 25:33SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 25:34SPEAKER_02: You know how uh we got Kamala as the nominee?
- 25:37SPEAKER_02: That's how how we're gonna get.
- 25:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah, exactly.
- 25:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's exactly what's gonna get.
- 25:41SPEAKER_02: It's planned.
- 25:41SPEAKER_02: It's all planned.
- 25:42SPEAKER_02: Anyway, that's all I want to say about that.
- 25:44SPEAKER_02: Here is Asia the Traveler.
- 26:00SPEAKER_04: Definitely sounds like a oh yeah.
- 26:08SPEAKER_02: That's what you want, right?
- 26:09SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 26:12SPEAKER_02: Curious as to how many original members there are, because there's some young looking guys in that right now.
- 27:10SPEAKER_02: I dig it.
- 27:11SPEAKER_02: I like it.
- 27:12SPEAKER_02: It's very eighties.
- 27:12SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah.
- 27:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, very eighties.
- 27:14SPEAKER_02: I dare say the guitar player, the keyboard player, and maybe the drummer are original, but it might just be the keyboard player.
- 27:23SPEAKER_02: Let me see.
- 27:24SPEAKER_02: I don't think it says.
- 27:26SPEAKER_02: Uh I will say this.
- 27:29SPEAKER_02: That uh it includes uh two songs written by late frontman John Wetton.
- 27:39SPEAKER_02: Um Steve Howe of Yes and Mike Portnoy make guest appearances on the album.
- 27:44SPEAKER_02: Oh.
- 27:45SPEAKER_02: That's kind of cool.
- 27:46SPEAKER_02: That is cool.
- 27:47SPEAKER_02: Um, let's see.
- 27:49SPEAKER_02: It's the first time Asia's latest lineup will have been heard on record.
- 27:53SPEAKER_02: Co-founder Jeff Downs' current companions are guitarist John Mitchell of It Bites and Lonely Robot, drummer Virgil Donati of Planet X, and bassist vocalist Harry Whitley.
- 28:06SPEAKER_02: So I was right, Jeff Downs is the only original member.
- 28:10SPEAKER_02: The rest of them are Hired Guns.
- 28:14SPEAKER_02: Well, I shouldn't say hired guns, but.
- 28:16SPEAKER_02: Uh I like it.
- 28:17SPEAKER_02: The Traveler into the Light.
- 28:19SPEAKER_02: Let me see if I can tell you when the album comes out.
- 28:24SPEAKER_02: Because I'm not sure if it's said.
- 28:26SPEAKER_02: Maybe it did.
- 28:27SPEAKER_02: My internet is having a field out.
- 28:29SPEAKER_02: Oh, it comes out uh November 6th.
- 28:33SPEAKER_02: November 6th.
- 28:36SPEAKER_02: Um, alright, so moving on to our next piece of new music.
- 28:40SPEAKER_02: Uh, if my um computer cooperates.
- 28:43SPEAKER_02: Uh I'd like to affectionately call this group the Seeds of Kiss.
- 28:49SPEAKER_02: Um this is um It's a it's slightly better than what I think Yeah, they named it Stanley Simmons because it's the son of Paul Stanley and the son of Gene Simmons.
- 28:58SPEAKER_02: Um Stanley Simmons, I don't know, just although we did hear one of their songs before, we liked it.
- 29:04SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you remember that?
- 29:06SPEAKER_04: The one we played a couple weeks ago.
- 29:07SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 29:07SPEAKER_02: We liked it.
- 29:08SPEAKER_02: It was good.
- 29:08SPEAKER_02: So this is one called Don't Leave Me Hear Like That.
- 29:12SPEAKER_02: Um and again, my internet is seems to be um uh having a field day here, but let's see if if we can hear this one.
- 30:18SPEAKER_04: I dig it.
- 30:19SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I like it.
- 30:20SPEAKER_04: Pop, you know, it's a it's a nice mix of Tom Petty and the Beatles.
- 30:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and you know, it's not something you'd expect from the Sons of Kids.
- 30:28SPEAKER_04: Well, I'm kinda glad because Me too.
- 30:30SPEAKER_04: I was, you know, my greatest fear is it was they were gonna try to replicate me right kiss point, you know, 2.0.
- 30:36SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 30:37SPEAKER_04: You know, they're doing their own thing, which is and it sounds really good.
- 30:40SPEAKER_04: They sound good together, the harmonies, yeah.
- 30:42SPEAKER_04: The harmonies are tight.
- 30:55SPEAKER_02: It's it's freaking catchy.
- 30:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 31:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, I dig it.
- 31:12SPEAKER_02: I dig it a lot.
- 31:14SPEAKER_02: I might have to I was gonna say, I might have to get the album.
- 31:17SPEAKER_02: I might have to follow them on Spotify.
- 31:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 31:21SPEAKER_02: Stanley Simmons, don't leave me here like that.
- 31:24SPEAKER_02: I wanna uh give you details.
- 31:26SPEAKER_02: The duo will release their debut LP on August 28th.
- 31:31SPEAKER_02: So the end of uh the end of August.
- 31:33SPEAKER_02: Very cool.
- 31:35SPEAKER_02: I like it.
- 31:36SPEAKER_02: Uh songs that I I didn't know about uh but are getting news um lately.
- 31:44SPEAKER_02: One of them happens to be a song from Foreigner.
- 31:47SPEAKER_02: Now I read an article that Foreigner um have been performing lately a song from the Head Games album.
- 31:57SPEAKER_02: And it's causing quite a bit of controversy.
- 32:03SPEAKER_02: And people are in an uproar saying this is a sexist, you know, and it's just you know, of course they're gonna do that because of because of the age that we live in.
- 32:12SPEAKER_02: Um I this is the only one came out of what?
- 32:14SPEAKER_04: 70.
- 32:15SPEAKER_04: No, uh Head Headgames Late 70s, or might be uh late 70s.
- 32:20SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 32:20SPEAKER_02: Yeah, headgames might be late 70s.
- 32:22SPEAKER_02: I will let me double check because um foreigners uh 79.
- 32:30SPEAKER_02: Yep, yep.
- 32:31SPEAKER_02: And and it had Dirty White Boy on it, had Headgames, uh, which was it was not one of their best received albums.
- 32:40SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 32:40SPEAKER_02: Um but there's a deep cut on there called Women, and with this new lineup of foreigner, you know, Jeff Pilson, and they've got a new singer now, although Lou Graham has been guesting in some of their concerts.
- 32:53SPEAKER_02: Um Mick Jones is no longer playing with him, he still runs the band, but he's he's no longer playing with him.
- 32:59SPEAKER_02: Um they decided that they hadn't played it in a long time and they wanted to bring it back, so they brought it back.
- 33:05SPEAKER_02: And I have not heard the song.
- 33:07SPEAKER_02: I'm a foreigner fan.
- 33:10SPEAKER_02: But I shouldn't say I haven't heard the song.
- 33:13SPEAKER_02: I probably have heard the song because I've heard the whole Headgames album.
- 33:17SPEAKER_02: But I don't remember it.
- 33:19SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 33:19SPEAKER_02: Because it's you know, it's one of those things that it's like, oh yeah, I heard that song, but it didn't stick with me.
- 33:24SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 33:25SPEAKER_02: Um Yeah, but I I I went to the figure find out what was the controversy of the song.
- 33:37SPEAKER_02: And when I tell you this, Doug, I mean I don't understand why we haven't made it.
- 33:44SPEAKER_02: Because we could we could um we could be three sheets to the wind and write a better song than this.
- 33:53SPEAKER_05: Uh Let's try it! I got some I got some right here.
- 34:01SPEAKER_02: Unopened, of course.
- 34:02SPEAKER_02: Um We're gonna hear the song earlier.
- 34:07SPEAKER_04: Oh fish!
- 34:10SPEAKER_02: We're we're gonna hear the song in a second, but I I just want to read you the lyrics.
- 34:13SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 34:14SPEAKER_02: Um called Women by Foreigners.
- 34:19SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 34:20SPEAKER_02: Women behind bars, women in fast cars, women in distress, women with no dress, women in airplanes, women who play games, women in uniform.
- 34:34SPEAKER_02: See that woman with her clothes gone?
- 34:38SPEAKER_02: Women who satisfy, women you can't buy, like women in magazines and women in a limousine, women who sip champagne, women who feel no pain, women in a disco and women who don't want to know.
- 34:53SPEAKER_02: No, no.
- 34:55SPEAKER_02: Oh, women wanting sympathy, women feeling ecstasy, women who live in fantasies bringing man to his knees, women who boil to love, women who need a shove, women who can't be beat.
- 35:11SPEAKER_02: Get that woman in the back seat.
- 35:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 35:15SPEAKER_02: Women in the USA.
- 35:17SPEAKER_02: Those women steal your heart away, women into rock and roll, women who steal the show, go, go, go.
- 35:25SPEAKER_02: Women that do write songs about, women that turn around and kick you out, women you dream about all your life, women that stab you in the back with a switchblade knife.
- 35:36SPEAKER_02: Oh women, ooh who talking about women all around the world.
- 35:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah, women, all the naughty girls talking about women.
- 35:44SPEAKER_02: Come on, baby.
- 35:48SPEAKER_02: I wish I could show the picture of your face right now.
- 35:51SPEAKER_04: Who co-wrote this?

- 37:21SPEAKER_04: This this song has gotta be a joke.
- 37:23SPEAKER_04: They wrote this as a joke.
- 37:25SPEAKER_04: Like I've said, I think they're probably drunk when they wrote it.
- 37:27SPEAKER_04: Drunk or high or both.
- 37:29SPEAKER_04: This is a terrible song.
- 37:32SPEAKER_04: I thought maybe the the actual music would would uh would like give it some like yeah, credence, but now no, it doesn't.
- 37:40SPEAKER_04: It just adds to the awfulness, yeah.
- 38:15SPEAKER_02: Yeah, no, it uh it doesn't redeem itself anywhere.
- 38:18SPEAKER_04: No, it's just the whole thing is just awful.
- 38:22SPEAKER_04: I'm curious as to why why of all their deep tracks, why this song?
- 38:28SPEAKER_12: Right.
- 38:28SPEAKER_02: I don't I don't understand.
- 38:30SPEAKER_02: Maybe it was too maybe maybe it was to purposefully start controversy.
- 38:38SPEAKER_02: And so that they would, you know, no no news is bad no or no news is no no uh no press is bad press or whatever.
- 38:47SPEAKER_04: Yeah, whatever.
- 38:47SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 38:48SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
- 38:49SPEAKER_02: Even even bad press is press or whatever it is.
- 38:52SPEAKER_02: I don't know.

- 38:56SPEAKER_02: Let's do that song, we'll get people talking.
- 38:59SPEAKER_02: You know?
- 38:59SPEAKER_02: Terrible.
- 39:00SPEAKER_02: It is awful.
- 39:01SPEAKER_02: And I love Foreigner.
- 39:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 39:03SPEAKER_02: Uh but that's that's just no bueno.
- 39:06SPEAKER_02: That was that was really bad.
- 39:08SPEAKER_02: Oh.
- 39:09SPEAKER_02: Um Let's see if we can redeem ourselves.
- 39:15SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 39:15SPEAKER_02: Let's see if we can redeem the podcast here.
- 39:17SPEAKER_02: Uh, we're gonna do Poorly Explained Movies 80s edition.
- 39:22SPEAKER_02: I have chosen three that I think you'll get.
- 39:25SPEAKER_02: And one that I think you're gonna have a hard time with.
- 39:30SPEAKER_05: Are you ready?
- 39:31SPEAKER_02: Retty.
- 39:34SPEAKER_02: Uh I am ready.
- 39:35SPEAKER_02: This one I don't know if you'll get.
- 39:37SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 39:37SPEAKER_02: I thought you might, but maybe you won't.
- 39:40SPEAKER_02: A 20-year-old doesn't look a day over twelve.
- 39:47SPEAKER_02: The hint is thanks to a spaceship.
- 39:51SPEAKER_02: 1986.
- 39:56SPEAKER_04: Is it explorers?
- 39:58SPEAKER_02: Oh, you're very close.
- 39:59SPEAKER_02: It's not explorers.
- 40:00SPEAKER_02: Not explorers.
- 40:01SPEAKER_02: Same kind of era, same kind of uh vibe.
- 40:05SPEAKER_02: Short circuit?
- 40:06SPEAKER_02: Nope.
- 40:10SPEAKER_02: You may not have seen this one.

- 40:23SPEAKER_02: A clown throws away money while a bat watches.
- 40:29SPEAKER_02: It's gotta be Batman.
- 40:30SPEAKER_02: It is Batman, 1989.
- 40:32SPEAKER_02: Have we done that before?
- 40:32SPEAKER_02: I don't think so.
- 40:33SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 40:34SPEAKER_02: Uh, sorry.
- 40:37SPEAKER_02: The president rescues a snake.
- 40:43SPEAKER_02: Uh hint and gets a mixtape in return.
- 40:48SPEAKER_02: I know you've seen this movie, but this is really bad explanation.
- 40:52SPEAKER_04: I don't even know.
- 40:53SPEAKER_02: The president rescues a snake and gets a mixtape in return.
- 40:56SPEAKER_02: 1981.
- 41:00SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 41:01SPEAKER_02: I'll give you a star, see if you get it.
- 41:03SPEAKER_02: Kurt Russell.
- 41:07SPEAKER_04: No?
- 41:08SPEAKER_02: No?
- 41:08SPEAKER_02: Escape from New York.
- 41:10SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 41:11SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 41:13SPEAKER_04: I haven't seen that movie for that.
- 41:14SPEAKER_02: I thought Snake Pliskan rescued the president.
- 41:16SPEAKER_04: That's what I thought.
- 41:19SPEAKER_02: That makes this even worse.
- 41:20SPEAKER_04: That's what that's what that's what I'm weirded out then.
- 41:22SPEAKER_02: Yeah, the president rescues a snake.
- 41:24SPEAKER_02: No, I thought it was the other way around.
- 41:25SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's what I thought, too.
- 41:26SPEAKER_02: Snake Pliskin rescues the president.
- 41:28SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 41:28SPEAKER_02: We should write them.
- 41:30SPEAKER_04: Hey.
- 41:30SPEAKER_04: Facts right.
- 41:32SPEAKER_02: Alright.
- 41:33SPEAKER_02: So here's one I don't think you'll get, but you might surprise me.
- 41:37SPEAKER_02: A new dad runs out for diapers.
- 41:39SPEAKER_02: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 41:40SPEAKER_02: You say new or nude?
- 41:43SPEAKER_02: New.
- 41:44SPEAKER_02: New.
- 41:44SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 41:45SPEAKER_02: A new dad runs out for diapers.
- 41:50SPEAKER_02: The hint is he steals them.
- 41:53SPEAKER_02: 1987.
- 41:56SPEAKER_02: And I'll give you a star if you need it.
- 42:00SPEAKER_02: Nicholas Cage.
- 42:02SPEAKER_04: Oh, is it uh Raising Arizona?
- 42:04SPEAKER_02: It is Raising Arizona.
- 42:05SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 42:06SPEAKER_02: You made up for the one you didn't get.
- 42:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 42:08SPEAKER_02: And I don't I don't count the uh Escape from New York because that was their fault.
- 42:12SPEAKER_02: That was weird.
- 42:12SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that was their fault.
- 42:13SPEAKER_04: That was nut that made no sense whatsoever.
- 42:16SPEAKER_02: Good job.
- 42:18SPEAKER_04: Did Foreigner write that question?
- 42:21SPEAKER_02: No, there's no mention of women.
- 42:25SPEAKER_04: Women in a car.
- 42:27SPEAKER_04: Women in a bar.
- 42:28SPEAKER_04: Women in the sky.
- 42:30SPEAKER_04: Women in a pie.
- 42:32SPEAKER_02: That's exactly what I thought of.
- 42:34SPEAKER_02: It's like just sitting around.
- 42:35SPEAKER_02: Let's rhyme.
- 42:36SPEAKER_04: Let's rhyme.
- 42:38SPEAKER_04: Women with a guitar.
- 42:40SPEAKER_04: Women with my star.
- 42:43SPEAKER_04: Women.
- 42:45SPEAKER_04: Women in a truck.
- 42:46SPEAKER_04: Women I'd like to buy a duck.
- 42:53SPEAKER_04: Is it this one?
- 42:54SPEAKER_12: Yes, it is.
- 42:54SPEAKER_12: Okay, good.
- 42:58SPEAKER_04: So stupid.
- 42:59SPEAKER_04: It's such a stupid song.
- 43:01SPEAKER_04: Oh my gosh.
- 43:02SPEAKER_04: Are we ready for the next well I I have not heard from the judge.
- 43:08SPEAKER_04: You haven't heard from the judge.
- 43:10SPEAKER_04: Which is unusual.
- 43:11SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 43:12SPEAKER_02: Uh so what do you want to do?
- 43:13SPEAKER_04: Well, we can do present.
- 43:15SPEAKER_02: Alright, so let's let's let's do what we can do and then we'll go from there.
- 43:18SPEAKER_12: Does that work?
- 43:19SPEAKER_04: That works.
- 43:20SPEAKER_02: Uh I want to make sure I have the right thing here.
- 43:27SPEAKER_12: No, isn't which one of these is mixtape?
- 43:31SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 43:32SPEAKER_12: Oh, hold on.
- 43:32SPEAKER_12: You're you're the button.
- 43:33SPEAKER_12: I know, I know.
- 43:35SPEAKER_12: It's been so long.
- 43:36SPEAKER_12: Let me press this.
- 43:39SPEAKER_12: It is, it is uh uh Yeah! It's the second one.
- 43:43SPEAKER_12: Okay, I knew that.
- 43:45SPEAKER_12: I knew that.
- 43:46SPEAKER_12: Are you ready?
- 43:49SPEAKER_00: It's time for everyone's favorite part of the show.
- 43:52SPEAKER_00: With everyone's favorites O'Brien, Doug, cousin Larry, and yours truly, Miss Judge Ness.
- 44:00SPEAKER_00: It's time to play next day or Friday.
- 44:03SPEAKER_04: Oh, Miss Judgeness is AWOL right now.
- 44:05SPEAKER_02: Yes, I don't know where it's absent without leave.
- 44:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 44:09SPEAKER_02: Uh okay, so hopefully we'll hear from uh Miss Judgeness uh soon.
- 44:15SPEAKER_02: And we could do the past, but we can do the present.
- 44:18SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 44:19SPEAKER_02: Let's do the question.
- 44:20SPEAKER_02: The question for this week is storm chasing a violent F5 tornado.
- 44:28SPEAKER_02: You notice it's changed course and now fills the rear view mirror.
- 44:33SPEAKER_02: What song plays as you fly across the plains trying to escape its grasp?
- 44:41SPEAKER_02: Alright.
- 44:42SPEAKER_02: What uh what song plays according to Cousin Larry?
- 44:45SPEAKER_04: Cousin Larry! He has said this.
- 44:49SPEAKER_04: Well, at first I thought about Rocky Like a Hurricane by the Scorpions, but wrong natural disaster.
- 44:57SPEAKER_04: Riding the storm out by Arya Speedwagon also came to mind, but it's all about a winter storm.
- 45:02SPEAKER_04: Dust in the Wind by Kansas seems very appropriate, but I think I will go with an instrumental by the band The Tornadoes called Telstar.
- 45:10SPEAKER_04: Oh, good song.
- 45:12SPEAKER_04: It seems like cool music to listen to when chasing down a storm.
- 45:16SPEAKER_04: Chasing a storm.
- 45:17SPEAKER_04: And oh yeah, honorable mention to ACDC's Hell's Bells.
- 45:24SPEAKER_02: This is a great this is a like a surfing group, I should say.
- 45:30SPEAKER_04: The Ventures did this song.
- 45:32SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 45:32SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 45:34SPEAKER_02: This version is from 1962.
- 45:56SPEAKER_02: Say, but this is what you're is in your rearview mirror and you're listening to this.
- 46:00SPEAKER_04: I mean there's more songs than Wheels of Doug.
- 46:02SPEAKER_04: Of course.
- 46:03SPEAKER_04: I think he just went with the name of the band.
- 46:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 46:06SPEAKER_02: No, I love the I love the song though.
- 46:12SPEAKER_02: Alright, tornadoes, Telstar.
- 46:16SPEAKER_02: What is yours, Doug?
- 46:17SPEAKER_04: Uh I went with Running Down a Dream by uh Tom Petty.
- 46:20SPEAKER_04: Oh wow.
- 46:21SPEAKER_04: Should be really it should be running away from a dream, but I didn't write the song.
- 46:26SPEAKER_04: That's true.
- 46:28SPEAKER_04: Women in my speaker, women in the beaker.
- 46:35SPEAKER_04: Women on the wall, women with a ball.
- 46:41SPEAKER_02: Women want it all.
- 46:42SPEAKER_04: Women.
- 46:44SPEAKER_04: Women on my foot.
- 46:46SPEAKER_04: Women.
- 46:58SPEAKER_07: It was a beautiful day.
- 47:01SPEAKER_07: Sunday day.
- 47:06SPEAKER_07: I was a dream.
- 47:17SPEAKER_07: I was down dream.
- 47:31SPEAKER_02: You know, you can't really.
- 47:34SPEAKER_02: We we've done that song before with the syndicate.
- 47:36SPEAKER_02: And it I I don't think it went over very well, but you can't really do that song without that acoustic guitar.
- 47:41SPEAKER_02: No, you gotta have that.
- 47:42SPEAKER_02: You gotta have that in there.
- 47:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 47:43SPEAKER_04: I think that's why.
- 47:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think that's probably it too.
- 47:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 47:46SPEAKER_02: Um besides the fact that I couldn't play it very well.
- 47:50SPEAKER_02: Um all right, so mine is probably something that you'd expect.
- 47:57SPEAKER_04: Um I can almost tell you what it is.
- 48:00SPEAKER_02: Okay, well, hold on.
- 48:01SPEAKER_04: Don't don't I'm not going to, but yeah.
- 48:03SPEAKER_04: I want you to uh I can almost I almost I'm like 99.5%.
- 48:09SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna get it ready and you and you tell me um uh when I when I when I say I want you to I want you to tell me what uh what you think it is.
- 48:19SPEAKER_02: Okay when I'm ready.
- 48:20SPEAKER_04: Women in the window.
- 48:22SPEAKER_04: Women in the window shovel.
- 48:27SPEAKER_12: Women with uh even have it.
- 48:35SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah, okay.
- 48:36SPEAKER_02: So what do you think it is?
- 48:37SPEAKER_04: I think it's uh Van Halen humans being.
- 48:40SPEAKER_04: That's exactly I knew it, I knew it.
- 48:43SPEAKER_04: You got you kinda gave it away last week.
- 48:45SPEAKER_04: I know I did.
- 48:46SPEAKER_04: Sorry.
- 48:46SPEAKER_04: I know.
- 48:48SPEAKER_04: This is from the next one, yeah.
- 48:50SPEAKER_04: From the twister soundtrack.
- 48:51SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 48:52SPEAKER_02: So I see this is this is me in my car, and I see that the tornado is coming towards me.
- 48:57SPEAKER_02: It's gonna be in my rear view mirror in a second.
- 49:00SPEAKER_02: Actually, it's not my rear view mirror.
- 49:01SPEAKER_04: I was gonna choose this one, but I knew you were gonna choose it, so I was like, nah, I'm gonna choose something else.
- 49:08SPEAKER_02: Here it comes.
- 49:13SPEAKER_02: The song that broke up man healing.
- 49:40SPEAKER_02: So what's one thing I love about Van Hill is as dark as the verses can be, there's always a there's always a light inner wound and the chorus is always very big and melodic.
- 50:23SPEAKER_02: So yeah, that's my choice.
- 50:25SPEAKER_02: That is from the Twister soundtrack.
- 50:26SPEAKER_02: That's why I think the original Twister.
- 50:28SPEAKER_02: The original Twister, yeah, not Bill Paxton, Helen Hunt, not twisters, but twister.
- 50:33SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 50:34SPEAKER_04: Um Helen Hunt in my car.
- 50:37SPEAKER_04: Helen Hunt.
- 50:39SPEAKER_04: Stop right there.
- 50:41SPEAKER_04: Stopped at a bar.
- 50:43SPEAKER_04: Helen Hunt at my room.
- 50:47SPEAKER_04: Helen Hunt, bruh, broom.
- 50:53SPEAKER_04: You're good at that.
- 50:54SPEAKER_04: I tell you.
- 50:54SPEAKER_04: I should start a band.
- 50:55SPEAKER_04: I should.
- 50:56SPEAKER_04: I should write songs.
- 50:57SPEAKER_05: Right.
- 50:59SPEAKER_04: I can't do any worse than that one.
- 51:03SPEAKER_04: I just can't get over how bad that song is.
- 51:06SPEAKER_04: So bad.
- 51:06SPEAKER_04: So terrible.
- 51:07SPEAKER_04: It was so bad.
- 51:08SPEAKER_04: Holy crap.
- 51:09SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 51:09SPEAKER_02: I can understand.
- 51:10SPEAKER_02: You know, people said that that is not a widely received album.
- 51:14SPEAKER_02: You know, they had a couple hits, head games, head games.
- 51:17SPEAKER_02: That's a great song.
- 51:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it is.
- 51:18SPEAKER_02: And then uh what was it?
- 51:20SPEAKER_02: Dirty White Boy, Dirty Wide Boy.
- 51:21SPEAKER_04: Dirty Wide Boy.
- 51:22SPEAKER_02: But then everything else on that album must have sucked.
- 51:25SPEAKER_04: If it's anything like that one, I mean, I get it.
- 51:27SPEAKER_04: Oh, yeah.
- 51:28SPEAKER_04: They were probably just like, what were we thinking?
- 51:30SPEAKER_12: Exactly.
- 51:31SPEAKER_04: Again, I mean 40, 50 years later, what are you thinking?
- 51:36SPEAKER_04: Exactly.
- 51:37SPEAKER_04: Why are you bringing it back?
- 51:38SPEAKER_04: That's terrible.
- 51:39SPEAKER_02: Uh okay, so our choices for the present were Telstar, Cousin Larry, uh said Telstar from the Tornadoes.
- 51:47SPEAKER_02: Uh, and yours was Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers running down a dream.
- 51:52SPEAKER_02: And mine was, no surprise, Van Halen, Humans Being, from the Twister soundtrack.
- 51:59SPEAKER_02: And those are the presents.
- 52:00SPEAKER_02: Uh hopefully we will get um Mrs.
- 52:03SPEAKER_02: Judge and Mrs.
- 52:04SPEAKER_02: Judge before the end of the podcast.
- 52:06SPEAKER_02: Uh but do you have one for the future?
- 52:09SPEAKER_02: I do.
- 52:09SPEAKER_02: Alright, what is that?
- 52:10SPEAKER_04: I think we may have done it before, but I'm not 100% sure.
- 52:13SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 52:14SPEAKER_04: Uh cleaning up the party bus after a wild bachelorette party.
- 52:19SPEAKER_04: You find a mixtape stuck between the cushions, play a song from it.
- 52:27SPEAKER_02: Oh, okay.
- 52:29SPEAKER_04: Now notice it said bachelorette.
- 52:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 52:31SPEAKER_04: Not a bachelor party, a bachelorette party.
- 52:35SPEAKER_04: Bachelorette.
- 52:37SPEAKER_04: Bachelorette.
- 52:38SPEAKER_04: Women at a bachelorette party.
- 52:42SPEAKER_04: Women had an beans and parties.
- 52:48SPEAKER_04: Women who eat a la carte.
- 52:52SPEAKER_09: Forgot it was a song we were doing.

- 53:05SPEAKER_04: Oh, good lord.
- 53:08SPEAKER_04: Alright, so sometimes the jokes rate themselves.
- 53:12SPEAKER_02: Alright, so that's it for that.
- 53:14SPEAKER_02: Unless we hear from uh Miss Judges, we will make sure to get her response.
- 53:18SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 53:18SPEAKER_02: Um on the podcast before the end of the podcast.

- 54:44SPEAKER_03: We know nothing, and it shows.
- 54:47SPEAKER_03: And we're back.
- 54:48SPEAKER_03: It's time for thin.
- 54:49SPEAKER_03: O'Brien and Doug's wall of two Smash or Trash!
- 54:58SPEAKER_02: Okay, so last week's uh Smash or Trash was actually did we give the results on Sting?
- 55:06SPEAKER_02: No, we did.
- 55:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah, because we kept that.
- 55:08SPEAKER_02: Okay, so this is the pile for Smash.
- 55:10SPEAKER_02: Easy Smash Trash.
- 55:11SPEAKER_02: This is the pile for for no, this is the pile for trash.
- 55:15SPEAKER_02: This is the pile for Smash.
- 55:16SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 55:17SPEAKER_02: Okay, so this is Cher's icon album.
- 55:20SPEAKER_02: It's basically a greatest hits.
- 55:22SPEAKER_02: Um, and so let's get the votes in.
- 55:25SPEAKER_02: Uh, we'll start um with our friend, our North Carolina friend Jeff.
- 55:32SPEAKER_02: Because uh my opinion on Cher's album is gotta trash.
- 55:39SPEAKER_02: Her voice is incredible, but no reason to hold on to it.
- 55:44SPEAKER_02: Um so there's one vote for trash.
- 55:49SPEAKER_02: Um our friend Chris Morton voted, and he said um for the record, uh Did you for the record, musing in front of your wife that you definitely smash share will require a lot of subsequent explaining while running.
- 56:13SPEAKER_02: Anyway, I vote smash for the share album.
- 56:16SPEAKER_02: She really is iconic and kind of scratches a specific musical itch, I think.
- 56:20SPEAKER_02: Maybe that's just me though.
- 56:22SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 56:23SPEAKER_02: Uh bounce is two for smash.
- 56:26SPEAKER_02: Two uh no, he's he said carry on.
- 56:30SPEAKER_02: He said trash.
- 56:30SPEAKER_02: Oh, he did.
- 56:31SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 56:31SPEAKER_02: Okay, so I got one for trash, one for smash.
- 56:34SPEAKER_02: Um uh cousin Larry.
- 56:38SPEAKER_02: I vote trash this week.
- 56:40SPEAKER_02: I've never been a fan of Cher, especially her later stuff.
- 56:44SPEAKER_02: I did like the Sunny and Cher variety show, though, when I was a kid.
- 56:49SPEAKER_02: Alright, so that's two for trash, one for Smash.
- 56:53SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 56:54SPEAKER_02: Bouncing Bob.
- 56:55SPEAKER_02: Cher album.
- 56:57SPEAKER_02: Smash.
- 56:58SPEAKER_02: Because Gypsies Tramps and Fleas.
- 57:01SPEAKER_02: If I could turn back time and believe her on this album, keep it.
- 57:05SPEAKER_02: Uh okay, Doug, the historian, a question for you relating to Cher.
- 57:10SPEAKER_02: Where was her video for If I Could Turn Back Time filmed?
- 57:14SPEAKER_02: And what was the historical significance of this place?
- 57:17SPEAKER_04: That was USS Missouri.
- 57:18SPEAKER_04: What was the historical significance?
- 57:20SPEAKER_04: That's where the Japanese surrendered after World War II.
- 57:23SPEAKER_02: Good job.
- 57:25SPEAKER_02: I I I knew it was on the Missouri.
- 57:27SPEAKER_02: I didn't realize it was the historical significance.
- 57:29SPEAKER_02: But I know I knew you would know.
- 57:31SPEAKER_02: Okay, so that's that's we're tied.
- 57:34SPEAKER_02: Two votes for trash, two votes for smash.
- 57:37SPEAKER_02: Uh who else was voting?
- 57:39SPEAKER_02: That's just those two votes.
- 57:39SPEAKER_02: I was just them.
- 57:40SPEAKER_02: Just them.
- 57:41SPEAKER_02: Okay, so the judge, but she hasn't got back to the ball.
- 57:43SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 57:43SPEAKER_02: So what is your vote?
- 57:44SPEAKER_04: My vote was very close.
- 57:46SPEAKER_04: Uh-huh.
- 57:46SPEAKER_04: But I'm voting to trash.
- 57:48SPEAKER_02: You're voting to trash.
- 57:50SPEAKER_04: Because I, you know, I like these songs.
- 57:53SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 57:53SPEAKER_04: But I wouldn't buy the album.
- 57:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 57:56SPEAKER_04: That kind of thing.
- 57:57SPEAKER_02: And you know, I think I bought the album because of the nostalgia.
- 58:01SPEAKER_02: Sure.
- 58:01SPEAKER_02: You know, especially songs like this one.
- 58:03SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 58:04SPEAKER_02: Um, and I'm not I'm not gonna say I'm not a share fan, because I like this song.
- 58:10SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 58:10SPEAKER_02: And I like a lot of the stuff that she did in the late 80s.
- 58:12SPEAKER_02: I even like some of the stuff she did in the 70s and in the 90s.
- 58:16SPEAKER_02: But I'm not I I like the songs necessarily share.
- 58:20SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 58:21SPEAKER_02: Um so my vote is also trash.
- 58:24SPEAKER_02: Alright.
- 58:24SPEAKER_02: So that's four for trash.
- 58:26SPEAKER_02: So that's four for trash and two for smash.
- 58:28SPEAKER_02: And even if her judgness uh.
- 58:32SPEAKER_02: So it's trash.
- 58:33SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 58:34SPEAKER_02: So this album, you can pick up this album uh in the near future at uh KmH Music.
- 58:40SPEAKER_02: KH Music?
- 58:40SPEAKER_02: No, I don't think we've ever mentioned that uh the uh the deals that women on a boat.
- 58:46SPEAKER_12: Oh, wait, hold on.
- 58:47SPEAKER_12: Women who like to float.
- 58:49SPEAKER_02: We forgot to do this.
- 58:50SPEAKER_02: It's uh women we have we have trashed this one, right?
- 58:53SPEAKER_09: Try it!
- 58:55SPEAKER_08: Yes!
- 58:56SPEAKER_02: So Oh no.
- 59:00SPEAKER_02: We're just gonna keep going with Cher music.
- 59:02SPEAKER_02: We've trashed you! Go away! We we have trashed you, and if we have to, we'll trash you again.
- 59:07SPEAKER_09: Try!
- 59:11SPEAKER_02: I'm really gonna like this.
- 59:15SPEAKER_02: Should we give away the sound effect for if if it's a smash?
- 59:18SPEAKER_04: No, no, no, no.
- 59:19SPEAKER_04: Let's wait on it.
- 59:20SPEAKER_02: No, no, no, wait on it.
- 59:21SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 59:21SPEAKER_02: So uh Cher's icon album.
- 59:24SPEAKER_02: Try! Okay.
- 59:26SPEAKER_02: There we go.
- 59:27SPEAKER_02: So I I have three in the trash bin and one in the smash bin so far.
- 59:32SPEAKER_04: See, already we're making a difference.
- 59:34SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 59:34SPEAKER_04: I mean, that's like a whole four square inches of room you've created, right?
- 59:44SPEAKER_02: Uh I'm you know what I am gonna do, I think in the very near future, because I'll show you what I've done uh next door i in a bit.
- 59:51SPEAKER_02: It's still it's still gonna be a long time before anything happens in here.
- 59:55SPEAKER_02: But I've made a little bit of progress in the basement next door.
- 59:58SPEAKER_02: But what I said I was gonna do, I'm gonna take all the John Hyatt's, I'm gonna take, you know, all the Van Halen's and and you know the the ones that I really want to keep, and I'm gonna put them aside.
- 1:00:09SPEAKER_02: And that way the only things that we'll have to choose from were the ones that I was on the fence about.
- 1:00:14SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 1:00:14SPEAKER_02: Um that'll make it easier, I think.
- 1:00:16SPEAKER_02: Um I do need to pick one though, don't I?
- 1:00:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I do.
- 1:00:19SPEAKER_02: I do.
- 1:00:20SPEAKER_02: Okay, yeah, you do.
- 1:00:21SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna take off my headphones.
- 1:00:52SPEAKER_02: All right, are you ready?
- 1:00:52SPEAKER_02: I'm ready.
- 1:00:54SPEAKER_02: Okay, so the album that I chose the book.
- 1:01:15SPEAKER_02: Robert Palmer.
- 1:01:18SPEAKER_02: The very best of Robert Palmer.
- 1:01:25SPEAKER_02: Oh, never mind.
- 1:01:26SPEAKER_02: That's the 97 version.
- 1:01:28SPEAKER_02: I don't like the 97 version.
- 1:01:31SPEAKER_04: There we go.
- 1:01:34SPEAKER_02: Did you know Van Halen did this live in concert?
- 1:01:37SPEAKER_04: This song?
- 1:01:38SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:01:38SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 1:01:39SPEAKER_02: Just as a joke.
- 1:01:40SPEAKER_04: Oh, sure.
- 1:01:49SPEAKER_02: So this this album has not only songs like this from Robert Palmer and like this.
- 1:02:13SPEAKER_02: And this I actually really like this song.
- 1:02:18SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 1:02:19SPEAKER_04: Great song.
- 1:02:43SPEAKER_02: See, I really like this song.
- 1:02:45SPEAKER_02: Might be worth the price of admission.
- 1:02:49SPEAKER_02: It's cover.
- 1:02:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah, great song.
- 1:02:51SPEAKER_02: A couple of the songs.
- 1:02:51SPEAKER_02: Mercy, Mercy, Me and I Want You.
- 1:02:53SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:02:53SPEAKER_02: From uh Marvin Gay.
- 1:02:55SPEAKER_02: So we know that.
- 1:02:56SPEAKER_02: And then they also did uh Sly and the Faily Stone.
- 1:02:58SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah.
- 1:02:59SPEAKER_02: Every kind of people.
- 1:03:00SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 1:03:01SPEAKER_02: So it's got all those, you know, solo hits from Robert Palmer.
- 1:03:06SPEAKER_02: But it's also got Ah yeah, Power Station.
- 1:03:10SPEAKER_02: Couple of power station, too.
- 1:03:11SPEAKER_02: Which is also a cover.
- 1:03:13SPEAKER_02: Which is true.
- 1:03:44SPEAKER_02: And then the other power station tune.
- 1:04:07SPEAKER_02: So again, I think this is an another nostalgia one for me.
- 1:04:11SPEAKER_02: Because I grew up with this stuff.
- 1:04:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:04:14SPEAKER_02: Um, but it is the very best of Robert Palmer.
- 1:04:16SPEAKER_02: There are other songs on here as well.
- 1:04:20SPEAKER_02: Um So that is on the table for next week.
- 1:04:25SPEAKER_02: The very best of Robert Pal Robert Palmer.
- 1:04:28SPEAKER_02: Berber.
- 1:04:29SPEAKER_02: Robert Palmer.
- 1:04:31SPEAKER_02: Is it a smash or a Try! You tell me.
- 1:04:38SPEAKER_02: We'll tally the votes next week.
- 1:04:40SPEAKER_02: So I'll just set that right there.
- 1:04:42SPEAKER_02: Uh and I think that's it.
- 1:04:43SPEAKER_02: That is episode uh 298.
- 1:04:46SPEAKER_02: 298.
- 1:04:47SPEAKER_02: 298.
- 1:04:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:04:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:04:49SPEAKER_02: Any word from any word from Miss Judge.
- 1:04:51SPEAKER_02: Negative, sir.
- 1:04:51SPEAKER_02: So that's that's out of uh character.
- 1:04:54SPEAKER_02: She's probably busy.
- 1:04:55SPEAKER_02: I'm sure she is.
- 1:04:56SPEAKER_02: I'm sure she is.
- 1:04:58SPEAKER_02: Um I tell you what, if she sends you something, if she sends you audio, this is the magic of editing.
- 1:05:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:05:09SPEAKER_02: If she sends you some audio about her pick, send it to me.
- 1:05:18SPEAKER_02: And I will insert it right here.
- 1:05:22SPEAKER_01: Hey guys, that was an epic week of picks from Xcape.
- 1:05:25SPEAKER_01: Uh had a lot of fun listening to them.
- 1:05:27SPEAKER_01: Uh really funny, uh, because I listened to the podcast at 1.7.
- 1:05:32SPEAKER_01: Listening to uh bodies uh sped up at that speed was hilarious.
- 1:05:38SPEAKER_01: I do highly recommend listening to it at that speed.
- 1:05:40SPEAKER_01: Um, but as for my pick this week, I had to go with Larry.
- 1:05:44SPEAKER_01: Soccer for Irish music, especially dropkick Murphys.
- 1:05:50SPEAKER_04: Uh as for Smash or Trash, it was difficult.
- 1:05:53SPEAKER_04: He said he liked a lot of the songs, but if he doesn't listen to them often or seem or see himself listening to the album itself often, I have to say trash.
- 1:06:02SPEAKER_02: Uh what did you say?
- 1:06:04SPEAKER_02: Oh yeah.
- 1:06:05SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:06:06SPEAKER_04: That's the one.
- 1:06:07SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 1:06:07SPEAKER_02: Back to our regularly scheduled program.
- 1:06:11SPEAKER_04: Here.
