- 0:00Speaker 1: An illegal alien from Guatemala charged with raping a child
- 0:03Speaker 1: in Massachusetts. An MS thirteen gang member from Al Salvador
- 0:07Speaker 1: accused of murdering a Texas man of Venezuelan charged with
- 0:11Speaker 1: filming and selling child pornography in Michigan. These are just
- 0:15Speaker 1: some of the heinous migrant criminals caught because of President
- 0:19Speaker 1: Donald J. Trump's leadership. I'm Christy nom the United States
- 0:23Speaker 1: Secretary of Homeland Security. Under President Trump, attempted illegal border
- 0:28Speaker 1: crossings are at the lowest levels ever recorded, and over
- 0:31Speaker 1: one hundred thousand illegal aliens have been arrested. If you
- 0:35Speaker 1: are here illegally, your next you will be fined nearly
- 0:39Speaker 1: one thousand dollars a day, imprisoned, and deported. You will
- 0:43Speaker 1: never return. But if you register using our CBP home
- 0:46Speaker 1: app and leave now, you could be allowed to return legally.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Do what's right. Leave now. Under President Trump, America's laws,
- 0:55Speaker 1: border and families will.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Be protected sponsored by the United States Department of Homeland Security.
- 1:00Speaker 3: You as a player, knowing that at seventeen you got
- 1:03Speaker 3: that many people watching you and your brothers perform, what's
- 1:07Speaker 3: that like? Because I'm thinking about the NFL combine and
- 1:09Speaker 3: the NBA combine. These are like juniors and seniors and
- 1:12Speaker 3: some freshmen in college and they fold under pressure. What
- 1:15Speaker 3: was it like as a seventeen year old going through that.
- 1:18Speaker 4: I mean, they told us they were gonna be there,
- 1:20Speaker 4: you know when we first came, they sure, that's you know,
- 1:21Speaker 4: they're gonna be there.
- 1:22Speaker 5: So you know, we've been putting the work in.
- 1:25Speaker 4: I mean, you know, you might get a little nerves,
- 1:27Speaker 4: but you know, you know what you're here for and
- 1:29Speaker 4: where your goals are. So just being out there and
- 1:31Speaker 4: we all compete, it went hard. You know, just try
- 1:34Speaker 4: to put on the show in front of them.
- 1:38Speaker 2: My graduates from my school being forced.
- 1:42Speaker 5: Back drop b drop, Mike, drop back drop drop.
- 1:57Speaker 6: All right, guys, welcome back.
- 1:58Speaker 2: E y l.
- 1:59Speaker 6: This is a very special episode for us.
- 2:01Speaker 7: We're gonna get busy. Yeah, this is this is a
- 2:03Speaker 7: big one. So this is a home for you on
- 2:05Speaker 7: the court. Well, yeah, flashback.
- 2:08Speaker 6: If you don't know, I was a stellar basketball player.
- 2:11Speaker 3: Because they were count how many times you would say
- 2:13Speaker 3: that that episode.
- 2:14Speaker 8: And so this is one before I became a journalist,
- 2:16Speaker 8: I played basketball, So this is right up my alley.
- 2:19Speaker 6: So over time, elite.
- 2:21Speaker 8: When I first heard of this idea, I think my
- 2:23Speaker 8: man Greg Barnett might have told me about this, and
- 2:27Speaker 8: it was super interesting to me when I first heard
- 2:29Speaker 8: about it, and then we posted it on social media
- 2:33Speaker 8: a while back, and the social media thing got a lot,
- 2:34Speaker 8: a lot of traction.
- 2:35Speaker 6: So I'll explain.
- 2:37Speaker 8: It, but we're gonna have a detailed conversation, but first
- 2:38Speaker 8: let me just give some backstory. So this is a
- 2:42Speaker 8: revolutionary idea where they have a high school.
- 2:46Speaker 6: Pro league in a sense.
- 2:48Speaker 8: Where high school kids from all over the country, actually
- 2:50Speaker 8: all over the world have come to Atlanta and there's
- 2:55Speaker 8: three teams and they get I'm saying right.
- 2:59Speaker 6: Now, they get paid to play.
- 3:02Speaker 8: And where in this facility it looks like an NBA arena,
- 3:06Speaker 8: Like it's.
- 3:07Speaker 7: Super Elite is the appropriate title for.
- 3:09Speaker 8: This training facility. They got apartments, they got a school
- 3:14Speaker 8: inside the actual facility.
- 3:16Speaker 6: They got Kevin.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Alia, national championship coach of Yukon.
- 3:20Speaker 8: Yes, yes, yes, So it's a super revolutionary idea.
- 3:25Speaker 7: Oh Ryan Gomes last night two Providence Star. Yeah.
- 3:29Speaker 8: So it's it's really combining the business side of sports
- 3:34Speaker 8: with the professional side of sports, with high school education
- 3:38Speaker 8: all mixed and blended in one. So we have the
- 3:41Speaker 8: honor of speaking with Aaron Ryan, who's actually the commissioner,
- 3:45Speaker 8: and then Bryson Warren, who is one of the star players.
- 3:48Speaker 7: This is the first.
- 3:49Speaker 3: This is gonna be our first high school the pro
- 3:52Speaker 3: talent to ever touched you.
- 3:54Speaker 7: Yes, what's saying it now? Remember to pa remember the name.
- 3:57Speaker 8: Yes, speaking in to existence first and foremost gentlemen, Thank
- 4:00Speaker 8: you for joining us, appreciate.
- 4:01Speaker 2: It, Thanks for having us.
- 4:02Speaker 6: Thank you not no problem. So all right, let's get
- 4:04Speaker 6: into this.
- 4:05Speaker 8: So Bryson, all right, I just gave my Well, actually,
- 4:09Speaker 8: before I go to you, Bryson, I want to get
- 4:12Speaker 8: it from Aaron. Aaron, can we get the backstory on this?
- 4:15Speaker 8: How did this start? And how did you get involved?
- 4:18Speaker 8: Because you was actually in the NBA for twenty two years,
- 4:20Speaker 8: so you were on a professional at the highest level.
- 4:23Speaker 8: So how did you come back and get involved with
- 4:26Speaker 8: the high school again but on a professional level.
- 4:30Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 4:30Speaker 9: I mean, what's amazing about this entire journey is that
- 4:36Speaker 9: over Time Sports Media Company has been really researching this
- 4:40Speaker 9: for the last sixteen months. In fact, they held an
- 4:43Speaker 9: event about a year and a half ago in Brooklyn
- 4:46Speaker 9: called the Takeover, and they brought in fifteen of the
- 4:50Speaker 9: best boys and girls in elite basketball. And they not
- 4:54Speaker 9: only brought in these young people, but they brought their
- 4:56Speaker 9: families in and they had this amazing event over one
- 4:59Speaker 9: hundred and twenty million in video views, an incredible celebration
- 5:02Speaker 9: of the game at dunk content contests, three point shootout.
- 5:06Speaker 9: But they spent a lot of time with these families
- 5:08Speaker 9: in New York and they ask them questions about what
- 5:10Speaker 9: are the challenges of elite basketball, of being a parent,
- 5:14Speaker 9: of being in a support network, but.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Even for the athletes themselves.
- 5:17Speaker 9: And three things came out of that discovery, and they
- 5:20Speaker 9: actually went into researching those which is equal access to
- 5:24Speaker 9: the best skilled development in this country is.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Not there.
- 5:30Speaker 9: In fact, you find that eighty to eighty five percent
- 5:33Speaker 9: of the best players in this country end up transferring
- 5:36Speaker 9: high schools by their sophomore year just to find the
- 5:38Speaker 9: right coaches, the right skills, the right development opportunity. The
- 5:42Speaker 9: second thing is once you start moving around like that,
- 5:45Speaker 9: your education is disrupted, your home life is disrupted because
- 5:49Speaker 9: you're probably moving away from home. And so the notion
- 5:51Speaker 9: that there was a need for customized education was also something.
- 5:55Speaker 9: I mean, you think about prodigies and other aspects of sports,
- 5:59Speaker 9: and art. Whether you're a violinist, whether you're a tennis player,
- 6:02Speaker 9: whether you're a golfer, you get customized. In fact, you
- 6:04Speaker 9: usually get homeschooled, so customize academics. And then the third
- 6:08Speaker 9: thing is economic empowerment. These young people have value today
- 6:13Speaker 9: and what a lot of adults and a lot of
- 6:14Speaker 9: institutions will tell them is you'll get your turn to
- 6:17Speaker 9: monetize this, but you have to wait. You have to
- 6:19Speaker 9: wait till we get ours. And so we heard that
- 6:22Speaker 9: loud and clear. And so what was inspiring for me
- 6:25Speaker 9: coming from the NBA is we were in this conversation
- 6:28Speaker 9: fifteen years ago at the league. We were sitting around
- 6:30Speaker 9: table with the NCAA, the NBA, the sneaker companies, like
- 6:34Speaker 9: what can we do to better shepherd the next generation
- 6:37Speaker 9: athlete to be prepared for the NBA and the adversity.
- 6:40Speaker 9: And so for me, joining this was like I was
- 6:42Speaker 9: hearing something that I had already been talking about.
- 6:44Speaker 2: What the realities.
- 6:45Speaker 9: I had found an organization that had the courage and
- 6:48Speaker 9: the capital and the audience to really take this on.
- 6:52Speaker 8: So all right, this is something that's extremely interesting. Was
- 6:55Speaker 8: for years, people have been criticized in NCUBA or making
- 7:01Speaker 8: billions of dollars from athletes, but the athletes never got
- 7:03Speaker 8: any money.
- 7:04Speaker 7: This is an ongoing thing for a long time.
- 7:06Speaker 6: Now.
- 7:07Speaker 8: Athletes actually are able to get paid, but you guys
- 7:11Speaker 8: are actually skipping the whole process of college by paying
- 7:15Speaker 8: athletes while they're in high school.
- 7:17Speaker 6: Right, So let's get into this.
- 7:18Speaker 8: So, yeah, they get paid, They get paid, right, And
- 7:22Speaker 8: I guess the minimum is one hundred thousand dollars, that's correct.
- 7:25Speaker 6: What's the maximum?
- 7:26Speaker 9: Well, listen, there's a varying sort of salary structure in
- 7:31Speaker 9: what we do. But what's important to realize is we're
- 7:33Speaker 9: not just talking about direct salary. We're talking about the
- 7:36Speaker 9: entire compensation package. First, let's just talk about expensibatement. Right,
- 7:40Speaker 9: we pay for everything. Rison doesn't pay for his food,
- 7:44Speaker 9: his lodging, his transportation, anything. And in fact, beyond that,
- 7:48Speaker 9: not only does he get a salary, but he gets
- 7:50Speaker 9: performance bonuses around participation and being great partners with us.
- 7:54Speaker 9: He also has opportunities beyond that, so we share in revenue.
- 7:58Speaker 9: Examples being Rison has a trading card that he's participating in,
- 8:03Speaker 9: and he gets royalties on his jersey. If we do
- 8:06Speaker 9: a video game deal, he gets access to that revenue
- 8:09Speaker 9: as well. He also has the opportunity in a number
- 8:12Speaker 9: of categories to monetize independent of us. And so what
- 8:16Speaker 9: we're talking about is an entire package that also includes equity.
- 8:21Speaker 9: And Bryce and I just had a conversation about this yesterday.
- 8:23Speaker 9: In fact, all twenty six of the guys who were
- 8:26Speaker 9: here yesterday we sat around a room and talked about
- 8:28Speaker 9: our partnership. I said to them, you know, I've been
- 8:31Speaker 9: in this industry for I've been in this industry for
- 8:34Speaker 9: twenty four years actually, and never have I received equity
- 8:38Speaker 9: from any of the organizations that I've.
- 8:40Speaker 2: Worked for until now.
- 8:41Speaker 9: So I waited twenty four years to get a piece
- 8:45Speaker 9: of a company. And Bryson's been at this for about
- 8:48Speaker 9: four and a half months and he's already getting a piece.
- 8:49Speaker 2: So I wanted them to understand the power partnership.
- 8:52Speaker 3: That's amazing, right, because when I was reasing the business model,
- 8:55Speaker 3: I want to talk about the player performance. So based
- 8:57Speaker 3: on how they play, they can actually receiveesses based on
- 9:01Speaker 3: their performance.
- 9:01Speaker 7: Number one and number two.
- 9:03Speaker 3: You have twenty four to thirty guys, and I said
- 9:06Speaker 3: twenty six, Now, what's the selection process to getting the
- 9:10Speaker 3: athletes here. I mean, there's plenty of talented kids throughout
- 9:13Speaker 3: the country. How do we hone in on these are
- 9:16Speaker 3: the twenty four or the thirty that we want.
- 9:17Speaker 9: Well, let's start with your first With your first question,
- 9:20Speaker 9: which was around performance. The way we define performance is
- 9:22Speaker 9: performance as partners in the entire business. It's about showing up.
- 9:26Speaker 9: It's about building elite habits. It's about being here for
- 9:31Speaker 9: your teammates, being here for our organization, being a part
- 9:33Speaker 9: of our overtime elite community each and every single day.
- 9:37Speaker 2: And it's the same thing.
- 9:39Speaker 9: He's an employee, So it's about expectations for all of us.
- 9:43Speaker 9: They have expectations on me, our investors have expectations of
- 9:47Speaker 9: us holistically, and so his performance bonus is based on
- 9:51Speaker 9: total performance, not just necessarily what's on the cart.
- 9:54Speaker 8: So like coming to class on time, is grades a
- 9:57Speaker 8: part of it as well.
- 9:58Speaker 9: You know, we have a customer education here, which is
- 10:02Speaker 9: something like that. I mean, the reality of is we
- 10:05Speaker 9: assess each and every athlete to see where they're at.
- 10:08Speaker 9: And our learning facilitators and we call them learning facilitators
- 10:11Speaker 9: versus teachers for a reason. They facilitate learning. In fact,
- 10:14Speaker 9: Bryson and his teammates are a part of the process.
- 10:17Speaker 2: But what it's not.
- 10:18Speaker 9: It's self paced learning, which is we will ensure through
- 10:21Speaker 9: this program that not only will you leave here with
- 10:24Speaker 9: a high school diploma, but we will teach you around
- 10:28Speaker 9: about life skills that actually are going to prepare you
- 10:30Speaker 9: for your trade, which is becoming a pro basketball player.
- 10:33Speaker 9: So things like financial literacy, things like public speaking, things
- 10:37Speaker 9: like social media etiquette, and strategy.
- 10:39Speaker 2: The business of basketball.
- 10:40Speaker 9: What goes into turning a game, a fun hobby into
- 10:45Speaker 9: a business.
- 10:46Speaker 3: That's interesting because before we started, I asked Bryson, I said,
- 10:48Speaker 3: is this your first interview?
- 10:50Speaker 7: And he was like, nah, So I want to get
- 10:52Speaker 7: to you.
- 10:52Speaker 3: What has this experience been like with this customized education
- 10:55Speaker 3: Because I come from education and it was like English, math, Science,
- 11:00Speaker 3: social studies, FISAD. You have to do that and then
- 11:02Speaker 3: you get an elective, but you're learning life skills and
- 11:05Speaker 3: you learn the financial literacy. What has it been like
- 11:07Speaker 3: for you as a student.
- 11:08Speaker 5: Yeah, it's been great.
- 11:09Speaker 4: It's definitely different, which I like because it's more towards like,
- 11:12Speaker 4: you know, life, you know, with basketball, you know life
- 11:15Speaker 4: after like like English, you know, we're talking about speeches,
- 11:18Speaker 4: how to give speeches. You know what to do with
- 11:21Speaker 4: words to say, but words not to say. And like
- 11:23Speaker 4: even in nutritional science, we're talking about what type of
- 11:26Speaker 4: foods we could get. You know, we want to gain weight,
- 11:28Speaker 4: and may we want to lose weight. So everything you
- 11:29Speaker 4: know is geared towards basketball and just life.
- 11:33Speaker 6: So right, so let me ask you this.
- 11:34Speaker 8: Coming out of Arkansas, I believe you was the player
- 11:37Speaker 8: of the year as a sophomore, right, first first ever
- 11:39Speaker 8: to do that, that's her Just so obviously you know
- 11:42Speaker 8: you have a right, you have a right.
- 11:43Speaker 6: Future ahead of you.
- 11:44Speaker 8: But by coming here, you're giving up your college eligibility,
- 11:49Speaker 8: right did you your parents? Was that something that kind
- 11:53Speaker 8: of worried you? Were you scared about that?
- 11:56Speaker 4: No, me and my dad, ever since about seventh grade,
- 12:00Speaker 4: we've always said, you want to go straight to the league.
- 12:02Speaker 5: We didn't want to go to college.
- 12:04Speaker 4: So with this popping up, it was like a blessing,
- 12:06Speaker 4: like this is what we were looking for and now
- 12:08Speaker 4: just here, I'm just blessed to be a part of
- 12:10Speaker 4: this and you know, keep my dreams and keep working
- 12:13Speaker 4: and go to the league.
- 12:14Speaker 5: So now I was never nervous. I was just you know, happy.
- 12:17Speaker 3: So your minimum salary is one hundred thousand. I'm be
- 12:20Speaker 3: honest with you, it took me ten years of teaching
- 12:23Speaker 3: to one hundred thousand. So how attended? If are you
- 12:26Speaker 3: inside of these financial literacy classes? What are you learning
- 12:29Speaker 3: about now that you've had this salary that most Americans
- 12:32Speaker 3: don't make, especially in education.
- 12:34Speaker 7: But you're here now, So what is that like inside
- 12:36Speaker 7: of those classes?
- 12:37Speaker 4: Well, we've been with North Rock a lot, so they've
- 12:41Speaker 4: just been telling us the fundamentals of you know, of
- 12:44Speaker 4: money and right now just working on building our circle,
- 12:47Speaker 4: keeping the circle small, just you know who you you know,
- 12:50Speaker 4: choosing in your circle. Like for me, I've already been
- 12:53Speaker 4: doing that. So like I'm big on giving back. So
- 12:56Speaker 4: you know, me and my circle, I've actually got an
- 12:59Speaker 4: AAU team now Brice and United back in Arkansas.
- 13:01Speaker 5: Just get you back to.
- 13:02Speaker 4: Them, back to them so you know, just helping them.
- 13:06Speaker 4: That's me and my circle. You know, that's how we
- 13:07Speaker 4: wanted to do. So, yeah, that's that's a big Aaron.
- 13:11Speaker 4: You had mentioned they have they have equity. Can you
- 13:14Speaker 4: explain that? Like how what kind of equity stake do
- 13:16Speaker 4: they have? Like can you get some details on that?
- 13:19Speaker 9: Well, I can tell you that every employee at Overtime
- 13:23Speaker 9: has has equity in the company, and just like a
- 13:26Speaker 9: lot of companies, they want us all vested in you
- 13:29Speaker 9: in the future of the company. And so why does
- 13:32Speaker 9: that have to stop at just the adults who operate
- 13:35Speaker 9: the business. It should be included that these young men
- 13:38Speaker 9: are part of that.
- 13:40Speaker 8: So if this company goes public or something like that,
- 13:44Speaker 8: they'll be early equity shareholders.
- 13:47Speaker 2: And yeah, well we'll we'll we'll all see the benefits
- 13:49Speaker 2: of it.
- 13:50Speaker 9: And that's why that's why we're so that's why we're
- 13:52Speaker 9: so passionate about building it the right way.
- 13:54Speaker 6: How do you feel about that, Brycon.
- 13:56Speaker 4: That's good men, Me and my teammates, my brothers, we
- 13:58Speaker 4: all know that everything we do, you know, where like
- 14:01Speaker 4: we're share hull, is in the company. So you know,
- 14:03Speaker 4: we always gotta be positive, you know, keep a clean
- 14:05Speaker 4: image because we know whatever we do is affecting the company.
- 14:08Speaker 4: So you know, we're always we're always un notice I.
- 14:11Speaker 9: Mean, can we just stop right here, right We've talked
- 14:14Speaker 9: about circles, We've talked.
- 14:15Speaker 2: About giving back.
- 14:16Speaker 9: The young man has his own team and he understands partnership,
- 14:20Speaker 9: and so even this interview is a part of the
- 14:24Speaker 9: learning experience everything we do. I mean, Bryson joined me
- 14:27Speaker 9: for a partnership pitch this week as well, some of
- 14:30Speaker 9: his other some of his other teammates did as well.
- 14:32Speaker 9: And so every moment is a teaching moment at Overtime
- 14:35Speaker 9: Elite and that's that's what that's what, that's what really
- 14:38Speaker 9: gets me up every morning and really inspired by what
- 14:40Speaker 9: we do, what we're doing.
- 14:41Speaker 8: So all right, So it started with an eighty million
- 14:44Speaker 8: dollar I think investment from a variety of different investors,
- 14:48Speaker 8: some well known investors Drake Jeff Bezos, I heard of him,
- 14:52Speaker 8: and I believe like twenty four NBA players, right, Carmelo, Anthony.
- 14:56Speaker 3: Darren Fox, Trey Young, Trey Young, Palgosol Internationals.
- 15:00Speaker 8: So all right, when overtime and if wayd anybody that
- 15:04Speaker 8: is not familiar with overtime, Overtime is a platform, a
- 15:08Speaker 8: sports platform, right.
- 15:10Speaker 9: Yeah, it's it's the next generation sports media company. This
- 15:12Speaker 9: is about building community between the next generation's athlete, creator
- 15:19Speaker 9: and fan and it's a conversation.
- 15:22Speaker 2: We call it a community for a reason because it
- 15:24Speaker 2: is not all outbound.
- 15:25Speaker 9: In fact, we know our first our first weekend, we
- 15:27Speaker 9: had twenty four million views on on Bryson's first game.
- 15:31Speaker 9: In fact, he hit a game winner in overtime and
- 15:35Speaker 9: we had eight point eight million engagements.
- 15:39Speaker 2: That is a conversation, shares comments, dms.
- 15:44Speaker 9: We have an engaged community and that's and that's what's
- 15:46Speaker 9: driving a lot of that is the foundation of what
- 15:48Speaker 9: we're doing here.
- 15:48Speaker 8: So all right, so obviously they're all very smart investors,
- 15:53Speaker 8: but they're not investing like it's not charity. They're looking
- 15:55Speaker 8: to make in return on investment. So when I'm looking
- 15:57Speaker 8: at this, I'm looking at there's a lot of overhead.
- 16:00Speaker 8: This is, you know, an operation that I know costs
- 16:02Speaker 8: a lot of money to run.
- 16:04Speaker 6: What is the revenue model here?
- 16:06Speaker 9: Yeah, So one of the one of the things that's
- 16:09Speaker 9: that's interesting for me is I've been a part of
- 16:12Speaker 9: four startup leagues, the WNBA, the d League which is
- 16:16Speaker 9: now the G League, I helped launch the NBA two
- 16:19Speaker 9: K League, and now Overtime Elite.
- 16:22Speaker 2: And in every case what we.
- 16:24Speaker 9: Found ourselves doing is starting as a truly nascent property.
- 16:28Speaker 9: We're talking about effectively zero fans to start with, certainly
- 16:32Speaker 9: the opportunity for crossover.
- 16:33Speaker 2: But no sort of core fans to the core product.
- 16:37Speaker 9: We start here with a foundation of fifty four million
- 16:40Speaker 9: followers one point seven billion video views every month.
- 16:44Speaker 2: We are global.
- 16:45Speaker 9: We have some of the biggest accounts in Europe, in India, Africa,
- 16:50Speaker 9: and obviously throughout the States. And so what allows us
- 16:54Speaker 9: and allows our investors to see the future of this
- 16:56Speaker 9: is we start with our own distribution, in our own audience.
- 17:00Speaker 9: We don't necessarily today have to go out and buy
- 17:04Speaker 9: or partner to reach our core. What we do have
- 17:07Speaker 9: to do is find ways to grow our casual and
- 17:09Speaker 9: our curious fans.
- 17:12Speaker 2: But we run We run the same plays.
- 17:13Speaker 9: That a lot of sports properties do, talking about sponsorship,
- 17:16Speaker 9: finding great partners like Gatorade and State Farm and some
- 17:19Speaker 9: others to come who are committed to us for multiple
- 17:22Speaker 9: years as we build this out, and then foundation foundational
- 17:25Speaker 9: to what we do.
- 17:26Speaker 2: The second thing is licensing.
- 17:27Speaker 9: We have a we have a robust and growing apparel business.
- 17:32Speaker 9: You wear the hoodie I have on, or the hoodie
- 17:34Speaker 9: has on in any airport in America, and at some
- 17:36Speaker 9: point some youngsters is gonna come up and I need
- 17:40Speaker 9: that one.
- 17:40Speaker 7: I heard that. I heard that last night.
- 17:42Speaker 3: You got to throw up your oh, and so one
- 17:43Speaker 3: of the other things I heard last night and you
- 17:45Speaker 3: referenced earlier, was that the licensing part and the likeness
- 17:48Speaker 3: and so their jerseys are sold right here after the game.
- 17:51Speaker 7: How does how does that work?
- 17:52Speaker 3: It is there a certain number of inventory that you
- 17:55Speaker 3: have for each one? And how's that? What's the process
- 17:57Speaker 3: of that? Yeah, so that's unique.
- 17:59Speaker 9: We we have we have an operation, a retail operation,
- 18:02Speaker 9: digital digital operation that's currently online.
- 18:05Speaker 2: You can you can shop.
- 18:06Speaker 9: You can shop at overtime at overtime dot com now
- 18:09Speaker 9: and get you get your hoodie, especially get this this
- 18:12Speaker 9: nice little heat check that he's.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Got on check. You know, you can also buy his
- 18:17Speaker 2: jersey at the same place.
- 18:18Speaker 9: And so we have all twenty seven jerseys on sale
- 18:21Speaker 9: now between now and middle of December.
- 18:25Speaker 2: It's our first it's our first time ever doing that.
- 18:27Speaker 9: It's made to order, and we're prepared with the inventory
- 18:31Speaker 9: and we're gonna continue.
- 18:32Speaker 2: To build that out.
- 18:33Speaker 9: In fact, they're going to be a part of some
- 18:34Speaker 9: amazing collaborations later on this year that I'm definitely gonna
- 18:37Speaker 9: wanna want to want to want to want to get
- 18:39Speaker 9: you guys on a on a list, So I get
- 18:41Speaker 9: that early.
- 18:41Speaker 3: I got to go fill in the Warren Jersey. You
- 18:43Speaker 3: may sell out after this episode.
- 18:48Speaker 8: You know, it's so crazy because I was telling Aaron,
- 18:51Speaker 8: you know, I went to a school called IMG Academy.
- 18:54Speaker 8: And for the average person that's hearing this, they might
- 18:58Speaker 8: think that this is a crazy idea to go. But
- 19:01Speaker 8: IMG it was based around sports and then the education
- 19:04Speaker 8: was kind of like built around the sports.
- 19:07Speaker 6: And I loved it and.
- 19:09Speaker 8: It really really like changed my life because I've had
- 19:12Speaker 8: an opportunity to not only like connect with professional athletes
- 19:15Speaker 8: because a lot of pros came down in the train,
- 19:17Speaker 8: but to do something that I really loved. But then,
- 19:19Speaker 8: like you said, like the nutrition and have like a
- 19:21Speaker 8: personal chef, and it's just a whole different way to
- 19:26Speaker 8: actually like go to school. So how has this transition
- 19:30Speaker 8: been for you to go from a regular school your
- 19:33Speaker 8: whole entire life and now go into a training facility
- 19:38Speaker 8: with a school that's like built around it.
- 19:40Speaker 6: Like, how has that been?
- 19:42Speaker 4: Yeah, it's definitely been different. But you know, I think
- 19:44Speaker 4: they gear more for you. You know, like you said,
- 19:47Speaker 4: basketball in school, you know, they go together and you'll
- 19:51Speaker 4: have either basketball school first for a certain amount of time,
- 19:55Speaker 4: and then you'll just do one another with extra workouts,
- 19:58Speaker 4: So just been getting the twenty four to seven you know,
- 20:02Speaker 4: with the school of being in the gym that's always
- 20:04Speaker 4: you know good and just being able to work with
- 20:08Speaker 4: some of the time learning facilitators you know all throughout
- 20:10Speaker 4: the year and the top coaches and trainers is just
- 20:13Speaker 4: you know, a good thing for all of us.
- 20:14Speaker 2: This episode is sponsored by EET Clutch Academy. Question who

- 21:11Speaker 3: things Clutch Academy, visit beet dot com.
- 21:15Speaker 7: Yeah you are.
- 21:16Speaker 3: So you went from being the player of the year
- 21:18Speaker 3: in Arkansas the man, right, and now you've joined twenty
- 21:22Speaker 3: five other twenty six other guys who are the man
- 21:24Speaker 3: where they're from. So what's that like, right? Because in
- 21:27Speaker 3: college it's kind of a similar situation. Everybody is the
- 21:29Speaker 3: player of the year where they're from, and then they
- 21:31Speaker 3: meet in college and then somebody is going to be
- 21:33Speaker 3: the start. So what is it like now with knowing
- 21:35Speaker 3: that everybody here the purpose is to be here to
- 21:38Speaker 3: make it to the pros?
- 21:39Speaker 7: What's it like the competition?
- 21:40Speaker 4: Like, I mean, you know, we all got our dreams
- 21:42Speaker 4: are going to the pros, and I think that that
- 21:44Speaker 4: just what makes us better. I mean practice, you know,
- 21:47Speaker 4: like I said, we're alder Man.
- 21:48Speaker 7: So you must be killing people practice.
- 21:52Speaker 4: You know, that's fun. You know we're going at each other.
- 21:54Speaker 4: You know, sometime it gets a little you know, reality,
- 21:56Speaker 4: but you know, at the end of the day, we
- 21:57Speaker 4: know you're brothers. So just doing that we know in
- 21:59Speaker 4: the game is just not gonna be as hard as
- 22:00Speaker 4: practice's gonna be easier. But we know we go hard
- 22:02Speaker 4: in practice. How Coach Ali says, level A VIV hundred
- 22:05Speaker 4: twenty percent.
- 22:05Speaker 5: That's what we do every day.
- 22:07Speaker 8: So Aaron, let me ask you. Is it twenty seven
- 22:10Speaker 8: kids total? It's twenty seven, so twenty seven young men.
- 22:12Speaker 8: So this is the question that everybody's gonna have, all right,
- 22:16Speaker 8: out of twenty seven, everybody has aspirations of making it
- 22:19Speaker 8: to the NBA, but.
- 22:22Speaker 6: They're all not gonna make it to the NBA.
- 22:23Speaker 8: Right, So all right, the people that don't make it
- 22:27Speaker 8: to the NBA, there is a college fund set up
- 22:31Speaker 8: for them, right, So can you talk about that for it,
- 22:34Speaker 8: because like, I know that's gonna be something like, well,
- 22:36Speaker 8: what about the kids that don't make it to the
- 22:38Speaker 8: NBA that da da da.
- 22:40Speaker 9: We have to start with how we define success here, right,
- 22:44Speaker 9: Success is about getting you prepared two through and beyond basketball.
- 22:51Speaker 9: And what success might look like for some athletes in
- 22:54Speaker 9: this program is exactly what their dreams have mapped out,
- 22:57Speaker 9: which is walking across that stage. Shake in the commission
- 23:00Speaker 9: of the NBA's hand and start and really getting past
- 23:03Speaker 9: the starting line of a career.
- 23:05Speaker 2: In the NBA.
- 23:06Speaker 9: Others might find their way overseas, and there's still professional
- 23:10Speaker 9: basketball players that make multiple millions of dollars in other
- 23:14Speaker 9: parts of the world.
- 23:15Speaker 2: There also might.
- 23:16Speaker 9: Be a young man or many young men who find
- 23:19Speaker 9: that they have a passion for the game but want
- 23:21Speaker 9: to redirect it in a way that doesn't necessarily include
- 23:24Speaker 9: being on the court as much as it is surrounding
- 23:26Speaker 9: the game or surrounding another passion of theirs.
- 23:29Speaker 2: And that's where we're here.
- 23:31Speaker 9: And prepare because young I don't just like all of
- 23:34Speaker 9: us like we've changed over time and we've matured, and
- 23:37Speaker 9: even our goals have evolved.
- 23:39Speaker 2: And so if someone's goals evolve to want to.
- 23:42Speaker 9: Go back to college as opposed to be becoming a
- 23:45Speaker 9: professional basketball player, we're here to support it with one
- 23:47Speaker 9: hundred thousand dollars in academic scholarship to go to any school,
- 23:52Speaker 9: any school you want, in any school you can get into,
- 23:54Speaker 9: and so we'll be here to support that. The other
- 23:56Speaker 9: thing is is, you know, Dan Porter, one of our founders,
- 23:59Speaker 9: was talking to Kevin Durant actually early days of this concept,
- 24:03Speaker 9: and he was talking about the academic scholarship concept and
- 24:08Speaker 9: the fun and and Katie just asked a very simple question,
- 24:12Speaker 9: what if they don't want to go to college?
- 24:14Speaker 2: And Dan's like, you're absolutely right.
- 24:16Speaker 9: We have we have over one hundred investors in some
- 24:19Speaker 9: of the most amazing industries and companies in the world,
- 24:24Speaker 9: and they are they are invested not only in this,
- 24:27Speaker 9: in this financially, but they're they're also making their resource available.
- 24:31Speaker 9: And so if a young man wants to go work
- 24:34Speaker 9: in the music industry, we've got a couple of people
- 24:35Speaker 9: who've done that before. If you want to get into
- 24:37Speaker 9: you know, venture capital or real estate or or technology,
- 24:43Speaker 9: we have we have folks all throughout our board that
- 24:45Speaker 9: obviously can help us. And so what we're here to
- 24:47Speaker 9: do is support not only the realization of your of
- 24:52Speaker 9: your perfect dream, but also you're.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Imperfect dream, right.
- 24:57Speaker 9: And and so that was the conversation that we had
- 24:59Speaker 9: with families, eyes wide open. Here are the here are
- 25:02Speaker 9: the decisions you're making, and here are the opportunities that
- 25:05Speaker 9: we are prepared to support, not only the ones that
- 25:08Speaker 9: are perfectly aligned with going to the NBA and crossing
- 25:11Speaker 9: that stage, but also those that those that don't and
- 25:14Speaker 9: so we have opened up, we have we have open
- 25:16Speaker 9: and honest conversations about that.
- 25:17Speaker 3: One of the things that overtime has done is it's
- 25:20Speaker 3: given us eyes to young talent at a very early
- 25:22Speaker 3: stages by providing highlights or clips of them. A couple
- 25:26Speaker 3: of years ago, we saw Zion Williamson twist his ankle
- 25:29Speaker 3: at a duke game, fell out the shoe right, and
- 25:31Speaker 3: everybody was like, oh my gosh, his career could be
- 25:34Speaker 3: over right, what shoe was that?
- 25:36Speaker 7: It was a big scandal. They thought he was injured.
- 25:39Speaker 3: And so I'm asking this question now because I'm thinking
- 25:42Speaker 3: about what if these guys at some point get injured.
- 25:44Speaker 3: Is there some type of financial protection or assurance in
- 25:47Speaker 3: the event of injury for them?
- 25:48Speaker 9: Yes, and and and that's again that was a part
- 25:51Speaker 9: of the eyes wide, open conversation with every family, which is,
- 25:54Speaker 9: let's talk about what we all hope will happen, but
- 25:58Speaker 9: let's also discuss the things that can happen to us.
- 26:01Speaker 2: Right, and so we do we have We have.
- 26:04Speaker 9: Insurance, disability insurance that would cover that in a way
- 26:07Speaker 9: that no other high school in America, in fact, even
- 26:09Speaker 9: colleges would address nor cover. And so we are prepared
- 26:14Speaker 9: for a number of outcomes here obviously wanting to stay
- 26:17Speaker 9: focused on the ones that we believe they're poised to
- 26:21Speaker 9: to realize. And so yeah, that's that's that's what success
- 26:24Speaker 9: and preparation and and support looks like for us.
- 26:28Speaker 8: So as far as the actual basketball competition, who's on
- 26:34Speaker 8: the calendar? Like, who do you actually play? Because I'm
- 26:37Speaker 8: assuming you're not allowed to play high schools?
- 26:38Speaker 6: Right we are?
- 26:40Speaker 9: You are?
- 26:40Speaker 2: Are? It's you know, there's a lot.
- 26:43Speaker 9: If there's one NCAA for college, there's fifty n c
- 26:46Speaker 9: a as for high school so you have to navigate
- 26:49Speaker 9: the map with those who are are open to it.
- 26:52Speaker 9: There's also obviously different prep schools throughout the country, and
- 26:55Speaker 9: so we have a we have a pretty robust schedule
- 26:58Speaker 9: between the twenty ninth of October through middle of March
- 27:02Speaker 9: in factors, thirty seven games that will play, and it's
- 27:06Speaker 9: a combination of three different formats of basketball or competition.
- 27:11Speaker 9: We'll play in prep series where we'll either bring in
- 27:14Speaker 9: three prep schools to play against our three teams, we'll
- 27:17Speaker 9: play on the road and the same thing, or we'll
- 27:20Speaker 9: play what we call league play, which is Brison's team
- 27:23Speaker 9: versus the two other teams in a night. So we'll
- 27:25Speaker 9: play a twenty minute game with two of them, a
- 27:29Speaker 9: twenty minute game with the other with another combination of them,
- 27:33Speaker 9: just to make sure they all three play each other
- 27:35Speaker 9: in a given night.
- 27:36Speaker 2: So that's called league play.
- 27:38Speaker 9: Then the other thing, which you witnessed last night here
- 27:42Speaker 9: at ote with something we call pro simulation or pro
- 27:46Speaker 9: sim and that is us playing with NBA or pro
- 27:51Speaker 9: rules to prepare them. And so when you look on
- 27:53Speaker 9: our court, you'll see an orange three point line, you'll
- 27:55Speaker 9: see a black three point line. Last night we played
- 27:57Speaker 9: twenty four second shot clock and we played with the
- 27:59Speaker 9: black line, which is the three point line in the NBA.
- 28:02Speaker 8: Oh I was, I was wondering, Okay, So all right,
- 28:04Speaker 8: because I'm like, this is a long game because it
- 28:06Speaker 8: was twelve minute quarters and you had three refs.
- 28:10Speaker 6: Okay, So that you don't do that every single game.
- 28:12Speaker 9: No.
- 28:12Speaker 2: In fact, we play all three different formats throughout the season.
- 28:16Speaker 8: Okay, So the twenty minutes, like after the college type
- 28:19Speaker 8: vibe the three point line.
- 28:22Speaker 9: So the other other thing is is that that is
- 28:25Speaker 9: designed to allow for pro scouts to be able to
- 28:29Speaker 9: see these young men and their path towards really being
- 28:33Speaker 9: prepared for the next level. And so a couple of
- 28:35Speaker 9: things we do. One is we do pro sim games.
- 28:37Speaker 9: The other thing we do is we open up practices.
- 28:39Speaker 9: In fact, we've had our first of what will be
- 28:43Speaker 9: many pro days, and we had our pro day a
- 28:46Speaker 9: couple of weeks back, and so it was basically an
- 28:49Speaker 9: invitation for all pro scouts, NBA and otherwise to come
- 28:52Speaker 9: in and see these young men for the first time,
- 28:55Speaker 9: see them train, see them play, see sort of the
- 28:59Speaker 9: the habits that we're trying to form. We had sixty
- 29:02Speaker 9: scouts here, Twenty nine to thirty NBA teams were in
- 29:05Speaker 9: the building.
- 29:06Speaker 7: So I mean that sounds pretty intimidating.
- 29:08Speaker 3: But for you as a player, knowing that at seventeen,
- 29:12Speaker 3: you got that many people watching you and your brothers perform.
- 29:16Speaker 7: What's that like?
- 29:16Speaker 3: Because I'm thinking about the NFL combine and the NBA combine.
- 29:20Speaker 3: These are like juniors and seniors and some freshmen in
- 29:22Speaker 3: college and they fold under pressure.
- 29:24Speaker 7: What was it like as a seventeen year old going
- 29:26Speaker 7: through that.
- 29:27Speaker 4: I mean, they told us they were going to be there,
- 29:29Speaker 4: you know, when we first came, they said, that's you know,
- 29:31Speaker 4: they're going to be there, so you know, we've been
- 29:33Speaker 4: putting the work in. I mean, you know, you might
- 29:35Speaker 4: get a little nerves, but you know, you know what
- 29:37Speaker 4: you're here for and where your goals are. So just
- 29:40Speaker 4: being out there and we all compete, it went hard.
- 29:42Speaker 4: You know, just try to put on the show in
- 29:44Speaker 4: front of them.
- 29:46Speaker 6: Yeah, I remember.
- 29:48Speaker 8: So before I went to IMG Academy, briefly, I went
- 29:51Speaker 8: to this other school called Winchington Academy in New England
- 29:54Speaker 8: and that was one of the top prep schools in
- 29:56Speaker 8: the country at the time. And we had a at
- 30:00Speaker 8: NBA Prospects. So Rick Patino came and that was like
- 30:03Speaker 8: a big deal to have Rick Patino there as a practice.
- 30:06Speaker 8: And then we had one NBA scout came because we
- 30:09Speaker 8: had a kid from Australia. So I remember when the
- 30:11Speaker 8: NBA scout came. It was like every white was like, Yo,
- 30:14Speaker 8: the NBA's here right now, Like it was going.
- 30:15Speaker 7: Crazy, sock iron in your socks.
- 30:17Speaker 8: I have to say, to have twenty nine NBA scouts,
- 30:21Speaker 8: that's like crazy, Like you know what I mean, Like,
- 30:24Speaker 8: how Aaron have you had pushed back from the NC
- 30:27Speaker 8: double A on this Do you think the NC DOUBLEA
- 30:29Speaker 8: feels threatened by this.
- 30:30Speaker 2: No, in fact, I'm certain of it.
- 30:33Speaker 9: It's it's funny because when we first launched, everybody thought
- 30:36Speaker 9: that this was some sort of strategic pursuit which was.
- 30:41Speaker 2: To compete with the NCAA.
- 30:43Speaker 9: The reality is there's thousands upon thousands of Division one
- 30:46Speaker 9: and Division two basketball players who've made the choice to
- 30:50Speaker 9: go to college and that experience that I had and
- 30:53Speaker 9: many of other athletes have had, it's perfectly It's perfectly
- 30:58Speaker 9: right for earners.

- 32:10Speaker 10: P and C Bank. A lot of people think podcasts
- 32:13Speaker 10: about work are boring, and sure, they definitely can be,
- 32:16Speaker 10: but understanding a professionals routine shows us how they achieve
- 32:20Speaker 10: their success little by little, day after day. It's like
- 32:24Speaker 10: banking with P and C Bank.
- 32:26Speaker 3: It might seem boring to save, plan and make calculated
- 32:28Speaker 3: decisions with your bank, but keeping your money boring is
- 32:32Speaker 3: what helps you live a more happily fulfilled life. P

- 32:50Speaker 1: An illegal alien from Guatemala charged with raping a child
- 32:54Speaker 1: in Massachusetts. An MS thirteen gang member from El Salvador
- 32:58Speaker 1: accused of murdering a tech This man of Venezuelan charged
- 33:02Speaker 1: with filming and selling child pornography in Michigan. These are
- 33:06Speaker 1: just some of the heinous migrant criminals caught because of
- 33:10Speaker 1: President Donald J. Trump's leadership. I'm Christy Noman, the United
- 33:13Speaker 1: States Secretary of Homeland Security. Under President Trump, attempted illegal
- 33:18Speaker 1: border crossings are at the lowest levels ever recorded, and
- 33:22Speaker 1: over one hundred thousand illegal aliens have been arrested. If
- 33:25Speaker 1: you are here illegally, your next you will be fine
- 33:29Speaker 1: nearly one thousand dollars a day, imprisoned and deported, you
- 33:33Speaker 1: will never return. But if you register using our CBP
- 33:37Speaker 1: home app and leave now, you could be allowed to
- 33:39Speaker 1: return legally. Do what's right. Leave now. Under President Trump
- 33:44Speaker 1: America's laws, border and families will.
- 33:47Speaker 9: Be protected sponsored by the United States Department of Homeland
- 33:50Speaker 9: Security for them. We just wanted to make sure there
- 33:53Speaker 9: was another option, and so we've had conversations. I've had
- 33:57Speaker 9: colleagues at the NCAA for years through my past at
- 34:01Speaker 9: the NBA, and what we've recognize is that optionality is
- 34:04Speaker 9: good for young people, and this is one option. There's
- 34:07Speaker 9: actually only twenty seven spots, so it's it's it's not
- 34:10Speaker 9: affecting sort of the broader ecosystem. And we want young
- 34:14Speaker 9: people like Bryson to be able to make choices, and
- 34:17Speaker 9: so I would say that they generally agree with that,
- 34:21Speaker 9: and we just want to make sure that they understand
- 34:24Speaker 9: what we're up to, and we want to understand that
- 34:26Speaker 9: when we're speaking to families that we can speak with
- 34:29Speaker 9: clarity on the choices and the trade offs, if you will.
- 34:34Speaker 3: Being that you are here and they are being paid
- 34:37Speaker 3: in preparing them for professional life, so they have to
- 34:39Speaker 3: sign with agents. Are agents here for them? How does
- 34:43Speaker 3: that work?
- 34:44Speaker 9: They there's a there's an there's a sort of a
- 34:48Speaker 9: diverse set of choices that they've all made. Some of
- 34:51Speaker 9: them do have agents, others have had legal representations, some
- 34:55Speaker 9: have leveraged their family to get to this point. What
- 34:59Speaker 9: what Bryson's starting to experience and a lot of them,
- 35:02Speaker 9: is what's the diagnostic to making decisions around who is
- 35:05Speaker 9: in your circle? So we don't necessarily we don't recommend
- 35:10Speaker 9: anybody or or any particular path. We just provide them
- 35:14Speaker 9: with the right questions to ask as they're contemplating it,
- 35:17Speaker 9: what are the factors?
- 35:17Speaker 2: What are the things you think are important to you?
- 35:20Speaker 9: And what are the what are the types of resources
- 35:23Speaker 9: and services you're gonna need to support this as you
- 35:25Speaker 9: as you move forward?
- 35:26Speaker 6: You you saw it with an agent, right, I'm with
- 35:29Speaker 6: Derek pa quality Control. Quality Control.
- 35:32Speaker 8: See so yeah, shout out to the guys. So how
- 35:37Speaker 8: did that come about? How did that talk about? Like,
- 35:39Speaker 8: how did they approach you?
- 35:40Speaker 9: How?
- 35:40Speaker 6: What made you time with them?
- 35:41Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 35:41Speaker 4: I've been knowing DP for like like a year now,
- 35:44Speaker 4: I think, so me and him, we've just been getting close.
- 35:47Speaker 4: He's just been talking to me about different stuff. He's
- 35:49Speaker 4: to represent John Moran, he represents Jared Allen, so you know,
- 35:53Speaker 4: just building a relationship with him. And yeah, he decided
- 35:56Speaker 4: to go with QC. He's the head of basketball there
- 35:58Speaker 4: now too. So I just thought it is you know,
- 36:00Speaker 4: they're here in Atlanta over times in Atlanta, So I
- 36:02Speaker 4: thought that was the best thing for me and my family.
- 36:04Speaker 3: He got a little baby look to him, got a
- 36:07Speaker 3: little baby look that is that your favorite artists?
- 36:09Speaker 7: Yeah, little baby look to him?
- 36:11Speaker 3: But so nil Obviously he's taken over college sports where
- 36:17Speaker 3: players are actually able to monetize off their likeness. Do
- 36:21Speaker 3: these gentlemen also have the same opportunities to seek endorsements
- 36:25Speaker 3: from outside companies?
- 36:27Speaker 9: Yes, yes, and in fact that was put in place
- 36:30Speaker 9: before the decision Supreme Court. That was always our plan.
- 36:34Speaker 9: And now it's great that other athletes in not only
- 36:38Speaker 9: basketball but broader across the NCAAA are able to realize
- 36:43Speaker 9: that same thing because it aligns with what our belief
- 36:47Speaker 9: has been the whole time, is that these young people
- 36:49Speaker 9: should be have access and should be empowered to realize
- 36:52Speaker 9: their value now and not have to wait.
- 36:54Speaker 8: So like in Europe, like Luca, he's been playing prost
- 36:58Speaker 8: he was fourteen years old, right, it's pretty common where
- 37:00Speaker 8: they have like the Pro League for kids and they
- 37:04Speaker 8: and then they grow and then they go to like
- 37:06Speaker 8: you know, the pro leagues over there, or if they
- 37:07Speaker 8: good enough, they go to the NBA.
- 37:09Speaker 6: So is that the idea of this?
- 37:12Speaker 8: I know it has three teams right now, but do
- 37:13Speaker 8: you see this where it's like twenty teams all across
- 37:17Speaker 8: America in different satellite overtime locations. And then this is
- 37:22Speaker 8: really like the European how they have it over there,
- 37:25Speaker 8: but is here in America is that something that you
- 37:27Speaker 8: guys envision.
- 37:30Speaker 9: I can't completely play out how the the ecosystem will react,
- 37:33Speaker 9: because in fact, Real Madrid only has one of those teams, right,
- 37:37Speaker 9: But yes, you're right, all of the others, whether it's
- 37:39Speaker 9: Real Madrid or Barcelona, both in soccer and now in basketball,
- 37:42Speaker 9: have these academies or these programs that kind of work
- 37:45Speaker 9: themselves up. And that's why in some ways what we're
- 37:48Speaker 9: doing is revolutionary, but only by way of geography.
- 37:52Speaker 2: This is not revolutionary in the world of soccer.
- 37:55Speaker 9: This is decades long of a model, not necessarily attached
- 37:59Speaker 9: to immedia company, but certainly attached to pretty strong brands,
- 38:03Speaker 9: you know, to have you still have to recognize it.
- 38:06Speaker 9: Right now, there's a finite pool of elite, you know,
- 38:10Speaker 9: hyper elite players and talent, and so I think it's
- 38:13Speaker 9: important that we recognize how big the pool of people
- 38:17Speaker 9: who should be making this decision is, and we need
- 38:19Speaker 9: to be responsible on how we grow, how we grow
- 38:21Speaker 9: based on that pool. I can see us having more
- 38:24Speaker 9: than three teams, certainly in the coming years, but.
- 38:28Speaker 2: I don't necessarily, I don't want to.
- 38:29Speaker 6: But also it's so how many kids on the teams international?
- 38:33Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 38:33Speaker 9: Seven seven, of our twenty seven in our first year,
- 38:35Speaker 9: which was pleasant surprise.
- 38:37Speaker 8: Basketball is the international huge in Europe, NBA, Africa, Africa,
- 38:43Speaker 8: So they might be a limited amount of talent in America,
- 38:47Speaker 8: but now when you start going overseas, that changes the
- 38:50Speaker 8: whole dynamic. So talk about that, talk about the overseas
- 38:54Speaker 8: marketing and bringing players in from overseas.
- 38:57Speaker 9: Yes, so we have scouts that cover you know, coast
- 39:00Speaker 9: to coast in the United States, and we also have
- 39:02Speaker 9: scouts over overseas that cover Europe, Africa and beyond. In fact,
- 39:06Speaker 9: one of our players is from the Philippines. And we're
- 39:09Speaker 9: going to continue to build out our capabilities and making
- 39:12Speaker 9: sure that we're tracking and partnering with folks that can
- 39:15Speaker 9: identify talent, and that certainly does open the pool up, right,
- 39:18Speaker 9: And so you know what's great about being in our
- 39:22Speaker 9: first year and actually thinking into the future is we're
- 39:25Speaker 9: gonna start to be all identified. What is an OTE athlete,
- 39:27Speaker 9: what is the profile of an OTE athlete, what's the
- 39:30Speaker 9: DNA of a young man that we believe has the
- 39:33Speaker 9: potential to succeed in this type of program, And that'll
- 39:37Speaker 9: help us determine how large the pool is. Right this
- 39:40Speaker 9: is an invitation only operation, and so we have to
- 39:43Speaker 9: start to set the criteria and the standard for which
- 39:46Speaker 9: talent looks looks like.
- 39:47Speaker 2: But I agree with you. I think the pool is
- 39:49Speaker 2: bigger than we all think.
- 39:51Speaker 6: You had.
- 39:53Speaker 3: Said earlier about the education system, and so I'm sending
- 39:57Speaker 3: him thinking like being like I said, this is very
- 39:59Speaker 3: much structure to how school goes. I want to know, Bryson,
- 40:04Speaker 3: what a day in the life is like of I
- 40:07Speaker 3: guess we could say student athletes slash employee. What is
- 40:10Speaker 3: that like? Is there a regimen you guys all have
- 40:12Speaker 3: to wake up at the same time? Is there a
- 40:13Speaker 3: certain amount of time that's a loted for school? And
- 40:16Speaker 3: obviously you got to train. So what's the day in
- 40:17Speaker 3: the life look like for you guys?
- 40:19Speaker 4: So every morning, first we do wake up COVID tests
- 40:22Speaker 4: every morning. Okay, So then depending on what trying to
- 40:26Speaker 4: bust everybody getting bus at the same time. Like me,
- 40:29Speaker 4: I come to the gym every morning.
- 40:31Speaker 3: You're being bust from where from apartments apartments, So we'll
- 40:35Speaker 3: get a bust from my apartments to come here.
- 40:37Speaker 4: But like me and some other guys, I'll come to
- 40:39Speaker 4: the gym before everybody gets here.
- 40:41Speaker 5: It gets shots.
- 40:42Speaker 4: Up and then depending on what day it is, we'll
- 40:44Speaker 4: have school from about like every's in the morning, it'll
- 40:48Speaker 4: be like ten to one, and then practice from like
- 40:50Speaker 4: two to five, and then we'll get some lunch in
- 40:53Speaker 4: between that. So after that you'll have recovery wait, and
- 40:57Speaker 4: then you get some extra.
- 40:58Speaker 5: Work in you.
- 41:00Speaker 6: So the males you eat mails here.
- 41:03Speaker 5: Yes, it would be his breakfast, lunch, and dinner here.
- 41:06Speaker 6: How's the food good? All right?
- 41:11Speaker 9: So you know that it's interesting, yeah, because what it's good?
- 41:16Speaker 9: But it's all so different, right, And so what we're
- 41:19Speaker 9: finding is that we have twenty seven young people have
- 41:22Speaker 9: come from all different places in the world and walks
- 41:25Speaker 9: of life, and so becoming more conscientious of what you eat,
- 41:31Speaker 9: whether it's how well you fuel your body relative to hydration,
- 41:36Speaker 9: relative to protein and and and fruits and vegetables.
- 41:41Speaker 2: It's an adjustment for some of them. For sure.
- 41:44Speaker 3: I'm listening to because I'm like, if I'm the guy,
- 41:45Speaker 3: the kid sitting in the nutrition class and now I'm
- 41:47Speaker 3: going to eat what I just learned is still in
- 41:50Speaker 3: my mind. Like I used to do this project when
- 41:52Speaker 3: I was teaching health about SODA's and like this tropical fantasy.
- 41:56Speaker 7: It was one. It was like how much sugar is
- 41:58Speaker 7: in it? It was like a whole project.
- 41:59Speaker 3: And then I walk down the street as I'm going
- 42:01Speaker 3: home and I see kids still buying it, and it's
- 42:02Speaker 3: just like, man, they didn't really get that message. But
- 42:05Speaker 3: now you're actually like I can imagine the nutrition instructor.
- 42:09Speaker 3: It's like in the cafeteria whatever you guys are eating.
- 42:11Speaker 3: Like remember we just spoke about.
- 42:13Speaker 8: Like I said, going to IMG changed my life because
- 42:16Speaker 8: the nutrition was real big for me. I went to
- 42:18Speaker 8: Wasshington before, and it was night and day. Weinhington just
- 42:23Speaker 8: for reference, it's in the middle of nowhere in Massachusetts
- 42:27Speaker 8: and there's nothing around it. And it was a McDonald's there,
- 42:30Speaker 8: and I used to eat McDonald's every day to the
- 42:31Speaker 8: point I think I gave myself a stomach also, like
- 42:34Speaker 8: I really had stomach pains bad.
- 42:36Speaker 6: And we went to IMG.
- 42:39Speaker 8: They had personal chefs and they was making like meals
- 42:42Speaker 8: and it was like and that's the first time I
- 42:45Speaker 8: really started to really think about nutrition, and it's carried
- 42:48Speaker 8: with me my whole life. And that's the best shape
- 42:51Speaker 8: I've ever been in because it was like waking up
- 42:53Speaker 8: you're eating good.
- 42:55Speaker 6: And then you're just working.
- 42:55Speaker 8: Out and it was in Florida, so it's hot, so
- 42:58Speaker 8: you know you're staying in shape. And then it's hard
- 43:01Speaker 8: to really explain if you haven't really been through it,
- 43:03Speaker 8: but you get a greater appreciation for like world class
- 43:06Speaker 8: athletes when you're training like a world class athlete, even
- 43:09Speaker 8: if you're in high school. But to train like a
- 43:11Speaker 8: world class athlete, it's actually bigger than sports because now
- 43:14Speaker 8: mentally you have a way more discipline, your your physical
- 43:20Speaker 8: appearance is better, you know nutrition, So that level of
- 43:24Speaker 8: training a last your whole life, So appreciate it and
- 43:28Speaker 8: b is something that goes way bigger than just sports.
- 43:35Speaker 9: Yeah, and we're simply so far just talking about the
- 43:38Speaker 9: physical piece of it. Well, we're also what we're also
- 43:41Speaker 9: spending a lot of time with these athletes is about
- 43:42Speaker 9: the social emotional side of it, and so mindfulness and
- 43:46Speaker 9: understanding how to be in touch with yourself and how
- 43:49Speaker 9: to make sure you understand where you're at in terms
- 43:52Speaker 9: of your your mental wellness along the way, because they're
- 43:56Speaker 9: going to face adversity, they've decided on a path that's
- 43:59Speaker 9: going to make them uncomfortable at various times, and so
- 44:02Speaker 9: we're trying to We've always said this is about the
- 44:04Speaker 9: whole athlete.
- 44:05Speaker 8: I was gonna ask you have a sports psychologists here.
- 44:07Speaker 7: We do very important you know.
- 44:09Speaker 3: One of the things that it's key is that they're
- 44:12Speaker 3: getting paid right, and so they're that financial literacy piece.
- 44:16Speaker 3: Are they telling them or advising them on the things
- 44:19Speaker 3: to invest in? And if so, what are some of
- 44:20Speaker 3: those things that they're telling us young men to invest in.
- 44:24Speaker 7: At this point, again, it's.
- 44:25Speaker 9: About the diagnostic. This is not we are not playing
- 44:28Speaker 9: the role of financial advisor, your lawyer or agent. What
- 44:32Speaker 9: we're trying to do is surround them with people who've
- 44:34Speaker 9: been through this. As an example, a week and a
- 44:36Speaker 9: half ago, Tony Parker was here.
- 44:38Speaker 2: We'll spend time with with with with the.
- 44:40Speaker 9: Team talking about his experiences and you know, one of
- 44:44Speaker 9: the one of the big lessons and you should build
- 44:46Speaker 9: on this is he talked about how important it is
- 44:49Speaker 9: to seek out resources while you are still playing. And
- 44:54Speaker 9: Bryce and maybe share a little bit about why that
- 44:56Speaker 9: was so important for Tony.
- 44:58Speaker 4: Yeah, he told us, like you said, want to you know,
- 45:01Speaker 4: try to seek your resources out while you're playing, because
- 45:03Speaker 4: that's when they're gonna call you back. It was like,
- 45:06Speaker 4: you know, you want to reach as many people as possible.
- 45:08Speaker 4: Like he was telling us he was getting sit down
- 45:12Speaker 4: with like some of the biggest people in business while
- 45:14Speaker 4: he was playing because they was gonna call him back,
- 45:16Speaker 4: they was gonna be willing to talk to him.
- 45:18Speaker 5: So that was a big thing. You know, we all
- 45:20Speaker 5: got from that.
- 45:20Speaker 3: As soon as he went to the Bobcasts, they stopped
- 45:22Speaker 3: answering shout out to the Hall of fam Let me ask.
- 45:25Speaker 8: You this because this is a unique situation because it's
- 45:27Speaker 8: in Atlanta. It's a lot different from Sarasota, Florida, where
- 45:31Speaker 8: IMG is. There's a lot of temptations out here, there's
- 45:34Speaker 8: a lot of influence. This is hip hop, this is everything, right,
- 45:39Speaker 8: So are there safeguards in place to kind of because
- 45:43Speaker 8: I mean, you look at you like you know what
- 45:44Speaker 8: I'm saying, Like you look at those kinds of documents.
- 45:46Speaker 8: Now you're serious, Like this gets bigger and bigger, and
- 45:50Speaker 8: it's like, you know, you got a lot of things
- 45:52Speaker 8: that's good, but it could be some negative influences as well.
- 45:55Speaker 8: So what it Are there safeguards in place or are
- 45:59Speaker 8: there type of mechanis to make sure that the kids
- 46:02Speaker 8: stay focused and don't lose sight of their goals because
- 46:06Speaker 8: like I said, I mean, we love Atlanta, but it
- 46:09Speaker 8: can be distracting.
- 46:10Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean the key is having it's always eyes
- 46:13Speaker 9: wide open and having an open conversation about our expectations
- 46:17Speaker 9: and also.
- 46:20Speaker 2: The things that get in the way of that, the obstacles.
- 46:23Speaker 9: And while we talk about it a lot, we also
- 46:25Speaker 9: as an organization need to be responsible that we're still
- 46:28Speaker 9: dealing with young men sixteen to nineteen years old and
- 46:31Speaker 9: we owe it to them as individuals, but also to
- 46:34Speaker 9: their families. And so we're structured, you know, like a
- 46:37Speaker 9: like a small college, and that we have we have
- 46:40Speaker 9: Damian Wilkins as our dean of Athlete Experience and Culture
- 46:44Speaker 9: who's been through exactly what we're going through. Obviously, Kevin Ali,
- 46:49Speaker 9: Ryan Domes you referenced earlier, Brandon Williams, who worked in
- 46:52Speaker 9: our Player Programs Division at the NBA and then went
- 46:55Speaker 9: on to be an assistant GM both at the Sixers
- 46:58Speaker 9: and and the sacer Menal Kings has been working with
- 47:01Speaker 9: young athletes in this in this space and these conversations,
- 47:05Speaker 9: UH for for for the last two decades, and so
- 47:08Speaker 9: certainly we have experienced people who have not only been
- 47:10Speaker 9: around guiding athletes but also have lived it.
- 47:13Speaker 2: And then we also have.
- 47:14Speaker 9: A residence life team, So where Bryson lives, we have
- 47:18Speaker 9: people who live there full time a to just sort
- 47:22Speaker 9: of make sure that they're there to guide them, but
- 47:23Speaker 9: also to make sure that we we avoid trouble and
- 47:26Speaker 9: avoid trouble finding us.
- 47:29Speaker 7: Yeah, our ends.
- 47:31Speaker 3: So I mean we use the word employee, and so
- 47:34Speaker 3: there's a lot of safeguards put in place and make
- 47:36Speaker 3: sure they stay on tasks and make sure they do
- 47:38Speaker 3: the right thing. But if you're an employee, same way
- 47:41Speaker 3: you're hired, you could be fired. And so what are like,
- 47:45Speaker 3: what is that process like if somebody has to be
- 47:47Speaker 3: removed from this?
- 47:48Speaker 2: I mean we we.
- 47:49Speaker 9: We've established code of conduct, we have a handbook that
- 47:53Speaker 9: our employees and they're responsible for adhering to. We recognize
- 47:58Speaker 9: that this is a partnership, is a community, right, it's
- 48:01Speaker 9: a it's a community and we're partners. So the hope
- 48:05Speaker 9: is that these young men start to realize that.
- 48:08Speaker 7: But we we we know we.
- 48:09Speaker 9: Know that in life there are going to people that
- 48:12Speaker 9: that that that find different paths. I mean, the combination
- 48:16Speaker 9: of making sure that there's accountability, but also a restorative
- 48:20Speaker 9: element to what we're talking about, and that yes, young,
- 48:23Speaker 9: young people will make bad decisions, and the question is
- 48:25Speaker 9: is what's the conversation we have after it and how
- 48:28Speaker 9: do we get them back on the right path and
- 48:29Speaker 9: how do we actually use that moment to illuminate the consequences.
- 48:34Speaker 8: Well, you said people can watch it, like what's the
- 48:36Speaker 8: streaming options that they watch? Like, if you wanted to
- 48:39Speaker 8: watch a game, how how can they watch it?
- 48:41Speaker 9: So there's a couple of different ways you can consume
- 48:44Speaker 9: this one is just sort of in more real time
- 48:46Speaker 9: through our I G handles, through TikTok, through Twitter, but
- 48:51Speaker 9: our game summaries and our game recaps are on YouTube
- 48:55Speaker 9: and and we what we found about uh, this next
- 48:59Speaker 9: generation sports fan think about it. We just went through
- 49:03Speaker 9: a pandemic where plenty of us have pretty sizable televisions
- 49:07Speaker 9: on our on our on our walls, and I can
- 49:09Speaker 9: tell you in my house, I have a sixteen and
- 49:10Speaker 9: a twelve year old and it was never on.
- 49:13Speaker 2: In fact, they consume most of their media on a small.
- 49:16Speaker 9: Format and in fact, they don't watch ninety minutes of anything.
- 49:19Speaker 9: And the statistics will will tell you that well, the
- 49:23Speaker 9: average age of the viewer for most traditional pro sports
- 49:28Speaker 9: continues to go up. There is a consumption pattern of
- 49:32Speaker 9: young people who actually love watching sports in a condensed
- 49:36Speaker 9: form through digital through digital mediums, and so we overtime
- 49:41Speaker 9: have really found that our sweet spot is meeting that
- 49:45Speaker 9: next generation fan online and specifically on YouTube.
- 49:48Speaker 8: So you don't you don't play the whole game. They
- 49:50Speaker 8: can't watch the hole. It's just like clips.
- 49:52Speaker 2: It's most of the whole game. It's just condensed in
- 49:55Speaker 2: that it kind of collapses some of the parts.
- 49:59Speaker 9: And and what's interesting about the YouTube viewer, it continues
- 50:03Speaker 9: to evolve while many of us think about it on
- 50:06Speaker 9: the form of a phone or on an iPad. In fact,
- 50:09Speaker 9: more connected TVs each and every each and every month
- 50:13Speaker 9: is starting to show longer view times of YouTube content
- 50:17Speaker 9: because it's actually coming through.
- 50:19Speaker 2: A large song.
- 50:19Speaker 3: So your YouTube viewers, because we're in this, I mean,
- 50:21Speaker 3: we got to show everybody.
- 50:23Speaker 7: But this is like state of the art arena.
- 50:25Speaker 3: This is like arena when you go to a typical
- 50:27Speaker 3: high school, a prep school, the student body is who
- 50:29Speaker 3: fills the stands. You have twenty seven students, even if
- 50:32Speaker 3: you brought their families. It wouldn't be able to feel
- 50:34Speaker 3: how do you get people in here? Is YouTube the fact, like,
- 50:37Speaker 3: what are we doing to get people in these seats?
- 50:40Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 50:40Speaker 9: So this is this is Atlanta's this this is going
- 50:43Speaker 9: to become Atlanta's home. And what we're here to do
- 50:46Speaker 9: is make sure that we're connecting with the community in
- 50:48Speaker 9: as many way as possible, whether it's the Atlantic Station
- 50:51Speaker 9: area directly around us, or it's the broader it's the
- 50:54Speaker 9: broader community here in Atlanta. We want them to make
- 50:57Speaker 9: we want to make this their home. And so what
- 50:59Speaker 9: we've gone out done is we've started to build partnerships,
- 51:02Speaker 9: partnerships with key influencers in the market, with the high
- 51:05Speaker 9: school community, with with the city. The city has been
- 51:09Speaker 9: an incredible partner to us since being here. We have
- 51:13Speaker 9: we have even had relationships and conversations with our w
- 51:16Speaker 9: n B A and our NBA neighbors here in the market.
- 51:19Speaker 9: We're surrounded by an incredible, you know, community of of
- 51:23Speaker 9: of of universities and colleges that we're starting to reach
- 51:27Speaker 9: out to. And so the idea is that for Atlanta
- 51:30Speaker 9: to really take pride in having ot you're in it
- 51:32Speaker 9: right here in the center of the city.
- 51:34Speaker 3: Now, Bryson, you had the NBA scouts come here, and
- 51:38Speaker 3: that was pressure. But what's it like when Quavo and
- 51:41Speaker 3: two Chains are watching you play and these are guys you're.
- 51:43Speaker 7: Looking up to.
- 51:44Speaker 3: What's that like when you have these level celebrities, when
- 51:46Speaker 3: you got on your leagiers in front row.
- 51:48Speaker 7: A by the way, Uh, what's that like?
- 51:50Speaker 3: Playing in front of some of the guys that you
- 51:52Speaker 3: watch on YouTube, watching TV and now the here watching
- 51:54Speaker 3: you play.
- 51:55Speaker 5: It's definitely exciting.
- 51:56Speaker 4: I mean we've been going hard, but just to you know,
- 51:59Speaker 4: he don't like side like you can go buy say
- 52:01Speaker 4: what's up to them? Stuff like that, Like they're real
- 52:03Speaker 4: down the earth, So I mean, you know, it's just
- 52:06Speaker 4: fun seeing them there watch you play. You know, they'll
- 52:08Speaker 4: even be talking to you at the game, like, wait,
- 52:09Speaker 4: we were talking to me with QC two.
- 52:11Speaker 5: But you know it's fact two change came.
- 52:13Speaker 4: I mean, like you know they come in, you hear
- 52:15Speaker 4: everybody start going crazy. Like I said, the environment just
- 52:18Speaker 4: gets even better when they're here.
- 52:19Speaker 8: Ye So there's been another cultural icon that started something
- 52:26Speaker 8: Team shout out to yeasy the Dondae Academy. Are you
- 52:30Speaker 8: guys gonna play the don Dae Academy TBD.
- 52:33Speaker 9: Uh.
- 52:34Speaker 2: You know this space is it's amazing. This space is
- 52:36Speaker 2: evolving so fast. We were talking about before.
- 52:38Speaker 9: It's like, you know, seven weeks ago we set our schedule,
- 52:42Speaker 9: we announced it, and we've already seen you know, different
- 52:46Speaker 9: programs pop up, players exchanging. This is this is sort
- 52:50Speaker 9: of a a peek into what you know, elite prep
- 52:54Speaker 9: basketball has been has been going through and it continues
- 52:57Speaker 9: to evolve. And so you know, we're not we haven't
- 53:01Speaker 9: been in direct contact with Don it's obviously it's been
- 53:04Speaker 9: launched in.
- 53:04Speaker 2: The last couple of weeks.
- 53:05Speaker 9: So we just love that there's more options for young
- 53:08Speaker 9: people and anybody who's investing in the future of young
- 53:13Speaker 9: athletes and surrounding them with what with what's necessary to
- 53:16Speaker 9: pursue their dreams.
- 53:17Speaker 2: We're here for and we'll see.
- 53:20Speaker 6: Let me ask you this.
- 53:21Speaker 8: So, all right, kids are getting paid, So I'm assuming
- 53:24Speaker 8: they have to sign contracts, right, correct?
- 53:26Speaker 6: How long is it like one year contract or two?
- 53:29Speaker 2: It varies? It varies obviously because we have sixteen to
- 53:31Speaker 2: nineteen year.
- 53:32Speaker 9: Old athletes, they're in various parts of their path to
- 53:36Speaker 9: be becoming becoming you know, they're pros now but pursuing
- 53:40Speaker 9: the next level. Obviously with the one and done in place,
- 53:45Speaker 9: it's really it's one year removed from your graduation year.
- 53:48Speaker 2: Is sort of the rule as it stands today.
- 53:51Speaker 9: And so there are athletes that have multiple year contract
- 53:54Speaker 9: contracts with US that get them to that point.
- 53:56Speaker 3: And it's annually. So the one hundred thousand is annually.
- 53:57Speaker 3: So if I'm sixteen, I'm getting a hundred thousand sixteen
- 54:00Speaker 3: years as my let's say junior year six one hundred
- 54:02Speaker 3: thousand as my senior year. And with the BOTUS says
- 54:05Speaker 3: it could be obviously more.
- 54:06Speaker 2: Correct correct if yeah, if you were getting the minimum, yes.
- 54:09Speaker 8: So you are you recruiting? Like are you recruiting players?
- 54:13Speaker 8: Like how a college coach will go to somebody's house
- 54:15Speaker 8: and sit down with their parents and give them the
- 54:17Speaker 8: whole rundown and why they should go to this college.
- 54:20Speaker 8: Is that similar to all you working with AAU coaches,
- 54:22Speaker 8: Like what's the feeding process to actually get kids in?
- 54:25Speaker 2: I mean we're.
- 54:26Speaker 9: Tapped into whoever is the circle or the ecosystem that
- 54:30Speaker 9: surrounds a particular support network that surrounds an athlete. I
- 54:33Speaker 9: mean most of this was done virtually given the given
- 54:35Speaker 9: the pandemic. But now that we have a facility, now
- 54:38Speaker 9: that obviously the aspects of the of the pandemic are
- 54:42Speaker 9: allowing us to meet people live and to have a
- 54:45Speaker 9: place to do it.
- 54:45Speaker 2: We're starting to even have conversations.
- 54:47Speaker 6: It's like visits colleges and or folks coming here.
- 54:50Speaker 8: That's what I'm saying, Like they can have like how
- 54:52Speaker 8: you do like your college visit when you go to college.
- 54:54Speaker 6: Yes, kids can come here and visit here.
- 54:56Speaker 3: Like can you imagine when you leave the woodlands they
- 54:59Speaker 3: brought you there, I'd be like, I we we're not
- 55:02Speaker 3: gonna see Sauty anymore.
- 55:03Speaker 2: Lights up, put your highlights on that thing.
- 55:05Speaker 7: This big.
- 55:07Speaker 2: That's called sold.
- 55:09Speaker 7: It's called sold. All right, So obviously you said that
- 55:12Speaker 7: right now the viewership.
- 55:13Speaker 3: Is YouTube, but I'm thinking this could obviously is gonna
- 55:17Speaker 3: be a lot bigger. Are the big broadcasting networks coming
- 55:20Speaker 3: to you now already? Because there's a big broadcast network
- 55:23Speaker 3: that is not too far from here, Atlanta based. Might
- 55:25Speaker 3: I've heard of them, Turner Sports, But I can envision
- 55:28Speaker 3: them coming in and saying like we need to be
- 55:30Speaker 3: a part of this.
- 55:31Speaker 7: Is that a long term vision? Is that's something you
- 55:33Speaker 7: guys looking forward.
- 55:33Speaker 9: To Yeah, global distribution is clearly an important path for
- 55:37Speaker 9: us to continue to examine and explore. And we've we
- 55:42Speaker 9: have relationships across the entire ecosystem, as you can imagine,
- 55:45Speaker 9: and even that space is evolving right from traditional or
- 55:49Speaker 9: linear television to more digital platforms OTT you know, even
- 55:54Speaker 9: even sort of pay per view is becoming I think.
- 55:57Speaker 9: So we're keeping all of our options open. And it's
- 55:59Speaker 9: not domestic, it's international. So that's certainly that's certainly in
- 56:05Speaker 9: our vision and our plans going.
- 56:06Speaker 8: Forward right soon. What is some ideas that you have
- 56:09Speaker 8: They talked about a trading cards. Do you do you
- 56:12Speaker 8: have like business ideas that you want to like put
- 56:15Speaker 8: in place over the next couple of years.
- 56:18Speaker 4: I mean, right now I'm just exploring see what I'll
- 56:21Speaker 4: see what I like, and I know other people do,
- 56:24Speaker 4: but yeah, I'm just seeing what I like and what
- 56:25Speaker 4: I want to get into.
- 56:27Speaker 8: You know, Just do you have passions outside of basketball,
- 56:29Speaker 8: like music or anything like that, like art?
- 56:31Speaker 4: I mean, I just, like I said, just like giving back,
- 56:33Speaker 4: you know what I mean to my community back in Arkansas,
- 56:35Speaker 4: just giving them a platform more exposure.
- 56:37Speaker 5: So That's why I started my.
- 56:38Speaker 8: Team How is it like? Have you been back to
- 56:41Speaker 8: Arkansas since.
- 56:43Speaker 5: I've been here?
- 56:43Speaker 4: I've not been back to Arkansas. I'm going back next
- 56:45Speaker 4: Week'll be fun.
- 56:47Speaker 7: We don't give them the name, the Prince of Little Rocky.
- 56:49Speaker 6: But how how is it? How is it like?
- 56:50Speaker 8: Because I know how that feeling is when you come
- 56:52Speaker 8: from you know, a smaller town and everybody's looking at
- 56:56Speaker 8: you as like you know, the person that's gonna make it,
- 56:59Speaker 8: and it's a lot of hope and aspiration sometimes even pressure.
- 57:03Speaker 6: Are you Are you feeling that yet?
- 57:05Speaker 4: I mean yeah, you know, like I get a lot
- 57:06Speaker 4: of d EM's like yeah, I mean you're your next
- 57:09Speaker 4: You know, they're looking up to me, you know some
- 57:11Speaker 4: of the lickuy.
- 57:12Speaker 5: They tested me, I test them back. You know.
- 57:14Speaker 4: Just no, just because you know from Arkansas, you know
- 57:16Speaker 4: you can dream big, just like I am. So I'm
- 57:18Speaker 4: just you know, trying to give them that hope, enjoy
- 57:20Speaker 4: you know that they can see through me to help them.
- 57:24Speaker 3: The league, well, the G League. I'm looking at Gatorade
- 57:27Speaker 3: G League as an elite team. Obviously you guys are
- 57:30Speaker 3: over timing leader is there, Lenny? Is there is there
- 57:32Speaker 3: something that ties you guys together or two separated sas
- 57:36Speaker 3: man thing that.
- 57:36Speaker 9: Links us together, well two things. One is from a
- 57:40Speaker 9: business perspective. We were we we've been partners with the
- 57:43Speaker 9: g League. In fact, we documented much of Jalen Greens
- 57:48Speaker 9: your last year. We were we were production partners in that.
- 57:51Speaker 9: Obviously Jalen was a part of Prolific Prolific Prep, which
- 57:55Speaker 9: was a school we covered prior to that. And uh, simultaneously,
- 58:01Speaker 9: I'm I'm a longtime friend of Sharif Abdul Raheem.
- 58:04Speaker 2: In fact, we live two times over from each other
- 58:06Speaker 2: and we go to breakfast once a month, and.
- 58:07Speaker 7: So last ninety six he is from Atlanta.
- 58:11Speaker 9: He is from Atlanta, and you know, he also has
- 58:13Speaker 9: a son that's going through the journey right now in college.
- 58:17Speaker 2: In fact, Debris is at Georgia now.
- 58:20Speaker 9: But we would we get together for breakfast, and we
- 58:23Speaker 9: were talking about this when it was just a concept,
- 58:25Speaker 9: and now that it's a reality, it's it's made our
- 58:28Speaker 9: it's made our breakfast interesting.
- 58:30Speaker 2: But certainly we're we're trying to figure out ways.
- 58:32Speaker 9: Like you know, we're clearly on a mission to empower
- 58:36Speaker 9: and to prepare young people. And so it's great to
- 58:38Speaker 9: have a friend and appear in the same space.
- 58:41Speaker 8: Before we rap question. I know a lot of people
- 58:44Speaker 8: that's going to head. Is everybody's going to come knocking
- 58:47Speaker 8: down your door. They want to have them my kids this,
- 58:49Speaker 8: my kid's gonna be.
- 58:52Speaker 6: All right.
- 58:52Speaker 8: I know you're not actually like looking for for talent,
- 58:56Speaker 8: but if somebody wants to come to over time, what
- 59:00Speaker 8: would be the path or is there no path other
- 59:02Speaker 8: than we'll reach out to you if you're good enough.
- 59:05Speaker 9: I mean, if you're if you're in that sort of
- 59:07Speaker 9: that that top of the pyramid, and you're and you're
- 59:10Speaker 9: and you're playing on the stages that that are getting
- 59:13Speaker 9: you noticed, and you know you've shown a an appetite
- 59:18Speaker 9: for this level of focus this early in your life.
- 59:21Speaker 2: Uh, we know.
- 59:22Speaker 9: You know who you are, and we we're we're seeing
- 59:25Speaker 9: you play already and so and we might even be
- 59:29Speaker 9: already sort of contemplating when we're gonna talk.
- 59:32Speaker 2: So I think I feel very confident that.
- 59:37Speaker 9: We're we're we have an incredible recruiting and scouting group
- 59:41Speaker 9: that is continuously looking for people who are looking for
- 59:45Speaker 9: this option and are are showing signs of being prepared
- 59:47Speaker 9: for it.
- 59:48Speaker 8: Powerful Well, ladies and gentlemen, there you have it over time, elite,
- 59:55Speaker 8: What would you like to tell the public before before
- 59:57Speaker 8: we wrap anything, you wanted to just tell people social
- 1:00:00Speaker 8: media handles, anything like that.
- 1:00:02Speaker 9: Yeah, follow it, follow us on ig, TikTok at overtime,
- 1:00:06Speaker 9: a leader at ote what you're going to see. There
- 1:00:10Speaker 9: is an incredible journey that twenty seven young men are
- 1:00:13Speaker 9: taking right now, and they're changing, they're changing the trajectory
- 1:00:17Speaker 9: of of of basketball as we knew it and as
- 1:00:20Speaker 9: I as I told Bryson when he first joined, Uh,
- 1:00:23Speaker 9: we're in the business of pioneering a new path. And
- 1:00:26Speaker 9: there's not too many times in your life, let alone
- 1:00:28Speaker 9: in your career that you get to do it. And so, uh,
- 1:00:30Speaker 9: we'd love for as many people to be on that
- 1:00:32Speaker 9: journey as possible, whether it's in this building, whether it's social,
- 1:00:36Speaker 9: following us on social, or whether it's finding ways for
- 1:00:38Speaker 9: us to partner and and and and and build this,
- 1:00:41Speaker 9: build this together. We're here for it and we're we're
- 1:00:43Speaker 9: incredibly excited about the future.
- 1:00:45Speaker 6: Are you having more fun now or when you was
- 1:00:47Speaker 6: with the NBA?
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: I mean, it's been a it's been a progressive path.
- 1:00:51Speaker 9: I don't think I would have been prepared for this
- 1:00:53Speaker 9: had it not been working at NBA Entertainment, you know,
- 1:00:57Speaker 9: in the in the late nineties, working on Last Dance,
- 1:01:00Speaker 9: helping participate in the launch of the w n b
- 1:01:02Speaker 9: A to running USA Basketball.
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: From a business perspective, I'm.
- 1:01:06Speaker 9: Having this fun because of the work and the things
- 1:01:10Speaker 9: that prepared me for this moment.
- 1:01:12Speaker 7: For sure.
- 1:01:12Speaker 3: Wait wait, wait, you ain't ahead, man. You got to
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: give us the Instagram, give us everything, man, Come on.
- 1:01:17Speaker 4: Now, definitely follow us ot on Instagram and TikTok ot
- 1:01:20Speaker 4: and definitely follow me at as you found Bryson on Instagram.
- 1:01:23Speaker 7: And don't forget that Warre in Jersey. Then you have
- 1:01:25Speaker 7: a point guard. Yes, sir, he's getting busy last night.
- 1:01:30Speaker 7: Oh one last thing.
- 1:01:32Speaker 8: So this is a huge facility training car I think
- 1:01:35Speaker 8: he was talking off camera. Are their ideas to maybe
- 1:01:38Speaker 8: have a basketball camp, maybe do stuff outside of just
- 1:01:42Speaker 8: the Ote family, and maybe have like a greater community
- 1:01:45Speaker 8: involvement for this facility.
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: Certainly.
- 1:01:48Speaker 9: I mean the first thing was trying to get this
- 1:01:50Speaker 9: one hundred and three thousand square foot building up in
- 1:01:52Speaker 9: five and a half months.
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: And now that now the rocket ship is built.
- 1:01:56Speaker 9: Now it's just trying to figure out where the destination
- 1:01:58Speaker 9: is and part of that is engaging community in Atlanta
- 1:02:01Speaker 9: and just broadly in what we're doing and so finding
- 1:02:05Speaker 9: ways to connect to the basketball community in the Atlanta
- 1:02:09Speaker 9: community at large, UH in.
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: Programs and opportunities.
- 1:02:12Speaker 9: For for for them to be a part of This
- 1:02:14Speaker 9: is clearly is clearly in our sites.
- 1:02:17Speaker 6: Uyo celebrity basketball game.
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: Absolutely I'm looking at I mean even like the G
- 1:02:21Speaker 3: League when when they play it doesn't look anything like this.
- 1:02:24Speaker 7: It's like, so, you guys got something special. This is
- 1:02:26Speaker 7: this is incredible. It was incredible.
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: We appreciate you for being interested and thanks for coming.
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: Yeah, no problem, no problem, Choy Bridles. Yeah, I want
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: to shout out the great lou Tucker. Shout Lutucker, shout

- 1:02:52Speaker 3: supporting the merch. Yeah man it love is love. Appreciate y'all.

- 1:03:00Speaker 8: we definitely shout out to our family and Dykement. We
- 1:03:03Speaker 8: definitely we're actually gonna have our own section Indickement next year.
- 1:03:07Speaker 8: Fact that's gonna be crazy.
- 1:03:08Speaker 7: Fact.
- 1:03:08Speaker 8: I have to say, we definitely have to do something here.
