  Let's talk about Starship and let's talk about Elon musk's

  SpaceX. There was a article written in
• 3:24
  the conversation. And it's a by Samantha Rolf.

  So Space X is going to be sending Starship with about 100.

  People probably 100 people to Mars at some point.

  There are some things that we have to worry about because one
• 3:43
  that's a lot of people. That's the most people ever to

  be in space at the same time. Usually there is a few people on
• 3:51
  the space station you know, if there's a crew going up to the
• 3:54
  space station, there's two people on that pod during the
• 3:57
  space shuttle. There were a couple people in
• 3:59
  the space shuttle Russian flights, you know, those are
• 4:03
  usually a few people. So this would be a huge, huge
• 4:09
  thing, think about a, an aeroplane like a regular
• 4:13
  airplane hundred people on the airplane or more, that's what it
• 4:18
  would be like. Starship would be a bunch of
• 4:20
  people going to the surface of Mars.

  Now, in this article on the conversation.com, The author

  says there's a few things. That we have to worry about when

  we go to Mars. We have to worry about
• 4:37
  contamination. So, there's no way there's no
• 4:42
  possible way that we can decontaminate even one person

  enough to not spread microbes when we get to another world.

  So if we go to Mars, we have microbes all over us.

  No matter how much stuff you spray on us, no matter what kind

  of suits you wear. We're always going to have
• 5:05
  microbes, they live on us and in us.

  So we're going to have microbes on the surface of Mars that we
• 5:12
  brought there. So we could possibly contaminate
• 5:15
  and threaten alien organisms if they actually exist on Mars.

  So if we were to find Life on Mars, Do to you know these

  exploration techniques that we use with SpaceX is Starship, it

  may not be a martian organism, it could be something that came
• 5:35
  from us. We'd have to test it out.

  Takes a long time but we can also kill whatever organism is
• 5:41
  already there. Say if it what, if it's the last
• 5:44
  living thing on Mars? And we bring a disease basically

  to the red planet. What would happen at that point?

  We would have destroyed a whole planets worth of stuff worth of
• 5:58
  worth of organisms. And that's not what we want.

  We want to go there and we want to examine things, we want to

  study things we want to do science, we want to build a

  colony on Mars, that's the whole plan.

  And the reason why they want to do this, why SpaceX wants to do

  this and why Elon Musk has this Vision is because what if say, a

  gigantic asteroid hits the Earth, well, there's a reason
• 6:25
  why you want to make Starship and that's because if this were
• 6:28
  to happen, we did at least have the opportunity to send a couple
• 6:33
  hundred people to Mars to further Humanity.

  What if everything gets extinct on Earth, due to this asteroid,
• 6:42
  at least there's a couple hundred people.
• 6:44
  On Mars to continue Humanity. That's all it is.

  It has nothing to do with the fact that, you know, we can't
• 6:52
  live here because we can't we can continue to live on earth
• 6:54
  and it will be fine. But it's the idea that if
• 6:58
  something does happen, we have an escape plan.

  That's part of it, right? So now what happens?

  If you're in deep space, right? There's other things that happen

  to you in deep space. It's not just, you know, if we

  contaminate another world it's radiation of course in that
• 7:20
  could be very very harmful. To a normal person.

  Of course, they're going to be building Starships.

  So it's is immune as possible to solar radiation into all the

  dangers that are in space. There's no magnetic shield
• 7:38
  around Starship. At this point, they could
• 7:41
  possibly. I mean, it's it's a really far
• 7:45
  stretch here. But there's, there's no real
• 7:48
  technology that can do this to build a magnetic field around
• 7:51
  Starship, so space radiation. Ian for about a six-month

  Journey between Earth and Mars could harm the humans on board,

  the spaceship, Radiation protection.

  Technology is a long way behind other aspects of rocketry they

  well, just between us and the ISS is a lot of danger, you're

  on a little pod, you're in a little pot on top of a gigantic

  past the Earth's gravitational field.

  And further out you know towards the ISS but also if you have to

  go to Mars that's more Danger. The More Time year in Space, the

  more danger, the more time you have to be in danger basically.

  So hopefully they're working on shielding right now.

  They're just working on the Mark 1 Mark to mark three prototypes
• 8:53
  of Starship, which will be doing flight tests and hover tests
• 8:57
  with within the next, you know, year or so.

  And they hope to get a Starship into orbit by next year.

  And that would be amazing. They want to do start doing
• 9:07
  flight tests on Starship. This year, by the end of this
• 9:11
  year, they're going to, hopefully have three or four
• 9:12
  tests are going to do. Hover tests, they're going to do
• 9:15
  low altitude test as well. Mostly As far as we know, Boca
• 9:20
  Chica because they have the mark one there.
• 9:21
  The mark 2 is in Florida. So Starship will be, you know,
• 9:27
  doing some tests SpaceX Elon Musk will be doing some tests in
• 9:31
  those regions. There's a sample return Mission
• 9:35
  planned for 2030 as well from NASA.

  And you know we're probably going to have humans on Mars by
• 9:44
  2030. If all goes well we're going to
• 9:47
  also have humans on the face of the Moon by 2024.

  If NASA has anything to do with it, they have their Artemis
• 9:55
  program in the Artemis program will send the first woman in the
• 9:59
  next man to the surface of the Moon.

  And SpaceX could be a part of that and the fact that SpaceX is
• 10:08
  working on docking to Starships together because they have the
• 10:14
  technology that they've used that they've perfected for
• 10:17
  docking with the International Space Station.

  They're using that same technology to do a mid orbit
• 10:23
  refuel of Starship, which is absolutely insane.

  So that's another part. You have to refuel in orbit.

  It's dangerous. What if If something goes wrong
• 10:33
  and a Starship runs into the fuel tanker smashes and you
• 10:38
  know, there's a huge air leak and you get sucked out of the
• 10:43
  aircraft it's you we've all seen science fiction movies, this
• 10:46
  happens. So there's so many things that
• 10:48
  could go wrong on the way to Mars and we have to really worry
• 10:52
  about it before it actually starts happening.

  So the The analysts say Mars 2020 for, I don't think that's,

  I mean, it's possible. In my opinion, I think it's
• 11:09
  going to be more like twenty Twenty, Eight twenty 30, ish to
• 11:13
  get people back to Mars, but or get to get people to Mars, not
• 11:18
  back to Mars, but get people to the red planet.

  It's going to take a lot of effort, and it can take a lot of
• 11:24
  planning, and you can't just have a hundred people.

  Die in space it's just not good. SpaceX would cease to exist if
• 11:31
