Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: What has Hipkins and co. Got to hide over COVID?
- 0:04Speaker 1: Yesterday they wheeled out three excuses, not one, not two,
- 0:08Speaker 1: but three for not fronting up and answering questions about
- 0:11Speaker 1: why they went so hard on lockdowns and mandates, which
- 0:15Speaker 1: they then papered over with sixty six billion dollars in
- 0:18Speaker 1: spending second in the world only to the US, thereby
- 0:21Speaker 1: helping fuel the inflation that we're now paying the price
- 0:24Speaker 1: for taming. First excuse, we heard they wouldn't attend the
- 0:28Speaker 1: public hearing because they were worried about how the public
- 0:31Speaker 1: might react, that some might use their videos to spread misinformation.
- 0:37Speaker 1: The inquiry itself basically said that was nonsense. The public
- 0:40Speaker 1: interest in them appearing outweighed the risk of some nutter
- 0:44Speaker 1: altering their video and sharing it on Facebook. Number two,
- 0:47Speaker 1: we then had Hipkins front for a stand up with
- 0:50Speaker 1: another reason. I already answered these questions on a daily basis,
- 0:54Speaker 1: he said, which again makes no sense. If you were
- 0:57Speaker 1: worried about videos being doctored for misinformation and misinformation being spread,
- 1:03Speaker 1: would it not apply as much to those comments in
- 1:06Speaker 1: the media, which are of course videoed and published as
- 1:09Speaker 1: they would be to the video live stream from a
- 1:11Speaker 1: public inquiry. Three. Then there's the excuses provided to the
- 1:16Speaker 1: inquiry itself. They were worried about blowback from the public online,
- 1:21Speaker 1: that it might turn into some sort of witch hunt.
- 1:24Speaker 1: This is perhaps the most egregious and insulting excuse of
- 1:28Speaker 1: them all. During the COVID years, they were more than
- 1:31Speaker 1: happy to troll us members of the public from the
- 1:35Speaker 1: podium of truth. They were more than happy to engage
- 1:38Speaker 1: in a little witch hunting of their own. Bit Charlotte
- 1:40Speaker 1: Ballast the border crosses the River of filth. They used
- 1:44Speaker 1: the media to hammer their opponents as conspiracy theoris see
- 1:47Speaker 1: anyone who disagreed with them. They anointed many a public
- 1:51Speaker 1: enemy number one while they were in control of the narrative,
- 1:56Speaker 1: and that's really what this is about. Controlling the narrative,
- 2:00Speaker 1: the wall to wall coverage, the one PM podium sermons
- 2:04Speaker 1: cynically help secure them a historic majority in twenty twenty.
- 2:08Speaker 1: As the old saying goes, you can fall some of
- 2:11Speaker 1: the people all of the time, all of the people
- 2:14Speaker 1: some of the time, but you can't fool all of
- 2:16Speaker 1: the people all of the time. These guys know they've
- 2:20Speaker 1: been found out, most recently by that embarrassing Treasury report
- 2:24Speaker 1: and now that they can't control the narrative, it looks
- 2:27Speaker 1: like they're running for the hills. For more from Early
- 2:30Speaker 1: Edition with Ryan Bridge. Listen live to news Talks it'd
