- 0:06Hello. What's your least favorite scary
- 0:08movie? Love lives today.
- 0:13Welcome to. What's your least favorite scary
- 0:14movie? The podcasts, are we talked
- 0:16about the good, the bad, the ugly, and the Absurd, and all of
- 0:20our favorite and least, favorite, scary movies, because
- 0:22we believe evil dies tonight, evil dies tonight.
- 0:27I'm sorry. Even if we don't always get it.
- 0:30My name is Jesse, my name is Travis.
- 0:36I really wanted to end evil dies tonight.
- 0:38Chan going to open this thing that seems too easy.
- 0:42I know it seems easy but like, it deserves all of it, all of
- 0:47the shit that it gets. Well, we'll talk about that at
- 0:50length, I'm sure, yeah. Wow.
- 0:53That's the most interrupted intro that we've ever done.
- 0:59I'm sorry that I did that. It's fine.
- 1:01If you couldn't tell either by Travis has outbursts.
- 1:06Just or by the name of the episode you clicked on.
- 1:10I mean Brave. Yeah I've done.
- 1:12I've done that. Yeah.
- 1:14Today we're talking 2020 ones Halloween kills yeah.
- 1:19But first one quick announcement we had the numbers to be or not
- 1:24to be early because it's a busy month.
- 1:27Yeah, so that came out on Sunday Gingerdead Man.
- 1:30Yes. Lots of fun.
- 1:32Good. Yeah.
- 1:32I like that episode of what and I thought that that was a very
- 1:35fun. Discussion.
- 1:36So that's all I got to say about it.
- 1:38All right, what do you have to say about some polls Visa?
- 1:43Vie, The Shining? I don't know if I don't know
- 1:45what vis-à-vis means. No, I think they use that right.
- 1:49I'm not sure, but I know nothing about finish.
- 1:53I do have poll results. Okay, so for our shining
- 1:57episode, the pole is, how would you spend your time at the
- 2:01Overlook Hotel? Okay, on Instagram 29%.
- 2:06It ride their tracks around, okay?
- 2:0836% would have imaginary drinks at the bar.
- 2:11Okay 7% would do their husbands job, okay?
- 2:1629% would decompose in the bathtub.
- 2:19Okay, we take this over to Twitter there, we have 18
- 2:22percent, riding their tracks around 45% having imaginary
- 2:26drinks, 9%, doing their husbands job and 28% decomposing in the
- 2:32bathtub. Okay, I would Compose in the
- 2:36bathtub because that's how I felt this entire weekend.
- 2:39Yes, like I told you actually that I wanted to sit in the tub
- 2:43and die. Yeah.
- 2:44Because yeah, I told you to have at it and then you said you
- 2:47didn't feel like waiting for the hot water heater to.
- 2:49Yeah, I wasn't ready to die like hey, you know, I might sound a
- 2:55little bit but yeah, but yeah. I was Basic Moon.
- 3:07Okay. 60 but 62 me, which one would you do?
- 3:12Okay, well, I already told you that if we were in this
- 3:14scenario, that I would want us to throw our own ball, every
- 3:20Friday or every other Friday. Yeah, you did with different
- 3:24themes and whatnot. And so I guess the closest one
- 3:29to, that would be having imaginary drink at the bar.
- 3:31If you know, if I hadn't made that decompose comment or Or the
- 3:36dying in the tub, comment over the weekend.
- 3:37I probably would have chosen that too because I just seems
- 3:41like fun. He's like he's making his own
- 3:44fun, you know? I mean, it's ghosts, so he's not
- 3:46really making all this up and I also don't feel like it's fun,
- 3:49it's an imaginary because it's all real.
- 3:52I mean, yeah, everything you've said is just not correct.
- 3:56Mmm, yeah, you're right. I agree.
- 4:00Well, okay, there was at least one point where he was he's
- 4:04having a magistrate. Those aren't ghosts drinks.
- 4:07Those are imaginary. You was actually drunk.
- 4:10Was he? And the book you was oh, well,
- 4:13not in the movie, The Ghost gave him.
- 4:15A reward of a bottle of gin. Well, we've established that the
- 4:18movie and the book are very different.
- 4:20I think that the movie makes it to where he's not actually
- 4:23drunk, I'm just saying. All right, that's her pole.
- 4:28Okay, so let's talk about how we can kills know, okay?
- 4:33Now I know that this is a very, very divisive movie out out
- 4:36there, surprise surprise, that's kind of common for a lot of
- 4:39Halloween movies. But this one I feel like
- 4:42especially caught a lot of flak when it came out.
- 4:45All right. Well, this may be premiered
- 4:47September 8 2021 at the Venice. International Film Festival with
- 4:50a wide release of October 15th. That same year, we watched it on
- 4:54our 4K Blu-ray. Of course because Travis is a
- 4:57fanboy. It is available in the US, as of
- 5:01the time of this recording via streaming on HBO, Max who
- 5:04premium our YouTube TV Him or you can rent it through YouTube
- 5:07Vudu or prime written by David Gordon green, Danny McBride, and
- 5:12Scott teams with Credits, based on the character by for John
- 5:17Carpenter and Deborah Hill directed by David Gordon, Green
- 5:21music, by Cody Carpenter John Carpenter and Daniel a Davies
- 5:25special effects makeup. They were a lot of special
- 5:28effects makeup artist, so I wrote down the designer because
- 5:31that seemed that seems like the, the head Title, I guess.
- 5:36Yeah, Christopher Allen Nelson. You know, I think that these are
- 5:41all the same people that were on Halloween, 2018.
- 5:44Okay, I think so. These also, I'm very familiar.
- 5:46I know the music the Riders and all of that is all very much the
- 5:50same people. Well, the writers kind of mixed
- 5:54up between the trilogy as what I was fighting while I was really
- 5:57they bring in somebody different in the third one.
- 5:58I didn't think Scott teams within the first 10.
- 6:01Well maybe I'm wrong. Yeah I dunno.
- 6:03I mean I guess g and Danny McBride are those are To I think
- 6:06of because those were the two brainchild behind this Trilogy.
- 6:10So I give them most of the credit but then again, you know
- 6:13there I guess they do pull other people into I guess everybody
- 6:17deserves credit that worked on this.
- 6:19But yeah. Does it fit to I think of okay
- 6:23starring, Jamie Lee, Curtis is Laurie Strode.
- 6:26Judy Greer is Karen. Andy matichek as Alice I always
- 6:31think is I heard someone somewhere say yeah.
- 6:35Okay, I could know. It's one of those.
- 6:37I'm very often wrong. So, James Jude Courtney is the
- 6:41shape. Nick Castle is the shape and
- 6:44Aaron Armstrong as the shape. Yeah.
- 6:46Yeah. Yeah.
- 6:49I knew a different type of item for those.
- 6:51Yeah, Travis budget. Yeah.
- 6:56Oh yeah, this is like 15 20 20 million.
- 6:59They gave him a five million bump right there.
- 7:02Opening box office of 49 million with a A worldwide, gross of
- 7:06133, million. IMDb rating 5.5.
- 7:13That sounds pretty accurate. I was also going to say about
- 7:17the box office and all that this is like one of those movies.
- 7:21It was supposed to come out and 2020 and then they did a
- 7:25simultaneous theatrical and at home release for peacocks so
- 7:30that definitely probably cut into the budget or not the
- 7:33budget the gross. That's why I'm so impressed with
- 7:37how well it did. Well it came out in 2021.
- 7:40So there were still like I mean, covid is still very much a thing
- 7:45right now. Yeah, right.
- 7:46So 2021, I remember, we went to see it in theaters and that was
- 7:51sketchy. So super crowded and people were
- 7:53annoying. People are forgotten how to
- 7:54behave in public. Yeah, it was a terrible
- 7:57experience. We came home and we watched it
- 8:01on peacock. So they did get money that way
- 8:03from us too because oh yeah, you got a trail of.
- 8:05We did like one month of peacock, there were and then
- 8:08another like three months because I kept forgetting big,
- 8:09yeah, there are plenty of people that did both.
- 8:13It's just I know that that does because I do know people that
- 8:17did not go, see it in the theaters and show us to watch it
- 8:21at home instead, same as Halloween ends.
- 8:23I love a movie theater experience and I in no way want
- 8:28to see the theater die. I just also enjoy the option for
- 8:34streaming if it isn't like say smile.
- 8:36Yeah. Which ended up being a good
- 8:38movie. I liked it all.
- 8:39Yeah, I liked it a lot. I wouldn't have been mad if we'd
- 8:41seen it in theaters but just based off of previews neither of
- 8:44us was that interested? So streaming gives us the option
- 8:47C. That's one that I would have
- 8:49caved eventually had I not known that it was going to be on
- 8:53Paramount the following month but because it was kind of the
- 8:57same thing with Barbarian. I heard so many good things
- 8:59about smile and Like surprisingly good and but then I
- 9:04knew I was like, oh that's going to be a amount next month.
- 9:06I don't have to worry about it. Yeah.
- 9:07Barbarian like it's on streaming now but like I didn't know
- 9:11anything about it. I had to see that one.
- 9:13Yeah. The buzz around that one was too
- 9:15big, you're welcome? Yeah, yeah.
- 9:19I was the one that was like, hey there's a lot of buzz on this.
- 9:21Let's go watch it and you're like and then after his you like
- 9:26a different, kind of okay. Upholstery movies from 2021,
- 9:32they're all sequels. Hey, okay, I found a theme nice.
- 9:36Okay, cool. Which after the day I've had I
- 9:39almost said, fuck it to a theme and then I was just like, no,
- 9:42no, we're gonna do a themed proud of you.
- 9:44Good? Good job.
- 9:46So one of them Denton death, dun dun.
- 9:49Dun dun dun token saw Yes. Spiral weird fucking name for
- 9:54his song movie, right? It wants to be part of the
- 9:58series but it also wants to be its own thing.
- 10:00I It's something they try to think it was released May 14th.
- 10:052021, that was our first movie back in the theaters post covid.
- 10:09Was it really? Yeah, we went out with my mom.
- 10:12I remember like we all took a picture together and we were
- 10:14like, Yay, experience that had a budget of 20 million.
- 10:20So, same as this worldwide gross of 40 million.
- 10:24Well, that was so early, early, you know, like I met It's when
- 10:31things are just opening. People are still kind of me.
- 10:34It was also saw that we're big fans.
- 10:37That's the thing I could saw is usually big like not as big as
- 10:41Halloween. No, not anywhere near as big but
- 10:44like saw was a, it was an event every year, whatever it was
- 10:48really rolling. Yeah.
- 10:50I think the definitely lost Steam and like the black of any
- 10:55entries for like a couple of years.
- 10:57Definitely heard it. But, you know, I still expect
- 11:00saw him. Is it maybe the title was part
- 11:02of it because it's so different. You know, it has a 5 point 2 out
- 11:07of 10 on IMDb. Wow.
- 11:09Okay the other movie I pulled Paranormal Activity.
- 11:13Next kin, have yet to watch that released October 29th 2021.
- 11:19No box office figures available. Yeah.
- 11:22However 5.2 out of 10 and IMDb nice.
- 11:26Yeah, that went straight to the Paramount plus which I didn't
- 11:28realize at the time that I was pulling it for you then.
- 11:30No. Yeah, and then another movie we
- 11:33saw theaters the forever. Purge starring, mr.
- 11:37Home Depot himself, dude, that's like one of my favorite Purge
- 11:40movies. I liked it because of how
- 11:44obliquely realistic it is. If we were to have a perch
- 11:47there, would definitely be some people other than be like, you
- 11:50know what, we're just gonna keep keep doing it, doing it.
- 11:53Yeah, definitely. And we're going to make sure
- 11:55that, you know, we're explicitly racist.
- 11:58Hell yeah. That released July 2nd 2021 with
- 12:05a budget of 18 million dollars in a worldwide gross of 76
- 12:09million dollars. Wow, it did really well.
- 12:12Yeah, and it has a five point four out of ten on IMDb.
- 12:16Then all of these are like right in the middle and IMDb, I know
- 12:19and I didn't usually when we're pulling this, when we're pulling
- 12:23these things, we will search the year horror movies, in whatever
- 12:30year. And then whoever is getting
- 12:33whoever's doing the fact-finding will decide if they're going to
- 12:35have a theme or not to it sometimes it's hard.
- 12:38Yeah. And so you don't always
- 12:40necessarily even know if you're going to find box office
- 12:42numbers, before you start writing down and I the IMDb
- 12:47scores the last thing we pool so I had no clue that.
- 12:50It was all going to be this tight.
- 12:52It's I guess it just kind of speaks to sequels you know maybe
- 12:59not them. I don't know.
- 13:01Talk to that man. Is you Okay, I only have one tag
- 13:05lines. Only one tag on.
- 13:07Yeah, but guess what? It is evil dies tonight.
- 13:09Yeah, obviously I hate it as a tagline.
- 13:13Even if it wasn't repeated, too many times in the movie, I would
- 13:16still hate it as a tagline because evil doesn't die
- 13:20tonight. No, and when this movie was
- 13:23announced so was Halloween kills.
- 13:25So you already Nunes? Yeah, well, that's the other
- 13:29fucking thing to like, I don't know.
- 13:31Make the middle one a different name and then I make the end
- 13:34Halloween kills. I I will say the names of these
- 13:36movies are terrible here. Yeah.
- 13:38Like they mean Ralph the bat. It's just Halloween that's very
- 13:42confusing. I hate that trend of naming, a
- 13:45horror movie like reboot sequel after like having the same name.
- 13:50Five cream forever. Yeah, five cream should have
- 13:52been. Yeah.
- 13:54Yeah, Halloween kills. I mean, it's accurate because
- 13:57there's a lot of killing this Halloween.
- 14:01I mean. Yeah, okay.
- 14:04I don't have a ton of fun facts, that's okay.
- 14:06Because when I was trying to search this stuff, it was a lot
- 14:10of opinions on why this movie is terrible.
- 14:14Oh really, which I feel like is really harsh and we'll get into
- 14:17all of that, but it was just really hard to find like
- 14:19information. And instead, it was like, here's
- 14:21where David Gordon green messed up.
- 14:25So I've got the facts. I've got.
- 14:27Okay, well, I can maybe add things as we talked because one
- 14:31day when I work from home, I I had that the commentary for this
- 14:35playing. Okay.
- 14:36As I worked and it kind of like listen to like a podcast.
- 14:40Okay, so this cool, I got some information.
- 14:42So the original plan was to pitch two films back-to-back.
- 14:46This is for the original Halloween 2018.
- 14:48They were going to pitch to thumbs, that would be filmed and
- 14:51released back to back. And then they were like, well,
- 14:54let's see what the receptionist, the first one, learn from our
- 14:57mistakes there. Yada yada yada and that's what
- 15:01they ended up doing, okay. And then this was To be back to
- 15:04back which it kind of like started off that way.
- 15:08But then there was issues with covid and then the scheduling
- 15:10was an issue. Yeah.
- 15:11And they weren't entirely sure it was going to be a Trilogy
- 15:14until they sat down to map out the stories and realize that
- 15:17they had enough for a Trilogy. I think that more or less they
- 15:22had enough for two really long movies.
- 15:24Yeah, that's how I feel too. I feel like they did not need
- 15:27three movies for this or they needed it kind of feels like
- 15:33Like, you know, the old cliche of making a sign and you're
- 15:38trying to write happy birthday and you put way too much the
- 15:42beginning squish it all in at the end, I am so guilty of this.
- 15:47Yes. And that's what I feel.
- 15:48Like Halloween ends is, I feel like they could have see this
- 15:53did a little better. I mean, a lot of people say this
- 15:57and I will agree. This is very much like a middle
- 16:00movie in the trilogy where they don't.
- 16:03A lot that content I can happen. So they just kind of like
- 16:09basically just have like filler for like they just have kills,
- 16:12you know, it's like fill up the time.
- 16:14Here's the thing. You know what, they could have
- 16:16had in this movie, what Cory? Yeah, I agree.
- 16:20Like, if you had Corey in this right here on my, I feel like
- 16:23people would be about 22 percent less angry at Halloween ends.
- 16:29This is a, this is my first time I will our First time watching
- 16:34Halloween kills since aliens came out.
- 16:37Hmm. And it did having watched
- 16:41Halloween ins. I'm re-evaluating each movie
- 16:45differently because it feels a little bit different each time
- 16:48because of that. And I think that noticed about
- 16:53each movie now is that they each have like a different set of
- 16:59people that they focus on and it's just not Distant from each
- 17:05movie. Yeah.
- 17:06And this one has like some pointless things that don't get
- 17:10expanded on in the next movie either.
- 17:13And like, well, okay, we'll get into like, well, I guess we are
- 17:18in our no we're not. We're not.
- 17:21Did I say I was done. Oh shit.
- 17:23I'm sorry. No, no.
- 17:24Okay, I'll give these thoughts here in a little bit.
- 17:26Okay, I only have two more fun facts.
- 17:28Anyway. Okay, one of them is that Paul
- 17:30Rudd was approached to reprise Tommy.
- 17:33Boil. But is busy filming Ghostbusters
- 17:36afterlife, dude. So we could have potentially had
- 17:42Paul Rudd, return. I would have loved that.
- 17:45That would have been amazing. I might like Tommy a little bit
- 17:47better. If it's Paul Rudd, would have
- 17:49loved him carrying around like a little baby doll or something.
- 17:51Like I gotta ask he didn't get over the loss of babby about
- 17:56that babby. Yeah, you're right.
- 17:58Oh my God. Yeah, like, it's like Paul.
- 18:01That's not in this movie like that.
- 18:03Was the old Trilogy? We're not acknowledging those in
- 18:06this one. He's like, no.
- 18:06No. He definitely.
- 18:08Yeah. No, I'm keeping it.
- 18:12Like, he keeps a picture of Bobby and as wallet.
- 18:14Yeah. Like when he's onstage at the
- 18:17bar like he's like, this is baddy.
- 18:19Yeah. Picture of Danny and he came
- 18:25over to my house and played Gameboy for a little bit.
- 18:27He lived next door. Yeah it was a good memories.
- 18:31Can you imagine him though? Like playing the same role, same
- 18:35lines. You feel like it would have been
- 18:37better or worse. I am predisposed to love Paul
- 18:45Rudd, yes. As its most of the population.
- 18:48Very biased. So I do feel like he would have
- 18:51brought a different kind of energy.
- 18:53I think. What's his name, Anthony?
- 18:55Michael Hall. Yes, I think the I think he was
- 18:58coming in amongst the cast of Legacy characters, you know, I
- 19:04think he was already set up against him a little bit there
- 19:08and that guy is a, he Established actor to I'm not.
- 19:12Yeah. Earlier with his stuff and he
- 19:15does a good job, but I feel like his character is just so over
- 19:20the top, I mean, but if you think back to Tommy Doyle Allah
- 19:25curse of Michael myers.slc, very over-the-top in a different way.
- 19:31Yeah, I want that Tommy leading. Yeah, Bob.
- 19:35Yeah, that you have okay. They maybe would have rewrote
- 19:38and me. Okay.
- 19:39You just take yourself. Back to when he first started
- 19:42acting in Hollywood movies and I think it would have been, you
- 19:46know, we had this conversation when we talked about Halloween
- 19:486, where would you rather be stuck?
- 19:51Listening to Paul Rudd on the radio, or trapped in the bar
- 19:55with Anthony? Michael Hall.
- 19:57Yeah, you know, more probably we wholeheartedly agreed.
- 20:00We'd rather deal with Paul Rudd, absolutely.
- 20:02So you know, plug him in there. All right, I've got one more
- 20:07fun, fact. And this one is a Jesse cure it.
- 20:09In fact, Okay, so I decided I was going to count.
- 20:12How many times I heard evil dies tonight.
- 20:15Oh, you did. Okay?
- 20:17And here are my rules. I had to be able to audibly hear
- 20:21it. So if like, we went into Lori's
- 20:24hospital room and the crowd noises faded in the background
- 20:26to a point where it was just like I didn't count it, that's
- 20:31fair. The only time I would count it
- 20:33if it was an audible was if I clearly saw it on the captions.
- 20:37Okay, so that left me with a total of 99 evil dies, tonight's
- 20:42that feels weight lower because it doesn't really kick up until
- 20:48like the the third and final Act of the movie, the hospital
- 20:52because this is not the most repeated phrase until the final
- 20:57act. Before then before Little John
- 21:01Dies, Big John had been said more times than evil dies
- 21:05tonight that I believe, holy shit.
- 21:08I love that. That's should have been the tag.
- 21:10Fine. Big John Little John, no little
- 21:13John was only said, five times total.
- 21:15Yeah, little John love big John way.
- 21:17More than Biggs on love little John.
- 21:19Big John is kind of like a use house little bit too much like a
- 21:23goose. Don't think Big.
- 21:24John Big John. Oh my God.
- 21:27Where is he? Yeah, no he said Big John a
- 21:30total of 12 times which like I said by the time he died that
- 21:34was more times than evil dies tonight had been said, wow.
- 21:37So and then, you know they you know, Mob mentality at all over
- 21:42hadn't feel Memorial. So it's kicked it way up, but
- 21:46definitely that's where he goes into overdrive.
- 21:48Yeah, so those are Jesse fun facts and statistics for you
- 21:52tonight. I like it it was a very fun,
- 21:53one. Bad dude.
- 21:55I was just glad you didn't see my little tally marks on my
- 21:57pages, we were taking notes. No, I didn't.
- 22:01Well, I try to like steer clear of looking at that because I
- 22:03want all of it to be a surprise. All right Travis.
- 22:07Alright, bad. Ugly, absurd, and your score.
- 22:11Alrighty, so I'm of the camp that loves the Smoky, and I know
- 22:17that I'm like, a how we live today for you.
- 22:20Yes, it does. And forever for this movie.
- 22:24I least, this is the Halloween ins.
- 22:28Will that whole thing kind of like stained my appreciation for
- 22:34the first one a little bit, but this one right here, I
- 22:37appreciated it more as a result of watching.
- 22:40How Going ins because this movie is just like a fun slasher at
- 22:47its core. That's it.
- 22:49They just basically, they didn't really have much of a story.
- 22:53So they knew that they were basically going to, like, dump
- 22:55all that in the next one. But it's like, completely
- 22:58unrelated. So they just kind of like we're
- 23:01like, okay, we'll just have fun and kill.
- 23:03A lot of people do some cool set pieces and just chalk it up as a
- 23:08movie hour and 40 minutes, we'll be good.
- 23:10That's exactly what they did. I'm a happy camper.
- 23:12That's what I want. Okay, the bad.
- 23:16I will say that they do this thing where they bring back
- 23:20these Legacy actors. And I think that that's cool on
- 23:25like paper, I think I like the idea but I don't like that, they
- 23:29give them absolutely no purpose. They're there at the bar at the
- 23:32beginning to like, acknowledge it and then they all ride to the
- 23:36playground and get killed. I think it would have been fun
- 23:38to just leave it as there. All survivors of this bonding
- 23:42together annually getting drunk at a bar.
- 23:45Boom! That's it.
- 23:46That's all you see and maybe we see like Lonnie Elam Elam Elam
- 23:51Elam MMA, you know, because he's Cameron's, Dad yeah, though I
- 23:59kind of done completely without Cameron to.
- 24:01I know that would have been a loose end from the first one,
- 24:03but also like, I didn't still out.
- 24:05I didn't like the character retconning of him in this, when
- 24:08you try to make him a good guy. Yeah, that's you.
- 24:10Like really sucks in the first one.
- 24:12Yeah. Like okay whatever finish your
- 24:16thing and all. Okay.
- 24:17Yeah so I don't I don't really care for that.
- 24:20Just if you're gonna bring their do something interesting with
- 24:22them and they just kind of seemed like an afterthought, the
- 24:27ugly with this. I mean, I don't really know if I
- 24:32would say it's ugly but like I feel like with a lot of his
- 24:36stuff with this movie in the next one, some of the messages
- 24:39he's trying to get across Oscar's super ham-fisted like
- 24:43this one right here, mob mentality is dangerous, you
- 24:45know. Like everybody's getting it's
- 24:48kind of like to a cartoonish level with how they treated the
- 24:51whole mob and like chasing down the sky, that's clearly not
- 24:54Michael Myers and driving him to the point where he's like
- 24:58killing himself. But then again, there's like so
- 25:01much cartoonists in this movie that I kind of have to excuse it
- 25:05because Michael Myers and his Killing Spree is like incredibly
- 25:10cartoon. But that's why I love it.
- 25:13So I don't know, I'm kind of like not much trouble here, but
- 25:17I would say that if I had to and absurd, I will say, the little
- 25:26intro that we get to Big, John and little John, little dance
- 25:30sequence that we get from Little John Big John, dude, I love
- 25:35that. I love it too.
- 25:37It's amazing were several times like this Halloween season.
- 25:40Season where I'd feel like alone doing something and I didn't
- 25:43feel like a little dance to myself.
- 25:45Yeah, yeah. So that's my stuff.
- 25:50I'm going to rape this thing. Well, rated it a 9 out of 10.
- 25:56Oh boy. Oh boy, I love this movie.
- 26:00This is one of my favorite Halloween movies.
- 26:03Okay. All right.
- 26:05What do you think about it? I think that a solid 80% of this
- 26:12movie. does what a good Halloween movie should do, which
- 26:16is just Stalking /. That's what a fucking Halloween
- 26:22movie should be, at the end of the day.
- 26:24That's what the best ones are. I mean, obviously, the very
- 26:27first one was very suspenseful. This one doesn't have that same
- 26:31suspense, but it's just like, you know, it's you don't have to
- 26:37think too hard. There's not a lot of plot to get
- 26:39in the way of the story. Yeah, it's just Michael going on
- 26:42doing his thing. The bad, 20% of that comes from
- 26:48like, I don't even care about insane decisions.
- 26:50That's again, that's what a good Halloween movie is, is people
- 26:54making dumb decisions. You're like, what the fuck is up
- 26:57with that we've established that those dumb decisions are real?
- 27:00Because, yeah, I'd like same thing.
- 27:02I wanted to get mad at Sondra freezing at the door but like
- 27:05she forgot how the fucking lock worked.
- 27:07And she just said, okay guess I'm dying and then also her
- 27:10husband's like calling out to her.
- 27:12And she was like shit, five minutes ago, were going to eat
- 27:14Cheez-Its. Oh, Like yeah, you know, it's
- 27:19one of those that has just like you think about it and then you
- 27:21think about being in the situation and it seems a lot
- 27:27more realistic than yeah. It actually probably is no.
- 27:31The things I'm going to call out as not being realistic are going
- 27:33to be a lot of the hospital since, okay, I know the bad part
- 27:39of this movie to me is the dialogue and I here's the thing.
- 27:44So we're watching it. It and watching it with a
- 27:46critical eye, this time, I was able to pinpoint the exact
- 27:53moment that the movie got annoying to me.
- 27:56I made a note of it in my notes, okay.
- 27:58It's right when the dialogue started getting very preachy and
- 28:02very this is how humans speaks. Yeah, it just gets schmaltzy and
- 28:10like, kinda like. What else and ham-fisted.
- 28:13Yeah. Is it one of the parts were
- 28:15Warriors good. Yes, yes.
- 28:17I think I know I probably could tell you exactly when it is.
- 28:19Yeah, and right up until that, I was like, man, this movie if you
- 28:24cut it off right there, it would be a very solid Halloween movie.
- 28:28I've said, since the first time we watched it that I liked most
- 28:31of the movie but I could do with a lot of rewrites on the
- 28:34dialogue. Yeah you have.
- 28:36You said that like opening day? Yeah.
- 28:38And it hasn't changed. If anything I can give it a
- 28:42little bit more credit to a lot more of the movie because When
- 28:45I'm not taking notes, it just feels like it's all over the
- 28:47place. But when I'm taking notes from
- 28:49like, okay, well I've made it this far before I start getting
- 28:52annoyed by it. So, The ugly.
- 29:01I feel really bad when the other inmate is attacked and jumps.
- 29:09It's a very sad scene. Yeah, I get it.
- 29:12He's an inmate. We don't know his story.
- 29:15We don't know if he did. We don't know what he did, but
- 29:18he didn't deserve to die like that.
- 29:20That's not Justice. And he's sad and crying, and he
- 29:24came to the hospital because he wanted help.
- 29:26Yeah, poor guy, man, and I got some things to say about the
- 29:31stupidness of that to when we get closer to talking about, oh,
- 29:34there's so much absurdity with all that.
- 29:39Cameron, all of a sudden becoming a sympathetic figure.
- 29:46This is exactly how abusive relationships get perpetuated,
- 29:49because he was full-on cheating on Allison gaslighting, her
- 29:53about it, and then cutting her off from access to her family,
- 29:56by destroying her phone trying to isolate her.
- 30:00And then all of a sudden he's like, Does he even say?
- 30:05Sorry, he never says sorry. No, I don't think he does.
- 30:07He, he goes to the hospital and he's like, hey, come with me.
- 30:11We're going to go hunt Michael Myers and she's like, okay, I
- 30:14forgive you. That's, that's the Illinois
- 30:16apology. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 30:21I'm not there. There was a lot of discourse
- 30:23online about Big John, Little John.
- 30:25I don't feel like I'm very well equipped to speak on that.
- 30:29Yeah, I'm probably should not comment on that either.
- 30:33And I I thought that they were very Charming to watch on screen
- 30:40and it's a endeared themselves to me, but I do understand some
- 30:43of the criticisms that exist out there.
- 30:46And then the Absurd. Yeah.
- 30:52Okay, this isn't a fun absurd. I don't normally my absurds are
- 30:55fun. Yeah, Michael Myers is probably
- 30:57at his fucking meanest. In this movie, it's absurd
- 31:01levels of brutality. That's why I love it.
- 31:03Oh my God. He is.
- 31:05This is probably the most intimidating Michael Myers.
- 31:09It's just, it's vicious and it's not even vicious like you're in
- 31:12my way. So I'm going to kill you.
- 31:13It's like, I'm fucking pissed off and now it's your problem.
- 31:16It's um, I actually killed a fucking kid in this movie.
- 31:19I I haven't done that before I killed multiple kids in this
- 31:22movie. Yeah.
- 31:23So I'm going to use this dude to test knives.
- 31:28I love is so much, that's part of what I love about this movie.
- 31:31Okay, I'm sorry. You need to do your thing.
- 31:34So all that said I I do like it better than the first time I
- 31:39watched it. Okay.
- 31:41I still very much on my problems with it, so I'm going to start
- 31:44off with a 675. Okay, so that's not bad, that's
- 31:48so naughty good. It's not my least favorite by
- 31:51any stretch of the imagination. God, that's not math.
- 31:55I can do in my head. Oh, you did this to yourself.
- 31:57I know, I'm being honest, I'm not gonna give an easy score
- 32:03just so I can do easy. Mate.
- 32:04Well, why are you doing that? I'm just wanting to gush about
- 32:07how terrifying Michael isn't this movie.
- 32:10Because, like, that's some of the things that are lacking in
- 32:13some of the other Halloween movies, and that's what I love
- 32:16about this one so much is like, people think that Nothing
- 32:19happens and he's just like acting he's not stalking around
- 32:25as much as he does. In the other ones.
- 32:26He's like mostly just killing people Non-Stop and I love it
- 32:32because this is him Unleashed. He's had like 40 years to have
- 32:38this stuff pent up and now he's doing it.
- 32:41That would be a good title for this one, Halloween Unleashed.
- 32:46Oh yes. That would have been good.
- 32:48Okay. All right, you ready?
- 32:52Sorry, I'm ready to do this. All right, we start off.
- 32:55We're here in the voice-over clips from the 2018 movie, then
- 32:59we seek am calling Oscar unaware that he's a face kebab and then
- 33:05he sees Hawkins in the street and he goes sir.
- 33:08All right? No, actually because I'm dude,
- 33:10hey, dude, bra, which I don't, it's not the fact that he's an
- 33:13officer and he's calling him. Dude, it's the fact that he's
- 33:16almost dead and he's calling him.
- 33:18Like what if those were the Last Words talking to her you're like
- 33:22you just seeing the line. I was just like dude dude this
- 33:25is Kim's face. He's dresses that Bonnie from
- 33:27Bonnie and Clyde. I go oh my God.
- 33:30And then Hawkins of course has dramatic with everybody else has
- 33:34to be Haddonfield 1978. We see a flashback Hawkins is
- 33:41rookie. He is total Stormtrooper.
- 33:45Hmm he just he cannot the only time He can get a bullet to land
- 33:51is in his partner. Yeah.
- 33:53Okay. I will say, oh, well of this, I
- 33:56think some people are mixed on the flashback sequences, but I
- 34:00think that they do a good job. Making it look authentic without
- 34:03like retconning things from the yeah. 1978.
- 34:08I like it because there has always been that question of
- 34:12like, how did they get them? Because like at the end of the
- 34:14first one he disappeared but here, you know, we're seeing
- 34:18everything after that. It's really cool to have fill in
- 34:20the blanks. Yeah.
- 34:23And I do appreciate the cops, a Loomis shot him.
- 34:25A bunch of times. They didn't do a number to it.
- 34:27I like that. Yeah.
- 34:28Because like, it almost feels like a fucking, you know, we
- 34:31miss, because we missed. Like, and how we choose the guy
- 34:33shot him six times. So they talked about how Michael
- 34:40just used to stare at his sister's window at this town
- 34:43where nothing ever happens. And that's like, He was also 6.
- 34:49So first of all, yeah, well he would also pick the Wings off
- 34:53butterflies apparently, it's what he says, also hit that
- 34:58line, cool thing that I went from the commentary here when
- 35:02they have that overshot of like when he's like this boring town,
- 35:05you get to see all of hadn't filled.
- 35:07You see the radio tower and that's, you know, from Halloween
- 35:11ins. They added that in post because
- 35:14it was during covid and like he was working on This editing the
- 35:17entire time, any are a wrote Halloween Ends by then he's
- 35:19like, you know what, I'm going to put that in there for
- 35:21continuity, so yeah, it's not even actually in the shot, we
- 35:25cut to. It's a one.
- 35:28He's he's getting bullied. I I need I need movie bullies to
- 35:34start being a little better, a bullying.
- 35:36Yeah, I hate this little. He cries too much.
- 35:43Yeah, it's really bad. Oh, we're gonna stand in A
- 35:46triangle formation to the side of you and taunt.
- 35:50You like Lonnie could get away if you wanted 20 sketch an L is
- 35:54all night this time because like just an hour before, who misses
- 35:57another like hey Lonnie, get your ass away from there.
- 36:01Yeah, I heard that. That's the real continuity
- 36:04issue. I want to know is like to his
- 36:06friends, ditch him after that and then the mulaney's were
- 36:08like, he's weak. Yeah.
- 36:09They pick them or pick on the table.
- 36:13Yeah. Yeah.
- 36:14And then the cops come up. Tell them to Scram kids, there's
- 36:18a murderer on the loose. I like, man.
- 36:22There's anything you just imagine going out to kids and
- 36:24feel like you're gonna die tonight.
- 36:25Hey, there's a guy, he's about to kill you.
- 36:28You just drive? See, that's the thing.
- 36:30He doesn't even put them in the cop car.
- 36:31So yeah, I'll get you guys home. Safe is like good luck out
- 36:33there. So Lonnie starts walking down
- 36:38the sidewalk alone and once again is confronted with a bad
- 36:44guy, a just covers his face and then the cop You're like what is
- 36:47up with you kid? This is scary.
- 36:49The scene right here where my husband walking down the
- 36:51sidewalk soon. Yeah.
- 36:53So the cops but he begs the question.
- 36:57How long was Lonnie like curled over like that for the cops to
- 37:01have not seen Michael but Michael tooth decided to go
- 37:05along his way? Like okay?
- 37:06So let me tell you this movie does a thing where they lean
- 37:12more heavily into the supernatural aspect of Michael
- 37:15Myers compared to The other ones, and then completely undo
- 37:19it in the next movie. Yes.
- 37:21And this right here, kind of, kind of been totally, totally -
- 37:26totally, totally know like this right here.
- 37:30Like, I feel like it's explain because it's like, it happened
- 37:32in an instant, but I think they are writing this.
- 37:35They were like, he's still pretty Supernatural.
- 37:38I think that they were leaning more into that when they were
- 37:40writing Halloween kills, but I don't know.
- 37:44It felt instant to me. Maybe it's just editing.
- 37:45Maybe Were Meant to Not get it, I don't know, either way,
- 37:48Michael disappeared while he fucks off.
- 37:50And the cops, see that? It's the Myron house.
- 37:54So they go inside. The investigate McCabe gets
- 37:57attacked upstairs, Frank tries to shoot it.
- 38:00Michael, who is choking McCabe? And instead shoots McCabe in the
- 38:04neck, Michael fucks off downstairs and Frank shoots
- 38:09around him about 10 times. Yeah, yeah, Michael like, he's
- 38:14not even running he's walking casually down the Is and not
- 38:17getting here at all. This guy I mean Hawkins is like
- 38:20a Miss. He's a stormtrooper.
- 38:22Yeah. He just like this guy is not fit
- 38:25for this right here. He's like panicking and you can
- 38:28do anything. Yeah.
- 38:29But by then the cops and Loomis have surrounded the house and
- 38:34you the this is not like CGI effects.
- 38:41Ghost of Donald Pleasant. Donald Pleasence.
- 38:44This is a man and Very good prosthetic.
- 38:48Makeup with audio dubbing of somebody who does a decent
- 38:53Donald Pleasence. Yeah.
- 38:54Impersonation, he did. The recording for Donald
- 38:57Pleasence is sorely missed in the last movie with this one
- 39:01right here. I think that they were
- 39:01originally going to do the like the fake don't know like CGI of
- 39:07thing but they found a guy on set that already had a
- 39:10resemblance to Donald Pleasence or like let's just like put some
- 39:13makeup on him and he looks exactly like a i They thought
- 39:17they'd Leia Organa temps. REI all about the Star Wars
- 39:20references tonight. Oh oh yeah, yeah yeah, I thought
- 39:24that they did too but no, they didn't ya.
- 39:27Cut back to Halloween 2018. We're at a bar, Vanessa and
- 39:32Marcus. You might recognize them as the
- 39:34couple that lives down. The street, from the precocious
- 39:37baby city of the first movie. Yeah, they're yeah.
- 39:42They're dressed as a doctor and a nurse.
- 39:44Don't worry though. She's a Doctor he's a nurse.
- 39:48They just flipped flopped outfits for the night.
- 39:51Super Creative, super fun. I think it's funny.
- 39:55Like I mean like they're the they're each other's jobs for
- 39:58Halloween, I think it was kind of like a fun thing to do kind
- 40:02of if it wasn't playing so much into gender stereotypes, that
- 40:06they have each broken within their own field.
- 40:09I think that's kind of a joke that all right.
- 40:12It just annoys me. Okay, I'm annoyed by it.
- 40:15I mean, if there If they're having fun with it, good for
- 40:18them. It annoys, me personally.
- 40:20Okay, that's fair. So they're just trying to have a
- 40:23good time. Meanwhile, the PTSD crew behind
- 40:26them is being loud and then when Marcus asked them to please be
- 40:30quiet. Tommy Doyle says, hold on.
- 40:35Don't worry, I'm going to kill the mood hard right now.
- 40:38Yeah. Why do you like invite them up?
- 40:39It's like, hey, I used to give this guy shit and it's like he's
- 40:42about to invite him up for stand up in money or in times like,
- 40:45yeah, I know. Nah, fuck that.
- 40:46I wish I had done that at karaoke.
- 40:49This weekend was like, God up there instead of seeing them.
- 40:52Like I'm not going to sing for you guys tonight.
- 40:54He said I need to tell you about the Haddonfield Boogeyman.
- 40:57Scare fest next year. I'm gonna choose a song and I'm
- 41:01going to be like not cut that and I'm going to just like have
- 41:04them going to have it like a note cards.
- 41:06The whole monologue You're going to be out in the crowd and
- 41:09you're going to have like the cards, the cue cards and you're
- 41:12just going to be flipping through them for me while I read
- 41:13the speech. That's it.
- 41:15We're doing it. So yeah he like tells the story
- 41:20of how we 1978 you know they call him the boogeyman.
- 41:24He's super dramatic about it. I don't really care for this.
- 41:27I think it's kind of stupid and cringy.
- 41:29Here's the thing. They overuse the word Boogeyman
- 41:34in this movie part of what made it work in.
- 41:38The original is, it was coming from children throughout most of
- 41:42the movie. And then, at the end, when Lori
- 41:45is completely shell-shocked, has completely lost her footing and
- 41:51grounding in. What's real says it was that the
- 41:54boogeyman. It's this whole, like, reverting
- 41:57to being in a childlike State. I guess.
- 41:59It's a little bit more fair. R though, when it's coming from
- 42:02the child, that experienced it, you know, like maybe that's
- 42:05submitted the boogeyman. Being an actual figure is
- 42:08literally everybody throughout this whole movie is calling him
- 42:11the boogeyman. Yeah.
- 42:12Well, yeah, I know, but like, I don't know from him.
- 42:15I think it has more meaning compared to other people.
- 42:18Oh wow. It from him just saying So yeah,
- 42:25he does that next, we cut to worry, she worried allyce,
- 42:32Allison and care and they're in the back of the pickup truck at
- 42:34where we left in the last movie and the fire trucks drive by,
- 42:37and they're saying that a bird. I love this moment.
- 42:40Yeah, it this is the trailer for The when this came out.
- 42:44This is a great way to set it up.
- 42:46Actually this whole set piece. This scene is amazing.
- 42:49I fucking love it. Like I it's also kind of
- 42:53devastating, so the First Responders, get in there.
- 42:55They're doing their thing, right?
- 42:58And one of the firefighters falls through the floor and the
- 43:03weapons, case the weapons nobody suspected or he's undoing.
- 43:09She had all of this preparation and she didn't think that's how
- 43:12Michael saved himself. Has he hidden the weapons case?
- 43:14Yeah, it's so devastating, you know.
- 43:18Okay, in reality she would have one like he might be hiding.
- 43:23Hiding in the weapons case. But he would have died
- 43:26eventually in there that fire would have got him.
- 43:29Yeah. But the firefighters came in
- 43:31there and saved him just in time.
- 43:32He was just able to stay in there, long enough, I think
- 43:35that's actually a pretty, Michael gentlemen, way for him
- 43:39to survive that because I remember, when the original,
- 43:44when like first ended people were like, there's no way he's
- 43:47surviving, like the whole house is burning down, like, he can't
- 43:49get out of that. And then, here we go.
- 43:52We got an actual reason. Don't understand how he got up
- 43:55onto the second floor though, because one of the other
- 43:58firefighters came up because heat the one that fell had
- 44:02called out said, hey, I've fallen my Air Supply is
- 44:04compromised, so others came to help him out, and they don't
- 44:08realize that this man standing there just killed the
- 44:11firefighter. Okay.
- 44:12It's like, do they help him out thinking that they need to
- 44:14rescue him? And then he's like, papow.
- 44:16Well, I where he reaches down and like Michael, like grabs his
- 44:22hand, the gum like, come on. Up.
- 44:24I thought that the fire fire screamed because like that was
- 44:26Michael also getting him there too.
- 44:29So I don't know, either way it doesn't matter because it's so
- 44:32fucking cool. He steps outside the house and
- 44:34all the firefighters are shitting, their pants.
- 44:39Firefighters were so ready to assume the worst.
- 44:44Like I don't know. Not much time had passed from,
- 44:50you know, what happened in the first one, right?
- 44:52Yeah, like They just see this man.
- 44:55Come on, it's Halloween night. They see a man come out and
- 44:58masks and they like all right boys, get the saw blade.
- 45:01Overland everybody knows who Michael Myers is though, what if
- 45:06it's been like, another Ben tramer?
- 45:08Oh my God. You know what I mean?
- 45:10That we already have the fight. I was just thinking yeah like he
- 45:13could have just been Ben tramer just doing Ben tramer shit.
- 45:16She's like, oh sorry guys actually survived this Lori get
- 45:19me her business for 40 years. No like Like watching the scene
- 45:24again and seeing him just stand there with the like pick axe or
- 45:29whatever it is that he has, I would be shitting my pants too.
- 45:32It's an incredible shot. It's super scary.
- 45:34He's super intimidating here. But here's the thing too, though
- 45:37is that if the firefighters were ready to go hard at him?
- 45:41Why are they doing it one by one?
- 45:44That's the problem with all of the group.
- 45:46Every every fight in this whole movie.
- 45:49Yeah. Because nobody group attacked,
- 45:50oh, they group attack one time and it's successful.
- 45:53But Then like they don't learn from that pattern.
- 45:56They're just like okay, it was nice.
- 45:57We tried something new today guys.
- 45:59All right, well let's go back to the usual tomorrow.
- 46:02No, I like the immediate response that they're just take
- 46:06the fire hose soon and just like spray him as he's walking to you
- 46:10and you don't do anything else. You don't think any time along
- 46:14the way like maybe I should maybe try something different
- 46:17here to tell you would do like, try and spray people.
- 46:20Yeah. Yeah.
- 46:20That would be like, that would be effective on her.
- 46:23She like Nobody's. Yeah, I think that these are
- 46:27actually real firefighters, by the way.
- 46:29That's cool. Yeah, it is cool.
- 46:31So yeah, they have group attack them one by one and he
- 46:35Slaughters every single one of them fucking love it.
- 46:37It's a very re Trask fight. I saw the behind-the-scenes of
- 46:41how they choreographed us. I love stunt choreography.
- 46:46You need to watch it, man. James Jude.
- 46:48Courtney is a fucking beast. This guy's like, in a 60s and
- 46:51he's doing this shit. It's insane.
- 46:54Okay, so the steroids are at the ER Sheriff Brackett is now a
- 46:58security guard there and I was like I thought he moved to
- 47:01Florida and then I was like oh yeah different timeline.
- 47:03This guy is way too old to be like he's not going to secure
- 47:06shit. He's just sitting there like a
- 47:09fucking Humpty Dumpty. Yeah so brackets just sitting
- 47:13there. He's the head of security and of
- 47:14course he knows who Lori is when she wanders in carrot we cut to
- 47:21Karen crying because her husband's did Alison is
- 47:25completely in shock. And Lori has to go to emergency
- 47:30surgery because her outsides are hurt or her.
- 47:32Insides are her outsides right now.
- 47:34I think you said her outsides are hurt and I'm like yeah yeah
- 47:37also true. Also true.
- 47:40Yeah. And so I like that.
- 47:42They trashed. It's like they were trying to
- 47:46set it up later that she was going to need pain meds.
- 47:48Because I'm like, she's going to be pretty sore after this.
- 47:51Well, yeah. Yeah, doc, yeah, no fucking shit
- 47:55dude. You like not only has she been
- 47:57attacked by? You're cutting her wide open.
- 47:59You're cutting her more. Yeah, you're doing it worse.
- 48:04Supposed to be the opposite. No, make the hole smaller.
- 48:10Okay, so we cut to one of the more fun Side characters.
- 48:15In this movie, they're very brief, is Sondra and Phil, yes,
- 48:18I love worries neighbors. He thinks that his CPAP machine
- 48:25mask smells like his mother-in-law's cigarettes,
- 48:28which first of all, should you be sharing a CPAP machine?
- 48:31I don't feel like you should Jesse.
- 48:32I want At this to be us when we grow old, I want us to be
- 48:36drinking wine on my lifeline by then I don't know and flying
- 48:41drones around and be like, hey baby.
- 48:43You want to eat some cheese? Yeah, I like fuck.
- 48:46Yeah, dude, I feel like we're 60 percent of the way there, we're
- 48:50already. Yeah, I just got to get a drone
- 48:53and another box of Cheez-Its. No.
- 48:54You need to get another drone because you have one.
- 48:57And every time you've gotten a drone or a drone like toys, how
- 49:00you has taken it out? Pretty sure it got you.
- 49:03Bye-bye, Talia. It was a tiny enough.
- 49:07So yeah. They're just like getting drunk.
- 49:08Flying drones eating cheese. It's and a good time.
- 49:12And then the Drone goes into a room and then gets thrown back
- 49:15out of them, which that's a fun way to use, like a goofy little
- 49:19toy Super effectively and super creepily.
- 49:22Yes. And then yeah, Michael just
- 49:25kills Phil actually, it doesn't kill him right away.
- 49:28He stabs him a lot, Sondra is trying to get it out and fill is
- 49:32like desperately telling. Cassandra to get out.
- 49:34And I think that's what slows her down some, because she like
- 49:36grabs a knife. She goes to the door, she's
- 49:38shaking, she can't get the lock and she hit.
- 49:40Here's Phil telling her to run. Yeah, he is long gone at that
- 49:44point, like but I think there was a part of her like that was
- 49:47enough to just like make her freeze in the moment which is
- 49:50long enough for Michael to come up.
- 49:52Shatter a light bulb and stabbed her in the throat.
- 49:57This whole sequence. I'm surprised she survives I
- 49:59noticed because she's back in the next one.
- 50:02Yeah. And He goes and grabs Phil's
- 50:05body. I think he knew Sandra's alive.
- 50:08I think he did too. Like, it seems like he almost
- 50:10like propped her up in a way to where she has to watch this.
- 50:13Yeah. Yeah.
- 50:14It's because he brings fill in lays them on the kitchen island,
- 50:18like a slab of meat and then tests all the knives.
- 50:21And you know what? I'm calling shenanigans on this
- 50:23because if there's one thing Mikey Mike likes its knives, he
- 50:27didn't need to test these knives.
- 50:28He knew exactly which one you wanted, you know, which one he
- 50:31went. Was the butcher knife.
- 50:33Doesn't even test it. He describes his.
- 50:35Oh, yeah, there it is. Yeah, he's just like fuck this
- 50:37knife. Fuck this.
- 50:39Nice. Fuck this knife at your cool.
- 50:42I'm out, it took me like, at least like four watches of this
- 50:48movie to realize he was testing the knives.
- 50:51Like, when I first watched this, I thought he was just being
- 50:54Brutal by just being like, I'm going to fucking stab you over
- 50:57and over and over with a new knife and just leave them in
- 51:01there. I got, I just thought he was
- 51:02being like over the top. Top with it.
- 51:03I have to really fucked up product ideas that I would love
- 51:07to own one. Yeah, Phil, but your knife block
- 51:13another Fill pincushion. The knife block is better but I
- 51:22like the pin cushion to that's like more easily.
- 51:26Produced. Yeah.
- 51:27But also like people see that in your sewing kit and think it's a
- 51:30voodoo doll. Oh yeah.
- 51:32Be a problem. So that becomes problematic and
- 51:34I was back at the bar now why you get a call from NASA have
- 51:39decided that they're gonna be friends with them and buy them
- 51:41drinks? Oh yeah, yeah.
- 51:47Because I, yeah, we were out of line for telling you to be
- 51:50quiet. We were sorry.
- 51:52Yeah. No, you heard.
- 51:53He's a free pass to be an asshole.
- 51:55Just Because you have a troubled past.
- 51:57Yeah. And I like how notice them
- 51:59question it? Like no.
- 52:00No. I'm like, oh no.
- 52:01I'm is cool school. Like they're like?
- 52:02Yeah, yeah, yeah, sure. Buy me a drink, yeah.
- 52:04Lonnie's like please, I've got time to kill before I go drive
- 52:07my son and his girlfriend home from the dance, and Tommy's is
- 52:12no better. He does the same exact thing.
- 52:15But here, they get the new story that these people were broke
- 52:19out. That they hear the news story
- 52:22about the bus crash. They said there are two
- 52:24survivors We see the one shot of the guys.
- 52:30Do we ever get his name? I don't think we do.
- 52:33Okay. But okay here this is like this
- 52:36kind of just makes this whole thing at the hospital leaders.
- 52:39So fucking dumb because they get his picture there.
- 52:42So you know, that he's escaped immediately after that.
- 52:46You get Michael Myers, you get his face their argument later on
- 52:50when he's in the hospital is, he's always wearing a mask.
- 52:54We don't know what he looks like.
- 52:56Dude, it was on the fucking TV. When you saw that, this was
- 52:59happening. It's been like public knowledge
- 53:02for a long time. There's no way.
- 53:04People have not posted pictures of Michael Myers.
- 53:06So he's got his mug shot. You can pull that from like
- 53:08online. Also the dude, you killed was
- 53:11like, maybe my height. Yeah.
- 53:13And he Waddles yeah, like like that shit is not.
- 53:18That's not the build of a killer that's doing the shit that has
- 53:20been done. You know what I mean?
- 53:22This is the build of a killer Bella but then again, - tip
- 53:28book, he had Danny DeVito as the Penguin and he did some pretty
- 53:33fucked-up shit. This is about the point where I
- 53:35realized that there is way, like the cops of Haddonfield do not
- 53:41have enough bandwidth to address everything that's happening.
- 53:44And they are starting to realize this as well because they've got
- 53:49where Hawkins was attacked. They've got the fire going on at
- 53:54Lori. Strobes house.
- 53:55House. They've got Oscar has been found
- 53:58at some point. They had the crash scene there,
- 54:01thus they're starting to call in for reinforcements.
- 54:04Yeah. And I was just thinking about
- 54:06how insane a night, this would be for them.
- 54:08Like this, is it like it's awful.
- 54:10It's a small town like. Yeah, they're not gonna have a
- 54:12big police departments even in a big town, like this, like kind
- 54:15of mask scales. Yeah, free murdering is just
- 54:19stuff and this is where we get introduced to Big John and
- 54:22Little John and the three little shits.
- 54:25My favorite fairy tale. I want that to be a book these
- 54:32kids suck. It is there so cartoonishly
- 54:37snotty little kids? They are very over-the-top.
- 54:41They play this prank on them. Well, first off the intro, the
- 54:44Little John and Big John is incredible.
- 54:46I love it. But they pulled this prank on
- 54:48them where they knock on the door and they pretend that they
- 54:51were fed razor candy and then that their friend is outside and
- 54:55he's blue. Is in no way, disturbed by the
- 55:00fact that this girl says her sister got candy with a razor
- 55:04blade from their house. No, I was thinking of that one.
- 55:07He said that. Or when I was sad in the scene
- 55:10and I was thinking myself. Also, I would just not
- 55:15acknowledge that. I would try and take care of the
- 55:17immediate threat like to them and then after I have gotten you
- 55:22to the hospital and get you taken care of whisper.
- 55:25The way that wasn't me. Just like ghosts.
- 55:29Yeah, but no. So yeah, it's all there.
- 55:33Just so trick them into still more candy.
- 55:36Yeah. And this is where we also
- 55:38learned that they live in the Myers house.
- 55:41Oh, yeah. Yeah.
- 55:42Sleep in Judith. Myers room.
- 55:45And they've done a great job at making the Myers household,
- 55:48quick them ourselves from the original.
- 55:49Yeah. And not only that, but they've
- 55:51done some amazing Renovations here.
- 55:53All right. Like, I want to watch that HD.
- 55:55A TV episode would be amazing. It would be a special batch of
- 55:59fun. That would be like a such a fun
- 56:01feature at. They need to make Love It or
- 56:04List It the Myers house. They need to make an HD TV show
- 56:07where they Remodel and sell houses with tragic histories.
- 56:12That sounds fun in theory, but it would also become like
- 56:17quickly profiting off of tragedy.
- 56:20You're right. I like the idea of and not the
- 56:23practice of it. Yeah.
- 56:24Okay. So back at the hospital
- 56:26apparently we just put dead bodies on display where you can
- 56:30see him. Yeah.
- 56:31Because Alison staring at the very naked body of Sartain.
- 56:37Yeah Cyril window and this becomes a problem later because
- 56:42Oscars mom just sees his body that just won't smear.
- 56:46That's that's like a gut punch because it's in the chaos of all
- 56:50of like the what's happening? At the hospital where they're
- 56:54chasing the not Michael Myers around and then, by the way,
- 56:57your son's dead right here. Yeah, yeah.
- 57:02So yeah, yeah, she sees basically.
- 57:04They, they take Allison, and they interview her and there
- 57:09was, so certain was obsessed. It wasn't Michael.
- 57:12That was obsessed with getting back to Lori.
- 57:15He wanted to put them together. However, Karen's like know, he's
- 57:19been searching for her for 40 years.
- 57:21So, oh, Karen doesn't know the full story.
- 57:24They haven't had time to discuss any of this.
- 57:27No, it's been a very busy night. Yeah.
- 57:29And I like, how they're trying to drive in this thing that
- 57:32Michael isn't motivated to see a warrior.
- 57:34Like I feel like this is also been speaking to the fanbase
- 57:37like hey guys for this movie that's not the case.
- 57:40I also hate that though because of like what I said last month I
- 57:44feel like you always say all the time that it's a game for
- 57:48Michael. Yes, he likes playing with his
- 57:50victims and I think I like my head Canon, where he's just
- 57:55pissed off that Lori beat him. I would like to see a written
- 57:58that way, but it wasn't so, like everything leading up to.
- 58:03It wouldn't make sense. But yeah, no, I like that.
- 58:06I did too. And then they both learn.
- 58:08He's still alive and they are pissed.
- 58:11Yes. Cameron appears.
- 58:14And he says, hey want to go on some vigilante cruising and
- 58:18she's like, yes and Karen's like, Like no, you need to stay
- 58:23with your grandmother because Michaels coming for her.
- 58:27Also, the cops, you know, have a job to do.
- 58:30Karen is lawful good. Like she just she's like,
- 58:34listen, we tried to do her thing.
- 58:36We weren't successful. Let's let the professionals do
- 58:39their job, totally reasonable, totally reasonable.
- 58:43I like she's clink. Like she's been through so much
- 58:46therapy and she's trying so hard to stick to her reasonable.
- 58:52Like, she's just like, she's like, this is how the world is
- 58:55supposed to work. I have spent many years trying
- 58:58to understand that, this is how the world should work.
- 59:00And this is how people live safely in a society, and it's
- 59:04all been turned upside down for her tonight.
- 59:06Yeah. So yeah, they organized a search
- 59:10groups. We get a little thing here with
- 59:14Mary and Chambers to finding Luma saying she was right the
- 59:17entire time. It's a man with no soul
- 59:19whatever. I think it's funny that they
- 59:21have her. Like, sticking out from Loomis
- 59:23and you just, like, get somebody.
- 59:25That's actually, I know he's a good guy because like, and all
- 59:28the Halloween movies, everybody hates Gloom, this all the time.
- 59:32Like, I just want to know who is sitting there going.
- 59:35You know who we didn't hear enough of mr.
- 59:38Chambers Marion Chambers. Yeah, I know what.
- 59:42I just feel like they're like and these are the only people
- 59:44that said, yes, you know, like in here's the thing, it makes
- 59:50sense. When you look at it from The
- 59:52overall context of the franchise because Mary and Chambers does
- 59:56have a little bit more of a role in which one is H2O.
- 1:00:01She's in the opening of H2O. That's a, yeah, that's what I'm
- 1:00:05saying. That's what really makes her
- 1:00:06stand out to me, otherwise I'd completely forget about her from
- 1:00:09the first one. I always remember that because
- 1:00:11they do that thing. Where another thing that they do
- 1:00:15in this movie that don't really care for is that they make like
- 1:00:17very obvious, callbacks I guess, kind of just too obvious But
- 1:00:22they do that thing with her with the car later on.
- 1:00:25Yeah. So like they've, they're all
- 1:00:28splitting up there, either recruiting people or they're
- 1:00:31telling them to go. Hide Allison has snuck out.
- 1:00:33But not before leaving a bloody knife wrapped in a t-shirt.
- 1:00:36Under her grandmother's pillow seems like a not super safe
- 1:00:39thing. But who am I to judge?
- 1:00:43Lindsay. Tell us the three little shits
- 1:00:45to go home. Is that at the playground?
- 1:00:48Yeah. They're all their the
- 1:00:49playground. First of all this is creepy.
- 1:00:51You guys. Eight years old.
- 1:00:53Where are your parents? Oh, but the line.
- 1:00:55Yeah, but there's this guy with a white mask out.
- 1:00:58There are playing hide and seek and he's really bad.
- 1:01:00That's so fucking creepy. And then you will go out there
- 1:01:04and you see him just standing out in the woods and he's
- 1:01:06holding the mask of their friend?
- 1:01:09Yeah. Well, not the mask.
- 1:01:10I mean, I mean yes. But the head, it's just that
- 1:01:14that's so fucking creepy. This is really fucking dark.
- 1:01:18However, I would have loved him to have just stopped.
- 1:01:21Opt in the head of one of those children's.
- 1:01:23So because then it would look like it melted.
- 1:01:26Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know, I know that's dark.
- 1:01:30And I understand why they didn't necessarily want to go that
- 1:01:33direction, but I think that would have been a great call out
- 1:01:36Hollywood. Maybe don't hire us but Danny
- 1:01:41McBride. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:01:44You got your thing here so. Yeah, they they realized it's
- 1:01:49fucking Michael Myers. He goes over to the car, they
- 1:01:51do, the Govt. No, it's acting them one by one.
- 1:01:54He does that thing though. He does like jumps on the car on
- 1:01:57the roof of it. Like he did in the original with
- 1:01:59Mary and Chambers busted. Mm.
- 1:02:02She's out of bullets. Marcus tries to strangle him
- 1:02:08with a stethoscope but instead gets a knife to the face.
- 1:02:12Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:02:14And then while all this is happening, his wife who has the
- 1:02:17gun is outside the car not helping.
- 1:02:20What's everybody's dead? She's like.
- 1:02:21All right. Now I'm going to unload on
- 1:02:22Michael and then she like misses every single shot while he's
- 1:02:26sitting in the driver's seat and then he kicks open the door and
- 1:02:29it hits her hand, causing her to shoot herself.
- 1:02:32Yeah, it's a fucking scene, man. I will say they are at least
- 1:02:36creative with a lot of the kills in this Lindsay comes up.
- 1:02:39She has put some rocks in one of the Dead children's
- 1:02:42trick-or-treat, candy sacks and is beating Michael with it and
- 1:02:46that he gets in a punch. So she goes running.
- 1:02:49But you know what? Valiant effort Lindsay.
- 1:02:52Yeah, but she knows the task to or what she needs to do to get
- 1:02:56out of there. Basically, just try and take his
- 1:02:57mask off and you're free. Yeah, that's all you got to do.
- 1:02:59If you want to give away from Michael Myers back the hospital,
- 1:03:03Karen has found the note from Alison where she said she needed
- 1:03:06to take care of those species. Like, I love you.
- 1:03:09I love Dad. I love grandmother this needs to
- 1:03:11end, Georgia, Georgia! This is where she tells Loria
- 1:03:17that Michael is actually alive, and then Hawkins gets wheeled.
- 1:03:21Old in as Lori's new roomie. Yeah.
- 1:03:25So whiny finds Tommy pulled over by Lindsay's car.
- 1:03:30Tommy has found Lindsay's car. Lonnie sees Tommy pulled over
- 1:03:33and they all convene together that way.
- 1:03:35Yeah, also this is like a great part because the one he's
- 1:03:38talking to Allison's like. Yeah.
- 1:03:39Your dad used to sell me peyote. Yeah.
- 1:03:42To the last movie where he said that about why I love it.
- 1:03:46Yeah. And he's talking about getting
- 1:03:47high with her dad and she's just sobbing in the back.
- 1:03:50Yeah. So I I think we understand where
- 1:03:53Cameron got his emotional intelligence from yeah, back at
- 1:04:00the hospital. Lori is very unrealistic Lee
- 1:04:04laying on her side. Okay, listen.
- 1:04:08I had surgery part of the involving, the abdominal region,
- 1:04:14just a very like minor amount of it in the abdominal region, this
- 1:04:19summer, and it was planned and it was Was, you know, I mean, no
- 1:04:23surgery. So it was invasive, but it
- 1:04:25wasn't, like, I was stabbed, and then put back together in.
- 1:04:30I had to sit up clutching, a pillow to me.
- 1:04:33I couldn't lay on my side for probably a solid two months.
- 1:04:39Yeah, there's no way. Lori is just like like teenage
- 1:04:43girls at a slumber party. Well, head propped up on her
- 1:04:47elbow. Looking at hawkish, her Crush.
- 1:04:51Just got wheeled in and there is no amount of morphine.
- 1:04:56No, probably not but I like that.
- 1:05:00We get a little name drop of Ben tramer because they talked about
- 1:05:04their past and like they tried to kiss, he's like I knew you
- 1:05:07had the sweets for Ben. Tramer, yeah.
- 1:05:09That guy fucking blew up though so that didn't really that's not
- 1:05:13canon anymore. I'm going to make that kid.
- 1:05:16Ben tramer, still blue. Ben tramer is a cannon that the
- 1:05:20Halloween, The last movie ends with him right arriving at where
- 1:05:24his house and then he blows up and that's why it caught on fire
- 1:05:27there. Yeah.
- 1:05:31So this is where this is where the dialogue starts getting real
- 1:05:34bad. Yeah, I guess we're all preachy
- 1:05:35here. This is the exact moment of
- 1:05:38chaos starts in the hospital. This is where they started
- 1:05:40chanting evil dies tonight. So the whole town is at the
- 1:05:44hospital. They're either looking for loved
- 1:05:46ones that have been brought in there, or they themselves have
- 1:05:49been injured in some way, shape or form in the midst of all of
- 1:05:52this. This man that stole Marcus and
- 1:05:55Vanessa's car. We didn't even touch on that
- 1:05:57before but he stole Marcus and Vanessa's car while they were
- 1:06:00trying to Of the bar and that's what kind of got the whole mob
- 1:06:02thing started. Because they're like, Michael
- 1:06:04Myers is in the back of the car. He stole the car.
- 1:06:07This guy's acting very Michael Myers, Ash with that car,
- 1:06:10though. He turns on the headlights, he's
- 1:06:12like trying to fish for like a radio station while somebody
- 1:06:15with a bad as approaching him, and then he drives off, and then
- 1:06:18Rex it. Just gonna say it though.
- 1:06:20I think Michaels probably a better driver than that.
- 1:06:22I was about to say, like, this is realistic, like, that's why I
- 1:06:26goal should have been driving. This is breast, what?
- 1:06:29Yes, this is. How people.
- 1:06:30Who haven't been driving Drive? I like you know what, maybe
- 1:06:35that's what they were doing with other.
- 1:06:36Like here you go like yes, Michael did that shit because
- 1:06:40he's fucking amazing. That's why nobody questioned
- 1:06:42that it was Michael Myers because they're, like, yeah.
- 1:06:45It is not a dry. This totally checks out.
- 1:06:50But yeah, this man has wandered up because he's got some wounds
- 1:06:55and probably a concussion. He's scared, and he's scared,
- 1:06:59and he's sad. He's been in multiple vehicle
- 1:07:02accidents tonight? Yeah.
- 1:07:04Yes. He's had a rough night of the
- 1:07:07Zone. Yes.
- 1:07:08And he's. He's what?
- 1:07:13Help me. And then somebody goes, it's my
- 1:07:19evil Darkness tonight and then the war he gets all worked up.
- 1:07:23She grabs her some morphine or some shit and shoots it up or
- 1:07:26but this makes the pain go away. No.
- 1:07:30Do you think my Laurie Strode say that?
- 1:07:35This makes the pain go away? Yes, you think it's cringy?
- 1:07:38Yes, she's hi dude. She's already Ready on all kinds
- 1:07:42of other shit. And her mind that was like the
- 1:07:47most badass one liner and she's like, Hawkins is gonna fucking
- 1:07:51love this shit and then he is actually kind of like weirded
- 1:07:54out. The only part of it.
- 1:07:56He loved to see her, but while she shot herself.
- 1:07:59Yeah, he's a rude. So, yeah, there's a whole thing
- 1:08:05here where they chase them around the hospital Meanwhile,
- 1:08:10while this is happening, we cut back to Big John and Little John
- 1:08:14and they started getting a knock on the back door.
- 1:08:18They're having a moment where they're watching a movie and Big
- 1:08:22John is so not sober and then he starts getting sad and talking
- 1:08:28about his dead mom. And this is what I'm saying or
- 1:08:32like they are. Honestly, some of the most
- 1:08:34fleshed-out characters in this movie.
- 1:08:36You've gotten a very good idea of them as well.
- 1:08:39Big John, you've gotten a good idea of them of him as a person.
- 1:08:43Yeah. Yeah, I love them.
- 1:08:45Yeah, they're characters. But yeah, they get that.
- 1:08:47Then knock on the back door and then they go and look nobody's
- 1:08:50there, then they get a knock on the front door and then they go
- 1:08:53and look and nobody's there. And while that's happening, I
- 1:08:56think I was like little John, did you walk the back door and
- 1:08:58he goes back there to check and no he did not and also there's a
- 1:09:02blood print on the door frame somebody's inside the house,
- 1:09:05this shit is spooky and so big John.
- 1:09:08Picks up a cheese knife. Yes, I loved.
- 1:09:11I noticed this whenever I was really happy with myself when we
- 1:09:13were watching this in theaters, like big John has a little
- 1:09:16knife, Little John has Knife. I know I was so proud.
- 1:09:21I know it's so obvious. Everybody was probably saying
- 1:09:23the same thing to themselves but I was like I fucking got like
- 1:09:26one of those details. So yeah.
- 1:09:32Big drawing goes upstairs to try and find them.
- 1:09:38They killed. They both get killed.
- 1:09:40This is all being like, inner, Chi like spice.
- 1:09:43Like the Panic that's going on at the hospital.
- 1:09:45Yeah, both died. While this is happening.
- 1:09:49Worry, Little John gives kill. So Michael kills Big John.
- 1:09:54And then he has window time. Yes, Little John comes up there
- 1:09:57and interrupts window time and Michael cannot abide that.
- 1:10:02So he also gets kept. Yes.
- 1:10:06Karen and Lori are trying to tell the crowd that that is not
- 1:10:08Michael Myers. I fucking, I feel like if they
- 1:10:11should have listened to anybody, it should have been worried
- 1:10:14Warriors. Busy, while everybody is running
- 1:10:17the opposite direction. She grabs, Random dude, who is
- 1:10:20just kind of caught up in the wave of all this mess and grabs
- 1:10:24him, and knees him in the crotch for no reason in doing.
- 1:10:28So she tears open her stitches and is in incredible pain again.
- 1:10:32So she's incapacitated once again, because she had this
- 1:10:35little Outburst of violence, she needed to take it out on
- 1:10:38somebody. She didn't want her insides to
- 1:10:40be back on the outside. We already established that.
- 1:10:43That's painful. That's a bad way to do it.
- 1:10:46I felt very claustrophobic and this hole.
- 1:10:49The scene, I will say it was filmed very well.
- 1:10:51Yeah, the stairwell Karen getting pushed down.
- 1:10:54Even the sheriff is like caught up in the drama of it all.
- 1:10:58I can't I can't buy those like Karen and Tommy being on the
- 1:11:03opposite ends and she's mouthing and times.
- 1:11:06I can't, oh shit. I can feel like there's no way
- 1:11:10that's not gonna happen, but it's too late.
- 1:11:13The guy climbs out of the window and jumps to his death.
- 1:11:17Yeah, because there's no other way he's gonna beat Be torn
- 1:11:19apart by these people, if they get them scared.
- 1:11:21Again, I understand he's an inmate.
- 1:11:24That I don't think that, that means that he deserves.
- 1:11:26No, he's like and seeing somebody that scared before
- 1:11:29dying. Well, first, first of all, it's
- 1:11:31like mentally ill people at that facility, you know, so like this
- 1:11:35guy's just, yeah, so, yeah, he's dead.
- 1:11:37Everybody feels super bad because they realize that's not
- 1:11:40Michael Myers. You all probably should have
- 1:11:43been able to tell that when you saw him way before, he didn't
- 1:11:45need to see his brains out on the Pavement to be able to know
- 1:11:49that. Yeah, during all of this
- 1:11:52Hawkins, admits that he stopped anybody from shooting Michael
- 1:11:57Myers in 1978 because Hawkins, same concept is me like, yeah,
- 1:12:01he's a bad man. Did bad things.
- 1:12:03This is not how the law Works. He stopped luminous.
- 1:12:08Hawkins would have been a good stuff.
- 1:12:09Dad to Karen. Oh he would awful.
- 1:12:12Good lawful. Good.
- 1:12:13Stead. She got more shooting?
- 1:12:17Get anybody? I guess she got foster parents.
- 1:12:20Yeah, so, so the the crowd gathers around the pot.
- 1:12:31This whole scene goes on for so long to.
- 1:12:33It does is drag some jumping out the window, the dramatic music,
- 1:12:37and then they're around his body and a Tommy goes, well, how do
- 1:12:40we know it's not him? He's always been a mask, which
- 1:12:43is why I said before they had his fucking face on the TV.
- 1:12:46Yeah. How about also the fact that
- 1:12:48he's like, 55 a full like foot shorter than Michael Myers?
- 1:12:55I know age can like, take some inches off of you.
- 1:12:58But so, yeah, back in time we go back in time again.
- 1:13:07Yeah, Hawkins is store. He saves, he saves Michael from
- 1:13:11illumise illumise. I CAD Michael on the ground.
- 1:13:13They're ready to shoot him. They create this whole story,
- 1:13:17basically, that Michael cause the guy to shoot himself or
- 1:13:23something, cause I'm the fire on himself and then like, Hawkins
- 1:13:26is safe. Yeah.
- 1:13:29This is where Frank tells Lori. That.
- 1:13:32Michael coming back is not about her for the.
- 1:13:34This is Sartain doing this. Yeah.
- 1:13:38Lonnie Cameron Allison figure out Michaels trajectory going
- 1:13:41towards the Meijer has house. Which duh.
- 1:13:45That's where he always goes. He just wants to fucking go home
- 1:13:48the night. He came home.
- 1:13:50Yes. Well, yeah, it makes sense for
- 1:13:53that to be the case but then they don't really do anything
- 1:13:55with that Waiter on like a next movie.
- 1:13:58Like this whole movie focuses on him, going up to that room and
- 1:14:01then looking out the window all the time and then he like gets
- 1:14:05its fill in this movie is like I am done.
- 1:14:07I've had fun with us but yeah, they know have to go there.
- 1:14:11Yeah. So Lonnie sobers up the second.
- 1:14:14He pulls outside of the house and he goes, oh, you dummy.
- 1:14:18You think I'm a bad dad? Why did I bring my son here?
- 1:14:20Bad set. The headband said he's like I'm
- 1:14:25gonna go in by myself and then he goes in and within five
- 1:14:28seconds of him stepping in there is you hear a gunshot which I'm
- 1:14:34sure it's Lonnie shooting at Michael, but I like You imagine
- 1:14:38that, like the one time we get Michael just shooting a gun.
- 1:14:41It's off-screen. Yeah.
- 1:14:44So Cameron and Allison obviously decide to run in there.
- 1:14:48Yeah. And then they investigate, they
- 1:14:51split up. Cameron sees one, he's body up
- 1:14:55from like the crawl space or the attic upstairs.
- 1:14:58Crawl. Space design across space in the
- 1:15:00Attic. So, yeah, panel access panel.
- 1:15:03That's it. We've got one of those.
- 1:15:04We do. You should know the word.
- 1:15:06Yes. And when he sees that Michael
- 1:15:09burst out of the closet and fucking Rex Cameron, shit.
- 1:15:14Yeah. And like, this is again, this is
- 1:15:17where it comes back to him being mean because Allison's up there
- 1:15:21and she tries to kind of stop it.
- 1:15:22Michael throws her down the stairs or after she got in a few
- 1:15:28good step. So it's just like, she's like a
- 1:15:30bunch of Shanks. Yeah, it's become.
- 1:15:33The American Dad episode were the principal.
- 1:15:37Prison wife out of prison and he's like that's awesome.
- 1:15:41Yeah, yeah, it's like that energy for sure.
- 1:15:45So yeah, throws her down the stairs and then he takes Cameron
- 1:15:48and then throw some through one of the banisters and then takes
- 1:15:52his head and throws it in every direction against the banisters
- 1:15:55and the fucking stairs. He plays pinball with Cameron's
- 1:15:59brain inside of his skull and breathe my lessons down there
- 1:16:02and she's like, come get me motherfucker and Michael's like,
- 1:16:06hold on, hold on. Yeah.
- 1:16:07He walks around the staircase and he pauses halfway down.
- 1:16:12It looks like Cameron looks valise and likes it Cameron
- 1:16:15likes it. I will send it very much.
- 1:16:16The energy of tally about to do something.
- 1:16:18She knows she's not supposed yeah and then he just turns
- 1:16:22Cameron's neck, a full 180 degrees so good.
- 1:16:28His movement. His mannerisms, as Michael are
- 1:16:31amazing. James Jude, Courtney fucking
- 1:16:34rules. So yeah, he goes down there and
- 1:16:38he has Allison cornered and she's like, do it.
- 1:16:40But then you realize she's talking to care and I guess who
- 1:16:44has a pitchfork and stabs Michael in the back with it.
- 1:16:49And then he falls against the stairs, okay?
- 1:16:52She curb stomp, some basically and rips off his mask and uses
- 1:16:57it as bait to lure him out. The streets.
- 1:17:00And when she does that, she does her famous phrase.
- 1:17:03Gotcha. And then it turns out that
- 1:17:05there's like, a whole mob of people.
- 1:17:07They're ready to attack Michael. Yes.
- 1:17:09And then we get a lorry voiceover as the whole crowd is
- 1:17:13attacking. And right as she plentiful
- 1:17:17Kate's about, you know, evil winning and we became the
- 1:17:21monsters and evil will always win.
- 1:17:23As long as you know, whatever blah blah blah blah blah,
- 1:17:26Michael stands up, put the masks on On and then just like reverse
- 1:17:30into knows all of the damage that happened to him know.
- 1:17:32He had the mask on before I love that whole shot because like
- 1:17:37right there all have him surrounded and he's like all
- 1:17:39right let me suit up first then he puts on a mask and then they
- 1:17:42all beat the shit out of them and then yeah.
- 1:17:45They like shoot him several times like stabbed him like
- 1:17:48baseball bats. All kinds of shit and then write
- 1:17:52wooden brackets about to shoot him.
- 1:17:53He like grabs his knife and then foom so Isis him And he, he just
- 1:18:01kills them all. Like it's not believable, but
- 1:18:03they all go and attack one at time.
- 1:18:05So I guess it kind of is, but this is like a thing.
- 1:18:09I don't know if this is what they were going for, but with
- 1:18:11all the dialogue and everything to they try and make it seem as
- 1:18:13if he is gaining Power by killing people.
- 1:18:16Right? Because she says, right here,
- 1:18:18each time, he kills he transcends.
- 1:18:20Yeah. And that's why it makes it seem
- 1:18:23because it looks like he's like gaining his health back with
- 1:18:25each kill and Yeah. So he Slaughters them all.
- 1:18:30And then at the end of that speech, Karen is back at the
- 1:18:34house and decides to go to Judith's room to look out the
- 1:18:37window, for whatever reason. I really think, I really think
- 1:18:44it's because Karen has been having this.
- 1:18:46I'm trying to like Find meaning in what why she did this?
- 1:18:50No and I think it's because Karen has been struggling with
- 1:18:53this whole like this is the way the world is supposed to be
- 1:18:56versus. This is the way the world is.
- 1:18:58Is and I think there's a part of her that just wants to
- 1:19:02understand Michael a little bit better after everything that
- 1:19:04happened that night. So she just wants to go up and
- 1:19:06look out the window and see if she can You know, understand if
- 1:19:12he was looking out, or if he was looking back in, that's what
- 1:19:15they try and say they try and say that he was looking at his
- 1:19:17reflection, but why does it have to be that window, right?
- 1:19:21I could just find a mirror, cool.
- 1:19:23I asked Zoe, I'm just saying, like they've built up this
- 1:19:28window as having some sort of importance and and the in, it
- 1:19:33doesn't amount to anything, it's stupid.
- 1:19:35Yeah, it is. That kind of pissed me off
- 1:19:37because I thought it was Going to mean something overall with a
- 1:19:41whole story, but it doesn't, it ends with this movie.
- 1:19:44But, yeah, she's up there, looking at it and Michael
- 1:19:46appears, he snuck past everybody and goes in there and kills her.
- 1:19:50Now, if you have the Blu-ray, yeah.
- 1:19:55You get what they pitch is, an alternate ending, but it is
- 1:19:58really just an extended ending. I like to sending much better.
- 1:20:02Yes. Okay, go ahead and explain it.
- 1:20:04So in the original, she's just dies there and that's it.
- 1:20:07Yeah. But in the extended Ending she
- 1:20:10dies, and she was also talking with worry on the phone after a
- 1:20:15certain point and Lori. Here's her story, isn't just
- 1:20:20doing a voice over Laurie. Had been like, trying to talk to
- 1:20:22Karen. Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 1:20:23So she's talking to Karen on the phone and then Karen gets
- 1:20:26killed, or he can hear it and then, Michael picks up the phone
- 1:20:29and it's like a call back to the original whenever he killed
- 1:20:33Linda and picks up the phone. And, but this time we Is this
- 1:20:39that Michael got her and then she's like, I'm coming for you
- 1:20:43and when we watch that, we're like, why was this?
- 1:20:46Not the theatrical ending? I know.
- 1:20:48It's so much better, but then at the same time, I'm like, oh
- 1:20:51yeah, they abort this next movie because she's like, yeah, I'm
- 1:20:56gonna settle down and bake. Pumpkin pies.
- 1:20:58Now on Halloween, Michael Myers still out there.
- 1:21:01Oh okay. I don't care.
- 1:21:03Whatever. You know, he'll find me, he's
- 1:21:05got my information. It's just stupid like they just
- 1:21:12aborted this whole thing here. Like I loved the making of what
- 1:21:16they had going with this movie here and it bums me out so hard
- 1:21:20that they just don't follow through.
- 1:21:22Yeah but that's this movie that's the end of this movie.
- 1:21:25So how do you feel having talked about it all that much better?
- 1:21:29Not that much worse. I mean, it's fun at points and
- 1:21:34it's incredibly stupid at points but not in a way, that's fun.
- 1:21:38Okay, so the fun in the stupid. I feel like should always go
- 1:21:40together. Okay.
- 1:21:41I think that this is stupid fun personally.
- 1:21:44Alright, like, I think it's stupid and it's fun, but I don't
- 1:21:47think it's stupid fun. Okay.
- 1:21:48So you keeping it the same? Yeah.
- 1:21:50Okay. I think I would definitely have
- 1:21:53two. Major changes one is like with
- 1:21:55the fucking dialogue. Yeah, and then, like, the whole
- 1:21:58window thing, I know, I hate that because, like, it's
- 1:22:01supposed to be so big but they're like.
- 1:22:03Nah, nah, Cory. Okay, I am bumping Minds at
- 1:22:129.25, really? Yes, I fucking love this movie
- 1:22:16and having like, out of this whole trilogy, this is my
- 1:22:20favorite right here. This one is just so fun.
- 1:22:24I wish that they'd built off of this and like, kept it, but they
- 1:22:29don't. I mean, it plays into the first
- 1:22:32one, kind of like the original Halloween tooted, which I like
- 1:22:36that a while. So it's just Like you don't have
- 1:22:40to have any of the setup you are in the middle of the story,
- 1:22:44right away? There's like nothing that Boggs
- 1:22:47it down honestly other than the hospital scenes, it's just pure
- 1:22:51fun, high body, count, inventive, kills.
- 1:22:54Michael is fucking intimidating this entire time.
- 1:22:58If they had just let it be dumb fun.
- 1:23:01Instead of trying to give it deeper meeting, I hate that.
- 1:23:04It would be so much better. Yeah, I hate that.
- 1:23:07They like him fist the meaning. That's that's my issue with
- 1:23:11David Gordon green. If he's got a message he does
- 1:23:14not he didn't take any time misinterpreted.
- 1:23:16Yeah. It's a very bad part of his
- 1:23:23storytelling taleo. Slept the entire time hard core
- 1:23:28work. So I think maybe she kind of
- 1:23:32leans more with me. I think most going to give us 6,
- 1:23:36you know, I'll accept 26 from Talia and Zoe did not watch a
- 1:23:40minute of this. No, she was not in the room at
- 1:23:42all and like, a whole house burns down the whole house been
- 1:23:46Tremors and she just did not. She's like, I saw it on the
- 1:23:49first one and has more interesting that way.
- 1:23:52Is he okay, who did you relate to?
- 1:23:57I relate to To Big John because I just want to like party on
- 1:24:04Halloween and just like watch movies and dance to music and
- 1:24:09just have a good time. It sounds like our time at scare
- 1:24:11fest and our movie marathons here, you know.
- 1:24:14Just like, that's what we all want to be on Halloween if you,
- 1:24:18when you're an adult. Yeah, obey, you maybe, honestly,
- 1:24:21I probably relate to Marcus because a, he keeps forgetting
- 1:24:24his fucking stethoscope and I'm always leaving shit behind and
- 1:24:28be like he's made. Friends at the bar and is buying
- 1:24:31them drinks and I occasionally like I definitely love making
- 1:24:35new friends in the bar and sometimes I will get a generous
- 1:24:38with buying rounds of shots. Okay?
- 1:24:40Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's why.
- 1:24:43I was also going to accept the Lori for the pain of surgery.
- 1:24:47No. Other you guys?
- 1:24:50Yeah. Apparently I'm like way weaker
- 1:24:52than her. Yeah.
- 1:24:54Okay. If you had a tagline for this
- 1:24:58episode, What would You be? What would it be?
- 1:25:02I've got one. You got one?
- 1:25:04Yeah. Okay.
- 1:25:04What you got the night? He got a home, renovation loan,
- 1:25:09the night. He got home Innovation.
- 1:25:11One shot a call back to like the night.
- 1:25:14He came home. Okay.
- 1:25:18You know what, I feel like you kind of have to play off of
- 1:25:22that, you kind of have to do that.
- 1:25:25It's hard to come up with a good tagline.
- 1:25:27Off the top of your head, you know what I mean?
- 1:25:29Maybe, Are learning that we're Hypocrites.
- 1:25:31Yeah, well we're not like on the spot podcast.
- 1:25:35Trying to come up with a like, boom the night.
- 1:25:37He spooked a bunch of kids. The night he learned his home
- 1:25:43was sold the night. He actually killed the kid.
- 1:25:49Can you imagine if that's like on the poster like the night, he
- 1:25:51actually killed a kid. Like, what the fuck?
- 1:25:53What the fuck are they doing with?
- 1:25:54How we the night? Michael Myers, terrible awful,
- 1:25:58no good. Very bad day.
- 1:26:00Yes. Okay.
- 1:26:04Okay, I have ever reveal. Yeah.
- 1:26:07Okay this is a Critic review. I hope it's positive from Roger.
- 1:26:11No, I know that you love this movie.
- 1:26:14So I wanted to give you something to try and actually
- 1:26:16case into you and think about, but I feel like the like
- 1:26:21everything out there is overwhelmingly - that's not how
- 1:26:24this goes fine from Roger, Ebert.com.
- 1:26:28Been to Larrick. Bryant Alaric.
- 1:26:30Oh Ben tramer on the - yeah. Definitely.
- 1:26:34Well BT, you know they gave it a two-star rating out of I think
- 1:26:415. Yeah.
- 1:26:42Okay. So terrible I created this film
- 1:26:48buddies. Its entire concept of the
- 1:26:49bizarre, unrefined commentary on Mob mentality.
- 1:26:52That is quite simply some of the worst material in either greens
- 1:26:55career and the history of this Rocky franchise which is saying
- 1:26:58something. If You've seen say Halloween 53
- 1:27:01Revenge of Michael Myers. Rude.
- 1:27:03Wow. Yeah I don't like this guy.
- 1:27:07It's a shame too because once again there are set pieces that
- 1:27:10work and the ones here are particularly brutal but can't be
- 1:27:14dialogue. That calls attention to itself
- 1:27:15too much fan service. In the references.
- 1:27:17Department sidelining Laurie, Strode herself, for most of the
- 1:27:20project and truly inconsistent characters lead to a final
- 1:27:23result that definitely doesn't kill it.
- 1:27:25Barely even wounds people like I think that that's the first
- 1:27:31thing, these people, right? And I like, how do I build off
- 1:27:33of this? I've got a good pun.
- 1:27:35Where do I go from? Yeah, I mean, I get it.
- 1:27:40I do think that is. I mean, for fans of the series,
- 1:27:44like, the references are cool, but I think if they're done like
- 1:27:47sparingly and well like smart. I think it's even better.
- 1:27:50Some of these were just kind of, like, Blaine them.
- 1:27:52Like, okay. I get it.
- 1:27:54The Slumber Party Massacre remake that was a good way to do
- 1:27:57it. Yeah.
- 1:27:58It was a really good way to do it.
- 1:27:59Yeah. One is a little bit too blatant
- 1:28:00with its references cheesy dialogue.
- 1:28:03I don't mind, but I know that's a big thing for you.
- 1:28:07I don't care about like, if it's going to be cheesy dialogue,
- 1:28:10like it needs to be done in a way that recognizes its cheesy.
- 1:28:14This just feels, it does feel very preachy.
- 1:28:17Yeah. It's like it's very much.
- 1:28:20I smell my own farts like every saucer own farts.
- 1:28:23Yeah. Yes.
- 1:28:24She is all about her farts in this movie.
- 1:28:26So like if you're going to have dumb dialogue, Just dumb
- 1:28:30dialogue. Punch it up.
- 1:28:31Some that's true. I agree with that 100% but again
- 1:28:35I'm a person that enjoys when Camp recognizes its Camp I do
- 1:28:40too, but okay. All right.
- 1:28:44Well, I've got some listen to reviews.
- 1:28:46Okay. So let's start off with our
- 1:28:48wound Twitter review, which is from awkwardly, boobs.
- 1:28:52And boy, did he have things to say about this one?
- 1:28:55I really thought he was just going to leave it at the GIF.
- 1:28:58Yeah, just nope. Nope.
- 1:29:02Okay. So his starts off, so,
- 1:29:05personally, I would love to say that I hate this fucking movie,
- 1:29:08but my adoration for Michael Myers in the franchise, simply
- 1:29:11won't allow me to. So, I'll just say, I really,
- 1:29:13really dislike this awful dumpster fire of a movie from
- 1:29:17the stupidest people dying from or dying.
- 1:29:19Some dumbass deaths to the fucking nerd from Breakfast,
- 1:29:23Club amassing hysteria among all of the simpletons of the Town
- 1:29:26into a raging mob. Chanting the most annoying
- 1:29:29fucking chin. This movie, just pissed me off
- 1:29:31and I was excited for it to the worst for me though.
- 1:29:35Was how they just all of a sudden or how all of a sudden
- 1:29:38they just turned Michael Myers into fucking Jason.
- 1:29:41So he's like fucking Supernatural.
- 1:29:42Now the fuck. How did this happen then?
- 1:29:45You've got the fucking firefighter Massacre.
- 1:29:47Yo, is he Jason or motherfucking John Wick?
- 1:29:50What the fuck? Boobs, watch your fucking mouth.
- 1:29:55No, I, yes, no II enjoy this. Even though I love this movie, I
- 1:30:00like the passion from this. So I very much appreciate that.
- 1:30:05That I get the he kind of turns into an action movie star with
- 1:30:08all these those are very much action movie sequences where
- 1:30:11it's like, okay, you attack now, you attack.
- 1:30:13Now you attack one by one, but I love it.
- 1:30:16I just fucking love it. I love that firefighter seen so
- 1:30:19much, it's so cool. This is set piece of a burning
- 1:30:22building in the background while all that's going on.
- 1:30:26Toasty, toasty. All right.
- 1:30:30Next up. We have our Instagram reviews,
- 1:30:33so First we have horror fan 1992.
- 1:30:36He says I enjoyed it. Didn't love it though.
- 1:30:39Definitely better than ends. Okay.
- 1:30:42Oh, hell yeah. Next up, Michael Lee Howard
- 1:30:46says, Halloween kills takes the final Halloween Trilogy, to the
- 1:30:50next level. Bring back even more Legacy.
- 1:30:53Characters helped make the story better.
- 1:30:56The only criticism I have is the mob scenes, make this movie's
- 1:31:00pacing a little clunky. Overall, a great second Arc
- 1:31:03movie, so not in. Okay.
- 1:31:06And the final one we have from Tucker, he says evil in fact did
- 1:31:11not die tonight. Right 2 out of 10.
- 1:31:14Okay, I liked it. I liked that review.
- 1:31:20Yeah, my overall like it's a movie that it doesn't.
- 1:31:24I don't feel like it really had a point other than to be a Gore
- 1:31:27Fest so long as it's just fun, that's what I want.
- 1:31:31I don't need Halloween that have like, this deep story or deep
- 1:31:34meaning, you know, if you can Do it in a way that's actually
- 1:31:37compelling and keeps like the core of the franchise intact and
- 1:31:40I'm all about it. I give it a shot.
- 1:31:42But if you're also going to just do a movie with that is balls to
- 1:31:47the wall non-stop action, and Gore and kill those fucking love
- 1:31:51that suit. All right.
- 1:31:53All right okay no dream sequel. Since this is a franchise so we
- 1:31:59only have one more left guys until they release another one
- 1:32:03if they will release another one.
- 1:32:06Let it rest for a little bit. Mmm.
- 1:32:08No I rested for too long before okay.
- 1:32:11But you know it can rest for a little bit and Ne.
- 1:32:16All right Jesse. Where are we watching next week?
- 1:32:19Jack, Frost Jack Frost. That was a patron vote.
- 1:32:23Yeah, a tree on boat, which I'm excited to cover it anyway, you
- 1:32:29can watch it. A lot of places, is it still in
- 1:32:31shutter right now? Yeah, I believe so it's on
- 1:32:33peacock. I know for sure.
- 1:32:35Well, I mean to read the other ones.
- 1:32:36Oh yeah, I know that there is a Joe Bob, like a last Drive in
- 1:32:42special, it's the Joe Bob's Red Christmas which is my favorite
- 1:32:46Christmas special that he's ever such a stacked liner from that.
- 1:32:49Oh my God. But you can watch it for free on
- 1:32:52to the Pluto peacock, Voodoo, crackle, or plaque shit.
- 1:32:57Are, you can stream it if you have a subscription to fubo, CB
- 1:33:00prime or Philo, or you can rent it for $2 from YouTube or Google
- 1:33:04Play. Is the 1997 Jack Frost.
- 1:33:08Yes, not until 1998. Not Tom Hanks, Michael Keaton.
- 1:33:12Yeah. This is the one that the poster
- 1:33:15haunted my dreams from the convenience store, down the road
- 1:33:19from my house growing up. Yes, I loved it.
- 1:33:21I loved the box art so much if you want to, you know, see if

- 1:34:32and this month is jam-packed. Yeah.
- 1:34:35Yeah, so I'm hoping we can like calm down a little bit in
- 1:34:38January and get back into like a better swing of things but this
- 1:34:42is where we're at right now. Yes.
- 1:34:43But I'm very excited for this month's.
