Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Mitch McCann joins us from the United States of America
- 0:03Speaker 1: with the time at thirteen minutes to six. Hey Mitch, hey, Andrew,
- 0:06Speaker 1: how are you good? That speech to Congress went on
- 0:08Speaker 1: and on and on and on.
- 0:09Speaker 2: It's a record breaker, a dead It was more than
- 0:12Speaker 2: one hundred minutes, the longest presidential address in modern history,
- 0:15Speaker 2: where Donald Trump opened with the phrase last night, America
- 0:19Speaker 2: is back. He spent more than one hundred minutes, as
- 0:22Speaker 2: I mentioned, going over what he called his achievements. But
- 0:25Speaker 2: early on there was some disruption. One Democrat had to
- 0:28Speaker 2: be escorted out of the chamber for hickling. Donald Trump
- 0:31Speaker 2: and others held up signs saying things like false. But
- 0:34Speaker 2: Donald Trump chosen stead to taught many of them, calling
- 0:37Speaker 2: them radical left lunatics. But in terms of any actual
- 0:40Speaker 2: substance in his speech, he made a point of saying
- 0:43Speaker 2: that he appreciated Volodimyir Zelensky's message that Ukraine is ready
- 0:47Speaker 2: to come to the negotiating table. And that's interesting because
- 0:51Speaker 2: this morning the United States has paused the sharing of
- 0:54Speaker 2: intelligence with Ukraine. The CIA director told Fox Business that
- 0:58Speaker 2: Donald Trump had a real quick about whether or not
- 1:01Speaker 2: Zelensky was committed to the peace process, and he said,
- 1:04Speaker 2: let's pause, but that may not last very long. The
- 1:07Speaker 2: administration has really started softening its language about Zelensky and
- 1:12Speaker 2: Ukraine since that now infamous blow up at the Oval
- 1:15Speaker 2: Office only a few days ago.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Yeah, but they have strengthened their talk about tariffs against
- 1:20Speaker 1: almost all the world. Canada's reacting as well, what's reaction
- 1:23Speaker 1: in America?
- 1:25Speaker 2: Yeah, Canada very unhappy with this. Justin Trudeau yesterday saying
- 1:28Speaker 2: it was a very dumb thing to do, aimed at
- 1:30Speaker 2: Donald Trump that comment. But it's reported the peer Donald
- 1:34Speaker 2: Trump and Trudeau are going to speak later today about this.
- 1:37Speaker 2: But we are learning this morning there might be some
- 1:39Speaker 2: relief here with the tariffs, specifically targeting the auto sector.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Howard Luckneck, donald Trump's Commerce secretary, was interviewed by Bloomberg
- 1:48Speaker 2: this morning. He said, there are going to be tariffs,
- 1:50Speaker 2: but Donald Trump's thinking about which sections of the market
- 1:53Speaker 2: he's considering going giving some relief to. And the reports
- 1:57Speaker 2: are that that could be the auto sector as soon
- 2:00Speaker 2: as this afternoon. And there is a lot of cars
- 2:02Speaker 2: car parts that transfer between Mexico, Canada and the UIs,
- 2:06Speaker 2: so that would be a lot of belief we might
- 2:08Speaker 2: know as soon as this afternoon, but in an hour
- 2:10Speaker 2: and a half from now. The White House is holding
- 2:13Speaker 2: its press breeding, so we may get some more information soon.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Good stuff, Mitch McCann out of the United States of America.
