- 0:07Speaker 2: Podcast, live from studios in New York, Michigan. And I
- 0:24Speaker 2: know this is Trek Cast, the Galaxy's most Unpredictable Star
- 0:28Speaker 2: Trek podcast. Today on the show, we're gonna be talking
- 0:32Speaker 2: about our predictions for Strange New World Season four. Plus
- 0:37Speaker 2: we've got Star Trek News, your listener feedback. I'm Scott
- 0:41Speaker 2: Boucher's And now, somewhere in the multiverse they are doing.
- 0:47Speaker 1: This show as puppets.
- 0:49Speaker 2: It's Dan Reyes and Dan Lombardo Ares. Yeah, whatever kind
- 0:56Speaker 2: of puppets they're doing on Strange New Worlds this season.
- 0:58Speaker 3: Yea googly eyed sock puppets eyes.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Like, because that's good.
- 1:06Speaker 2: Hey, I got an idea, guys, we should do the
- 1:08Speaker 2: show as puppets. When we review the Puppet Show.
- 1:12Speaker 4: I looked into actually buying like Jim Henson style puppets
- 1:16Speaker 4: of us expensive.
- 1:20Speaker 3: Yeah, there's gotta be there's gotta be a filter. There's
- 1:25Speaker 3: a there's a muppet filter. Oh.
- 1:27Speaker 1: I had even a better idea.
- 1:28Speaker 2: We should all make our own sock puppets of ourselves
- 1:34Speaker 2: and start the show.
- 1:35Speaker 3: Listen, listen, you're lucky up here. Give me you're giving
- 1:41Speaker 3: me arts and crafts.
- 1:42Speaker 4: Yea, arts and Scott.
- 1:45Speaker 3: You know what's what's the phrase? If Scott can you can?
- 1:48Speaker 3: That's right, if Scott ken Scott could do it himself.
- 1:55Speaker 4: Oh, Scott's going to show up on that day with
- 1:58Speaker 4: like three sock puppets.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Yeah, they all they all look the same except the
- 2:06Speaker 3: facial hair.
- 2:07Speaker 1: That's how That's right, that's right, that's right. And I'll
- 2:09Speaker 1: have one pack lid.
- 2:10Speaker 4: Yeah, that's awesome.
- 2:14Speaker 3: All right, I haven't been here a while. How long
- 2:16Speaker 3: how long has it been since I joined you guys,
- 2:19Speaker 3: it's been it's been a minute. Yeah, it's been a week.
- 2:21Speaker 1: It's been a week or two.
- 2:22Speaker 4: We've had a good vacation.
- 2:24Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, we went away. Uh, we went away last week,
- 2:27Speaker 3: went up to went up to the lake for four days,
- 2:30Speaker 3: to the water park. Did you know all the you know,
- 2:33Speaker 3: it took the kids Golden Corral, which is a vacation
- 2:37Speaker 3: in and of itself. Okay, tried to do you know,
- 2:41Speaker 3: we've been We've been up there a million times. I'm like,
- 2:43Speaker 3: all right, let's let's do a couple of different things.
- 2:46Speaker 3: So took them on the go karts. My my daughter
- 2:51Speaker 3: had a blast. Now she's only seven. She did she
- 2:54Speaker 3: didn't drive. She wanted me to drive. But that's fine.
- 2:57Speaker 3: But you know, she really enjoyed sticking a tongue out
- 3:00Speaker 3: at her brother and we blew blew past them around
- 3:03Speaker 3: the turn.
- 3:05Speaker 4: That's great, that's awesome. Yeah, that's awesome. Yeah, gokurts are
- 3:09Speaker 4: a lot of fun. I went to a do you guys,
- 3:15Speaker 4: I'm sure you guys have this in your ear? Brazilian barbecue?
- 3:17Speaker 3: Brazilian barbecue. Yeah, no, no, no. I remember about fifteen
- 3:21Speaker 3: years ago being in Vegas and it was there was
- 3:24Speaker 3: Korean barbecue was everywhere all of a sudden. I never
- 3:28Speaker 3: had it. I don't know what Korean barbecue really is,
- 3:30Speaker 3: but uh, what's what's Brazilian barbecue? How does it differ
- 3:33Speaker 3: from yeah, from anywhere else?
- 3:36Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, so it's uh, it's all you can eat, right,
- 3:40Speaker 4: But the way it works is you don't get up
- 3:43Speaker 4: and go to the food. The food comes to you. Yeah,
- 3:46Speaker 4: so they give you this. For us, they gave us
- 3:48Speaker 4: a little coaster and there was a green side and
- 3:50Speaker 4: a red side, and so they came by and there
- 3:53Speaker 4: was something you wanted. You flipped that green and they
- 3:55Speaker 4: stand over your table and they just cut off a
- 3:58Speaker 4: chunk of meat right there for you. How excited Scott is,
- 4:01Speaker 4: Oh dude, it was so good.
- 4:03Speaker 3: So Scott's Scott's excitement is my anxiety because in the
- 4:09Speaker 3: last ten weeks or so, I've lost about twenty five pounds.
- 4:14Speaker 3: Oh wow, thank you. And the biggest, the biggest part
- 4:20Speaker 3: of it is just standing up and saying I'm out. Yeah, yeah,
- 4:27Speaker 3: I had one slice of pizza and that is enough,
- 4:31Speaker 3: which goes against forty nine years of of programming.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 4:39Speaker 3: So, like we walked into Golden Corral and I'm walking in,
- 4:43Speaker 3: you know, I probably look like rain Man. I'm like,
- 4:44Speaker 3: it's a bad idea. It's a bad idea. Bad. So
- 4:48Speaker 3: if that is the standard for that type of barbecue, yeah,
- 4:54Speaker 3: I don't know, man, I don't know. I don't know
- 4:56Speaker 3: if I could do it. I mean sometimes oh, I
- 4:58Speaker 3: mean I know I could do Yeah, right, I don't
- 5:01Speaker 3: are on a weight loss journey do when they like so,
- 5:04Speaker 3: because sometimes you don't have to go to an all
- 5:07Speaker 3: you can fee.
- 5:07Speaker 2: But if you're with if you're going to a birthday party,
- 5:10Speaker 2: or you're with family, or there's a there's certain situations
- 5:13Speaker 2: where it's it's just convenient to go because everybody else
- 5:16Speaker 2: is going, and it's it's hard to say no to
- 5:18Speaker 2: a second plate.
- 5:19Speaker 1: It is, yeah, because that second plate is essentially free.
- 5:23Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:23Speaker 1: You pay the one price, whether you eat one plate
- 5:26Speaker 1: or five.
- 5:27Speaker 3: Yeah. So the way I rationalized it is I did
- 5:30Speaker 3: a couple things. I just reminded myself. I'm you know,
- 5:32Speaker 3: it doesn't matter what I pay. I'm paying whatever it was,
- 5:35Speaker 3: twenty dollars, I don't remember what it was. Yeah, you know,
- 5:37Speaker 3: that's for dinner. It doesn't matter what I eat for dinner.
- 5:41Speaker 3: There's nobody sitting in a back room somewhere with a
- 5:43Speaker 3: big calculator and they're like, ah, Lombardo's they beat the system.
- 5:46Speaker 3: They beat the system.
- 5:47Speaker 4: That's right, that's right.
- 5:48Speaker 3: This doesn't happen. Yeah, it doesn't happen. So that's one
- 5:51Speaker 3: thing I did. Just come to terms with the fact
- 5:53Speaker 3: of I'm here to I'm here for dinner. I'm going
- 5:56Speaker 3: to decide what dinner is, right, That's one thing. The
- 5:59Speaker 3: second thing is you can get up as many times
- 6:03Speaker 3: as you want. Ye that that doesn't mean I have
- 6:05Speaker 3: to fill the plate each time. It's all you can eat,
- 6:09Speaker 3: it's not all you can carry. So I you know,
- 6:13Speaker 3: I got up and it's like, all right, let me
- 6:15Speaker 3: get a little bit of this and a little bit
- 6:16Speaker 3: of that, a little bit of this. Yeah, and then
- 6:18Speaker 3: you know, a few minutes later, right, let me do
- 6:20Speaker 3: it again. But it was like reasonable portions, like oh
- 6:22Speaker 3: I want I want a meatball because I also want
- 6:28Speaker 3: a rangoon, you know, so I don't know, just yeah,
- 6:33Speaker 3: I made four trips. They were really small.
- 6:35Speaker 4: Trips, see, And this was like they'd come by and
- 6:37Speaker 4: they'd like cut you off just a slice of meat, right,
- 6:40Speaker 4: like here, here's a little bit of beef, or here's
- 6:43Speaker 4: like two or three shrimp.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Right.
- 6:44Speaker 4: So it's it's small, but it adds up over time,
- 6:47Speaker 4: so you gotta be careful.
- 6:49Speaker 3: Right at this point, we need to pause for a
- 6:51Speaker 3: podcast identification. Welcome to Food Casts, the most Unpredictable food podcast.
- 6:57Speaker 3: You may think you're listening to track Cast, the Galaxy's
- 7:00Speaker 3: most Unpredictable Star Trek podcast. But if you think that, you're.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Wrong, Well, I was gonna bring it back to Star
- 7:06Speaker 1: Trek by saying, you know, how fat would I be
- 7:09Speaker 1: if I had access twenty four to seven to a replication?
- 7:12Speaker 3: Oh my god. So David and Darren covered this like
- 7:15Speaker 3: twenty years ago, didn't they. Yeah, you wouldn't be because
- 7:19Speaker 3: you would you would walk out of Golden Corral and
- 7:23Speaker 3: and you would proceed to the transporter room and they
- 7:26Speaker 3: would just beam it all out of you. That's like,
- 7:29Speaker 3: it's like it's like twenty fourth century Bulimia. Yeah, yeah,
- 7:34Speaker 3: you know, except you don't ruin your teeth with stomach acid.
- 7:39Speaker 4: You would if they would be able to make something
- 7:42Speaker 4: at that high level of technology that tasted amazing but
- 7:45Speaker 4: was like calorie wise and nutrient wise, was pretty in
- 7:49Speaker 4: line with what you should have, you know, Yeah, you
- 7:52Speaker 4: would think, I don't know.
- 7:53Speaker 3: I don't know. I mean the minute they can make
- 7:54Speaker 3: broccoli taste like chocolate, I think they'll have unlocked the key.
- 7:59Speaker 4: That's true.
- 8:00Speaker 1: We cracked Like if you boil it, yeah, put giant
- 8:06Speaker 1: dollves the cheese over it.
- 8:08Speaker 3: Maybe some sour cream or something.
- 8:10Speaker 4: That doesn't help my problem.
- 8:12Speaker 3: I mean, we haven't figured that out.
- 8:14Speaker 2: I got a problem. I'm hungry all the time. Oh
- 8:20Speaker 2: it doesn't matter.
- 8:20Speaker 1: I could. I could go to a Golden Corral and
- 8:23Speaker 1: eat until I hate myself, and then an hour and
- 8:25Speaker 1: a half later, I'm like, go for one more piece
- 8:28Speaker 1: of you?
- 8:28Speaker 3: Know.
- 8:28Speaker 2: I just I'm always hungry. I'm always hungry. So that's
- 8:33Speaker 2: why my my VA doc and I we uh, we
- 8:36Speaker 2: got together and I'm on a g LP one now.
- 8:40Speaker 3: Oh okay.
- 8:40Speaker 1: It's helping. It's helping. You know.
- 8:43Speaker 2: It doesn't make the food choices for me. It doesn't
- 8:45Speaker 2: make me eat nutritious food. It doesn't you know, playing
- 8:48Speaker 2: my meals or anything like that. It just halms that
- 8:51Speaker 2: I'm hungry. I'm hungry.
- 8:52Speaker 1: I gotta have some food kind of noise in my
- 8:54Speaker 1: head all the time, you know.
- 8:57Speaker 3: So yeah, big reveal me too.
- 9:02Speaker 4: Oh nice.
- 9:03Speaker 3: I will tell you. I will tell you one thing though, Scott.
- 9:06Speaker 3: I don't know how regularly you exercise, but you you
- 9:10Speaker 3: have to do that with it.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:13Speaker 3: If not, you're gonna be You're gonna be losing muscle
- 9:15Speaker 3: mass along with it, and it's not good.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:20Speaker 2: I actually doubled down on my weightlifting. I was weigh
- 9:24Speaker 2: so nice three days a week. Now I'm lifting six
- 9:26Speaker 2: days a week. So I'm doing two push pull leg
- 9:31Speaker 2: a week now.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Yeah, and that and that also increases the effectiveness. I
- 9:35Speaker 3: have a family member who has been on it for
- 9:39Speaker 3: fourteen months, and you know he's only lost ten pounds
- 9:43Speaker 3: more than I have. Oh and I've been on two
- 9:46Speaker 3: and a half months because completely sedentary lifestyle. So it
- 9:50Speaker 3: can only do it can only do month so much.
- 9:53Speaker 3: And I've been trying to tell him like, just you know,
- 9:56Speaker 3: two days a week, yes, two days a week, go
- 9:58Speaker 3: do something, don't. I don't have time. You got time? Yeah,
- 10:02Speaker 3: you got time?
- 10:03Speaker 1: Time?
- 10:03Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly, exactly, Okay, all right, well, well yeah, welcome
- 10:09Speaker 4: to health.
- 10:12Speaker 1: You know, people, I.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Gotta say people, and I've talked to people about this before.
- 10:17Speaker 2: You know, the fans of the show, they're interested in
- 10:19Speaker 2: Star Trek. They're just pop culture. But if they listened
- 10:21Speaker 2: long enough, they've got a little tiny bit of interest
- 10:24Speaker 2: in us. So every once in a while, you know,
- 10:27Speaker 2: it's okay to go off on a tangent.
- 10:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:29Speaker 3: Absolutely, And you know what, and one more, one more
- 10:32Speaker 3: thing before we close the book on that. You know,
- 10:35Speaker 3: I'm married. I'm married later this month, will be married
- 10:38Speaker 3: eighteen years. I got, I got, I got, I got
- 10:41Speaker 3: two kids. I got, I got two kids. You know,
- 10:46Speaker 3: I'm with my life partner for life. This is not
- 10:50Speaker 3: to go out and take my shirt off at the
- 10:53Speaker 3: beach and attract chicks. And that's not what it's about.
- 10:56Speaker 3: It's it's it's about the fact that, hey, if I
- 10:59Speaker 3: don't get this under control, you know, I want to
- 11:03Speaker 3: meet my grand kids. You know. That's really that's really
- 11:07Speaker 3: what it's about.
- 11:08Speaker 4: Absolutely great. Okay, well we oh no, Andrea sounds like
- 11:14Speaker 4: Brazilian meat cut restaurants walking on. Yes, that's exactly what
- 11:20Speaker 4: I went to, just walk around and serve you meat.
- 11:23Speaker 4: It's great. Okay, all right, let's let's get to the
- 11:29Speaker 4: Star Trek News.
- 11:30Speaker 3: All right, Star Trek News.
- 11:33Speaker 4: So our first news story comes to us tonight from
- 11:36Speaker 4: trekmovie dot com. This just came out yesterday and we
- 11:41Speaker 4: are learning a little bit more about Star Trek Uh
- 11:45Speaker 4: Strange New World Season four and what to expect from it.
- 11:48Speaker 4: They interviewed one of the producers, So if you're counting,
- 11:52Speaker 4: this is like the third big we're gonna out there
- 11:56Speaker 4: and promote season four and what to expect. The first
- 12:00Speaker 4: interview with one of the producers was We're gonna take
- 12:03Speaker 4: a bunch of big swings. It's gonna be amazing. People
- 12:05Speaker 4: are gonna love it. The second big interview was a
- 12:08Speaker 4: different producer who said, we're not taking big swings. It's
- 12:11Speaker 4: gonna be traditional trick. You guys are gonna love it.
- 12:13Speaker 4: And now we got our third interview, which is.
- 12:17Speaker 3: And you guys are gonna hate it.
- 12:18Speaker 4: Yeah, it's it's we're gonna take a bunch of big swings.
- 12:20Speaker 4: You guys are gonna love it. So there you go,
- 12:24Speaker 4: the trick is coming out. So yeah, Keith's Goldsman was
- 12:28Speaker 4: out there. He uh did an interview with s s
- 12:31Speaker 4: FX magazine and basically he just said, Hey, there's gonna
- 12:35Speaker 4: be all sorts of different genres in season four. It's
- 12:38Speaker 4: gonna be wacky and different. He also did let slip
- 12:42Speaker 4: that we're gonna get David Marcus in the season at
- 12:45Speaker 4: some point, you know, as as a kid, I guess
- 12:49Speaker 4: I don't know. We don't know for sure, Yes, David
- 12:52Speaker 4: Marcus Popler. Yeah, would have to be. I would think,
- 12:57Speaker 4: we don't know.
- 12:57Speaker 3: This is an alternate timeline.
- 12:58Speaker 4: That's true. Well, that's also in the article that he
- 13:02Speaker 4: is adamant this is prime timeline that it all is.
- 13:05Speaker 3: It's not prime timeline. They've already established it. It's not
- 13:07Speaker 3: prime timeline. We had that whole episode that took place
- 13:11Speaker 3: in Canada where you know they established that this is
- 13:13Speaker 3: not not Yeah, they've already said that. So I don't
- 13:17Speaker 3: know what that guy's talking about.
- 13:18Speaker 4: I know, I'm just saying what the articles is.
- 13:21Speaker 3: But yes, you're right, Well the article's wrong, Daniel. I
- 13:23Speaker 3: need you to I need you to say you understand that.
- 13:26Speaker 4: I do understand that.
- 13:27Speaker 3: Okay, he is very wrong.
- 13:29Speaker 4: He's very wrong.
- 13:30Speaker 2: Yeah, taking small swing. What do we talk about again?
- 13:32Speaker 2: Small swings and nose swings and swinging big swings.
- 13:35Speaker 4: Yeahs, unless you don't want big swings, then it's all
- 13:38Speaker 4: good swings.
- 13:40Speaker 3: I don't know how long. How long has it been
- 13:42Speaker 3: since the last season? It's like two years?
- 13:44Speaker 1: Right?
- 13:44Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 13:45Speaker 1: Yeah? Did we not have season three? Wasn't twenty twenty five?
- 13:49Speaker 3: I think so?
- 13:50Speaker 1: I'm looking right now.
- 13:51Speaker 2: The last episode aired, oh, September eleventh, twenty twenty five.
- 13:55Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, it's been a year.
- 13:57Speaker 3: It's just just a year, okay, I thought, all right, Well.
- 14:00Speaker 4: A lot has happened since then.
- 14:02Speaker 3: Yeah, it feels like a lifetime ago. Maybe maybe all
- 14:05Speaker 3: the the what's up at the Mount drama that'll be next?
- 14:10Speaker 1: Yeah, boy, it's yeah, yeah, all right, well let's do that.
- 14:18Speaker 4: Act sorry comes from also from Trek movie and yes,
- 14:21Speaker 4: as Dan was saying, there are many things going on
- 14:24Speaker 4: with the mount, and people are mounting up against the
- 14:27Speaker 4: mount as.
- 14:30Speaker 3: Regulators did. Yeah you know, I'm pictured. I'm pictured Letitia
- 14:45Speaker 3: James on a horse with a cowboy hat and boots
- 14:49Speaker 3: calling all the other attorneys general general.
- 14:55Speaker 4: Lawsuit up.
- 14:57Speaker 3: Yeah, so uh so stupid.
- 15:00Speaker 4: Twelve state attorney generals are all banning together to file
- 15:04Speaker 4: a lawsuit against Paramount, the Paramount Warner Brothers merger and
- 15:10Speaker 4: so yeah, so they filed the lawsuit. The Writers Guild
- 15:12Speaker 4: of America has also joined in on this lawsuit. The
- 15:15Speaker 4: idea is that this if this merger went through, it
- 15:20Speaker 4: would reduce the amount of jobs in Hollywood. I actually
- 15:23Speaker 4: listened to a podcast with one of the lead attorneys
- 15:26Speaker 4: on this case. It was on a show called The Town.
- 15:32Speaker 4: Podcast called The Town that's a Hollywood industry podcast. One
- 15:36Speaker 4: of the things they brought up was like, yeah, it's
- 15:39Speaker 4: kind of arbitrary whether or not people will lose jobs.
- 15:42Speaker 4: But one of the big I guess key points apparently
- 15:45Speaker 4: is when Warner Brothers and Discovery merged, they promised to
- 15:54Speaker 4: make twenty movies a year, so thereby keeping the amount
- 15:56Speaker 4: of jobs and projects and all that, and they only
- 16:00Speaker 4: made so it's like half. That is like half. So
- 16:06Speaker 4: so what the attorney generals are saying is that this
- 16:09Speaker 4: is absolutely going to destroy the amount of jobs out
- 16:11Speaker 4: there and opportunities.
- 16:13Speaker 3: Yeah, that may very well be true, but since when
- 16:19Speaker 3: is it the job of government to tell a business
- 16:21Speaker 3: how to conduct their business and how much product they
- 16:24Speaker 3: need to generate.
- 16:26Speaker 4: Well, the thing I was gonna say about that is
- 16:28Speaker 4: the thing that that point was failed to make is
- 16:32Speaker 4: when they only made ten ten movies. It's also right
- 16:35Speaker 4: around COVID time, so everything was shut down, so you
- 16:39Speaker 4: couldn't really make a lot of movies back then. You
- 16:41Speaker 4: can't have people in a big gathering and making things.
- 16:45Speaker 2: So plus, when government gets involved with stuff like this,
- 16:48Speaker 2: it's more about antitrust and yeah, right.
- 16:52Speaker 4: Right, And that's the other thing is like the UK
- 16:55Speaker 4: still needs to give their approval for this merger. The
- 16:57Speaker 4: EU need to give their approval for this merger. I
- 17:00Speaker 4: know the US government has, but attorney generals can also
- 17:03Speaker 4: have authority to do that too, So that's why they're
- 17:05Speaker 4: having this lawsuit. There's also the fact that if the
- 17:09Speaker 4: merger does not go through, but I think it's like
- 17:10Speaker 4: September ninth, Warner are Yeah, Warner Brothers has to pay
- 17:17Speaker 4: paramount a fee. I think it's every quarter that the
- 17:20Speaker 4: merger doesn't get through, So.
- 17:23Speaker 1: It's like a couple hundred bucks or hundred bucks.
- 17:26Speaker 4: No, it's like billions, like millions or billions of dollars. Yeah, yeah,
- 17:30Speaker 4: it's it's crazy. So the lawsuit continues. We'll see what happens.
- 17:36Speaker 4: But that's where we're at right now.
- 17:37Speaker 3: A lot of this has to do with who is
- 17:39Speaker 3: going to control CNN mm hmm, and the parties involved
- 17:44Speaker 3: have already said that they are looking to take CNN
- 17:49Speaker 3: into a less liberal leaning stance. Okay, and if you
- 17:55Speaker 3: look at which attorneys general have filed this lawsuit, it
- 18:00Speaker 3: kind of tracks right. So yeah, we'll see how it goes.
- 18:05Speaker 4: We'll see how it goes, all right. Our next new
- 18:08Speaker 4: story comes to us from magicthe Gathering dot com. If
- 18:14Speaker 4: you're into this, I know I am, judging by the
- 18:19Speaker 4: posts that I made in the Facebook group. People were
- 18:22Speaker 4: really excited about this. But we are getting a preview
- 18:25Speaker 4: of the Star Trek cards that are coming up towards
- 18:28Speaker 4: the end of the year in November, and we are
- 18:30Speaker 4: getting all sorts of Star Trek cards. There's gonna be
- 18:33Speaker 4: a Captain j Kirk, Captain Janeway. We're getting just a
- 18:38Speaker 4: ton of sets. These things are so expensive for what
- 18:41Speaker 4: they are too, it's ridiculous.
- 18:44Speaker 3: Remember remember like four or five years ago, was it,
- 18:47Speaker 3: or maybe it was three years ago, where what were
- 18:51Speaker 3: they called NFC's Is that what they were? Yeah, when
- 18:55Speaker 3: they were a big thing for like fifteen minutes. Yeah,
- 18:58Speaker 3: because they're not really not really a thing anymore, right, Yeah,
- 19:03Speaker 3: I got rich. Yeah, Yeah, this is like the antithesis
- 19:08Speaker 3: of that. You know that was like we're gonna get
- 19:10Speaker 3: you're gonna pay us this money, We're gonna give you nothing. Well,
- 19:14Speaker 3: it's not really the antithesis. This is like one step
- 19:16Speaker 3: above that. You're gonna give us this money and we're
- 19:19Speaker 3: gonna you know that thing that would have been nothing
- 19:21Speaker 3: three years ago, We're gonna print it on on a
- 19:23Speaker 3: piece of cardboard. Yeahh Like okay, I mean it's no
- 19:29Speaker 3: different than baseball cards.
- 19:30Speaker 4: No, it's no different, right, Yeah. Like to give you
- 19:33Speaker 4: an idea, how long ago was I out there? Like
- 19:34Speaker 4: two years ago, three years ago something like that New
- 19:37Speaker 4: York Dan was it?
- 19:38Speaker 3: Uh yeah, like two three years ago?
- 19:40Speaker 4: Whatever it was? Okay, So when I was out there,
- 19:43Speaker 4: I bought a what's called Commander deck, which is a
- 19:46Speaker 4: pack of one hundred cards, and it was twenty bucks.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Right.
- 19:51Speaker 4: Yeah, the Commander decks for the Star Trek series, they
- 19:55Speaker 4: start at seventy five dollars.
- 19:57Speaker 3: Yeah, but they're different because you have to say Commanda.
- 20:01Speaker 4: That's right.
- 20:01Speaker 3: You can't say Commander, it's Commanda.
- 20:04Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 20:04Speaker 3: Yeah, that's insane.
- 20:06Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, they're only different because they've got Spock
- 20:11Speaker 4: on them or are or like you know, Jeordi's on there.
- 20:15Speaker 3: But everything goes up in price. Oh yeah, I could
- 20:19Speaker 3: not tell you. I could not tell you what a
- 20:22Speaker 3: single issue of a regular run Marvel or DC comic
- 20:27Speaker 3: costs nowadays. But if I had to guess, I would
- 20:30Speaker 3: say probably eight bucks.
- 20:34Speaker 4: I think that's right.
- 20:36Speaker 3: Yeah, I remember when they were sixty five cents.
- 20:40Speaker 1: For a single regular run comic book.
- 20:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 20:43Speaker 3: Oh my, okay, I'm gonna I'm gonna google it now because.
- 20:48Speaker 4: I remember a few years ago, DC like had a
- 20:50Speaker 4: big thing about like holding the line at four ninety
- 20:52Speaker 4: nine or something like that.
- 20:54Speaker 3: Yeah, how'd that go that way?
- 20:57Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 20:58Speaker 4: But whatever, there's gonna be all sorts of series you
- 21:00Speaker 4: can buy. There's gonna be four different Commander decks. If
- 21:03Speaker 4: you're into Magic the Gathering, you can buy the bundle
- 21:07Speaker 4: of those for like right around I think it's like
- 21:09Speaker 4: two fifty, or you can buy them individually and it's
- 21:11Speaker 4: like three hundred bucks.
- 21:13Speaker 1: So is a Commander deck? Can I buy a Commander
- 21:16Speaker 1: deck and be ready to play a game of magic?
- 21:17Speaker 4: Yep, that's what it's designed to do. You just buy
- 21:20Speaker 4: a Commander deck and you're ready to go. I would
- 21:24Speaker 4: wait because a lot of these these what they call
- 21:29Speaker 4: Universes Beyond, that's what they're bringing in other franchises into
- 21:32Speaker 4: into Magic the Gathering, So like this one, like Star Trek,
- 21:35Speaker 4: a lot of these premium Universes Beyond decks tend to
- 21:39Speaker 4: fall in price after the after the initial launch. So
- 21:44Speaker 4: like right now they're doing Marvel Superheroes and those all
- 21:48Speaker 4: started at like seventy five bucks, and I think now
- 21:51Speaker 4: you can get those Commander decks for like fifty.
- 21:53Speaker 2: So it just yeah, because I have a few friends
- 21:56Speaker 2: that play Magic the Gathering and I've played two games,
- 21:59Speaker 2: maybe three games, and once I learned it, I enjoyed it,
- 22:02Speaker 2: you know. But I and my friends that you know,
- 22:08Speaker 2: I played Magic with, they they immediately, you know, sent
- 22:10Speaker 2: me a link to the stuff said oh hey, check
- 22:12Speaker 2: this out, and I'm like, yeah, yeah, you know, we've
- 22:14Speaker 2: talked about it and stuff like that.
- 22:15Speaker 1: So I'm not going to say I'm not going to
- 22:16Speaker 1: do it.
- 22:17Speaker 2: I'm not going to say I am, but I you know,
- 22:19Speaker 2: if if I can come across a deal or you know,
- 22:23Speaker 2: get a better handle on what is what you know,
- 22:26Speaker 2: Commander decks are what it looks like Commanda decks or
- 22:31Speaker 2: sventy five dollars, and I don't know what ginner boxes
- 22:35Speaker 2: are or play boosters are or any of that stuff
- 22:38Speaker 2: because I don't know magic the gathering.
- 22:40Speaker 1: So yeah, I'll have to educate myself.
- 22:42Speaker 4: But so they also have the Collector's Edition Commander Decks
- 22:46Speaker 4: for one hundred and sixty. Just means all of the
- 22:50Speaker 4: cards are probably foil so shining, holographic looking, same cards,
- 22:56Speaker 4: exact same cards.
- 22:57Speaker 1: So like what's a big.
- 23:00Speaker 3: So okay, beginner box.
- 23:02Speaker 4: See that's the thing that they'll call these things the
- 23:04Speaker 4: same thing, and they're all kind of different. But a
- 23:06Speaker 4: beginner box typically is it's a it's a bunch of
- 23:10Speaker 4: what you need to just like play at home with
- 23:13Speaker 4: a few different people, maybe like two to four people.
- 23:16Speaker 4: It's enough cards that you can build your own decks,
- 23:19Speaker 4: so you can have a different experience every time. Right,
- 23:22Speaker 4: you just cycle them out. It's just designed that we're
- 23:25Speaker 4: gonna play Magic and here's the box, and we'll never
- 23:28Speaker 4: buy cards again.
- 23:29Speaker 3: Okay, so they have the regular cards and then they
- 23:31Speaker 3: make the same cards again but with like shiny shinier material.
- 23:37Speaker 4: For the premium ones.
- 23:38Speaker 1: Yees.
- 23:39Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, So none of these people have ever read
- 23:42Speaker 3: a comic book and saw how that worked out.
- 23:47Speaker 2: So could I buy a beginner box and my other
- 23:50Speaker 2: friends who have Magic cards come over and I could play?
- 23:53Speaker 4: Yeah, I just had to build a deck from that
- 23:56Speaker 4: and build it right, yeah.
- 23:59Speaker 1: It.
- 24:00Speaker 4: Here's the thing in Magic, there's all sorts of different
- 24:03Speaker 4: ways to play there. There's Commander, there's Standard, there's Vintage, Poplar,
- 24:08Speaker 4: there's Pioneer, like all these and they all have stupid
- 24:12Speaker 4: different rules. So if you bought a Commander deck, that
- 24:16Speaker 4: means you can only play Commander, right, you cannot You
- 24:21Speaker 4: cannot play a popular format or a standard format.
- 24:25Speaker 2: So like, does that mean to me or everybody I'm
- 24:27Speaker 2: playing with has to stick with one format?
- 24:30Speaker 4: It would mean you because everyone Yeah, yeah, chess, it's
- 24:34Speaker 4: hard cast, Yeah, yeah.
- 24:38Speaker 3: Scott, you can't. You can't bring your hockey equipment to
- 24:40Speaker 3: play basketball.
- 24:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, you know, some things are the same.
- 24:49Speaker 4: If you really want to get into it, I would
- 24:52Speaker 4: suggest download Magic Arena on your phone. Okay, the digital
- 24:57Speaker 4: version of this game. You will get a hang for
- 25:00Speaker 4: how the cards play and what's going on. A lot
- 25:03Speaker 4: of times they make digital versions of these cards that
- 25:07Speaker 4: you can just get for playing the game for free,
- 25:09Speaker 4: and they're all on your phone and they're not just
- 25:11Speaker 4: taking up space in your living room, right.
- 25:14Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:14Speaker 1: I mean it's been eight or nine years since I
- 25:16Speaker 1: played the game.
- 25:16Speaker 2: Yeah, because I was trying to think of the last
- 25:18Speaker 2: time I played, and it was at my old house.
- 25:20Speaker 1: And we haven't lived there in eight years.
- 25:23Speaker 4: So I would say, if you're gonna do it, download
- 25:25Speaker 4: Arena first. See if you like it before you're throwing
- 25:28Speaker 4: seventy five bucks out of Commander.
- 25:30Speaker 1: Well, I you know, I remember playing the game, and
- 25:32Speaker 1: I remember I enjoyed it, and it's it's something that
- 25:34Speaker 1: you know, some of my good friends are sort of
- 25:36Speaker 1: into that I hadn't been into yet. So yeah, yeah,
- 25:39Speaker 1: maybe I'll uh yeah, all right, I'll buy some.
- 25:42Speaker 3: So I was a little bit off on my estimate,
- 25:45Speaker 3: new new standard single issue comic books typically cost between
- 25:49Speaker 3: three ninety nine and four ninety nine. However, premium, variant,
- 25:53Speaker 3: cover or oversized issues range from five ninety nine to
- 25:56Speaker 3: ten dollars.
- 25:58Speaker 1: Wow.
- 25:58Speaker 3: So still still.
- 26:00Speaker 2: Comic books still come out like once a week, right,
- 26:02Speaker 2: so if you're what you know, if you're doing the
- 26:04Speaker 2: Man of Steel series whatever, Superman is.
- 26:06Speaker 4: Not once a month, once a month.
- 26:09Speaker 3: So once a month. But but he well, at least
- 26:12Speaker 3: when I was reading twenty five years ago, he had
- 26:14Speaker 3: four different.
- 26:14Speaker 1: Titles, right, one Man, Man of Steel, Man Tomorrow, you know. Yeah, yeah,
- 26:18Speaker 1: it was smart one.
- 26:20Speaker 3: There was one coming out every week, and there was
- 26:22Speaker 3: also a quarterly There was a quarterly book for those
- 26:27Speaker 3: months where there were five weeks in the yeah, in
- 26:30Speaker 3: the month.
- 26:31Speaker 1: Okay, yeah.
- 26:32Speaker 4: So oh and then the last thing I wanted to
- 26:34Speaker 4: bring up, Uh, if you're playing the Star Trek Voyager
- 26:37Speaker 4: game across the Across the Unknown, they just launched a
- 26:41Speaker 4: DLC and so that is out so people can get
- 26:44Speaker 4: that if.
- 26:45Speaker 1: They want to, and a DLC for people who don't.
- 26:47Speaker 4: Know, yeah, downloadable contents like me, oh DLC okay, yeah,
- 26:53Speaker 4: I send you the message.
- 26:54Speaker 3: They sent it to it.
- 26:55Speaker 2: You did send me a message. I haven't played it yet.
- 26:58Speaker 2: I haven't played it since it twice. Yeah, and it's
- 27:03Speaker 2: it's it's for certain types of people. Yes, I'm not
- 27:07Speaker 2: sure I'm that type of person.
- 27:09Speaker 4: I'm not either.
- 27:10Speaker 3: I don't know what you're talking about.
- 27:12Speaker 1: The Yeah, it's basically a resource management game. Yeah, and
- 27:18Speaker 1: I you know, so if you're if you've got that
- 27:20Speaker 1: personality where you like resource management games.
- 27:24Speaker 4: I do a lot of inventory counting at my job.
- 27:27Speaker 4: I don't need to do it at all.
- 27:29Speaker 1: Sure, yeah, yeah, exactly exactly.
- 27:34Speaker 4: So we're good. All right, Well it's uh, it's prediction time.
- 27:39Speaker 4: Let's let's get to the main topic.
- 27:40Speaker 5: Fun will now comment.
- 27:45Speaker 1: I do I do have a quick show and tell.
- 27:47Speaker 1: Oh yeah, if I forgot about this.
- 27:49Speaker 2: So this was actually from a bit a while ago
- 27:51Speaker 2: because this was a Father's Day gift that my wife
- 27:54Speaker 2: got me. But I have been wanting. Oh it's a
- 27:58Speaker 2: very simple one. I mean it's it's for a four
- 28:01Speaker 2: year old to put together.
- 28:02Speaker 1: But it's the U S.
- 28:03Speaker 2: S Enterprise n C C one seven one D. It's
- 28:07Speaker 2: an a MT plastic on the internet.
- 28:11Speaker 1: So I, hey, put your d away. This is I've
- 28:14Speaker 1: opened it.
- 28:15Speaker 2: But it's it's got you know, this is like this,
- 28:17Speaker 2: this is a saucer section.
- 28:18Speaker 1: You don't even have to put it together.
- 28:20Speaker 6: But it's got some pieces sage, the sausage, sausage sex.
- 28:25Speaker 6: So it's got the type of stickers where you have
- 28:27Speaker 6: to get wet, you know, you gotta get the D
- 28:29Speaker 6: a little wet and then.
- 28:31Speaker 3: Uh you called water water slides. You gotta get the
- 28:37Speaker 3: D wet and then slide it on.
- 28:43Speaker 4: Scott's mom watching the show.
- 28:45Speaker 1: Mom watches the show. Guys, she knows, she knows. So
- 28:51Speaker 1: I'm gonna have fun getting d wet and getting those
- 28:54Speaker 1: sliding them stickers on.
- 28:57Speaker 4: Yeah. Oh wow, Okay, so on that Strange New World.
- 29:05Speaker 4: Season four is just around the corner. Premiere just Thursday,
- 29:08Speaker 4: and uh, we do our predictions. So we got our
- 29:11Speaker 4: predictions going. This really doesn't count for anything. It's just
- 29:15Speaker 4: fun and uh I read.
- 29:18Speaker 1: And I just looked this up. Uh, this Thursday is
- 29:21Speaker 1: just one episode?
- 29:22Speaker 4: Is it just one?
- 29:23Speaker 3: Okay?
- 29:24Speaker 4: Yep, Okay, this Thursday, This Thursday, Okay, it begins.
- 29:29Speaker 3: Yeah, we'll start trek action up in here. Okay, yeah yeah, camp.
- 29:33Speaker 1: So I'm not gonna I'm not gonna.
- 29:35Speaker 2: Watch the episode until next Sunday camp. I'm gonna miss
- 29:38Speaker 2: I'll be camping, I'll be missing, and I will also
- 29:40Speaker 2: not be here for the next trek Cast episode.
- 29:43Speaker 3: So sorry everybody, you're gonna be camping or glamping.
- 29:46Speaker 1: That's a pop up.
- 29:48Speaker 3: Okay, Yeah, so all.
- 29:49Speaker 4: Right, so I posted in our social media you know
- 29:52Speaker 4: that we're gonna be doing predictions, and I ask people
- 29:54Speaker 4: for their predictions. So the vast majorities are listener, you know,
- 29:58Speaker 4: statements that we will do.
- 30:00Speaker 3: What we always do.
- 30:01Speaker 4: For those of you who have never heard this before,
- 30:03Speaker 4: we go through a series of statements of the upcoming
- 30:05Speaker 4: season and we say whether or not we think that
- 30:08Speaker 4: will likely happen or it is unlikely to happen. So
- 30:12Speaker 4: we've got ten different statements to go through for the
- 30:15Speaker 4: upcoming season. We keep track of it on a Excel
- 30:21Speaker 4: type doc and then at the end of the season
- 30:23Speaker 4: we go back and see how accurate we were and
- 30:27Speaker 4: and who gets the bragging rights? So all right, pretty simple,
- 30:32Speaker 4: all right? Yeah, the first one, the first one comes
- 30:35Speaker 4: to us from Joe. This is pretty much the Big Gorilla.
- 30:38Speaker 4: It won't be as good as season one, likely or unlikely?
- 30:43Speaker 1: Yeah, am I, what right do you think? That you're
- 30:48Speaker 1: laughing and like you think I'm wrong.
- 30:50Speaker 3: I'm confused because there's I think that's like a triple
- 30:52Speaker 3: negative in there somewhere. Yeah, let's see. Yeah, it's unlikely
- 30:56Speaker 3: that it won't be as good as I know.
- 31:00Speaker 1: I know, I get, I get it.
- 31:01Speaker 2: So I'm gonna say that it won't be as good
- 31:04Speaker 2: as season one.
- 31:04Speaker 1: So however you.
- 31:05Speaker 4: Want to Yeah, okay, so we'll say I.
- 31:08Speaker 1: Think it's likely that it will.
- 31:09Speaker 4: Okay, you think it's likely it won't be as good
- 31:11Speaker 4: as season one.
- 31:12Speaker 3: Okay, I'm gonna I'm gonna agree with Scott. Yeah, I
- 31:15Speaker 3: I just don't. Just don't tell anybody I agree with Scott.
- 31:17Speaker 4: Yes, I also agree that it will likely not be
- 31:21Speaker 4: as good as season one.
- 31:23Speaker 3: Okay.
- 31:24Speaker 4: The next one comes to us from J M D
- 31:28Speaker 4: sixty nine at our Underscore YT on Instagram, and he says,
- 31:34Speaker 4: I think we'll see more build of Kirk and more
- 31:39Speaker 4: development of his relationship with Spock. I just copied a
- 31:42Speaker 4: paste of these.
- 31:44Speaker 3: Absolutely, that's likely.
- 31:45Speaker 1: That's likely.
- 31:46Speaker 4: Yeah, I think they they that's the only way they
- 31:50Speaker 4: can go. So yeah, all right, we're all likely on
- 31:52Speaker 4: so far on everything. Okay, we're just going through these
- 31:57Speaker 4: rowing from Facebook lawn meets.
- 32:00Speaker 1: Are does that come from?
- 32:02Speaker 4: It came from one of the Facebook groups?
- 32:04Speaker 1: Okay, is there any like? Is there something from a
- 32:08Speaker 1: rumor mill or?
- 32:10Speaker 3: I have? This is it? This is the start of.
- 32:14Speaker 1: You heard it here. Picard is going to be in
- 32:18Speaker 1: Strange New World season four. Well, hold on, guys, didn't
- 32:21Speaker 1: know that.
- 32:22Speaker 4: Remember we saw in in Star Trek Picard. There are
- 32:25Speaker 4: other Piccards, right, his family members from the past. So
- 32:29Speaker 4: this doesn't say it's Captain Picard that she would meet.
- 32:33Speaker 1: It's just another Picard.
- 32:35Speaker 4: It could be another Picard.
- 32:38Speaker 3: I still think it's unlikely.
- 32:39Speaker 1: I'm gonna say unlikely.
- 32:43Speaker 4: Now that I've talked myself into another Piccard, I think
- 32:47Speaker 4: it'll be.
- 32:47Speaker 1: You're liking it, I'm.
- 32:49Speaker 3: Gonna go I don't.
- 32:50Speaker 4: I don't think it'll really happen, but I win it. Yeah,
- 32:53Speaker 4: let's roll the dice, all right?
- 32:55Speaker 3: This next one, how how pissed are you going to
- 32:58Speaker 3: be if a Card shows up but it's not lone
- 33:01Speaker 3: that that meets him. Yeah, because that's a that's a
- 33:08Speaker 3: two part prediction.
- 33:09Speaker 4: There, Trevor Picard shows up, all right? This next one,
- 33:17Speaker 4: I believe this one came from Scott the puppet episode
- 33:20Speaker 4: will be cringing?
- 33:21Speaker 1: Likely?
- 33:25Speaker 4: Yeah, Yeah, I'm.
- 33:26Speaker 3: Gonna go out on a limb. I'm gonna say it's
- 33:28Speaker 3: not gonna be cringe. I'm thinking back to the last
- 33:32Speaker 3: time they did something like this, which which was the
- 33:36Speaker 3: musical episode, and and how and how well they pulled
- 33:42Speaker 3: it off. So I'm gonna trust. I'm saying this, I'm
- 33:48Speaker 3: gonna trust the writers of Star Trek okay okay, and
- 33:52Speaker 3: say I think they're gonna They're gonna come up with
- 33:53Speaker 3: something to make it likable.
- 33:56Speaker 4: I haven't feeling it depends on how much of the
- 33:58Speaker 4: puppet is in the puppet episode, you know. And I
- 34:03Speaker 4: also think it's what they do with it. Will it
- 34:06Speaker 4: be cringe? God, I can go back and forth on this.
- 34:09Speaker 4: I'm gonna go with likely as well. I think they
- 34:14Speaker 4: just the.
- 34:16Speaker 1: Who's the show runner this season? Kurtzman's out right, he's
- 34:20Speaker 1: not well, he's.
- 34:20Speaker 4: He's always looming right.
- 34:23Speaker 1: He's always metals running this.
- 34:25Speaker 4: No, it's Henry Lonzo Meyer.
- 34:32Speaker 1: And in eleven weeks we'll, I guess we'll know if
- 34:34Speaker 1: I'm going to be cursing his name or not.
- 34:37Speaker 4: Hey, well, we will go through this and we'll decide
- 34:39Speaker 4: who won all right, the next one, Dan will go
- 34:42Speaker 4: on a boozed field rant on how this show has
- 34:45Speaker 4: gotten worse? Was likely or unlikely? Is the Scott one
- 34:50Speaker 4: as well?
- 34:51Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, well here's the thing. We got to qualify this.
- 34:56Speaker 3: It definitely will not be booze.
- 34:58Speaker 4: That's what I was gonna say, So I would say
- 35:00Speaker 4: unlikely because it won't be booze filled.
- 35:02Speaker 3: Okay, So if you want to, if you want to
- 35:05Speaker 3: strike that portion of it.
- 35:07Speaker 4: Okay, damn, We'll go on a rant.
- 35:10Speaker 1: Got a rant about it likely how the.
- 35:13Speaker 3: Show has gotten worse? Okay?
- 35:14Speaker 4: Scott says likely, Yeah, I.
- 35:18Speaker 1: Don't know, Okay, self fulfilling.
- 35:21Speaker 4: Here's my internal struggle. Has the apathy set in thereby
- 35:26Speaker 4: not needing the rant because he just doesn't care anymore?
- 35:31Speaker 3: It's a good point, right, It's a very good It's
- 35:34Speaker 3: it is a very good point because I've kind of, uh,
- 35:37Speaker 3: there's a part of me that's kind of given up
- 35:40Speaker 3: on Star Trek, given up on some of the fandom,
- 35:43Speaker 3: because I've seen I've seen some pretty terrible things the
- 35:48Speaker 3: last year or so from some Star Trek fans. So
- 35:52Speaker 3: I don't I don't know, I don't know if I'm
- 35:55Speaker 3: gonna rant.
- 35:55Speaker 4: I'm gonna go with unlikely.
- 35:57Speaker 3: I'm gonna say I'm going to say unlikely. Okay, Okay,
- 36:01Speaker 3: I'll probably be wrong.
- 36:03Speaker 4: We'll see.
- 36:03Speaker 3: Yeah, all right. You know what's you know what's the
- 36:07Speaker 3: hardest part about this decision? You know, it shows that
- 36:10Speaker 3: this is the heart is there's one person in this
- 36:12Speaker 3: world who who could guarantee that I win this one
- 36:16Speaker 3: and that's me. And that's me.
- 36:18Speaker 4: That's right, that's me.
- 36:19Speaker 3: And I still can't decide how to.
- 36:22Speaker 1: Know thyself, Dan.
- 36:23Speaker 4: But but if you do rant, it comes from a
- 36:26Speaker 4: place of anger.
- 36:27Speaker 1: Yeah. Good, that's right.
- 36:29Speaker 3: Yeah, all right, So I'm gonna say, no, what did
- 36:31Speaker 3: I pick? I'm not I'm not gonna I'm not gonna rant.
- 36:35Speaker 3: I'm not gonna rant. And just just know that if
- 36:39Speaker 3: I do, it's legit, man, because I'm right. I'm throwing
- 36:42Speaker 3: I'm throwing away the trek cast cup or whatever whatever.
- 36:51Speaker 4: The fact that you said cup And now I want
- 36:53Speaker 4: to like get a cup, but I don't want it
- 36:57Speaker 4: to be like a cup glass. I want to be
- 36:59Speaker 4: like a.
- 37:00Speaker 3: Hold on, hold on, hold on, I gotta show you
- 37:02Speaker 3: my my Father's Day gift from last year.
- 37:05Speaker 4: Okay, Okay, Okay, I guess this is our halftime break as.
- 37:10Speaker 1: Dan good Oh nice, nice dead joke champion. Love it?
- 37:17Speaker 3: I like it?
- 37:19Speaker 1: I like it? Yeah?
- 37:24Speaker 3: Perfect.
- 37:27Speaker 4: I feel like you should be drinking your morning coffee
- 37:28Speaker 4: out of that thing.
- 37:29Speaker 3: Absolutely. Yeah, all right?
- 37:32Speaker 4: Next one? Uh, this is from Liz from Facebook. My
- 37:35Speaker 4: prediction is antson Mount will continue to be handsome and sexy.
- 37:40Speaker 4: Likely or unlikely.
- 37:42Speaker 1: Likely, it's not even a question of course.
- 37:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 37:45Speaker 1: Likely.
- 37:46Speaker 4: I mean, I feel like that's subjective, but yes I am.
- 37:50Speaker 3: I am two thousand heterosexual, and I would go home
- 37:54Speaker 3: with antson Mount.
- 37:55Speaker 1: There you go. I'm in the I think he's a
- 37:59Speaker 1: sexy guy.
- 38:00Speaker 3: I would mount them out.
- 38:03Speaker 1: Mount the bout. Oh that has to be a runner,
- 38:07Speaker 1: mount them out? All right?
- 38:10Speaker 3: Uh? Can I rock?
- 38:13Speaker 4: Twenty one?
- 38:13Speaker 3: On Instagram Spock dies.
- 38:17Speaker 2: I understand why the question is being asked or posed,
- 38:20Speaker 2: you know, but I think it's unlikely. I don't think
- 38:23Speaker 2: they're gonna it's way too early. And you know, there
- 38:26Speaker 2: has to be an emotional something behind it.
- 38:30Speaker 1: There.
- 38:30Speaker 2: There has these these particular characters, especially you know, the
- 38:35Speaker 2: ones that just came on board, like Kirk and the
- 38:37Speaker 2: rest of them. There's not that emotional connection yet there's
- 38:41Speaker 2: still very much coworkers.
- 38:42Speaker 4: The argument is in the statement, it doesn't say that
- 38:45Speaker 4: he stays I.
- 38:46Speaker 2: Know, I know, but they always you know, we've seen
- 38:48Speaker 2: it happen twice, and the first time obviously had huge
- 38:52Speaker 2: emotional consequences. The second time they were just trying to
- 38:55Speaker 2: play off of that. But they still established it. They
- 38:57Speaker 2: were still friends.
- 38:59Speaker 3: You know.
- 38:59Speaker 2: Here it wouldn't make any sense from from a storytelling point,
- 39:03Speaker 2: not that I know anything about storytelling.
- 39:05Speaker 3: But we saw it twice. When was the other time?
- 39:08Speaker 4: Yeah, we saw Kirk dying like that was the parallel?
- 39:12Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, yeah it was. It was a what do
- 39:15Speaker 1: they call that? A juxtaposition?
- 39:18Speaker 3: Look at you? Whoa whoa.
- 39:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I just took it. I just took a stab
- 39:24Speaker 1: in the dark on that one. I heard it a
- 39:26Speaker 1: couple of.
- 39:26Speaker 3: Times with the big words. Your mom watches these words
- 39:32Speaker 3: that you might not know what they actually mean because
- 39:34Speaker 3: you might say something bad.
- 39:37Speaker 1: That's right, I took I took it. I know it
- 39:39Speaker 1: was risky. I took it.
- 39:42Speaker 4: I think it's unlikely. That's guys. Risk is our business,
- 39:45Speaker 4: that's right.
- 39:46Speaker 1: Risk is part of the game.
- 39:47Speaker 4: You want to sit in that chair, Dan, what do
- 39:49Speaker 4: you think likely or likely, we're still doing this.
- 39:52Speaker 3: Okay, No, he's not gonna die. Unlikely.
- 39:59Speaker 4: Next one comes to is from Curtis from Facebook, the
- 40:02Speaker 4: refit maybe, so we get the refit.
- 40:04Speaker 1: If this was season five, I'd say maybe.
- 40:08Speaker 3: No, because the refit comes after Kirk has been in
- 40:12Speaker 3: command for five years or so.
- 40:14Speaker 1: I mean, even.
- 40:18Speaker 3: We are we are unshackled by common sense.
- 40:22Speaker 4: Yes, yes, so Scott, you're saying unlikely or like.
- 40:27Speaker 2: Unlikelylike, okay, yeah, I'm still saying unlikely.
- 40:30Speaker 4: I don't think this season, but I could see them
- 40:33Speaker 4: like season five, Kirk's taking over. They they can't help themselves.
- 40:39Speaker 4: We're gonna have a new design, you know. And yeah,
- 40:44Speaker 4: we're gonna have floating a z l's for no reason.
- 40:47Speaker 3: Stop stop the booze field rants is gonna start. Don't
- 40:55Speaker 3: make him angry. He would like angry. It's not It's
- 40:58Speaker 3: not booze.
- 40:59Speaker 4: It's therapy in a can, is what it is, right,
- 41:02Speaker 4: all right? Next one is Nigel's Saint Nigel on Instagram.
- 41:08Speaker 4: Half of the episodes will contradict canon and be terrible,
- 41:11Speaker 4: which technically that's a fifty percent run rate that half
- 41:14Speaker 4: of them would be good. So I'm gonna say that's amazing.
- 41:18Speaker 1: I put you.
- 41:21Speaker 3: I'm gonna say like, I'm gonna say likely as well,
- 41:24Speaker 3: because every single one of them has contradicted canon. That's right,
- 41:31Speaker 3: because it's a new timeline. Yeah, and then it's just
- 41:36Speaker 3: a numbers game. Half of them will be good, half
- 41:37Speaker 3: will be bad. Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna agree with that.
- 41:41Speaker 4: Scott, would you say likely or unlikely? I think it's likely, Okay,
- 41:47Speaker 4: uh that half the episode with Country to Cannon be terrible.
- 41:50Speaker 4: I'm gonna say unlikely. I think they'll all Country to
- 41:53Speaker 4: Cannon or the best Wow. Yeah, someone say unlikely?
- 41:59Speaker 3: I all right.
- 42:00Speaker 4: And our last one, this is the one I threw
- 42:02Speaker 4: in ends on a cliffhanger for season five.
- 42:05Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, of course I think they're going to try
- 42:10Speaker 1: to tell an overarching story between season four and season five.
- 42:14Speaker 1: I think Yeah, I think a lot with season four.
- 42:17Speaker 4: Yeah, I agree. I think it's pretty likely as well.
- 42:24Speaker 4: So that is all of our predictions, so we will
- 42:29Speaker 4: keep track of it as the season moves on.
- 42:31Speaker 3: Bonus bonus predictions bonus one, Bonus one. Somebody talked about
- 42:35Speaker 3: it somewhere, we see McCoy. I think it's likely. I
- 42:39Speaker 3: know he's confirmed for season.
- 42:42Speaker 4: Five seas Yeah.
- 42:43Speaker 3: Yeah, but since we believe that there will be an
- 42:48Speaker 3: overarching story and we believe there will be a cliffhanger,
- 42:51Speaker 3: I think he's going to be introduced and later in
- 42:55Speaker 3: the season of season four, if not the last episode,
- 42:59Speaker 3: if not the last scene.
- 43:01Speaker 4: Okay, when you say you we see him, though, do
- 43:04Speaker 4: you mean the actor will be standing there or like
- 43:08Speaker 4: on a hologram. Here's candidates who are gonna be replacing Timbaga.
- 43:12Speaker 4: You know, he's he's put in his resignation and he's
- 43:16Speaker 4: leaving soon, and so they're already going through.
- 43:18Speaker 3: I'm gonna say who's Who's it Thomas Jane. I'm I'm
- 43:24Speaker 3: gonna qualify it and say, we see Thomas Jane's face
- 43:29Speaker 3: on screen. Whether it's whether it's a picture of him
- 43:33Speaker 3: or whether it's live, live footage of him, it doesn't matter.
- 43:39Speaker 3: There's an image of Thomas Jane that we see.
- 43:43Speaker 4: God, that makes it more Yeah, that's that's more possible.
- 43:46Speaker 2: And didn't they film these seasons pretty much back to together. Yeah,
- 43:51Speaker 2: so it's not like he had to come in for
- 43:53Speaker 2: a scene and then have three months off and then
- 43:55Speaker 2: come back in. Right, it's more than likely. He was
- 43:58Speaker 2: already there for season one of episode one of season five.
- 44:01Speaker 2: I'm gonna says.
- 44:03Speaker 3: Post post production was was so long that you know,
- 44:06Speaker 3: he came in for season five and they they filmed
- 44:09Speaker 3: this one scene and sent it, sent him to the edit,
- 44:13Speaker 3: sent it to the editing room, and here put this
- 44:15Speaker 3: in last season.
- 44:16Speaker 4: Yeah, yep, stand in front of the green screen. We're
- 44:19Speaker 4: going to sparkly Medical.
- 44:20Speaker 3: We'll see exactly exactly.
- 44:22Speaker 4: It's not likely, unlikely, we seem cool.
- 44:24Speaker 1: Likely likely.
- 44:25Speaker 4: Likely.
- 44:26Speaker 1: He's gonna be played by who Thomas Jane.
- 44:29Speaker 3: Thomas Jane, he played the Punisher in the in the
- 44:32Speaker 3: early two thousand's movie, the first.
- 44:35Speaker 1: One with an older actor.
- 44:36Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna I can see your guys' point, but
- 44:39Speaker 4: I just I don't see it, mainly because an actor
- 44:43Speaker 4: of that level, you would have to pay him even
- 44:46Speaker 4: for just throwing his face up there, and I think
- 44:49Speaker 4: they got to watch their budgets and they can't. They
- 44:51Speaker 4: can't pay him for an extra episode if he's not
- 44:54Speaker 4: doing something.
- 44:55Speaker 3: I I have it on good authority that they ran
- 44:57Speaker 3: it by Leticia James.
- 44:59Speaker 4: And okay, so it's creating more jobs and they want
- 45:03Speaker 4: to fight that lawsuit I get it. I get it
- 45:05Speaker 4: all right. Any other bonus ones we want to throw
- 45:08Speaker 4: in here? You got any bonus ones?
- 45:10Speaker 1: Uh? No, No, I feel like I made my contribution.
- 45:15Speaker 4: Okay, I'm gonna throw in a bonus one. Okay, please
- 45:17Speaker 4: the drone fighters return, The drone fighters return. Remember there
- 45:24Speaker 4: was that episode of Disco where all of a sudden,
- 45:27Speaker 4: the Enterprise had all these like drone fighters that shot
- 45:29Speaker 4: out of it.
- 45:30Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I remember.
- 45:33Speaker 4: Yeah, the drone fighters return, You're unlikely.
- 45:37Speaker 3: I think that's unlikely. I think there was a collective
- 45:41Speaker 3: WTF when that happened.
- 45:43Speaker 4: And yeah, I could see them bringing them up, like
- 45:46Speaker 4: I don't think you need the whole squad out, but
- 45:48Speaker 4: maybe they use one like well, we'll use one.
- 45:50Speaker 3: Of our drone fighters to be a drone uh.
- 45:54Speaker 4: Some sort of you know device. Yeah, I can see it,
- 45:59Speaker 4: like they use it for something else.
- 46:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 46:01Speaker 3: You know what this makes me think?
- 46:03Speaker 1: My gut's saying unlikely. Okay, so I'm gonna go with
- 46:05Speaker 1: on like that.
- 46:06Speaker 3: How many years did they say over and over on
- 46:09Speaker 3: Star Treks launch a probe? Yeah, and we never saw
- 46:13Speaker 3: those probes, right, nobody knows what they look like. Yeah,
- 46:18Speaker 3: littered with Federation.
- 46:20Speaker 1: I know what they look like. Is I have the
- 46:21Speaker 1: Star Trek Generations technical manuals.
- 46:24Speaker 3: This guy, this guy.
- 46:26Speaker 1: If you want me to, I can show you a picture.
- 46:28Speaker 3: I'm gonna need a full power points. Yeah, I ain't
- 46:32Speaker 3: got to be distracted by This is a class two probe.
- 46:35Speaker 3: And this is a class three probe.
- 46:37Speaker 2: Well, anything above class three looks like a photon torpedo,
- 46:40Speaker 2: So okay, thank you.
- 46:41Speaker 3: How come they don't have a classy ass probe.
- 46:44Speaker 1: You should have a class as I want to.
- 46:47Speaker 3: I want to, I want to classless probe. Its pinky
- 46:53Speaker 3: old school bus that got converted. It's wearing like a
- 46:56Speaker 3: cheetah print jacket.
- 46:59Speaker 2: It's no my my classy probe. It speaks with the
- 47:03Speaker 2: mid Atlantic accent like there you go, card.
- 47:06Speaker 3: Nice commanda command. This is my probe.
- 47:10Speaker 1: Launch probe.
- 47:12Speaker 3: Yeah, class all right, all right, so we got the
- 47:17Speaker 3: all right, I'm gonna do one more, one more, let's see,
- 47:23Speaker 3: let's see, let's see.
- 47:24Speaker 1: Uh, they will.
- 47:26Speaker 3: Finally revisit the Siebock thread.
- 47:31Speaker 1: Oh god, no, please no, for the love of God,
- 47:34Speaker 1: is it with ther s?
- 47:36Speaker 4: Gets an s and I say yes, okay, I go unlikely.
- 47:41Speaker 2: Praying no unlikely. I hope and pray sibox because they
- 47:46Speaker 2: did mention him, didn't they?
- 47:47Speaker 4: Oh you know what, I got one.
- 47:48Speaker 1: I'm still gonna say unlikely, and that's just hopeful, wishful brain.
- 47:52Speaker 4: Captain Angel returns. Remember she was the uh the pirate
- 47:57Speaker 4: captain that took over the Enterprise.
- 47:59Speaker 3: Did you just this gender? He would you go sit
- 48:02Speaker 3: in the corner?
- 48:03Speaker 4: Okay?
- 48:04Speaker 1: Is she not?
- 48:05Speaker 3: I thought she was non binary.
- 48:08Speaker 1: I think she. I think they are non andy.
- 48:13Speaker 4: Okay, the captain, the Captain Angel returns period. I'll just
- 48:16Speaker 4: say that Captain Angels likely or unlikely?
- 48:20Speaker 1: Did they die? They didn't die?
- 48:22Speaker 3: Did they?
- 48:22Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 48:23Speaker 1: I know what season was that character? It was season one?
- 48:28Speaker 3: I say unlikely.
- 48:29Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, you just threw that on the left field.
- 48:31Speaker 1: But I can I can kind of see it happening, right.
- 48:35Speaker 4: They enjoyed the characters that people talk about it.
- 48:38Speaker 2: I'm gonna say likely. I don't say likely. I was
- 48:42Speaker 2: also mistaken. The only class of probe that looks like
- 48:46Speaker 2: a photon torpedo is the Class eight probe, as depicted
- 48:52Speaker 2: here in.
- 48:54Speaker 1: My technical manual.
- 48:56Speaker 3: Well, actually, okay.
- 48:58Speaker 1: So there you go.
- 48:59Speaker 2: Yeah, the class one, two, three, four, and then five six,
- 49:04Speaker 2: seven eight. The Class eight probe resembles a photon torpedo.
- 49:09Speaker 1: I think that deserves.
- 49:11Speaker 4: Warning warning, NERD alert, NERD alert.
- 49:16Speaker 3: Nice pocket protector's thank you. All right, one more, okay,
- 49:21Speaker 3: one more, all this all this binary non binary talk.
- 49:25Speaker 3: We are going to see the return of the binars.
- 49:30Speaker 3: But do you remember them boards came aboard the d
- 49:35Speaker 3: to to defrag the main computer and then took it
- 49:39Speaker 3: over or something.
- 49:40Speaker 4: I just I don't think that's happening, okay, unlikely, not
- 49:44Speaker 4: likely or unlikely.
- 49:47Speaker 1: My answer is zero one zero zero one one one
- 49:49Speaker 1: zero zero one one zero one one one one.
- 49:52Speaker 4: You can't say those words on the internet.
- 49:54Speaker 3: Yeah, your mom is listening, dude, yea, which is which
- 49:58Speaker 3: is binary for the word no, okay dan, likely or unlikely.
- 50:05Speaker 3: Just to show you guys how little I care anymore.
- 50:08Speaker 3: Uh No, they're coming, man, Okay.
- 50:10Speaker 1: They're gonna be the major threat, the main villain.
- 50:16Speaker 3: Main villain for main villain. It's gonna be over overarching
- 50:19Speaker 3: on We're.
- 50:20Speaker 1: Gonna get oh boy.
- 50:27Speaker 4: All right, Okay, that's that's all the predictions because all right,
- 50:31Speaker 4: oh thank god.
- 50:33Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't think I'm gonna win this year. I
- 50:35Speaker 3: don't know about this at all. Are we gonna win?
- 50:38Speaker 3: Are we gonna lose?
- 50:39Speaker 4: We'll see what happens, you know. But that's that's the
- 50:42Speaker 4: predictions for Stargery Stranger World season four. All right, we're
- 50:47Speaker 4: gonna go to listener feedback. If you want to join us,
- 50:50Speaker 4: X up in the chat and we'll go from there.
- 50:57Speaker 4: Listener feedback the same zip block bag.
- 50:59Speaker 1: I have my tech Nicole manuel In. I just happened
- 51:01Speaker 1: to have a Superman comic. And this is a funeral
- 51:06Speaker 1: for a friend. This is from It looks like March
- 51:09Speaker 1: of ninety two or ninety three. I need my glasses.
- 51:12Speaker 1: I don't have them. A dollar twenty five.
- 51:15Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, so okay, yeah, all right, if if you
- 51:20Speaker 4: want to join us, we are on social media all
- 51:24Speaker 4: the different social media's Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, acts, whatever they.
- 51:28Speaker 3: Active Grinder, yeah, grinder, tender, very active on Slender. Yeah,
- 51:35Speaker 3: very active on Grinder.
- 51:37Speaker 1: Yeah hot, hot or not or not?
- 51:41Speaker 4: Friends to MySpace, my Space, yeah yeah, asked jeeves, ask

- 51:52Speaker 4: we're Trekcast. And then also you guys leave us a voicemail.
- 51:57Speaker 4: Nobody's doing it. We needed, we need a voicemail. That's

- 52:17Speaker 4: We will play it. Absolutely.
- 52:18Speaker 1: Daniel's jasper for content, so you know.
- 52:20Speaker 3: That's right.
- 52:21Speaker 4: It makes it easier when I don't have to do
- 52:23Speaker 4: the content. Yeah, so help me.
- 52:26Speaker 1: Out, people if you want to tell us about your
- 52:28Speaker 1: g LP one journey or yeah in the nineties, or.
- 52:32Speaker 4: What only only you Can eat place did you go
- 52:34Speaker 4: to this week?
- 52:35Speaker 3: Yep, exactly. You wrote a poem and you were dying
- 52:39Speaker 3: for tens of people to listen to.
- 52:41Speaker 4: It, that's right, exactly, Yeah, when you're only a dozen
- 52:45Speaker 4: people to maybe listen to it. Yeah, all right, uh
- 52:51Speaker 4: we we got Jacob on the line, and let's bring
- 52:54Speaker 4: him on. All right, there he is, Hey, Jacob, how
- 52:58Speaker 4: are you doing?
- 53:00Speaker 3: You don't hear me? Yeah? Yeah, what's up?
- 53:02Speaker 1: Hey?
- 53:03Speaker 7: I was watching the Classic Van Boys last night.
- 53:06Speaker 4: Oh nice, it's a great movie.
- 53:09Speaker 5: I forget I forgot chatting that was in that movie.
- 53:11Speaker 3: That's right, Yeah, yeah, he is, I haven't seen that one.
- 53:16Speaker 7: It's actually free on YouTube.
- 53:18Speaker 3: All right.
- 53:20Speaker 7: Yeah, I considered that a Star Wars Star Trek crossover.
- 53:25Speaker 4: Yeah, absolutely, yeah, it's I do not.
- 53:27Speaker 7: Touch the hyper space button. They actually had a hyper
- 53:33Speaker 7: space button in the day, and he's liked, whatever you do,
- 53:36Speaker 7: do not press that button.
- 53:38Speaker 4: Wasn't that movie based on a true story, like some
- 53:41Speaker 4: guy was real sick and they were yeah.
- 53:46Speaker 7: Yeah ye nine and then they their friends die in
- 53:50Speaker 7: the movie and there's a better steal the Pantom Menace
- 53:53Speaker 7: the original copy.
- 53:55Speaker 3: Yeah. I think it realized the letter and they got
- 53:58Speaker 3: a Yeah. I think it was inspired by actual events.
- 54:01Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, I know a lot of famous actors that
- 54:04Speaker 7: Sam Huntington was in it.
- 54:05Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, in a while, do you'll think there'll be.
- 54:10Speaker 4: Any time oh in enter in uh instrans New Worlds.
- 54:14Speaker 7: Either season four or season five, being at the anniversary
- 54:17Speaker 7: is coming up. The usually have some kind of time
- 54:18Speaker 7: travel thing.
- 54:19Speaker 3: Mm hmm.
- 54:20Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean that's a pretty common Star Trek shrope.
- 54:23Speaker 4: Then within those like fifteen episodes, there's gotta be one
- 54:27Speaker 4: of them throws in time travel.
- 54:29Speaker 3: Yeah, so Grandpa, Grandpa Shatner is he's like ninety something, right, right, right,
- 54:37Speaker 3: so if he's going to return to Star Trek ever,
- 54:42Speaker 3: m hmm, this is it, you know, yes, yeah, if
- 54:46Speaker 3: it's gonna if it's gonna make any sense, this is
- 54:48Speaker 3: it right up. I'm still confident that he might he
- 54:54Speaker 3: might show up.
- 54:54Speaker 4: I'm really surprised he never showed up for a load
- 54:57Speaker 4: of that because it's just a voiceover.
- 54:59Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, yeah, they could have been a hologram or something.
- 55:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 55:03Speaker 7: Yeah, I noticed like the ninety Steaks they had Voyager
- 55:06Speaker 7: time Travel eighty six, the Voyage Home yeah, mm sixty
- 55:12Speaker 7: six they had current Spot and the crew went back
- 55:15Speaker 7: in time to the sixties yesterday Tomorrow Yesterday episode which.
- 55:20Speaker 4: Yeah, maybe the thing is, would you consider time travel
- 55:23Speaker 4: like if they're stuck in a time loop? You know,
- 55:26Speaker 4: like that often happens? Is that time travel?
- 55:29Speaker 2: Kind of in a way, it is, But we don't
- 55:31Speaker 2: consider that a traditional like cause and effect. We don't
- 55:33Speaker 2: consist that a time travel show.
- 55:36Speaker 3: Do you say it? When we do? You mean in
- 55:37Speaker 3: the Royal we like we watched.
- 55:41Speaker 1: Yeah, the three of us, you know people.
- 55:48Speaker 3: So here's here's what I'm a little bit worried about
- 55:50Speaker 3: with this show because we're only getting five seasons. Yeah,
- 55:56Speaker 3: and each season is what ten episodes something like that,
- 55:59Speaker 3: I think, especially six or yeah, so we're gonna have
- 56:06Speaker 3: like we're gonna have less than fifty episodes of this
- 56:10Speaker 3: show they have, they have so many threads that are
- 56:14Speaker 3: are hanging out there at hanging and I don't know,
- 56:19Speaker 3: I don't know if there's time to tug on all
- 56:22Speaker 3: of them. That that episode where Lone goes back to
- 56:26Speaker 3: Canada two thousand and twenty two or whatever it was, right,
- 56:30Speaker 3: you know, they they established a lot yeah in there
- 56:35Speaker 3: that could be used for future episodes, and we've seen
- 56:39Speaker 3: nothing since then.
- 56:43Speaker 7: Always for season five is that they have a proper,
- 56:45Speaker 7: proper ending show off, no cliffanger, just a proper no
- 56:49Speaker 7: rushing like Enterprise did.
- 56:51Speaker 1: Yeah, they should because they knew.
- 56:54Speaker 3: They've had plenty of time to think about it. They
- 56:56Speaker 3: got plenty of time if they If they don't do that,
- 56:59Speaker 3: I mean, there's no one to blame, but yeah, that's
- 57:01Speaker 3: their own fault.
- 57:02Speaker 7: But yeah, all right, Stark Academy, good ending, bad ending.
- 57:08Speaker 2: It's oh, it's still whether that's coming back out, if
- 57:12Speaker 2: season two is gonna be or not.
- 57:14Speaker 3: You know, you know, you know, we got we got
- 57:17Speaker 3: almost what time is it it's eleven oh three. We
- 57:21Speaker 3: got almost through this whole episode without men without mentioning
- 57:26Speaker 3: Starfleet Academy and then a new guy over here, so
- 57:32Speaker 3: thanks for that.
- 57:33Speaker 4: That's right.
- 57:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 57:40Speaker 4: Well, and the other thing is like, consider a good ending,
- 57:43Speaker 4: like the fact that it's over. Is that a good ending?
- 57:47Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 57:49Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 57:50Speaker 3: Yeah? All right, all right?
- 57:53Speaker 4: Well, uh we also got Chaz who was waiting on
- 57:56Speaker 4: the line, Jacobs, so let her bring him on. But
- 57:59Speaker 4: thanks for being on.
- 58:01Speaker 3: Take thanks for joining us.
- 58:05Speaker 4: Oh shoot, I got them off. Sorry, all right, So
- 58:09Speaker 4: back in the celestial Temple we've got chasber So there
- 58:13Speaker 4: he is. That's right with you?
- 58:16Speaker 3: Or walk with the prophets, whatever it is.
- 58:18Speaker 2: It's really have that heart. Yeah we did have that
- 58:21Speaker 2: heartbeat sound sound effect going on.
- 58:23Speaker 3: That's right, yeah.
- 58:26Speaker 8: Yeah yeah yeah, be giving predictions?
- 58:30Speaker 4: Yeah, so you got any predictions?
- 58:32Speaker 3: Jas Wiz?
- 58:33Speaker 1: Uh will the hold on?
- 58:36Speaker 8: Captain girlfriend?
- 58:38Speaker 1: Stat you be on the Enterprise. Oh it's not Captain Girlfriend,
- 58:43Speaker 1: it's Captain Lizard. God. What the hell? We're always got
- 58:48Speaker 1: like three things going on.
- 58:50Speaker 3: I forgot forgot, I forgot all about it.
- 58:53Speaker 1: She's got lizard DNA in her, She's got there's like
- 58:56Speaker 1: three different things that's going on with her that makes
- 58:58Speaker 1: her a super noun like born, you know, yeah, she's
- 59:02Speaker 1: got something else.
- 59:06Speaker 8: And then she turned in to remember his statue at
- 59:08Speaker 8: the end of the season.
- 59:09Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 59:10Speaker 4: The idea that like Pike goes into his into his
- 59:15Speaker 4: quarters and there's the statue of his girlfriend and it's
- 59:18Speaker 4: like become a thing where like he tosses his jacket
- 59:20Speaker 4: on it, you know what I mean.
- 59:23Speaker 3: There, it's like it's like she's like a peloton.
- 59:29Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, you do not use it at all for
- 59:32Speaker 4: what it's supposed to be.
- 59:34Speaker 1: So she belongs in a you know what, a mausoleum
- 59:38Speaker 1: or something, but in the stadiums, like.
- 59:41Speaker 3: Yeah, she belongs in a museum.
- 59:45Speaker 4: Oh yeah, No, I don't. I don't think we're getting
- 59:48Speaker 4: captain girlfriend.
- 59:48Speaker 1: And I forgot, Yeah she died, didn't she did? She?
- 59:51Speaker 4: I thought she was stuck in that uh, the same thing. Yeah,
- 59:54Speaker 4: because she's watching out for the for the evil goes
- 59:56Speaker 4: yes statue.
- 59:58Speaker 3: I gotta I gotta rewatch this this season because I
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: don't remember anything.
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: I'm gonna have to rewatch the season too because I don't. Yeah,
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: I'm like, what did appen.
- 1:00:06Speaker 4: The way we're describing it, it sounds like you need
- 1:00:08Speaker 4: to watch it while you're high.
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: That's the only way.
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: I was.
- 1:00:13Speaker 4: I was looking.
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: I'm like, it seems like it's been a long time,
- 1:00:16Speaker 2: yet not that long ago, because I remember it doesn't
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: seem like that long ago. When we were watching the
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: preview for the Vulcan episode and I'm like, oh, that's
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: and I was watching an old preview of that Vulcan episode.
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, I can't wait to wait a minute.
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: I already watched that. That was last year. Yeah, so yeah,
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: I don't know if that's a good thing or a
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: bad thing, or it's the.
- 1:00:39Speaker 4: Amount of constant we consume as people like none of
- 1:00:41Speaker 4: it sticks.
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: The only episode of Stranger World which I remember is
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: the crossover them.
- 1:00:47Speaker 8: Yeah, that's things that these series are so short. They
- 1:00:49Speaker 8: only had episodes, and then they'll premiere them with two episodes,
- 1:00:54Speaker 8: so you lose a week. So really the week's only
- 1:00:56Speaker 8: maybe six.
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: According to I D be the the there's gonna be
- 1:01:02Speaker 2: ten episodes and there's only gonna be one episode for
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: this this coming Thursday.
- 1:01:07Speaker 8: That's okay, so well, at least get ten weeks content,
- 1:01:10Speaker 8: so yeah, right, more weeks that's right, that's right.
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: Yeah, before we take a break and say we've had enough, yeah.
- 1:01:20Speaker 8: Or better yet, you guys could take a break and
- 1:01:22Speaker 8: review Spider Man in two weeks.
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: Oh, I can't wait for that movie, so looking forward
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: to it.
- 1:01:28Speaker 4: I want to go see the Odyssey. But every time
- 1:01:31Speaker 4: I look up the times and like how long it is,
- 1:01:34Speaker 4: and I just cannot commit four hours to the theater. Yeah,
- 1:01:37Speaker 4: because it's like a three hour movie plus like half
- 1:01:40Speaker 4: an hour or whatever. Yea of previews, like a full shift. Man,
- 1:01:44Speaker 4: I don't have time this.
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:01:45Speaker 8: The worst is if you miss like the previews, like
- 1:01:50Speaker 8: you miss judge them, like sometimes they sometimes not do
- 1:01:52Speaker 8: thirty minutes sometimes.
- 1:01:54Speaker 5: Ten minute reviews, and you show up light and you.
- 1:01:56Speaker 8: Miss twenty minutes of the movie.
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the worst.
- 1:01:59Speaker 8: Yeah, that's that happened to me last year.
- 1:02:03Speaker 3: Superman.
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: So oh yeah, because it was like a sneak peak.
- 1:02:09Speaker 8: I think it was the week before Superman premiered and
- 1:02:13Speaker 8: they only had five minutes of previous What is it?
- 1:02:15Speaker 4: There's there's the uh, there's a notifications going around that
- 1:02:19Speaker 4: like if you want to watch this movie the way
- 1:02:21Speaker 4: Nolan intended, which is an imax seventy millimeter. There's only
- 1:02:25Speaker 4: like forty theaters in the world that you can do that. Yes,
- 1:02:30Speaker 4: it's crazy.
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: Yeah, those are the big imax right right right, you
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: probably have one in this We have an IX.
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: Theater in our town.
- 1:02:38Speaker 8: But you gotta see if it's it's there's faux imax,
- 1:02:41Speaker 8: so yeah, well, im it's not logo, but.
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: They won't have like seventy millimeters.
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:02:48Speaker 4: Yeah, like there's forty of them in the world, in
- 1:02:50Speaker 4: like twenty six of them are in LA or California
- 1:02:54Speaker 4: or like that area.
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, that's true.
- 1:02:57Speaker 4: Yeah, it's just it's not gonna happen. But oh oh
- 1:03:01Speaker 4: we got somebody else sexing up right now. That's interesting.
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: Oh oh no, I'm stars. Yeah.
- 1:03:09Speaker 4: Doctor girlfriend is on her way.
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: Doctor, I keep saying doctor girlfriend, Captain girlfriend.
- 1:03:16Speaker 4: Kathin girlfriend is on her way for sure.
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: Be well thanks thanks for joining us everybody. It's been
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: fun feeling up.
- 1:03:26Speaker 4: Next up yeah yeah, let's see she comes on. Yeah yeah,
- 1:03:33Speaker 4: all right, well thanks Jess Viz see you next week. Yeah, well,
- 1:03:41Speaker 4: I'll give it a moment, see what happens here she
- 1:03:44Speaker 4: comes on, but uh yeah, oh man, uh we're working
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: on another special show that we might be throwing out.
- 1:03:52Speaker 4: I don't want to say anything yet too much about
- 1:03:53Speaker 4: who it could be. But uh, I think if we
- 1:03:56Speaker 4: get it, you guys will like it. Oh, here we go.
- 1:04:00Speaker 4: Here's our last caller. Let's let's bring her in.
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: There she is.
- 1:04:05Speaker 5: Hey, Hey, hey, I'm multitasking time.
- 1:04:11Speaker 4: Oh nice.
- 1:04:12Speaker 3: We we thought Scott might be in trouble.
- 1:04:16Speaker 5: Okay, except for the fact that I'm burning the bacon.
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: Okay, okay, hey does U does Scott?
- 1:04:23Speaker 3: Does Scott get any of that bacon? We know for
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: a fact he's bringing sex.
- 1:04:27Speaker 4: So okay, what does he get?
- 1:04:29Speaker 3: One?
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: He can have the bacon, Scott, you can have you
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: can have to.
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: I worked it out for you. You can have to.
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: I appreciate that, Dan, I appreciate that.
- 1:04:43Speaker 9: Man.
- 1:04:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: So, did you come on just to tease me about food?
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: Or do you have something to contribute to the show.
- 1:04:50Speaker 3: Wow, you're gonna be contributing to the couch tonight again.
- 1:04:57Speaker 4: We get jokes on the show, buddy, but after this
- 1:05:00Speaker 4: you gotta go live with that, so you gotta be's.
- 1:05:08Speaker 5: I had something to contribute? I have a prediction.
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: Okay, make make another column.
- 1:05:15Speaker 5: I got it one more? Okay, ready?
- 1:05:19Speaker 4: Yeah, yes, okay, I have a prediction that Scott and.
- 1:05:25Speaker 10: I will make it through the original series by the
- 1:05:30Speaker 10: time the last episode of Strange New World is done.
- 1:05:36Speaker 3: Never gonna happen this season.
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: What was the last time we saw it, watched an
- 1:05:42Speaker 2: episode of the original series, Probably a couple of years,
- 1:05:48Speaker 2: at least a year.
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: We have ten weeks to finish a season and a
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: half of the original series.
- 1:05:54Speaker 5: Well, that depends on how Yeah, I.
- 1:05:56Speaker 4: Gotta go unlikely for that one can't luckily do.
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: But we're still gonna try.
- 1:06:03Speaker 4: Okay, Okay, you're gonna say unlikely as well, Scott.
- 1:06:08Speaker 5: We're somewhere in season two right now. O.
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: Yeah, you'll change likely and then and then that'll give
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: me some incentive. There you go, there you go, there
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: you go, all right, because, like the original series is
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: important to have watched, because we're watching the beginnings.
- 1:06:26Speaker 4: So then that way you can be justified in your
- 1:06:27Speaker 4: anger when it doesn't connect.
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: That's right exactly. I like it.
- 1:06:31Speaker 4: Yeah, perfect, all right, all right, Well, thanks for being on.
- 1:06:38Speaker 4: I think we should just call it there. We're good,
- 1:06:41Speaker 4: and we'll catch you guys next week with the premiere
- 1:06:45Speaker 4: Star Trek Season four or st the World Season four
- 1:06:48Speaker 4: sounds good.
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: All right, bye guy.
