- 0:02Speaker 1: Here's your host, Alex Garrett. All right, well, for the
- 0:08Speaker 1: first time in the 57-year history of the Milwaukee Brewers,
- 0:12Speaker 1: they are world champions after a, I would say, a
- 0:18Speaker 1: pretty solid win last night. Miz on the mound. You
- 0:23Speaker 1: couldn't write that script any better for Mizorowski to be
- 0:25Speaker 1: the starting pitcher of the World Series clincher because he's
- 0:28Speaker 1: one of the main reasons they got there. to the postseason,
- 0:31Speaker 1: to the 100-plus win year, and now to the World Series.
- 0:36Speaker 1: I am so conflicted on this because sometimes I want
- 0:41Speaker 1: the team with the most wins to be knocked off.
- 0:43Speaker 1: That would be such a very interesting thriller. But in
- 0:46Speaker 1: some years, having the team with the best record win
- 0:48Speaker 1: it all just feels right. And with the Milwaukee Brewers,
- 0:52Speaker 1: they were not a fluke. That 100-plus win year is
- 0:56Speaker 1: not a fluke. And I think that's important to note,
- 1:00Speaker 1: that it wasn't just a lucky 100-plus win year. No,
- 1:04Speaker 1: Pat Murphy worked his guys, and look at what they've
- 1:07Speaker 1: had after years of oustings from every, minus the World Series,
- 1:16Speaker 1: every other level in the postseason. LDS, Wild Card, LCS.
- 1:22Speaker 1: They pushed through all of it. They mowed through all
- 1:24Speaker 1: of it, really, and won the World Series. And you
- 1:28Speaker 1: know who I'm really happy for here at One Look
- 1:30Speaker 1: Up Alex Media? Christian Jelic. When he was traded or
- 1:36Speaker 1: let go by the Marlins and sent to the Brewers,
- 1:39Speaker 1: he was one of three that were let go during
- 1:41Speaker 1: the Jeter era. And, of course, we all know Giancarlo
- 1:46Speaker 1: went to the Yankees. But after getting, you know, sent
- 1:50Speaker 1: away by the Marlins to Milwaukee, Jelic really thrived. I
- 1:56Speaker 1: believe he had an MVP year. a couple years after
- 1:58Speaker 1: leaving Miami. But he hadn't been at that World Series
- 2:02Speaker 1: level yet. But here he is, a World Series champion,
- 2:07Speaker 1: the first Brewers captain ever. How can you not be
- 2:10Speaker 1: happy for him? And I don't know, from a New
- 2:13Speaker 1: York standpoint, you look at this and say, well, if
- 2:16Speaker 1: Christian Jelic, who's been blood, sweat, and tears all these
- 2:20Speaker 1: years trying to get that ring, finally getting it, why
- 2:24Speaker 1: not Aaron Judge down the road? It is possible. Christian
- 2:30Speaker 1: Jelic was on a team that was eliminated year after
- 2:32Speaker 1: year in, as I mentioned, every level of postseason. But
- 2:36Speaker 1: finally this year, this team just clicked. William Contreras, who
- 2:41Speaker 1: was actually on Venezuela for the World Baseball Classic, winning
- 2:45Speaker 1: both the WBC and the World Series and MVP of
- 2:48Speaker 1: the World Series. And then, of course, another Yankee tie.
- 2:53Speaker 1: There are two of them. Gary Sanchez, El Gary winning
- 2:57Speaker 1: the ring. After his struggles in New York, he won
- 3:00Speaker 1: the ring in Milwaukee. Good for him. But what about
- 3:04Speaker 1: Jake Bowers? You know, I remember watching Jake Bowers as
- 3:07Speaker 1: a Yankee, cranking out homer after homer. I mean, he
- 3:10Speaker 1: had a good stretch there, I believe in 2023. So
- 3:14Speaker 1: when Pat Murphy said this to him yesterday, after winning
- 3:17Speaker 1: the World Series, some would say the Yankees caught strays,
- 3:21Speaker 1: dragged through this World Series win. But I happen to
- 3:25Speaker 1: think what Pat Murphy said, even though I don't know
- 3:29Speaker 1: if Jake's actually going to come back, maybe he does
- 3:33Speaker 1: inspire the Yanks to sign him. Because look, the Yanks
- 3:36Speaker 1: still need hitting. And Jake Bowers, his postseason presence, his
- 3:42Speaker 1: year-long presence was there. And he's been consistent with Milwaukee
- 3:50Speaker 1: since he got there. And I guess, you know, Lou
- 3:53Speaker 1: Terminello told me on the air that, you know, he
- 3:56Speaker 1: was almost retired from the game, but he came back
- 3:58Speaker 1: because he had to get working again. And now he
- 4:00Speaker 1: works his way to the World Series. How cool is that?
- 4:02Speaker 1: And wins the World Series. But here's the viral moment
- 4:05Speaker 1: everybody's been posting about, both Yankee fans and baseball fans.
- 4:10Speaker 1: And as they've been saying on social media, the Yankees
- 4:12Speaker 1: caught strays last night. But you take a listen and
- 4:15Speaker 1: decide that. I mean, look, he basically said you guys
- 4:24Speaker 1: automatically swing 3-0 and 3-1 on the Yankees. And you're
- 4:52Speaker 1: all in it for yourselves. And I've often thought when
- 4:56Speaker 1: the Yankees get all these high-paying guys on one team,
- 4:59Speaker 1: it could become that. Sometimes, okay, cohesiveness is not there.
- 5:05Speaker 1: But I think the bigger question is, does Jake Bowers
- 5:08Speaker 1: come back to the Yankees? And, you know, Scott Boris
- 5:13Speaker 1: isn't an agent, but I think after winning the World Series,
- 5:16Speaker 1: he will hit the market at a very, very high
- 5:19Speaker 1: price right now. And I... Look, I'd love to see
- 5:23Speaker 1: him back in pinstripes. This lineup needs a boost. This
- 5:27Speaker 1: lineup needs a boost. Lockout looming aside, this lineup needs
- 5:32Speaker 1: a boost, and I would love to have Jake Bowers back.
- 5:34Speaker 1: I liked him when he was a Yankee. Maybe having
- 5:36Speaker 1: that World Series presence now could give that another element
- 5:41Speaker 1: to a Yankee lineup that did get eliminated by these Rays.
- 5:48Speaker 2: And.
- 5:50Speaker 1: You know, Drew Rasmussen, by the way, I'm feeling back
- 5:53Speaker 1: to 2009 when I first started this podcast on college
- 5:57Speaker 1: radio talking about the Yanks winning the World Series 17
- 5:59Speaker 1: years ago. I'm still doing it 17 years later, talking
- 6:02Speaker 1: about the World Series on a platform. At one leg
- 6:06Speaker 1: of Alex Media, it's kind of surreal in a way
- 6:08Speaker 1: when you think about it to still be here talking
- 6:10Speaker 1: sports like that with you. But I digress. But I digress.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Drew Rasmussen is a very interesting case because obviously... He
- 6:21Speaker 1: was one of the best, if not the best pitcher
- 6:24Speaker 1: for the Rays this year, pitching on three days rest.
- 6:27Speaker 1: He shut out the Yankees in pretty dominant fashion, then
- 6:31Speaker 1: gets roughed up by the Guardians, and everybody's like, see,
- 6:33Speaker 1: the Yanks just couldn't hit him, and he's not that
- 6:35Speaker 1: good of a pitcher, blah, blah, blah, blah. There's a
- 6:37Speaker 1: reason why Kevin Cash started him on three days rest,
- 6:39Speaker 1: to try and salvage the series and push it back
- 6:41Speaker 1: to Milwaukee. So I say interesting because here in New York,
- 6:52Speaker 1: I think we all were watching how these other teams
- 6:54Speaker 1: were going to hit him and say, wow, the Yanks
- 6:56Speaker 1: could do it, but these other teams could. Well, actually,
- 6:59Speaker 1: he did okay last night. He did not do terrible.
- 7:02Speaker 1: There were some weird base running mistakes by the Brewers also.
- 7:06Speaker 1: And then I didn't think him shutting out the Yankees
- 7:11Speaker 1: was a total fluke is what I'm trying to say.
- 7:13Speaker 1: I think he's a great pitcher. Maybe not Cy Young worthy.
- 7:18Speaker 1: That's Cam Schlittler this year. But he's up. He is
- 7:21Speaker 1: a good pitcher, and he leads a rotation that could
- 7:26Speaker 1: continue this kind of dominance down the road. But to
- 7:31Speaker 1: say it was all the Yanks' fault for not hitting him,
- 7:34Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't think that's a fair assessment.
- 7:36Speaker 1: I think he was damn good for the Rays. all
- 7:40Speaker 1: year long. But Ryan and I were watching this game
- 7:42Speaker 1: last night and I said, you watch. If the Brewers
- 7:45Speaker 1: light up Rasmussen, all New York's going to say, see,
- 7:47Speaker 1: why couldn't the Yanks do that? That's how we are
- 7:49Speaker 1: in New York City. There's no doubt about it. But, but,
- 7:54Speaker 1: it wasn't the case. He actually pitched all right. And
- 7:56Speaker 1: then Miz, getting the start after they lost game now
- 8:05Speaker 1: it's argued that if there was no error committed in
- 8:06Speaker 1: the 12th inning, the Rays would have lost four straight
- 8:10Speaker 1: to the Brewers. I do believe they could have gotten
- 8:12Speaker 1: swept instead of the walk-off. But that's besides the point.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Miz starting Game 5 of the World Series. You know,
- 8:23Speaker 1: I remember last year, there was a lot of criticism
- 8:27Speaker 1: that he started the All-Star Game as a rookie. I mean,
- 8:30Speaker 1: there was a lot of like, why is Miz in there, right?
- 8:32Speaker 1: You know, But look at a year and a half later,
- 8:35Speaker 1: he shows why he deserved to be that NL starter
- 8:37Speaker 1: last year, and he has shown the league that he
- 8:40Speaker 1: is here to stay. Do I like him cranking out
- 8:43Speaker 1: 100 miles an hour each pitch? That's going to screw
- 8:47Speaker 1: up his arm. I almost cursed there. That's going to
- 8:49Speaker 1: screw up his arm. If you keep launching it, and
- 8:52Speaker 1: I think he only won five and two-thirds yesterday. I
- 8:54Speaker 1: was hoping he'd go a little longer in that clincher,
- 8:56Speaker 1: but Pat Murphy's still kind of nursing him along. They're
- 9:01Speaker 1: not ready to let him go six or seven innings.
- 9:04Speaker 1: We saw that in the NLCS. We see it again
- 9:05Speaker 1: last night. And when he throws 100-plus out of the gate, yeah,
- 9:12Speaker 1: you're going to worry about his arm through the game. Because,
- 9:16Speaker 1: I mean, it's not just one inning. I think he
- 9:18Speaker 1: pretty much threw in the hundreds consistently every time out.
- 9:24Speaker 1: And that is.
- 9:28Speaker 1: I don't want to say detrimental to him down the road,
- 9:29Speaker 1: but it could be. It really could be. I hope
- 9:31Speaker 1: it's not. I hope he has a long-lasting career. He
- 9:34Speaker 1: gets his ring now in his, what, first or second
- 9:38Speaker 1: full season as a brewer. But I do hope for him.
- 9:43Speaker 1: But why I bring that up is last night there
- 9:45Speaker 1: was a lot of weird sliding on the mound, which
- 9:48Speaker 1: I didn't really understand. His foot was not properly settled.
- 9:53Speaker 1: Kept sliding up, but they had to keep fixing the mound.
- 9:55Speaker 1: It was very odd. last night to see that. But
- 10:00Speaker 1: he persevered. He did what he had to do with
- 10:03Speaker 1: the Rays. And now, I believe they said 400,000 fans
- 10:09Speaker 1: will hit Milwaukee's streets for a parade tomorrow. Now, that's
- 10:12Speaker 1: not two million for the Knicks, but you can sort
- 10:16Speaker 1: of sense a parallel between the both of them. You
- 10:19Speaker 1: can sense a parallel how much New York City wanted
- 10:21Speaker 1: the Knicks to win or were craving that Knicks championship.
- 10:24Speaker 1: We all hadn't seen it in our lifetimes. And I
- 10:28Speaker 1: see a parallel to Milwaukee loving on the Brewers and
- 10:36Speaker 1: emotionally connecting with this. People hadn't seen it in 82,
- 10:40Speaker 1: finally seeing it. Kids who had never been born in 82,
- 10:44Speaker 1: finally seeing the Brewers do something. I saw a kid
- 10:46Speaker 1: crying on social media last night that this team won.
- 10:52Speaker 1: So I said on my Instagram story there were two.
- 10:57Speaker 1: It's just been a historic year. It's just been a
- 11:01Speaker 1: historic year. Whether in a big city in New York
- 11:04Speaker 1: City or a small market like Milwaukee, the emotions are
- 11:10Speaker 1: the same because both teams had never won it in
- 11:14Speaker 1: our lifetimes. Now the Knicks had won twice. This was
- 11:18Speaker 1: the Brewers' first ever franchise victory. World Series victory. But
- 11:24Speaker 1: the emotions are very similar. The crowding of the streets
- 11:28Speaker 1: in Milwaukee reminded me of the crowding of the streets
- 11:31Speaker 1: in New York City just months earlier. So it is
- 11:39Speaker 1: good to see New Blood winning these championships and these titles.
- 11:46Speaker 1: And I know I mentioned my connection to Bob Uecker
- 11:52Speaker 1: before but I want to also say last night winning
- 11:55Speaker 1: for Ueck heavily reminded me of my dad revering him
- 12:00Speaker 1: I mean every time we'd have lunch or something my
- 12:02Speaker 1: dad would always be like pull up the Bob Uecker
- 12:05Speaker 1: Hall of Fame speech and I did and I love
- 12:09Speaker 1: that speech I'm going to link it in the description
- 12:10Speaker 1: below but I'm sure my dad and Bob Uecker are
- 12:16Speaker 1: having a whale of a time I'm sure you know
- 12:24Speaker 1: Bob's up there in the upper deck, again, watching from afar.
- 12:33Speaker 1: And I just can't believe a year after he passed,
- 12:35Speaker 1: they win it. That's sportuality right there. I've mentioned that
- 12:40Speaker 1: term before, but that is sports and spirituality mixed in one.
- 12:45Speaker 1: And they won it for Bob Uecker. They won it
- 12:47Speaker 1: for Uecker. And I love that. And Pat Murphy, every
- 12:52Speaker 1: time they won a series... So I got a text
- 12:54Speaker 1: message from Bob Buecher. How cool is that? How cool
- 13:00Speaker 1: is that? But yes. Do I think this is going
- 13:09Speaker 1: to be a lockout saving, you know, lockout, stop the
- 13:16Speaker 1: lockout from happening? I don't know. But I do think
- 13:20Speaker 1: it gives an answer that if the Brewers can do it,
- 13:23Speaker 1: Any small market team can. Why not the Rays down
- 13:28Speaker 1: the road? Why not the Rockies? You know, the Rockies
- 13:32Speaker 1: are another weird team that they just have not... They
- 13:35Speaker 1: had that 0-7 stretch. And it was in 0-7, of course,
- 13:41Speaker 1: they made the World Series that year and lost to Boston.
- 13:44Speaker 1: But still. But still. That was a special time for Colorado.
- 13:51Speaker 1: For Colorado. Pittsburgh, another team that hasn't won it in decades, right?
- 13:56Speaker 1: I mean, they've not won it, I don't think... Last
- 13:59Speaker 1: time I remember hearing about it was at 1960, Bill
- 14:02Speaker 1: Mazeroski home. These market teams can shine. And you know why?
- 14:10Speaker 1: Because they do fundamentally right. They do it fundamentally correctly.
- 14:19Speaker 1: And sometimes they do it better than the bigger... payrolls,
- 14:25Speaker 1: who do, as Pat Murphy said, automatically swing on three
- 14:29Speaker 1: and one and think that's enough. Like, you know, it just...
- 14:32Speaker 1: On that same turf in Tampa, we saw the Yankees
- 14:40Speaker 1: make five errors. Five errors in game two of that
- 14:44Speaker 1: LDS this year. That wasn't fundamentally sound baseball. The Rays...
- 14:51Speaker 1: For most of the year, played fundamentally sound baseball. I
- 14:56Speaker 1: just think the Brewers had their number and had everybody's
- 14:58Speaker 1: number this year. And so I'm happy for Milwaukee. And
- 15:02Speaker 1: I love seeing the emotional parallel between how Milwaukee's reacting
- 15:06Speaker 1: to this World Series and how we reacted to the
- 15:08Speaker 1: NBA Finals. And how we reacted to the Knicks winning
- 15:12Speaker 1: for the first time in 53 years. And at Kettle
- 15:19Speaker 1: and Fish, you could barely get in In downtown Manhattan,
- 15:21Speaker 1: it's a brewer's bar. Hell, if Miz goes over there,
- 15:25Speaker 1: I will definitely go and grab a picture with him
- 15:27Speaker 1: if they do something. Even with Yellich, when the brewers
- 15:30Speaker 1: are in town, you know?
- 15:31Speaker 3: Because they are not only world champions, but they just,
- 15:42Speaker 3: their stories are intriguing.
- 15:46Speaker 1: Adam Jake Bowers does opt out of Milwaukee, which I
- 15:49Speaker 1: don't know if he will. I love him in New York.
- 15:56Speaker 1: I love him in New York. But the point is,
- 15:59Speaker 1: for the Yanks to get dragged in this is kind
- 16:00Speaker 1: of hilarious. And should inspire the Yanks to make some
- 16:06Speaker 1: moves this offseason to get where the Brewers are now.
- 16:12Speaker 1: And win 28. Because... If the Brewers could do it,
- 16:22Speaker 1: why not the Yanks again? If the Brewers could do it,
- 16:25Speaker 1: why not the other small market teams? It feels like
- 16:29Speaker 1: a moment where you could say if the Milwaukee Brewers
- 16:32Speaker 1: could go from being eliminated eight of the last nine
- 16:34Speaker 1: years to this happening for them, then any team can
- 16:41Speaker 1: be revitalized and move forward with the right people in place.
- 16:49Speaker 1: And if you talk about Brewers... I think about CeCe
- 16:54Speaker 1: Sabathia a lot. I think about how he was part
- 16:57Speaker 1: of the resurgence of this team. In 08, they made
- 17:00Speaker 1: the postseason for the first time since 1982. That was
- 17:04Speaker 1: because CeCe Sabathia's left arm willed that team in, along
- 17:09Speaker 1: with Ryan Braun, along with Prince Fielder, and I'll say
- 17:12Speaker 1: it again, I've said it before, they walked so that Churio, Jelic, Contreras, Pratt,
- 17:21Speaker 1: Jake Bowers can run to the Commissioner's Trophy. Congratulations to
- 17:27Speaker 1: the Milwaukee Brewers. And to all baseball fans, we saw
- 17:33Speaker 1: history together. We are here to see a team win
- 17:37Speaker 1: the World Series for the first time ever. And though
- 17:43Speaker 1: that other series was not as intriguing with the Rangers
- 17:46Speaker 1: and Diamondbacks, the Rangers winning their first World Series ever,
- 17:50Speaker 1: just three years ago. How can you say when your
- 17:57Speaker 1: team's not in the World Series, I'm not going to
- 17:59Speaker 1: watch it? I think that's the most ridiculous thing ever.
- 18:01Speaker 1: You know why? Because if you're a baseball fan beyond
- 18:05Speaker 1: your team, you miss out on history if you don't
- 18:09Speaker 1: watch once your team's eliminated. I think you almost just
- 18:15Speaker 1: have to just keep watching. Because things like this Keep unfolding.
- 18:22Speaker 1: As a baseball fan, beyond a Yankee fan, that gets
- 18:27Speaker 1: me excited to just keep watching these teams thrive and
- 18:31Speaker 1: grow and build. And of course, how can I be
- 18:37Speaker 1: remiss if I didn't think about this today as well?
- 18:43Speaker 1: Everybody's been complaining about David Stearns, and yes, he should
- 18:45Speaker 1: have offered Alonzo a contract. But this was David Stern's
- 18:50Speaker 1: team as well, for the most part. And they won
- 18:53Speaker 1: a World Series, yeah, a couple years after his departure.
- 18:56Speaker 1: But they won a World Series, and he was the
- 18:59Speaker 1: architect of this. So Mets fans, maybe have a little
- 19:03Speaker 1: patience with the guy. He might not get it right now,
- 19:07Speaker 1: but maybe he knows what he's doing. Just we don't
- 19:11Speaker 1: see it yet, but maybe he knows what he's doing.
- 19:15Speaker 1: At least that's what Mets fans can hope. and take
- 19:18Speaker 1: away from the Brewers win the World Series. Ron, you
- 19:20Speaker 1: want to chime in?
- 19:21Speaker 4: Yeah, just while you were going on that whole monologue
- 19:24Speaker 4: about David Stearns, just something I want to point out.
- 19:26Speaker 4: And yeah, you're absolutely correct that Stearns, he built the
- 19:30Speaker 4: foundation for that Brewers team. And actually, when they went
- 19:36Speaker 4: to the World Series, and shout out to just underscore
- 19:39Speaker 4: Mets on X for this, over half of the championship roster,
- 19:44Speaker 4: really the LCS roster, were.
- 19:47Speaker 2: David Stern's additions.
- 19:49Speaker 4: Eight of nine members of their starting lineup, their number
- 19:52Speaker 4: one and three starting pitchers, their.
- 19:54Speaker 2: Seventh inning man, set of men, and closer.
- 19:56Speaker 4: And let's not forget, too, that when Craig Council left
- 19:58Speaker 4: for the Cubs, Pat Murphy was also technically a David
- 20:03Speaker 4: Stern's addition, too.
- 20:04Speaker 2: He brought him into the And he.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Just signed Andy Green to a three-year deal, so what
- 20:08Speaker 1: can I tell you about that?
- 20:10Speaker 4: Yeah, and I mean, there's a whole, there's a lot
- 20:13Speaker 4: more to this with, and I'm sure you've probably heard
- 20:16Speaker 4: of this, Alex, that Brody Van Wagenen back in 2020
- 20:19Speaker 4: wanted Pat Murphy before they went with Beltran and that
- 20:23Speaker 4: whole mess that they made.
- 20:25Speaker 2: So, I don't know, it kind of makes you wonder, really,
- 20:29Speaker 2: about these Brewers, man. I mean, they'll lose these big additions.
- 20:35Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
- 20:36Speaker 2: But it's not even a big deal to them.
- 20:38Speaker 1: At all.
- 20:38Speaker 4: Like, you see Craig Council leave for Chicago. You see
- 20:41Speaker 4: David Stearns leave for New York. And they're fine with
- 20:44Speaker 4: that one.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Simple as that.
- 20:46Speaker 4: I mean, even last offseason with Freddy Peralta, trading him
- 20:49Speaker 4: for Brandon Sproat, who, I mean, he pitched in the
- 20:53Speaker 4: big league club for the Brewers, really didn't do that
- 20:55Speaker 4: much for them, and I believe he wasn't even.
- 20:57Speaker 2: On their playoff roster, but still a promising young arm.
- 21:01Speaker 4: Jed Williams hasn't even made his debut yet, so the
- 21:03Speaker 4: jury's very much still out on him, but it says
- 21:06Speaker 4: a lot when you could trade a young candidate like
- 21:09Speaker 4: Freddy Peralta and still, for two guys that wouldn't even
- 21:13Speaker 4: make an impact on the title run, and they're still
- 21:17Speaker 4: winning a title.
- 21:18Speaker 2: It makes you wonder.
- 21:20Speaker 1: And then you're in awe because Daniel Vogelbeck is the
- 21:23Speaker 1: hitting coach that won the World Series with the Brewers.
- 21:27Speaker 1: And I remember him running the bases as a fat
- 21:29Speaker 1: guy on the base. I loved it. I loved the
- 21:31Speaker 1: energy of Daniel Vogelbeck. And, um, Yeah. And I know
- 21:38Speaker 1: you did a podcast about this as well, so where
- 21:40Speaker 1: can people find it? Oh, yeah.
- 21:41Speaker 2: Pag's Perspective. I just talked about this a matter of
- 21:44Speaker 2: hours ago.
- 21:45Speaker 4: And I really wanted to focus on why the Brewers
- 21:49Speaker 4: and winning the World Series is both good and bad
- 21:52Speaker 4: for the sport of baseball. I'm trying to keep it
- 21:54Speaker 4: as neutral as possible, but you can find it on
- 21:56Speaker 4: my own show as well, Pag's Perspective.
- 21:59Speaker 2: And you can, of course, get it on Spreaker, the
- 22:01Speaker 2: home base.com.
- 22:02Speaker 4: But it will also be available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, iHeart,
- 22:07Speaker 4: pretty much all the other platforms that you're on.
- 22:09Speaker 1: Now, one last thing. The Green Bay Packers host a
- 22:12Speaker 1: home game tonight, I believe.
- 22:14Speaker 4: How are these Wisconsinites not exhausted?
- 22:17Speaker 1: Well, and of course, the Bucs had a home game.
- 22:19Speaker 1: No one was there for that because they were all
- 22:21Speaker 1: at Milwaukee. At AmFim Family Field for the watch party.
- 22:25Speaker 4: Or if not, they're in the, I believe it's called
- 22:27Speaker 4: the Deer Den or the Deer Garden. The public area
- 22:31Speaker 4: outside of the Fiserv Forum in downtown where a lot
- 22:35Speaker 4: of the Brewers fans have been gathering to watch the
- 22:37Speaker 4: games together.
- 22:39Speaker 1: And I remember I begged, I begged the counselor that
- 22:43Speaker 1: led all of us, Jude Kessel, in 2005, the Jason Project, please,
- 22:49Speaker 1: can I go see the stadium while we're in Milwaukee? Well, now, Ryan,
- 22:53Speaker 1: I think I have a reason to be inside the same.
- 22:55Speaker 1: I want to see that banner next year. I'm going
- 22:56Speaker 1: to go. I went to Chicago this year. I feel
- 22:58Speaker 1: like I've got to go to Milwaukee now.
- 23:00Speaker 4: I can't wait for the back-to-back picture that you're going
- 23:02Speaker 4: to put up on your Instagram, one of the Knicks
- 23:04Speaker 4: banner and then the other one of the Brewers.
- 23:06Speaker 2: I just know that's coming.
- 23:07Speaker 1: Am I right? The emotional parallel, though, between the Knicks
- 23:10Speaker 1: winning here and there are two different markets, but there's
- 23:13Speaker 1: the same energy. You know what I mean?
- 23:15Speaker 4: Same energy, but then also when you think about the
- 23:17Speaker 4: history of baseball in Milwaukee, their city's last title was
- 23:21Speaker 4: in 57th. when the Milwaukee Braves were in town. I mean,
- 23:26Speaker 4: long time coming for the city, no question about it.
- 23:28Speaker 4: Sort of in the same light that New York was
- 23:32Speaker 4: in with basketball, it was just a little bit longer
- 23:35Speaker 4: of a drought this time around for Milwaukee. I mean,
- 23:37Speaker 4: you talk about 53 years for the Knicks.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Well, how about 69 years for.
- 23:43Speaker 4: Milwaukee in between their last World Series and their most recent.
- 23:47Speaker 2: One as of last night?
- 23:49Speaker 1: Unbelievable. And, of course, the Brewers' first time ever. As
- 23:52Speaker 1: the Brewers. And you know what? I feel like meeting
- 23:55Speaker 1: Bernie and the Brewer was a good sign during the
- 23:58Speaker 1: All-Star break. And now he can slide down as a
- 24:03Speaker 1: world champion. So congrats to all. And to the 400,000
- 24:09Speaker 1: people that are going to be lining the streets in Milwaukee. Congratulations.
- 24:16Speaker 1: This is for you. and your lineage of Milwaukee fans
- 24:22Speaker 1: and family that love this team, that's for you. And
- 24:27Speaker 1: I have to say, if the five-year cycle continues, five
- 24:33Speaker 1: years ago was the Bucs, this year is the Brewers.
- 24:37Speaker 1: I don't know, could the Packers do it five years
- 24:39Speaker 1: from now? Who knows? But only time will tell. But
- 24:44Speaker 1: congrats to the city of Milwaukee, and as Laverne Shirley sang,
- 24:48Speaker 1: They did it their way. And that was actually their tag.
- 24:52Speaker 1: Our way. Because that's how they did it. 103 wins.
- 24:56Speaker 1: Not a fluke. And they did it for Uke. And
- 24:59Speaker 1: that's my message. At One Leg Up Alex Media.
