Transcript
- 0:00Well, are you ready for God's Word today?
- 0:04The series that I've been preaching this month, it just ties along with everything
- 0:11that has already been spoken today.
- 0:14The series is entitled, Unshakable.
- 0:18You know, Andrea could have been all shook up in the midst of the storm that she was going through.
- 0:24But guess what? When you have the cornerstone, Jesus Christ,
- 0:31in your life, and you put him number one, you become unshakable.
- 0:38And today, I just want to encourage somebody that has come today,
- 0:42what you put into this service today is what you're going to get out of it.
- 0:47And so today, I encourage you to lean in on this word because this word can transform your life.
- 0:55It's not about me. It's all about Jesus. And he's the only one that can perform
- 1:01the miracles and the signs and the wonders in your life today.
- 1:05I don't know what you came in for today, but the Lord's saying,
- 1:09get ready. You're going to leave with victory today.
- 1:13If you lean in on this word, the miracle working power of God can operate in your life today.
- 1:20If you need a healing in your body today, this is the place to be.
- 1:23Because there is a river in this house today and it's for you today.
- 1:29This place has been prayed up.
- 1:32And prepared for what God wants to do in your life today. This isn't going to
- 1:37be just an ordinary Father's Day message.
- 1:42Because we believe today that
- 1:43there's miracles, signs, and wonders that can happen in your own life.
- 1:48Whether it's a physical need, whether it's a spiritual need,
- 1:52God wants to perform that miracle in your life today. Because He's a God that is unshakable.
- 2:00Amen? Man, the theme of this series is standing strong when everything around you is shaking.
- 2:10Has anybody ever had something shake you up?
- 2:14When everything around you is shaking, God's still in control. God is still in control.
- 2:23And so today on this Father's Day, I just want to encourage you.
- 2:27You know, I have been blessed with a wonderful dad.
- 2:32My dad last year turned 90 years old,
- 2:36getting ready to turn 91 in September, and I've been so blessed,
- 2:42not just with a great dad, but I have had a great father-in-law,
- 2:48the best father-in-law I could have ever asked for.
- 2:52He went to be with the Lord a couple years ago, but he is what I'm going to
- 2:58be talking more about today because it's people like him that changes the world.
- 3:07Because the title of my message today is entitled, A Father's Greatest Legacy.
- 3:14You know, that's one thing that my father-in-law did is he was able to send
- 3:19forth a legacy, not only to Iris and I, but to my kids and to his great grandkids and,
- 3:28all of the people in his life.
- 3:32And God does many things with fathers and their legacy.
- 3:37I know my dad, even 91, getting ready to turn 91, we evangelize.
- 3:44And so we go out and we preach in a lot of different churches.
- 3:47And my dad keeps track of everywhere I go.
- 3:52And I mean he wants to know when we leave I'm I'm 56 years old and he still
- 3:58wants to know everything he wants to know when we leave he wants to know where
- 4:03we're at he keeps track of us,
- 4:05and every time I check in with my dad my dad always says this son you're making good time.
- 4:16Boy, I feel like that's a revelation for somebody today because I come to give
- 4:20somebody this word today.
- 4:22You're making good time. Even though things are all shook up right now,
- 4:27the Lord's saying today, you're making some good time today.
- 4:32Even though you've had some setbacks, even though you've had some upsets,
- 4:36the Lord's saying today, you may have had a tragedy, but the Lord's saying today,
- 4:41you're making good time.
- 4:44Brian, I just come to tell you today, you're making some good time, sir.
- 4:49There's a release in this place today, and the Lord's saying he is about to
- 4:54download a legacy in your life today.
- 4:57You may not have had a good dad.
- 5:00You may have not had a good past, but the Lord's saying, if you keep your eyes
- 5:05upon me, I'm your legacy.
- 5:07I'm the one that you need to keep your eyes upon. Don't stray away.
- 5:12Keep your focus on me, and watch what I will do for you.
- 5:17A father may leave many things behind. He may leave money.
- 5:23He may leave property. He may leave possessions.
- 5:28He may leave accomplishments.
- 5:31Yet the greatest thing a father can leave his family is a godly legacy.
- 5:40That's the greatest thing a dad can give is a godly legacy.
- 5:46As a dad, we need to be that dad that sets the bar for our family so that we
- 5:54can show them that God is in control of all things.
- 5:59It doesn't matter if things begin to shake.
- 6:04We've been at that point in our ministry and in our life where we could have been all shook up.
- 6:11We were pastoring in Paonia, Colorado, and there was a moment where we were down to nothing.
- 6:18But can I tell you, when you're down to nothing, God is up to something.
- 6:24And I won't go into details of the whole story, but I will share a part of that story.
- 6:30When Iris, she went down into our basement and opened up our freezer,
- 6:35and all there was was one more package of hamburger meat.
- 6:40We didn't have funds in our account, but God is faithful,
- 6:46and I'm telling you, I'm sharing this today because God is always faithful no
- 6:52matter what we have and what we're doing, and I'll never forget.
- 6:58She told me this. She said, I grabbed that last bit of hamburger meat,
- 7:04I closed the door, and then the Holy Spirit came all over me,
- 7:09opened it back up, and began to prophesy out of the freezer by saying, Thank you, Lord. Woo!
- 7:17Thank you, Lord, that you're about to fill our freezer back up.
- 7:22I didn't know that. This is on a Sunday morning. I didn't know that.
- 7:25I'm in my office Monday morning, and we had no money in our account,
- 7:30and I didn't know what we were going to do.
- 7:32And you can go on our podcast and look up Miracle Monday because you can get
- 7:39all of the testimonies because we had one testimony after another.
- 7:44But I'm just sharing you one because in that moment, on that Monday morning,
- 7:49I get a phone call from a lady that says, I have a lady at my work and she owns a ranch.
- 7:58And she had a bull break its leg.
- 8:02They had to put the bull down and they had to grind the meat up into hamburger meat.
- 8:10And she said, Pastor, do you have enough room in your freezer for 100 pounds of hamburger meat? Huh.
- 8:23To God be the glory. I'm like, yes, we do. Yes, we do.
- 8:29See, when you're down to nothing, God is up to something.
- 8:34And I come to tell the daddies today that you need to leave your children a legacy.
- 8:42You need to leave them testimonies just like that, where your faith didn't waver.
- 8:48But you begin to speak to your situation.
- 8:51You need to be that example where you're saying, God, God has not left me.
- 8:58He has not forsaken me. He's been here the whole time.
- 9:02And if God can be with me, just like God was with Daniel in the lion's den,
- 9:08God can be with you in every situation that you're going through.
- 9:12And the Lord's saying today, get ready, get ready, get ready.
- 9:17Because some big things are about to happen for you today.
- 9:22Long after earthly possessions are gone A spiritual legacy continues to impact
- 9:28generations from daddies My father-in-law, he was a godly man.
- 9:36Every time I was around him and when he prayed, his prayer was glory to God.
- 9:43Glory to God. He would always say glory to God. Even at his funeral, the minister preached.
- 9:50This man, all he would say was glory to God.
- 9:53I'm telling you something. When you hear that echo of glory to God in the background,
- 10:00I'm telling you, it shakes you.
- 10:03It shakes you spiritually because I'm telling you, that's a man that reached
- 10:08heaven and heaven reached him.
- 10:12That's the kind of legacies we need to leave. Legacies where people,
- 10:16where our kids remember, because they're going to forget about all the possessions you have.
- 10:23They're going to forget about all that. But what they're not going to forget
- 10:26is what happens spiritually.
- 10:29What happens spiritually. So I want to go to Joshua chapter number 24 and verse number 15.
- 10:37And I also want to jump over in the New Testament to 2 Timothy chapter number 1 and verse number 5.
- 10:43So I believe Isaac has those up for us today.
- 10:47So in Joshua chapter number 24 and verse number 15, the Bible says,
- 10:52But if you refuse to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve.
- 10:59Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates?
- 11:06Or will you be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live?
- 11:16Now, I want you to get a hold of this one.
- 11:19But as for me and my house, come on, Joshua's speaking.
- 11:23Joshua's prophesying. Joshua's prophesying to somebody today.
- 11:28And he's saying, but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
- 11:38I just want you to know this isn't just a Hobby Lobby phrase that you can put over your doorstep.
- 11:45This is a word from the Lord. This is a word,
- 11:50from Joshua saying, as for me and my house, we're going to serve the Lord.
- 12:00I'm sorry, I'm giving you a little oaky vernacular here. We're going to serve
- 12:03the Lord no matter what. We're going to serve the King of kings and the Lord of lords.
- 12:10And God wants us to put him number one.
- 12:15See, the Bible says in Proverbs 3, 5, and 6, if we just trust in the Lord with
- 12:19all our heart, what are we saying? As for me and my house, we're going to serve the Lord.
- 12:24As we trust in the Lord with all our heart, lean not on our own understanding,
- 12:28in all our ways acknowledge him.
- 12:30He's going to make your path straight.
- 12:34If somebody's path's crooked today the lord's saying if you just get your focus on me,
- 12:41i will recalculate just like i said last week i will recalculate your path and
- 12:48i will make it straight once again how many are ready for him to make it straight for you,
- 12:54hallelujah let's look at second timothy chapter number one and verse number
- 12:57five the bible says i remember your genuine faith For you share the faith that,
- 13:04first filled your grandmother Lois,
- 13:08and your mother Eunice.
- 13:10And I know that same faith continues strong in you.
- 13:17Daddies, I come to tell you, we need to leave a legacy. We need to leave a spiritual legacy.
- 13:25Because one thing your children will never forget is how you serve the Lord.
- 13:32Because when God does something in the midst, when he does a miracle in your
- 13:36life, that's something you can't erase.
- 13:40You can't erase anything. I mean, I don't care how young you are.
- 13:46I don't care how old you are. If God performs something and if God speaks to
- 13:51you in a fashion that changes your life.
- 13:56It was like me when I was seven years old. My parents didn't go to church.
- 14:00My parents, I never remember going to church up till seven years old when I
- 14:08was invited to church And I ended up going to a little Pentecostal holiness
- 14:12church in Kingfisher, Oklahoma.
- 14:15And as I'm in that church, I remember Grandpa Cerny's the one invited me.
- 14:20And I'm sitting right next to Grandpa Cerny.
- 14:23And I'll never forget this lady comes down to the front and she was deaf in
- 14:27one of her ears. And the Spirit of God came upon her.
- 14:31The pastor laid hands on her. She was slain in the Spirit.
- 14:35When she got slain in the Spirit, something happened. and Grandpa Cerny just
- 14:39tugged me in and said, it's going to be okay.
- 14:42Never experienced anything like that. But when that woman got up, she could hear again.
- 14:48And at seven years old, sitting there next to Grandpa Cerny,
- 14:53something came all over me.
- 14:57And I heard a voice. And that voice said, when you grow up,
- 15:04You're going to lay hands on sick people. Come on, are you with me today?
- 15:09You're going to lay hands on sick people, and they're going to recover.
- 15:15You know what that means? That means sickness is going to leave their body.
- 15:20And at seven years old, the Lord spoke that to me.
- 15:24Why am I telling you this story? I'm telling you because when anything happens
- 15:29to you from God, a miracle happens. you will never forget it.
- 15:35You will never get it out of your mind.
- 15:38You may say, well, I can't remember everything. But when you come to a point,
- 15:43in life, when something similar that the Lord has spoke to you years ago,
- 15:52it will rise back up.
- 15:55And there's something that's stirring today because somebody needs to hear this
- 15:59word today because there's something that is stirring on the inside of you that
- 16:05the Lord has spoke to you years and years ago.
- 16:09There's a stirring of his legacy.
- 16:13Is anybody hearing this today? I'm sorry. I'm not even in my points yet.
- 16:17There's a stirring of his legacy that wants to stir again in this place.
- 16:25Well, pastor, why hasn't things happened like you've been speaking.
- 16:30Because it's just a matter of time. Yeah, we're still in the alley church,
- 16:37but we're not going to stay here for long because miracle signs and wonders,
- 16:43are happening even right now as we speak.
- 16:47Yeah, we may have to drive through the potholes to get here.
- 16:53Come on, anybody notice any potholes today?
- 16:57Got new guests here today. They had to go through the potholes.
- 17:01But God is about to do a shift.
- 17:05Come on, are you with me today? There's a shift that is about to happen.
- 17:09That a legacy is already been planted.
- 17:13And God is about to bring expansion to epicenter church. What is epicenter church?
- 17:20It's the center point above an earthquake. And we believe that earthquake is revival.
- 17:26Where miracles, signs, and wonders happen. Hallelujah Let me give you point number one.
- 17:35Legacy is built by example. It is built by example.
- 17:44People follow what they see.
- 17:48They will say what you say. They will do what you do. They will follow as you see.
- 17:56Children learn from observation. I mean, they learn quick.
- 18:01Man, they learn quick. They'll watch every step you take, and they will do everything you do.
- 18:09You got to be cautious of what you do and what you say as a daddy, even as a mama too.
- 18:17Actions preach louder than words.
- 18:21We've got to watch what we do. We got to, if you want to see your kids be godly
- 18:28kids, then become a godly person. Read his word.
- 18:32Pray, go to church. There's two times to read his word.
- 18:38There's two times to pray. There's two times to go to church.
- 18:43And we all know that when you want to and when you don't.
- 18:48We've got to set the bar for our family.
- 18:53Faithfulness creates influence and godly examples shape our future generations,
- 19:01because what we're doing here, I mean, that's why we have.
- 19:06The ministries that we have at our church so that we can help our children because
- 19:12they're our future. Amen.
- 19:15They're our future. Children may not always listen to our advice,
- 19:21but they will always watch our example.
- 19:25Life you live becomes a legacy that you leave.
- 19:31Point number two today, faith must be passed down.
- 19:39We must pass down our faith, our faith that is in God.
- 19:45In Deuteronomy chapter number six and verse six and seven, the Bible says,
- 19:49and you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today.
- 19:57In verse number seven, repeat them again and again to your children.
- 20:04Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road,
- 20:09when you are going to bed and when you are getting up.
- 20:14We've got to speak life into our family.
- 20:18If we're going to set a legacy example, a faith example. We got to speak life into our family.
- 20:26We got to speak life into our family. See, faith shouldn't be taught intentionally.
- 20:32See, spiritual conversation matters.
- 20:36See, families need to pray again together.
- 20:41They need to pray again together. See, biblical values create stability,
- 20:47and every generation must know God personally.
- 20:53They need to have an experience with God, because a faith without having.
- 21:00Is a faith worth sharing? We've got to begin to share our faith.
- 21:07It's like what we're doing here with our tithes and offering,
- 21:10how Scott began to testify how God has paid his house off.
- 21:15Why? Because he's a tither.
- 21:18He's faithful with God. Miss Andrea,
- 21:23she had setbacks, but God was with her the whole time see it's through the blood
- 21:28of the lamb and the word of our testimony how did she make it through even though it was,
- 21:34her life was shook up she was still faithful with her giving,
- 21:39i'm not taking up another offering so don't worry but i i just want you to know,
- 21:45that when you're faithful with
- 21:47the little he'll make you ruler over many and all we have to have is the,
- 21:53is faith in God.
- 21:56When we have faith in God, God will perform miracles after miracles.
- 22:02See, the greatest inheritance is not wealth.
- 22:06The legacy is not wealth. It's faith. It's the faith that we leave.
- 22:13Our family. Point number three, a godly legacy outlives a lifetime.
- 22:21A godly legacy outlives a lifetime.
- 22:25In 2 Timothy chapter number one and verse number five, I remember your genuine
- 22:32faith for you share the faith that first filled,
- 22:37your grandmother, Lois, and your mother, Eunice.
- 22:42And I know that same faith continues strong in you.
- 22:48See, Timothy received faith from previous generations.
- 22:54Not everybody has had people before you that walked in faith.
- 23:02I'm the first minister of the gospel in both my mom's side of the family and
- 23:08my dad's side of the family.
- 23:11But what I'm grateful for is my mom, I got saved, filled with the Holy Ghost,
- 23:19become a prayer warrior before she died. And my daddy, he is a faith walker, taught me how to tithe.
- 23:29Amen. And prays every single day, reads this Bible to God be the glory.
- 23:37See, God can change things.
- 23:40God can change your life. He can make you that one. He can make you that Lois or Eunice.
- 23:49He can make you that, where you pass it down from generation to generation.
- 23:55Let it start today.
- 23:58Come on, church, let it start today. See, godly influence extends beyond death.
- 24:05See, legacy impacts grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
- 24:12One faithful life can change an entire family line. It can change it all.
- 24:19I have Iris' dad, William Williams' testimony on our podcast.
- 24:25And if it wasn't because of an evangelist that went through Paradox,
- 24:29Colorado, it changed the legacy of their whole family.
- 24:34To God be the glory. He got saved in Paradox, Colorado.
- 24:39If you look that up, it's just a little dot on the map.
- 24:43But it changed their generations. I don't know how many ministers they have
- 24:48in their family, but guess what? I got to cash in on that.
- 24:53I got to cash in on that legacy because I got to be under that legacy. To God be the glory.
- 24:58One faithful life can change an entire family line. Eternal investments never lose value.
- 25:07They just increase.
- 25:10Instead of seeing how much wealth or how much land or how many possessions you
- 25:18can collect to pass down, this is what I want you to do today.
- 25:23See how much faith in God you can pass down to the next generation.
- 25:30Because a godly legacy is the only investment that keeps growing after you're gone.
- 25:39So when you're gone, that legacy will be passed down from generation to generation.
- 25:47What you pass to the next generation may outlive every achievement in your whole lifetime.
- 25:55If somebody's life can be totally changed, how many know one situation,
- 26:02One word from God can change everything.
- 26:06I feel you're not here by accident, but by divine appointment to hear this word today.
- 26:12God wants to fill you today with his faith, with his wisdom,
- 26:18with his knowledge, with his understanding.
- 26:22I feel there's a shift in the atmosphere for someone today because God wants
- 26:28us to carry on a powerful legacy. for his kingdom.
- 26:33Because just as our word is here today, Epicenter is a place where we love God,
- 26:41we love people, and it's all about Jesus.
- 26:45It's all about Jesus. It's about him. And when he comes in and changes your life, hallelujah.
- 26:57I'm so grateful for September 17th, 1988 at 11 o'clock at night in a McDonald's
- 27:06drive-thru in El Reno, Oklahoma.
- 27:11Yes, I had an experience with God speaking to me at seven years old,
- 27:16but the greatest experience I had is whenever I showed up to get my quarter pounder with no cheese,
- 27:24large Coke and my large fries at an El Reno McDonald's, and I'm sitting there
- 27:33in my cool Mustang with limo tent on the windows,
- 27:40and had my Norman Lab kicker in the back with the good music,
- 27:49but that night when I turned that music up a little bit, after I made that order,
- 27:54the song on the radio was...
- 27:58The Radio...
- 28:02Don't worry, be happy now. And at 18 years old, I'm like, God,
- 28:07I just graduated high school.
- 28:10I don't know where I'm going. And all you you're speaking to me saying,
- 28:14don't worry, be happy now.
- 28:16And all of a sudden, somebody knocked on my passenger window.
- 28:20I kind of freaked out and locked the doors.
- 28:24And all of a sudden, this blonde headed girl come be bopping around.
- 28:28Her name was Candy Reeves. And she come to my window and she looked at me and
- 28:34she said, I just got out of revival.
- 28:38And when I was in revival, the preacher preached, Jesus is coming again.
- 28:45And she looked at me in my eyes and she said, if he was to come today,
- 28:51would you spend eternity with him?
- 28:54As the song's going, don't worry, be happy now. And I burst into tears right
- 29:00then and there. I said, no, I don't.
- 29:03I won't make it. And she said, well, if you pull up, I will lead you in a prayer
- 29:09that will give you everlasting life.
- 29:11I pulled up. She led me in that sinner's prayer.
- 29:17I'm telling you, when the Lord came in, his Shekinah glory came in and washed
- 29:23every sin that was in my life out.
- 29:27He cleansed my mind from every evil thing that I ever thought of or ever did.
- 29:34I'm telling you, he came in and washed me with the blood.
- 29:38Come on, we need the blood back into the church again, church.
- 29:42If we want to see Holy Ghost revival again, we need the blood of Jesus back in the church.
- 29:48And the blood of Jesus washed everything away.
- 29:52That young lady said, now you need to do four things. Four.
- 29:57Need to pray every single day. You need to read your Bible every, every time, every day.
- 30:05And then she said, you need to go to church every time the church doors are open.
- 30:12And then she said, the fourth thing you need to do is you need to go tell somebody
- 30:16what you just experienced.
- 30:18Man, I'll never forget. It was raining that night. I'm on my way home to Kingfisher
- 30:23and I'm crying all the way home. I didn't know what to do.
- 30:26And the only song I could think of singing was Amazing Grace.
- 30:30And my mind's going because my parents weren't home. I couldn't go tell them what happened to me.
- 30:36But I knew of a buddy.
- 30:39I knew he was partying that night because I'd already been asked to come.
- 30:44And I was like, I'm showing up at his house and I'm going to tell him.
- 30:49And I knocked on his door.
- 30:52And when I knocked on his door, he answered, I'm bawling like a baby.
- 30:57He said, what happened? I said, I just accepted Christ into my life.
- 31:01And he looked at me and he burst into tears. And he said, I want that same Jesus.
- 31:07I don't know what it is about you, but you have changed.
- 31:11There's a glory cloud that's over you. I want what you got. And I said, come on into my Mustang.
- 31:19I led him in the sinner's prayer right then and there. Became a soul winner right then and there.
- 31:26To God be the glory.
- 31:29I don't know why I'm sharing that message to you today, but it's a message that
- 31:34will be sent from generation to generation.
- 31:39To God be the glory. And today, you can make a start.
- 31:45You can have a change. Somebody that's listening online or on the podcast,
- 31:50God can change your life today, and you can start a new legacy.
- 31:55Would you stand with me this morning?
- 32:03I feel the power of the Holy Ghost in this place today.
- 32:09The Lord's not here to condemn you, but here to love you.
- 32:14All he wants you to have is his presence in your life.
- 32:19I don't know who this is for. Maybe it's for somebody online or maybe it's for somebody here today.
- 32:24But his heads are bowed and eyes are closed. And I just want to ask this question today.
- 32:29If you're ready to make a change in your life, if you're ready today to accept
- 32:36the Lord into your life so that you can give a new legacy to your family,
- 32:43If that's you today and you need the Lord in your heart,
- 32:48would you just signify that just by raising your hand today?
- 32:55Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. There are hands going up.
- 33:03Would you pray this today? Maybe your hand wasn't raised, but you need the Lord in your heart today.
- 33:10Maybe you're watching online, listening to this. in a recording.
- 33:15Today is the day for salvation.
- 33:18Romans 1 16, the Bible says, I am not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ
- 33:24because it's the power of God unto salvation.
- 33:29And so today, I just want the whole congregation to repeat this with me today.
- 33:33You may not even have raised your hand, but you need to accept the Lord today.
- 33:39What a wonderful gift to the Father today, to accept the Lord into your heart.
- 33:47Repeat after me would you just say lord jesus forgive me of all my sins wash
- 33:54me with your blood jesus come into my heart,
- 34:01be lord of my life and be my savior in jesus name amen amen,
