Transcript
- 0:00Welcome to Future Forward. Today, we're looking
- 0:03at a really significant development in the global
- 0:07clean energy landscape. And it's coming right
- 0:11out of Dubai. That's right, Karei. DIWA, that's
- 0:15Dubai's Electricity and Water Authority, recently
- 0:18hosted a high -level German delegation. Okay.
- 0:21And the meeting, it really underscored just how
- 0:25rapidly Dubai is accelerating its green transition.
- 0:29The meeting was led by Diwa's MD and CEO, His
- 0:33Excellency Saeed Mohamed Altayer. He amplifies
- 0:37the importance of, you know, international collaboration.
- 0:40Right. And I believe he commented on it directly.
- 0:43He did. He commended the strong collaboration
- 0:47with Germany. He noted that it reinforces the
- 0:52UAE's position as a global hub for clean energy
- 0:55technologies. He also reiterated Diwa's commitment
- 0:59to its pioneering role. Right. In adopting advanced
- 1:03and future -ready solutions. And these aren't
- 1:07just abstract goals. Diwa is rolling out some
- 1:11truly landmark projects. Yeah. I mean, from the
- 1:15Al -Shera building, which is set to be the world's
- 1:18tallest net positive government building, to
- 1:21a first -of -its -kind hydroelectric power station
- 1:23in Hatta. But the centerpiece of the strategy
- 1:27remains the Mohammed bin Rasht al -Maktoum solar
- 1:31park. The scale here is just, it's hard to overstate.
- 1:35Right. And its targets have just been massively
- 1:38upgraded. Upgraded how? What are the new numbers
- 1:41looking like? So the park's capacity is now set
- 1:44to surpass 8 ,000 megawatts by 2030. Wow! Yeah,
- 1:50and that will push clean energy share in Dubai's
- 1:53total mix to over 36%. Okay. That far exceeds
- 1:58the original 25 % target. It's a huge leap forward
- 2:02in a very short time. This clearly positions
- 2:05Diwa not just as a regional player, but... But
- 2:09a global one. Exactly. And Altair directly addressed
- 2:13this. He highlighted Diwa's commitment to continuous
- 2:17benchmarking against world best practice. He
- 2:20pointed out that Diwa ranks first worldwide across
- 2:2412 key performance indicators, KPIs. Twelve?
- 2:28Yeah, including the world's lowest electricity
- 2:31interruption rates and line losses. That's incredible.
- 2:35While also setting global benchmarks in customer
- 2:38satisfaction and demonstrating this unmatched
- 2:42institutional ability to anticipate and adapt
- 2:45to future challenges. Truly setting a global
- 2:48benchmark. I mean, this goes beyond just generating
- 2:51power. It's about creating a whole new standard
- 2:55for a sustainable future. Now, here's a question
- 2:58we'd like you to think about. As cities around
- 3:01the world race towards their own clean energy
- 3:03goals, what can they learn from Dubai's model
- 3:10of combining these massive infrastructure projects
- 3:14with a focus on world record operational efficiency?
