- 0:05Speaker 1: Hey Jonas Hi guys So in the car right here
- 0:13Speaker 1: I had a situation that happened so annoying But I
- 0:15Speaker 1: think it's highly relatable So we're going to talk about
- 0:17Speaker 1: it on the pod.
- 0:19Speaker 2: I was drinking my water bottle And I have my
- 0:22Speaker 2: phone with me like this And the water landed on
- 0:25Speaker 2: the screen Wiped it off But it must have gone
- 0:29Speaker 2: into the charging space So now, we'll put in some
- 0:34Speaker 2: rice while we do the pot here today.
- 0:35Speaker 3: Are you dropping your phone in the rice?
- 0:37Speaker 2: Dropping it in.
- 0:38Speaker 3: Wait, so... Technically... It does... They're supposed to be waterproof,
- 0:41Speaker 3: so it doesn't... Yeah, I dropped my phone... I literally
- 0:44Speaker 3: dropped my phone in the bathtub yesterday. And my phone's fine.
- 0:47Speaker 4: And did you put it in rice?
- 0:48Speaker 2: Did it work?
- 0:49Speaker 4: I also dropped my phone in the ocean in July.
- 0:51Speaker 4: And it worked still. My phone's fine. You have to
- 0:54Speaker 4: give it one of these. You have a phone from, like, 1904.
- 0:58Speaker 2: I have to spin it when I do it, and... Yeah, well,
- 1:02Speaker 2: it's going to be here for the rest of the pod.
- 1:03Speaker 2: This is a lovely bag of Indian basmati rice.
- 1:07Speaker 3: I'm excited to see if it'll come back to life, though.
- 1:09Speaker 3: You're going to de-moisturize it.
- 1:10Speaker 2: They should sell rice specifically for that purpose.
- 1:13Speaker 4: It's actually not a terrible idea. Apple does sell rice.
- 1:17Speaker 4: Apple sells rice?
- 1:18Speaker 2: No. Oh. That was a good one, Joe.
- 1:22Speaker 5: Thanks.
- 1:22Speaker 3: Well, last time I saw you guys, we were in
- 1:24Speaker 3: Las Vegas seeing the Backstreet Boys. That was exceptional.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh.
- 1:27Speaker 3: Backstreet, backstreet.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Dude. All right. So I had been adamant for months
- 1:31Speaker 2: that you guys have to see the show, because I
- 1:33Speaker 2: saw it back in the spring. They announced more dates.
- 1:36Speaker 2: We went out, checked it out, saw the boys beforehand,
- 1:39Speaker 2: the Backstreet Men, as it were.
- 1:41Speaker 3: The whole vibe, the white, the whole thing. It's just,
- 1:44Speaker 3: it's perfect. We thought we were walking into our seats.
- 1:46Speaker 3: The elevator opens, and they're just there.
- 1:48Speaker 2: Right there. In all their handsome, handsome men. You guys
- 1:51Speaker 2: didn't believe me about the all-white thing, too.
- 1:53Speaker 3: I did.
- 1:53Speaker 2: I didn't.
- 1:57Speaker 4: I didn't really know that was a thing. You had
- 1:58Speaker 4: to buy clothes, Kev. You sent your assistant out to
- 1:59Speaker 4: get you clothes.
- 2:00Speaker 3: That's not exactly true, but I'll go with it. But
- 2:03Speaker 3: I definitely... You.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Were about to say that I asked your assistant to
- 2:07Speaker 2: get me white clothes.
- 2:07Speaker 3: Yes, you did.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Because guess what? I packed white, and then I was like,
- 2:11Speaker 2: this isn't the right kind of shade. Yeah, did you
- 2:14Speaker 2: end up wearing black pants? Yeah, because I don't have
- 2:17Speaker 2: white pants.
- 2:18Speaker 3: Well, I didn't either. I actually wore these exact pants
- 2:20Speaker 3: that I'm wearing and shoes right now.
- 2:22Speaker 2: You guys look color-coordinated today.
- 2:24Speaker 3: We're a little white and red, Joe.
- 2:27Speaker 2: You know, I didn't notice that.
- 2:29Speaker 3: That's nice. We look good.
- 2:32Speaker 2: I look great.
- 2:32Speaker 3: And Nick's wearing black instead of white again. Yeah. Yeah.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Well.
- 2:37Speaker 3: What'd you do last night, Nick?
- 2:38Speaker 2: What'd I do last night?
- 2:40Speaker 3: I know you recorded most of the day yesterday.
- 2:42Speaker 2: I've been recording new music all week. I watched a
- 2:44Speaker 2: movie with a friend, a great movie that I would suggest.
- 2:47Speaker 2: So I went into the old AI machine and I said, hey,
- 2:51Speaker 2: what's a highly underrated movie if you like Waiting for
- 2:54Speaker 2: Guffman slash The Big Sick?
- 2:56Speaker 4: I'm going to guess, friend, you were with Kavanaugh.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Correct. And it told me, it said, this is a
- 3:02Speaker 2: criminally underrated movie called Don't Think Twice from 2016. I'm
- 3:06Speaker 2: going to watch it tonight. Written by Mike Birbiglia.
- 3:09Speaker 4: It is hilarious.
- 3:11Speaker 2: It's about an improv troupe and basically all of them
- 3:15Speaker 2: coming to terms with the fact that their lives are
- 3:17Speaker 2: taking them in different directions. I'll say no more.
- 3:19Speaker 4: But it has a 98% Rotten Tomatoes score, which is
- 3:21Speaker 4: pretty exceptional.
- 3:23Speaker 3: And it held up?
- 3:24Speaker 2: It was great? Oh, it was phenomenal. I think it
- 3:27Speaker 2: is criminally underrated.
- 3:29Speaker 3: Well, we will watch it tonight.
- 3:32Speaker 2: It actually is a perfect segue to our guest today.
- 3:36Speaker 2: This movie is all about bits. Are you going to
- 3:38Speaker 2: say criminally underrated? That's the segue? No, that's not what
- 3:43Speaker 2: I'm saying.
- 3:43Speaker 3: He is highly rated.
- 3:44Speaker 2: He's rated.
- 3:46Speaker 3: Very rated.
- 3:46Speaker 2: High rated. I was so excited when they told us
- 3:51Speaker 2: that he was in town and down to come do
- 3:52Speaker 2: the podcast. Because for I feel like years now, we've
- 3:55Speaker 2: all seen him on our feeds and loved his bits
- 3:59Speaker 2: and and stand up his podcast. And also now, which
- 4:04Speaker 2: was just announced, he's going to be on the next
- 4:06Speaker 2: season of Dancing with the Stars. He's going to crush
- 4:08Speaker 2: Dancing with the Stars. So I think we should just
- 4:11Speaker 2: get him out here and get things going. Please welcome
- 4:14Speaker 2: Connor Wood.
- 4:15Speaker 3: Connor Wood.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Hi, boys.
- 4:17Speaker 3: It's so good to see you, man. Thanks for doing this.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Likewise. Thanks for having me.
- 4:20Speaker 3: Thank you for wearing red to make Nick feel more
- 4:23Speaker 3: out of place.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know what happened here today, but I
- 4:26Speaker 2: like the black. It's rare that I wear all black, too.
- 4:29Speaker 2: So this is, I feel very left out of the
- 4:31Speaker 2: red and white combo.
- 4:32Speaker 3: Hey, congrats.
- 4:33Speaker 4: Congrats, man.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Dancing with the stars. Is this season 35 or 36?
- 4:40Speaker 3: 35.
- 4:40Speaker 2: 35. That's huge. I'm stoked.
- 4:43Speaker 4: When did you get the call that it was happening?
- 4:45Speaker 4: And what was your first reaction?
- 4:47Speaker 2: I got the.
- 4:47Speaker 5: Call the day I signed a lease in New York,
- 4:50Speaker 5: which is pure magic because that's what happens, right? Right.
- 4:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:54Speaker 5: So I have this awesome apartment in New York that
- 4:56Speaker 5: I searched, you know, New York real estate while renting
- 4:59Speaker 5: apartment real estate. There's no apartments left. So I got
- 5:02Speaker 5: this awesome. I was like, this is a dream come true.
- 5:04Speaker 5: And then another dream came true as I signed and
- 5:08Speaker 5: moved in. This is like a completely concrete locked in
- 5:11Speaker 5: lease that I have, which is nice. I'm going to
- 5:14Speaker 5: get my security deposit back because I won't have ever
- 5:16Speaker 5: been inside.
- 5:17Speaker 3: That's perfect. That's a good problem to have.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Speaking of security deposits, do you have dogs or cats?
- 5:24Speaker 2: I have a dog. He's with my parents right now, Max.
- 5:26Speaker 3: And where's your parents at?
- 5:28Speaker 2: They're in Houston.
- 5:29Speaker 3: Is that where you're from?
- 5:31Speaker 2: Yeah, Texas.
- 5:32Speaker 3: We were just talking about Houston today.
- 5:34Speaker 2: We have Texas roots as well. We were in Dallas
- 5:36Speaker 2: for a while.
- 5:37Speaker 3: Actually, which is so funny, we just announced that we're
- 5:40Speaker 3: coming to Houston on our tour. It was one of
- 5:42Speaker 3: the last stops we didn't announce.
- 5:43Speaker 4: That's why we're very topical. Where should we go in Houston?
- 5:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:47Speaker 4: Oh my God.
- 5:48Speaker 2: The rodeo. I don't know.
- 5:50Speaker 5: I'm from like a very small town outside of Houston.
- 5:53Speaker 5: So I, and I was born in Austin, so I
- 5:54Speaker 5: could probably guide you on like an Austin more than.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Okay. We love Austin too.
- 5:58Speaker 3: We like Austin.
- 5:59Speaker 4: We're going to be there too. Where should we go
- 6:00Speaker 4: in Austin then?
- 6:01Speaker 2: I'll send you guys a list. I have a running list.
- 6:03Speaker 2: We don't want to put you on the spot.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:05Speaker 2: Okay. So you signed the lease, you're locked into New York.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Then all of a sudden, uh, you get this call
- 6:10Speaker 2: and they say, Hey, we want you on season 30,
- 6:12Speaker 2: 35 of dance with the stars. With Riley Arnold, yeah?
- 6:16Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 6:17Speaker 2: So we have a connection that... I've never met her,
- 6:20Speaker 2: I don't think, but she's a Type 1 diabetic as well.
- 6:23Speaker 3: She is.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Yeah, which is great. She's using her platform to show
- 6:27Speaker 2: that you can do anything you want in life while
- 6:29Speaker 2: living with Type 1. I'm very happy to see that.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Shout out, Riley Arnold. She's the best, too. It's super fun,
- 6:35Speaker 2: and we.
- 6:36Speaker 5: She's got me back on candy, because we work pretty hard, and...
- 6:40Speaker 5: We do pause to take like candy breaks, which is
- 6:42Speaker 5: nice because I get to bring candy. I'm kind of
- 6:44Speaker 5: off candy because I have bad teeth. I get cavities still.
- 6:46Speaker 5: I'm an adult.
- 6:48Speaker 2: We have a whole running.
- 6:49Speaker 3: Thing about how we get cavities and our dentists all
- 6:53Speaker 3: don't like each other on this pod, but that's fine.
- 6:55Speaker 3: I went to the dentist today, Kevin, and I actually
- 6:58Speaker 3: told my dentist that we talked shit about your dentist.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Okay. You guys are dunking on each other's dentists? Yeah.
- 7:08Speaker 3: Joe had a dentist say that he needed some preventative drilling,
- 7:12Speaker 3: and we thought that that might have been.
- 7:14Speaker 2: A little overreach. That's a scam, right?
- 7:15Speaker 3: That's a scam.
- 7:16Speaker 5: Walk me through preventative drilling, because it sounds like this
- 7:18Speaker 5: guy might be doing a little off-the-books drilling.
- 7:21Speaker 3: That's what I said. Well, you know, it was preventative
- 7:27Speaker 3: because there were cavities incoming, I guess.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Incoming cavities.
- 7:31Speaker 3: See, that's where I go like, I don't know. Kevin's
- 7:33Speaker 3: feet are always fine. Before I got into the accident.
- 7:37Speaker 3: Feels a little like that.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Does anyone have veneers here? No.
- 7:41Speaker 3: No one has veneers?
- 7:44Speaker 2: None of you guys have veneers?
- 7:46Speaker 5: We thought about it. We just never did it. So
- 7:50Speaker 5: rare that you guys are three for three marked safe
- 7:52Speaker 5: from veneers. Is it?
- 7:54Speaker 2: Even marked safe by Big Tooth.
- 7:56Speaker 3: And none of us had braces for years. Really? None
- 8:00Speaker 3: of us had braces either, so they're definitely coming for us.
- 8:03Speaker 5: Wow, it's like the Illuminati. They talk about the Illuminati.
- 8:05Speaker 5: The real thing is like Big Veneer coming, knocking on
- 8:07Speaker 5: your door.
- 8:07Speaker 3: Interesting.
- 8:08Speaker 2: What else have you learned about Hollywood? Oh, God, since yesterday?
- 8:12Speaker 3: Tell us everything.
- 8:13Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Big Veneers are coming after us. Your dog is with
- 8:17Speaker 2: your parents. My one thing, this happened to me today.
- 8:20Speaker 2: When's the last time you guys went to CVS?
- 8:22Speaker 3: Yesterday. Pretty recently.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Yesterday?
- 8:24Speaker 3: Where? In my town in New Jersey.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Okay.
- 8:27Speaker 5: Do you have the buttons that you have to press
- 8:28Speaker 5: so that some porcelain has to come over and unlock so.
- 8:31Speaker 2: You can buy.
- 8:33Speaker 4: That's for Luberkint. Yeah, but here's the thing. Luberkint or
- 8:38Speaker 4: like NyQuil.
- 8:39Speaker 5: They have to stop the Natasha Bedingfield playlist and everyone's
- 8:43Speaker 5: going to, excuse me, this guy on aisle four needs
- 8:46Speaker 5: lube bad. Stop the music and go help him.
- 8:50Speaker 4: Can I get that for you, sir?
- 8:51Speaker 2: But it's weird because there's no crime in Los Angeles, right?
- 8:56Speaker 2: So why would they have to? Historically, no. Historically.
- 8:58Speaker 3: No, that's what I mean.
- 8:59Speaker 2: And the roads are great. I've been loving the rose.
- 9:02Speaker 3: I've heard there's a lot of new fountains pretty much everywhere.
- 9:06Speaker 6: Stop.
- 9:06Speaker 2: Really?
- 9:07Speaker 4: They're just brown.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:09Speaker 5: No one's doing it like this for some reason. But
- 9:13Speaker 5: I had to go this morning and because the camera
- 9:16Speaker 5: is so close to you, they've got really nice cameras
- 9:19Speaker 5: on Dancing.
- 9:19Speaker 2: With the Stars.
- 9:21Speaker 5: They're so big and they're so far away that you
- 9:23Speaker 5: don't realize that they're really tight on your face. I
- 9:26Speaker 5: have never seen... I was not aware I had, I
- 9:31Speaker 5: had nose hairs that like were visible. Like, I don't
- 9:32Speaker 5: know if I'm just kind of locked in my nose hairs.
- 9:34Speaker 5: And I never even considered that I'm someone that could
- 9:38Speaker 5: have nose hairs.
- 9:40Speaker 2: So I went to CVS to get a nose hair trimmer. Yeah.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Nice.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Do you go with a wall, a wall clipper? It's
- 9:46Speaker 2: a good question. And I didn't use it by the way.
- 9:48Speaker 2: Like you're pretty good.
- 9:49Speaker 5: The ones that have a little attachment at the end
- 9:51Speaker 5: of that thing. Okay. It wasn't pre-charged, which I don't
- 9:54Speaker 5: know why.
- 9:55Speaker 3: I started getting those like extra long, just random white ones.
- 9:58Speaker 3: at this point where just like they just appear like
- 10:01Speaker 3: they're just out of the nose like and it's like
- 10:03Speaker 3: overnight it's like how did they become this long in
- 10:05Speaker 3: one shot Kevin's old so yeah he's the.
- 10:08Speaker 5: Oldest now I mean I had my first gray hair
- 10:12Speaker 5: the other day how'd that feel like how'd it go
- 10:14Speaker 5: well I kind of like I woke up and I
- 10:17Speaker 5: looked at it and I was like no you know
- 10:20Speaker 5: and then I kind of like get my hair wet
- 10:21Speaker 5: and I was like it's probably just like something I
- 10:23Speaker 5: ate yesterday you know like maybe it's mayonnaise or something
- 10:27Speaker 5: and I wash my hair and I like get it
- 10:28Speaker 5: all wet and I move it and I can see
- 10:30Speaker 5: it and then I ruffle it again and I'm like
- 10:31Speaker 5: maybe I can tuck it back maybe I can tuck.
- 10:33Speaker 3: It Nick had the same moment on the tour bus
- 10:35Speaker 3: the other day he's like guys I found a gray
- 10:37Speaker 3: and I'm like he.
- 10:38Speaker 4: Found one and we couldn't we couldn't see it.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Here's the thing I found it and I was actually
- 10:42Speaker 2: excited and kind of proud because I felt like oh.
- 10:44Speaker 3: I've earned it he was like filming it he was
- 10:46Speaker 3: filming it he's like guys come here and we were
- 10:48Speaker 3: like We don't see it, man. He was really upset
- 10:51Speaker 3: with us because he was trying to... These two basically
- 10:53Speaker 3: shamed me. They're like, you're making this up for content.
- 10:56Speaker 3: You're a liar.
- 10:57Speaker 2: You're a liar.
- 10:58Speaker 4: People deal with this all the time, Nick. Don't make
- 11:01Speaker 4: jokes about this.
- 11:02Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 11:02Speaker 2: If I would have been there, I kind of played
- 11:05Speaker 2: it off like, oh, nose hair. I was kind of stoked.
- 11:07Speaker 2: I was like, I'm becoming my dad.
- 11:09Speaker 3: I think you should let it ride or until you
- 11:10Speaker 3: get a sponsor. Yeah, until you get a nose hair sponsor.
- 11:14Speaker 3: I think I might grow them out.
- 11:16Speaker 2: I think the voting audience of Dance With The Stars
- 11:18Speaker 2: will be thrilled that you have nose hairs.
- 11:21Speaker 5: Oh, yeah.
- 11:21Speaker 3: It's more relatable to more people than it's not. It's
- 11:25Speaker 3: more relatable, but also you could get a little sponsor
- 11:29Speaker 3: to get those things taken care of.
- 11:31Speaker 2: Are you running the soundboard? Yes, sir. Fabulous timing.
- 11:34Speaker 3: Whatever you want to hear.
- 11:35Speaker 4: I got a lot of the buttons over here.
- 11:37Speaker 2: That's really good. You know what I'm saying?
- 11:40Speaker 4: Wow. I can't stop this one.
- 11:43Speaker 3: Actually, that sound is perfect. How have you been feeling
- 11:47Speaker 3: about your prep for Dancing with the Stars so far?
- 11:49Speaker 2: Let's leave this track on. Yeah, exactly. Walk me through it, please.
- 11:53Speaker 2: I'm feeling good. I am feeling sore.
- 11:57Speaker 3: Everybody gets in the best shape of their life doing this.
- 12:00Speaker 2: People keep saying that. Are you getting ripped? I've put
- 12:02Speaker 2: on weight. Muscle weighs more than fat. No, it's fat.
- 12:05Speaker 2: My pants don't fit.
- 12:07Speaker 5: Um i'm eating so much candy i told you like
- 12:10Speaker 5: i'm eating sour patch kids i'm eating gummy bears and
- 12:13Speaker 5: i'm trying to keep it fresh because i want to
- 12:14Speaker 5: bring at first like when riley and i were meeting
- 12:16Speaker 5: and she she's keeping track because her she has her
- 12:19Speaker 5: um sensor on it and it goes off and so
- 12:22Speaker 5: we'll stop and we'll have candy breaks and i'm like
- 12:24Speaker 5: you know as an ally i'm eating as much candy
- 12:26Speaker 5: as she is i don't need it you know and
- 12:28Speaker 5: i like that but it is you're working out so
- 12:30Speaker 5: hard and i'm feeling so good you know and you
- 12:33Speaker 5: guys get like hitting the beats and like making sure
- 12:36Speaker 5: you have routines down and then i i go to
- 12:38Speaker 5: sleep and i'm like i did that shit yeah and
- 12:41Speaker 5: then the next day i wake up and i go
- 12:43Speaker 5: in and she's like so i changed the dance oh
- 12:47Speaker 5: no every day so and that's.
- 12:50Speaker 3: Tough you're going home like ready when is it locked
- 12:53Speaker 3: though is it so you do the dress or something
- 12:55Speaker 3: and then at that point it's like okay the We're
- 12:57Speaker 3: not going to change it anymore.
- 12:59Speaker 2: Or is it just up until the last minute? I
- 13:00Speaker 2: don't know. Oh, my God. Nothing's been... Once the spray.
- 13:03Speaker 3: Tan happens, you're locked.
- 13:05Speaker 2: I imagine that when you come onto the show, they
- 13:07Speaker 2: give you, like, this big book. And I know this
- 13:08Speaker 2: is just not true, but, like, they come with this
- 13:11Speaker 2: binder of all the things they've learned over 35 seasons,
- 13:13Speaker 2: and you just get to learn these types of things. Like,
- 13:16Speaker 2: at this stage, choreo's locked. The book... Doesn't exist.
- 13:22Speaker 3: Is big.
- 13:23Speaker 2: The book is huge. It's huge.
- 13:25Speaker 5: And it's just, like, get ready bitch like every page
- 13:28Speaker 5: is just like a warning um but nothing's very clear
- 13:31Speaker 5: no it's it's confusing they i keep i keep getting
- 13:35Speaker 5: like some foreshadowing and it's like enjoy this now and
- 13:38Speaker 5: sleep while you can i'm like how will it get
- 13:39Speaker 5: harder because i'm really struggling and how many flips can
- 13:42Speaker 5: i do i know well i can't do it i
- 13:44Speaker 5: can't lift her you know she's stronger than she's had
- 13:47Speaker 5: her biceps she has my ideal after body like in
- 13:49Speaker 5: a before and after um she's ripped and then So
- 13:54Speaker 5: we have a couple of weeks on this one. This
- 13:55Speaker 5: is the most lead up we'll have for a dance.
- 13:58Speaker 5: And the following weeks, it's.
- 13:59Speaker 2: Week by week.
- 14:00Speaker 3: It's every Tuesday. That's probably the thing, right? Like then
- 14:03Speaker 3: you're like, here's this brand new thing. And every day
- 14:05Speaker 3: it's going to change. But then you also have to
- 14:07Speaker 3: kind of sell yourself a little bit too, right?
- 14:09Speaker 2: It's bananas. And this is like all news to me.
- 14:11Speaker 2: I've only danced at weddings. I was going to ask,
- 14:13Speaker 2: are you a wedding dancer? Are you a by yourself dancer?
- 14:16Speaker 2: What would you have categorized yourself prior to? now becoming
- 14:19Speaker 2: a dancing with the stars.
- 14:22Speaker 5: I wouldn't put myself in a category just because I
- 14:24Speaker 5: don't want to offend any community.
- 14:27Speaker 2: Any community of dancers. It's good. I will be first.
- 14:30Speaker 3: Don't be like Chalamet, right?
- 14:33Speaker 2: You're right. Loving ballet.
- 14:37Speaker 4: We love you, Chalamet. We're just saying, you know.
- 14:39Speaker 5: I'm not scared to dance in front of the audience
- 14:41Speaker 5: until everyone's like, you should be. Now I'm kind of nervous, but.
- 14:43Speaker 3: I feel so good.
- 14:44Speaker 2: You should be.
- 14:44Speaker 3: It's terrible.
- 14:45Speaker 2: I am.
- 14:46Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 14:47Speaker 2: I have that thing. I just, I do stand up.
- 14:49Speaker 6: Of course.
- 14:49Speaker 5: And it's nice. Cause like if I, if I mess
- 14:51Speaker 5: something up, I will be very open. I'll be like,
- 14:54Speaker 5: I'm going to redo that. Cause this is a good joke.
- 14:56Speaker 5: I'm going to start from the top. You guys act
- 14:57Speaker 5: like I didn't mess that up. Cause if I miss
- 15:00Speaker 5: one stop or one little beat, it's like a domino thing.
- 15:02Speaker 5: And then the rest, I feel like it's kind of
- 15:03Speaker 5: not like I want to deliver the best. There's no
- 15:05Speaker 5: going back.
- 15:06Speaker 2: I wanted to ask you about at standup and just
- 15:08Speaker 2: to take it back one step further, you start telling
- 15:11Speaker 2: jokes and, and, and being funny at what point in
- 15:15Speaker 2: your life did you know like oh i'm i'm funny
- 15:17Speaker 2: enough i'm gonna take this career path i.
- 15:18Speaker 5: Don't remember anything about my childhood my parents said i
- 15:20Speaker 5: was funny so.
- 15:22Speaker 2: You had that in in the you know your childhood
- 15:24Speaker 2: they said you're hilarious we're gonna make a lot of
- 15:26Speaker 2: money off you yeah yeah they're cash cows um no
- 15:31Speaker 2: i i i i uh In terms of like career-wise,
- 15:35Speaker 2: when I got fired from my second job, I was like, oh, well.
- 15:38Speaker 2: What was the second job? I worked at Bird, the
- 15:40Speaker 2: scooter company.
- 15:41Speaker 3: You were doing content for both, you know, Bumble and Bird, right?
- 15:44Speaker 5: I was in the office nine to five. I was
- 15:45Speaker 5: like paying talent to like, and I was like, what's up?
- 15:48Speaker 2: This is so cool. I'm working with talent. And I'm actually,
- 15:51Speaker 2: it's funny. I'm like working with Bumble now. I was
- 15:52Speaker 2: like on the other side of the school. But I
- 15:54Speaker 2: was there. It takes.
- 15:56Speaker 5: It takes about six months for companies to realize that
- 15:58Speaker 5: you're not cut out for the job and you lied
- 16:00Speaker 5: on your resume.
- 16:01Speaker 2: And that was my play. That's what I was doing.
- 16:04Speaker 4: I like it so you don't kite surf.
- 16:06Speaker 2: Got it. Right.
- 16:08Speaker 5: No, and I also don't do back-end data integration, but
- 16:11Speaker 5: I did watch one YouTube video, so I know how
- 16:13Speaker 5: to talk about it.
- 16:13Speaker 3: It's like, yeah, so do you speak Python or JavaScript?
- 16:15Speaker 2: Which one is it? I lied.
- 16:16Speaker 5: I had Python, like, all of the lingo in my pocket.
- 16:19Speaker 5: I promise you. Hey, it's a good sex mod.
- 16:21Speaker 3: Please, Claude, AI, which one is it? Do you want
- 16:25Speaker 3: to do it for me?
- 16:25Speaker 2: I didn't have AI.
- 16:26Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 16:27Speaker 4: That's wild, the full circle of working with Bumble yet again.
- 16:30Speaker 5: I know. And it's funny because I share it. You know,
- 16:33Speaker 5: I talk way too much, and I'm, like, telling everybody
- 16:35Speaker 5: about that, so the comments are like, wow this is
- 16:38Speaker 5: you used to intern there like i was full-time i
- 16:40Speaker 5: just acted like an intern but my employment came to
- 16:43Speaker 5: an end and then i left and i went to
- 16:44Speaker 5: bird which brought me to la and i remember i
- 16:47Speaker 5: was where i was interviewing for bird and i i
- 16:49Speaker 5: kept throwing in the interview i was like you know
- 16:51Speaker 5: i was hit by a car on a bird and
- 16:53Speaker 5: they randomly like didn't think that was funny and so i.
- 16:55Speaker 3: Kept reading just double down though Yeah.
- 16:59Speaker 2: I kept being like, maybe my delivery was off.
- 17:02Speaker 5: So the comedy was like a little bit coming together
- 17:04Speaker 5: while I was, while I was working office jobs and
- 17:07Speaker 5: then COVID hit and I was released from that, uh, responsibility.
- 17:10Speaker 2: And then I was full time.
- 17:12Speaker 5: I was just posting TikToks and then they were like,
- 17:14Speaker 5: remember someone came to me and they were like, this
- 17:16Speaker 5: is standup by the way, if you just make it longer,
- 17:17Speaker 5: you just drag it out a little bit. And then
- 17:19Speaker 5: that was the standup beginning.
- 17:22Speaker 2: That's so wild.
- 17:23Speaker 5: Standup.
- 17:24Speaker 2: We, I've tried it during COVID basically. Really? Our little pod.
- 17:29Speaker 2: My wife and I and her cousin and her husband
- 17:32Speaker 2: and a friend, we're all staying together. And we got
- 17:34Speaker 2: up like everybody did. We got really bored. And so
- 17:38Speaker 2: every Tuesday or Wednesday night, we would like prepare a
- 17:40Speaker 2: tight five and do a bit in front of each other.
- 17:44Speaker 3: I didn't know you did this. That's the highlight of
- 17:46Speaker 3: my week.
- 17:47Speaker 4: The jokes were terrible, of course, because we're not comedians.
- 17:50Speaker 4: Let's hear one.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Let's hear one now. They're, they're, they're best kept in
- 17:54Speaker 2: the COVID house with the COVID. But what I learned
- 17:57Speaker 2: from even just that is that I'm, I get way
- 17:58Speaker 2: more nervous trying to be funny in front of people
- 18:01Speaker 2: than I do like singing or performing. Yeah. And, and
- 18:05Speaker 2: I think that's because comedy is so subjective. If someone's
- 18:08Speaker 2: singing and it's, it doesn't sound great. You kind of
- 18:12Speaker 2: know that. You lie to them. You lie to them.
- 18:14Speaker 2: But when someone's like trying to be funny and it's
- 18:16Speaker 2: just not, it might not just be for you. You
- 18:20Speaker 2: let them know. That is interesting. I've never thought about that.
- 18:22Speaker 2: I have friends that don't think the things that I
- 18:25Speaker 2: think are funny, and I judge them for it.
- 18:29Speaker 3: They don't think I'm funny, and we work together every day.
- 18:31Speaker 3: But there's a whole lot of people that do, Kev,
- 18:33Speaker 3: that think you're hilarious. Those are my people.
- 18:38Speaker 4: That's my family.
- 18:39Speaker 3: They're my daughters. They're 12 and 9. Those are Kevin's employees.
- 18:43Speaker 3: Hold on, but this is my question. How do you
- 18:44Speaker 3: do something that becomes universally... funny.
- 18:47Speaker 5: It's hard, right? To, to find a thing that everyone's like,
- 18:49Speaker 5: that is objectively funny. I love that you asked me
- 18:53Speaker 5: that question because it's 100% subjective. I don't think I'm funny,
- 18:56Speaker 5: you know? So it's like, it's, it's comedian by comedian.
- 18:59Speaker 2: I would say that the audience you've built, all of
- 19:02Speaker 2: us having been impacted by you both during COVID and
- 19:06Speaker 2: now with your career, just booming that you are, you're
- 19:09Speaker 2: like funny across the board. See, it's the simplest things, though.
- 19:14Speaker 3: I will say, it is the simplest things, Connor, because
- 19:17Speaker 3: you showed that video of you in the hotel room
- 19:21Speaker 3: in New York, and the handprints are on the wall.
- 19:24Speaker 4: I found it hilarious.
- 19:26Speaker 3: But what I found the most funny about that room is,
- 19:29Speaker 3: just how small the room is with the bed in
- 19:31Speaker 3: the window. You didn't reference the size of the space.
- 19:35Speaker 3: You just referenced the hand. I found it absolutely hilarious.
- 19:39Speaker 2: Yeah, that was bananas. Did you move rooms?
- 19:43Speaker 5: I was late to something, and I had to change
- 19:46Speaker 5: and go, and then it was late when I got back.
- 19:48Speaker 2: I slept in the bed.
- 19:50Speaker 5: Got it.
- 19:50Speaker 2: I'm not picky.
- 19:51Speaker 3: I was hopeful that they were your handprints too, but
- 19:54Speaker 3: you know, that's just.
- 19:54Speaker 2: For your own sake.
- 19:55Speaker 5: Yeah, that's the whole M. Night Shalaman twist is that
- 19:58Speaker 5: it was my handprints. I made the bed really tight.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Content, content, content. That's right. No, I mean like, I
- 20:06Speaker 2: want to be frank, I did not. I'm also like,
- 20:09Speaker 2: I'm not super picky.
- 20:10Speaker 5: My immune system is great because of things like that,
- 20:13Speaker 5: that I decided to move forward with doing instead of
- 20:15Speaker 5: switching rooms. But yeah, but that, that was a, that
- 20:19Speaker 5: was a very funny thing.
- 20:21Speaker 2: Just like things, moments like that.
- 20:22Speaker 5: Like I think that the universally funny things are things
- 20:25Speaker 5: that you had happened to or around you. Like if
- 20:28Speaker 5: you're in a car with an Uber and you're like,
- 20:29Speaker 5: this would only happen to me. Like, it, it happens
- 20:33Speaker 5: to everybody, but when you film it and you talk
- 20:34Speaker 5: about it and that's an experience that like is unique
- 20:36Speaker 5: to you, but other people can relate to it because
- 20:38Speaker 5: they have X, Y, Z.
- 20:39Speaker 2: That's always fun. That's a great point. I hate to
- 20:41Speaker 2: bring up relatability, but like, but before you came on,
- 20:44Speaker 2: we were talking briefly about this movie that I watched
- 20:46Speaker 2: last night called don't think twice, which came out in
- 20:49Speaker 2: 2016 about a improv troupe. And it's all that they
- 20:53Speaker 2: start every one of their shows by saying who here
- 20:56Speaker 2: has a particular, who had a particularly bad day. And
- 20:58Speaker 2: they build off of that concept. And it's like things
- 21:00Speaker 2: like that. Like I got in the Uber and the
- 21:02Speaker 2: driver was my dad. And that was really uncomfortable because
- 21:05Speaker 2: I'm going to a date. And it's like just things
- 21:06Speaker 2: that happen in real life that become our way of
- 21:09Speaker 2: getting through tough times, right? It's just got to be
- 21:12Speaker 2: able to laugh about it. Switching gears here, back to
- 21:15Speaker 2: Dancing with the Stars real quick. You mentioned you've got
- 21:18Speaker 2: a few weeks to prep this one. As you get
- 21:21Speaker 2: into the competition, the flow, is there any one of
- 21:23Speaker 2: the other stars that you're dancing against that you can
- 21:27Speaker 2: already tell you're like, That's my mark. That's my competition.
- 21:30Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 21:31Speaker 2: You're like, I'm going to break their legs. You do
- 21:33Speaker 2: have some history with a few people on the show.
- 21:35Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 21:36Speaker 2: I know a handful of the stars. Yeah. Sierra Miller,
- 21:41Speaker 2: Maura Higgins, Tyler Cameron. Of course. We have this great show.
- 21:45Speaker 2: Tyler right here. Get close up there. Oh, yeah. That was...
- 21:48Speaker 2: That was funny. Yeah, we did. It's very Fallon of me, actually,
- 21:50Speaker 2: just pulling this card. I know, dude. I was like, wow.
- 21:53Speaker 3: I'm like, I'm like, yeah, okay.
- 21:55Speaker 2: That's all I got. Like, what the fuck am I doing?
- 21:59Speaker 3: That's good.
- 22:00Speaker 2: Like, sorry.
- 22:01Speaker 3: You have Jenna, who's like, obviously a dancer. Is that
- 22:04Speaker 3: going to be like, going to be tough? You know
- 22:07Speaker 3: what sucks?
- 22:08Speaker 5: Is like, you can be a dancer. Like, I'm just
- 22:09Speaker 5: praying someone just like sucks, like personality wise. They are
- 22:12Speaker 5: not only all hot, as in sexy.
- 22:17Speaker 3: As in attractive?
- 22:19Speaker 2: As in, like, I want and I need them. Take
- 22:24Speaker 2: my shirt off. Can't stop it once it starts. I
- 22:28Speaker 2: like how long this one is.
- 22:29Speaker 3: It's very long.
- 22:30Speaker 4: That's what she said.
- 22:35Speaker 3: Joe's auditioning to be a stand-up right now.
- 22:39Speaker 2: Okay. Back to sexy, hot, attractive.
- 22:42Speaker 5: I haven't seen anyone dance yet, but they're all athletes.
- 22:50Speaker 5: They're all, they're like ripped at obviously Tyler Cameron. Like,
- 22:53Speaker 5: you know, we should be in a different, like obviously
- 22:55Speaker 5: weight class, but like genuine breed of people.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Like he's like a different, I was going to say
- 22:59Speaker 2: how funny and interesting would it be if they did
- 23:02Speaker 2: do that thing? You know, people talk about like, what
- 23:04Speaker 2: if we had a person to give us a reference
- 23:07Speaker 2: point of like what the average person would do against
- 23:10Speaker 2: an Olympic athlete? And it's like, you see Michael Phelps
- 23:13Speaker 2: and whoever go in the pool, and then it's just us, right?
- 23:15Speaker 2: And we're just a mile behind them. Me at the
- 23:17Speaker 2: bottom of the pool. Like, okay, got it. So they
- 23:19Speaker 2: are really good at swimming.
- 23:20Speaker 6: Oh, yeah.
- 23:20Speaker 3: Because they're all so good, it's like by a tenth
- 23:22Speaker 3: of a second, it's like, what are you talking about here?
- 23:25Speaker 2: Someone like Jenna, who's danced famously in many movies. Dancer.
- 23:31Speaker 2: It'd be funny to be like, okay, you can't use
- 23:33Speaker 2: your left foot.
- 23:35Speaker 3: Right.
- 23:36Speaker 2: Limitations. Or what's that thing like in ice skating when
- 23:39Speaker 2: it's like you can only do a certain number of
- 23:41Speaker 2: spins or tricks. You got to limit her to like.
- 23:45Speaker 3: The difficulty level is like subdued, essentially.
- 23:48Speaker 2: Yeah. And if she steps outside of that and does
- 23:50Speaker 2: a flashy move, it's like penalty. You're out of here.
- 23:53Speaker 5: I mean, they are so talented and they are like
- 23:56Speaker 5: Harry's awesome too. Glee, and obviously, Jin is awesome, so cool,
- 24:02Speaker 5: and they all know how to do all these things,
- 24:04Speaker 5: and I'm walking out of practice, and I do sweat, like,
- 24:10Speaker 5: a lot, and I'm walking out, and it looks like
- 24:12Speaker 5: I just jumped in a pool when I leave practice,
- 24:15Speaker 5: and I'm walking out, and I run into Maura Higgins.
- 24:18Speaker 2: Yeah. Traders, of Traders fame.
- 24:20Speaker 5: Yes, Traders, she's just perfect looking, and I'm like, oh.
- 24:25Speaker 5: We stopped dancing 10 minutes ago, and I'm like, You
- 24:29Speaker 5: just get here? She's like, no, we just finished. And
- 24:31Speaker 5: I'm like, okay, me too. Like, it's just like a day.
- 24:34Speaker 2: Like, it's like bizarre. People are so good. Everyone's going
- 24:38Speaker 2: to be competition.
- 24:39Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 24:40Speaker 3: Oh, we're rooting for you.
- 24:41Speaker 2: I have some unsolicited advice for you on that. Please.
- 24:43Speaker 2: You didn't ask for it. So I'm just going to,
- 24:45Speaker 2: but you know what you should say? Be like, actually,
- 24:46Speaker 2: I worked out before it came. That's why I was
- 24:48Speaker 2: already sweating. Right.
- 24:49Speaker 4: So then after I did, I.
- 24:50Speaker 3: Just had to get a quick lift in prior.
- 24:52Speaker 2: Right. As you can, as you can tell by the
- 24:54Speaker 2: way I'm built. I did. Very excited for you. It's
- 24:58Speaker 2: going to be amazing. Thank you, dude. If you're down,
- 25:00Speaker 2: we have a few voicemails. Please. From our listeners. Usually
- 25:05Speaker 2: our callers have a story to tell and then something
- 25:08Speaker 2: they want advice about.
- 25:10Speaker 5: Cool.
- 25:10Speaker 2: And we're not qualified to answer these questions, but we
- 25:14Speaker 2: enjoy it.
- 25:14Speaker 3: But they keep asking.
- 25:15Speaker 6: Hey, guys. I really need your help. Love your new song,
- 25:18Speaker 6: Listen When Sad. Thank you. But the problem is it's
- 25:20Speaker 6: got me all in my feels, and I want to
- 25:23Speaker 6: reach out to my high school sweetheart.
- 25:24Speaker 3: Do it.
- 25:25Speaker 6: We used to listen to you guys, and so I'm
- 25:27Speaker 6: just feeling super nostalgic right now. But we're both married
- 25:30Speaker 6: and moved on with our lives.
- 25:31Speaker 3: Don't do it.
- 25:32Speaker 2: Don't do it.
- 25:33Speaker 6: We're feeling nostalgic and chaotic. Please help me.
- 25:36Speaker 3: Okay, so first, rule number one, stop listening to our
- 25:39Speaker 3: song then.
- 25:40Speaker 2: She's married.
- 25:41Speaker 5: He's married.
- 25:41Speaker 4: No, Kevin, listen to more of our song. She's married.
- 25:45Speaker 2: He's married. And she listened to this song. We just
- 25:47Speaker 2: released a song that's about remembering a summer that felt
- 25:51Speaker 2: endless and wonderful with the person you were falling for.
- 25:53Speaker 3: When you're 16.
- 25:54Speaker 2: And she's asking if she should reach out to her ex. Thoughts? Concerns?
- 26:01Speaker 2: I don't know what kind of relationship she's in. She's married.
- 26:05Speaker 2: She said she's married. Right, but it could be an
- 26:08Speaker 2: open relationship. They could both reach out to her high
- 26:10Speaker 2: school sweetheart. They could both reach out. I don't know.
- 26:16Speaker 2: It didn't sound like she was particularly unhappy.
- 26:18Speaker 3: It wasn't like she was.
- 26:20Speaker 4: She didn't really say like, Hey, that's a kind of
- 26:21Speaker 4: against our rules as a married couple.
- 26:23Speaker 3: They kind of like put it on, like potentially knowing
- 26:25Speaker 3: that this could go on a live national podcast.
- 26:27Speaker 5: It kind of sounded like he was behind her being like,
- 26:29Speaker 5: and then say, um, like I can come to.
- 26:32Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 26:32Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 26:33Speaker 2: Well, Hey, Kevin, have you seen the invite? Yes. Have
- 26:37Speaker 2: you seen it? Have you seen it?
- 26:39Speaker 3: Well, I watched it in your house.
- 26:41Speaker 2: Okay. Joe, you've seen it.
- 26:42Speaker 4: I also watched it. We also watched it together.
- 26:46Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 26:46Speaker 2: It's fine. I forgot. You guys are forgettable.
- 26:48Speaker 5: Whatever.
- 26:49Speaker 2: What can I say? Um, You have watched it.
- 26:52Speaker 5: Yes.
- 26:53Speaker 3: It's insane.
- 26:54Speaker 2: I have so many thoughts.
- 26:55Speaker 5: Like, for one thing, and if you haven't seen it,
- 26:59Speaker 5: I don't know. Like, this is not going to be
- 27:01Speaker 5: a spoiler. It's very obvious. You can look at the
- 27:03Speaker 5: poster and see what's going to happen. But I think
- 27:05Speaker 5: it's a phenomenal movie. The entire movie taking place in
- 27:07Speaker 5: an apartment, one, just in the apartment, and two, in
- 27:10Speaker 5: like a four-hour period is phenomenal. It's like very 824. Right.
- 27:15Speaker 2: It's beautiful. It's an acting masterclass by Olivia Wilde. Absolutely.
- 27:19Speaker 5: Her micro-expressions were phenomenal. I thought everybody was just remarkable,
- 27:24Speaker 5: but Olivia Wilde was a standout. And the fact that
- 27:27Speaker 5: she directed it, too, is incredible.
- 27:29Speaker 2: It's insane.
- 27:30Speaker 3: It's so much to handle and process. I feel like
- 27:33Speaker 3: I have to watch it again just to, like, go
- 27:35Speaker 3: through it.
- 27:36Speaker 2: You have to watch it with Danielle, with your wife.
- 27:38Speaker 3: Yeah, she's right here.
- 27:39Speaker 2: She needs to watch it. I thought that it was
- 27:42Speaker 2: the most fun and innovative, creative, interesting kind of... place
- 27:48Speaker 2: to just set a story and the whole thing. And
- 27:50Speaker 2: I thought that Olivia did an amazing job directing. Interacting
- 27:52Speaker 2: was phenomenal.
- 27:52Speaker 4: Also, the rest of the cast, out of this world,
- 27:55Speaker 4: I think they should all be nominated. Hold on, we've
- 27:57Speaker 4: lost the plot. Why did you bring this movie up.
- 28:00Speaker 2: In the first place?
- 28:00Speaker 3: Oh, because... More than one people are invited to the party.
- 28:04Speaker 4: Because they might all sleep together.
- 28:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I did... Yeah, I brought... I kind of brought
- 28:11Speaker 2: orgy up, which is my fault.
- 28:12Speaker 3: So there might be a situation where everybody, to your point...
- 28:17Speaker 3: she might be like, her and her partner would be like, yo,
- 28:20Speaker 3: should we reach out to, he's cute still, should we
- 28:22Speaker 3: reach out to him? And as long as your partner's
- 28:25Speaker 3: down and their partner's down and everybody's cool with it,
- 28:29Speaker 3: so be it.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Yes, I think that's good advice. Yeah, or go to therapy.
- 28:36Speaker 3: And if that's not cool with everybody involved, go to therapy.
- 28:41Speaker 4: Or just don't text him. You have options, yeah.
- 28:44Speaker 2: I think that that could be, you have several options besides...
- 28:47Speaker 2: yeah there's options there's options uh this is a question
- 28:50Speaker 2: from one of our amazing uh hey jonas listeners from
- 28:54Speaker 2: kate says people are very interested uh invested in you
- 28:56Speaker 2: and brooke to the point uh that there are tiktok
- 28:59Speaker 2: edits of the two of you have you guys uh
- 29:01Speaker 2: seen the edits of each other and and what do
- 29:04Speaker 2: fans see as romantic that to you is just completely
- 29:07Speaker 2: normal brooke and connor.
- 29:08Speaker 5: Behavior yeah i think it's It's so crazy to me. Yeah,
- 29:12Speaker 5: she's like one of my best friends. I've seen the edits.
- 29:15Speaker 5: I'm a narcissist. I see the edits. It's crazy to
- 29:21Speaker 5: me in 2026 that.
- 29:22Speaker 2: The idea of a guy and a girl being.
- 29:26Speaker 5: Friends in a platonic way are so groundbreaking that they
- 29:29Speaker 5: need us to be married.
- 29:30Speaker 2: Yeah, that is true. We've got to normalize male-female friendships.
- 29:36Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 29:37Speaker 2: It's like seeing an albino animal at the zoo. I'm like,
- 29:39Speaker 2: there's only one.
- 29:40Speaker 5: Of these wow this is cool i'm gonna make an
- 29:43Speaker 5: edit of it looking up with the zebra and the
- 29:45Speaker 5: other pen yeah that's a good do it do it
- 29:48Speaker 5: why not we're so young you guys.
- 29:50Speaker 2: We also have our bowl of questions here um which
- 29:53Speaker 2: for some reason we always explain to our guests what
- 29:55Speaker 2: it is, but it's.
- 29:55Speaker 3: A bowl of questions. It's good, Nick. It's the mirror
- 29:57Speaker 3: eight ball.
- 29:58Speaker 2: Oh, cool. It doesn't have anything to do with your
- 30:01Speaker 2: career or your life, but it's just, you know, I
- 30:03Speaker 2: reach into the reach in the bowl. Yeah. How did
- 30:05Speaker 2: you get in here? Ouch.
- 30:11Speaker 3: Who invited you?
- 30:13Speaker 5: What's an item you refuse to throw away, even though
- 30:15Speaker 5: it serves absolutely no purpose.
- 30:17Speaker 2: Ooh, that's good. I just had like a really cathartic.
- 30:20Speaker 5: Come to Jesus moment when I moved apartments and I
- 30:22Speaker 5: saw how much stuff I have, like physical thing. Cause
- 30:25Speaker 5: I think I'd be a really good minimalist except for
- 30:27Speaker 5: all the stuff I have and keep.
- 30:30Speaker 2: Our mother once said, I'm a minimalist.
- 30:32Speaker 5: And we thought that was hilarious cause she's not, but yeah, no,
- 30:36Speaker 5: it's a minimalism is a mindset. You can be a
- 30:39Speaker 5: minimalist with like hand coats, but what is the thing
- 30:42Speaker 5: that you would, uh, this is disgusting. I'm going to
- 30:45Speaker 5: say it though. When I moved to L.A., Um, I
- 30:49Speaker 5: was eating a lot of Trader Joe's frozen food. And
- 30:53Speaker 5: when I moved out of my first apartment in LA,
- 30:55Speaker 5: I was totally packed up and I was like, I
- 30:57Speaker 5: better check like the fridge and I want my security
- 30:59Speaker 5: deposit back. So I checked the freezer and there was
- 31:02Speaker 5: a little frozen meatball at the bottom of my freezer
- 31:05Speaker 5: by itself, not by itself though. It was sitting atop
- 31:09Speaker 5: a frozen little mini freezer. gnocchi not gnocchi like stromboli
- 31:14Speaker 5: like little yeah and it looked like it was wearing
- 31:16Speaker 5: like a little graduation cap a little meatball with a
- 31:19Speaker 5: graduation cap and i was like you're coming with me
- 31:22Speaker 5: and the beautiful thing about trader joe's is there's so
- 31:24Speaker 5: many preservatives in that food that has moved with me
- 31:27Speaker 5: from apartment to apartment for five years i have your
- 31:30Speaker 5: mascot and i think it's a good testament to how
- 31:34Speaker 5: we are constantly graduating and moving forward and we can't
- 31:37Speaker 5: look back because we're not going that way oh.
- 31:38Speaker 3: My god i love this and i love that for
- 31:40Speaker 3: your meatball As you.
- 31:41Speaker 2: Were talking about this, I was reminded of that great
- 31:45Speaker 2: Pixar short, Bao. You ever seen that? I love Bao.
- 31:47Speaker 3: Bao's so good.
- 31:48Speaker 2: How great would a story be about a little Italian
- 31:51Speaker 2: meatball who all he wants to do is be the
- 31:53Speaker 2: first member of his meatball family.
- 31:56Speaker 3: To go to college.
- 31:57Speaker 2: To graduate.
- 31:59Speaker 3: He finally does it.
- 32:01Speaker 2: Moves to L.A. and ends up.
- 32:03Speaker 3: It's a heartbreaker.
- 32:04Speaker 2: Yeah, which maybe he doesn't want to take over the
- 32:07Speaker 2: family restaurant.
- 32:07Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 32:08Speaker 2: He doesn't want to do it.
- 32:09Speaker 3: He's like, Ma, Pa, I want to do something bigger
- 32:11Speaker 3: with my life.
- 32:12Speaker 2: I want to be an architect.
- 32:16Speaker 3: He doesn't want to be in the pasta. He wants
- 32:17Speaker 3: to be in the sandwich.
- 32:19Speaker 2: Why am I about to cry?
- 32:20Speaker 4: It's the origin story of Chef Boyardee.
- 32:23Speaker 2: Oh, my God. It's the prequel to his biopic.
- 32:28Speaker 3: Wow.
- 32:29Speaker 2: I'm signing up for that.
- 32:31Speaker 3: I'm inspired.
- 32:31Speaker 5: Wow.
- 32:33Speaker 2: As long as you play the dad.
- 32:34Speaker 3: Also, Verda trademark.
- 32:35Speaker 2: I feel like that's a really good idea that we
- 32:36Speaker 2: should capitalize. I think it's a home run.
- 32:40Speaker 3: Powered by Jonas.
- 32:41Speaker 2: Here we go.
- 32:41Speaker 3: Pixar is calling.
- 32:42Speaker 2: We're so excited for you. It's going to be an
- 32:43Speaker 2: amazing run on Dance with the Stars.
- 32:46Speaker 3: We hope that you make it to the.
- 32:47Speaker 2: Final and that you win the whole damn thing. We're
- 32:50Speaker 2: thrilled to have had you on the pod today. Thank you.
- 32:52Speaker 4: Thank you guys so much for having us.
