- 0:44Speaker 2: I'm Elisa and I'm Michael.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Today we're joined by Shasta Ives, a close friend of
- 0:50Speaker 1: Haley Athy. Shasta new Hailey beyond the headlines, who she was,
- 0:55Speaker 1: how she showed up for the people she loved, and
- 0:57Speaker 1: the kind of light she carried into every room. She's
- 1:00Speaker 1: here to help us remember Haley is a person and
- 1:03Speaker 1: to share why her disappearance still weighs so heavily on
- 1:06Speaker 1: those who knew her best. Thank you for being here,
- 1:09Speaker 1: and welcome to the show.
- 1:11Speaker 3: I thank you for having me.
- 1:13Speaker 4: One thing we like to do at the beginning of
- 1:15Speaker 4: these shows now suddenly started doing for season two is
- 1:18Speaker 4: kind of getting playing a little bit of a game.
- 1:19Speaker 4: It's just a couple of questions to kind of, you know,
- 1:22Speaker 4: get to know each other a little bit, and you
- 1:23Speaker 4: get to know more about us, and you know, and
- 1:25Speaker 4: listeners get to know a little bit more about you.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Okay, all right, So here's the first one. Summer Olympics
- 1:31Speaker 1: or Winter Olympics.
- 1:33Speaker 5: Summer and why I love the warm I can't really
- 1:37Speaker 5: do good in the cold.
- 1:41Speaker 2: That makes sense.
- 1:42Speaker 1: I feel that much of the United States is experiencing
- 1:45Speaker 1: some cold, but not where we are. It's nice here too.
- 1:49Speaker 1: It is nice, and I really love the Olympics. I
- 1:51Speaker 1: know a lot of people really don't watch the Olympics,
- 1:55Speaker 1: but for some reason, something I've always found really interesting.
- 1:57Speaker 1: I really used to watch a lot of the figures skating.
- 2:00Speaker 1: I don't know why. I thought that was really fun
- 2:03Speaker 1: and interesting. But I think I could watch both. I
- 2:06Speaker 1: don't necessarily have a preference for summer or winter. I
- 2:09Speaker 1: like the swimming events, so you know, excuse me something
- 2:12Speaker 1: to look forward to in the summer. So I think
- 2:14Speaker 1: maybe I would say a little bit of each.
- 2:17Speaker 3: All right.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Next question, what's your favorite holiday?
- 2:20Speaker 3: And why? I would say Christmas?
- 2:24Speaker 5: Probably because I have a three year old daughter, and
- 2:27Speaker 5: I love to watch her open. The presence and the
- 2:29Speaker 5: expressions on her face are priceless.
- 2:32Speaker 1: How about you, Michael, what's your favorite holiday?
- 2:34Speaker 2: With me?
- 2:35Speaker 4: It's I would say it's probably going to be Thanksgiving,
- 2:38Speaker 4: and it's because we spent years always hosting Thanksgiving, and
- 2:41Speaker 4: then I kind of built this tradition of frying turkeys,
- 2:44Speaker 4: which I got really good at after many, many years
- 2:46Speaker 4: of doing it. And I just enjoy the family get
- 2:51Speaker 4: togethers and just the just no pressure. It's everyone seems
- 2:54Speaker 4: to have good time, and I just enjoyed that being
- 2:56Speaker 4: part of my life.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Yeah, remember that one year we decided we were going
- 2:59Speaker 1: to boycott hosting Thanksgiving, and so we just went. We
- 3:03Speaker 1: went up to the mountains by ourselves, and we were
- 3:05Speaker 1: so bored.
- 3:06Speaker 2: We got we got our airbnbing. We were like, now,
- 3:09Speaker 2: what isn't so boring we do? Now, I'm just to
- 3:12Speaker 2: be frying a turkey.
- 3:12Speaker 4: So we only did it one time and like, let's
- 3:14Speaker 4: go back to hosting because it's one of those things
- 3:17Speaker 4: we had taken for granted.
- 3:18Speaker 2: How much fun it was.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Yeah, and Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday too, but it's
- 3:22Speaker 1: because you get everybody together, but you don't have the
- 3:25Speaker 1: pressure of getting the just right present for everybody. And
- 3:29Speaker 1: then my second favorite is fourth of July. I just
- 3:31Speaker 1: love summer and staying up late. And now with those
- 3:34Speaker 1: shows they have with the drones instead of the fireworks.
- 3:37Speaker 2: Those are amazing.
- 3:38Speaker 1: That's pretty cool.
- 3:39Speaker 3: Yeah, I've got to see one of those yet.
- 3:42Speaker 4: They're definitely if you ever see one, even even just
- 3:44Speaker 4: looking at it on YouTube, it's definitely worth seeing them.
- 3:46Speaker 4: They've done some amazing stuff with what they're doing. I
- 3:49Speaker 4: can I can imagine this is going to start to
- 3:51Speaker 4: become more and more popular.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Yeah. I think it's safer too, right, it feels like it. Yeah, okay,
- 3:56Speaker 1: and the last question, tell us about a hobby that
- 4:00Speaker 1: you really love.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Oh gosh, the pressure.
- 4:06Speaker 3: I know.
- 4:08Speaker 1: She did say she has a three year old, so hobby.
- 4:10Speaker 1: This might not be a thing.
- 4:11Speaker 3: Right now, I go, they're really her hobbies. They are
- 4:13Speaker 3: what we do.
- 4:16Speaker 5: I mean, really, we like to We have a subscription
- 4:19Speaker 5: to Chuck e Cheese. She loves Chuck e Cheese right now,
- 4:23Speaker 5: and really we try and check out all the Chuck
- 4:25Speaker 5: e Cheese as we can.
- 4:26Speaker 3: If we pass by one. We bought a stop.
- 4:29Speaker 1: I knew he's gonna ask you a question.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Get ready, what is a subscription cheese?
- 4:35Speaker 5: You know, I don't do what her dad does, but
- 4:38Speaker 5: I'm pretty sure he pees like a monthly amount and
- 4:41Speaker 5: we're allowed to go unlimited times every month and she
- 4:46Speaker 5: gets like so many points on a card when we go.
- 4:48Speaker 5: And yeah, it's pretty cool.
- 4:51Speaker 2: So it's it's free pizza, free games both.
- 4:54Speaker 3: No, it's it's free games.
- 4:56Speaker 5: You get like a discount I believe on like pizza
- 4:59Speaker 5: and the food, that kind of stuff, possibly even a
- 5:02Speaker 5: birthday package.
- 5:04Speaker 3: We really go for the games.
- 5:06Speaker 2: No understood. Whenever I think of that, I was, you know, I.
- 5:09Speaker 4: Used to always threaten Emma Elisa's daughter that we were
- 5:13Speaker 4: gonna take her chuck E Cheese for her sixteenth birthday,
- 5:16Speaker 4: and she was so mad, especially considering I sold at
- 5:19Speaker 4: one time where I literally pulled into the parking lot.
- 5:22Speaker 2: And she's like, no, I don't want to go.
- 5:25Speaker 4: But then I also had a friend of mine in
- 5:26Speaker 4: high school that that was actually chucky. So he was
- 5:29Speaker 4: the guy who walked around in in the mouse outfit
- 5:32Speaker 4: and we made fun of him all he made a
- 5:35Speaker 4: mistake when he let us find out.
- 5:36Speaker 2: That's good for.
- 5:38Speaker 4: Because we did nothing, But in fact, We kept going
- 5:40Speaker 4: to Chuck E Cheese even as we were in high school,
- 5:43Speaker 4: just to watch him walk around and deal with us.
- 5:46Speaker 3: That is so funny.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Now, I remember Chuck E Cheese being a reward, but
- 5:50Speaker 1: the only time I would take her is when she'd
- 5:52Speaker 1: had teeth pulled. So and she had a lot of
- 5:56Speaker 1: teeth pulled, like I think twelve or thirteen or fourteen
- 5:58Speaker 1: over the course of a year, braces and all this.
- 6:01Speaker 1: So Chuck E Cheese was the reward for having to
- 6:03Speaker 1: go to the dentist. But I think by the time
- 6:05Speaker 1: she was sixteen, it really wasn't a reward anymore. That's hilarious. Okay, there.
- 6:13Speaker 1: I did not expect to talk about Chuck E Cheese.
- 6:15Speaker 2: I did, and that's why we do this.
- 6:16Speaker 1: That's an amazing question. How about you, Michael, Do you
- 6:19Speaker 1: have a hobby that you'd like to talk about.
- 6:21Speaker 4: Yeah, everyone who knows me knows that my hobby's fly fishing,
- 6:23Speaker 4: and so fly fishing is it's elevated more than just
- 6:26Speaker 4: a hobby. It's more of a religion at this point.
- 6:28Speaker 4: And so I do flyfishing all over the country and
- 6:31Speaker 4: I was a guide for Rocky Mount National Park for
- 6:33Speaker 4: a while. So that's one of the things I miss
- 6:36Speaker 4: about now we're in Florida because it's not easy just
- 6:38Speaker 4: to go grab my fly rod and run out to
- 6:40Speaker 4: a river now, because it's not it's just not that
- 6:42Speaker 4: type of area. So but you know, we're gonna be
- 6:45Speaker 4: heading out there this summer, so we'll be getting the
- 6:47Speaker 4: fly fishing bug taking care of well.
- 6:49Speaker 1: I remember we did go to Washington and we did
- 6:51Speaker 1: a bunch of fly fishing and Trimpic National Park and
- 6:54Speaker 1: Mount Rainier National Park. So we were out there, I
- 6:57Speaker 1: think that was two years ago, two years ago, and
- 6:59Speaker 1: we spent I want to say, like three weeks. We
- 7:01Speaker 1: did not get as far north as North Cascades National
- 7:04Speaker 1: Park as you can tell. Maybe that's my hobby visiting
- 7:06Speaker 1: national parks. But that was incredibly weed some paddle boarding
- 7:11Speaker 1: and that was.
- 7:11Speaker 3: A great trip.
- 7:13Speaker 2: He was I love it.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Well, that was really fun.
- 7:16Speaker 3: Michael, thank you, You're welcome.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I love it all right, So let's talk a
- 7:22Speaker 1: little bit about Hailey. So we want to start with
- 7:26Speaker 1: what do you want people to know about Hailey.
- 7:29Speaker 5: Well, she is one of my best friends. I've known
- 7:33Speaker 5: her for fifteen plus years and she is one of
- 7:40Speaker 5: the most like genuine and big hearted people I've ever met, Like,
- 7:47Speaker 5: no matter who you are, if she just met you,
- 7:49Speaker 5: if she's known you forever, she she'd always like if
- 7:53Speaker 5: she's seen you crying or going through something, she'd always
- 7:56Speaker 5: be the first one there to like, Hey, what's going on?
- 7:59Speaker 5: Are you okay? And then try and cheer you up
- 8:01Speaker 5: at the same time. She like her smile was so contagious.
- 8:06Speaker 5: She could literally walk in a room and anybody would
- 8:08Speaker 5: just She's just so bubbly, so full of personality in life.
- 8:16Speaker 5: I just want people to know that she's loved and
- 8:19Speaker 5: she's missed, and no matter where she's.
- 8:24Speaker 6: At, we will keep seeking to find her and bring
- 8:30Speaker 6: her home and seek justice for her, because that's what
- 8:35Speaker 6: her daughters.
- 8:36Speaker 5: She has three beautiful daughters that are at home waiting
- 8:39Speaker 5: for her. So we just asked that people keep their
- 8:45Speaker 5: eyes and their ears open and if they know anything,
- 8:47Speaker 5: to please reach out, even to just me, if they
- 8:53Speaker 5: would don't feel comfortable reaching out to the Sheriff's department,
- 8:56Speaker 5: if they would like to remain anonymous. Yeah, that's it's
- 9:00Speaker 5: really what We've just been trying to find her for
- 9:05Speaker 5: the last year and try and find any kind of
- 9:08Speaker 5: lead information that anybody give us to find her, or
- 9:13Speaker 5: where she last was, any kind of information.
- 9:17Speaker 1: And so in the days and maybe even months leading
- 9:19Speaker 1: up to her disappearance, did you notice anything different or
- 9:23Speaker 1: unusual or something as you reflect back, anything that stood
- 9:27Speaker 1: out to you leading up to when she disappeared.
- 9:30Speaker 5: Hayley struggled with addiction off and on. She was currently
- 9:37Speaker 5: battling her addiction in the time she went missing. So
- 9:44Speaker 5: I myself have almost ten years clean, and so I
- 9:51Speaker 5: didn't always get to see her every day. You know,
- 9:55Speaker 5: I have to kind of keep a distance, but I
- 9:58Speaker 5: always mess said, you know, I always checked on her, like, hey, Harry,
- 10:02Speaker 5: you doing, what are you doing? Love you, miss you?
- 10:05Speaker 5: You know that kind of thing, Happy holidays.
- 10:08Speaker 3: And it was one of those.
- 10:09Speaker 5: Situations where it was coming up on a holidays.
- 10:13Speaker 3: I had actually drove.
- 10:14Speaker 5: I was driving down the road and I seen her
- 10:16Speaker 5: walking and I was like what And I stopped and
- 10:19Speaker 5: pulled over and picked her up and gave her a
- 10:20Speaker 5: ride and kind a doctor her and gave her a
- 10:23Speaker 5: ride somewhere, told her I loved her and I missed her.
- 10:26Speaker 5: We talked about trying to get her into an impatient
- 10:29Speaker 5: facility in detoxing and getting her the things she would
- 10:34Speaker 5: need for that. So I continued messaging her after I'd
- 10:39Speaker 5: gave her that ride, and that was probably the beginning
- 10:42Speaker 5: of November. So around November eleventh, I messaged I had
- 10:50Speaker 5: seen her at Safeway on Ocean Beach Highway in long View.
- 10:53Speaker 5: I seen her and she asked me if I could
- 10:55Speaker 5: give her a ride, and I told her yes, and
- 10:58Speaker 5: I'd be waiting for her outside and I was out
- 11:02Speaker 5: in my car and I seen her come.
- 11:04Speaker 3: Out of the doors.
- 11:05Speaker 5: Well, she was having troubles with her card she was
- 11:08Speaker 5: trying to use, so she told me it's okay, I
- 11:11Speaker 5: could just go, and she talked to me later. So
- 11:14Speaker 5: I went home and I had messaged her, Hey, sorry,
- 11:18Speaker 5: I hope your card worked out, that kind of thing.
- 11:20Speaker 5: I had talked to her a few times after that,
- 11:25Speaker 5: and that's when I kind of noticed. Around November seventeen,
- 11:29Speaker 5: maybe a few days later, I noticed she wasn't active
- 11:32Speaker 5: on Facebook, and I was like, oh, that's odd. Well,
- 11:36Speaker 5: I kind of kept an eye on that for.
- 11:40Speaker 3: I don't know, maybe.
- 11:41Speaker 5: Like a week or two, and I was like, I
- 11:44Speaker 5: noticed she hadn't been active at all, and that's not
- 11:47Speaker 5: like Haylee. She did tell me when I gave her
- 11:50Speaker 5: a ride somebody had stolen her phone, but that she
- 11:52Speaker 5: still had her tablet to get on Facebook with and
- 11:55Speaker 5: that's how she would communicate with people, and that she
- 11:58Speaker 5: had planned on trying to get another phone. So I
- 12:01Speaker 5: was like, when she hadn't been active for a few weeks,
- 12:05Speaker 5: I had reached out to a few people and just said, hey,
- 12:08Speaker 5: have you seen Haley or have you talked to her?
- 12:10Speaker 5: And they just kind of told me, you know, she's
- 12:13Speaker 5: just kind of doing her thing. So when Christmas had came,
- 12:20Speaker 5: so it was Thanksgiving and I had messaged her and
- 12:26Speaker 5: said Happy Thanksgiving, and my message I had went through.
- 12:31Speaker 5: Sorry to be kind of jumpy all around, My messages
- 12:36Speaker 5: had gone through.
- 12:37Speaker 3: Well.
- 12:37Speaker 5: I noticed when I because I would message her, Hey, Haley.
- 12:40Speaker 3: I'm worried. I'm worried. Where are you? I love you?
- 12:43Speaker 5: Hey, just message me. I'm not trying to bug you
- 12:45Speaker 5: about treatment or anything. I just want to know you're okay.
- 12:49Speaker 5: My messages stopped going through on Facebook or on Messenger,
- 12:55Speaker 5: and that was really off to me. It like said
- 12:57Speaker 5: could like messages could not be sent. So I was like, Okay,
- 13:01Speaker 5: what is going on? So I'd reached out to a
- 13:04Speaker 5: few friends that I knew if anything, they would know
- 13:08Speaker 5: what was going on with Haley, like either if she
- 13:10Speaker 5: got clean or if she was in jail anything. They
- 13:15Speaker 5: hadn't heard anything. So I waited a little bit longer,
- 13:20Speaker 5: and it was Christmas time messaged the Facebook profile, and
- 13:25Speaker 5: my messages still didn't go like they would send on
- 13:28Speaker 5: my end, but they would say like still not being sent.
- 13:34Speaker 5: On January third, I I had reported Hailey missing, like
- 13:45Speaker 5: I had made Facebook posts asking has anyone heard of
- 13:49Speaker 5: Haley or heard from Hailey or they've seen her or
- 13:52Speaker 5: anything that I was worried. There was comments that they
- 13:57Speaker 5: haven't seen her for a few weeks. It wouldn't be
- 13:59Speaker 5: the first time she's disappeared, not since.
- 14:04Speaker 3: She was with so and so. Then on January.
- 14:08Speaker 5: Fourth, I had made another Facebook post just saying, please
- 14:12Speaker 5: help me. I've called KPD, knocked on doors, drove everywhere,
- 14:16Speaker 5: stock tosses, messaged everyone I could think of, and I
- 14:20Speaker 5: would read those comments and those comments would be like, oh,
- 14:24Speaker 5: the last time I seen her she was with so
- 14:26Speaker 5: and so or so nobody has seen her.
- 14:29Speaker 3: Over the holidays, or the last time I.
- 14:33Speaker 5: Seen her was on Thanksgiving Day, going out mushroom picking
- 14:36Speaker 5: with so and so, and then there'd view comments like, oh,
- 14:39Speaker 5: the last time I seen her was in Kelso at
- 14:42Speaker 5: the laundry maat with this person. So I'd try and
- 14:45Speaker 5: follow all those leads like message those people, go speak
- 14:50Speaker 5: with them, go to the laundrymat, ask people around there,
- 14:54Speaker 5: that kind of thing. There was nothing, still no Hayley.
- 14:58Speaker 5: On January f I called the police Department the Sheriff's
- 15:02Speaker 5: office to be exact, and I filed the missing person's
- 15:05Speaker 5: report because I had not seen Hailey, and nobody that
- 15:09Speaker 5: I had talked to had seen Haley in four plus weeks.
- 15:13Speaker 3: That's not like Hailey. On that same day, I made.
- 15:16Speaker 5: A post for the missing people of Washington State, and
- 15:20Speaker 5: I gave.
- 15:21Speaker 3: Her description, the last places she's.
- 15:23Speaker 5: Known to be, tattoos, and the last time she was
- 15:30Speaker 5: possibly seen. January sixth, I was able to speak to
- 15:35Speaker 5: some friends that said Haley had used their phone. They
- 15:40Speaker 5: said they were able to get her Facebook passwords and
- 15:46Speaker 5: stuff from the core of their phone, so they gave
- 15:48Speaker 5: me those so I could give to the police department
- 15:51Speaker 5: to go through and be able to see if they
- 15:53Speaker 5: could get any information from her Facebook because it was
- 15:58Speaker 5: working and then it wasn't working for the messages. On
- 16:01Speaker 5: January sixth, I had made a Facebook post. I just
- 16:05Speaker 5: wanted to update everybody as to what was going on.
- 16:09Speaker 5: I said, I don't know where Haley is. I have
- 16:11Speaker 5: ideas of who she was last seen with, but I
- 16:14Speaker 5: have not made contact with the said person. I am
- 16:16Speaker 5: trying her Facebook messages have not helped at all. I'm
- 16:22Speaker 5: still working on that. I have searched places that I
- 16:25Speaker 5: will be going back to and if no luck, then
- 16:28Speaker 5: with search and rescue. I am trying to check every
- 16:31Speaker 5: place possible. I've reached out to so many people in
- 16:34Speaker 5: an out of addiction that it's insane. She has not
- 16:37Speaker 5: been spotted or contacted anyone. So yes, this has me
- 16:41Speaker 5: on high alert. This is not like Hailey. Not one
- 16:44Speaker 5: person I have talked to has seen her. But I'm
- 16:46Speaker 5: not giving up.
- 16:47Speaker 3: Please pray. There was like a lot of comments on that.
- 16:50Speaker 5: Post saying where they thought she could be or who
- 16:55Speaker 5: she could be with.
- 16:58Speaker 3: One comment kind of had us all a little shocked.
- 17:02Speaker 5: They said they had messaged the person she was supposed
- 17:05Speaker 5: to be with when she went out mushroom picking, and
- 17:09Speaker 5: the girl said the guy immediately blocked her, like the
- 17:12Speaker 5: second she asked about Haley, he just blocked her. And
- 17:15Speaker 5: they've been friends for like twenty plus years, so she said.
- 17:19Speaker 3: That was very odd.
- 17:20Speaker 5: He's never acted like that. I never got to make
- 17:23Speaker 5: contact with him myself. Still to this day, I have not.
- 17:27Speaker 5: On January seventh, I had made another Facebook update that
- 17:32Speaker 5: had said, uh, you guys who still.
- 17:35Speaker 3: Haven't found Haley. I'm trying so hard.
- 17:37Speaker 5: I've been out every day, knocking on doors, following leads everything.
- 17:41Speaker 5: I feel like today I didn't get anywhere. I mean,
- 17:44Speaker 5: I got some addresses checked off the list, but it's
- 17:46Speaker 5: frustrating and hard. I feel like so much wasted time today.
- 17:50Speaker 5: Every time I get a new lead or a new
- 17:52Speaker 5: address and show up there and high hopes that this
- 17:54Speaker 5: is it, this is where she is, and it's nothing,
- 17:57Speaker 5: I'm not going to lie and getting exhausted, but I
- 18:00Speaker 5: won't give up.
- 18:00Speaker 3: I'm so sick. I just want to find my friend.
- 18:04Speaker 5: I feel like I'm running out of ideas or scenarios.
- 18:07Speaker 5: I need ideas, I need help. The only thing I
- 18:09Speaker 5: can think to do is start reaching out to the
- 18:11Speaker 5: gentleman I've talked to and see if I should get
- 18:14Speaker 5: a group of us together and go with his dogs
- 18:16Speaker 5: and possibly search areas or areas given how many can
- 18:20Speaker 5: come help Friday or Saturday.
- 18:21Speaker 3: I need a group. These areas are huge. Please keep praying.
- 18:27Speaker 5: So just during these times, I haven't stopped.
- 18:30Speaker 3: I am. I've barely slept. I won't lie.
- 18:33Speaker 5: The first six months of Hailey missing, I probably slept
- 18:37Speaker 5: for three hours a night. I was constantly trying to
- 18:43Speaker 5: follow leads, find her, follow up on anything and everything.
- 18:47Speaker 3: I'd go out at two o'clock.
- 18:49Speaker 5: In the morning, like especially when it first started snowing.
- 18:52Speaker 5: I didn't want anything to be lost if I could
- 18:55Speaker 5: find it. On January twenty fifth, I set up I
- 19:01Speaker 5: believe it was our search first group, our first search group,
- 19:07Speaker 5: and we searched the Coal Creek area. On February first,
- 19:12Speaker 5: I also set up a search group, and this time
- 19:15Speaker 5: we searched Kelso area. I made a post on February
- 19:20Speaker 5: third asking for help trying to find Haley with a
- 19:23Speaker 5: bunch of pictures because February third is National Missing Person's Day.
- 19:27Speaker 3: On March eleventh, the.
- 19:29Speaker 5: Daily News shared Haley's story. On March seventeenth, the main
- 19:34Speaker 5: suspect was arrested for again for a DOC warrant while
- 19:39Speaker 5: searched police fan of firearm, so he has also had
- 19:44Speaker 5: a chart got a charge for that while he was incarcerated.
- 19:48Speaker 5: On March eighteenth, we had shirts made to bring awareness
- 19:51Speaker 5: to Haley's name and story. Around May third, we set
- 19:56Speaker 5: up another search to meet in Castle Rock and search
- 20:00Speaker 5: the same area again because they're very vast areas. On July,
- 20:06Speaker 5: we started noticing. Around July thirtieth, we started noticing activity
- 20:12Speaker 5: on Hailey's Facebook. Somebody took it upon themselves to go
- 20:19Speaker 5: on and off of her Facebook, and then they decided
- 20:23Speaker 5: to take it a step further and start changing things
- 20:28Speaker 5: on one of her facebooks. The things they decided to
- 20:32Speaker 5: change and say and do were very foul and inappropriate,
- 20:38Speaker 5: to say the least. I don't know what their intentions
- 20:41Speaker 5: were with that, but I can tell you it wasn't
- 20:46Speaker 5: very nice just because of the things they said.
- 20:49Speaker 4: Just so I'm clear on that, let me sorry to interrupt. Yeah,
- 20:52Speaker 4: you say they were making changes on her Facebook. Are
- 20:54Speaker 4: we talking about posting or did they have access to
- 20:57Speaker 4: her profile?
- 20:57Speaker 5: They did actually post, so they post.
- 21:00Speaker 4: They weren't doing things as her or in her profile.
- 21:03Speaker 4: They were just posting on her page both both interesting,
- 21:07Speaker 4: so they were able to get the password to her
- 21:09Speaker 4: Facebook account.
- 21:10Speaker 5: Yes, okay, yeah, they had changed like things they added
- 21:15Speaker 5: like a song to her Facebook profile, they changed her
- 21:19Speaker 5: job place. They had came on and initially made a
- 21:25Speaker 5: post saying I don't care about family, I don't care
- 21:28Speaker 5: about anything, and I think they were going to try
- 21:32Speaker 5: and portray like they were Haley, but it didn't work
- 21:34Speaker 5: because immediately the Facebook was blown up like people calling
- 21:38Speaker 5: where are you where?
- 21:39Speaker 3: What are you doing? Haiti da da da?
- 21:41Speaker 5: And that's when the truth showed that it wasn't really
- 21:44Speaker 5: Haley is because their replies to the comments where are you?
- 21:48Speaker 5: We're worried da da da. They were saying stuff like
- 21:51Speaker 5: I'm in hell and very vulgar, explicit things that shouldn't
- 21:58Speaker 5: be said about somebody missing, you know, yeah, very foul things.
- 22:05Speaker 5: Around August eighteenth, the gentleman that said, so, I think
- 22:12Speaker 5: I actually skipped a part and I apologize. After I
- 22:16Speaker 5: had reported Hailey missing, the detectives had done searching and
- 22:23Speaker 5: talk to people. They had came to the conclusion that
- 22:27Speaker 5: a gentleman was the last person she was to be
- 22:29Speaker 5: seen with, and they were supposed to go mushroom picking. Well,
- 22:34Speaker 5: the said person was arrested for a doc warn't. While
- 22:39Speaker 5: they were incarcerated for that, the detectives had gone and
- 22:43Speaker 5: talked with them. The said person said, yes, Haley and
- 22:48Speaker 5: him were out mushroom.
- 22:50Speaker 3: Picking, but that he lost left Haley out.
- 22:54Speaker 5: There and yeah, went on called Forde and went on
- 23:01Speaker 5: about his day. I'm not quite sure how the rest
- 23:03Speaker 5: of that played out, but he directed the detectives to
- 23:08Speaker 5: a supposable area they were and they went out with
- 23:11Speaker 5: canine dogs and searched the area that had had no luck.
- 23:17Speaker 5: So that is the gentleman I'm referring to in this.
- 23:21Speaker 5: While he was arrested the second time and he was searched,
- 23:27Speaker 5: that's when he the he got a possession of a firearm.
- 23:30Speaker 5: They found a firearm firearm on him in Clark County.
- 23:35Speaker 5: And while he was in Clark County waiting to plead
- 23:40Speaker 5: for that charge, what kayakumb County had filed a vehglar
- 23:47Speaker 5: homicide charge for a woman that had been killed six
- 23:55Speaker 5: months prior to Hailey missing. I guess the gentleman was
- 23:59Speaker 5: driving erratically with his passenger and they had wrecked and
- 24:06Speaker 5: the passenger had lost her life and so they had
- 24:11Speaker 5: investigated that for a year and they decided to press charges.
- 24:16Speaker 5: So the gentleman that is suspected in Haley's case is
- 24:20Speaker 5: currently incarcerated for another woman's stuff, you know, and he
- 24:27Speaker 5: has trial coming up February night through the twelfth. We're
- 24:31Speaker 5: kind of just waiting to see how that plays out. Hopefully,
- 24:34Speaker 5: while he is incarcerated for all of this, we can
- 24:38Speaker 5: get some answers for Haley.
- 24:42Speaker 1: I do have a question. I was seeing on social
- 24:46Speaker 1: media and some other places that I've been looking at
- 24:49Speaker 1: there are some images of her with someone, like going
- 24:52Speaker 1: out in the evening. Is this the same person that
- 24:56Speaker 1: you're talking about.
- 24:58Speaker 3: I'm not quite sure you've seen what.
- 25:02Speaker 1: I saw on social media that there were some video
- 25:05Speaker 1: taken of her where she was out with someone. This
- 25:08Speaker 1: is what I saw publicly, someone she had met online,
- 25:13Speaker 1: and that was like the last visual image of her.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Is that accurate, because that's what I remember reading.
- 25:19Speaker 5: To be honest, I don't know. I'm not quite sure
- 25:22Speaker 5: what it is you're talking about.
- 25:24Speaker 1: Okay, this is a good thing to clarify that sometimes
- 25:28Speaker 1: what is out there on social media or you know,
- 25:31Speaker 1: isn't necessarily what really happened. So I will go back
- 25:35Speaker 1: and do some double checking on that, because this is
- 25:37Speaker 1: why we have these conversations. If somebody were just to
- 25:40Speaker 1: search her name and say, hey, what happened they they're
- 25:44Speaker 1: going to possibly come across the same information that I
- 25:47Speaker 1: had that it said she'd met somebody online and she
- 25:50Speaker 1: was going to meet him to go out, you know,
- 25:52Speaker 1: for dinner or something like that. But you're describing something
- 25:55Speaker 1: totally different as far as the mushroom picking. So that's
- 25:58Speaker 1: what I just wanted to get some clarity on that,
- 26:01Speaker 1: and it sounds like maybe it's a different story that
- 26:03Speaker 1: I was reading.
- 26:05Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm not quite sure it's so sorry.
- 26:08Speaker 1: Okay, No, that's okay. That's why we ask these questions
- 26:11Speaker 1: and get the clarity.
- 26:12Speaker 2: Now.
- 26:12Speaker 1: I do really like that you started talking about how
- 26:15Speaker 1: law enforcement was supporting because I'm hearing you going out
- 26:20Speaker 1: of course because you're a good friend of hers and
- 26:23Speaker 1: doing everything you can possibly do, and I'm wondering, was
- 26:26Speaker 1: there any support from law enforcement with all these things
- 26:29Speaker 1: that you were doing, or were they sort of off
- 26:32Speaker 1: doing their own searching Tell me more about that.
- 26:35Speaker 5: To be honest, I can't really speak on what they're
- 26:38Speaker 5: doing because I don't really know it's an open investigation,
- 26:41Speaker 5: so they haven't really shared too much. The only thing
- 26:46Speaker 5: we've really been told is the situation had stated he
- 26:52Speaker 5: left lost Haley in the woods on Thanksgiving Day in
- 26:55Speaker 5: Rose Valley area and Haley has not been seen since.
- 26:58Speaker 5: I personally, do you know that or don't know?
- 27:02Speaker 3: The detective you know, but.
- 27:03Speaker 5: I personally, if I have people reach out with information
- 27:06Speaker 5: and say hey, can you pass this along, I definitely do.
- 27:10Speaker 1: You did also mention some canine searches. Can you talk
- 27:14Speaker 1: a little bit more about that organization?
- 27:17Speaker 5: Oh, the canine searches, So I know the Sheriff's office
- 27:23Speaker 5: has gone out to areas and searched with their canine team.
- 27:29Speaker 5: Here locally, we do also have a gentleman that trains
- 27:33Speaker 5: canine units and you can pay he's like a private investigator.
- 27:41Speaker 5: You can pay for his services as well, and he
- 27:45Speaker 5: can go out with his dogs and search. We had
- 27:48Speaker 5: actually created a GoFundMe for instances like that if that
- 27:53Speaker 5: was the route we were going to go. We created
- 27:58Speaker 5: it so that if we needed to hire, I've an
- 28:00Speaker 5: investigator or let's say those search and rescue dogs that
- 28:03Speaker 5: are private. We've printed flyers, stickers, we've done shirts to
- 28:10Speaker 5: help spread her name and awareness to her story. Contacted
- 28:15Speaker 5: news stations, I've reached out to influencers and podcasts just
- 28:21Speaker 5: like you, guys, thank you so much for covering her story.
- 28:25Speaker 1: Talk a little bit about the impact that her disappearance
- 28:28Speaker 1: has had on you.
- 28:31Speaker 5: Oh gosh, you're gonna make me cry. I definitely say
- 28:36Speaker 5: my life has changed dramatically this last year. I don't
- 28:41Speaker 5: think there's not a day that has gone by I
- 28:43Speaker 5: haven't thought about her, or where she could be, or
- 28:46Speaker 5: what I need to do to help bring her home.
- 28:49Speaker 3: It's hard, it's rough.
- 28:51Speaker 5: I can only imagine what her family is going through.
- 28:54Speaker 5: If me, as a friend, I feel this, I feel
- 28:57Speaker 5: her daughters deserve to have their mother. You know, I'm home,
- 29:03Speaker 5: And if that's not the case, they at least deserve
- 29:06Speaker 5: somewhere they can go and visit and talk with her
- 29:11Speaker 5: and bring her flowers. She has two younger daughters that
- 29:18Speaker 5: they're pretty young, so I don't know if they'll get
- 29:22Speaker 5: to remember everything, and that that's really hard.
- 29:27Speaker 1: And if anyone has any information I've heard you talk about,
- 29:31Speaker 1: I think it's the Kelso Police Department. You also talked
- 29:34Speaker 1: about the Sheriff's office, what would be the best place
- 29:38Speaker 1: for people to contact with any information they might have.
- 29:42Speaker 5: Sorry, excuse me, Yes, the Cal's ken Sheriff's office. The
- 29:45Speaker 5: phone ober is three six zero five seven seven thirty
- 29:49Speaker 5: ninety two, and the case number is A two five
- 29:53Speaker 5: dash two four seven. And the detective on the case
- 29:57Speaker 5: is James Hanberry.
- 29:59Speaker 1: And is there any anything else that you'd like to
- 30:01Speaker 1: share about Haley that we did not give you an
- 30:03Speaker 1: opportunity to share.
- 30:06Speaker 5: I don't believe so, but I just want to say
- 30:09Speaker 5: thank you guys so much for sharing her name and
- 30:11Speaker 5: her story. And anybody out their LED's listening. Please if

- 30:19Speaker 5: it could be the biggest thing to us. Please just
