- 0:01Speaker 1: Here's your host, Alex Garrett. Here's what I can tell
- 0:07Speaker 1: you right off the bat if you've been hearing about
- 0:09Speaker 1: the federal funding freeze that the Trump administration just put
- 0:13Speaker 1: in place yesterday.
- 0:15Speaker 2: According to NBC News and other outlets.
- 0:17Speaker 1: The memo sent out by OMB last night. So Social Security, Medicare,
- 0:25Speaker 1: and direct payments to individuals will not be included in
- 0:29Speaker 1: the freeze. And I know we're getting there for many
- 0:31Speaker 1: who rely on those Social Security payments, those Medicare payments,
- 0:35Speaker 1: and Medicaid payments, their payments will not be frozen. And
- 0:43Speaker 1: why do I start out with that? Because I feel
- 0:45Speaker 1: like when someone reads that federal funding has been frozen,
- 0:49Speaker 1: that's the first instinct.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Will I get my monthly check to keep going? Well,
- 0:59Speaker 2: here's what the ultimate goal is.
- 1:03Speaker 1: And you know what for agency for news agencies to
- 1:07Speaker 1: write about this as if it's some obscene thing. I
- 1:11Speaker 1: want to know why twenty six hundred programs are being
- 1:14Speaker 1: funded by our federal government. I want to know why
- 1:17Speaker 1: twenty six hundred programs have to be footing the bill.
- 1:23Speaker 1: They you know, have to have us footing the bill
- 1:25Speaker 1: as taxpayers. Shouldn't some of this go to the states.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Twenty six hundred programs that the OLNB is simply saying,
- 1:36Speaker 1: we have to evaluate.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Whether it's agenda or not.
- 1:44Speaker 1: I applaud the evaluation of these twenty six hundred programs.
- 1:51Speaker 2: To have one leg up for America.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Maybe we do give some of these program fundings back
- 1:56Speaker 1: to the state. Look at what they're saying has to
- 2:01Speaker 1: be scrutinized, more MINE inspections, USAID, foreign assistants.
- 2:08Speaker 2: My goodness, how much.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Money are we doling out to all these other countries
- 2:13Speaker 1: except for our own, Except for our own federal agencies
- 2:22Speaker 1: up till February seventh to submit information, including whether or
- 2:27Speaker 1: not there's DEI involved with these agencies, whether these programs
- 2:35Speaker 1: promote gender ideology, and all that. I don't know. I'm
- 2:39Speaker 1: trying why the abortion has anything to do with it,
- 2:41Speaker 1: but that's in this memo as.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Well and spreadsheet. But for the federal government to be.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Funding twenty six hundred programs, that's our tax dollars. Where
- 3:00Speaker 1: I'm most concerned about this is that it's also affecting
- 3:06Speaker 1: grant writing grants dispersed by the federal government, according to
- 3:14Speaker 1: this internal memo that according to the Washington Post, and
- 3:21Speaker 1: I do believe a lot of these grants are good
- 3:26Speaker 1: for organizations to be able to adapt, especially when it
- 3:32Speaker 1: comes to accessibility. So President Trump, if you don't mind,
- 3:36Speaker 1: don't touch the grant writing and the grants. Just touch
- 3:41Speaker 1: the twenty six hundred programs that we are funding as
- 3:45Speaker 1: fed as a country.
- 3:50Speaker 2: It is no wonder why.
- 3:52Speaker 1: This memo went out last night, just a week after inauguration,
- 3:55Speaker 1: by the way, because he's asking, and the Trump administration
- 4:01Speaker 1: is asking, hey, what is this funding of twenty.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Six hundred program really going to?
- 4:09Speaker 1: Is there a true government waste here that we need
- 4:13Speaker 1: to evaluate and c the nbcing here's another outlets are
- 4:17Speaker 1: writing this as some oh my god, look at this.
- 4:23Speaker 1: We could be evicted, We could be this, We could
- 4:25Speaker 1: be that local housing and organizations unsure if they would
- 4:29Speaker 1: have the funding available to help pay rents to February first.
- 4:36Speaker 1: According to the National Alliance and Homelessness, I don't see
- 4:43Speaker 1: this lasting a while, but come on, twenty.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Six hundred programs.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Need scrutiny, especially as the deck clock continues to grow.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Yet we're funding and our and our tax dollars continue
- 5:03Speaker 1: to go to these programs, which you know, we're so
- 5:08Speaker 1: busy every day, we don't even know what they go to.
- 5:20Speaker 1: But I'm hoping the O and B can figure this out,
- 5:25Speaker 1: d or unfreeze federal funding for the necessary programs and
- 5:32Speaker 1: guess what, guess what, take away the funding from those
- 5:39Speaker 1: that we may not be benefiting as Americans. The magic
- 5:45Speaker 1: number here is twenty six hundred programs. That's a lot
- 5:54Speaker 1: of tax dollars going to things that we don't even
- 5:58Speaker 1: know what we're paying into. And on this podcast, one
- 6:01Speaker 1: leg Up, we are going to have one leg up
- 6:03Speaker 1: on accountability and we'll advocate for that, which is why
- 6:09Speaker 1: I'm also asking the administration, Hey, don't touch the grants,
- 6:15Speaker 1: and of course, don't touch all programs that should be
- 6:17Speaker 1: necessary for women that are pregnant in infants, maybe for
- 6:23Speaker 1: not maybe definitely for the Medicare and the Medicaid and
- 6:27Speaker 1: Social Security assistance. Don't touch that, but do go ahead
- 6:34Speaker 1: and if any way, how much money we're giving to
- 6:37Speaker 1: all these other countries, how much we're even giving to
- 6:42Speaker 1: support those who are here illegally and maybe even on
- 6:46Speaker 1: the government dime committing violent crimes illegally, I'd like an
- 6:50Speaker 1: evaluation on that.
- 6:51Speaker 2: I would like to know where.
- 6:56Speaker 1: This information leads to. About twenty six hundred programs being funded.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Isn't that too much to you? Twenty six hundred programs.
- 7:16Speaker 1: That's got to change, and I think the term administration
- 7:18Speaker 1: will change that.
- 7:19Speaker 2: So I don't I don't have a problem with them.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Evaluating all twenty six hundred programs would a fine tooth
- 7:28Speaker 1: comb because we've got to know exactly what our tax
- 7:32Speaker 1: dollars are being used for, don't we as a country?
- 7:41Speaker 1: And then here's the other big thing that when it
- 7:44Speaker 1: comes to our money with real quick he wants to
- 7:48Speaker 1: abolish the income taxes, which could be hit or miss
- 7:54Speaker 1: and maybe for a short while we'll see a jump
- 7:57Speaker 1: in income for all Americans. But I really got to
- 8:03Speaker 1: get someone on that, because, well, salary without income tax
- 8:14Speaker 1: truly benefit the American or will it put the squeeze
- 8:17Speaker 1: on the employer?
- 8:18Speaker 2: That's what I want to figure out.
- 8:20Speaker 1: But while he's going through twenty six hundred programs, while
- 8:22Speaker 1: he's establishing the External Revenue Service and saying we should
- 8:28Speaker 1: eliminate income tax, it sounds like he's trying to make
- 8:32Speaker 1: America more financially sound and getting rid of government waste.
- 8:39Speaker 2: That's what we voted him in for NBC News.
- 8:44Speaker 1: We as a country because a lot of people saw
- 8:48Speaker 1: how much wasteful we've been, and now there's an eye
- 8:53Speaker 1: on it for twenty six hundred programs.
- 8:57Speaker 2: And I'd love to see what comes next out of this.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Hey, while everybody's crying about these federal freies, is that
- 9:05Speaker 1: you know, could be doomsday feeling right here today for
- 9:09Speaker 1: many organizations that I'm sure we'll get their funding back.
- 9:15Speaker 1: A real big win has happened in New York today
- 9:20Speaker 1: as Christy Nome and other Homeland insert and Security investigators
- 9:34Speaker 1: grabbed a trend Deragua ring leader here in New York
- 9:39Speaker 1: City based on a kidnapping warnering from Aurora, Colorado. That's right,
- 9:45Speaker 1: Trenta or trent they are argua Is in New York
- 9:52Speaker 1: and Christy Noman is here to fight that and say no, no, no,
- 9:55Speaker 1: you're coming with us. And if you don't support that,
- 9:58Speaker 1: if you don't support these visions these gang members being deported,
- 10:06Speaker 1: then I.
- 10:06Speaker 2: Don't know what to tell you, but this is where
- 10:10Speaker 2: they're going after.
- 10:14Speaker 1: The vicious illegals, the gang members who have caused so
- 10:25Speaker 1: much harm in America, have killed innocent Americans. Well, you
- 10:33Speaker 1: can cry about the federal freeze, which I'm sure won't
- 10:35Speaker 1: last long, or you can applaud what.
- 10:39Speaker 2: These raids are doing to get rid of the violence
- 10:46Speaker 2: in America.
- 10:49Speaker 1: And I know New Yorkers, even though they voted for Kamala,
- 10:51Speaker 1: I'm sure a lot of them saw this migrant crisis
- 10:54Speaker 1: has said nope, nope, we can't stand this anymore. And
- 11:01Speaker 1: New York City residents should be applauding.
- 11:06Speaker 2: That this.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Infamous trend are Ragua ringleader was caught detained, and may
- 11:22Speaker 1: they get so many more that have filtered in through
- 11:25Speaker 1: our city that aren't so innocent and helpless, but really
- 11:31Speaker 1: are vicious.
- 11:33Speaker 2: When you get the.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Viciousness out, and we need to get the viciousness out
- 11:37Speaker 1: of our federal spending twenty six hundred programs, that's an
- 11:43Speaker 1: infiltration too when you think about it.
- 11:46Speaker 2: Right, So let's think smart.
- 11:50Speaker 1: Let's think about how we're gonna have one leg up
- 11:52Speaker 1: for America, and let's scrutinize one needs to be scrutinized
- 12:00Speaker 1: and get rid of not only the waste, but the
- 12:04Speaker 1: violence in one foul swoop. That's how we have one
- 12:10Speaker 1: leg up for America. Here on the Alex Garrett One
