- 0:00Speaker 1: Three things you need to know. All right, here we go.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Good morning, friends.
- 0:04Speaker 3: Just after 6 o'clock on this Wednesday morning, Ricky Sanchez
- 0:07Speaker 3: has those three things presented by Mark Spain Real Estate.
- 0:09Speaker 4: Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey will star in a TV
- 0:12Speaker 4: show about the rumor that they're brothers. The series follows
- 0:16Speaker 4: the actors as their friendship devolves into chaos when they
- 0:19Speaker 4: discover that they might actually be brothers. This is a
- 0:21Speaker 4: whole plot based off of a rumor through Hollywood that
- 0:23Speaker 4: they could be related after people realized that they actually.
- 0:26Speaker 5: Kind of look alike.
- 0:28Speaker 4: But even crazier, Matthew's mom and Woody's dad used to
- 0:31Speaker 4: know each other and apparently in a non-platonic way.
- 0:35Speaker 5: They knew each other.
- 0:36Speaker 4: So there could be something there to it. So they're
- 0:38Speaker 4: playing off that rumor. The show Brothers comes out on
- 0:41Speaker 4: September 23rd on Apple TV. The Titans have revealed their
- 0:44Speaker 4: new Music City Rivalries jersey.
- 0:47Speaker 5: It looks sick.
- 0:48Speaker 4: The team's going to showcase the jersey during their Week
- 0:51Speaker 4: 10 home game. It's going to happen on November 15th
- 0:54Speaker 4: against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
- 0:56Speaker 5: They look so cool. I really am not lying. They
- 0:59Speaker 5: look awesome.
- 1:00Speaker 4: They're navy blue, light blue with Music.
- 1:02Speaker 5: City across the chest.
- 1:03Speaker 4: I'm not a Titans fan, so I feel like that
- 1:05Speaker 4: says a lot if I can say that this looks sick.
- 1:07Speaker 4: The new merchandise is going to be available for fans
- 1:09Speaker 4: to purchase starting September 1st. And scientists have found a
- 1:12Speaker 4: way to transform empty water bottles into edible vanilla-flavored cookies.
- 1:17Speaker 2: What now?
- 1:17Speaker 4: Not sure how I feel about this, but a team
- 1:19Speaker 4: of researchers developed a process. It uses a bunch of
- 1:23Speaker 4: scientific ways, okay? Heat, oxygen, and genetically engineered microbes to
- 1:28Speaker 4: break down the plastic that's used in soda and water bottles.
- 1:30Speaker 5: To make carbon components.
- 1:32Speaker 4: From there, the microbes in yeast turn these molecules into proteins, vitamins,
- 1:37Speaker 4: and vanilla flavoring.
- 1:39Speaker 5: All of it sounds insane.
- 1:41Speaker 4: It sounds like something that shouldn't even be able to happen.
- 1:43Speaker 4: They're called U-Bites, and they're safe to eat, apparently. The
- 1:47Speaker 4: issue is that they're too expensive to deliver to the public,
- 1:49Speaker 4: so you're not going to be able to try any,
- 1:51Speaker 4: but they do hope that further research will make the
- 1:53Speaker 4: process cheap enough to change that.
- 1:55Speaker 6: Maybe one day.
- 1:56Speaker 5: Maybe one day. And obviously, we.
- 1:59Speaker 4: We'll mention that yesterday was a really tough day for
- 2:01Speaker 4: everybody around the country, around the world, and especially here
- 2:04Speaker 4: in Tennessee.
- 2:04Speaker 6: The worst day of my entire life.
- 2:06Speaker 4: As we lost Dolly Parton yesterday. And we are not
- 2:10Speaker 4: trying to avoid that. We will be talking about that.
- 2:12Speaker 4: We are going to honor her at 7 o'clock. We
- 2:14Speaker 4: are going to honor her in the best way that
- 2:16Speaker 4: we know how at 7.15. We would love for you
- 2:18Speaker 4: to be here at 7.15, to be a part of
- 2:20Speaker 4: that if you can. Obviously, lots of emotions, lots of
- 2:24Speaker 4: feelings right.
- 2:25Speaker 2: Now, but.
- 2:26Speaker 4: we have an idea of a way that just seems
- 2:29Speaker 4: very Dolly to celebrate her life. I'm Ricky Sanchez, and
- 2:32Speaker 4: those are the three things you need to know.
- 2:33Speaker 3: Thank you for that, Ricky. Let's play Dolly Parton. It's
- 2:36Speaker 3: going to be a Dolly Parton appreciation day over here
- 2:38Speaker 3: at the river today, of course.
- 2:39Speaker 5: Oh, one of my favorite Dolly songs.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Let's go, girl.
- 2:42Speaker 6: This is how we're starting the day today. Thank you
- 2:44Speaker 6: for starting with us.
- 2:45Speaker 4: It's the river.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 2:48Speaker 4: Candace has called me sweetheart and made me really happy, guys.
- 2:50Speaker 4: It's Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning on 107.5
- 2:53Speaker 4: The River. This is Candace and Smyrna on the line.
- 2:55Speaker 5: Good morning, Candace.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Good morning, sweetheart.
- 2:58Speaker 7: Candace, clearly have never met Ricky before.
- 3:03Speaker 4: No, there's something about somebody calling you sweetheart and saying
- 3:06Speaker 4: it with that tone that really just warms your heart.
- 3:09Speaker 5: Like, I can't stop smiling now.
- 3:10Speaker 6: She's blushing.
- 3:11Speaker 2: I'm a teacher.
- 3:12Speaker 8: I'm a teacher, so I'm used to, like, little.
- 3:15Speaker 5: I'm a kindergarten teacher. Oh, that's so, so sweet.
- 3:19Speaker 7: Which is honestly pretty perfect. She said she's used to
- 3:21Speaker 7: little people. Ricky's only 4'11.
- 3:24Speaker 6: I'm not much.
- 3:25Speaker 5: Taller than your kindergartners.
- 3:28Speaker 6: How long have you been teaching kindergarten, Candace?
- 3:30Speaker 5: This is my first year teaching kindergarten.
- 3:32Speaker 9: I was a second grade teacher before this.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 3:34Speaker 3: And how's the school year? How is it so far?
- 3:36Speaker 3: I mean, you're just weeks in here with kindergartners.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Wild. Wild.
- 3:39Speaker 5: I have 17.
- 3:42Speaker 4: And they always need to go potty, and they miss
- 3:44Speaker 4: their mom, and they're thirsty.
- 3:46Speaker 5: And my name is Teacher. I don't have a real name.
- 3:48Speaker 5: I'm just Teacher. You're Teacher.
- 3:51Speaker 6: That's actually really cute, though. It's cute.
- 3:53Speaker 4: Candace, I talk about this with my husband all the
- 3:55Speaker 4: time because he's a teacher as well, and he's been
- 3:57Speaker 4: doing it for so long.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 3:59Speaker 4: And I appreciate teachers more than anyone can imagine. I
- 4:02Speaker 4: know we all do here on the show. But I
- 4:05Speaker 4: talk to him about this all the time, about the
- 4:06Speaker 4: fact that he's not allowed to be an actual human.
- 4:10Speaker 4: We don't look at our teachers like they're humans. We
- 4:12Speaker 4: look at them like teachers. So it's very funny that
- 4:14Speaker 4: they just call you teacher because seeing.
- 4:17Speaker 5: You outside of your classroom.
- 4:19Speaker 4: is such a weird experience the first time.
- 4:21Speaker 5: You're like, wait, you don't live there?
- 4:22Speaker 7: The first time that I saw a teacher at like
- 4:24Speaker 7: the grocery store outside of school, I was like, what
- 4:27Speaker 7: are you doing here?
- 4:28Speaker 6: Like, are you allowed?
- 4:31Speaker 5: You're magical. Like, it's magical.
- 4:33Speaker 6: You are not a real person.
- 4:34Speaker 1: It's magical.
- 4:35Speaker 6: Yeah, like Ricky said.
- 4:36Speaker 10: Truly.
- 4:36Speaker 4: And it's so funny when we bump into his students
- 4:38Speaker 4: outside of like school because they're like.
- 4:40Speaker 5: Whoa, wait a minute.
- 4:41Speaker 6: What's happening here? Yeah.
- 4:43Speaker 3: Do you guys have a, this is a weird question,
- 4:45Speaker 3: but you said they always have to go potty.
- 4:46Speaker 6: Do you have a bathroom in the classroom or no?
- 4:49Speaker 6: We do. Okay, that helps.
- 4:51Speaker 8: We have a bathroom in the classroom.
- 4:55Speaker 3: You still probably occasionally have to help, and that's probably
- 4:57Speaker 3: not your favorite part of the day.
- 4:58Speaker 8: Well, we use the big kid bathroom a lot, and
- 5:02Speaker 8: so it's an adventure.
- 5:04Speaker 5: It's an adventure. We're just going to call it an adventure.
- 5:08Speaker 4: Kevin's laughing because he knows exactly what you're talking about.
- 5:10Speaker 4: He has two kids, and I know that he relates.
- 5:12Speaker 5: Very much to that.
- 5:13Speaker 6: We're not in those days anymore, but my heart goes
- 5:15Speaker 6: out to you.
- 5:15Speaker 4: Well, Candace, we are so happy to have you here
- 5:17Speaker 4: listening to us and hanging out with us. We appreciate
- 5:20Speaker 4: what you do so, so much, and we are very
- 5:22Speaker 4: excited to say that you were the first caller of
- 5:24Speaker 4: the day this morning on 107.5 The River.
- 5:26Speaker 5: You got a four-pack of tickets to the National Fair.
- 5:29Speaker 10: Thank you so much.
- 5:29Speaker 5: My oldest was so excited about the Wilson County and
- 5:32Speaker 5: we missed it.
- 5:32Speaker 9: So I really appreciate that.
- 5:34Speaker 1: Oh, good.
- 5:35Speaker 3: You deserve this so much. So thank you for doing
- 5:38Speaker 3: what you do. We love you. Have a great day
- 5:40Speaker 3: and enjoy the rest of your school year.
- 5:41Speaker 2: You're the best.
- 5:42Speaker 4: Thank you. Bye, guys.
- 5:44Speaker 5: Hang on the line, love.
- 5:45Speaker 6: I was really angling for a sweetheart there. I never
- 5:47Speaker 6: got it. Is that what happened?
- 5:49Speaker 4: I'm the only one that got a sweetheart.
- 5:52Speaker 1: Candace knows.
- 5:52Speaker 5: I'm going to ride that high all day.
- 5:54Speaker 6: I know.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 5:58Speaker 4: I have finally accomplished something that I've been working towards
- 6:00Speaker 4: for 12 years.
- 6:02Speaker 7: Did you finally learn how to play the harmonica?
- 6:04Speaker 2: Nope.
- 6:05Speaker 6: Did you learn, what was the language you were trying to,
- 6:07Speaker 6: was it Irish? What were you trying to?
- 6:08Speaker 2: Spanish.
- 6:09Speaker 4: Guys, everyone leave me alone for three seconds.
- 6:12Speaker 5: Let me have this moment, okay?
- 6:14Speaker 4: I have accomplished something after 12 years. I am very
- 6:17Speaker 4: proud of myself, but I want to do, you know,
- 6:19Speaker 4: a shout out to some people.
- 6:20Speaker 5: Who helped me along the way too.
- 6:21Speaker 3: Okay, Ricky's going to shout out me and Zach, and
- 6:24Speaker 3: she's going to tell us what this accomplishment is right
- 6:27Speaker 3: after Olivia Rodrigo.
- 6:28Speaker 2: I can't wait. Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 6:31Speaker 1: On 107.5 The River.
- 6:33Speaker 3: Ricky said that she accomplished something 12 years in the making,
- 6:37Speaker 3: and she's very proud of herself.
- 6:39Speaker 6: Ricky, the floor is yours. She learned how to tie
- 6:41Speaker 6: her shoes.
- 6:42Speaker 4: I officially paid off my student loans.
- 6:45Speaker 6: Wow. Congratulations.
- 6:48Speaker 10: Thank you.
- 6:49Speaker 4: I am very proud and I'm very excited to say that.
- 6:51Speaker 4: It's something that I never thought I was going to
- 6:53Speaker 4: be able to say, especially when I did graduate from college.
- 6:56Speaker 4: I thought it was going to be impossible to actually do.
- 6:58Speaker 2: Sure.
- 6:59Speaker 4: And I just want to say, I think that this
- 7:01Speaker 4: is just really important that I'm realistic about the way
- 7:03Speaker 4: that I managed to do so because I I think
- 7:06Speaker 4: that society has given us this idea that like hustle
- 7:09Speaker 4: culture is it.
- 7:10Speaker 5: It's the only way to succeed and.
- 7:13Speaker 4: That you need to grind and never ask for help
- 7:15Speaker 4: and things like that.
- 7:17Speaker 5: And I just don't believe in any of that.
- 7:18Speaker 4: And while I never got help monetarily from anybody, like
- 7:21Speaker 4: nobody gave me money to spend to help pay off
- 7:24Speaker 4: my loans. I worked so hard for so many years.
- 7:28Speaker 4: At times I had three jobs at once and I
- 7:31Speaker 4: was barely sleeping. Some jobs didn't even pay. Also, I
- 7:34Speaker 4: can get here to Ricky's Sacramento in the morning at
- 7:36Speaker 4: some point. But I also want to shout out to
- 7:40Speaker 4: like my parents and my husband because I was given
- 7:43Speaker 4: help in ways.
- 7:44Speaker 5: That weren't through money, but through other ways.
- 7:46Speaker 4: I was able to live with my mom when I
- 7:47Speaker 4: graduated from college for years rent free.
- 7:51Speaker 5: I lived with my dad.
- 7:52Speaker 4: Both AJ and I lived with my dad when I
- 7:54Speaker 4: lost my job because of the pandemic.
- 7:56Speaker 5: And we didn't pay him a dime during that time.
- 8:00Speaker 4: I always, AJ and I, we had a relationship where
- 8:04Speaker 4: everything was equal. And at times he picked up the
- 8:06Speaker 4: slack where I couldn't and vice versa. So all of
- 8:09Speaker 4: those things helped me get to the point that I
- 8:12Speaker 4: was able to eventually pay off my student loans. I
- 8:16Speaker 4: did not do this alone. I worked very, very hard.
- 8:19Speaker 4: Don't get it twisted. I worked so hard to get
- 8:22Speaker 4: to this point, but I still had help along the way.
- 8:25Speaker 4: And there's nothing wrong with accepting help in the way
- 8:27Speaker 4: that people are able to give you help so that
- 8:30Speaker 4: you can be humble in the way that then you
- 8:32Speaker 4: can help somebody.
- 8:33Speaker 5: Else later on.
- 8:34Speaker 6: That's very sweet of you to give that acknowledgement.
- 8:36Speaker 7: Yeah, I think it's also really important, and I'm glad
- 8:39Speaker 7: that you did, to acknowledge the fact that you did
- 8:41Speaker 7: have a support system.
- 8:42Speaker 5: You need one, you know?
- 8:43Speaker 6: You have to have one.
- 8:45Speaker 5: You're able to accomplish things without one.
- 8:47Speaker 4: Everybody can put their mind towards whatever they want to accomplish,
- 8:50Speaker 4: but there is nothing wrong with accepting the help in
- 8:53Speaker 4: the way.
- 8:53Speaker 5: That people can give it to you.
- 8:54Speaker 4: Because like I said, even though my parents didn't have
- 8:57Speaker 4: a lot of money, they weren't able to pay for
- 8:58Speaker 4: my student loans.
- 9:00Speaker 5: They weren't able to pay for my college education.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:02Speaker 4: They paid in other ways, you know what I mean,
- 9:04Speaker 4: by being there for me, by not asking for any
- 9:06Speaker 4: money to live there, for, you know, making me dinners
- 9:09Speaker 4: and things like that when I didn't have money to
- 9:11Speaker 4: buy groceries, you know, like that's, that was all so helpful.
- 9:15Speaker 4: All of them were a very instrumental part in me
- 9:17Speaker 4: getting here. So shout out to my parents and shout
- 9:20Speaker 4: out to AJ for helping me get to the point
- 9:22Speaker 4: that I could officially pay off my student loans.
- 9:25Speaker 6: Are you going to shout out me and Kevin at
- 9:26Speaker 6: any point?
- 9:27Speaker 5: You guys didn't do anything to get me.
- 9:28Speaker 6: Well, you're welcome.
- 9:29Speaker 2: You're very, very welcome.
- 9:30Speaker 6: We're on the show with you.
- 9:31Speaker 1: Hello.
- 9:32Speaker 6: What does that have to do with anything?
- 9:35Speaker 3: I do think there's something for everybody to take away here,
- 9:37Speaker 3: to take help when it's offered.
- 9:38Speaker 6: Community is very important.
- 9:40Speaker 3: And also, on the flip side, to give help when
- 9:42Speaker 3: you can, to reach out that hand.
- 9:43Speaker 6: Yeah, that's the main thing.
- 9:44Speaker 4: Main point right is at the end like i feel
- 9:46Speaker 4: so humbled and i feel so lucky to be here
- 9:48Speaker 4: that i you know want to help others and i
- 9:51Speaker 4: know that i can help others in certain ways.
- 9:53Speaker 5: And maybe sometimes it's not through.
- 9:55Speaker 4: Money maybe sometimes it will be but i am humbled
- 9:58Speaker 4: in the fact that i was able to do this
- 9:59Speaker 4: and i do want to give back to others and
- 10:01Speaker 4: help others get to where they get to. And I
- 10:03Speaker 4: think that everybody should, you know, take the help that
- 10:05Speaker 4: they can get, whatever it may be.
- 10:06Speaker 6: It's a great sentiment.
- 10:07Speaker 5: There's nothing wrong with that.
- 10:08Speaker 6: And congratulations. Truly, congratulations. That's a big milestone for us.
- 10:11Speaker 6: Now she's rich!
- 10:14Speaker 4: Not even close but it feels good to be able
- 10:16Speaker 4: to pay that.
- 10:16Speaker 6: Off breakfast is on ricky three.
- 10:19Speaker 1: Things you need to know all right good.
- 10:21Speaker 3: Morning friends just after seven o'clock here ricky sanchez has
- 10:24Speaker 3: those three things presented by mark spain real estate.
- 10:26Speaker 4: Dolly parton has passed away at the age of 80
- 10:29Speaker 4: this is just an absolutely heartbreaking loss but she is
- 10:33Speaker 4: now with her husband of 59 years carl dean she
- 10:36Speaker 4: passed away at vanderbilt university medical center in nashville After
- 10:40Speaker 4: being admitted early Friday, it's been confirmed that she had cancer.
- 10:44Speaker 4: According to her nephew, Dolly will be buried in the
- 10:46Speaker 4: mausoleum at Woodland Memorial Park and Mausoleum. Here in Nashville,
- 10:50Speaker 4: wearing signature high heels and a comfortable cotton dress. Obviously,
- 10:55Speaker 4: we are all feeling this across the world. I think
- 10:58Speaker 4: everybody's feeling it, but especially here in Tennessee and here
- 11:00Speaker 4: in Nashville. Dolly was so important to so many of us.
- 11:03Speaker 4: We want to take some time to kind of honor
- 11:05Speaker 4: her with some really amazing moments throughout her life. So
- 11:09Speaker 4: we have some clips for you. This one is Dolly
- 11:11Speaker 4: on The Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson in 1977.
- 11:13Speaker 10: Now, let's pretend that I have this record out as
- 11:18Speaker 10: a 45s. record and we put it on the record
- 11:21Speaker 10: player and we flip it up on 78 speed.
- 11:24Speaker 6: Same song.
- 11:24Speaker 10: Yeah, I know everybody in this house is fiddling around.
- 11:26Speaker 5: With a record player. You have, ain't you?
- 11:28Speaker 6: I remember we've done that.
- 11:28Speaker 5: You've probably flipped one of my records.
- 11:30Speaker 10: Down on 33 and made me sound like Porter Wagner.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Well, here's how we'd sound on 78. Let me see.
- 11:36Speaker 5: If I can get as wound up as I've been
- 11:38Speaker 5: all day.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 11:38Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 11:38Speaker 5: Mm-hmm.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 11:41Speaker 2: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
- 11:42Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 11:42Speaker 10: Mm-hmm.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
- 11:44Speaker 8: Mm-hmm.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
- 11:45Speaker 7: Mm-hmm.
- 11:45Speaker 8: Mm-hmm.
- 11:46Speaker 2: Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
- 11:51Speaker 6: What a skill!
- 12:03Speaker 4: She's doing that with like five inch long acrylic nails.
- 12:06Speaker 5: By the way, as well.
- 12:07Speaker 6: Her little laugh makes me so incredibly happy.
- 12:09Speaker 2: I know.
- 12:10Speaker 5: You can't not smile when Dolly laughs.
- 12:12Speaker 6: Every single time.
- 12:13Speaker 4: She was an entertainer, not just incredibly talented when it
- 12:16Speaker 4: came to singing and everything like that.
- 12:17Speaker 5: She was an entertainer at heart for sure.
- 12:19Speaker 4: Here's Dolly Parton and Patti LaBelle. They're harmonizing using their
- 12:22Speaker 4: acrylic nails in 1987.
- 12:24Speaker 10: When I don't have my guitar, you know, I beat
- 12:26Speaker 10: around the dashboard in my car when I'm riding around
- 12:29Speaker 10: writing songs. But then I have a little rhythm that
- 12:31Speaker 10: we can do with these acrylic nails.
- 12:33Speaker 5: Can you do that?
- 12:34Speaker 2: Yep. Oh, good.
- 12:35Speaker 1: You want to play a little song for them?
- 12:36Speaker 5: Get up close to your microphone. We're mic'd right down
- 12:38Speaker 5: in here. Get up close to them.
- 12:40Speaker 1: Okay. That's cute. Can you hear that?
- 12:42Speaker 10: See, we did plan this, but we didn't know how
- 12:44Speaker 10: it was going to sound.
- 12:45Speaker 5: Well, we were planning to see if we could do
- 12:46Speaker 5: something like, Mama's little children love shortening, shortening.
- 12:49Speaker 10: Mama's little children love shortening bread. Mama's little children love shortening, shortening.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Mama's little children love shortening bread.
- 12:56Speaker 5: Wait, Patty.
- 12:56Speaker 6: I gave her the laugh.
- 13:01Speaker 5: So sweet.
- 13:02Speaker 6: Such an iconic moment. I love her so much.
- 13:04Speaker 5: And then this one's a little more recent, okay?
- 13:06Speaker 4: This is the story behind the name Jolene, the very
- 13:10Speaker 4: popular song everybody knows and loves, where that name came from.
- 13:14Speaker 10: Actually, the name Jolene, her name wasn't Jolene. I did
- 13:17Speaker 10: get that name from a little girl that I was
- 13:19Speaker 10: signing autographs for. I'd never heard that name before. I
- 13:22Speaker 10: remember signing the name Jolene, and I said, that's a
- 13:24Speaker 10: beautiful name. I'm going to write a song about that.
- 13:27Speaker 10: I said, if you ever hear a song about that...
- 13:29Speaker 10: You'll know I wrote it about you, so I just
- 13:31Speaker 10: kept thinking, Jolene, Jolene. And that's how the rhythm, you know,
- 13:34Speaker 10: like Jolene, Jolene. I didn't want to forget it.
- 13:36Speaker 5: Until I got back to the bus. So I was going, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene.
- 13:42Speaker 10: And all of a sudden, it just became Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene.
- 13:47Speaker 6: I never heard that story before, Ricky.
- 13:49Speaker 4: I figured that one is a little more recent and
- 13:50Speaker 4: maybe not everybody knew that one. So I wanted to
- 13:52Speaker 4: add that in there. We love you, Dolly. We will
- 13:55Speaker 4: always love you, Dolly. This is a very emotional day,
- 13:57Speaker 4: just as yesterday was. We are going to be honoring
- 14:00Speaker 4: her throughout the day by playing Dolly Parton. But also,
- 14:03Speaker 4: we are going to honor her.
- 14:04Speaker 5: On the show in the best way that we know
- 14:06Speaker 5: how in just a few minutes.
- 14:07Speaker 6: In the most Dolly way possible.
- 14:08Speaker 5: Yes, exactly. So if you can be here for that,
- 14:11Speaker 5: that would be amazing.
- 14:12Speaker 3: And.
- 14:13Speaker 4: Yeah, we're just we're thinking about her family right now, too.
- 14:15Speaker 4: It's yeah, it's a lot immeasurable.
- 14:17Speaker 3: Loss celebrating her all day because I mean, there will
- 14:19Speaker 3: never be another another human being like her before we
- 14:22Speaker 3: I mean, what an honor to live in the same
- 14:24Speaker 3: era as Dolly Parton.
- 14:26Speaker 5: Yeah, the same timeline. Yeah, crazy to think about.
- 14:28Speaker 6: You didn't do your thing.
- 14:31Speaker 5: Oh, I'm Ricky Sanchez.
- 14:32Speaker 4: And that's the one and only thing you need to
- 14:34Speaker 4: know right now. We love Dolly Parton. And we lost
- 14:38Speaker 4: her yesterday.
- 14:39Speaker 6: We will always love Dolly Parton. Here she is, I
- 14:41Speaker 6: Will Always Love You.
- 14:42Speaker 3: She wrote this song, another one of her classics. And
- 14:45Speaker 3: Zach has a Dolly Parton fact for us. Zach's Facts,
- 14:48Speaker 3: next on The River.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Class is in session.
- 14:52Speaker 2: Zach's Facts, brought to you by Mark Spain Real Estate.
- 14:56Speaker 1: On 107.5 The River.
- 14:57Speaker 7: Well, speaking of Dolly Parton songs, did you guys know
- 14:59Speaker 7: that she actually holds the Guinness World Record for landing
- 15:03Speaker 7: top 20 hit on the hot country songs in seven
- 15:07Speaker 7: separate decades?
- 15:08Speaker 5: I learned this yesterday.
- 15:10Speaker 6: It's actually insane.
- 15:11Speaker 3: That's so impressive. One of the bajillion impressive things about her.
- 15:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 15:15Speaker 6: There's your fact of the day, and we love you, Dolly.
- 15:17Speaker 6: Thank you, Zach.
- 15:18Speaker 2: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 15:21Speaker 1: On 107.5 The River.
- 15:22Speaker 3: Like we said, we've said it so many times, but
- 15:24Speaker 3: we will be thinking about, talking about, paying tribute to
- 15:27Speaker 3: Dolly Parton all morning here. And we wanted to do
- 15:29Speaker 3: something as a show. We wanted to kind of come
- 15:31Speaker 3: together and... Pay tribute, honor her in the best way possible.
- 15:36Speaker 3: And one of our favorite things about her is her
- 15:38Speaker 3: imagination library.
- 15:39Speaker 4: Dolly's Imagination Library. She founded it in 1995 to send
- 15:43Speaker 4: free books directly to children from birth to age five,
- 15:46Speaker 4: regardless of their parents' income. Over 300 million books.
- 15:50Speaker 5: Have been given to children since the program started.
- 15:53Speaker 6: Did you say 300 million?
- 15:55Speaker 5: 300 million.
- 15:56Speaker 6: That's crazy.
- 15:57Speaker 4: And it's now expanded to five countries that are a
- 16:00Speaker 4: part of Dolly's Imagination Library.
- 16:02Speaker 2: And.
- 16:02Speaker 4: She was so charitable and so beautiful in that way.
- 16:06Speaker 4: That is one of everyone's favorite qualities that Dolly had.
- 16:08Speaker 5: She could have been a billionaire, but she gave so
- 16:10Speaker 5: much money to people in need. So the best way that.
- 16:13Speaker 4: We can think to honor her is to donate to
- 16:15Speaker 4: Dolly's Imagination Library. But here's where you get involved, okay?
- 16:19Speaker 4: Every single person who calls us... Right now, we're about
- 16:22Speaker 4: to get into commercials. We're going to answer the phone lines.
- 16:24Speaker 4: We're going to open them up.
- 16:25Speaker 5: Every person that calls, we as a show are.
- 16:27Speaker 4: Going to donate a dollar to Dolly's Imagination Library.
- 16:30Speaker 3: Yeah, we're going to keep this super quick. You just
- 16:32Speaker 3: tell us your name, say, I love Dolly. You get
- 16:35Speaker 3: two seconds, and we go on to the next call.
- 16:36Speaker 3: We're going to try to get through as many as
- 16:38Speaker 3: humanly possible.
- 16:38Speaker 6: Would I tell you that.
- 16:39Speaker 7: I've loved the Imagination Library for so long that I
- 16:42Speaker 7: literally started a fundraiser while I was in high school
- 16:44Speaker 7: and went around to my entire neighborhood and was trying
- 16:46Speaker 7: to collect money for the Imagination Library because I've loved
- 16:49Speaker 7: it for that long.
- 16:51Speaker 6: It's such a cool program.
- 16:52Speaker 5: It's an amazing program. And I love that you did
- 16:54Speaker 5: that because now we're going to do.
- 16:55Speaker 4: It again, just in a different way.
- 16:59Speaker 5: 615-737-9107.
- 16:59Speaker 4: Like Kevin said, quick though, okay? Because we want to
- 17:01Speaker 4: get through as many as we can within this commercial
- 17:04Speaker 4: break that we're about to do.
- 17:05Speaker 5: Because when we come back. is when we're going to
- 17:07Speaker 5: obviously have to end.
- 17:09Speaker 4: So just as many people as we can get through,
- 17:11Speaker 4: we'll tally it up and we will donate to Dolly's
- 17:13Speaker 4: Imagination Library.
- 17:14Speaker 5: It's the best way we know how to honor her.
- 17:16Speaker 1: And her legacy.
- 17:16Speaker 6: It's the most Dolly thing to do. For sure. So charitable.
- 17:19Speaker 6: Such a huge heart.
- 17:21Speaker 3: Again, if you don't have the phone number, we'll say
- 17:25Speaker 3: it slow.
- 17:26Speaker 2: 615-737-9107.
- 17:26Speaker 3: Whoever you are, wherever you are, call us right now.
- 17:29Speaker 3: Let's raise some money for this great cause.
- 17:31Speaker 2: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 17:33Speaker 4: We opened up the phone lines on 107.5 The River.
- 17:35Speaker 4: For everybody that called, we were going to donate a
- 17:37Speaker 4: dollar to Dolly's Imagination Library.
- 17:40Speaker 5: We had so many calls.
- 17:41Speaker 3: This is just a bit of how we've spent the
- 17:44Speaker 3: last 15 minutes.
- 17:45Speaker 6: It's 107.5 The River.
- 17:46Speaker 8: Hi.
- 17:47Speaker 9: Hi, I'm Amber from Hendersonville.
- 17:49Speaker 8: The Imagination Library was a big blessing to my son.
- 17:52Speaker 10: So I definitely wanted to call.
- 17:54Speaker 5: Amazing. Thank you so much, Amber. Have a great day, love.
- 17:56Speaker 8: You too.
- 17:57Speaker 6: Cha-ching.
- 17:58Speaker 5: Hello, good morning. It's 107.5 The River.
- 18:00Speaker 8: Hey, it's April, and I absolutely love Dolly.
- 18:03Speaker 2: Yay!
- 18:03Speaker 6: Thank you, April.
- 18:05Speaker 2: Bye, guys. Bye.
- 18:06Speaker 5: Hello, good morning. It's 107.5 The River.
- 18:08Speaker 7: Yeah, it's Kaylee.
- 18:10Speaker 9: We all love Dolly so much, and this is really
- 18:12Speaker 9: kind of y'all.
- 18:13Speaker 5: Aw, thank you, Kaylee.
- 18:14Speaker 4: Thank you for calling, and you just added to our donation.
- 18:16Speaker 6: Thank you, love. Another dollar. Okay, bye. Bye.
- 18:20Speaker 5: Hello, good morning. It's 107.5 The River.
- 18:21Speaker 2: Who's this?
- 18:23Speaker 1: Hi.
- 18:23Speaker 10: We love Dolly.
- 18:25Speaker 2: We love Dolly.
- 18:27Speaker 5: Oh, thank you, love.
- 18:29Speaker 6: Donating on your behalf. Thank you for calling.
- 18:31Speaker 10: Okay.
- 18:33Speaker 6: Bye.
- 18:34Speaker 5: Hello, good morning.
- 18:35Speaker 9: Good morning.
- 18:36Speaker 5: What's your name, love?
- 18:37Speaker 6: Jill. Well, thank you for calling.
- 18:39Speaker 3: That's another dollar for Dolly's Imagination Library.
- 18:42Speaker 7: Thank you.
- 18:43Speaker 4: I love Dolly.
- 18:44Speaker 6: We all love Dolly.
- 18:46Speaker 8: I miss her so much. Love her.
- 18:48Speaker 4: Love you, Dolly. Love y'all.
- 18:50Speaker 6: Thank you.
- 18:50Speaker 5: We love you. Hello, good morning.
- 18:53Speaker 9: Hey, Jamie Rolls.
- 18:55Speaker 7: I love Dolly.
- 18:55Speaker 5: Hell yeah. Let's go.
- 18:57Speaker 7: We're going to be broke by the end of this.
- 19:00Speaker 6: I hope so.
- 19:01Speaker 2: Bye, guys.
- 19:03Speaker 5: Hello, good morning.
- 19:04Speaker 7: Good morning.
- 19:05Speaker 5: This is Faith Rollins. I'm calling for Dolly. Heck yeah.
- 19:08Speaker 5: Another dollar to Dolly's imagination library. Thank you, love.
- 19:11Speaker 6: Love you guys. Thank you.
- 19:12Speaker 2: Love you. Bye, Dolly.
- 19:14Speaker 6: Dollars for Dolly is what we should call this.
- 19:15Speaker 5: Dollars for Dolly. I like you, Kevin. Hello, good morning.
- 19:19Speaker 2: Hi.
- 19:20Speaker 5: What's your name, love? Thank you for calling. We got
- 19:24Speaker 5: more dollars to Dolly because of you.
- 19:28Speaker 1: Bye.
- 19:29Speaker 2: Bye.
- 19:29Speaker 6: Thank you. Hello.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Good morning.
- 19:31Speaker 4: It's 107.5 The River.
- 19:32Speaker 2: Hi.
- 19:33Speaker 6: This is Brandy.
- 19:34Speaker 2: This is Liz.
- 19:36Speaker 5: And we love Dolly.
- 19:37Speaker 1: Yay.
- 19:38Speaker 6: Brandy and Liz, thank you for calling another dollar for Dolly.
- 19:41Speaker 2: We love it.
- 19:42Speaker 7: We love y'all.
- 19:43Speaker 8: Thank y'all for what y'all doing for her.
- 19:44Speaker 6: Oh, we love you.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Bye, doll.
- 19:46Speaker 6: This is making me emotional. There's so much love.
- 19:48Speaker 2: I know.
- 19:48Speaker 5: I'm ready to cry right now. goosebumps.
- 19:51Speaker 6: We still have so many moments.
- 19:52Speaker 2: I know.
- 19:53Speaker 4: Let's go.
- 19:53Speaker 1: Let's go.
- 19:53Speaker 6: They're constantly full.
- 19:54Speaker 2: Hello.
- 19:54Speaker 4: Good morning.
- 19:55Speaker 5: It's 107.5 The River.
- 19:57Speaker 10: Good morning.
- 19:58Speaker 2: I love Dolly.
- 19:59Speaker 7: Yes, we all love Dolly.
- 20:01Speaker 6: We all love Dolly. So much love. What's your name?
- 20:03Speaker 9: Stacy from Carolina, Tennessee.
- 20:06Speaker 6: Thank you, Stacy. Thank you for being a part of this.
- 20:08Speaker 1: All right.
- 20:09Speaker 2: Thank you. All right. Bye-bye.
- 20:10Speaker 10: Bye.
- 20:11Speaker 3: Well, those were some of the many, many calls that
- 20:13Speaker 3: we have taken here in the last 15, 20 minutes.
- 20:16Speaker 6: We were doing a dollar for each call.
- 20:17Speaker 2: And, Ricky?
- 20:19Speaker 4: We got 36 calls. We got through to 36 different people.
- 20:23Speaker 4: But we know that when we got through to some
- 20:25Speaker 4: of them, they said, we've been calling, we've been calling,
- 20:26Speaker 4: and we couldn't get through.
- 20:27Speaker 6: They literally said we called 40 times. Yeah.
- 20:31Speaker 4: So, you know, $ 36 just doesn't seem like enough. I
- 20:34Speaker 4: think we can all agree on what? $ 200 as a show?
- 20:38Speaker 6: I think we should donate $ 200.
- 20:40Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 20:40Speaker 5: Okay.
- 20:41Speaker 4: As a show, we are going to donate $ 200 to
- 20:43Speaker 4: Dolly's Imagination Library so that more kids can get more books.
- 20:47Speaker 3: On behalf of everybody we talked to and everybody that
- 20:49Speaker 3: was trying to call and everybody out there, 200, yeah,
- 20:51Speaker 3: that's the least we can do.
- 20:52Speaker 6: I'm so emotional. I, like, I'm tearing up.
- 20:53Speaker 2: I am, too.
- 20:54Speaker 7: Also, we spoke to so many families that were like, yo,
- 20:56Speaker 7: my kids actually benefited from this program so much. And
- 20:59Speaker 7: there's so many Middle Tennessee families that benefit from this program.
- 21:02Speaker 7: So I'm happy to donate the $ 200. If we can
- 21:05Speaker 7: help our community like Dolly did, let's do it.
- 21:07Speaker 6: For sure.
- 21:08Speaker 5: Thank you guys for being a part of it. We
- 21:09Speaker 5: appreciate you more than you know.
- 21:10Speaker 3: We are playing the game of the day here in
- 21:12Speaker 3: a few minutes, but I guess the takeaway, try to
- 21:14Speaker 3: live today and live every day like Dolly.
- 21:16Speaker 6: We're all going to learn from Dolly and be more
- 21:17Speaker 6: like Dolly.
- 21:18Speaker 5: What would Dolly do every day? Yep.
- 21:19Speaker 6: For sure.
- 21:20Speaker 2: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 21:22Speaker 5: Shabuzy is coming to town September 18th. He's playing in
- 21:25Speaker 5: Ascend Amphitheater.
- 21:26Speaker 4: Those are the tickets that you are going to get
- 21:27Speaker 4: if you win Kevin Mano's Game of the Day on 107.5
- 21:29Speaker 4: The River.
- 21:30Speaker 5: We're putting two people up against each other.
- 21:34Speaker 3: Ava is in Kingston Springs right now.
- 21:36Speaker 6: Good morning, Ava.
- 21:37Speaker 3: Good morning. Welcome to the show. Your opponent is Kayla
- 21:41Speaker 3: in Murfreesboro.
- 21:41Speaker 6: Good morning, Kayla.
- 21:43Speaker 10: Good morning.
- 21:44Speaker 3: Thank you for being here, both of you. Here is
- 21:46Speaker 3: how the game works. It's called Title Fight. I am
- 21:48Speaker 3: going to slowly read you some song titles from one artist.
- 21:52Speaker 3: If you know the artist, you shout out your name.
- 21:54Speaker 3: Your name is your buzzer. You shout out your name
- 21:56Speaker 3: to buzz in, and you tell us who the artist is, okay?
- 21:59Speaker 1: Okay.
- 21:59Speaker 3: All right, you need two out of three of them
- 22:01Speaker 3: to get these shaboozy tickets, and your game starts right now.
- 22:07Speaker 3: The Seeker. Coat of Many Colors. My Tennessee mountain home.
- 22:15Speaker 3: Nine to five.
- 22:17Speaker 4: Kayla.
- 22:18Speaker 2: Kayla.
- 22:20Speaker 1: Dolly.
- 22:21Speaker 2: Dolly.
- 22:21Speaker 5: One and only. A point for Kayla.
- 22:25Speaker 3: I had to start with Dolly today. Ava, look alive.
- 22:28Speaker 3: You need this to stay in it, okay?
- 22:29Speaker 1: Okay.
- 22:29Speaker 5: All right, here we go.
- 22:32Speaker 6: Used to be young.
- 22:35Speaker 1: Malibu.
- 22:37Speaker 6: The climb. Wrecking ball.
- 22:40Speaker 9: Kayla.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Kayla?
- 22:42Speaker 9: Miley Cyrus.
- 22:44Speaker 6: That is Miley Cyrus.
- 22:46Speaker 3: Dolly Parton's goddaughter for the win.
- 22:48Speaker 6: Way to go, Kayla.
- 22:49Speaker 5: Yay! Thank you for playing.
- 22:51Speaker 2: Good job, Ava.
- 22:53Speaker 5: Oh, that was really sweet.
- 22:54Speaker 6: Thank you. You did so good.
- 22:55Speaker 5: Oh, guys, we love when this happens.
- 22:57Speaker 6: The sportsmanship is beautiful. I know, it's so cute.
- 22:59Speaker 4: Ava, thank you so much for playing. We appreciate you.
- 23:02Speaker 4: Sorry you didn't win today.
- 23:03Speaker 5: Thank you for having me.
- 23:04Speaker 6: We always watch.
- 23:05Speaker 5: Your radio station.
- 23:06Speaker 2: Oh, thank you. Thank you.
- 23:08Speaker 1: Three things you need to know. Hello, friends.
- 23:10Speaker 3: Just past 8 o'clock here on this Wednesday morning. Thank
- 23:12Speaker 3: you for starting the day with us. Ricky Sanchez has
- 23:15Speaker 3: those three things presented by Mark Spain Real Estate.
- 23:17Speaker 4: Tickets for Marvel's Avengers Endgame Encore are officially on sale.
- 23:22Speaker 4: So the movie's going to return to theaters September 25th,
- 23:25Speaker 4: and it's going to have an exclusive look at Avengers Doomsday,
- 23:28Speaker 4: which doesn't come out until December 18th. An additional sneak
- 23:31Speaker 4: peek of the film, at the film, of the film...
- 23:36Speaker 4: is also going to be available to audiences who see
- 23:38Speaker 4: Avengers Endgame Encore on IMAX and Infinity Vision. So if
- 23:43Speaker 4: you pick either of those, you're getting even more of
- 23:45Speaker 4: a sneak peek. But if you go, you're going to
- 23:47Speaker 4: have more information about Avengers Doomsday than what is available
- 23:50Speaker 4: to us at this moment in time.
- 23:52Speaker 5: Like I said, it's going to be in theaters September 25th.
- 23:55Speaker 4: The Tennessee Department of Revenue announced when the local grocery
- 23:58Speaker 4: tax is going to decrease. Davidson County's local grocery tax
- 24:01Speaker 4: will decrease November 1st. The local tax rate on food
- 24:04Speaker 4: and food ingredients will drop to 1.75%. Keep in mind,
- 24:08Speaker 4: the state's 4% grocery tax is still going to be there.
- 24:11Speaker 4: So it's going to be a combined tax rate of 5.75%.
- 24:17Speaker 4: The lower local rate applies throughout Davidson County, including Berry Hill,
- 24:21Speaker 4: Bell Mead, Oak Hill, Forest Hills, and the Davidson County
- 24:24Speaker 4: portion of Goodlettsville. And Angry Orchard, they have teamed up
- 24:29Speaker 4: with Scream for a collab for their new Halloween pack.
- 24:33Speaker 4: So the limited edition Scream-themed Thriller Variety Pack includes their
- 24:37Speaker 4: returning blood orange flavor and headless pumpkin ciders, plus a
- 24:41Speaker 4: new caramel apple curse and a mystery collar flavor.
- 24:45Speaker 5: That you have to guess what the flavor is. The
- 24:48Speaker 5: packaging also glows in the dark, revealing Ghostface and a
- 24:51Speaker 5: quote from the movie.
- 24:52Speaker 4: I feel like this is literally made for me because
- 24:55Speaker 4: of the fact that it's Scream, my favorite Halloween movie,
- 24:59Speaker 4: so spooky season themed, and it's cider, so I can
- 25:03Speaker 4: actually drink it because I'm gluten-free. The packs are rolling
- 25:05Speaker 4: out nationwide. I am going to get one as soon
- 25:08Speaker 4: as I possibly can so that I can try the
- 25:09Speaker 4: mystery flavor and try and guess it if.
- 25:12Speaker 6: You get it.
- 25:13Speaker 5: Tell me what you think it is i'm ricky sanchez
- 25:15Speaker 5: and those are.
- 25:15Speaker 3: The three things you need to know ricky zach and
- 25:17Speaker 3: meno in the morning on 107.5 the river.
- 25:20Speaker 4: We are spreading positivity in the name of dolly on 107.5
- 25:23Speaker 4: the river she was such a positive uplifting person if
- 25:26Speaker 4: you have something that you've done recently that you're proud
- 25:29Speaker 4: of whether it's small or large we want to hear
- 25:31Speaker 4: from you 615-737-9107 but some of us on the show
- 25:33Speaker 4: have some things we're proud of.
- 25:34Speaker 5: First well this is.
- 25:38Speaker 3: That's the first thing that came to mind for me
- 25:40Speaker 3: because Dolly was so charitable. My friend Summer just told
- 25:44Speaker 3: me this story yesterday. She is a fellow parent, and
- 25:48Speaker 3: her son is friends with my son, and they were
- 25:50Speaker 3: out recently.
- 25:51Speaker 6: He was with them, and they were driving.
- 25:52Speaker 3: And she told me yesterday that they were coming up
- 25:55Speaker 3: to an intersection, and there was an unhoused man there
- 25:58Speaker 3: on the corner. And from the back seat, Riley was like, oh, wait, wait, wait.
- 26:01Speaker 3: And he was digging through his pocket. He was pulling
- 26:02Speaker 3: out change and stuff. Like whatever he had to give
- 26:05Speaker 3: to her to roll down her window and give to.
- 26:07Speaker 6: This man out there.
- 26:08Speaker 5: A proud parent moment.
- 26:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:09Speaker 3: And just knowing that he did that fully unprompted, just
- 26:13Speaker 3: on his own, wanted to give this guy whatever he
- 26:15Speaker 3: had in his pockets. That's so sweet, Kev. Made me
- 26:19Speaker 3: extremely proud. So I'm proud of him. And Summer, thank
- 26:21Speaker 3: you for telling me that.
- 26:23Speaker 1: Oh, my heart.
- 26:23Speaker 2: That's so sweet.
- 26:24Speaker 5: That's so sweet.
- 26:25Speaker 4: Zach, do you want to share what you're proud of?
- 26:27Speaker 6: God, I don't want to go after that.
- 26:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 26:30Speaker 6: I had two different things.
- 26:32Speaker 7: I was going to say, first of all, I'm very
- 26:33Speaker 7: proud of the fact that I did not go shopping at.
- 26:35Speaker 6: Lululemon last week.
- 26:37Speaker 5: Okay, proud of you too.
- 26:38Speaker 6: It's been an entire week without me going shopping. That's huge.
- 26:41Speaker 7: And then I will say, second of all, Going through
- 26:43Speaker 7: hard things is really like hard and it's hard to
- 26:47Speaker 7: ask for help. So I'm proud of the fact that
- 26:49Speaker 7: I'm still going to therapy every single week.
- 26:51Speaker 2: Oh, that's good.
- 26:51Speaker 5: I'm proud of you too.
- 26:52Speaker 6: And so I think it's like.
- 26:53Speaker 7: Very powerful to still be able to go and speak
- 26:55Speaker 7: to my therapist and not like cancel last minute or
- 26:58Speaker 7: like be anxious about going because going through hard things.
- 27:01Speaker 6: It's okay to ask for help.
- 27:03Speaker 5: Absolutely agree. For sure.
- 27:04Speaker 6: Well said.
- 27:04Speaker 5: Two things we are very proud of you for.
- 27:06Speaker 4: Honestly, we might be more proud of you for the
- 27:08Speaker 4: Lululemon one.
- 27:09Speaker 2: I know.
- 27:09Speaker 5: I know that one's even harder for you than the
- 27:10Speaker 5: therapy one.
- 27:11Speaker 2: True.
- 27:11Speaker 5: But we are very proud of you either way.
- 27:14Speaker 4: I talked about this a little bit earlier, but I,
- 27:16Speaker 4: after 12 years, have finally paid off my student loans.
- 27:19Speaker 5: And I'm very proud of myself for that.
- 27:21Speaker 2: Heck yeah, girl.
- 27:22Speaker 4: Took a lot of, you know, work and a lot of,
- 27:24Speaker 4: you know, everybody supporting me.
- 27:26Speaker 5: And I'm just really proud of that.
- 27:27Speaker 6: And now your credit's going to tank.
- 27:29Speaker 2: So good job. Yes, it is.
- 27:30Speaker 5: I'm not looking forward to it.
- 27:33Speaker 3: If you have an accomplishment, big or small, anything to
- 27:36Speaker 3: shout out, spreading positivity in the name of Dolly.
- 27:39Speaker 1: 615-737-9107.
- 27:40Speaker 6: We want to hear it.
- 27:42Speaker 2: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
- 27:45Speaker 6: It's 107.5 The River.
- 27:46Speaker 2: Hello, Mary.
- 27:46Speaker 6: That's Mary. She's calling from White's Creek.
- 27:49Speaker 3: Mary, we are going around kind of shouting out some accomplishments,
- 27:52Speaker 3: things that we're proud of. We're spreading positivity in the
- 27:54Speaker 3: name of Dolly Parton. She was such an incredible light
- 27:57Speaker 3: in this world, such a positive person. So big or small,
- 28:00Speaker 3: do you have an accomplishment that you're proud of?
- 28:02Speaker 1: Yes.
- 28:03Speaker 9: Well, actually, I just last Friday completed treatment for alcohol addiction.
- 28:09Speaker 6: Whoa.
- 28:10Speaker 9: And while I was there, I became a wing leader
- 28:12Speaker 9: for the women, which led me to decide to become
- 28:16Speaker 9: an addiction counselor as well.
- 28:18Speaker 6: Oh, my goodness.
- 28:18Speaker 1: That is amazing.
- 28:19Speaker 9: So I'm happy and sober, and I continue recovery because
- 28:22Speaker 9: it still continues after rehab.
- 28:25Speaker 7: I will say I am so proud of you. And
- 28:27Speaker 7: I know how difficult and how hard it is. And
- 28:30Speaker 7: to admit the fact that you had a problem is
- 28:32Speaker 7: the most powerful part. And the fact that you're willing
- 28:35Speaker 7: to talk about it afterward and help other people is really,
- 28:38Speaker 7: really incredible.
- 28:39Speaker 8: I definitely recommend if you do have a problem and
- 28:42Speaker 8: you know you do, seek help. I was the one
- 28:45Speaker 8: that called and told my husband I need help. And
- 28:48Speaker 8: he drove me down to Columbia, Tennessee for inpatient help.
- 28:53Speaker 9: And that was the best.
- 28:54Speaker 6: Wow, that's inspiring. You're awesome. Thank you for sharing that.
- 28:57Speaker 6: And thank you for now using your time to help others.
- 28:59Speaker 6: That's incredible.
- 29:00Speaker 5: Thank you so much for calling, love, and for hanging
- 29:02Speaker 5: out with us.
- 29:02Speaker 1: Oh, you're welcome.
- 29:04Speaker 5: You have a good day.
- 29:05Speaker 6: You too.
- 29:06Speaker 3: Veronica in Murfreesboro is on the line now. Veronica, do
- 29:10Speaker 3: you have something, an accomplishment you're proud of?
- 29:13Speaker 4: I just finished writing my first book.
- 29:17Speaker 9: And ironically enough, the name of the book is Be Positive.
- 29:21Speaker 2: So it's a memoir. And it's a memoir of my life.
- 29:27Speaker 5: I had a viral video.
- 29:28Speaker 6: I don't know. Y'all might have heard about it.
- 29:29Speaker 9: It was like stay out of the shark's house back
- 29:32Speaker 9: about 11 years ago.
- 29:33Speaker 6: And I had a reality show.
- 29:35Speaker 2: I have MS.
- 29:36Speaker 7: I have a son with autism.
- 29:38Speaker 9: I just recently beat breast cancer.
- 29:42Speaker 1: So it's just a.
- 29:43Speaker 9: Memoir of all the things that I've gone through. All
- 29:45Speaker 9: versions will be available on September the 1st, which is
- 29:48Speaker 9: next week.
- 29:49Speaker 5: That is so exciting.
- 29:51Speaker 6: Congratulations. That's so exciting. Thank you for sharing them with us.
- 29:54Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 29:55Speaker 1: Thank you so much.
- 29:56Speaker 2: Love you guys.
- 29:57Speaker 6: I love listening to you all.
- 29:58Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 29:58Speaker 1: We love you so much.
- 29:59Speaker 6: Can't wait to read the book. Thank you for being
- 30:00Speaker 6: a positive light.
- 30:01Speaker 5: In the world.
- 30:02Speaker 2: Yeah, so that's it. I just want to spread positivity.
- 30:05Speaker 6: I want to pick up the torch where Dolly left
- 30:07Speaker 6: off because, yes, I think I need to take a
- 30:10Speaker 6: bereavement day today for Dolly.
- 30:11Speaker 2: Everybody's so up about Dolly.
- 30:13Speaker 1: I know.
- 30:13Speaker 4: We appreciate you, though, you know, holding a candle to
- 30:16Speaker 4: her name and carrying that light with you.
- 30:18Speaker 5: Y'all have a great day.
- 30:20Speaker 2: Bye, love. You too. Bye, doll. Ricky, Zach, and Mano
- 30:23Speaker 2: in the morning.
- 30:24Speaker 1: On 107.5 The River.
- 30:25Speaker 3: It is time for the Daily Double Tap here on
- 30:27Speaker 3: The River. Every day about this time we play some
- 30:29Speaker 3: audio from a video. And the theme of our show today,
- 30:33Speaker 3: of course, has been Dolly Parton all day. We've been
- 30:36Speaker 3: talking about her, thinking about her, playing Dolly songs, just
- 30:38Speaker 3: reflecting on the incredible life that she lived.
- 30:41Speaker 4: Yeah, we're trying to celebrate her more than anything today.
- 30:44Speaker 4: So this is just a bunch of clips of her
- 30:47Speaker 4: best moments.
- 30:48Speaker 5: Obviously, she's got so many.
- 30:50Speaker 6: I love her so much.
- 30:51Speaker 4: We can't possibly fit all of them into like one segment,
- 30:55Speaker 4: but here's just some of them.
- 30:56Speaker 5: And that's today's Daily Double Tap on the River.
- 30:58Speaker 10: I always felt like I have everything to gain and
- 31:00Speaker 10: nothing to lose.
- 31:01Speaker 5: And all I had was myself.
- 31:03Speaker 10: I happened to believe that I had a God-given talent.
- 31:06Speaker 5: And I felt like it.
- 31:07Speaker 10: Was my responsibility to work that and do as much
- 31:09Speaker 10: with that as I could.
- 31:10Speaker 5: I don't try to tell other people what to do.
- 31:12Speaker 5: People are always saying, what kind of advice would you
- 31:14Speaker 5: give us? I don't give people advice.
- 31:16Speaker 10: I have information if you want to know some facts
- 31:19Speaker 10: and if you want to know, you know, sometimes how
- 31:21Speaker 10: I dealt with something. But I do believe that everybody
- 31:24Speaker 10: has a right to be themselves.
- 31:26Speaker 5: There's a lot to be said about being comfortable with
- 31:29Speaker 5: who you are.
- 31:29Speaker 10: Because I don't know how to be anybody else. I
- 31:32Speaker 10: don't want to be anybody else. I'm not responsible for
- 31:34Speaker 10: anybody else. But I'm responsible for me.
- 31:38Speaker 6: Amen, sister. Every time I ever heard her talk, it
- 31:41Speaker 6: was inspiring.
- 31:43Speaker 2: Enlightening.
- 31:44Speaker 5: So well said.
- 31:45Speaker 2: Funny. Yes.
- 31:46Speaker 5: A lot of it was so funny. Until the very end.
- 31:49Speaker 1: I know.
- 31:49Speaker 4: She was so clever and brilliant and positive and all
- 31:52Speaker 4: of the positive things, like happy things that we could
- 31:54Speaker 4: possibly say. So we celebrate Dolly today and every day.
- 31:59Speaker 2: Ricky, Zach, and Mano in the morning.
