- 0:47Speaker 2: It is time to leave your worries outside and live
- 0:50Speaker 2: with us inside the treehouse. I'm Daniel Malley along with
- 0:54Speaker 2: Terry Trendholm and Raj Sharma. Thank you for joining us today. Well,
- 1:01Speaker 2: since we're all attached inside the treehouse now in romantic relationships,
- 1:08Speaker 2: Me married for quite a while, Raj in a new
- 1:11Speaker 2: committed relationship, and Trey has started dating somebody new. They
- 1:15Speaker 2: are now in the fourth or fifth date stage, and
- 1:17Speaker 2: he's already made her dinner at home, so they're on
- 1:20Speaker 2: a very good path to commitment. Hood. So this story
- 1:25Speaker 2: doesn't immediately apply to us, but it is going to
- 1:28Speaker 2: be something interesting for everybody else that's living in Singletom.
- 1:33Speaker 2: All right, there's a new toxic dating trend, a new
- 1:39Speaker 2: toxic dating trend. Throning is the heartbreaking new dating trend
- 1:46Speaker 2: which I'm fascinated by because I grew up with it.
- 1:50Speaker 2: I grew up calling it a blumpkin. I don't necessarily
- 1:54Speaker 2: know it's a dating trend. It's more of a sex act.
- 1:57Speaker 2: But admittedly I did not read the entirety of the story.
- 2:00Speaker 2: I stopped at the headline that Tray hent so I
- 2:05Speaker 2: might be wrong about what throning actually is. You are,
- 2:14Speaker 2: well damn it. I was. I actually had high hopes.
- 2:20Speaker 3: But now everybody knows. You know what a blumpkin is?
- 2:24Speaker 2: Yeah, but that's it's It's like a lot of things
- 2:28Speaker 2: I've I've found out. It wasn't because I went looking.
- 2:31Speaker 2: It's because I was around a dirty old engineer, dirty
- 2:35Speaker 2: old radio engineer.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Yeah, wow, tell us about you.
- 2:39Speaker 4: You and Jay?
- 2:42Speaker 2: You know him too? I tell you knew his name
- 2:44Speaker 2: and you knew who I was talking about. One of
- 2:48Speaker 2: the finest engineers I've ever had the pleasure of working
- 2:51Speaker 2: with in my broadcasting career. And what a mouth that
- 2:55Speaker 2: came out wrong. He had a very colorful tongue. I'm
- 3:02Speaker 2: gonna read the story now. Throwning is a heartbreaking new
- 3:04Speaker 2: dating trend has social media ruined romance for gen Z.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Beware daters. Not everyone who says they're looking for their
- 3:12Speaker 2: king or queen has good intentions. By the way, someone
- 3:17Speaker 2: write this down as a topic for another day. But
- 3:19Speaker 2: we can't all be kings and queens. So you people
- 3:22Speaker 2: that use those terms need to stop it. You need
- 3:25Speaker 2: to be a little more judicious with throwing around king
- 3:27Speaker 2: and queen. We can't all be that same thing with
- 3:29Speaker 2: alpha male. We can't all be an alpha male because
- 3:32Speaker 2: that gets the whole definition of it. Anyway, the new
- 3:35Speaker 2: dating term called throning, which means dating someone to raise
- 3:38Speaker 2: your social status. Oh hmm, I like Jay Walker's version better.
- 3:47Speaker 4: That's certainly more entertaining.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Mm hmm, I think I think I think Jay's version
- 3:52Speaker 2: would lower your social status. Yeah, but you different kind
- 3:57Speaker 2: of lat dealer as hell on only fans, Yeah.
- 4:01Speaker 4: I mean.
- 4:04Speaker 1: We, I mean this was you were climbing the social ladder,
- 4:07Speaker 1: gold digging.
- 4:08Speaker 4: I mean, I don't know.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Why does gen Z have to put a name on
- 4:13Speaker 1: every bleep thing? I mean, I get I've thought about
- 4:18Speaker 1: it because as much as I want to say that
- 4:19Speaker 1: their whole language and the words and everything else is stupid.
- 4:24Speaker 4: We did it too, yeah, you know.
- 4:26Speaker 1: I from Valley Girl to all the crap fast Times
- 4:31Speaker 1: at Ridgemont High, all the things. Yeah, we had stupid
- 4:34Speaker 1: words too. I get that. But they label everything with.
- 4:39Speaker 3: A positive connotation. There's always positivity to it. Is it
- 4:46Speaker 3: rhyme sounds better than gold digging?
- 4:48Speaker 2: Yeah, Raj is right. Now, this doesn't apply to every
- 4:53Speaker 2: single new term that we all have to learn, but
- 4:57Speaker 2: typically they do have a little bit of a positive
- 4:59Speaker 2: slant to it, like quiet quitting, so it's done quietly demrror. Yeah,
- 5:06Speaker 2: they're just like, like you're a throwning here, which is
- 5:09Speaker 2: just gold digging or clout chasing. Those two have negative connotations,
- 5:14Speaker 2: but it's throwing. It's like, oh this is it's a
- 5:16Speaker 2: bad thing, but it's a positive sounding term.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Is it a positive Is it a positive connotation or
- 5:22Speaker 1: is it because they're so fucking passive aggressive that they
- 5:25Speaker 1: they don't want anything that might actually be.
- 5:31Speaker 4: Our imply conflict.
- 5:34Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I mean. That's why they have a
- 5:36Speaker 3: positive spin on everything, and so it's not taken to
- 5:39Speaker 3: that level of Yeah, like I mean, they have a term,
- 5:42Speaker 3: do you know what I'm not It was different in
- 5:43Speaker 3: our day. But do you know what barebacking is.
- 5:46Speaker 2: Yes, we've talked about it quite a bit.
- 5:48Speaker 3: Yeah that's right. Yeah, yeah, so I mean that's the
- 5:50Speaker 3: same thing like just going without a backpack.
- 5:53Speaker 2: Yeah, that's I.
- 5:54Speaker 3: Mean that sounds a lot nicer than what we used.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Different, right, same thing with raw dogging. Yeah, like like
- 6:01Speaker 2: and I used this the other day when I was
- 6:03Speaker 2: at my dentist. I was like, yeah, I had to
- 6:05Speaker 2: tell her. It's like you actually you realize you raw
- 6:07Speaker 2: dog that injection. Again, I'm really just full of these
- 6:11Speaker 2: really horrible things I could be saying. When you get
- 6:13Speaker 2: an injection to number your mouth, you're supposed to get
- 6:15Speaker 2: like the little topical jelly, so the needle doesn't hurt
- 6:17Speaker 2: so bad, and when it goes into your gum and
- 6:19Speaker 2: into your face that they forgot to do that, so
- 6:22Speaker 2: they just raw dog the injection. So I got to
- 6:25Speaker 2: use that term in a proper context. But yeah, so
- 6:28Speaker 2: the term might have a more positive sound to it,
- 6:33Speaker 2: but the definition is still typically a negative thing, like
- 6:36Speaker 2: the throning. It's bad to date just to raise your
- 6:40Speaker 2: social status. But at least a term doesn't sound so
- 6:44Speaker 2: so much like an attack m.
- 6:48Speaker 3: But I mean people have done this since the beginning
- 6:50Speaker 3: of time, like dated people with a higher social stature
- 6:52Speaker 3: than yourself. Yeah, I mean that's that's I think fairly
- 6:55Speaker 3: common it is.
- 6:57Speaker 2: But saying it's like a lot of these things that
- 7:00Speaker 2: get these brand new terms, they're not new things, they're
- 7:04Speaker 2: not new scenarios, they're not new examples, they're just given
- 7:07Speaker 2: new names.
- 7:08Speaker 1: Well, gen Z thinks they are discovering all this for
- 7:11Speaker 1: the first fucking time, and so they have to put
- 7:14Speaker 1: a name for it.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like they're running around with a brother pea
- 7:17Speaker 2: chutch and they got to label everything that they think
- 7:19Speaker 2: they've discovered. Meanwhile, these things have been around forever.
- 7:24Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Have you have you guys had the
- 7:28Speaker 3: luxury of talking to somebody that's gen Z.
- 7:32Speaker 2: I have tenants that are gen Z.
- 7:35Speaker 1: I had employees that were gen Z. I work with
- 7:38Speaker 1: gen Z. Yeah, every every day.
- 7:40Speaker 2: That's why that's why Trey's a little more amped up
- 7:43Speaker 2: about this than we are. I mean, I think it
- 7:45Speaker 2: just depends on I think it depends on the representative
- 7:47Speaker 2: of gen Z that you get.
- 7:49Speaker 3: I think Trey one more miracle away from sainthood. If
- 7:52Speaker 3: you had, if you if you had to have them
- 7:56Speaker 3: as employees, and you didn't murder.
- 7:58Speaker 4: Almost all of them. Everyone at Parliament it's gen Z
- 8:01Speaker 4: like that.
- 8:01Speaker 3: So yeah, yeah, I can't.
- 8:05Speaker 4: I can't do it.
- 8:06Speaker 2: I can't.
- 8:07Speaker 3: I can't talk to them. It's just there's just so
- 8:09Speaker 3: much stupid happening.
- 8:11Speaker 2: I can't do it. It is interesting, though, because like the
- 8:13Speaker 2: whole new uh the new viral trend sensation thing that's
- 8:18Speaker 2: a cultural whatever to not just gen Z, but more
- 8:23Speaker 2: like Jen Alpha, the whole six seven trend is something
- 8:27Speaker 2: that I think the three of us would have difficulty
- 8:29Speaker 2: wrapping our brains around. I've tried for like five minutes,
- 8:32Speaker 2: and I said, you know, I don't need to know
- 8:34Speaker 2: anymore about what I already know. It's basically a nothing thing,
- 8:38Speaker 2: and that's what's made it so popular. I saw a
- 8:40Speaker 2: video this morning of a bunch of kids at an
- 8:43Speaker 2: in and out Like I'm talking like that. You just
- 8:49Speaker 2: saw that, Yeah, it's on Instagram. Instagram showed me a
- 8:54Speaker 2: real that said, I bet you're gonna be interested in this.
- 8:56Speaker 2: It was an in and out full of Gen Alpha
- 9:00Speaker 2: kids waiting for that special order to be announced, and
- 9:05Speaker 2: when demand in the little paper had it in and
- 9:07Speaker 2: out says order sixty seven. The whole crowd in the
- 9:10Speaker 2: restaurant just goes ballistic and they love it. And at
- 9:13Speaker 2: first I was pretty, you know, cantankerous about it, being
- 9:17Speaker 2: old crotchy, the old man, old gen X guy, like
- 9:19Speaker 2: this is just stupid. And I was like, you know what,
- 9:23Speaker 2: We're in a really rough time or rough period in
- 9:26Speaker 2: our country. If this is something so stupid and it
- 9:29Speaker 2: brings them joy, who am I to judge, especially when
- 9:32Speaker 2: that's the basis of our show here. So I applaud it.
- 9:35Speaker 2: And then I also recognized that while this video had
- 9:38Speaker 2: a bunch of kids going crazy and happy just because
- 9:40Speaker 2: the in and out order said sixty seven, we also
- 9:43Speaker 2: had the DVD video hitting the corner boxes on the screens,
- 9:48Speaker 2: so I can't really fault them too much.
- 9:53Speaker 3: I don't know what the DVD thing is.
- 9:56Speaker 2: Seriously, yeah, okay, I feel so lost here. So you
- 10:02Speaker 2: don't remember the DVD video icon when it would go
- 10:06Speaker 2: to like a screen saver and it would just float
- 10:09Speaker 2: around the screen kind of like Pong would do. Okay,
- 10:13Speaker 2: I am so, did you guys ever watch The Office?
- 10:17Speaker 1: Not?
- 10:18Speaker 4: Really?
- 10:18Speaker 3: No?
- 10:19Speaker 2: Okay, well if you did, you probably I've never felt
- 10:23Speaker 2: so alone on this show. I can't believe you guys
- 10:25Speaker 2: don't aren't aware of that.
- 10:26Speaker 3: You you would just you would just follow the icon
- 10:29Speaker 3: for the DVD. Yeah, and watch it and see if
- 10:34Speaker 3: it hit all the corners.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Did you point your big pencil at it and and
- 10:37Speaker 1: like follow it around?
- 10:39Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, you can't. You can't look at
- 10:40Speaker 2: it too closely because then it knows you're watching it.
- 10:42Speaker 2: You have to let it happen as organically as possible.
- 10:46Speaker 2: So you would just watch it and then wait to
- 10:48Speaker 2: see if the icon perfectly in the corner. If it does,
- 10:55Speaker 2: it's a it's a special special day.
- 10:59Speaker 3: Was this? Was this right before night meds? Is this
- 11:06Speaker 3: right before they gave you the good stuff to go
- 11:07Speaker 3: to sleep?
- 11:08Speaker 2: And I guarantee you you two guys are in the
- 11:10Speaker 2: minority on this. You might you might be in the
- 11:13Speaker 2: majority inside the treehouse right now, but I guarantee you
- 11:15Speaker 2: more people know what I'm talking about outside of this
- 11:18Speaker 2: recording session than you you.
- 11:22Speaker 1: So, it had a screensaver that had the logo and
- 11:26Speaker 1: it bounced around. You watched it to see if it
- 11:29Speaker 1: hit the corner perfectly.
- 11:31Speaker 2: Yeah, it was before social media. Man. You know, little
- 11:34Speaker 2: things you find different ways to kill time.
- 11:37Speaker 3: Did you end up actually watching the DVD that was
- 11:39Speaker 3: in the DVD player or were we just no?
- 11:41Speaker 2: There was too much excitement. After it hit the corner,
- 11:44Speaker 2: you had to go party. You're like, whoa you hit?
- 11:47Speaker 2: You guys just don't know joy.
- 11:50Speaker 3: No, I'm pretty sure I do.
- 11:53Speaker 2: If you've never seen if you've never watched the DVD
- 11:56Speaker 2: video icon bounce around the screen and hit the corner,
- 12:00Speaker 2: then then you haven't experienced something that is just pure.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Joy, like maybe watching the DVD itself and hopefully it
- 12:09Speaker 1: was a good movie.
- 12:11Speaker 3: Huh, That's what I would go with. But you you
- 12:13Speaker 3: were so fascinated by the loads screen.
- 12:18Speaker 2: You can do both and I did.
- 12:21Speaker 1: God, the fish must have absolutely made me mogasmic.
- 12:25Speaker 3: Yeah, and you can have the aquarium. How about how
- 12:28Speaker 3: about the fake fire? Do you do you lose your
- 12:32Speaker 3: ship on that? Oh? It looks like a fire, but
- 12:35Speaker 3: it's not one.
- 12:40Speaker 2: I love the Roku screen Saver, The Little City, the
- 12:46Speaker 2: whole the Roku City. Absolutely. I watched that for an hour.
- 12:48Speaker 2: It's my favorite show. It's interactive though, because you get
- 12:52Speaker 2: to try to guess, Okay, what are all the movies
- 12:54Speaker 2: and things that are embedded on the Roku screen saver,
- 13:00Speaker 2: obviously just operating at a different level than you do.
- 13:03Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I think the third grade or a
- 13:05Speaker 3: fourth grade, but you're reading it at six.
- 13:11Speaker 4: Now.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Now, now we know what Tara does when she has
- 13:14Speaker 1: to run errands.
- 13:16Speaker 2: She plops me in front of the rope's screensaber and
- 13:20Speaker 2: I'm good.
- 13:24Speaker 5: You're threehouse on air dot.
- 13:29Speaker 2: Com eight three three cook d f W. That's one
- 13:35Speaker 2: of my favorite phone numbers. That's the one I called
- 13:37Speaker 2: to pester Daniel and Carrie Cook whenever I feel like it,
- 13:40Speaker 2: and you can do that as well. They absolutely love it,
- 13:43Speaker 2: especially if you didn't get the last If you didn't
- 13:45Speaker 2: get last night's lotto numbers, they'll tell you that too.
- 13:47Speaker 2: Eight three three cook DFW. They prefer to come out
- 13:51Speaker 2: and check your roof, check your property to see if
- 13:53Speaker 2: there's anything in need, and they'll be honest with you
- 13:56Speaker 2: about it. Eight three three cook d f W. Daniel,
- 14:00Speaker 2: do you play the lottery?
- 14:02Speaker 4: Honestly?
- 14:02Speaker 6: Not really, No, very rarely buy a ticket here and
- 14:06Speaker 6: there when they get really big pots, but no, we're
- 14:08Speaker 6: not a very big gambling family in general at all.
- 14:11Speaker 2: You just love climbing on roofs and helping people.
- 14:14Speaker 4: That's it.
- 14:15Speaker 6: I mean, and you wake up every morning you go
- 14:16Speaker 6: where can I go climb today?
- 14:21Speaker 2: For free?
- 14:23Speaker 6: I wonder how good of a rock climber I would be.
- 14:25Speaker 4: I've never done that.
- 14:26Speaker 2: You go find out and make sure Carrie's recording it.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Perhaps live streaming it would even be better in case
- 14:31Speaker 2: you fall. And I would start with one of those
- 14:34Speaker 2: I think they call it bouldering. It's where instead of
- 14:36Speaker 2: starting with a mountain, you just start with a really
- 14:38Speaker 2: big rock and see if you can climb that. If
- 14:41Speaker 2: you can climb that, then you can graduate to bigger
- 14:44Speaker 2: and bigger rocks.
- 14:45Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:45Speaker 6: I'm pretty confident in that though. I think that would
- 14:47Speaker 6: be kind of fun. At first, before going outside, I
- 14:51Speaker 6: was thinking about finding those rock walls or those wall
- 14:54Speaker 6: climbing things.
- 14:55Speaker 2: Yeah. I think that's a great idea. I bet you're
- 14:58Speaker 2: part monkey. Well, now we got confirmation. Get this man
- 15:05Speaker 2: on your roof where he feels like he's in his
- 15:09Speaker 2: natural Habitat eight three three cook DFW or the website

- 15:27Speaker 2: This segment of the Treehouse is brought to you by

- 15:32Speaker 2: the North Texas area, give Daniel and Kerry Cook a
- 15:35Speaker 2: call today eight three three Cook DFW. Catch a small
- 15:39Speaker 2: problem before it turns into a major one. Eight three
- 15:42Speaker 2: three Cook DFW or the website cookdfw dot com. I'm
- 15:49Speaker 2: going to try to move on mentally and emotionally from
- 15:51Speaker 2: the fact that you guys say you do not know
- 15:54Speaker 2: and have never heard of or experienced the DVD icon
- 15:58Speaker 2: floating around the screen landing in the corners on to
- 16:03Speaker 2: some other thing. What is it?
- 16:04Speaker 1: Tre We know what it is, we just didn't ever
- 16:08Speaker 1: waste any time watching it.
- 16:14Speaker 2: You never you know what this is. Maybe this is
- 16:17Speaker 2: an age gap issue because I think maybe you guys
- 16:21Speaker 2: had graduated high school before you ever watched any movies
- 16:24Speaker 2: or anything on DVD. I think I had it like
- 16:30Speaker 2: junior senior year of high school. They wheel in the
- 16:32Speaker 2: TV and someone finally had a DVD player in the grand.
- 16:34Speaker 2: This is like ninety seven, So yeah, DVDs were a
- 16:39Speaker 2: thing then, just not that common. So that rolled in
- 16:42Speaker 2: and then it would go to a screen saver while
- 16:44Speaker 2: it was loading or waiting in the corner for the
- 16:46Speaker 2: teacher to use it, and the class would be watching it.
- 16:49Speaker 2: So as the teachers doing a lecture, we're watching this
- 16:51Speaker 2: TV screen in the corner, and it's the DVD video
- 16:56Speaker 2: logo bouncing around the corners and it would hit the corners.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Be like, yess and what do you people doing?
- 17:03Speaker 1: What else did you do in the special class?
- 17:05Speaker 3: Yes? And by lecture do you mean like tracing letters
- 17:08Speaker 3: and shouting out colors?
- 17:10Speaker 2: All right? First of all, you both hard sideways. That
- 17:18Speaker 2: was an AP class.
- 17:20Speaker 3: Oh I'm sure they told you.
- 17:25Speaker 2: It was advanced placement.
- 17:29Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Anyways, I can't make you guys understand this. So again,
- 17:38Speaker 2: maybe you guys had already left before the DVD video
- 17:41Speaker 2: thing would happen in school, so you never had a
- 17:43Speaker 2: chance to see it. That's where I first experienced it.
- 17:45Speaker 2: So then later on anyway, I.
- 17:50Speaker 3: Had a DVD player in my house. I mean, I
- 17:55Speaker 3: know what I know. The thing is, I just never
- 17:58Speaker 3: actually paid that much attention to where I was. I
- 18:01Speaker 3: found joy and excitement in the icon hitting the corners.
- 18:06Speaker 1: Usually if if the DVD icon was up, like I
- 18:09Speaker 1: had hit pause and then yeah, so when I came back,
- 18:12Speaker 1: you hit play and you're because you watch something, not
- 18:15Speaker 1: just the screensaver.
- 18:17Speaker 3: And you're sure was the EP class? Like what do
- 18:19Speaker 3: you mean like academic probation? Is that what you were on?
- 18:24Speaker 4: No?
- 18:25Speaker 2: No, I mean, well, my memory is not the best.
- 18:31Speaker 2: In my mind, it was advanced blazement. I'm pretty sure
- 18:34Speaker 2: that's what it said on the report cards and things,
- 18:36Speaker 2: although that for in that time period, I did have
- 18:38Speaker 2: a tendency to change some of those report cards.
- 18:41Speaker 3: Uh.
- 18:41Speaker 2: Anyways, Uh, let's talk about Trey and his girlfriend. Yeah, Actually,
- 18:47Speaker 2: what I mean to say is, let's check in on
- 18:49Speaker 2: Trey's fast. Oh, yes, Trey, did you get the cookies?
- 18:57Speaker 3: Yes, But.
- 19:01Speaker 1: It's funny you brought up the girlfriend and then so
- 19:03Speaker 1: because I did not start the fast, Uh, I was
- 19:07Speaker 1: asked to wait because she was like, you know what,
- 19:13Speaker 1: I'm leaving town next weekend. Why don't you do it?
- 19:16Speaker 4: Then?
- 19:17Speaker 2: Oh, she's smart. I like her.
- 19:20Speaker 1: So and I really didn't have much of a you know,
- 19:24Speaker 1: because she put it nicely. She didn't say I don't
- 19:26Speaker 1: want to dee to grumpy ass. She just said, you
- 19:28Speaker 1: know that way, you know, we can still have dinner
- 19:31Speaker 1: and stuff because she goes, I won't eat if you're
- 19:33Speaker 1: not going to eat, which.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Oh that is very nice. I like how she's she's
- 19:39Speaker 2: wanting to respect your journey and she wants it to
- 19:42Speaker 2: be your journey.
- 19:45Speaker 4: Yeah, your journey. Well she's in San Diego.
- 19:49Speaker 2: Yeah, well two time zones away. Yeah that's smart.
- 19:54Speaker 4: So I will be starting at the end of this week.
- 19:58Speaker 2: Okay.
- 20:02Speaker 3: I still love the idea of that, just just the
- 20:05Speaker 3: white dude fasting.
- 20:10Speaker 2: To be healthy.
- 20:11Speaker 3: People in India are like, so you're not eating on purpose, okay,
- 20:17Speaker 3: but you have food, Like there's things in your refrigerator
- 20:22Speaker 3: and there's you have bread, but you're not eating it.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Okay, all right, So what day are you going to
- 20:32Speaker 2: start the fast? So so Raj and I's bet can
- 20:35Speaker 2: take place.
- 20:36Speaker 4: Mhmm, Thursday or Friday. Okay, I'll let you know.
- 20:43Speaker 2: Yeah, let us know. So that way, Raj and I
- 20:46Speaker 2: can carry on our bet on whether or not we
- 20:49Speaker 2: think you can hold on to your fast. Raj doesn't
- 20:54Speaker 2: think you can. I know you've got it in you.
- 20:57Speaker 2: So you're going you won't have any food.
- 20:58Speaker 3: In you and do it on how mean?
- 21:01Speaker 4: Yeah? Okay?
- 21:04Speaker 2: Interesting, Trey's never been a big Halloween guy.
- 21:08Speaker 3: But there's candy.
- 21:11Speaker 1: I I actually uh, I mean I we have candy
- 21:17Speaker 1: at work and everything else. I just I can't eat candy.
- 21:20Speaker 1: If you're one an example of my addictive behavior, it
- 21:25Speaker 1: is chocolate candy sweets. If I have one, I will
- 21:29Speaker 1: have all of them. So I just simply do not partake.
- 21:34Speaker 2: That's the same reason why I don't keep cereal in
- 21:36Speaker 2: the house, because one bull turns into a whole box.
- 21:42Speaker 3: This is so fascinating you guys, did you Are you
- 21:46Speaker 3: guys sure you didn't go to the same school. You're
- 21:50Speaker 3: talking like you did.
- 21:54Speaker 2: No, very very different.
- 21:57Speaker 3: I watched I watched the Icon. I can't f candy.
- 22:00Speaker 3: I can't see what the fuck is happening in this room.
- 22:07Speaker 2: We're on interesting journeys rides lay off. All right, it
- 22:13Speaker 2: is It is actually Tuesday, so it is time again.

- 22:26Speaker 7: I've got an idea for a crossover, and I'm apologize.
- 22:29Speaker 7: I'm catching up on episodes. Hear me out, all.
- 22:35Speaker 2: Right, he's talking about the TV crossovers we were talking about,
- 22:39Speaker 2: like the Love Boat crossing over with the A team
- 22:42Speaker 2: talked about give me a Break, crossing over with mister Belvedere.
- 22:48Speaker 2: So now he's got one.
- 22:49Speaker 7: Here, different strokes and awesome powers and have Gary Coleman
- 22:54Speaker 7: as many me.
- 22:58Speaker 2: It's still Michael Myers for Mike Myers.
- 23:02Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I was about to say. That would
- 23:05Speaker 3: make it really racist.
- 23:06Speaker 1: Yeah, he thought that deal with Kanye was awkward.
- 23:15Speaker 2: What are you calling him? I can't say it out loud.
- 23:22Speaker 3: I'm not allowed to use that word.
- 23:27Speaker 2: Even in a small farm.
- 23:30Speaker 3: Has any okay, since he brought that up and it
- 23:32Speaker 3: just popped into my head, has anybody checked on Emmanuel
- 23:35Speaker 3: Lewis like the kid that played Webster. He just kind
- 23:39Speaker 3: of disappeared like a fart in the wind, like he
- 23:41Speaker 3: just was hot one minute and at the Grammys with
- 23:44Speaker 3: Michael Jackson one minute and then gone.
- 23:49Speaker 2: Yeah, do we know that Mike? Do we know Michael
- 23:51Speaker 2: Jackson didn't like take him to the grave.
- 23:55Speaker 4: He's dead? No, I believe he's a lie.
- 23:58Speaker 1: I googled a while back, and he looks like he
- 24:02Speaker 1: ate Webster.
- 24:06Speaker 2: Well, at least you know he's not going hungry.
- 24:09Speaker 3: He's not on a three day fast. He should be.

- 25:25Speaker 2: he's like unzipping.
- 25:29Speaker 3: That's what that's where that's where your mind went down.
- 25:34Speaker 8: That's what it sounds. But what do you think it
- 25:36Speaker 8: sounds like static? No, you think he was unzipping to
- 25:45Speaker 8: tell us about it?
- 25:46Speaker 3: This new He really likes this topic.
- 25:51Speaker 2: We can't see him, so I don't know you know

- 26:06Speaker 3: Oh okay, I was It just sounded like I had
- 26:11Speaker 3: a different connotation to what you were lying.
- 26:14Speaker 2: I'm not implying he was doing anything. I'm just saying
- 26:16Speaker 2: it sounds like he was unzipping.
- 26:18Speaker 3: That's it.
- 26:20Speaker 1: Interesting. Your ears are that highly trained for that sound.
- 26:23Speaker 3: I know Andrew eyes so skilled to watch the icon bounce. Yeah,
- 26:32Speaker 3: oh you.
- 26:32Speaker 4: Know, I got it. Both happened at the same time.

- 27:52Speaker 2: Forward from him there. Okay, damn it, Tree, I can't
- 27:55Speaker 2: believe you don't remember you calling me Cookie.
- 28:01Speaker 6: You said was sounded like somebody on the chuck wagon.
- 28:05Speaker 2: But anyway that this is the second message he left,
- 28:09Speaker 2: so you Treyer apparently the one that gave him the
- 28:11Speaker 2: nickname Cookie, because he just sounded like he was the
- 28:14Speaker 2: cook on a chuck wagon. Do you remember that?
- 28:17Speaker 1: I do remember that because he sounds like the guy
- 28:20Speaker 1: that was the drunk cook on City Slickers.
- 28:24Speaker 5: Yes.
- 28:28Speaker 2: By the way, that's a movie that deserves a rewatch
- 28:32Speaker 2: City Slickers. I have not seen that in so long,
- 28:34Speaker 2: and it has one of my favorite pickup lines in
- 28:38Speaker 2: the history of pickup lines. Do you guys remember it
- 28:40Speaker 2: from the movie?
- 28:43Speaker 4: I do not.
- 28:45Speaker 2: I like your ass? Can I wear it as a hat?
- 28:52Speaker 2: I think it was? Is it? Bruno Kirby so it's
- 28:54Speaker 2: of the three friends that go on the trail. You
- 28:58Speaker 2: got Billy Crystal, Daniel Stern, you know, from Home Alone
- 29:02Speaker 2: and tons of other movies. Uh. And then I believe
- 29:04Speaker 2: it was Bruno Kirby as the third friend who's the
- 29:06Speaker 2: wise ass guy, and he's the one that says like
- 29:09Speaker 2: he's trying to tell him, like, look, you're attracted to her,
- 29:11Speaker 2: Go go tell her? You know, you gotta you have
- 29:13Speaker 2: to have a good Line's like, what's your line? Well?
- 29:15Speaker 2: I like your ass? Can I wear it as a hat?
- 29:19Speaker 2: And then and then Helen Hunt bounces or not Helen
- 29:22Speaker 2: Hunt Helen Slater. I think it is bounces away on
- 29:26Speaker 2: horseback because Daniel Stern was in tour. Okay, sorry, that
- 29:34Speaker 2: line just really stayed.
- 29:36Speaker 3: With stayed with you. Have you ever have you ever
- 29:40Speaker 3: used it?
- 29:41Speaker 2: Not directly, it's more like like if you just ask
- 29:45Speaker 2: someone it's like, hey, do you have a favorite pickup line?
- 29:47Speaker 2: And they give you one. You know, it's like, oh,
- 29:48Speaker 2: are you an angel? Grocery fell from Heaven? Like, oh
- 29:50Speaker 2: that's sweet? What's yours? I like your ass? Can I
- 29:52Speaker 2: wear it as a hat?
- 29:53Speaker 3: They?
- 29:53Speaker 2: I imagine that would work pretty good.
- 29:56Speaker 3: Yeah, my buddy, Uh, Howard had a line he said, uh,
- 30:02Speaker 3: do you want to have sex and get a pizza?
- 30:04Speaker 3: Who knows?
- 30:05Speaker 8: Like?
- 30:05Speaker 3: What do you don't like pizza?
- 30:10Speaker 2: I still like the one that the guy at the
- 30:12Speaker 2: bar that would pop his glass eye out. Mm hmmm
- 30:15Speaker 2: that you told me about my buddy Dave's uncle. Remind
- 30:20Speaker 2: us what he did.
- 30:22Speaker 3: I don't know what he I know he lost it
- 30:23Speaker 3: in a bar fight. He took a pool queue to
- 30:25Speaker 3: the face, and that that's when the glasses were made
- 30:28Speaker 3: with actual glass, like and he took a pool cute
- 30:34Speaker 3: and it shattered the glass and then that glass one
- 30:38Speaker 3: in his eye and yep, so he would just take
- 30:41Speaker 3: his eye out.
- 30:43Speaker 2: And leave it on the bar, but didn't. Didn't he
- 30:47Speaker 2: also use it as a pick up prop.
- 30:50Speaker 3: M he did. I don't remember the exact line. It's
- 30:54Speaker 3: been years. I remember the exact line. But he would
- 30:57Speaker 3: That's what he would test to see how cool the
- 31:00Speaker 3: chick was.
- 31:02Speaker 2: He was trady, do you feel like a dental assistant
- 31:05Speaker 2: to my dentist trying to pull this out of r
- 31:08Speaker 2: because somehow I managed to remember this story better than
- 31:10Speaker 2: he does. Take his glass eye out and then he
- 31:13Speaker 2: would tell put it on the bar and tell tell
- 31:15Speaker 2: a chick, I've got my eye on you.
- 31:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 31:18Speaker 3: Yeah, under I thought we understood that one. But no,
- 31:21Speaker 3: I thought you were asking how he lost his eye.
- 31:23Speaker 2: No, no, although now I'm going to be blinking furiously
- 31:26Speaker 2: for the rest of the day. Back to talk, back.
- 31:33Speaker 7: When you were a kid and you were riding a bike,
- 31:37Speaker 7: I had the.
- 31:38Speaker 6: Option of ever riding learning to ride the bike.
- 31:43Speaker 7: Even in a gravel driveway.
- 31:51Speaker 4: M yes, and that's it.
- 31:57Speaker 3: I think you're asleep right about there.
- 31:59Speaker 2: No. Oh, I think if you listen here, if you listen,
- 32:01Speaker 2: you can hear him kind of grown after he after
- 32:04Speaker 2: he trails off.
- 32:07Speaker 3: Right there.
- 32:10Speaker 2: I think what happened was him learning to ride a
- 32:12Speaker 2: bike on that gravel driveway was so traumatic he went
- 32:16Speaker 2: back to it mentally and then he couldn't recover it
- 32:19Speaker 2: and he just just bottomed out right there during the message.
- 32:25Speaker 3: Yeah, that's uh. That seems like there was a lot
- 32:30Speaker 3: of drinking happening prior to that message.
- 32:35Speaker 1: I feel like he wakes up, you know, two hours
- 32:37Speaker 1: from now, and finishes the story.
- 32:44Speaker 2: But thinks it's right in the middle of it and
- 32:48Speaker 2: we're not judging. We've all done it. Yeah, there's a
- 32:51Speaker 2: reason why Trey is nine years sober. You don't. You
- 32:57Speaker 2: don't get nine years of chips in sobriety without having
- 33:01Speaker 2: left at least one or two messages hours long that
- 33:05Speaker 2: you woke up in the middle of thinking it had
- 33:07Speaker 2: only been a second or two.
- 33:10Speaker 1: Yeah, he probably just thinks we're assholes that we edit
- 33:12Speaker 1: out the rest of his message.
- 33:15Speaker 2: I listened to the end. It went all the way
- 33:17Speaker 2: to the two minute match. There was nothing else there,
- 33:19Speaker 2: so I'm not sure what happened on his end. That's
- 33:20Speaker 2: why I said, maybe there was just so much pain
- 33:22Speaker 2: there from him learning to ride a bicycle, so much trauma,
- 33:26Speaker 2: that it just he just couldn't quite finish the story.
- 33:29Speaker 3: And I get it.
- 33:30Speaker 2: I mean when I learned. I've told you guys this
- 33:32Speaker 2: one because we grew up. I grew up until the
- 33:35Speaker 2: age of nine living in the country, and we had
- 33:38Speaker 2: a paved driveway that was only like twenty feet, like
- 33:41Speaker 2: twenty by twenty right outside the garage. The rest of
- 33:44Speaker 2: the road was hard limestone gravel, and that was what
- 33:47Speaker 2: I learned to ride a bike on. Because you can't
- 33:50Speaker 2: get up, you can't really ride learn to ride a
- 33:52Speaker 2: bike on a twenty foot slab, You need a little
- 33:55Speaker 2: more runway. So I get it. It's not easy. It
- 33:59Speaker 2: does give you good incentive to not fall down.
- 34:03Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 34:05Speaker 2: I also don't know what his alternative was, because that's
- 34:09Speaker 2: that's bad enough.
- 34:10Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, concrete wasn't a lot better.
- 34:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 34:16Speaker 1: I distinctly remember learning how to ride a bike because
- 34:20Speaker 1: I got on it and my dad pushed it and
- 34:22Speaker 1: was like stay up.
- 34:28Speaker 2: I love how so much of our childhoods and being
- 34:32Speaker 2: taught things or learning things was basically as a means
- 34:36Speaker 2: to not die. Yeah, learn how to ride a bike.
- 34:39Speaker 2: He just shoves you. It's like, well, if you don't
- 34:42Speaker 2: want to get hurt, don't fall down. How'd you learn
- 34:44Speaker 2: to swim? He probably threw you in the water.
- 34:47Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, that's I mean.
- 34:49Speaker 1: And I think his is the reinforcement for on the
- 34:51Speaker 1: bike for staying up was when I fell and I'd
- 34:53Speaker 1: skin my knee, He'd put my violate on it and
- 34:55Speaker 1: it stung like hell, and you're like, Okay, I don't
- 34:57Speaker 1: want to do that again, so I'll stay up.
- 35:00Speaker 2: The bad thing is it's just for someone driving by
- 35:03Speaker 2: in that moment would have been a sight to behold
- 35:07Speaker 2: Trey falling down on a bike trying to get back
- 35:10Speaker 2: on the bike and pedal away from his methyoline carrying
- 35:13Speaker 2: father chasing him down the grove.
- 35:19Speaker 1: No, that really, my dad chasing after me was not
- 35:25Speaker 1: an odd site.
- 35:26Speaker 4: That was fairly fairly common. There is, actually there is.
- 35:31Speaker 1: I don't know if any of them are still alive,
- 35:33Speaker 1: but there used to be some old men and Leonard
- 35:35Speaker 1: that ran the service station that four years, I mean
- 35:39Speaker 1: decades laughed at the story about my dad got mad
- 35:42Speaker 1: at me. I was in high school and he was
- 35:45Speaker 1: trying to whip my ass and so we were literally
- 35:47Speaker 1: comedically running around a blazer, you know, like in circles.
- 35:53Speaker 3: Uh huh oh wow.
- 35:56Speaker 1: It was at that point I was faster than my dad,
- 35:57Speaker 1: so I knew, you know, it was get over here,
- 36:01Speaker 1: it's gonna be worse, and like, I'll take my chances.
- 36:05Speaker 2: Yeah, you got to catch me.
- 36:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 36:08Speaker 1: That was, Yes, my greatest when I when I learned
- 36:11Speaker 1: I could run and jump over a fence and get
- 36:13Speaker 1: away from my dad.
- 36:14Speaker 4: That was.
- 36:17Speaker 2: That's also when the high school football coaches really started
- 36:19Speaker 2: taking notice. Hey, trade make a good running back.
- 36:24Speaker 3: This is part of your Forrest Gump story.
- 36:26Speaker 4: Yeah, that's exactly Look at that boy, go.
- 36:35Speaker 2: See we laugh about our childhood drama. Poor Cookies somewhere
- 36:37Speaker 2: in the corner, still bawling his eyes out, I'm learning
- 36:40Speaker 2: his bike. For all things Treehouse, Treehouse on there dot com.
