- 0:18Welcome to this Instagram live on Thursday.
- 0:22I'm going to give everybody just a couple minutes to start coming
- 0:26on, but I wanted to really take this opportunity.
- 0:32I know you guys have like seen my post on social media, but I
- 0:35want to take this opportunity to answer any questions that you
- 0:39guys might have or common questions that you guys might
- 0:41have about flight. I do have AQ and a button.
- 0:44I just want to let you guys know that there is AQ and a like pin
- 0:48on my Instagram where I answer common questions.
- 0:51I also have a podcast episode where I answer common questions,
- 0:54but I wanted to give you guys an opportunity to come on and ask
- 0:57me anything. So go ahead and put your
- 1:00questions in the comment box or it's also actually easier for me
- 1:05if you put your questions in the question mark down below.
- 1:09One thing that I wanted to share with you guys is and just
- 1:13briefly talk about the three simple steps on how to get into
- 1:18flight nursing. And I have a current replay up
- 1:21right now of my webinar that I did the free training that I did
- 1:24on Monday. You can just click on my link on
- 1:26my bio to watch that. That's going to be available to
- 1:28watch and till tomorrow at midnight.
- 1:31But I wanted to focus on one part of this training.
- 1:34So in this training, I basically talk to you about these are the
- 1:38three things that I see people spending a lot of time trying to
- 1:42get to flight, but it's actually having them take longer to get
- 1:45there, having them feel altogether.
- 1:47One of these three things is focusing on time and experience.
- 1:50I just see so many people chasing time and experience
- 1:54chasing level 1 traumas level, I mean level 1 hospital, working
- 2:01ER and then working ICU and I just really, really believe in
- 2:07it. Cut off for a second.
- 2:08I really am a huge believer to stay in one department either ER
- 2:13or ICU. It does not be need to be a
- 2:16level 1. It can be a rural bed ERICU all
- 2:19the way to a level 1 and really grow your leadership qualities
- 2:23in it. The other thing that I see
- 2:25common mistake I see people make is they are trying to get a ton
- 2:28of certification. Now when I was trying to get to
- 2:31flight, like Oh my gosh, how many years has it been?
- 2:33It's been over a decade. They did require the CEN and
- 2:37CCRN, but they have moved completely away from requiring
- 2:40any certification. So you no longer need a
- 2:42certification. The third thing that I see
- 2:45people really spending time focusing on that are having them
- 2:47fail or taking them longer to get there is trauma courses and
- 2:52most like companies do not even require a trauma course.
- 2:55I just always say whatever your department is offering for free,
- 2:59whether it's TNCC or ATCN, do that one if you want to get one
- 3:04but don't spend extra money and time on these things.
- 3:08I see it taking people longer to get to flight because they're
- 3:12jumping around from department to department, They're spending
- 3:16time and money on more certifications, and they're
- 3:20spending more time on money on trauma courses.
- 3:22And the only requirement to get into flight nursing or flight
- 3:26paramedicine is 3 years critical care.
- 3:29So it's either three years as a medic or three years as an ICU
- 3:34or ER nurse or any kind of specialty.
- 3:36It doesn't matter what kind of specialty as long as it's
- 3:38critical care. Now, I highly, highly recommend
- 3:42staying in one unit because you want to be growing your
- 3:45leadership qualities. Flight companies, because three
- 3:48years is the only thing that they require.
- 3:50They're really looking at who you are, what you value, and the
- 3:54team player you are. They don't necessarily want
- 3:56everybody who knows everything in every department.
- 4:00And I just see people take longer to get there because
- 4:02they're chasing all the certifications, they're chasing
- 4:05the trauma certs, they're chasing all of the experience,
- 4:09and they're just trying to outrun the thought that I don't
- 4:11know enough or I don't have enough time and experience.
- 4:14The other thing that I really, really want to offer you is the
- 4:19biggest mistake I see people make is them telling me they're
- 4:22going to wait till they get to the three years.
- 4:23And you don't want to do that. If you know you want flight, you
- 4:28want to start working towards it as soon as you know you want it.
- 4:32Now, there's a reason why not everybody at the three-year mark
- 4:36of working ER or ICU has gotten hired into flight.
- 4:40And it's because they really, really want you to focus on
- 4:44growing your leadership qualities and your teamwork in
- 4:47the department that you're working in.
- 4:48So because of that, these are the three things that are going
- 4:51to give you a leg up into getting there.
- 4:53And I'm going to really just focus on talking about one of
- 4:56them on this Instagram Live. So #1 the biggest thing before
- 5:00any of this is growing your mindset and growing your
- 5:04confidence and critical thinking skills.
- 5:06What I mean by this is you do not have to feel ready or feel
- 5:10100% confident for this goal, but you must start taking action
- 5:14towards it. I knew that I wanted flight
- 5:16nursing when I was in nursing school.
- 5:18And so because of that, I really highly encourage you if you're
- 5:22in nursing school, as soon as nursing school to start taking
- 5:25action towards it. These actions are these three
- 5:28things. One, grow your mindset, grow
- 5:31your confidence, grow your critical thinking skills.
- 5:34Part of this is if you're a doer like me, you don't want to
- 5:37hustle and you don't want to overwork.
- 5:39You want to make this action plan work for your current life.
- 5:43Meaning you want to do this in a simple and a doable way.
- 5:47This leads me to #2 #2 to getting the flight is having a
- 5:51well mapped out plan inside my program, inside the flight prep
- 5:55Academy. I give you a well mapped out
- 5:58plan no matter where you're starting, whether you're nursing
- 6:00school, nursing school, just graduated critical care nurse,
- 6:05two to three years, 1-2 and three years.
- 6:07I have a plan for each of those years and things that you can
- 6:10start taking action on. So having a well mapped out plan
- 6:13is super important because it keeps you on track and keeps you
- 6:17out of confusion. I hear from a lot of people I
- 6:19don't know where to start. I don't know what to do when you
- 6:22have a plan, it keeps you on track and it also prevents you
- 6:25from hustling and doing a lot of things.
- 6:27You just do these simple things on the plan and I really teach
- 6:30you what those are. The third most important thing
- 6:34that I want to talk about today in getting into flight is doing
- 6:37ride alongs and making connections with flight
- 6:39companies. You want to do this as soon as
- 6:42nursing school. I have lots of nursing students
- 6:45and in fact pre nursing students inside the flight prep Academy
- 6:49and they are doing ride alongs. In fact I just got a text
- 6:52message yesterday from 1 insider community who did a ride along
- 6:56and had two scene calls on her ride along.
- 6:59Ride alongs are awesome. These are the reasons why you
- 7:01want to be doing them early on. Ride alongs are a relaxed
- 7:05environment where you can get to know the teams and they can get
- 7:09to know you. You want your name to be a name
- 7:12that they know before you hit the three-year mark.
- 7:15You also want to give yourself an opportunity to quote, UN
- 7:18quote, speed, date a bunch of companies.
- 7:21You want to figure out what you want in this company.
- 7:24And I liken it to marriage. For most of you, flight is the
- 7:28end all be all goal. It's your dream job.
- 7:31So you wouldn't just go into marriage before marrying someone
- 7:34and be like, OK, I'm going to pick this one person and I'm
- 7:37going to marry them. And that's what I see a lot of
- 7:39you guys do. You say, oh, I'm going to wait
- 7:40till the three-year mark. Once I hear the three-year mark,
- 7:43then I'm going to just marry this person.
- 7:44But it just leaves things out of your control.
- 7:46It leaves things out in the whim.
- 7:48And I want to let you know it's so competitive that you don't
- 7:51want to be that person who waits.
- 7:53You want to start working towards it as soon as nursing
- 7:55school. And so dating a bunch of people
- 7:59gives you an opportunity and a relaxed environment for you to
- 8:02figure out what you want and for them to get to know you.
- 8:06So you want to go into these ride alongs basically with a
- 8:09checklist of thinking about what do I want in the flight company
- 8:11that I'm going to marry even if I'm in nursing school?
- 8:14Think about the things that you value.
- 8:16Is it education? Is it management?
- 8:19Is it safety? Safety is a big thing that we're
- 8:22talking about in the flight community right now.
- 8:25And so you want to start thinking about what are those
- 8:27lists? And as you date a bunch of
- 8:29companies, as you do these ride alongs, as you make these
- 8:31connections, you can see which one of these companies or bases
- 8:35fit in these subsets. And also what you want in the
- 8:39company that you're going to quote, UN quote, marry might
- 8:42change and might be different. This also gives them an idea of
- 8:46who you are. So as you're doing these base
- 8:48visits, as you're doing these ride alongs, they're like, oh, I
- 8:51know Janessa, she's this person. This is the kind of team leader
- 8:54she has. These are the kind of questions
- 8:56she asks and you want to continue to do them with
- 8:58multiple bases and the same bases over and over.
- 9:01In fact, I highly recommend to the people inside my program.
- 9:05We're doing these 6 to 8 times in six month period.
- 9:09So we're doing about 12 a year or actually, I'm sorry, 6 to 8
- 9:13in a year. So we're doing about 1:00 every
- 9:15other month. Now when I teach you how to do
- 9:18them inside my program, you're going to realize they're super
- 9:21easy to get. I have one person I just posted
- 9:24on her a couple days ago. I taught her how to do a ride
- 9:26along in the first month that she joined and she did 6.
- 9:30And while I don't recommend doing 6 because you don't want
- 9:33to burn yourself out, I do highly recommend doing 1 every
- 9:36other month. And once you start to do them,
- 9:39you're going to see what it's like, what the job's like.
- 9:42You are going to be hooked. You're going to see what it
- 9:44tastes like. You're going to see like what
- 9:46the crew is like and what the job is like.
- 9:48And you're going to just love doing them and want to continue
- 9:51doing them. And so This is why ride alongs
- 9:54is so important. You also want them bought into
- 9:57you before the interview. It's going to be much different
- 10:00if they invite you to a flight interview and then in the
- 10:05interview, you know everybody who is interviewing you, it's
- 10:08going to be more relaxed and they're going to be bought into
- 10:10you. This is actually how you get
- 10:12hired in the flight. You do not want to rely on
- 10:15waiting till there's an open application.
- 10:17I hear people say that all the time.
- 10:19That's the worst thing that you can do.
- 10:20You're never going to hear back from these companies because
- 10:23when there's an open application and they have already filled
- 10:27that position, it's just part of down putting it on the Internet
- 10:33that they have an open requisition number.
- 10:35So what they do is what I'm seeing flight companies do now
- 10:39is they're polling people who've been doing these right alongs
- 10:42and making connections with them, interviewing them and
- 10:45saying, hey, we don't have a spot open right now, but we'd
- 10:47love to invite you to an interview.
- 10:49So they interview them and if they like them, then they say,
- 10:52OK, we have you on a roster. And what they do with this
- 10:54roster is they say, hey, when a position does open up, we are
- 10:59going to invite someone from this roster.
- 11:01We're just going to give them an offer.
- 11:03And then they post the requisition number online and
- 11:06that's what you guys are seeing. And then you don't hear a call
- 11:08back and you're like, oh, I guess it was that meant for me.
- 11:11I guess they don't want me. But that's not true.
- 11:13It's just because they have already been pre interviewing
- 11:16people. They've been inviting people to
- 11:18interviews who've been doing these ride alongs and they
- 11:20already have now a roster ahead of time.
- 11:23I want to give you an example of this.
- 11:25I have a client of mine. She has been flying for about a
- 11:29year now, I believe. And she started, she she let me
- 11:35back up, she came to me and she's like, I really want to get
- 11:37into flight, something that I've always wanted to do.
- 11:40And here I am at I think she had been a nurse about four years.
- 11:45She's like, I've been a nurse for about four years and I work
- 11:48in float pool and I'm so far away from the school now.
- 11:52And she goes, what I'm thinking is I want to get a job in an ER
- 11:56or an ICU. I'm studying for my CE and right
- 11:58now and I'm trying to take this pre hospital and this trauma
- 12:02course. And I'm like, OK, what we're
- 12:04going to do is we're going to get rid of all of that.
- 12:06And she said what? And I said in your plan, we are
- 12:09just going to get you hired into an ER or an ICU and we're just
- 12:14going to focus on getting right alongs with the several
- 12:16different companies. And she goes, OK, like, I don't
- 12:20know, I, I don't get it. That's not what I've been told,
- 12:22but let's do it. And she said, OK, so we got her
- 12:25into an ER. I think it was like a Level 3 or
- 12:27a level four. It wasn't like a level 1 trauma,
- 12:29which is totally fine. She started working that part
- 12:32time and then she started getting ride alongs with
- 12:36companies and asking, asking for ride alongs.
- 12:39Then she started doing two or three and after the second one
- 12:42she came to me and she said they really loved me so much.
- 12:45The crew said, let me see your, your resume and we got her
- 12:48resume flight ready. That's something I help you do
- 12:50inside the program too. And that's where we look at
- 12:53specifically what flight companies are looking for.
- 12:54And she said, they asked for my resume and they put it on their
- 12:58fridge and they said this is who we want to hire next.
- 13:01And I was like, that's awesome. And she's like, and they want me
- 13:04to continue to do ride alongs with them.
- 13:06So she did one more ride along with them.
- 13:09I think this was her second one. She came to me after like 3 or 4
- 13:13months of, of following this plan.
- 13:16And she goes, they actually asked me to interview and they
- 13:20told me, Hey, we don't have a position open.
- 13:23There's not going to be a position open probably for 6 to
- 13:2618 months, which is like a huge range.
- 13:30But we we really like you and we want to invite you to just pre
- 13:33interview with us. That way when there is a
- 13:35position, we can just extend an offer to you.
- 13:37And she came to me. She's like what?
- 13:39Like I've only been in ear nurse for six months and they're
- 13:41wanting to interview me. So they interviewed her, they
- 13:45really loved her. They said, congratulations,
- 13:47we're going to put you on this roster.
- 13:48She said great. And then she came back and she
- 13:50came back to me and she's like, I know it's not going to be like
- 13:53probably going to be 6 to 18 months, but it's OK.
- 13:55I'm going to keep doing my thing.
- 13:57So I think 3 or 4 months had gone by and she and she text me
- 14:02and she's like guess what? And I'm like what?
- 14:03She's like an opening opened at their base sooner than they
- 14:06thought. And I was like what?
- 14:08And she's like and they offered me the position and she was just
- 14:12a perfect example of having a well mapped out plan where
- 14:16you're not doing all of the things where you are just
- 14:20focused in on the few simple things that will get you there.
- 14:24And then also how ride alongs made such a difference because
- 14:29that's how you get invited to the interview.
- 14:31And I'm noticing most fight companies are moving to this
- 14:34anyway where they're creating rosters and people that they
- 14:37like from these ride alongs and then they're just pulling from
- 14:39the rosters when there's openings.
- 14:41So that is a reason why you do not want to rely on open
- 14:44positions. You're too behind on that, so I
- 14:48hope that was helpful and you guys thinking about why ride
- 14:51alongs are so important and they're so much fun.
- 14:54So I just want to recap the three things that you think you
- 14:57need to be doing that are actually taking you longer,
- 14:59having you fail all together. Getting to flight is working all
- 15:03the different departments, trying to get all the different
- 15:05time and experience, getting more certifications that you
- 15:08don't need, spending money and time on trauma courses that you
- 15:11don't need. And these are the three things
- 15:14that actually you want to be doing that are going to move you
- 15:17closer to Flight 1. Working on growing your mindset,
- 15:20your capability, your confidence, getting that on
- 15:23board. If you believe that flight is
- 15:26possible for you, if you believe who are flight nurse, other
- 15:30companies will too. And that's why my clients make
- 15:32that transition into flight nursing so easily.
- 15:35That's why they're finishing orientation before they're set
- 15:38orientation date, because they've already become that
- 15:40flight nurse before it happens for them.
- 15:42So you want to start working on that mindset #2 You want to have
- 15:45a well mapped out plan. You want to be sticking to
- 15:49simple, doable things that are going to move it closer to you
- 15:53so you're not taking a bunch of action and hustling and
- 15:55overworking and #3 the biggest thing you want to be doing ride
- 16:00alongs, making connections and networking with flight
- 16:02companies. This also 3.5 thing is you want
- 16:05to focus on flight interview prep specifically.
- 16:08A lot of people tell me they focus on this by opening books
- 16:12and sort of studying certification tests and stuff
- 16:15like that. You do not want to go into
- 16:16flight interviews expecting them to be like critical care
- 16:20interviews. In flight interviews, they don't
- 16:22want to know anything about your time and experience.
- 16:24They just simply want to know who you are, what you value, and
- 16:28the team player you are. So because of that, I have an
- 16:31entire flight interview prep course where I talk about panel
- 16:34interview questions, who are the key players, how to answer them
- 16:37authentically, and then I also talk about case scenarios.
- 16:41How do you verbalize them and how do you walk people through
- 16:44them? Even if you haven't had that
- 16:46type of patient before, even if you've never seen a pediatric or
- 16:50an infant patient before, I have this whole systematic process
- 16:54that I take you through in my flight interview prep course
- 16:56that gets you ready for any a scenario that you can utilize
- 17:00and confidently go through. And then I also teach you
- 17:04minimally, clinically what you need to going into these flight
- 17:08interviews and the formulas that you need to have memorized.
- 17:11And so I just want to offer you guys, I want to talk about one
- 17:17other thing for you guys. And I just want to kind of tell
- 17:19you about what is included in the flight prep flight prep
- 17:23Academy and why it's so important to have all of these
- 17:28mapped out plans and to have your flight, your flight plan
- 17:33ready and to be doing ride alongs and making connections
- 17:35with companies. So I hope that that got you into
- 17:39motivated to start doing ride alongs and start making the
- 17:42connections, start taking action now towards your flight goal.
- 17:45So inside the flight prep Academy, I'm going to get you
- 17:48completely ready no matter where you're starting in this journey.
- 17:51Again, if you are a nursing student, pre nursing student,
- 17:55just graduated nursing school or already working critical care,
- 17:58you're going to have a well mapped out plan inside this
- 18:02group. And I've made this group
- 18:04lifetime membership. When I first started it, it used
- 18:07to be a small group and I didn't like that because all of you
- 18:10guys were at different levels of getting to flight and different
- 18:12parts of your journey. And I really want to be able to
- 18:17you and mentor you all the way to the flight offer and then
- 18:20also beyond that for however long you want to fly.
- 18:23So because of that, we have about 100 people inside the
- 18:26flight prep Academy and there's about 30 to 40 flight nurses and
- 18:31flight medics already currently in there too that I've helped
- 18:33get hired. And so you get to also have be
- 18:36in a community with other flight nurses and flight medics.
- 18:38So I'm going to talk about the flight prep Academy now and at
- 18:41any point you guys can DM me flight or comment flight for it
- 18:44to be sent directly to your direct message information on
- 18:48it. But I'm going to talk to you a
- 18:50little bit about what is included in it.
- 18:52So inside the flight prep Academy, it's not just a
- 18:55program. I do have a member portal where
- 18:58I lay out a five step process. I'm going to talk about that for
- 19:01you in a second that you can go back and watch anytime.
- 19:04But I think it's really key to have ongoing weekly support.
- 19:08So because of that, we have weekly calls every Tuesday.
- 19:11It's a set date and time and you don't have to come live to it
- 19:15because I know all of you guys were shift work.
- 19:18All the calls are recorded and you can watch any of the replays
- 19:22anytime of our weekly calls inside the member portal.
- 19:25I think it's really key that as you formulate what your plan is
- 19:29to get to flight, as you start taking action towards it, that
- 19:32you have that support. So these weekly calls are made
- 19:35for you to come and talk about and get coaching on.
- 19:38What are the obstacles that you're facing with your mapped
- 19:40out plan? Maybe what's coming up for you?
- 19:42How do we build your confidence level?
- 19:45How do we do this in a balanced way so that we're not hustling
- 19:48and overworking or any other thoughts and feelings that are
- 19:51coming up for you? This also normalizes
- 19:54conversations. So I had an e-mail, someone who
- 19:57came to me and was like, hey, there's been a lot of medevac
- 19:59crashes, can you talk to me about safety?
- 20:02So every every week, we're normalizing having some of these
- 20:06conversations. What are some safety things that
- 20:08we should be thinking about in companies that we're looking
- 20:10for? And we're just normalizing not
- 20:13doing it alone. Are you facing imposter
- 20:15syndrome? Are you having doubt?
- 20:17Are you nervous? We're talking and coaching on a
- 20:19lot of these thoughts and feelings every week.
- 20:21So I think it's really important to have a weekly call where
- 20:24you're putting your plan to action.
- 20:26So you have that inside my group.
- 20:28The other big thing that is included inside the flight Prep
- 20:31Academy is an ongoing community group chat.
- 20:34This is honestly my favorite part of it.
- 20:36This is the community and support that I wish I had when I
- 20:40was a nurse and when I was a flight nurse.
- 20:43This is involves people all over the United States, so you can
- 20:48tap into this community group chat 24/7 for support.
- 20:52So what this looks like is hey, it's 8:00 on a Tuesday night and
- 20:56you're spinning and you're like, Oh my gosh, I'm so confused.
- 20:58They haven't wrote me back yet and now I don't know what to do.
- 21:01You can tap into this group and say, hey guys, I need some
- 21:03support on this or you can get coaching from me.
- 21:06This is so nice because this will prevent you from
- 21:08overthinking your head and spinning and getting an
- 21:11overwhelm. So you can tap into this
- 21:13community group chat 24/7 for support.
- 21:15The other way that I've been seeing it used is some people
- 21:19are like, hey, I'm getting ready to take my CN or my CCRN.
- 21:23What are the best resources to use for this?
- 21:25So people ask that question and then they get that out of there
- 21:28or they're like, hey, I'm getting ready to study some 12
- 21:30leads. What's a good reference sheet
- 21:32that you guys use? Or another one that I've seen
- 21:34too is I'm getting ready for this big flight interview.
- 21:37Is someone willing to like go over some questions with me and
- 21:40do a mock interview with me And they're like, yeah, let's go
- 21:42over it. So this is your own support
- 21:45group to be able to tap into to get support 24/7 from anyone
- 21:48there. And I think this is the key part
- 21:51you guys to getting the flight is not going at it alone, not
- 21:55getting stuck in your head, having people who have a common
- 21:58goal and then also people who have been there to help support
- 22:01you along the way because I know what you're going through.
- 22:04The third part that's included in this is you have an online
- 22:07member portal. So in this member portal, when
- 22:10you first join, there's a welcome video and then you have
- 22:13my five step process in there. And there's videos that you can
- 22:16watch on demand in the five step process.
- 22:18I have mindset. What's a mindset that you need
- 22:22to be able to be nervous and have doubt and work towards this
- 22:25big flight goal. The second video is mapping out
- 22:27your plan. So in this mapping out your plan
- 22:29video, I talk about no matter where you're starting, what your
- 22:32plan should be and what are the simple things that are going to
- 22:34move you forward. The third part is how to get
- 22:37right alongs and make connections.
- 22:39So as soon as you watch this, you'll be able to secure right
- 22:42along in the first month of joining.
- 22:44And then the 4th video is how do you get your resume flight
- 22:47ready? So I hone in, even if you're in
- 22:49nursing school, this is really good for getting your resume
- 22:51critical care ready. I hone in specifically on what
- 22:54flight companies are looking for, what to include in there,
- 22:57what not to include. And then I have a mock flight
- 23:00resume. So you can use that as a
- 23:02template too. And then in the video, I go over
- 23:04three or four people's resumes. You can kind of see like what
- 23:07I'm talking about, what you should include and not include.
- 23:10So you'll have your flight resume very clear.
- 23:12And that's kind of the first thing that we go over together
- 23:14once you join is your plan and your flight resume.
- 23:17And I will work that individual with you on the calls.
- 23:21And then the 5th part of my process is getting ready for
- 23:24your ride along day. OK, so you secured these ride
- 23:27alongs. Now how do you get ready for
- 23:28them? So on this video, I really am
- 23:30talking to you about what questions to go in asking what
- 23:33to wear, what to eat, what not to wear, what not to eat and
- 23:37what to kind of expect on your ride along day.
- 23:39So you can watch that anytime, even if it's quickly you want to
- 23:43reference it before your first ride along.
- 23:45And then you have the interview prep course, which is the
- 23:47three-part course. I have worksheets attached to
- 23:49that. I talk about the mindset going
- 23:51into the panel or into the interviews, the panel
- 23:54interviews, typical panel interview questions.
- 23:56I have those attached and then the case scenarios.
- 23:59And then I have a worksheet attached to that that walked you
- 24:02through a systematic process on how to verbalize them.
- 24:05And then also what you need to know minimally, clinically going
- 24:10into it. So RSA drugs and intubation
- 24:12formulas and all of that. So you know exactly what to
- 24:14expect from flight interviews. I have people who come and join
- 24:18my program, binge watch the flight interviews, go to their
- 24:21interview the next week and get hired.
- 24:23Like, and I just want you to know it is so, so valuable.
- 24:27Actually just had a client who texted me yesterday and said he
- 24:29just got an offer. I'm going to post that today on
- 24:31Instagram. But he just got an offer and
- 24:33that's what he did too. He binge watched the flight
- 24:35interview prep course and he went to the interview and they
- 24:39extended an offer to him. So you're going to get all these
- 24:43videos, the five step process, the flight interview prep, the
- 24:48community group chat, and the ongoing weekly calls.
- 24:51You will get all of this for $2000 inside the lifetime
- 24:55membership inside the Flight Prep Academy.
- 24:57Now I know for a lot of you guys that sounds like a lot of money
- 25:00and I want to offer you guys. I spent a ton of money trying to
- 25:04get to flight. I tried to get all these
- 25:06certifications, all these testings, all of these trauma
- 25:11courses, all of these classes and you do not need any of that.
- 25:17I am going to give you every single thing that you need all
- 25:21the way to an offer and beyond to flying and help you
- 25:24transition confidently inside the flight prep Academy.
- 25:28This investment is going to give you your time back.
- 25:31I am helping people cut their timeline in half of getting to
- 25:34flight. I help that nurse get hired in
- 25:36the flight after one year of working ER and that is just
- 25:39simply by following this plan and you're going to get the
- 25:42support in the community. So there's two ways.
- 25:46There's there's two ways to join.
- 25:48Actually, not two ways. One way to join 1.
- 25:51You can click on the link in my bio and you can click on the
- 25:54link that says join the flight prep Academy.
- 25:56You can also DM me flight and I'll send it to you or you can
- 25:59comment flight. Now there's two different ways
- 26:02to make a payment. There's a painful option, which
- 26:04I always suggest doing just painful be done with it.
- 26:08You have to think about it again.
- 26:09You can go all in on your goal with the painful for the
- 26:13lifetime membership of the program.
- 26:15You're going to get all the things that I just talked about
- 26:17and you will also get a one-on-one call with me.
- 26:20So on that one-on-one call, we can go over your plan.
- 26:23We can workshop your resume. We can do flight interview prep.
- 26:26You get all of that for free. If you do the painful option.
- 26:29I do also offer a payment plan option.
- 26:32Ioffer A6 monthly payment of 360.
- 26:35If you go to my website, which is linked to my bio or if you
- 26:40comment flight now or DME flight, if you click on that,
- 26:44you're going to see the two payment options there.
- 26:47I am offering right now a bonus offer for those of you guys who
- 26:52join. So whether you do the payment
- 26:54plan option or the painful option, I'm giving everybody who
- 26:58joins before tomorrow, January 16th at midnight, I'm giving you
- 27:03a Friday flight check in. What that means is on WhatsApp
- 27:07individually every Friday, I will be checking in with you do
- 27:11either by text message or voice memo.
- 27:13That way you can build the momentum in the first month of
- 27:17joining. So you're going to have four
- 27:19individual private check insurance with me if you join my
- 27:22program before tomorrow at midnight, January 16th.
- 27:27And doesn't matter if you do the painful option or the six
- 27:31monthly payment plan option. Three questions that I want you
- 27:35to ask yourself. Will this decision move me
- 27:39closer to my flight goals? Does this increase my chance of
- 27:43success versus doing it on my own?
- 27:46And the third one is can I figure out how to make this
- 27:49investment? If the answer to all three of
- 27:53this is yes, then this is the program that you want to be in
- 27:56'cause I am going to help you achieve this in a shorter amount
- 28:00of time. Not overworking, not hustling,
- 28:04and doing it in a doable way. And I'm going to teach you the
- 28:07actions that will move you forward towards flight, that are
- 28:11going to help you increase your capability and your confidence
- 28:15in moving towards this goal. Again, you do not have to feel
- 28:18ready or confident before going for it, but you do need to start
- 28:21taking action towards it. If you know you want it, stop
- 28:25scrolling, stop thinking about it.
- 28:27Be the person who starts today securing your first right along
- 28:31this month and starts taking action and having a well mapped
- 28:34out plan. I just had people in the three.
- 28:36Well, I'm not including the one who just texted me yesterday and
- 28:39got hired, but I had three people in the last month get
- 28:42hired in the flight 2 full time positions and one part time.
- 28:45And so I want to offer you if, if you don't want to do this
- 28:47full time, that's OK too. We'll help you get a part time
- 28:50job or a per damn job. Last couple thoughts that I want
- 28:53to offer you, if you're watching this, you are capable.
- 28:58You belong in flight. This dream was put in your heart
- 29:02for a reason and I am so thankful and so glad that I
- 29:06followed that for myself because it was the best job ever and it
- 29:11was so rewarding and it's more than what you even can imagine
- 29:15it to be. So finish what you started,
- 29:17start taking action towards it and if you want it, I have got
- 29:21you. OK you guys again comment flight
- 29:24or DM me flight if you want information on how to join and
- 29:29if you join you are going to get that Friday flight check in with
- 29:33the individual for check insurance with me if you join
- 29:36before tomorrow night at midnight.
- 29:38OK, I'm going to go back and scroll through any questions and
- 29:42if you guys have any stick them in the question box right now
- 29:44because I want to go over any questions with you guys as well.
- 29:52OK, someone asked, is it easier to be a flight nurse or a flight
- 29:56medic? Both have similar requirements.
- 29:59I wouldn't say 1's easier than the other.
- 30:01It's just whatever route you want to go.
- 30:03Both are trained very differently.
- 30:05There's a reason why you have a flight medic and a flight nurse
- 30:07because the flight medic brings all the pre hospital experience
- 30:10and the flight nurse brings all the hospital experience and it
- 30:12just makes for a really, really good partnership.
- 30:15So it just depends on if you want to go EMT medic route and
- 30:19really work the pre hospital route or if you want to go
- 30:21critical care their route and work the the hospital route in
- 30:25getting there. Both do the same job so it just
- 30:29depends on which one you're more interested in and and I highly
- 30:33recommend not doing both. I have a lot of nurses ask me
- 30:35should I go and get my medical license and I say no.
- 30:38You really just want to focus in on honing either being a a
- 30:41really good critical care nurse or a really good medic.
- 30:45Good question. OK someone asked is there some
- 30:54sort of special training or anything that nurses have to do
- 30:57in order to do ride alongs? Nope.
- 30:58You can do a ride along as a nursing student or even someone
- 31:02who's interested in flight. I took anybody who asked me if
- 31:05they want to do a ride along. I had to get in OK by my manager
- 31:08but I had people who weren't even in nursing or in healthcare
- 31:11who I who I helped. They did ride alongs with me.
- 31:15So most companies will allow you to do them now that kind of
- 31:18COVID has moved through and is over.
- 31:20Good question. Come join.
- 31:22I'm going to teach you how to do on the month you join.
- 31:25Is there a state that's more favorable for flight?
- 31:27No, I really am a big believer that you can get hired anywhere
- 31:32in the United States. And in my program I teach you
- 31:34how to secure ride alongs and how to get hired to any flight
- 31:38company inside the US. There's different kinds of
- 31:40flight companies. There's hospital based flight
- 31:43companies where the the flight nurses are employed by the
- 31:49hospital and they basically they're basic is the hospital.
- 31:54So they impact when they're when they're not flying or they don't
- 31:57have a call. So you work for the hospital.
- 31:59And then I worked for a company that was private, where it's a
- 32:03private air ambulance company, which those are more common.
- 32:07And so I'm going to teach you how to get hired in any of
- 32:10those. And really you want to be dating
- 32:12all those different types of companies so that you can get an
- 32:15idea of like what's a good fit for you?
- 32:16Because some people want to do hospital based flight nursing
- 32:20and some people don't. Good question.
- 32:24OK, I don't see any other questions.
- 32:26I hope to see you guys inside come and join us so that you
- 32:29guys can get that bonus before tomorrow.
- 32:31And then as always, I answer each and every person's
- 32:35questions individually. You're so welcome.
- 32:37Thanks for asking those questions.
- 32:38They are really good. So I just hope that this
- 32:42motivates you to get going. Start taking action.
- 32:45Let's get you a right along this month.
- 32:46Let's get you 6 if you want, but let's start taking action
- 32:49towards this goal. 2020 to 26. This is the year that you're
- 32:52gonna get your flight nursing goal, have it mapped out, start
- 32:56taking action towards it, or get hired if you want it.
- 32:59I've got you. Alright guys, that's it for
- 33:00today. See ya bye.
- 33:03If anything in this episode sparked your interest into
- 33:05getting into flight, come join my flight flight group.
- 33:08We are an entire community that meets together on a weekly basis
- 33:11with an ongoing group chat. And if you are already flying
- 33:14and you are currently a flight nurse or flight medic, you can
- 33:16join my all flight clinician group as well.
- 33:18You can click on the link to join in the show notes or you
- 33:20can DM me on Instagram. I hope to see all of you guys
- 33:22inside.
