- 1:32He's been on this show quite a few times and he's doing some
- 1:35big things right now. Ladies and gentlemen, we're now
- 1:37talking to Chatted Up sports radio show hosts host Greg
- 1:42Larner. Greg, what's up, buddy?
- 1:44Hey fellas, good to be back. Literally just jumped off the
- 1:47Chatted Up Sports podcast and now jumping on the show with you
- 1:51guys. So we're just going back-to-back
- 1:53to back here on a Monday night. Now you're a New York native, so
- 1:57we all know. Yes, yes, yes.
- 1:59But you're living in Louisiana still, right?
- 2:01No, I've bounced around, brother.
- 2:02The last time I talked to you guys, I was in Chattanooga, TN,
- 2:05right? And now I've just taken a new
- 2:06job in here, probably about a month in Florence, AL.
- 2:11I am the hitting coach for the softball team of North Alabama.
- 2:15Oh, OK. And we know you play baseball
- 2:17and you're one of the kindest people we've had on this show,
- 2:21especially all the things that you've done over the last couple
- 2:23of years, jumping from one organization to another.
- 2:26But you do it in such prestige and, and, and kindness and
- 2:30craziness on this show. You've been on this show, We've
- 2:33gone back and forth with you many, many times and we've done
- 2:36a lot of crazy things. So I want to get in to obviously
- 2:40the football season because that's going on.
- 2:41And then we'll get into baseball because I know there's a lot
- 2:44going on. I know you're a Met fan, so
- 2:46we'll get into the the New York Mets and the debacle the New
- 2:49York Mets have been in the last, what, few weeks?
- 2:53They've been really bad. Want soda has been hot, but
- 2:55everybody else has been not. But The Jets and the Giants and
- 2:59the New York Jets game #2 obviously he had a no show.
- 3:04Sauce Garner, who I've been, he got overpaid until he proves to
- 3:08me in a big game that he can show up and make plays.
- 3:10I think he was overpaid. Garrett Wilson, who's gone out
- 3:13there and said that he's a top five wide receiver.
- 3:15He got paid like that in the offseason.
- 3:17Has he really even, but even with game #1 he did play well
- 3:21game number one, but game #2 he didn't do enough.
- 3:24And that's why I think The Jets have had problems scoring.
- 3:27What do you think is the problem with the New York Jets?
- 3:29I mean, Bruce Hall also could not run the ball in game number
- 3:322 after what he did in game number one.
- 3:35What do you think is the problem right now with this team?
- 3:37What do you think they need to redefine this week after seeing
- 3:41what they did this week and what they have to do next week?
- 3:45I think they need to redefine their defense a little bit.
- 3:47And I know they're playing the Buffalo Bills and I know that
- 3:49they played the Steelers and the Aaron Rodgers and all of that,
- 3:53but giving up 30 plus points in both the first two games, I
- 3:58don't give a damn who you're playing.
- 3:59You're Aaron Glenn, you're supposed to be this defensive
- 4:01minded head coach. And I know they had the same
- 4:04thing with Robert Sala in there beforehand as well.
- 4:07And so to me, I'm looking at this defense that needs to play
- 4:12better with the defensive minded head coach.
- 4:14So if I'm a Jets fan, I'm looking at this team and I'm
- 4:17saying, all right, we hired Aaron Glenn.
- 4:19The defense should be better. And you would expect the same
- 4:22thing with Robert Sala. You talked about Sauce Gardner
- 4:24being paid, you know, overpaid maybe a little bit.
- 4:26And then I I heard there was rumbling that's The Jets could
- 4:30have had Michael Parsons if they were willing to part with a guy
- 4:33like Quinn and Williams as well, because, you know, Jerry was
- 4:36looking for that defensive tackle to help stop the run to
- 4:39get rid of Michael Parson. So they didn't do that.
- 4:42And to me, it's, it's really the defense.
- 4:44And I know Justin Fields didn't play particularly well in that
- 4:48game before he got knocked out against Buffalo, but he's he he
- 4:52played well in that first game. But to me, it really starts and
- 4:56ends with the defense. Like you got to find a way to
- 4:58stop somebody and and you allow old man Aaron Rodgers to throw
- 5:02all over you in that first game. Obviously a little bit of a
- 5:04revenge game. And then you let James Cook run
- 5:06all over you in that in that second game.
- 5:08So to me, the defense has got to step up.
- 5:11They have to start playing a little better.
- 5:13And it's not going to be easy going to Tampa Bay this upcoming
- 5:16week because that's a team that likes to throw the football
- 5:18around a lot. They've got a capable running
- 5:20game. So that's going to be a tough
- 5:22task for Aaron Glenn and company as well to kind of step up and
- 5:26show their salt or show his salt a little bit of like, hey, can
- 5:29we actually stop somebody? I know you talked about Parise
- 5:31Hall as well, but to me it starts with the defense and they
- 5:35have not been very good so far this year.
- 5:37So I know you're a Packers fan. Obviously Michael Parson's the
- 5:40big trade, probably the big trade of the offseason.
- 5:41Like obviously you've seen the Packers defense play very well
- 5:44the first two games. What do you think is the ceiling
- 5:46for like Packers as a team and their whole defensive unit?
- 5:50Dude, you know, I, I wasn't ready to put them up there and
- 5:53say before the season, even after getting Michael Parsons to
- 5:56say this is an elite level defense, because I looked at the
- 5:59secondary and I was like, yes, you know, I, I'm, I'm glad that
- 6:01we have a little bit of a pass rush now, maybe a little bit
- 6:04more than a little bit of a pass rush with Michael Parsons.
- 6:07But adding him into that mix. I still wasn't sold on the
- 6:11cornerbacks. You know, you get rid of Jai Air
- 6:13and you got Nate Hobbs who came in.
- 6:15He hasn't proven to be very good in his NFL career.
- 6:18Just kind of a guy. And then you've got Keyshawn
- 6:20Nixon, who's been more of a returner than a than a than a
- 6:23quarterback and, and Valentine is is been kind of up and down.
- 6:26So I wasn't sold on their cornerbacks.
- 6:28I love what Edwin Cooper is. And I think to me he is sort of
- 6:32the unsung hero here. And I was kind of looking up
- 6:34some stuff while while you guys were on your last segment and
- 6:37it's been pretty incredible. Obviously everybody's going to
- 6:39talk about Michael Parsons with the 90 pass rush grade from Pro
- 6:43Football Focus, the 10 pressures, the 1 1/2 sacks, the
- 6:4625% pass rush win rate. And as he gets more comfortable,
- 6:50obviously in in is in Green Bay a little bit more, he's going to
- 6:53those numbers are just going to increase it would one would
- 6:56assume. And he seems motivated.
- 6:57He just got paid. He knows what the Packers gave
- 6:59up to get him and paid him handsomely.
- 7:01So he seems like one of those guys who's just going to work
- 7:03his tail off. But I mentioned Edrin Cooper and
- 7:06he's the name that not a lot of people know of, so I want to
- 7:09spotlight him a little bit. Leads the team in tackles
- 7:12through two games with 22 tackles.
- 7:14And then per Next Gen. Stats, I love this stat.
- 7:16Edrin Cooper leads the NFL in their version of a stop, which
- 7:20is a tackle creating a negative change in EPA.
- 7:24He already has fifteen of those in two games.
- 7:26So he to me is the difference maker on this defense.
- 7:30He's the guy that nobody's really spotlighting and I know
- 7:33everybody's going to look at Michael Parsons and he's
- 7:34absolutely a different a difference maker and he's
- 7:36helping, you know, create opportunities for Rashawn Gary
- 7:40and and that's who's looked pretty good and and you know, he
- 7:44could like man, like I was going to play a lot.
- 7:45Now Mike is not he hasn't had that attitude, it seems like.
- 7:48So just super pumped the way that this defense has looked
- 7:51because you look back and you know, as a Packer fan, you look
- 7:54back over there, you know, last couple of championships that I
- 7:56was alive for with the first one in Brett Farber 96, then Aaron
- 8:00in in 2011, 2010, 2011. You look at what is sort of the
- 8:05common denominator and it's been the defenses.
- 8:07It's like when the Packers have a top level defense, they
- 8:11typically have a good chance to win championships.
- 8:14I mean, you can look back on all these prolific offenses that the
- 8:17Packers had and they weren't able to make it to Super Bowls.
- 8:20You know, they won the only one that they got there with with
- 8:22Aaron Rodgers and you'll get all the receivers that they've had.
- 8:25And now it's kind of flipped. It's like, all right, the
- 8:27Packers don't really have much of A receiving core at this
- 8:30point. I was just talking about this on
- 8:32our show. Like Tucker Kraft to me seems
- 8:35like one of those guys that I'm not ready to put him in that
- 8:37George Kittle, you know, Mark Andrews from from yesteryear and
- 8:41Travis Kelsey from yesteryear type of, of category yet.
- 8:44But he showed well on Thursday Night Football.
- 8:46And if he can be a guy that can consistently step up for this
- 8:50offense, I feel much better about this passing game.
- 8:53And it seems like everybody's plan, at least through the 1st 2
- 8:55weeks is, hey, we're trying to stop Josh Jacobs.
- 8:59Let's see if Aaron Rodgers and these receivers can beat us and
- 9:01they've been able to do enough. And again, the one thing that
- 9:04really shines to me is they were able to hold down the Lions.
- 9:07And you might have thought after Week 1, uh, well, you know, Ben
- 9:10Johnson isn't there different look, Lions then they hang 52 on
- 9:14Ben Johnson's now LED Bears. So there was that.
- 9:16And then obviously stymieing the commanders and what Jayden
- 9:20Daniels can do. And in that receiving corps as
- 9:22well, pretty darn impressive. And so yeah, I'm just really
- 9:25stoked and excited about this defense in general.
- 9:28Yeah, you're talking about the the Packers too.
- 9:30What what are your thoughts on Jordan Love?
- 9:32Like I sometimes he gets me and I, I want to just, you know, he,
- 9:37you get glued on him just for athleticism and arm strength and
- 9:40whatever. What What are your thoughts on
- 9:42him? Dude, I love Jordan Love.
- 9:43I mean, he learned under Aaron Rodgers, who learned under Farv.
- 9:47And I love the lineage and the symmetry that these quarterbacks
- 9:51have throughout my entire lifetime.
- 9:53I'm 35 and I have not seen, knock on wood, you know, lower
- 9:57level quarterback play. I understand.
- 9:59I'm a very blessed NFL fan and I just love what we've done and
- 10:03how we've developed these quarterbacks.
- 10:05And he's he's not Aaron Rodgers and Aaron Rodgers wasn't Brett
- 10:09Farr very different level players.
- 10:11And I think we see more of a similarity between what Aaron is
- 10:15in what Jordan is because obviously they worked closely
- 10:17together and Aaron was much better to to him than Brett was
- 10:21to Aaron. I know they've talked at length
- 10:22about that, but Jordan needs to dial in a little bit of the
- 10:26deeper throws, the lower percentage throws, because now
- 10:29they have a, a top level wide receiver or at least a number
- 10:32one, you know, first round pick and, and Matthew Golden.
- 10:35And we were, again, we were talking about this on our
- 10:36podcast, chatting up sports that like they are just missing on
- 10:40Matthew Golden. And I know his stats haven't
- 10:42looked good over the first two weeks, but believe me, he's
- 10:45going to start putting up some big numbers here at some point
- 10:48throughout this season. I know what rookies maybe take a
- 10:50little bit, you know, more time to mesh into the offenses and
- 10:53things like that. But Love, the command that
- 10:55Jordan Love has in this offense, he's going to turn 27 this year.
- 10:59So he's obviously matured. He's been with that for his
- 11:01entire career. It seems like they're really
- 11:04starting to to kind of mesh and put everything together.
- 11:07Jordan's got the tenure in the NFL and and like you said, Java,
- 11:10he's got the the athleticism, he's got the wherewithal, he's
- 11:13got the smarts. He's learned from an incredibly
- 11:15smart human and football player and Aaron Rodgers.
- 11:18So you kind of take all that. The offensive line is pretty
- 11:21good in front of him and obviously he's got a good
- 11:22running back behind him and capable enough wide receivers.
- 11:25I don't think he has that one go to guy, and that worries me a
- 11:29little bit. But again, when you have that
- 11:31elite level of a defense, you don't have to go out there and
- 11:34be Superman. You don't have to try to
- 11:36outscore people and score 35 points a night.
- 11:39You can go out there and I think Micah said, hey, if you put up
- 11:4220 points, we should win that game.
- 11:43So I love that, that adage. And it just seems like
- 11:46everybody's on good page and Jordan just has a really good
- 11:49comfortability about playing the quarterback position for the
- 11:52Green Bay Packers and in what Matt Lafleur wants to do.
- 11:55We are talking to Chatted Up sports radio host A Greg
- 11:59Larnard. He's been on our show.
- 12:00He's doing some big things right now, dropping from one city to
- 12:04the other. He's been on our show quite a
- 12:06few times and, and we're we're we're speaking about the Green
- 12:10Bay Packers. And I was one of very few people
- 12:12that like Jordan Love. A lot of people were questioning
- 12:15the Packers moving up in the first round to scooping up a guy
- 12:19like Jordan Love and didn't make Aaron Rodgers very happy at the
- 12:22time when he was the elite of elite quarterbacks in the
- 12:26league. And it looks like they made the
- 12:29right decision. Matt Lafleur looks like he's the
- 12:31right coach. You could see the difference,
- 12:33the uniqueness. This is the youngest team right
- 12:35now in the NFL. You can see how talented they
- 12:37are, how prolific they could be offensively when and and losing
- 12:41Jaden Reed it that does hurt him.
- 12:43But that they have Watson coming back now.
- 12:45Christian Watson just signed an extension, A1 year extension.
- 12:48So now you're getting another another big time wide receiver.
- 12:51We'll see how it all works, but I want to go into that division
- 12:56and that division with the Lions, Chicago and obviously the
- 13:00Vikings. I believe this is the best
- 13:03division in football. And now the Chicago Bears have
- 13:05not looked good in the first two games.
- 13:07They haven't. And maybe Ben Johnson needs to
- 13:09figure things out. Caleb Williams needs to shut his
- 13:12mouth and just play the game. And they need to find a running
- 13:15game because Chicago has none of it.
- 13:17But nevertheless, Chicago could be really, really good.
- 13:20We know what Minnesota has. McCarthy did not look good the
- 13:24other day, but on Sunday Night Football.
- 13:25But I I think he still needs to figure out the speed of the
- 13:28game. And we already know what the
- 13:31Lions could be even though they lost a ton of coaches.
- 13:33Why do you why does everybody believe this is the best
- 13:36division in football? And tell me what makes this
- 13:39division more unique going into the second-half of the season
- 13:43when these teams really take it to that next level.
- 13:46So I'll start with the first one there.
- 13:47In terms of why people believe that this is one of the best
- 13:50divisions in football, I totally understand it there.
- 13:54To me, there's a lot of consistency with the top two
- 13:58teams. You were talking about the
- 14:00Lions, who have been really consistent since Dan Campbell
- 14:02got there. I know the first year wasn't
- 14:04great, first year wasn't great, but he's built a really good
- 14:08program and a really good culture there in Detroit.
- 14:10And and as a Packers fan, look, we've sort of been the Big
- 14:14Brother of the of the Lions for for a while now in in my
- 14:16lifetime. So it's like I don't really have
- 14:18any real hatred toward the Lions.
- 14:20I actually like Dan Campbell a lot.
- 14:22I like the redemption story of Jared Goff, a Monroe St.
- 14:25Brown is probably one of my favorite wide receivers to watch
- 14:27in the National Football League. So over the last couple of
- 14:30years, if the Packers are eliminated, like I have no
- 14:32problem rooting for the Lions or trying to see them win.
- 14:35But the other two teams I absolutely want no part of them
- 14:38winning ever at all. Hate the Vikings.
- 14:42I know typical Packer fans hate the Bears more than they hate
- 14:45the Vikings. But for me growing up as a
- 14:47Packers fan watching Dante Colepper and Randy Moss like
- 14:51they were more of our constituent almost.
- 14:54They're our equal and I just remember Randy Moss just after
- 14:57you scored a touchdown in the playoffs just mimicking moaning
- 14:59the crowd at Lambeau. And that always sort of stuck
- 15:02with me. So I have a deep seated hatred
- 15:04for the Vikings. But you can't deny what KOC does
- 15:08there at in Minnesota. I think he's just a fantastic
- 15:12coach. Obviously you can see that in
- 15:14that example of what he did with Sam Darnold last year.
- 15:17I think people that look at this team and say, hey, he can do the
- 15:21exact same thing right away to JJ McCarthy is very far fetched.
- 15:26They have a really good team. Brian Flores is an exceptional
- 15:28defensive coordinator. Justin Jefferson is obviously a
- 15:31stud. They're going to get Jordan
- 15:32Addison back. They just signed Jordan Mason.
- 15:34They've got a lot of problems along the offensive line and I
- 15:36think that's what's really going to hinder them this year.
- 15:39So as much as people are excited about the Vikings, I really
- 15:43don't feel like, especially after what we watched last night
- 15:46against the Falcons at home, that they are going to be a team
- 15:48that is going to be ready to jump into playoff contention
- 15:51this year. Again, JJ coming off the injury,
- 15:55I feel like it's going to take a little bit of time for him to
- 15:58really work with J and to get him comfortable in the NFL.
- 16:01And again, you got a makeshift offensive line.
- 16:04That scares me a little bit with some of the injuries that they
- 16:06obviously sustained on Sunday Night Football and then with the
- 16:09Bears. Look, how could you not be
- 16:12excited about what this team was was putting on paper?
- 16:15You hired one of the best offensive minds in the game.
- 16:17And what he did with with the with the Lions, Jared Goff and
- 16:22Jared Goff, Yeah. Like you've got a number one
- 16:25pick in Caleb Williams. Like, how can you not make this
- 16:28guy successful? You've spent draft capital on
- 16:30Roma Dunze, who's looking really good kind of in that Monroe St.
- 16:34Brown role. Luther Burden, obviously another
- 16:36young wide receiver. DJ Moore you traded for and you
- 16:39got him there. Look, they they drafted Colston
- 16:42Loveland, they've got Colcomet. Haven't really used Loveland
- 16:45yet. I'm getting a little nervous
- 16:47about him. But their defense is really not
- 16:51been that good over the last, you know, two weeks of this
- 16:55season. They've got to kind of figure
- 16:56that thing, those things out. But on paper, the Bears look
- 16:59like they should be really good. So I think there is there's
- 17:02obviously the consistency with the Packers and what they do
- 17:05year in and year out. And then the Lions.
- 17:07And then they're sort of that like unknown factor going into
- 17:10this season of like, hey, KOC did what he did with Sam
- 17:13Darnold, then can he do it with JJ McCarthy And Brian Flores
- 17:16will always keep this team in in games with his defense.
- 17:18And then we don't really know what the Bears are going to be.
- 17:20But on paper, they look like they look good.
- 17:23They're also the Bears. So like, how much can you really
- 17:26buy into what they're? Bears have no running game,
- 17:28Greg. I've been watching it.
- 17:29They have no running game. They have Swift, they have all
- 17:32these guys that they every year they have like 3 or 4 running
- 17:34backs and none of them, none of them show up.
- 17:37And you would think that Ben Johnson being the offensive mind
- 17:39that he is, he'll get these guys to play and they just have not
- 17:43run the ball very, very well. It's crazy what Ben Johnson has
- 17:47done. You had Gibbs, you have
- 17:48Montgomery. You look at the explosive team
- 17:50that the Lions have been over the years and then they have
- 17:53Swift. They have all these different
- 17:54guys and I'm like, why aren't they?
- 17:56Why aren't they doing the same thing they were doing over there
- 17:59with the Lion? I don't understand it.
- 18:01I don't get it. I just.
- 18:01Don't think that they have the person like I think the Bears
- 18:04would love to have David Montgomery right now and DeAndre
- 18:06Swift, like have him back. Like I just they don't have from
- 18:10a running perspective, I think you're right, Errol, like they
- 18:12don't have that level of what he's used to and having that
- 18:16level of running game. I know that that Dan Campbell
- 18:19and company in the in the hierarchy there in Detroit got a
- 18:21little bit of Flack when they drafted Jameer Gibbs as high as
- 18:24they did as a running back. But it's worked out really well
- 18:27And it sort of transforms their offense into what they can do
- 18:30with David Montgomery. And like you said, they just
- 18:32don't have that in Chicago. And I I really feel like that's
- 18:35hurting their offense. And Caleb Love just looks a
- 18:40little bit shaky right now. And, you know, it's just, I
- 18:43don't know, it's just to me, it's Caleb Williams.
- 18:46Sorry. Caleb Love.
- 18:47My gosh, I'm thinking of Jordan. Caleb Williams looks a little
- 18:51bit shaky there over the first two weeks.
- 18:53Caleb Williams. Caleb love I.
- 18:54I don't know what's going on with Caleb Williams, but he
- 18:57needs to learn how to shut his mouth because he's getting
- 18:59himself into trouble. I I heard recently, I don't know
- 19:03if you heard this, that before the season started, he was in
- 19:07the quarterback room and one of the coaches told him to sit down
- 19:10and sit and watch film with them.
- 19:13And he says I don't need to watch film.
- 19:14And he walked out on them and he pissed off a lot of people,
- 19:17including the other two quarterbacks that were in the
- 19:19room with him. I don't know if the story is
- 19:21true, but I heard from two people that work with the Bears
- 19:25that right for the Bears said that that that story is true.
- 19:27If that's true, and Ben Johnson has no control of Kayla Williams
- 19:30right now, there's going to be a problem moving forward in the
- 19:33regular season. Yeah, there definitely is.
- 19:35And and I, I don't know job. I know you played for a while
- 19:39with the Yankees, and I'm not asking you to name any names,
- 19:41but like, have you ever experienced anything like that
- 19:44at the Major League level with anybody that you played at?
- 19:46That was like, you know, I like, I don't really need to watch
- 19:49this or I don't need to do this or that.
- 19:51The other thing. Not really.
- 19:54I don't know if you guys saw it too, but did you see Blake
- 19:57Lawrence wave off Liam Cohen too when he was yelling at him from
- 20:00the sideline too? So it's funny that you bring it
- 20:03up. It's just.
- 20:04When you let it get to that and great.
- 20:06I I honestly I can't say that. Yeah.
- 20:10Trevor Lawrence play. Oh yeah, whatever.
- 20:12Thanks. We're just.
- 20:12Screwing up the words all over the place.
- 20:14Yeah. It's fine.
- 20:15Words are hearts and. Times I know it's a Monday, you
- 20:18know, we got the Mondays, but I don't think I've ever it hasn't
- 20:23been so blatant where it's just like, I don't need to watch this
- 20:27or I you know, I just I'm not going to.
- 20:31And especially for somebody that hasn't solidified who they are
- 20:34and doesn't necessarily like now, if you've got some tenure
- 20:37and you've got some time where there's a right way to go about
- 20:40it and a wrong way to go about it, it's like, yeah, it just
- 20:43fine. But I don't, I don't think he's
- 20:45earned that yet to be able to kind of, you know, act in a
- 20:49manner that you kind of just you nod your head and you're like, I
- 20:53don't really know if that's and, and it could be obviously you're
- 20:56the number one guy and you've got, you know, QB 2:00 and 3:00,
- 20:59but they may be vets too that, you know, are just like, hey,
- 21:02just come in and do your job because it can change quick.
- 21:05So I've never ran into that. I, I wasn't a huge like go back
- 21:10and video guy, like stay on top of it and do all that.
- 21:13But like when Bush comes to shove, it's like, hey, that's
- 21:17part of let's let's get in, let's figure it out.
- 21:19Let's, let's see what we can get better at.
- 21:21But not just blatantly or just, I mean, like it is, it's
- 21:24hearsay. We don't know.
- 21:25But I don't, I don't think I've ran into anybody where it's just
- 21:28like now I'm good and just kind of like turn and walk away and
- 21:32do your own thing. It's like you're you're never
- 21:34bigger than your sport. You're never bigger than your
- 21:35team. I'll say that.
- 21:37Tell that to Aaron Rodgers, because I've heard stories about
- 21:39him showing up to. Aaron Rodgers can do whatever he
- 21:43wants. That's true.
- 21:45I'm just saying he's one of those guys.
- 21:47A lot of people I hear. But really, if you're in that
- 21:50quarterback room and Aaron Rodgers does something, there's
- 21:53nothing you can say to. Him.
- 21:54No, I'm not. I'm saying that Caleb Williams,
- 21:57when they're comparing his skills to a player, they compare
- 22:00it to Aaron Rodgers. And you can compare our U1 until
- 22:03he's got MVPS and championships. He can stick it where the sun
- 22:06don't show well. Caleb Williams is only two years
- 22:08and so we don't know and he's had two coaches already and and
- 22:12he will. Never touch Aaron Rodgers.
- 22:14I, I, no, we don't know that. You can't say that because a lot
- 22:16of people, a lot of people said that about Jordan Long.
- 22:19You say a lot of things on this show like people are going to be
- 22:21in and out of the NFL and whatever, and I say one thing
- 22:25and well, we don't know that yet.
- 22:26Relax here. I've been pretty right about
- 22:28Travis Hunter. I've been pretty right about a
- 22:30lot of guys is that I've said that I don't think they're going
- 22:34to amount to anything. So I'm just saying, K, you
- 22:37cannot you cannot consider to think.
- 22:40You can't think that Caleb believe can't turn it around.
- 22:43He's got a coach. He they need to put weapons.
- 22:45Well, he has weapons around it, but they need to put the right
- 22:48running game around him where he can do things in the open field
- 22:52that guys like Aaron Rodgers remember Aaron Rodgers was he
- 22:55really transformed the quarterback position.
- 22:57He really was. Now, I'm not saying he was
- 23:00mobile one, because Randall Cunningham was a mobile
- 23:02quarterback, so was Warren Moon. There were a lot of good running
- 23:05quarterbacks, Steve McNair. But Aaron Rodgers really
- 23:08redefined that quarterback position when he moved out of
- 23:12the pocket, made throws on the run and did the things that he
- 23:15did as a successful quarterback. I'm not saying Caleb Williams is
- 23:19Aaron Rodgers, but they have said that there's a lot of
- 23:22comparisons to each other, that Caleb Williams could become the
- 23:26next Aaron Rodgers. Well, only time will tell.
- 23:28I've never heard anybody say that.
- 23:30I really don't hope that Caleb Kayla Williams turns into that,
- 23:33but obviously he's got a lot of talent.
- 23:35Did you watch him? Did you watch Kayla Williams
- 23:37play for USA? Oh, yeah, His final year before
- 23:41his crybaby antics. You know, on the field, there
- 23:44were a lot of broadcasters that said they were comparing him.
- 23:47They had video of Aaron Rodgers when he played for Gal and him
- 23:51playing for USC and what they do in the field, how they move
- 23:54inside and out of the pocket, how they use their legs to get
- 23:57away from players and make throws.
- 23:59They compared his skill and the way he plays to Aaron Rodgers.
- 24:03That's what a lot of those guys in in college.
- 24:05Now that's college football. The NFL is a lot faster.
- 24:08It's a lot different when you see the field, how fast it is.
- 24:12So I, I understand what you're saying.
- 24:14I know you never heard it, but I, I, there were a lot of guys
- 24:16speeding. How many guys we have on the
- 24:18show that said that if there's a comparison, you know, figure to
- 24:22Caleb Williams, who was Aaron Rodgers.
- 24:24So I'm not, I'm not saying that he's going to become Aaron
- 24:27Rodgers. I'm just saying his skill and
- 24:30the way he plays the game is comparable to Aaron Rodgers.
- 24:33That's all I'm saying. Yeah, a lot of people were.
- 24:35At the time were saying it was like the closest thing to it.
- 24:37Yeah, yeah. I know what you guys thought
- 24:39about. I got you.
- 24:40Yeah, so I want to shift to some baseball.
- 24:41Obviously, I'm a Mets fan. I know you're a Mets fan.
- 24:43So I was actually there on Saturday when they blew another
- 24:462O lead and the bull then blew it again.
- 24:48And obviously it looked like the trade deadline, looked like it
- 24:50was, on paper, very good. But Mullins have been horrible,
- 24:52Helsley has been horrible, and then they call up all three of
- 24:54their rookies within a span of less than a month.
- 24:56What are your thoughts to everything that's kind of want
- 24:58the Mets in the second-half? Man, it's just hard for the
- 25:00game. It's heartbreaking.
- 25:02Like it's just it's as a Met fan, it's just it's hard to
- 25:05watch right now. But the thing that I'm I'm
- 25:08holding out hope is that like you, you know this as well as I
- 25:12do that like the Mets got to drag you through some sort of
- 25:14like heartache or anguish or something like that before they
- 25:18give you a little bit of payoff. So I'm hoping that this they're
- 25:20just dragging us through the anguish here at the end of the
- 25:22regular season, you know, allowing the doubt to creep in,
- 25:26the misery to creep in, the doubt to creep in.
- 25:28And then they'll go on some sort of tear or run with these young
- 25:31pitchers into the postseason. Obviously, Noah McClain has been
- 25:36amazing, freaking awesome. Jonah Tong's been OK, and I like
- 25:40what I've seen a lot out of Sproat as well.
- 25:43And I was one of the guys that was like really pounding the
- 25:45table that, hey, we got to bring Sean Manaya back.
- 25:47I loved what he did and how he transformed himself last year.
- 25:50But honestly, over his last seven starts with over a 7 ERA
- 25:54has been just absolutely diabolical to this this pitching
- 25:58staff and obviously Scott I Sanga couldn't figure it out.
- 26:00David Peterson's print been pretty steady.
- 26:03And then Clay Holmes has actually been probably as good,
- 26:05if not better than you could have expected going from a
- 26:08reliever to his starter at this point as well.
- 26:11And I know that they're going to have Clay Holmes start this next
- 26:13game and then Sean and I is going to kind of piggyback him
- 26:15coming out of the out of the bullpen.
- 26:17So I am cautiously optimistic that this team will make the
- 26:21playoffs. They'll hold off the Giants and
- 26:24they'll hold off the Diamondbacks and they'll hold
- 26:27off the Cincinnati Reds. Because if they don't, boys,
- 26:30this is going to be one for the ages.
- 26:32And I was, I was there in the last day of Shea when they fell
- 26:35to the Marlins and completed that incredible collapse in
- 26:382008. And it was just an absolute
- 26:41miserable feeling. It would be very reminiscent and
- 26:44very similar to that, especially after going out there and
- 26:47getting Juan Soto. And I know you guys talked about
- 26:50how great Juan Soto's been and his numbers have been fantastic.
- 26:53And look, I know his feeling is what it is.
- 26:55It's fine. His base running has been as
- 26:57good as it's ever been. Thank you, Antoine Richardson.
- 27:00But the one thing that I wonder about, and I wanted to ask you
- 27:03guys this as well, if you've noticed it, you know, how the
- 27:05Mets do that celebration where they kind of flip and, you know,
- 27:07kind of do one of these numbers. I have not seen really Juan Soto
- 27:11doing that. And I'm wondering how that is
- 27:15maybe affecting the culture there in the clubhouse a little
- 27:18bit within the Mets. Like I know he just got the
- 27:21biggest payday and he doesn't do the same celebration as
- 27:23everybody. It's, you know, it's just one of
- 27:25these to the to the outfield and and when he crosses home plate.
- 27:28So I've been kind of wondering that am I like overblowing this
- 27:32that like maybe he's not the biggest team guy now that he's
- 27:34got all this money and is that sort of a detriment?
- 27:36Like, what do you guys think about that when it comes to Juan
- 27:39Soto? I think there's a little bit of
- 27:41that, like in the beginning of the season, I think it kind of
- 27:43got overblown now, like, oh, he's not celebrating.
- 27:45Like he celebrated with the Yankees and stuff like that too.
- 27:47I think it's also like there's a lot of new guys all at.
- 27:49Once that's coming from a Mets fan, that's coming from a guy
- 27:52that's rooting for the Mets just like you.
- 27:54What I see is he's not the Ultimate Team player.
- 27:56We've heard this before about Juan Soto.
- 27:59He is not a team player. He's a me player.
- 28:01We've seen that. Remember the All Star game,
- 28:03Remember he he didn't get, he didn't get picked by the fans to
- 28:06go to the All Star game and he was sitting there and he was
- 28:08like it's $100,000. I mean, honest, I understand
- 28:12it's $100,000. This guy is making $700 million
- 28:16and he's going out there and says who doesn't want to make
- 28:18extra $100,000? That to me that just tells me
- 28:21what Juan Soto is all about. He's not about the team.
- 28:24It's my numbers, what I'm doing. If I make the playoffs, I'm the
- 28:28reason why why we make the playoffs.
- 28:30Lynn doors the captain. He's the leader of this team.
- 28:32And then you have this guy, selfish as he is, hidden home
- 28:35runs, running around, stealing bases.
- 28:38But here's the problem. Is he the ultimate guy that's
- 28:41going to get them to the promised land?
- 28:43And again, if they fall short, are the are fans going to go out
- 28:48in there and say, yeah, he's putting up the numbers, but he
- 28:50is not a team player. Do we want him on this team?
- 28:53But we want him on our roster, no matter how great he is.
- 28:56Carlos Beltran was a great player.
- 28:58Say whatever you want about him. He was a team player.
- 29:02That's what he was as good as all the guys, Reyes and Wright
- 29:06and all the guys that he played with.
- 29:07He was all about the team. This man is not about the team.
- 29:11He's about himself. And that, my my friends, is not
- 29:15what's going to win you championships.
- 29:17The Yankees didn't win a championship last year with Juan
- 29:19Soto. They went to the World Series
- 29:20but couldn't get over the hump. That is the problem, guys.
- 29:23That, I think, is the problem right now with the New York
- 29:25Mets, as good as Juan Soto is. And that's what I was kind of
- 29:28getting at. I'm like, look, like it just
- 29:30doesn't they don't, they don't have and you guys, again,
- 29:32correct me if I'm wrong in in this as well, like speedy that
- 29:35like it's just that they don't feel like they have the same
- 29:38sort of magic that they had last year, that same camaraderie.
- 29:41And I know, look, it's it's great to go out there and get an
- 29:43amazing player and things like that.
- 29:45But I think Errol, I think you have a really good point of he
- 29:48just doesn't seem like the Ultimate Team player that like,
- 29:51hey, like he's going to be like super disappointed.
- 29:53Like you saw like after the Yankees got eliminated and we
- 29:55asked him about like, you know, where he might go.
- 29:58He's like, well, you know, my open basically, you know, make
- 30:02me an offer basically. So yeah, I get it.
- 30:05Like I'm not going to sit here and say like, I'm disappointed
- 30:07that we signed Juan Soto. Like I love that we've signed
- 30:09Juan Soto. I love that what he brings as a
- 30:11player. He's an incredible baseball
- 30:12player, but I'm just a little leery that like he is not like
- 30:16you said, Errol the the biggest team guy.
- 30:19And I feel like that might be sort of affecting some of the
- 30:21chemistry. Maybe it was much to do about
- 30:24nothing early, but maybe it's sort of permeated itself a
- 30:27little bit through. Oh, I like that through the team
- 30:29permeate. Thank you.
- 30:30Thank. You OK, baby?
- 30:32We've got Greg Larnert's vocabulary.
- 30:35Let's have a vocabulary show with Greg.
- 30:37We'll call it Greg's vocabulary. All right, go.
- 30:40Ahead the word of the day with the word with G.
- 30:43As we all say, yes. This dauber in the dirt?
- 30:46No. Oh, God.
- 30:48Here we go. Just you've been pretty good
- 30:51with the soundboard. Hold on.
- 30:52Just he tastes himself through. Oh, here we go.
- 30:56Now, once he starts, he's like a little kid.
- 30:57Don't touch. Don't touch.
- 30:58I'm not touching you. I'm not touching you.
- 31:00I'm not touching you. No.
- 31:03Yeah. I mean, you can't.
- 31:04There's the Soto thing. I'm a Braves fan, so I've been
- 31:08miserable. You know, obviously the Yankees
- 31:10been a huge part of my life and and obviously always will be.
- 31:13But growing up in Nebraska, we got to watch the Braves.
- 31:15So the Braves have been been a struggle fest.
- 31:17So I kind of just left them to the side.
- 31:19But yeah, it's just knowing playing with Frankie and and
- 31:23knowing him and then, you know, just his personality.
- 31:25And especially when you get New York and and it's it's it's
- 31:28different. I never wore a Mets uniform.
- 31:30So I don't know. But I know what goes into to
- 31:32wear in a New York uniform. And when you go and especially
- 31:36with with the seven mills, like let's be serious.
- 31:39Like it's there's other things that come with it and you know,
- 31:44it's he wasn't doing it at 1st. And you guys, I think really,
- 31:48really touched on it where at first, at the beginning you're
- 31:51like, what do you expect from this?
- 31:52Because a guy coming in, yes, we all know who you are, everybody
- 31:55knows who you are when you sign a deal like that, you obviously,
- 31:58you know, are a huge part of this league to get a deal like
- 32:00that and and be that next thing. And we've seen what it is.
- 32:05But it's like, how do you how do you take in the clubhouse
- 32:06dynamic? Like how, how are you the
- 32:09leader? Are you just one of those guys
- 32:10that sit back and like just kind of, you know, let me just take
- 32:13this in and see where I fit in because we do, we have Pete
- 32:16Alonso, we've got Frankie, we've got guys that have obviously
- 32:19been here and can do it. Are you going to take his
- 32:22production all day, every day? I don't care if, if he does
- 32:25whatever he wants and isn't, but if he's, if he's getting us WS
- 32:29and and it's, it's one thing where it's like you play with a
- 32:33lot of guys where the dude's an asshole when you play against
- 32:36him, but he's on your team, you love him.
- 32:38And it that could be the case, you know, and then we've all
- 32:40heard stories of, of guys like that.
- 32:43I've, I've played with people like that.
- 32:44And but when it comes down to it, it's like if you win games
- 32:49and which they haven't done a very good job of lately.
- 32:51Sorry fellas. And it's just, it's they're
- 32:55finding every which way to lose to which is, is crazy.
- 32:58Like it's not just like one just way to lose.
- 33:01Yeah, the bullpens been a little bit whatever, but it's just,
- 33:04it's kind of been all over the place.
- 33:05Like, you know, I the young kids all coming up at once is a lot
- 33:11and we, we talk about this and like they're so dumb.
- 33:14Sometimes it's a great thing to have because they're like, oh,
- 33:17OK, they didn't expect. And then other times it's like,
- 33:20I'm young. I got to be, you know, I got to
- 33:21step up. I got to try and do more than
- 33:23then what got me here. And that's when you kind of get
- 33:25in trouble. So there's not much time left to
- 33:27figure it out. They're holding on.
- 33:30They're they haven't they haven't drowned yet, but the the
- 33:33waiting in of the water is definitely getting heavy.
- 33:36So it it'll be I love September baseball because the most
- 33:40dangerous teams to play are some of the teams you would never
- 33:43think about because they're already out of it.
- 33:45So they want to ruin somebody's season.
- 33:46Like, Hey, we're going to play you.
- 33:47And then when you're fighting and knowing you're trying to get
- 33:49it. And I don't know the exact end
- 33:51of the Mets schedule, but you know, sometimes those are the
- 33:55toughest. You know, last couple weeks you
- 33:57got of the season to see really kind of like, hey, are these
- 34:00teams here to ruin our season or we got a battle?
- 34:03And then you kind of just got to like put your nose to the grind
- 34:05and be like, all right, we can't worry about who we're playing or
- 34:09whatever. We've got to go and get to work
- 34:11and we've got to win. So it'll be interesting to see
- 34:14how this ends up. It could there could be some.
- 34:17There's crazy to think that 500 teams are still in it with the
- 34:19second wild card. It it makes it so much more fun
- 34:22to actually like these games matter now.
- 34:24And there's so many things with sports going on with with
- 34:27football and in the best time of baseball when you're getting in
- 34:31the playoffs and obviously just everything going on.
- 34:34So it's a good time for sports, like I've said before.
- 34:36But yeah, these last couple weeks are going to be
- 34:38interesting in in baseball for sure.
- 34:40I would love to see the Mets fall flat on their face, but I
- 34:43know Met fans don't want to hear that.
- 34:45But I I don't. There's going to be a, there's
- 34:47going to be a team that does. I don't root against the Mets.
- 34:49I, I, if the Yankees don't make the playoffs and the Mets make
- 34:52the playoffs, they're the little brother of the Yankees.
- 34:54But that right now the the problem right now with the New
- 34:58York Mets is I just don't see them together.
- 35:01I I think they're you got Pete Alonzo, who's been a big leader
- 35:05for this team. Lindor has been a big leader of
- 35:07this team. And then you have Juan Soto.
- 35:09I think he's a me player. And and it was a problem with
- 35:11the Yankees. Look, he could have stayed with
- 35:13the Yankees. He could have taken a little bit
- 35:15less money to stay with the Yankees.
- 35:16Instead, he took a little bit more because he didn't like how
- 35:19the Yankees quote, UN quote treated his family in the
- 35:22playoffs. That was the story that came
- 35:24out. Guys, That's all I'm saying.
- 35:26The problem with Juan Soto is, is he a prima Donna?
- 35:30He's a great player, but is he a prima Donna and is he a guy that
- 35:34I'm going to trust when it comes down to it as a team player?
- 35:38I don't think so. And and again, the Mets have
- 35:40good young talent. They got a great pitching squad.
- 35:42I really do think these kids, McClain and Tom, these guys are
- 35:46the future of this organization are if they make the playoffs,
- 35:49are you going to trust, and I, Greg, you know this, are you
- 35:52going to trust the youngsters when the going gets tough?
- 35:54Are you going to trust that they're going to be able to play
- 35:57pitch 6 or 7 innings and depend on that bullpen, which they gave
- 36:00up a lot, they put this bullpen together, they give up a lot to
- 36:04get these guys in there at the trade deadline and they really
- 36:07haven't done what they were supposed to do so.
- 36:09No, I'm, I'm excited. Look, they've got three against
- 36:12the Padres, 3 against Washington, three at Chicago
- 36:15with the Cubs, and then three as Speedy knows as being a Mets
- 36:18fan, like going to Miami and finishing the season with the
- 36:21Marlins is just as you said, Java like with these teams that
- 36:23are out of it. Like, it's just like a, it's
- 36:29just a bad tape. Like just they, that that series
- 36:31scares the living daylights out of me going against the Marlins
- 36:34in Miami just because of what the Marlins have done to us in
- 36:37the past and ruining our season and whatnot.
- 36:39And I'm again, I'm hopeful that the Mets don't fall flat on
- 36:43their faces. The other teams that are in
- 36:45contention also have very tough roads to hoe.
- 36:49Like we're looking at the Giants.
- 36:51They've got three at Arizona, three at La with the Dodgers,
- 36:54three verse Saint Louis and then they end with a cupcake with the
- 36:57Rockies, three against the Rockies at home.
- 37:00Arizona's got the diamond, excuse me, got the Giants.
- 37:02They've got the, you know, Philly at home, then they've got
- 37:05the the Dodgers. And then they got to go to San
- 37:07Diego with the Padres. The Reds have Saint Louis,
- 37:09Chicago, Pittsburgh and then end at Milwaukee.
- 37:11So, you know, they've all got, you know, different hurdles
- 37:15here. But the Mets, look, they control
- 37:17their own destiny. They're still the team in that
- 37:19number three spot in the wild card.
- 37:21They've just got to handle their business and don't worry about
- 37:23anything else. It's not going to be easy.
- 37:25But again, I'm hoping as a true in true Mets fashion, they'll
- 37:28make us suffer for a little while and then they'll just
- 37:31they'll they'll play well when it matters the most in the post
- 37:33season. They'll find a way.
- 37:34The young cats will do their job.
- 37:36Everything will sort of come together.
- 37:38These things have not been great out there in the bullpen.
- 37:41And Jabba, by the way, I do not feel bad for you as a Braves fan
- 37:44with all of the winning and all of the things that you've gotten
- 37:46to experience growing up as well.
- 37:49It's. Well, a lot of divisions.
- 37:51Only one World Series. Yes, you're right, but I mean
- 37:54for me growing up, like they won fourteen straight now, you know,
- 37:56National League champion, National League championships.
- 37:58And to me it's like like I just I cannot stand the Braves with
- 38:02all of the winning. And I get it.
- 38:03They haven't had any World Series, but hey, I would take
- 38:05one World Series. I in my lifetime, I've seen
- 38:07every single team win a a World Series from the NL East, and
- 38:12that includes the Marlins twice. Except, yeah, that's that is
- 38:15tough when you got a dude that is so good he names one of his
- 38:18kids after one of your stadiums. Yeah, it's miserable.
- 38:22Which we're we're working on getting on the show at Chipper
- 38:24Jones, who has been has been, has been hunting for the last
- 38:29year. I just talked to him last week.
- 38:34I'm just messing around, man I, I love getting if you listen and
- 38:38Greg, I know you tune in here and there.
- 38:40I, I know I love getting under Jabba's under his skin all the
- 38:45time on the show. So anyways, Greg, we love you
- 38:48keep up the good work and we will talk to you soon.
- 38:51Let's get you on. When the playoffs starts, we'll
- 38:54have like a, we'll have like a bracket of guys and we can.
- 38:57Kind of go through the playoffs. And see where we think the
- 39:00playoffs are going to, you know, slowly but shortly fall
- 39:04together. So it's crazy.
- 39:06I hope I, I, I really hope the Yankees don't make the playoffs.
- 39:09I, I am a Yankee fan. I don't, I just, I, I don't want
- 39:12to see this to be terrorized in the first wild card.
- 39:16You know, it doesn't matter because they're not winning the
- 39:18division. The first wild card playoff
- 39:20series where they get knocked out by, I don't know, the Boston
- 39:24Red Sox. That would be horrible to watch.
- 39:26Let me tell you as a Yankee fan. So anyways, Greg, keep up the
- 39:30good work bud. Thanks boys, great to be back on
- 39:32with you. Yeah, anytime you all need me
- 39:34just let me know. And love, love joining and job.
- 39:37It was great to meet you, bud. Nice to meet you too as well
- 39:39bro. Good luck in North Alabama.
- 39:41Thank you. Yeah, thank you.
- 39:42It's been, it's been pretty cool being down here.
- 39:44The girls are pretty awesome. But Alabama, No, trust me, it
- 39:48was it was weird. I'd I never thought I would ever
- 39:51live in Alabama, but opportunity was too good.
- 39:54When opportunity knocks, we got to answer that door right.
- 39:56I agree. I agree and you do good.
- 39:58Such a great job of what you do. So I and I don't blame you.
- 40:01I don't blame you going to Alabama where the money is.
- 40:04That's where you jump, baby. That's right, volunteer.
- 40:07Going from a volunteer to a paid coach is pretty damn awesome.
- 40:10Johnny Manziel, baby. Johnny Manziel.
- 40:13There you go. One of our better guys, one of
- 40:15our better jobs. Last year was actually in
- 40:17Alabama, but he was like, oh, I got to see all those nice
- 40:19college college girls. Yeah.
- 40:23Easy bro, like don't get him in trouble before it really gets
- 40:26gone. Speedy of Speedy of old people
- 40:28should not. Speedy shouldn't be talking
- 40:30about girls because he doesn't clean in the areas you should be
- 40:34cleaning, if you know what I mean.
- 40:35Anyways, Greg, we love you. We love.
- 40:37You love you guys. Thank you.
- 40:39Enjoy the rest of the show. Greg Larnard, he's fantastic.
- 40:42He's doing so many great things over there in Alabama.
- 40:45It is it's cool. It's really, really cool
- 40:47watching this guy just grow into, you know, one of these
- 40:51broadcasters and jumping from one city to another city to
- 40:53another city and, and, and achieve all his goals.
- 40:56So congratulations to him. I didn't know he was in Alabama,
- 40:59but the last time I remember he was in Louisiana, so and he was
- 41:04doing some big things over there with ESPN.
- 41:05Ladies and gentlemen, Speedy Stat of the week.
- 41:09The speedy well you may run like me, but you hit like stat of the
- 41:16week. Doo Doo all.
- 41:19Right, here we go, and we're going to do this every week at
- 41:22the. End My rear end is burning.
- 41:24Speedy, what is your stat of the week?
- 41:28Well, I am going to reward the Savior Tears champion Errol Marx
- 41:32by talking about his favorite quarterback and that is Daniel
- 41:36Jones, 16 for 25 for 265 yards against the blitz with the
- 41:42Broncos, which since the Next Gen.
- 41:45Stats generation in 2016, he has the most fourth most passing
- 41:49yards against five or more pass rushers.
- 41:52So against any blitz packages in a game since 2016 and the
- 41:57defensive matchups that he's facing with the Denver Broncos
- 42:00was the highest rated defense EPA wise from the previous
- 42:03season. And Daniel Jones 265 yards, 16
- 42:06of 25 passing against that level of a blitz for the Denver
- 42:09Broncos. So his role.
- 42:12With the Colts. Continues to get my stat of the
- 42:14week and I know that morning Yankees jersey is pretty happy
- 42:18about that. I'll, I'll use it for the NFL
- 42:20whip around, Don't you worry. I got a lot to say about it.
- 42:23But I I had a feeling you would. I've got some thoughts as well.
- 42:27So why don't we get right into it?
- 42:30If that's the case, Hit the whip around.
- 42:34Jabba takes it up the ass, let's do it.
- 42:39Whip, whip, whip around. Fish wears panties.
- 42:45You always wish that was true. It's just I didn't say it.
- 42:48How was it me? I'd said.
- 42:49It see, but that panties is such it's such a like.
- 42:53Is it a thong AG string? Granny's theory panties?
- 42:56Like what's he featuring? I feel like granny panties
- 43:00probably are comfortable I would guess.
- 43:03Granny panties. So you're wearing granny
- 43:05panties. Is that what you're?
- 43:06Saying no I wouldn't. I'm just saying if I had to wear
- 43:08one, those would be the most comfortable ones.
- 43:10You're probably right. I mean, I've seen some of the
- 43:13ugliest granny panties in my lifetime.
- 43:15Let me tell you, I and, and some of the biggest ones, I some of
- 43:19these granny panties could be parachutes.
- 43:21That's that's what. Size women?
- 43:23Are you talking about granny panties?
- 43:26Could be parachutes. I've seen them, yeah.
- 43:28There are big women out there, man.
- 43:30I'm not saying I know, I know big women need love too, but you
- 43:34just hanging out with their draws.
- 43:36I didn't say I was hanging out with them.
- 43:37I'm just telling you I've seen them, so I didn't say I was
- 43:40hanging. Out with.
- 43:41Them. I've seen them, I stink too.
- 43:43What is it from? Road trip?
- 43:44What'd you do, kill a cheetah? Beluga whales.
- 43:47I see a movie. Excellent.
- 43:49Very underrated. Very underrated movie.
- 43:52DJ Qualls, I believe. Now let's start off the whip
- 43:55around with the Super Bowl rematch, right?
- 43:59We have to start there. Eagles defeat the Chiefs 20 to
- 44:0317. The referees couldn't assist the
- 44:06Chiefs enough to get them to win in this one.
- 44:09Usually it's the Chiefs by a field goal.
- 44:12It was the Eagles this time. Let's take a look at some of the
- 44:14stats. Saquon Barkley 22 of 88 for a
- 44:16touchdown. Another few yards on the
- 44:19receiving. Not a lot of passing in this
- 44:21game at all. Jalen Hurts only 101 yards
- 44:24passing. Patrick Mahomes 187, a touchdown
- 44:27in a pick. He also ran one in.
- 44:29Mahomes was very active running 7 carries 66 yards.
- 44:33Jalen Hurts got a touchdown on a Toshi push.
- 44:35I'm sure you're not surprised. A lot of people complaining
- 44:38about the Tish push by the way they were actually caught the
- 44:41Eagles in this game. False starting every member of
- 44:45the offensive line except for the center.
- 44:47Very interesting to do that because that's clearly
- 44:51intentional where they tell them it's going to go on one but
- 44:54center slightly delay it so that they can get the jump.
- 44:57That might be part of the trick of how they've been doing it all
- 45:00along, and I and then some referees let some.
- 45:03Of it did you see the did you see the picture fish the picture
- 45:06from overhead how like that delay and you see you see them
- 45:10both go. One time it happened one time in
- 45:14the game. Stop.
- 45:15It was the important part of the game.
- 45:16It was at the tail end of the game and it cost maybe the
- 45:20Kansas City Chiefs to getting the ball again.
- 45:21But to sit here and say that happens all the time is
- 45:24ridiculous. Watch the game.
- 45:26Guys. If you ain't cheating, you're
- 45:27not trying, right? Yeah.
- 45:29I guess so when they say false start, everybody brought the
- 45:32center is the best referee. Call.
- 45:33I got the bubble gums. I mean, but that's what you got
- 45:35to do. I mean, that's a smart, it's a
- 45:37clever maneuver, but it's like a Belichick type cheating thing in
- 45:40my opinion. Obviously didn't really matter.
- 45:44The thing is this game was not so close only a few months ago
- 45:49and now it's a 3 point game. No, no, it's that's for real.
- 45:53And I think the Eagles have kind of started the season off a
- 45:56little slowly, a little bit of it.
- 45:57They're winning, but this doesn't look like that
- 46:00juggernaut that we may have I. Disagree.
- 46:02Going to super. Bowl, I'm going to tell you why.
- 46:04First of all, the Eagles defense, they didn't have Jalen
- 46:06Carter in game #1 so we don't know what would have happened in
- 46:09that game. Maybe they dominate the line of
- 46:11scrimmage and Williams doesn't run the ball in two times.
- 46:15So I, I don't know if I'm I'm going to go in that level.
- 46:18But yeah, first of all, I played in Kansas City.
- 46:21KS City is a very good team at home.
- 46:24They didn't play in Philadelphia.
- 46:25They didn't play where the fans are just as loud as the Kansas
- 46:29City fans. So stop that.
- 46:31Kelsey made a mistake which probably cost him the game.
- 46:34They had a chance to win the game.
- 46:35He catches the ball and he bobbles the ball and the Eagles
- 46:39intercept it. They run it all the way to the
- 46:4140 or 45 yard line and that pretty much ended the game as
- 46:44far as I'm concerned. Here's the problem.
- 46:47The Eagles are just a good running team.
- 46:50Jalen Hurts can run the ball. Sacrum Barkley can run the ball.
- 46:54Now they have Shipley. They have so many guys that can
- 46:56run the ball. They have weapons all over the
- 46:58field. And here's the thing, they had a
- 47:00chance to stop Smith and they gun the ball down the field.
- 47:03Jalen Hurts threw the ball down the field and all he had to do,
- 47:07and I'm not going to mention the what the the the corner that
- 47:10needed to turn his body around. He could have intercepted the
- 47:13ball. He didn't turn his body around
- 47:15and Devante Smith caught the ball on what the five yard line
- 47:19just in. There were parts of the game
- 47:21that Kansas City had to show up in and they didn't.
- 47:24As far as I'm concerned, three points disagree.
- 47:27I think the Eagles are that much better than the Kansas City
- 47:29Chiefs. Kansas City just doesn't have
- 47:31enough weapons. They're older.
- 47:34And and by the way, Simmons running down the field the way
- 47:37he did in the game to stop a touchdown, an interception was
- 47:41sensational. I was probably the most
- 47:43sensational thing I saw when it came to Kansas City was the
- 47:47offensive tackle running down the guy that intercepted the
- 47:50ball. I don't remember who intercepted
- 47:51the ball. That was the most amazing thing
- 47:53for Kansas City. As far as I'm concerned, Kansas
- 47:56City is not really that good and you're going to see as the
- 47:59season progressively moves forward, they can have problems
- 48:01with the Chargers all season long in that division.
- 48:04The Broncos still we haven't seen the best of the Broncos
- 48:07yet, especially losing against yes, Daniel Jones and my second
- 48:13or third favorite team because I got a roof for Daniel Jones now
- 48:16because everybody hates on him, but I I think it I I don't think
- 48:20Kansas City is any good so. Yeah, the the Chiefs defense,
- 48:23you knew they would probably play better than they did last
- 48:24week as they struggled against the charters offensive skill
- 48:26players, which on paper, I mean, live Mcconkey is pretty good.
- 48:29Like they have some decent ones, but like it's not like something
- 48:31you would be afraid of. But obviously between that and
- 48:34then game playing with the Super Bowl the way they did, you knew
- 48:36St. Cuomo was going to play better,
- 48:37but collectively the passing game was going to be bad.
- 48:39And I don't think the Eagles passing game is right completely
- 48:41sharp right now. A.J.
- 48:42Brown especially has struggled to start the year, but Jalen
- 48:45Hurts is still smart. He's not turning the ball over
- 48:46and they're doing a lot of good things.
- 48:48Patrick Mahomes, on the other hand, very questionable decision
- 48:50making that game that you don't usually see it.
- 48:52I am. Yeah, well, the decision making
- 48:59should have started with Travis Kelce.
- 49:00He's fit before the game. That shit was terrible.
- 49:05But no, it was, it was a weird game for me.
- 49:08Like, and I think Errol, we, I think you touched on this like
- 49:11right at the beginning. They're the signs of them
- 49:13getting old is really, really showing.
- 49:15And you saw some frustration out of Kelsey too, when he when he
- 49:18slammed his helmet. But yeah, I, I think, you know,
- 49:21they're oh, and two, I mean, and that's the first first time
- 49:26since what, like 14? It was the second year that that
- 49:28Reed was the head coach. So but I mean, really, when it
- 49:31comes down to it, they'll they'll figure it out.
- 49:34It's it's just they are they are showing signs of getting old for
- 49:38sure. And also too is that is you got
- 49:41to think too with, with Kelsey and, and certain aspects is
- 49:45like, is his head 100% embedded in football at this point with
- 49:49the deals that he's been doing and, and all the other stuff
- 49:52that's, you know, there's, there's a lot more going on in
- 49:55his life than than what football to be.
- 49:57And that I mean, it's, it's not, it's not talking crap.
- 50:00It's just kind of the way it is. He's a Swifty.
- 50:02He's a Swifty, that's what he is.
- 50:04Yeah. Well, yeah, you get that.
- 50:05And, you know, obviously the tush push is, you know, led by a
- 50:08guy from Nebraska. Learn from obviously the best
- 50:10and, you know, and and Jason Kelsey and what they did.
- 50:14But yeah, it's, it's funny, like, and I don't know if we've
- 50:19ever talked about this, but you, you see it all the time.
- 50:21Do you think it should be banned because people like the Tush
- 50:24push should be? There no, no.
- 50:26And everybody says it's a rugby play, get out of here.
- 50:29It's a quarterback sneak. They just do it in a different
- 50:32way. Stop complaining about it.
- 50:33Stop them. It is a rugby play, but the NFL
- 50:37has become a lot safer since they introduced a rugby tackle
- 50:39where the head doesn't go across the body.
- 50:41So I don't think that's necessarily a bad play myself,
- 50:44although it doesn't look like what we used to see football
- 50:47look like, some people are against it.
- 50:49Let's get into the next set of games here for the whip around.
- 50:54I've got the Thursday game, which was the Packers beating
- 50:57the Commanders 27 to 18 and the game that we talked a little bit
- 51:02about with our last guest, Lions and Bears.
- 51:05The lions annihilate the Bears 52 to 21 and wasn't even that
- 51:11close that those a lot of those points were garbage time points.
- 51:15So obviously getting into the the Thursday game was a little
- 51:19while ago now. Jaden Daniels is injured.
- 51:21He's got a slight knee sprain. He's they're making it seem like
- 51:25he's week to week that it might not be that bad, but there's a
- 51:29chance he doesn't play this week.
- 51:31He was average in this game for him. 2440 two, 200 yards, 2
- 51:35touchdowns, 7 of 77 carries, 17 yards rushing, nothing special.
- 51:40Longest run was 8 yards. Zacker, it's another touchdown.
- 51:44Devo Samuel, another touchdown. But the Packers, they're good
- 51:48man. Jordan Love 292, two touchdowns,
- 51:5219 of 31. Josh Jacobs, still one of the
- 51:55best running backs in the game, 84 yards in a touchdown.
- 51:58Tucker Craft, tight end, 6 for 1:24 in a touchdown at the tight
- 52:03end position. Nobody was taking him in the top
- 52:06five tight ends in fantasy this year and it's pretty obvious
- 52:09he's going to be 1. All right, the Packers lost
- 52:13Jaden Reed. He broke his collarbone.
- 52:15That could hurt him. They do bring Christian Watson
- 52:18back. So we'll see how that all works
- 52:20out because Christian Watson can't stay healthy.
- 52:22And we haven't seen enough of Matthew Golden to know that he
- 52:24could be a number one guy. Now he's got breakout speed.
- 52:27We understand that. And Jacobs is sensational.
- 52:29And we all know what Jordan Love is.
- 52:31I, I, I again, this defense is great, but they haven't really
- 52:35been challenged. Who who've they played?
- 52:37The Commanders are going into their second year.
- 52:40I think there's a little bit of deficiencies on their defensive
- 52:42side of the ball. They haven't been as good
- 52:44defensively as they were last year.
- 52:46So I'll have to see as the season moves forward what they
- 52:49could be. And they also lose and the
- 52:51Commanders lose Eckler possibly for the year.
- 52:54So that's a big loss. Yeah, he's out for the year,
- 52:56official. Time.
- 52:58Yeah, and then there's the Lions.
- 53:00I'll say this. Jared Goff has had more 50 win,
- 53:0450 point wins than any quarterback in the last three
- 53:07years. It's pretty amazing.
- 53:09When Jared Goff was given up by Sean McVeigh, decided to part
- 53:13ways death, they won a Super Bowl after trading math for
- 53:17Matthew Stafford. But I think Jared Goff's been
- 53:19more successful than Matthew Stafford.
- 53:21And Jared Goff has been really healthy for the Lions.
- 53:25Now, he hasn't won a Super Bowl yet, but this has been one of
- 53:27the best offensive teams in all of football and it's been very
- 53:31fun to watch what this team could be when they play on all
- 53:34cylinders defensively and offensively, and this is the
- 53:37best offensive line in football. I don't think you could argue
- 53:39that when they're on, they're on.
- 53:40Penny Sewell is one of the best offensive lineman in football.
- 53:43The Bears. I don't know, I it's still a
- 53:47little early to see what this team is going to be this year,
- 53:49but you could see that Dan Campbell knew everything about
- 53:52Ben Johnson and what Ben Johnson likes to run and that's why they
- 53:55completely dominated the line of scrimmage.
- 53:57Not surprised with the Lions and what they did against the Bears
- 54:01in game #2. Yeah, going from the commander's
- 54:04standpoint too, I think you saw their offense be very stale as
- 54:07well. I think without having a really
- 54:09good pure runner, they're largely traded.
- 54:11Brian, second year, sophomore year for Janie Daniels.
- 54:13Yeah, I think Cliff Kingsbury, some of the play calling in that
- 54:15game was very. It seemed like it was bland.
- 54:17It was like like Kyla Murray's last year in Arizona when he
- 54:20really struggled. And you can't have that kind of
- 54:21thing if you're the commander is trying to take that leak because
- 54:23you said their defense is OK, but it's nothing special.
- 54:25Green Bay's defense is proving it could definitely play.
- 54:28They could they use a corner or two.
- 54:29Yeah, definitely need to figure out receiver though.
- 54:31That's going to be a big issue. Jayden reads their most
- 54:33consistent one, most well-rounded.
- 54:35As far as the Lions, you kind of knew their offense was going to
- 54:37play as bad as it did in Week 1. Chicago.
- 54:39I'm more actually more concerned about their defense and their
- 54:41offense. Their defense, maybe without
- 54:42ever flues being there and with Jaylen Johnson are hurt, is a
- 54:45mess. But look, look at the talent
- 54:47that they played against over the last two weeks.
- 54:49Wait until they play the lower class teams before we attack the
- 54:52Bears defense. The Bears are young and and
- 54:55again, they're trying to figure out what this team is and what
- 54:58their identity is. Their young coach, first time
- 55:01coach. Relax guys, relax.
- 55:06Yeah, no doubt. And I'm going to go to the
- 55:08second game first. I don't know if you guys saw
- 55:10this, but in the in the fourth quarter when Amman St.
- 55:14Brown caught the the touchdown pass and he jumped in the
- 55:17stands, did you see Jared Goff try to jump in the stands if you
- 55:21didn't? He's not athletic.
- 55:23He's really not. It was unbelievable.
- 55:26Like they were trying. He was like high centered, like
- 55:29he couldn't get over. It was unbelievable.
- 55:31And then as soon as he got back, as soon as he got back to the
- 55:35sidelines, they were giving him the business.
- 55:37I would give him the business too.
- 55:39It was it was hilarious, dude. Yeah, it's. 4 jobbing.
- 55:42He's 6 foot four and you're a quarterback in the NFL and
- 55:46you're throwing 50-60 yards down the field and you're moving
- 55:49inside. You should.
- 55:50Be able that what that it wasn't even that high you'd be able to
- 55:52jump. That I think so too, Scarrick.
- 55:54Off whatever, just keep throwing it.
- 55:56Obviously it's working. Yeah.
- 55:58The Packers and Commanders It's it's, I mean the Packers.
- 56:01I like the Packers, I like Jordan Love.
- 56:03I think they're they're going to be really good.
- 56:05Commanders obviously got dealt a bad blow, but we'll we'll see
- 56:08what happens and you know, some decent games.
- 56:11So I'll take it. Kept my mind busy.
- 56:14All right, let's go from some some good teams to some maybe
- 56:18not so good teams. The Rams 33.
- 56:21Rams are probably good team. Rams 33, Titans 19 and the
- 56:24Patriots also with 33 over the Dolphins with 27.
- 56:29Talking at the Rams. Stafford 2333 Two 98, two
- 56:33touchdowns in the pick. Karen Williams 1766 Nothing
- 56:37special. Puka Nakua had a 45 yard run for
- 56:40a touchdown. Blake Corum from Michigan,
- 56:44national champion, 5 carries, 44 yards, touchdown.
- 56:48Some interesting fantasy developments there at the
- 56:50running back position for the Rams.
- 56:52As I predicted, have quorum and I have reminded my teams.
- 56:55Cam Ward, nineteen, 33175 and a touchdown.
- 56:58Tony Pollard still a good player, 2492 over there, but not
- 57:03a game that was really in doubt. Patriots and Dolphins On the
- 57:06other hand, Tua had a much better game than people were
- 57:09going to give him credit for. 26 of 32315, two touchdowns and a
- 57:14pick. No running game whatsoever for
- 57:17Miami. 61 total rushing yards. Tyree Kill was over 100 for the
- 57:22first time in a while. A chain 8 catches for 92 yards.
- 57:26That's that kind of guy they have there as a receiving
- 57:29running back when a touchdown. Waddle gets on the scoreboard as
- 57:32well, but it wasn't enough. They can't handle it from Andre
- 57:36Stevenson Was very effective in the game. 5 catches, 88 yards,
- 57:4011 carries, 54 yards. Drake May scores one on the
- 57:43ground, throws for another 2. Patriots win over the Dolphins.
- 57:48First of all, what really stood out to me in the Rams game is
- 57:51their defense. This is one of the best defenses
- 57:54in the league. Young, talented to get that can
- 57:56get at the quarterback. And Ward was running for his
- 57:59dear life in this game. That offensive line cannot
- 58:01protect him. He's going to have a long, long
- 58:05year. And you know where the Titans
- 58:06are going to go at the draft next year.
- 58:08They're going offensive line, offensive line, offensive line.
- 58:12That's what they need. Titans going to fire the coach
- 58:14in the offseason. It looks like they're going to
- 58:16bring in a new guy because it doesn't look like Cal Hollahan's
- 58:19going. It'll last that long.
- 58:20So and and I like what I see with Puka Nukua, but everybody
- 58:23knows what Puka Nukua is. He's special.
- 58:25And and Devante Adams, when he gets his feet wet over there,
- 58:29they're going to be so fun to watch.
- 58:31And yeah, Quorum's going to be good.
- 58:33I I think this is going to be an all out great offensive team
- 58:36this year. This is the one of the best
- 58:37teams in the league. If Matthew Stafford stays
- 58:39healthy, this could be a Super Bowl contender.
- 58:43As far as the Patriots and the Miami Dolphins, the game.
- 58:46Who cares who wins this game? Both teams stink.
- 58:49Nobody cares. I mean, the the Dolphins stink.
- 58:52The Patriots stink. I mean, I saw some interesting
- 58:55things with May. Is he a top five quarterback?
- 58:58No. Will he be a top five
- 58:59quarterback? No.
- 59:00He's got, he's got, he's got a couple years left.
- 59:04Get out of here. This guy's not a top ten
- 59:06quarterback. Get off it, Mikey C The only
- 59:09thing I saw was DE Mondre, Andre Stevenson.
- 59:13I think he's going to be used a lot more in this offense.
- 59:15First week. He's coming back from an injury.
- 59:17He missed practically the whole preseason.
- 59:20I'm telling you, Stevenson is the number one guy.
- 59:22I know you liked Henderson and everybody liked Henderson
- 59:25because you saw him in the preseason.
- 59:27This guy's the number one guy and you saw it in game #2 watch
- 59:31out for Mr. Stevenson as we move forward.
- 59:34Yeah, definitely a sloppy game that I'm not going to really
- 59:36take away is a positive thing for the Patriots, their offense,
- 59:38which is better enough. But it was mainly a lot of bad
- 59:40tackling both ways, too, a lot of space for both sides.
- 59:43Fish, you mentioned HN, He had a lot of space on a lot of his
- 59:45catches and Stevenson on that catch, like nobody could tackle
- 59:48him. So I think I agree with that
- 59:49all. I think Split's going to be a
- 59:50lot closer with Stevenson once he doesn't end up getting
- 59:52healthier and the Patriots offensive line played better,
- 59:55but I think just the same. Stephenson's a beast.
- 59:57Yeah, he's a beast. But I.
- 59:59I still think even with the Patriots offensive line getting
- 1:00:01better and still says more about Miami's front 7 just really
- 1:00:03being that bad and Miami is a mess right now.
- 1:00:05They're going to have to fix a lot on Thursday against the
- 1:00:07Bills. Good luck.
- 1:00:08As far as the Rams go, yeah, if they can get Devante Adams going
- 1:00:10like they did in this game, this is going to be a very
- 1:00:12well-rounded offense, too, in addition to all the stardom that
- 1:00:14they have and that. Defense is now I'm going to take
- 1:00:16back with the Packers and the Eagles.
- 1:00:18I'm telling you right now, this team figures everything out and
- 1:00:22Matthew Stafford stays healthy. This could be the best team in
- 1:00:26the NFC. That's how good this team is.
- 1:00:28So it's crazy how good this team looks.
- 1:00:31Performance wise, if they play to that same level, maybe not
- 1:00:35better or like that much better, But if they play to that same
- 1:00:37level defensively as the Packers and the Eagles, they are right
- 1:00:39there because they have the offensive talent and coaching
- 1:00:42that's probably maybe not better than the Eagles on paper, but
- 1:00:44just as good. Yeah, I was.
- 1:00:47I was going to touch on that too.
- 1:00:48Like, you know, they, they kind of have all the checks and
- 1:00:50balances of, of those other teams and, and I think with the
- 1:00:54coaching and McVeigh and, and understanding his players and
- 1:00:56how he relates to them. So well, I think that's a huge,
- 1:01:00you know, part that people don't really realize.
- 1:01:03I, I think Cam Ward, yeah, he ran for his life, but I mean, I,
- 1:01:06he, he showed some signs of, of getting better and, and slowing
- 1:01:11the game down a little bit, But I mean, he's going to be running
- 1:01:13for his life a lot. That's just kind of I think he's
- 1:01:17he's looked himself in the mirror and me like, yeah, I
- 1:01:19probably should get good at this too.
- 1:01:20But yeah, the the Pats, Dolphins, I mean, there wasn't
- 1:01:23really much about that game. You guys kind of covered that so
- 1:01:27much. It was like, run, forest, run.
- 1:01:30That's what Cam Ward was doing the whole game.
- 1:01:32Yeah, he. Was running.
- 1:01:33I think he realizes that for. Sure.
- 1:01:35Oh my God, man, I feel bad for him, I really do.
- 1:01:38I literally have in my notes it says run ward run.
- 1:01:43It's literally in my notes. Well, he didn't have a ton of
- 1:01:48help. Well, return of the Mac.
- 1:01:50Mac Jones was able to knock off the Rattlesnake Spencer Rattler
- 1:01:55over in New Orleans 26 to 21, while the Seahawks benefit on a
- 1:02:01real big turnover in the game to take A2 touchdown win over the
- 1:02:06Steelers 31 to 17. Going through the stats in the
- 1:02:09game, Mac Jones 26 of 39279, three touchdown passes,
- 1:02:15McCaffrey 50 on the ground, 50 in the air and a touchdown for
- 1:02:19him. Juwan Jennings back to life, 89
- 1:02:22yards and a touchdown on five catches.
- 1:02:25On the other side of it, Rashid Shaheed, Juan Johnson, but
- 1:02:29again, never really in doubt. Kamara had a good game, 21
- 1:02:32carries, 99 yards and another 21 in the air.
- 1:02:37And that game. Seahawks, Sam Darnold, another
- 1:02:40one of those up and down Sam Darnold games.
- 1:02:42We're kind of seeing him come back to the earth a little bit.
- 1:02:4522 of 33295, Two touchdowns and two picks.
- 1:02:49Kenneth Walker, the third had a big old game. 13 carries, 105
- 1:02:53yards and a touchdown. Jackson Smith and Jigba. 8
- 1:02:56catches, 103 yards. Two weeks in a row.
- 1:02:58He's dominating with the catches.
- 1:03:00Errol. I think I'm going to be right
- 1:03:01about that bet, Errol. I don't know about that.
- 1:03:06He's in the top five right now, so on the other side of it,
- 1:03:10Aaron Rodgers did not look very good. 18 of 332O3A touchdown and
- 1:03:14two picks. Best player on the team was
- 1:03:16Jalen Warren. A lot of talk about Caleb
- 1:03:18Johnson. Had a horrible fumble on special
- 1:03:20teams that turned this game around.
- 1:03:23Cost them the game completely. It was really close up until
- 1:03:26that turnover. Jalen Warren 14 carries, 48
- 1:03:29yards. They can't run the football, but
- 1:03:31he had four catches for 86 on a big screen pass Not great.
- 1:03:35DK Metcalf 3 catches, 20 yards and a touchdown.
- 1:03:38Looks like the Steelers going to have a long season.
- 1:03:40I'm not surprised about the 49ers knocking off the Saints.
- 1:03:44The Saints are not a good team. And obviously, I'm not going to
- 1:03:48lie. I'm, you know what I'm going to
- 1:03:49do with Spencer Rattler, He the 49ers, Mac Jones.
- 1:03:53I, I think obviously the 49ers are not a very good team with
- 1:03:56all the the injuries that they have.
- 1:03:58When IU comes back and when this team goes and they come, you
- 1:04:02know, come at full strength. We'll see how this team really
- 1:04:04works, but they're two and O they're set up very, very well
- 1:04:08this year with the way the schedule is set up.
- 1:04:10This is not a very they're they don't have a very hard schedule.
- 1:04:15So I expect the 49ers to sneak into the playoffs if if they're
- 1:04:18half decent. So that's all I got to say about
- 1:04:21that. The Seahawks the the thing that
- 1:04:22really stood out was Caleb Johnson's the blunder.
- 1:04:24That's what cost him the game. If he didn't blunt, if he didn't
- 1:04:28muff up that that punt return or whatever kick return, whatever
- 1:04:31it was, or they maybe the the Steelers win the game.
- 1:04:36Just a lot of mistakes for the Steelers.
- 1:04:38The Steelers are still a a a pretty decent team.
- 1:04:41The question is, with the quarterback play, is Aaron
- 1:04:44Rodgers going to do enough against the better teams, the
- 1:04:48better defenses where they're going to need him to show up
- 1:04:50game in and game out? I don't know if he can and I
- 1:04:53don't know if he will. And DK Metcalf just didn't show
- 1:04:56up to the game. That's, that's that's all I got
- 1:04:58to say about that. He played against his former
- 1:05:00team and he didn't show up against his former team at home.
- 1:05:04And that's all. That's really what the game
- 1:05:07really felt and how it felt so. Yeah, usually, I mean, a lot of
- 1:05:10times when you have coaches versus players on the on that
- 1:05:12former team, obviously there are exceptions like the Eagles.
- 1:05:15Tomblin's done after this year, by the way.
- 1:05:17He's not. Running all over the Giants, but
- 1:05:19like, but besides that, there's usually other exceptions.
- 1:05:21It usually gives the advantage to the coach, especially like
- 1:05:23McDonald, of being a defensive coaching game plan for Metcalf.
- 1:05:25And you really saw, like we described all year, the
- 1:05:27deficiencies without Metcalf being an impact player of the
- 1:05:30rest of the Steelers offensive skill player.
- 1:05:31Seattle's offense finally showed up a little more than they did
- 1:05:34last week. I agree with you on the 49ers.
- 1:05:35I'm not jumping. They have beat the Saints.
- 1:05:37They're all banged up right now. They're probably besides the
- 1:05:39Bengals like the worst performing 2 and O team.
- 1:05:41It was Caleb Johnson that's really cost him the game.
- 1:05:44Everybody knows that if he catches that ball, Pittsburgh
- 1:05:48probably wins the game. Yeah, I mean, it's I, like I
- 1:05:54said before that I want to see Aaron Rodgers.
- 1:05:56I it. He.
- 1:05:58He looks old at times and he doesn't and then he looks old at
- 1:06:00times. That'll be interesting.
- 1:06:02I think you guys are right on time.
- 1:06:03When I think his it's kind of it's ran its course and I I
- 1:06:08think it's, I don't think he's going to have a losing season
- 1:06:10because he never has yet. But it I don't think it's going
- 1:06:12to be as good as they think if this year he may losing.
- 1:06:15Season. I think he will.
- 1:06:16Yeah, it's going to be, it's going to be close.
- 1:06:18Niners. I was, I was talking to our good
- 1:06:20friend Owen today and he was like I told you, Mac Jones.
- 1:06:23Why does everybody think, you know, he's not good?
- 1:06:25Rockford terrible blah blah blah.
- 1:06:27He's all into Mac Jones. Stop there.
- 1:06:32Yeah, he's like, oh, see, I told you, Mac Jones is just as It was
- 1:06:35Great. I thought I had dropped that in
- 1:06:37there. Yeah, it was great.
- 1:06:38Well, let him let Owen return so he can wear his dress and his
- 1:06:43lipstick and his wig, because that's that's a bet that he
- 1:06:46still hasn't fulfilled. Okay, so stop with this Mac
- 1:06:49Jones crap. What Oh garbage take.
- 1:06:53I've told you about Mac Jones. The guy sucks.
- 1:06:55Did you see him on the Jaguars last year?
- 1:06:58He played the crappy Saints. Let's see if he plays next week.
- 1:07:02Who do they who they matched up? Against.
- 1:07:04Arizona. Next week, Aaron.
- 1:07:06Well, I rest my case. Arizona stinks too.
- 1:07:09So Star. Right, Errol?
- 1:07:12It'll look good. Two weeks, bro.
- 1:07:14You've been waiting for this one.
- 1:07:16We got first game is kind of went how everyone expected.
- 1:07:20The Ravens things absolutely destroy the Browns 41 to 17,
- 1:07:26Lamar Jackson, 4 touchdowns. They put on the brakes after a
- 1:07:29while. MVP of the league this year.
- 1:07:31Never close Lamar Jackson's unstoppable, but the game that
- 1:07:35brought a lot of eyebrows up to be raised was the Colts winning.
- 1:07:42Some would say in controversial fact, stop over the Broncos 29
- 1:07:48the 28. Don't tell me it wasn't
- 1:07:49controversial how that game went down at the end.
- 1:07:51You don't think so? All right, well, let's just go
- 1:07:55through some of the stats in that game.
- 1:07:57I'm not going to talk about the Ravens game, but bone Knicks two
- 1:08:00O 622 of 33 touchdowns in the pick.
- 1:08:03Another 20 yards rushing. JK Dobbins has been their number
- 1:08:06one running back primarily this year. 14 carries, 76 yards in a
- 1:08:09touchdown. Troy Franklin, his big
- 1:08:12connection from college, 8 catches, 89 yards in a
- 1:08:15touchdown. Marvin Mins had a touchdown.
- 1:08:18Really. One catch for six yards for
- 1:08:21Portland Sutton. It's not exactly what they want.
- 1:08:23Tyler Warren looks exactly what people said he was going to be
- 1:08:26like coming out of college. 4 catches, 79 yards.
- 1:08:29Man child. Jonathan Taylor though, 25
- 1:08:32carries, 165 yards. Another 50 receiving yards on a
- 1:08:36screen pass and a touchdown. 43 yard reception.
- 1:08:41Daniel Jones, the best game managing performance of his
- 1:08:46career, 23 of 34 with that touchdown to Taylor, 316 yards.
- 1:08:53Then he had a sneak that got in six carries, 2 yards.
- 1:08:57Daniel Jones was never this reliable.
- 1:09:01He had no turnovers in this game against the league's top
- 1:09:06defense. Errol.
- 1:09:08I'm going to still have negative things to say.
- 1:09:11Because you're a giant fan and you can't admit that this kid
- 1:09:14deserves a little bit more credit than he deserves.
- 1:09:17I think we might be a lot to pump the brakes on, too much
- 1:09:20credit, but go ahead, have your time.
- 1:09:22It's pretty simple. If you compare his numbers right
- 1:09:24now to Lamar Jackson, they're not too far fetched.
- 1:09:28Except. That oh, get that, his.
- 1:09:29Completion percentages to 71.4 and.
- 1:09:33I guess all of Lamar Jackson. If you look at his numbers,
- 1:09:36they're better than Lamar here in the 1st 2:00.
- 1:09:38Weeks had a screen pass touchdown.
- 1:09:40That's the only thing. Are you going to shut up?
- 1:09:41Because you had your time now shut your mouth and you didn't
- 1:09:44even, you didn't even crow, OK? You said if he beats the
- 1:09:48Broncos, you're going to crow. You didn't crow.
- 1:09:50Shit, man. Zipper your mouth and don't say
- 1:09:52anything because to me, you don't give this guy enough
- 1:09:56credit. This guy's completion percentage
- 1:09:58is at 71588 yards, 2 touchdowns, no interceptions.
- 1:10:03This year. He's been unbelievable for an
- 1:10:05Indianapolis Colts team that nobody thought would be two.
- 1:10:08And oh, right now the Broncos, who had the 5th defense in the
- 1:10:12NFL couldn't stop him. He ran all over him.
- 1:10:16He threw all over him. He deserves a lot of credit for
- 1:10:19the success of the Indianapolis Colts.
- 1:10:22This guy absolutely is an NFL quarterback.
- 1:10:25He has a competent coach, he has a competent offensive line, and
- 1:10:29he has a competent offense. So stop it.
- 1:10:32Your Giants suck, your organization sucks, and they
- 1:10:35were wrong about this guy. And this guy's going to achieve
- 1:10:39as a Pro Bowl player this year. This guy's going to be one of
- 1:10:42the best quarterbacks in the AFC this year.
- 1:10:44You could book it. And by the way, he's going to
- 1:10:47win their division this year. The Colts are for real.
- 1:10:50Take it, book it, settle it, scoop it, shoop it and stick it
- 1:10:55up your ass fish. So Jared, our new interns first
- 1:10:59night tonight, this is a segment that we do is called This is the
- 1:11:02remix. I can't wait for this to come
- 1:11:05back and bite you on. This is the remix at the end of
- 1:11:08this football. Season, I remember you said.
- 1:11:10Absolutely cutting this, Yeah. If not, If not, I'll sit there.
- 1:11:14No, you happen to do. You haven't even you haven't
- 1:11:16even eaten crow. You haven't Ian Crow because you
- 1:11:18said, you said last week if he beats Denver and puts up great
- 1:11:24numbers, you will eat crow. You didn't do nothing, dude.
- 1:11:27You made-up excuses. That's why you got his.
- 1:11:29Called him Lamar Jackson. His numbers are better than
- 1:11:32Lamar Jackson right now. Yes, they are.
- 1:11:37Yes, they are. I'm looking at the numbers right
- 1:11:38now. I'm looking at the numbers.
- 1:11:40Right, Speedy go because. There in the first two weeks, he
- 1:11:44has better numbers than Lamar Jackson.
- 1:11:45Yes, he does. All right, I'll I'll take it
- 1:11:47from the non Daniel Joe standpoint while you guys debate
- 1:11:50about him, because he has he did play very well in that game.
- 1:11:52And I think he's play extension ability is definitely showing in
- 1:11:55this offense how it really does fit.
- 1:11:57Jonathan Taylor started a little slow in this game and then got
- 1:11:59going in the second-half of the game.
- 1:12:00And if they can get him going in the first half of the season
- 1:12:03because the last two years to be kind of a second-half
- 1:12:05resurrection type guy. Last year he was hurt.
- 1:12:07And like you're saying, fish Tyler Warren kind of being that
- 1:12:10number one like consistent target guy in this offense is
- 1:12:12really good to see. And where they get the second
- 1:12:15receiver to emerge is something let's talk about with other
- 1:12:17teams, too. This time it was out out.
- 1:12:18Piercely saw it last week with being Josh Downs.
- 1:12:21They actually have a lot of really good depth and the
- 1:12:23defense did a good job stopping the run and making it hard for
- 1:12:26Courtland Sutton. Like you're saying, fish to do
- 1:12:28anything. One catch for six yards in that
- 1:12:30game, that's anything you can win.
- 1:12:31So between coaching and just dynamic of that offense to the
- 1:12:33Colts, they are looking really good right now.
- 1:12:38Mr. Chamberlain. Well, I was just, I was excited
- 1:12:42that I got it. That was a popcorn moment.
- 1:12:44I was excited. So thank you guys for that.
- 1:12:46You guys covered it all. I just got I just got a nice
- 1:12:49popcorn snack for a good interaction.
- 1:12:51Look, it's 5 field goals, Errol 5 field goal drives.
- 1:12:56That's the Daniel Jones I remember.
- 1:12:57It's the guy that leads field. Goal, Dude, Dude, you know
- 1:13:00what's so funny about you is that you said you were going to
- 1:13:03eat crow and you have an EV crow.
- 1:13:04You're making excuses like you always do.
- 1:13:07That's all you do. You make excuses.
- 1:13:09He had four touchdowns. Like Lamar Jackson, you make
- 1:13:12excuses through 30 yards. Stop.
- 1:13:15Stop. Dude, stop you, you you didn't
- 1:13:17eat crow. All you're doing is making
- 1:13:19excuses right now, right now the best right now Daniel Jones in
- 1:13:24the first two weeks ever been right now in the first two
- 1:13:26weeks, the evolutionary right now in the first two weeks,
- 1:13:29Daniel Jones is amongst the top three in passing top 3IN running
- 1:13:34top three in every single statistic and you can't even eat
- 1:13:376 carries for two yards. You can't even eat crow.
- 1:13:40You can't eat. You can't even eat crow.
- 1:13:42You can't do nothing. All you do is make excuses.
- 1:13:45That's why as a coach you should zipper your mouth.
- 1:13:48Because to me as a coach, as a coach, if it's not going to do a
- 1:13:52coach, it does, because you haven't done anything.
- 1:13:54You have not ate pro. You.
- 1:13:57You came out. You came out last week.
- 1:13:59Did he not say this? That if somehow, somehow Daniel
- 1:14:03Jones wins against a great defense like that, I'm gonna eat
- 1:14:06crow and I'm gonna give him compliments?
- 1:14:08You did not do anything. I will give him a call.
- 1:14:10No, no, he is the best mute version.
- 1:14:13Mutum of trend mutum mutum. That I I.
- 1:14:16Didn't expect to do that. Stop stop dude.
- 1:14:17Stop mutum next, next segment. I'm done.
- 1:14:20I don't want to hear. This we got.
- 1:14:22We got a couple of more. Games.
- 1:14:23Don't worry, dude, don't worry for all you, all you Jackson
- 1:14:26Dart fans, all you Jackson Dart fans, you Dabo fans, all you
- 1:14:30Giant fans, watch this guy, put up the numbers this year.
- 1:14:33Watch this guy what he does this year, and I'm going to shut you.
- 1:14:36Giant fans, great job. Coaching.
- 1:14:39Oh, oh, you're going to give him compliments, but you won't give
- 1:14:42Daniel Jones compliments. That's.
- 1:14:43Great. Not yet.
- 1:14:44I need more. No, but let's go for someone who
- 1:14:47deserves no compliments and that's Bryce Young.
- 1:14:50Bryce Young has really struggled out the gate for the Panthers.
- 1:14:54They almost came back after falling down very by a lot
- 1:14:58early. Cardinals kind of put the brakes
- 1:15:01on a little too early in this game, but they went 27 to 22.
- 1:15:04And then the Vikings lose JJ McCarthy for two to four weeks
- 1:15:08to a high ankle sprain on what didn't look like that bad of a
- 1:15:11play at the time. They couldn't get anything going
- 1:15:15offensively. They fall to the Falcons 22 to
- 1:15:196. In that game, like you said,
- 1:15:21McCarthy really struggled. 11 of 21, two interceptions, 25 yards
- 1:15:26rushing. Michael Pennix, not much better,
- 1:15:2913 of 21135 yards. Bijon Robinson was the story for
- 1:15:33the the Falcons and Tyler Algier between the two of them, 218
- 1:15:38yards rushing in a touchdown. Got a ball for 1:40.
- 1:15:41Three, got a ball, got a ball. Pretty impressive.
- 1:15:44Justin Jefferson. The reason why I was afraid of
- 1:15:48taking him was was this. He's still, Justin Jefferson
- 1:15:50still had 81 yards in this game. Jordan Mason looks like he's
- 1:15:54going to have more carries than Aaron Jones this year for that
- 1:15:58backfield, at least on that side of it.
- 1:16:00And that's pretty much it for that game.
- 1:16:04And the last game that we said was the Cardinals game.
- 1:16:07The Cardinals. Who cares about these games
- 1:16:09please? Bryce Young had a lot of numbers
- 1:16:12all right, but you got to remember what happened in the
- 1:16:16first part of this game. He has a catastrophic fumble
- 1:16:19that immediately puts him down 7.
- 1:16:21They they just he just can't play from behind every single
- 1:16:24time he gets T Mac Tetaroa McMillan his first 100 yard game
- 1:16:29in the NFL. But again, a lot of that was in
- 1:16:31catch up against any kind of deep zone coverage.
- 1:16:34Kyla Murray seventeen 25220 touchdown in the pick.
- 1:16:38James Connor had a rushing touchdown.
- 1:16:39No one had great numbers. McBride 6 for 78.
- 1:16:43Pretty much it. Bryce Young is a bust.
- 1:16:46Kyler Murray will not be on the Cardinals next year.
- 1:16:49As far as I'm concerned, both teams stink as far as the
- 1:16:52Vikings and Falcons. The Falcons could make the
- 1:16:54playoffs this year. Bijon Robinson has to stay
- 1:16:56healthy, which he usually is. I think he's the best running
- 1:17:00back right now in the NFLI. Don't think you can argue that
- 1:17:02right now. In the first two weeks, he's
- 1:17:04been as good as anybody and the Vikings.
- 1:17:07I'm not going to pound on JJ McCarthy after his first loss.
- 1:17:11Give him some time. I think O'Connell, figure him
- 1:17:14out. I think he has the capability of
- 1:17:16being a good quarterback in the league.
- 1:17:17So that's all I'm going to say about.
- 1:17:18The Falcons rookie class is really impressive when you look
- 1:17:22at we've talked about the edge rusters, Fish, the 2 they
- 1:17:24drafted. But like even though some of
- 1:17:25their secondary has played really well in that game, they
- 1:17:28always had good linebackers, they always had good safeties.
- 1:17:31And I think now you're finally seeing now that they have the
- 1:17:33premier positions on defense, just how good their defense
- 1:17:35could be along with we know the freak athletes on offense like
- 1:17:37Bichon, which had probably the best game of his career.
- 1:17:39That offensive line is really good in Atlanta, Minnesota.
- 1:17:42Their defense, they held their own.
- 1:17:43You give them some credit outside of stopping Bichon all.
- 1:17:45Right, we've done it these these two games, which is absolutely
- 1:17:48future. Why are we going on and on and
- 1:17:50on with them? They they were horrible.
- 1:17:52Both games were horrible. Well, he wants to talk about the
- 1:17:55nuance of guard play with the Atlanta Falcons.
- 1:17:57You know, that guy's a great guard.
- 1:17:59He's the best in the business and they dominated the game.
- 1:18:02He. Played very well.
- 1:18:04He was like you said, PFF, ranked number one guard.
- 1:18:06That offense is really good. PFF.
- 1:18:08Crap and panics like you said, Fish wasn't great but still
- 1:18:11making smart decisions. Vikings defense held their own,
- 1:18:14but Jefferson could only do so much on offense.
- 1:18:17Yeah, no, they I mean, yeah, they weren't that that game was
- 1:18:21was anti climactic for sure. But Justin Jefferson tied Larry
- 1:18:25Fitzgerald is the youngest with five youngest 2500 career
- 1:18:29receptions. So that's about that's about the
- 1:18:31only thing that really came out of that good.
- 1:18:34I mean, obviously with JJ going down, yeah.
- 1:18:36And the Cardinals, Panthers, yeah, it's it was another game.
- 1:18:41I didn't have any notes on that because it did nothing.
- 1:18:43Made my nipples hard. So and.
- 1:18:44We got Jared, who's like a statistician over here, our new
- 1:18:48intern and I'm sure he he absolutely loved and enjoyed
- 1:18:53that whole statistic economic bullshit, which I could give a
- 1:18:57crap about the PFF garbage that the NFL is trying to sell us.
- 1:19:01And what they're that's economics.
- 1:19:03How is that economics you? Be you shouldn't even say
- 1:19:06anything. I shouldn't say anything you.
- 1:19:09Shouldn't say anything after your crow crap.
- 1:19:12You didn't even come shut the music off.
- 1:19:14You didn't do enough to give Daniel Jones any compliments.
- 1:19:19And that tells me that you, my friend, are telling on who you
- 1:19:25are as a person. You will never give this guy
- 1:19:27credit no matter what. Look, never threw a 43 yard
- 1:19:31screen for a touchdown, only touchdown.
- 1:19:33Stop, stop. The guy's only touchdown.
- 1:19:36The guy played against a great defense, didn't throw any
- 1:19:38interceptions, and he did what he was supposed to do.
- 1:19:41That's what you're doing. Make some Trent Dilfer, Trent
- 1:19:43Dilfer, dude, if you're going to.
- 1:19:45That can run. First of all, the Indianapolis
- 1:19:48Colts do not have a defense like the one and only 2000 Baltimore
- 1:19:53Ravens. Okay, stop with the deal for
- 1:19:55crap and you're going to sit here and tell me that that team
- 1:19:59that running game that they had is is is better the the tailor
- 1:20:03the that what we see so far he's been hot and cold in both those
- 1:20:07games. All right, so I don't want to
- 1:20:09hear this crap. Daniel Jones deserves a little
- 1:20:11bit more credit than you're giving him.
- 1:20:12Taylor's a great great. Great, great.
- 1:20:15And you're not giving Daniel Jones enough credit because he
- 1:20:17deserves all all. Right, we'll see.
- 1:20:19We'll see. I just want to see him.
- 1:20:21No, no, because you know what's going to happen.
- 1:20:23You know what's going to happen if he loses next week and he
- 1:20:26loses a game that's very, very close, you say yes.
- 1:20:28See, I told you about Daniel Jones can't win the big one.
- 1:20:32But when he does something against the Broncos defense the
- 1:20:35way he did national CBSTV, you won't give him any credit.
- 1:20:40So stop. Thank you to Greg, the one and
- 1:20:44only Greg the leg as we we love him.
- 1:20:48Larnard, who's been on a show quite a few times, He was
- 1:20:50sensational. He's from Nebraska, too.
- 1:20:52Yes, and he's a little. Greg the leg.
- 1:20:54Yes, I know, I know. Errol's favorite?
- 1:20:57Just making sure. Larnard is from Long Island,
- 1:21:00actually he's from the New York area.
- 1:21:02So we we love Greg and he's doing a lot of great things all
- 1:21:05over the country. So thank you to Greg for giving
- 1:21:07us 40 minutes and I know he loves coming on the show.
- 1:21:10So thank you to him. Thank you to all the fans on all
- 1:21:13the platforms from Spotify and Apple video and audio.
- 1:21:17Thank you to the TikTok fans, the Instagram fans, the X fans,

- 1:21:24platforms. We really appreciate you guys.

- 1:21:27945 joining us. You were talking about the
- 1:21:29Jaguars before you used to play for them.
- 1:21:31Former Jaguars, Broncos and Cowboys defensive lineman Jeremy
- 1:21:33Minty will be returning to the show.
- 1:21:36Probably argue with you about the Gremlin.
- 1:21:38No, I don't know about that. I I think I'm pretty, you know,
- 1:21:42set on my thoughts to him and I'm sure I'm spot on in his eyes
- 1:21:47over the first two weeks. So anyways, we'll have Jeremy
- 1:21:50Mincey on the show. So again, thank you to our new
