- 0:00Speaker 1: He popped out of the trail. A white man a oh.
- 0:05Speaker 2: My god, much would have preferred a bear.
- 0:08Speaker 1: He sounds real white too. A white man with fluffy,
- 0:12Speaker 1: short white hair, eighties style mustache, Oh god, probably five
- 0:18Speaker 1: eleven or so and very short cargo shorts ew and
- 0:23Speaker 1: a huge square JanSport backpack, Oh my god, which was
- 0:29Speaker 1: making jangling noises, and immediately asked me if I was
- 0:34Speaker 1: hiking alone. Yeah, that's the appropriate reaction. Hi, Caitlin, Hi Cassie,
- 0:40Speaker 1: Hi creepy people. Hello, this is PNW Haunson Homicides, where
- 0:47Speaker 1: we shot about true crime, the paranormal and all things
- 0:51Speaker 1: spooky in the Pacific Northwest or the p and w
- 0:58Speaker 1: IF and then we also do a terror reading at
- 1:05Speaker 1: the end of every episode for a little deeper insight
- 1:08Speaker 1: into our squeaky toy I mean topic topic.
- 1:15Speaker 2: As always, Charlotte is with us.
- 1:20Speaker 1: If you hadn't heard, yeah.
- 1:24Speaker 2: She's having a great time.
- 1:27Speaker 1: So today is my episode. And Caitlin might be slightly
- 1:32Speaker 1: confused because I am not on my laptop. I am
- 1:35Speaker 1: on my phone, which means I did not write this episode.
- 1:44Speaker 2: I'm so confused.
- 1:46Speaker 1: So since you tortured me for my birthday, I decided
- 1:48Speaker 1: that I wanted a lazy episode and I went to
- 1:51Speaker 1: read it and I hold some stories from Reddit.
- 1:55Speaker 2: I mean, you earned it.
- 1:56Speaker 1: I did earn it. Thank you.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Yeah, your ear dedication episode turned out so much darker
- 2:04Speaker 2: than I intended.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Was the worst.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I was like, I regret this, but I have
- 2:11Speaker 2: unfortunately plunged too deep and spent too much time and
- 2:16Speaker 2: we just have to venture forth.
- 2:20Speaker 1: And guys, I had to fucking edit it, so I
- 2:22Speaker 1: had to listen to it again. I was like, why story?
- 2:33Speaker 1: I know.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Sometimes I really am the worst.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Seriously, So anyway, I did end up finding I found
- 2:40Speaker 1: like P ANDW specific things from Reddit. Though I love it.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Some of them are pretty recent.
- 2:47Speaker 2: We love a recent story.
- 2:50Speaker 1: I'll start with that one, the one like the first
- 2:52Speaker 1: one I found. So I did this last night. So
- 2:55Speaker 1: this is two days ago. I was posted wow, and
- 3:03Speaker 1: I found all of these in the what is it
- 3:06Speaker 1: called a subreddit? The subred is that what that's called?
- 3:11Speaker 1: It's called backwoods creepy. Oh, I've totally found stories there.
- 3:16Speaker 1: I have been over time trying to gather some things too. Yeah,
- 3:23Speaker 1: you haven't gathered this one because it was from two
- 3:25Speaker 1: days ago and they were all like kind of outdoorsy.
- 3:29Speaker 1: I mean it's called Backwoods, so they're all kind of
- 3:31Speaker 1: like outdoorsy. It reminds me of like camping, summertime, being outdoors. Okay,
- 3:36Speaker 1: this is from user it lurks in the Forest. That's
- 3:40Speaker 1: their user name. So I'm like, did they just create
- 3:44Speaker 1: a user name?
- 3:45Speaker 2: Holy shit?
- 3:46Speaker 1: And then like just come on here to post this
- 3:49Speaker 1: one story because or do you post kind of thing
- 3:52Speaker 1: all the time. I don't know.
- 3:53Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 3:55Speaker 1: But it's called witch Altar in Oregon. Me and my
- 4:00Speaker 1: now wife are doing a road trip down the Organ Coast. Okay,
- 4:05Speaker 1: we decided to stop and do this hiking trail called
- 4:08Speaker 1: Hobbit Beach and I have looked at this beach forever
- 4:13Speaker 1: and I'm like, I need to go there, need to
- 4:16Speaker 1: do this, and I still have yet to do it.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Well, now you know, it's.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Apparently like kind of hidden and are you even google it? Right?
- 4:24Speaker 2: I'm going to google it. Yeah, it's like magical apparently,
- 4:29Speaker 2: I mean, who doesn't Who doesn't love a magical beach?
- 4:34Speaker 1: Oh? I feel like the thing is is because it's
- 4:37Speaker 1: like not super well known. But I'm like, is it
- 4:39Speaker 1: not though, or is it one of those things where
- 4:43Speaker 1: it used to not be well known, but now everyone
- 4:45Speaker 1: knows about it, and so they go there. I'm not
- 4:47Speaker 1: the same question. I have to go and find out.
- 4:49Speaker 1: I guess.
- 4:50Speaker 2: I mean it does have signage, it looks like it does,
- 4:53Speaker 2: but you have to already be there to see it.
- 4:57Speaker 1: It might kind of ruin it for you. Okay, So
- 5:01Speaker 1: the trail is pretty, but it does smell a lot
- 5:03Speaker 1: like stale urine. And there were little tunnels in quotes
- 5:09Speaker 1: into the woods that look well traveled, and there is
- 5:12Speaker 1: a lot of trash that is so upsetting. So it
- 5:16Speaker 1: makes me think it is more well known and it's
- 5:20Speaker 1: like travel.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't like that.
- 5:25Speaker 1: I hate that it seems like people may be living
- 5:29Speaker 1: in the woods down in the tunnels. I for some
- 5:32Speaker 1: reason go down one of the tunnels to check it out,
- 5:36Speaker 1: and at the end I find a little altar. It
- 5:39Speaker 1: had eggs, candles, feathers, small animal bones placed in crisscrosses,
- 5:46Speaker 1: all built in a very unsettling fashion. Okay, I mean,
- 5:51Speaker 1: is it unsettling just because you think it's like nefarious,
- 5:56Speaker 1: like you're not used to think, because I'm like that
- 5:58Speaker 1: all sounds really cool to me. Little bones, little feathers.
- 6:02Speaker 1: I love that. It really could go either way for me.
- 6:06Speaker 1: It said it looked like a giant bird's nest on
- 6:09Speaker 1: the ground. Did I read that part? Did I skip
- 6:11Speaker 1: over that sentence?
- 6:12Speaker 2: You might have say it again.
- 6:14Speaker 1: After it says that they go down in the tunnels
- 6:17Speaker 1: to check it out. At the end of the little altar,
- 6:19Speaker 1: it says it looked like a giant bird nest that
- 6:22Speaker 1: is built on the ground. It had eggs, candles, feathers,
- 6:26Speaker 1: small animal bones placed in crisscrosses, all built in a
- 6:29Speaker 1: very unsettling fashion bird's nest. I don't know all that
- 6:33Speaker 1: sounds great to me. It sounds like something I would do,
- 6:36Speaker 1: just saying.
- 6:37Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, it does sound cool.
- 6:40Speaker 1: But I guess people are unsettled by witchcraft sometimes because
- 6:43Speaker 1: they think it's like evil whatever. Yeah, we do tarot here,
- 6:47Speaker 1: we are into it. So it goes on to say,
- 6:52Speaker 1: I quickly backtrack back to my wife and tell her
- 6:56Speaker 1: not to go that way. We ran into two dudes
- 6:59Speaker 1: later down the trail that didn't seem to have any
- 7:02Speaker 1: gear or be hiking. They said, well, it's like a
- 7:06Speaker 1: little trail to the beach. I don't know if you'd
- 7:09Speaker 1: necessarily have need gear for that. I'm not sure.
- 7:11Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe not.
- 7:13Speaker 1: They said hi and asked us what we were doing hiking. Obviously, okay, dickhead,
- 7:22Speaker 1: They're like, what are you doing in our home? These
- 7:25Speaker 1: are our tunnels in our archers altars. We hiked past
- 7:31Speaker 1: them and looked back and they were just standing there
- 7:33Speaker 1: watching us. Nothing else happened, but it was a very
- 7:37Speaker 1: unsettling hike overall. I still wonder what the altar was
- 7:41Speaker 1: doing out there.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Huh.
- 7:46Speaker 1: I'm gonna scroll through these comments really quick and see
- 7:49Speaker 1: if do you have any I feel like we kind
- 7:53Speaker 1: of commented, but do you have anything else to say
- 7:55Speaker 1: about it? No?
- 7:56Speaker 2: Honestly, I am really curious about the comments.
- 7:59Speaker 1: This one says sound like witchy nature people doing witchy
- 8:02Speaker 1: nature stuff.
- 8:03Speaker 2: Yeah, honestly, I feel like that's the right reaction.
- 8:07Speaker 1: They probably aren't the ones leaving trash around, though, which
- 8:10Speaker 1: I kind of maybe agree with.
- 8:12Speaker 2: I'm inclined to agree as well. I did come across.
- 8:17Speaker 2: I am not positive, but I think this is kind
- 8:21Speaker 2: of a more local publication, and I've used them as
- 8:26Speaker 2: a source for a lot of other things. It does
- 8:29Speaker 2: seem like this little like kind of it's almost like
- 8:31Speaker 2: a blog post about it. The pathway is pretty similar
- 8:35Speaker 2: to numerous coast trails. It's that name Hobbit Trail that
- 8:39Speaker 2: really lured me for a late December hike with my
- 8:43Speaker 2: one year old Hobbit sized daughter. In tow there's a picture.
- 8:49Speaker 2: We were hoping to see something that resembled Middle Earth
- 8:52Speaker 2: and the Lord of the Rings trilogy. I'm not alone.
- 8:56Speaker 2: The Internet is filled with articles about the Hobbit Trail,
- 9:00Speaker 2: including ones with breathless headlines such as hike the magical
- 9:05Speaker 2: Hobbit Trail to a secluded Oregon beach. That fanfare has
- 9:10Speaker 2: led to large summer crowds, despite the trail beginning at
- 9:13Speaker 2: a small and nondescript trailhead along US Highway one oh one.
- 9:19Speaker 1: It's a really busy trail and I'm not entirely sure
- 9:22Speaker 1: why just because of the name for really park Ranger
- 9:27Speaker 1: though that they quoted for the article. It's a really
- 9:31Speaker 1: busy trail and I'm not entirely sure why During the
- 9:34Speaker 1: summer there are cars lining the highway, even though you
- 9:37Speaker 1: can drive a half mile to a much easier access
- 9:40Speaker 1: point and get to the same beach. Oh my gosh,
- 9:43Speaker 1: good to know though.
- 9:44Speaker 2: Yeah, so the secret's out because actually this article is
- 9:47Speaker 2: from twenty eighteen, so the secret has done ben out.
- 9:53Speaker 1: Yeah, so it seems to me like maybe the urine
- 9:55Speaker 1: smell in the trash isn't people just like living there,
- 9:58Speaker 1: but just so much people like, yeah, I gotta take
- 10:02Speaker 1: a pee on this, let's go to this trail, and like,
- 10:06Speaker 1: you know, I don't know, I'm on the side of
- 10:09Speaker 1: the road before too.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.
- 10:14Speaker 1: This one comment says I live in Oregon and spend
- 10:16Speaker 1: a lot of time at the coast. Nothing about the
- 10:18Speaker 1: story surprises me. A lot of witchy people. Yeah, that's
- 10:25Speaker 1: just Oregon. Yeah, a pagan altar on the Oregon beach.
- 10:30Speaker 1: That's just coastal Oregon. Love it.
- 10:35Speaker 2: I do love that.
- 10:36Speaker 1: There's a lot of really cool witchy shops on the
- 10:39Speaker 1: coast too. Okay, let's see what we want to do next.
- 10:46Speaker 1: This one sounds so familiar to me. I wonder if
- 10:48Speaker 1: I read it before but just didn't read it on
- 10:50Speaker 1: the podcast. Oh, it's very long. It's about the Pacific
- 10:54Speaker 1: Crest Trail. It's her muser and MS and basium oo,
- 11:03Speaker 1: I don't know MS, and it's called Pacific Crest Trail, Washington.
- 11:12Speaker 1: Odd encounter ooh, it's kind of creepy, Like I didn't
- 11:16Speaker 1: read these all the way through, but like I couldn't.
- 11:18Speaker 2: Skimmed kim dum. Yeah what subreddit, it's.
- 11:21Speaker 1: The same one they're all from. The all from backwoods
- 11:25Speaker 1: was creepy like it. This was from two hundred and
- 11:28Speaker 1: seventy eight days ago.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Okay, so still pretty recent.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Yeah. Still, I tried to pick one that we're like
- 11:33Speaker 1: less than a year posting this here in the event
- 11:36Speaker 1: someone may have a similar story in Washington. I was
- 11:40Speaker 1: through hiking the Pacific Crest Trail PCT if you're nasty
- 11:47Speaker 1: southbound at the time, I flipped from northbound to southbound
- 11:51Speaker 1: part way through the Sierra Nevada as twenty twenty three
- 11:55Speaker 1: was California's history snow year on record. Oh crazy, and
- 12:00Speaker 1: when I was there it was still snowing. WHOA When
- 12:04Speaker 1: I had a creepy encounter with a self described day
- 12:08Speaker 1: hiker mail on the trail, ooh, they rhymed, never meet
- 12:13Speaker 1: a man, Never meet a man, especially alone in the
- 12:16Speaker 1: fucking woods. I was hiking towards the Cracker Barrel, which
- 12:20Speaker 1: is not the restaurant it says aka White Pass in Washington.
- 12:26Speaker 2: Which check out.
- 12:27Speaker 1: Okay, wait, if you're a cracker, barrel might also be
- 12:31Speaker 1: called the White Pass anyway, just kidding. I love that
- 12:39Speaker 1: the area before White Pass is quite boggy, and it
- 12:43Speaker 1: was a sunny, warm day in July. Wait what it
- 12:46Speaker 1: was snowing in July? I'm so confused. Okay, Oh maybe
- 12:51Speaker 1: because they were like up in the mountain. Okay, the
- 12:55Speaker 1: area before White Pass is quite boggy, and it was
- 12:58Speaker 1: a sunny, warm day in July twenty While I was hiking,
- 13:02Speaker 1: I bumped into a day hiker at one of the
- 13:05Speaker 1: trail junctions with the PCT and a side trail. He
- 13:09Speaker 1: popped out of the trail a white man with Oh
- 13:16Speaker 1: my god, I much would have preferred a bear. He
- 13:20Speaker 1: sounds real white too. A white man with fluffy, short
- 13:24Speaker 1: white hair, eighties style mustache, oh god, probably five eleven
- 13:30Speaker 1: or so, and very short cargo shorts eh and a
- 13:35Speaker 1: huge square JanSport backpack of the sort.
- 13:40Speaker 2: Oh my god. Do you think he was just like
- 13:45Speaker 2: a time traveler?
- 13:47Speaker 1: I know, because like they're saying twenty but if it's
- 13:49Speaker 1: an old man in twenty twenty three, like they kind
- 13:52Speaker 1: of stop progressing in their style, right, So a Janzport
- 13:59Speaker 1: back Oh. Man, so they're saying the JanSport backpack, which
- 14:04Speaker 1: was making jangling noises, and immediately asked me if I
- 14:09Speaker 1: was a PCT hiker. I said yes, and then he
- 14:13Speaker 1: quickly asked me if I was hiking alone. Yeah, that's
- 14:16Speaker 1: the appropriate reaction. Yeah. I was about thirty at the time.
- 14:21Speaker 1: I am five to one, and I had not showered
- 14:24Speaker 1: in seven days due to the remote stretches in Washington
- 14:28Speaker 1: prior to this. Asking a female if she was hiking
- 14:32Speaker 1: alone is not cool. No, it's really not don't do that.
- 14:37Speaker 2: Yeah, why why would you ask that?
- 14:41Speaker 1: For various reasons.
- 14:42Speaker 2: That's why it's not cool, because who needs to know?
- 14:45Speaker 1: Right? Hello? Hello? And I technically was hiking with another hiker.
- 14:51Speaker 1: He was just a few miles ahead of me. I said, no,
- 14:55Speaker 1: that someone was just up ahead, which was true. When
- 14:58Speaker 1: he asked me these questions. The were in quick succession
- 15:01Speaker 1: of each other, and he seemed incredibly excited. Oh I
- 15:08Speaker 1: don't like that. Are you liking glad?
- 15:12Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 15:12Speaker 1: I want to see my Painis he just pull those
- 15:16Speaker 1: little shorty shirts a little bit? Sorry? Nope, sorry for
- 15:22Speaker 1: that visual Something about the encounter the vibes in general
- 15:26Speaker 1: was off, and I had that blood going cold, stomach
- 15:30Speaker 1: dropping feeling. I proceed to walk faster down the PCT.
- 15:36Speaker 1: The man followed me, making some comments about a female
- 15:40Speaker 1: all alone out here, and because I was well over
- 15:44Speaker 1: a thousand miles into walking that year, I was in
- 15:47Speaker 1: a good shape and begin to haul some serious but
- 15:50Speaker 1: assuming he would not be able to keep up, the
- 15:53Speaker 1: man started lightly jogging behind me to keep up. Ew okay,
- 15:58Speaker 1: getting so close to my seven days unwashed hair in
- 16:02Speaker 1: the back of my head that he could practically have
- 16:05Speaker 1: grabbed or sniffed the hair fuzzies. That's so corros was
- 16:11Speaker 1: His backpack was exceedingly large for a day hiker and
- 16:15Speaker 1: not a hiking backpack, which is fine, just did not
- 16:18Speaker 1: fit with how oversized it was and was jangling. They
- 16:22Speaker 1: talked about the jangling, like what was in there?
- 16:25Speaker 2: I know, wrenches, right, That's kind of where my head went.
- 16:30Speaker 1: There was metal things banging around inside his backpack.
- 16:33Speaker 2: Oh my god, actually wrenches.
- 16:36Speaker 1: No, and loudly too, might iad? I literally picturing a
- 16:42Speaker 1: back of frenches as he's becoming out of breath to
- 16:45Speaker 1: keep up with me, and after making comments about my
- 16:49Speaker 1: seemingly solo hiking. He immediately says to me, this is
- 16:53Speaker 1: the part of the trail where all those hikers went missing.
- 16:58Speaker 1: EWA who says that to somebody? Whose woman say that
- 17:03Speaker 1: out on a trail alone, that's not okay?
- 17:06Speaker 2: That is I feel like another dude would be put
- 17:09Speaker 2: off by that. Seriously, another dude would be like, all
- 17:13Speaker 2: of a sudden like put you know, puff and his
- 17:15Speaker 2: chest up, Like what are you talking about, dude, Like,
- 17:20Speaker 2: why are you saying that when we're out here alone
- 17:22Speaker 2: on this trail.
- 17:23Speaker 1: I hate that because like, what if she actually was alone?
- 17:27Speaker 2: Well, I mean she technically is, Yeah.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Like what if I'm sure this person was thinking like, oh,
- 17:34Speaker 1: you're not actually with somebody, Like you're just saying that,
- 17:38Speaker 1: because that'd be a weird dude in the woods asking
- 17:40Speaker 1: if you're alone. I even ask I at that, and
- 17:45Speaker 1: then I freaked out. And then starts talking about the
- 17:51Speaker 1: bogs and how bodies could just disappear, and about a
- 17:56Speaker 1: pct through hiker who disappeared in that ex zached area
- 18:00Speaker 1: in twenty eighteen. However, he also mentioned something about a
- 18:05Speaker 1: missing woman in the area too. To this day, I
- 18:08Speaker 1: can't find any info on who this might be, or
- 18:12Speaker 1: how far from White Pass he is referring to. I'm
- 18:16Speaker 1: sure so many people go missing out there, right.
- 18:19Speaker 2: The most well known hiker missing near White Pass is
- 18:23Speaker 2: Christopher Sherpa Fowler, a thirty four year old Pacific Crest
- 18:28Speaker 2: Trail through hiker who vanished in October twenty sixteen. He
- 18:34Speaker 2: was last confirmed seen on October twelve, twenty sixteen, at
- 18:37Speaker 2: the Cracker Barrel store in White Pass, before walking into
- 18:42Speaker 2: a severe snow store.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Oh gosh, this is twenty eighteen, though, so I don't know.
- 18:48Speaker 1: Maybe I know, maybe he's got some dates is mixed up.
- 18:52Speaker 1: The way he was describing missing people, missing bodies and
- 18:55Speaker 1: bogs or whatever made my stomach do backflips. I own
- 19:00Speaker 1: had trekking polls at the time. Now I could now
- 19:04Speaker 1: I carry bear spray because of encounters like this, which
- 19:07Speaker 1: is smart in a case of bears.
- 19:10Speaker 2: Yeah, also bears, And I gripped.
- 19:12Speaker 1: Them in my hands and ready myself to whack him
- 19:15Speaker 1: in the face if need be.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Honestly, he was smart. Yeah.
- 19:19Speaker 1: I don't know how to explain it, but I it
- 19:22Speaker 1: was not normal. He was excitedly discussing these missing people
- 19:26Speaker 1: and also telling me he one knew the sheriff on
- 19:30Speaker 1: the case and two volunteered to help look for the
- 19:34Speaker 1: missing PCT hiker in twenty eighteen, and knew where they looked,
- 19:38Speaker 1: which apparently was all in the bog area. He talked
- 19:43Speaker 1: a lot about his time volunteering to search for missing people.
- 19:47Speaker 1: I realized, however, I did not want to preemptively tell
- 19:50Speaker 1: him to fuck off, because making him angry felt wrong instinctually.
- 19:54Speaker 2: Yeah, not always a good strategy.
- 19:58Speaker 1: I wanted him behind me, not ahead of me, where
- 20:01Speaker 1: he could ambush. I don't know. I don't like him
- 20:04Speaker 1: behind me either. None of it's good. Just not to
- 20:07Speaker 1: be around with it, it's good. So I kept him
- 20:11Speaker 1: behind me and asked him for details of his supposed
- 20:14Speaker 1: volunteer work with the local sheriff and looking for whoever
- 20:19Speaker 1: the missing people were. Plus the missing PCT hiker. So
- 20:22Speaker 1: there's just missing people in general who weren't even hiking. Oh,
- 20:26Speaker 1: I don't know. Yeah.
- 20:28Speaker 2: Missing berry picker.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Oh, just picking berries?
- 20:33Speaker 2: Yeah. Went missing in August of twenty eighteen the backcountry
- 20:40Speaker 2: area near Packwood, Washington, which sits directly at the western
- 20:45Speaker 2: base of White Pass, and it says details an eighty
- 20:51Speaker 2: two year old woman became separated from her companions while
- 20:55Speaker 2: mushroom and berry picking. I hate that. There's a couple
- 21:01Speaker 2: of other disappearances. I mean, most of them are like
- 21:06Speaker 2: the high profile one is the twenty sixteen one that
- 21:08Speaker 2: I already told you about. And then there's a couple
- 21:11Speaker 2: in twenty eighteen in the surrounding area. But nothing that's
- 21:15Speaker 2: like super explicitly linked with White Pass. It's like nearby ish.
- 21:22Speaker 1: I wonder if they meant that, if they are talking
- 21:24Speaker 1: about like the twenty sixteen person they.
- 21:26Speaker 2: Might have been, or they might be talking about Samantha Sayers.
- 21:33Speaker 2: She went missing in August of twenty eighteen.
- 21:36Speaker 1: Damn dude.
- 21:38Speaker 2: The location where she went missing, Vesper Peak, is located
- 21:43Speaker 2: further north in the Cascades in Snahomish County. But could
- 21:47Speaker 2: be that she was an experienced tiger though it's us.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Wow, I don't like that. I don't like that at all.
- 21:55Speaker 1: I don't like it.
- 21:56Speaker 2: Yep.
- 21:57Speaker 1: How I know he was bad news was when we
- 22:00Speaker 1: came upon the guy I was hiking with. I thank
- 22:03Speaker 1: you God. I know everyone breathe. My hiking companion was
- 22:07Speaker 1: getting water by a pond, saw me hiking at four
- 22:11Speaker 1: point zero or more miles per hour, which is, oh
- 22:15Speaker 1: my god, that's fast. Yeah.
- 22:17Speaker 2: He's like, that's not hiking anymore. You're just like actively running.
- 22:22Speaker 1: And this creepy dude literally breathing down my neck out
- 22:25Speaker 1: of breath. My hiking companion's eyes got huge, and I
- 22:29Speaker 1: was gesturing to him with my eyes that something was wrong.
- 22:34Speaker 1: I turned around finally and scared the creep behind me
- 22:37Speaker 1: and said with great satisfaction that I was not hiking alone,
- 22:41Speaker 1: and here was my male hiking partner. I told you so,
- 22:46Speaker 1: Oh my god. The creepy man's eyes got wide, and
- 22:50Speaker 1: he said, oh, right, well, nice to meet you, and
- 22:54Speaker 1: said nothing to my hiking partner other than that, and
- 22:58Speaker 1: he took off fucking running down the trail, not hiking,
- 23:02Speaker 1: not jogging, but running. We hiked very fast after him,
- 23:07Speaker 1: and he totally disappeared. No trace of him, no footprints
- 23:10Speaker 1: in the mud as we approached the trailhead, nothing, no
- 23:15Speaker 1: other side trails he could have taken. My hiking friend
- 23:19Speaker 1: and I stopped to eat, and I was shaking, and
- 23:22Speaker 1: I told him about the man and his talk of
- 23:24Speaker 1: bodies and the strange backpack, and we both agreed something
- 23:28Speaker 1: was off, especially as the man took off running for
- 23:31Speaker 1: his life away from my male hiking partner. Had I
- 23:36Speaker 1: actually been hiking alone, I have no idea what would
- 23:39Speaker 1: have happened. We were close to White Pass, but still
- 23:43Speaker 1: a couple of hours away. I reported the encounter to
- 23:47Speaker 1: the ranger via phone, who then reported it to the
- 23:50Speaker 1: Cracker Barrel along with the older white man's description.
- 23:55Speaker 2: Cracker Barrel is playing an outsized role in this story. Crazy.
- 24:00Speaker 1: What is this Cracker Barrel?
- 24:02Speaker 2: It's with a k Okay, so this is technically located
- 24:06Speaker 2: in It's not just Washington. It is Cracker Barrel with
- 24:12Speaker 2: a K. It's a Cracker Barrel store and services. That's
- 24:18Speaker 2: where he left from.
- 24:19Speaker 1: It was not a Cracker Barrel restaurant. It's like a
- 24:24Speaker 1: gas station and convenience store that like they offer laundry
- 24:28Speaker 1: services and food. Is it like a town because it
- 24:31Speaker 1: at the top it says Cracker Barrel aka White Pass
- 24:36Speaker 1: a resupply point for the pct Okay, all her showers
- 24:41Speaker 1: and stuff I see. So it's like when you get
- 24:44Speaker 1: to like the White Pass, it's not like a town.
- 24:47Speaker 1: It's just like a little icee. Got it. We're following.
- 24:52Speaker 1: So they reported it to the Cracker barrel, which I
- 24:56Speaker 1: assume has like it's like a hub or whatever. I
- 25:00Speaker 1: would think for truck cars and for hikers. So if
- 25:03Speaker 1: you want the information out, like that's where you would
- 25:05Speaker 1: put it. Perhaps he was just a strange guy. Well,
- 25:08Speaker 1: he was for sure overly interested in the missing hiker
- 25:12Speaker 1: case and local missing people. I mean, I guess we
- 25:16Speaker 1: are too.
- 25:16Speaker 2: It's possible, but like I wouldn't go out and talk
- 25:20Speaker 2: about shit.
- 25:21Speaker 1: Like that and like follow someone and like run next.
- 25:24Speaker 1: That is creepy, like running behind somebody to keep up
- 25:27Speaker 1: with them. Oh yeah, no, don't do that, and way
- 25:31Speaker 1: interested in my hiking alone, seemingly, but the whole thing
- 25:36Speaker 1: felt so so so wrong at least say my instincts.
- 25:41Speaker 1: I now Carrie Spray when I later did the Continental
- 25:45Speaker 1: Divide Trail, for example, because of situations like this. Curious
- 25:50Speaker 1: if anyone, if anyone, has had weird encounters in this
- 25:54Speaker 1: area of Washington. The first comment says, you need a gun.
- 26:01Speaker 2: I mean, not always a fan of that, but like.
- 26:06Speaker 1: Maybe yeah, yikes, I know that one like felt real
- 26:13Speaker 1: like true crime. It was. It was creepy, it like
- 26:15Speaker 1: in the paranormal way, like very very true crimey. Definitely, Oh,
- 26:21Speaker 1: the story raised all the red flags. A lot of
- 26:25Speaker 1: people in the comments are talking about volunteers who like
- 26:27Speaker 1: to search for people they've murdered, and I hate that.
- 26:31Speaker 2: It's true. They stuck, they try to stay close to
- 26:35Speaker 2: the investigation. So if that's a.
- 26:37Speaker 1: Thing, like what.
- 26:41Speaker 2: Well, I mean number one, I think you can look
- 26:44Speaker 2: at it from the perspective of like they want to
- 26:46Speaker 2: be tipped off to developments in the investigation, and that's
- 26:50Speaker 2: a as good a way to do that as any arguably,
- 26:57Speaker 2: And then also like it gives them like kind of
- 27:00Speaker 2: a sick thrill from like from what I've always heard,
- 27:06Speaker 2: it's gross.
- 27:08Speaker 1: Ew I found another one another comment that says that's
- 27:12Speaker 1: creepy as fuck. I had a coworker who had something
- 27:15Speaker 1: really similar happen back in twenty twenty two while hiking
- 27:18Speaker 1: in Washington. The guy they ran into sounded almost the same,
- 27:22Speaker 1: older white hair, weirdly fixated on whether they were hiking alone,
- 27:27Speaker 1: but instead of a mustache, he just had a goateee.
- 27:31Speaker 1: The whole encounter gave them the chills in the same way.
- 27:34Speaker 1: That sounds like the same fucking guy. Yeah, okay, watch
- 27:38Speaker 1: out for older white dudes with like short cargolis and backpack.
- 27:47Speaker 2: To be honest, should.
- 27:50Speaker 1: We do another one?
- 27:52Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 27:53Speaker 1: This is from deleted user.
- 27:56Speaker 2: Oh those are always kind of like they posted. It's
- 28:00Speaker 2: like a throwaway, which sometimes come across as.
- 28:04Speaker 1: Like a little suspect. But this is like very detailed though.
- 28:09Speaker 1: Oh so I think maybe maybe they just didn't want
- 28:13Speaker 1: a retta anymore. I don't know, have you seen the
- 28:16Speaker 1: green orbs? I am posting this everywhere I feel it
- 28:21Speaker 1: might get some attention. Okay, well maybe we're onto something.
- 28:25Speaker 1: But we're gonna go through with this anyway because I've
- 28:27Speaker 1: already picked it. This is a true story about something
- 28:31Speaker 1: I experienced as a child. My name is Ahvi. When
- 28:35Speaker 1: I was six years old, I lived in a small
- 28:37Speaker 1: town in western Washington State. The city is very close
- 28:40Speaker 1: to a forest area and the population is mostly backwoods
- 28:44Speaker 1: country type in the year nineteen ninety eight. I think
- 28:48Speaker 1: I was living That's what makes me think, like the
- 28:51Speaker 1: details like that, like nineteen ninety eight, I think because
- 28:55Speaker 1: I was a kid, like that makes me think it's
- 28:56Speaker 1: like kind of real, you know. Yeah, I was living
- 28:59Speaker 1: in town. At night came where something strange and unique happened.
- 29:05Speaker 1: My child mind couldn't fully grasp what was happening, but
- 29:08Speaker 1: neither could the adults who witnessed this, my parents and grandparents,
- 29:13Speaker 1: my uncle, a police officer, okay, and all of our neighbors.
- 29:19Speaker 1: That's a lot of people. Actually, yeah, that witness a
- 29:22Speaker 1: lot of people, Okay, witnessed a large number of floating,
- 29:26Speaker 1: slash flying green balls of light. They were around softball size,
- 29:32Speaker 1: maybe a little bigger. My mother has reminisced about the
- 29:36Speaker 1: night and told me about how they chased my grandmother's
- 29:41Speaker 1: dog up the street and would pace the local traffic
- 29:45Speaker 1: so like they were going the same speed as the traffic.
- 29:47Speaker 2: Oh. Interesting.
- 29:49Speaker 1: A family friend admitted to seeing them in the nearby
- 29:52Speaker 1: highway at night. My family has a very religious background,
- 29:56Speaker 1: so their thoughts were that this was sinister and e
- 30:00Speaker 1: but my but my memories are different. I vividly remember
- 30:08Speaker 1: the green balls connecting in lines of five or so
- 30:12Speaker 1: and spinning around like a baton. The sounds like it
- 30:16Speaker 1: just sounds like drones.
- 30:18Speaker 2: Oh kind of.
- 30:20Speaker 1: I think that's what drones do, Like they connect and
- 30:23Speaker 1: then they spin in like a line. I don't know,
- 30:28Speaker 1: but this is nineteen eighty eight, so I don't think
- 30:30Speaker 1: they had the drones.
- 30:32Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I don't know they like just average people.
- 30:37Speaker 1: Yeah, could. And this is also very like of UFOs.
- 30:42Speaker 1: This is like something that's pretty common with those stories too,
- 30:45Speaker 1: so true. They spun around like a baton and then
- 30:49Speaker 1: unlinking to fly free again. They would hover just above
- 30:53Speaker 1: the street, up around the street lights, and just everywhere
- 30:56Speaker 1: in between. My mother kept ushering my brother and I
- 30:59Speaker 1: in sign out of fear, but I was not afraid.
- 31:02Speaker 1: This may have been because I was young and unconditioned,
- 31:07Speaker 1: but they had lights that didn't seem dangerous to me.
- 31:10Speaker 1: There must have been at least a hundred of them.
- 31:13Speaker 1: That's a lot of green, little floating orbs.
- 31:17Speaker 2: That's I would say, arguably too many.
- 31:24Speaker 1: It's kind of a lot. I have theories about them,
- 31:27Speaker 1: but I've never been able to find any other encounters,
- 31:30Speaker 1: so this is my newest attempt. I've even put up
- 31:34Speaker 1: local flyers with my email to try to get anonymous stories.
- 31:39Speaker 1: People in that area just don't like to talk about
- 31:42Speaker 1: the stuff, which I calling. You could go either way. Yeah,
- 31:48Speaker 1: to the credit of my religious family, they did seem
- 31:52Speaker 1: to cause the lights to leave. I remember the last
- 31:55Speaker 1: time I saw them was as my grandmother was praying
- 31:58Speaker 1: and telling them to leave. They suddenly stopped, and all
- 32:01Speaker 1: at once, they shot up into the sky and disappeared forever. Okay, okay,
- 32:09Speaker 1: I have wanted to see them again ever since. I'm
- 32:12Speaker 1: twenty seven now, and I'm still left wondering what they were.
- 32:17Speaker 1: My main theory is extraterrestrial. Mine too. My mother supports
- 32:23Speaker 1: us because she remembers seeing a large craft with spinning
- 32:27Speaker 1: lights on it in the sky. I have actually dreamt
- 32:30Speaker 1: of this as an adult. Anyway, Please, if you or
- 32:34Speaker 1: anyone you know has seen these lights or anything like this,
- 32:38Speaker 1: I would find a lot of peace in just knowing
- 32:41Speaker 1: that my little hometown is not alone. So I want
- 32:45Speaker 1: to see in the comments if anyone else.
- 32:47Speaker 2: What they say.
- 32:48Speaker 1: Yeah, someone else posts that they were walking home and
- 32:52Speaker 1: saw green orb of some kind floating two to three
- 32:55Speaker 1: feet in the air. Okay, and it moved to the
- 32:59Speaker 1: pond and ooh, it went into the water and disappeared.
- 33:02Speaker 2: Okay. See that sounds less like a drone to me.
- 33:06Speaker 1: Yeah, like a lot of UFOs I feel go into
- 33:10Speaker 1: the water and disappear. It's like they can do. They
- 33:13Speaker 1: they're like air boats, like they can fly and go
- 33:17Speaker 1: in the water like submarine.
- 33:18Speaker 2: Amphibious.
- 33:19Speaker 1: Yeah oo, have you evers any green floating lights?
- 33:24Speaker 2: No? I mean I'll be watching for them. Now.
- 33:29Speaker 1: Does anyone listening seeing green floating lights? Let's now send
- 33:34Speaker 1: us your own story at PNW Haunts and as ees
- 33:36Speaker 1: at gmail dot com and we'll read them.
- 33:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:45Speaker 1: I feel like there's a lot of comments saying, like
- 33:48Speaker 1: people see green floating lights. I have some pictures I
- 33:51Speaker 1: caught of one dm me from deleted user not cooln
- 33:58Speaker 1: man Neon. I think it's really interesting that, like the
- 34:03Speaker 1: mom was praying or the grandma was praying for them
- 34:06Speaker 1: to go away, and they just went away forever. Like
- 34:09Speaker 1: what is that? Do they hear you? Because I don't
- 34:12Speaker 1: think they're like demons.
- 34:14Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 34:15Speaker 1: Maybe the aliens heard and they're like, oh shit, Like
- 34:18Speaker 1: we don't want We're so nice, we don't want to
- 34:20Speaker 1: scare these people.
- 34:22Speaker 2: Do you think they're nice?
- 34:26Speaker 1: They didn't do anything bad. They were just flying around
- 34:30Speaker 1: true a dog, trying to see what was up with
- 34:33Speaker 1: the dog. Maybe they just wanted to pet it.
- 34:35Speaker 2: I mean I can relate to that. Let me pet
- 34:37Speaker 2: that down that that's me all day every day.
- 34:43Speaker 1: There's actually a lot of comments on here about other
- 34:46Speaker 1: people who have seen green lights interesting, very weird, Like
- 34:51Speaker 1: they keep going and there's there keeps being more commons
- 34:55Speaker 1: you guys.
- 34:56Speaker 2: That's really interesting.
- 34:58Speaker 1: I just feel like whenever they're there's a lot.
- 35:01Speaker 2: Of people kind of hearing the same thing. That to me,
- 35:06Speaker 2: I'm like, okay, okay, there might be something to that.
- 35:11Speaker 1: I wasn't really expecting to see like a lot of
- 35:13Speaker 1: comments on here because it was like a deleted poster.
- 35:16Speaker 2: But yeah, yeah, I mean you wouldn't. I feel like
- 35:19Speaker 2: a lot of times you just would. I wouldn't expect
- 35:22Speaker 2: that either.
- 35:24Speaker 1: WHOA is this normal for Reddit?
- 35:27Speaker 2: No?
- 35:28Speaker 1: Why is there redacted I've not ever seen that. Actually, dude,
- 35:35Speaker 1: men and black are on this shit. There's redacted stuff
- 35:38Speaker 1: in the comments of this.
- 35:40Speaker 2: That doesn't make anyone to me, that doesn't make anything.
- 35:47Speaker 1: Oh when you click on it uncovers Oh okay, so.
- 35:51Speaker 2: That's a little unique Reddit trick. I guess that they're
- 35:55Speaker 2: aware of that. We were not.
- 35:58Speaker 1: Let's go to the next one, which is this is
- 36:02Speaker 1: also a deleted user deleted users called creepy in a
- 36:10Speaker 1: kind of funny way. Okay, about seven years ago, my
- 36:14Speaker 1: friend and I were walking down the railroad tracks outside
- 36:17Speaker 1: of Eugene, Oregon, ou jene Ugane. We were pretty far
- 36:24Speaker 1: because eventually we were surrounded by nothing but forest, not
- 36:28Speaker 1: a car, road or house. Insight, I almost had a horse.
- 36:34Speaker 1: We kept walking when we noticed a figure in the
- 36:36Speaker 1: distance moving in our direction. It was a man in
- 36:40Speaker 1: his early twenties on a bicycle, riding down an old,
- 36:43Speaker 1: rarely used, overgrown dirt road. As he got closer, I
- 36:48Speaker 1: began feeling uneasy, so we stepped off the tracks and
- 36:52Speaker 1: tried to make ourselves less visible without blatantly hiding. That's
- 36:56Speaker 1: really hard to do. Actually, that's fairy. I'm just minding
- 37:01Speaker 1: my own business, ducking down behind this bush.
- 37:08Speaker 2: Just casually hiding.
- 37:11Speaker 1: He got to write about where we were, maybe fifteen
- 37:14Speaker 1: feet away from us, and he stopped. He was wearing
- 37:17Speaker 1: a black hoodie, knee high socks, and a thong. Yes,
- 37:22Speaker 1: a thong, Okay, no pants. We're not talking about thongs
- 37:26Speaker 1: as in like a silly way of saying flip flip flops. Nope,
- 37:34Speaker 1: we're talking cisco here. That the bombo.
- 37:38Speaker 2: Oh boy, oh boy, that is a lot.
- 37:44Speaker 1: No pants? Did I say no pants? Did I mention
- 37:47Speaker 1: no pants? He looked at the ground and looked ahead,
- 37:51Speaker 1: never once looking in our direction. Then he began maybe
- 37:55Speaker 1: because he's wearing a thong, and he's like, fuck, I
- 37:57Speaker 1: ran into people. I'm wearing a thong. When I do,
- 37:59Speaker 1: if I look at them, I'm looking creepy. It's like
- 38:05Speaker 1: the opposite of this hiker guy on the Pacific crystiald Yes,
- 38:09Speaker 1: this guy doesn't want to be seen. He has like
- 38:12Speaker 1: absolutely the opposite vibe. Then he began building up his
- 38:17Speaker 1: momentum again and took off down the road. We were
- 38:21Speaker 1: pretty weirded out by this and figured it would be
- 38:24Speaker 1: best to continue our course as we didn't want to
- 38:28Speaker 1: follow the trajectory of the thing cyclist. Does he mean
- 38:34Speaker 1: the thong cyclist?
- 38:37Speaker 2: I mean I feel like I could go either way.
- 38:39Speaker 1: I feel like he meant the thong cyclist. Okay. We
- 38:44Speaker 1: walked for another twenty minutes when we saw another figure
- 38:47Speaker 1: in the distance. It was another man on a bike
- 38:51Speaker 1: with a black hoodie, knee high sucks and the thong.
- 38:57Speaker 2: Wait, are you telling me there's more than one? Am
- 39:00Speaker 2: I there's two? Okay.
- 39:04Speaker 1: This guy was blonde, though, which is worse. The other
- 39:08Speaker 1: had dark hair. He was riding across the road, but
- 39:10Speaker 1: stopped in the center and stared at us. At this point,
- 39:14Speaker 1: we decided the best move would be to go back
- 39:17Speaker 1: to my buddy's house because we didn't want to run
- 39:19Speaker 1: into any more of these individuals.
- 39:22Speaker 2: Okay, I mean, I guess I get it. I guess
- 39:26Speaker 2: I get it.
- 39:28Speaker 1: So there. It is definitely not the weirdest or creepiest
- 39:31Speaker 1: thing I've ever experienced, but I'd certainly categorize it as
- 39:36Speaker 1: one of them, one of the weirdest.
- 39:39Speaker 2: That's up there, I would say, I mean, for me,
- 39:42Speaker 2: I feel like that that's up there. Yeah, okay, Thong cyclists,
- 39:52Speaker 2: that is really something special.
- 39:55Speaker 1: Do you want to know what bald Chihuahua has to say? Oh?
- 39:59Speaker 2: You know, oh I do.
- 40:00Speaker 1: This is typical of Eugene. This is a typical Eugene
- 40:05Speaker 1: forest experience. That's too much. That's too much. Gotta be
- 40:13Speaker 1: a fraternity hazing.
- 40:16Speaker 2: Oh and in Eugene like that that might make sense.
- 40:21Speaker 2: That's just yeah.
- 40:23Speaker 1: Yeah, was it naked bike right day? Just they weren't
- 40:26Speaker 1: in Portland?
- 40:28Speaker 2: Oh shit, Yeah, Eugene's like, hey, we're with you in spirit,
- 40:31Speaker 2: and then they're like, we're the only two out here.
- 40:35Speaker 2: Oh awkward, that is awkward.
- 40:39Speaker 1: I don't know. Maybe they just got like off their
- 40:43Speaker 1: shift they didn't feel like putting their pants on because
- 40:46Speaker 1: it's hot. Who wants a red bike and pants? Yeah?
- 40:50Speaker 2: I mean there's no reason to endure pantage.
- 40:54Speaker 1: They can get stuck in your chain, you yep?
- 40:58Speaker 2: I mean so many any potential problems really if you
- 41:02Speaker 2: think about it.
- 41:04Speaker 1: I'm curious though, Like you run into two people dressed
- 41:06Speaker 1: like that? That is that is pretty interesting. Like I
- 41:11Speaker 1: really don't know. I really don't know. I really don't know.
- 41:15Speaker 2: I would prod maybe it's uh, it's a little troubling.
- 41:20Speaker 1: Should we I don't know. Should we see the tarot
- 41:25Speaker 1: provide us some guidance, won't you? You want to shuffle
- 41:29Speaker 1: a little and then I can. Yeah, well it makes
- 41:36Speaker 1: me want to do weird stuff in public and end
- 41:38Speaker 1: up like a creepy Reddit story, but not like so
- 41:42Speaker 1: creepy that someone thinks I'm going to murder them. Yeah,
- 41:45Speaker 1: not that creepy. That's not cool.
- 41:47Speaker 2: Yeah, that's not that's not creepy in a good way.
- 41:52Speaker 1: That it rut. Wow, we're pulling a card for these
- 41:57Speaker 1: Reddit stories. There was an outdoorsy theme, so I feel
- 42:03Speaker 1: like our PNW duck is going to be good. I
- 42:06Speaker 1: don't know. I was looking at this one when I
- 42:08Speaker 1: pulled them out. I don't think I've ever seen this one. Okay, okay, okay.
- 42:13Speaker 1: We got three pentacles and it's got it got beige
- 42:18Speaker 1: on it. They're not honeybees. They're all look it up interesting,
- 42:23Speaker 1: they're different kind of stinging insect wasp wasp. It's three
- 42:29Speaker 1: of pentacles, three of pentacles. And I have a very
- 42:32Speaker 1: funny story about a giant black wasp that was in
- 42:38Speaker 1: the house the other day. In this house I'm house
- 42:40Speaker 1: sitting and I literally was like, what do I do?
- 42:44Speaker 1: It scared me because I didn't know if it I
- 42:46Speaker 1: feel like looking it up. It might have been a
- 42:48Speaker 1: mud dauber, which a mud dabber. They're just like a
- 42:52Speaker 1: big wasp.
- 42:54Speaker 2: Uh.
- 42:55Speaker 1: How have I never heard of that? They build their
- 42:57Speaker 1: nests out of mud, and they're apparently like not.
- 43:00Speaker 2: Oh they look so freaky.
- 43:02Speaker 1: Is it black?
- 43:03Speaker 2: Yeah? They look like they also have yellow. Some of them,
- 43:07Speaker 2: I don't know, must be more than kind.
- 43:09Speaker 1: It might have been different. It was super black like
- 43:11Speaker 1: it was. It was like this big, like three inches long.
- 43:15Speaker 1: It was flying around the house and so I put
- 43:18Speaker 1: the dogs like outside in the sideyard to try to
- 43:21Speaker 1: get this thing. I was trying to get it out
- 43:23Speaker 1: the door and like be nice to it, but it
- 43:25Speaker 1: was not having it. And so I found a broom
- 43:28Speaker 1: and I was chasing this bitch around. Oh shit with
- 43:31Speaker 1: the froom. I could not get it, and I thought.
- 43:34Speaker 1: I was like, I don't what to do. So I
- 43:35Speaker 1: opened the window and I finally got in like the
- 43:38Speaker 1: window screen, and I shut it and I was like,
- 43:40Speaker 1: I'm done with you.
- 43:42Speaker 2: That's honestly smart. So Wikipedia says mud dabbers are not
- 43:48Speaker 2: normally aggressive, but can become belligerent when threatened.
- 43:52Speaker 1: It was so belligerent. Yeah, it was lligerent as fuck.
- 43:57Speaker 1: I was trying to get it out side, but it wouldn't.
- 43:59Speaker 1: It would and I was like, I'm not hanging out
- 44:02Speaker 1: in this house with you flying around.
- 44:04Speaker 2: Apparently stings are uncommon, so like they're not an aggressive breed,
- 44:09Speaker 2: but like if you if you trouble them, they shall
- 44:14Speaker 2: become belligerent, like it was Saint Patrick, and I.
- 44:18Speaker 1: Was like, this is gonna fly. It's gonna get stuck
- 44:21Speaker 1: in my hair. It's gonna get stuck in the dog's
- 44:23Speaker 1: hair because the dogs are hairy and sting, and.
- 44:26Speaker 2: I don't harry, They're really scary.
- 44:30Speaker 1: I didn't want any part of it. All right. These
- 44:33Speaker 1: are paper wasps, by the way, My.
- 44:36Speaker 2: God, there's why are there so many types?
- 44:39Speaker 1: I don't know, and they're in the card. I think
- 44:41Speaker 1: they're building their nest. Like I thought this was a flower,
- 44:44Speaker 1: but I think they're building.
- 44:46Speaker 2: Oh no, that's yeah, it for sure is like a honeycomb. Yeah,
- 44:49Speaker 2: this looks like like it looks like a bee honeycomb.
- 44:54Speaker 2: That's so creepy.
- 44:56Speaker 1: Oh. A collaboration working hard towards the sh shared goal, craftsmanship, apprenticeship,
- 45:03Speaker 1: and learning. And I'm gonna read this just because I
- 45:06Speaker 1: don't think we've gotten this card before.
- 45:09Speaker 2: I feel like we have, but not frequently.
- 45:12Speaker 1: Maybe we have that I don't know. The wasp picked
- 45:16Speaker 1: her way carefully upside down along the edge of the construction.
- 45:20Speaker 1: She worked her mandibles and now she worked her mandibles
- 45:26Speaker 1: to mix water and wood, making a lightweight building material.
- 45:31Speaker 1: Then she applied the pulp on the outside of the construction,
- 45:35Speaker 1: making new walls. Neighboring cells pressed on the drying paper
- 45:39Speaker 1: from the outside, while a newly deposited egg applied pressure
- 45:45Speaker 1: from within opposing forces, making a hexagonal shape. More wasp
- 45:53Speaker 1: spread protective chemicals and continued the expansion, making a colony
- 45:58Speaker 1: larger than themselves. Sell by cell, the wasps expanded the
- 46:02Speaker 1: nest in a spiral outward. Each new concavity added not
- 46:08Speaker 1: only to the design, but to the population as well.
- 46:13Speaker 1: Larvae were covered and safeguarded by the structure until they
- 46:17Speaker 1: were ready to begin working on it themselves. Craft workers
- 46:21Speaker 1: made by their ancestors. Craft. Oh interesting, I don't know
- 46:26Speaker 1: what that has to do with anything in these Redis stories.
- 46:31Speaker 2: I don't know. I mean they're crafting narratives. So there's that. Okay,
- 46:38Speaker 2: and we drew this upright, yes, okay, the Three of Pentacles.
- 46:43Speaker 2: Our keywords are creativity, self expression, skill, satisfaction and rewards.
- 46:51Speaker 1: Ooh okay, wait, but the creativity and self expression reminds
- 46:54Speaker 1: me of the thong sickliss.
- 46:57Speaker 2: Oh boy, the car of the crafts person. The Three
- 47:02Speaker 2: of Pentacles often depicts a skilled artisan at work, which
- 47:06Speaker 2: actually kind of reminds me of that. I mean, that's
- 47:10Speaker 2: why they picked the paper wasp. I think, yeah, for
- 47:13Speaker 2: the PNW deck.
- 47:15Speaker 1: What if that? What if that's talking about that? The
- 47:18Speaker 1: creepy old man hiker and the shorty cargo shorts. He's
- 47:21Speaker 1: a skilled worker. What did it say? A skilled was
- 47:24Speaker 1: like artisan? Yeah, in his craft, and his craft is
- 47:29Speaker 1: killing people on the trail.
- 47:30Speaker 2: No, in some decks, he's building a cathedral, reminiscent of
- 47:35Speaker 2: the carpenters and masons who constructed Europe's great cathedrals and
- 47:41Speaker 2: who evolved into the freemasons.
- 47:45Speaker 1: Hmm, maybe they were the ones hazing in the thongs.
- 47:52Speaker 2: Maybe the free Mason's haze. I don't know that that.
- 47:57Speaker 1: I mean, they wouldn't tell us that they do, right.
- 48:00Speaker 2: Excellent point three signify self expression, creative development, and reaping rewards.
- 48:09Speaker 2: So this positive card shows a time of satisfaction. The
- 48:14Speaker 2: upbraid three represents expressing your creativity in a practical way
- 48:19Speaker 2: and enjoying your work. You've developed your skills. Now you
- 48:23Speaker 2: gain rewards and recognition from applying your talents constructively. Okay,
- 48:28Speaker 2: I hate to say it, but that is reminding me
- 48:30Speaker 2: of the creepy old man jogger.
- 48:33Speaker 1: Yeah, well my first story. I don't remember.
- 48:38Speaker 2: You're asking me.
- 48:41Speaker 1: Also, it reminds me of like the flying around the
- 48:44Speaker 1: Green Orbs.
- 48:45Speaker 2: Oh, the Habit Trail.
- 48:46Speaker 1: Oh it was the happy Trail. Yeah yeah, yeah, but
- 48:49Speaker 1: it reminds me of like the floating. The green orbs
- 48:51Speaker 1: that are all like floating around could be like kind
- 48:54Speaker 1: of insect, like you know, yeah, hey, no, you're all
- 48:59Speaker 1: wrapped up in my or your little Sharlotte.
- 49:03Speaker 2: She definitely will chew on courts. They are frequently sacrificed
- 49:09Speaker 2: to the God other people to derive pleasure from what
- 49:15Speaker 2: you do. This card can also encourage you to market
- 49:18Speaker 2: a product, idea, or talent. In a reading about money,
- 49:23Speaker 2: this card indicates profiting from your work. You could think
- 49:27Speaker 2: of it as the payback card when your efforts bear fruit.
- 49:32Speaker 2: It may also show a financial endeavor coming to fruition
- 49:36Speaker 2: or at least beginning to prosper.
- 49:39Speaker 1: Hmm, I don't know about that.
- 49:42Speaker 2: If the reading is about your job, you're using your
- 49:45Speaker 2: abilities fully and achieving success. What you create now should
- 49:50Speaker 2: have lasting results you can be proud of and enjoy.
- 49:56Speaker 2: The upright three may signify the satisfactory completion of a
- 50:00Speaker 2: project or job. In a reading about love, loerve you've
- 50:08Speaker 2: worked through challenges and invested a lot of effort in
- 50:11Speaker 2: a relationship. Now things are on the upswing and you
- 50:15Speaker 2: can enjoy your relationship. Contentment and security are yours. Maybe
- 50:22Speaker 2: that's just maybe that's just me being worried about the bees.
- 50:28Speaker 1: I don't know. I was trying to relate it to
- 50:29Speaker 1: any of these stories, but I'm not sure. Maybe it
- 50:33Speaker 1: just like the bees and the wilderness and the outdoors
- 50:36Speaker 1: is like the big connection here.
- 50:39Speaker 2: I mean, Reddit is kind of like a beehive. Yeah,
- 50:43Speaker 2: that is true, if nothing else, And like all.
- 50:45Speaker 1: The comments inside the comments, inside the comments, you know,
- 50:49Speaker 1: or like yeah, yeah, the concavities, the concavity, everyone's buzzing around,
- 50:58Speaker 1: buzzing around Reddit. Well, god, I had fun reading Reddit stories.
- 51:04Speaker 2: I too, enjoyed this immensely.
- 51:08Speaker 1: Nobody go to the Hobbit Trail. Nobody hike the Pacific
- 51:11Speaker 1: Crest Trail.
- 51:12Speaker 2: Nobody stay inside, drink lots of water, go to bed early.
- 51:18Speaker 1: Run If you see a thong bicyclist.
- 51:23Speaker 2: I don't think you have to worry about that. I will, indeed.
- 51:26Speaker 1: Run, I might run towards it, am I right? No, okay,
- 51:35Speaker 1: pick one thong bicyclist or creepy old man in short
- 51:38Speaker 1: cargo shorts.
- 51:40Speaker 2: I don't know. At least guy in the cargo shorts.
- 51:44Speaker 2: Was it enabled by faster transport?
- 51:47Speaker 1: That's true, she could outrun him even though he was
- 51:50Speaker 1: breathing down her seven year old.
- 51:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm just saying, don't put a man on a bike.
- 51:58Speaker 1: Yeah that's true, all right.
- 52:01Speaker 2: Like ride bikes as a man, but like don't like
- 52:04Speaker 2: I seen Yeah, no, no, it's perfectly acceptable to ride
- 52:09Speaker 2: a bike. I just, I just if someone has to
- 52:13Speaker 2: be approaching me, particularly when I'm in an isolated or
- 52:17Speaker 2: uncomfortable situation, I would like the advantage of, you know,
- 52:21Speaker 2: being able to rely on, uh, getting away. I just
- 52:25Speaker 2: I just want to get away, get.
- 52:27Speaker 1: Away, carry, bear, spray all the things. Okay, should we
- 52:34Speaker 1: do the thing? Say goodbye. Let let people have their summers,
- 52:37Speaker 1: you know, you know, go summer.
- 52:40Speaker 2: Go summer. Have a creepy day, you say, Or on
- 52:49Speaker 2: the PCT, on the PCT and your though.
- 52:54Speaker 1: That you know people do that naked sometimes.
- 53:00Speaker 2: You mean the naked bike ride.
- 53:03Speaker 1: I mean the PCT. What No, I know someone who
- 53:06Speaker 1: did the PCT and they had like a naked day.
- 53:09Speaker 2: Oh, and like that's cool if you're in a.
- 53:12Speaker 1: Group, Like, maybe just don't be a naked man walking around.
- 53:17Speaker 2: I feel like solo nakedness outside of your home maybe
- 53:21Speaker 2: slightly less cool.
- 53:23Speaker 1: Maybe maybe don't maybe don't cover your pain, all right,
