- 0:00Hello friends! Welcome back to Wonderfully Made,
- 0:04Bible Stories for Children. I'm so glad you're
- 0:08here. Last time, we heard how God spoke to Solomon
- 0:13after the temple was built. God gave Solomon
- 0:17a promise, but also a warning. God explained
- 0:21that Solomon would be blessed if he continued
- 0:24to obey. but that trouble would come if Solomon
- 0:27turned away and followed false gods. Today, we'll
- 0:32see what happens as Solomon grows older. His
- 0:36kingdom becomes richer and more powerful than
- 0:39ever before. People from faraway lands come to
- 0:43see him. Solomon becomes famous across the world.
- 0:47But the big question is this. Will Solomon keep
- 0:52trusting God? Or will Solomon begin to drift
- 0:56away? Let's begin. As the years passed, Solomon
- 1:12became the richest king the world had ever seen.
- 1:16He built great buildings. He had beautiful palaces.
- 1:22He had gold, silver, and treasures from many
- 1:25nations. His kingdom was filled with peace and
- 1:29success. People came from far away just to hear
- 1:33Solomon's wisdom. One of those visitors was a
- 1:37powerful queen from a distant land. The queen
- 1:41of Sheba. She came to test Solomon with hard
- 1:45questions. She saw Solomon's wealth, his servants.
- 1:50and the way his kingdom was organized. She listened
- 1:54to his wisdom. She even saw the temple Solomon
- 1:58had built for the Lord. The queen of Sheba was
- 2:02amazed. She praised the Lord because she could
- 2:05see that God had blessed Solomon greatly. Solomon's
- 2:10life looked like a great success. But something
- 2:13was happening quietly in Solomon's heart. He
- 2:17began to marry many women from other nations.
- 2:21These women did not worship the Lord. They worshipped
- 2:25false gods. And over time, he began to listen
- 2:30to them. As he grew older, his wives turned his
- 2:34heart away from the Lord. Instead of worshipping
- 2:38the one true God with all his heart, Solomon
- 2:41began to build places of worship for idols. This
- 2:46was very serious. Because Solomon knew the truth.
- 2:51Solomon had built the temple. Solomon had prayed
- 2:55to God. Solomon had been warned. But Solomon
- 2:59drifted anyway. And this teaches us something
- 3:03very important. A person can be very wise and
- 3:08still make foolish choices. God was angry with
- 3:12Solomon. because Solomon's heart had turned away,
- 3:16even though God had appeared to him and warned
- 3:19him. God had given him so much wisdom, peace,
- 3:25and blessings, but Solomon did not remain faithful.
- 3:30And because Solomon turned away, God said he
- 3:34would tear the kingdom away from Solomon's family,
- 3:37and only part of it would remain with Solomon's
- 3:41son. The kingdom would eventually be divided.
- 3:45Solomon's sin would not destroy God's plan, but
- 3:49it would bring trouble to Israel. This is a sad
- 3:58part of Solomon's story. He started with wisdom,
- 4:01worship and obedience. But later, Solomon began
- 4:06to drift away from God. Let's think about a few
- 4:11things together. Have you ever started doing
- 4:16the right thing, but slowly got distracted? Who
- 4:22are the people in your life that help you follow
- 4:25God? And who might pull you away? His story teaches
- 4:31us something very important. Wisdom is a gift
- 4:35from God. but we must keep obeying God every
- 4:39day. Because it's not enough to start well. God
- 4:44wants us to stay faithful. And even when we feel
- 4:48successful, we still need to listen to God's
- 4:52word. Thanks for joining me today. Next time
- 4:57on Wonderfully Made, we'll see what happens after
- 5:01Solomon dies. Will Israel stay united? Or will
- 5:06the kingdom begin to break apart, just like God
- 5:09warned? And what happens when leaders choose
- 5:13pride instead of obedience? We'll find out next
- 5:17time. Until then, remember, you are wonderfully
- 5:21made, and God cares about your heart. Bye for
- 5:26now.
