  lower 48 and vast Parts of Alaska, and Hawaii, and Puerto

  Rico, and territorial Waters. And even vast parts of the

  world's oceans. Does that sound good to you?

  And it's also something that we'd like to work in all the

  territories of foreign Nations as well.

  And so this is in addition to something we're doing in the

  Second generation satellites, will be able to broadcast

  director cell phones. So the cell phones you're

  holding up. There it will be able to brought
• 11:50
  transmitted directly to your cellular Mobile mobile phone.

  So now this, this this would have the kind of bandwidth that
• 11:58
  a starlink terminal would have But it will enable texting, it
• 12:03
  will enable images. And if you're if you're if there
• 12:08
  aren't too many people in the in the cells own, you could even
• 12:10
  potentially have a little bit of video.

  So the important thing about this is that it means there's no
• 12:16
  dead zones anywhere in the world, for your cell phone, and

  It's going to massively improve people's convenience and it's

  And the the way we're doing this is with really quite quite big

  antenna. So people might be wondering

  what? Technology is necessary to make

  this work and in order to make this work, you have to have to

  have as you might expect. Very big ears.

  So, big antennas on the satellites and Powerful antennas
• 14:01
  and need a, you need a lot of satellites and but that's kind
• 14:05
  of what we have with the stalling Gen 2 satellites.

  So it's sort of a perfect addition to the Starling
• 14:12
  satellites and likes that. We're incredibly excited to be a
• 14:16
  pioneering. This revolutionary new
• 14:18
  technology with T-Mobile. So So if you want, you know what
• 14:30
  I need to do to make it work? Well, you don't need some sort
• 14:33
  of pointed at the sky and like follow the satellite or anything
• 14:35
  like that. We were confident that it will
• 14:39
  be able to work if it's in your pocket, or if you're in, if
• 14:43
  you're in your car. Certainly, if you're walking

  outside, or if you, if you just pull your cell phone out, it'll

  work great. But we think even in your pocket

  being maybe a little repetitive on some of these things because

  I sometimes wonder like is the profundity of what we're saying,

  actually going to give, you know well the public understand this,

  hello public. However public Because the those

  in the audience, from T-Mobile SpaceX, obviously understand
• 15:33
  what we're talking about is really a really big
• 15:36
  announcement, but I hope that the public understands the
• 15:39
  magnitude of the announcement as well.

  It's, you know, in a nutshell, it's no more dead zones.

  And and yeah, it's best when it comes down to.

  Yeah. Alright, so first question that

  came in in advance from somebody in the Press was do I need a
• 16:08
  specialty Mobile plan? And you know, as I said in my
• 16:11
  remarks my we're not here to announce the product yet.

  But my vision for this is that on our most popular plans, we're
• 16:19
  just going to go ahead and include this and, you know, we
• 16:21
  feel like that's what the uncarrier does, that's
• 16:23
  important. Now there there there may be low
• 16:25
  cost plans, that don't include it.

  And they're our aspiration is to charge a monthly service fee
• 16:31
  that will be far. Less than the monthly service
• 16:34
  fees charged by today's Sally satellite connectivity services

  and but for the most popular plans at T-Mobile, our vision is

  to just go ahead and include it for free.

  Just like we did with the global connectivity for our Cellular

  roaming Partners all around the world.

  So do you stalling satellites have to be reprogrammed to

  communicate using T-Mobile's radio and I actually, we need to

  do more than simply reprogrammed.

  The satellites, we are constructing special antenna
• 17:06
  likes that they're actually very big antenna that are also
• 17:12
  extremely Advanced. There are the most advanced
• 17:15
  phased array antennas in the world we think and it has to be
• 17:18
  the The antennas have to be extremely Advanced because I've
• 17:21
  got to pick up a very quiet signal from your cell phone.
• 17:26
  And you can imagine if that's like cell phone that that
• 17:28
  signals got to travel 500 miles and then be caught by a
• 17:31
  satellite. That's traveling 17,000, miles
• 17:33
  an hour and then side is going to compensate for the Doppler
• 17:36
  effect of moving so fast. So it's this is really quite a
• 17:40
  difficult technical challenge but we have it working in the
• 17:44
  lab and we're confident this will work in the field.
• 17:48
  So it's actually quite a lot of extra Hardware on the satellites
• 17:51
  and it's also a lot of software. Yes, it's a hard problem, that's
• 17:57
  why it's not been solved before. So the question is, is the
• 18:06
  invitation for all carriers across the world are just the
• 18:08
  u.s. to start. You know, one of the beautiful
• 18:11
  things about satellites is that they orbit the earth.
• 18:14
  And so you know, our mutual view was the more companies around
• 18:17
  the world we can get signed up for this.
• 18:19
  The way T-Mobile is signing up for it tonight.
• 18:23
  The better because and what we're offering is reciprocal
• 18:26
  roaming, so that our Spectrum which will be transmitted by the
• 18:30
  satellites all around the United States including territorial
• 18:33
  Waters Vas. Portions of Alaska.
• 18:36
  Hawaii, Puerto Rico, big swaths of the ocean potentially will be
• 18:40
  available to visitors in the United States from that have
• 18:43
  carriers all over the world and our view is that the best way to
• 18:46
  do this would be to ask them to also participate, find a piece
• 18:50
  of mid band Spectrum in their country from their carrier that
• 18:53
  they can dedicate to this in partnership with SpaceX and then
• 18:57
  our customers would benefit from the same thing when our
• 19:00
  customers visit their country and that's that's one way this
• 19:03
  could roll out. And so, Tonight's message is a

  call to those carriers to get involved and join the party.

  invitation to carriers around the world.

  bit of a technical problem that we need help from the partner

  with in order to separate messaging traffic from all other

  data traffic. We've done this before with

  prior initiatives at T-Mobile. How to do it.

  But sometimes we need a little bit of involvement from

  Partners. We also need to make sure that

  they're working with us in a payload, aware way.

  And so, are our opportunity over this.

  Next few months is to open up a program and invite messaging

  apps to participate such that they, they are reaching our

  Network in a way that our Network can see and separate the

  messaging traffic and make it available to participate in this

  service right out of the gate. So, that's the vision and our

  and our partners in the internet of worked with Us before years

  laser links. So the Salt Lake to will

  And then in addition, we would fold out the, the sort of cell

  Spectrum antenna, that's would be We also quite large, so on

  the order of five or six meters on a side, so roughly 25 square

  the Falcon 9 payload fairing? The Sonic b 2 is meant for

  satellites are, are very large and, and too big to fit in a

  falcon 9 but the we are actually looking at an interim solution,

  smaller stalling, V2, kind of many that would fit on a falcon

  it before beta? Is there going to be an

  opportunity for like emergency services or anybody to kind of

  get their hands? In on this to see how well it

  works. So yeah, as soon as we have the

  satellites in orbit, we will try to enable them to connect two

  cell phones for emergency services, so you actually don't

  need unlike a real-time connection.

  You don't need to have the full constellation of satellites

  active, in order to transmit, text messages or email that
• 25:21
  matter. So, any kind of asynchronous
• 25:23
  communication will work even with even if it's only One
• 25:27
  satellite. So now of course we are

  constrained by regulatory approval, so the, but from a
• 25:35
  technical standpoint, it's it should work even when there's
• 25:39
  only a handful of satellites in orbit Because of the
• 25:45
  asynchronous nature of the of text messaging and email, you
• 25:48
  might just have to wait. You know, I don't know half an
• 25:52
  hour. Maybe worse for the thing to go
• 25:56
  through, but it should still work from the early on.

  in the right context. So the size of the cell that

  that we quite large compared to the space based cell system.

  The area of the cell will be large compared to a terrestrial

  system. So this is really meant for

  places that don't have cell tower conductivity.

  Because although it's like maybe 2 to 4 MB capability.

  Is that that's what the capability is for the entire

  cell. So if you've got, you know, it's

  that we're talking about like 12 2004 scholz Purcell, but that

  cell is going to be quite large. And so it really is, it's not a

  substitute for ground cell stations because ground cell
• 27:29
  stations, especially in urban and at urban areas will
• 27:34
  definitely be superior to what we're talking about here.
