  Away we go.
• 0:05
  [rock music] [cheering] Oh, my.
• 0:30
A push to know the button. I, yeah, yeah. They're excited. Everybody, all right. Wow. Welcome. I, I don't know what happened. Woo. [clears throat] There seemed to be a lot of, uh- Thank you, peanut gallery...
• 0:41
a lot of noise. Yeah. I thought it was that guy, but it might've been that guy- Mm-hmm... with the boombox. Yep, yep, yep. Oh, you're gonna take me home tonight. Night. All right, night.
• 0:52
It's, uh, it's another night here in the studio. It's Full Spectrum Cycling. What show are we on today? 3/11. Yeah, whoa. Amber is the color of your energy. 3/11. Whoa. I like The Hive, the song Hive.
• 1:08
That's the one of their few songs I like. They will be- Because I don't know that anybody sings in it. They... Eh, fair enough. [laughs] They will be in our fair town, city. Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
• 1:20
On the Thursday, uh, the 3rd, a 9:30 show at the BMO, which would be Poachable Auditorium. Oh, huh. Auditorium. Okay. That is over at the Summerfest grounds. Mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm. Summerfest is...
• 1:35
Well, I wouldn't say it's in full swing because it starts- Yeah... and then it stops. Uh-huh. And then it starts again, and then it stops again, and then finally it starts for a third time, and then they're done with it.
• 1:46
Yeah. I may not step foot on the grounds this year. I'm not sure yet. I don't know. Well, there's two shows that I would- Yeah... probably do it for, but- I'm not gonna be in town for the, on the 4th. The Social D? Yeah.
• 1:59
You're missing my birthday? I'm missing your birthday. Damn. I gotta go to a gender reveal. Oh, okay. Gotta see one more- What are you, are you revealing your gender? [laughs] Geez. What's going on over there?
• 2:13
No, for, uh, I'm gonna be a grandpa. Oh. Oh. Yeah. Well, heckine. I know. I'm jumping way in the- Yeah... front of the line here.
• 2:22
[laughs] You started out with the already growed ones, and now you're getting on the little tiny, tiny tot side of stuff. [laughs] Right? [coughs] Um, well- Ta-da... that, that sounds fun.
• 2:32
I mean, I don't know what's going on. Oh, look at that thing. Mm. Um, so it is, uh, it, it is the end of June already. Mm-hmm. Oh, and check out Bully who opens for Social D, the one right before. Okay.
• 2:45
That would be a good damn show, too. Uh, well, they moved stages. Originally they were supposed to be on Sydney stage at, uh- Uline... at Uline, and now they are at Miller. Yes. Internally... Mm-hmm.
• 2:58
I mean, that would be one of the shows that would get me on grounds. I don't know. I still might. Who knows? Well, I've got at least one f- There's some... That, that last weekend, there's a lot of free days. Yeah.
• 3:07
So, I mean... But, you know. Well, attendance is way down. I mean- Yeah... th- uh, the 99 degree days didn't help the- No... attendance much. And $30 price tag.
• 3:16
And also expensive beer, and you can't bring cash on the grounds, and blah, blah... Well, you can bring it on the grounds. You just can't use it there. Right. Yes, yes, yes. Uh, so, you know, I mean, it is what it is.
• 3:26
I, it's, it ran its course. We were around for the best of times. [laughs] Just meet by the rocks. Pretty much. Right by the rocks. It's so simple. Right on the- Just meet at the rocks. Yeah.
• 3:35
You know, just follow the smell. Yeah. So, uh, I don't, we don't have to talk a lot about Summerfest yet- Yeah... 'cause I haven't been there yet- No... this year. Um, just that both of my youths are working there.
• 3:46
There you go. Sydney is, uh, stage managing at Uline, and Garrett is doing security at Miller. Security at Miller? Yeah. Oh. Yeah. Oh. He's on the- For the mosh pits? He's on the mosh pitting crew. [laughs] Yeah, so.
• 3:59
Nice. Right? Uh, I don't know. Gotta test them out, who's on the- I think he'll be good. [laughs] Right. So, I, lots of stuff, uh, lots of stuff going on cycling-wise again. I had to kind of go through my pictures
• 4:11
because I'm like, "What happened last week?" 'Cause I don't remember if it was last week or the week before. Yeah. I don't know when it was. I, I, I get you. So I'm looking through pictures.
• 4:19
I'm like, "Oh yeah, that happened [laughs] last week." Uh, well, what happened actually today, which would be yesterday in internet time, we got, uh, Mr.
• 4:29
James back on a, a fat bike after, nine months after his, uh, black Fat Lac was stolen. I thought he was saying that as hyperbole, "I haven't been on a bike in a while."
• 4:40
No, well- And then I was like, "Oh no, I guess he hasn't." Right. Since, uh- So... since Riverwest 24- Mm-hmm... last year, basically. And also ch- he had that trike that got... He got two- Mm-hmm...
• 4:51
two jacked and one, and one jacking. But anyway, he's, he's back in action now. Um, and, uh, yeah. Who, you know who's not back in action with their Bullet? Uh... One of the beautiful people.
• 5:05
Yes, from the beautiful family. Yes, yes. Did you see the pictures? I saw that picture. Mm. One of our- No, I just saw the picture that you... I, I haven't looked, investigated further into it.
• 5:14
Oh, I don't know that there is much more than that one photo.
• 5:17
But one of our friends had a fire in his garage due to his Bullet electric bike, converted bike, and what I'm not 100% clear on is I don't think it was the battery. I think the charger
• 5:32
overheated or something maybe, and it start... They had a wood box on it to carry their youths in and whatnot. Okay. And it ended up starting the wooden box on fire. Oh, gotcha.
• 5:41
But it also did some damage because it, that... I don't know. It melted some aluminum, so maybe the battery finally did catch or maybe that's what started it. But- Oh, yes...
• 5:51
anyway, folks, be s- be safe with your, uh, lithium ion batteries out there because, uh, I had never known- That's probably... Yeah, that's like the closest to home of a exploding- Yeah...
• 6:01
catching on fire- Well, the only time-... battery thing...
• 6:04
the only time I've ever seen batteries, like, spontaneously combust is during Early days of lithium ion with radio-controlled planes, and people were pushing them really hard because you can store a lot of energy in there, and that's what you want.
• 6:18
Whoa. And, whoa. Yep. [laughs] And, um, yes, every once in a while you would push it too far and s- and, and it would just sort of turn into a fireball in the sky, which was kind of spectacular.
• 6:33
But, but, but not- How very, how very Leon of you. [laughs] But- Ooh, look... but- It's really cool when they explode in the air Yes, it's n- It's not, you don't want that in your garage, though. Don't you think so? No.
• 6:44
I am, I'm thinking that, you know, it's probably a good idea to maybe get a dedicated charging spot.
• 6:50
'Cause it's easy enough to come in after a ride, you're tired, you probably had a beer or two, and you wanna just put the thing on the charger for the next day and plug it in, but I don't know. Right.
• 7:00
I, I mean, I, I, I, it ma- it got me to thinking- I know where, yeah... about what, how I do it when I- Right... get back to the shop at the end of the day. Yeah. So. Yeah.
• 7:08
Uh, but anyway, e- every, every, every human and animal in that house is fine, and, uh, he did have, uh, he did have his fat bike here at the shop, so it wasn't in the garage. Oh, yeah. So he came and got it today.
• 7:20
So sorry to hear it, but, uh, yeah, glad everybody's all right. Boy, what else we got? Oh, Tour of America's Dairyland's going on. Yes, yeah. I ran into, uh, the Lunns and the Kenny and the
• 7:35
Mike and Berta and Dumke and- I saw your, um, Lemmy, uh, beer coaster in the- Yeah. [laughs]... in the picture. Or a photo, Lemmy, Lemmy photo bombing from beyond the- Yep... the grave. I gotta find that.
• 7:47
That's somewhere, that's lost somewhere in my house. So that was- Between then and now. Was that one, that was one of the hot days? Uh, not too bad. Oh, it was before it got really silly. Yeah.
• 8:00
I don't know, I don't know what's with that weather, but it's, was 60 s- it's 66 degrees [laughs] outside right now, so. Right, yeah, yeah. And- Oh, wait. It was the Friday? Could've been. I wanna say. I wasn't there.
• 8:10
I don't know. That's West Allis. I don't go- Yeah... that far west in the city normally. No, I had, I had to, I had, I had van issues to address, and it was a thing that was p- very frustrating.
• 8:25
Returning it, then my mother's vehicle to her, and then instead of her driving me back to the east side, it was just like, "Well, why don't you just drop me off in West Allis?" Oh, okay.
• 8:36
And I'll just take the bus and- That's how you ended up out there. Yeah, yeah. There was a reason. It wasn't, like, a full-on destination. Yeah, okay. Gotcha. Yeah. Hanging out in front of The Drunken Mule. Yeah.
• 8:45
Which was interesting. [laughs] It's closed, right? Yeah, but it was open for- So-... window, or for toilet- Pa- package purposes? [laughs] Well, to, yeah. It was, use the bathroom. Oh, right on. Which was
• 8:58
helpful [laughs] because there was nothing else- So-... right there. I still, I maybe have to do a, a Facebook post and ask this, but in theory, today, Thursday the 20, whatever it would be, 6th- Mm-hmm...
• 9:10
is supposed to be a fat bike thing at the Bay View race, but it, I've, I hear it's not gonna be happening or it's gonna be new guys. Community.
• 9:19
And you can just ride whatever you want, but it's not really a race, where the Fatrium was actually sort of kind of a two-lap. Right. Yeah, it's just- With the hammer shlagging and all the other junk going on...
• 9:27
community building. It's community building. All right, well. That's what they're doing. Yeah, it was my plan to go there and take some photos and then try and catch Devo, but, uh, we'll see how that works out. Yeah.
• 9:38
Well, I'm gonna end up- Catch Devo anyway. [laughs] Yeah. [laughs] I mean, yeah, this just puts a little less of a obligation at the front of that part of it.
• 9:48
I mean, I'd like to get down there, but there's a weather aspect as well. Yeah, yeah. Well, it's definitely weather dependent, all of this- Yes...
• 9:55
as it is- And a Devo- It's summer in Wisconsin and, uh, you know, you never know. You don't like the weather, wait 10 minutes and it will certainly change. Indeed.
• 10:05
But- But yeah, and then the next day is Shorewood, which is right in my- Yeah... hip pocket. Yep. And then Downer. Yep. Which is on the other, in my other pocket- Right... on the other side.
• 10:15
And then Tosa at the end on Sunday. Well, it's a- And that's always kinda fun. I, I like to-... good weekend... I like to try to get out to the Tosa one. It, like, uh, I think Dave calls it Kid Crash Corner. Oh, my God.
• 10:25
It's m- [laughs] It is- At, in Tosa... if, if nothing else, it, that's the, that's, that's what you wanna watch. I, I, I mean, it's, no one really gets hurt. Well- They get scared...
• 10:39
the kids, yes, but the pros, they'll, they'll crash there too now and again. [laughs] Sure, sure. But yeah. [laughs] So, so I think, uh, Toad actually ends on,
• 10:50
To- Toad, Tour of America's Dairyland ends on Sunday, which is, like, the... Is that the day the Tour starts, in the de France, or is it- It's-... the next week? N- in the next- No...
• 11:02
it's 10 days, it's nine days from today. Gotcha. Hmm. Okay. Well, JK did put a note in here that you can, uh, get on a fantasy, fantasy league if you want to- Yes...
• 11:14
get your favorite heroes of the mountains and the Europeans and the Vingegaos and all those people over there. I'm gonna do a little more investigating of that, 'cause- I guess I-...
• 11:24
I'm not really sure how that would operate... I, I know what the pundits say, because I've been watching since, you know, months ago leading up to this. But, uh,
• 11:34
you never know in a three-week thing what's gonna happen and who might get sick or crash out or just not have a good week or whatever, so. Is that gonna be, uh, a peacock? It is a peacock. It's a peacock. It's a peacock.
• 11:47
It's a peacock. If you wanna watch it, it's on Peacock. Well, good thing I did buy that one year- Well, I'm thinking-... son of a gun, that-...
• 11:54
if it, if it follows what Dauphine did, then it will be on here at approximately 6:30 in the morning to, like, 11:00. So- Mm-hmm...
• 12:02
or whatever, which works out for me, so then, 'cause I usually work at home until 10:00 or 11:00. And then it's just, it's on in background. Yeah. And then w- and then when- Yeah, yeah...
• 12:10
and then when they start yelling about the p- The sharp end of the pencil is cutting like right on it, man.
• 12:17
[laughs] Then I, I can turn and look at the, at the telly and, uh, and wa- and watch the exciting bits- [laughs] Yes, indeed... of the event. To my understanding, the first 10 days are
• 12:28
sort of leading up to the pain and torture of the final, you know- Sure... 11 days. Yeah. Tenderizing everybody. Yeah, for sure. So, but, uh, I do enjoy watching the climbs and the sweating and the- [laughs]...
• 12:41
and the people. It's just so fun. Climbs? Like to the top of a hill? Ah. Oh, hell. [bell ringing] Oh, oh, oh. And the bikers are gonna race up the hill. That's not a hill. Oh, my gosh. It's a mountain. Oh, well.
• 12:54
Well, tell us about the beer because, uh, this is a good call, actually. Yeah. Good call. Uh, it's a Jacamo, Jacamo Fina He. Talking about he now. He now. Terrapin Station. No. [laughs] It's not the same thing, is it?
• 13:07
No. From Abita. Uh, had this a couple times down in New Orleans in the beginning of the year, and couldn't find anything except, uh, Purple Haze. Jacamo. I mean, Purple Haze is good. Sure it is.
• 13:21
And it's a, you know, raspberry lager that's really low ABV. Abita- But- Uh, uh, Abita Springs, Louisiana. Yeah. So it's like their lakefront. Oh, right on. It's like their lakefront brewery.
• 13:35
Um, and- But is Abita Springs like a New Orleans- Parish... suburb or parish or something? I'm not sure. Yeah. Somewhere over there. Yeah. So it's, uh- But this was always available.
• 13:45
Like, they always seemed to have, like, three, like Purple Haze, some, like, red brown kinda ale. Sure. And then this, and it was always good. It drank easy. It's 6%, so it's not knocking you completely- Right on...
• 13:59
over too much. I- It tastes good. Well- I was, I was surprised. And then it was a surprise I saw it in the, in Auto- Atos. It doesn't seem like it's expired either. [laughs] Yeah. [laughs] Uh, so- I was as good.
• 14:12
It w- if it was nearing expiration, it'd be in the bargain bin. Oh. That one I know. Right on. That, I, I figured out their rotation cycle. That's good.
• 14:19
Uh, we did stop at Amorphic before the show, and I had their, whatever they're call- number nine, whatever that is. Number nine. It's a collaboration- That's my lucky number...
• 14:27
what was the, uh, the manufacturing podcast guys, Chris and those guys, and also the Milwaukee Emo guys. Oh, yeah. It's a collab between those with the whatever- Okay... Amorphic and them.
• 14:39
This ha- this is similar enough tasting that I'm not like, "It's a totally different beer," and I'm... You know what I mean? Sure. Okay. So. Okay. I, I didn't have that one. It's good. I didn't, I wasn't...
• 14:49
It's a double dry hopped juicy IPA, which I'm kinda partial to juicies and hazies. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Cheers. I'll have to get the second one here.
• 15:01
Also remember to keep Frankville wet and lit if you can donate to Frankville and keep their water running and their lights on. That would be a small town in Iowa where our good buddy Mike McAbee lives. There's Mike.
• 15:14
And he likes to pee outside. Oh, he does like to pee outside. Did Kyle leave a bunch of greasy fingerprints on that? Eh, maybe. From last week? Maybe. Maybe a little.
• 15:23
So, uh, just because Kyle was on last week, and by the way, that was a good show. If you didn't catch it, you should listen to it. Uh, and he is in Create Moto, which is next door building.
• 15:34
Uh, again, this coming Saturday, I think, is Amber Asher doing her tin type thing again. Tin type is a type of photography from the olden times. And did you see the picture of Steve's daughter, Ella?
• 15:52
No. No. Ah. I will show it to you after. She's like, "I don't like that picture." [laughs] I, I think she's what? Maybe 10, 11. She's not... But it's- Yeah...
• 16:01
it, it's eerie because it looks like somebody was taking this to, had ta- taken this picture in the 1800s, a l- whatever. Mm-hmm. And, uh- Sunday... but I said, I- Sunday the 29th...
• 16:11
I think it's the best picture I ever saw of you. She did not say, "It's the only picture you ever saw [laughs] of me." She didn't. Which would've shown how witty she could have been, but she didn't. Right.
• 16:21
Well, she didn't pull a knife on you or anything. Well, no, she hasn't stabbed me yet. [laughs] What did...
• 16:26
I forget when she was, she called- Well, she was- And that guy is, he's a popcorn eater, and [laughs] it's like... She's funny. I had some sort of turtle designation. Yeah.
• 16:38
Which I, I couldn't recall what the- Trampled by turtles. Turtle, turtle, tur- Uh- I like turtles... uh, s- so [laughs] I, I like turtles. I like turtles. Uh, so that's Amber Asher. There's a link in the show notes.
• 16:53
It's a, it's a cool thing, and it's, it's unique enough that you don't see everybody doing it.
• 17:00
And her process is to take the photo and then immediately get it done and give it to you there, which is like in the olden days, you probably shot a bunch of stuff, put it in the dark in a bag, and then did it later when you got back to your lab.
• 17:15
Yeah. And it's, like, on the tripod- Yep... with the thing and- Oh, yeah... the hood and the, the full on. You betcha. It's the goodness. So, uh, check that out if you're in the town.
• 17:24
And if you have a motorbike or a bicycle- Engine cycle... you could bring it, and you could have your, your tin type photo looking like you're from the olden times. So that's, uh, uh, that's that thing.
• 17:37
I got some, uh, I got some Omnium news. Omnium. Omnium Cargo bikes. Uh, we did send... Did we do this last week? We sent the, uh, the Omnium Cargo down the road to a, a feller that lives on the south side of Milwaukee.
• 17:53
That was a very cool bike. Um, he a- and his lady are going to have a lot of fun with that. Nice. Uh, more stuff though, um, I'm, I'm gonna let, even though I don't know if I'll ever be able to get another one.
• 18:06
[laughs] I'm gonna let the electric one go down the trail because, by cracky, we should probably stop spending money and start making some money.
• 18:16
[laughs] Um, belt drive, five-speed automatic, Shimano rear hub- Super fun. It's the, uh, it's the most fun I've had on a bike, well, since it snowed out really great and we were riding fat bikes probably.
• 18:30
[laughs] Um, and that will be probably ready for sale in a week or less. The other thing to know about Omnium, though, is that th- we're not getting a ton of them in the United States this year probably.
• 18:42
There is a run of cargo bikes coming in a really cool looking lilac color. Lilac. And also pirate black. That's the... That's- That's like a deeper prickly pear. It's, it's very lilac-y, I was gonna say. How about that?
• 18:58
I see no color in here that resembles the lilac that it is. Hopefully I'll- That, uh, the raisins? No, those are purple. Lilac would be more... Softer... softer, more pastel. 'Cause that's nature's candy. Pastel.
• 19:09
Uh, no, no, no. Mm. Nah. Nah. No, no. Down more on the cheek. Oh, no. Nah, that's more like teal. Oh. Um, yeah. I don't see any, uh... It's a very- Cerulean blue? Yeah. No. Or cornflower blue?
• 19:23
Or a jingly, jingly th- jingly things. You're jingling, baby. Yeah, I don't see a color here that resembles. Don't hit that. Anyway, um, hopefully we'll have some photos of that to show.
• 19:31
[laughs] But, uh, here's what I would do. We'll have color swatches next week. Right? So... Here's what I'll do, what I would do if I were me and I wanted a cargo, which is the longest and the, kind of the most,
• 19:41
I guess, versatile if you're carrying a bunch of loads, of the Omniums, is get one now because w- there's no... With the tariffs and the uncertainty, the great uncertainty [laughs] Yeah...
• 19:52
there's no telling when m- more of them will [laughs] come into the country. Um, s- certainly, I don't... I mean, I don't know if Bra-... Hey, Brandon, if you listen to this show, [laughs] how's it going? It just, it...
• 20:06
I'm not sure if I'm reading anything into this, but I'm- I just keep thinking that if they didn't buy all the Omniums in Europe, we would have a lot more here in the United States, and people would buy them here 'cause they're awesome.
• 20:19
It just seems like before they even hit our shores, they're already gone over there, because they have to go to Denmark first. And they say, "Yeah, those are cool." Yeah, and then they- "We, we want them"...
• 20:29
then they're like, "We bought, people bought them all. We can't send you guys any, so..." Right. Right. Well, then we have to send ourselves to Europe. Right. So yeah, so those are coming. If it...
• 20:38
I would pre-order one if I were me, which I am, and I'm not 'cause I already... Anyway, I'm keeping the acoustic one now for maybe. [laughs] You know how I like to leave stuff over there on the end of the thing.
• 20:51
It looks on the... It looks like, it looks like... What's the thing in, uh, 2001 Space Odyssey? The monolith. The monolith. It, on the camera it looks like a monolith. Let me, uh, let me tip that up so you can see the...
• 21:02
He's, he's, he's... Look at it tipping. He's bringing it, dragging it. It- Dragging the monolith. Yes. It's... Dun, dun, dun. Da-na. Ding-dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun.
• 21:15
It kind of turns like that, doesn't it? Mm-hmm. It makes like a- Mm... it makes like a movement. So Metmo. This is an interesting place. Um, a- and by cracky, I guess I'll have to get the, uh, URL off of here.
• 21:28
It's Metmo Cube, I think. That's some guys in England. These are some brainiacs over there. Uh, metmo.co.uk is one place for sure that you can go. It's like they make these things that are...
• 21:44
I don't know, I'd call them like executive... Although this has actually got use. It, uh, you can actually use it, but some of the stuff is, like, executive level spinner toys. [laughs] Oh, yeah.
• 21:54
Executive level fidget toys. Oh, yeah. Not, not- Like, like Sharper Image, uh, like the- Well, but, but- But, but the, the, the like, oh, hey, look at... This is our, my, uh, executive little golf, uh, golf green.
• 22:06
Uh, but, but- You know what I'm talking about?... but more useful and not... Yeah. But, but, yeah. But not as pretentiously annoying.
• 22:10
And also, but just super high-end, um, this thing is a, uh, it's a shmikity schmack, and it's, it's a ratchet. It goes like this. So you can- Oh, my...
• 22:23
like do this, do this, do this, do this, and you can do that, and then you can go the other way. Oh, shit. And it's also got... You can put... So it takes a normal... Uh, open this thing up.
• 22:35
It takes a normal, like, uh, quarter inch bit like you might have on any tool at your house for your, uh... It's, it's precision. You gotta, you gotta get it just right, but any, any kind of bit fits in there. Boom.
• 22:50
So now you can go do some screwdriving. Yeah. Well, actually, that's screw removing. Let me t- put it on screwdriving side. But I just... I'm gonna hand it to Michael, and I just think, like... Here, there's your bit.
• 23:04
Okay. There's how it's stored. I just think you wouldn't believe how kind of hefty... So open it up. Oh, you can do that too. Oh, that's another thing you can do. You don't even have to open it up. Look at... Yeah. It...
• 23:17
Doesn't it feel precision? Mm-hmm. It just feels like it's just... They spent a lot of time making sure that it, it's, it's as precise as possible. And you can- You do this, and then you... Is it lock?
• 23:29
Um, no, because you can change your hand position and get an- Oh, okay... incredible amount of torque out of it if you want to. Gotcha. Um... Be like, "wiggity, wiggity, wiggity, wiggity, wiggity." Yeah.
• 23:38
Clickity, clickity, click. So that's a Metmo thing, and, uh, we're gonna be... I'm gonna put that in my kit because it's small. Uh, I just want to- Not terribly heavy. No.
• 23:48
It's not terribly heavy, but it's precision feeling. The one thing that I think I would probably buy since the, the fine- Bit down or up? Uh, put it in whatever way. It doesn't really matter. Okay. Drop it in there.
• 24:01
You could also, you know- I'm just saying... I'm just saying... sometimes it wouldn't work that way. But here's the thing.
• 24:05
If you get the other part that I don't currently have, which is the thing that stores a bunch of bits in it- Uh-huh... you could put your weed in it. Aha. So, you know.
• 24:16
Well, that's why I was asking what direction- I'm kind of-... you're going to put it in... kind of wondering- Because if you do it one way, it goes on the spring. [laughs] I don't... But- It come up the springies...
• 24:22
I'm kind of wondering what kind of modifications we could do so you could put your weed in it somehow Anyway, um [laughs] yeah, so I, I think it's, it's a lot of fun and it just feels, it feels good in the hand.
• 24:35
It's very nice. And, uh, we will put it in the kit and carry it around and probably do a story on Fatbike.com because, uh, that's what we're gonna do. But there it is, Metmo Pocket Driver I believe is what they call it.
• 24:50
I'll just leave it out here for like- Yeah... display purposes. Indeed. And I'm... It says right on this, "Do not eat." Uh, on the silicone part? I was thinking about eating it, but I won't. Just chewing between...
• 25:06
It, it looks like a Skull Bandit between your cheek and gum. There, Metmo. So those guys are over there. And if you go to their website, there is a ton of other interesting things that you might just be like, "Oh."
• 25:20
Why not? "I gotta have that because it's so damn cool." They make some metal cube thing that fits together with such precision they can only make 80 of them a month [laughs] so. Yeah.
• 25:32
Well, that's like the- And they cost a lot of money because they are precision. That was like the Atari watch that I pre-ordered. It was like I, I pre-ordered it because, uh, first off, it's 70 bucks and [laughs]... Oh.
• 25:46
It's a pedometer and a heart rate- Is it, is it here yet? No. Oh. No. It, it's not gonna ship until July they say. Well. But, but ev- I mean, it's through Atari so it's not like it's through, [clears throat]
• 26:00
you know, some other company that I've never heard of in my life. You know what I mean? Yeah. So. Not Atari. Not Atari. You know, the, the- The whatever the company.
• 26:10
They're, they're, they're- They're not Atari company... yeah. They're... Yeah, because I had to deal with that once 'cause I thought there was gonna be this really great, uh, headlamp system that I was buying.
• 26:19
And I went around and around for about like a, like a year and a half, and I finally got my like $90 back. [laughs] Well. But I was like, I was the kid in Better Off Dead.
• 26:30
$2 just [laughs] chasing the son of a bitch's down. Yeah. Like, "No, I'm getting you. I'm getting this." So I [laughs]... "I will get my money if it kills me." If it costs me $200, I will get that $90. Right.
• 26:40
There is a guy who used to sit in that chair. There is. There used to be a guy. But he's the guy that's really good at not getting Kickstarter things to follow [laughs] through. [laughs] I mean, I, I, I backed a couple.
• 26:55
One that I'm really bummed that it didn't actually... Two of them. One was a helmet that was supposed to fold up, fit in your pocket, and be like as good as, as the best, the bestest helmet you could get. Mm.
• 27:05
And they, and they've really just kept pushing out stuff. "Oh, blah, blah, blah. We're changing factories. Ooh, blah, blah, blah." Yeah. "Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah." Yeah. Never happened. Haven't seen it yet.
• 27:14
Not saying it won't happen, but I'm saying it's highly unlikely. Sure. Anyway, there are some Kickstarter things that I did back that did turn out to be good things. Yeah.
• 27:23
But I think I'm probably about 80% on getting versus losing on Kickstarter. Mm-hmm. And- That's what I was worried about at first... in the... Right. And I'm just going like, "Oh, this is gonna be cool," and whatever.
• 27:36
Even if the, like all the bells and whistles don't really work. Uh-huh. It's a pedometer and it, it's, it looks cool. Does it go on your wrist? Yeah. It's a watch. It's a watch- Okay...
• 27:46
that has Atari, four Atari games allegedly on it, and it's a pedometer, uh- Is it Steve Wozniak approved? Apparently. Wasn't he an Atari guy? Mm-hmm. I think. I don't know.
• 27:57
Oh, hey, guess what I never noticed, if we ever got any calls on the old call-in studio. [laughs] Did they call? I don't know.
• 28:03
I wasn't really looking at it, so if somebody did call they probably hung up because we didn't pay any attention to them. Call back then. Uh, here's two [laughs] Call. Here's, uh, here's...
• 28:12
We're alm- hey, we're almost there. There's a couple more things though. Excuse me. Uh, we've mentioned our good friends at Swerve who make awesome...
• 28:19
In fact, I'm wearing pants, um, pantaloons today, or shorts as they may be, uh, from the Swerve. Uh, I don't know if you can get these anymore.
• 28:28
But one thing they are doing is selling a lot of the stuff that they used t- to make clothing, including zippers and threads and fabrics and all sorts of other stuff.
• 28:37
So if you're a DIY person, there's a link in the show notes, goes to their DIY page which... They're surprisingly affordable.
• 28:46
They must just have a bunch of stuff they need to get rid of before they finally shut the doors on the, on the Swerve, uh, legacy. The, uh, did the thing, did that, did that. All-day fitness tracking.
• 29:00
Steps, calories, and heart rate. It's not linked into Wi-Fi or anything else. It's like self-contained. Oh, well, that's not a bad idea. So that's what I like about that. Oh, I got two more things.
• 29:11
I thought I had only one. Uh, the, the, the Fatbike Birki date has been set for 2026. It is earlier. It's in February. February. February.
• 29:23
Which I assume means that they're moving the actual Birki a week earlier too because this is February 28th-ish. It says 8th, T-H-Y. I don't know. It must be a typo from my, my ham fist.
• 29:37
[laughs] But it's, uh, February 28th, so two weeks before that would likely be the actual Birki, but I think they're trying to make sure that they have snow for the [laughs] event. Yes, yes, yes.
• 29:47
And you know what's gonna happen? They're gonna get like 82 feet of snow. Nuclear winter. A lot of snow. Nuclear. Nuclear winter. Nuclear. Nuclear. Nuclear.
• 29:59
Uh, the other thing I got in the show notes which you might- I'm not trying to hasten Armageddon by any stretch of the imagination. No, no. Thank you. Fuck. Oh, if our president can say it, I sure can. What a twit.
• 30:11
Uh- How about the president? Just, he's uncouth. Let's just say the president. Not our president. Yes. He's uncouth. [laughs] That's the whole problem with the guy. That's very much a problem with this man.
• 30:22
Um, the other thing I wanna mention is if you would like to help out the site- Everything's crawling in, back up inside me right now. Yeah.
• 30:29
[laughs] If, if, if you wanna help out the site without costing you any extra money- You might go ahead and go to, uh, a couple of links on our s- on our page. One of them is a bike tools link over there to the Amazon.
• 30:39
A lot of stuff you might like from places like Park Tool and others.
• 30:44
And then also Fat Bike Essentials, which I'm working on, which is, eh, underpopulated with stuff right now, but you buy it there, they pay us here, and you don't pay any more money. And that's a good thing.
• 30:56
So please help us, subscribe, blah, blah, blah. You probably seen everybody else say it, so might as well say it too. Right. Right? You're bloody right. Well, you know we're right. I haven't got my other beer yet, eh?
• 31:09
Yeah, I already crushed this one. Well- Your second. I'm on, this is on my second beer. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. You're drinking like my wife. [laughs] Oh, let's not even talk about her bike. Oh my God.
• 31:23
[laughs] She crashed, right? Is that what happened? Because lots of stuff is bent and scratched- Not recently, but- Well, but she'd ridden it since the crash, and all the crashy bits are making it not work very well.
• 31:37
[laughs] So yeah, we'll figure it out- [laughs]... hopefully. I mean, that's, that's an awesome bike. Act- State Bicycle's original fat bike. Megalith. Megalith. And- The Monolith and the Megalith. Yeah. Oh, lordy.
• 31:51
In the... What i- what was... It's Neapolitan colored. Yes. Napoleon. Nap- whatever. I, well- Is, oh, is that its name? Yeah, because- You married the woman. I know. I did. Um, [laughs]
• 32:04
and that's actually, and to make the trifecta, the triple, the hat trick on this one- The, the, the three thing...
• 32:11
uh, what I was going to send to Denardo was a picture of this little monol- little Monolith that his son had erected at a site that I thought was gone as a senior prank. Uh-huh.
• 32:29
But they figured out- In Madison? Uh, or something. Oh. Or somewhere. Okay. Mm. I'll tell you after air. Oh. [laughs] You just never know with the algorithm. I mean, it's been there for long enough- Right on...
• 32:40
that I don't think it's m- going anywhere soon, but yeah. Well. It's, I, I, I thought it was gone, but I'll tell you. Okay. [laughs] Well, I guess, I... What I'm gonna do is- Intrigue...
• 32:53
get us the hell out of here so I can worry about this. Get out of here. Yeah, we gotta know. [upbeat rock music] Oh, lord. [upbeat rock music]
