  Speaker 5: media has done in covering how ICE has been working

  Speaker 5: over the last year. There are two basic problems. One

  Speaker 5: is just kind of misinforming people about what the basic
• 25:13
  Speaker 5: numbers are. And then the second one is just not
• 25:15
  Speaker 5: giving any context of how it compares to past administrations.
• 25:19
  Speaker 5: And so one of the big things that's gotten a
• 25:22
  Speaker 5: lot of attention has been this report by ProPublica, which
• 25:25
  Speaker 5: is a left-wing news organization, which.
• 25:28
  Speaker 3: went out and.
• 25:29
  Speaker 5: Said that there were 170 Americans that had been detained
• 25:32
  Speaker 5: by ICE. What's usually left out of the discussion is
• 25:36
  Speaker 5: that 130 of those were individuals that had either attacked
• 25:40
  Speaker 5: or interfered with ICE operations. So they had been committing
• 25:43
  Speaker 5: crimes like felonies and had been picked up and arrested
• 25:47
  Speaker 5: as a result of committing crimes. It wasn't just some
• 25:50
  Speaker 5: American who was just picked off the street. With regard
• 25:53
  Speaker 5: to the 40 who were there, what you have is
• 25:57
  Speaker 5: this Most of them were detained for less than a day,
• 26:01
  Speaker 5: and most of those were just detained for an hour
• 26:04
  Speaker 5: or a.
• 26:04
  Speaker 3: Few hours while they were being checked before they were released.
• 26:08
  Speaker 3: They were usually.
• 26:09
  Speaker 5: found in company with other illegals that were there and
• 26:13
  Speaker 5: brought in at the same time and then released. But
• 26:18
  Speaker 5: if you look at that, you have to compare it
• 26:20
  Speaker 5: to the 600,000 illegal aliens that they did detain. And
• 26:25
  Speaker 5: so you're talking about one out of every 15,000 illegal
• 26:30
  Speaker 5: aliens was an American citizen, which, you know, nobody wants
• 26:34
  Speaker 5: to have any mistakes occurring, but it's relatively small. I
• 26:38
  Speaker 5: tried to then go and compare it to other administrations.
• 26:41
  Speaker 5: And the problem is the Biden administration doesn't even keep
• 26:44
  Speaker 5: these numbers. Most of the Obama administration time didn't keep
• 26:48
  Speaker 5: these numbers. Only the last two years of the Obama
• 26:51
  Speaker 5: administration had numbers on this. And if you look at
• 26:55
  Speaker 5: the rate that American citizens were detained there, it was
• 27:00
  Speaker 5: about equal to about one compared to every 4,400 illegal
• 27:02
  Speaker 5: aliens there. So that's a rate that's about three times
• 27:08
  Speaker 5: a higher mistake rate than the Trump administration did. The
• 27:13
  Speaker 5: other thing that they focus on is that 32 illegal
• 27:18
  Speaker 5: aliens died while in detention this last year. When you're
• 27:22
  Speaker 5: talking about 600,000 people, first of all, you have to
• 27:24
  Speaker 5: recognize that people die from natural causes just at some
• 27:28
  Speaker 5: rate anyway. And in fact, the normal rate for even
• 27:31
  Speaker 5: 20 to 49-year-olds is is several times higher than the
• 27:35
  Speaker 5: total deaths there.
• 27:35
  Speaker 3: So they actually died at relatively low rates compared to
• 27:39
  Speaker 3: what they normally would.
• 27:40
  Speaker 5: But the big thing is to go and look at violence,
• 27:43
  Speaker 5: any ones who died from violence. There are only three
• 27:47
  Speaker 5: violence-related deaths. And the thing is, when you look at
• 27:50
  Speaker 5: that two of the three, you may remember in September
• 27:54
  Speaker 5: of last year, there was an anti-ICE person in Dallas
• 27:57
  Speaker 5: who shot at ICE vehicles.
• 28:01
  Speaker 2: Yes, and killed two illegals, right?
• 28:03
  Speaker 5: Yeah, he thought he was going to kill ICE agents,
• 28:06
  Speaker 5: but he ended up shooting three illegals, killing two of
• 28:09
  Speaker 5: them and wounding another.
• 28:10
  Speaker 2: And that was the number they're using.
• 28:12
  Speaker 6: Right.
• 28:13
  Speaker 7: Yeah.

  Speaker 5: And then there was one other illegal who died, but
• 28:17
  Speaker 5: he was running away from ICE and got struck by
• 28:19
  Speaker 5: a car. And that's how he died. So he had

  Speaker 5: to simply not try to avoid death. being caught, he
• 28:26
  Speaker 5: would be left. So those are the only three. And
• 28:28
  Speaker 5: you can compare that to the Obama administration, too. And
• 28:32
  Speaker 5: what you find is that, in fact, people died, illegals
• 28:37
  Speaker 5: died in detention at a higher rate during the Obama
• 28:41
  Speaker 5: administration than they did for Trump. But, you know, nobody,
• 28:44
  Speaker 5: you know, look, any, any American who's detained is.
• 28:51
  Speaker 3: Too bad.

  Speaker 5: Anybody who dies is too bad. But, you know, you
• 28:55
  Speaker 5: want to go and see, is it somebody's fault? How

  Speaker 5: does it compare? And what you find is that the

  Speaker 5: problems were significantly greater under the Obama administration, but nobody
• 29:05
  Speaker 5: goes back.

  Speaker 3: And says, Boy, you know, it was really horrible. There

  Speaker 3: was no demonstrations that were.

  Speaker 2: you know, and all other problems were worse. Catching Americans

  Speaker 2: by mistake. It's that nobody ever complained under above. Same thing.

  Speaker 2: like four or five years ago. And somehow someone said

  Speaker 2: gal she was. Why don't you come over and sit

  Speaker 2: with us, right? And so my wife, when we were

  Speaker 2: done with dinner we thought we'd stop by their table

  Speaker 2: because the woman had walked by her table she was

  Speaker 2: so nice to us well it turned out her husband

  Speaker 2: was a raving california liberal nut job and he asked

  Speaker 2: me what i did for a living and when i

  Speaker 2: told him i'm a talk show host But that's all

  Speaker 2: I said because I didn't want to get in trouble.
