- 0:00First Peter chapter 4. Let us pray, Lord, and our God
- 0:08and our everything. We thank you, Father, for
- 0:11another day to come and to worship you, to sit at your feet
- 0:15and dine sumptuously. God, we open the door up.
- 0:20Come in, come in, come in, Father, sit with us, God, Sit at
- 0:26the table. Father, I pray in the name of
- 0:28Jesus God, that you'll prepare a banquet for us in the presence
- 0:32of our enemy. God.
- 0:33We dine with you, Lord, we Sup with you, we feast on the flesh,
- 0:39we drink the blood. God, in remembrance of who you
- 0:42are and what you have done and the sacrifice at Golgotha, we
- 0:47thank you, Jesus, for your spilled blood that cleanse the
- 0:51whole earth. Father, that made it pure.
- 0:53Father, I pray that you'll make all things new.
- 0:56God, at the renewal of all things.
- 0:58Father, we pray for the crown that never perishes.
- 1:02Father, I pray that we will lay it at your feet.
- 1:05God, it's all about you. King Jesus has always been about
- 1:09you, the chief cornerstone. You are the shepherd.
- 1:13You are the door, You are our bread, You are our life, your
- 1:21breath. And so, Father, I pray in the
- 1:24name of Jesus for a supernatural zeal to consume us.
- 1:29Fill this temple, God with the Shekinah glory.
- 1:33God, we want to be a House of prayer.
- 1:36God, I pray that we'll kick out the den of thieves.
- 1:40God, I pray that we will not be those that are obsessed over
- 1:44merchandise and filthy lucre. God and I pray against the
- 1:49spirit of Mammon. God, I pray that we will be sold
- 1:53out. Lay down lovers of Yeshua, we
- 1:56love you. King Jesus, teach us your
- 1:59eternal paths today. Help us to walk in the light as
- 2:02you are in the light. We are yours, we are your bride
- 2:07and we wait expectantly. We look up and see that our
- 2:10redemption is drawing near. We see the leaves on the fig
- 2:14tree. We know that summer is near.
- 2:16God, bring your rewards with you and let us be where you are and
- 2:24let us see you. See you rightly.
- 2:27God, we have seen in part darkly and dimly, but we want to see in
- 2:31the fullness. God, we thank you for the
- 2:37blessings that you have showered us with.
- 2:40You've poured upon us your presence.
- 2:43Thank you God, for healing our bodies.
- 2:46Thank you, God, for carving out all of the cancer.
- 2:50Thank you, God, for carving out all of the disease.
- 2:54Thank you, God, for a sound mind.
- 2:57Thank you, God, that you have given us the ability to reason,
- 3:03given us the ability to come and learn and to go deeper with you.
- 3:09Thank you, Father, for your Holy Scriptures.
- 3:12As we open them, let them hide in our hearts so that we might
- 3:17not sin against You. Yes, Father, we are listening
- 3:28and we want a greater measure. We want to feel the depths of
- 3:36your love and mercy and grace for this world at large.
- 3:42Help us, God, to spread the seed.
- 3:45Help us to go out into the harvest.
- 3:50God supernaturally enable us to do the will that you would have
- 3:56for us to do for today. Thank you God for food and clean
- 4:01drinking water. Thank you God for health.
- 4:03Thank you God for our abilities. Thank you God for marriage and
- 4:08family. Thank you God for law
- 4:11enforcement, military. Thank you, God, that you have
- 4:14given us the ability to know you and to be known by you.
- 4:20Father, we love you, King Jesus, it's all about you.
- 4:25King Jesus. We pray for the peace of Israel.
- 4:28We pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
- 4:31God, let your Kingdom come right here on this earth, just as it
- 4:36is there in heaven, and it's in Jesus Christ, holy and precious
- 4:40name that I pray. Amen.
- 4:43Let's start in verse one. For as much then as Christ has
- 4:52suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the
- 4:59same mind. For he that has suffered in the
- 5:03flesh has ceased from sin. So here we go, look at how King
- 5:10Jesus is the model for us to follow.
- 5:13And one day, by and by we will enter into glory.
- 5:17One day, by and by we will receive the imperishable.
- 5:21One day by and by we will receive our immortal bodies.
- 5:26But in the meantime and in between time, we must stiff arm
- 5:31sin and the flesh and carnal desires, and one day all of
- 5:37those things will pass away and we will have nothing more than
- 5:41to worship King Jesus forever and ever.
- 5:45And we look forward to that time.
- 5:47But in the meantime, there's much work to do.
- 5:52Verse 2. That he no longer should live
- 5:54the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but
- 5:59to the will of God. That's the calling that is
- 6:01placed on us to abstain from sexual immorality, friends, to
- 6:07do the right thing and to walk in the light and to listen to
- 6:10God and to consecrate our temples and to not be stained by
- 6:14the world. Not to love the world or
- 6:16anything in the world. Do not fall in love with the
- 6:19culture. Do not fall in love with all of
- 6:22the mammon, with all of the greed, with all of the things
- 6:26that are in this world that vie for our attention, that get us
- 6:29to squander our inheritance of eternal life.
- 6:32This is seed planting time, friends.
- 6:35This is time to go out into the heart.
- 6:38Our time is limited and God is sanctifying us all along the way
- 6:43and He's going to bring us from glory to glory.
- 6:45Do not make this life about pleasure and pleasantries.
- 6:49Do not make this life about self.
- 6:51Do not make this life about comfort, friends, or you will
- 6:54find yourself like the rich young ruler going away, sad
- 6:58because you became offended that Jesus didn't behave in the way
- 7:02that you thought that he should. Verse 3 For the time past of our
- 7:09life may suffice us to have rocked the will of the Gentiles
- 7:14when we walked in. Lasciviousness, lust, excess of
- 7:20wine, revelings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries.
- 7:26He's talking about lust. He's talking about the sexual
- 7:32immorality, he's talking about orgies, he's talking about
- 7:38sexual perverseness, friends. And he's saying that that is the
- 7:43way of the world. This is how they operate, all of
- 7:47the carnal thinking. And far be it from us who have
- 7:52been called out, who have been those that have tasted and seen,
- 7:57those that have the Holy Spirit. Far be it from us to go back to
- 8:02the vomit friends. Far be it from us to be addicted
- 8:07to the images and addicted to all of the disgusting fleshly
- 8:15practices that we once were in for wherein they think it's
- 8:24strange that you run not with them to the same excess of riot
- 8:30speaking evil of you. Do not be surprised when people
- 8:34make all kinds of fun and mockery out of you when they say
- 8:38all kinds of blasphemous things towards a loving God because of
- 8:43the conduct that you have and because you refuse to go down in
- 8:48those paths, to go down into the dump, to go down into the
- 8:52garbage and the waste that they spend their lives and time and
- 8:57energy in. Friends, we are called out.
- 9:00We are the called out ones. We are the ecclesia.
- 9:04We are marked by his goodness and grace and mercy and love,
- 9:08and we shower the world with His glory as He shines upon us.
- 9:13We are the salt friends and we are the light and we are called
- 9:17to not love the world or anything in the world, to not be
- 9:21stained by the world friends. But we are those that are the
- 9:26difference makers. We're the peacemakers and we are
- 9:29more than conquerors and goddess for us.
- 9:32And no one can be against us. And he's going to perform his
- 9:35will and there are many inside those camps that are going to be
- 9:39called out with us just as we were once.
- 9:42Those people, they will come out of the those things and be
- 9:45ministers of reconciliation in those camps, and God will call
- 9:49them back into those places to minister and to pull more
- 9:54firebrands out of the fire. Five, who shall give account to
- 10:02him that is ready to to judge the quick and the dead?
- 10:08Think about it, friends, Jesus Christ stands ready and he's
- 10:11looking at his Father and he's saying, is it the time yet?
- 10:15And the Father says, no, not yet.
- 10:17There are still more to come into the fold.
- 10:20He doesn't even know the day, only the Father knows the day,
- 10:24but he stands ready to judge. He stands ready, friends, to
- 10:28give us our rewards. He stands ready to make his
- 10:32enemies a footstool under his feet. 6/4 For this cause was the
- 10:42gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might
- 10:50be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to
- 10:56God in the Spirit. So we just read in the last
- 11:01chapter that Jesus descended into she.
- 11:04Oh, He descended into the lower parts, into hell, and He
- 11:08preached to the spirits, and it says here that He had preached
- 11:13to even those that are dead and given them an opportunity, and
- 11:17they all must come in the same way that you and I did.
- 11:20Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life, and no one
- 11:24comes unto the Father except through Him by being covered in
- 11:28the blood of Jesus Christ. That is the only way that we can
- 11:31stand before a holy God and to be in His presence is because of
- 11:36what Jesus did and not anything that we have done.
- 11:41Seven. But the end of all things is at
- 11:46hand. Be you therefore sober and watch
- 11:53unto prayer. So all the way back here in
- 11:56Peter's time, there was the end. How much more is at the end in
- 12:01our time. And we would do well to be the
- 12:03generation that seeks his face. Oh Jacob, we open the gates up
- 12:09and allow his presence to come in.
- 12:11Friends, we go in with praise and Thanksgiving.
- 12:15How much should we? More so be those that look up
- 12:21and wait expectantly at Jesus Christ triumphant return A and
- 12:28above all things, have fervent charity among yourselves, for
- 12:33charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
- 12:37Think about it friends. This charity is agape love.
- 12:41This is love in action, friends. This is actually putting feet to
- 12:47what we say. This is actually going out into
- 12:50the highways, in the hedges, in the byways, into the homeless
- 12:53camps, into the homeless shelters, in the overpass, under
- 12:58the overpass. Friends, this is going out and
- 13:01actually doing the things that God has called us into and not
- 13:05sitting on our blessed assurance.
- 13:07And this love covers the multitude of sins.
- 13:11Never forget that nine use hospitality one to another
- 13:17without grudging. Do not forget to show
- 13:20hospitality in by doing so some have entertained angels unaware.
- 13:2710 As every man has received the gift, Even so minister the same
- 13:34one to another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
- 13:39This is all different kinds of parts coming together as one.
- 13:43These gifts that are given by the Holy Spirit for each of us,
- 13:47and we need to be walking in that gifting that He has given
- 13:52to us. We need to steward the gifting
- 13:54well. We don't need to just be those
- 13:57that think that the gifts are of old and they are not relevant
- 14:01for us today. We still have the gifts of the
- 14:05Holy Spirit, and He expects for us to operate within the
- 14:10giftings that he has placed on us. 11 If any man speaks, let
- 14:19him speak as the oracles of God. If any man minister, let him do
- 14:24it as of the ability which God gives, that God in all things
- 14:31may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and
- 14:38dominion forever and ever. Amen.
- 14:41So he's saying, if you speak, speak the words of God, Let
- 14:44every man be a liar. The only truth that is in this
- 14:48entire world is the Word of God. Everything else is man's
- 14:52opinion. And if you are called to
- 14:54minister, do it with all your strength, with all your mind,
- 14:58friends, do it with all of your heart.
- 15:00Do it with all of the strength that you can muster up.
- 15:04Do not be black. Do not be lazy.
- 15:07This is not the time to grow weary, friends, but we do it all
- 15:12for Christ and unto Christ because He is worthy.
- 15:15He is worthy of all of our attention and adoration and
- 15:19affection. Friends, give him his due honor,
- 15:22Give Him His due praise, and go out and do the things that He's
- 15:26asked you to do. 12 Beloved, I think it not strange concerning
- 15:34the fiery trial, which is to try you as though some strange thing
- 15:39has happened to you. So you need to understand that
- 15:42these fiery trials that come, they produce the character and
- 15:46the perseverance. They produce the Saints that God
- 15:50is after. And he knows just what to allow
- 15:54in your life. Just like the book of Job, He
- 15:57knows how to get the character that he's after for all of
- 16:01eternity, which by the way, is a very long time.
- 16:05It is forever and ever and ever and ever.
- 16:09And God only has 120 years time at best to get you ready for
- 16:14glory. And that is the purpose and the
- 16:18plan for all of the fiery trials that are coming your way.
- 16:21Don't think that it's a strange thing that you're having to go
- 16:25through all of the things that you are 13 but rejoice in as
- 16:33much as you are partakers of Christ's sufferings, that when
- 16:40his glory shall be revealed, you may be glad also with exceeding
- 16:46joy. I pray that you look forward to
- 16:50the day of Christ's return. I pray that you are hastening
- 16:54that day. I pray that you are those that
- 16:57look up to see that your redemption is drawing near.
- 17:01I pray that when He comes, you will have exceeding joy and you
- 17:06will receive the crown and you will receive the rewards.
- 17:10Friends, I pray that you're not those that just are wanting to
- 17:15build a Kingdom here on this earth and they're not looking
- 17:18forward to the Kingdom to come. I pray that you are not just
- 17:22self seeking, that you are not in love with money, that you're
- 17:27not in love with pleasure and not in love with vanity and self
- 17:31and not in love with this world. Friends, I pray that you are
- 17:35those that wait expectantly upon the groom to return, and you
- 17:41will have exceeding joy, and you will receive rewards. 14 If you
- 17:50be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are you, for the
- 17:56spirit of glory and of God rests on you.
- 18:01On their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is
- 18:08glorified. Jesus told us all the way back
- 18:12in the Sermon on the Mount. He told us to rejoice whenever
- 18:19we suffer for Him. And he says that they persecuted
- 18:24him so they will persecute us, and they hated Him so they will
- 18:28hate us. But he says, count it all as
- 18:31joy, and we might not see it and feel it, but we have to believe
- 18:38that it's all culminating. And He is well pleased whenever
- 18:43we suffer for his namesake and there is a reward attached to it
- 18:49and we won't see it in the here and the now and in our flesh.
- 18:53We want to resist it in our flesh.
- 18:55We want to fight it in our flesh.
- 18:57We want to speak all kinds of evil or weasel our way out of
- 19:02those pigeon holes, friends, but just know that if we will endure
- 19:07patiently, there is a reward attached to it for all of
- 19:11eternity. You might get comfort in the
- 19:15here and the now, but you will squander that reward if you
- 19:20fight back. 15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, as a
- 19:29thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busy body in others men's
- 19:35matters. Keep your nose out of other
- 19:38people's stuff, friends. Keep your mouth shut, friends.
- 19:43We only speak when the Lord gives us the words to speak.
- 19:47We don't put our nose in other men's business, friends.
- 19:51You must try to live peaceably and as much as you are able to,
- 19:58friends, and we must respect those that are in authority over
- 20:03us, and not be the pot stirrers, not be those that are practicing
- 20:08division and dissension, and those that are always trying to
- 20:14stir up trouble. That is not becoming of a St.
- 20:1916. Yet if any man suffer as a
- 20:22Christian, let him not be ashamed.
- 20:28But let him glorify God on this behalf.
- 20:32Think about it, friends. If you're suffering for being a
- 20:35Christ, follower, a little Christ.
- 20:39If you're suffering for it, count it all as joy.
- 20:44There is a great reward for you. But make sure you're not
- 20:48suffering for doing the wrong thing.
- 20:50There is no glory in that. 17 For the time has come that
- 20:55judgment must begin at the House of God.
- 21:01And if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them
- 21:07that obey not the gospel of God? So we are the first to be
- 21:13judged, the Christians, the Church, the bride.
- 21:16We go up to the Bema seat while the rest of the world is down
- 21:21here experiencing hell on earth. The Bible says it'll be worse
- 21:26than it's ever been since the beginning of mankind.
- 21:29It'll be worse than the days of Noah, and if God had not cut
- 21:33those days short, no one would survive.
- 21:36But while that is going on, you and I, Christian, we are at the
- 21:40Bema seat of Christ, suffering the rewards of the righteous
- 21:46friends. And most of what we do is wood,
- 21:49hay and stubble, and only the things that we did and did not
- 21:53seek recognition for that we will receive a reward for all of
- 21:59eternity. And it's also, as He has painted
- 22:03the picture here in this chapter, it is also for
- 22:06suffering for His name's sake. These martyrs and those that are
- 22:12persecuted will receive their rewards.
- 22:16And it starts with us, the judgment starts with us.
- 22:19But how much worse will it be at the Great White Throne, Friends,
- 22:24whenever there are many who stand and say, we prophesied in
- 22:28your name, and we cast out demons in your name, and we
- 22:31perform miracles in your name. And he says, depart from me, for
- 22:35I never knew you. There are many who will try to
- 22:38come with their pedigree and their resume, their humanitarian
- 22:42efforts and all the money that they gave away to all of these
- 22:46organizations, and it will amount to nothing and all those
- 22:49that do things for people and they seek recognition on social
- 22:54media. There is no reward for that.
- 22:56Friends. 18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall
- 23:05the ungodly and the Sinner appear?
- 23:10We're saved by the skin of our teeth.
- 23:12We don't deserve heaven, we deserve hell, friends, we
- 23:18deserve to be eternally separated from a loving God
- 23:22because of all of the evil that we have done.
- 23:25But praise be to God, Hallelujah, Hosanna in the
- 23:30highest that Jesus Christ made away where there was no way.
- 23:35And if we're scarcely saved, what about those that refuse to
- 23:43be clothed and bathed in the blood of Jesus Christ?
- 23:47There is no salvation for them. 19 will end here.
- 23:53Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God,
- 24:00commit the keeping of their souls to Him in well doing.
- 24:06As unto a faithful Creator, praise God, Hallelujah.
- 24:10We have a faithful Creator, we have a loving Creator, we have a
- 24:14graceful Creator, we have a good God, and we praise him that He
- 24:19is good. And He made away friends, and we
- 24:25must come in through His Son Jesus Christ.
- 24:30There is no other way. I hope you've been blessed by
- 24:33this chapter here in God's Word. I know I sure have.
- 24:46I'm grateful that you made it all the way here.
- 24:50Thank you for tuning in. Thank you for getting your nose
- 24:55in the Word. Thank you for being here on this
- 24:59journey. I pray that God's Word has
- 25:03become alive and active and quickened in the inner man.
- 25:10I pray that you have joy and peace.
- 25:15I pray that you have love. I pray that you have purpose.
- 25:25God bless you. We'll see you back here
- 25:30tomorrow.
