- 0:50SPEAKER_01: I can't wait.
- 0:51SPEAKER_01: So are are we bringing in um, you know, like the cowsils or the the Brady, the Brady bunch?
- 0:58SPEAKER_01: Is that as a family, is that who we're close?
- 1:01SPEAKER_00: You're close.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: It you may wonder, Jeff, why why I had you meet me.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: We're not at eccentric Ladyland Studios tonight.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: We are at Dave and Busters, which it it's they do a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner here.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: You know, it's nobody, I don't think people know that, but they do a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: They have they have turkey.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: Now, you know, I mean they make turkey here, right?
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: So you may wonder why I had you meet me here instead of the studio.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: Well, I did.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: Jeff, there's a very good reason.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: We've got some really important guests tonight.
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: You know how, you know, we had my mom on, and then we had your dad on, and we had you know my ex-girlfriend on.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: We're getting them all here tonight.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: We're getting them all here tonight.
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: They're all coming tonight, and we're gonna introduce my mom and your dad.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: So this is the first time we've had more than one guest at one time.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: I know, and this is first first time first one we've done outside the studio.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: Oh, this is a good idea.
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: That's so exciting.
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: It's so exciting.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: The the acoustics here are actually pretty good considering the arcade games going on.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: It's I I'm really I'm kind of amazed.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: I I didn't really know that.
- 2:06SPEAKER_01: And Steve, I I you know, I know initially I I wanted to be in that big cage where they have all the balls.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: I thought that would be a good place to do the interview.
- 2:14SPEAKER_01: But I think you were right to kind of stay away from that.
- 2:16SPEAKER_01: It might get a little loud, so I think this is a good choice.
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: I can still see the skee ball uh games and the called where you throw the ball.
- 2:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, the ski ball, the ski ball.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: Well, you know, the problem with that cage isn't it's not so much the basketballs hitting against it.
- 2:32SPEAKER_00: Those are loud, but it's the the bells that keep going off.
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: That's it would be distracting, you know.
- 2:37SPEAKER_00: And I mess this with my ADD, so we we can't do that.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: But but Jeff, Jeff, look who's coming to the table now.
- 2:44SPEAKER_00: You recognize her?
- 2:45SPEAKER_00: You haven't seen her since we were kids.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: But you recognize her, huh?
- 2:48SPEAKER_01: I do.
- 2:49SPEAKER_01: That's your mom.
- 2:50SPEAKER_01: That's my mom.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: Hey mom, how are you doing?
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: Oh mom, they don't allow smoking in here, mom.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: Really, you gotta put that out.
- 2:56SPEAKER_05: Oh, I was outside, Steve.
- 2:59SPEAKER_05: It's it's cold out there.
- 3:00SPEAKER_05: There's it's loud in here.
- 3:02SPEAKER_05: It's loud in here.
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: Hi, Mrs.
- 3:05SPEAKER_01: Steve.
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: Good to see you again.
- 3:08SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it's alright to see you two.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: Uh Mom, you're the best.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: Mom, you're looking great.
- 3:15SPEAKER_00: You're looking great.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: That's that's a new house dress.
- 3:18SPEAKER_05: No, it's it's got pockets on here.
- 3:20SPEAKER_05: Because I went out to the car to get you some quarters for the games.
- 3:23SPEAKER_05: Oh, yeah.
- 3:24SPEAKER_05: I figured you'd like some quarters for the games and the the crane machine.
- 3:28SPEAKER_05: See if you can get yourself a stuffed bear.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: Oh, I really I I like those.
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: You know, I had that stuffed bear when I was a kid, and I really like that one.
- 3:36SPEAKER_05: Oh, I still have it.
- 3:37SPEAKER_05: I sleep with it.
- 3:39SPEAKER_00: Oh, wow.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: That means a lot to me, Mom.
- 3:41SPEAKER_05: Yeah, you can't add it back.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: Oh, okay.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: I better win one then.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: But mom, mom, it's so good to see you.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: And and you know, we're we're we're expecting Jeff's stay out here anytime now.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: He's just funny, Steve, you mentioned prison.
- 3:55SPEAKER_01: I yeah, well, I thought I saw him in the parking lot, and I did remember, you know, since he got out of prison, there was something about not being around children or being within a certain distance, and you know, that that could be a problem, but I think he was gonna talk to his parole officer and see if he could work that out.
- 4:11SPEAKER_01: So I'm expecting him to be accused.
- 4:14SPEAKER_05: He was he was fall- I'm he was probably falsely accused.
- 4:17SPEAKER_05: I bet there's nothing to that at all.
- 4:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, and there are quite a few young people here, so if that that might be a problem, but well and I'm glad and Mrs.
- 4:27SPEAKER_01: Steve, I'm glad that you you say that.
- 4:29SPEAKER_01: I'm kind of wondering, are you basing that on watching the podcast?
- 4:32SPEAKER_01: Or have you have you met uh my father before?
- 4:35SPEAKER_05: No, I probably I probably watched it on a podcast.
- 4:38SPEAKER_05: It was I think it was on TV sometime.
- 4:40SPEAKER_05: I think I saw it in the newspaper.
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 4:43SPEAKER_00: Or I think it was on the AOL, maybe the maybe.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: I don't know, but just on the Facebook.
- 4:48SPEAKER_05: I probably saw it on the Facebook.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: On the Facebook, yeah, that was it.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: Because we we do a lot there.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's that's well, and we have another guest.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: And Jeff, Jeff, you know who's coming in?
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: You recognize now I don't know if you've met her, because you know, we went to different high schools at the same time, but they were different high schools.
- 5:07SPEAKER_00: But this is my ex-girlfriend.
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: Remember?
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: Meg?
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: Remember Meg?
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: Hey, Meg.
- 5:13SPEAKER_00: Meg, all the way from O'Cala, Florida.
- 5:15SPEAKER_00: Meg, thanks for thanks for making the trip up here.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: A little cold, but hey, thanks for coming up.
- 5:20SPEAKER_04: It's freezing.
- 5:22SPEAKER_04: This is exactly why I went to Florida.
- 5:25SPEAKER_04: I can't believe I came back.
- 5:27SPEAKER_04: Yeah, me neither, Meg.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: Came back for all the right reasons, though, Meg.
- 5:30SPEAKER_00: I'll tell you.
- 5:31SPEAKER_00: Oh man, this is a this is what family's all about, Jeff.
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: This is why we, this is what the family is.
- 5:37SPEAKER_00: We get everybody together and we get in a place, a really warm, friendly place, like, you know, Dave and Buster's here.
- 5:43SPEAKER_00: And we have a Thanksgiving dinner.
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: Well, I think it's great.
- 5:46SPEAKER_01: And and is it what is that term?
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: Is there a term uh friendsgiving?
- 5:50SPEAKER_01: Have you heard of that?
- 5:52SPEAKER_01: Where like you have a Thanksgiving dinner, but it's not your immediate family.
- 5:56SPEAKER_01: Sometimes there are people you don't even know, sometimes places you weren't even invited to, and but they're called friendsgiving.
- 6:05SPEAKER_05: I think that's just going to Golden Corral.
- 6:08SPEAKER_01: Oh, you know, we could have gone there.
- 6:10SPEAKER_05: You just go, you sit with whoever it doesn't matter if you know them or you're related.
- 6:15SPEAKER_01: I thought initially I thought it would have something to do with, you know, friends, because you know, Jennifer Aniston, I have Jennifer Aniston's nose.
- 6:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:21SPEAKER_01: And so I thought maybe it was like Matthew Perry and Jennifer Aniston.
- 6:25SPEAKER_01: They get together for Thanksgiving, and it's called Friendsgiving.
- 6:28SPEAKER_01: But I I could be off on that.
- 6:30SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 6:30SPEAKER_00: I think that's just called like going to dinner, like mom said.
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: You know, and and we were gonna go to Golden Corral, Mom, because I know you like that place.
- 6:37SPEAKER_00: You like the the way they do the potatoes and all, but uh and and Meg, you remember they got I think the lunch lady from our school must work over there.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: They do this, they got the same the same risk with the thing.
- 6:48SPEAKER_00: But you know, I d I didn't put in the reservation early enough and they get crowded.
- 6:51SPEAKER_05: Oh, Stevie.
- 6:52SPEAKER_05: Oh, they it it's it's high demand this time of year.
- 6:56SPEAKER_05: They put although I I don't know, I can't stand the smell, I can't really stand the smell of of Golden Corral right now.
- 7:03SPEAKER_05: It just it does not sit well with me.
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: Oh, really?
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: So smells are I mean they mop the place every couple weeks.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: I mean, I don't know.
- 7:11SPEAKER_00: It shouldn't be too bad.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: No, and and and Meg smells are upsetting you, huh?
- 7:16SPEAKER_01: Hmm Yeah, and and Meg, are are I don't remember from the last time you were on.
- 7:21SPEAKER_01: Are you married?
- 7:22SPEAKER_01: Are you uh divorced?
- 7:23SPEAKER_01: Like what's going on with you?
- 7:24SPEAKER_01: Uh if you if I might be so personal.
- 7:26SPEAKER_04: Divorce.
- 7:27SPEAKER_04: I was I was married and and then now I'm divorced.
- 7:31SPEAKER_04: Still divorced.
- 7:33SPEAKER_01: Was it your fault?
- 7:34SPEAKER_04: Absolutely not my fault.
- 7:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm sure not.
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 7:38SPEAKER_00: And Jeff, you know, she's divorced for now, but maybe not for long, if you know what I mean.
- 7:44SPEAKER_01: You double you.
- 7:47SPEAKER_01: Well, all I'll say is, you know, from from where I'm sitting, Steve, if you don't want her, I know my dad will.
- 7:53SPEAKER_01: Oh, you will.
- 7:54SPEAKER_00: Well, I have some other ideas for your dad, because your dad and my mom, I think, are just a perfect match.
- 8:00SPEAKER_00: Don't don't you think so, mom?
- 8:02SPEAKER_00: We've talked a little about him.
- 8:04SPEAKER_05: So I I'd like to get to know Meg.
- 8:06SPEAKER_05: How come we're not talking to Meg?
- 8:07SPEAKER_05: Because she was around before, and you thought that she wasn't good enough for you, Stevie, and I have to admit I agree.
- 8:14SPEAKER_05: So um, I think you're older, you don't look as good as you used to.
- 8:19SPEAKER_05: Maybe now is the time.
- 8:21SPEAKER_05: Maybe now, maybe she is a good fit.
- 8:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 8:24SPEAKER_04: I will say though, Mrs.
- 8:26SPEAKER_04: Steve, you you don't look any different.
- 8:28SPEAKER_04: You you just look so beautiful and kind of glowing.
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you know, you got like a glow here.
- 8:34SPEAKER_00: It's okay.
- 8:35SPEAKER_05: I'm using it, there was a coupon uh in the right around right around the obits this week for uh for a lotion.
- 8:41SPEAKER_05: I've been using a different lotion.
- 8:43SPEAKER_05: My skin's real dry.
- 8:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it happens in the winter when you know it gets cold and all.
- 8:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 8:48SPEAKER_00: Well, mom, you know, I I don't know if she wasn't good enough for me.
- 8:51SPEAKER_00: It's just we, you know, we kind of only went out like a little.
- 8:55SPEAKER_01: And didn't and Meg, didn't you say that you actually don't remember literally going out with it?
- 8:59SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I don't know if we ever went out.
- 9:01SPEAKER_04: Maybe it was like we both just were in the same place at the same time.
- 9:06SPEAKER_05: Well, that's I don't know if we could really consider that a date, but it's kind of like we met He had a lot of pictures of you though.
- 9:13SPEAKER_05: There were a lot of pictures of you at our house, Meg.
- 9:16SPEAKER_00: Oh, that whole wall.
- 9:17SPEAKER_00: That whole one wall in my room.
- 9:18SPEAKER_05: Yeah, just different angles, mostly black and white.
- 9:22unknown: Yeah.
- 9:22SPEAKER_04: I I I actually I kind of remember Steve from high school, but I've you know, it was only recently when he reached out on Facebook and asked me to to be on the podcast, and I thought, you know, I could be famous, so sure, let's do it, but I don't actually remember so much about high school.
- 9:43SPEAKER_01: So Meg, does it does it look like, you know, is that is that flame still burning a little bit for Steve um at this point in your life?
- 9:52SPEAKER_04: Uh a flame, you say?
- 9:55SPEAKER_04: Uh well, you know, I I can't say I I don't know if I'd call it a flame.
- 10:02SPEAKER_04: Let's let's just say maybe fires are dangerous.
- 10:08SPEAKER_05: Fires are dangerous, man.
- 10:09SPEAKER_05: It's usually it's it's where things are just comfortable and like a lukewarm vibe.
- 10:15SPEAKER_05: If you think uh he's not so scary, and I could share a meal with him.
- 10:21SPEAKER_05: I I'd like to play skee ball in the next lane.
- 10:25SPEAKER_05: I think that's enough.
- 10:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, and Steve, I'm I'm no matchmaker, Steve, but Meg's giving off some pretty strong vibes.
- 10:32SPEAKER_01: And I'm in a weird way, so's your mom.
- 10:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 10:35SPEAKER_01: So uh I don't know what that is.
- 10:37SPEAKER_00: You and me both, Jeff.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: I'm I'm feeling it both ways here, you know.
- 10:41SPEAKER_00: And Meg, you know, maybe it's not a flame, but maybe if we just start with like a match, a little match.
- 10:48SPEAKER_00: We'd strike a match, one of those ones with the blue thing that you can strike anywhere, you know.
- 10:53SPEAKER_04: And and I mean I I did come to Dave and Buster's to have Thanksgiving dinner with you.
- 11:00SPEAKER_04: So I guess we're we're somewhere.
- 11:02SPEAKER_00: We're we're making progress.
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: That's see, that's that's what it's all about.
- 11:07SPEAKER_00: Just one step ahead, one step in front of the other.
- 11:10SPEAKER_05: She didn't say no, Stevie.
- 11:12SPEAKER_05: She didn't say no.
- 11:13SPEAKER_00: That's what I'm saying.
- 11:14SPEAKER_05: She didn't say no like the others.
- 11:15SPEAKER_05: Yeah, you run with that.
- 11:16SPEAKER_05: You run with that.
- 11:18SPEAKER_00: And I'm familiar with no.
- 11:19SPEAKER_00: I I hear no.
- 11:20SPEAKER_00: That's true.
- 11:21SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it it's it hasn't slowed you.
- 11:23SPEAKER_05: It hasn't been like that.
- 11:23SPEAKER_05: No, oh no, no.
- 11:25SPEAKER_00: I know, I know for every no, I'm closer to that yes.
- 11:28SPEAKER_00: Even if it takes a million no's.
- 11:31SPEAKER_00: And it it does.
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: But I'm still closer.
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: Well, you know what they say, there's no I and no.
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: There you go.
- 11:37SPEAKER_00: That's it.
- 11:37SPEAKER_00: That's it exactly.
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: And there's no you and no either.
- 11:40SPEAKER_00: So there you go.
- 11:41SPEAKER_00: So it doesn't really affect us at all, does it?
- 11:44SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 11:45SPEAKER_01: And you know, speaking of what's what could be missing here, I'm still looking for my dad.
- 11:50SPEAKER_01: Um, yeah, you know, truth is he's not really my dad, because I there's something going on there, you know, that was never completely clarified as far as what happened to him.
- 11:58SPEAKER_00: He's gonna be your dad.
- 11:59SPEAKER_01: He's sort of your dad.
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he wants to be my dad.
- 12:03SPEAKER_05: His camera probably just broke down.
- 12:06SPEAKER_05: I'm sure that he cares about you in his own way.
- 12:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah, or maybe he went to that other Dave and Buster's, you know.
- 12:11SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 12:12SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah, there is that other Dave and Buster's.
- 12:15SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I hope not.
- 12:17SPEAKER_00: I hope not.
- 12:18SPEAKER_01: But or maybe he's maybe he's stuck in one of those cages with all the plastic balls.
- 12:23SPEAKER_00: Oh, could be.
- 12:24SPEAKER_00: He's off he's off to a ski ball, I bet.
- 12:27SPEAKER_00: He's probably betting on it too.
- 12:29SPEAKER_01: Such an athlete.
- 12:30SPEAKER_01: You know.
- 12:30SPEAKER_00: But but you know, you know, you know what one thing that does.
- 12:34SPEAKER_05: He does have stamina.
- 12:35SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 12:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: Mom, mom, you know about his stamina, huh?
- 12:39SPEAKER_04: Well, Steve, do you know Jeff's dad?
- 12:42SPEAKER_04: What?
- 12:42SPEAKER_04: Do you know Jeff's dad?
- 12:44SPEAKER_04: Have you met him before?
- 12:45SPEAKER_05: Uh I I um I think I might probably saw a picture of him.
- 12:50SPEAKER_00: Um, and you can tell stamina from a picture, yeah, sure.
- 12:54SPEAKER_01: He's a looker.
- 12:55SPEAKER_01: You know, if I were you, I would bet the lottery with that number that's right under his face.
- 13:00SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, that uh what was it, 2049763?
- 13:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah it's like two billion dollars is what the lottery is.
- 13:09SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, yeah.
- 13:10SPEAKER_00: And then and then maybe do a 21 for the Powerball, you know, something like just something cute like that, you know.
- 13:16SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 13:16SPEAKER_01: Although my dad would probably want like 69, but yeah.
- 13:20SPEAKER_00: But they don't go that high.
- 13:21SPEAKER_00: He's crazy.
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: But yeah, but but but Jeff, you know something I d I gotta tell you, Jeff, not only do we have this wonderful family gathering, this wonderful Thanksgiving dinner, but Jeff, we got a brand new sponsor.
- 13:36SPEAKER_00: Wow.
- 13:37SPEAKER_00: And and you know, Jeff, they wanted to do one of those like old-time TV commercials where we just talk it, like right in the show.
- 13:45SPEAKER_00: We just kind of do it.
- 13:46SPEAKER_00: They didn't want one of the produced ones, you know.
- 13:48SPEAKER_00: So you know what this company does, Jeff, this company you know how all those celebrities, they all look like they got like a two or three day growth and that's like cool and that's hipster stuff and everybody wants that look.
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: Well, how do you get that look?
- 14:02SPEAKER_00: How do you keep that look?
- 14:03SPEAKER_00: I mean you can let it grow for a few days, but then if you shave, if you keep letting it grow, it gets too long.
- 14:10SPEAKER_00: If you shave, then you're back to zero, right?
- 14:13SPEAKER_00: That's right.
- 14:13SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: This company, they call themselves the three-day shave club.
- 14:18SPEAKER_00: And they have a tool that will shave you just close enough that you look like you haven't shaved in three days.
- 14:25SPEAKER_00: So it's a grooming device that lets you look like you haven't shaved.
- 14:30SPEAKER_00: Isn't that cool?
- 14:31SPEAKER_01: That sounds amazing.
- 14:32SPEAKER_00: That is so cool.
- 14:33SPEAKER_00: And it it they call it the uh stubble pr the stubble mate.
- 14:37SPEAKER_00: So it's it just you go and you shave and it it leaves the stubble there.
- 14:41SPEAKER_00: So it's not that looks not just for you know Robert Patterson, Hugh Jackman, or that that weird guy in the parking lot I saw out there too.
- 14:48SPEAKER_00: I you know, that guy.
- 14:49SPEAKER_00: You know, it's for all of us now.
- 14:51SPEAKER_00: Anybody can have that with the three-day shave club.
- 14:55SPEAKER_00: Oh, and you know, they also do they also produce a fine line of men's sense.
- 15:00SPEAKER_00: Now I don't mean sense like having sense, because you know, that's that's kind of a lost cause for men's sense.
- 15:07SPEAKER_00: But but but I digress.
- 15:09SPEAKER_00: Men's sense, like the smell, you know.
- 15:11SPEAKER_00: And they've got some smells that really, you know, one of the problems that they saw is that people are they're all you kind of smell them like the chemicals and the, you know, and mints and stuff.
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: No, no, no, no.
- 15:21SPEAKER_00: So they have they have some really good male scents.
- 15:23SPEAKER_00: They've got uh Cuban cigar, which I I thought I'm wearing some right now, in fact.
- 15:28SPEAKER_00: They have uh weed and Doritos, which I know, Jeff, I bet you're gonna like that one.
- 15:32SPEAKER_00: And uh they have an uptown funk, you know.
- 15:34SPEAKER_00: So uh give these three-day shave club people a try.
- 15:38SPEAKER_00: I think I'm gonna go for a three-day stubble, Jeff.
- 15:41SPEAKER_00: I don't know about you.
- 15:42SPEAKER_00: Well meeting.
- 15:44SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry, I'm sorry, mom.
- 15:45SPEAKER_00: Mom, you had that look long before Robert Patterson, let me tell you.
- 15:48SPEAKER_00: I remember that.
- 15:50SPEAKER_05: Stevie, I was gonna do it on my leg.
- 15:53SPEAKER_05: Get your head out of the I I was gonna shave my legs with them.
- 15:57SPEAKER_05: I just it's harder like, yeah.
- 15:59SPEAKER_01: Wow, that no no offense, uh Mrs.
- 16:02SPEAKER_01: Steve, but I remember vividly first time we met, you gave me this big hug, and um I literally drew blood on my face from you know, I think it was it was more around your chin um area.
- 16:14SPEAKER_01: So uh yeah, I'm I I'm glad you've uh taken care of that.
- 16:18SPEAKER_01: And you know, it was good memory.
- 16:20SPEAKER_01: I mean, it in some ways it brought us closer.
- 16:23SPEAKER_01: But but yeah, you're dealing with that.
- 16:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and I and I'm too close.
- 16:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah, a little too close.
- 16:28SPEAKER_01: And I also, um, Steve, am looking forward to getting a sample of this.
- 16:32SPEAKER_01: I know that some of these uh commercials we do, you know, there's pharmaceutical products and you know, you need prescriptions.
- 16:39SPEAKER_01: But in this case, I'm hoping that the manufacturer will give us a sample or two because I've got some unwanted hair in a number of places on my body.
- 16:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:48SPEAKER_01: And uh, if this can help with that, I think that would make all the difference in the world.
- 16:52SPEAKER_00: Well, now, you know, you know you raise an interesting point.
- 16:54SPEAKER_00: They made this more for like beards, but all kinds of body hair could benefit from a three-day growth as opposed to ungroomed or completely groomed.
- 17:06SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 17:06SPEAKER_01: And and as a guy, I think we all know what I'm talking.
- 17:09SPEAKER_01: I mean, we're kind of dancing around, but we're talking about the armpits.
- 17:13SPEAKER_01: You know, it's there's just yeah, the armpits are just they're uh a cypressore eyes.
- 17:18SPEAKER_01: You know, you get all sweaty and then.
- 17:20SPEAKER_01: If they weren't sore of the sore, those eyes will be sore after they see it.
- 17:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah, exactly.
- 17:25SPEAKER_01: I'm looking forward to using it for that and anywhere else where a hair or two might pop up, yet not get rid of completely, but trim it down.
- 17:33SPEAKER_01: Trim it down, yes.
- 17:34SPEAKER_01: Yes, exactly.
- 17:35SPEAKER_01: Trim it down.
- 17:36SPEAKER_01: A saying that they may want to adopt.
- 17:37SPEAKER_01: I like I like that idea.
- 17:39SPEAKER_01: Trim it down, but you don't want them to think it means trimming it down somewhere else.
- 17:44SPEAKER_01: Too far.
- 17:45SPEAKER_01: Well, no, not too far down, but trimming it down.
- 17:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah, down but not down, you know, yeah.
- 17:50SPEAKER_00: No.
- 17:51SPEAKER_00: So so Meg, you think you think if I had like a three-day growth that I'd look a little better?
- 17:57SPEAKER_04: Well, you know, half grooming is it's kind of coming in style.
- 18:01SPEAKER_04: You don't want to look too groomed, you don't want to, you know, not be groomed at all.
- 18:05SPEAKER_04: So kind of that half groomed, it is in style, you know.
- 18:09SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 18:10SPEAKER_00: I think I'd look very, very smart in in those those photos of you and me, Meg, that I'm sure we'll take in the future.
- 18:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, Meg, do you now I know Steve has a number of those photos in in his bedroom.
- 18:21SPEAKER_01: Do you have any photos of Steve from when you're you were in what was it fifth grade?
- 18:26SPEAKER_01: Was it fifth, sixth grade?
- 18:28SPEAKER_01: I don't remember.
- 18:30SPEAKER_01: Great school and high school, okay.
- 18:32SPEAKER_01: Any photos of Steve that you you could share with us?
- 18:35SPEAKER_04: Uh you know, I'd have to look in my yearbooks.
- 18:38SPEAKER_04: I I'm sure I still have them somewhere.
- 18:40SPEAKER_04: I'll I just have to dig them out and find them.
- 18:43SPEAKER_04: But I'm were you in the yearbook, Steve?
- 18:45SPEAKER_00: Well, you know, one year I wasn't.
- 18:46SPEAKER_00: Mom, you remember this because I, you know, I was in most of them, but one year I just I I don't know, I I broke a tooth and I I was a little embarrassed, so I didn't go.
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: I did school that day.
- 18:57SPEAKER_00: I stole some of mom's cigarettes and went out back, and you know, you remember that mom, right?
- 19:02SPEAKER_05: No, it was much easier than having taken you to a dentist.
- 19:06SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah.
- 19:06SPEAKER_00: Tooth is still broken here.
- 19:08SPEAKER_00: In fact, look, see?
- 19:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, still.
- 19:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, just good memory.
- 19:11SPEAKER_05: Good memory.
- 19:12SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 19:12SPEAKER_05: The next year in the yearbook when the the picture showed, just because um you you couldn't hide it.
- 19:18SPEAKER_05: I mean, it was about the size of a dime, so half a tooth here, half a tooth there.
- 19:24SPEAKER_05: It it was not my finest moment as a mother, but um, yeah, motherhood's tough.
- 19:30SPEAKER_05: Motherhood is tough.
- 19:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 19:32SPEAKER_01: Speaking of of broken teeth, that brings me back to Thanksgiving dinners because combination of my mom was she wasn't a great cook, and you know, some of that turkey got pretty uh tough to to chew.
- 19:44SPEAKER_01: And then the other thing was, you know, everybody get all liquored up and there would always be a fight, you know, somebody and then somebody would lose their front teeth.
- 19:51SPEAKER_01: That was what made Thanksgiving kind of memorable, and and really something to be grateful for, because if you didn't lose your front teeth, then you know, you felt fortunate.
- 20:01SPEAKER_01: Great.
- 20:02SPEAKER_05: Is that when your dad lost his teeth?
- 20:04SPEAKER_01: I think so.
- 20:05SPEAKER_01: Um, although he tells me he may have lost them in a in a craps game in prison.
- 20:10SPEAKER_01: So, you know, it's possible that that was where he lost them later in life, but early he should have known not to use those loaded dice in prison, man.
- 20:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they're they'll be all over that.
- 20:21SPEAKER_00: I mean, come on, you know.
- 20:22SPEAKER_04: Well, you know, they say tickle the Yeah.
- 20:25SPEAKER_04: Well, he might be in the parking lot with PTSD from some of those past Thanksgivings.
- 20:30SPEAKER_04: It sounds a little bit rough there, Jeff.
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, you know.
- 20:34SPEAKER_00: Gosh, we should I you know I feel bad that he's not here and and mom, you didn't.
- 20:39SPEAKER_05: He's not coming.
- 20:40SPEAKER_00: He's not uh you you know he's not coming?
- 20:43SPEAKER_05: He's not coming.
- 20:44SPEAKER_05: This is as good a time as any to break this to you.
- 20:47SPEAKER_05: I I I I we've been introduced physically each other.
- 20:57SPEAKER_01: So you've shaken hands and like I mean like in the same room, you mean?
- 21:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 21:01SPEAKER_05: You just run into them in the grocery store?
- 21:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah, grocery stores.
- 21:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 21:06SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 21:06SPEAKER_05: Well we there was some running in.
- 21:09SPEAKER_05: There was uh I just st Stevie, you're Stevie, you're gonna have a brother.
- 21:18SPEAKER_00: A brother?
- 21:19SPEAKER_05: A brother.
- 21:20SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
- 21:21SPEAKER_00: Oh, wait.
- 21:22SPEAKER_00: Congratulations.
- 21:23SPEAKER_00: My sister's getting that operation after all, right?
- 21:26SPEAKER_00: My sister's getting the surgery.
- 21:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, there you go.
- 21:28SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 21:28SPEAKER_00: That's great.
- 21:29SPEAKER_05: No, she's not your real sister.
- 21:31SPEAKER_00: Well, yeah, I mean she's adopted, but yeah, it doesn't really count, but long overdue.
- 21:35SPEAKER_00: But but it's not her.
- 21:37SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna have another brother.
- 21:38SPEAKER_01: And who's gonna be the who's the father of this child?
- 21:41SPEAKER_00: It's not dad.
- 21:42SPEAKER_05: Not dad.
- 21:43SPEAKER_05: It's it's not your dad.
- 21:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, he's cutting the grass to my you know.
- 21:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 21:49SPEAKER_00: I mean, you know.
- 21:52SPEAKER_00: He knows where the lawnmower is, that's about it.
- 21:54SPEAKER_05: It happened in the Camry.
- 21:56SPEAKER_00: Camry.
- 21:56SPEAKER_05: I just I couldn't resist the Camry.
- 21:59SPEAKER_05: It it was
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: The the the missing teeth the the Wait a minute the prison stories I'm Camry prison wait I know who this is talking about my dad that's Jerry Oh my god It's a geriatric pregnancy I it it's it it goes back to the first Thanksgiving so Jeff you're gonna be a brother too yeah I can't believe it Jeff we're gonna be practically related here we'll both have a relative in common I cannot tell you how shocked I am primarily because if somebody was gonna be pregnant with my dad I figured it was uh it was gonna be you um Meg you know not not Steve's mom but there's still time I I actually never met your dad yet Jeff I was hoping to meet him tonight but you know the the game where you you take a hammer and you bang on things and balls shoot up before you leave you might want to check over there because he usually likes to go there I know he he goes there often by himself so is that the whack a mole is that what they call whack a mole the whack a mole yeah it's I think it's called the the whack off I think or the whack off the whack whack off the mole yeah I know that's his favorite that is his favorite thing again which makes me surprised that he's not clear no I can't I can't there's this there's this magnetism about him I I can't I I can't I get into I get in too close it's too much wow mom wow that's great so you're you're gonna have a baby with Jerry well faux Jerry it's not real Jerry but it's it's the full Jerry a faux baby it's a faux baby maybe yeah so that means that he would be my brother and he would be Steve's brother so that means Steve Bro I don't know what that means yeah is there a name for that I think it's called Total Strangers I don't know I have no idea what happened yeah you can do the friends did the friends giving thing together after yeah and we can sing that theme song and jump in the fountain and all that stuff you know yeah it's yeah so uh Mrs.
- 24:08SPEAKER_01: Steve you know I don't know if you've been following me and and what I've been doing but this baby if this baby looks like me might have a different nose because you know I've had a nose job so you know I think my dad my dad's nose is pretty much what my nose looked like but yeah in terms of what this kid will look like.
- 24:28SPEAKER_01: Oh you remember his nose used to be really big remember now he's got Jennifer Aniston's nose which I'm not sure I well I guess she got a new one right so I was gonna say I don't know what she's got old nose pretty nice which is pretty nice smaller than yours I mean yes it's certainly was an improvement yeah it doesn't sound very sanitary to be passing them around let me drink that glass of wine for you I I I don't think you should be drinking now that you're no it's alright it's alright it's a lost cause anyway have you seen what kind of things my loins produce well and and you know Meg she drank like a fish and smoked constantly and look I turned out okay yeah that's right Stevie you are okay and okay yeah for the you know mostly yeah for the most part yeah if you don't look real close yeah yeah well this is this is something to celebrate this is a Thanksgiving celebration this is a uh a miracle wow and uh you know kind of Thanksgiving and Christmas and D-Day and all the other holidays around Vermont Independence Day I mean yeah all these all the important holidays you know and and this is all wrapped into one for me Steve this is like amazing and we have we have here a unity of your dad and my mom a new baby and maybe and maybe Meg maybe a chance with you and me what do you think Meg wow it's is she's still there yeah yeah are you speechless Meg I I'm I'm speechless yeah I I could really use another glass of wine right now I'll just say that oh they yeah the bar's open yeah and and nothing like having a few drinks on Thanksgiving I know I always do uh don't I mom you I know you do too oh i I thought that's what Thanksgiving was mostly about was the drinking it is and you have some of the turkey just to kind of soak it up a little but that's you know you don't want to do too much of the turkey because it gets in the way.
- 26:34SPEAKER_05: Well it's better if you celebrate it like the Indian St.
- 26:37SPEAKER_05: Patrick's Day.
- 26:39SPEAKER_00: Exactly yes have a little corn and uh you know you knock them back.
- 26:43SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 26:43SPEAKER_01: And do it in a casino.
- 26:45SPEAKER_00: And you have uh pumpkin beer instead of the green beer you know yeah yeah totally yeah and this is kind of like a casino and you smoke a and you smoke a pipe I we'll we'll probably do that later won't we Jeff but yeah yeah well this is kind of like a casino yeah yeah just like a casino.
- 27:01SPEAKER_01: This has been great um I always wanted a brother well another brother I do have a brother but I've always wanted another brother and uh I always wanted Steve to be in my family and it looks like I think in some way Steve we're related now.
- 27:15SPEAKER_00: I think we are I think we are and and you know mom you know I always wanted a brother and I I tried to pretend that my sister was my brother I think it I don't know probably didn't her development probably traumatized her a little yeah probably uh it wasn't the nicest thing to do but you know it's just it was coming from a place of need you know you know that's true that's true Steedy you don't apologize for your needs don't apologize for them oh that's what my mom always taught me oh that's true that's true and Meg and Meg you know speaking of needs and wants you know I'm I'm hoping that next Thanksgiving we'll give you back together and maybe there'll be a little bundle I was gonna say under the tree but I guess Thanksgiving maybe under the turkey in the turkey there'll be a bundle in the turkey sort of a a nephew for the baby nephew ooh yes ooh yes so Meg think about it we got a year year to you know yeah Meg give you and Steve to get reacquainted you're in town for a while right yeah till next Wednesday oh cool nice well that should be enough time to really make the case what do you think yeah I absolutely didn't take long last time no no according to you Steve well no I mean our our relationship was total time was probably about 15 minutes of conversation over our entire lives you know so yeah no how long could it take right well listen I you know I'm really sorry that Jerry couldn't be here today because he was that man well he's he might have them some sweff he he's not supposed to be in the facility across the street guy's just out of prison if they do the least little thing they could go he might have gotten rearrested Jeff you know I hate to say that could be and and Mrs Steve Miss Steve Miss S I think it's important that when this child's born that my dad is not incarcerated.
- 29:10SPEAKER_01: I I think that's a bad way to start so I I think you're right I think I think he probably thought ahead thought that this was not a good a good decision on his part and I'm sure we'll hook up again soon.
- 29:22SPEAKER_05: Yeah there's also a reasonable likelihood that he's back in prison.
- 29:26SPEAKER_00: I didn't I mean I last time I saw him was before dinner so it's hard to say well you know I I think I hope Jerry's okay and I I just think that our family has gotten so much out of this this event this getting together and we just our holidays are going to be beautiful I just hope all our listeners have great holidays and keep listening and we'll we'll we'll get some more shows out to you but we might might take a while because I'm gonna be I'm gonna be chasing Meg pretty hard for the next few days so probably won't get a show out for a little bit but mom you better get off your feet and uh you know let me let me take that cigarette.
- 30:07SPEAKER_01: No no come on but uh well it was it was great seeing all of you again and uh Meg good luck and with Steve and have a good trip back to Florida and uh Mrs.
- 30:20SPEAKER_00: Steve it's always a pleasure to see you um you always make my day and uh sounds like you made my dad's day mine too mine too and we'll be back next time with another exciting guest Jeff can't wait happy Thanksgiving happy Thanksgiving
