Isaacman Flies F-5s Against FAA Warning | US News
NASA’s Jared Isaacman defied FAA safety warnings to fly vintage F-5 jets over Washington D.C. for the Fourth of July air show, arguing the aircraft were now government-operated and thus exempt from civilian flight rules. The FAA denied the request citing high risk over a crowded National Mall, noting the jets were still classified as privately owned experimental aircraft at the time of review.
