- 0:10Speaker 1: Welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark, a Hallmark review podcast. I'm Megan,
- 0:13Speaker 1: and I'm a longtime Hallmark fan. I'm Whin Dearm, a
- 0:15Speaker 1: former Hallmark hater. You know what time it is, It's
- 0:18Speaker 1: time for a listener mailbag. This is number eight for
- 0:21Speaker 1: season four of The Way Home. We're getting down to it.
- 0:24Speaker 1: I do have some news for the listeners right up top, though,
- 0:28Speaker 1: what their most likely will not be an episode nine
- 0:33Speaker 1: listener mailbag? Sorry, guys, probably Megan's gone out of town
- 0:38Speaker 1: unless I record from a hotel room, which I gotta
- 0:40Speaker 1: be honest. I don't want to. Yeah, I don't. I
- 0:42Speaker 1: don't want you to either, Love y'all, just save them
- 0:45Speaker 1: all up, everybody. We'll do like a maybe, we'll do
- 0:48Speaker 1: like a post we did last year. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 0:51Speaker 1: remember Brian joined us. Yeah, we'll just do a post
- 0:54Speaker 1: wrap up. So save all those big thoughts as this
- 0:58Speaker 1: episode drops. Do you know what else comes out today? Friday? No?
- 1:04Speaker 1: The Way Home soundtrack? Oh? I did see that? Did
- 1:07Speaker 1: see something about that? June twelfth, which is the day
- 1:10Speaker 1: this episode comes out. Nice. I mean, we've only been
- 1:13Speaker 1: asking for one for four years. I'm very excited for it,
- 1:16Speaker 1: very excited. It's all original music, you know. I don't
- 1:19Speaker 1: have those details, but I do hope that Alice's new
- 1:21Speaker 1: song that she sent to Max is on it. Oh yeah,
- 1:25Speaker 1: So we're going to start this episode as we've started
- 1:27Speaker 1: several of the last episodes, with the bunch of v
- 1:30Speaker 1: yelling at us because we made a mistake. I don't
- 1:33Speaker 1: actually think we met. We got so many emails about this.
- 1:36Speaker 1: I don't put every single comment that we get because
- 1:38Speaker 1: some of them it's already been covered. So there are
- 1:41Speaker 1: three comments in here, but there were more. So that
- 1:44Speaker 1: tells me that we were not clear. In last episode,
- 1:47Speaker 1: Evie leaves the party with Cole and Dell and Vic
- 1:52Speaker 1: and Tessa, and we were like, I think you were like,
- 1:55Speaker 1: why is she mad? So Stephanie says, I don't think
- 1:58Speaker 1: Evie was just over the baby face. Wasn't it her
- 2:00Speaker 1: birthday and everyone forgot? But she assumes Alice came because
- 2:03Speaker 1: she remembered. Yeah, that's just hard, okay. In my defense,
- 2:07Speaker 1: shout out to all of you who realized that was
- 2:09Speaker 1: Evie's birthday and maybe it was not being celebrated and
- 2:12Speaker 1: that's why Evie was pissed. We have like that happens
- 2:15Speaker 1: at the top of the episode. Alice goes back to
- 2:17Speaker 1: see Evie. At the end of the episode, ish, ish,
- 2:22Speaker 1: they're not back bad. We don't know if it's the
- 2:24Speaker 1: same time frame. Sure, sure, Brandy says it was her
- 2:26Speaker 1: twenty fifth birthday and they were toasting to their babies
- 2:28Speaker 1: and going on about pregnancy symptoms. I mean, sure, some
- 2:31Speaker 1: of it is that there in different phases, but a
- 2:33Speaker 1: big part is that they are so wrapped up in
- 2:35Speaker 1: their future they stopped seeing her, And Aaron says, just
- 2:39Speaker 1: to clarify, Evie is upset at the landers in Augustine's
- 2:41Speaker 1: toasting because it's actually her birthday, which we learn in
- 2:43Speaker 1: the next scene with her and Alice. Her birthday was
- 2:46Speaker 1: forgotten by her so called friends, and she's rightfully upset
- 2:49Speaker 1: about it. So this I think has bigger implications. And
- 2:52Speaker 1: knowing what we know about Emmelyn and how she kind
- 2:54Speaker 1: of lived a little bit of a reclusive life. I
- 2:57Speaker 1: just pictured Bart Somemson like retreating into the bushes, like
- 3:00Speaker 1: she just retreats, write Homer. But yeah, oh yeah, you're right,
- 3:04Speaker 1: but he is. She does kind of retreat from public life,
- 3:08Speaker 1: so to speak. So note taken got it. Let's talk
- 3:12Speaker 1: about Evelyn, Aaron writes in So Aaron sent in a
- 3:16Speaker 1: list of things she's convinced wapping on the show. This
- 3:18Speaker 1: is when she says about Evelyn. Oh okay, Alice will
- 3:22Speaker 1: somehow confess the truth to Evie someday. I don't know
- 3:26Speaker 1: if we'll be in the eighties or shortly after she dies,
- 3:29Speaker 1: but I think that's what these interactions between Evie and
- 3:32Speaker 1: Alice are leaning towards. The person who edited the film
- 3:38Speaker 1: Real cannot be Evelyn, and it has to be someone
- 3:41Speaker 1: who is well versed in av that is audio visual guys.
- 3:46Speaker 1: It's not that she has access to YouTube where she
- 3:48Speaker 1: can learn anything from cooking to fixing cars. Perhaps she
- 3:52Speaker 1: gave it to Jasper. Nonetheless, it has to be someone
- 3:55Speaker 1: who knows how to handle film. Now I have a question.
- 3:58Speaker 1: I read this and I thought it's a film real, right,
- 4:01Speaker 1: couldn't you just had it with the scissors and maybe
- 4:05Speaker 1: take together other And yes, that one split second where
- 4:08Speaker 1: the tape is spliced together might not be perfect. It's perfect,
- 4:12Speaker 1: but it's a quick flyby. We shall see. Yeah, they're
- 4:15Speaker 1: not like and we don't know guys scanning it, downloading it,
- 4:18Speaker 1: doing in whatever complicatedness that happens today software happening. Yeah.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Lynn also says, speaking of Evelyn and her remarks and
- 4:27Speaker 1: two episodes, that Alice has an age, well neither has she.
- 4:31Speaker 1: What they should have done is had Evie and Colton
- 4:34Speaker 1: merely change their hair? Seriously, how many times did we
- 4:37Speaker 1: change our styles and colors between the ages of seventeen
- 4:40Speaker 1: and twenty five, especially during the nineteen seventies and eighties.
- 4:43Speaker 1: Only Dell and Alice should have the same style since
- 4:47Speaker 1: Dell Andy mcdell, who has worn her hair the same
- 4:49Speaker 1: throughout her life, and it's expected that Alice would stick
- 4:53Speaker 1: to her straightened and curly styles. Only even Casey has
- 4:57Speaker 1: changed things up a little bit. You know who else
- 5:00Speaker 1: a slightly different haircut this season after death Colton. When
- 5:04Speaker 1: Dale falls off Stormy and she has the visions of
- 5:06Speaker 1: Colton and young Jacob, it's obvious that Jefferson Brown cut
- 5:09Speaker 1: his hair well, I hope so, I mean, men get
- 5:12Speaker 1: their haircut like so often. Yeah, what are your thoughts
- 5:16Speaker 1: on with this here? With this whole it actually is
- 5:19Speaker 1: kind of surprising that they. I mean, I love Devin
- 5:24Speaker 1: Chiccado's hair, like her curly hair, but it is kind
- 5:27Speaker 1: of surprising because I've seen bts of and they show
- 5:31Speaker 1: Alice's wigs because she they have wigs for her. They do,
- 5:35Speaker 1: you know, she jumping in a pond all the time.
- 5:37Speaker 1: Maybe it's not always easy to like go blow it
- 5:39Speaker 1: out in style. Yeah, yeah, yeah, so yes, they do
- 5:42Speaker 1: have some wigs for her, So it is kind of
- 5:46Speaker 1: surprising that they don't. They haven't changed Evie's hair in
- 5:51Speaker 1: all of this time, like she still has her same
- 5:53Speaker 1: wave and age hair. Yeah, and especially like in the seventies,
- 5:56Speaker 1: weren't they like ironing their hair to make it straight
- 5:59Speaker 1: and stuff like that, And then I know we're not
- 6:03Speaker 1: We're like in early eighties, like you would think like
- 6:05Speaker 1: the hair would beginning like bigger and bigger, you know,
- 6:07Speaker 1: like Aquinet style. Yeah, but I don't think we've really
- 6:12Speaker 1: gotten there in the time frame the eighties. To me,
- 6:16Speaker 1: just I just picture like mohawks, big hair, big like
- 6:20Speaker 1: lots of aquin lots of AquaNet. Yeah, yeah, yeah, perm
- 6:25Speaker 1: herm did you have a perm? Do you have a perm? Yeah?
- 6:29Speaker 1: In high school? Did you? Middle school wasn't a good look,
- 6:33Speaker 1: not at all, and real crunchy bangs who thought that
- 6:41Speaker 1: was a good idea I remember like running a curling
- 6:44Speaker 1: iron through my hair was so much hairspray, and being like,
- 6:47Speaker 1: I know, I know, those were the days. Wow, Francisco
- 6:53Speaker 1: clocks in. I'm a little bit of a friend to
- 6:55Speaker 1: read it. I love his eemales. I think we were
- 7:01Speaker 1: given a bait and switch in last week's previews that
- 7:03Speaker 1: Evie discovers Alice as a time traveler, and it didn't
- 7:06Speaker 1: happen as far as Evie goes. I got the vibe
- 7:09Speaker 1: she didn't want to be the fifth wheel. This is
- 7:12Speaker 1: at the party right. Oh yeah, Colton and Dell and
- 7:14Speaker 1: Vic and Tessa are at different points in their lives now. Well,
- 7:19Speaker 1: obviously Francisco didn't realize it was Evie's birthday either, He says, now,
- 7:24Speaker 1: I do think it's premature to say that Evie pines
- 7:27Speaker 1: away her days at Lingamore until her death, because we
- 7:29Speaker 1: know from Max she didn't. I can see in the
- 7:33Speaker 1: present you may think everything is bad and will always
- 7:35Speaker 1: be bad, but you can live a whole, eventful life
- 7:38Speaker 1: between twenty five and however old she was. I just
- 7:41Speaker 1: hope the writers remember their continuity. Yeah, because she didn't
- 7:45Speaker 1: she travel with Max. Isn't that the story? I can't
- 7:48Speaker 1: really remember the details about what Max said about his grandmother,
- 7:51Speaker 1: other than that he was very affectionate towards her. Yes,
- 7:56Speaker 1: all right, we're going to talk a little bit about
- 7:58Speaker 1: Tainted Love. Aaron predicts this there's going to be a
- 8:03Speaker 1: fight at the Landry House involving Griffin, Cole, and Dell
- 8:06Speaker 1: and possibly Tessa. This was alluded to in the first
- 8:10Speaker 1: episode of the season when Rita turned on the radio
- 8:12Speaker 1: and it was Tainted Love playing the song sparks a
- 8:16Speaker 1: memory for Dell. When you can tell that Cole is
- 8:18Speaker 1: yelling at someone to get out, I think that he's
- 8:21Speaker 1: yelling at Gryffin to get out, and I'm going to
- 8:22Speaker 1: guess that it involves Tessa. Perhaps they are caught having
- 8:26Speaker 1: an affair at the Landry House and Cole kicks them out,
- 8:29Speaker 1: which makes Griffin and Tessa jump to escape being found
- 8:32Speaker 1: out by Vic. We know that Vic is gone when
- 8:34Speaker 1: Tessa disappears, which would be an opportunity for her to cheat.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Ooh ooh. You know. So what I'm wondering is like,
- 8:42Speaker 1: what makes us think in us I mean collectively, that
- 8:46Speaker 1: Griffin and Tessa like have some sort of like affair.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Is there anything that we have learned so far that
- 8:56Speaker 1: they have been involved romantically, and that's why she with him.
- 9:01Speaker 1: The only thing she leaves with him, I mean is
- 9:04Speaker 1: when she arrives at the New Year's Eve party. He's like, Evie,
- 9:07Speaker 1: introduce me to your friends. Oh yeah, that's right. Other
- 9:11Speaker 1: than that, it's just whispers of commentary about Griffin being troublesome. Okay,
- 9:17Speaker 1: so props to everybody who can keep track of it all.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Let's talk some more about Tessa. This is one of
- 9:23Speaker 1: Aaron's predictions about Tessa. She writes, Tessa is going to
- 9:26Speaker 1: hand off her baby Elliott to Evie in a rush.
- 9:29Speaker 1: Alice will show up aut Lingermore around the same time
- 9:32Speaker 1: witness the hand off, and then she tells Evie that
- 9:35Speaker 1: she knows what to do. Then she takes baby Elliott
- 9:38Speaker 1: writes the letter with him on Tessa's behalf. Maybe Alice
- 9:41Speaker 1: overhears Tessa's instructions to Evie or is told what to
- 9:45Speaker 1: say in the letter directly from Tessa. And then she
- 9:48Speaker 1: leaves Elliott at the side of the pond, knowing that
- 9:50Speaker 1: an earlier version of herself will be there shortly to
- 9:54Speaker 1: help get him where he needs to go. The Landry
- 9:57Speaker 1: House Tessa leaves hastily as a suitcase, but Griffin says, quote,
- 10:02Speaker 1: you don't need a suitcase where we're going. Is that
- 10:04Speaker 1: a Marty mcflus, like a back to the future roads
- 10:08Speaker 1: where we're going, we don't need roads? Is that the line?
- 10:11Speaker 1: It's got to be. I mean, it's got to be, Aaron, right,
- 10:13Speaker 1: it's got to be. And then they bury it instead,
- 10:18Speaker 1: so she looks more like she actually left. Now. Reading
- 10:23Speaker 1: that made me feel like Kat, like when Kat is
- 10:27Speaker 1: in discovery mode in her episodes where she's like and
- 10:30Speaker 1: then and then we're gonna do it, and then I know,
- 10:34Speaker 1: it's pretty impressive, very impressive. Aaron goes on to say,
- 10:37Speaker 1: I'm gonna guess that it was eighteen fourteen Jacob Junior
- 10:40Speaker 1: that took Tessa in. He probably would have been older
- 10:42Speaker 1: in his seventies. He died in her care, which is
- 10:44Speaker 1: why Tessa wrote the date in for Jacob's death. I
- 10:49Speaker 1: think Jacob Junior would be Fern's grandfather, So I'm guessing
- 10:52Speaker 1: the eighteen hundred Landries became Tessa's found family. She was
- 10:56Speaker 1: an honorary Landry present for Fern's birth. Oh damn, that's
- 11:03Speaker 1: an impressive leap no pun intended. Is Aaron the one
- 11:06Speaker 1: that we thought she was a writer on the show? No,
- 11:10Speaker 1: Perhaps because this is well thought out, These are just
- 11:15Speaker 1: like details that I don't really think about, Like I
- 11:17Speaker 1: have completely forgotten about Tessa writing in the Landry Book
- 11:21Speaker 1: and Fern's birth and all that stuff. Anyway, Sue writes
- 11:25Speaker 1: in she says on the Porch, Tessa does reveal to
- 11:29Speaker 1: Elliot why she jumped. She's been a thief in the past,
- 11:31Speaker 1: and she's admitted to Elliott that she didn't like the
- 11:34Speaker 1: direction she was going skip ahead to nineteen twenty five.
- 11:37Speaker 1: It's the only life she's known, so she continues her
- 11:39Speaker 1: path of destruction and is now quote the big Fish.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Another thought on Tessa. She and Griffin jump to the
- 11:46Speaker 1: eighteen hundreds and she gets sick. Where does she go?
- 11:49Speaker 1: Question mark the Landrys. The door opens and you see
- 11:52Speaker 1: a man standing there. But what if dot dot? He
- 11:56Speaker 1: takes her to Susanna to heal her, and in her
- 11:59Speaker 1: delude usion, she speaks of time travel, and Susanna reveals
- 12:03Speaker 1: to her that she knows Kat and that is why
- 12:05Speaker 1: Tessa isn't surprised when she sees her. One last thing
- 12:09Speaker 1: about Tessa and almost a did you see that?
- 12:11Speaker 2: Hey, In the.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Scene where Kat says to Tessa, I am a mother too,
- 12:16Speaker 1: and I would never leave Alice behind, Tessa whispers Alice.
- 12:20Speaker 1: Tessa met Alice in nineteen seventy nine ish, and it's
- 12:23Speaker 1: almost like she realized that Kat is actually Alice's mother. Yes,
- 12:28Speaker 1: I do remember that from that scene. She did kind
- 12:30Speaker 1: of clock yeah, And it was funny because when she
- 12:33Speaker 1: said that, I was like, Oh, what is going to
- 12:37Speaker 1: happen with Alice that we don't know about. I kind
- 12:39Speaker 1: of forgot that Tessa knew Alice, that young Tessa knew Alice.
- 12:43Speaker 1: I forgot that too. Thank you to Sue for that one.
- 12:46Speaker 1: Randy says, I got all sorts of wacky theories about
- 12:50Speaker 1: Tessa's family being mafia adjacent and are hoping to keep
- 12:53Speaker 1: Elle out of it, tied in with the guy Sam
- 12:56Speaker 1: was trying to keep in prison. Oh but could it
- 13:00Speaker 1: be as simple as a wicked case of postpartum depression.
- 13:04Speaker 1: It wasn't part of the DSM until nineteen eighty four. Now, stop,
- 13:08Speaker 1: what is DSM? The DSM five It is the categorization
- 13:13Speaker 1: of mental illnesses? Oh, okay, postpartum depression wasn't recognized until
- 13:18Speaker 1: nineteen eighty four. Apparently damn our listeners are so smart.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Tessa feels she's not connecting with the baby she loves desperately.
- 13:26Speaker 1: Maybe she has some intrusive thoughts and she doesn't know
- 13:28Speaker 1: it isn't something fundamentally broken in her. So she leaves
- 13:32Speaker 1: because she's afraid if she's with ell she'll hurt him
- 13:36Speaker 1: no matter what her story is. I've always believed and
- 13:39Speaker 1: still do that the loved she jumped for was her
- 13:43Speaker 1: love for Elliott. Oh I love that. Yeah, not for
- 13:47Speaker 1: this Griffin dude. Yeah. Francisco weighs in on Tessa, saying, honestly,
- 13:53Speaker 1: she has nothing to go back to in the present.
- 13:56Speaker 1: She doesn't have any happy reunions waiting for her. I
- 13:58Speaker 1: feel like I have to add here Griffin has more
- 14:01Speaker 1: importance regarding Tessa, but it's hard to feel invested in
- 14:05Speaker 1: a character we know next to nothing about. I agree
- 14:09Speaker 1: with that, Yeah, for sure. I think I said that
- 14:11Speaker 1: maybe in our last review. I was like, well, am
- 14:13Speaker 1: I supposed to get excited for Griffin? Like we know
- 14:17Speaker 1: literally nothing about him?
- 14:18Speaker 2: Oh?
- 14:18Speaker 1: Yeah yeah. Chris wraps up our Tessa thoughts with saying,
- 14:21Speaker 1: after rewatching, I have a thought, why didn't Tessa just
- 14:24Speaker 1: jump back with Griffin to ensure she could get the
- 14:27Speaker 1: medicine she needs. It's a good question. Yeah, it is
- 14:31Speaker 1: a good question other than being like, well, I'm sick
- 14:33Speaker 1: and I don't want to jump in the pond. But
- 14:36Speaker 1: is that a good enough reason. Well, maybe she didn't
- 14:40Speaker 1: want to come back that too. She wanted to stay away.
- 14:44Speaker 1: She thought Griffin would be able to get back to her. Yeah,
- 14:46Speaker 1: And if they go back to wherever their present day
- 14:50Speaker 1: at that time, how do you explain where have you been?
- 14:52Speaker 1: You abandoned your baby, now you're back, Like it's a
- 14:56Speaker 1: lot of it, and we don't know how much time
- 14:58Speaker 1: has passed since they left. Correct, Right, Hey, let's take
- 15:00Speaker 1: a quick break and we're gonna come back to talk
- 15:02Speaker 1: about ARCA Elliott. All right, you ready to talk about Elliott?
- 15:14Speaker 1: Sue says, Can someone tell me why Elliott in twenty
- 15:16Speaker 1: twenty six is wearing dark rimmed glasses, but in nineteen
- 15:19Speaker 1: twenty six he's wearing round wire glasses. So when I
- 15:23Speaker 1: first read this, I thought, yeah, his glasses break in
- 15:25Speaker 1: the past and he gets those round wire glasses. But
- 15:27Speaker 1: then I noticed at the end of episode eight, when
- 15:31Speaker 1: he's back in the present when he and Kat are
- 15:33Speaker 1: like trying to figure out the whole New Year's Eve thing.
- 15:36Speaker 1: He has his present day glasses on. I'm asuman he
- 15:38Speaker 1: has an extra pair. In the preview for episode nine,
- 15:42Speaker 1: he's wearing those round glasses, so he must take those
- 15:45Speaker 1: the way Cat seems to be taking her clothing with her. Yeah,
- 15:49Speaker 1: he must be like, I gotta bring my old timing glasses.
- 15:51Speaker 1: This is what. Yeah, it's part of his costume, which
- 15:55Speaker 1: is kind of silly, right, glasses glasses he had a
- 16:00Speaker 1: notice like in nineteen twenty five, like, oh dude, they're
- 16:03Speaker 1: soaking wet all the time. I mean, I think glasses
- 16:05Speaker 1: are the least of their consents. Oh, it is a
- 16:07Speaker 1: nice constuming choice. Agree. Alyssa says, I know people don't
- 16:10Speaker 1: want to hear criticism of Elliott, but this episode brought
- 16:13Speaker 1: back many of the frustrations I've had with him this season.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Elliott continues to light a Cat while acting as though
- 16:19Speaker 1: he isn't. He tells her that right before the jump
- 16:21Speaker 1: he realized staying behind would protect her from what was
- 16:24Speaker 1: going to happen to him, but that ignores the fact
- 16:27Speaker 1: that he had already planned a sabbatical before the jump,
- 16:30Speaker 1: meaning his decision wasn't made at the pond. He's still
- 16:33Speaker 1: lying to her. This is the same man who was
- 16:36Speaker 1: supposedly ready to propose to Cat, build a life with her,
- 16:39Speaker 1: and have children with her about five episodes ago. Now
- 16:42Speaker 1: he chooses his mother Overcat every time, despite previously telling
- 16:47Speaker 1: Cat and Alice how Tessa left him and didn't care
- 16:49Speaker 1: about him. Evan Williams is a great actor, and I
- 16:53Speaker 1: loved Elliott in earlier seasons, but the character is being
- 16:55Speaker 1: poorly written this season. Ooh, hot tache going back to oh,
- 17:00Speaker 1: he chooses his mother Overcat every time. I think I
- 17:04Speaker 1: can kind of understand why Elliott would continue to hope
- 17:09Speaker 1: that his mother would come through for him. I think
- 17:13Speaker 1: that's a very natural reaction. I think children who have
- 17:16Speaker 1: been through trauma with their parents still want their parents
- 17:20Speaker 1: to parent them. Yeah, for sure. I think children give
- 17:23Speaker 1: their parents a lot of grace because they want that relationship,
- 17:27Speaker 1: And so I think Elliott is holding out hope that
- 17:30Speaker 1: there's a happy ending here for him. Got it? And
- 17:33Speaker 1: I can kind of understand that. Do you think his
- 17:36Speaker 1: character is being poorly written this season? I think he's
- 17:39Speaker 1: different than the person we've seen in previous seasons. You know,
- 17:43Speaker 1: we haven't loved Elliott this entire season. That's true. We
- 17:46Speaker 1: are now seeing an Elliott who acts for himself as
- 17:48Speaker 1: rather than acting in support of someone else. It's hard
- 17:51Speaker 1: to decide if I think that's being poorly written or
- 17:54Speaker 1: if he has just the entire story of this show
- 17:58Speaker 1: has shifted and the focus is not so much on
- 18:01Speaker 1: the Landries anymore, at least not on our core Landries.
- 18:05Speaker 1: So Elliott did have to shift the way he behaves
- 18:08Speaker 1: because Tessa is so central to this season four storyline. Yeah,
- 18:12Speaker 1: I feel like it's kind of disappointing because the show
- 18:15Speaker 1: was started about the Landryes, and it is kind of
- 18:18Speaker 1: one of my criticisms this season is that it's like
- 18:20Speaker 1: a super departure from that. Yeah. I don't care about
- 18:25Speaker 1: the mafia stuff. Me neither. I think I texted you
- 18:28Speaker 1: yesterday and I was like this al capone storylines every
- 18:31Speaker 1: time they say Capone, I know, I theck me too,
- 18:35Speaker 1: hate it. Okay, Michelle says, my question that one of
- 18:39Speaker 1: you was sort of leaning towards during one of your
- 18:41Speaker 1: most recent episodes is is it Elliott? Question Mark? Does
- 18:45Speaker 1: Elliott get caught in prison in the nineteen twenties. I
- 18:48Speaker 1: would really hate that for everyone. Yeah, I think I
- 18:52Speaker 1: was saying that I am concerned for Elliott's fate. In
- 18:56Speaker 1: the last episode. They certainly were dropping a lot of
- 18:59Speaker 1: hint we see him get arrested. We hear saying Landry
- 19:04Speaker 1: women are unlucky in love. I think they're certainly trying
- 19:08Speaker 1: to lead us to believe that Elliott is in danger.
- 19:11Speaker 1: You and danger boy. I would be shocked if that's
- 19:15Speaker 1: the way this goes. I agree as well. I agree
- 19:19Speaker 1: with you. That would be like a Shonda Rhime's level
- 19:23Speaker 1: betrayal that I'm not sure that this show has in them,
- 19:26Speaker 1: and I hope they don't because after everything this family
- 19:30Speaker 1: has been through, you know, Elliot's important to all of them.
- 19:34Speaker 1: I think that would be devastating. But I was very
- 19:38Speaker 1: worried about Elliott watching episode eight. Yeah, Lindsay says, my
- 19:42Speaker 1: mom and I loved when Elliot say time after time.
- 19:45Speaker 1: Did you know that Evan Williams was actually playing the
- 19:47Speaker 1: piano in that scene? Some of the lyrics seem quite
- 19:50Speaker 1: ironic and very fitting. Quote suitcase of Memories like Tessa's
- 19:55Speaker 1: suitcase that Alice found. It also says, watching through windows
- 19:59Speaker 1: like the time travel often do. Also, I hear the
- 20:02Speaker 1: clock tick and think of you can obviously relate to
- 20:05Speaker 1: the clock that Elliott found in the wall. Was Cindy
- 20:08Speaker 1: Lauper time Traveler. Just kidding, I, you know, shout out
- 20:12Speaker 1: to whom? Ever, I don't. I'm curious if it's the
- 20:16Speaker 1: writer who's like inspired by music, because obviously this whole
- 20:21Speaker 1: series from episode one, season one has been like sprinkled
- 20:25Speaker 1: with all music, right, or references to music and the
- 20:29Speaker 1: titles and the and woven through. And I would love
- 20:34Speaker 1: to know, like, I would just love to know what
- 20:36Speaker 1: that looks like. Does the writer hear that song, that
- 20:39Speaker 1: Cindy Lapper song and go oh, I can use this
- 20:42Speaker 1: into my script, you know, that's all. I don't have
- 20:46Speaker 1: that like Taylor Swift level of lyricism to understand how
- 20:50Speaker 1: those things tie into life. So I am very appreciative
- 20:56Speaker 1: of those who Yeah, me too, Me too. You want
- 21:00Speaker 1: to talk Cliff and Fern, Yeah, I see writes in
- 21:06Speaker 1: Let's start with Cliff and Fern. Oh m gosh. I
- 21:10Speaker 1: love these two together. You can just see the flirtation
- 21:13Speaker 1: in chemistry between them. I thought the song time after
- 21:16Speaker 1: time was so appropriate, and seeing Tessa aka Coop watching
- 21:20Speaker 1: them slash Elliott from afar and we've only seen the
- 21:24Speaker 1: harder side of her In this scene, the writers finally
- 21:27Speaker 1: show a softer side of her coming through, and it
- 21:30Speaker 1: was great to see. Jump to the Inn where Cliff
- 21:32Speaker 1: and Fern profess their love to each other. What if
- 21:36Speaker 1: Cliff is the fifth man and you know, five go
- 21:40Speaker 1: in and four come out? Hear me out. We don't
- 21:44Speaker 1: know how long it's actually been for the two of
- 21:47Speaker 1: them together, So what if Cliff finds the tunnels, goes in,
- 21:51Speaker 1: there's an explosion, and he doesn't make an he doesn't
- 21:54Speaker 1: make it out, leaving Fern pregnant, and that is why
- 21:57Speaker 1: she was never married raise a Colton's father alone and
- 22:01Speaker 1: never marries because Cliff was her only true love. Well,
- 22:07Speaker 1: I mean possible, right, sure, of course. I mean I
- 22:10Speaker 1: know this whole like fine calling poor, it's all coming
- 22:13Speaker 1: into play, yeah, I mean, it's not accidental that we've
- 22:18Speaker 1: heard it so many times. No, And I hate trying
- 22:20Speaker 1: to like guess, like who's going to be, Who's it
- 22:23Speaker 1: going to be? Who's it going to be? And how
- 22:25Speaker 1: is you know, part of me just wants to like
- 22:28Speaker 1: get all the details now, like, let's hurt, let's wrap
- 22:31Speaker 1: it up. Listen, I know I've lost patience. I want
- 22:34Speaker 1: to know I give me all the answers. And you know,
- 22:36Speaker 1: I know you listeners know we get screeners of these
- 22:39Speaker 1: and we have been holding off. We watch in real time. Yes,
- 22:43Speaker 1: we maybe watch like a day or two before the
- 22:45Speaker 1: show actually drops on. We watch ahead of airing, but
- 22:49Speaker 1: we do not when we're recording an episode. We have
- 22:53Speaker 1: not seen the episode after it correct. I know. Even
- 22:56Speaker 1: Megan said to me, She's like, aren't you dying to
- 22:57Speaker 1: skip to the finale? I'm like, not really, we haven't
- 23:01Speaker 1: not yet, but we haven't recorded our episode nine thoughts yet,
- 23:04Speaker 1: so we need to wait. Yep, We're really being faithful
- 23:08Speaker 1: to the story here, folks. Aaron is making some predictions
- 23:12Speaker 1: about Cliff and Fern. She says Cliff and Fern have
- 23:14Speaker 1: an affair and or get married, and Fern finds out
- 23:17Speaker 1: she's pregnant. Somehow, Cliff gets caught up in the Lingermore
- 23:20Speaker 1: Tunnel drama and dies. His death is Tessa's fault, which
- 23:23Speaker 1: is why Fern is so angry when she sees young
- 23:26Speaker 1: Tessa in the seventies, Tessa is the reason Fern was
- 23:30Speaker 1: alone all of her life and why her child didn't
- 23:32Speaker 1: have a father. For some reason, Fern needs to keep
- 23:35Speaker 1: quiet the death of Cliff, maybe to protect Elliott and Cat,
- 23:38Speaker 1: and she gives a made up, tragic story for what
- 23:41Speaker 1: happened to her unknown child's father. Fern does wear a
- 23:45Speaker 1: wedding band in the seventies, so I'm going to guess
- 23:47Speaker 1: that she did marry Cliff, but it was a short
- 23:50Speaker 1: marriage with a tragic end. Wow. I mean, I don't
- 23:55Speaker 1: know how they're gonna do that in two episodes. I
- 23:57Speaker 1: just hope this like finale is like rapid fire, just like,
- 24:00Speaker 1: here's the answer to this, move on, Nick comes back,
- 24:02Speaker 1: move on, Oh my gosh, exactly, it's going to be
- 24:06Speaker 1: like two hours of cat going. It's an hour and
- 24:09Speaker 1: a half, and then it's an hour and a half. Yeah.
- 24:12Speaker 1: So here's a fun little easter egg. When we recorded
- 24:17Speaker 1: whatever episode it was where we talked about the length
- 24:20Speaker 1: of the finale, I had read the night before that
- 24:22Speaker 1: it had been confirmed that the finale was two hours.
- 24:25Speaker 1: Then before we published it, I read a new posting
- 24:28Speaker 1: that said wrong, it's an hour and a half. So
- 24:31Speaker 1: I went back in and eighty yard too an hour
- 24:36Speaker 1: and a half, and if you're Pancl's attention, you can
- 24:38Speaker 1: absolutely tell did so. Yes, it's an hour and a
- 24:41Speaker 1: half on television, so whatever that works out to sixty
- 24:48Speaker 1: seventy minutes of actual It's weird. Why wouldn't they just
- 24:51Speaker 1: give them two hours? What's home? Are going to do
- 24:53Speaker 1: with that last half hour? It goes from nine to
- 24:57Speaker 1: ten thirty five? Oh, isn't that weird? But whatever? The
- 25:00Speaker 1: next the movie is that airs after that starts at
- 25:03Speaker 1: ten thirty five Old and Girls. Yeah, yeah, I don't know.
- 25:07Speaker 1: But then I'm like, now you're off by five minutes,
- 25:09Speaker 1: but they have to make up for it somehow. I
- 25:11Speaker 1: don't know how it works. Yeah. Wow. Interesting. We have
- 25:14Speaker 1: one and last prediction about Cliff and Fern from Terry.
- 25:17Speaker 1: Terry writes, I'm predicting Cliff is the one who died
- 25:20Speaker 1: in the catacombs, and he is Griffin and Colton's grandfather.
- 25:25Speaker 1: That's why Old Fern is so distraught, to say Young
- 25:28Speaker 1: Tessa she has something to do with why Cliff dies.
- 25:32Speaker 1: And then Tessa goes back to the present with Katon Elliott. Now,
- 25:35Speaker 1: mind you, I've not predicted a thing right about this show.
- 25:38Speaker 1: That's why I love it. It's so funny to hear
- 25:41Speaker 1: like Terry, this is the name of that writer in
- 25:44Speaker 1: her and then Aaron kind of have the same predictions.
- 25:49Speaker 1: I know. I wonder if they're like in the Way
- 25:51Speaker 1: Home Facebook group or something, and then those predictions are
- 25:54Speaker 1: being shared there and then it trickles down to us,
- 25:58Speaker 1: you know. Yeah, let's talk about Alice. Aaron says, I
- 26:02Speaker 1: really do hope that Alice gets her five more minutes
- 26:04Speaker 1: with Evie at the end of her life. How shocking
- 26:07Speaker 1: would that be for Evie on her deathbed to have Alice,
- 26:09Speaker 1: who literally has an age today, walk into her room,
- 26:13Speaker 1: perhaps even with Max at her side, who would also
- 26:15Speaker 1: get his five more minutes. This would explain why Evie
- 26:19Speaker 1: left all of the Lingermore archives, etc. To the newspaper,
- 26:22Speaker 1: the newspaper that she knew was being run by Kat.
- 26:25Speaker 1: Kat makes a comment in episode one of season two
- 26:27Speaker 1: that she has no idea why Evelyn left all of
- 26:30Speaker 1: that to her. Perhaps Alice tells Evie to leave it
- 26:33Speaker 1: to the paper because it will help them solve the
- 26:35Speaker 1: town's mysteries, especially bringing Jacob home. I just have a
- 26:40Speaker 1: thought while you were reading that, remember in season one,
- 26:44Speaker 1: when I think it was after Evelyn had passed, and
- 26:47Speaker 1: I don't know who was there, but Dell. I think
- 26:50Speaker 1: it was Dell sees like Evelyn had binoculars by the window.
- 26:56Speaker 1: What if eve had been like Evie as Evelyn, an
- 26:59Speaker 1: old Evelyn, like watching the Landrew Farm, watching Alice come
- 27:04Speaker 1: and go from the ponds. He's Alice and she knows
- 27:08Speaker 1: maybe maybe, I don't know. I think a lot of
- 27:12Speaker 1: us really are hoping for this Alice and Evy reunifications
- 27:19Speaker 1: as adult Evelyn.
- 27:20Speaker 2: I am.
- 27:21Speaker 1: I don't know why exactly though, other than we just
- 27:24Speaker 1: feel like their relationship is special. I do think their
- 27:27Speaker 1: relationship is special. And I think we are led to
- 27:30Speaker 1: believe that Evelyn died alone, right, And so going back
- 27:35Speaker 1: and learning the truth about Evelyn's younger life and seeing
- 27:39Speaker 1: her developed this relationship with Alice, I think it would
- 27:42Speaker 1: be poetic for Alice to have her chance to say goodbye. Yeah,
- 27:46Speaker 1: especially because Alice pops in and out of our life.
- 27:48Speaker 1: So yeah, And there's the prediction earlier in this Mailbag
- 27:51Speaker 1: episode where someone says, you know, they predict that Alice
- 27:54Speaker 1: does tell Evelyn the truth, which I think would be
- 27:57Speaker 1: nice for Evelyn to know, because it would explain why
- 28:01Speaker 1: her friend Alice wasn't around all the time. Tina writes
- 28:05Speaker 1: in I agree with the others, Max and Alice is
- 28:08Speaker 1: who jumps, and Alice is the one who wrote the
- 28:12Speaker 1: letter and the baby carrier. Elliott is who put the clock. Oh,
- 28:16Speaker 1: Elliet is the one who put the clock in the wall. Yes,
- 28:18Speaker 1: if you remember from last episode, Elliott asks Tessa about
- 28:23Speaker 1: the clock. Tessa has no idea what he's talking about,
- 28:26Speaker 1: in orders she know about the letter that was sent
- 28:28Speaker 1: back with her ring right, So to we assume Elliott
- 28:32Speaker 1: is the one who put the clock in the wall,
- 28:34Speaker 1: and why I don't know, Josh says, the frustrating part
- 28:38Speaker 1: of the new song scene is that we don't get
- 28:41Speaker 1: to hear the new song. It's always great to hear
- 28:43Speaker 1: Sadie's voice. I agree. I hope we get that song
- 28:45Speaker 1: before the show is over, and I hope it's on
- 28:48Speaker 1: the soundtrack as well. Me too. You know what I
- 28:50Speaker 1: got to say. You know what makes me real excited
- 28:53Speaker 1: is to see new names of writer inners. Josh Glenn, Well,
- 28:57Speaker 1: these are YouTube commenters. Oh that's amazing, so funny that
- 29:02Speaker 1: because I thought you were going to say that exact
- 29:04Speaker 1: same thing. Are you a time traveler? I really when
- 29:07Speaker 1: I was putting these in here, I was like, oh,
- 29:08Speaker 1: when he's going to be like, who are all these
- 29:10Speaker 1: new people? Yeah? Glenn wrote in on YouTube apparently. Yeah.
- 29:15Speaker 1: As far as Tessa saying she did not leave Elliott behind,
- 29:18Speaker 1: we saw Tessa say Alice after Kat left. What if
- 29:23Speaker 1: Tessa leaves baby Elliott with Alice when she jumps and
- 29:27Speaker 1: Alice places baby Elliot by the pond, knowing her earlier version,
- 29:31Speaker 1: older Elliott and Kat will arrive shortly. This is a
- 29:35Speaker 1: reply from Virginia directly to Glenn. Oh too, they're just
- 29:38Speaker 1: having their own conversations. Yeah, I love it. That's the
- 29:43Speaker 1: second time we've done that today. It's better when we
- 29:46Speaker 1: record in the same room. I know, I know. Check
- 29:48Speaker 1: out our Instagram if you want to see us recording
- 29:50Speaker 1: from the new office. Y'all brings me so much too it.
- 29:53Speaker 1: Do you have a name for your office? Megan and
- 29:55Speaker 1: Wendy media HQ GGHHQ. Should I get a sign? Should
- 29:58Speaker 1: I need a point to sign? Yes? Yes you should?
- 30:02Speaker 1: Yes you should the door, Yes you should? I need
- 30:05Speaker 1: a needle point? Do I need a needle point? Canvas?
- 30:06Speaker 1: Designer to design me a GGHHQ sign. You know, several
- 30:11Speaker 1: years ago my family got me this really cute like
- 30:16Speaker 1: light up box that says on air that you like
- 30:19Speaker 1: plug in? Do you want it? Is it too cheesy?
- 30:21Speaker 1: It's like in the closet at my house because what
- 30:23Speaker 1: am I gonna do with that? I don't have an
- 30:24Speaker 1: office space to put it in? And you know what
- 30:26Speaker 1: I mean, yeah cute. It could be up there or
- 30:29Speaker 1: just up there. Yeah if you if you can say no, no, okay,
- 30:33Speaker 1: I'll dig it out. I don't know where it's at.
- 30:35Speaker 1: I call it Barbie's dream house. Like this is all
- 30:38Speaker 1: my stuff well on Needle Point Studio and my little
- 30:41Speaker 1: cross supplies down here. I need to restyle my bookshow. Well,
- 30:44Speaker 1: I think you need to make a TikTok of like
- 30:46Speaker 1: take a tour with me of g g HHQ. Wow
- 30:50Speaker 1: that's a mouthful when it's done. Yeah, I love it.
- 30:52Speaker 1: I kind of want to make a TikTok and be like,
- 30:54Speaker 1: tell me what to do with these like spaces. Yeah, yeah,
- 30:57Speaker 1: you do have lots of like empty space. Right here.
- 30:59Speaker 1: They're going to put a big mirror right there. I
- 31:01Speaker 1: love that mirror, right, I love that this is this
- 31:05Speaker 1: is the big space that needs it should be like
- 31:08Speaker 1: pictures with like us and like Tyler Hines and us.
- 31:12Speaker 1: You should put a frame picture the blurry, frank ficture Tyler.
- 31:19Speaker 1: I think it's such a great story behind that. Maybe
- 31:21Speaker 1: they should go those should go here. That would be
- 31:24Speaker 1: so funny. I should do a GGH gallery. You don't
- 31:28Speaker 1: have to. No, that's a good idea. Can you take
- 31:31Speaker 1: a tax deductible on this space because it's you know,
- 31:34Speaker 1: your home office? Yeah, but I think it has to
- 31:37Speaker 1: be used like at A I don't know. Can I
- 31:40Speaker 1: write off a portion of the square footage? Yeah? Maybe
- 31:43Speaker 1: maybe you can.
- 31:43Speaker 2: So.
- 31:44Speaker 1: Back to Virginia's follow up response to Glenn, yes, she
- 31:47Speaker 1: says when Tessa said Alice like that, I bet it
- 31:50Speaker 1: made her think back to the different times she talked
- 31:51Speaker 1: to her. This was the response that I was like, Oh, yes,
- 31:56Speaker 1: I believe maybe after this Tessa jumps back to cut
- 31:58Speaker 1: them out of the film. Either that or Jasper or
- 32:01Speaker 1: Griffin cut them out of the film. Someone is definitely
- 32:04Speaker 1: doing stuff. Tessa didn't know about the clock or the letter.
- 32:07Speaker 1: Elliott mentioned any thoughts on that. No, but other people
- 32:10Speaker 1: have a big, old, giant shrug emoji these days. No,
- 32:15Speaker 1: I have no thoughts on that, but I do believe
- 32:17Speaker 1: Elliott was involved in some way. Ellie, It's like, well,
- 32:20Speaker 1: some puts the clock on the wall, Better go do that?
- 32:23Speaker 1: What did the plate say on the clock? I just
- 32:26Speaker 1: made a face to Wendy like a y FKM. I'm
- 32:33Speaker 1: sure there's a listener who knows. Please email us, Hello girls,
- 32:36Speaker 1: Gone Hallmarket dot com. You may hear your email At
- 32:39Speaker 1: the top of the episode next week, when Megan says,
- 32:42Speaker 1: this is what the plate said, okay, Alyssa writes in
- 32:46Speaker 1: Tessa saying Alice's name after Kat says that she'd never
- 32:49Speaker 1: leave her daughter, Alice seems more like a hint for
- 32:53Speaker 1: future interactions between Tessa and Alice. I doubt that Tessa
- 32:57Speaker 1: remembers Alice from like two to three in her own
- 33:00Speaker 1: actions over a course of four years. In fact, in
- 33:03Speaker 1: one of them, she said she didn't remember Alice from
- 33:05Speaker 1: the previous one. I feel like Tessa spent more time
- 33:07Speaker 1: with Alice before jumping. Maybe something we will see in
- 33:10Speaker 1: the next episode. Maybe Alice even has something to do
- 33:14Speaker 1: with Tessa going to the past. Yeah, I think that's
- 33:18Speaker 1: a good point that maybe we're not looking at the
- 33:20Speaker 1: couple of times that she met Alice at the point,
- 33:23Speaker 1: and maybe we're looking to some sort of future significant
- 33:26Speaker 1: relationship between Tessa and Alice. Alisa says, I know it
- 33:30Speaker 1: was only a brief scene, but Alice sent a song
- 33:32Speaker 1: called Already Home to Max on her phone. She said
- 33:35Speaker 1: she thought he'd want to be the first to hear.
- 33:37Speaker 1: I think it's telling that she's sharing her first song
- 33:39Speaker 1: with Max and not Noah. Also, if it's her love
- 33:42Speaker 1: song like Colton told her to write, this seems more
- 33:45Speaker 1: meaningful that she sent it to Max first. I do
- 33:49Speaker 1: like her with Max more than Noah. Yeah, the Frider
- 33:53Speaker 1: King is not her future. No I love that week.
- 33:56Speaker 1: I'm now adopted, and Max is the name for Noah
- 34:00Speaker 1: has our own. That's what we call him now. Yeah,
- 34:04Speaker 1: when did Noah loosis shine for us? You know, I'm
- 34:08Speaker 1: not sure that I was ever like crazy about Noah.
- 34:11Speaker 1: The second she kissed Max, I was like, yeah, get
- 34:14Speaker 1: to step in Noah, get to those fish sticks. Noah
- 34:19Speaker 1: is that what he makes? Fish sticks? Fritters, fritter I
- 34:23Speaker 1: don't know, something like that, fish and chips. Maybe moving
- 34:27Speaker 1: on to Dell and Colton, Aaron says, There have been
- 34:31Speaker 1: a couple comments this season that make me wonder if
- 34:34Speaker 1: Dell will get an extra five minutes with Cole. It
- 34:37Speaker 1: would likely have to be on the day of his death,
- 34:40Speaker 1: but she expressed that desire once and then Sam encouraged
- 34:43Speaker 1: her to tell Cole. At the end of last episode.
- 34:48Speaker 1: I thought, don't got her extra five minutes with him? No,
- 34:52Speaker 1: she got to go see her wedding. They never had
- 34:54Speaker 1: like a closure moment. They never had like a only
- 34:58Speaker 1: with his ghost. Oh that's right, But she never was
- 35:01Speaker 1: like there was never like a I knew you weren't cheating.
- 35:05Speaker 1: I don't think you were going to therapy instead. I
- 35:08Speaker 1: knew you weren't like I mean, that's like what was happening.
- 35:10Speaker 1: I know that woman at your funeral was our adult daughter.
- 35:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 35:14Speaker 1: Yeah. Aaron also writes in about Sam, I think the
- 35:17Speaker 1: whole Sam's storyline was a red herring and basically a
- 35:20Speaker 1: giant nothing burger. Oh that's just like right to Wendy's gut. Guys,
- 35:26Speaker 1: he was on the freaking advertisemle that's coming up. His
- 35:31Speaker 1: sole purpose is that he's the Elliott slash pond Master
- 35:34Speaker 1: to k C. Plus he's a palatable off ramp for
- 35:38Speaker 1: Dell's love life after Cole. I mean sometimes I do
- 35:43Speaker 1: wonder like if these characters are just characters. There's no
- 35:47Speaker 1: specific tie ins, right, So I'm gonna jump ahead to
- 35:51Speaker 1: a comment from Kaitlin. I don't know if you saw this.
- 35:54Speaker 1: I saw the thing she is referencing. Caitlyn says just
- 35:57Speaker 1: wanted to say that Ali Mary Ellie post on Instagram
- 36:01Speaker 1: that the image of Calvert the coin man at the
- 36:03Speaker 1: circus was based on a producer who was in charge
- 36:05Speaker 1: of keeping them on budget. That's the disappearing coins that
- 36:09Speaker 1: makes me think maybe it's not Sam. I wish I
- 36:12Speaker 1: had taken a screen capture for you, but it has
- 36:14Speaker 1: disappeared now. Either way, Sam is very interested in coins,
- 36:17Speaker 1: so it was a great idea for a lead. So
- 36:19Speaker 1: I want to comment on this. I did see Ali
- 36:21Speaker 1: post that and several people message us and they're like, oh,
- 36:24Speaker 1: I guess it has nothing to do with Sam. My
- 36:26Speaker 1: thought is on those does why can't it be both?
- 36:29Speaker 1: Why can't this be an homage to the producer but
- 36:34Speaker 1: also the dude looks like Sam. Why can't it be both?
- 36:37Speaker 1: I still think it's a great poll. Wendy, thank you,
- 36:41Speaker 1: patting myself on the back right now. Look, you guys
- 36:44Speaker 1: are going to be writing your emails in when in
- 36:48Speaker 1: episode ten there's some big revelation that about Sam or
- 36:53Speaker 1: the finale ends with like Sam standing outside the Landry
- 36:57Speaker 1: farmhouse flipping a coin in his hands, thank God, amazing,
- 37:02Speaker 1: pulling the point coin from his pocket from behind baby
- 37:05Speaker 1: Casey's ear, little tether Casey. He's like, ooh, that is
- 37:14Speaker 1: look what was in your ear? It's an old timey coin,
- 37:18Speaker 1: funny with a giant wink to the camera and then
- 37:21Speaker 1: it like circle closest to black of the Like, my,
- 37:32Speaker 1: this is the hell I'm gonna die on? Is Sam
- 37:34Speaker 1: in the fricking coins? Megan's gonna die on the horse,
- 37:37Speaker 1: and not die on the horse, but Wendy. That's Wendy's
- 37:41Speaker 1: biggest fear. I was watching something so random yesterday and
- 37:48Speaker 1: it was something about a horse, and I was like,
- 37:49Speaker 1: the horse. That's all I could think about. It wasn't
- 37:52Speaker 1: even horse. Hannah writes. I loved this episode like usual,
- 37:59Speaker 1: but hated the two seconds of Sam telling Dell he
- 38:03Speaker 1: knows about the pond after him telling Casey last episode
- 38:07Speaker 1: that he was going to tell her, and clips of
- 38:09Speaker 1: it in the trailer for this episode, I was hoping
- 38:12Speaker 1: for more. Yeah, there's another bait and switch moment when
- 38:15Speaker 1: we got there. Yeah, all right, you want to talk
- 38:17Speaker 1: clown makeup? Alissa is full beat? Are you ready? Yes?
- 38:23Speaker 1: After you mentioned Sam and the coins and the posters
- 38:25Speaker 1: at the end of the episode, I all of a
- 38:26Speaker 1: sudden wondered, is everyone going to end up in nineteen
- 38:29Speaker 1: twenty five? Could Sam and Dell try to travel with
- 38:32Speaker 1: Casey or Jacob or Kat or Alice back to earlier
- 38:34Speaker 1: on Colton's timeline to tell him how good their kids are,
- 38:37Speaker 1: but end up in nineteen twenty five. They could go
- 38:40Speaker 1: with Casey, since as far as we know, they are
- 38:42Speaker 1: Sam's only connection to time travel. Maybe Jacob tells Abby
- 38:45Speaker 1: about his past and to prove it they jump in together.
- 38:48Speaker 1: Then Kat and Elliott need to go back, and Alice
- 38:50Speaker 1: probably wants to go back to Evelyn, but maybe she
- 38:53Speaker 1: ends up in nineteen twenty five. I think it would
- 38:55Speaker 1: be fun for everyone to end up in nineteen twenty
- 38:57Speaker 1: five without it being the plan, but them all having
- 38:59Speaker 1: a to play. I mean, if we wanted to get
- 39:02Speaker 1: really clown makeup, Griffin could appear in nineteen twenty five.
- 39:05Speaker 1: Or maybe Salmondale do get to see Colton and then
- 39:07Speaker 1: the three of them go to nineteen twenty five. I
- 39:10Speaker 1: feel like it would be nice to have the whole
- 39:12Speaker 1: families converge, and nineteen twenty five could be a good
- 39:16Speaker 1: time to do that and provide a reason why they
- 39:18Speaker 1: think someone could be coming back in the future. First
- 39:22Speaker 1: of all, drink every time you say nineteen twenty five.
- 39:25Speaker 1: Rudy hammered. Right now, I don't want everybody to go
- 39:29Speaker 1: back to nineteen twenty either. I'm tired of nineteen twenty five.
- 39:33Speaker 1: Me too. Yeah, I'd like Fern, but that's it. I mean,
- 39:38Speaker 1: I'm team eighteen fourteen or whatever it was. I know
- 39:42Speaker 1: people did not like that either, well I did. It's
- 39:44Speaker 1: like nineties, seventies, eighteen hundreds way down at the bottom
- 39:49Speaker 1: of nineteen twenty five. Ooh, spicy take. Let's talk about
- 39:54Speaker 1: Jacob and Abbey. Aaron says, I no longer really care
- 39:58Speaker 1: about the Jacob slash a slash Casey mystery. I think
- 40:03Speaker 1: if we were getting a season five, it'd be more interesting.
- 40:06Speaker 1: But I think because it has to be so rush,
- 40:08Speaker 1: there's going to be a little relationship development that we
- 40:11Speaker 1: see on screen Francisco says, the question about Toronto is
- 40:16Speaker 1: when you'd think Abby and Jacob would have had they
- 40:18Speaker 1: pretty much called Dell a local yogil and Port Haven
- 40:21Speaker 1: a backwater though. I mean they kind of did. Yeah,
- 40:26Speaker 1: it kind of did. But I again, I think she
- 40:29Speaker 1: just stepped into it. Yes, was nervous. I do think
- 40:34Speaker 1: I might be more invested. I like Jacob and Abby.
- 40:36Speaker 1: I know you hate this storyline. I'm more invested in
- 40:39Speaker 1: the Casey storyline. If Casey is the child of Jacob
- 40:42Speaker 1: and Abby, I would love to see that play out
- 40:44Speaker 1: in I season five. Yeah, yeah, yeah, But I think
- 40:48Speaker 1: at this point it's just what I've maybe told from
- 40:51Speaker 1: the future from Casey's point that would be cool travels. Yeah,
- 40:55Speaker 1: I'm interested in that too, and then we still get
- 40:58Speaker 1: like bits of like Alice and everybody else through their eyes. Yeah,
- 41:02Speaker 1: that's what it could have been cool about this show
- 41:03Speaker 1: is have it like evolve like that we we moved
- 41:07Speaker 1: through different character's point of view, which is kind of
- 41:10Speaker 1: what's happened with Elliott. But I do think we maybe
- 41:13Speaker 1: need a time jump. Mmmm. Yeah, that's a good idea,
- 41:17Speaker 1: like a five years in the future situation in the future. Yeah, yeah,
- 41:25Speaker 1: but that's not happening unless you know, Come on Netflix,
- 41:29Speaker 1: Netflix comes through, Bring it on Home, show me the
- 41:32Speaker 1: way home, money mean that movie? No idea? This top gun? Oh,
- 41:39Speaker 1: Anthony Edwards to Meran, Nope, only seen it like once
- 41:42Speaker 1: or twice?
- 41:44Speaker 2: What?
- 41:45Speaker 1: Yeah? We got a would you rather question? From Aaron?
- 41:49Speaker 1: Is this for us? Is this a question for us
- 41:51Speaker 1: to answer?
- 41:52Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 41:53Speaker 1: And listeners? Sure? You guys want to answer Aaron's question?
- 41:57Speaker 1: Email us Hello at Girls Gone Hallmark dot com. Earn proposes,
- 42:02Speaker 1: would you rather have a more streamlined season four that
- 42:06Speaker 1: was in the original plan for the five season series,
- 42:10Speaker 1: leaving the opening up for another network to pick it
- 42:13Speaker 1: up and finish it well, granted some of season four
- 42:17Speaker 1: arching storylines wouldn't be resolved? Or would you rather have
- 42:22Speaker 1: this jumbled up, messy combo of season four and five
- 42:25Speaker 1: storylines rushed into ten episodes Before I share Aaron's answer,
- 42:32Speaker 1: what's your answer, Megan? I think I'm supposed to say
- 42:35Speaker 1: I would rather have a well done season four, hoping
- 42:38Speaker 1: we get season five. But I feel like that would
- 42:42Speaker 1: leave so many big questions unanswered. And I loved a
- 42:48Speaker 1: show once called Jack and Jill, and it was one
- 42:53Speaker 1: season and then it was canceled, and at the end
- 42:55Speaker 1: of the season, you don't know what's going to happen
- 42:58Speaker 1: with them, and you still think about it twenty five
- 42:59Speaker 1: years later, I do. Did you watch that show? I
- 43:03Speaker 1: remember bits and pieces of it. Perhaps it's terrible. I've
- 43:06Speaker 1: never gone to look for it since, but it has
- 43:09Speaker 1: stuck with me, and so I can understand the argument
- 43:12Speaker 1: for trying to provide some resolution, and I appreciate the
- 43:15Speaker 1: attempt to provide some resolution. I think the creators of
- 43:19Speaker 1: the show were between a rock and a hard place, totally.
- 43:22Speaker 1: Hallmark put them in that rock and a hard place. Absolutely.
- 43:25Speaker 1: What would you prefer? I guess, to put it in
- 43:28Speaker 1: Aaron's words, I guess I prefer this jumbled at messy
- 43:32Speaker 1: combo of season four and five. I don't love it,
- 43:36Speaker 1: but I would be more upset if we left with
- 43:42Speaker 1: a streamlined season four and all these questions unanswered. Yeah.
- 43:48Speaker 1: Aaron's point of view is, she writes, personally, I would
- 43:52Speaker 1: choose to have it more spread out, leaving the hope
- 43:55Speaker 1: for a season five somewhere else other than Hallmark. But
- 43:58Speaker 1: maybe their plan is to make so frustrated with this
- 44:01Speaker 1: mess of a season that we're glad it's over. The
- 44:04Speaker 1: whole season continues to be a giant junk drawer, but
- 44:08Speaker 1: come on, at some point, we need to put some
- 44:10Speaker 1: of these stories lines to use. Aaron goes on to say,
- 44:13Speaker 1: I'm salty. I love this show. I loved the nineties
- 44:16Speaker 1: nostalgia of the first season, especially the first few episodes
- 44:20Speaker 1: where only Alice knew she could travel. However, now the
- 44:24Speaker 1: show is almost unrecognizable. Time travel is widely known. Everyone's
- 44:29Speaker 1: doing it, and it's no longer mysterious, just a big
- 44:31Speaker 1: math problem. Instead, I wish this show could have kept
- 44:34Speaker 1: some of that same spark and mystery that the first
- 44:37Speaker 1: season had the best season in my opinion. We have
- 44:41Speaker 1: a voicemail fabulous.
- 44:48Speaker 2: I've never heard anybody say this, but it meant the
- 44:50Speaker 2: Active to find Abbie, the Active to fight, and it
- 44:54Speaker 2: looks very similar to me, and I've bought it for
- 44:56Speaker 2: a few weeks of but I've never heard anybody say it.
- 45:00Speaker 2: I wondering I've heard anything like that.
- 45:02Speaker 1: Oh, I love to be sure, I think so much.
- 45:03Speaker 2: Fine.
- 45:04Speaker 1: They are not the same actors. Fern is played by
- 45:06Speaker 1: an actor named Bianca Melchior, and Abby is played by
- 45:09Speaker 1: Holly Devo they're different, I would be super weird. If
- 45:14Speaker 1: they were the same, it would be super weird. And
- 45:16Speaker 1: this is also why I love our news and Notes segments. Guys,
- 45:20Speaker 1: that's right, plug for news and notes, Justice for Baby.
- 45:27Speaker 1: We have one final comment to wrap this episode. This
- 45:29Speaker 1: was really a supersized episode because there probably won't be
- 45:34Speaker 1: one next year, just next week next year. To tide
- 45:38Speaker 1: you over. This is a comment about the edited film reel.
- 45:41Speaker 1: Chris says. Monica mentioned she got the reel from Jude,
- 45:45Speaker 1: who was Nick's mom, So maybe Nick is the one
- 45:48Speaker 1: who erased Kat and Alice from the reel. Growing up
- 45:52Speaker 1: with the owners of the rock Sy, Nick would have
- 45:54Speaker 1: special knowledge of how to erase the footage. That's fair.
- 45:58Speaker 1: That's fair. I don't think it's that like snip snip, scotch,
- 46:02Speaker 1: tape them together, move on. Done is better than perfect.
- 46:07Speaker 1: I just have a quick note. Like you said, there
- 46:10Speaker 1: won't be a mailbag episode next week, but that doesn't
- 46:12Speaker 1: mean not to send your emails and send your emails
- 46:15Speaker 1: into if you have thoughts on episode nine, send your
- 46:18Speaker 1: emails in. We'll just have like a super supersized yes,
- 46:22Speaker 1: we yes, Please send us your thoughts. We will work
- 46:26Speaker 1: on wrapping up this season appropriately, We're not going to
- 46:29Speaker 1: leave you hanging. There will still be another listener mail
- 46:31Speaker 1: back to come, so send in your thoughts after both
- 46:34Speaker 1: episodes nine and ten. Yeah, and we will give them
- 46:38Speaker 1: their due for sure. For sure. Hey, thanks for listening
- 46:41Speaker 1: to this episode of Girls Gone Homework. Thank you for
