- 0:00SPEAKER_05: Ladies and gentlemen, we ask that you please take your seats at this time as the program will begin momentarily.
- 0:06SPEAKER_05: Thank you.
- 0:14SPEAKER_05: Uplifting the airways, one dimple at a time.
- 0:18SPEAKER_05: It's time for the Dimple Report.
- 0:22SPEAKER_05: News, last, and Dimplified Moments with your host, founder, and Chief Doubles Officer of National Doubles Day, Graceful Grady.
- 0:31SPEAKER_05: Remember, dimples are more than a trait.
- 0:34SPEAKER_05: They're a reason to celebrate.
- 0:38SPEAKER_05: Oh yeah!
- 1:04SPEAKER_06: Now I'm your host, Grace BulGrady, founder and chief dimples officer of National Dimples Day.
- 1:11SPEAKER_06: And Dimples Nation, we are back.
- 1:14SPEAKER_06: Now, if you thought Dimples were just sitting around quietly on somebody's face looking cute this week, oh no.
- 1:21SPEAKER_06: The Dimple Detection Unit, the DDU, has been busy because this week, Dimples showed up in sports, television, entertainment, business, and even a little romance.
- 1:33SPEAKER_06: We've got dimpled NFL players making some noise on the football field.
- 1:37SPEAKER_06: Dimples showed up under the bright lights at one of television's biggest nights.
- 1:42SPEAKER_06: And later, Sydney Sweeney and that cleft chit have given the DDU something very interesting to talk about, involving a commercial, sports predictions, apparently a little engagement news too.
- 1:56SPEAKER_06: And of course, that's just the beginning.
- 1:59SPEAKER_06: Because later, we shine our dimple spotlight on something you probably see all the time.
- 2:05SPEAKER_06: You may have held it, you may have rolled it, you may have blown on it for good luck.
- 2:10SPEAKER_06: But I bet you never stop to think.
- 2:13SPEAKER_06: Wait, wait, wait, wait.
- 2:14SPEAKER_06: Are those dimples?
- 2:16SPEAKER_06: Dimples Nation, we're gonna have some fun with dice.
- 2:20SPEAKER_06: But before we start rolling, let's find out who's been making noise around the wonderful world of dimples.
- 2:26SPEAKER_06: It's time for dimples and the headlines.
- 3:08SPEAKER_06: If you downloaded last week's special edition of the Dimple Report, you heard me unveil my inaugural list of 20 NFL Dimpled dominating draftees to keep your eyes on this season.
- 3:22SPEAKER_06: Well, I hope you were paying attention because some members of the Dimples Nation came out ready to play.
- 3:29SPEAKER_06: Let's check their dimple power rating.
- 3:32SPEAKER_06: Christian McCaffrey representing the cleft chin, aka butt chin, aka chin dimple, helped San Francisco open the season with a win, putting together 88 yards from scrimmage.
- 3:44SPEAKER_06: Not a bad way to get the dimples warmed up.
- 3:47SPEAKER_06: We've got another 49er on our list.
- 3:49SPEAKER_06: Fred Warner representing the Cheek Dimples.
- 3:53SPEAKER_06: Warner and that San Francisco defense helped hold the Rams to just seven points.
- 3:59SPEAKER_06: Apparently, their Dimples weren't just playing offense, they were playing defense too.
- 4:04SPEAKER_06: And then we head over to Baltimore, where Zay Flowers, representing the Cheek Demples, was blooming.
- 4:11SPEAKER_06: See what I did there?
- 4:12SPEAKER_06: Zay had five catches for 150 yards and a touchdown.
- 4:16SPEAKER_06: That's an average of 30 yards per catch.
- 4:19SPEAKER_06: DDU, I believe the flowers are officially in bloom.
- 4:22SPEAKER_06: And his teammate, Lamar Jackson, representing the cleft chin, wasn't exactly sitting around watching.
- 4:28SPEAKER_06: Lamar threw for 324 yards, added another 40 on the ground, and accounted for two touchdowns as Baltimore picked up the win.
- 4:37SPEAKER_06: And then there was Amon Roy St.
- 4:39SPEAKER_06: Brown.
- 4:40SPEAKER_06: Cheek doubles over in Detroit.
- 4:42SPEAKER_06: 10 catches, 67 yards, and two touchdowns.
- 4:46SPEAKER_06: But now, I say one of my favorite NFL stories for last because we have to go to Kansas City.
- 4:53SPEAKER_06: The Chiefs now have something you don't see very often: two teammates, two Super Bowl MVPs, and both are members of the Dimples Nation.
- 5:03SPEAKER_06: We've got Patrick Mahomes representing the Whiskered Dimples, also known as the Indian Dimple, and the newest Kansas City Chief, Kenneth Kanon Walker III, representing both Cheek Dimples and the Clef Chin.
- 5:17SPEAKER_06: Now, Dimples Nation, that combination made the DDU dig into the history books.
- 5:22SPEAKER_06: You have Super Bowl MVPs, Joe Montana and Jerry Bryce, and according to the DDU, both representing the Cleft Chin.
- 5:31SPEAKER_06: Now we've got Mahomes and K9 together in Kansas City.
- 5:35SPEAKER_06: This man came through the door like, hello Kansas City, did somebody order a running back?
- 5:40SPEAKER_06: Kenneth Walker was for 173 yards on 23 carries, including a 60-yard touchdown, added 18 receiving yards, and finished with two touchdowns as Kansas City beat Denver 31 to 10 in Dimples Nation.
- 5:55SPEAKER_06: I've got an update that just came in today.
- 5:57SPEAKER_06: K9's performance earned him AFC Offensive Player of the Week.
- 6:02SPEAKER_06: So congratulations to Kenneth K9 Walker III, Cheek Dimples, Cleft Chan, Super Bowl MVP, and now AFC Offensive Player of the Week.
- 6:13SPEAKER_06: Wow.
- 6:14SPEAKER_06: Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, this NFL Dimple update is presented by Dimple Bets, coming soon.
- 6:23SPEAKER_06: Now, Dimple Station, let's trade the football field for the red carpet.
- 6:28SPEAKER_06: Because Monday night was television's biggest night, the 78th Emmy Awards.
- 6:34SPEAKER_06: And you know everybody else was watching to see who took home the trophies while the DDU was watching for something completely different.
- 6:41SPEAKER_06: Who took home the dimples?
- 6:43SPEAKER_06: And after a thorough investigation with the dimplifying glass, we found a couple of winners.
- 6:48SPEAKER_06: First up, director Hiro Murai representing the cheek dimples.
- 6:53SPEAKER_06: Hero won the Emmy for Outstanding Directing for a comedy series for Widow's Bay.
- 6:58SPEAKER_06: If you recall Dimples Nation, that was one of my recommendations for film and TV, Dimplified.
- 7:04SPEAKER_06: Congratulations, Hero.
- 7:06SPEAKER_06: But then we found Matthew Reese representing the Clef Chin.
- 7:10SPEAKER_06: And Matthew didn't just win one Emmy, he won two.
- 7:13SPEAKER_06: He won lead actor in comedy series for Widow's Bay and Lead Actor in a limited or anthology series or movie for The Beast Enemy.
- 7:22SPEAKER_06: In fact, Matthew Reese made Emmy history by becoming the first performer to win two lead acting Emmys in the same year.
- 7:30SPEAKER_06: Now that's impressive.
- 7:32SPEAKER_06: Congratulations, the DDU sees you.
- 7:37SPEAKER_06: And finally, Dimple's Nation, our final headline brings together Hollywood, sports, business, predictions, and maybe a look to romance.
- 7:47SPEAKER_06: Actress Sydney Sweeney, representing the Clef Gen, is making headlines for a new advertising campaign with sports prediction platform Novig.
- 7:56SPEAKER_06: In Dimple's Nation, this isn't just another celebrity endorsement.
- 8:00SPEAKER_06: Sydney reportedly has an equity stake in the company.
- 8:03SPEAKER_06: And Novig's CEO says she approached the company about the campaign and played a major role in the creative direction.
- 8:10SPEAKER_06: Now, the commercial itself, let's just say it got people's attention.
- 8:15SPEAKER_06: And it also created some controversy.
- 8:18SPEAKER_06: But here's where the Chief Dimples officer, that's me, started paying very close attention.
- 8:23SPEAKER_06: Sydney Sweeney, Clef Chen, sports prediction, equity owner?
- 8:28SPEAKER_06: Hold on, I might need Dimple Bet's business plan.
- 8:31SPEAKER_06: Because Sydney, if you're interested in sports predictions and you have a cleft chin, we may need to talk.
- 8:37SPEAKER_06: And by the way, there's one more piece of Sydney News making the rounds.
- 8:41SPEAKER_06: There are reports today that Sydney and music executive Scooter Braun may be engaged.
- 8:47SPEAKER_06: So, with that said, congratulations to Sydney and Scooter.
- 8:52SPEAKER_06: Dimples Nation, that's a wrap.
- 8:55SPEAKER_06: We will be right back after this commercial break.
- 8:58SPEAKER_02: There's a pattern hiding in plain sight.
- 9:02SPEAKER_02: The last three Super Bowl MVPs all had some form of dimple.
- 9:07SPEAKER_02: The latest Major League Baseball MVPs.
- 9:11SPEAKER_02: Some form of dimple.
- 9:12SPEAKER_02: The latest best actor and best actress Oscar winners.
- 9:16SPEAKER_02: Some form of dimple.
- 9:18SPEAKER_02: The last three masters champions.
- 9:21SPEAKER_02: Some form of dimple.
- 9:22SPEAKER_02: We're not saying dimples create champions.
- 9:25SPEAKER_02: We're saying champions with dimples keep showing up.
- 9:28SPEAKER_02: Now imagine turning that pattern into a prediction.
- 9:32SPEAKER_02: Dimple bets.
- 9:33SPEAKER_02: Where the next question could be, will the next champion have some form of dimples?
- 9:39SPEAKER_02: Place your bets.
- 9:40SPEAKER_02: Dimple bets.
- 9:42SPEAKER_06: Coming soon.
- 9:46SPEAKER_06: Welcome back, Dimples Nation.
- 9:47SPEAKER_06: Don't put away that dimplifying glass just yet.
- 9:50SPEAKER_06: Because it's time for my favorite part of the show, the Dimple Spotlight.
- 9:55SPEAKER_06: Now, usually the Dimple Spotlight shines on a person, like, for an example, a celebrity, an athlete, an inventor, maybe even a historical figure.
- 10:05SPEAKER_06: But every now and then the DDU discovers, or in this case, hear about something that makes us stop and say, wait a minute, how did we miss that?
- 10:14SPEAKER_06: This week, oh man, this one's been sitting right in front of us for thousands of years.
- 10:20SPEAKER_06: In fact, you probably held one in your hand.
- 10:22SPEAKER_06: You're probably shaken a couple of them.
- 10:24SPEAKER_06: You probably yelled, come on, baby, I need a new pair of shoes.
- 10:28SPEAKER_06: And then threw them across the table.
- 10:30SPEAKER_06: They've been in board games, they've been in casinos, they've decided fortunes, won money, lost money, and probably ended a few monopoly friendships along the way.
- 10:40SPEAKER_06: But dimples Nation, I want you to think about something.
- 10:43SPEAKER_06: What are those little round indentations on the sides called?
- 10:47SPEAKER_06: They're called pips.
- 10:49SPEAKER_06: I don't see pips, I see dimples.
- 10:51SPEAKER_06: Think about it.
- 10:52SPEAKER_06: One dimple, two dimples, three dimples, four dimples, five dimples, six dimples.
- 10:58SPEAKER_06: Ladies and gentlemen, we may have just discovered the most consistently dimpled object in human history.
- 11:05SPEAKER_06: Dimples Nation, get ready to shake him, get ready to roll him, because today's dimples spotlight is a little different.
- 11:13SPEAKER_06: Now, usually I'm looking at somebody's face, cheek dimples, a cleft chin, dowlier dimples, whiskered dimples.
- 11:20SPEAKER_06: But today I'm looking at a cube because our dimples spotlight belongs to one of the oldest members of Dimples Nation.
- 11:28SPEAKER_06: Drum roll, please.
- 11:36SPEAKER_06: Ladies and gentlemen, if you haven't guessed yet, today's dimple spotlight is dice.
- 11:42SPEAKER_06: Now, before somebody sends me an email saying, Graceful, those aren't dimples, they're called pips.
- 11:49SPEAKER_06: I know technically they're pips, but come on, they're a little round indentation sitting right there in the surface.
- 11:56SPEAKER_06: DDU, those look like dimples to me.
- 12:00SPEAKER_06: Anyway, add those together and you've got 21 pips.
- 12:06SPEAKER_06: Or as we're calling them today, 21 dimples on one little die.
- 12:13SPEAKER_06: Now, that is showing off.
- 12:15SPEAKER_06: I have three.
- 12:16SPEAKER_06: I don't know anybody with 21 dimples.
- 12:20SPEAKER_06: And if you do, please contact National Dimples Day immediately.
- 12:26SPEAKER_06: Now, about those dimples, those dots are called pips.
- 12:31SPEAKER_06: P-I-P-S.
- 12:33SPEAKER_06: And pips aren't exclusive to dice.
- 12:37SPEAKER_06: The word is also used for markings you see on things like uh dominoes and playing cards.
- 12:42SPEAKER_06: Wait a minute, dominoes have pips too?
- 12:46SPEAKER_06: Hmm.
- 12:46SPEAKER_06: DDU, write that down.
- 12:48SPEAKER_06: Ladies and gentlemen, we may have another feature investigation.
- 12:53SPEAKER_06: Now, on traditional modern six-sided die, did you know that the opposite sides are commonly arranged so that they add up to seven, one, opposite six, two, opposite five, three, opposite four.
- 13:08SPEAKER_06: You get seven, seven, seven.
- 13:11SPEAKER_06: And consider, we just spent part of today's headlines talking about sports predictions.
- 13:16SPEAKER_06: I'm starting to think these dice are trying to get dimple bet's attention.
- 13:19SPEAKER_06: But we're gonna leave the album alone.
- 13:22SPEAKER_06: For now at least.
- 13:23SPEAKER_06: Let's turn our focus on how incredible the journey of dice has been.
- 13:26SPEAKER_06: They've been connected to ancient games, board games, casinos, family game nights, role-playing games, and even countless expressions in our everyday language.
- 13:38SPEAKER_06: Take for an example, we say, roll the dice.
- 13:41SPEAKER_06: Here's another one.
- 13:43SPEAKER_06: Nah, no dice.
- 13:45SPEAKER_06: Dice became more than gaming objects.
- 13:47SPEAKER_06: They became symbols of chance, risk, and uncertainty.
- 13:51SPEAKER_06: And that's what makes today's Dimple Spotlight so much fun for me.
- 13:56SPEAKER_06: Because this tiny object has traveled through thousands of years of human history across civilizations, across cultures, across generations, and somehow nobody at National Dimples Day stopped and said, Mmm, mm-mm, look at those dimples.
- 14:16SPEAKER_06: Until now.
- 14:16SPEAKER_06: So today I'm making it official.
- 14:19SPEAKER_06: You're in.
- 14:20SPEAKER_06: Welcome to the Dimples Nation.
- 14:23SPEAKER_06: So, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, the next time you're playing a board game, the next time somebody tells you to roll the dice, or the next time you see a pair bouncing across the table, take a closer look.
- 14:37SPEAKER_06: Because you aren't just looking at numbers, you're looking at thousands of years of history.
- 14:43SPEAKER_06: 21 little indentations, and quite possibly the oldest dimples we've ever featured on the Dimple Report.
- 14:52SPEAKER_06: Alright, Dimples Nation, it's time for a commercial break.
- 14:56SPEAKER_06: When we come back, you know what time it is.
- 14:59SPEAKER_06: It's trivia time.
- 15:01SPEAKER_00: Hi, cute dimples.
- 15:03SPEAKER_00: Is that your best pickup line?
- 15:05SPEAKER_00: No pickup line.
- 15:06SPEAKER_00: Just complimenting your dimples.
- 15:08SPEAKER_00: Did you know July 9th is National Dimples Day?
- 15:12SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 15:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, they have a fun site and merchandise.
- 15:15SPEAKER_00: Check it out.
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: NationalDimplesday.com.
- 15:18SPEAKER_11: Hmm.
- 15:19SPEAKER_11: NationalDimplesday.com.
- 15:21SPEAKER_11: Got it.
- 15:22SPEAKER_00: May I uh buy you a cup of coffee?
- 15:24SPEAKER_00: I feel something brewing between us.
- 15:27SPEAKER_11: Sure.
- 15:30SPEAKER_06: Welcome back, Dimples Nation.
- 15:32SPEAKER_06: You know the rules.
- 15:33SPEAKER_06: No Google, no asking Siri, and absolutely no calling the Dimple Detection Unit for help.
- 15:41SPEAKER_06: Let's get the show started.
- 15:55SPEAKER_06: Question number one.
- 15:56SPEAKER_06: A standard six-sided die has a total of how many pips, or as we call them today, gaming dimples, across all six sides.
- 16:07SPEAKER_06: A eighteen B Twenty-one C Twenty-four.
- 16:20SPEAKER_06: The correct answer is, and the answer is B twenty-one.
- 16:27SPEAKER_06: That's right.
- 16:28SPEAKER_06: One plus two plus three plus four plus five plus six equals twenty-one gaming dimples.
- 16:37SPEAKER_06: What's the number two?
- 16:38SPEAKER_06: On a standard six-sided die, the numbers on opposite sides traditionally add up to what number?
- 16:46SPEAKER_06: A six B seven C eight.
- 16:53SPEAKER_06: Lock in your answer.
- 17:01SPEAKER_06: The correct answer is the correct answer is B.
- 17:07SPEAKER_06: Seven.
- 17:13SPEAKER_06: They all equal seven.
- 17:16SPEAKER_06: Question number three.
- 17:18SPEAKER_06: The final question.
- 17:19SPEAKER_06: You probably heard somebody grab the dice, shake them up, and yell a famous phrase before letting them fly.
- 17:26SPEAKER_06: Which of these is the classic expression associated with rolling the dice?
- 17:32SPEAKER_06: A, come on, baby.
- 17:34SPEAKER_06: Daddy needs a brand new car.
- 17:36SPEAKER_06: B, come on, baby.
- 17:38SPEAKER_06: Mama needs a vacation.
- 17:40SPEAKER_06: Or C, come on, baby.
- 17:43SPEAKER_06: I need a new pair of shoes.
- 17:51SPEAKER_06: The correct answer is, and the answer is C.
- 17:56SPEAKER_06: Come on, baby.
- 17:58SPEAKER_06: I need a new pair of shoes.
- 18:00SPEAKER_06: And there you have it.
- 18:01SPEAKER_06: Dimple's Nation.
- 18:02SPEAKER_06: If you got all three correct, congratulations.
- 18:06SPEAKER_06: You are officially Dimple Dice certified.
- 18:10SPEAKER_06: Now, Dimple's Nation, after every Dimple Spotlight, we don't just tell the story, we put that story to music.
- 18:17SPEAKER_06: And you know me, I can't just give my musical family an easy assignment.
- 18:22SPEAKER_06: I've always given them a challenge.
- 18:25SPEAKER_06: Now, you've heard our Dimples praise and worship choir.
- 18:28SPEAKER_06: I introduced them when we had to respond to our number one hater, the Funny Mama.
- 18:34SPEAKER_06: And of course, you've heard about residential musical stars, Dimpo Suave and the Dimplettes.
- 18:41SPEAKER_06: But this week, we have some brand new voices joining the family.
- 18:46SPEAKER_06: And since it's their very first appearance, I figured, why make it easy on them?
- 18:52SPEAKER_06: Dimples Nation, for this week's musical challenge, we're heading all the way to South Africa.
- 18:58SPEAKER_06: I want our Dice song performed in the style of Ama Piano.
- 19:04SPEAKER_06: Now, if you're not familiar with Ama Piano, it's a South African music style blending influences from house, jazz, and other local sounds with those unmistakable, deep, long drum bass lines that help give Ama Piano its groove.
- 19:20SPEAKER_06: But there's one more thing this song needs some younger voices, some big energy.
- 19:26SPEAKER_06: Dimple's Nation, for the very first time on The Dimple Report.
- 19:31SPEAKER_06: Joining Dimpo Suave and the Dimplettes, please welcome our brand new children's choir, The Dimple Sprouts.
- 19:41SPEAKER_06: Come on, Sprouts.
- 19:42SPEAKER_06: I want to hear you and Sprouts.
- 19:45SPEAKER_06: Don't think you're standing in the background just looking cute.
- 19:48SPEAKER_06: I'm putting you to work.
- 19:50SPEAKER_06: I want chanting.
- 19:51SPEAKER_06: I want call and response.
- 19:53SPEAKER_06: I want those little voices all through this song.
- 19:57SPEAKER_06: And when that I'm a piano beat drops, I want the dimple sprouts to take over.
- 20:03SPEAKER_06: So we've got dice, we've got dimples, we've got South African rhythm, we've got dimple suave and the dimplettes.
- 20:13SPEAKER_06: And making their big debut, the Dimple Sprouts.
- 20:17SPEAKER_06: Show me what you got.
- 20:19SPEAKER_06: Here we go.
- 20:20SPEAKER_06: Roll that Ama Piano beat.
- 20:32SPEAKER_09: From ancient times to tonight, a little bit of chance, a little bit of luck.
- 20:41SPEAKER_09: Graceful Grady found another one.
- 20:54SPEAKER_10: One two three little six little chats.
- 20:57SPEAKER_09: Every number got a story.
- 21:04SPEAKER_09: They call it chest.
- 21:06SPEAKER_09: They call those little taste.
- 21:11SPEAKER_10: Now let them dance.
- 22:00SPEAKER_09: The dimple report.
- 22:01SPEAKER_09: Put the dim post.
- 22:06SPEAKER_10: Grace for great.
- 22:07SPEAKER_10: Who's the bringing that?
- 22:09SPEAKER_03: Dimple Swap.
- 22:11SPEAKER_10: And you know what?
- 22:14SPEAKER_03: Hold on.
- 22:16SPEAKER_03: Dimple's nature.
- 22:18SPEAKER_03: I think we got some new voices in the studio.
- 22:23SPEAKER_03: National Dimples Day.
- 22:25SPEAKER_03: Dimples nature.
- 22:27SPEAKER_03: For the very first time.
- 23:37SPEAKER_10: Dimple double double.
- 24:04SPEAKER_03: Welcome.
- 24:06SPEAKER_03: Let's see.
- 24:14SPEAKER_06: Whoa.
- 24:15SPEAKER_06: I told those kids to give me a little I'm a piano.
- 24:18SPEAKER_06: They gave me the whole garden.
- 24:20SPEAKER_06: Welcome to the Dimple Report Sprouts.
- 24:23SPEAKER_06: We will be right back after this commercial break.
- 24:28SPEAKER_11: Cheek dimples, sweet and fine.
- 24:30SPEAKER_11: Chin so pulled that perfect line.
- 24:32SPEAKER_11: Back dimples, ooh, they shine.
- 24:34SPEAKER_11: Every curve, every smile divine.
- 24:37SPEAKER_11: Confidence, that's the core.
- 24:38SPEAKER_11: Style in love, we give you more.
- 24:41SPEAKER_11: Flaunch your dimples there adore.
- 24:42SPEAKER_11: Chew your charm at the dimple store.
- 24:45SPEAKER_11: Every dimple, every dimple deserves to shine.
- 24:49SPEAKER_11: The dimple stars are now dimples nation.
- 25:00SPEAKER_06: Normally after the music, we move away from the dimple spotlight, but not today, because we're keeping it in the dice family.
- 25:09SPEAKER_06: It's time for the dimple drop.
- 25:12SPEAKER_06: And today's dimple drop goes to a man who helped turn Five Little Dice into one of the most recognizable games in the world.
- 25:20SPEAKER_06: The game is Yahtzee.
- 25:23SPEAKER_06: His name was Edward S.
- 25:26SPEAKER_06: Lowe, who had a cheek dimple.
- 25:29SPEAKER_06: Now, here's something interesting.
- 25:31SPEAKER_06: Lowe didn't actually invent the game that became Yahtzee.
- 25:35SPEAKER_06: According to Hasbro's history, a Canadian couple created the game and played it aboard their yacht with friends.
- 25:42SPEAKER_06: And what did they call it?
- 25:43SPEAKER_06: The yacht game.
- 25:45SPEAKER_06: Eventually, Edwin S.
- 25:46SPEAKER_06: Lowe acquired the rights, brought the game to the market in 1956, and the name became Yahtzee.
- 25:54SPEAKER_06: Five dice, three rolls, four houses, large straights.
- 25:59SPEAKER_06: In that moment, everybody is waiting for five of a kind.
- 26:03SPEAKER_06: Yahtzee.
- 26:04SPEAKER_06: And think about this.
- 26:05SPEAKER_06: Dimples Nation.
- 26:06SPEAKER_06: Five standard dice.
- 26:08SPEAKER_06: 21 gaming dimples on each one.
- 26:11SPEAKER_06: DDU, do the math.
- 26:14SPEAKER_06: 105 dimples sitting in that little Yahtzee cup.
- 26:18SPEAKER_06: Now that is a dimple drop.
- 26:22SPEAKER_06: So today we're dropping a dimple for Edwin S.
- 26:26SPEAKER_06: Lowe, the game entrepreneur who helped take the yacht game from a couple's pastime and turn it into what we know as Yachtsee.
- 26:35SPEAKER_06: Mr.
- 26:35SPEAKER_06: Lowe, for helping millions of people spend decades shaking 105 gaming dimples inside a cup, the dimple drop is for you.
- 26:43SPEAKER_06: We will be right back after this commercial break.
- 26:54SPEAKER_09: Oh darling when you smile at me, there's a magic in the air those little dimples on your cheeks I could follow anywhere that sweet left chin baby how it steals the midnight light.
- 27:36SPEAKER_08: Temple me darling, temple me true, every little curve just pulls me to July ninth we celebrate National Timples Day, so don't be late before the night.
- 28:54SPEAKER_06: All right, Dimple's Nation, you know what time it is.
- 28:58SPEAKER_06: Four lines, a little rhythm, a little rhyme, and today, maybe just a little luck.
- 29:04SPEAKER_06: It's time for Dimple Versus.
- 29:17SPEAKER_09: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to the show.
- 29:22SPEAKER_09: Now it's Dimple Versus, let the good vibes flow with graceful Granny on the mic so steady from the dimple report and the poetry's dimple reddy.
- 29:43SPEAKER_06: Okay, dimples nation, let me grab my shades.
- 29:53SPEAKER_06: Little marks of joy appear wherever smiles may fall.
- 29:58SPEAKER_06: Some are deep, some barely show, but we celebrate them all.
- 30:04SPEAKER_06: Every dimple tells a story, every smile can play its part, tiny impressions on the face, leaving big ones on the heart.
- 30:14SPEAKER_06: Oh yeah.
- 30:28SPEAKER_04: We will be right back.

- 31:00SPEAKER_04: Welcome back, Dimples Nation.
- 31:02SPEAKER_06: We've talked about dice.
- 31:03SPEAKER_06: We have rolled dice.
- 31:05SPEAKER_06: We sung about dice.
- 31:06SPEAKER_06: We've even put Yassi under the DMplifying glass.
- 31:10SPEAKER_06: So naturally, we need a movie with some dice.
- 31:13SPEAKER_06: It is time for film and TV.
- 31:16SPEAKER_06: Dimplified Dimples Nation, this week I'm taking you back to 1996.
- 31:33SPEAKER_06: Before Boogie Nights, before Magnolia, Paul Thomas Anderson made his feature directorial debut with a movie originally called Sydney and released as Hard Eight.
- 31:46SPEAKER_06: And if you know anything about gambling, you already know where that title takes us: The Craps Table.
- 31:53SPEAKER_06: Our story centers on Sydney, an experienced gambler who takes a struggling young man named John under his wing and teaches him how to survive around the casinos of Reno.
- 32:04SPEAKER_06: And look at this cast.
- 32:05SPEAKER_06: We've got the late Philip Baker Hall representing the Clefchin.
- 32:10SPEAKER_06: Then there's John C.
- 32:12SPEAKER_06: Raleigh, another Clefchin.
- 32:14SPEAKER_06: DDU, we've got doubles.
- 32:16SPEAKER_06: We've also got Gwyneth Patrol and Samuel L.
- 32:20SPEAKER_06: Jackson.
- 32:21SPEAKER_06: So we've got Dice, Casinos, Philip Baker Hall, John C.
- 32:26SPEAKER_06: Raleigh, Gwyneth Patrol, Samuel L.
- 32:29SPEAKER_06: Jackson, and two Clefchins.
- 32:32SPEAKER_06: Dimples Nation, I'm standing at the Crabs table, and I see two Clef chins staring back at me.
- 32:37SPEAKER_06: I'm taking that as a sign.
- 32:39SPEAKER_06: And here's something else I like about choosing Hard Eight this week.
- 32:43SPEAKER_06: A hard eight in craps is when the two dice come up, four and four.
- 32:48SPEAKER_06: Two dice showing the same number.
- 32:51SPEAKER_06: So not only did we find a movie about gambling that fits our dice dimple spotlight, the title itself comes from A Roll of the Dice.
- 33:01SPEAKER_06: Did you?
- 33:02SPEAKER_06: I think we found our movie.
- 33:04SPEAKER_06: This week's selection for film and TV, Demplified, is Paul Thomas Anderson's Heart Eight.
- 33:11SPEAKER_06: We will be right back with everyone's favorite, my fantasy dimpo draftee.
- 33:18SPEAKER_01: Ever wonder why you see poker t-shirts.com at the World Series of Poker?

- 33:46SPEAKER_06: Welcome back, Dimples Nation.
- 33:47SPEAKER_06: Now we've been talking about dice, chance, casinos, and taking a little risk.
- 33:52SPEAKER_06: But it's time to put the dice down because I'm about to put my pick on the table.
- 33:57SPEAKER_06: Now, this week, I'm going back to somebody we talked about earlier in the show, Cheek Dimples, a cleft chin, a reigning Super Bowl MVP.
- 34:07SPEAKER_06: And after what he just did in his Kansas City debut, I don't need the DDU to investigate this one.
- 34:13SPEAKER_06: I don't need the Dimplifying class.
- 34:15SPEAKER_06: And after an entire episode about dice, I don't even need to roll it.
- 34:20SPEAKER_06: Dimples Nation, my fantasy, Dimple Draftee this week.
- 34:24SPEAKER_06: Drum roll, please.
- 34:33SPEAKER_06: Kenneth K9 Walker III.
- 34:36SPEAKER_06: K9, come on down.
- 34:38SPEAKER_06: You're my guide.
- 34:39SPEAKER_06: Kansas City gets the Indianapolis Colts, who I still don't like because they used to be the Baltimore Colts.
- 34:46SPEAKER_06: Anyway, they're playing at Arrowhead.
- 34:50SPEAKER_06: So K9, handle your business.
- 34:52SPEAKER_06: We will be right back after a word from our sponsor.
- 34:56SPEAKER_01: Ever wonder why you see poker t-shirts.com at the World Series of Poker?
