- 0:00Speaker 1: The force will be with you always.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Hey, hello, everyone, Welcome back to another episode of Star
- 0:21Speaker 2: Wars Lions your home on the Geek Ultimate Lights podcast
- 0:25Speaker 2: network for any Nothing Star Wars. I am your host
- 0:28Speaker 2: as always Katie. And by the way, we are in
- 0:34Speaker 2: fact doing the definition of sleep training right now. Judge
- 0:38Speaker 2: me all you want, but we are sleeping great right now.
- 0:43Speaker 2: So if you hear my child screaming in the background,
- 0:48Speaker 2: now you didn't, pretend you don't, because that's what I
- 0:51Speaker 2: have to do. So with me as always is Clay,
- 0:56Speaker 2: who is doing the tweet because I have deleted Twitter
- 0:59Speaker 2: off my phone and I'm so proud of myself.
- 1:02Speaker 3: I was gonna say, you are better for it, trust me.
- 1:06Speaker 2: I am. My screen time is down by two hours.
- 1:13Speaker 3: Damn.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Yeah. It was pathetic and I don't even I still
- 1:19Speaker 2: have Twitter on my phone, but I have to go
- 1:20Speaker 2: through Safari, which is just a pain in the butt
- 1:25Speaker 2: and it just keeps me off of it. It's just
- 1:26Speaker 2: an extra step that like, do you really want to be.
- 1:30Speaker 4: On this right now?
- 1:31Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:32Speaker 2: Is no.
- 1:33Speaker 3: It's what my old co host for Batman News Weekly
- 1:36Speaker 3: used to do because he used to do regular detoxing
- 1:39Speaker 3: of Twitter, and so he would delete it, he would
- 1:42Speaker 3: delete the app, he would take it off his computer,
- 1:46Speaker 3: and then he would only be like he would have
- 1:50Speaker 3: the tab open but logged out of Safari, so that
- 1:54Speaker 3: way he would have to still log in all of
- 1:58Speaker 3: that stuff. Yeah, so uh yeah, very proud of you,
- 2:02Speaker 3: very very proud of you.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Thank you. I'm trying my best. So we are here
- 2:10Speaker 2: to talk about some Star Wars today, and the answer
- 2:14Speaker 2: to which specific Star Wars is Skeleton Crew episode seven
- 2:18Speaker 2: on where John Wheel Delightsaber Doug Dot. But first, thanks, First,
- 2:26Speaker 2: we are here to talk about some news to start
- 2:30Speaker 2: us off. So the first thing and probably the most relevant,
- 2:39Speaker 2: is this interview that James Mangold did uh and promoting
- 2:42Speaker 2: his Bob Dylan bio pick a Complete Unknown, and he
- 2:49Speaker 2: was asked several questions about his Star Wars movie, and
- 2:53Speaker 2: reportedly he and Android writer Bo Willheman are close to
- 2:57Speaker 2: finishing up a draft. So he said his goal is
- 3:04Speaker 2: to create something new in original and that setting the
- 3:10Speaker 2: film so far back in the timeline makes that easier.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Part of the he said, part of the reason the
- 3:15Speaker 2: Star Wars movie would be taking place twenty five thousand
- 3:18Speaker 2: years before any known Star Wars movie take place is
- 3:22Speaker 2: because it's an area and the playground that I've always
- 3:25Speaker 2: wanted to explore and that I was inspired by as
- 3:27Speaker 2: a teenager. But I'm also also I'm not interested it.
- 3:32Speaker 2: But also I'm not that interested in being handcuffed by
- 3:36Speaker 2: so much loar at this point that it's almost immovable
- 3:39Speaker 2: and you can't please anybody.
- 3:43Speaker 3: A lot of pimes jump.
- 3:44Speaker 2: On him for this quote, but I find it very relevant.
- 3:49Speaker 3: It's very It is the one thing that I need
- 3:53Speaker 3: more filmmakers that are coming into Star Wars to be
- 3:58Speaker 3: open to doing. I need them to be asking these
- 4:03Speaker 3: questions to get into this position when they are interested
- 4:09Speaker 3: in making a Star Wars film. And don't get me.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Wrong, he's still gonna be handcuffed by some lord like, oh,
- 4:16Speaker 2: the Force can't raise people from the dead, like that's
- 4:20Speaker 2: probably like the biggest number one thing. But I mean,
- 4:24Speaker 2: he doesn't have to have a lightsaber. He doesn't have
- 4:27Speaker 2: There can be certain force powers that he can use,
- 4:31Speaker 2: but then also others he doesn't have to use because
- 4:34Speaker 2: it's twenty five thousand years before anything and force powers
- 4:37Speaker 2: can be lost into oblivion and others can be found
- 4:41Speaker 2: in it. So I'm really down for this I'm excited
- 4:45Speaker 2: to hear that they're close to finishing up a draft,
- 4:49Speaker 2: and a lot of people have actually said that man
- 4:52Speaker 2: Gold's movie is actually going Oh no, that was Sean
- 4:55Speaker 2: Levy's movie. Sean Levy is holding space for his movie
- 5:00Speaker 2: to film in this upcoming fall, I guess because we're
- 5:04Speaker 2: in twenty twenty five now, so we can say that.
- 5:08Speaker 2: But so still nothing.
- 5:13Speaker 3: Really on.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Where Mangold is going to be at with like taking
- 5:19Speaker 2: up this film and getting production started, but he doesn't
- 5:22Speaker 2: have another film scheduled after his Bob Dylan pick.
- 5:26Speaker 3: So I would hope that, well, let me back the
- 5:35Speaker 3: f up, because I would like to say I hope
- 5:37Speaker 3: he rushes into this, but and that's just me being
- 5:43Speaker 3: very impatient and wanting this movie. This is quite possibly
- 5:48Speaker 3: my most anticipated project for Star Wars, just because it will,
- 5:54Speaker 3: like I am hoping, and this might sound weird from
- 5:59Speaker 3: somebody who who absolutely hates this franchise now, but I
- 6:04Speaker 3: hope that he takes on this approach, almost like how
- 6:09Speaker 3: James Cameron took on Avatar, like I wanted to feel alien,
- 6:16Speaker 3: you know, the way that people look at Avatar and
- 6:19Speaker 3: they're like, oh, this is completely new, completely different, I
- 6:23Speaker 3: want it to be alien and then us as viewers
- 6:30Speaker 3: and fans of Star Wars throughout the movie be like
- 6:35Speaker 3: those aha moments that connect it to the greater universe.
- 6:38Speaker 3: That's what I want. I don't want it from the
- 6:42Speaker 3: start to be like, oh, this is a Star Wars film.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Cool, Like yeah, you know, I could one hundred percent
- 6:48Speaker 2: see that. I don't want it. I agree, like I
- 6:52Speaker 2: want it to feel outside of everything. But also, like
- 6:58Speaker 2: you say, Avatar, James Cameron has written one of the
- 7:02Speaker 2: worst stories ever with Avatar. His shit looked really cool,
- 7:08Speaker 2: but his story sucks, so I need it to not have.
- 7:11Speaker 3: Yes, So like, so that was probably the worst option
- 7:17Speaker 3: I could have chosen as far as like the comparison,
- 7:21Speaker 3: but in the sense of like the popularization of Avatar
- 7:26Speaker 3: and the reason behind it and everything else I think
- 7:28Speaker 3: is like the reason why I did that. But like
- 7:32Speaker 3: you can't go too far out there, like I can't
- 7:34Speaker 3: ask Mangold to make a rival in the Star Wars universe,
- 7:40Speaker 3: you know, like it's alien, but like you can't go
- 7:46Speaker 3: to sci fi with it because we've had these discussiyah before,
- 7:49Speaker 3: like Star Wars is fantasy, Star Wars is action adventure,
- 7:56Speaker 3: like it like we want different genres and Star Wars.
- 8:01Speaker 3: There's a right approach to do those different genres within
- 8:04Speaker 3: Star Wars. But because of what we've been told about
- 8:07Speaker 3: this movie already, you kind of have to take a
- 8:11Speaker 3: careful approach to it as is.
- 8:14Speaker 2: So and I think I think Mangold's the perfect person
- 8:19Speaker 2: for this because of his attachment to recreating historical stories.
- 8:30Speaker 2: Ford versus Ferrari, Bob Dylan, There's one more that I
- 8:36Speaker 2: can't remember off the top of my head, But I
- 8:40Speaker 2: think he's perfect for this because he can just treat
- 8:44Speaker 2: it as such. I think so. Yeah, and the Bob Dylan,
- 8:50Speaker 2: I mean, from what I can see, it's already gotten shamlet.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Uh shallo may excuse me?
- 9:00Speaker 3: The line? Is the other movie that you're.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Yeah, that one? But the Bob Dylan pick has gotten
- 9:07Speaker 2: shallow may already award nominations, So I'm here for it.
- 9:15Speaker 3: Oh well, there's also uh, three tend to Yuma. I
- 9:19Speaker 3: believe it is another. Wasn't three tend to Yuma a remake?
- 9:26Speaker 3: I believe?
- 9:28Speaker 2: I don't. Oh, I guess I should put James Mangold
- 9:32Speaker 2: in front of that. I don't recognize that.
- 9:34Speaker 3: One for some reason, I want to say that Three
- 9:40Speaker 3: Tend to Yuma, like the original was a uh shoot,
- 9:50Speaker 3: I'm gonna forget his name, and my grandfather is gonna
- 9:54Speaker 3: be pissed at me. Aha. There is a nineteen fifty
- 9:57Speaker 3: seven movie Three Tend to Yuma with freaking Oh my gosh.
- 10:04Speaker 4: Who else is in this movie? Actually, I don't know
- 10:12Speaker 4: if I know any of these people in the nineteen
- 10:15Speaker 4: fifty seven Birds in the Yuma, But my grandfather loved
- 10:19Speaker 4: old Western movies, so like this.
- 10:23Speaker 3: Yeah, I think Mangold is the right person to kind
- 10:26Speaker 3: of revamp and give a new light to quote unquote
- 10:34Speaker 3: older franchises. I know that Star Wars is not an
- 10:37Speaker 3: old franchise, but it is a new franchise. It's still
- 10:40Speaker 3: a modern franchise, but you get the idea.
- 10:43Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, Well, I was gonna say the next piece
- 10:53Speaker 5: of news that we got from what I see in
- 10:57Speaker 5: our Star Wars Alliance chat very on topic with our
- 11:03Speaker 5: main topic with Dave Filoni and the rumor.
- 11:09Speaker 3: Again, we have to state this is a rumor coming
- 11:13Speaker 3: from Daniel RpK Uh. Dave Filoni's Star Wars film will
- 11:20Speaker 3: reportedly feature characters from the Skeleton Crew, and rightfully so
- 11:27Speaker 3: Snell replied with leave them alone, Leave them alone. Don't
- 11:33Speaker 3: you touch them? Uh, Katie, how do you feel about this?
- 11:39Speaker 2: To me, it makes sense because it's Mando verse, as
- 11:45Speaker 2: people hate and love to call it. So to me,
- 11:50Speaker 2: drawing everybody together in what is supposed to be the
- 11:53Speaker 2: climax of this era from Farro and Folony just makes sense.
- 11:59Speaker 3: The one thing that I hate about this though, guys,
- 12:04Speaker 3: let me just they call it the Mando verse, Okay,
- 12:08Speaker 3: and I understand, I understand why. We both literally just
- 12:12Speaker 3: said we understand why.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 12:14Speaker 3: Each in particular show, though, feels so much better when
- 12:20Speaker 3: you think about them separately. Yeah, Ohsoka, Never once did
- 12:27Speaker 3: I think about Denjarn, not a single time.
- 12:33Speaker 2: Bubba Fet.
- 12:34Speaker 3: You had no choice, Bubba Fet, you had no choice.
- 12:37Speaker 3: You know that? That's that? Oh so great episode? What
- 12:40Speaker 3: seven six? One of the two in season three? Was it?
- 12:45Speaker 3: Episode five? Was it that early in the season. I'm
- 12:49Speaker 3: gonna look, and everybody dubbed it Mando season two point five?
- 12:57Speaker 3: That one episode chapter five? Yeah, chapter five. God, I
- 13:03Speaker 3: still open that. I still remember that fucking awesome cold
- 13:07Speaker 3: open in the bus was good. It was so good.
- 13:10Speaker 3: I'm so sorry, Bubba fet but it was so good.
- 13:15Speaker 3: But you look at these other shows Ahsoka Uh, Mandalorian
- 13:22Speaker 3: of course, and especially Skeleton Crew, especially with tonight's episode
- 13:29Speaker 3: or last night's episode. You watch these and you don't think, oh,
- 13:35Speaker 3: I want the assembling of the Avengers in here, like
- 13:38Speaker 3: you just don't. You look at this and you're like,
- 13:41Speaker 3: this is great because these are isolated stories in a
- 13:45Speaker 3: greater galaxy, and they take characteristics of this galaxy and
- 13:51Speaker 3: implement them into the show organically. That's how a connected
- 13:56Speaker 3: universe should play. But of course you have this idea
- 14:02Speaker 3: of like, oh, but they all need to meet at
- 14:04Speaker 3: the very end. They don't all need to meet. They don't.
- 14:08Speaker 3: I have it worries me for the end of this
- 14:12Speaker 3: series because it's so goddamn good, and I feel like
- 14:16Speaker 3: Feloni's gonna put his little fingers in the finale and
- 14:21Speaker 3: it's gonna ruin it for me, Katie.
- 14:24Speaker 2: I have a theory, especially after today's episode, I feel
- 14:32Speaker 2: I feel like Jod is going to be the only
- 14:36Speaker 2: character in this movie and he is actually going to replace.
- 14:45Speaker 3: Cardis.
- 14:45Speaker 2: No, that's not Cardis. It's the crazy Jedi man.
- 14:51Speaker 3: Oh uh from the Empire.
- 14:58Speaker 6: Yeah, because and this could be why because a lot
- 15:04Speaker 6: of people were saying, and I agree, John wields the
- 15:07Speaker 6: lightsaber very weirdly.
- 15:09Speaker 2: In the.
- 15:11Speaker 3: It irked me, I said. Before we started recording, I said,
- 15:17Speaker 3: and we'll talk about this more in the actual topic
- 15:19Speaker 3: of the episode. But I said, uh, uh, you're thinking
- 15:26Speaker 3: about uh Joris by the way, that's who it was. Yes,
- 15:34Speaker 3: I'm just gonna make this one note and then we
- 15:36Speaker 3: can talk about the actual episode. It was. It was
- 15:40Speaker 3: so awkward, like the fact that he tried to even
- 15:43Speaker 3: pull off that he was a Jedi with these kids,
- 15:46Speaker 3: and then the audacity of him holding the lightsaber that way.
- 15:49Speaker 2: I was like, anger, wait, right, they don't know any
- 15:54Speaker 2: better because they've been seeing a Jedi. And like again,
- 15:59Speaker 2: going by to the beginning episode, Whim is making funky
- 16:03Speaker 2: lightsaber noises with the intent that they're lightsaber noises, but
- 16:06Speaker 2: he doesn't know because he's never seen a lightsaber.
- 16:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:10Speaker 2: So I'm really feeling that Jod could team up with
- 16:18Speaker 2: Ron be the funky Jedi dude, evil Jedi dude in
- 16:24Speaker 2: the plot. And then that leads into season two of
- 16:28Speaker 2: Skeleton Crew. All right, y'all, we're gonna hit our first
- 16:31Speaker 2: ad break and we will be right back in three
- 16:34Speaker 2: two one.
- 16:37Speaker 3: I don't know, And have we confirmed that there is
- 16:41Speaker 3: a season two?
- 16:43Speaker 2: No, they're playing around with and obviously like nothing's been
- 16:48Speaker 2: green light yet. But the interview was like, yeah, we
- 16:51Speaker 2: have ideas for season two that would account for the
- 16:55Speaker 2: kids being aged up so much because remember this shot
- 16:59Speaker 2: in two twenty two. Yeah, and was ready to go
- 17:04Speaker 2: last fall yep, but then we didn't get it or
- 17:10Speaker 2: fall twenty twenty.
- 17:11Speaker 3: Right, I don't know this this I'm gonna I'm gonna
- 17:15Speaker 3: sound very Travis Snell right now. This needs to stay
- 17:23Speaker 3: one season. You think this what this? This needs to
- 17:28Speaker 3: stay as a one season ordeal to keep its perfection.
- 17:35Speaker 3: I'm gonna be that guy. I'm sorry. Now. If they
- 17:40Speaker 3: can pull it off, if they can say, hey, like
- 17:45Speaker 3: we're going to continue this ride exactly the way we
- 17:50Speaker 3: have in season one, I'm all for it. If it
- 17:54Speaker 3: is stuck with pushing a a plot line to a
- 18:02Speaker 3: movie or another person's season, that of Ahsoka or anybody
- 18:11Speaker 3: like that, I think it hinders the next season, which is.
- 18:17Speaker 2: A fair point. I just think Jude Law, so Jude
- 18:21Speaker 2: Law gives you another element to bring people to the
- 18:24Speaker 2: screen for.
- 18:26Speaker 3: A big movie.
- 18:28Speaker 2: He's a well known brand, so I feel like he's
- 18:33Speaker 2: the best VET for a character to include. And then
- 18:40Speaker 2: I don't know, especially if we can just go ahead
- 18:42Speaker 2: and lead into the episode, especially after today's episode.
- 18:46Speaker 3: Well, I just want to mention one more piece of
- 18:48Speaker 3: news before we jump into that. It has nothing to
- 18:53Speaker 3: do specifically with Star Wars, but a Ghost of Shashima
- 18:58Speaker 3: anime series is going to be being pushed by Sony
- 19:06Speaker 3: and it will be directed by Takanobu Mizuna, which was
- 19:12Speaker 3: the director of the duel in Star Wars Visions season one.
- 19:19Speaker 3: So just wanted to point that out because it was
- 19:23Speaker 3: a very highly anticipated episode because of how epic the
- 19:30Speaker 3: trailer was for Star Wars Visions, I think the duel
- 19:33Speaker 3: is on the top five of almost everybody's list with
- 19:39Speaker 3: the two seasons that are out already, so it is
- 19:44Speaker 3: a great production, and I believe this Ghost of Tsushima
- 19:49Speaker 3: will be the same. So just wanted to point that out.
- 19:53Speaker 3: So I'm looking forward to that a whole lot.
- 19:56Speaker 2: No, So I just think with how today's episode jumping
- 20:06Speaker 2: straight onto spoilers, guys, I do apologize if you were
- 20:09Speaker 2: waiting for non spoilers, but uh I just think with
- 20:13Speaker 2: today's episode, I don't so I feel like we're gonna
- 20:18Speaker 2: get a finite conclusion. But I also don't know how
- 20:24Speaker 2: they keep these kids on that ad in the future.
- 20:29Speaker 3: I you can't. And the reason why I say you
- 20:37Speaker 3: can't is this is the very stereotypical story of like
- 20:53Speaker 3: kid leaves hometown or state, you know, or whatever, and
- 20:58Speaker 3: they see the world. Right, these kids have seen what's
- 21:02Speaker 3: out there.
- 21:03Speaker 2: Yeah, and some of them and some of them may
- 21:07Speaker 2: be content to stay on at Auton, but at least
- 21:11Speaker 2: two of them are not.
- 21:14Speaker 3: Yeah, like you saw in this episode alone, in the
- 21:18Speaker 3: very beginning, we have the kids coming back to at
- 21:23Speaker 3: and and they all get into a discussion because Wim
- 21:30Speaker 3: is just kind of pouting and he's kind of just
- 21:33Speaker 3: sitting there and he's like, we're it's it's all gonna
- 21:37Speaker 3: be the same, Like we're gonna go there, it's gonna
- 21:39Speaker 3: be boring, like it's it's just basically saying like I
- 21:44Speaker 3: don't want to go back, and you know you have
- 21:49Speaker 3: uh Neil, you know, like, hey, yeah, it was a
- 21:53Speaker 3: great adventure. I was almost dying the entire time, but
- 21:58Speaker 3: it was great, you know, And I think Neil could
- 22:02Speaker 3: go either way, like yea, honestly uh and then with
- 22:08Speaker 3: uh KB and Fern, I think that in all honesty,
- 22:16Speaker 3: in all honesty, I think Fern is ready to just
- 22:19Speaker 3: stay home.
- 22:21Speaker 2: You think Fern is.
- 22:23Speaker 3: I think Fern is ready to stay home.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Oh, I don't think n is.
- 22:28Speaker 3: I I don't know just the way that I think
- 22:32Speaker 3: it'll be a surprise if we ever get like a
- 22:35Speaker 3: for sure like conclusion to their thought process. I think
- 22:40Speaker 3: Fern was. I think Fern is the type of individual
- 22:42Speaker 3: that's like, okay, like we did all of this. It
- 22:48Speaker 3: was fun and all, but like I'm I'm I'm done
- 22:52Speaker 3: being the the the not so nice girl. I'm gonna
- 22:56Speaker 3: listen to mom now I learned my lesson, you know,
- 22:59Speaker 3: type of thing. I feel like I could be proven wrong.
- 23:02Speaker 3: I could definitely be proven wrong. And I think on purpose.
- 23:08Speaker 3: KB is kind of still stoically, like you can't really
- 23:13Speaker 3: read her in the sense of like how we feel
- 23:17Speaker 3: because yeah, she almost died, but like she may be like, oh, yeah,
- 23:24Speaker 3: you know that happens to people. People die, you know,
- 23:27Speaker 3: let's go have some fun, you know, but like, how
- 23:33Speaker 3: do you feel about this this opening? Though, this opening
- 23:37Speaker 3: with the transmitter.
- 23:40Speaker 2: It's very classic like take one, pass it around.
- 23:46Speaker 3: I didn't necessarily love that because they weren't creative with
- 23:53Speaker 3: that at all.
- 23:54Speaker 2: No very standard bag ciche like.
- 23:59Speaker 3: Even with the choreography of like the running or anything.
- 24:03Speaker 3: It was it was very okay, you know, fall down,
- 24:06Speaker 3: other one to grab it. Okay, fall down, other one
- 24:08Speaker 3: grab it like there was and there was no dialogue
- 24:11Speaker 3: with it, like there was, there was nothing there.
- 24:16Speaker 2: I do kind of wish that Whim's dad had been
- 24:19Speaker 2: the last one to pass it off, because I just
- 24:21Speaker 2: think that would have been it would have hit me harder.
- 24:26Speaker 3: I think so too. I know that we saw the
- 24:30Speaker 3: scene where they first took off, and you know he
- 24:35Speaker 3: was very worried for him, and then we had you know,
- 24:38Speaker 3: him actually talking to the droid saying like, hey, we
- 24:41Speaker 3: did this because we had no other choice. You know.
- 24:44Speaker 3: So you you see, you have seen the emotion there.
- 24:48Speaker 3: But I agree with Ferne's mother already having a sense
- 24:53Speaker 3: of authority in her position, her letting go of that
- 24:57Speaker 3: transmitter to actually release it. It doesn't really do anything
- 25:01Speaker 3: for me. Uh, I think it would have been a
- 25:06Speaker 3: bigger gut punch if you see, uh, Whim's dad let
- 25:14Speaker 3: go of it.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Yeah, like with like something like like what he says
- 25:19Speaker 2: in the communicator, because he's very stoic in the hologram
- 25:23Speaker 2: transmission too, But it's like if he just would set
- 25:26Speaker 2: it off and be like come home, when come home,
- 25:29Speaker 2: or like something just to kind of like play on
- 25:31Speaker 2: the emotions a little bit. But yeah, I always did
- 25:38Speaker 2: those kinds of scenes. I'm like with like the oh,
- 25:43Speaker 2: we're gonna stun you and then you have to pass
- 25:45Speaker 2: it off to the next person. Like it reminds me
- 25:48Speaker 2: of football, like you know, if you where like they
- 25:52Speaker 2: do like a bunch of like reverse passes when they
- 25:55Speaker 2: get tackled to try and like The.
- 25:58Speaker 3: Longest Garden, it sounds familiar. It's the Adam said, well, well,
- 26:05Speaker 3: Burt Reynolds is the original Longest Yard, but there's a
- 26:09Speaker 3: remake with Adam Sandler and Burt Reynolds. But have you
- 26:16Speaker 3: seen The Longest Yard? Because if you haven't, Okay, when
- 26:23Speaker 3: you are not sleep training and you actually have the
- 26:27Speaker 3: time to watch this movie, I need you to watch
- 26:30Speaker 3: the movie. Okay, So the next few scenes that we
- 26:35Speaker 3: see introduces the outside of that at.
- 26:41Speaker 2: Okay, we got to talk about this barrier. We just
- 26:43Speaker 2: gotta like it's gorgeous.
- 26:45Speaker 3: First, this was awesome. I love it.
- 26:50Speaker 2: Then getting into it when they this is like midway
- 26:53Speaker 2: through the episode, but like getting into it when the
- 26:56Speaker 2: kids are going down and you find out, oh, the
- 26:58Speaker 2: Amic Center was a rich only a mint ship and
- 27:02Speaker 2: it was stolen and that's why it can go through
- 27:05Speaker 2: the barrier is because it's in the ship. And I
- 27:08Speaker 2: love it when Whim's like, this isn't a pirate chip,
- 27:11Speaker 2: It's a not act and ship.
- 27:14Speaker 3: For me was because it dawned on me mid episode,
- 27:19Speaker 3: like right like as they were diving down, I was like,
- 27:23Speaker 3: this is the second to last episode. There's no way
- 27:27Speaker 3: that they are going to go out of their way
- 27:29Speaker 3: to find another planet and hope that they can find
- 27:32Speaker 3: somebody to get them onto at At. They're going to
- 27:36Speaker 3: have to dive into this place and hopefully make it
- 27:39Speaker 3: out alive. And I was like, okay, I'm cool with that.
- 27:42Speaker 3: And then you start to see like the basically like uh.
- 27:53Speaker 2: Giant satellite dishes that speel lightning.
- 27:56Speaker 3: That yet that generate this storm that is covering at Atten.
- 28:02Speaker 2: I know what I want to say, storm wall that Oh.
- 28:06Speaker 3: I was gonna say storm seed, storm wall technology. Yeah,
- 28:10Speaker 3: that's exactly how I felt with this and the view
- 28:16Speaker 3: of actual at Atten. Yeah, made me teary eyed. It
- 28:22Speaker 3: was gorgeous. The one shot of the like event horizon
- 28:28Speaker 3: like just like the lighting and it was so good.
- 28:33Speaker 3: I loved it.
- 28:35Speaker 2: The lighting in this episode in journal like John is
- 28:39Speaker 2: lit like, especially when he comes down onto Gotten from
- 28:42Speaker 2: the ship. The lighting in that scene, Oh, I got
- 28:46Speaker 2: like the lighting in general just awesome.
- 28:50Speaker 3: I really love the cinematography of this episode.
- 28:53Speaker 2: Yeah, Isaac chungk did a fantastic John.
- 28:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:58Speaker 2: The so going back to storm Seeds, storm Wall technology,
- 29:04Speaker 2: I'm really interested to see if we're going to hear
- 29:06Speaker 2: the word n hell pop up. I did. I could
- 29:14Speaker 2: see it, and you know, I think because Jod says,
- 29:19Speaker 2: oh Aton has been hidden for hundreds of years, and
- 29:24Speaker 2: so if you think about it, like if you go
- 29:26Speaker 2: back like you're at like two hundred years ish, because
- 29:35Speaker 2: because the High Republic is one hundred and fifty years
- 29:38Speaker 2: before the Phantom Menace, and then you have about forty
- 29:42Speaker 2: years to where we are, so about two hundred years
- 29:45Speaker 2: that could qualify right there.
- 29:49Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, I Katie, this is why I call
- 29:55Speaker 3: you the Queen of the Timeline of Star Wars because
- 29:59Speaker 3: I can never put it into perspective until you start
- 30:01Speaker 3: laying out a timeline, because I'm looking at this right now,
- 30:07Speaker 3: knowing where it is, and I'm like, oh, this is
- 30:10Speaker 3: like freaking four hundred years before the High Republic. It's
- 30:13Speaker 3: there's no way. And then you bring something up like that,
- 30:16Speaker 3: I'm like, oh, uh yeah, hello, uh yeah. So it
- 30:21Speaker 3: could totally work well.
- 30:23Speaker 2: And there were some questions that I saw online where
- 30:26Speaker 2: it was like, oh, but the storm Wall only prevented
- 30:29Speaker 2: hyper space travel. No, it didn't because l'sarman when he
- 30:34Speaker 2: goes to try and push through, it is pushing through
- 30:36Speaker 2: at sub light speed with the Republic militia because it
- 30:43Speaker 2: wasn't truly a military at that point, and so the
- 30:46Speaker 2: defense armada is trying to push through and you get
- 30:49Speaker 2: one through, but then it just sling shots you back.
- 30:53Speaker 2: So yes, it prevented hyperspace travel, but it also prevented
- 30:56Speaker 2: sublight so could apply here.
- 31:02Speaker 3: I think it would be very interesting if we had
- 31:05Speaker 3: a mention of Nihill I really dug well, first, I
- 31:16Speaker 3: want to go ahead and bring up your tweet with
- 31:20Speaker 3: the fact that we have no idea what episode Hi, Travis, Yes,
- 31:25Speaker 3: I want to say hi to Travis in the chat.
- 31:27Speaker 3: Thank you Travis for being here. I do want to
- 31:31Speaker 3: know which episode or what cut of the episode Jude
- 31:36Speaker 3: lassaw because.
- 31:37Speaker 2: He is, yeah, sorry, you finished, and then I will.
- 31:44Speaker 3: He mentioned in an interview and whatnot that episode seven
- 31:48Speaker 3: was his favorite because we would see some background and
- 31:53Speaker 3: true colors of John and everything else, which in this
- 31:58Speaker 3: wee colors. We do, we do see some true colors
- 32:02Speaker 3: of of this character. Backstory not so much. We don't
- 32:07Speaker 3: see any backstory at all.
- 32:09Speaker 2: We're gonna go into our second ad break and we'll
- 32:13Speaker 2: be right back.
- 32:15Speaker 3: But how did you feel? Did you know what was
- 32:18Speaker 3: gonna happen to Brutus? Did you? Did you? Did you
- 32:21Speaker 3: have an inkling of it at all?
- 32:23Speaker 2: I had a feeling. And this is the other thing
- 32:25Speaker 2: that I wanted to bring up. If you look at
- 32:29Speaker 2: kb's hair, her hair is curly in that scene with Brutus.
- 32:38Speaker 3: I'm literally on the scene right now. What what what
- 32:42Speaker 3: about her hair is is signific.
- 32:44Speaker 2: So it's wavy and in all the other like we've
- 32:47Speaker 2: got our background up here from episode one and two
- 32:50Speaker 2: and it's straight there mm hmm, but it's wavy in
- 32:54Speaker 2: that picture. And I'm fairly certain I missed it because
- 32:59Speaker 2: the closest shot really get of her in the other
- 33:02Speaker 2: spots is in the opening scene where they're in hyperspace
- 33:07Speaker 2: and everything, and I'm pretty certain that one she would it.
- 33:09Speaker 3: Was straight, Like are you just like pointing out like
- 33:15Speaker 3: a like a like or a reshoot? Okay, okay, hmmm,
- 33:22Speaker 3: that would be interesting. Let me actually see if if
- 33:26Speaker 3: because there's the moment where there is a close up
- 33:29Speaker 3: on her. Oh yeah, there it has very small inklings
- 33:36Speaker 3: of like wavy hair. Yeah yeah, But.
- 33:39Speaker 2: In every other part it's been straight, not to say,
- 33:44Speaker 2: like she just visited a steam planet and it could
- 33:47Speaker 2: have like messed with her texture and stuff because that's
- 33:51Speaker 2: what my hair does. But but but.
- 33:55Speaker 3: Usually with these characters, that is it is very odd continuity.
- 34:00Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, Well, the immediate scene after she has uh,
- 34:07Speaker 3: because they're all sitting down in the table, she has
- 34:11Speaker 3: a little bit of wavy hair. Okay, a little bit so,
- 34:14Speaker 3: but maybe all of this is part of the reshoot.
- 34:17Speaker 3: We don't know if there was any you know, it
- 34:20Speaker 3: would be very interesting to see if they had actually
- 34:23Speaker 3: changed that up a bit. But at this point, this
- 34:28Speaker 3: is where they get the transmission, where we learn like, oh,
- 34:32Speaker 3: there is a way to get onto the planet, but
- 34:34Speaker 3: you need to find some specific individual that can help
- 34:38Speaker 3: you get onto the planet. And this is where And
- 34:44Speaker 3: I love thirty three. Have I said that already? I
- 34:48Speaker 3: feel like I've said.
- 34:48Speaker 2: That every single episode.
- 34:50Speaker 3: Thirty three is like and I think this is just
- 34:55Speaker 3: like the goal of every Star Wars show is, Hey,
- 35:01Speaker 3: let's see if we can get a new droid to
- 35:03Speaker 3: be everybody's favorite. Like I think that is that and ultimately,
- 35:07Speaker 3: I think that is a safe goal. Like if you
- 35:10Speaker 3: can't get any other goal in all of Star Wars,
- 35:15Speaker 3: but if you can reach the one goal of hey,
- 35:18Speaker 3: let's make the new droid everybody's favorite. You've worn Star Wars,
- 35:22Speaker 3: that's it. That's like, it's it's a very simple goal.
- 35:26Speaker 3: But thirty three is like, oh, well, technically, technically for
- 35:33Speaker 3: the Pirate code, one pirate can own one ship and
- 35:39Speaker 3: that is it. And like whim is like so like
- 35:44Speaker 3: anxiety filled. He's like trying to call claims's and John
- 35:48Speaker 3: runs over and covers his mouth. It's like, I claim
- 35:50Speaker 3: this ship, like okay, cool. I don't know why they
- 35:54Speaker 3: didn't immediately claim the other ship. Then that would have
- 35:59Speaker 3: been my thing. It's like, fine, if that's the case,
- 36:02Speaker 3: then I claim the other ship, the bigger one, the
- 36:04Speaker 3: one that you're sitting in right now, Thank you very much,
- 36:07Speaker 3: get off my ship. But then I love I love burn,
- 36:12Speaker 3: and this again shows you, guys, these are kids. These
- 36:17Speaker 3: aren't preteens, these aren't young adults. These are kids ads.
- 36:24Speaker 3: And Erne is like, well, I call claims these back sies,
- 36:29Speaker 3: and I have this ship now, and Jod's like, yeah, no, no,
- 36:34Speaker 3: that's that's that.
- 36:37Speaker 2: And then.
- 36:40Speaker 3: It's to me thirty three is just like no, that's
- 36:44Speaker 3: close enough, and he freaking knocks him out starts fighting everybody.
- 36:49Speaker 3: I love how thirty three has gone back and forth
- 36:55Speaker 3: and back and forth and back and forth, which makes
- 36:59Speaker 3: me think back on our first prediction, Katie, do you
- 37:06Speaker 3: think John is gonna go back to helping these kids
- 37:11Speaker 3: at the very end of this show? No, be a
- 37:16Speaker 3: bad guy.
- 37:17Speaker 2: I think I said at the beginning, I don't trust him,
- 37:20Speaker 2: like he's a bad guy, and I'm just sticking by that.
- 37:25Speaker 3: Very true. It was kind of me and Adrian that
- 37:28Speaker 3: kind of said like, oh, I think he will warm
- 37:30Speaker 3: up to the kids eventually, and like, yeah, he might
- 37:33Speaker 3: backstab them, But then he will ultimately help them in
- 37:38Speaker 3: the very end. Yeah, I don't think so. And I
- 37:44Speaker 3: don't think because I mean, you can always say like that.
- 37:49Speaker 3: He was like, oh, I said all those things in
- 37:52Speaker 3: front of my crewmates because I needed to save face
- 37:55Speaker 3: and be like this big bad pirate dude. But I
- 37:59Speaker 3: was never gonna do any of it to your parents.
- 38:00Speaker 3: Blah blah blah blah blah.
- 38:03Speaker 2: He doesn't draw the lightsaber at the end. If that's the.
- 38:07Speaker 3: Case, yeah, I agree. But then Katie, I just said
- 38:18Speaker 3: I love thirty three. I just said he's my new
- 38:22Speaker 3: favorite droid. I swear to God, Disney, you see me
- 38:28Speaker 3: right now. And Kennedy, Kathleen Kennedy, Dave Filoney, the good Bob.
- 38:38Speaker 3: I want thirty three back. He better not be dead
- 38:43Speaker 3: the way he sliced his head clean off of his shoulders.
- 38:47Speaker 3: The rat, I gasped. I don't think that's very funny,
- 38:56Speaker 3: and I don't think it's very nice. Jod Okay, give
- 39:03Speaker 3: me me back. I need me back, I need I
- 39:08Speaker 3: need him. But then like he I saw somebody. I
- 39:12Speaker 3: saw somebody say, they had all the kids on their knees,
- 39:16Speaker 3: like looking down on the ground, and I saw somebody
- 39:19Speaker 3: post a picture next to the scene in episode three
- 39:23Speaker 3: and I said, oh, welcome back, Master Skywalker. Oh man.
- 39:35Speaker 3: But they eventually get back to Aton, they get down
- 39:42Speaker 3: to the planet, they get onto a platform that locks
- 39:48Speaker 3: them in. I think that is going to be very
- 39:51Speaker 3: important in the next episode because they zoomed in on
- 39:55Speaker 3: the clamps that captured the the actual ship. Travis is
- 40:02Speaker 3: actually bringing up something here. Uh he says, could be nothing.
- 40:05Speaker 3: But it's odd that Jod didn't step on the rat
- 40:08Speaker 3: that came out of his eye, simply nudging it aside.
- 40:12Speaker 3: I take that to imply that it has something to
- 40:14Speaker 3: do with reattaching its head his head. As far as
- 40:19Speaker 3: thirty three.
- 40:20Speaker 2: And I still think Jod has more bark than bite
- 40:26Speaker 2: simply because I mean we saw he didn't kill Fern
- 40:31Speaker 2: when he was aiming for the captaincy like at all.
- 40:34Speaker 2: He was like, give up now, I don't want to
- 40:37Speaker 2: hurt you, like I don't want to have to hurt
- 40:39Speaker 2: you so like even the Values Life.
- 40:42Speaker 3: Even in the because he said like, oh, what are
- 40:46Speaker 3: you guys gonna do? Like in this episode he's like,
- 40:49Speaker 3: are you all gonna attack me? Like what are you
- 40:51Speaker 3: gonna do? What are you gonna do like, I ultimately
- 40:56Speaker 3: think that this guy is just agree pirate and he
- 41:02Speaker 3: just wants the riches. That's all he wants, And I
- 41:07Speaker 3: ultimately think that that is going to be his downfall.
- 41:13Speaker 3: He's not thinking ahead right now. I don't think he is,
- 41:17Speaker 3: like genuinely because of he thinks that the way the
- 41:22Speaker 3: kids have really described the planet and the way he
- 41:28Speaker 3: reacts to these droids. He sees the vault, he sees
- 41:33Speaker 3: how much credits are there. He asked how many vibes?
- 41:38Speaker 2: Scene? It was shot? So well?
- 41:41Speaker 3: I love everything up to the point where the credits
- 41:45Speaker 3: are falling down.
- 41:47Speaker 2: Oh no, I love that part. Why didn't you like
- 41:50Speaker 2: that part?
- 41:50Speaker 3: I don't like it because you can tell that they
- 41:53Speaker 3: are fake. It's not real, Like you could have easily
- 41:58Speaker 3: just made a couple hundred props of that of what
- 42:04Speaker 3: the credits would be, and then you can, you know,
- 42:07Speaker 3: freaking add the audio and post like. You didn't have
- 42:11Speaker 3: to make them real metal. You could have made it
- 42:13Speaker 3: look like real metal or whatever it is for the
- 42:18Speaker 3: Republic credits, because at one point he's like putting his
- 42:22Speaker 3: like face into it and it just looks weird. It
- 42:25Speaker 3: doesn't look like it's actually touching his forehead and like
- 42:30Speaker 3: and stuff while it's falling down fair so that I
- 42:38Speaker 3: really did like the scene. Like it's also a scene
- 42:41Speaker 3: that you can very much tell like, oh, this is
- 42:43Speaker 3: in the volume, Like it's another one of those scenes.
- 42:46Speaker 3: But I still liked it. I still thought it looked good.
- 42:50Speaker 3: Travis also says it would be interesting to see if
- 42:52Speaker 3: Whim's father, who thinks John is a Jedi, the stories
- 42:58Speaker 3: passed to the children being the parents grew up on
- 43:01Speaker 3: John thinking of his parents and the good and the
- 43:05Speaker 3: good that they saw in him. I think it's gonna
- 43:10Speaker 3: be a very interesting because I honestly thought that Fern
- 43:15Speaker 3: was going to open her big mouth and just tell
- 43:18Speaker 3: her mom, Hey, he's not a good guy. He's not
- 43:21Speaker 3: a good guy. Let's get out of here. Let's get
- 43:22Speaker 3: out of here. Like I thought there was going to
- 43:24Speaker 3: be some inclination.
- 43:26Speaker 2: Yeah, that because it's interesting. And there's one more thing
- 43:32Speaker 2: we need to talk about from the hologram, by the way,
- 43:34Speaker 2: that I just remembered about Whim's father saying like you
- 43:42Speaker 2: weren't supposed to find out about this until you graduated.
- 43:44Speaker 2: We got to talk about that. Oh crap, I lost
- 43:50Speaker 2: my train of thought, what did you say? First? I'm sorry, well.
- 43:54Speaker 3: I was just saying how like Fern, Like I thought
- 43:56Speaker 3: Fern was going to say something as far as like hey,
- 44:00Speaker 3: he's a bad person, like because eventually when he is
- 44:03Speaker 3: starting to look at the vault and see all the credits, yeah,
- 44:05Speaker 3: you see the parents, you know, get into their little
- 44:09Speaker 3: harveocraft and get down to them and they all start
- 44:12Speaker 3: hugging and stuff, and like Fern looks like she's about
- 44:15Speaker 3: to say something, but then you see Jod he pulls
- 44:18Speaker 3: out the lightsaber and he ignites it and that's boom
- 44:23Speaker 3: in credits.
- 44:24Speaker 2: Yes, So with that, I find it interesting that the
- 44:28Speaker 2: security droids because you would you would think, because the
- 44:36Speaker 2: hologram message talks about finding a Republic emissary, but don't
- 44:41Speaker 2: wouldn't the safety droids, the security droids know at least
- 44:44Speaker 2: that a war had happened, and like maybe they're that
- 44:48Speaker 2: a Republic emissary isn't actually coming.
- 44:52Speaker 3: I would say, more so aren't there protocols?
- 44:57Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 44:59Speaker 3: Like that. That's the one thing that worries me is
- 45:01Speaker 3: the fact that this droid did not have like some
- 45:05Speaker 3: sort of like code word or like any type of
- 45:08Speaker 3: like hey, you need to you know, say this for
- 45:11Speaker 3: authorization for this, like there was none of that. It
- 45:13Speaker 3: was just like, oh, you have the ship, let's get
- 45:16Speaker 3: this credits going, and let's go.
- 45:19Speaker 2: And maybe that's the assumption though, is that because they
- 45:22Speaker 2: came down in a ship that like Autumn's, and if
- 45:27Speaker 2: they didn't have the ship, then they weren't properly authorized
- 45:30Speaker 2: and would have gotten eaten by the barrier. And we're
- 45:33Speaker 2: about to jump into our third ad, y'all. We promise
- 45:37Speaker 2: we'll be right back, We promise.
- 45:40Speaker 3: Travis also says, I like the idea that Jod changes
- 45:44Speaker 3: his heart and fights back, becoming a hero to the planet.
- 45:48Speaker 3: Well the kids know he's still a fraud. That would
- 45:52Speaker 3: be interesting. I'm not entirely sure how that plays out,
- 45:59Speaker 3: especially like in the sense of what do you mean fights.
- 46:04Speaker 2: Back like against the pirates.
- 46:07Speaker 3: Maybe, but the pirates can't make it onto the planet,
- 46:10Speaker 3: like that's the only thing unless they find a way.
- 46:14Speaker 3: They also, I will say they were also listening in
- 46:18Speaker 3: on that transmission. If they go find one last surviving
- 46:24Speaker 3: Republic emissary, you know, yeah, maybe that could be something
- 46:28Speaker 3: in the season two. He also says the security droids
- 46:33Speaker 3: not reacting to him touching all the credits and igniting
- 46:36Speaker 3: a weapon also seems a little off.
- 46:38Speaker 2: I we haven't seen the reaction to them him igniting
- 46:44Speaker 2: the weapon.
- 46:48Speaker 3: I legit thought like when he was gonna touch one
- 46:51Speaker 3: of the credits, I thought one of the droids was
- 46:52Speaker 3: going to be like, oh, that's not permitted, or like
- 46:55Speaker 3: something that I thought there was gonna be some sort
- 46:58Speaker 3: of like warning sign of like hey, like don't do that,
- 47:03Speaker 3: you know, because you you can be a banker, but
- 47:06Speaker 3: you can't go to a vault and just start diving
- 47:09Speaker 3: into the freaking polls of coins. You know, this isn't
- 47:12Speaker 3: freaking Uncle Scrooge here. But yeah, like I thought some
- 47:18Speaker 3: things were a little off, but I think it's there
- 47:22Speaker 3: also it's it's also yeah exactly. I think all of
- 47:27Speaker 3: this is on purpose. I think that we are meant
- 47:30Speaker 3: to be wondering, hey, what is going on? That does
- 47:35Speaker 3: leave us with a last piece of news. We did
- 47:39Speaker 3: actually hear the supervisor in this episode. Yeah, the supervisor
- 47:45Speaker 3: was actually voiced by Stephen Fry. Question do you think
- 47:51Speaker 3: Stephen Fry is the actual supervisor?
- 47:55Speaker 2: Though probably not, because I feel like that's just a
- 48:06Speaker 2: recording that automatically emanates.
- 48:10Speaker 3: I think the same thing.
- 48:12Speaker 2: A ship comes down.
- 48:14Speaker 3: Mm hmm, I think the exact same thing. Now I
- 48:23Speaker 3: don't want. What I don't want is the uh I
- 48:32Speaker 3: don't want the first theory that everybody was coming up with, Oh,
- 48:36Speaker 3: the droids are actually the Skeleton crew and like there's
- 48:40Speaker 3: actually no supervisor, and like I would hate that. I
- 48:42Speaker 3: would one hundred that because then there's no I feel
- 48:46Speaker 3: like there's no conclusion at that point. It's just like, ah, look,
- 48:49Speaker 3: you know here we are.
- 48:51Speaker 6: We need it.
- 48:52Speaker 3: Why this was.
- 48:54Speaker 2: Like, yeah, we need an explanation, and the droids are
- 48:59Speaker 2: going to give that, not at least without a passphrase.
- 49:02Speaker 2: And I mean, Ferne's mom is the highest ranking person
- 49:09Speaker 2: that we've seen so far, and if she doesn't even
- 49:13Speaker 2: know or have an idea as to like why transportation
- 49:18Speaker 2: outside barrier is allowed, or not even allowing them to
- 49:22Speaker 2: contact the Republic to let them know, Hey, a ship
- 49:26Speaker 2: got out, we're missing kids kind of thing.
- 49:28Speaker 3: I swear to God, if I see Luke Skywalker in
- 49:31Speaker 3: this finale, I'm gonna throw a chair.
- 49:35Speaker 2: What if it's just in the background in like a
- 49:37Speaker 2: Republic meeting.
- 49:39Speaker 3: I don't care. If I see Luke Skywalker, I'm throwing
- 49:44Speaker 3: a chair through my window. I don't need it now.
- 49:49Speaker 3: I will say this. If I see a Jedi counsel
- 49:58Speaker 3: in a hologram showing like Vernestra and the High Republic Council,
- 50:08Speaker 3: I'm all for it. Oh, I'm all for it. I
- 50:11Speaker 3: am a hundred Like that is some meat and potatoes there.
- 50:15Speaker 3: That is like, oh, like that is awesome.
- 50:18Speaker 2: But why would you see that Jedi council.
- 50:22Speaker 3: If well, you're right, it wouldn't be that Jedi Council
- 50:27Speaker 3: necessarily because again we are not finished with the High
- 50:31Speaker 3: Republic Phase three. We don't know how it ends, so
- 50:35Speaker 3: let's just put that out there. But if it's the
- 50:38Speaker 3: Jedi Council and like Vernestra is an attendance of the meeting,
- 50:43Speaker 3: m M, you know, like you could very much see
- 50:47Speaker 3: like the I could very much see there being a
- 50:50Speaker 3: like hologram and you just see a little green alien
- 50:55Speaker 3: girl with long hair and us being like, oh, that's Vernestra.
- 50:59Speaker 3: Like I could totally see that happening. Travis mentions, uh,
- 51:06Speaker 3: the job redemption works best if he dies. As for
- 51:10Speaker 3: the Barrier, I could see him giving the New Republic
- 51:15Speaker 3: the directions to at Aten and how to get into
- 51:20Speaker 3: and through the barrier.
- 51:22Speaker 2: That's interesting.
- 51:23Speaker 3: I don't know if she knows how to get.
- 51:25Speaker 2: Through the barrier, especially because the coordinates that she pulled
- 51:28Speaker 2: up were to the other planet, So I mean, obviously
- 51:34Speaker 2: she had references that she used, Like I feel like
- 51:39Speaker 2: that planet.
- 51:41Speaker 3: I do feel like she would be resourceful enough. Yeah, like, hey,
- 51:47Speaker 3: let's follow these breadcrumbs and kind of follow the same
- 51:50Speaker 3: path that they took and then eventually get to add at. Yeah,
- 51:56Speaker 3: but it's gonna be interesting to see how it all
- 52:01Speaker 3: is laid out because we have now seen.
- 52:07Speaker 2: Oh that's true, Kim does how or KB does have
- 52:10Speaker 2: Kim's information.
- 52:13Speaker 3: Oh that's true. I forgot about that. Yeah, yeah, it's true.
- 52:22Speaker 3: Very nice pool. Yeah, because I was gonna say, we've
- 52:27Speaker 3: seen X Wings twice and we've barely had any actual
- 52:31Speaker 3: interaction with them. The only thing we've seen is them
- 52:34Speaker 3: talk to Kim, and you know that very stereotypical ending
- 52:39Speaker 3: of like even if I told you, you wouldn't believe me,
- 52:45Speaker 3: like it that is what it is. We've already talked
- 52:48Speaker 3: about that. But like, I'm gonna be very interested to
- 52:53Speaker 3: see how this all plays out. Because let's go back
- 52:58Speaker 3: to the point that you wanted to talk about about
- 53:02Speaker 3: Whim's father mentions at the very end or at the
- 53:07Speaker 3: very beginning of his portion of the transmission. I wish
- 53:14Speaker 3: you could have known this a little sooner, but you
- 53:16Speaker 3: weren't supposed to know about this until you graduated, until
- 53:21Speaker 3: you're old enough basically, so that means that I would
- 53:30Speaker 3: say the majority of that Atten probably knows about the barrier, yes.
- 53:40Speaker 2: Or knows what at Aten's true purpose is, because.
- 53:50Speaker 3: I don't know. But even that feels a little off.
- 53:54Speaker 2: I don't know, I feel like hiding your treasury. I mean,
- 53:57Speaker 2: like we know where the US government treasury is, Like.
- 54:02Speaker 3: Well yes, but like in my mind, in this fantastical
- 54:10Speaker 3: galaxy where and and maybe ships just aren't readily available,
- 54:18Speaker 3: wouldn't there be like a large amount of people that
- 54:21Speaker 3: are just like I don't want to be here, Like
- 54:25Speaker 3: why can't why can't we leave? Like I don't know,
- 54:29Speaker 3: like unless security on at at And is really that
- 54:34Speaker 3: top notch, I don't know. It's just this is a
- 54:41Speaker 3: brand new planet. It's very off secrets are going to
- 54:45Speaker 3: be revealed. But I do find it very interesting now
- 54:53Speaker 3: that more doors are opening and revealing secrets of like, hey,
- 54:58Speaker 3: you know, majority of that, Like it's it's almost like
- 55:02Speaker 3: this like, hey, we know our place type thing, and
- 55:05Speaker 3: that feels a little off to me, Like that's like.
- 55:09Speaker 2: I really don't know why the whole planet would know
- 55:13Speaker 2: and not be able to get off unless they truly
- 55:17Speaker 2: just took all the ships off planet. It's just weird.
- 55:23Speaker 2: Trava said, I would like to see a young Weed's
- 55:25Speaker 2: show up with Rogue Squadron. That would be awesome. So Travis, actually,
- 55:29Speaker 2: Rogue Squadron was retired after Return of the Jedi, and
- 55:36Speaker 2: that name is no longer used at least from what
- 55:39Speaker 2: we know based on the books and everything. And Wedge
- 55:43Speaker 2: actually ends up retiring to teach fighter pilots with his
- 55:49Speaker 2: wife and stepson on a planet, and that is courtesy
- 55:53Speaker 2: of the Aftermath trilogy. Yeh, he should not be showing up.
- 56:00Speaker 2: But you know, this is also Disney, so.
- 56:02Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, the books are cannon until they're not. You know,
- 56:12Speaker 3: I will again like the idea of this being a
- 56:17Speaker 3: planet where all of the Republic credits are basically manufactured.
- 56:25Speaker 3: Maybe it was a signed ordeal throughout the galaxy, like hey,
- 56:32Speaker 3: if you live here, just know you will never see
- 56:37Speaker 3: the light of the galaxy.
- 56:38Speaker 2: Again, That's what I'm curious to see, Like what the
- 56:46Speaker 2: commitment would have been, Like, who had them make the
- 56:49Speaker 2: commitment to continue to fund the Republic and everything while
- 57:00Speaker 2: away from Earth the galaxy, Because that just doesn't make
- 57:02Speaker 2: sense to me, Like you would, yes, you want to
- 57:04Speaker 2: hide your treasure, but also like, well, because.
- 57:08Speaker 3: Like we again mentioning high Republic, you're like, Okay, the
- 57:14Speaker 3: biggest enemies of the entire galaxy were once called the Nihill,
- 57:18Speaker 3: which were a group of pirates. This is where we're
- 57:21Speaker 3: going to be manufacturing Republic credits. Hey, let's prevent piracy
- 57:28Speaker 3: from ever getting a hold of the galaxy's currency. Yeah,
- 57:36Speaker 3: and implementing this like I could see it being a thing.
- 57:40Speaker 3: Is it the greatest decision ever? Clearly not, But like, hey,
- 57:48Speaker 3: we have seen the Galaxy of Star Wars and the
- 57:55Speaker 3: Galaxy's politics go wrong in this franchise once before, Like
- 58:02Speaker 3: we can see it happening again. Travis also says I
- 58:07Speaker 3: could see the show ending with the kids going to
- 58:11Speaker 3: Chandrilla as representatives to the new Republic.
- 58:15Speaker 2: Like maybe taking over the emissary positions.
- 58:18Speaker 3: Yeah. Maybe. Leah in mon Mathma sees the lightsaber and
- 58:23Speaker 3: says she knows someone who would be interested. Well that
- 58:29Speaker 3: kind of feeds into Katie's idea, like if they get
- 58:34Speaker 3: a hold of this individual job, or if they get
- 58:40Speaker 3: a rumor started, because remember, if you read the Empire,
- 58:45Speaker 3: the rumors were bustling around Luke. Oh there's this there's
- 58:51Speaker 3: this other Jedi out there and he's you know, creating
- 58:54Speaker 3: miracles and helping people and all these other things, and
- 58:57Speaker 3: that's what got Luke to even reach out and find
- 59:02Speaker 3: that other Jedi quote unquote. Yeah, so maybe maybe Katie's
- 59:08Speaker 3: onto something. Maybe well maybe Travis and Katie are both
- 59:14Speaker 3: kind of, you know, creating this scenario of which like, oh,
- 59:20Speaker 3: we hear that you guys are in trouble. We're going
- 59:23Speaker 3: to come to at and make sure everything's okay, make
- 59:27Speaker 3: sure that our currency throughout the galaxy is okay. Oh wait,
- 59:32Speaker 3: you say somebody with a lightsaber. That's interesting. Maybe I
- 59:35Speaker 3: should go talk to Luke Skywalker and then boom, there's
- 59:39Speaker 3: your first steps into Dave Felloni's movie. Yeah. Yeah, I
- 59:45Speaker 3: actually like that. I think that makes a whole lot
- 59:47Speaker 3: of sense.
- 59:50Speaker 2: I think we're definitely getting a Soca season two before
- 59:53Speaker 2: that movie, So it'll be interesting to see how they
- 1:00:00Speaker 2: tie everything in Maybe Island has a way to travel
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: to distant galaxies.
- 1:00:09Speaker 3: I don't know, a you know, maybe just maybe we
- 1:00:16Speaker 3: will see a connection to the world between worlds. Yeah,
- 1:00:23Speaker 3: you know, who knows? But yeah, I think this This
- 1:00:29Speaker 3: was a very fitting penultimate episode for season one. One
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: last word from Travis here he says Laura Santeca or
- 1:00:40Speaker 3: someone in his clan appearing could also make sense with
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: all the star maps stuff we talked. We talked about
- 1:00:48Speaker 3: this very early on in the season. Either a Santaica
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: or a or a graph being implemented into this show
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: would be very, very exciting. But we shall see. But yeah,
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: this was a very fitting penultimate episode. We have one
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: more episode left and then really we don't have anything
- 1:01:19Speaker 3: until and or in April, until land or in April,
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: there we go. I was kinda I was like, oh crap,
- 1:01:27Speaker 3: I don't even know when that's dropping. Actually, But also
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: in April we have Star Wars celebration, so we're gonna
- 1:01:36Speaker 3: have a lot of news coming out in the next
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: well when that drops, really we won't have it. We
- 1:01:43Speaker 3: will probably be crickets until celebration drops, because they're gonna
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: want to hold everything until celebration. So just be you know,
- 1:01:54Speaker 3: patient with all of the Star Wars news. Of course,
- 1:01:57Speaker 3: we will still be reviewing all of the comics as
- 1:02:01Speaker 3: the trades come out, as well as the books. Now, Katie,
- 1:02:06Speaker 3: remind me when's the next High Republic novel we're supposed
- 1:02:11Speaker 3: to be talking about, because.
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: April is it?
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: Also in April? My god, jeez, Louise.
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: No, Okay, so you don't understand how much shit is
- 1:02:22Speaker 2: dumping in April and May.
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: Okay.
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: I mapped out all of the releases for the books
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: and everything. Okay, so we have April first, High Republic
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: Into the Light, April eighth, High Republic Edge of Balance Premonition,
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: Higher Republic Adventures on April fifteenth, the Echoes of Fear Trade,
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: April twenty second, the Higher Republic Edge of Balance Volume four,
- 1:02:54Speaker 2: twenty second, High Republic Adventures Crash Down Trade, and then
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: May sixth we have a Valiant Vow and the Acolyte
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: Weight Seeker, and then uh, the Art of the Star Wars,
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: the Higher Republic Volume two, and the Tempest Breaker script release.
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: Those are those are the Higher Republic era of things happening.
- 1:03:19Speaker 2: But April is a big month for Higher Public stuff,
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: like we get the Higher Republic Annual and the Higher
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: Republic Adventures Volume two and the Higher Republican Adventures Sabers
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: for Hire this month, and then we don't hear a
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: peep from the High Republic until April.
- 1:03:39Speaker 3: So cheez Louise.
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: But it's almost done, not ready for it to be done.
- 1:03:47Speaker 3: It's going to be a very bitter sweet ending for us.
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: It kind of, of course started my Star Wars Alliance
- 1:04:00Speaker 3: journey really into the Star Wars fandom, so it's going
- 1:04:03Speaker 3: to be very interesting how this all comes to a head.
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: Travis also wants to say I want a new Aftermath
- 1:04:11Speaker 3: trilogy set after Rise of Skywalker with Wedge, Norah and
- 1:04:16Speaker 3: the rest of the crew coming back together after Timmans's death.
- 1:04:20Speaker 3: Wishful thinking though, So all right, well that is it
- 1:04:27Speaker 3: for this episode. Of course, you can always find me
- 1:04:31Speaker 3: at Fanboy Clay. I am trying to be more active
- 1:04:35Speaker 3: on Threads and Blue Sky. Blue Sky is where I'm
- 1:04:41Speaker 3: going to be more active in stuff that I do
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: with my job, so a lot of comic book talk
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: over there. Threads will be kind of where I just
- 1:04:49Speaker 3: kind of hang out and do whatever. Yes, Travis, thank
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: you so much for being here. He says fun Stream
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: have a wizard night, guys you If you guys haven't heard,
- 1:05:04Speaker 3: Ranger Alliance has officially come back in the new year
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: of twenty twenty five. We have shifted into a perspective
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: of the Super Senti of course, that is where Power
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: Rangers took the concept. So we are watching the Super
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: Sinti currently, and we'll be also talking about the anime
- 1:05:29Speaker 3: of Sinti Esque that is coming out in literally a
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: couple of days, and the new season of Super Senti
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: is actually coming out later this year. We wanted to
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: talk more about more modern relevant content rather than going
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: back thirty years and talking about really old, not very
- 1:05:54Speaker 3: well written content, and we were mainly just making fun
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: of the show rather than critique the show. So yeah,
- 1:06:03Speaker 3: we're having a lot of fun over at Ranger Alliance.
- 1:06:06Speaker 3: Go check us out. I will go ahead and set
- 1:06:09Speaker 3: up the disclaimer. We have reviewed some stuff in advance,
- 1:06:13Speaker 3: so currently we have recorded four episodes in advance and
- 1:06:19Speaker 3: we are going to try to stay ahead of that.
- 1:06:22Speaker 3: So for this new anime that we are gonna be reviewing,
- 1:06:27Speaker 3: you probably won't hear it until March, but that is
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: because Jake myself and Joe are very very busy people,
- 1:06:37Speaker 3: and we have to kind of shoehorn some recordings in
- 1:06:40Speaker 3: uh and in the new season of Since I that
- 1:06:44Speaker 3: We Were that we started in it was already on
- 1:06:47Speaker 3: its last few episodes, so it is having a total
- 1:06:52Speaker 3: of forty eight episodes. We're starting from episode one, so
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: it's gonna be a while until we eventually catch up,
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: but I think we will. But yeah, just enjoy it
- 1:07:02Speaker 3: while it's there. We are having a lot of fun
- 1:07:05Speaker 3: with it. But Katie, what about you? Y'all?
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: You can find me on most social media platforms. Class
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: for Katie. I promise I still have it on my desktop.
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: I had the gua message chat up today, so I
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: do see things. So I just might take a hot
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: minute to get back to you. So this show you
- 1:07:30Speaker 2: can find on Twitter. It's at stars lines about the
- 1:07:33Speaker 2: A and the war is very important. Don't forget it. Also,
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: you can shoot us, text or leave us a voicemail

- 1:07:48Speaker 2: my head. I will charge my headphones after this, I promise. Sorry,
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: it's shouting at me like every thirty seconds, Like, charge
- 1:07:55Speaker 2: your headphones.
- 1:07:55Speaker 7: Somebody sorry, are y'all and you can also email us
