Transcript
- 0:00Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Money Loyalty Legacy.
- 0:02My name is Matt and normally the champ would chime in right now,
- 0:07but he is not here today. He had to go back for work, but
- 0:09we are here with everyone's favorite guest.
- 0:13You might know him from his book.
- 0:15You might know him for his charming personality.
- 0:17You might know him from being the best talker on social media
- 0:23and the uncrowned king of the true crime genre on the
- 0:27Internet, Mr. Jean Barello. What's up, brother?
- 0:31What's going on? How are you, man?
- 0:32Good, man. Good, Good, good.
- 0:34So I see you've been doing these shows.
- 0:36A lot of people have been asking about this TV show, right?
- 0:39Yeah. A lot of them have been asking
- 0:40you questions that you're kind of like, I'm not really sure how
- 0:43to answer this, right? Yeah.
- 0:45So Matthew Cox and everybody else that was asking about these
- 0:48shows, the TV series and everything like that, If you
- 0:52don't work in Hollywood, it's kind of hard to answer these
- 0:55questions just because there's so much that goes into it.
- 0:58All the fans out there, everybody on YouTube, everybody
- 1:00asked me, Gene, when's your show come out?
- 1:01Gene's with this. Nah, blah, blah.
- 1:03Let me tell you guys something. To do a real show, a real TV
- 1:07series, it takes a lot of time and a lot of money, and there's
- 1:11a lot that goes into development of stuff.
- 1:13Right now, Gene doesn't want to do some graves.
- 1:17And trash, right? And it costs a lot of money to
- 1:21to get a series together and to get investors or a major studio
- 1:25involved with something like that.
- 1:26It's time, you know what I mean? Like, it's not something that
- 1:28happens overnight. But let me tell you something.
- 1:31I can't say the name of anything, but we got one of the
- 1:33biggest guys from one the biggest production companies in
- 1:35the world. No, I can't.
- 1:38I can't put I told my wife I. Wish we could because it really
- 1:40make them be like. You can't.
- 1:42Yeah, keep The thing is, yeah, no.
- 1:44Well, for No 100. Yeah, they go like this.
- 1:48No, no, yeah. It's legit.
- 1:53I mean, I'm, I'm just being real.
- 1:54We're being honest right now, like about, you know, things
- 1:57that things are really happening.
- 1:58It's a long process, right? I spent this entire year talking
- 2:01to people about this, going over the script, doing everything to
- 2:03make it look right, right. We're not trying to do some
- 2:06like, you know, like I said, Gravesend or any of that other
- 2:09lower class. It's a long process.
- 2:11A lot goes into it. So everybody's questioning it's
- 2:13going to happen. Trust me.
- 2:15You don't know why, but you can check my credentials.
- 2:18Like I really do do do this. And I've been doing this for 18
- 2:20years professionally. And at the end of the day,
- 2:23people are like, oh, you know what?
- 2:25Whatever you think about Gene, at the end of the day, he's
- 2:28entertaining. Whether you don't like him or
- 2:30whether you like him, you he has your attention and and he's got
- 2:34that it factor and his story is definitely something that the
- 2:37world wants to see again. There's been no guys out there
- 2:42that have even put brought to light the new age of the mafia.
- 2:47He's the only person there's he's the only guy from the
- 2:49younger generation. That's why people find him so
- 2:51interesting. That's why I when I saw him on,
- 2:55he was on flag with John years ago, right?
- 2:58I was like. 20 Jan February of 2020 I was home for 90 days.
- 3:02Not even, not even not even 90 days.
- 3:04Sorry, right, 50 something days. Yeah, and, and you came on there
- 3:09and I was like, who the fuck is this young guy?
- 3:10You know what I mean? Like right, I'm sure.
- 3:12Even I look horrible. I'm like, I hate that, you know?
- 3:15I told John, I says bro, I can't believe I said.
- 3:17I didn't realize how bad I look there compared to how I look
- 3:19now. They look like a different my
- 3:21girlfriend goes. You look like a different
- 3:22person. You look like the same person.
- 3:24No, not at all. No, not at all.
- 3:26You waste, but you were just what?
- 3:28Fresh out of jail. As a whole, out of solitary,
- 3:30yeah, it sounds like a fireman. If anyone knows that is.
- 3:33You weren't, so you weren't able to eat like you wanted to.
- 3:35Three meals a day. The last time you eat at 4:00,
- 3:38you don't eat again till 6:00 in the morning.
- 3:39No sunlight at all. Because in the feds, there's no
- 3:42yard, right? It's just another gate, you
- 3:44know? And so that's where I was for
- 3:45the last 90 days. Yeah, on that bit, you know.
- 3:48And also you weren't like you. You weren't displayed your
- 3:51magnetic personality, your charm on it.
- 3:53You look, tell you're nervous. Right.
- 3:55Well, I couldn't because Johnny, Johnny brought me into the game
- 3:58obviously. And I'm saying, and I was just
- 3:59following him, right. So they told me where the suits.
- 4:02At first it was like, wear suits, wear this, wear that.
- 4:04And I'm like, bro, Johnny, he's not my thing.
- 4:05He's like, come on, this is the 80s.
- 4:08We weren't wearing this. So when I started, when I got on
- 4:10for live TV and I like I said, I told this many times before, I
- 4:14had no idea what that was. I really didn't know what
- 4:16YouTube was. I just did six years.
- 4:18I didn't know anything about that stuff before I was in the
- 4:20street as a mob guy. Ronnie G won't let us have no
- 4:23social media. Weren't allowed to, right?
- 4:24Weren't allowed to post Mike Palmation almost got killed for
- 4:26posting the picture. So nobody's allowed to do that.
- 4:29So when I came out of prison, remind you, I went in a gangster
- 4:33came out of cooperating, you know what I'm saying?
- 4:34So I didn't know anything else but that gangster life.
- 4:37So when I came out, Johnny Eli's like, no, you got to wear a
- 4:40suit. I'm like, I never want a suit,
- 4:41you know what I'm saying? I'm like, bro, I So I went on
- 4:44there with him. I wore a suit.
- 4:46And I'm like, this ain't me, you know?
- 4:47So I started getting phone calls.
- 4:49And then I'm like, listen, Johnny, I'm not doing the suit
- 4:51thing we got to have. I say, I think it's good if I
- 4:53dress how I dress and you dress how you dress because you're a
- 4:5580s guy. I'm a 2000s guy.
- 4:58And sure enough, it was like the perfect storm.
- 5:00Yeah. Everybody loved it.
- 5:01He's giving his stories. I'm giving mine.
- 5:03We know the same people, just different eras.
- 5:05And then you know it blew up. You know what I mean?
- 5:07Absolutely, yeah. And The thing is though, anybody
- 5:10that's questioning the TV series or anything like that, like
- 5:13Gina's evolved a lot like on the Internet over the years, you
- 5:16know what I'm saying? Like a lot of people don't know
- 5:18you for like how you really are, you know what I mean?
- 5:20We talk a lot and like we never talk.
- 5:22We're not talking about crimes or anything like that, like the
- 5:25mob and all that. Like people want to say it's
- 5:28like glorifying the life or something like that, but it's
- 5:30not glorifying it. It's telling true stories that
- 5:34happened and people find it interesting.
- 5:36Jeffrey Dahmer is a TV series out there, That guy.
- 5:39Was absolutely disgusting, right?
- 5:41You know, watch it. Right.
- 5:42So it's like, it's not, it's, it's, it's not glorifying, but
- 5:45it is a reality, you know, I'm saying.
- 5:47And the end of the day, you learned a lot from it.
- 5:50You know, I mean, you're fortunate enough to be out here
- 5:52right now and should be doing life right now, right?
- 5:54Well, I was just telling that before the thing started, but my
- 5:57end, I'm saying my end game was prison walls.
- 5:59You know what I'm saying? If I didn't do what I did, you
- 6:01know, my end game was, you know, the same ending for everybody.
- 6:04You know, I was doing crimes that carried lots of time.
- 6:06I wasn't out there just saying, Oh, I'm a makeup right, I'm
- 6:09saying no, who's doing violent crimes?
- 6:10And with my record, you know, that's in you know, that's in 30
- 6:13year sentence, 40 year sentence, you know what I mean?
- 6:15So you know, at the end of the day, people, you know, a lot of
- 6:17people that you know, stole that life is so mad because they
- 6:20thought a lot of people thought I was gonna come home and just
- 6:22live under a rock, right. But the most people that really
- 6:25knew me like that, I grew up like this kids not hiding this
- 6:27kids gonna be he's going to be outspoken because as soon as I
- 6:30came home, like second day, I was on Instagram starting right.
- 6:34I heard you were saying something.
- 6:35I heard you had something to say.
- 6:36You did. All right.
- 6:37So I was already and then I was getting phone calls from the
- 6:39prosecutor like within the first week.
- 6:40They're like, bro, you starting already?
- 6:42We're hearing. I'm like, no, they're like, we
- 6:44know everything. You're starting already.
- 6:46I was a guy and I just, you know, slowly, but shortly when I
- 6:49got into the podcast world, it gave me something to do because
- 6:52if I think I didn't have the podcast world, I probably would
- 6:55have been going after people. I say he's shooting a stab and
- 6:57I'm trying to get, you know, things that people that were
- 7:00talking about me miles away, right, that I know were about
- 7:03nothing and never did nothing in their lives.
- 7:04So I think the podcast stuff kind of calmed me down and made
- 7:09me who I am now, you know, I'm getting into this entertainment
- 7:11world, which I really love, you know what I mean?
- 7:13It's so it kind of changed me in a way.
- 7:15I think I'd be serving a real sentence again if it wasn't for
- 7:18the podcast. Yeah, you have something to do
- 7:20too. The book.
- 7:21No, hit in the book. And The thing is like your
- 7:23personality. You have the personality for
- 7:25somebody in entertainment world, like a lot of people, people
- 7:27will see you on one of these other platforms or something
- 7:30like that. Yeah, and they'll see you like
- 7:31going off on somebody or going something like that.
- 7:34But in real life, you're not like going beefing with people
- 7:38like all the time in real like I'm trying to convey to people
- 7:40like off camera, like when you're just talking people and
- 7:42you would never know that you're ever even a mob guy unless
- 7:45they're you know, I. Don't look the pot like you met
- 7:47my friend Anthony. He looks the pot.
- 7:48Yeah, he looks the pot. If you see me, he looks like
- 7:50he's running a movie. I don't look the pot, right, You
- 7:53know what I'm saying? I don't.
- 7:54I didn't. I didn't have that look, you
- 7:56know what I'm saying? I was tall, skinny growing up.
- 7:57I was a very skinny guy. Yeah, you know what I mean?
- 7:59I got bigger when I got older, so I never looked the pot that I
- 8:02was. You know what I mean?
- 8:02Yeah. Like I said, you know, I'm happy
- 8:04the way I am now. Yeah.
- 8:06I mean, it's a much more relaxing life.
- 8:08I mean, you know, and what I wanted to say also we got to a
- 8:11different subject is about the TV show.
- 8:14A lot of people do believe it that it's going to happen.
- 8:16But a lot of people, what they don't believe is the level that
- 8:19we're trying to make it. I think they think it's just
- 8:21going to be like always going to film a pilot and who knows if
- 8:24it's going to get picked up because that's what happens a
- 8:26lot, you know what I'm trying to say.
- 8:27So like, if we wanted to do it, Erin, listen, if we wanted to do
- 8:30it rinky dinky, we could do it tomorrow.
- 8:32We could do it tomorrow, get a little regular show.
- 8:34But the level that we're trying to do it on is a Sopranos level,
- 8:38is a ghost level, is something like that level.
- 8:42We're working with huge names, huge people, and it's going to
- 8:45be something really epic, and not because of who I was.
- 8:47It's because nobody has what I have.
- 8:49Who the else can give you a modern day story of the most
- 8:51glorified mafia neighborhood in the country, Howard Beach,
- 8:54Queens. At the end of the day, the most
- 8:56glorified known organized crime neighborhood in the country, in
- 9:00the country is Howard Beach, Queens.
- 9:03That's a known thing. So at the end of the day, nobody
- 9:06has what I have for my generation and that's why I'm
- 9:08here today. That's why I'm still the most
- 9:11viewed X mob guy in the world. Let's go there.
- 9:15Mike Francis and Sammy's the only one that gets more views
- 9:17than me. Do you know that?
- 9:18Look at the competition I'm going up against, by the way.
- 9:21So if you take them out the equation, who's the top dog?
- 9:23Me. I go on a podcast and talk about
- 9:26taking AI, get 50,000 views. You know, I'm saying think about
- 9:30it. I know it gets people mad.
- 9:31Guys try so hard to get a view. It's so hard.
- 9:34You get guys go on, they can't get a view.
- 9:36I could go on and just throw Lolly Lolly Law and get more
- 9:39views than you tried for a year and just me joking around.
- 9:41So it's gonna irk people, you know, I'm saying that comes to
- 9:44talking and that's where it all comes in.
- 9:46But at the end of the day, you got to stand.
- 9:48I have the IT factor like I was told by actors, I was told by
- 9:52you by a lot of people, actor, stuntman, guys that work with
- 9:56live people don't even know the things that you are a part of.
- 9:58You know what I'm saying? So it's it's the fact that my
- 10:01friend Dominic from Tulsa Kings, who who's a really cool guy and
- 10:06I, I'm going to have him play Ronnie Jean.
- 10:08I'm going to say that open to the counter.
- 10:09He's going to play Ronnie. Right.
- 10:11And I, I, I want to also tell people something as well in the
- 10:16entertainment industry, right? When you have a project, you
- 10:21take it to a major studio. These major studios have other
- 10:24$100 million projects they're already have, they're already
- 10:27working on, you know what I mean?
- 10:29So even though Gene story is unique and awesome, they, he's
- 10:33still, he's competing with Batman, Superman and like these
- 10:37other things, you know what I mean?
- 10:38But but the thing that at the end of the day, if they weren't
- 10:41interested in it, the show wouldn't be in the.
- 10:43I wish you were allowed to say. I wish you were allowed to say
- 10:46the person that literally read my book.
- 10:47Yeah, read my book. Watch our podcast together, all
- 10:51three of them, which this guy like when it does come out and
- 10:54eventually we could say it and then you all shut the up this
- 10:57and can't lie about this. Obviously you can't even get in
- 11:00touch with this guy. He wouldn't even to get him to
- 11:03answer an e-mail just to get a meeting.
- 11:05How long it take for you to get a Zoomer?
- 11:063 three weeks, 3 weeks just to get in front of him for 40
- 11:08minutes. And The thing is, he wouldn't
- 11:09even take a meeting if he if he if he didn't think that there
- 11:13was any money in the story and the script that we have, he's
- 11:17not going to even take him, right?
- 11:18He's not going to waste his time, right?
- 11:20You know what I mean? An hour and a half to this guy
- 11:22is a lot of money. Created some of the biggest
- 11:24shows and TV part of huge movies.
- 11:26Whatever the case may be, like I said, if it does crack off with
- 11:28this person, I We will get whatever we want for our show.
- 11:32It'll be huge and it'll be a huge thing.
- 11:34Like I said, if me and him wanted to do it tomorrow or
- 11:36other people, we can. But we're trying to focus on the
- 11:39big dog and he wants to be a part of it his self, his self.
- 11:43He reached out to us basically. So I wish we could say his name,
- 11:47but eventually we were able to. But then it'll just be on TV, on
- 11:50TMZ that we just signed a huge deal.
- 11:52So there you. Go.
- 11:53It's a long process, but it's legit.
- 11:55You can take your time and do it the right way, or you can throw
- 11:58some together and do it the wrong way.
- 12:00Right. And if you guys actually anybody
- 12:02that's read, read the book or watched any of his podcast, you
- 12:05know all the action, all the crazy this dude did right now,
- 12:09imagine that being re enacted on I'm telling.
- 12:12It's only 10% of it in my book, right.
- 12:14And remember, 110 pages taken out of my book.
- 12:16Yeah. So you only get in about 20% of
- 12:18the book, right. It took out so much stuff out of
- 12:20because this lady mangled the book on me and lo and you know,
- 12:23realized it, but there was 120 page, 10 pages missing.
- 12:27So and that's still only 20% of my life.
- 12:30So the show, like I said, when we do do it, we actually be a
- 12:32consultant on the show. It's going to be so much
- 12:34involved and there's so much in my neighborhood that I want to
- 12:37implement into this show about other crews and other people
- 12:40that you can just keep going with it and the people see the
- 12:42vision. It's just a matter of the person
- 12:44that we're dealing with might be making a Marvel movie or
- 12:47something crazy. I'm saying, just like, does he
- 12:49have time? Yeah, we gotta hope he does.
- 12:51Right, for sure. If not, there's been plenty of
- 12:54buzz about this, this show. Trust me, like a lot of
- 12:57interested people, a lot of big names, It's, it's legit.
- 13:01I'm just saying it's normally I don't talk about my work in the
- 13:04entertainment industry of my podcast, but I, I wanted to put
- 13:07that out there for anybody that was asking the questions.
- 13:09I, I saw some of the interviews people, so many clips of, you
- 13:12know, Matthew Cox asking you questions, all these other
- 13:14people. And I just wanted to like, jump
- 13:16into the camera and be like, help you out because it's like,
- 13:20you don't really know, you know what I'm saying?
- 13:21Like the things that they're asking you, it's hard.
- 13:23It's hard to answer. Some of them.
- 13:25You're like, what status are you in?
- 13:27I don't know, like, you know what I'm saying?
- 13:28Like it's like, I just want to clear that up.
- 13:30You, you know what I'm saying. Is that fair to say?
- 13:32Yeah. Absolutely.
- 13:33I think that was good that we finally did this because
- 13:35remember, for a lot, for a long time, let's say you wouldn't let
- 13:37me talk about nothing. Yeah, 1.
- 13:38Of them this. Is true.
- 13:39You had me muscles for a while. I wasn't allowed to say things.
- 13:42I wanted to say certain things. So now the muscles kind of off a
- 13:44little bit. We could talk a little bit.
- 13:46Yes, I did tell him all that he had.
- 13:48Like we had an agreement with that.
- 13:49And mainly just because it's the process of Hollywood, you know
- 13:52what I'm saying? And plus, like, I just knew that
- 13:54like when you did these interviews with these other
- 13:56names, I knew that was going to come up.
- 13:58You know, I wasn't sure how comfortable you were talking
- 14:00with some. Of the I don't want to say
- 14:01anything wrong. Yeah.
- 14:02No, because let's say if I slipped and brought up the big
- 14:04guy's name, it could have ruined everything.
- 14:05Yeah, you know what I'm saying? And that's why.
- 14:07And plus, if we say it beforehand, these haters will
- 14:09reach out. Right.
- 14:10And that's why it's good that we never did.
- 14:12So now we could just wait and then boom, boom.
- 14:14Also, let's bring up, you know, while you're down here.
- 14:17We did a short film together, Me, him and a few other people.
- 14:20Still doing it. Still doing it, you know,
- 14:22filming it every day. It's a.
- 14:23Lot. Harder than I thought it was,
- 14:25you know, but. How good is it?
- 14:27It's good. It looks great, The scenes look
- 14:28cool. You know what I mean?
- 14:29Gangsters for me and the people that have got involved in it,
- 14:33like you said, you didn't know what was going to be.
- 14:34You thought it was going to be horrible first, right?
- 14:37And then when Von Cameron, you see us acting the way we were
- 14:40and scenarios, it's like, Oh, yeah.
- 14:43No, absolutely. Let me let me chime in on that.
- 14:46Gene. Gene was like, he hit me up.
- 14:47He's like this, by the way, this short film.
- 14:49This is nothing to do with the TV.
- 14:50Nothing to do with just practice.
- 14:52Yes, this is just, this is a little short film that we're
- 14:54doing mainly and yes, people are gonna have to pay for this by
- 14:58the way, because it's a lot of time and a lot of money.
- 15:00It's super tiring, you know what I'm saying?
- 15:02So whenever we get done with this of a platform for people to
- 15:05go and purchase it or whatever. But The thing is, these are all
- 15:09real guys that are in this. They're not no longer in their
- 15:12life. But you, you can articulate it
- 15:13better. Like they right?
- 15:15They, they, they get the life. So right, my friend explain them
- 15:17why so, so I wanted my friend Anthony Jano.
- 15:20And Anthony Jano was a legit tough guy from my neighborhood.
- 15:23Like he's not just a guy where it's like, oh, he was around.
- 15:25Anthony Jano was the toughest kid in my neighborhood at one
- 15:27time. You, you, you had to use a
- 15:29baseball bat on him. He'll throw you over a car.
- 15:30You know what I'm saying? He was a guy that every wise guy
- 15:33wanted. And he like, I don't like to
- 15:34take orders. And even though he'd be perfect
- 15:36for that life, he was around it, but he respected it.
- 15:39But he just didn't want to be that guy in it where he got to
- 15:41follow orders and do that, you know?
- 15:43So he did, always did his own thing, but everybody scared shit
- 15:45of him, you know what I'm saying?
- 15:46So I put him in it. How good was he on camera?
- 15:49Unbelievable. Let me tell you something.
- 15:52I told him this stuff too. And then here's the thing about
- 15:54me too. You guys don't know because I
- 15:55don't usually talk like this like candidly on my pod because
- 15:58I teach about the guests. But I'm just doing this because
- 16:00of the scenario I went, yeah, Anthony does not get more
- 16:04authentic than him. And same with that even Mike
- 16:07was. Good.
- 16:07Mike was great. Mike, my buddy from New York.
- 16:09Yeah, like. Like, like this.
- 16:11When he told me about this, Gene was just like, yeah, we should
- 16:13get together, do a little gangster short film or something
- 16:15like that. I'll bring in my buddies.
- 16:16I'm thinking like, what are we doing?
- 16:19Like these kids are not going to look good.
- 16:20It's going to be like over exactly.
- 16:24Acting, I know. But when people see but but then
- 16:26when I saw them like delivering the lines naturally and you're
- 16:30help directing it. When I tell you just give me a
- 16:32scenario, I'll give them a scenario and how it would really
- 16:35play out. I don't want to script.
- 16:37I said this, I don't. He wanted to write a whole
- 16:38script 1st and no, let's do it just us talking freely and just
- 16:43see how it likes. He didn't like it.
- 16:44He's like, this is going to suck.
- 16:45That's going to be horrible. And it turned out what it looks
- 16:48good. No, for sure, correct.
- 16:51Not not talking freely, but improving really.
- 16:54Yes, but but you're improving that.
- 16:56Improv you gave us the scenarios what you want and then we're
- 16:59going to do it how it really play out, right when we did the
- 17:00guy owing US money, I showed you how, you know, come in, blah,
- 17:04blah, blah, how I'm going to be at and he says, oh, all right,
- 17:06wow. And it's just naturally
- 17:08breakdown step by step. It's not it's just how it goes
- 17:11in their life. And I'm saying, so an actor
- 17:13can't do what I could do with that scene because I did that
- 17:16for real. I was at that table going with
- 17:18because what's the problem? You know what I'm saying?
- 17:20So there's no acting. It's just us.
- 17:22So Anthony General brings that to the table.
- 17:25My friend Mike, he was a dude in New York.
- 17:27Real great dude. I told you he'd be great on
- 17:29camera. So the dudes that we used, it's
- 17:31going to be perfect. And it's a short film and he's
- 17:33definitely going to like it. Oh.
- 17:35Let me tell you guys something. I I also brought in some
- 17:37professional stunt guys, but it's like it's, it's a short
- 17:40film. And no, Matthew Cox says, we're
- 17:42not putting this in Sundance, you know what I'm saying?
- 17:45But like, we're doing something. Gene wanted to do something for
- 17:49the fans and stuff like that to really kind of show what it was
- 17:53like and how it really is. You know what I'm saying?
- 17:55You want to bring bring to life scenarios for a short film and
- 17:58make them authentic. This doesn't correlate.
- 18:00I think people want to see Gene with a gun again.
- 18:02I'm joking. Oh yeah, yeah, for sure.
- 18:08But but just so everyone, I want to clear this up too.
- 18:10This has nothing to do with the TV series.
- 18:12No, this is just something. Practice, yes, for pony.
- 18:15I want this practice for Pony as well and do a film.
- 18:17Let's get into that too. Yeah, we.
- 18:20I wanted to practice for Pony because he's the director on
- 18:22Pony with another guy and we're actually waiting to do that.
- 18:25We're still seeing what's going on and my scene supposed to be
- 18:29up next you know whatever. But I wanted to see.
- 18:31I did, I did like hundreds of podcasts.
- 18:34Now my views is up in over 100 million, which I know sounds
- 18:37crazy, but if you really look at it, if you put my name into the
- 18:40thing, it's really that hot. You know, all my podcasts and
- 18:43views and clips, it's huge right now.
- 18:45So I I said, all right, I'm good with the podcast world, but how
- 18:48am I actually doing a film? This is what I wanted to do this
- 18:51for, See how I could go on the camera, see when it's walking
- 18:53with me, not to look at it. There's a lot to learn.
- 18:56I had the giggles a little bit, you know, I'm sorry, let me do
- 18:58it again, you know, so camera angles, you know, I was crying,
- 19:01laughing when you're under us getting a pillow.
- 19:03I'm trying not to laugh or laying on the table.
- 19:05So things that I want to do still shooting because, yes,
- 19:08shooting both sides, the angles, you know, the monologue.
- 19:11The monologue was so hard, but I did it and it was like, took me
- 19:14a while, but it was, it was hard.
- 19:16Yeah, the monologue was hard to do that and spit it out and
- 19:18everything. But I.
- 19:20And let me just have that. The monologue, There's a
- 19:24monologue. I don't give any details away,
- 19:26but when Gene asked asked Devone to get down with this doing the
- 19:30short film, I was like, absolutely.
- 19:33But for me, the one of the most powerful scenes in movie history
- 19:36is the opening monologue of Audi 96.
- 19:39So I wanted Gene to not the not the same thing, but I wanted him
- 19:42just to do a monologue. And this just to give like an
- 19:45accurate portrayal of of, of just talking about the life in
- 19:49his own way. Is that you know what I'm
- 19:51saying? And I think it's and it was hard
- 19:53for sure. You're hard.
- 19:54Yeah, I didn't do it. We did it a bunch of times.
- 19:56Yeah. It took hours.
- 19:58But you know how many times I walk up the stairs?
- 20:01A lot. A lot, A lot, A lot.
- 20:03Listen, you know what? I'm happy about it.
- 20:05I was supposed to get into this industry a while ago.
- 20:07I got set back. I was on federal probation.
- 20:10I had an attorney named Douglas Anton.
- 20:11I mean, this is all real stuff. And I was being shooted at a
- 20:14time by the Gotti family, so I was using him for the lawsuit as
- 20:16well. But federal probation is being
- 20:18real. And my ex-girlfriend was like
- 20:20trying to ruin my life. So I had actually had a synopsis
- 20:24that I wrote in jail, a little synopsis that my friend Frankie
- 20:27wrote. But I told him what to write and
- 20:30we got it in front of Dick Wolf. I can say this now, it got in
- 20:33front of Dick Wolf. He actually liked it.
- 20:35Right. He actually liked it, You know
- 20:37what I'm saying? So people didn't know that I
- 20:39wrote a synopsis. I didn't.
- 20:40I'm not a good. My writing is very poor, but my
- 20:43knowledge is good. Yes, my friend wrote it down and
- 20:46I gave him the knowledge and I created.
- 20:47I wanted 2 episodes on Law and Order, but I wanted to play The
- 20:50Dirty cop. I wanted to be an organized
- 20:52crime dirty cop and I wanted to play the guy.
- 20:54And they and Douglas Santos said that's not going to be easy.
- 20:58You could probably sell it to them, but I don't know if
- 20:59they're going to want you in it, you know what I'm saying?
- 21:01So he was already trying to negotiate that because he has a
- 21:04client that's on Law and Order SVU.
- 21:06And I created this whole scenario of a dirty cop.
- 21:08I know how Law and Order works. It always, it always starts off
- 21:12with something you're seeing, like you'll find a murder in a
- 21:14nightclub, but it has nothing to do with the murder.
- 21:15It always goes into something else.
- 21:17And I took that and I created a story and went in front of him
- 21:20and he liked it, but he said, yo, he kind of likes it.
- 21:22So it was heartbreaking when I went back to jail and it set me
- 21:26back for this fake domestic shit.
- 21:28Then we're talking. Yeah.
- 21:29So anybody out there, you weren't even beating on girls or
- 21:32doing shit like can we just clear the air with that because.
- 21:35Everyone knows that I got stabbed.
- 21:37I got stabbed in the leg and I almost lost my leg over it.
- 21:40My I almost lost my foot. The infection went down to the
- 21:42foot and I, I took the weight because I didn't want her to get
- 21:45a stabbing. That's what that situation was
- 21:48about. I just want to put to bed all
- 21:49these rumors, all that shit that's not true.
- 21:51Like he's not. No, I was stabbed in my calf and
- 21:55I I held it down for two days because I didn't want her to get
- 21:59a stabbing case Fucking bad in Florida, whether or not so I was
- 22:03like, and I end up getting locked up for this thing and for
- 22:06the assault, for assault that never happened and they threw it
- 22:08away. You know what I mean?
- 22:09But it was something for people to run with.
- 22:11And you also have to break it down.
- 22:13And if people had any kind of brain in the law, I am a
- 22:16predicate, persistent violent criminal.
- 22:18I am a career criminal. I popped out to every charge
- 22:21known to mankind. If I was convicted of any kind
- 22:24of assault, I get 10 years. So if you think about it,
- 22:26Florida is one of the most strictest states in America.
- 22:30If it was Gene Borrello and I committed these crimes, would I
- 22:32be sitting here in front of you today?
- 22:33I have nothing to give them, nothing to help them with.
- 22:36OK, If it was serious, I really beat this girl and hurt her so
- 22:39bad. You should never see me.
- 22:41I'd be serving prison time in a federal state prison doing 10
- 22:45years easy, easy, not misdemeanors thrown away.
- 22:47Oh, this is bull crap. You know what I mean so that's
- 22:50if anyone had a brain and no, just because I cooperate against
- 22:53the mafia flaw don't give a fuck what I did for them.
- 22:55They were coming after me if it was something serious gone they
- 22:58don't give you know what I mean? So for people that just talk to
- 23:01you and don't understand, that's a very serious crime.
- 23:03And if it was really what they made it to be, I would not be
- 23:06here with you. You know what I'm saying?
- 23:07And that's really simple. As that and The thing is what
- 23:10they made it to be. These are people on the Internet
- 23:12that might not necessarily be a fan of yours that want to just
- 23:15perpetuate. Yeah, and they want to.
- 23:17Clear that up. But what they don't understand
- 23:18is that all these haters actually help me because like
- 23:22I'm 5050 I have some people that love me.
- 23:24I get you see my fan mail it don't stop my DMS is like tons
- 23:27of DMS. I get tons of fan mail. People love me all over the
- 23:29world. But the hate mail also helps me.
- 23:32But I'm being haters because they kept me going so much,
- 23:35relevant so much and. You understand that too.
- 23:38Now I go. At first I wanted to fight
- 23:40everybody, right? I was literally trying to get
- 23:42addresses. Every day.
- 23:42I'm like, I'm gonna crack this guy.
- 23:44Like literally, I swear. Now I'm just over it.
- 23:47Yeah, but I wanted to also put this out there for people.
- 23:50Gene's not an idiot, you know what I'm saying?
- 23:52He knows how to play the game. Like, I'm not going to give you
- 23:54all your secrets, but you know how to play the game, you know
- 23:56what I'm saying? Like he knows like people from
- 23:59people that don't like him, right?
- 24:00Yeah. You're.
- 24:01He knows how I got it, right? I.
- 24:02Got to say this, as much as I don't like this guy, well, I
- 24:04always liked him, but he's in my in my old life.
- 24:07So when I killed my crew, there was the main guys.
- 24:10It was Ronnie, me, Pudgy, Ricky Kessler, Mike Padavona and Mike
- 24:15Palacio that was our main guy. And Bobby G Alonzo, that was our
- 24:18main crew that we all hung out together and there was a lot of
- 24:21other guys, but the main guys was us and only one guy.
- 24:25And then one time he's sitting and talking to me and he goes,
- 24:27you know, you don't have to be fooled, Pudgy.
- 24:31I forget this thing down there. And I like Podgy.
- 24:32We we end up, you know, he wasn't a tough guy.
- 24:34But yeah, I do. I do because he wasn't a tough
- 24:38guy. But like, I was mad at him for
- 24:39another reason. It's something he said.
- 24:41And because he always just said, oh, Gene's the only one.
- 24:42I'll take 30 years. He was like one of those guys.
- 24:44But at the end of the day, he said something like, so I was
- 24:46going after him a little bit, but he's really, he was a cool
- 24:48guy, but he's the only one that ever told me.
- 24:51He goes, you know, you don't have me fooled.
- 24:52He goes, I know you play dumb. He goes.
- 24:55But I know you're the one of the smartest guys in this room.
- 24:57He goes, you could hit me with all that.
- 24:58I don't know how to read. I don't know how to write.
- 25:00He goes, I know your game. And I was looked at him.
- 25:03I started laughing. I said, bro, it's what it is.
- 25:05He goes, you're not dumb at all. He goes, you know what you're
- 25:08doing at all times. And I I know that.
- 25:10And he's the only one that ever really caught me.
- 25:12And that was the thing that I always did.
- 25:13I always like people think I was dumb.
- 25:15I was like, people think I don't know what's going on.
- 25:17I'll ask you a question. What's that mean?
- 25:18I know what it means. Yeah.
- 25:20You know, now the couch have the bag.
- 25:21OK. And I didn't mean to.
- 25:22Do that. That's true.
- 25:24I get tired of the comments. I certainly used to like I was
- 25:27so trained by Ronnie and Vinnie because they were so good at
- 25:30mine warfare. I would do it.
- 25:32I do it in this world now today where I'll ask you a question
- 25:35three times in one month and see if he answered me right the same
- 25:37time every time. I don't know if we should or
- 25:39not. There's so many things that I
- 25:40took from my gangs life to the real world that works.
- 25:43So my book smarts was very low, but my like 7000, right?
- 25:47You can never get me, scam me, run game on me.
- 25:50You know what I mean? So it's like I took that stuff
- 25:52and only one guy ever really caught me.
- 25:53No apology. He's like, you don't have any
- 25:55fool, bro. You're not a dummy.
- 25:56You're very smart. And I use that to this day in
- 25:58this world where I knew controversy was going to make me
- 26:01big in this game, right? The first person, you know who I
- 26:03went after when I came in the podcast, bro, who's the first
- 26:05guy I went after? Think about it was the first guy
- 26:08started Michael Franz, Michael Francis and what happened?
- 26:11It gave me views every time I go on a podcast in that point,
- 26:1470,080 thousand, what was going to say about him?
- 26:16I knew what I was doing, you know what I'm saying?
- 26:18I became, you know, I became the Howard Stern of the mob genre to
- 26:22say anything, to do anything. People love that.
- 26:25Basically. I love the way this, the things
- 26:27he says about people not oh, hey, I want to be part of the
- 26:29politics. I want to I want to be a
- 26:31professional businessman. I'm like, bro, come on.
- 26:33Like, I hate the Paul a shout out then on show God.
- 26:38Hey, yeah, you know, I want to save the kids.
- 26:40They don't want to hear that be real with you.
- 26:42They don't wanna hear it. They wanna hear gangster.
- 26:46You can jerk off this that. And that's what kept me above
- 26:48all the other ones. You know, I'm saying that's what
- 26:50keeps me right now you have about 30 mile guys out there
- 26:54between all and then I'll get 10 views no more.
- 26:57I get I get told you I'm going into it tomorrow.
- 26:58Talk about taking. I'll get more views in all them
- 27:00combined except for Mike Franchise and Sammy Guvano.
- 27:03Yeah. But it's way more entertaining
- 27:05than by far. Yeah, but it's not.
- 27:06I hate on that. No, but it don't matter.
- 27:08Sammy Guvano is like Jesus Christ in this game, you know,
- 27:11he was a part of the biggest things in mob in my history.
- 27:15You know, people are just going to sit there and go, Oh yeah,
- 27:17you know what I'm saying? I don't have that, but I have
- 27:19the charisma, you know, the craziness, the style.
- 27:21You know, I dress like the younger kids.
- 27:23I drive McLaren. If I break your call.
- 27:26You know, I'm living show that show you a little bit of that,
- 27:29you know, they hate that, you know, So like I said, I I
- 27:33blended in with all the guys I love rap music.
- 27:35I love, you know my cold fashion.
- 27:37Movies. Fashion sports, you know, I'm a
- 27:39big sports guy and I I think that's just keeping me so
- 27:42relevant now. But like I said, I'm glad we got
- 27:44to clear up ATV show because Iron Man's like, oh, what's
- 27:46going on? What's going on?
- 27:47It's like it's going to happen, but it's going to be at a scale
- 27:50that we want it, which is going to be huge.
- 27:52Which takes time, right? You know what I mean?
- 27:54You're talking millions of dollars.
- 27:55People don't understand like these executives in Hollywood, a
- 27:59lot of them are so busy and so high profile they don't have an
- 28:03hour out of their day to entertain anybody, to talk to
- 28:06anybody. So if for them to take their
- 28:08time out, let alone watch 3 podcasts that we did together
- 28:12and read this whole book in 14 days and then reach out and say
- 28:16let me see a script, then read the script, then it's listen.
- 28:21They're not going to waste their time like time is money.
- 28:24And you got to understand something like we created a
- 28:26genre where people are making money off us now.
- 28:28Like the mob genre was created by me and John Elike.
- 28:30Mike Francis is the first guy that came out talking on
- 28:32interviews. Yeah, but me and John Elike
- 28:34started the mob podcast. Like that's a known fact.
- 28:36Like Mike Francis even said it. Like you started the mafia
- 28:39podcast. We all did this, Sammy.
- 28:41Everybody filed suit on us. Yeah, I had Sammy Guevano coming
- 28:44on before he did any interview. They.
- 28:46Didn't like they probably didn't even know what a podcast.
- 28:48Was Everybody likes me that meets to me.
- 28:51I swear to God, every ex mob guy I talk to Gene, I'll come off
- 28:53for you Gene I'll come off for you Sammy Cavano's like Gene,
- 28:56I'll come off for you. Then him and ally started going
- 28:58the war. I had him coming on.
- 29:00I got violated. I'm like Sammy, please he didn't
- 29:02do an interview yet on one show. I says please come on on his
- 29:05first well hot show right now. It'll be awesome.
- 29:07You know that me and Johnny just did a show talking about him.
- 29:10That 700,000 views really. Me and a Life did a show just
- 29:14I'll show it to you. On the Johnny Jean show.
- 29:16We did a show just talking about the Paul Castle and him.
- 29:19We got 700,000 views on that. Really.
- 29:22Yeah, that's a lot of views, bro, You know what I'm saying?
- 29:24So I told him, just come on, man, he was coming on.
- 29:27And then I got violated, went into jail.
- 29:30They did all these stipulations about the show, and then him and
- 29:32Johnny started fighting and then never did the show together.
- 29:35And then when I came out, this guy had a show, that guy had a
- 29:37show, this guy had a show. That's and, you know, and now
- 29:40all of a sudden all these guys got podcasts because of us.
- 29:43They're still going to this day. Now they just fight with each
- 29:45other, right? Like, I'm going to get a little
- 29:46secret. Lee Cole is a good friend of
- 29:48mine. I'm not saying that we were.
- 29:50We didn't fight at all, but a lot of it was WWE.
- 29:53Yeah. Me and Henry used to left behind
- 29:55the scenes hysterically and be like, all right, we got to just
- 29:57pretend we don't like each other, but we really don't I.
- 30:00Don't know somebody like who is that guy?
- 30:02He's just a pilot. I don't know.
- 30:04He's like. You know, you notice to me, like
- 30:06certain people, like I, I'm so good at this industry.
- 30:10I don't know if you got it or not, and I don't know if you're
- 30:12going to make it. How do you know?
- 30:13So I knew he's somewhat funny. Yes, he is.
- 30:17He said something that I still laugh about to this day.
- 30:20He goes, Johnny, a light, He goes.
- 30:22You shot him in the head into him off a bridge he goes.
- 30:24He did it all for the kids. We were messing around, that guy
- 30:29said. He was asking for your address
- 30:31this year. I love what he said, that he
- 30:32goes, oh, Johnny, you shot him in the head and do him off the
- 30:34grid. You did it all for the kids.
- 30:35And I still laugh about that to this day.
- 30:37I said, Johnny, that's funny. He goes, it is.
- 30:39It is, You know, so we used to get a kick out of it.
- 30:41And then we knew the ones that weren't going nowhere, you know
- 30:43what I'm saying? And a lot of the ones, there's
- 30:45so many stragglers. But like, I knew he would go
- 30:47somewhere and did it that Jeff could do.
- 30:48I knew he goes somewhere. He's good.
- 30:50He's a good crime reporter. He actually does his work.
- 30:52He does his homework. They're not podcasts.
- 30:54They're not podcasts. He's an investigator almost.
- 30:56He really knows and you know, I had many fights with him, but we
- 31:00actually are friends as. Well, yeah.
- 31:01Can we talk about like there was that?
- 31:02One live. Well, I get mad at him because I
- 31:05always have his back. Yeah, you know, I'm saying and I
- 31:08tell him, Joey Molino, I'm not your friends.
- 31:09And I didn't like that. He was kind of like sticking up
- 31:11for him. So I got nasty.
- 31:13But afterwards, we were on the phone.
- 31:14We worked it out. But me and him always do that.
- 31:17And like, we're supposed to hang out this week, you know what I'm
- 31:18saying? So me and him are genuinely
- 31:20friends. But a lot of the podcast is like
- 31:22I'll watch them and I'll say I'll come on your show.
- 31:25I think you're gonna make it Yeah, cuz they I get DMS a guy
- 31:28just DM me yesterday. Oh hey, you want to call my
- 31:30show? I need 30 minutes.
- 31:31That's $1000 bro. Who are you to me?
- 31:34Who I need your show for what you gonna do?
- 31:36What do you do for me right, I'm doing you the favor.
- 31:39No, for sure. You know what I'm saying?
- 31:40So it's like, I know I sound like a, but I'm at that point
- 31:43it's. True, though.
- 31:44Yeah. It's not being.
- 31:45It's true. You put in the time.
- 31:47Yeah. And The thing is, you were the
- 31:48first to develop this, this true crime genre.
- 31:51Nobody else knew what you were young enough to know to.
- 31:55Think about it. That goes back to.
- 31:56Let me tell you guys and let me put it to you like this and and
- 31:58I want everyone to listen to this as much as Joey Molino.
- 32:01Me and him don't like each other.
- 32:03He did an interview. He'll always manage to what
- 32:05bring my name up because he knows when he says something
- 32:08about me like I say something about him.
- 32:09The views come in. He goes he said the thing in
- 32:12Tampa and he goes all I I hope everybody you know the
- 32:15hurricane. I hope he's all safe except for
- 32:17Gene Barrella. I hope he gets killed in the
- 32:19arcade. That was his view.
- 32:21What he won't say about Johnny Domino come out now the X Mob
- 32:23guys because they're not going to get no views.
- 32:25The conflict between me and him when I started beef with him, I
- 32:29got messages from everybody. Call my show, call my show, call
- 32:32my show. I'm like I'm going to go on the
- 32:34one I want to, you know what I'm saying?
- 32:35I'm going to address it. I went on Jeff the do show and
- 32:37did it first and addressed it. You know what I'm saying?
- 32:40And I picked the show. I want to go on to address it
- 32:42because I know when me and Jeff the do one on that live, we
- 32:45broke a record. We had 1500 people in the live
- 32:48Mike Francis don't even get that Siri Guevara don't even get
- 32:51that. We had 1500 people in a life,
- 32:53bro Yeah, that's a lot just waiting to see what I was going
- 32:56to say about this guy. So I knew what I was doing with
- 32:58this game. You know what I'm saying and
- 33:00like I said now guys reach out to me like I love Vlad Vlad's a
- 33:03cool guy and Vlad's like Gene, I'll give you 2500 to come on
- 33:06show. I'm like, no, don't worry about
- 33:07it, Just give me that plane flight and this much because at
- 33:09the time I was making for June and July, I was making huge
- 33:12money. So I didn't give a fuck.
- 33:14I'm like, Nah, I'm just gonna come on, do a little tour in
- 33:15California, just pay for my flight though.
- 33:17And that's, and that's what he did.
- 33:18And I wanted to come on his show after speaking.
- 33:20Wait, Jeff Leduc's texting me right now.
- 33:22I see. That's what I'm saying.
- 33:23We're always talking. You know what I'm saying?
- 33:25Yeah, he's going off on. Oh, look, Joey Molino's talking
- 33:28about me again. Wow.
- 33:29We were just talking about it. You see guys proofing the
- 33:31pudding. He's starting around him.
- 33:34He do you. Really, do you really have like?
- 33:36Honestly though, like do you really have a like you don't
- 33:39really dislike? Him.
- 33:40No. I I just.
- 33:41No, I don't. No.
- 33:43Let me be honest. You snuff.
- 33:44I will slap. Yeah, but do you really, really
- 33:46hate them? Though No, no, I will slap Snuff
- 33:48because he, I don't like him. Died.
- 33:49I was never a gangster. Yeah, Joey has a right to call
- 33:52me a rat. This that.
- 33:53That's fine. Joe.
- 33:53You he has he has credentials. Yeah.
- 33:55He's got shooting. He's got everything.
- 33:57He's he's really did it. But at the end of the day, he's
- 34:0065 years old. I would never hit him.
- 34:01He's too old anyway. Yeah, Snuff is not a gang.
- 34:03He's trying to talk to him. I'll Rick Jane shit out of him.
- 34:06I'll clap. I'll slap him for real.
- 34:09And he knows that he could talk all the shit he wants.
- 34:11Yeah, anyone really knows me. I'm on site, bro.
- 34:14Yeah, I don't talk. I'll just Rock You when I see
- 34:16you. And then that's it.
- 34:17Joey Molina. I hit him.
- 34:18He's like 65, bro. Yeah, that's corny.
- 34:20I would never do that. You know?
- 34:21I would never hit him. I'll go off on him.
- 34:22A clown, but like Snuff, I'll rock.
- 34:27I don't I'm not familiar with who that guy is other than you
- 34:29mentioned. I don't know who Jeff Nadu is
- 34:31other other than seeing clip with you.
- 34:32It's. Got a big platform?
- 34:33But but like the snuff guy, Like what is his?
- 34:37He just wants to be Joey Millinos coattail and Joey has
- 34:40all the gangster stories need to see like.
- 34:43Why is he like getting involved? He's a junkie.
- 34:45But why is he like bashing you though?
- 34:47Because it's views, but I don't mind if Joey does.
- 34:49I'll go back before. Because he was really about that
- 34:52though, so it's more of like a respect there.
- 34:53Absolutely. I have no problem with me going
- 34:56Joey going at it, Who the fuck are you stuff you are.
- 34:58He sells cars. You have to do a thing.
- 35:02Yeah. The things I did in one month
- 35:04you never did in your whole life.
- 35:05Alright, you know, saying so it's more about like you got the
- 35:07respect for joy. He was a gang.
- 35:10Yeah, 100%. But it's more so this other guy
- 35:12who has nothing to do with it. OK, nothing to do it.
- 35:15You like, I'll give you a wedgie.
- 35:16You chase you down the street. You know what I'm saying?
- 35:18You won't do nothing. You know what I'm saying?
- 35:19It's like what? You know, all my friends in
- 35:21Florida want to beat them up. Like I have a lot of you met
- 35:23Mike and all these guys, they UFC fighters, they're not just
- 35:25like I'm slapping this kid when I see him.
- 35:27But if I have friends that are loyal to me out here, like when
- 35:29I see him, I'm rocking him. He doesn't understand that.
- 35:31Yeah, these guys think it's like a joke.
- 35:33People love me out here in Tampa, like love me, right?
- 35:36You know? And they know I'm the real deal.
- 35:37I've been in multiple. It's I'm not allowed.
- 35:39I've been in multiple fish fights down here, right?
- 35:41I made a name for myself in Tampa.
- 35:42I fought a whole security team, bro, right?
- 35:44A whole team. And let's just clear that up
- 35:46real quick. When you were involved in these
- 35:48incidences, yeah, it's not like Gene's not the type of guy that
- 35:51was going and picking fights. Around I'm always defending
- 35:53somebody. It's either, it's either it's
- 35:55self-defense or like, you know, like a, a female got pushed down
- 35:59at one nightclub. That's that that, by the way,
- 36:00that's what happened with this the yeah, security guard.
- 36:03I got benched old. Downtown.
- 36:04But let's just clear a girl got pushed down that Gene.
- 36:08Gene was with his crew by security and then they got
- 36:12involved. No, by a random guy.
- 36:14I knocked him out and then the security tried to get involved
- 36:16and we end up fighting the bounces, right.
- 36:18And then I became cool with all the bounces.
- 36:19They loved me. They're like, yo, I watched you
- 36:21on clocks. It was the funniest shit.
- 36:25One of the bounces sees you not to this day.
- 36:26And he's like, you can watch you on No jumping, bro.
- 36:28I was like, that's awesome. Me and you fish for it, right?
- 36:31Yeah. So, you know, he's had his
- 36:33security now somewhere else and he loves me.
- 36:35You know, you know, everyone knows me in Tampa.
- 36:36Like, you know, I'm, I'm a friendliest dude.
- 36:38I walk around, not that tough guy shit, but no one's abusing
- 36:41me and my friends. I take that it, I take it what I
- 36:43used to do in New York to over here, except I don't use guns
- 36:45and knives, but like if you try to play me, I'm punching you in
- 36:47your face. Like and I got locked up for
- 36:49that. And then, you know, they threw
- 36:50the case away because like he started it, right.
- 36:52But like I got banned from all downtown in Tampa.
- 36:54I was banned from every place. And then now it's all lifted.
- 36:57I'm right back because I was new to this.
- 36:59I wasn't used to people saying things and then getting away
- 37:02with it. I'm used to and then I'd say we
- 37:04take it from there. And I mean, so now I've learned
- 37:06Tampa, everyone loves me. I'm friends with everybody.
- 37:09And you know, it's cool down here, but they don't understand
- 37:12these guys, how much loyalty I got down here.
- 37:14Like you come down here running your mouth about me, my boys
- 37:17will punch you in the face. I think I would all legit tough
- 37:19guys down here. They're not patrol makers, but
- 37:21like they're fighters, right? Like they'll give you a wedgie,
- 37:23but snuff, like give you a wedgie and send you down the
- 37:26street, right? You know what I'm saying?
- 37:27I just want to clarify that for people because that was another
- 37:29thing people were wondering like, oh, jeans, go on and be a
- 37:32bit. Look, this guy, I just let me
- 37:34speak for you for a second. I've gotten to know you pretty
- 37:36well, right? Not one time do him and I ever
- 37:38talk about his old mom, except you're on the pockets or
- 37:41anything like he's a normal guy, like you know what I'm saying?
- 37:44You never know that he was in the mob or even anything
- 37:46affiliate with that unless he told you about it.
- 37:48You know what I'm saying? Another thing is genius, like
- 37:51super chill, like people. I like a lot of people that see
- 37:54clips of you on the Internet. They think can run around the
- 37:57chainsaw look looking for altercations, yet he's not like
- 38:00that. You know what I mean?
- 38:01Like he's not going looking for problems or anything like that,
- 38:04but at the end of the day, just like any real man out there,
- 38:07somebody comes to start shit with you or somebody you're
- 38:10with, you have the right to defend yourself and natural
- 38:13comes out while praying out. I'm gonna tell you right now,
- 38:15the College of Terry, she was the head prosecutor, chief of
- 38:18organized crime and and now she's like an acting attorney
- 38:21general for the East District. And I would say and she always
- 38:24said, like, you know, this kids like a problem.
- 38:27You know me meaning like, I hope when you get out, you're not a
- 38:29problem still, because they always didn't trust me, because
- 38:31I didn't need the mafia to be a bad guy, right?
- 38:33And I said no, I'll never be like that again.
- 38:34But I'll never let no one abuse me, right, You know what I'm
- 38:36saying? So at the end of the day, I
- 38:37still stay with that. Like you're not going to abuse
- 38:39me. I'll cool you all.
- 38:41You see me? You got a problem.
- 38:41All right, then we're going to fight.
- 38:42That's it. You know, no one's getting
- 38:43killed. No one's getting shot, stabbed.
- 38:45It's a fist fight. You win, you lose, whatever, you
- 38:47know. So that's how they always knew
- 38:49how I was. You know what I mean?
- 38:50So I didn't remember. I was in Ragazzam by myself.
- 38:52There's no mom guys in Ragazzam. I was fucking tough from
- 38:54Ragazzam. Which I gotta tell you, like
- 38:57every time I see you and we like just interact or whatever.
- 39:00Like we went out to to dinner earlier after we got done
- 39:03filming. I just forget about the fact
- 39:05that you're actually in these places for so many years, like
- 39:09the worst. You never think that, you know
- 39:11what I mean? Like, you know, and I and I
- 39:13prospered in there. I was with the guys.
- 39:15I was like had a phone on the table.
- 39:17Like I wasn't just in there. I was like, you know, holding it
- 39:19down for my people. And you know, people think
- 39:20that's all fake stories. Like if a guy came in from the
- 39:23house I was in, like, yo, Gene was the real deal.
- 39:25And I cuz I own like this kid was really not a punk.
- 39:27Like, you know, and you know, I take that with me not to this
- 39:30day. Like, you know, you could say
- 39:31what I am whatever I did, but nobody lived the way I, the way
- 39:34I was, the walk, the shoes I was in.
- 39:36So yeah, I did what I did. But, you know, you better be
- 39:39that guy to come up to me and tell that, yeah, you know, I
- 39:41could just walk with me. Go oh, Gene bro, so and so,
- 39:43like, I'll crack you, you know, I'm saying, and then we'll take
- 39:45it from there, right? You know, I mean, that's just
- 39:47the way I'm going to be to the day I'm dead, you know?
- 39:48I mean, and Johnny likes the same way.
- 39:51Yeah. Oh, he's saying what if Johnny
- 39:52was in his 40s? He's a knockout out.
- 39:54Well, he's still. He's 67 years old without a
- 39:56friend. You got a bullet him.
- 39:58Still, if you knew Johnny when he was 40 years old, you better
- 40:01use a baseball bat of him. He's not getting out of cold.
- 40:03Like he's beating the shit out of you.
- 40:04Like, you're not saying nothing to him, you know what I'm
- 40:06saying? You know?
- 40:07Like, literally, he's wrecking you.
- 40:08So it's like, you know, people don't understand.
- 40:10Like, yeah, we cooperated, but we were the guys you didn't want
- 40:12to deal with in that life, right?
- 40:14You know what I'm saying? Right.
- 40:15Even my friend Anthony Russo, he's out here.
- 40:17He's older. But Anthony's vicious.
- 40:18Yeah. Not Hoody, the other one.
- 40:20Hoody's a good dude. Not a punk either, but Russo,
- 40:22Big Anthony, oh, he's a legit tough guy, bro.
- 40:24He's 6 foot four, 260 lbs, right?
- 40:27Knocking you out cold. You can say to them you're going
- 40:29to be that guy coming up to us like we're cool and chill, but
- 40:32don't forget about what we could do, right?
- 40:34You know what I'm saying? So we take that witness to this
- 40:36day. We try to be different and like
- 40:38I said, I came out to Tampa. I love it out here and this is
- 40:41where I'm going to stay. You know, I go to Miami to see
- 40:42my girlfriend. I come back and he's got.
- 40:44No, absolutely, absolutely. I want to bring something up as
- 40:49well. Like how often do you have
- 40:52people coming up to you honestly?
- 40:54So like recognize you get like tell me the story about the
- 40:57quarterback. Wait, all that, wait a while.
- 40:59I'll tell you a better one. So I'm in Miami with my
- 41:02girlfriend and she lives in a really nice building, right?
- 41:05This is like a high end building.
- 41:07So we're in the building and she thinks it's hysterical too.
- 41:10She's like, how do you have fans?
- 41:13She's. From Ohio.
- 41:14She don't really know, you know, she's learned now all this stuff
- 41:16I was a part of and you know, she's like a legit, you know,
- 41:18great, good person, best girl I've ever had in my life.
- 41:21And so we're in the elevator opens up and the guy just looks
- 41:26at me. He's like a regular square, but
- 41:27you can see he's a wealthy guy, regular dude.
- 41:29He goes Gene Borrello. I say, what's up?
- 41:31He goes, I watch a little kid, man, I love it.
- 41:32I'm just like and she's like, what do you?
- 41:35Say to that like people come up to you like is it, is it normal?
- 41:39I'm like, hey, how you doing? You know, I get stopped more in
- 41:41Miami than anywhere. I don't know why Tampa.
- 41:44Like I guess everyone knows me already out here.
- 41:45But like when I'm in Miami I get stopped a lot.
- 41:48You know, on the street or in Club 11 they take two people.
- 41:51Had my girlfriend take a picture with us, you know, I mean, you
- 41:53know, I get stopped a lot over there.
- 41:54Like how often? Like like give this like like.
- 41:57Everyday I got, there's another time I was in Tampa.
- 42:00I just came down here and this is a funny one.
- 42:02I'm with my old business partner in my car wash, my friend, my
- 42:06partner Mike, and I'm with Paulie.
- 42:08Paulie's a very good friend of mine still to this day right
- 42:10now. And we're in a bar in like the
- 42:11middle of nowhere in like a country part of Tampa.
- 42:14And there's this guy with like a biker jacket on, right?
- 42:17And he's looking at his phone and then he keeps looking at me,
- 42:21looking at his phone. He keeps looking at me.
- 42:22I'm like, fuck. Oh, my God.
- 42:23Maybe it's somebody from the nose, somebody I'm with back in
- 42:26the day. So he comes over, he walks over
- 42:29and he's like Jean Barrol. He's like, yo, just go.
- 42:31I just read your book. I'm looking at you to see if
- 42:33that was you. You look different.
- 42:34Oh, my God. He's a dead out a legit biker.
- 42:37Yeah, we not a Hell's Angel, but the other one Outlaw.
- 42:39And he go, you know, he told me I respected.
- 42:40He goes, Gina, I'll go take a picture.
- 42:42He goes, but I'll get in trouble.
- 42:43I was like, OK, I was like, no problem.
- 42:44He's like, but I'm just wanting to know.
- 42:45I'm a I'm a fan. He was he's like, I read your
- 42:47book and I had to come over. I was like, all right, thank
- 42:49you, man. That was it.
- 42:50You know, that was pretty wild to me that he's an active
- 42:52gangster still. Yeah.
- 42:53He was like, I can't take a picture.
- 42:54You all get in trouble. He's like, but I love it.
- 42:57And I watch him and I read your book, you know what I'm saying?
- 42:58So I I get stuff like that. And I think it's because of my
- 43:01age, you know? I talk about the the going out
- 43:03with the quarterback though and get him getting a little annoyed
- 43:06by you. No, no, no, no.
- 43:07He's, he's good. Like I became, I became, I
- 43:11became friendly with Josh Freeman, the quarterback for the
- 43:13Bucks. And like, you know what I'm
- 43:14saying? Like, no, it's funny.
- 43:15Like we go places and like, like, he's like a famous
- 43:19cornerback team row. Who's that guy?
- 43:22Yeah. Gee, can we get a photo of the
- 43:23autograph that like, forget the fact of this famous autograph.
- 43:26That's just, that's just the incredible.
- 43:28Story You're like, he's a cool guy, man.
- 43:29He's one anyone knows Josh Freeman and Tab.
- 43:32But awesome dude. You know, I hung out a few
- 43:33times. He's a cool guy and I go, I hang
- 43:36out partying sometimes and you know, like I said, he's cool.
- 43:39You'll meet, you know what I mean?
- 43:40I'm still trying to run some routes and I'll be honest, I'm
- 43:42close the run. I'm like, bro, I got to catch a
- 43:44touchdown from you. So it has to be.
- 43:46Speaking of football, you said last time we did an interview,
- 43:49like I could throw a football 50 yards. 60 I actually 60 yeah,
- 43:52I'm. 60 I saw you doing that on social media yeah, like on
- 43:55Instagram, yeah. So that's not like people are
- 43:58making. Purposely, because I had got
- 44:03comments. There's no way you could throw a
- 44:04football that no one realizes. My hands are huge.
- 44:06I have a really strong arm. I was throwing a baseball.
- 44:10Yeah. I was throwing baseball very
- 44:11hard my whole life, very hard. And I get throwing football
- 44:14really fast. So I go on there and I says I'm
- 44:1640 years old, by the way. Right now I'm playing the
- 44:18football store in the 60 yards. That was a 60 yard pass pretty
- 44:21much that I threw to a kid that I met in Miami.
- 44:23He's a fan. 18 year old kid loves.
- 44:25He's like, yo, let's play catch. I got to cool with him.
- 44:28I go to gym with him and he's like, yo, sort of football.
- 44:30He plays high school football, going to college and all right,
- 44:32I said, yeah, I got on. He goes, really?
- 44:34Yeah, let's go pass this. He's like what?
- 44:36I got a cabin. I'm throwing dots at him bombs
- 44:39and I videoed 1 and it went like almost 60 yards.
- 44:41You know, I'm saying, and you know, I like to do that to prove
- 44:43people like I'm not. Yeah, yeah.
