- 0:04Speaker 1: It is that time of year for at least Fargo
- 0:08Speaker 1: Public Schools parent-teacher conferences. I got the notification a couple
- 0:13Speaker 1: days ago, or was it yesterday? I have no concept
- 0:15Speaker 1: of time. But basically it said click on this link
- 0:18Speaker 1: and schedule your conference time. So it'll be after Halloween.
- 0:22Speaker 1: I think sometime in the first. I should probably look
- 0:25Speaker 1: at that.
- 0:25Speaker 2: It sounds like you don't know when this.
- 0:27Speaker 3: Is at all. This could be in December and Angie
- 0:31Speaker 3: doesn't have a clue.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Gosh, I never said I was a good mom. No,
- 0:34Speaker 1: I did sign up for a time slot and it's
- 0:37Speaker 1: in my calendar. So now I don't have to think
- 0:39Speaker 1: about it until I get the reminder.
- 0:40Speaker 4: You're right.
- 0:40Speaker 2: Out of sight, out of mind.
- 0:42Speaker 1: But I am interested. Like now I've been thinking, I
- 0:45Speaker 1: wonder what. His teacher, Liam, this is for Liam, my
- 0:49Speaker 1: fourth grader.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Okay.
- 0:51Speaker 1: I wonder what his teacher is going to say about
- 0:53Speaker 1: him at conferences or ask me during conferences based on
- 0:59Speaker 1: whatever his behavior is at school. Because I will tell
- 1:02Speaker 1: you this. Liam is very open about what happens at school.
- 1:08Speaker 1: And I'm concerned. I have some concerns. You have questions.
- 1:12Speaker 1: I have some concerns. He's very much, he does not
- 1:15Speaker 1: like Any nonsense and like horseplay or whatever when it
- 1:20Speaker 1: is time.
- 1:21Speaker 2: He's not a fan of the riffraff?
- 1:22Speaker 1: No, he's not. And when it's time to like get
- 1:25Speaker 1: work done, he gets very mad. It is like four
- 1:28Speaker 1: out of the five days a week where he's like,
- 1:30Speaker 1: we were trying to do our work. And then these kids,
- 1:34Speaker 1: as though he's not a kid himself.
- 1:36Speaker 5: He's so serious.
- 1:36Speaker 1: And these kids just kept joking around, not getting their
- 1:41Speaker 1: work done. Like, oh, I'm trying to focus. And I
- 1:44Speaker 1: love that. He wants to focus. I'm concerned about how
- 1:49Speaker 1: he communicates that to those students.
- 1:52Speaker 5: What's he saying?
- 1:53Speaker 1: Yeah, what's he saying? And I feel like there's going
- 1:55Speaker 1: to be some discussion of that. But I guess it's
- 1:57Speaker 1: not the worst problem to have. But I did want
- 1:59Speaker 1: to know, like, when you were growing up, Gabe, I
- 2:03Speaker 1: feel like you were probably problem. What were the teachers
- 2:09Speaker 1: saying about you at parent-teacher conferences? And also, what did
- 2:13Speaker 1: the teachers say about you at conferences? 701-280-1987. We also
- 2:18Speaker 1: have this up on the Facebook page. I just want
- 2:20Speaker 1: to be prepared for anything.
- 2:22Speaker 3: It sounds like Liam is nine going on 59. This
- 2:24Speaker 3: dude sounds like a grown man. He's going to be.
- 2:27Speaker 5: A teacher's pet. Be like, oh, like he just tattles
- 2:30Speaker 5: on the kids to the teacher. And yeah, it's great.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, I don't want that. I don't want
- 2:34Speaker 1: him to be a snitch.
- 2:36Speaker 5: Well, maybe he wants to be though.
- 2:37Speaker 1: I mean, as long as I guess it's his school experience.
- 2:41Speaker 1: If he is happy to be the snitch, fine, I guess.
- 2:47Speaker 2: I feel like Megan, was that you?
- 2:49Speaker 5: I was a teacher's pet.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I can see that a mile away.
- 2:54Speaker 6: I was not one to, like, tell on people, but,
- 2:56Speaker 6: I mean, if they needed help with something, I mean,
- 2:59Speaker 6: I would volunteer for everything and anything, and I would
- 3:01Speaker 6: definitely have answers to whatever the question was.
- 3:04Speaker 1: Were you, like, a lead-by-example kind of student?
- 3:06Speaker 5: I think so, yes. Versus a bossy one? Oh, big time.
- 3:08Speaker 1: I was a leader. No, you were a leader. I
- 3:11Speaker 1: was definitely a.
- 3:11Speaker 5: Leader, yeah.
- 3:12Speaker 2: Megan and I would have hated each other in fourth grade.
- 3:15Speaker 7: Why?
- 3:15Speaker 5: I got along with everybody, though.
- 3:17Speaker 3: Because Megan was the one who reminded the teacher to
- 3:20Speaker 3: take the homework.
- 3:22Speaker 4: Gosh.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Shut up, Megan. I'm just kidding. I.
- 3:28Speaker 3: At parent-teacher conferences, I'm finding out on Facebook here, I
- 3:32Speaker 3: think every teacher tells every parent that their student talks
- 3:35Speaker 3: too much.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Of course, I got a lot of that growing up.
- 3:37Speaker 4: Oh, yeah.
- 3:38Speaker 2: I believe that. Everyone says this.
- 3:41Speaker 3: Dakota Breyer, she said, talks too much and always started
- 3:44Speaker 3: off my sentences with the word like when I try
- 3:47Speaker 3: to chime in on things. Amanda is kind of more
- 3:51Speaker 3: on the Megan side here. Amanda said that I was
- 3:53Speaker 3: quiet and well-behaved is what her teacher said about her.
- 3:56Speaker 8: Okay.
- 3:56Speaker 1: I was not quiet. Look at these laugh emojis after.
- 4:00Speaker 1: I have a feeling Amanda is no longer quiet and well-behaved.
- 4:05Speaker 3: Look at this here. Leticia, that I talk too much. Dave,
- 4:08Speaker 3: talk too much. Debbie, talks too much. Alicia, talks too much.
- 4:13Speaker 3: All right, teachers, I love and respect you. A lot
- 4:15Speaker 3: of my great friends are teachers. We might have to
- 4:17Speaker 3: find something new to say about every student that's ever
- 4:20Speaker 3: been in school.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Everyone's a yapper. Well, what about Chris? His was does
- 4:23Speaker 1: not work well with others.
- 4:26Speaker 2: My parents would not have appreciated that. The talks too much.
- 4:29Speaker 3: They kind of could get over a lot of times
- 4:32Speaker 3: when I was at conferences. It was, you know, yeah,
- 4:35Speaker 3: he jokes around and talks in class. But I was
- 4:38Speaker 3: I wasn't like a bad student.
- 4:41Speaker 5: You know, I was still getting good grades.
- 4:42Speaker 3: I would still get all my stuff done and get
- 4:44Speaker 3: solid grades. Yeah, I was like a B student, probably
- 4:48Speaker 3: a B, a student in gym.
- 4:50Speaker 5: In gym yeah my.
- 4:51Speaker 3: Favorite class the one that i would get a lot
- 4:54Speaker 3: though would be like he uh tries to hurry up
- 4:57Speaker 3: and get his work done too fast because obviously i
- 4:59Speaker 3: wanted to not be doing it so i'm a sophomore
- 5:03Speaker 3: exactly i wanted to horse around in class and so
- 5:05Speaker 3: i would sprint through work which teachers didn't love because
- 5:09Speaker 3: i would be done so fast but then i would
- 5:11Speaker 3: turn it in and it would i'd get a good
- 5:13Speaker 3: grade Oh, so they really kind of hated the fact
- 5:17Speaker 3: that I would try to sprint through it, do pretty well.
- 5:20Speaker 2: And they were like, maybe he slowed down.
- 5:21Speaker 3: He could, instead of getting the 88%, he'd get a
- 5:24Speaker 3: 94% or something.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Did you ever follow that advice? Zero, I have not
- 5:27Speaker 2: followed that advice to almost being.
- 5:29Speaker 4: 36 years old. It's still not doing it.
- 5:32Speaker 3: Never going to change, ever. I'm going to sprint through
- 5:35Speaker 3: everything as fast as I can do it. ADHD superpower.
- 5:38Speaker 1: I really hope that Liam is not listening right now
- 5:42Speaker 1: because I do not want him to pick up this habit.
- 5:45Speaker 2: I would have been one of the kids Liam was
- 5:46Speaker 2: yelling at.
- 5:47Speaker 3: Angie's son yelling at me is hilarious.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Oh, it could happen. You just wait.
- 5:53Speaker 2: What did they say about you at school?
- 5:55Speaker 1: Oh, it was a dream to have in class. I
- 5:58Speaker 1: really was.
- 5:59Speaker 3: I was.
- 6:00Speaker 1: A little bit of a teacher's pet.
- 6:02Speaker 4: See?
- 6:03Speaker 1: I'm a rule follower.
- 6:06Speaker 3: They love that.
- 6:09Speaker 2: Exactly. Come on.
- 6:10Speaker 3: 701-280-1987. What did your teacher say about you at conferences,
- 6:14Speaker 3: as parent-teacher conferences, rolling around here in the FM area?
- 6:18Speaker 4: Drop it, drop it. Big 98.7.
- 6:21Speaker 7: Celebrating life's little victories. Every morning we practice gratitude on
- 6:26Speaker 7: Big 98.7. If I could, I would.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Keep this feeling in a plastic jar. Bust it out
- 6:31Speaker 2: whenever someone's acting hard.
- 6:33Speaker 7: Share your little victories with us at 701-280-1987.
- 6:37Speaker 4: Kids, I also.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Needed a win that day.
- 6:40Speaker 3: All right, Megan, what do you got for us here today?
- 6:43Speaker 3: We'll let you hit lead off.
- 6:44Speaker 6: Okay, so fun fact about me, and I'm not sure
- 6:47Speaker 6: if it's a really fun fact, is I am terrible
- 6:49Speaker 6: at napping.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Like, awful at it.
- 6:51Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, I have this same problem.
- 6:53Speaker 6: Like, I can never take a nap when I'm... But yesterday,
- 6:57Speaker 6: your girl got home, and I sat down on the
- 6:59Speaker 6: couch for a little while.
- 7:00Speaker 5: And I fell asleep for an hour and it was glorious.
- 7:03Speaker 2: That's actually the most magical thing I've ever heard. That
- 7:06Speaker 2: is beautiful.
- 7:07Speaker 7: Yep.
- 7:07Speaker 6: I woke up falling a little bit, but I was like,
- 7:09Speaker 6: oh my gosh, I clearly needed that. Like that, just
- 7:11Speaker 6: that hour of sleep. I didn't even plan it, but
- 7:13Speaker 6: it happened. And the dogs just cuddled up next to me.
- 7:16Speaker 6: They didn't cry.
- 7:17Speaker 5: They didn't whine. They were like, oh, we're going to
- 7:18Speaker 5: nap with mom.
- 7:18Speaker 1: They could sense it. They were like, mama needs a nap.
- 7:21Speaker 3: Yeah, and it was kind of gross outside, so they
- 7:23Speaker 3: also wanted some cuddles today.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Right.
- 7:26Speaker 5: It was that day yesterday.
- 7:27Speaker 4: Yeah, right.
- 7:28Speaker 5: Ange, what about yours?
- 7:30Speaker 1: Okay, so Halloween, obviously on Saturday, and I made the
- 7:34Speaker 1: terrible choice of waiting a little bit too long to
- 7:38Speaker 1: order my child's costume. And when I did order it,
- 7:42Speaker 1: it was like, don't worry, it'll be there well before Halloween.
- 7:47Speaker 1: Then I got a notification yesterday morning that said, Shipment
- 7:51Speaker 1: delayed may arrive after Halloween, which what do I do
- 7:55Speaker 1: with that? What do I do with that? Go to
- 7:58Speaker 1: Spirit Halloween and buy the exact same costume again and
- 8:01Speaker 1: then go to Kohl's to return this one when it
- 8:04Speaker 1: finally shows up. But when it's a Halloween costume, there's
- 8:07Speaker 1: like weird restrictions on when you can return it. All
- 8:11Speaker 1: that to say, I got another notification this morning that said, oh,
- 8:15Speaker 1: it's on the way. It's expected later today.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Just kidding.
- 8:20Speaker 1: I don't have to go through all of that annoying nonsense.
- 8:23Speaker 1: I can just wait for it to arrive on my doorstep.
- 8:27Speaker 2: You got it with a just kidding from Coles?
- 8:29Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 8:30Speaker 3: That's the biggest W I've ever heard.
- 8:33Speaker 2: I know, that's amazing.
- 8:34Speaker 4: Good for you.
- 8:35Speaker 2: What about you, Gabe?
- 8:36Speaker 1: What's your little victory?
- 8:37Speaker 2: Well, I have two.
- 8:38Speaker 3: One's kind of a mini one, but Corey and I
- 8:41Speaker 3: are getting the Halloween costumes ready to dress up with Kaylee.
- 8:44Speaker 3: She is going as Hedwig from Harry Potter.
- 8:46Speaker 8: So cute.
- 8:47Speaker 3: She has the cutest... Owl-looking onesie. Jumper.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Jumper, yeah.
- 8:53Speaker 3: And yesterday, our outfits arrived as we are going, obviously,
- 8:58Speaker 3: of course, as Gryffindor students from Harry Potter.
- 9:01Speaker 4: Yes.
- 9:02Speaker 3: And I was tying Corey's tie because, obviously, you know,
- 9:05Speaker 3: she's never really tied a tie. She had to go
- 9:07Speaker 3: with your boy who's tied a billion ties.
- 9:08Speaker 5: Oh, that's right.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Now, if you don't know this, I have used this
- 9:11Speaker 3: same YouTube video to tie a tie a billion times.
- 9:14Speaker 1: You can't ever remember it on your own, but you
- 9:17Speaker 1: know which one to go to.
- 9:19Speaker 3: I know exactly the video, and I got it exactly
- 9:23Speaker 3: right first try, and I actually didn't really need the
- 9:25Speaker 3: video like halfway through. I just need it for the
- 9:27Speaker 3: first like little, wait, does it go inside and around,
- 9:29Speaker 3: up and around or whatever?
- 9:30Speaker 2: And I got it first shot.
- 9:32Speaker 3: So Corey's tie is ready to go to be a
- 9:36Speaker 3: Gryffindor student. My other little victory, my daughter slept a
- 9:39Speaker 3: full eight hours last night.
- 9:40Speaker 4: Come on.
- 9:42Speaker 2: That's huge. I am in here fired up and ready
- 9:45Speaker 2: to go.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh.
- 9:46Speaker 3: Corey and I both woke up at about 4.15, and
- 9:48Speaker 3: she was feeding Kaylee, and I said, oh, did she?
- 9:50Speaker 2: Wait, she didn't wake up last night? She goes, no.
- 9:54Speaker 2: There's like a single.
- 9:55Speaker 3: Tear that went down Corey slept for like 12 hours.
- 9:59Speaker 2: It was great. What a beautiful, beautiful Wednesday.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Lovely.
- 10:09Speaker 3: All week long, we have been celebrating Angie and my
- 10:13Speaker 3: costumes here on Big 98.7.
- 10:15Speaker 1: Your costumes, Gabe. What?
- 10:17Speaker 3: I am a sexy North Pacific railway worker.
- 10:21Speaker 6: Just tagging on sexy does not count.
- 10:24Speaker 2: How doesn't it?
- 10:26Speaker 5: I at least have Halloween pants on.
- 10:28Speaker 6: Come on.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Yeah, that's right. She's on it.
- 10:31Speaker 2: I'm actually starting to get really offended.
- 10:32Speaker 5: I'm a vibe. You're nothing. Angie's the one who's getting
- 10:35Speaker 5: dressed up.
- 10:36Speaker 8: Oh, my God. Wait.
- 10:37Speaker 1: Megan literally said, I'm a vibe. You're nothing to you, Gabe.
- 10:43Speaker 1: And that's my favorite.
- 10:44Speaker 2: I don't understand how sexy.
- 10:46Speaker 1: Clip that.
- 10:47Speaker 3: I don't understand how sexy North Pacific Railway worker is
- 10:50Speaker 3: in a costume.
- 10:51Speaker 4: We did this.
- 10:52Speaker 3: I wore this outfit for People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive
- 10:55Speaker 3: last year in our photo shoot.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Oh, you know what? You did do that.
- 10:58Speaker 4: See?
- 10:59Speaker 2: It all comes back around. All right.
- 11:01Speaker 1: Let's get it together, Gabe.
- 11:04Speaker 3: OK, you might have heard of the you betcha media brand.
- 11:08Speaker 3: It was actually started by this man named Miles, the
- 11:12Speaker 3: you betcha guy who actually grew up in Fargo. I
- 11:15Speaker 3: see his stuff on social media all the time.
- 11:17Speaker 1: So do I. And I did not know that he
- 11:19Speaker 1: grew up in Fargo.
- 11:19Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 11:20Speaker 3: And he went around at some Midwest bars and he asked,
- 11:23Speaker 3: what is the most attractive blue collar job? You might
- 11:28Speaker 3: have a hubby who all he's got to do is
- 11:30Speaker 3: put on his work uniform and And go as that
- 11:33Speaker 3: for Halloween.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Yeah, as sexy bling.
- 11:35Speaker 2: Exactly. So 701-280-1987.
- 11:38Speaker 3: What are the most attractive blue-collar jobs?
- 11:43Speaker 2: What about you two? What do you two think?
- 11:44Speaker 5: This is good.
- 11:45Speaker 1: I think a plumber.
- 11:46Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 11:46Speaker 5: Yes, because.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Because of all the money?
- 11:50Speaker 5: I've got so many comebacks that I'm not going to.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Say right now.
- 11:53Speaker 2: Plumbers can make great money.
- 11:54Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think Megan's got a pipe joke in
- 11:57Speaker 1: her butt. Yes, I do.
- 12:00Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 12:01Speaker 1: No, I think it's because plumbers... Nothing is sexier, especially
- 12:05Speaker 1: in 2026, than being employed. And I feel like plumbers
- 12:09Speaker 1: will always be in demand.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Forever, yeah.
- 12:11Speaker 1: Because we all, everybody poops. And so I feel like
- 12:15Speaker 1: plumbers have job security.
- 12:17Speaker 2: Forever.
- 12:18Speaker 1: And that is very sexy. Thank you very much.
- 12:21Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:21Speaker 2: All right, that's a good call. What about you, Megan?
- 12:24Speaker 6: I am definitely, I grew up around construction, so I
- 12:27Speaker 6: love a good construction worker. I like a man's man
- 12:30Speaker 6: who knows how to handle his tools.
- 12:32Speaker 1: Oh, okay.
- 12:34Speaker 2: Wow. Just saying. So you like a nice yellow vest.
- 12:38Speaker 5: No, doesn't need to have a vest. That's like road construction.
- 12:41Speaker 5: What about the hat? She's like, I don't.
- 12:43Speaker 1: Like road work.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Okay.
- 12:45Speaker 1: I'm not saying that.
- 12:46Speaker 5: I'm not saying that.
- 12:47Speaker 2: What about the hard hat?
- 12:48Speaker 5: The hard hat, yeah.
- 12:50Speaker 2: That does it for you?
- 12:51Speaker 1: I love all of that.
- 12:52Speaker 5: I love this.
- 12:53Speaker 2: Bring all of it on. 701-280-1987.
- 12:56Speaker 3: Once again, let us know what you think the sexiest
- 12:58Speaker 3: blue-collar job is.
- 13:00Speaker 2: And we do have this up on Facebook. And I
- 13:02Speaker 2: was waiting.
- 13:03Speaker 3: I knew that this was going to happen the second
- 13:05Speaker 3: I opened up the comments here. Sean said, boiler operator
- 13:09Speaker 3: would be my guess.
- 13:10Speaker 1: Oh, it was the hottest blue-collar job?
- 13:13Speaker 2: I saw that coming.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Okay, Sean. Well, Crystal. Oh, our friend Crystal. She said,
- 13:20Speaker 1: installing carpet. It's what my husband does, and it's how
- 13:24Speaker 1: we met. So I'm biased.
- 13:25Speaker 2: That's beautiful.
- 13:26Speaker 1: That's amazing.
- 13:26Speaker 2: I love that.
- 13:27Speaker 3: That is beautiful. Brittany said, electrical linemen. I would think
- 13:32Speaker 3: any type of electric work for blue-collar work. is going
- 13:35Speaker 3: to be we would fall into Angie's category of always employed.
- 13:39Speaker 3: If you are 17, 18 years old and you don't
- 13:43Speaker 3: know what you want to do with your life, I'm
- 13:44Speaker 3: telling you right now, go be an electrician. They are
- 13:46Speaker 3: building AI data centers by the gajillions.
- 13:51Speaker 4: Oh, there's a ton.
- 13:52Speaker 2: And what do they need to operate? Electricity.
- 13:55Speaker 3: OK, you will have a job forever if you become
- 13:58Speaker 3: an electrical worker.
- 13:59Speaker 2: Construction jobs. Nicole said she's with you, Megan.
- 14:02Speaker 5: She is with me. Thank you, Nicole.
- 14:04Speaker 2: We're going to.
- 14:05Speaker 1: Spot you guys out on construction site, aren't we?
- 14:08Speaker 2: Well, we also do have Emily on the phone. Emily,
- 14:10Speaker 2: what would you say?
- 14:11Speaker 4: Farming.
- 14:13Speaker 1: His tractor's pretty sexy.
- 14:15Speaker 2: Ah, that's what she did. I see what she did there.
- 14:17Speaker 5: Farming's good, too.
- 14:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:18Speaker 1: All right.
- 14:19Speaker 2: Let us know.
- 14:19Speaker 3: Most attractive blue-collar job at 701-280-1987. And once again, if
- 14:25Speaker 3: your hubby or your boyfriend does any of these jobs,
- 14:28Speaker 3: you have to do zero work for Halloween because he
- 14:32Speaker 3: can just go as that.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Like I do. And put sexy in front of it.
- 14:36Speaker 4: Wow.
- 14:36Speaker 5: Did we say radio sexy?
- 14:39Speaker 4: Big 98.7. This is Am I the Problem?
- 14:43Speaker 2: It's me.
- 14:44Speaker 4: Hi.
- 14:46Speaker 1: I'm the problem.
- 14:47Speaker 6: It's me.
- 14:48Speaker 4: We'll hear one side of the story and with your help.
- 14:51Speaker 1: Am I the problem?
- 14:52Speaker 7: Decide if it's right or if maybe you're the problem.
- 14:56Speaker 5: I'm hardly the problem.
- 14:57Speaker 4: On Big 98.7.
- 15:00Speaker 1: This could be a tricky one. And this person has
- 15:05Speaker 1: chosen to stay anonymous. Hey, you three, not sure where
- 15:09Speaker 1: to go for help with this. So I hope that
- 15:11Speaker 1: maybe one of your listeners can offer me some advice,
- 15:14Speaker 1: but also keep me anonymous.
- 15:17Speaker 8: Oh, my.
- 15:17Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 15:47Speaker 1: And basically, is there a way to tell him this
- 15:50Speaker 1: that won't totally ruin everything if he doesn't want to date?
- 15:53Speaker 1: I just don't want to screw everything up forever. Again,
- 15:57Speaker 1: please keep me anonymous. Natasha works for me if you
- 16:00Speaker 1: want to call me that.
- 16:01Speaker 2: I love that she added that part in.
- 16:02Speaker 1: So Natasha needs your help. 701-280-1987. Call us, text us.
- 16:09Speaker 1: We also have this up on the Big 98.7 Facebook
- 16:10Speaker 1: page online. What advice do you have? Have you ever
- 16:15Speaker 1: been in a friends with benefits situation?
- 16:16Speaker 3: Can I just give a big round of applause? Friends
- 16:19Speaker 3: with benefits for five years? That is the strongest friends
- 16:22Speaker 3: with benefits situation I've ever heard in my life.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Yeah, same.
- 16:25Speaker 5: How are there not more feelings, like, for both sides?
- 16:28Speaker 1: Okay, that is what is my concern, because she wants
- 16:32Speaker 1: to date, but I feel like if he wanted to,
- 16:35Speaker 1: he would have been already... moved in that direction.
- 16:38Speaker 6: I think that she needs to be prepared for that.
- 16:41Speaker 6: That if you decide to go and say, hey, I'd
- 16:45Speaker 6: actually like to try dating you, that you need to
- 16:47Speaker 6: be prepared that he's going to say no. And then
- 16:50Speaker 6: it might hurt your feelings and it might be over.
- 16:53Speaker 1: And it might be. That's the thing. I think she
- 16:55Speaker 1: is prepared for him to say no, but she doesn't
- 16:58Speaker 1: want to screw everything up forever. So I guess Is
- 17:01Speaker 1: it that Natasha text us? Like, is it that if
- 17:04Speaker 1: he says no, then you'll be like, OK, fine. Just
- 17:07Speaker 1: friends with benefits is fine.
- 17:08Speaker 6: But it's never going to be fine with you. If
- 17:10Speaker 6: you've grown feelings now, it's never going to be OK
- 17:13Speaker 6: with you. Like, she's never going to be able to
- 17:16Speaker 6: come back from that.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Like, yeah, I mean, I could see that. Gabe, what
- 17:19Speaker 1: are your thoughts on this?
- 17:21Speaker 2: Do you actually want to know?
- 17:23Speaker 1: I do actually want to know because I'm not sure.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Have you been in a friends? Were you ever someone's
- 17:27Speaker 1: friend with benefits?
- 17:29Speaker 2: I don't think so. Well, even if it.
- 17:34Speaker 1: Hasn't happened to you, what are your thoughts? Like, what
- 17:36Speaker 1: do you think she should do as a dude? I
- 17:38Speaker 1: guess here's my question as a dude. Let's say she
- 17:41Speaker 1: does say, Hey, I want to whatever. And he doesn't.
- 17:44Speaker 1: Do you think that now? Even if she wants to
- 17:46Speaker 1: go back with friends with benefits, do you think that
- 17:49Speaker 1: the guy is now not going to be into it
- 17:50Speaker 1: because he's going to be worried the whole time?
- 17:52Speaker 3: Natasha, my sweet Natasha here. That dude likes you, okay?
- 17:57Speaker 3: I'm telling you right now. How he likes the one half, what,
- 18:00Speaker 3: do you think he's not going to like chilling with
- 18:02Speaker 3: you on the couch, eating popcorn, watching Lion King with
- 18:05Speaker 3: your three-month-old daughter? It'll be all right. Just tell him
- 18:07Speaker 3: you like him. He's going to like you back. And
- 18:09Speaker 3: if he doesn't, that's horrible advice, but good luck.
- 18:14Speaker 5: You don't have anything else beyond that, but yeah.
- 18:16Speaker 2: Just tell him. I promise you he'll go on a
- 18:19Speaker 2: date or two.
- 18:20Speaker 1: You think so?
- 18:21Speaker 2: I am that confident.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Oh, I like that, Gabe. That's very optimistic of you.
- 18:25Speaker 1: I feel like Megan and I both were like, I
- 18:27Speaker 1: don't know, girl.
- 18:28Speaker 2: Here's what I'm saying.
- 18:29Speaker 3: If the benefits is going well for five years, that
- 18:33Speaker 3: dude definitely likes you.
- 18:35Speaker 4: Okay.
- 18:35Speaker 3: There's no chance he wouldn't be like, oh, yeah, let's
- 18:38Speaker 3: go get a coffee or whatever you do on dates.
- 18:40Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 18:40Speaker 5: I get what you're saying.
- 18:41Speaker 6: Five years, they got married, and then they came back around.
- 18:44Speaker 6: They're like, oh, I remember these benefits.
- 18:46Speaker 2: Let's go. Yeah.
- 18:48Speaker 3: Maybe that dude's ready to, you know, you both get
- 18:50Speaker 3: home from work, you're in the kitchen doing the dishes,
- 18:52Speaker 3: making up some mashed potatoes and Swedish meatballs.
- 18:54Speaker 2: It's the greatest love story ever told.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Gabe, this really sounds like your life with Corey. Is
- 19:00Speaker 1: this how you guys got together? You're being so specific.
- 19:05Speaker 2: Everything we talked.
- 19:06Speaker 5: About yesterday is what you're now talking about.
- 19:08Speaker 3: No, that's not how we got together, but we did
- 19:10Speaker 3: make Swedish meatballs the other day, and I hope that Natasha.
- 19:13Speaker 2: Can find that.
- 19:15Speaker 1: What do you think? Let us know.
- 19:18Speaker 7: 701-280-1987.
- 19:18Speaker 1: Is she going to ruin it all if she tells
- 19:20Speaker 1: her dude, hey, I mean her kind of dude, hey,
- 19:23Speaker 1: I want to be more than just friends. We had
- 19:32Speaker 1: Natasha write in to us and her name ain't Natasha.
- 19:34Speaker 1: She wanted to be kept anonymous, but chose the name Natasha.
- 19:38Speaker 1: And essentially she's got a friends with benefits. They've been
- 19:41Speaker 1: friends for 15 years, but whenever they are benefiting each other,
- 19:46Speaker 1: they stay exclusive.
- 19:48Speaker 2: What a way to put it.
- 19:49Speaker 8: Exactly.
- 19:50Speaker 1: It was like five years exclusive, but then if they
- 19:54Speaker 1: met someone, then they could, they would. Cut off the
- 19:56Speaker 1: benefits and then whatever. So they both eventually got married
- 19:59Speaker 1: to other people. Now they're single again. They already kicked
- 20:03Speaker 1: back up the friends with benefits situation. But she wants more.
- 20:07Speaker 1: She wants to potentially date in real life. And she
- 20:10Speaker 1: doesn't know how to bring that up to him without
- 20:12Speaker 1: screwing up the whole situation. So she wants your advice
- 20:15Speaker 1: and our advice. Can she ask if this can be
- 20:19Speaker 1: something more without messing it up? because there is the
- 20:22Speaker 1: chance that he says no, but she doesn't want to
- 20:24Speaker 1: screw up the entire thing. So it is a tricky situation.
- 20:28Speaker 3: Don said on Facebook, maybe a gamble, but roll the dice.
- 20:32Speaker 3: Tell him how you feel. This is the best part
- 20:34Speaker 3: of this. The answer is always no.
- 20:37Speaker 2: If you don't ask.
- 20:39Speaker 8: Dang.
- 20:39Speaker 2: That is true.
- 20:40Speaker 5: I love that.
- 20:41Speaker 1: Yeah, that's actually really right.
- 20:42Speaker 3: I was kind of thinking about this. So she thought
- 20:44Speaker 3: they were FWBs for five years, right?
- 20:47Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:48Speaker 3: Did they ever hang out outside of the benefiting part?
- 20:50Speaker 3: Because what if this dude thought they were together for
- 20:53Speaker 3: five years?
- 20:54Speaker 6: No, I thought about this, too, where I was like, okay,
- 20:56Speaker 6: friends with benefits, but they're friends, right? So they're hanging out,
- 21:00Speaker 6: they're doing stuff together. Five years, like, you're.
- 21:03Speaker 4: Not a couple?
- 21:04Speaker 2: That sounds like a couple.
- 21:05Speaker 1: Yeah, it kind of does. I mean, I wonder maybe you... Okay,
- 21:11Speaker 1: I got it. You sit down together, and you watch back-to-back,
- 21:16Speaker 1: no strings attached, with Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman, and...
- 21:21Speaker 1: Is it called Friends with Benefits?
- 21:22Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 21:22Speaker 1: With Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis and just like keep
- 21:25Speaker 1: looking over at him to see how he's feeling. Yeah.
- 21:30Speaker 3: Or you could go basically the exact same movie called
- 21:33Speaker 3: No Strings Attached with Natalie Portman.
- 21:35Speaker 2: Just play those back to back.
- 21:36Speaker 5: Did she not just say that?
- 21:37Speaker 1: I literally just said it. I know that you tune out.
- 21:39Speaker 2: Did you say Justin Timberlake?
- 21:41Speaker 1: I said both movies, sir.
- 21:43Speaker 2: The way you just tuned me out. I was reading
- 21:47Speaker 2: a long comment on Facebook.
- 21:48Speaker 1: I'm sorry.
- 21:49Speaker 8: My bad.
- 21:51Speaker 5: So great.
- 21:52Speaker 6: And that's what happens when you decide to go from
- 21:55Speaker 6: friends with benefits to in a relationship.
- 21:58Speaker 2: I was trying to do two things at once. I'm sorry.
- 22:01Speaker 1: But clearly what you were reading on Facebook, the comment
- 22:03Speaker 1: was probably really good. So let's get some advice for Natasha.
- 22:06Speaker 2: This is from Taryn.
- 22:07Speaker 3: It says, oh, dude, my bestie of 15 plus years
- 22:10Speaker 3: is now my boyfriend of four plus years. He used
- 22:12Speaker 3: the Katniss I volunteer as tribute meme to hint he
- 22:16Speaker 3: was interested while keeping the stakes low. In the end, though,
- 22:20Speaker 3: communication wins out. It could be as simple as, hey,
- 22:22Speaker 3: if you're interested in trying things out, I am as well.
- 22:25Speaker 3: But if not, I'm definitely happy with the status quo. See,
- 22:28Speaker 3: that was kind of hard to pay attention to you
- 22:30Speaker 3: and read that paragraph at the same time.
- 22:32Speaker 1: And truthfully, she had better advice than whatever nonsense I
- 22:34Speaker 1: was saying. Taryn, you're not wrong.
- 22:37Speaker 6: And hey, Chris over, she texted in and said, I
- 22:40Speaker 6: had to make the first move with my husband. We
- 22:42Speaker 6: were best friends before we started dating. We decided to
- 22:46Speaker 6: see where it goes. And so far, we've been together
- 22:48Speaker 6: for 32 years, married 31.
- 22:49Speaker 3: See?
- 22:49Speaker 4: Okay.
- 22:52Speaker 1: It can work.
- 22:53Speaker 5: I love this.
- 22:53Speaker 3: The love story wins in the end, Natasha.
- 22:56Speaker 2: I say you go for it.
- 22:57Speaker 3: And I also say ask him if he thought you
- 22:59Speaker 3: were together because he probably did.
- 23:05Speaker 1: All right.
- 23:05Speaker 4: Halloween.
- 23:06Speaker 5: It's almost here. We've been celebrating. Angie's been dressing up
- 23:09Speaker 5: in her costume.
- 23:10Speaker 6: Gabe has been adding sexy to whatever he thinks he's
- 23:13Speaker 6: dressed as.
- 23:15Speaker 3: And I have accomplished that mission for the first three
- 23:17Speaker 3: days this week.
- 23:17Speaker 1: All right.
- 23:19Speaker 6: Well, we're going to find out what's scarier, though. An
- 23:21Speaker 6: actual ghost or the dating pool? I've got my thoughts
- 23:25Speaker 6: on this.
- 23:25Speaker 2: Man, I've been out of that pool for a while.
- 23:28Speaker 5: I have not. I've been in here too long. But
- 23:31Speaker 5: Gabe and Angie are going to go head-to-head in what
- 23:33Speaker 5: I am calling ghosted or haunted.
- 23:35Speaker 6: So what I'm going to do is I'm going to
- 23:36Speaker 6: give you a clue, and then you've got to tell
- 23:38Speaker 6: me which situation you think we're dealing with, ghosted or haunted.
- 23:42Speaker 4: Okay.
- 23:42Speaker 5: Are you ready for this?
- 23:44Speaker 4: Yes.
- 23:44Speaker 5: All right. They only communicate through signs.
- 23:50Speaker 1: That's haunted. Haunted, right?
- 23:53Speaker 5: You're going haunted, Gabe?
- 23:56Speaker 2: It's got to be haunted.
- 23:57Speaker 5: You're going to go haunted, too?
- 23:59Speaker 6: It's ghosted because apparently three emojis and a heart reaction
- 24:02Speaker 6: counts as a conversation now.
- 24:04Speaker 7: Ew.
- 24:04Speaker 1: Hate it.
- 24:06Speaker 5: Hate it.
- 24:06Speaker 2: You know what?
- 24:07Speaker 8: Right?
- 24:07Speaker 5: I do hate it, but this is right.
- 24:08Speaker 2: I'm going to stop playing the game. I'm going to
- 24:10Speaker 2: start playing the woman.
- 24:11Speaker 6: Okay.
- 24:11Speaker 2: All right. I've changed my strat here.
- 24:14Speaker 6: Okay.
- 24:14Speaker 8: Okay.
- 24:15Speaker 5: He's emotionally unavailable.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Ghosted.
- 24:19Speaker 6: Ghosted.
- 24:20Speaker 2: Haunted.
- 24:21Speaker 5: Angie gets it right. Ghosted, unless it's 1.30 in the morning.
- 24:25Speaker 1: Dang it.
- 24:28Speaker 2: That's a trick question.
- 24:30Speaker 5: He gives her the cold shoulder.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Haunted.
- 24:35Speaker 5: You're going haunted?
- 24:36Speaker 3: Yes.
- 24:37Speaker 1: I watched The Sixth Sense last night.
- 24:38Speaker 2: I watched Casper the other day, and ghosts are pretty cool.
- 24:41Speaker 7: Okay.
- 24:42Speaker 2: Temperature-wise.
- 24:43Speaker 4: Okay, okay.
- 24:43Speaker 5: Temperature-wise.
- 24:45Speaker 3: So I'm going to go, but he gives you the
- 24:47Speaker 3: cold shoulder. That means he's ignoring you. I'm thinking way
- 24:49Speaker 3: too hard about this. Let's do haunted.
- 24:51Speaker 5: You're going haunted.
- 24:52Speaker 1: You're both right. The room drops.
- 24:55Speaker 5: 20 degrees whenever he appears.
- 24:56Speaker 1: It's very literal.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Good job.
- 25:00Speaker 5: He only comes around at night.
- 25:03Speaker 2: Haunted. Ghosted.
- 25:06Speaker 5: And the answer is ghosted. And always starts with, you up?
- 25:10Speaker 4: See?
- 25:12Speaker 1: I'm a woman who knows things.
- 25:14Speaker 2: It's crazy. I've never fired off one of those texts before.
- 25:17Speaker 5: A good liar. She feels someone watching her.
- 25:23Speaker 1: Haunted.
- 25:23Speaker 3: Dang it, you beat me to it. I don't want
- 25:26Speaker 3: to always pick the same answers, but I will also
- 25:28Speaker 3: go with haunted.
- 25:29Speaker 5: Ghosted.
- 25:30Speaker 6: He has viewed every Instagram though story for six months.
- 25:34Speaker 2: Dang it!
- 25:35Speaker 1: I like this.
- 25:37Speaker 5: He refuses to leave.
- 25:40Speaker 1: Haunted.
- 25:41Speaker 5: You're going to go haunted?
- 25:43Speaker 2: Ghosted. And it's going to be like leave the DMs
- 25:46Speaker 2: or something.
- 25:48Speaker 1: It's haunted.
- 25:48Speaker 5: He's been in the house since 1887. And last but
- 25:53Speaker 5: not least, he keeps moving her things.
- 25:57Speaker 2: Haunted. Ghosted.
- 25:59Speaker 5: It's haunted. The furniture is always moving.
- 26:01Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 26:01Speaker 5: Oh, Angie like dominated five to one.
- 26:05Speaker 1: So I'm the winner.
- 26:10Speaker 6: Okay, I love everything about this because I know, Angie,
- 26:15Speaker 6: you like Hallmark Christmas movies.
- 26:17Speaker 1: I'm a diehard. Are they good? No. But are they excellent?
- 26:21Speaker 4: Yes.
- 26:21Speaker 5: Exactly.
- 26:22Speaker 2: All in the same.
- 26:23Speaker 5: Yes.
- 26:24Speaker 6: And this is why this is so special and this
- 26:26Speaker 6: is so wonderful because it's kind of in our backyard.
- 26:29Speaker 5: The Midget Minnesota.
- 26:31Speaker 6: Is officially a Hallmark Christmastown.
- 26:35Speaker 2: All right.
- 26:36Speaker 4: Wait, what does this mean?
- 26:37Speaker 6: Okay, so they actually placed in the top 25 in
- 26:41Speaker 6: the Hallmark Channel's Merriest Christmastowns contest that they had.
- 26:46Speaker 1: This is amazing.
- 26:47Speaker 6: They were more than 1,500 submissions nationwide.
- 26:50Speaker 5: And, of course, there was voting that happened and everything else.
- 26:53Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 26:53Speaker 6: They just found out that they made the top 25,
- 26:56Speaker 6: and they have been stamped and recognized as an official
- 26:59Speaker 6: Hallmark Christmas town because of it, which is awesome.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Okay, so then what's the next step? How do we
- 27:04Speaker 1: get them to number one?
- 27:06Speaker 5: Well, they already have a number one. It was this
- 27:09Speaker 5: town called Carlinville, Illinois.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Oh, I thought we had to whittle it down.
- 27:12Speaker 5: No, unfortunately.
- 27:14Speaker 6: But the top 25... they still get the stamp or whatever.
- 27:17Speaker 6: And I think that's awesome, and it's great marketing, really,
- 27:20Speaker 6: at the end of the day. So Carlinville, Illinois took
- 27:23Speaker 6: the number one spot. So they are going to have
- 27:26Speaker 6: a Hallmark movie filmed there, which, okay, so now next
- 27:30Speaker 6: time this happens, we need to make sure that a
- 27:32Speaker 6: town close by happens, and.
- 27:33Speaker 2: We're voting the heck out of it.
- 27:34Speaker 1: Okay, well, no, no, no, this is fine. Why don't
- 27:36Speaker 1: we do our version? Let's go to Bemidji. Oh, yes,
- 27:39Speaker 1: we're doing this. And let's film our own FOMARC movie.
- 27:42Speaker 1: Christmas movie.
- 27:43Speaker 3: How do you get it to number one, Angie? You
- 27:45Speaker 3: vote in 2027.
- 27:47Speaker 2: Okay, you know what?
- 27:48Speaker 1: You shut your mouth when you're talking to me, Gabe.
- 27:50Speaker 1: You've been on one with me today.
- 27:52Speaker 5: We are going to Bemidji. I'll help film this.
- 27:55Speaker 1: I love it.
- 27:56Speaker 2: Do you know what's kind of funny?
- 27:58Speaker 3: It would have been 10 years ago, Corey and I
- 28:02Speaker 3: visited Fargo for the first time.
- 28:04Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 28:04Speaker 8: And we.
- 28:06Speaker 3: I had to do some work in Detroit Lakes, and
- 28:07Speaker 3: then we were like, oh, let's go to Fargo.
- 28:09Speaker 2: I've always wanted to go. I've never been there.
- 28:10Speaker 3: And so we drove from Detroit Lakes to Fargo, and
- 28:12Speaker 3: there was like a light dusting of snow.
- 28:14Speaker 5: It was beautiful.
- 28:15Speaker 3: And we took a little photo under the Fargo movie
- 28:18Speaker 3: theater sign like everyone on Earth has ever done.
- 28:20Speaker 2: I love that sign.
- 28:21Speaker 1: Yes, great.
- 28:21Speaker 3: And I remember leaving downtown Fargo saying, you know, with
- 28:25Speaker 3: the light little, this looks like a place where they'd
- 28:26Speaker 3: film one of those Christmas movies you love so much.
- 28:29Speaker 2: So what the heck?
- 28:30Speaker 3: How about a little love for downtown Fargo for some
- 28:34Speaker 3: Hallmark movie Christmas time? Now, I am a Minnesotan, so
- 28:37Speaker 3: big shout out to Bemidji. Not hating on Bemidji. But
- 28:40Speaker 3: I think Fargo got a little bit gypped on this list.
- 28:42Speaker 5: Well, next time, we just got to vote more.
- 28:45Speaker 2: All right. Get your vote on in 2027, Angie. Sorry.
