Latest / FPL Pod / S3 Ep22: Off The Bench: Captain fails as chips prove popular
Transcript
- 0:16Speaker 1: Welcome back to this week's Off the Bench podcast from
- 0:19Speaker 1: the Premier League. I'm Lee from FPR Family Field, Blood Box.
- 0:23Speaker 1: So as chips are plenty this week, wild card buttons
- 0:27Speaker 1: were pushed, assistant managers were in play, and we are
- 0:31Speaker 1: entering a key part of the FPL season, doubles and
- 0:34Speaker 1: blanks coming up over the next few weeks. We are here, however,
- 0:37Speaker 1: to discuss this weekend's action and how it might affect
- 0:40Speaker 1: those plans. And with both Brighton and Liverpool both losing,
- 0:44Speaker 1: we're going to do our absolute best to bring you
- 0:46Speaker 1: the positivity. How was game week thirty one for you?
- 0:48Speaker 2: I think we will bring some positivity to this pod, yes, Lee,
- 0:51Speaker 2: because we've both had decent game weeks for a change
- 0:56Speaker 2: on this pod. Awful week for our teams. Obviously, Brighton
- 1:01Speaker 2: key part of the season for my team. Three losses
- 1:04Speaker 2: effectively in the last week, Fel bad form. Yeah, and
- 1:08Speaker 2: that's you know, probably the season done for us. But
- 1:11Speaker 2: my own FL team is having a little bit of
- 1:13Speaker 2: a resurgence and I was a bit worried going into
- 1:15Speaker 2: the game last night. I did have three Newcastle players,
- 1:18Speaker 2: but Liveramento and Murphy both coming through twenty seven points
- 1:23Speaker 2: between them, and I hadn't captain e Sac and he
- 1:25Speaker 2: blanked and he would cause me harm. So it was
- 1:27Speaker 2: it was the perfect result for me.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Who did you count in that Salah? Right?
- 1:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I went for sala I couldn't believe it, you know,
- 1:33Speaker 2: Salah blanking, Esac blanking. I don't really know of any
- 1:36Speaker 2: any anyone that got any points from their from their captains.
- 1:39Speaker 2: It was a really, really funny week.
- 1:41Speaker 1: It was. It was an odd one. I noticed a
- 1:43Speaker 1: start actually on X I saw the top five captained
- 1:46Speaker 1: players all blanked in game week thirty one. So Salah
- 1:48Speaker 1: was captained by five point two million two points, Esak
- 1:52Speaker 1: one point two million two points, Palma, Mamous and Watkins
- 1:56Speaker 1: all with around let's see, Palm about half a million,
- 1:59Speaker 1: mamosche quarter of a million, Watkins about the same, one
- 2:02Speaker 1: two and two points respectively. So yeah, all, but you
- 2:06Speaker 1: know all the big players blanking.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Well, I mean, if there's anyone listening to this that
- 2:09Speaker 2: went for someone, you know, a Brennan Johnson or a
- 2:11Speaker 2: Murphy or someone like that, this was the week because
- 2:14Speaker 2: the games you could make this week were incredible, and yeah,
- 2:19Speaker 2: fair play if you if you did, I mean i'd
- 2:21Speaker 2: considered I think four of those players that you mentioned,
- 2:24Speaker 2: I had it, you know, I was. I was checking
- 2:25Speaker 2: in chain between Salary, Sack, Marmos everyone and didn't make
- 2:29Speaker 2: any difference in the end anyway.
- 2:31Speaker 1: No, totally to what points did you end up on?
- 2:33Speaker 1: Where were you?
- 2:34Speaker 2: I ended up on sixty five points, which was which
- 2:37Speaker 2: was pretty good. Like I said, I had Livramento and
- 2:39Speaker 2: Murphy coming through, Esse, Matteta, Vardiol coming in, not much elsewhere,
- 2:46Speaker 2: no clean sheet for the for the Arsenal goalkeeper Kirkkes
- 2:49Speaker 2: has been really disappointing since I brought him in as well,
- 2:52Speaker 2: just one point for him, Palm obviously being benched, and
- 2:55Speaker 2: then Mo Salah and Anisak both both blanking, and i'd
- 2:58Speaker 2: say out of the whole team, I was probably most
- 3:01Speaker 2: confident that those two would get something, and in the
- 3:03Speaker 2: end it was the lower price players who came in.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Yeah, totally. And was it a chip week for you
- 3:08Speaker 1: as did you you while carding? Or was that that
- 3:10Speaker 1: was last week for you know?
- 3:11Speaker 2: Yeah? Wild card last week. It was a slightly poor
- 3:14Speaker 2: start to that, but it's made up for it this
- 3:17Speaker 2: week because I didn't own any of these players who
- 3:19Speaker 2: actually performed for me today, So yeah, gave me raangkofe
- 3:22Speaker 2: hundred and thirty five came up to two hundred and
- 3:24Speaker 2: eighty two K. I got some chips left playing my
- 3:27Speaker 2: bench boost this week, hopefully pushing on into the top
- 3:31Speaker 2: hundred k before the end of the season.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Nice, very very good. Well, seventy one points for me
- 3:35Speaker 1: this week, So like you were, Big Green Arrow, very
- 3:37Speaker 1: very happy with that. Supercharged by my assistant manager Chip.
- 3:41Speaker 1: And maybe we'll have that conversation a second as to
- 3:43Speaker 1: where I might go, and I'd love to get your
- 3:45Speaker 1: thoughts on where I might go with the assistant manager.
- 3:47Speaker 1: I played it on Thomas Frank this week and said
- 3:49Speaker 1: Brentford at home to Chelsea, given that Chelsea had one
- 3:52Speaker 1: less daid to prepare for that game. In the end,
- 3:55Speaker 1: it was a little bit of a non event. And
- 3:56Speaker 1: do you know what when I saw the Chelsea lineup,
- 3:59Speaker 1: because there was a lot of rota there for Maresca,
- 4:01Speaker 1: I thought, I've picked the right manager here. If we
- 4:03Speaker 1: go table bonus galore And in the end it could
- 4:06Speaker 1: have swung both ways. And I can tell you for
- 4:08Speaker 1: anyone that's played the assistant manager Chip and has been
- 4:10Speaker 1: in this situation where you know, one goal either way.
- 4:13Speaker 1: I mean, if Brentford score, it's dreamland because I'm on
- 4:15Speaker 1: table bonus and it's you know, maybe sixteen eighteen points
- 4:18Speaker 1: something like that. But if Chelsea score, of course, you know,
- 4:21Speaker 1: my ten points that I got, which I was pretty
- 4:23Speaker 1: happy with in the end from Thomas Frank gets wiped
- 4:25Speaker 1: out almost completely because they lose. So one goal either
- 4:28Speaker 1: way was a massive swing, even in just one week
- 4:31Speaker 1: of the three of the assistant manager. So yeah, I
- 4:35Speaker 1: know when Palmer flashed that one over the bar right
- 4:37Speaker 1: at the end of that game, I was squawking in
- 4:39Speaker 1: my chair, I can tell you, really squirming. But seventy
- 4:42Speaker 1: one points overall, like you say, it was the Newcastle
- 4:45Speaker 1: Boys really that were the stars of the show. That
- 4:47Speaker 1: first goal at the King Power last night where Livramento
- 4:50Speaker 1: assisted Murphy, I think even that must have taken, you know,
- 4:53Speaker 1: taken sixty to seventy k off my rank because I
- 4:55Speaker 1: had both of those players elsewhere. Muno's come in with
- 4:58Speaker 1: the goal, Din'ny which was great, Meteta in with the
- 5:00Speaker 1: goal too, and then Dias come in with a five
- 5:02Speaker 1: because of that early booking in the Manchester derby. But overall,
- 5:05Speaker 1: seventy one pretty good. I guess the decision I've got
- 5:08Speaker 1: to make now before we get into the games. I'd
- 5:10Speaker 1: just love to get your thoughts quickly on for those
- 5:12Speaker 1: that are playing the assistant manager like me between thirty
- 5:15Speaker 1: one and thirty three, that was the period of time
- 5:17Speaker 1: I think I was always going to play it. Where
- 5:19Speaker 1: do I go now? Because I've got double game week
- 5:22Speaker 1: fever I think in my head, and I think we're
- 5:24Speaker 1: all going to see double game week fever kicking over
- 5:26Speaker 1: the next week or so with Newcastle and Crystal Palace
- 5:29Speaker 1: both doubling in game week thirty two, So I probably
- 5:32Speaker 1: need to go to one of those two guys. But
- 5:35Speaker 1: there are some other good fixtures for teams that are
- 5:38Speaker 1: you know, where I would could potentially be a little
- 5:39Speaker 1: bit more safe and not play the double game week.
- 5:42Speaker 1: So what do you think, assistant manager for next week? Yeah?
- 5:45Speaker 1: Have you have?
- 5:45Speaker 2: You got the three Palace in the three Newcastle already?
- 5:48Speaker 1: I have? I have, and I'm quite happy to have
- 5:51Speaker 1: those six players in play. And if I was to
- 5:53Speaker 1: move Frank to either Eddie Howe, which again is a
- 5:56Speaker 1: difficult one to do because I would need more money
- 5:58Speaker 1: to move to Eddie Howe, Thomas Franks zero point eight
- 6:01Speaker 1: and Eddie How's one point five, so probably priced out
- 6:04Speaker 1: of that. So if I am going to move it
- 6:06Speaker 1: to one of the double game weekers, it's probably got
- 6:08Speaker 1: to be Glass Night, It's probably got to be Crystal Palace.
- 6:12Speaker 1: So therefore I am looking at the single game weeks
- 6:14Speaker 1: and not trying to overlook those guys. And yes, if
- 6:17Speaker 1: I was going to move it to Glass Nut, I'd
- 6:18Speaker 1: have to take out Mino's Sar or Mateta, and I
- 6:21Speaker 1: don't like doing either. I don't like doing any of
- 6:23Speaker 1: those moves, to be honest with you.
- 6:24Speaker 2: No, I think for Palace, I like the three of
- 6:28Speaker 2: Muno's Esa or Sar and Mateta. I like those three
- 6:33Speaker 2: for two weeks. I think, you know, looking at it
- 6:35Speaker 2: without the three players for one team rule, I think
- 6:39Speaker 2: Glasner is the best option. He's the best one you
- 6:41Speaker 2: can pick, but I'd want those three, so it kind
- 6:44Speaker 2: of rules out that that chip being played on him.
- 6:47Speaker 2: For me, I think you have to go for Emory. Right,
- 6:49Speaker 2: we don't know which players are going to start for Villa,
- 6:52Speaker 2: you know, there is so much rotation going on. Rashford
- 6:54Speaker 2: missed out again. We don't know if Dean's going to
- 6:56Speaker 2: play sensios in and out of the team. What it.
- 6:59Speaker 2: There's no apart from Rogers really who we know is
- 7:03Speaker 2: going to start alongside probably Martinez, and Emory's got Southampton.
- 7:08Speaker 2: That's surely an easy, easy, extra load of points, you
- 7:12Speaker 2: hope for him.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Yeah, A double game week with games which I think
- 7:15Speaker 2: they could do quite well in. So that's where I'd
- 7:18Speaker 2: be looking. I'll be putting on a memory.
- 7:21Speaker 1: I think, Yeah, I like that. I mean, let's start
- 7:23Speaker 1: with that in terms of the games for this week,
- 7:25Speaker 1: because I think Kelly Jewels and Sam will definitely be
- 7:27Speaker 1: talking more about the assistant managership and where those that
- 7:30Speaker 1: have got it in play might want to play it
- 7:32Speaker 1: in game week thirty two. But let's take a look
- 7:33Speaker 1: back then at the weekend's action. Let's start with aston
- 7:36Speaker 1: Villa a team in form of course, but yeah, they
- 7:38Speaker 1: will have one eye on that big doubleheader against Paris
- 7:41Speaker 1: sanger Man in the Champions League. You're right, Emory did
- 7:44Speaker 1: make eight changes this week, but as you say, Martinez,
- 7:47Speaker 1: Rogers and Teelerman's were the three players that survived that Carl.
- 7:51Speaker 1: In fact, they are the only players that have not
- 7:53Speaker 1: been benched at all in the Premier League this season
- 7:56Speaker 1: for aston Villa. So yeah, when we look in at
- 7:58Speaker 1: aston Villa players particularly in that feel because I have
- 8:00Speaker 1: an MVSI at the likes of Essensio and Rashford and
- 8:05Speaker 1: even Donielle. Marlon got on the score sheet aero point one.
- 8:07Speaker 1: He is percentI jooned in FPL, by the way, So
- 8:10Speaker 1: what a differential if you were going to go in
- 8:11Speaker 1: on Marlon a bit of a expected minutes risk potentially,
- 8:16Speaker 1: But I interestingly note that Marlon isn't in the Champions
- 8:20Speaker 1: League squad for aston Villa, so you'd like to think
- 8:22Speaker 1: that he's going to get the start against Southampton and
- 8:25Speaker 1: probably going to get some minutes you'd think in the
- 8:27Speaker 1: double game week as well. So how do you see
- 8:30Speaker 1: how do you assess the aston Villa midfield as do
- 8:32Speaker 1: you go for a bit of an expected minutes risk
- 8:35Speaker 1: in an Essensio or Arashford, who in my mind have
- 8:37Speaker 1: got a little bit more expected goal involvement threat, or
- 8:41Speaker 1: do you go for Marlon who's not in the Champions
- 8:42Speaker 1: League squad or do you just go for tried and
- 8:45Speaker 1: tested and go for Morgan Rogers.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Well, it's tough to pick I've spent far too long,
- 8:51Speaker 2: too much of my time. I'd like to admit on
- 8:53Speaker 2: trying to work out for villasets because they're doing the jobs,
- 8:57Speaker 2: they're doing things in the right way. They're using this
- 9:00Speaker 2: this big squad they've got, They've got great options, you know,
- 9:03Speaker 2: all over the pitch. We're seeing other teams try and
- 9:05Speaker 2: do that. We sort of Chelsea against Brentford didn't really
- 9:07Speaker 2: work out for them when they brought in other players.
- 9:10Speaker 2: Hasn't worked out with some of the Brighton's fringe players
- 9:12Speaker 2: as well when we brought those into the team Arsenal,
- 9:15Speaker 2: Los Gabrielle and you know, we worry about their their
- 9:18Speaker 2: defensive action and going forward. So of all the teams
- 9:21Speaker 2: in the league, I think asen Villa are utilizing that
- 9:23Speaker 2: squad in the best way, which really isn't great when
- 9:25Speaker 2: we're trying to pick our players for them. You know,
- 9:28Speaker 2: they're still managing to compete in the league and they've
- 9:30Speaker 2: still got the Champions League as well, so they need that,
- 9:33Speaker 2: they need that squad. I was if you asked me
- 9:36Speaker 2: a week ago, I would have said Rashford. In fact
- 9:39Speaker 2: he was paying up. In fact, Watkins is back now
- 9:42Speaker 2: and the reason all but confirmed. He's he's fit and
- 9:44Speaker 2: ready to go. I just wonder where Rashford's going to play.
- 9:47Speaker 2: He's just missing too many games for me. Rashford and
- 9:51Speaker 2: he's playing really well. It's not like he's made himself
- 9:54Speaker 2: undroppable because he's still getting dropped, well dropped all rests.
- 9:58Speaker 1: Starting on the bench. Isn't he coming outing an impact?
- 10:00Speaker 1: But you know, starting on the bench is not what
- 10:02Speaker 1: we want in FPL, and.
- 10:03Speaker 2: It's the same with a Senseio. It's like they're getting them.
- 10:04Speaker 2: It's like he's getting the minutes so that he can
- 10:06Speaker 2: unleash them in the in the Champions League game. And
- 10:09Speaker 2: you know things will change when if and when they
- 10:12Speaker 2: go out to psg Orse. Should be a should be
- 10:15Speaker 2: exciting game. I think Rogers is the one. Rogers is
- 10:18Speaker 2: the one for me. He just isn't getting dropped, He
- 10:20Speaker 2: isn't getting rested, isn't getting rotated at all. He's proved
- 10:24Speaker 2: that he's fit enough to play almost every minute of
- 10:26Speaker 2: every game for Villa, and Emory's made him pretty much
- 10:30Speaker 2: the key man in the side. I think he's the
- 10:33Speaker 2: He's definitely the obvious one for me. Yeah, his energy
- 10:36Speaker 2: is unbelievable.
- 10:36Speaker 1: He's been so good for us in FPL this season,
- 10:38Speaker 1: and I suspect when we get to game we won
- 10:40Speaker 1: the next season, we're going to see a bit of
- 10:42Speaker 1: a price hike for him. I would have thought the
- 10:45Speaker 1: kind of the paradox for me if you like is
- 10:48Speaker 1: And I think one of the big questions that FPR
- 10:49Speaker 1: managers will be asking is are you going to be
- 10:52Speaker 1: bench boosting in either game week thirty two or thirty three?
- 10:55Speaker 1: And the reason I asked that question is because if
- 10:57Speaker 1: you are, I think you want to go for the
- 10:59Speaker 1: player that's INVERTI Coomma's guaranteed the mits. You want to
- 11:01Speaker 1: go for the Morgan Rodgers, right, because you're going to
- 11:03Speaker 1: be bench boosting. You want your players to be starting.
- 11:06Speaker 1: You might not go for Rashford because, as you say,
- 11:08Speaker 1: he's been starting on the bench recently, you know, ditto Esensio.
- 11:11Speaker 1: So I think you go for Rogers. But for those
- 11:13Speaker 1: of us, and I encount myself in this because I'm
- 11:16Speaker 1: playing the assistant manager between thirty one and thirty three,
- 11:19Speaker 1: I'm locked out. I cannot play the bench boost right.
- 11:21Speaker 1: I can't play the bench boosts in thirty two thirty
- 11:23Speaker 1: three that is going to come later on in the
- 11:25Speaker 1: season for me. That is tomorrow's problem for another podcast. Right,
- 11:28Speaker 1: So therefore I look at it and I go, well,
- 11:30Speaker 1: maybe can I take a little bit more of a risk,
- 11:33Speaker 1: Maybe I can go within a sense to you, maybe
- 11:35Speaker 1: I can go with a Rashford, or maybe given that
- 11:38Speaker 1: he's not in the Champions League squad, can I go
- 11:41Speaker 1: with a Donyelle Marlin. I mean, he got about sixty
- 11:43Speaker 1: seventy minutes.
- 11:44Speaker 2: This Marlin not someone i'dod before this.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Do you know what I like him? I thought he
- 11:50Speaker 1: played very very well at the weekend. He got sixty
- 11:51Speaker 1: minutes and that's his first kind of good chunk of
- 11:54Speaker 1: game time for the last few weeks. And I do
- 11:56Speaker 1: wonder whether Emory's looking at him and going, well, I'm
- 11:59Speaker 1: going to need you in the league over the next
- 12:01Speaker 1: couple of game weeks. A right, I'm going to need
- 12:02Speaker 1: you because you're not playing in the Champions League. And
- 12:05Speaker 1: it's just that you know, the opportunity to go for
- 12:08Speaker 1: a player that's just scored Fraston Villa in an informed
- 12:10Speaker 1: team zero point one percent as zero point one percent.
- 12:14Speaker 1: What a differential against Southampton who we know alongside Leicester
- 12:19Speaker 1: are the teams to target right now in FPL. There's
- 12:22Speaker 1: just the the you know, seasoned FPL manager and me
- 12:26Speaker 1: cannot overlook that. I'm so tempted to go with the
- 12:29Speaker 1: nort point one differential against Southampton, particularly when I don't
- 12:34Speaker 1: necessarily need the kind of minutes guarantee that Rogers gives you.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Rogers is the sensible pick. I'm with you, right. You know,
- 12:40Speaker 1: most FPR managers out there will go for him, I'm sure,
- 12:42Speaker 1: but Rashford assents you are in my thinking. And Donyelle
- 12:45Speaker 1: Marlin at zero point one and at only five point
- 12:48Speaker 1: three million, I am considering it, you know, I'm considering it,
- 12:51Speaker 1: particularly if I was to downgrade Sar to Marlon. That
- 12:54Speaker 1: would free up a Crystal Palace slog to enable me
- 12:57Speaker 1: to go for glasnow. Yeah, yeah, absolutely so, I am
- 12:59Speaker 1: considering it.
- 13:00Speaker 2: The trouble is you're then sort of stuck with Marlon
- 13:02Speaker 2: right until potentially and we know, we know transfers are precious,
- 13:07Speaker 2: and I think if they'll do go out to PSG,
- 13:09Speaker 2: how many starts really do we are we expecting from
- 13:11Speaker 2: Marlon to get between now and the end of season?
- 13:13Speaker 2: I mean, that is that is sorry. I mean, the
- 13:15Speaker 2: other way of looking at it is similar to that
- 13:16Speaker 2: what you're talking about with this is the manager chip
- 13:18Speaker 2: in the sense that maybe you just go for the
- 13:20Speaker 2: player who has the highest likelihood of big, big returns
- 13:23Speaker 2: when they do get on the pitch, and that would
- 13:26Speaker 2: be either Rashford or Sensio for me. So you know,
- 13:29Speaker 2: you could take a punt on Rashford, hope he's going
- 13:31Speaker 2: to seize. You know, it will start at least one
- 13:33Speaker 2: of the next three games, I imagine, and just hoping
- 13:36Speaker 2: that game he goes, he goes off, and hope it's Southampton,
- 13:39Speaker 2: I think straight away. But yeah, I think I think
- 13:42Speaker 2: Rogers is the safe play. I'm not convinced on the
- 13:45Speaker 2: Marlin shout, I want you, I want you to, I
- 13:49Speaker 2: want you to do it. Now, I think I think
- 13:52Speaker 2: i'd be go over Rogers if it was me.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Yeah, the safe very much the pick I expected you
- 13:59Speaker 1: to make, as not in Forest then from their perspective,
- 14:01Speaker 1: Elanga taken off at halftime. Now we know that not
- 14:04Speaker 1: On in Forest don't double between now and the end
- 14:06Speaker 1: of the season, but they also don't blank. So for
- 14:09Speaker 1: those that haven't got the free hit chip left, I
- 14:12Speaker 1: certainly am planning to play it in game week thirty
- 14:14Speaker 1: four because that's going to be very difficult to navigate
- 14:16Speaker 1: game week. But Forrests are one of those teams that
- 14:18Speaker 1: do play. They've got Branford at home in thirty four,
- 14:20Speaker 1: so there will be a few FPR managers on wildcard
- 14:23Speaker 1: last couple of weeks, or even if you're not on wildcard,
- 14:25Speaker 1: will have been looking at the Alangas and the Nico
- 14:27Speaker 1: Williams Elanga taken off at halftime, Nuno saying, got to
- 14:30Speaker 1: have a scan, but hopefully it's nothing. Can you allay
- 14:33Speaker 1: any fears thereas or and or are you looking at
- 14:36Speaker 1: Forest players for the foreseeable future?
- 14:38Speaker 2: Well, it's a bit of more, isn't if it's picked,
- 14:39Speaker 2: because they're sit in the FA Cup and they're obviously
- 14:41Speaker 2: going to want to go to the final and try
- 14:43Speaker 2: and win that. So if there's any doubts around him,
- 14:47Speaker 2: he's not going to play. I'd imagine. I don't know
- 14:49Speaker 2: if i'd be picking a langer as well, given that
- 14:51Speaker 2: we've got the double game weeks coming up. I don't
- 14:53Speaker 2: think he'd be high on my list in terms of
- 14:55Speaker 2: a priority. I don't think you need to sell him
- 14:58Speaker 2: unless you get some new that he's out, so he's
- 15:01Speaker 2: a classic. Probably don't buy, don't sell. I worry a
- 15:04Speaker 2: little bit about Forest. You know, they've got ain Er out,
- 15:06Speaker 2: Woods out as well. If there's an injury to a Langer.
- 15:08Speaker 2: That's three absolutely key men for them now carrying injuries
- 15:13Speaker 2: and still quite a few games for them to play
- 15:15Speaker 2: and everything like that. So I'm very happy to own Malenkovich.
- 15:20Speaker 2: I think if you've got cells, if you've got Williams,
- 15:23Speaker 2: then you hold. I don't think i'd be investing in
- 15:26Speaker 2: Forest at the moment, and any more players for them
- 15:30Speaker 2: in thirty four maybe if you need them to come
- 15:32Speaker 2: in when other teams have a blank, But for now,
- 15:34Speaker 2: I think we can just wait and see.
- 15:36Speaker 1: Yeah, I think I agree, and I think that you're right.
- 15:38Speaker 1: You take one or two of the key cogs out
- 15:41Speaker 1: of the Forest system, and it's such a finely honed system,
- 15:44Speaker 1: such a finally home team. He's done such a good
- 15:46Speaker 1: job there new no spirits is Santa. But if you
- 15:48Speaker 1: take one or two key players out, it does have
- 15:50Speaker 1: an impact, doesn't it. It does have an impact. We spent
- 15:53Speaker 1: quite a bit of time in that game talking about
- 15:55Speaker 1: aston Villa because of the double game week, rightly. So
- 15:58Speaker 1: another team that have got a double game week is
- 16:00Speaker 1: Manchester City coming up. I don't know how long you
- 16:03Speaker 1: want to take discussing the Manchester derby the weekend. Not
- 16:06Speaker 1: a particularly good game, was it, you know, not the
- 16:09Speaker 1: not the Manchester Derbies we're used to seeing of Old,
- 16:11Speaker 1: I have to say, but City looking a little bit
- 16:14Speaker 1: like they're starting to miss early in Harland right And
- 16:16Speaker 1: latest to stat that skyput on the TV, they said
- 16:20Speaker 1: this was the third lowest XG that a Manchester City
- 16:24Speaker 1: team have ever accumulated under Pep Guardiola. So really struggling
- 16:28Speaker 1: in front of goal, Marmus really not in the game
- 16:31Speaker 1: and not having an impact and maybe they are missing
- 16:33Speaker 1: the big Norwegian. That's just now five goals in their
- 16:36Speaker 1: last six games of Manchester City they had forty three
- 16:38Speaker 1: shots in the box, so you know that's that is
- 16:41Speaker 1: kind of ticking over, although in for Manchester City standards
- 16:44Speaker 1: you'd say that's probably quite a low statistic. You'd expect
- 16:47Speaker 1: to have more shots in the box than that over
- 16:49Speaker 1: the course of six matches. So five goals in six
- 16:52Speaker 1: low XG. Vardi Old with the three bonus points, although
- 16:55Speaker 1: he is he's only had one shot on his last
- 16:57Speaker 1: seven matches. Now what's going on at City. I've got
- 17:00Speaker 1: three of them in preparation for the double game week
- 17:02Speaker 1: coming up in thirty three. But the likes of Foden
- 17:05Speaker 1: and you know, even a little bit of a question
- 17:08Speaker 1: mark over mar Mousch now great against Leicester City, but
- 17:10Speaker 1: as we saw last night for Newcastle, you know a
- 17:13Speaker 1: lot of players can do very very well against Leicester City.
- 17:15Speaker 1: I'm just starting to worry a little bit that I've got,
- 17:18Speaker 1: you know, maybe a bit over invested in Manchester City
- 17:20Speaker 1: ahead of game week thirty three. How do you feel
- 17:22Speaker 1: about it?
- 17:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I think we definitely got pulled in by the
- 17:24Speaker 2: by the doubles for man City rather than think so,
- 17:28Speaker 2: rather than necessarily their form this season. But I mean
- 17:30Speaker 2: it's a couple of clean sheets now for them, and
- 17:32Speaker 2: there's there's been some signs that they can they can
- 17:35Speaker 2: do well. I mean mart Mooch was was great, like
- 17:37Speaker 2: you mentioned against against Ester. I think the issue with
- 17:39Speaker 2: them is the same as it is for our FPL seasons.
- 17:41Speaker 2: What's happening, what is going on in midfield? You think
- 17:43Speaker 2: about the mansfield options of previous years with Sterlings, with
- 17:46Speaker 2: Ya Yo Tore de Bruner on form Foden Gunderwan. I
- 17:50Speaker 2: just look at this list of midfielders and I just think,
- 17:53Speaker 2: you know, Foden and Savina were tied on one hundred
- 17:55Speaker 2: points each. Well, Savinho missed out at the weekend. He
- 17:59Speaker 2: started the last seven Before all that, Foden has what
- 18:01Speaker 2: one goal in his last six or seven games. De
- 18:05Speaker 2: Bruyn us off at the end of the season. Gunderwin's
- 18:07Speaker 2: had a poor year, Docu's in and out of the team,
- 18:09Speaker 2: so it's greenish. There's no one for us to consider
- 18:13Speaker 2: in that side. And I think that's the issue. When
- 18:14Speaker 2: you've got strikers up front and they're trying to get
- 18:17Speaker 2: service and they haven't really got anyone who's able to
- 18:19Speaker 2: pull the strings like we've been able to see them
- 18:21Speaker 2: doing previous years. How are they going to get goals?
- 18:24Speaker 2: And that's the issue. I think my Moosh is almost
- 18:26Speaker 2: tasked with trying to create something up nothing. Yeah, I
- 18:29Speaker 2: think you're very good at it, and he's been doing
- 18:31Speaker 2: it now for the whole season at two different clubs.
- 18:33Speaker 2: But you've got to think eventually that's gonna that's going
- 18:36Speaker 2: to kind of come come down, come down a bit
- 18:39Speaker 2: and yeah, I think two defenders, is it? Two defenders
- 18:42Speaker 2: and my moosh, you've.
- 18:43Speaker 1: Got no, I've got Das and I've got my mooche
- 18:46Speaker 1: and I've got Foden as well. And you know what,
- 18:49Speaker 1: he's a question mark, isn't he because he's banged out
- 18:52Speaker 1: a form and as there wasn't much that I remember
- 18:54Speaker 1: from the Manchester derby, but there was one chance that
- 18:57Speaker 1: fell to him inside the box, I think on a
- 19:00Speaker 1: left foot and it's just a kind of hesitated and
- 19:03Speaker 1: then defender did a really good job of coming back
- 19:04Speaker 1: and getting to tackle him. But just in my head,
- 19:06Speaker 1: I was like the Fodin of Old or the Folden
- 19:08Speaker 1: that I remember of last season that got the Player
- 19:11Speaker 1: of the year. He tucks that away, you know, almost
- 19:13Speaker 1: almost every time, or even takes the shot on first
- 19:15Speaker 1: time because he's so full of confidence. So yeah, he's
- 19:19Speaker 1: a I've got dass. I think I'm okay with that.
- 19:21Speaker 1: I would have preferred Vardi Old, but I couldn't afford
- 19:23Speaker 1: vardilcause I needed the money for the assistant manager and mosyeah, correct,
- 19:29Speaker 1: do you know what? It was a toss up on
- 19:30Speaker 1: the wildcard between Foden and Sevino and right now, that's
- 19:33Speaker 1: looking a bit of a wash right with Sabina missing
- 19:35Speaker 1: out of the weekend as well. So yeah, the City
- 19:39Speaker 1: midfield is a big question mark and Foden is just
- 19:41Speaker 1: not looking like he's worth the money in FBR right now.
- 19:44Speaker 2: No, yeah, I don't blame people for going there. I
- 19:48Speaker 2: think with Sakka back, I know he's been he's been
- 19:50Speaker 2: mentioned the last two games, but I'd expect him to
- 19:54Speaker 2: get back into the team pretty soon as the easiest
- 19:56Speaker 2: minutes back in. I don't really see a place for
- 19:59Speaker 2: Foden with Soaka there, So I don't he's I owned
- 20:05Speaker 2: him earlier in the season and he's a tricky one
- 20:07Speaker 2: to sell because the fixtures are good for City. Of
- 20:11Speaker 2: what he's gone well, exactly his home double game with
- 20:13Speaker 2: I know, and we know what he's capable of on
- 20:15Speaker 2: his on his day. I mean, he got nineteen points
- 20:17Speaker 2: against Ipswich in game week twenty two, so he's obviously
- 20:23Speaker 2: still got it. He's an incredible talent, but it's just
- 20:25Speaker 2: not quite working him this season. Again for me, don't buy,
- 20:30Speaker 2: don't sell, give him a few more weeks, but it
- 20:32Speaker 2: is a concern the fact that he is not starting
- 20:36Speaker 2: games and there's so many midfield options as well in
- 20:39Speaker 2: that team, none of which are performing.
- 20:41Speaker 1: No, I agree, I agree. All right, well let's go
- 20:43Speaker 1: to the two teams that double in thirty two, then
- 20:46Speaker 1: Newcastle and Crystal Palace. Let's do Palace first. Sorry to
- 20:50Speaker 1: talk about this game, because yeah, it's one of those
- 20:54Speaker 1: where Brighton really lacking a bit of form, but some
- 20:57Speaker 1: challenges now at center half four Palace Gay he was
- 21:00Speaker 1: sent off at the end of this game. I think
- 21:01Speaker 1: Laqui went off with what appeared to be a head injury,
- 21:03Speaker 1: although we've got to wait for a brit of news
- 21:05Speaker 1: on that. Chris Richards who I think he's probably the
- 21:08Speaker 1: third or fourth choice center half. You know, look at
- 21:11Speaker 1: I think Glass I said, you're hoping for him to
- 21:13Speaker 1: be back in game week thirty two after the calf
- 21:15Speaker 1: problem that he's had. But yeah, what do you think
- 21:17Speaker 1: about Crystal Path. We'll talk about your boys in a minute,
- 21:20Speaker 1: but Crystal Palace are going to be high on radars
- 21:22Speaker 1: because of the double double coming up, the double game
- 21:24Speaker 1: week in thirty two, followed by another double in game
- 21:27Speaker 1: week thirty three. In case you missed it, you know,
- 21:30Speaker 1: A way to Manchester City and a way to Newcastle
- 21:32Speaker 1: in game week thirty two. So yes, it's a double
- 21:34Speaker 1: game week. But it's pretty tricky right, certainly on paper,
- 21:37Speaker 1: despite what we've just said against about Manchester City, it
- 21:40Speaker 1: is going to be a tricky couple of games for Palace.
- 21:43Speaker 1: What do you make of the game? Let's talk about
- 21:44Speaker 1: Palace first and some of their challenges defensively, and then
- 21:47Speaker 1: we'll talk about the matetas and the stars and the essays.
- 21:51Speaker 2: Yeah, well, the all the problems that centerm back aren't
- 21:53Speaker 2: they like like you mention, it's gonna be real test
- 21:55Speaker 2: for Glassner's through the back formations ycause it doesn't have
- 21:58Speaker 2: anyone really, no natural center of acts that can really
- 22:01Speaker 2: fill in to that. We think. So, I mean, you
- 22:03Speaker 2: see what he does, whether he moves players out of position,
- 22:06Speaker 2: whether he brings some academy players in potentially, how that
- 22:09Speaker 2: kind of looks whatever, that looks like, You've got to
- 22:11Speaker 2: think they're going to struggle. I wasn't a big fan
- 22:13Speaker 2: of these these games from a defensive point of view anyway,
- 22:17Speaker 2: and now with these injuries it looks even worse. I
- 22:19Speaker 2: think the issue with Munos as well, I mean nine
- 22:21Speaker 2: attacking returns for him this season that's second only to
- 22:24Speaker 2: Robinson in the league, which is.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Obviously fantastic being so good, isn't he.
- 22:27Speaker 2: But the trouble is with defenders when they score and
- 22:30Speaker 2: don't keep a clean sheet, they don't get bonus. We
- 22:33Speaker 2: see that time and time again this year because of
- 22:34Speaker 2: the new way the bonuses is calculated, so you almost
- 22:38Speaker 2: need multiple attacking returns from him to get anything on
- 22:41Speaker 2: that front. I mean I had Esa for example. I
- 22:43Speaker 2: was really happy with with him my bench Sar. He's
- 22:47Speaker 2: a classic player where you think you're going to get
- 22:49Speaker 2: loads of points for him because the expected numbers are
- 22:52Speaker 2: really really good and you watch him, he looks absolutely incredible.
- 22:54Speaker 2: As soon as you bring him in, they all just
- 22:56Speaker 2: dry up. No shots, no chances created for him in
- 23:00Speaker 2: the side. We're going to want more from him in
- 23:02Speaker 2: the double game week for sure. So I'm sat here
- 23:05Speaker 2: with with Esse, Sar and Mateta. Very happy holing Mateta,
- 23:10Speaker 2: especially now in Ketty's band as well. There's another player
- 23:12Speaker 2: out yes, yeah for them, So I think Mateta is
- 23:15Speaker 2: the man. He's a captain. Nottion, I think can rivally
- 23:17Speaker 2: sack potentially if you are chasing, because like you said,
- 23:21Speaker 2: Pallas they're not gonna keep clean sheet. They're gonna have
- 23:23Speaker 2: to score some goals, right, Yeah, I just want to
- 23:25Speaker 2: dwell on Sar for a minute.
- 23:27Speaker 1: So when I did my wild card in game week thirty,
- 23:29Speaker 1: I looked back at the previous six games, so from
- 23:32Speaker 1: game week twenty four to thirty, and he was right
- 23:35Speaker 1: up there. You're right, that was a real, you know,
- 23:37Speaker 1: analytics pick for me. I looked at all that I've
- 23:40Speaker 1: watched a little bit, obviously watching a little bit in
- 23:41Speaker 1: a little bit of palace. It was a proper nerd pick,
- 23:45Speaker 1: no doubt about it. But I'd really poured over all
- 23:47Speaker 1: the stats because Sar versus Esse, because I wanted Minols,
- 23:51Speaker 1: I wanted Mateta. It was a real fifty to fifty shout,
- 23:54Speaker 1: and in the end, I let the stats get the
- 23:55Speaker 1: better of me. I went, well, it's remindous he's outstating Esse,
- 23:59Speaker 1: so he's the one I'm going to go for. But
- 24:00Speaker 1: you're right, no returns, no shots, no chances created at
- 24:03Speaker 1: the weekend. So maybe he's one of these kind of
- 24:06Speaker 1: stats monsters that you know, just promises to deliver and
- 24:09Speaker 1: then maybe doesn't. I don't know, I don't know, but
- 24:11Speaker 1: I'm willing to give him a chance, and of course
- 24:12Speaker 1: I'm not going to necessarily sell him ahead of the
- 24:15Speaker 1: double double, although he probably would be the one out
- 24:17Speaker 1: of the three that would make way if I wanted
- 24:19Speaker 1: to go for glasner On, my assistant manager. But more
- 24:23Speaker 1: in general about Crystal Palace, the Haid eight. They created
- 24:25Speaker 1: eight chances at the weekend against Brighton against your team,
- 24:28Speaker 1: but only for a total of ner point four to
- 24:30Speaker 1: eight x G. So what does that tell me? That
- 24:32Speaker 1: tells me that they're creating, you know, lots of low
- 24:36Speaker 1: XG chances. So they really did make the most of
- 24:38Speaker 1: what they created against Brighton. And actually Mateta's goal that
- 24:42Speaker 1: you've seen it, but absolute rocket, wasn't it. What a
- 24:44Speaker 1: goal from John Philipe Mateta. So I don't know if
- 24:48Speaker 1: I I don't know if I necessarily agree with you
- 24:50Speaker 1: on the Mateta rival in Esak for the captaincy next week.
- 24:54Speaker 1: I just think we'll talk about Esach and Newcastle in
- 24:56Speaker 1: just a second. I think He'sak is clear of Meteta,
- 25:00Speaker 1: have to say, but yes, saw a bit of a concern,
- 25:03Speaker 1: but not going to sell him ahead of a double
- 25:04Speaker 1: game week Sam with the two assists yet well done
- 25:08Speaker 1: for picking him.
- 25:10Speaker 2: Talk about lucky, you talk about low well return expected
- 25:13Speaker 2: to sas of nort point not two for both of it,
- 25:16Speaker 2: both as this but that was the Yeah, you're right,
- 25:18Speaker 2: that was the tailor of the tape.
- 25:19Speaker 1: As you know, they really made the most of what
- 25:21Speaker 1: they created Crystal Palace, a real low XG low XA game.
- 25:25Speaker 1: They really were low on the stats but still managed
- 25:27Speaker 1: to pull a win out of somewhere against Brighton. What
- 25:29Speaker 1: did you make of your team's performance then, anything that
- 25:32Speaker 1: we should get excited about ahead of Brighton's upcoming run
- 25:35Speaker 1: Leicester City up home next, right.
- 25:36Speaker 2: That's what we get excited about. We get excited about
- 25:38Speaker 2: the fact we're playing Lister next. Although it would be
- 25:41Speaker 2: a classic Brighton to end up losing the game or
- 25:45Speaker 2: considering a couple of goals, I mean, obviously from a
- 25:47Speaker 2: defensive point of view, I am expecting this to keep
- 25:49Speaker 2: a cleancheet against Leicester.
- 25:51Speaker 1: You'd hope, so, you'd hope. So they had their moments
- 25:53Speaker 1: last night though Leester against Newcastle, wouldn't they did me
- 25:57Speaker 1: for them to score a get a back you but
- 25:58Speaker 1: you know, maybe back them to get a goal.
- 26:00Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm hope. I mean, we had a very good
- 26:02Speaker 2: performance against Southampton that they're a classic team where I thought,
- 26:05Speaker 2: you know, when we played Southampton a few weeks ago,
- 26:07Speaker 2: I thought, if anyone's going to get a result, it's
- 26:08Speaker 2: going to be it's going to be them against us,
- 26:10Speaker 2: so we kind of put them to the sword. It was.
- 26:11Speaker 2: It was a really good performance. I'm hoping it's just
- 26:13Speaker 2: a nice professional, you know, win here and we need
- 26:16Speaker 2: to get back on track. I think our chances of
- 26:18Speaker 2: Champions League now pretty much over. It was. It was
- 26:21Speaker 2: a really crucial week for us. I think there's going
- 26:24Speaker 2: to be quite a lot disappointment in the team that
- 26:26Speaker 2: you know out of the FA Cup. Zero points against Aston,
- 26:29Speaker 2: Villa and Palace. That's that's really really poor. So yeah,
- 26:33Speaker 2: I think we need to get back to to winning ways.
- 26:35Speaker 2: I've been bench boosting this week. I've got for Bruggan
- 26:37Speaker 2: as my Cup goalkeeper, so he'll be in. I think
- 26:40Speaker 2: is Stupinam looks really good as well if you're looking
- 26:43Speaker 2: for a defender. He's been talked up by the manager,
- 26:45Speaker 2: by Hurtzler. He's not really shown up too much of
- 26:48Speaker 2: attacking points, but we know again, we know what he's
- 26:51Speaker 2: capable of. Sem of the players that we've talked about,
- 26:53Speaker 2: so he'd be the defensive option that I'd go for.
- 26:56Speaker 2: It's tougher to really know who to pick if you
- 26:58Speaker 2: if you're looking for someone up top, you know Pedro
- 27:00Speaker 2: missed out, Yeah, potentially Welbeck. I think you probably go
- 27:03Speaker 2: for Minte if you're looking for a midfielder, though he's
- 27:06Speaker 2: nice and cheap plays. Lester we got some decent games
- 27:09Speaker 2: now up until about gaming thirty seven, so it's a
- 27:12Speaker 2: good time to invest in us in a way. But
- 27:13Speaker 2: obviously we haven't got the double game week, so you're
- 27:16Speaker 2: probably going to be privatizing other players.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I think you're right. The Lester game looks good.
- 27:20Speaker 1: But also in thirty four. Again we mentioned it before.
- 27:22Speaker 1: If you've not got the free hit and you're trying
- 27:24Speaker 1: to build a team for thirty four west Ham at
- 27:26Speaker 1: home for Brighton, yeah, could be worse, could be worse.
- 27:28Speaker 1: So again, I know I'm gonna be free hitting in
- 27:31Speaker 1: thirty four, so I'm not looking at Brighton assets, but
- 27:33Speaker 1: you know, if you need them, they're there. I think
- 27:34Speaker 1: I think they're there. Let's segue over to the other
- 27:36Speaker 1: team that have got the double in thirty two their Newcastle,
- 27:39Speaker 1: so we watched them last night. Here's a nice stat
- 27:41Speaker 1: for you, as three hundred and eighty four than one
- 27:43Speaker 1: hundred and three managers bought Jacob Murphy in this week
- 27:47Speaker 1: and actually he produced thirteen points in the reverse fixture
- 27:51Speaker 1: with Leicester in game week sixteen. He got two goals
- 27:53Speaker 1: and a bonus point and that was his joint best
- 27:56Speaker 1: return of the season until yesterday. It's glorious from Miper's
- 28:00Speaker 1: beective because I had him in my team. Glorious sixteen pointer.
- 28:03Speaker 1: Do you know what when Fabian Shah hit that one
- 28:05Speaker 1: from the halfway line, Oh and it's falling And honestly,
- 28:09Speaker 1: Leicester they just just didn't react, did they at all?
- 28:12Speaker 1: And I just thought, God on Esach, get on the
- 28:13Speaker 1: end of it, get on the end of it. And
- 28:14Speaker 1: it wasn't Esach. It was Murphy that had popped up there,
- 28:17Speaker 1: you know. So I was just as pleased to see
- 28:19Speaker 1: him get the goal. You know. That's seven goals and
- 28:21Speaker 1: seven assists now for Murphy this season. Not bad for
- 28:23Speaker 1: five point one million, right, And if he's not in
- 28:25Speaker 1: your team, I think there will be a few FPR
- 28:27Speaker 1: managers that may be looking enviously over those of us
- 28:30Speaker 1: that do have him and maybe looking at getting him
- 28:31Speaker 1: in four next week. What do you make of the game,
- 28:34Speaker 1: what do you make of Newcastle's performance? And a word
- 28:37Speaker 1: on Alex Esak because you didn't captain him. He was
- 28:40Speaker 1: going into the game with a little bit of potentially
- 28:42Speaker 1: a broying issue. He was flagged in FPO. I think
- 28:45Speaker 1: Eddie Howell gave us, you know, enough confidence. Cer certainly
- 28:47Speaker 1: gave me enough confidence to captain him. I'm interested in
- 28:50Speaker 1: your thoughts in why you didn't, but also you know
- 28:53Speaker 1: the Esak versus Meteta. We've touched on it a little
- 28:57Speaker 1: bit in the previous conversation. Essak versus Mateta for captaincy
- 29:01Speaker 1: next week, you're going to go for Esa, You're going
- 29:03Speaker 1: to go for the Sweden. And if you had the
- 29:04Speaker 1: triple captain, would you go for him as well?
- 29:06Speaker 2: Yeah? I think on Murphy just just quickly. I mean,
- 29:08Speaker 2: what a season he's had. He was going in into
- 29:11Speaker 2: the start of the season because of his price, and
- 29:13Speaker 2: he had a good pre season as well. But I
- 29:15Speaker 2: think he was benched in the first game and that's
- 29:17Speaker 2: set the tone for for a while. But it's great
- 29:20Speaker 2: seeing a player who we've considered to be a bit
- 29:21Speaker 2: of a squad player for Newcastle and they've had a
- 29:24Speaker 2: bit of a problem that right hand side as well,
- 29:26Speaker 2: and I haven't really had anyone that's has really nail
- 29:28Speaker 2: down that spot. So it's great to see him coming in.
- 29:32Speaker 2: And he has been absolutely incredible, really really impressive every
- 29:36Speaker 2: time I've watched him play. So yeah, great to see
- 29:39Speaker 2: Hi Hi stepping up bit like almor And did a
- 29:41Speaker 2: few years ago. Right, Yeah, we kind of written him
- 29:43Speaker 2: off and he came in.
- 29:45Speaker 1: He was a bit of a cult hero and FPL
- 29:46Speaker 1: for a few weeks, wasn't I remember him?
- 29:48Speaker 2: He was? Yeah, so yeah, very please and I nearly
- 29:51Speaker 2: went for Gordon over him, tried to be clever and
- 29:54Speaker 2: do it. So I have tried to play a little
- 29:56Speaker 2: bit more sensibly over the last few weeks. It is
- 29:59Speaker 2: actually paying off. I know, I know, but yeah, I
- 30:02Speaker 2: still think Marlin's a bit of bit too far. But yeah,
- 30:07Speaker 2: I think Easak is by far the best trible captain
- 30:09Speaker 2: opty in this week. You heard Howe's comments his interview.
- 30:12Speaker 2: He said he's fully fit, there's no worries. He just
- 30:14Speaker 2: took him off because the game was won. He'll start
- 30:17Speaker 2: both games with the double, I'm sure as long as
- 30:18Speaker 2: a pick up injury in the first one home games.
- 30:22Speaker 2: Look really good. They're scoring goals, they're full of confidence.
- 30:25Speaker 2: Wondered how they would react after obviously winning winning the Cup,
- 30:28Speaker 2: whether it be a bit of a hangover, but they
- 30:30Speaker 2: look great. I think just supercharge. Yeah, supercharge. And it's
- 30:33Speaker 2: great you get to play Leicester with the form they've
- 30:35Speaker 2: got because you could just run on a bit riot
- 30:38Speaker 2: and play and it was a good feeling, you know,
- 30:40Speaker 2: for the way fans that went. So he's the obvious choice.
- 30:44Speaker 2: I think you've got the trouble captain. I think it's
- 30:45Speaker 2: the obvious choice as well. I think you know, what
- 30:48Speaker 2: we wanted to see last night was exactly what we
- 30:52Speaker 2: got in terms of minutes for him. Obviously gold would
- 30:54Speaker 2: have been good and he was snatching at chance a
- 30:56Speaker 2: little bit and he was straighted when he came off
- 30:58Speaker 2: and all that. But the worry about that, just worry
- 31:00Speaker 2: about the next two games. I think if you've got
- 31:02Speaker 2: that Jober captain, it's an easy choice.
- 31:05Speaker 1: Yeah, that's good, doesn't it. And Leicester, for their part,
- 31:07Speaker 1: I think we just continue to target them, don't we.
- 31:08Speaker 1: They've become the first team in the one hundred and Sorry,
- 31:12Speaker 1: lester fans. They are the first team in the one
- 31:13Speaker 1: hundred and thirty six year history of the English League
- 31:17Speaker 1: and lose eight straight home games without scoring and that's
- 31:20Speaker 1: now fourteen hours without a league goal. I mean, yeah,
- 31:24Speaker 1: you've mentioned Brighton before, They've got it's Brighten up next
- 31:27Speaker 1: for Leicester. The interesting one for me actually is game
- 31:29Speaker 1: week thirty three. I don't want to get ahead of ourselves,
- 31:31Speaker 1: but Leicester, I've got Liverpool at the King Power Stadium
- 31:34Speaker 1: and not many of us are going to captain Mosala
- 31:36Speaker 1: I would have thought, because Liverpool don't have the double
- 31:39Speaker 1: game week and you've got Arsenal and City and others
- 31:41Speaker 1: that do, so that will be an interesting conversation. But
- 31:44Speaker 1: for now, Yeah, Leicester looked dead and buried, I'm afraid,
- 31:47Speaker 1: and they are definitely a team to target. Let's talk
- 31:50Speaker 1: about Arsenal then, another team with a double game week
- 31:53Speaker 1: in thirty three, so again a team that many of
- 31:56Speaker 1: us will be looking towards for our FBOTA, particularly soccer
- 32:00Speaker 1: back you know again failed to kind of make really
- 32:03Speaker 1: an impact in this game. Couple of blocked efforts from distance,
- 32:06Speaker 1: one free kick. That's really all that he could muster
- 32:08Speaker 1: in that second half at Goodison, Trossard leading the line
- 32:12Speaker 1: for Arsenal on Saturday, Juan Yeri and Sterling either side,
- 32:15Speaker 1: and then of course it was Socca and Martinelli, wasn't
- 32:17Speaker 1: it when Arteta decided to mix it up a little bit?
- 32:20Speaker 1: So is the is the Marino dream dead? I mean
- 32:22Speaker 1: he was in at six point one million. I thought
- 32:24Speaker 1: he'd nailed down that number nine spot. I think I
- 32:26Speaker 1: went on Sky Sports News on Saturday and said, yeah,
- 32:29Speaker 1: he's a really good pick because he's now down that spot,
- 32:31Speaker 1: and then Arteta does what Arteta does and proves me wrong,
- 32:34Speaker 1: which is why I'm not Premier League manager.
- 32:36Speaker 2: Yeah, reasonly is the only reason.
- 32:39Speaker 1: The thoughts on Arsenal. Then I've got I've got three
- 32:42Speaker 1: in my team, one of which is Gabrielle, so that
- 32:44Speaker 1: probably needs sorting out in the short to medium term.
- 32:46Speaker 1: I've got Rya, I've got soccer. I feel like that's
- 32:50Speaker 1: probably all that I want going into game week thirty
- 32:52Speaker 1: two Brentford at home and then obviously Ipswich and Palace
- 32:55Speaker 1: in the double in game week thirty three. So we're investing,
- 32:59Speaker 1: but I think massively investing. There's a massive, massive double
- 33:02Speaker 1: header against RAMD Madrid comming up, haven't they? So what
- 33:05Speaker 1: do you think about Arsenal thoughts on them?
- 33:07Speaker 2: Tough, very tough again to know who to get. I think,
- 33:09Speaker 2: similar to what we talked about with Villa, the rotation,
- 33:12Speaker 2: I think he's going to be really key. Think particularly
- 33:13Speaker 2: at the back, who's going to start in that? I mean,
- 33:16Speaker 2: does Saliba get arrest, does he keep with Kiwi or
- 33:19Speaker 2: does Timber come back in? Obviously Ben White's available now
- 33:23Speaker 2: as well. There's options that they can they can move around.
- 33:25Speaker 2: Tinchenko hasn't played much, but he could come in as well,
- 33:28Speaker 2: a left back. I'm even tin he got some minutes. Yeah,
- 33:31Speaker 2: I've seen him, He's seen him for a while, So
- 33:33Speaker 2: it's I think it's it's it's tough to know. And
- 33:34Speaker 2: also with all these rotation options comes you know, a
- 33:37Speaker 2: less settled defense where where conceding goals is potentially more likely.
- 33:41Speaker 2: So I think you've got if you've got Raya, if
- 33:43Speaker 2: you've got Saliba, obviously you hold those. I've got Gabrielle.
- 33:47Speaker 2: I don't think I'm going to be moving him to
- 33:48Speaker 2: another Arsenal defender.
- 33:50Speaker 1: No, okay, especially if you've got Raya, I think.
- 33:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think that the double Loup is as
- 33:54Speaker 2: attractive as it was when a world corded even last week.
- 33:57Speaker 2: You know, but I had Gabrielle and Raya both in.
- 34:00Speaker 2: At least Marino played. He played the nine. He didn't
- 34:02Speaker 2: play in the position where he he's getting the attack
- 34:03Speaker 2: of returns, but at least he started. I wouldn't be
- 34:06Speaker 2: going near Trossard an area. I wouldn't be going this sterling.
- 34:10Speaker 2: I'd only be considering soccer, I think, out of that,
- 34:12Speaker 2: out of that midfield. So yeah, for me, it's it's
- 34:15Speaker 2: soccer and Raya and that's probably probably about it, or
- 34:19Speaker 2: potentially Saliba instead of Raya, which is a shame because
- 34:22Speaker 2: the double looks good in the Ipswich in one of
- 34:24Speaker 2: the games they've got the home game on Pallas, where
- 34:27Speaker 2: we've talked about their defensive problems. If you want to
- 34:30Speaker 2: go for a punt on one of them, you know,
- 34:31Speaker 2: I don't hate it, it's just again, it's just tough
- 34:33Speaker 2: to know which one to go for. And Soccer looks
- 34:36Speaker 2: a great option and a potential captain option as well.
- 34:38Speaker 2: I think he's the other one, isn't he that we
- 34:41Speaker 2: can think about next next week? Yeah?
- 34:43Speaker 1: I agree. I agree. Here's a very selfish question, sorry
- 34:45Speaker 1: to the audience, but selfish question for me sitting on
- 34:48Speaker 1: Thomas Frank as assistant manager given the rotation around the
- 34:52Speaker 1: RA Madrid games. As you've all right, you've rightly mentioned
- 34:55Speaker 1: there with the likes of Tean et cetera getting games
- 34:56Speaker 1: and Gabrielle injured, et cetera, do I hold on Thomas
- 35:01Speaker 1: Frank and maybe Brentford get a result at Arsenal and
- 35:04Speaker 1: I save myself a transfer. It is Thomas Frank assistant
- 35:08Speaker 1: manager with table bonus in game week thirty two? Is
- 35:11Speaker 1: that viable? Donnielle Marlin? I'm going Donyelle Marlin again, aren't
- 35:17Speaker 1: I'm going? I'm going off piece. Yeah.
- 35:20Speaker 2: I mean the good thing about it is you say
- 35:21Speaker 2: a trendswer right? Is he not having to move Frank
- 35:23Speaker 2: out to someone else? I haven't really off I have
- 35:25Speaker 2: to say I thought about it. I don't know. I
- 35:27Speaker 2: would still expect Arsenal to win, to win that game.
- 35:30Speaker 2: I think that the Chelsea one was a great move
- 35:32Speaker 2: and I think you know what we've seen from Chelsea.
- 35:34Speaker 2: We know they're capable dropping points also as well. They've
- 35:37Speaker 2: just drawn with Everton, and we mentioned all the rotation,
- 35:39Speaker 2: but I would still think Arsenal have a bit too
- 35:41Speaker 2: much for for Brentford in that in that game, I
- 35:44Speaker 2: think I think I'd probably be looking to move it personally.
- 35:46Speaker 1: But it's getting to that stage of the season where
- 35:48Speaker 1: I'm I'm Donyelle Marlin. I'm sticking with frank on assistant manager.
- 35:52Speaker 1: I want to take Marlas. Rank would be coming on
- 35:55Speaker 1: here with you as and you were just sort of like,
- 35:57Speaker 1: you know, I'm.
- 35:57Speaker 2: So boring today. What is going on?
- 36:00Speaker 1: Darnielle Marlin is the one I need to live a little,
- 36:02Speaker 1: get him in zero point one, live a little gaining
- 36:05Speaker 1: thirty two hours. Come on, come on Brentford Chelsea, Let's
- 36:08Speaker 1: move to them. No win on the road now for
- 36:10Speaker 1: Chelsea since game week fifteen, would you believe as that's
- 36:13Speaker 1: three draws and five defeats, so you know the away
- 36:16Speaker 1: day hoodoo form Maresca definitely in play. There had just
- 36:20Speaker 1: four shots in the first half Chelsea against Brentford, although
- 36:23Speaker 1: that did improve seventeen in the second half when Jackson
- 36:26Speaker 1: came on forty five and Palmer came on on fifty eight.
- 36:30Speaker 1: Thoughts on the game, Thoughts on Chelsea in particular, ipswitch
- 36:33Speaker 1: at home up next, which looks very good in thirty two.
- 36:36Speaker 1: No double in thirty three in fact, a tricky looking
- 36:39Speaker 1: away game as Liverpool tell you at Craven Cottage against
- 36:42Speaker 1: Fulham in thirty three. So yeah, for those that have
- 36:45Speaker 1: got Palmer, what would you do? That was a surprise
- 36:47Speaker 1: benching at the weekend.
- 36:49Speaker 2: It was, and a gamble didn't really pay off. I
- 36:51Speaker 2: was very surprised by the team selection, you know, I
- 36:54Speaker 2: know they've obviously gone the conference league. I didn't think
- 36:57Speaker 2: that was such a priority that he would rest keep
- 37:00Speaker 2: you know, Palmer and Jackson when they haven't exactly been
- 37:02Speaker 2: in amazing form going forward. The defense has looked good though,
- 37:06Speaker 2: just one goal conceding the last five to ask enough,
- 37:10Speaker 2: which is which is good. You know we can be
- 37:12Speaker 2: if we're bench boosting this week, we can be considering
- 37:14Speaker 2: the likes of kuku A or Cole will or Challa
- 37:17Speaker 2: bar something along that. But like you said, after that,
- 37:20Speaker 2: you're then going into thirty three with probably a defender
- 37:23Speaker 2: who don't really want when there's other teams with better
- 37:25Speaker 2: fixtures and a double game week.
- 37:26Speaker 1: Re Shames look good though, as right played at left back,
- 37:29Speaker 1: three bonus two big chances created he does.
- 37:31Speaker 2: But again, I'm just worried about the minutes, and it's there.
- 37:35Speaker 1: I keep putting these, keeping these really nice juice, the
- 37:37Speaker 1: FPL tip its out there, and you just keep shooting
- 37:39Speaker 1: me down.
- 37:40Speaker 2: Come on, Yeah, I've got my sensible hat on today
- 37:43Speaker 2: for sure. I mean you can, you can, you can
- 37:45Speaker 2: go for Reece James, but I'm just thinking, you know,
- 37:47Speaker 2: for the next few weeks. For me, it's all about
- 37:49Speaker 2: just bringing in players who are definitely going to start,
- 37:51Speaker 2: or at least have very very high likelihoods of starting.
- 37:54Speaker 1: This is the bench booster FPR mentality is. So I'm
- 37:57Speaker 1: not and you are, and I think that's I think
- 37:59Speaker 1: we're in MicroC costum here of the FPO community art,
- 38:01Speaker 1: where you're going sensible because of the bench boosts, and
- 38:04Speaker 1: I'm thinking a bit riskier because I'm not right. This
- 38:06Speaker 1: is the this is where we're at.
- 38:07Speaker 2: Well, this is it. And I think that's the difference
- 38:08Speaker 2: between the two chips, right. I think with bench you
- 38:10Speaker 2: have to play a bit more sensibly because you need
- 38:11Speaker 2: to get the minutes from the players, whether assistant manager,
- 38:14Speaker 2: you can go for it and try and hit those
- 38:16Speaker 2: those big holes. So put you in a different mindset
- 38:18Speaker 2: potentially going forward. If I knew Rech James was going
- 38:21Speaker 2: to start against Ipswich, I think i'd probably bring him in.
- 38:24Speaker 2: Let's let's let's put it that way. If you think
- 38:25Speaker 2: he's going to start and you're looking for an option
- 38:27Speaker 2: for one week on a bench boost or whatever, I
- 38:29Speaker 2: think he's one of the best defenders you can get.
- 38:31Speaker 2: There we go, There we go. That's the Maverick mentality
- 38:33Speaker 2: I'm looking for ATOD. Now I'm going to carry it
- 38:36Speaker 2: by saying I just don't know if he is. If
- 38:37Speaker 2: he is going to start, you know, we'll be interesting
- 38:40Speaker 2: to see. I mean, Kukrella missed out, are we expecting
- 38:42Speaker 2: Cuckrea to miss out again? He's been pretty much ever
- 38:44Speaker 2: present for them. You know, you've got to go right
- 38:46Speaker 2: down to go seventeen when he missed out start pretty
- 38:49Speaker 2: much every game for the Seas. He's been really impressive
- 38:51Speaker 2: as well. So unless they could have give him another
- 38:54Speaker 2: another rest, I would expect him to come back in.
- 38:56Speaker 2: So I think you're looking at maybe a midfield like
- 38:59Speaker 2: spot for games, but they've got seventy midfielders as well
- 39:03Speaker 2: to consider. Yeah, it's a gamble. I mean, I think
- 39:06Speaker 2: it's down to what happens in the Europa League, right.
- 39:08Speaker 2: I think if James doesn't start that game, then I
- 39:11Speaker 2: think he is he's a reluption for the weekend, but
- 39:14Speaker 2: I think he probably does and I think he probably
- 39:16Speaker 2: misses out of the weekend.
- 39:17Speaker 1: Yeah, good stuff, all right, a few more games left
- 39:19Speaker 1: to cover as that's rattled through these so Fulham Liverpool
- 39:23Speaker 1: Liverpool thinking they're cruising to the title this year, but
- 39:26Speaker 1: absolutely not, particularly when McAllister scored that goal. As a
- 39:29Speaker 1: Liverpool fan, I've watched this team a lot, obviously over
- 39:32Speaker 1: the course of this season, and when Maka scored you
- 39:34Speaker 1: could almost see the team going Okay, there we go,
- 39:36Speaker 1: that's another one ticked off. But in this league, in
- 39:39Speaker 1: a fixture like Fulham away, you can't defend in the
- 39:42Speaker 1: way that Liverpool defended, particularly for that fifteen minute period
- 39:44Speaker 1: where they conceded the three goals and their twenty six
- 39:47Speaker 1: match unbeaten run in the Premier League comes to an end.
- 39:50Speaker 1: And in particular I was super impressed with the way
- 39:52Speaker 1: that Munis took his goal to kind of shrug off
- 39:54Speaker 1: Van Dyke, the way he did flick it over the
- 39:56Speaker 1: shoulder and then put it through the keeper's legs, absolutely
- 39:58Speaker 1: fantastic goal. Rodrigo mnies most Salo Theo fail at the
- 40:02Speaker 1: score and he's last four in all competitions. Captain. As
- 40:04Speaker 1: I said before at the top of the pod, five
- 40:06Speaker 1: point two million FPR managers going with most Salah captain,
- 40:10Speaker 1: what do you think no trend for Liverpool is that
- 40:12Speaker 1: having an impact on Mo? Can we sell him or
- 40:15Speaker 1: is that just too much of a risk? And actually
- 40:17Speaker 1: do we even need to sell him because as we
- 40:19Speaker 1: mentioned before, the Palmers, the Sackers, even the Harlan's, you know,
- 40:22Speaker 1: none of these these guys are either not around and
- 40:24Speaker 1: injured or not performing. So we don't really need to
- 40:26Speaker 1: take the money out of Salar and take that risk,
- 40:29Speaker 1: do we.
- 40:29Speaker 2: That's the key thing. I think if we had like Son,
- 40:32Speaker 2: Fod and Palmer, Sakka, de Poiner, Parland Back all firing,
- 40:37Speaker 2: I think we could we could sit here and maybe
- 40:38Speaker 2: make a case for it. But a lot of those
- 40:40Speaker 2: options are not performing as we would like, So do
- 40:43Speaker 2: we need to take Salar out? I think there's you know,
- 40:45Speaker 2: there's there's lots of factors here. They've they pretty much
- 40:47Speaker 2: already won the league. There is a key injury to trend,
- 40:50Speaker 2: who's touch a creative force. Saler'sbviously got the contract situation
- 40:54Speaker 2: going on hasn't affected him so far this season, but
- 40:57Speaker 2: you don't know as it. You know, as he's now
- 40:59Speaker 2: basically ach the goals they've set out and there's no
- 41:01Speaker 2: other cups and stuff to play for, maybe it's becoming
- 41:04Speaker 2: a bit more real to him and you know his
- 41:06Speaker 2: mind is looking potentially looking elsewhere or even thinking about
- 41:10Speaker 2: what he's what he's going to do. I mean before
- 41:12Speaker 2: the last two games Douban. You just have to look
- 41:14Speaker 2: at the returns of points that he got. So are
- 41:16Speaker 2: we expecting just such a sudden switch in a player
- 41:19Speaker 2: that's been so clinical and so amazing for us all
- 41:21Speaker 2: all season. The tonic is Lester. That's what you need
- 41:25Speaker 2: and that's coming next week.
- 41:27Speaker 1: Don't sell it's coming. Yeah, you'd be up well, I
- 41:30Speaker 1: think you'd be mad to sell him ahead of Yeah,
- 41:31Speaker 1: west Ham at home and then and then Leicester and
- 41:33Speaker 1: then even in thirty four again, you know, if you're
- 41:36Speaker 1: going to need players for a team that's not got
- 41:37Speaker 1: a free hit in thirty four, Spurs at home not
- 41:40Speaker 1: looking like a too bad a fixture for him either.
- 41:42Speaker 2: Going thirty five, you could, you could think about it.
- 41:45Speaker 2: I think you know, they've got Chelsea Arsenal Brighton Palace.
- 41:48Speaker 2: If you're struggling in your leagues, if you need to
- 41:50Speaker 2: do something, you know, dramatic to make some ground up,
- 41:53Speaker 2: you sell the player it's owned by seventy two percent
- 41:55Speaker 2: of the game and maybe hope the player you bring in,
- 41:58Speaker 2: you know, massive outperforms in but next few.
- 42:00Speaker 1: Weeks, maybe the league's done by them as well, or
- 42:03Speaker 1: maybe the foot comes off the pedal. Yeah, maybe west
- 42:06Speaker 1: Ham Bournemouth. Then Evanilson four goals in four starts and
- 42:09Speaker 1: the underlyining stats look pretty good for him as well.
- 42:11Speaker 1: He's had at least one big chance and at least
- 42:13Speaker 1: three shots in the box in each of his post
- 42:15Speaker 1: injury starts. So when I was looking at the underlying
- 42:18Speaker 1: stats for Bournemouth, they're comfortably in the top half for
- 42:21Speaker 1: most of the defensive stats that I could see. So
- 42:23Speaker 1: despite you know, looking a little bit out of form defensively,
- 42:26Speaker 1: they look okay, but they rank in the bottom four
- 42:29Speaker 1: the headers conceded and set piece chances allowed. So that's
- 42:33Speaker 1: definitely a week point and west Ham exploited that despite
- 42:36Speaker 1: not being that creative west Ham in this game against Bournemouth,
- 42:39Speaker 1: they really exploited that weakness there. So Evanilson, you know,
- 42:43Speaker 1: despite a good performance there, I don't think he or
- 42:45Speaker 1: any of the Bournemouth players really are going to be
- 42:47Speaker 1: on radar given the lack of double game week and
- 42:50Speaker 1: you know, not looking too hot in terms of form.
- 42:52Speaker 1: What do you make of their performance at the weekend?
- 42:54Speaker 2: Yeah, they've they've been pulled for a while now, that's
- 42:56Speaker 2: six games now, about a win for them, obviously out
- 42:58Speaker 2: in the cup. To talk about Brighton season petering out,
- 43:01Speaker 2: I think the same is happening to Bournemouth struggling to
- 43:03Speaker 2: get points. They were at one point looking for Champions
- 43:06Speaker 2: League football and now they're probably going to settle for
- 43:09Speaker 2: a top ten finish something like that. Evan Neilson's been great.
- 43:12Speaker 2: Can you to score goals? I look at the rest
- 43:14Speaker 2: of the midfield though, and at one point we were
- 43:16Speaker 2: all considering having you know, two or maybe even three
- 43:18Speaker 2: assets from the midfield. I'm not sure I'd want to
- 43:21Speaker 2: be buying any of those. And I've got Kirkez in
- 43:23Speaker 2: defense and he's been really poor and you know he's
- 43:26Speaker 2: got six assists, which has been great. If you look
- 43:29Speaker 2: at his XGI is underlying numbers for attacking in terms,
- 43:31Speaker 2: he's thirty fifth out of defenders. So you look at
- 43:34Speaker 2: like Hoyston, look at Van Heck, they're actually more likely
- 43:37Speaker 2: specifically to get points given the stats. So here's someone
- 43:42Speaker 2: that I'm probably looking to sell going forward. He's had
- 43:44Speaker 2: a great season, he's looked good. But I think it's
- 43:46Speaker 2: now the time to be moving off Bournemouth rather than
- 43:48Speaker 2: rather than buying them for sure.
- 43:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I think you're probably right. And west Ham, like
- 43:51Speaker 1: I said, not very creative, but you know, Bowen Jaraboon
- 43:54Speaker 1: continues to try and buck that trend. Another three shots
- 43:57Speaker 1: in the box here. That takes him to sixty in
- 44:00Speaker 1: eight games under Potters, and no midfielder has had more
- 44:03Speaker 1: shots in the box in that time. So Jared Bowen,
- 44:05Speaker 1: you know, really trying to do his best to you know,
- 44:09Speaker 1: carry that west Ham team at the moment in terms
- 44:10Speaker 1: of creativity and goal threat. So not too much to discuss.
- 44:14Speaker 1: I don't think on west Ham given that again they
- 44:16Speaker 1: don't have the double game week. Let's do the last
- 44:18Speaker 1: couple of games as I'll get told off by the
- 44:21Speaker 1: other half of FPL family if I do not mention
- 44:23Speaker 1: the Spurs win against Southampton this weekend. Saints unfortunately now
- 44:27Speaker 1: the first team in Premier League history to go down
- 44:30Speaker 1: with as many as seven matches of the season remaining.
- 44:33Speaker 1: Even Urich has been sacked just one hundred and eight
- 44:35Speaker 1: days in charge. Listen, he took four points from a
- 44:38Speaker 1: possible forty two. You know, really really poor. Do you
- 44:41Speaker 1: think that they they will continue as Spurs did. Do
- 44:43Speaker 1: you think they'll continue to be a team that we
- 44:45Speaker 1: target or maybe now that pressure has been released, maybe
- 44:49Speaker 1: with even Eurich out the door, Saints might not be
- 44:52Speaker 1: a team that we want to target. Do you think
- 44:53Speaker 1: they'll have an uptick in form as or do we
- 44:55Speaker 1: just continue to target them.
- 44:57Speaker 2: We said it couldn't get much worse after Martin was
- 44:59Speaker 2: sacked than it did, so I'm hesity to say it
- 45:01Speaker 2: can't get much worse again, because you never really know.
- 45:04Speaker 2: The team just obviously isn't isn't good enough to to
- 45:07Speaker 2: really compete in the league from what we've seen. So
- 45:09Speaker 2: definitely a team still to target. I think all three
- 45:11Speaker 2: promoted teams are still once that we're going to be
- 45:14Speaker 2: looking at, but they'll be hoping to, you know, at
- 45:16Speaker 2: least get past that Derby record of points. That is
- 45:21Speaker 2: the main mission for them for them now and yeah,
- 45:23Speaker 2: ab inigency, how they how they do perform, So yeah,
- 45:26Speaker 2: I'll still be picking players. And we mentioned Boe in
- 45:27Speaker 2: a minute ago. He plays west Ham Place Southampton next week,
- 45:31Speaker 2: so no decent time to take a punt on him
- 45:34Speaker 2: for example. But yeah, said team to target. You know,
- 45:37Speaker 2: Spurs look great in the first half and then struggled
- 45:40Speaker 2: in the in the second half. Again, We've seen that
- 45:42Speaker 2: a lot this season. Massive game for them.
- 45:45Speaker 1: Against Yeah, Thursday is huge for them.
- 45:48Speaker 2: Yeah, for sure. So again they're not a team that
- 45:51Speaker 2: I'm going to be targeting. Son's been really disappointing I
- 45:53Speaker 2: think this season. Yeah, isn't he Yeah, just seven goals.
- 45:56Speaker 2: His worst return is ten, so he'll be hoping to
- 45:58Speaker 2: beat that. But yeah, just just a no go bo
- 46:01Speaker 2: both teams. Yeah, I think you're right.
- 46:02Speaker 1: And then the last team talking about focusing on or
- 46:05Speaker 1: targeting the promoted teams, Wolves versus Ipswich is the only
- 46:09Speaker 1: other game to discuss. Wolves taken ten points for a
- 46:12Speaker 1: possible twelve since Kunya has been out the team, by
- 46:14Speaker 1: the way, so they've done pretty well without him. Yeah,
- 46:17Speaker 1: twenty two shots to Ipswich is six in this game
- 46:20Speaker 1: and almost four times the XG, so it was a
- 46:22Speaker 1: real deserve win from Wolves. Has a big six point
- 46:25Speaker 1: to that game. Wolves now a bit of daylight between
- 46:28Speaker 1: them and Ipswich, and I suspect that might be well,
- 46:31Speaker 1: if not the final nail in the coffin for the
- 46:33Speaker 1: track to boys. It's definitely looking bleak for them. And
- 46:35Speaker 1: as we quite rightly said before, you know, there are
- 46:37Speaker 1: teams that we will want to invest in to target Ipswich.
- 46:40Speaker 1: Palmer has got if he starts. We'll have Ipswich coming
- 46:44Speaker 1: up next week in game week thirty two, so that
- 46:45Speaker 1: will put a lot of people off selling him. But
- 46:48Speaker 1: target Ipswich really as was the message that I took
- 46:50Speaker 1: from this game.
- 46:51Speaker 2: Absolutely and shout out to Prayer who's been amazing to
- 46:53Speaker 2: see Copda. They won the last three games as well,
- 46:56Speaker 2: which is which is incredible. Kuna's back now, he's down
- 46:59Speaker 2: to five percent only ship, so he's a real good
- 47:01Speaker 2: differential for us between now and the end of the season.
- 47:04Speaker 2: And like you said, target ifswitch, you know, I don't.
- 47:07Speaker 2: I don't think I want too many Chelsea players for
- 47:09Speaker 2: the rest of the season. But I'm definitely looking at
- 47:12Speaker 2: at them this this week. Palmer was a decent captain option,
- 47:16Speaker 2: you know, but obviously you've got the doubles as well,
- 47:18Speaker 2: but I expect him to come back into the side.
- 47:20Speaker 2: I think this, you know, for the rest of the season,
- 47:22Speaker 2: it's just going to be targeting teams who play either
- 47:26Speaker 2: a double game week or play Ipswich Southampton and Leicester.
- 47:30Speaker 2: And that's that's going to be my That's going to
- 47:31Speaker 2: be what I do for the next what seven weeks?
- 47:34Speaker 1: Can't tempt you with the Matteias kun you're at home
- 47:37Speaker 1: to Spurs when Spurs will have their eye on that
- 47:39Speaker 1: second leg against Frankfurt coming back from suspension with the
- 47:43Speaker 1: points approve or is this is this just one risk
- 47:46Speaker 1: too far for this podcast as I've already I've already
- 47:48Speaker 1: gone too many Donyelle Marlins and too many frank assistant managers.
- 47:53Speaker 2: I don't hate it, but are you going to take
- 47:55Speaker 2: out of matetrisaka Mamous? You know, I think that three
- 48:00Speaker 2: is so strong. Now, if you've got a Leather Nilsen
- 48:03Speaker 2: or a Pedro or someone like that, maybe, but I
- 48:06Speaker 2: still think that front three is who you want to
- 48:08Speaker 2: be aiming for and speaking of transfers and targets everything else. Well,
- 48:12Speaker 2: it's a big couple of weeks coming obviously, back to ball,
- 48:14Speaker 2: double game weeks, then a blank and then we're going
- 48:17Speaker 2: to be seeing out the rest of the season. We're
- 48:19Speaker 2: going to have to be on top of our gamele
- 48:21Speaker 2: if you want to get up those mini leagues, Yeah, you're.
- 48:23Speaker 1: Gonna have to take a few risks, as I've tried
- 48:24Speaker 1: to put a few out there for you today, but
- 48:26Speaker 1: you're not having Yeah, So who better to take you
- 48:30Speaker 1: through the chaos of FPL over the next few weeks
- 48:32Speaker 1: than Kelly, Jaws and Sam. They'll be back on Thursday
- 48:35Speaker 1: this week looking at whether the game Week thirty one
- 48:37Speaker 1: wild card was a success for Sam and Kelly. I
- 48:40Speaker 1: know that those two played that in particular, so I'm
- 48:42Speaker 1: looking forward to seeing their game Week thirty one results
- 48:45Speaker 1: and they'll all be talking revised chip strategies for the
- 48:48Speaker 1: weeks ahead. And if you haven't joined it already, the
- 48:50Speaker 1: FPL Pod Mini Lee code is Q seven y C
- 48:54Speaker 1: zero Lee Pleasure as always lovely to say you as
- 48:58Speaker 1: good like next week too,
