- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Hey, welcome Trap Souls Podcast.
- 0:02SPEAKER_00: I'm here with Lamurte, paranormal, uh, out of Arizona.
- 0:07SPEAKER_00: And Vince, um, his wife could not make it because of time change, and you know, it's one of those things in life that they live all the way across the country.
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: So welcome to the show.
- 0:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, thanks for having us, Ryan.
- 0:18SPEAKER_01: I appreciate it.
- 0:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean, I've been watching you.
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I've been watching on TikTok a lot lately, and you guys put some funny videos out there, some cool videos.
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: But what interests me more is your shop.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: And that's what uh LaMorte Skull and Stone.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: Is that what you guys call it?
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: Okay, anybody out there, go check them out.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: It's cool stuff.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: I mean, a couple things I was looking at today.
- 0:43SPEAKER_00: I'm like, I might have to get that.
- 0:44SPEAKER_01: So nice.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: Pretty neat.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: So what got you into the paranormal to begin with?
- 0:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 0:52SPEAKER_01: So um start out.
- 0:54SPEAKER_01: Um, so really I used to work um with a few people who were kind of mediums in a way, right?
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: They were just starting to practice, they were starting to get out there.
- 1:03SPEAKER_01: Um, so they found out um my work was haunted, right?
- 1:08SPEAKER_01: A couple spirits there.
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: So they asked me um if they could kind of check it out and do an investigation.
- 1:14SPEAKER_01: So that right there started, you know, getting me involved and like asking them more questions.
- 1:19SPEAKER_01: So they kind of started it, and then I I guess I didn't realize like just normal people, right?
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: People like us could go and investigate all these places.
- 1:28SPEAKER_01: Um, I've always been big on like the ghost adventures, ghost hunters, dead files, like those kind of shows.
- 1:34SPEAKER_01: Um, so I've always been all about it.
- 1:36SPEAKER_01: So once I found out like normal people could actually do these kind of things, um I was hooked, right?
- 1:42SPEAKER_01: So as soon as they did their investigation, um, they showed me some of their findings, and then I ended up going on a couple investigations with them.
- 1:50SPEAKER_01: Um, so that's kind of what got me personally into it.
- 1:54SPEAKER_01: Um, my wife, she's she's seen spirits since she was small in her home.
- 1:59SPEAKER_01: So she's always kind of been involved with with spirits in the paranormal.
- 2:04SPEAKER_01: Um, so it was it was super easy just to bring her along, and yeah, that's kind of what started it.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: And then, like you said, the crystal business, like that's hers.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: She's she's jumped into that, so she's she's running the website.
- 2:15SPEAKER_01: Um, we're we're loading stuff on all the time.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: So LaMorte is you said the the dead, yeah, the dead, paranormal.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: And Spanish, did you guys grow up in Mexico or uh no?
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: So um I got yeah, I got I have family there.
- 2:34SPEAKER_01: Um on my mother's side, I'm I'm a first generation um citizen.
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: My father's side, I'm a second.
- 2:40SPEAKER_01: Uh so you know, we've we've been here for a while.
- 2:42SPEAKER_01: Um my family's from Sonora, but yeah, we're we're in Arizona, um, born and raised.
- 2:47SPEAKER_01: So most of our investigations kind of start here in Arizona.
- 2:50SPEAKER_01: Um, we've been to California, and then later on the year we're gonna try to go to a couple more states.
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: So we'll see.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: Now, how's the paranormal world in Mexico though, compared to like the United States?
- 3:02SPEAKER_01: They look down on it or no, um, yeah, they're they're all about it.
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: Like you see, at least I see in my feed all kinds of different videos where um like it looks crazy.
- 3:13SPEAKER_01: It's like some of it you got to determine is it real, is it fake?
- 3:16SPEAKER_01: Um, but they're all about it, especially like the folklore stories.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: Um, I plan to go to the um Doll Island here this year, um, later on in the year.
- 3:26SPEAKER_01: Um, I'm hoping.
- 3:27SPEAKER_01: I'm hoping.
- 3:28SPEAKER_01: We we were it was supposed to be May, now it's May, it's supposed to be April, now it's May, but we don't have a blocked date.
- 3:34SPEAKER_01: Um, so yeah, so there's a maybe a group of us paranormal groups trying to go all together.
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, so that's that's a bucket list place that we're hoping to get to this year.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it amazes me how many people don't really know about the island and the story behind it.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: It fascinates me.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's it's kind of cool.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's I don't know.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: I mean, I don't know if the story I heard is the same as the story you heard about the little girl that the guy found and he hung a doll up.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: Now, people just go up there when people pass.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: Is that what they do and put dolls up for remembrance for them?
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so um, so you really got to do your research, right?
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: Because there's a bunch of islands leading up to the main island that people have just kind of made a tourist trap, right?
- 4:20SPEAKER_01: And they hung dolls up and it's not really haunted.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, once you go to the main spot, um, yeah, there is a lot of people who had um people pass away or children, and they went and honored them and took a doll.
- 4:32SPEAKER_01: Um, I know another group who took a doll to try to get like something to enter it and bring it back home.
- 4:39SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, supposedly there's so many spirits, and that is part of the story that people go there and with their loved ones and and hang those.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's kind of creepy, you know.
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: I see all those dolls, but also it's kind of cool because you're doing a remembrance of a family member.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: So I mean, I think it goes both ways.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: Again, touristy, how out of hand did it get?
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: I mean, how much energy do you think is there?
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: I mean, I think there's a lot.
- 5:05SPEAKER_01: I think it's been there for a lot of years now, just where people go and like just like the passion, and then, like you said, bringing the loved ones, right?
- 5:13SPEAKER_01: Trying to honor them.
- 5:14SPEAKER_01: So there's just so much energy and feelings in in that.
- 5:17SPEAKER_01: Um, yeah, I think it's it's super active.
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: Do you think it's like a cemetery where still family members go because they hung a doll for remembrance, like a visit?
- 5:30SPEAKER_01: Um, I don't know.
- 5:31SPEAKER_01: I don't think that so much anymore.
- 5:34SPEAKER_01: Um, like yeah, I don't think it's they're going as common as like a cemetery just because I think it's it's hard to get there.
- 5:41SPEAKER_01: Um, yeah, but I think they just go honor them that one time, and then maybe it's something they go back every year or like big anniversary days, five years, ten years, stuff like that.
- 5:52SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's it's interesting to me.
- 5:54SPEAKER_00: I mean, the different cultures, and I'm not a big fan of dolls, not scared of dolls.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: I just don't believe like every doll's haunted nowadays, like everybody says they are.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: So like every I mean you've done paranormal investigations, I'm sure you've seen the amount of dolls that are getting introduced to these places.
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: I mean, oh yeah, and I I've asked that like why 20 years ago there's only like five haunted dolls, and now there's 20 in every house.
- 6:24SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 6:25SPEAKER_01: I mean, yeah, I agree with you.
- 6:28SPEAKER_01: I agree.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: Do you or your wife collect haunted dolls?
- 6:33SPEAKER_01: No, but so we almost bought one last year.
- 6:36SPEAKER_01: Um, we went to it was an auction for another paranormal group.
- 6:40SPEAKER_01: Um one of them got sick, right?
- 6:42SPEAKER_01: So they're just trying to raise some money for treatment and things like that.
- 6:46SPEAKER_01: Um, and a lady there, she was a medium and she was trying to get rid of a doll.
- 6:50SPEAKER_01: Um, so we're bit we're almost bit on it.
- 6:53SPEAKER_01: So we're asking questions about her.
- 6:55SPEAKER_01: Um, and then so they told us one story, but then we heard her telling another guest who she personally knew, like something totally different.
- 7:05SPEAKER_01: Like she tried to tell us it's not evil, it's not harmful, nothing like that.
- 7:09SPEAKER_01: But then, you know, she kind of told a different story.
- 7:12SPEAKER_01: Um, so later we brought her back right before and and asked her just a couple more questions.
- 7:17SPEAKER_01: And a heater almost fell on her while she was talking about the doll.
- 7:21SPEAKER_01: Like we caught it on one of those giant, you know, those giant tall heaters.
- 7:25SPEAKER_01: And then that was like, okay, that's a sign.
- 7:27SPEAKER_01: Like, we're not gonna mess with it.
- 7:29SPEAKER_01: So uh right, eventually it's something we still may do, but as of right now, no, we don't we don't think so.
- 7:36SPEAKER_01: We're sticking with the crystal business, and then every so often, well, before we started the crystals, um, we had a couple spirits follow us, right?
- 7:43SPEAKER_01: So, in a way, we kind of had our own haunted house, but um, we got we got serious, we got the crystals, we did some like a ritual here and and you know cast it out basically.
- 7:54SPEAKER_01: But yeah, nothing haunted in the house as of right now.
- 7:58SPEAKER_00: All right, so I'm not a huge crystal believer, nothing against it.
- 8:02SPEAKER_00: Tell you that 100%.
- 8:03SPEAKER_00: I think what you believe in is what you believe in.
- 8:05SPEAKER_00: You believe that your crystal is gonna protect you.
- 8:08SPEAKER_00: I think they're cool.
- 8:09SPEAKER_00: I mean, especially stuff you have at your store.
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: I mean, what was I looking at?
- 8:14SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna I'm gonna butcher every word.
- 8:19SPEAKER_00: The carved was it Shungil Dragon?
- 8:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah, uh-huh.
- 8:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think that's she she's the expert in that.
- 8:26SPEAKER_01: I'm I'm pretty sure that's how you say it though.
- 8:28SPEAKER_01: Okay, um, yeah, we like the skulls, right?
- 8:31SPEAKER_01: Like, obviously, skulls.
- 8:32SPEAKER_01: So, like, she she got big into starting like with crystal skulls.
- 8:36SPEAKER_01: Um, that's kind of what kicked it off for her.
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean, they're they're cool.
- 8:41SPEAKER_00: I mean, I think they would look good behind me.
- 8:43SPEAKER_01: So I agree.
- 8:45SPEAKER_01: I agree.
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna have to get a couple but I should have some dragons.
- 8:49SPEAKER_01: I see got that eagle, right?
- 8:50SPEAKER_01: I think I know we I know there's hummingbirds.
- 8:52SPEAKER_01: I I'll have to see if there's an eagle, but there's there's a few different animals and stuff like that too.
- 8:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm big into like dragon stuff, so that's what caught my eye with that one.
- 9:02SPEAKER_01: So yeah, I'm decided to have like what's that no go ahead.
- 9:07SPEAKER_01: I was I was just gonna say, like, before before this too, I wasn't huge into crystals, but like we care we carry a little pouch with us of certain crystals.
- 9:16SPEAKER_01: Um, and she has some like ghost hunting kits on the site.
- 9:20SPEAKER_01: But yeah, like when we did this ritual, we put crystals in the corners of the room and kind of got Palo Santo and opened up a window, and like, yeah, that day we we had nothing since then.
- 9:31SPEAKER_01: So um, I'm a believer it works, but like, like to your point, right?
- 9:34SPEAKER_01: It's all what you believe in and what you give energy to.
- 9:38SPEAKER_01: Um, I also believe that too.
- 9:40SPEAKER_00: No, I mean, I've seen I don't know what crystal it was, someone had one, and it was supposed to block like EMF, you know, energy.
- 9:49SPEAKER_00: So you put it around an EMF detector and put the phone up to it, nothing.
- 9:55SPEAKER_00: Took it off, put the phone up to it, thing went crazy.
- 9:58SPEAKER_00: So it does work.
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: My one philosophy is though, is like it's hard, like your brain crystals protect yourself in investigation.
- 10:08SPEAKER_00: Is that gonna scare the spirits away?
- 10:10SPEAKER_00: Keep them away from you.
- 10:12SPEAKER_00: But crystals are energy, spirits feed off energy.
- 10:17SPEAKER_00: So are you amplifying the spirits too?
- 10:23SPEAKER_01: So it's funny you said that.
- 10:24SPEAKER_01: So we did an investigation at the Monte Vista in Flagstaff, Arizona.
- 10:29SPEAKER_01: Um, and we we show up the crystals, we put on a table, and nothing was happening like for a while for a long time.
- 10:36SPEAKER_01: So we we left, we came back, and still nothing.
- 10:39SPEAKER_01: So then all of a sudden we're like, Well, we got all these crystals out, like let's just put them in drawers and back in the suitcase.
- 10:44SPEAKER_01: And yeah, like sure enough, within maybe 15 minutes, like the REM pod went off, and then stuff started happening that we're used to.
- 10:53SPEAKER_01: So, yeah, you just never know.
- 10:55SPEAKER_00: They do something, I can tell you that much.
- 10:57SPEAKER_00: I mean, you can't the claims are out there that they do work, if it's for protection or if it's for bringing spirits to you or whatever you want to do.
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 11:06SPEAKER_00: I mean, again, I'm not a crystal fan.
- 11:09SPEAKER_00: I mean, I think they're cool looking, I think your skulls are awesome, and I'll probably get some.
- 11:15SPEAKER_00: But let's get let's get investigation stuff.
- 11:18SPEAKER_00: So, where was the first place you got to investigate besides your work?
- 11:22SPEAKER_01: Um, so I think the first one was um, so our first solo one with just us was on Jerome Grand Hotel in Jerome, Arizona.
- 11:30SPEAKER_01: So if you look up Arizona, Jerome's probably people say the most haunted city in Arizona.
- 11:36SPEAKER_01: Um, so that was our first one.
- 11:38SPEAKER_01: We did that in Bisbe um with a Copper Queen.
- 11:41SPEAKER_01: Those were our first two.
- 11:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I've heard of Bisbee.
- 11:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah, love Bisbee.
- 11:47SPEAKER_01: Super small town.
- 11:49SPEAKER_01: Um, it's cool driving in.
- 11:50SPEAKER_01: All the houses are built into like the cliffs and mountains.
- 11:54SPEAKER_01: Um, and I would say that whole town is haunted.
- 11:56SPEAKER_01: Like every hotel almost I feel is haunted.
- 11:59SPEAKER_01: It's close to tombstone, like 20 minutes.
- 12:01SPEAKER_01: So you got even more haunted stuff there.
- 12:03SPEAKER_01: Um, so it's just a cool area, but yeah, a ton, a ton, a ton of hotels are haunted there.
- 12:08SPEAKER_01: And a mine city, right?
- 12:09SPEAKER_01: A lot of the mind city is just so much crime and deaths and you know, prostitution and different things like that.
- 12:16SPEAKER_01: Where yeah, like it's a hot spot for poor spirits.
- 12:20SPEAKER_00: I was gonna ask, yeah, why do you think it's so you know active as it from the history or the more recent history, or just a combination of everything?
- 12:28SPEAKER_01: Um, I think combo, but I think it's more it's more the past um with so many deaths back then.
- 12:34SPEAKER_01: And then, like I said, you got all those minerals and stuff in the ground, right?
- 12:38SPEAKER_01: So, like again, you talk about crystals and more energy, running water, just stuff like that.
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: So um, yeah, I I think it and it's wild west.
- 12:46SPEAKER_01: It was the wild west back then, so just a ton of ton of deaths, um, like in every street corner, really.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I mean, there was no law back then.
- 12:54SPEAKER_00: You were the law, so I mean, who knows?
- 12:58SPEAKER_00: Especially in mining.
- 12:59SPEAKER_00: I mean, mining towns are huge with paranormal.
- 13:04SPEAKER_00: Now, I haven't been out to Arizona for a long time, but is this still?
- 13:10SPEAKER_00: I know it's was being built up pretty good, modernized, if you want to call it.
- 13:14SPEAKER_00: It's just is there still a lot of like old towns?
- 13:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we still have a lot of old towns.
- 13:20SPEAKER_01: Um, there's a few still like ghost towns, um, Oatman, um, Globe is really haunted, Clifton is really haunted, and those are just small, small old towns that um not a lot has changed, not a lot of new infrastructure.
- 13:34SPEAKER_01: Um, so yeah, you still you still are able to get a lot of your old old investigations here.
- 13:39SPEAKER_01: Um, and like and Jerome, too.
- 13:40SPEAKER_01: Like Jerome's kind of grown, but it's still small town feel.
- 13:44SPEAKER_01: It still has the same haunted places, um, a lot of businesses, but like I said, the the town still feels super small.
- 13:50SPEAKER_01: And like Jerome, I'm going off memory, but it was a hospital, right?
- 13:54SPEAKER_01: So I think it had like over 700 deaths, seven to nine hundred deaths, something like that is sticking in my mind.
- 14:00SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, you just got all that residual stuff still there.
- 14:04SPEAKER_00: I mean, a lot of people like don't know this, they know this, but they don't want to know it.
- 14:08SPEAKER_00: When you see like a newer building or newer house, they're like, it can't be haunted.
- 14:13SPEAKER_00: Well, what was on that land before?
- 14:16SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 14:17SPEAKER_00: You're talking a lot of history.
- 14:18SPEAKER_00: We have a place, a city that we visit a lot, Bel Air, Ohio.
- 14:23SPEAKER_00: And you had the Native American Wars there, you had coal mine disasters there, you had the KKK was there.
- 14:31SPEAKER_00: I mean, it was just a lot of I want to say history there, and some dark history.
- 14:36SPEAKER_00: I mean, with coal mine explosions and everything else, and it's just a hot spot for paranormal.
- 14:41SPEAKER_00: And there's a couple houses there that do paranormal investigations, but I think that whole town has something going on.
- 14:48SPEAKER_00: So I'm sure it's the same way, right?
- 14:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'm sure it's the same way.
- 14:52SPEAKER_01: I mean, we got a ton of Native Americans here too, so like all that too, and rituals, and yeah, for sure.
- 15:01SPEAKER_00: I mean, how much blood was spilled on the ground out there, and same here.
- 15:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah, exactly.
- 15:08SPEAKER_00: I'm a big believer.
- 15:09SPEAKER_00: If you ask enough questions, you can make anything on it.
- 15:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I definitely agree with that.
- 15:14SPEAKER_01: And then, too, like you got your your own spirit guides, right?
- 15:17SPEAKER_01: Like, that's always something I'm trying to debunk in investigations because um, like my name, ever since we did the terror trader in Chandler, um, which was still which within three, four months of when we started, so pretty early on in our paranormal career, um, like it says my name.
- 15:35SPEAKER_01: Like a spirit will say my name every single investigation.
- 15:38SPEAKER_01: So sometimes I'm I'm like, you know, I gotta say, like we only want to talk to the spirits of X location, right?
- 15:45SPEAKER_01: Just in case it's my spirit guides or or whatever coming through.
- 15:49SPEAKER_01: Um, I know I'm pretty blocked off, so I'm I'm trying, I'm gonna start working on like opening up my third eye to connect a little more and things like that.
- 15:57SPEAKER_01: Because I do feel like I do have my own spirits like trying to talk to me at these places, and I kind of got to shut them up so I could, you know, investigate the actual spirits of the place.
- 16:07SPEAKER_01: So like that's always something I'm battling.
- 16:09SPEAKER_01: So yeah, so I think even new places could have spirits, or if you buy used stuff, like things are attached and things like that.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: So I mean, that's weird because you're talking about open up, open up your third eye.
- 16:21SPEAKER_00: And when I do investigation, especially when I do Estes, you know, I talk to myself, like, talk to me, like I'm opening myself up to you.
- 16:30SPEAKER_00: You know, it's you're not coming home with me, I can tell you that much.
- 16:34SPEAKER_00: But you know, I am there to try to get answers.
- 16:37SPEAKER_00: So, what is your main reason or your wife's main reason for investigating?
- 16:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it for both of us, it's it's that it's to get answers, it's to prove to people that, like, yeah, there's more, you know, beyond of just us living here.
- 16:52SPEAKER_01: Um, so for like my wife, her growing up with it, like, so she's always trying to prove, like, hey, I wasn't crazy.
- 16:58SPEAKER_01: Like, her parents didn't believe her for the longest time.
- 17:01SPEAKER_01: Um, like, so she she's constantly trying to prove it.
- 17:04SPEAKER_01: And then same, like, I've just been so into it from early on where yeah, it's just trying to learn stories, trying to learn histories, um, right, respect the location.
- 17:15SPEAKER_01: Um, so yeah, so yeah, we're we're really enjoying it right now.
- 17:19SPEAKER_00: Oh man, that's cool.
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: I mean, you guys get to do something together.
- 17:22SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's something to do.
- 17:24SPEAKER_00: So, I mean, like, hey honey, what do you want to do tonight?
- 17:27SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 17:27SPEAKER_00: Let's go talk to some dead, you know.
- 17:30SPEAKER_01: I mean, yeah, it's been new experiences for us too, right?
- 17:35SPEAKER_01: We're we're used to the normal like beach vacations, and now our vacations are kind of around haunted places and locations, so yeah, it's been fascinating.
- 17:44SPEAKER_01: It's something I never pictured doing.
- 17:46SPEAKER_01: Um, so it's just been a cool journey so far.
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and you get to see so much history too.
- 17:52SPEAKER_00: I always tell people that that aren't into the paranormal.
- 17:54SPEAKER_00: I'm like, but I get to go to these buildings that are just historical, yeah.
- 17:59SPEAKER_00: And that and stuff, I don't care if I go and don't get anything, I'm going to these pretty cool places.
- 18:05SPEAKER_01: So yeah, it's been a highlight for us too to see all these old places that we probably would have never looked at or booked, you know, a stay in.
- 18:13SPEAKER_01: Uh I remember like we talked about Bisbee.
- 18:15SPEAKER_01: We stay, we went to Bisbee shoot over 10 plus years ago.
- 18:20SPEAKER_01: And we went to the Copper Queen before we understood the the paranormal stuff like that.
- 18:24SPEAKER_01: And we're like, oh, these rooms are old and it's kind of stinky, like we're not staying here.
- 18:28SPEAKER_01: And you know, so we left.
- 18:29SPEAKER_01: And now it's like, no, we want to pay for your most haunted room, and right, it's always the most expensive, but like now we're like throwing money to to stay there.
- 18:37SPEAKER_01: Where 10 years ago we're like, heck no, this place is a dump.
- 18:40SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 18:40SPEAKER_01: And Copper Queen isn't a dump, but like there are older places that are you know kind of like that.
- 18:46SPEAKER_00: And that's what excites us.
- 18:47SPEAKER_00: Like you go to like you know, the washi club or whatever it is, it's an old building with you know a bed, a twin-size bed that's when you lay on it's just all springs.
- 18:58SPEAKER_00: But that's that's what we look for now.
- 19:00SPEAKER_00: We want that old haunted place.
- 19:04SPEAKER_00: That's kind of cool.
- 19:05SPEAKER_00: Um now, has your stake, your wife's not it happens all the time though, but does your wife ever talk like to her grandmother or her mom?
- 19:15SPEAKER_00: I mean, you said her mom didn't believe her, but it seems like the more people I talk to, this ability is passed down from generations.
- 19:27SPEAKER_01: Interesting.
- 19:28SPEAKER_01: Um, no, so nobody that I'm aware of in her family have has a gift.
- 19:34SPEAKER_01: Um, she's had that gift, like I said, at a small age.
- 19:39SPEAKER_01: Um, and a neighbor in front of her actually went to her mom and said, Hey, your daughter, you know, had has this gift.
- 19:46SPEAKER_01: I would like to teach her.
- 19:47SPEAKER_01: And the neighbor in front would do like scribing, I guess, right?
- 19:51SPEAKER_01: Like the writing and um all that stuff.
- 19:53SPEAKER_01: Um, and and they didn't take her up on that offer.
- 19:56SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, ever since then, she's just always had that gift.
- 20:00SPEAKER_01: But nobody that I know of um and that she shared in her bloodline has that same.
- 20:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's just interesting because usually a lot of people I talk to have, but they don't find out till later because you know, back in the day you didn't talk about it because that was witchcraft, or you're crazy, or you know, schizophrenic because you're talking to dead people, you know.
- 20:20SPEAKER_00: So it wasn't talked about, right?
- 20:23SPEAKER_00: And it's just so many people are like, Yeah, you know, my grandmother told me, you know, when she was 90 years old, that you know, she had that gift when she was young and never knew.
- 20:32SPEAKER_00: Um, so what are you guys' plans with the store?
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: I see you guys have some stuff coming out, like teas and oils and everything.
- 20:40SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, so um we're gonna stay with the crystals mainly, trying to build that up and trying to get like just cool designs and and different, like I talked about, like different animals and stuff like that that people may enjoy.
- 20:52SPEAKER_01: Um, yeah, but next is oils and teas.
- 20:55SPEAKER_01: Um, like I said, we're trying to build like paranormal kits um that you could take for protection.
- 21:00SPEAKER_01: Um, kits if you happen to have something in your home, um, right?
- 21:04SPEAKER_01: Things like that.
- 21:04SPEAKER_01: So we we are trying different things.
- 21:06SPEAKER_01: Um yeah, it sucks.
- 21:08SPEAKER_01: She is in here because she just got we just got something new.
- 21:10SPEAKER_01: Um, I forget what it's called, but it it only grows on on bones, right?
- 21:15SPEAKER_01: So like you have to be dead, and this crystal grows on bones.
- 21:18SPEAKER_01: So we've we've got a bunch of that and and has all these healing properties and and different things.
- 21:23SPEAKER_01: So um, yeah, so more to come on that.
- 21:26SPEAKER_01: But yeah, we so we we do we just plan to grow more and and and you know get even bigger.
- 21:32SPEAKER_00: Uh your skulls, do you guys carve them or have someone carve them?
- 21:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah, she has she has a wholesaler that does a lot of it.
- 21:40SPEAKER_01: Um, right.
- 21:41SPEAKER_01: So yeah, so we can put in orders, different things.
- 21:44SPEAKER_01: Um, we don't personally do the carving, but yeah, we we have somebody.
- 21:48SPEAKER_00: Okay, it's just interesting to see if you do it or not.
- 21:52SPEAKER_01: And we've we've even gotten stuff for like kids, like you know, when labu boos were all that a huge trend, right?
- 21:58SPEAKER_01: Like if you remember a few months back.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: Um, like we even got some of those, and those are on the site.
- 22:03SPEAKER_01: And like I said, the dragons and hummingbirds, and just different things that people have kind of asked for.
- 22:08SPEAKER_01: Um, wolves, we got some wolf heads, um, stuff like that too.
- 22:12SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's cool.
- 22:14SPEAKER_00: So I see skulls, a lot of skulls behind you.
- 22:18SPEAKER_00: Um, I know I don't want to butcher anything here, but like the day of the dead, Mexico.
- 22:25SPEAKER_00: It's you know, based a lot of skulls.
- 22:28SPEAKER_00: I've never had anybody on, you know, the reason behind that, or is it just a symbol?
- 22:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so Dia de los Muertos.
- 22:36SPEAKER_01: Um, it's just we we're like we talked about earlier, we're like honoring our loved ones, right?
- 22:40SPEAKER_01: So, and it goes from animals to our humans and our family, right?
- 22:44SPEAKER_01: So there's a theme every night.
- 22:46SPEAKER_01: Um, you put something out for them, right?
- 22:48SPEAKER_01: Maybe their favorite drink, right?
- 22:49SPEAKER_01: So it it um it's basically you believe that they're coming to visit you again, right?
- 22:55SPEAKER_01: On this on this special day on that year, they could come, they visit you.
- 22:59SPEAKER_01: So you leave offerings for them.
- 23:01SPEAKER_01: Um, we put up um, you know, like their pictures, their favorite foods, desserts, drinks, um, and we just kind of honor them and talk to them during that, you know, during that few days.
- 23:11SPEAKER_01: Um, so yeah, skulls, skulls are part of it.
- 23:13SPEAKER_01: And yeah, that's my whole background, right?
- 23:15SPEAKER_01: The sugar skulls, um, things like that have always been part of it.
- 23:19SPEAKER_01: And you know, we light candles and stuff like that on the altars.
- 23:23SPEAKER_00: Is this practice in the United States too?
- 23:25SPEAKER_01: Um, it is.
- 23:26SPEAKER_01: It's mainly it's as far as I know, it's all the Mexican culture, right?
- 23:30SPEAKER_01: That's something we do.
- 23:31SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, it's definitely United States, but huge, huge in Mexico.
- 23:35SPEAKER_01: Mexico City um has a huge, huge event.
- 23:39SPEAKER_01: I think it's actually their biggest tourist um event of the year, and they have parades, ceremonies, all kinds of different things.
- 23:46SPEAKER_00: So, did your wife grow up in the same then?
- 23:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like the same culture and beliefs.
- 23:53SPEAKER_01: Yep, yep.
- 23:54SPEAKER_00: So, when did you guys decide like you started doing the paranormal?
- 23:58SPEAKER_00: She's always in like seeing the paranormal.
- 24:01SPEAKER_00: When did you go to her and say, hey, let's start investigating?
- 24:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so it was a little over a year ago, right?
- 24:07SPEAKER_01: So it was after um that group came to me about at work, right?
- 24:11SPEAKER_01: So I was explaining to her, um, and then they invited us.
- 24:15SPEAKER_01: So that that was our first investigation was with them at the Copper Queen.
- 24:20SPEAKER_01: Um on our YouTube, it's like a seven-minute video, um, but from cell phone footage, right?
- 24:25SPEAKER_01: I didn't even have a camera then.
- 24:27SPEAKER_01: So once we actually went into that investigation and saw how it's done, we're like, oh, we could totally do this.
- 24:33SPEAKER_01: Like, let's buy some stuff, right?
- 24:34SPEAKER_01: So I started researching, I bought all this stuff, the camera, and then that's when we went to Jerome.
- 24:39SPEAKER_01: But Jerome, I think we only had a camera and a REM pod and dowsing rods.
- 24:44SPEAKER_01: I think that was it, right?
- 24:46SPEAKER_01: So, like, that's what we used, and then you know, we just kept buying and buying it and researching a little bit more.
- 24:51SPEAKER_01: But I think once we went on that investigation with them and saw like stuff they were getting, and it was kind of like pretty easy in a way.
- 24:59SPEAKER_01: We're like, oh, okay, like this is pretty cool.
- 25:02SPEAKER_01: And then, like I said, just my love for like ghost adventures and not not so much how they investigate, but like seeing the actual locations.
- 25:10SPEAKER_01: Like, I love looking at other people's videos to find new new locations we never thought about.
- 25:15SPEAKER_00: That leads us to this question from LA here.
- 25:19SPEAKER_01: That's a great one.
- 25:21SPEAKER_01: Um, so out west, I would say I think my favorite place, and it was a bucket list.
- 25:27SPEAKER_01: Um, and I didn't think we would ever go to was the Queen Mary in Long Beach, California.
- 25:32SPEAKER_01: Um, we had a ton of fun there.
- 25:35SPEAKER_01: Um just just even if we didn't get anything, the ship alone is just something cool to see and see all the fixtures and how um like how elegant it was, right?
- 25:46SPEAKER_01: And like back in the day, right?
- 25:47SPEAKER_01: That they built that to compete with like the Titanic.
- 25:50SPEAKER_01: So all this money they invested, you know, way back then to be able to see it.
- 25:55SPEAKER_01: Um, that was super cool.
- 25:57SPEAKER_01: And then just just the investigation.
- 25:58SPEAKER_01: We had a lot of fun.
- 26:00SPEAKER_01: I think almost all their main spirits that are known there came and spoke with us.
- 26:04SPEAKER_01: Um, and I think we ended up doing like a three-part series with that.
- 26:07SPEAKER_01: So um that was my favorite, and I feel like one of the most haunted.
- 26:12SPEAKER_01: Um, Arizona.
- 26:13SPEAKER_01: I I really enjoyed Clifton, um, just the whole town.
- 26:16SPEAKER_01: Like it just the we did three different investigations in in two days, and um, everything just seemed to work, like everything just seemed to work out that trip.
- 26:24SPEAKER_01: So that's I would say that's my second favorite.
- 26:27SPEAKER_00: What's your favorite piece of equipment to use?
- 26:30SPEAKER_01: Um, so it's it's varied.
- 26:32SPEAKER_01: Um, so first when we first got the dead bow, like that that was probably my favorite, especially like I we've been able to use it for like, you know, we'll get an EVP saying, you know, like how many spirits are here?
- 26:45SPEAKER_01: And then it'll say seven, right?
- 26:47SPEAKER_01: And then we're like, could you show us with the dead bow how many are here?
- 26:50SPEAKER_01: And it'll hit, you know, it hit seven times.
- 26:52SPEAKER_01: So like that was super cool.
- 26:54SPEAKER_01: Um, but we got like some old cat balls that are just so hard to make them get set off.
- 27:00SPEAKER_01: So like when those ones get set off, I'm like, like, like that's been my new favorite.
- 27:04SPEAKER_01: We like we probably need new ones, but like, yeah, like when those really go off, like they really had to move them.
- 27:10SPEAKER_01: Um, so like lately that's been my favorite, which is small time.
- 27:13SPEAKER_01: But yeah, I I like the dead bell.
- 27:15SPEAKER_01: Um, I do want to get some better motion ropes um and things like that.
- 27:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, okay.
- 27:21SPEAKER_01: Um, so my Spanish um isn't the greatest, right?
- 27:25SPEAKER_01: Like when I'm practicing it, it it's decent, but I hardly get to speak it, right?
- 27:30SPEAKER_01: So like we've had some investigation, especially like the Cosmo, the Cosmopolitan in San Diego.
- 27:36SPEAKER_01: Um, that was all one weekend where we did Queen Mary, the Cosmo, and then Hotel del Coronado.
- 27:42SPEAKER_01: Um, so we did get some Spanish there at the Cosmo.
- 27:45SPEAKER_01: Um, Yisidora Bandini, um, she she's at the Cosmo, and you know, they spoke Spanish.
- 27:51SPEAKER_01: Um, so yeah, we were able to get some Spanish stuff.
- 27:55SPEAKER_01: Um, this last investigation that is not um out yet.
- 27:59SPEAKER_01: You know, we got a few things come through where we're trying to determine if it was my spirit, guys, because we got a lot of like Mijo, which is son in Spanish, right?
- 28:08SPEAKER_01: Like that's a term a lot of like grandparents will use in different things like that.
- 28:13SPEAKER_01: Um, so yeah, so I definitely got to get better at my Spanish, especially when we go to Doll Island.
- 28:18SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, we've gotten some good stuff in Spanish, um, especially at some of the cemeteries we went to in Old Town, San Diego.
- 28:26SPEAKER_01: That's a heavy, heavy um like bilingual area, um, especially back in the day, migrant workers.
- 28:33SPEAKER_01: So you have you had a lot of like Hispanics buried there.
- 28:37SPEAKER_01: So like Spanish will come through.
- 28:39SPEAKER_01: Sometimes we catch it, sometimes we don't, but yeah, it's something I definitely want to get better on because I think it could um take us to the next level.
- 28:48SPEAKER_00: I mean, that's because there was a show, I think it was Ghost Adventures or Ghost Hunters a while ago, because someone asked that question to them, they go over to Europe and they get English.
- 29:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 29:01SPEAKER_00: And they're saying, Well, when spirits die, they speak the language you know.
- 29:06SPEAKER_00: I'm like, I don't think that's how it works because I don't think you become bilingual when you die.
- 29:11SPEAKER_00: You know, it's just yeah.
- 29:13SPEAKER_00: So I'm glad you said you get Spanish words because that just proves the point that they're just making a crap up, I think.
- 29:21SPEAKER_00: I mean, yeah, to me.
- 29:23SPEAKER_00: To me too.
- 29:24SPEAKER_00: So, what's your guys' future, like investigation-wise?
- 29:27SPEAKER_00: You said you want to go to different states.
- 29:28SPEAKER_00: Is there like one particular state, one particular place you guys really want to go to?
- 29:33SPEAKER_01: Um, so um we we gotta we're gonna do a joint collab here um later this year where we're gonna be going to um Ed and Lorraine's, right?
- 29:43SPEAKER_01: The occult museum.
- 29:44SPEAKER_01: So, like that's probably the highlight of this year, and and followed by Doll Island.
- 29:49SPEAKER_01: So I think I think those two trips will take majority of like the states away, besides a quick, you know, we're we're within six hours of California.
- 29:58SPEAKER_01: Um, right, so that's a quick one.
- 29:59SPEAKER_01: So we we'll probably hit a California, but yeah, Ed and Lorraine's.
- 30:03SPEAKER_01: I don't know if you know, Annabelle, like I don't know if anything's gonna top that for us, at least this year.
- 30:07SPEAKER_01: So, like, yeah, we're we're we're expecting big things there.
- 30:11SPEAKER_01: Um, also, we're we're gonna actually go back.
- 30:13SPEAKER_01: So we're gonna start here a new series.
- 30:16SPEAKER_01: Um, it's called the evidence room, um, where we're gonna go back and kind of rewatch all our videos and kind of talk about it.
- 30:24SPEAKER_01: Um, and then give you guys some insights of like stuff behind the scenes that you know you may not have known.
- 30:30SPEAKER_01: Like we we had a couple investigations where for like 30 minutes we thought we got great stuff and then the mic cut out the whole time, right?
- 30:37SPEAKER_01: Or like just certain things that happened on the trip that was kind of weird that we thought, hey, this this might you know be something here um that we didn't necessarily talk about it during the investigation.
- 30:48SPEAKER_01: So we kind of want to let you guys in um behind the scenes and kind of go through that.
- 30:53SPEAKER_01: So um, yeah, we're gonna have that probably drop in April.
- 30:56SPEAKER_00: That's cool.
- 30:57SPEAKER_00: I mean, Adam Lorraine's will be cool, but I think Doll Island is gonna be your best one.
- 31:01SPEAKER_00: You think so?
- 31:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think so.
- 31:03SPEAKER_00: I just have a feeling.
- 31:04SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's just I don't know.
- 31:05SPEAKER_00: I think Adam Lorraine's it's cool, it's hyped up though.
- 31:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah, okay.
- 31:10SPEAKER_00: So I can see but I mean there are a lot of artifacts there that even they don't know what's attached to them, so you guys might get something there.
- 31:19SPEAKER_00: But I think just going through Doll Island through the history, getting there is just gonna be an unbelievable experience.
- 31:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah, same.
- 31:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so I'm looking forward to that and seeing what else we kind of get into.
- 31:30SPEAKER_01: Like, you know, I know there's museums and stuff, so we talked about maybe doing some stuff outside of it at night just to see if anything kind of comes through and you know, different artifacts and things like that.
- 31:40SPEAKER_01: Um California, we we still want to try to get to the Whaly House, the Winchester, um, all those kind of places, you know.
- 31:47SPEAKER_01: But so we'll see, we'll see what we we end up doing.
- 31:50SPEAKER_00: Now, do you prefer like the big bigger name places or do you prefer like the ones that are kind of unknown?
- 31:58SPEAKER_01: Um, so we've we've done both.
- 32:00SPEAKER_01: Um I personally, I think for me, I think I like the unknown a little bit.
- 32:06SPEAKER_01: Like I know I like to know some stuff just to know what I'm kind of getting into, right?
- 32:10SPEAKER_01: We try to stay as we're going to Ed and Lorraine's, but we try to stay away from like super dark places, right?
- 32:17SPEAKER_01: Um, so I try to do some research, but um, we've there's been at least three, three places we've been to um last year that had either one or no videos whatsoever on it um on YouTube or anywhere else.
- 32:31SPEAKER_01: It was just stories, right?
- 32:33SPEAKER_01: On like website stories, but no, no evidence.
- 32:36SPEAKER_01: So like that that was super cool for us to be like the first ones to get you know content out there.
- 32:42SPEAKER_01: So yeah, I like those kind of places.
