- 0:00Speaker 1: The Force will be with you always. Hello, everyone, Welcome
- 0:20Speaker 1: back to another episode of the Star Wars Alliance where
- 0:23Speaker 1: Clay was about to say something I should have warded it,
- 0:26Speaker 1: but I was hidding go live but it fails at that. Hi, guys,
- 0:33Speaker 1: we're here to talk about that's not right, that's it's
- 0:37Speaker 1: the Dynasty of Evil in the background, Clay, hold on,
- 0:41Speaker 1: hold on here here, guys.
- 0:43Speaker 2: I I did the uh stream yard stuff on my laptop,
- 0:50Speaker 2: not on my desktop, So I need to go find
- 0:53Speaker 2: it and I'll put up in the background.
- 0:57Speaker 1: At least I caught it sooner or rather than.
- 1:02Speaker 3: Y'all.
- 1:02Speaker 1: We're here to talk about Disney's new CEO that is
- 1:05Speaker 1: going to be taking over mid March, as well as
- 1:10Speaker 1: Zorata Cordova is a Crash of Fate. Guys, we are
- 1:16Speaker 1: going to with in honor of the first official why
- 1:22Speaker 1: a romance novel in the Star Wars genre, We're talking
- 1:28Speaker 1: this month about the two romance novels that we have
- 1:31Speaker 1: not talked about already, which are a Crash of Fate
- 1:34Speaker 1: and Lost Star. So that is what you can look
- 1:40Speaker 1: forward to, especially with it being Valentine's Day, Like it's
- 1:43Speaker 1: super super comforting talking about romance in this vein of things.
- 1:51Speaker 1: So Crash of Fate was first, just because I feel
- 1:55Speaker 1: like Lost Stars is like the big one in Star Wars,
- 1:59Speaker 1: the everybody talks about, and so for a Valentine's Day episode,
- 2:02Speaker 1: I was like, that would makes the most sense to
- 2:05Speaker 1: do for Valentine's Day. But I love this book that
- 2:08Speaker 1: we're going to talk about today, But we got to
- 2:11Speaker 1: talk about news first. So Clay, you probably know more
- 2:17Speaker 1: about this guy than I do, so.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Uh no, I don't. But there's two things that I
- 2:24Speaker 2: really want to bring up. One the whole reason why
- 2:28Speaker 2: I wanted to talk about uh his name being.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Josh de Armom, Yes, that's how I pronounce it.
- 2:46Speaker 2: He is, of course going to be the new CEO
- 2:50Speaker 2: of Disney. We have felt all sorts of different ways
- 2:56Speaker 2: when it comes to.
- 2:58Speaker 3: Bob Iger and his leadership at Disney.
- 3:04Speaker 2: We've loved him, we've hated him, We've you know, threw
- 3:09Speaker 2: our fists at him, you know, not throw our fist,
- 3:14Speaker 2: shake our fist at him. With a lot of decisions
- 3:18Speaker 2: that he's recently made, more so because of the of
- 3:23Speaker 2: course hit piece that came out about the Hunt Forbidden Solo,
- 3:28Speaker 2: and my question to you is. And it's harder for
- 3:37Speaker 2: you to answer this question because you don't know anything
- 3:39Speaker 2: about Josh.
- 3:43Speaker 3: But is he going to play ball? That's my real question.
- 3:50Speaker 2: And this is more so not just to you, but
- 3:53Speaker 2: to everybody and to myself, and just like.
- 3:56Speaker 3: What does this mean for this new leadership? You know?
- 4:01Speaker 1: Yeah, So it's hard to say, right because this guy
- 4:08Speaker 1: has mostly been in charge of it looks like the
- 4:16Speaker 1: Disney Experiences. He's the chairman of the Disney Experiences, which
- 4:21Speaker 1: I think relegates him to parks. Yes, in that regard,
- 4:26Speaker 1: which we had heard that Disney was going to try
- 4:29Speaker 1: to start pushing the parks a little bit more and
- 4:31Speaker 1: getting more revenue out of the parks. So this move
- 4:34Speaker 1: makes sense. My thought process is is that Josh is
- 4:41Speaker 1: not going to have a whole lot of feedback on
- 4:44Speaker 1: the experience, like on the entertainment side of things. He's
- 4:47Speaker 1: gonna more run the business element of things. Because the
- 4:53Speaker 1: runner up for the CEO spot, Daniel Walden, has been
- 4:59Speaker 1: named and where was it? He has been named president
- 5:04Speaker 1: and Chief Creative Officer, which chief creative officer has not
- 5:08Speaker 1: apparently been something that Disney has had previously. The CCO
- 5:13Speaker 1: and the CEO were the same person. So Dana is
- 5:18Speaker 1: currently the TV chief and it looks like the co
- 5:23Speaker 1: chairman of Disney Entertainment. So this move makes sense. I
- 5:30Speaker 1: feel like she has entertainment experience. She can lead the
- 5:34Speaker 1: creative side of things for Disney's ips, all of the
- 5:39Speaker 1: different elements and everything, and hopefully they work very much
- 5:47Speaker 1: like James Gunn and Peter Saffron, hopefully like Dave Filoni
- 5:52Speaker 1: and oh my gosh, I've already forgotten.
- 5:54Speaker 3: Her name, uh Brennan.
- 6:00Speaker 1: And Brinan, and so hopefully this works in a very
- 6:04Speaker 1: similar vein she doesn't get the co CEO name, but
- 6:11Speaker 1: for Disney, I mean the CEO position would I think.
- 6:16Speaker 2: It still holds a lot of weight. Yeah, I think
- 6:18Speaker 2: that still holds a lot of weight.
- 6:21Speaker 3: And I you know, one of the big things that.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Just recently I think today came out is uh Josh
- 6:34Speaker 2: Diamarro Diamorro, however you want to pronounce. He's come out
- 6:41Speaker 2: and said that AI will not be a leading structure
- 6:51Speaker 2: for Disney moving forward, quoting and saying that, uh, Disney
- 6:58Speaker 2: is the powerhouse that it is because of the creative
- 7:01Speaker 2: minds behind it, and you cannot replace that.
- 7:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I like that.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Now you're only saying it right now you have to
- 7:15Speaker 2: prove it, you have to show it.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Which is exactly the same thing. I feel a little
- 7:21Speaker 1: nervous that we have to deal with new Lucasfilm CEO
- 7:26Speaker 1: or presidents at the same time as new Disney CEO
- 7:30Speaker 1: feel a little wonky in this environment of things. Important
- 7:35Speaker 1: to note, I saw this on Twitter, but Alan is
- 7:39Speaker 1: still on the Disney board and he was one of
- 7:42Speaker 1: the ones who said no to the Hunt for Ben Solo.
- 7:45Speaker 1: So now the question is is if that script were
- 7:50Speaker 1: to come back up, does he immediately cut it out
- 7:59Speaker 1: or does Day and do Dana and Josh get a
- 8:04Speaker 1: fighting chance for it if they see fit.
- 8:07Speaker 2: I would hope so, more so only because legitimately, due
- 8:12Speaker 2: to the reaction of its announcement that it will never
- 8:18Speaker 2: be there was a huge wave on all platforms and
- 8:25Speaker 2: a huge reaction from.
- 8:29Speaker 3: You know, the hunt of beIN Solo.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Yep, that I think that if this were to come
- 8:35Speaker 2: up again, they would legitimately say, hey, let's pause for
- 8:39Speaker 2: a second.
- 8:40Speaker 3: Let's actually consider this. What does this mean for us? Right?
- 8:46Speaker 2: So, I think that purely based off of you know,
- 8:52Speaker 2: what has happened in the past, they do get that
- 8:55Speaker 2: fighting chance. I really hope that because again, guys, like
- 9:03Speaker 2: we've talked about this before. We've had a park Sky
- 9:08Speaker 2: in the chair before.
- 9:12Speaker 3: I dubbed him.
- 9:13Speaker 2: Bad Bob way back that, way back when, and Josh,
- 9:21Speaker 2: it's so weird how things you know it, and but
- 9:23Speaker 2: it's technically how things work when it comes to corporate business.
- 9:27Speaker 2: Bad Bob moved up and Josh, Josh literally moved in
- 9:31Speaker 2: the spot that bad Bob was in.
- 9:33Speaker 3: Yeah, and so when bad Bob.
- 9:35Speaker 2: Left, good Bob, mediocre Bob now you know, took his spot.
- 9:43Speaker 2: Now he's leaving, and now Josh is going up. So
- 9:46Speaker 2: like this dude has been in it for the.
- 9:48Speaker 3: Long run when it comes to Disney.
- 9:51Speaker 2: So I'm excited to see what the separation of powers
- 9:57Speaker 2: has for Disney, what this means for the future years
- 10:05Speaker 2: because everything is kind of already set in stone for
- 10:08Speaker 2: what's already coming out. I don't think they're gonna have
- 10:12Speaker 2: much control over what happens to those movies, and like
- 10:20Speaker 2: control over like reactionary control over what happens if the
- 10:27Speaker 2: you know, movies fail in the box office.
- 10:28Speaker 3: On all of that. So, yeah, I think really.
- 10:33Speaker 2: We see a bunch of their choices will affect anything
- 10:38Speaker 2: after twenty twenty six.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I think so too, because you're not gonna come
- 10:46Speaker 1: in and cut things out like like Filony's not gonna
- 10:52Speaker 1: come and just like completely take Starfighter out from yeah
- 10:57Speaker 1: release releasing, like that's not gonna happen. Sorry, So yeah,
- 11:07Speaker 1: I definitely would think we're not going to see it's
- 11:11Speaker 1: twenty twenty seven production, maybe late December before we see
- 11:18Speaker 1: anything like come of their reign in the movie side,
- 11:23Speaker 1: Like you said, yeah.
- 11:25Speaker 3: For sure. But guys, that's really all the news.
- 11:29Speaker 2: I was actually looking at our newsfeed in the Star
- 11:32Speaker 2: Wars Alliance chat and there's really nothing that we talked about.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Well, okay, there is one more thing, but it's mainly
- 11:40Speaker 1: just a question because so Jason Mamula has come out
- 11:47Speaker 1: and said that he and Dave Bautista want to be
- 11:50Speaker 1: in Star Wars, particularly as villains. So you see this happening.
- 11:56Speaker 2: So I was literally thinking about this on my way
- 12:01Speaker 2: to work, and both of these names have come up
- 12:10Speaker 2: for the exact same character. And unfortunately it kind of
- 12:16Speaker 2: shows like the not so creative mindset of Star Wars
- 12:23Speaker 2: fans when it comes to fan casting and villains, because
- 12:28Speaker 2: it's always Hey, that dude could play Bane.
- 12:32Speaker 3: Hey he could be Bane. Hey, he could be Bane.
- 12:39Speaker 3: And I can.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Understand the reasoning why Baine is a towering individual. He's
- 12:51Speaker 2: very intimidating. Momoa and Batista can both be very intimidating
- 12:58Speaker 2: characters on screen.
- 12:59Speaker 3: They've done it before, so yeah, I can see them
- 13:03Speaker 3: playing that type of character. Do I want them to
- 13:08Speaker 3: play Bank? No?
- 13:11Speaker 2: I think Momoa, this is this is kind of like
- 13:18Speaker 2: out of left field, and I don't think you would
- 13:21Speaker 2: ever do it because that character is already done with
- 13:25Speaker 2: but he has not seen a live action.
- 13:28Speaker 3: Version of himself. Mamoa would play a very good Oh shoot,
- 13:35Speaker 3: I forgot his name. Maul's brother, Savage Opress.
- 13:41Speaker 2: Yes, Savage. I think I think Momoa has like the
- 13:48Speaker 2: like beastly anger that Savage has in all of the
- 13:57Speaker 2: episodes that he of course showed up in the Clone.
- 14:02Speaker 2: So I could see Momoa as Savage Batista I could
- 14:08Speaker 2: actually see because like, I think Batista is getting very
- 14:13Speaker 2: used to his like new body. Yeah, he of course
- 14:20Speaker 2: stopped like he's still being healthy. For sure, He's being healthy.
- 14:24Speaker 2: He's working out a whole lot, but he is not
- 14:28Speaker 2: bulking up the way that he used to for roles
- 14:31Speaker 2: and for wrestling for sure, and he's getting older.
- 14:35Speaker 3: He said like, Hey, I can't.
- 14:36Speaker 2: Keep up with everybody who's you know, doing all of
- 14:40Speaker 2: these hardcore workouts for superhero movies anymore. So Yeah, I
- 14:45Speaker 2: think he would be a very interesting, like sci fi villain,
- 14:53Speaker 2: like a like a mad scientist type of character in
- 14:58Speaker 2: Star Wars. I think if if you give him, like
- 15:04Speaker 2: like if if Momoa was the brawn, Batista would be
- 15:08Speaker 2: the brain and hell, I would even be okay with
- 15:11Speaker 2: creating two brand new characters for that exact dynamic. If
- 15:17Speaker 2: you give Batista like this incredible brain and he's wanting to,
- 15:22Speaker 2: you know, do something to throwt the Jedi, you know,
- 15:26Speaker 2: or whatever, and then Mooa being the brawny guy that
- 15:31Speaker 2: he is, being the muscle, I'd be totally doubt for that.
- 15:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I would agree with that, especially if they want
- 15:38Speaker 1: to because they've gotten more into a vein of like, oh,
- 15:41Speaker 1: they want to do Buddy Coup kind of roles, So
- 15:44Speaker 1: I think that would work for me. I don't consider
- 15:51Speaker 1: either of them too famous because I feel like both
- 15:53Speaker 1: have taken on roles. We're very very much hide behind
- 15:57Speaker 1: the role that they're in. They're very good at doing that,
- 15:59Speaker 1: So I don't consider them too famous to take on
- 16:02Speaker 1: a Star Wars role because they tend to blend in
- 16:05Speaker 1: to their surroundings in my mind.
- 16:07Speaker 3: Oh, that's a good question for trapping.
- 16:09Speaker 1: Because we always we always have to have this question
- 16:12Speaker 1: when a celebrity says I want to be on a
- 16:13Speaker 1: Star Wars film. Yeah, like because Snell, We love you Snell,
- 16:17Speaker 1: but we have to like talk about it well because.
- 16:20Speaker 2: Well he's the one that kind of brought it up
- 16:22Speaker 2: to us. Is that, like, some people can be too
- 16:24Speaker 2: famous for Star Wars and I I don't really agree
- 16:30Speaker 2: to that, mainly because we like Star Wars is an
- 16:35Speaker 2: entire universe with plenty of different types of alien species.
- 16:40Speaker 3: Like you can.
- 16:41Speaker 2: Literally make the most famous person you know look unrecognizable.
- 16:47Speaker 3: Like I don't know if people know this, but.
- 16:50Speaker 2: Mark Hamill was in the SpongeBob movie and people did
- 16:55Speaker 2: not know because of so much makeup that he had.
- 17:00Speaker 2: He played the freaking live action version of the flying Dutchman.
- 17:06Speaker 1: Ah, So like, I'm never a SpongeBob person, so I
- 17:11Speaker 1: haven't seen it.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Yeah, well neither have I.
- 17:13Speaker 2: I just I literally saw a random TikTok about it
- 17:18Speaker 2: the other day and I was like, oh, that's Mark
- 17:20Speaker 2: Hamibell and then somebody was like, oh, I didn't even
- 17:22Speaker 2: know that was Mark Hamill. Was like, hah, kind of
- 17:27Speaker 2: just have to look it's Mark Hamill. But but yeah,
- 17:31Speaker 2: I think that with the ability of special effects makeup now,
- 17:39Speaker 2: you can easily have somebody like a Momoa or Batista
- 17:46Speaker 2: be in broad daylight and you never know who it is.
- 17:50Speaker 1: Yep, for sure. I think they'd both be perfect War Wars,
- 17:57Speaker 1: especially as we try to delve more. But I say,
- 18:02Speaker 1: as we try to delve more, I would say, as
- 18:05Speaker 1: we as a society are kind of in the zone
- 18:09Speaker 1: of we must make the villains extremely characterizable and like
- 18:14Speaker 1: make them a huge part of the movie, TV show.
- 18:18Speaker 2: I don't know, do you know, Oh my gosh, hold on,
- 18:24Speaker 2: this might be blasphemous. This might be blasphemous.
- 18:28Speaker 3: Hold on, so.
- 18:31Speaker 1: While he looks that up, guys. A Crash of Fate
- 18:34Speaker 1: was a part of the Galaxies Edge multimedia project, which
- 18:40Speaker 1: included galaxies Edge, Black Spire, A Crash of Fate, Dark Legends,
- 18:45Speaker 1: Myths and Fables, Ellie and Me, several reference books, the
- 18:50Speaker 1: Galaxies Edge comic series Star Wars Adventures Volume six, Flight
- 18:56Speaker 1: of the Falcon and Star Wars Galaxies Edge Echoes of
- 19:00Speaker 1: the Empire. It has had several video game adventures, including
- 19:09Speaker 1: Star Wars Tales from the Galaxies Edge, Star Wars Tales
- 19:11Speaker 1: from the Galaxy's Edge, Last Call, the sims for Star Wars,
- 19:16Speaker 1: Journey to bat To Trading Cards, and more. So. There
- 19:22Speaker 1: is a Oh and a Whole Symphonic Suite by John Williams.
- 19:27Speaker 1: So this was a giant shebang to promote Galaxies Edge
- 19:31Speaker 1: as a park, very similar to Princess in the Scoundrel,
- 19:35Speaker 1: where you can see, Hey, we were told to include
- 19:40Speaker 1: these details to help sell the park to you. Basically,
- 19:46Speaker 1: once you get past the beginning, it becomes less of
- 19:50Speaker 1: a sales pitch, only to turn around at the end
- 19:52Speaker 1: and become more of a sales pitch. I don't consider
- 19:55Speaker 1: that a fault of the writer in this case. I
- 19:59Speaker 1: think you is very similar to Bethriebus. There's only so
- 20:02Speaker 1: much you can do when you're said, hey, you need
- 20:04Speaker 1: to bring these things into it, and if you're told, hey,
- 20:07Speaker 1: you need to mention more of these things in an
- 20:10Speaker 1: ip universe, there's only so much you can do.
- 20:13Speaker 3: Yeah, And I think genuinely, there is enough.
- 20:17Speaker 2: And I like to use this analogy a lot when
- 20:20Speaker 2: it comes to kind of actual contexts in the story
- 20:25Speaker 2: and characters in all of this. There's a lot of
- 20:28Speaker 2: meat and potatoes outside of Galaxy's Edge, right ah, and yeah,
- 20:37Speaker 2: I think that, of course, is where the heart of
- 20:42Speaker 2: this story is. Also, when I said this is blasphemous,
- 20:45Speaker 2: do you think Momoa could play port Ingle?
- 20:58Speaker 1: Maybe a younger porter Ingle where he had the more
- 21:02Speaker 1: muscular edge in the mid like if he were to
- 21:06Speaker 1: be like The Broken Blade for instance, which is where
- 21:10Speaker 1: we're assuming, Okay, that's a porter Ingle comic taking place
- 21:13Speaker 1: in phase three, so he is the older gentleman. Yeah,
- 21:18Speaker 1: I think he would have to put on a lot
- 21:19Speaker 1: of weight for that to create the character there.
- 21:23Speaker 3: Yeah, so I.
- 21:24Speaker 1: Would say maybe a younger one that we saw in
- 21:26Speaker 1: The Blade because he was a little thinner and I
- 21:29Speaker 1: know that controversial to people, but that was the way
- 21:32Speaker 1: the character was described.
- 21:36Speaker 2: And so maybe maybe Okay, yeah, just ran or just
- 21:41Speaker 2: thinking random like other than villains, I was like, oh,
- 21:44Speaker 2: what could they do?
- 21:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I would say he has the Blade skill. I
- 21:49Speaker 1: feel like to do that with all of his other
- 21:51Speaker 1: experience between Like I think it was c on Apple
- 21:56Speaker 1: TV game Aquaman, so he has the experience, I feel
- 22:02Speaker 1: like to maintain the weaponry. It would be interesting to see. Yeah,
- 22:08Speaker 1: because I know Charlestol. That was the other thing we
- 22:10Speaker 1: didn't talk about. Charlestol's newsletter. He said he has some
- 22:13Speaker 1: projects up and coming that are like smaller edge things.
- 22:17Speaker 1: Because we did lie in the Legend of Darth Vader
- 22:21Speaker 1: one that was a limited series. It just had its
- 22:24Speaker 1: final issue. So right now there's really not any ongoing
- 22:29Speaker 1: Star Wars comics. Because also it looks like Alex Sigoura's
- 22:34Speaker 1: Star Wars run is also ending at issue number twelve, so.
- 22:39Speaker 3: Oh really, yeah, I did not know that.
- 22:43Speaker 1: I didn't know that either until a couple of days ago.
- 22:46Speaker 3: So I wonder does that mean isn't that selling very well?
- 22:51Speaker 1: Oh no, Well, we saw the new comic line last
- 22:56Speaker 1: week with what was the comic line with Kevin Scott
- 23:01Speaker 1: and Greg Patt.
- 23:02Speaker 3: Oh ye, yeah, the paper Cuts.
- 23:05Speaker 1: Yeah, we saw that one. So maybe they're like, Okay,
- 23:08Speaker 1: Marvels a little expensive, so we need to kind of
- 23:12Speaker 1: branch out in other directions and maybe not have an
- 23:15Speaker 1: ongoing but just have many runs.
- 23:19Speaker 2: Maybe maybe, But Katie kay I told you before we
- 23:28Speaker 2: started recording, I liked this story a lot more than
- 23:31Speaker 2: I thought I.
- 23:32Speaker 3: Was going to.
- 23:33Speaker 1: Yes, which makes me happy.
- 23:36Speaker 3: When it comes to.
- 23:38Speaker 2: Romanticy because technically that's what this is in some.
- 23:42Speaker 3: Form or fashion correct.
- 23:44Speaker 2: Yes, I was introduced to the genre from Abby.
- 23:52Speaker 3: Actually, uh there, it was.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Like it was weird because it was also like religious
- 23:59Speaker 2: romance to see, which is was.
- 24:01Speaker 3: Yeah, it was very odd.
- 24:04Speaker 1: We don't have to talk about this now, but I
- 24:06Speaker 1: just had to ask.
- 24:08Speaker 2: Well, I'll answer it when we're when we're off the
- 24:11Speaker 2: when we're on are But but romance as a genre,
- 24:16Speaker 2: not just romanticy, but romance was was kind of introduced
- 24:20Speaker 2: by Abby for me, and you know, me being the
- 24:25Speaker 2: guy that I was back then, I was like romance,
- 24:29Speaker 2: I'm not gonna like this and blah blah blah. And
- 24:31Speaker 2: I slowly started to be like, holy crap, this is
- 24:35Speaker 2: actually a really good genre. And you know, I've you know,
- 24:41Speaker 2: kind of dabbled my toes into a lot of different things.
- 24:45Speaker 3: When it comes to romance and romanticy.
- 24:48Speaker 2: This one, I didn't know what I was really expecting because,
- 24:55Speaker 2: like I said, I thought this was a high republic
- 24:59Speaker 2: book just like that. I don't know why I thought that,
- 25:05Speaker 2: but I just saw the cover. I was like, this
- 25:06Speaker 2: looks like a High Republic book. Doesn't have high Republic
- 25:09Speaker 2: in the title at all, but that should be my first,
- 25:13Speaker 2: you know, indicator that it's not High Republic.
- 25:16Speaker 1: This was published before the High Republic was even a thing.
- 25:20Speaker 1: It was published August sixth, twenty nineteen.
- 25:23Speaker 3: Yeah, very true, very true. And so.
- 25:27Speaker 2: When I started reading it, I was like, Okay, a
- 25:35Speaker 2: little bit of a trope long lost friends, and I'll
- 25:40Speaker 2: be honest, the idea that these long lost best friends
- 25:47Speaker 2: were actually always meant to be together.
- 25:50Speaker 3: I kind of rolled my eyes at. I was like,
- 25:53Speaker 3: this is going to be the most cheesy, sappy.
- 25:59Speaker 2: Writing that I probably will not enjoy whatsoever. And they
- 26:08Speaker 2: made it very compelling. I like Izzy's character because she,
- 26:21Speaker 2: for one, they kind of make you.
- 26:24Speaker 3: They flip the rolls.
- 26:28Speaker 2: And they do it on purpose when they are young.
- 26:32Speaker 2: In the beginning of the book, they run off planet
- 26:36Speaker 2: with her with Izzy and her parents, and Izzy is
- 26:39Speaker 2: so sad and she's crying and she's.
- 26:42Speaker 3: Like, Dad, Dad, no, no, no, no, we gotta go back,
- 26:44Speaker 3: we gotta go back.
- 26:45Speaker 2: And her dad, her dad, is the one that answers her, No,
- 26:49Speaker 2: we can't go.
- 26:50Speaker 3: We can't go back. We just have to go.
- 26:54Speaker 2: So that kind of leads the reader into thinking, what
- 26:59Speaker 2: did the dad do? What did the dad do? But
- 27:03Speaker 2: as you come to learn, the dad did nothing wrong.
- 27:09Speaker 2: It was the mother who lived this lifestyle of being
- 27:16Speaker 2: a little bit of a scoundrel, being a little bit
- 27:18Speaker 2: of a.
- 27:20Speaker 3: Well, we don't at the very end, we still don't know.
- 27:24Speaker 4: Yeah, it appears that she was a combination bounty hunter
- 27:31Speaker 4: and smuggler. At the end of the day, she taught
- 27:34Speaker 4: her daughter a lot of survival skills and kind of
- 27:38Speaker 4: focused on that as her end.
- 27:41Speaker 1: Goal of teaching in the end stage. But like to
- 27:48Speaker 1: your point of switching the roles, I think Cordova does
- 27:51Speaker 1: an incredible job with that aspect of flipping your tender
- 27:56Speaker 1: ginger norms. We have the girl as the smuggler who
- 28:00Speaker 1: who ends up off world and ends up coming back
- 28:03Speaker 1: where that would typically be a guy's role, because the
- 28:06Speaker 1: guy in this situation stays on planet even after talking
- 28:10Speaker 1: about how much he wanted to get off world and
- 28:13Speaker 1: like go see the universe kind of thing, and he
- 28:17Speaker 1: ends up staying on bat too as a farmer to
- 28:19Speaker 1: take care of his family, and so those norms that
- 28:24Speaker 1: we typically see in this girl takes care of her family,
- 28:29Speaker 1: guy goes off, world comes back kind of situation that
- 28:33Speaker 1: has changed here we're flipped around, and she does a
- 28:37Speaker 1: really good job making it, making it very normal. I know,
- 28:42Speaker 1: that's a weird way to say. It's very natural. Natural
- 28:45Speaker 1: was the word I was looking for. Thank you. Oh,
- 28:48Speaker 1: I just love the way Cordova writes. Guys, if you
- 28:51Speaker 1: haven't read her Incendiary and Illusionary series, it's a duology.
- 29:00Speaker 3: Those I have not read. She did, of course read.
- 29:03Speaker 1: She wrote it in high republic.
- 29:04Speaker 3: Yeah, REPUBLICA two?
- 29:06Speaker 2: Yeah, which ones were? It wasn't cataclysm, it was convergence, convergence.
- 29:19Speaker 3: I was like, I knew it's a C.
- 29:20Speaker 1: Which one is one of those two? Yeah, she did
- 29:23Speaker 1: that one, and then she did the middle grades and
- 29:25Speaker 1: face she did to middle grades and face. I think, yep, yeah,
- 29:31Speaker 1: but yeah, incredible author, really does a fantastic job with it.
- 29:36Speaker 3: Uh.
- 29:37Speaker 1: And like I'm typically not one who goes and like
- 29:41Speaker 1: looks for like perfect writing, but every time I read
- 29:44Speaker 1: one of Kordova's writings, Like, typically as you reread something,
- 29:48Speaker 1: you might go, oh, that's a mistake. There or like
- 29:50Speaker 1: that doesn't sound super right. I've never found that with
- 29:53Speaker 1: Kordova is writing at all, like super clean writer, really
- 29:58Speaker 1: really good job.
- 30:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 30:00Speaker 1: Like I think this is like probably my fifth time
- 30:03Speaker 1: rereading this because I loved it so much when it
- 30:05Speaker 1: first came out, and.
- 30:07Speaker 3: It's surprisingly a quick read.
- 30:09Speaker 1: It really is because I procrastinated. So I started this last.
- 30:13Speaker 3: Night, so did I? No no, no, no no. I procrastinated
- 30:21Speaker 3: as well. Not gonna lie.
- 30:24Speaker 2: I started this yesterday and then I was like, crap,
- 30:37Speaker 2: how am I going to get this? And I was like,
- 30:40Speaker 2: let's see if my very tired brain can process two
- 30:44Speaker 2: point five speeds on an audiobook? And I got it
- 30:49Speaker 2: all and then I was able to finish the last
- 30:52Speaker 2: ten chapters at one point six speed.
- 30:57Speaker 1: So I will tell you Lost Stars is not as
- 31:00Speaker 1: quick a reread, so you need to start that tomorrow.
- 31:06Speaker 2: Oh boy, I have it so like I have it digitally,
- 31:13Speaker 2: So I I really dug this. I like Isy as
- 31:18Speaker 2: a character. I like Jewels. I like their motivations or
- 31:24Speaker 2: the lack thereof. I like the scenario that they get into.
- 31:33Speaker 2: It's a very simple, you know, hiccup of things is
- 31:40Speaker 2: he gets into a job that you know, hey, ask
- 31:44Speaker 2: no questions, get paid, You're good to go, you know,
- 31:47Speaker 2: blah blah blah blah blah.
- 31:48Speaker 3: And you know, it's it's a very easy mix.
- 31:52Speaker 2: Up of bags, very classic trope, but it works, and
- 31:57Speaker 2: I really really like it.
- 32:01Speaker 3: I like how the farm boy.
- 32:06Speaker 2: Ignorance is bliss type of character that Jeles is for
- 32:10Speaker 2: when Izzy comes around, because he kind of calls her
- 32:16Speaker 2: out on her bullshit a whole lot when it comes
- 32:20Speaker 2: to her putting up her guards and not trusting anybody,
- 32:26Speaker 2: and so she lies a lot, and I thought that
- 32:30Speaker 2: was a very interesting point in the book.
- 32:34Speaker 3: There's a lot of lying on every side, but there.
- 32:40Speaker 2: Comes a point where I think Izzy is the first
- 32:44Speaker 2: to say it. She is quoting her mother and saying
- 32:49Speaker 2: lying is a skill. And that comes back later on
- 32:53Speaker 2: in the book basically as code for Jewls to basically
- 32:59Speaker 2: tell i Isy that hey, I'm just playing their game.
- 33:04Speaker 2: We'll figure this out later. So yeah, I I like
- 33:09Speaker 2: all of that. I really really do the like romance
- 33:14Speaker 2: side of it. Excuse me, I think it didn't get
- 33:21Speaker 2: too like like it was. It was nothing compared to that.
- 33:30Speaker 1: Very ya friendly, like very tame, very very thing nowadays
- 33:35Speaker 1: where it's like hya, but there's sex in it. There's
- 33:38Speaker 1: no sex in this. I would consider this like true ya,
- 33:42Speaker 1: this is this is true young adult.
- 33:44Speaker 2: But even so this is like just flirtatious because even
- 33:48Speaker 2: when like I I kind of thought like, oh, they're
- 33:52Speaker 2: gonna go all the way deep and like you're gonna
- 33:55Speaker 2: see like plans of a future and like a proposal
- 34:00Speaker 2: and things like that.
- 34:01Speaker 3: Like no, like at the end of this, there's still
- 34:05Speaker 3: just like friends and dating, you know.
- 34:08Speaker 2: Yeah, Like there's there's no real thing, like they both
- 34:12Speaker 2: have the idea of like I love this person, yep, right,
- 34:18Speaker 2: but there's never anything that's like, oh, we're gonna, you know,
- 34:24Speaker 2: stop what we're doing and we're gonna make a family
- 34:28Speaker 2: and we're gonna plant our roots here and all this
- 34:31Speaker 2: other stuff.
- 34:32Speaker 1: Very much like we want to go explore the world
- 34:34Speaker 1: the universe together.
- 34:36Speaker 3: Yeah, And.
- 34:39Speaker 1: That's it basically.
- 34:40Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 34:41Speaker 1: Yeah. And the fact that this is a tame romance
- 34:46Speaker 1: doesn't detract me from it in the slightest, Like it
- 34:51Speaker 1: makes it super fun and it reminds.
- 34:54Speaker 5: You of the idealistic like young loves sort of thing
- 35:00Speaker 5: because you look at it and it's like, Okay, they
- 35:03Speaker 5: were six years old when Izzy and her family left
- 35:07Speaker 5: and she's returning thirteen years later, so they're only nineteen
- 35:12Speaker 5: years old in this so very.
- 35:13Speaker 1: Much young love situation. Cordova just is incredible with I
- 35:24Speaker 1: have said that already, but like I love how she
- 35:26Speaker 1: includes certain tropes like and it's again that reversal of
- 35:31Speaker 1: norms because like on page two fifty eight, m Jule says,
- 35:39Speaker 1: my eyes are up here Garcia, like yeah, but that's
- 35:42Speaker 1: typically the girl's life. And I just gaggled, like.
- 35:46Speaker 3: Super fun is when they're going swimming right yeah yeah.
- 35:52Speaker 1: And then only a couple only a couple pages later,
- 35:56Speaker 1: like I have it like dual marked because I marked
- 36:00Speaker 1: everything in red that I wanted to like highlight on
- 36:03Speaker 1: the podcast. But like he talks like she's so very
- 36:08Speaker 1: much like but like what happens tomorrow?
- 36:11Speaker 3: Like what if?
- 36:12Speaker 1: What if you decide in two weeks and we're flying
- 36:15Speaker 1: together and you hate my guts and now you want
- 36:18Speaker 1: to come back to my too, Like what happens then?
- 36:21Speaker 1: And he just tells her like I want you because
- 36:23Speaker 1: you're everything. You are the reason I can find bravery
- 36:26Speaker 1: when I don't want to be brave. I just like, oh, like, oh.
- 36:36Speaker 2: How did you feel about the little bit of mystery
- 36:41Speaker 2: that we had in here, And I say mystery as
- 36:44Speaker 2: far as like uh Doc, Doc was uh somebody that
- 36:51Speaker 2: of course Jules knew, and he had gone missing, but
- 36:57Speaker 2: they had they kept going at it like, oh, this
- 37:00Speaker 2: feels weird, something feels weird about this.
- 37:02Speaker 3: Where is he? Where? Why hasn't he been here yet?
- 37:04Speaker 2: Hey, he's been gone like a really long time, and
- 37:07Speaker 2: they kept going at it.
- 37:09Speaker 3: So how did you feel about.
- 37:12Speaker 2: Like a good chunk of like the end of the beginning,
- 37:17Speaker 2: like I want to say, the end of the first act,
- 37:20Speaker 2: up until like middle of the second act, we kind
- 37:25Speaker 2: of have that mystery and we finally find him.
- 37:28Speaker 3: How did you feel about all that? Did that detract
- 37:31Speaker 3: from the story at all? You feel like? Or did
- 37:34Speaker 3: it fit pretty well?
- 37:36Speaker 1: I felt like it fit pretty well. What did you think?
- 37:38Speaker 1: Because to me, I'm like, Okay, this is helping them
- 37:43Speaker 1: rebond and kind of thing because it's delaying her, so
- 37:47Speaker 1: gave it. It gave the story a reason for Izzy
- 37:49Speaker 1: to be delayed and not just like get what Doc
- 37:51Speaker 1: can come back. Yeah, I felt like it's fit.
- 37:55Speaker 2: At first, I was kind of feeling like, oh, this
- 37:58Speaker 2: is literally only to get us from point A to
- 38:01Speaker 2: point B.
- 38:03Speaker 3: And when I.
- 38:04Speaker 2: Started to see more of the conversations that Izzy and
- 38:10Speaker 2: Jewels were having with the topic of Doc, it got
- 38:15Speaker 2: to a point where it's like, Okay.
- 38:19Speaker 3: Izzy is seeing how Jewles.
- 38:22Speaker 2: Works, what he's been up to for this entire time,
- 38:29Speaker 2: kind of sees what kind of person he is when
- 38:31Speaker 2: it comes to like, oh, well, Doc doesn't do anything
- 38:35Speaker 2: out of the ordinary, He never does anything out of schedule.
- 38:38Speaker 2: He doesn't leave anything out of place, you know, being
- 38:42Speaker 2: real like attention to detail type of person both Doc
- 38:47Speaker 2: and Jewels at this point. And this also does introduce
- 38:54Speaker 2: us to uh is it Tap or Tip? I can't
- 38:58Speaker 2: remember Tap. The relationship between Jules and Tap is also.
- 39:06Speaker 3: Seen by Izzy through this interaction. Yep.
- 39:10Speaker 2: And I also think that that helps us for later
- 39:12Speaker 2: on when the third act finally starts to really ramp
- 39:19Speaker 2: up and getting to the climax of the story. Tap
- 39:23Speaker 2: is a very important part of that, and so I
- 39:26Speaker 2: think this also helps that part.
- 39:29Speaker 3: So I enjoyed that.
- 39:31Speaker 1: And what did you feel, because, like you said, Tap
- 39:35Speaker 1: is making appearances throughout he's kind of helping Doc. But
- 39:40Speaker 1: at the end, Bolt tells us, oh, like I know
- 39:45Speaker 1: you care about this kid talking to Jules, I know
- 39:48Speaker 1: you care about this kid because your dad pulled him
- 39:49Speaker 1: out of the fire as like one of his last
- 39:52Speaker 1: acts alive basically, And you find that out. You find
- 39:55Speaker 1: that out at the very end, and I had forgotten
- 39:58Speaker 1: about that, and I'm like, yeah, because there's.
- 40:04Speaker 2: There's this conversation when both Jewls and Izzy are like
- 40:11Speaker 2: doing that very stupid like, oh, I'm gonna tell you
- 40:14Speaker 2: some very hateful things so that way you don't get hurt,
- 40:16Speaker 2: and you just away from each other, Like I usually
- 40:22Speaker 2: roll my eyes in every book or movie or TV
- 40:25Speaker 2: show where the love.
- 40:27Speaker 3: Interests do that to each other.
- 40:28Speaker 2: I'm like, this is just like stupid because I know
- 40:32Speaker 2: that y'all are just gonna run back to each other's arms.
- 40:34Speaker 3: This is just a waste of time.
- 40:37Speaker 2: But when they're doing that, that's when you learn about
- 40:41Speaker 2: Jewels father and what he did for a living. And
- 40:48Speaker 2: when you learn that about Tap, it does put on
- 40:53Speaker 2: a little bit more weight because, like you said, he
- 40:55Speaker 2: does have like this sense of responsibility, this sense of like, yeah,
- 41:02Speaker 2: being the the the father figure yep to Tap, and
- 41:09Speaker 2: Andrew is here in the chat hello, hello.
- 41:12Speaker 3: Hello, and.
- 41:15Speaker 2: But yeah, I think that each part of this story
- 41:18Speaker 2: was very meticulously brought about to not be just like, oh,
- 41:27Speaker 2: we're gonna throw this in here just to.
- 41:29Speaker 3: Be filler, right, because like even even the moment of like,
- 41:35Speaker 3: is he needs to get this satchel, But that's Doc's office.
- 41:41Speaker 2: Nobody goes in there. Every single Hondo's office, excuse me,
- 41:46Speaker 2: Hondo's office. Everything that goes in there stays in there,
- 41:50Speaker 2: and once it goes in, it never comes out. I
- 41:55Speaker 2: love this part because first they're trying to are you
- 42:00Speaker 2: on who should do it and who shouldn't, and then
- 42:03Speaker 2: finally Izzy starts to get in there, and then Izzy,
- 42:09Speaker 2: not really knowing what she's doing it, also has this
- 42:13Speaker 2: moment of like, God, damn it, he was right because
- 42:18Speaker 2: she gets in there and it's on the highest of
- 42:21Speaker 2: all shelves, and she's like, oh, Jules wouldn't even have
- 42:24Speaker 2: to jump to get that. He could just reach for
- 42:27Speaker 2: it and get it. Okay, let me go climb on
- 42:29Speaker 2: this and see if I can grab it. But like
- 42:34Speaker 2: I say, all that to who we eventually meet is Delta.
- 42:38Speaker 1: Yep.
- 42:40Speaker 2: This one moment, this seemingly like kind of comedic relief
- 42:47Speaker 2: moment in this very tense situation, actually leads us to
- 42:52Speaker 2: a character that is going to help our main characters
- 42:55Speaker 2: throughout the rest of the story. Like, I really how
- 43:01Speaker 2: Cordova really structured this story from beginning to end.
- 43:08Speaker 1: Yeah, and like you said, there's just there's some points
- 43:12Speaker 1: of levity, but they all come back to tell you
- 43:15Speaker 1: together at the end and it just really works out
- 43:20Speaker 1: very nicely. What did you think about DeMar Is he's
- 43:26Speaker 1: X in this.
- 43:27Speaker 3: Book, Dumar? I feel like needed a little more character
- 43:35Speaker 3: build up.
- 43:37Speaker 2: Because yes, he's the stummy ex boyfriend, that's kind of the.
- 43:44Speaker 3: Easiest thing you can label him as.
- 43:48Speaker 2: And then he just becomes like the main villain all
- 43:54Speaker 2: of the sudden, there's nothing really there. But then he
- 44:00Speaker 2: isn't the main villain because it's actually this other girl
- 44:06Speaker 2: who Damar actually you know, chose besides Izzy, right.
- 44:15Speaker 3: Her name is.
- 44:21Speaker 2: What is her name? Yes, Anna Anatola? Yeah, yes, Anatola.
- 44:39Speaker 2: She is like the real villain. And I think with Damar,
- 44:49Speaker 2: like you do, at one point, just finally realize, oh,
- 44:54Speaker 2: he's just being a good little boy, listening to every
- 44:58Speaker 2: order that's taken right or that's given to him.
- 45:03Speaker 3: He doesn't really have he He's probably.
- 45:06Speaker 2: The guy that doesn't really have an original thought in
- 45:09Speaker 2: his mind, you know.
- 45:12Speaker 3: Especially you get that especially when he tries to play
- 45:18Speaker 3: like the cool, suave.
- 45:19Speaker 2: Guy when he first meets with Izzy and Jewels outside
- 45:25Speaker 2: of Doc's place, and and that's when is he actually
- 45:32Speaker 2: shot at his feet?
- 45:33Speaker 3: You know. But like I I wanted more from him.
- 45:39Speaker 3: I think I needed a little bit more depth with
- 45:42Speaker 3: him to really feel like when they finally leave, or
- 45:51Speaker 3: like when when they finally.
- 45:53Speaker 2: Like win quote unquote against Anatola and Damar and the
- 45:58Speaker 2: old crew, that like it would be worth it, right
- 46:05Speaker 2: because even when you look at that whole conflict, there
- 46:11Speaker 2: isn't like a huge fight. There isn't like a battle
- 46:15Speaker 2: to win or anything else. It's really, hey, let's stop
- 46:20Speaker 2: this objective and that's really all they do.
- 46:24Speaker 3: And I think that's more so the nature of it.
- 46:26Speaker 2: Being a young adult novel and not an adult novel.
- 46:31Speaker 2: I think there would have been a little bit more
- 46:32Speaker 2: of a battle or a blaster fight or something, but
- 46:37Speaker 2: it is what it is. But I do think that
- 46:45Speaker 2: he needed a little bit more characterization.
- 46:48Speaker 3: On Atola.
- 46:50Speaker 2: You can just kind of hear the poison in her
- 46:55Speaker 2: lines a lot when she was talking to Izzy, and
- 47:00Speaker 2: you're like Oh you're a mean girl.
- 47:02Speaker 1: Yeah, you're a mean girl.
- 47:04Speaker 3: I know who you are already, you know.
- 47:08Speaker 2: And then of course when you learn at the very
- 47:10Speaker 2: end what she's wanting to do, like, and I think
- 47:15Speaker 2: that's kind of like it for me is the fact that,
- 47:18Speaker 2: like I probably needed another five.
- 47:23Speaker 3: Chapters to kind of learn Anatola's real motivations, like whose
- 47:31Speaker 3: orders does she get this from? And like where does
- 47:34Speaker 3: this really come from?
- 47:36Speaker 1: So it was a job that she got hired for, Yeah,
- 47:42Speaker 1: I know that, but there wasn't really any there.
- 47:46Speaker 2: I know that in the inn, it wasn't really super
- 47:50Speaker 2: important to the story. Otherwise I do think Cordova would
- 47:54Speaker 2: have gone in depth for it because she wanted to
- 47:58Speaker 2: keep the focus on. Of course, is he in Jew
- 48:00Speaker 2: and they're just going to stop the people that are
- 48:03Speaker 2: trying to do this.
- 48:04Speaker 3: That's totally fine. I understand that.
- 48:07Speaker 2: But I think for me personally, because I'm the type
- 48:13Speaker 2: of person that when I'm reading these stories, I do
- 48:17Speaker 2: want to get inside the head of every character. Yeah,
- 48:21Speaker 2: and you know, we got really really spoiled with the
- 48:26Speaker 2: High Republic, with getting to getting to be with the
- 48:31Speaker 2: Nihill for five years.
- 48:36Speaker 3: And knowing what they want when they want.
- 48:39Speaker 2: It if they're going to take a detour on that mission,
- 48:43Speaker 2: what have you, and all of this other stuff, and
- 48:48Speaker 2: with Anna Damar and this crew, like I was just like, okay,
- 48:55Speaker 2: they're just there to cause trouble, and then it escalates
- 49:00Speaker 2: super quickly to hey, we're gonna destroy crops and the planet,
- 49:03Speaker 2: you know. Yeah, And so that's the only thing for
- 49:06Speaker 2: me that makes it feel a little rushed. But again,
- 49:12Speaker 2: when you sit down and notice the hyper fixation and
- 49:17Speaker 2: focus on Jules and Izzy, that little hiccup of plot
- 49:22Speaker 2: device doesn't really matter.
- 49:25Speaker 1: Yeah, because like you said, I think I think you're
- 49:29Speaker 1: right in that Cordova is just like, Okay, I'm gonna
- 49:32Speaker 1: give her mean girl vibes and that's really all the
- 49:35Speaker 1: characterization you need to know there, Like, because of where
- 49:40Speaker 1: this is at, she wanted to focus in on the
- 49:43Speaker 1: main characters versus giving you more characterization to a person
- 49:49Speaker 1: who's type cast a lot, and she just type cast
- 49:52Speaker 1: them and kind of quit with it.
- 49:54Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly.
- 49:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I love this one. This is always a reread
- 50:02Speaker 1: for me and it makes me super happy, so easy read.
- 50:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 50:11Speaker 2: Yeah, And my thing is at the very end we
- 50:16Speaker 2: get the epilogue, which is I think I think it's.
- 50:22Speaker 3: The epilogue that this happens.
- 50:24Speaker 2: But like we see Delta, we see vaults, we see jewels,
- 50:30Speaker 2: we see Izzy, and then like we see all of
- 50:34Speaker 2: this space battle start to happen.
- 50:38Speaker 3: Above but two. And I believe this.
- 50:42Speaker 2: Is supposed to really show that, like the fight against
- 50:50Speaker 2: the First Order is like truly in the thick of it, right, Yeah,
- 50:57Speaker 2: and it kind of it's really weird because Cordova writes
- 51:01Speaker 2: it like we're going to follow these characters somewhere else.
- 51:06Speaker 1: She left it open for us to have a sequel,
- 51:09Speaker 1: which I think basically her intuition here was like we
- 51:13Speaker 1: could do a sequel to this book, or you just know, Okay,
- 51:17Speaker 1: they're in the giant shit fight at the end, direct.
- 51:21Speaker 3: They are in the resistance.
- 51:23Speaker 1: Yeah, Like and so I think that works especially for
- 51:27Speaker 1: this era because you have and now people could call
- 51:31Speaker 1: it lazy writing, but I think it works when you
- 51:33Speaker 1: have the justification for it. There's a bunch of ships there,
- 51:36Speaker 1: and we don't know half of what those ships are
- 51:39Speaker 1: or who is flying them. Yeah, there's a lot of
- 51:43Speaker 1: leeway that comes there when you see ships and you
- 51:47Speaker 1: don't know where they're from.
- 51:50Speaker 3: They're gonna eventually make from a certain point of.
- 51:52Speaker 2: View, The Rise of Skywalker.
- 51:58Speaker 1: The Rise are from us point of view.
- 52:02Speaker 3: And.
- 52:04Speaker 2: I think Cordova should definitely get a story with Izzie
- 52:10Speaker 2: and Jules. Yeah, I think that would be fun, That
- 52:14Speaker 2: would make fun.
- 52:15Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, for sure.
- 52:18Speaker 1: All right, Clay, Well, I think this is everything.
- 52:23Speaker 3: That we had.
- 52:24Speaker 1: I know, guys, this is a short review, but honestly,
- 52:27Speaker 1: this is a fairly easy book, and we didn't really
- 52:31Speaker 1: hit a lot of spoilers. We just kind of talked
- 52:34Speaker 1: about things and had a lot of fun with it.
- 52:38Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a it's a thirty chapter book.
- 52:41Speaker 2: I think digitally it's like four hundred and twenty something pages,
- 52:45Speaker 2: so very very simple read. I was able to get
- 52:50Speaker 2: through it in two days. But yeah, I really really
- 52:54Speaker 2: enjoyed it. I'm gonna probably most likely start Lost tonight
- 53:01Speaker 2: if got tomorrow. I have the physical book. I was
- 53:07Speaker 2: going to start the audiobook later, but I borrowed it
- 53:18Speaker 2: from Libby.
- 53:20Speaker 1: I went back and renewed it because I borrowed it too.
- 53:24Speaker 3: Really I did too. It's due in one hour.
- 53:31Speaker 2: And I can't renew the loan because so many people
- 53:36Speaker 2: are wanting to read it.
- 53:40Speaker 1: That sucks.
- 53:41Speaker 3: So I can't currently renew it.
- 53:44Speaker 1: And guys, this book if you do not currently have
- 53:47Speaker 1: a copy on Audible or libro FM. I think it
- 53:51Speaker 1: is what the other audio one is. It is currently
- 53:56Speaker 1: not licensed anywhere other than libraries that and I have
- 54:00Speaker 1: found for an audio copy. Like I can't even access
- 54:05Speaker 1: my copy that I had on Audible. That's crazy right now,
- 54:10Speaker 1: Like it's not showing up on my Audible at all.
- 54:12Speaker 1: And I know I own all of the Star Wars novels,
- 54:15Speaker 1: so I got it from the library. But you can
- 54:19Speaker 1: find it in a library there or ebook or hard
- 54:22Speaker 1: copy books. I have the hard copy, and I think
- 54:25Speaker 1: I also have the digital copy.
- 54:28Speaker 3: Very nice.
- 54:28Speaker 2: Whatever it is, what it's like, So if you want to,
- 54:33Speaker 2: I'm gonna actually try.
- 54:35Speaker 3: So.
- 54:35Speaker 2: I tried leap uh Libby. I'm gonna try Hoopla to see.
- 54:42Speaker 3: Yeah, I think.
- 54:42Speaker 2: The audiobook on Hoopla might save me and being able
- 54:48Speaker 2: to read this a little bit faster, So I'll try it. Yeah,
- 54:54Speaker 2: but I think that is it, guys, excuse me, I
- 54:57Speaker 2: am slowly dying over here. Same of course, you can
- 55:02Speaker 2: find me at fanboy Clay at any and all social media,
- 55:07Speaker 2: specifically more Instagram and threads.
- 55:11Speaker 3: Excuse me and.
- 55:15Speaker 2: If, oh my goodness, if you guys have any kind
- 55:22Speaker 2: of interest in Pokemon cards one piece trading cards, you
- 55:31Speaker 2: can hang out with me from five am to eleven
- 55:36Speaker 2: am Eastern Standard time over on a TikTok channel called
- 55:42Speaker 2: Kingdom's Breaks. That is where my job is, where I
- 55:47Speaker 2: just open Pokemon cards and I get paid for it
- 55:50Speaker 2: on the hour. So come hang out with me. We'll

- 56:03Speaker 1: It's at Slice and Katie. I don't hang out on

- 56:11Speaker 1: of things, Thank you, Clay, But I do a lot
- 56:16Speaker 1: of other things now. But I promise I will get
- 56:19Speaker 1: back to you as soon as I can. Like I
- 56:21Speaker 1: just realized, Clay as we were talking about this, I've
- 56:24Speaker 1: never messaged my knock Banner and uh Chris back, Like,
- 56:29Speaker 1: oh no, never messaged them back. They're gonna think that
- 56:32Speaker 1: I hate their guts. I don't know. So I'm gonna
- 56:35Speaker 1: have to send them a message and hopefully I don't forget,
- 56:41Speaker 1: but uh yeah, I promise I'll get back to you
- 56:44Speaker 1: guys at some point. I promise it may not happen immediately. Uh,
