- 0:00Speaker 1: Well, if you're getting ready for the weekend, perhaps it
- 0:02Speaker 1: involves a night out.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Maybe a nice dinner.
- 0:05Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Get ready to put things on layaway. Can you put
- 0:08Speaker 2: dinner on layaway?
- 0:09Speaker 1: Right.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Good Lord.
- 0:10Speaker 3: What are those like payment fees where you can pay
- 0:12Speaker 3: it off in four.
- 0:13Speaker 2: Installments?
- 0:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, the prices... Right. are just unreal.
- 0:18Speaker 3: It's gotten crazy.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 0:20Speaker 1: I know.
- 0:20Speaker 3: I did it like last weekend, just kind of a
- 0:23Speaker 3: simple deli lunch, two sandwiches, one coffee, two glasses of water.
- 0:28Speaker 3: And by the time I... Put the tip in. It
- 0:30Speaker 3: was $ 75. That's Manhattan.
- 0:33Speaker 1: You know, at the airport over the weekend, we got
- 0:36Speaker 1: just a couple of breakfast sandwiches, two apple juices for
- 0:39Speaker 1: the kids, and a couple of coffees. Anyway, it ended
- 0:41Speaker 1: up being like $ 51 just for breakfast sandwiches.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Right.
- 0:45Speaker 1: I happened to be on Twitter slash X last night,
- 0:48Speaker 1: and the restaurant Ruth's Chris said, Oh.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Yeah, we love that place. And you and I love
- 0:53Speaker 2: that place. I'm like, why is Ruth's Chris?
- 0:54Speaker 3: I mean, that's a treat for sure.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Like, why is it trending?
- 0:57Speaker 1: And people are all talking about this one person that
- 1:00Speaker 1: posted a receipt. And the overall meal was $ 359 for
- 1:05Speaker 1: two people. And they were picking apart everything on the receipt.
- 1:09Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Like one filet mignon.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:11Speaker 2: $ 89. 95. Oh my goodness, really? I don't remember it being,
- 1:16Speaker 2: I remember it being maybe in the 40s.
- 1:17Speaker 3: Yeah, I was going to say maybe like 49 or something.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Because you and I used to go there a lot, Christine.
- 1:21Speaker 3: Right, well, like I said, that would be like special occasion, right?
- 1:24Speaker 3: If we were celebrating or something.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:27Speaker 1: Yeah. Cream spinach, $ 18.
- 1:30Speaker 2: 95. People were talking about, are you kidding me? Cream spinach, $ 18.
- 1:32Speaker 3: 95? Yeah, because you can make it at home.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Crab cakes were $ 32.
- 1:36Speaker 1: 95. Anyway.
- 1:36Speaker 3: Wow.
- 1:37Speaker 2: Everything is expensive.
- 1:38Speaker 3: But, Does it even show the liquor on there? I
- 1:40Speaker 3: wonder if they had drinks because I've got a story
- 1:43Speaker 3: this morning about wine when you go to a restaurant.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Okay. Oh, wait.
- 1:47Speaker 1: One Modelo draft, $ 15, and one red wine, $ 26. 95.
- 1:53Speaker 3: One glass of wine.
- 1:54Speaker 2: That's what it says.
- 1:55Speaker 3: See, this is, okay, that ties into this. It's from
- 1:58Speaker 3: Money Digest. They're doing a study about how much the
- 2:01Speaker 3: restaurants are marking up wine when we order dinner. 300%.
- 2:07Speaker 2: For the bottle of wine at the restaurant.
- 2:08Speaker 3: The glass.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Oh, for the glass.
- 2:10Speaker 3: They are marking it up 300%. The bottles, yes, they're
- 2:14Speaker 3: marked up the same, but they said as crazy expensive
- 2:17Speaker 3: as the bottles are, it's even more costly to get
- 2:20Speaker 3: it by the glass.
- 2:21Speaker 2: That is unreal.
- 2:23Speaker 3: And they said there's like kind of no way around
- 2:26Speaker 3: it because if you bring your own bottle, they give
- 2:27Speaker 3: you a corkage fee.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Well, I've done that too. I went out.
- 2:32Speaker 3: It can't be as much though.
- 2:33Speaker 2: It was $ 75 for a cork fee.
- 2:34Speaker 3: No. Yes.
- 2:34Speaker 1: $ 75? Back in spring when I had dinner with Sharon,
- 2:41Speaker 1: our old friend Sharon and Tom.
- 2:42Speaker 3: That's crazy.
- 2:45Speaker 2: It was $ 75 for the corking fee at the restaurant.
- 2:47Speaker 3: Can't you just, like, lean over and say, I can
- 2:49Speaker 3: do it, thank you?
- 2:50Speaker 2: Pretty much.
- 2:50Speaker 3: Bring your own, like.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Bring your own opener.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Yeah, and your own glasses.
- 2:53Speaker 2: Look, if you can afford it, great.
- 2:55Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 2:56Speaker 2: I just feel like.
- 2:57Speaker 1: I'm so happy that we're not in the dating world
- 2:59Speaker 1: anymore because I couldn't take out anybody anymore. It would
- 3:02Speaker 1: really add up if you're going out on a lot
- 3:04Speaker 1: of dates.
- 3:04Speaker 3: Yeah, but, I mean... You know, like I said, I'm
- 3:07Speaker 3: going to the theater tonight. Ann and I want to
- 3:09Speaker 3: go get dinner before the show.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Well, it looks like Arby's.
- 3:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:12Speaker 2: Is there an Arby's now?
- 3:13Speaker 3: No.
- 3:15Speaker 2: I'm going to see if she wants.
- 3:16Speaker 3: Chick-fil-A or White Castle.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Everything's expensive, like even all the fast food chains.
- 3:21Speaker 3: I know everything's gone up, but wow. But yeah, we
- 3:24Speaker 3: always look at the drinks because we always wanted to
- 3:26Speaker 3: get like one fancy drink that you would. never get,
- 3:29Speaker 3: you know, or be able to make at home.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Right.
- 3:32Speaker 3: And those, the fancy drinks are, you know, that could
- 3:34Speaker 3: be like $ 25.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Like a, like a Fufu Cosmo.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:38Speaker 3: Something, not a Cosmo, but yes.
- 3:41Speaker 1: You'd be a champagne person. I wonder how much a
- 3:43Speaker 1: glass of champagne is.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Oh, well, that's what I like to get.
- 3:46Speaker 2: I'll lean champagne.
- 3:46Speaker 3: I'm going to, Really pay attention tonight. I just know
- 3:49Speaker 3: that any time we order a drink, it gets really expensive.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Yep, that's the way it is. Well, listen.
- 3:55Speaker 3: Well, happy weekend.
- 3:56Speaker 2: How do we be happy now?
- 3:57Speaker 3: Still go out. No, no, no. You don't need a
- 3:59Speaker 3: drink either. You like coffee. Oh, well, no. You need
- 4:02Speaker 3: a drink. Okay, don't want to take that away from you.
- 4:05Speaker 2: What do you have coming up in the news?
- 4:07Speaker 3: Let's check out the headlines. Benjamin Moore has now named
- 4:10Speaker 3: their color of the year.
- 4:12Speaker 2: What color do you think it is? Give us a
- 4:14Speaker 2: text at 44363.
